White is poised to maintain an expanded role Sunday against the Bills, as Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports that Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) has been ruled out.

Irving has been sidelined since Week 4, opening the door for White to lead Tampa Bay's backfield. White averaged 16.4 touches in the previous five games Irving missed. Sean Tucker has worked as the 1B option to White in Tampa Bay's last two games, and both healthy running backs have a nice opportunity to produce Sunday against a Bills defense that's allowing 5.4 yards per carry to the position.

The Patriots' league-best run defense unsurprisingly made life difficult for White on the ground, limiting him to a long run of seven yards. Game script eventually also tilted toward the pass for Tampa Bay, and White was a beneficiary thanks to his versatility. The veteran back continued to fill the lead role -- although only by a single carry Sunday -- in the ongoing absence of Bucky Irving (shoulder/foot), and he finished with a season-high catch total as well. Considering Irving has yet to return to practice, White could well be heavily involved again in a Week 11 road matchup versus the Bills.

White is slated to lead the Buccaneers backfield Sunday against the Patriots with Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) again ruled out for that contest, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Irving has been sidelined since coming out of Week 4 action with a shoulder subluxation and a left foot sprain and so far hasn't been able to mix into any drills since late September. White has been the biggest beneficiary in Irving's absence, totaling 262 yards from scrimmage and three rushing TDs on 67 touches over the last four games. Reserve RB Sean Tucker (26 touches for 72 total yards and two rushing TDs) also has been in the mix during that span. The going may be tough for White in Week 10 versus a New England defense that has held opposing running backs to an NFL-best 3.1 yards per carry this season.

White rushed 13 times for 35 yards and had two receptions on as many targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 23-3 win over the Saints.

White got another start in place of injured starter Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) in Week 8, leading the Buccaneers' backfield in carries (13) and touches (15) in a comfortable win. That's where the good news ends, as backfield mate Sean Tucker (12-42-1) finished as the team's leading rusher while scoring its only touchdown on offense Sunday. With the Buccaneers on a bye in Week 9, there is a possibility that Irving could be ready to return when Tampa Bay resumes play against New England on Nov. 9. White would lose nearly all of his fantasy value in that scenario, so managers have to weigh whether it is worth holding on to the backup through the bye week.

White drew another start for Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) but partly fell victim to game script, as the Lions had jumped out to a 14-3 lead by halftime. White rushed five times for 12 yards and brought in his only target for two yards in the Buccaneers' 29-27 win over the Jets on Sunday.

White was coming off a 10-carry, 65-yard, one-touchdown effort against the Texans, so his downturn Sunday, which came on his second-highest snap count of the season (20), was both noteworthy and disappointing. The fourth-year back was relegated to a much smaller role in the hard-fought win, and White has also been just a minor participant in the air attack through three games with a scant four targets. White and Bucs draw a tough matchup in Week 4, as the defending champion Eagles come to town on Sunday afternoon.

While the division of labor between the two wasn't typically as unbalanced down the stretch last season in Irving's ascension within the offense, White's fantasy outlook is bleak for the time being heading into a tough Week 2 road matchup against the Texans next Monday night.

White (groin) wasn't listed on the Buccaneers' first Week 1 practice report Wednesday, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports.

White emerged from preseason Week 1 action with a groin injury, after which coach Todd Bowles said at the time made the running back "day-to-day," per Scott Smith of the team's official site. It's unclear if Wednesday's uncapped session marks White's first since then, but he now has a clean bill of health ahead of Sunday's game in Atlanta, when he'll be working in a complementary role behind No. 1 RB Bucky Irving. The 2022 third-round pick has only missed one regular-season game in his career to date, and he'd likely inherit a huge role if the 195-pound Irving were to miss any time, though there's also a lingering possibility that Sean Tucker (who averaged 6.2 YPC on just 50 rushes last year) pushes for more touches.

White, who rushed once for one yard and secured both targets for 14 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-20 wild-card loss to the Commanders on Sunday night, finished the 2024 regular season with 144 carries for 613 yards and three touchdowns and a 51-393-6 line on 57 targets across 16 games. He also committed three fumbles, losing them all.

White went into his third season set to still operate as the lead back while rookie Bucky Irving was eased into the NFL ranks as a complementary option. However, there was eventually a changing of the guard in the backfield once it became clear Irving was the more explosive player and capable of handling a true No. 1 back workload, and White ultimately finished the regular season with zero touches for only the second time in his career during the Week 18 win over the Saints. The 2022 third-round pick is set to play out the final year of his rookie contract in 2025, and considering what Irving put on film once given control of the ground attack, White may not receive a contract extension offer this offseason.

White went without a carry or target across 18 snaps in the Buccaneers' 27-19 win over the Saints on Sunday.

White surprisingly was a complete non-factor on offense, going without a single touch from scrimmage for only the second time in his career. The first instance came way back in Week 3 of the 2022 season, and that was only over five snaps in White's third professional game. Despite the fact Bucky Irving has clearly taken over the lead-back role, even No. 3 back Sean Tucker recorded two rush attempts in his five snaps Sunday. Nevertheless, given White's experience and pass-protection contributions, he figures to have his fair share of opportunity in Sunday night's wild-card matchup against the Commanders.

White rushed six times for 30 yards and brought in his only target for four yards in the Buccaneers' 48-14 win over the Panthers on Sunday.

