Sidelined for Week 13
Tuttle (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tuttle sustained a concussion in Tennessee's Week 12 loss to the Seahawks and didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, so it's no surprise that he'll be sidelined Sunday. The veteran defensive tackle has appeared in 10 games this season, tallying 11 total tackles across 152 defensive snaps. T'Vondre Sweat is expected to play as the Titans' lone nose tackle while Tuttle is out in Week 13.

Being evaluated for concussion
Tuttle is undergoing a concussion evaluation and is questionable to return to Sunday's Week 12 matchup versus Seattle, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tennessee announced late in the third quarter that Tuttle is questionable to return. The veteran nose tackle has worked in a rotational role this season, topping out at a 37 percent defensive snap share in Week 3. James Lynch could see more time on the field if Tuttle is unable to return.

Released by Panthers
Carolina released Tuttle on Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tuttle took a pay cut early March, but he nonetheless won't stick on the Panthers' initial 53-man roster. He suited up for 15 regular-season games with the team in 2024 and totaled 46 tackles (22 solo), three passes defended and one forced fumble. Whether with Carolina or elsewhere in the league, Tuttle will be a candidate to resurface in a depth role this season.

Takes pay cut with Carolina
Tuttle agreed to a restructured contract with the Panthers on Monday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Tuttle is reportedly taking a $3.5 million pay cut to stay with the Panthers. He'll now earn $3 million in 2025, including $500,000 guaranteed. Tuttle started all 15 games in which he appeared last season, registering 46 tackles (22 solo), three pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. Carolina added free-agent pickups Tershawn Wharton and Bobby Brown to the defensive line mix Monday.

Plays increased role in 2024
Tuttle recorded 46 total tackles, three passes defended and one forced fumble across 15 games in 2024.
ANALYSIS
With Derrick Brown (knee) sustaining a season-ending injury in the Week 1 loss to the Saints, Tuttle took on an increased role on the Panthers' defense in 2024. Despite missing two games this season, the 29-year-old interior defensive lineman played 51 more defensive snaps than he did in 2023. Tuttle's role will likely be reduced once Brown returns from injury in 2025; however, the Tennessee product is expected to remain a starter on the Panthers' defense following a relatively productive 2024 campaign.

Returning Sunday
Tuttle (foot) is active Sunday against the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Tuttle hasn't played since Week 2. His return should be a boost to the Panthers' front seven with the Tennessee product locked into a significant role at nose tackle.

Won't play Sunday
Tuttle (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Tuttle will his second straight game. Nick Thurman started at nose tackle in Tuttle's place last week against the Raiders but played just 17 defensive snaps after the Raiders fell way behind and were unable to run the ball while chasing points on the scoreboard.

Misses Thursday's practice
Tuttle (foot) didn't practice Thursday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It appears increasingly likely that Carolina will be without Tuttle for the second consecutive game in Week 4, as the 29-year-old has now opened the Panthers' week of practice with back-to-back DNPs. If Tuttle isn't upgraded to at least limited participation Friday, expect Nick Thurman to serve as Carolina's top nose tackle once again when the Panthers host the Bengals.

Still nursing injury
Tuttle (foot) didn't practice Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Tuttle didn't play in the Panthers' Week 3 win over the Raiders after missing the entire week of practice with a foot issue, and he still appears to be nursing the injury. The 28-year-old defensive tackle will likely need to upgrade to at least limited participation Thursday or Friday in order to suit up in Week 4.

Not playing Sunday
Tuttle (foot) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Tuttle was listed as doubtful Friday after logging as a DNP for all three practices, and he won't travel with the team to Las Vegas. The 28-year-old nose tackle's next chance at suiting up will be Week 4 against the Bengals on Sept. 29. Nick Thurman is the next man up at nose tackle for the Panthers, and he'll anchor the interior of the defensive line alongside Jayden Peevy and A'Shawn Robinson (knee).

Doubtful for Week 3
Tuttle (foot) did not participate in Friday's practice and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
While Tuttle has a shot at playing Sunday, the fact that he has been unable to practice all week means he'll likely have to watch the game from the sidelines. If Tuttle is indeed inactive, Nick Thurman would slide into the starting nose tackle role.

Agrees to deal with Carolina
The Panthers and Tuttle agreed Monday to a three-year, $19.5 million deal, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Tuttle signed with the Saints as an undrafted product out of Tennessee in May of 2019 and totaled 143 tackles, 14 pass defenses, four sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 63 appearances across four seasons. The 27-year-old defensive tackle figures to play a prominent role for the Panthers' defensive line in 2023 and beyond.

Has career day
Tuttle tallied nine tackles (two solo), a half-sack and pass defensed in the Saints' 20-10 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Tuttle's nine tackles were a career high, besting his previous top total of six. Although the effort came in a loss, he was also integral in helping hold Leonard Fournette to just 65 yards on 24 carries. The fourth-year-pro will look to keep rolling in Week 3 against the Panthers.

Signs restricted tender
Tuttle signed his restricted free agent tender Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Tuttle saw his role increase during the 2021 season, and he responded with a career-high 48 tackles. He should retain a significant role along the Saints defensive line in 2022.
Jan 31, 2021
Modest second-season production
Tuttle compiled 28 tackles (17 solo) and two passes defended across 13 regular-season games in 2020.
ANALYSIS
After a promising rookie campaign in 2019, Tuttle improved his tackle numbers and enjoyed a boost in snaps per game, though he disappointingly provided no turnovers or sacks. Heading into his third season, the Tennessee product will look to take another step forward.
Jan 9, 2020
Promising rookie campaign
Tuttle accounted for 18 tackles (eight solo), 2.0 sacks and an interception during the 2019 season.
ANALYSIS
The undrafted free agent out of Tennessee enjoyed moderate playing time as a rookie, taking the field for 347 defensive snaps across 16 games (one start). He displayed some upside with two sacks and a pick and will look to build on a promising inaugural campaign when he returns to New Orleans in 2020.
