Keep up with the latest injuries from the Colts vs Jaguars game on Sunday with our National Football League injury report.Dec 1, 2025
Secures lone target
Patrick caught his lone target for 11 yards during Sunday's 25-3 win against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Patrick played just seven offensive snaps, which ranked fifth among Jacksonville's wideouts in the blowout victory. The 32-year-old played at least 29 offensive snaps in each of the previous three games but was relegated to a depth role Sunday with Brian Thomas (ankle) returning to action. Patrick has caught just eight passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games this year.
Nov 24, 2025
No catches in OT win
Patrick failed to catch any of his four targets during Sunday's 27-24 overtime win against the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old hauled in a season-high three receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown last week versus the Chargers, but he was unable to get on the same page as quarterback Trevor Lawrence on Sunday. Patrick hasn't been consistently involved in Jacksonville's passing game and has seven catches for 83 yards and two touchdowns through 10 contests this year.
Nov 16, 2025
Hauls in one-yard TD pass
Patrick finished Sunday's 35-6 win over the Chargers with three catches (on four targets) for 20 yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Patrick saw an expanded role on offense for a second straight game due to the absence of Brian Thomas (ankle). Patrick finished Sunday's game with the second-most targets on the Jaguars behind Jakobi Meyers (six), and the former helped give the Jaguars a three-score lead early in the fourth quarter, when he caught a one-yard touchdown pass from Trevor Lawrence. Thomas was limited in practice during Week 11 prep, so Patrick's snap count on offense would take a hit in Week 12 against the Cardinals on Sunday, Nov. 23 if the former is cleared to return.
Nov 5, 2025
Good to go for Week 10
Patrick (groin) was a full participant at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Patrick appears to be all set to return to action in Week 10 against the Texans after missing the team's Week 9 win over the Raiders due to a groin injury. With Brian Thomas (ankle) and Dyami Brown (concussion) banged up and Jakobi Meyers still acclimating himself with the Jaguars, it's possible that Patrick steps into a larger role versus Houston on Sunday.
Oct 31, 2025
Ruled out for Week 9
Patrick (groin) won't play Sunday against Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Patrick injured his groin against the Rams in Week 7. The Jaguars were on bye last week, but that didn't provide enough time for Patrick to fully recover, though he did manage to log a trio of limited practices this week. Austin Trammell was signed to the active roster off Jacksonville's practice squad Friday and could get some offensive snaps in Patrick's absence.
Oct 29, 2025
Limited at practice Wednesday
Patrick (groin) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Patrick hurt his groin during the Jaguars' last game before their Week 8 bye versus the Rams, and now his availability for Week 9 is in jeopardy because of it. He'll have two more chances to manage a full practice before Jacksonville publishes its final practice report of the week Friday.
Oct 19, 2025
Ruled out due to groin injury
Patrick has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Rams due to a groin injury, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick sustained the injury in the third quarter, and the injury was deemed severe enough by medical staff to keep the veteran wide receiver sidelined for the rest of Sunday's game. Parker Washington and Dyami Brown will see more rotational snaps at wide receiver with Patrick done for the day. Patrick will finish with one catch for 22 yards on one target.
Oct 13, 2025
Secures first TD of 2025
Patrick caught his lone target for a 26-yard touchdown during Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
The veteran wideout was once again minimally involved in Jacksonville's passing game, but he took advantage of his lone target for his first touchdown of the campaign. Patrick has received exactly one target in five straight contests and doesn't have much fantasy utility in his current role as a depth receiver.
Sep 29, 2025
Just one catch vs. San Francisco
Patrick caught his only target for minus-1 yard in Sunday's 26-21 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Patrick operated as Jacksonville's No. 5 wideout once again Sunday, playing just 19 offensive snaps. The veteran wide receiver has now caught two of his three targets for 15 yards over four games this season. He's likely to remain a depth option in the Jaguars' wide receiver corps ahead of a Week 5 matchup against the Chiefs.