White once again played clear second fiddle to Bucky Irving, who logged 20 carries and four receptions on as many targets. White now has just nine combined carries over the last two games, seemingly corroborating there's been a true changing of the guard in Tampa Bay's ground attack. White will face a vulnerable Saints run defense to close out the season in Week 18.

White rushed three times for 10 yards and caught seven of eight targets for 51 yards in Sunday's 26-24 loss to the Cowboys. He also lost a fumble.

White played second fiddle to Bucky Irving, who turned 19 touches into 92 total yards and a touchdown. The third-year pro posted his lowest rushing yardage total of the season but finished with his third-highest receiving yardage total of the campaign. White was held without a touchdown for only the second time in his last nine games, and his fumble at the end of a six-yard catch with 1:40 remaining secured the loss for Tampa Bay. He'll try to get back on track as a rusher in Week 17 against the generous Panthers run defense.

White took 15 carries for 64 yards (one fumble lost) while adding two receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 40-17 win over the Chargers.

Bucky Irving (back/hip) wound up suiting up after getting injured last week against Las Vegas, leading to an even split in carries between both of Tampa Bay's tailbacks. White scored the backfield's lone touchdown as a receiver while Irving stole the show with 117 rushing yards with his 15 totes. The latter is the preferred fantasy option in this timeshare, but White retains deep-league value for next Sunday's tilt at Dallas.

White rushed 17 times for 90 yards and a touchdown and secured two of three targets for 19 yards and another score in the Buccaneers' 28-13 win over the Raiders on Sunday.

White's backfield mate Bucky Irving exited the game for good in the first half with a back injury, and White was able to take advantage with a season-high rushing yardage total. The game marked the third-year pro's second straight efficient effort, as he'd also recorded 76 yards on 11 carries, albeit with the help of a big run in overtime, in a Week 13 win over the Panthers. White added his third rushing touchdown of the season on a three-yard run in the fourth quarter, a score preceded by a five-yard TD grab in the opening period. White's fantasy prospects are on an upswing irrespective of Irving's status going into a Week 15 road matchup against the Chargers.

White rushed the ball 11 times for 76 yards in Sunday's 26-23 overtime win against the Panthers. He added one reception on one target for two yards.

White had remained in a relatively even backfield split with Bucky Irving in recent weeks, though he took on a more complementary role in Sunday's win. All told, Irving out-touched White 28-14, with Irving racking up an impressive 185 yards from scrimmage. Positively, it was one of White's more effective games as a rusher this season, highlighted by a 38-yard run in overtime to set up the game-winning field goal. Despite that, it will be difficult to trust him as a fantasy starter, as all of the momentum appears to be on Irving's side.

White rushed 12 times for 37 yards and a touchdown and brought in his only target for 10 yards in the Buccaneers' 30-7 win over the Giants on Sunday.

White had trouble with his efficiency on the ground, as he logged a full 50 yards fewer than backfield mate Bucky Irving on the same number of carries. However, White was able to make up for it with his second rushing touchdown of the season, a one-yard run late in the third quarter. His catch total did tie a season low, however, and the more explosive Irving appears to be making a strong case to potentially earn even more work, leaving White's fantasy outlook for a very favorable matchup against the Panthers in Week 13 at least somewhat murky.

White rushed 10 times for 31 yards and brought in six of seven targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 23-20 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.

White logged three fewer carries and 42 fewer yards than backfield mate Bucky Irving, but he set the pace in receptions and receiving yards while checking in second in targets. White also recorded his career-high fourth receiving touchdown of the season with a nine-yard scoring grab early in the third quarter, and he'll face a Giants defense that just allowed 153 rushing yards to the Panthers' Chuba Hubbard in Week 12 following Tampa Bay's Week 11 bye.

White rushed three times for 19 yards and a touchdown and brought in all three targets for 16 yards in the Buccaneers' 30-24 overtime loss to the Chiefs on Monday night.

White scored his long overdue first rushing touchdown of the campaign on a seven-yard run early in the second quarter, but he was held to a season-low six touches despite the Buccaneers being down Mike Evans (hamstring), Chris Godwin (IR, ankle) and Jalen McMillan (hamstring). Rookie backfield mate Bucky Irving logged four more carries and the same amount of catches as White, but the workload in the Buccaneers' backfield has been somewhat unpredictable from game to game. Evans will remain out for a Week 10 home matchup against the 49ers and McMillan might be hard-pressed to return on a short week, so White could be due for a bigger role in that matchup.

White rushed six times for 29 yards and secured five of six targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 31-26 loss to the Falcons on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.

White's day started off in less than ideal fashion when he fumbled on the second play from scrimmage, but the third-year back bounced back with a serviceable all-around day salvaged by his third receiving touchdown of the campaign. White found the end zone from 18 yards out early in the second quarter and tied his second-highest catch total of the season, but he notably saw three fewer carries than backfield mate Bucky Irving. The Buccaneers' backfield figures to continue being difficult to decipher in a Week 9 road matchup against the Chiefs on Monday night, Nov. 4.

White rushed 10 times for 40 yards and secured all six targets for 71 yards and two touchdowns in the Buccaneers' 41-31 loss to the Ravens on Monday night.

