Signs with Las Vegas
Edmunds and the Raiders agreed on a contract Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds will head to Las Vegas after spending the entirety of the offseason as a free agent to this point. The safety appeared in six contests with the Jaguars and the Steelers in 2024, recording seven total tackles (five solo), while playing 67 defensive snaps and 82 snaps with the special-teams unit. Edmunds figures to compete with Chris Smith and Hudson Clark for a backup role at free safety behind Isaiah Pola-Mao in 2025 with Las Vegas.

Lands with Chargers
Edmunds signed with the Chargers' practice squad Thursday.
ANALYSIS
He takes the practice-squad roster spot of fellow safety Emany Johnson, who was cut in a corresponding move Thursday. Edmunds is a decent bet to be elevated ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders with all three of Alohi Gilman (hamstring), Elijah Molden (shin) and Marcus Maye (ankle) all battling injuries.

Working out with Bears
Chicago worked out Edmunds (illness) on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds was cut by Pittsburgh ahead of Week 10 as he was dealing with an illness, but it seems he's back in shape for football activities after Week 11. Regular starting safety Jaquan Brisker (concussion) was recently placed on injured reserve, so it makes sense that the Bears are exploring depth options at that position.

Let go by Pittsburgh
The Steelers cut Edmunds (illness) on Saturday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds has been dealing with an illness and had already been deemed out for Sunday's matchup against the Commanders prior to being set loose. Since this move comes after the trade deadline, Edmunds will be subject to waivers. In five games with Pittsburgh this season, the safety tallied seven tackles (five) solo while playing 61 snaps on defense and 82 on special teams.

Won't play against Washington
Edmunds (illness) did not practice Friday and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds has not been able to practice all week due to an illness, and he will be sidelined for Sunday's game. His next chance at suiting up will be Week 11 against the Ravens on Sunday, Nov. 17. Cameron Sutton was reinstated from his eight-game suspension in late October, and he could see more work in dime packages while Edmunds is sidelined.

Finds work in Pittsburgh
The Steelers signed Edmunds off the Jaguars' practice squad Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds failed to make Jacksonville's initial 53-man roster in late August but has since found a home in Pittsburgh, where he spent the first five years of his career. The Virginia Tech product appeared in the Jaguars' Week 1 game, recording no stats while playing just six defensive snaps. He's expected to serve as a depth piece in Pittsburgh's secondary as the season progresses.

Gets opportunity in Jacksonville
The Jaguars signed Edmunds to a contract Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds began the 2023 campaign as a starter for Philadelphia before being dealt to the Titans in Week 7, where his opportunities grew more inconsistent. Across nine games with the Titans he handled over 50 percent of defensive snaps on just one occasion, but contributed heavily on special teams. Now, Edmunds likely profiles to head into the 2024 season as a depth player for Jacksonville.