Sep 22, 2025
Quiet in Week 3
Patrick caught his only target for 16 yards during Sunday's 17-10 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
The 31-year-old wideout from Utah has seen his snap share rise each week in Jacksonville, playing a season-high 21 offensive snaps Sunday. However, Patrick still operated as the team's No. 5 wide receiver and saw just one target, suggesting he's a minimal part of the offensive gameplan. He's expected to continue playing behind Brian Thomas, Travis Hunter, Dyami Brown (shoulder) and Parker Washington in a Week 4 matchup against the 49ers.
Sep 9, 2025
Fills depth role in Jags debut
Patrick didn't receive a target during Sunday's 26-10 win against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
The 31-year-old was acquired by the Jaguars in late August and played seven offensive snaps in his team debut, which ranked fifth among Jacksonville's wideouts. Patrick delivered back-to-back seasons of 700-plus receiving yards with Denver in 2020 and 2021, but after a couple lost seasons due to injuries, he had a lesser role in Detroit last year and appears poised to work as more of a reserve wideout for Jacksonville in 2025.
Aug 27, 2025
Traded to Jacksonville
The Lions are trading Patrick to Jacksonville for a sixth-round pick, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
This seemingly clears the way for rookie Isaac TeSlaa to become Detroit's No. 3 receiver after scoring three touchdowns during the preseason. Patrick, meanwhile, likely will start off fifth on Jacksonville's depth chart at wide receiver, behind Brian Thomas, Travis Hunter, Dyami Brown and Parker Washington, although
Mar 14, 2025
Staying in Detroit
Patrick re-signed with Detroit on Friday.
ANALYSIS
The Lions signed Patrick to their practice squad in August, shortly after he was released by the Broncos. He ended up handling the No. 3 receiver role for most of the season, catching 33 of 44 targets for 394 yards and three TDs in 16 regular-season games. A return to mainstream fantasy relevance is highly unlikely for the 31-year-old, but he should at least compete for the third or fourth WR spot in Detroit again.
Jan 19, 2025
One catch in loss
Patrick caught one of four targets for 22 yards in Saturday's 45-31 NFC divisional-round playoff loss to the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Patrick garnered his highest amount of targets since Week 15, but he failed to have much of an impact against Washington. The wide receiver signed with the Lions in late September, appearing in 16 regular-season contests as well as Saturday's playoff loss. Patrick will enter the offseason as a free agent and it's unclear if he'll be back in Detroit next season.
Jan 6, 2025
Two catches during SNF
Patrick caught both of his targets for 15 yards in Sunday night's 31-9 win over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Patrick got back in the receptions column of the stat sheet, securing two catches in Week 18 after going two games without one. The wide receiver limped to the finish of the regular season from a production standpoint, often operating as an afterthought on the loaded Detroit offense. Patrick finished the 2024 regular season with 33 catches on 44 targets for 394 yards and three touchdowns over 16 games with the Lions. The wideout will look to be more involved on offense when the Lions return to action in two weeks for the NFC divisional round in the playoffs.
Dec 31, 2024
No targets in Week 17
Patrick did not garner a target while reeling in a two-point conversion in Monday night's 40-34 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Patrick went without a catch for the second week in a row, though he did secure a two-point conversion on a pass from Jared Goff early in the third quarter. After compiling 19 receptions for 202 yards and three touchdowns over a five game stretch in November and December, Patrick has seen his production nearly vanish as the Lions have launched into the stretch run of the regular season. He remains their No. 3 wide receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, but he is clearly not a major cog in Detroit's impressive offense.
Dec 23, 2024
Catchless in Chicago
Patrick failed to catch his only target in Sunday's 34-17 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was blanked for the first time since Week 10, garnering just one target after seeing 15 combined targets over the team's last two games. His role as the team's No. 3 wide receiver remains in tact, but with so many mouths to feed in Detroit's offense, Patrick has seen his production fluctuate greatly from week to week. Through 14 games in 2024 with the Lions, the wide receiver has caught 31 of 42 targets for 379 yards and three touchdowns.