White finished the game as the leader in carries among the Buccaneers' three-pronged ground attack in his return from a one-game absence, but he made his biggest mark by far as a receiver. With Mike Evans exiting the game in the first half with a hamstring injury, White became one of Baker Mayfield's top targets. The versatile back also found the end zone for the first time this season on an 11-yard grab early in the fourth quarter, and he added a second score from 23 yards out with just under two minutes remaining. White could continue in an elevated pass-catching role in a Week 8 home matchup against the Falcons, as Evans is a candidate to miss the game, and per Scott Smith of the team's official site, the injury that forced Chris Godwin to be carted off on Tampa Bay's final drive appears to be a dislocated ankle that head coach Todd Bowles believes is a long-term issue.

White (foot) is listed as active Monday against the Ravens.

While sitting out Week 6 at New Orleans due to a foot issue, White yielded the Buccaneers backfield to Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker, who combined for 28 carries for 219 yards and two touchdowns and five catches (on five targets) for 80 yards and one more TD. Both Irving and Tucker eclipsed the century mark on the ground, with the former starting and handling a 64 percent snap share and the latter getting a 38 percent share. Because coach Todd Bowles told Scott Smith of the team's official site last Thursday that Tampa Bay will roll with the "hot hand" at running back, White likely can't expect the 13.6 touches per game that he received prior to suffering the injury.

White did upgrade to a full participant in Saturday's practice, which is usually a positive indication for one's fantasy value. White's availability also impacts the duo of Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker, who broke out in a big way in the dominate win over the Saints last week. Head coach Todd Bowles relayed earlier this week that when all three backs are healthy he anticipates the team will roll with the "hot hand", an ambiguous statement that could be a frustrating one for fantasy managers reliant on any of three options out of the backfield.

White also was limited Thursday, after missing the final two practices of last week and being inactive for a 51-27 win over the Saints. It sounds like offensive coordinator Liam Coen expects White to play Monday against the Ravens, as Coen said Friday that White, Sean Tucker and Bucky Irving each will get a series early in the game, per Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site. Head coach Todd Bowles made similar comments Thursday, discussing a three-man backfield with a "hot hand" approach. It's certainly possible White makes a bid to retake the lead role, but his days of snap shares in the 70-to-80 percent range are over for the time being.

White is kicking off Week 7 prep the same way he did last week, but he also didn't practice last Thursday and Friday before being listed as doubtful and eventually inactive this past Sunday at New Orleans. As a result, even of White is able to suit up Monday against the Ravens, he may not be the preferred option among the trio.

He picked up the groin issue in the first half and was briefly forced off the field, but the starting running back managed to return without missing much time. White's injury doesn't currently seem likely to impact his availability versus the Broncos in Week 3, but he's averaging a paltry 2.0 YPC through two games to begin the 2024 season. If White's groin issue seems to hamper him as a runner in practice this week, Tampa Bay could elect to give Bucky Irving more opportunities on the ground versus Denver.

White rushed four times for 16 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for 17 yards in Friday's 24-14 preseason win over the Dolphins.

White opened the game with three consecutive carries for a combined 12 yards, caught a 17-yard pass two plays later, then scored a four-yard rushing touchdown two plays after that. The starting running back was highly effective in what ended up being the only drive Tampa Bay's starters played all preseason. Despite the offseason addition of Bucky Irving in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, White's set to reprise his role as the top option in the Buccaneers' backfield in the Sept. 8 season opener against the Commanders.

White and other starters are scheduled to play in Friday's preseason game against Miami, Brianna Dix of the Bucs' official website reports.

The starting RB often plays less than other starters, but White figures to at least take a few snaps in the only action Tampa's first-team offense will get this preseason. He's locked in atop the depth chart again, although there's some thought rookie fourth-round pick Bucky Irving will have a bigger role than last year's group of backups ever managed. White led all RBs with 823 snaps in the regular season last year, tying for second in carries (272) and ninth in targets (70) despite averaging just 3.6 yards per carry. His 91.4 percent catch rate led all qualified pass catchers, and his 7.8 yards per target was the fourth-best mark among qualified RBs.

White and other veteran starters aren't scheduled to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Bengals, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

The Bucs will play backups and rookies, with Kyle Trask starting at quarterback. White is entering his second year as the team's top running back, this time under new offensive coordinator Liam Coen, who spent the past few years bouncing between the Rams and the University of Kentucky. Backfield competition behind White again looks less than stellar, featuring rookie fourth-round pick Bucky Irving, 28-year-old Chase Edmonds (undisclosed) and 2023 UDFA Sean Tucker. With White and Edmonds presumably not playing Saturday, we could see a lot of Irving and Tucker -- both seemingly candidates for the No. 2 RB job.

White stands to be the beneficiary of the revamped running scheme in new offensive coordinator Liam Coen's offense, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports.

White already had a fine season in 2023 -- his first as the No. 1 back -- exceeding 1,500 yards from scrimmage and recording nine total touchdowns across 17 regular-season games. He added another 166 total yards and a receiving score in two postseason contests, but this coming season, he'll be deployed in a system that will include a healthy mix of mid-zone, wide-zone, tight-zone, duo and gap runs. The mid-zone concept is one White particularly has familiarity with, having operated within it successfully during his college days at Arizona State. "Mid-zone, outside zone - all that - it creates a bigger palette, and it forces the defense to guard not just a certain perimeter, but it makes them guard the whole field because the defense doesn't know what we are going to do," White said.

White rushed nine times for 55 yards and secured four of five targets for 36 yards in the Buccaneers' 31-23 divisional-round loss to the Lions on Sunday.