Role slips in 2023
Edmunds recorded 48 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two passes defensed, one interception and one forced fumble across 16 games with the Eagles and Titans in 2023.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds began the season in a starting role with the Eagles, but he had an inconsistent role prior to being dealt to Tennessee following Week 7. The same inconsistent opportunity followed him in Tennessee, and the result was that Edmunds tallied a career-low 451 defensive snaps and 48 total tackles. He did contribute plenty on special teams, which should help him find a new contract around the league, but he's likely to be penciled into a depth role to begin the 2024 campaign.
Dec 22, 2023
In line to start Week 16
Edmunds is expected to start for the injured Amani Hooker (knee) at strong safety ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hooker seems to have suffered a knee injury over the past week, giving Edmunds the opportunity to make his second start for the Titans. Over the course of the year, the 26-year-old safety has split time between Philadelphia and Tennessee, recording 41 total tackles, including two tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. Edmunds will likely start alongside Elijah Molden in Week 16, per Kuharsky.
Dec 11, 2023
Returns for Week 15
Edmunds is active for Monday's game against the Dolphins, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds was a healthy scratch in the Titans' Week 13 overtime loss to the Colts. He'll provide safety depth behind starters Amani Hooker and K'Von Wallace, though he could cede nickel package snaps to Elijah Molden.
Dec 3, 2023
Missing another game
Edmunds (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds was sidelined by a shoulder injury in Week 12 but he returned to practice fully leading up to Sunday's game against the Colts. Since he is, presumably, available from a health perspective, it appears Edmunds has slipped down the defensive depth chart in Tennessee. Mike Brown and Elijah Molden are potentially playing-time beneficiaries.
Nov 29, 2023
Returns to practice
Edmunds (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds returned to practice Wednesday after missing the team's win over the Panthers last week due to a shoulder injury. The 2018 first-round pick will now return to his role as a special teamer and depth defender.
Nov 26, 2023
Out with shoulder issue
Edmunds (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds picked up the injury in Tennessee's Week 11 loss. He logged two limited practices leading up to Sunday's game against Carolina, so it doesn't appear as if he's set for a long-term absence. K'Von Wallace could see additional time on the field when the Titans opt to play in nickel or dime.
Nov 20, 2023
Logs sack in loss
Edmunds (shoulder) logged five tackles (four solo), including a sack, in Tennessee's 34-14 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds managed to record his first sack of the season before exiting Sunday's loss with a shoulder injury. The 26-year-old has now compiled 11 tackles (nine solo) in four games and his injury status will need to be monitored heading into the team's upcoming matchup with the Panthers.
Nov 19, 2023
Suffers shoulder injury
Edmunds suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday's 34-14 loss to the Jaguars, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds left the Titans' disappointing loss a little worse for wear and his status moving forward is worth monitoring. If he's forced to miss any game action, Mike Brown stands to see an increase in workload.
Oct 23, 2023
Flipped to Tennessee in Byard deal
The Titans acquired Edmunds as part of the Kevin Byard trade Monday, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Titans receive Edmunds and 2024 fifth- and sixth-round picks in the deal. After spending his first five seasons in Pittsburgh, Edmunds inked a one-year deal with the Eagles last offseason and lasted seven games with the team before GM Howie Roseman sought and found an upgrade. In Tennessee, Edmunds gives the Titans an experienced safety to fill Byard's shoes for the remainder of the season.
Sep 23, 2023
Set to play Monday
Edmunds (illness) was a full participant in Saturday's practice and does not carry an injury designation ahead of Monday's matchup against the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds did not practice Thursday but is seemingly over the illness that forced him out. He has registered nine tackles (seven solo) so far this season and has played in 61 defensive snaps while operating behind Justin Evans and Reed Blankenship at safety.
Sep 21, 2023
Misses practice with illness
Edmunds (illness) didn't practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds has three more days to get healthy ahead of Monday night's Week 3 date with the Bucs. He played 46 percent of the defensive snaps across the first two games, registering nine tackles and a forced fumble.
Sep 16, 2023
Forces fumble in win
Edmunds tallied six tackles (five solo) and one forced fumble in Thursday's 34-28 victory over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds' forced fumble was his first of the season. He was on the field for 51 defensive plays (93 percent). The has seen an increased role through two games due to the absence of Reed Blankenship (ribs).
Sep 12, 2023
Logs three tackles in win
Edmunds tallied three tackles (two solo) in Sunday's season opening victory over the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds provided depth on defense to the tune of 10 snaps (13 percent). He was also an active participant on special teams, as he logged 19 snaps (66 percent) in that department. He will continue backing up Justin Evans at strong safety heading into Week 2.