Dec 16, 2024
Finds paydirt again in Week 15
Patrick caught four of eight targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 48-42 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Patrick found the end zone for a second week in a row, reeling in a 12-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter. He has now caught 19 of 26 targets for 202 yards and three touchdowns over the team's last five games. Patrick has certainly settled into a consistent role as Detroit's No. 3 wide receiver down the stretch in 2024.
Dec 6, 2024
Two touchdowns in win
Patrick caught six of seven targets for 43 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday's 34-31 win over the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was finally able to reach the end zone for the first time since the 2021 season, scoring on a three-yard catch in the third quarter and a one-yard snag in the fourth quarter. The 31-year-old has carved out a solid role for himself as the undisputed No. 3 option behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams at wide receiver, catching 15 of 18 targets for 172 yards and two scores over the last four games. On the season, Patrick has 27 receptions for 349 yards and two touchdowns over 12 games with Detroit.
Nov 28, 2024
Two catches Thursday
Patrick caught two of three targets for 48 yards in Thursday's 23-20 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was able to record multiple receptions for the third game in a row, most notably notching a 30-yard catch in the second quarter. The wide receiver has now compiled nine catches for 129 yards over the last three contests while operating as the team's No. 3 option behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.
Nov 24, 2024
Gains 55 yards Sunday
Patrick brought in all four of his targets for 55 yards in Sunday's 24-6 win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Patrick saw a little extra work with Kalif Raymond (foot) exiting the contest in the second half. The 31-year-old Patrick was already operating as the Lions' third receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, so his role is unlikely to alter much if Raymond is unable to go in Week 13. Patrick should be considered a deep-league option for Thursday's holiday matchup against the Bears.
Nov 18, 2024
Three catches in blowout win
Patrick caught three of four targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 52-6 win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Patrick's three catches were his highest total since Week 6 versus Dallas while the four targets matched a season high for the 30-year-old. The wide receiver has carved out a spot as Detroit's No. 3 option behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, but opportunities are few and far between. On the season, Patrick has caught 15 of 19 targets for 203 yards over nine games.
Nov 11, 2024
No targets in Week 10
Patrick failed to garner a target in Sunday night's 26-23 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Patrick saw his workload go down in Week 10, as he played only 48 percent of the team's offensive snaps after seeing more than 70 percent in back-to-back games. The return of Jameson Williams from a two-game suspension dropped Patrick back into a depth role at wide receiver, although he posted just a 2-12-0 line on three targets in the two games Williams missed. Sunday marked the first time in eight games this season that Patrick failed to see a target.
Nov 4, 2024
Two receptions in Week 9
Patrick caught both of his targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 24-14 win over the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was on the field for a season-high 42 offensive snaps in Week 9, but he was ultimately held to a miniscule 12 yards on two catches. The wide receiver was unable to capitalize on Jameson Williams (suspension) being unavailable for two contests, catching two of three targets over the last two weeks. With Williams set to return in Week 10 against the Texans, Patrick will continue to have little-to-no fantasy value moving forward.
Oct 21, 2024
Two catches in Week 7
Patrick caught both of his targets for 25 yards in Sunday's 31-29 win over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was able to record his third straight multi-catch performance in Week 7, though his 25 yards were his lowest total during that stretch. With the Lions' offense stacked with top-tier pass catchers like Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Sam LaPorta, Patrick remains an uninspiring fantasy option heading into Week 8. The wide receiver has now caught 10 of 12 targets for 165 yards in five games with Detroit this season.
Oct 14, 2024
Three catches in win
Patrick caught all three of his targets for 68 yards in Sunday's 47-9 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Patrick has established himself as the No. 3 wide receiver for the Lions this season, setting season highs in catches and yards against Dallas. The 30-year-old has yet to find the end zone this year and he came up one yard short with an eight-yard reception in the second quarter, which was originally called a touchdown on the field before being overturned. Patrick has now compiled eight catches for 140 yards over four games with Detroit in 2024.
Oct 1, 2024
Two catches in Week 4
Patrick caught both of his targets for 54 yards in Monday's 42-29 win over the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was officially signed to the active roster last week and he made the most of his limited opportunities in Week 4. He reeled in a 23-yard catch in the third quarter and then a 29-yard reception in the final period. Patrick's upside remains limited behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams at wide receiver, but he has now compiled five catches on seven targets for 72 yards in three games this season.