White opened the game with a solid dose of rush attempts, but the Buccaneers were forced to increasingly turn to the air when their deficit grew in the second half. The versatile back still enjoyed his usual role as a receiver, but his 13 total touches were his lowest since the Week 6 game against these same Lions. White corroborated his ability to serve as the team's lead back this past regular season with 990 rushing yards and six touchdowns, which he complemented with a 64-549-3 line through the air, over 17 games, putting him in position to reprise the role in 2024.

White rushed 18 times for 72 yards and secured one of three targets for three yards in the Buccaneers' 32-9 wild-card win over the Eagles on Monday night.

White handled his usual robust workload on the ground in the playoff win, helping set a positive early tone for Tampa Bay with runs of eight, four and seven yards on the Buccaneers' opening drive. White's longest run was a modest 12 yards, so he generally was able to advance the ball for meaningful distances consistently. White was less involved than usual in the passing game, but in Sunday's upcoming divisional-round clash against a Lions defense that's been outstanding against the run, he could find himself with a bigger receiving role.

White rushed 19 times for 75 yards and brought in all four targets for 18 yards in the Buccaneers' 9-0 win over the Panthers on Sunday.

White filled his usual voluminous lead-back role with success, clearing the 70-yard mark on the ground for the fifth time in the last seven games. White also finished the regular season with at least four catches in three straight contests, and the 2022 third-round pick finished just 15 rushing yards short of the 1,000-yard mark. Nevertheless, White proved a success in his first crack at the lead back role in 2023, and he's projected to continue filling his dual-purpose duties in a home wild-card matchup next weekend.

White rushed 11 times for 42 yards and brought in all four targets for 24 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-13 loss to the Saints on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.

With the Saints surprisingly taking a 20-0 lead through three quarters, White was increasingly neutralized in terms of his opportunities in the ground game. He had a serviceable day through the air, but his receiving yardage total was nothing remarkable. White has been well under 50 rushing yards in consecutive contests, but he should have a chance to reverse that trend in a Week 18 road matchup against the Panthers' suspect run defense.

White rushed 20 times for 39 yards and a touchdown and brought in six of seven targets for 38 yards in the Buccaneers' 30-12 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.

White had a drastically inefficient day on the ground, especially compared to the 4.6 yards per carry he'd averaged over the previous four contests. The standout back still found a way to be productive, however, scoring his sixth rushing touchdown of the campaign on a two-yard run early in the third quarter. He also continued to make his usual contributions through the air, tying his second-highest reception tally of the campaign. White has either a rushing or receiving touchdown in three straight games heading into a key Week 17 home divisional clash against the Saints.

White rushed 21 times for 89 yards and brought in both his targets for 50 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 34-20 win over the Packers on Sunday.

White filled his usual workhorse role in the ground attack, with Chase Edmonds the only other running back to log any carries (three). The second-year back also did his usual damage as a receiver, recording a 26-yard touchdown reception to cap off the Buccaneers' first drive of the second half. The receiving touchdown was White's third of the season and his second in as many games. White also has at least 84 rushing yards in four consecutive contests, his most productive stretch of the campaign. White will have a tougher matchup in a Week 16 interconference home battle against the Jaguars on Christmas Eve.

White rushed 25 times for 102 yards and secured both targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 29-25 win over the Falcons on Sunday. He also recovered a fumble.

White put together another strong fantasy day with a hefty workload, hitting the 100-yard mark for the second time in the last three games. The second-year back also did damage as a pass catcher once again, taking one of his two catches for a weaving 31-yard touchdown in the latter portion of the third quarter. White continues to be far and away the leader of the Buccaneers backfield, logging 20 or more carries in four of the last six contests while recording a touchdown through either the run or the air in three of the last four games as well. He'll look to exploit an inconsistent Packers run defense on the road in Week 15.

White carried the ball 20 times for 84 yards and a touchdown and caught three of five targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 21-18 win over the Panthers.

The second-year back's resurgence continued with a one-yard TD plunge in the first quarter. White has five touchdowns (four rushing, one receiving) over the last five games while also racking up 491 scrimmage yards, including back-to-back contests in triple digits. He'll look to keep rolling in Week 14 against a Falcons defense he hit up for 99 combined yards in their Week 7 meeting.

White (knee) rushed 15 times for 100 yards and secured both targets for 10 yards in the Buccaneers' 27-20 loss to the Colts on Sunday.

White finally found some consistent running room after coming into the game with an average of 3.3 yards per carry, with a game-long 38-yard run helping boost up his tally considerably. The second-year back was less involved in the passing game than usual -- his receiving yardage total tied a season low -- but White more than made up for it with his work on the ground. Next on the docket for White and the Bucs are the Panthers in a Week 13 divisional home matchup.

White (knee) is active for Sunday's game in Indianapolis, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

The Buccaneers tacked on White to their practice report Saturday due to a knee injury, which left him questionable for Week 12 action. Indeed, that has come to fruition, and White now will be taking on a Colts defense that has given up the fifth-most touchdowns (12) to opposing running backs in 10 games this season.

White carried the ball nine times for 30 yards and a touchdown and caught six of seven targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 27-14 loss to the 49ers.

The second-year running back was held to his lowest yardage total from scrimmage since Week 6, but White salvaged his day with a one-yard TD plunge early in the fourth quarter, He's found the end zone in three straight games, scoring three rushing TDs and a receiving TD over that stretch, and White could keep rolling in Week 12 against a Colts defense which had allowed 12 total touchdowns to RBs in 10 games prior to its bye.