Mar 24, 2023
Inks deal with Eagles
Edmunds signed a one-year contract with the Eagles on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds is now in line to replace C.J. Gardner-Johnson -- who signed with the Lions on March 19 -- as Philadelphia's starting strong safety for at least the 2023 campaign. The 26-year-old served as a starter in Pittsburgh since he joined the league in 2018, and he most recently amassed 70 tackles, five passes defensed and two sacks across 15 games played this past season.
Jan 11, 2023
Remains effective in 2022
Edmunds generated 70 tackles (41 solo), including two sacks, along with five pass defenses over 15 games in 2022.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds missed two games due to injury in 2022, but he logged at least 70 tackles for the fourth time over his first five professional seasons while also posting a career-high mark in sacks. The 25-year-old is slated to become an unrestricted free agent during the offseason, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the Steelers express interest in bringing him back given the impact he's had over his five seasons with the team.
Dec 29, 2022
Fully practices Thursday
Edmunds (hamstring) was a full participant in Thursday's practice session, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds was unavailable last week against the Raiders and didn't practice Wednesday, but he should be available Sunday against the Ravens after practicing in a full capacity Thursday. Over his last six appearances, he's racked up 27 tackles (15 solo), including a sack.
Dec 24, 2022
Inactive Saturday
Edmunds (hamstring) is inactive for Saturday night's game against the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds didn't practice Tuesday through Thursday, and he'll sit this one out, which should lead to added Week 16 snaps for Damontae Kazee and Miles Killebrew. Edmunds will thus target a potential return to action in Week 17 against the Ravens.
Dec 22, 2022
Could sit out Week 16
Edmunds (hamstring) is considered questionable to play Saturday against the Raiders, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds did not practice during Week 16 prep while dealing with a hamstring injury that he presumably picked up during Sunday's win over the Panthers. However, he appears to still have a decent chance of playing Saturday against Las Vegas, and he should retain a starting role at strong safety when available. Otherwise, Miles Killebrew and Damontae Kazee will be next in line for increased snaps alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Dec 19, 2022
Tallies five stops
Edmunds recorded five tackles (four solo) in Sunday's game against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds has been a consistent presence for this Pittsburgh defense of late and came away with his usual production. He's now racked up 26 tackles (15 solo) and one sack over his last five contests.
Dec 12, 2022
Surpasses 50 tackles in 2022
Edmunds secured nine tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 16-14 defeat to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds came one stop tackle shy of tying his season high set Week 6 versus Tampa Bay. The 25-year-old also played every defensive snap alongside free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick for the first time since Week 7, as the Steelers had to focus on slowing down Baltimore's 42 rushing attempts. Edmunds is currently on track for one of the least productive campaigns of his five-year career, totaling 55 tackles and three passes defended after his first 12 games in 2022.
Oct 19, 2022
Leads team in tackles
Edmunds tallied 10 tackles (six solo) during the Steelers' 20-18 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds missed Pittsburgh's Week 5 loss to the Bills due to a concussion, but he was on the field for every defensive snap Sunday and had his best performance of the season. Over his first five appearances of the 2022 campaign, he's totaled 23 tackles (15 solo) and a pass defense.
Oct 14, 2022
Cleared for Week 6
Edmunds doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's contest against Tampa Bay, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds suffered a concussion during Week 4 and was ruled out for Week 5, but he'll make his return in Week 6 after logging three straight full practices. While the Steelers will get Edmunds back, they'll be without fellow safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (knee), along cornerbacks Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring), Cameron Sutton (hamstring) and Levi Wallace (concussion).
Oct 12, 2022
Makes return to practice
Edmunds (concussion) was a full participant at practice Wednesday ahead of Sunday's game versus Tampa Bay, Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds was forced to miss Pittsburgh's loss at Buffalo in Week 5 as he recovered from a concussion he suffered Week 4, but he now appears to be on track to play versus the Buccaneers on Sunday. If he remains active at practice Thursday and Friday, he should re-establish himself as the Steelers' second starting safety alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick in Week 6.
Oct 11, 2022
Still in protocol
Edmunds remains in the concussion protocol Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds' status for Week 6 is no sure thing, as he hasn't yet resumed practicing since suffering a concussion versus the Jets in Week 4. Tre Norwood will stand to remain in a starting role until Edmunds returns to the field.
Oct 8, 2022
Out for Week 5