Sep 24, 2024
Signs to Detroit's active roster
The Lions signed Patrick to the active roster Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was elevated for each of Detroit's last two regular-season games, in which he caught a combined three of five targets for 20 yards. He increased his workload to 50 percent of offensive snaps versus Arizona in Week 2, and it looks like Patrick has now officially surpassed Kalif Raymond as the Lions' No. 3 wide receiver. He'll look to make an impact behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson William during Monday's game against the Seahawks.
Sep 23, 2024
Goes back to practice squad
Patrick reverted to the Lions' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
For a second consecutive week, Detroit elevated Patrick from the practice squad, and he remained a regular in the offense. His snap share increased from 39 percent against the Buccaneers in Week 2 to 50 percent Sunday at Arizona, but his output fell from 2-12-0 on four targets to one catch (on one target) for eight yards. Still, Patrick seems to be running as the Lions' No. 3 WR behind starters Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, so he likely will make his way back to the active roster next Monday versus the Seahawks.
Sep 22, 2024
Secures catch in win
Patrick reeled in his only target for eight yards in Sunday's 20-13 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was elevated from the practice squad for the second game in a row, failing to make a major splash versus Arizona. The 30-year-old operated as a distant No. 3 option at wide receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, who combined for 11 targets. Patrick will look to earn another shot with the active roster, which could come as soon as Week 4 against the Seahawks on Monday Night Football.
Sep 21, 2024
Elevated for second time
Detroit elevated Patrick from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was elevated for the Lions' Week 2 game against the Buccaneers, during which he played 32 snaps on offense and caught two passes (on four targets) for 12 yards. The Lions will be able to elevate Patrick one more time following Sunday's game against the Cardinals, after which they would have to sign the 30-year-old wide receiver to the active roster should they wish for him to continue to play in Detroit.
Sep 16, 2024
Heads back to practice squad
Patrick reverted to the Lions' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers marked Patrick's first game action since Jan. 8, 2022. Since then, he endured back-to-back season-ending injuries that wiped away the 2022 and 2023 campaigns entirely. Patrick played a modest 39 percent snap share and turned it into two catches (on three targets) for 12 yards, a workload that he may be able to sustain in the short term with WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown (lower leg) and Isaiah Williams (abdomen) tending to injuries at the moment.
Sep 16, 2024
Reels in pair of receptions
Patrick caught two of three targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was elevated to the active roster prior to Sunday's matchup, most notably reeling in a 10-yard catch in the second quarter. The Lions are thin at wide receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams and it's possible that Patrick could emerge as a reliable option for the team. The wide receiver was let go by the Broncos in late August and he's looking to carve out a consistent role for himself with Detroit.
Sep 14, 2024
Elevated from practice squad
Detroit elevated Patrick from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
ANALYSIS
After failing to make the Broncos' 53-man roster at the conclusion of training camp, Patrick opted to sign with the Lions' practice squad Aug. 27. He will give Detroit depth at wide receiver after Isaiah Williams was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bucs due to an abdomen injury. Patrick appeared in 16 regular-season games for the Broncos in 2023 and finished with 53 catches (on 85 targets) for 734 yards and five touchdowns.
Aug 27, 2024
Joining Detroit's practice squad
Patrick is set to sign with Detroit's practice squad, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Broncos released Patrick on Tuesday after giving him a lot of work with their first-team offense throughout the summer, making him a free agent and eligible to sign with any team. He could perhaps challenge Kalif Raymond for the No. 3 receiver role in Detroit at some point this fall, but a return to fantasy relevance still feels like a long shot for a 31-year-old wideout coming off major, season-ending injuries in back-to-back years (ACL tear in 2022, Achilles' rupture in 2023). Even at his best, Patrick never had more than 85 targets, 53 catches, 742 receiving yards or six TDs in any one season.