White rushed 20 times for 51 yards and brought in two of three targets for 47 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 20-6 win over the Titans on Sunday.

White drew his typical workhorse role on the ground, and as customary, he found running room at a premium. However, the second-year back salvaged his fantasy day with a nifty 43-yard touchdown reception off a screen pass just past the midway point of the second quarter where he weaved his way to the end zone down the left side of the field. White now has back-to-back 20-carry tallies heading into a tough Week 11 road battle against the 49ers.

White rushed 20 times for 73 yards and two touchdowns and brought in all four targets for 46 yards in the Buccaneers' 39-37 loss to the Texans on Sunday.

White once again took on a hefty workload on the ground and complemented it with a solid allotment of work as a pass catcher, leading to what was arguably his best all-around performance of the season. The two rushing scores put White over the top fantasy-wise, with the second-year pro finding the end zone on a pair of one-yard runs in the second and fourth quarters. White's secure lead-back role and locked-in receiving volume gives him plenty of appeal at home against the Titans in Week 10.

White rushed nine times for 39 yards and brought in all seven targets for 70 yards in the Buccaneers' 24-18 loss to the Bills on Thursday night.

White had limited opportunities on the ground due to game script, although his 4.3 yards per carry tied his season high from Week 2, when he posted a 17-carry, 73-yard effort versus the Bears. Where the versatile second-year back really shined Thursday was as a receiver, with his catch and yardage totals both leading the Buccaneers on the night. Both numbers were also season-high figures, and White now boasts a 13-135 receiving line on an unblemished catch rate over the last two contests heading into a Week 9 road matchup against the Texans on Sunday, Nov. 5.

White rushed the ball 13 times for 34 yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to the Falcons. He added six receptions on six targets for 65 yards.

Despite being shut down on the ground, this was primarily a positive performance for White. After slipping into an apparent timeshare with Ke'Shawn Vaughn in the last two weeks, he accounted for 13 rushing attempts as opposed to only four for Vaughn. In addition, White was excellent catching passes out of the backfield, highlighted by a 22-yard gain midway through the second quarter. White is tough to trust given that he's topped 50 rushing yards only twice in six games this season, but he has at least 13 carries and multiple catches in all but one contest.

White rushed the ball seven times for 26 yards in Sunday's 20-6 win over the Buccaneers. He added three receptions on four targets for 12 yards.

White got the first chance to lead Tampa Bay's backfield, but after picking up only nine yards on his first three carries, the team began to split work between he and Ke'Shawn Vaughn. While that's concerning for White moving forward, he was far more efficient than Vaughn both on the ground and as a pass catcher. That may mean that he hangs onto the lead-back role, but White now has fewer than 50 rushing yards in three of five games this season and has only one total touchdown.

White rushed 15 times for 56 yards and secured all three targets for 22 yards in the Buccaneers' 26-9 win over the Saints on Sunday.

White put together a trademark two-way performance, turning in a workman-like effort on the ground while making his usual complementary contributions as a receiver. The second-year back has now fewer than 14 carries or two catches in any of his first four games, and even though backfield mate Ke'Shawn Vaughn saw nine carries Sunday, there's no questioning White's role as the Bucs' lead back heading into the team's Week 5 bye.

White rushed 14 times for 38 yards and secured all three targets for 24 yards in the Buccaneers' 25-11 loss to the Eagles on Monday night. He also lost a fumble.

White was stymied repeatedly on the ground by an Eagles defense that came in allowing the fewest rushing yards per game, and he was only able to partly make up for it with his work as a receiver. The second-year back has now averaged under 3.0 yards per carry in two of his first three games while running behind a makeshift offensive line, and White's outlook doesn't get much brighter in Week 4 with the Saints defense on tap in what projects to be a difficult road matchup.

White rushed 17 times for 73 yards and a touchdown and brought in all five targets for 30 yards in the Buccaneers' 27-17 win over the Bears on Sunday.

White once again served as the clear leader of the ground attack, and he made up for an inefficient opener with solid per-touch efficiency, as well as with his first touchdown of the season on a four-yard run early in the second quarter. White's volume as both runner and receiver Sunday is likely close to ideal for the Buccaneers' purposes, although the second-year back certainly has the ability to shoulder a 20-plus-carry workload if necessary. White next sets his sights on a tough Eagles defense that comes into Tampa Bay for a Week 3 showdown Monday night, Sept. 25.

White rushed 17 times for 39 yards and brought in both targets for 10 yards in the Buccaneers' 20-17 win over the Vikings on Sunday.

As expected, White handled a true lead-back role to kick off his second season, but the matchup proved anything but favorable. A Vikings defense that already looks more aggressive under new coordinator Brian Flores repeatedly stifled White on the ground, limiting him to a miserable 2.3 yards per carry and a long run of six yards. Nevertheless, the touch volume was certainly encouraging, and White could encounter a more palatable scenario against the Bears during a Week 2 early-afternoon home matchup in the fatiguing Florida heat.

White took seven carries for 39 yards and caught his only target for two yards in Saturday's 26-20 preseason win over Baltimore.

White got the start and played every snap on the two drives Baker Mayfield and Chris Godwin played. The second-year RB stayed on the field after those two and took a bunch of carries on the next drive with a mixed unit of starters and backups, eventually finishing his night with 41 yards on eight touches. While it remains unclear how things will shake out behind him, there's no doubt White will open the season as the lead back when the Bucs travel to Minnesota in Week 1.