Edmunds (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Bills, Burt Lauten reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds exited Week 4's loss to the Jets after suffering a concussion. The starting safety has logged 12 tackles and one pass break up through his first three games of the season. Tre Norwood will likely step in as the Steelers starting strong safety as Edmunds will sit Sunday's contest against Buffalo out.
Oct 7, 2022
Labeled questionable for Sunday
Edmunds (concussion) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Bills, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds was diagnosed with a concussion during the team's Week 4 loss to the Jets and didn't practice Wednesday. However, he was able to log limited sessions Thursday and Friday, giving him a chance to play Sunday. However, if the starting safety isn't able to play, Tre Norwood, who recorded seven tackles over 42 defensive snaps in Edmunds' absence against the Jets, would likely step into an expanded role against Buffalo.
Oct 6, 2022
Back at practice Thursday
Edmunds (concussion) was listed as a limited participant on the Steelers' injury report Thursday, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports
ANALYSIS
Edmunds exited Pittsburgh's Week 4 loss to the Jets after being diagnosed with a concussion, leaving him sidelined during practice Wednesday as well. The 25-year-old recorded 12 tackles and one pass defended while playing almost every defensive snap over the first three weeks of the season. If Edmunds is unable to clear protocols before Sunday's game against Buffalo, expect Tre Norwood -- seven tackles over 42 defensive snaps in Week 4 -- to step in as Pittsburgh's starting strong safety.
Oct 2, 2022
Enters protocols
Edmunds (concussion) is out from the remainder of Sunday's game with the Jets, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds' exit will be a blow to the Steelers secondary in the second half. In his absence, Miles Killebrew will likely take over at strong safety.
Apr 22, 2022
Re-signs with Pittsburgh
Edmunds is slated to sign a one-year, $2.5 million deal to remain with the Steelers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
As a result, the 2018 first-rounder, who turned 25 in January, is on track to reprise his role as the Steelers' starting strong safety, alongside free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Edmunds is coming off a 2021 campaign which logged 89 tackles and two picks over the course of 17 games, all starts.
Apr 22, 2022
Expected to re-sign with Pittsburgh
Edmunds is expected to re-sign with the Steelers on Friday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds was drafted by the Steelers in the first round of the 2018 Draft and played a critical role in each of his first four seasons in the league, totaling 340 tackles, 21 pass deflections, five interceptions, three sacks and one fumble recovery. Barring a late chance of plans, Edmunds figures to garner his usual role for Pittsburgh's defense during the 2022 campaign.
Jan 10, 2022
Records interception Sunday
Edmunds logged three solo tackles, an interception and three pass defenses in Sunday's 16-13 OT win over Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds' three tackles matched his lowest total of the season, but he recorded his first interception since Week 3. The 24-year-old appeared in every game during the regular season and recorded 89 tackles (63 solo), a sack, two interceptions and six pass defenses.
Jan 6, 2022
Full participant Thursday
Edmunds (groin) was a full participant in Thursday's practice session, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds was limited Wednesday after he suffered a groin injury in Monday's win over the Browns. However, he should be available Sunday against Baltimore after he fully participated in practice Friday.
Jan 4, 2022
Picks up groin injury Monday
Edmunds suffered a groin injury during Monday's win over the Browns, Missi Matthews of the Steelers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds played all 71 of the Steelers' defensive snaps and recorded five tackles (one solo), but he apparently picked up a groin injury that may impact his status for Week 18. Pittsburgh's practice reports this week will give a better sense of whether the 2018 first-round pick will be available against the Ravens on Sunday.
Dec 22, 2021
Racks up 10 tackles
Edmunds recorded 10 tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 19-13 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds has been a consistent contributor for the Steelers since the team's Week 7 bye, and he racked up a season-high 10 tackles in Week 15. Across the last eight games, he now has 43 tackles (34 solo), a sack and two pass defenses.
Sep 27, 2021
Records interception in Week 3
Edmunds recorded five tackles (two solo) and one interception in Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Edmunds has recorded at least five tackles in each of the first three games of the season, and he logged the Steelers' first interception of 2021 in Sunday's loss. He was on the field for 79 percent of the team's defensive snaps in Week 3 after playing every snap in each of the first two weeks, but he remained productive and has now racked up 16 tackles (11 solo) and one interception to begin the year.
Aug 23, 2020
Sitting out practice
Edmunds missed a second straight practice Saturday, Dale Lolley of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear what's bothering Edmunds, but two days on the sidelines is certainly concerning. For the time being, Jordan Dangerfield and Curtis Riley will fill in at strong safety, but that's a steep downgrade. The 22-year-old Edmunds already has two years of starting duties under his belt and recorded 105 tackles last year. Edmunds has plenty of time to recover, though, as the Steelers are still three weeks from their season opener.