Aug 27, 2024
Let go by Denver
The Broncos released Patrick on Tuesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite the veteran wideout reportedly having had a solid training camp, the Broncos have parted ways with the 30-year-old, who's bouncing back from a pair of injury-plagued seasons. Patrick should, however, catch on with another team looking for pass-catching depth in the coming days.
Aug 26, 2024
Stint with Denver about to end
The Broncos have informed Patrick that they plan to release him if they are unable to arrange a trade to send the wideout elsewhere, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick, who last saw regular-season action in 2021, appears to have moved past the serious injuries that derailed his last two campaigns. Despite the veteran wideout having had a solid training camp, the Broncos now seem poised to moved on from the 30-year-old. Patrick's looming departure should pave the way for Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin to see added opportunities alongside veteran pass catchers Courtland Sutton and Josh Reynolds.
Aug 19, 2024
First TD since Week 15 of 2021
Patrick caught all four of his targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-2 preseason win over the Packers.
ANALYSIS
All of Patrick's production came in two drives alongside rookie quarterback Bo Nix to start the game. He accounted for half of Nix's eight completions, including a two-yard touchdown to cap both players' time in the game, which marked Patrick's first trip to the end zone in an NFL game since Week 15 of the 2021 regular season. Patrick finally looks healthy after missing the last two seasons due to a torn ACL followed by a torn Achilles, and he has a chance to carve out a prominent role in a Broncos receiving corps with an unsettled depth chart behind No. 1 receiver Courtland Sutton. Patrick's budding chemistry with Nix is encouraging considering Nix is the favorite to start the majority of Denver's games at quarterback in 2024.
Aug 12, 2024
Reels in one catch
Patrick caught his lone target for 14 yards in Sunday's 34-30 preseason win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Patrick, who has not played in a regular season game since 2021, made his return for the team's preseason opener Sunday. With the torn left Achilles injury from last July behind him, the veteran wideout played 11 snaps in the contest and reeled in his only target. Heading into the 2024 campaign, Patrick will look to get back to his role as a sure-handed, reliable playmaker in Denver's offense. However, he'll face competition for targets behind No. 1 receiver Courtland Sutton, as second-year speedster Marvin Mims and new addition Josh Reynolds should contend for playing time.
Aug 6, 2024
Depth chart standing posted
Patrick is listed as a starter on the Broncos' initial unofficial depth chart, Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
When it comes to preseason depth charts posted by NFL teams, listings often need to be taken with a grain of salt, and in the case of Denver's initial version, it's notable that no rookie (including QB Bo Nix) is listed higher than third-string. With regard to Patrick, it's encouraging that the 30-year-old -- who last saw regular season action in 2021 -- appears to have moved past the serious injuries that derailed his last two campaigns. That said, it remains to be seen what his role might be come Week 1, with Marvin Mims, Josh Reynolds and rookie Troy Franklin all vying for slotting behind top WR Courtland Sutton. In terms of ADP and consensus rankings, Mims and Franklin are generally next up on the radar of fantasy drafters.
Jun 14, 2024
Moves past injury
Patrick, who is moving past last summer's Achilles injury, looked healthy and sharp during the Broncos' mandatory minicamp this week, Jon Heath of the USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
The report notes that Patrick -- who sustained a torn left Achilles late last July -- was one of the team's standout performers during Tuesday's session. As the coming campaign approaches, it remains to be seen what Patrick's role in Denver's offense will be, especially given that the 30-year-old last saw regular-season action in 2021. With Jerry Jeudy no longer in the mix, however, the pecking order behind top wideout Courtland Sutton has yet to be determined, which sets the stage for Patrick to vye for slotting in the coming months with Josh Reynolds, Troy Franklin, Marvin Mims, Lil'Jordan Humphrey, Brandon Johnson and Devaughn Vele.
May 23, 2024
On field for OTAs
Patrick (Achilles) is participating in Thursday's OTAs session, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick continues to work his way back from the left Achilles tear that cost him the entire 2023 season. As an ACL tear also wiped out his 2022 campaign, the 30-year-old wideout now hasn't suited up for an NFL game since 2021, and he likely would've been cut this offseason had he not agreed to a pay cut. Health permitting, there's opportunity for Patrick to carve out a role in Denver's wide receiver corps, which gets thin behind Courtland Sutton. The other top candidates to start in three-wide sets are Josh Reynolds, Marvin Mims and Troy Franklin.