White isn't expected to play in Friday's preseason game versus the Steelers, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

White is the lone Buccaneers running back not suiting up for their preseason opener, which will allow Chase Edmonds, Ke'Shawn Vaughn, Sean Tucker, Patrick Laird and Ronnie Brown to man the backfield. After racking up 121 touches for 519 yards from scrimmage and two receiving TDs in the final eight regular-season games of 2022, White is slated to be Tampa Bay's lead runner in the coming campaign.

Offensive coordinator Dave Canales expects White to be "fantastic" and recently told reporters the running back is "so natural" and has a well-rounded skillset, Scott Smith of buccaneers.com reports.

It's an optimistic outlook given that White's rookie season was a mixed bag, in which he played all 17 games (eight starts) and caught 50 of 58 targets (86.2 percent) but averaged only 5.8 yards per reception and 3.7 yards per carry (129/481/1 rushing line). On the other hand, Canales seemingly isn't the only one in the organization with this level of optimism, considering the Bucs didn't draft a running back and brought in only Chase Edmonds and Patrick Laird as veteran additions. Both are more likely to get snaps on late downs than early downs, if they even make the team and earn roles, while the competition for carries may come from 2020 third-round pick Ke'Shawn Vaughn and undrafted rookie Sean Tucker. It sets up White for a wide range of outcomes, as he still has a lot to prove but could end up operating as a three-down workhorse if the Bucs like what they see throughout summer and into the season. Few teams, if any, look weaker in the backfield on paper right now, though the Bucs seem cautiously optimis

White, who's primed to serve as the Buccaneers' lead back this coming season, has set a goal of becoming the team's first 1,000-yard rusher since Doug Martin in 2015, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.

White made his proclamation during an appearance on NFL Network's Good Morning Football on Friday, acknowledging the amount of seasons it's been since the team had a runner reach the 1,000-yard mark and adding "I want to, of course, eclipse that." White was on the field for just 39 percent of the Buccaneers' offensive snaps as a rookie in 2022, but with Leonard Fournette now off the roster following his March release, the path to primary early-down duties is clear. Also expected to work in White's favor is the fact new offensive coordinator Dave Canales is expected to place more emphasis on the running game than predecessor Byron Leftwich after Tampa Bay finished last in the league last season with 75.6 rushing yards per game.

As the Buccaneers' offseason program commences this week, White profiles as the team's No. 1 running back, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.

With last season's top rusher Leonard Fournette no longer with the team, White appears poised to see an expanded role this coming season in a Tampa Bay backfield that also includes Ke'Shawn Vaughn, Chase Edmonds and Patrick Laird. The rookie should enjoy a solid role in next weekend's home wild-card matchup after logging double-digit carries and receptions in three of the four games prior to Sunday's finale.

White carried 11 times for 22 yards and brought in all five targets for 26 yards in the Buccaneers' 30-24 win over the Panthers on Sunday.

White was stymied on the ground but was able to make some solid contributions through the air. The rookie's touch count outpaced Leonard Fournette's by two, although as past weeks have shown, that can change from game to game. It remains to be seen what White's Week 18 workload against the Falcons will be, as whether the Buccaneers can improve playoff positioning with a victory will likely be a major factor.

White rushed seven times for 36 yards and brought in all four targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 19-16 overtime win over the Cardinals on Sunday night.

White played a clear second fiddle to backfield mate Leonard Fournette, who recorded 29 total touches to the rookie's 11. White still found a way to make a critical contribution, however, as his three-yard touchdown reception on third down with just over eight minutes remaining in regulation began the Buccaneers' comeback in earnest. White should continue to enjoy a solid complementary role at minimum in a pivotal Week 17 home clash against the Panthers, although how it will compare to Fournette's workload remains to be seen.

White rushed 11 times for 38 yards and caught one of two targets for five yards in Sunday's 34-23 loss to the Bengals.

It was a tough draw on paper for White and the Buccaneers' rushing attack, and the matchup lived up to the billing. White technically started the contest, but he saw a near-even split in touches with Leonard Fournette (12 to 14). The third-round pick from this year's draft has performed adequately since taking on a larger role to help the struggling Fournette, but neither back can truly thrive while the other cannibalizes carries. Both White and Fournette should be considered fringe fantasy options ahead of Sunday's tilt against Arizona.

White carried the ball 13 times for 56 yards and caught all five of his targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 35-7 loss to the 49ers.

It was a tough day overall for the Buccaneers' offense, but White still led the club in rushing yards and scrimmage yards while seeing 18 touches to Leonard Fournette's 10. Fournette dealt with a foot injury during the week which may have limited his workload, but a backfield timeshare won't do much for either RB's fantasy upside in Week 15 against a Bengals defense that just held Nick Chubb to 34 rushing yards on 14 carries.

White and the returning Leonard Fournette (hip) split the work nearly evenly on the ground, with the latter logging one additional carry. In turn, the rookie drew one more target than his veteran teammate, gained nine more receiving yards on the same number of catches and also recorded the game-winning touchdown on a three-yard grab with three seconds remaining. White's solid degree of involvement with Fournette available is encouraging to a degree from a fantasy perspective, but both backs should have a steep climb to meaningful production against the 49ers' league-best run defense on the road in Week 14.

White will welcome back Leonard Fournette (hip) for Monday's game versus the Saints, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Fournette sat out Week 12 due to a hip pointer that he sustained Week 10 against the Seahawks, which allowed White unfettered access to the Buccaneers backfield over most of the team's last two contests. During that span, White racked up 36 carries for 168 yards, nine catches (on nine targets) for 45 yards and no touchdowns. The rookie third-round pick may cede some reps to Fournette in his return, but White's recent success should afford him plenty of work in Week 13.

White drew the start with Leonard Fournette (hip) out of action and delivered nicely as both runner and receiver. The matchup on the ground wasn't as welcoming as it appeared on paper coming in however, as White only gained 29 yards on 13 carries outside of a game-long 35-yard run. Nevertheless, the rookie's stellar work as a receiver led to a very productive fantasy day overall, as well as the second-highest reception tally on the Buccaneers for the day. Even if Fournette is able to suit up for a Week 13 Monday night home divisional matchup against the Saints, it's highly likely White fills the role of top back for that contest.

White is scheduled to make his second consecutive start Sunday against the Browns with Leonard Fournette (hip) having been downgraded from doubtful to out in advance of the contest, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Even before Fournette departed in the fourth quarter of the Buccaneers' last game Week 10 in London against the Seahawks, White appeared to work his way into a timeshare with the veteran back. With Fournette not yet healthy coming out of a Week 11 bye, White looks like he'll be the clear lead runner for Tampa Bay on Sunday, with Ke'Shawn Vaughn and Giovani Bernard offering depth behind him. Though White has displayed some pass-catching chops with 20 receptions for 135 yards on 25 targets this season, Bernard is an accomplished third-down back in his own right. With that in mind, the Buccaneers might not be eager to hand White a true three-down workload Sunday, so his fantasy ceiling this week may be lower in PPR formats. White profiles as a strong option in the majority of leagues nonetheless while he faces off against a Browns defense that has struggled to

White is expected to serve as Tampa Bay's lead running back Sunday against the Browns with Leonard Fournette (hip) listed as doubtful for the contest, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Even if Fournette hadn't exited in the second half of the Buccaneers' last game Week 10 against the Seahawks in Munich due to the hip pointer, White may have pushed his way into at least a timeshare with the veteran back based on how he performed in Germany. Beyond White, the Buccaneers have Ke'Shawn Vaughn on hand to serve as a substitute, while Giovani Bernard (ankle) could be reinstated from injured reserve to serve as an option on passing downs. Even though he didn't draw a target in Munich, White displayed some prowess as a pass catcher in Weeks 4 through 9, when he turned in an 18-128-0 receiving line on 21 targets over a six-game stretch.

The rookie logged just one fewer carry than Leonard Fournette, and he also recorded multiple receptions for the fifth time in the last six games. White's rushing yardage total, modest as it was, also qualified as a career high, and the 23-year-old could be given more opportunities in coming weeks as head coach Todd Bowles and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich look for more ways to spice up a mostly moribund offense.

White rushed four times for 19 yards and brought in all three targets for 24 yards in the Buccaneers' 27-22 loss to the Ravens on Thursday night.

The rookie once again saw a decent role on offense, and he notable matched backfield Leonard Fournette in receptions and targets. However, White actually logged just 15 snaps from scrimmage, a major downturn from the 29 he'd seen four days earlier against the Panthers. Fournette appears likely to remain the clear-cut lead back, but it's also possible head coach Todd Bowles looks to shake things up on his struggling offense following three straight losses and affords White a bigger role in a Week 9 showdown against the Rams a week from Sunday.

White rushed six times for 24 yards and brought in one of two targets for eight yards in the Buccaneers' 21-3 loss to the Panthers on Sunday. He also returned two kickoffs for 46 yards.

White logged two fewer carries than Leonard Fournette but outgained his teammate by five yards. The rookie logged the second-highest snap total of his career as well (29), leaving him just 11 behind Fournette in that category. While his veteran teammate is still in line to continue leading the backfield for the foreseeable future, White has seemingly settled into a serviceable complementary role that appears good for 6-10 touches from scrimmage per game at the moment.

White rushed four times for 12 yards, brought in three of four targets for 11 yards and returned two kickoffs for 54 yards in the Buccaneers' 20-18 loss to the Steelers on Sunday.

White was even more of a second fiddle to Leonard Fournette than in recent games, with his snap count on offense tumbling down to 15 after he'd been at 23 and 30 in Weeks 4 and 5, respectively. Nevertheless, White still logged only one fewer touch than during his season-high participation rate in Week 5, and he seems like an increasingly certain proposition for multiple carries and targets each week after having accomplished that feat in both categories for three consecutive games.

White rushed five times for 14 yards and brought in three of four targets for 28 yards in the Buccaneers' 21-15 win over the Falcons on Sunday. He also returned one kickoff for 18 yards.

White was incorporated into the offense to a solid degree, logging 31 snaps from scrimmage overall. The rookie third-round pick has particularly enjoyed a strong role in the passing game over the last pair of contests, posting an 8-78 line on nine targets in that span. White will remain behind Leonard Fournette for the time being, but he'll potentially have a chance for another similar workload in a Week 6 road matchup against a Steelers team the Buccaneers shouldn't have too much trouble eventually separating from.

White rushed three times for six yards and a touchdown, brought in all five targets for 50 yards, returned two kickoffs for 51 yards and lost a fumble in the Buccaneers' 41-31 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday night.

The rookie logged a season-high 24 snaps (38 percent) from scrimmage and produced plenty with them, scoring his first NFL touchdown from one yard out late in the third quarter and also generating new career highs in receptions and receiving yards. Both Leonard Fournette and White were stymied on the ground, however, and the latter's expanded role in the air attack may have largely been the result of a game script that saw the Buccaneers trail throughout the game. White's fumble on the opening kickoff also set the Chiefs up in prime position for their first touchdown, but the fact the ASU product still saw all the action he did subsequent to that supports the notion both he and the coaching staff have moved past the flub.

White did not log a carry or target in the Buccaneers' 14-12 loss to the Packers on Sunday but did return one kickoff for 20 yards.

White seemingly had the potential to log a few extra touches while spelling Leonard Fournette, who is still dealing with a hamstring injury, but the latter played 91 percent of the offensive snaps Sunday. In contrast, White was in on just six snaps from scrimmage and another 10 on special teams. Head coach Todd Bowles seems content to give Fournette a true lead-back workload thus far, keeping White as a non-factor for fantasy purposes thus far in his nascent career.

White rushed twice for one yard and failed to bring in either of his two targets in the Buccaneers' 20-10 win over the Saints on Sunday.

The rookie ceded almost all the backfield work to Leonard Fournette, who logged a robust 24 carries. White played on nine snaps from scrimmage overall and logged another nine on special teams, and he could be in for a similarly modest role for the foreseeable future as long as Fournette is healthy.

Neither player has an easy task at the moment trying to find running lanes behind an increasingly thin offensive line, as evidenced by White netting minus-7 yards on his first two carries when he entered the game on the Buccaneers' second possession. With each player having their moments this summer, both Vaughn and White could potentially work in an fairly even timeshare in the No. 2 role behind Leonard Fournette to start the season, or head coach Todd Bowles may opt to go with the hotter hand from week to week unless and until one of the two backs separates themselves.

White rushed six times for 19 yards, secured his only target for 16 yards and returned one kickoff for 33 yards in the Buccaneers' 13-3 preseason loss to the Titans on Saturday night. He also lost a fumble.

The rookie was the second back into the game behind Leonard Fournette, and he ended up logging another solid workload after a similarly busy preseason opener. However, his fumble on the Buccaneers' 31-yard line with 5:24 remaining in the first half at the end of his one reception did lead to a Titans field goal. White's competition for the No. 2 running back job, Ke'Shawn Vaughn, recorded a team-high 54 rushing yards on 10 carries, so the job battle appears headed for a final chapter in next Saturday night's preseason finale against the Colts.

White rushed seven times for 32 yards, brought in two of three targets for 13 yards and returned two kickoffs for 43 yards in the Buccaneers' 26-24 preseason loss to the Dolphins on Saturday night.

White was the third running back into the game for the Buccaneers behind Giovani Bernard and Ke'Shawn Vaughn, and he outproduced the latter by four yards with three fewer touches from scrimmage. The rookie gave a rock-solid accounting of himself in his first taste of NFL action, even flashing nicely on special teams with a 26-yard kickoff return. White and Vaughn will continue their summer battle for the No. 2 running back job in next Saturday night's preseason road matchup against the Titans.

White has stood out over the first week of training camp with his size and sure hands, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

The rookie third-round pick is competing with Ke'Shawn Vaughn for the No. 2 running back job this summer, and thus far, it appears White may have the upper hand. The Arizona State alum's early success as a receiver isn't a surprise by any stretch when considering he contributed a 43-456-1 line through the air across 11 games during his final season with the Wildcats. Given Tom Brady's extensive track record of successfully utilizing pass-catching running backs, that trait could serve White especially well in the job battle.

White's versatile skill set could allow him to enjoy a sizable role during his rookie season, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. "He's a good talent, that's why we drafted him," Bucs coach Todd Bowles said. "Leonard is our starter, obviously. We look for White to compete with Vaughn and Gio and we'll see from there. ... He has good size. He has good feet and good speed. But he's capable of spelling Leonard, he's capable of catching a ball."

The investment of a third-round pick in White already speaks to the belief the Buccaneers have in his ability, and both the Arizona State product's college body of work and Bowles' comments indicate there could be plenty of opportunity for him behind primary back Leonard Fournette. With Ronald Jones now in Kansas City and Giovani Bernard primarily suited for a pass-catching/third-down role, White's primary competition for any complementary early-down reps appears to be Ke'Shawn Vaughn, who's yet to truly establish himself after being taken in the third round in his own right in 2020. White's pass-catching chops could also be a significant factor in earning him snaps, with running backs coach Todd McNair noting the rookie's range and catch radius are particularly impressive.

The Buccaneers selected White in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 91st overall.

Ronald Jones' departure in free agency put Tampa Bay in the market for a running back and White is a solid value at this stage of the draft. White has a good frame at 6-foot, 214 pounds but he can get in trouble by running upright at times. Still, that didn't stop him from ripping off chunk yardage during his time at Arizona State. It's a small, two-year sample, but White averaged 6.4 yards per carry over 224 career attempts and ran for 20 scores. He was efficient as a pass-catcher, too, reeling in 51 of 58 targets for 607 yards and two touchdowns. He doesn't have blazing speed (4.48), but it's enough at 214 pounds, and his strong scores in the jumps mean that he has good anchor and burst. Tampa Bay has struggled to find good running backs through the draft in recent years, but perhaps White can buck the trend and secure a role ahead of Ke'Shawn Vaughn.