Mar 8, 2024
Accepts pay cut
Patrick (Achilles) and the Broncos have an agreement to alter his contract for 2024, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The first two seasons of Patrick's three-year, $30 million contract were wiped out by severe injuries during training camp -- an ACL tear in 2022 and then a torn Achilles' tendon in 2023. He's now 30 years old and entering the final year of the extension, so he presumably would've been released if he hadn't agreed to lower his $9.5 million base salary for 2024. While never a high-volume pass catcher, Patrick had 742 yards and six TDs on 79 targets in 2020 (64.6 percent catch rate, 14.5 YPC, 9.4 YPT), followed by 734 yards and five TDs on 85 targets in 2021 (62.4 percent, 13.8 YPC, 8.6 YPT).
Feb 20, 2024
Possible cap casualty
Patrick (Achilles) is a strong candidate to be released this offseason, Nick Kosmider of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick has twice suffered season-ending injuries in training camp since signing a three-year, $30 million contract in Nov. 2021. He's now entering the final year of the deal and has a non-guaranteed $9.5 million base salary for what will be his age-30/31 season. It is possible Patrick accepts a pay cut to stay in Denver and attempt his return from the torn Achilles' tendon he suffered in August.
Aug 2, 2023
Lands on IR
Patrick, who suffered a torn Achilles tendon during Monday's practice, was placed on IR by the Broncos on Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
As a result, Patrick is set to miss a second consecutive season. With Denver also having waived KJ Hamler with a non-football illness designation Monday, look for 2023 second-rounder Marvin Mims to handle an expanded role in the team's passing offense alongside top wideouts, Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton.
Aug 1, 2023
Achilles tear confirmed
Coach Sean Payton confirmed Tuesday that Patrick sustained a torn Achilles on Monday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The 29-year-old wideout will miss a second consecutive season after an ACL tear last summer wiped out his 2022. Patrick will try to make it back next year for the final season of the three-year, $30 million extension he signed in 2021.
Jul 31, 2023
Reportedly tears Achilles
An MRI reportedly revealed that Patrick suffered a complete tear of his Achilles on Monday, according to Mike Klis of 9News Denver.
ANALYSIS
Assuming Klis' report is confirmed, Patrick would be in line to miss the coming season, a context that represents a major hit to a Denver pass-catching corps that will also be without KJ Hamler, who was waived with a non-football illness designation Monday. The duo's looming absence paves the way for 2023 second-rounder Marvin Mims to assume an expanded role alongside the team's top wideouts, Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton.
Jul 31, 2023
Torn Achilles feared
Patrick likely sustained a torn left Achilles during Monday's practice, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
At nearly the same point of the training-camp schedule last year, Patrick tore the ACL in his right knee, which required surgery shortly thereafter. He was able to run routes by the spring and participate in team drills during mandatory minicamp in June, but the injury bug bit him again Monday, when he was carted off the field following a non-contact injury. With Patrick poised to miss a second straight season, the Broncos will turn to some combination of KJ Hamler (pectoral), Marvin Mims (hamstring), Marquez Callaway and Kendall Hinton behind the top WR duo of Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton.
Jul 31, 2023
Getting MRI on Achilles injury
Patrick is being evaluated for a left Achilles injury and is scheduled to get an MRI after exiting practice Monday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was carted off after suffering a non-contact injury Monday and needed crutches to get around the facility. Initial testing revealed an Achilles injury, and the MRI results should determine its severity. This could be the second straight year that Patrick has suffered a significant injury in training camp, as he missed the entire 2022 season after tearing the ACL in his right knee.
Jul 31, 2023
Carted off after non-contact injury
Patrick suffered a non-contact injury to his lower left leg in practice Monday and was carted off, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick had been a full participant in team drills after having recently worked his way back from a torn ACL in his right knee that cost him the entire 2022 season. The wide receiver has sustained yet another injury early in training camp, but it's too early to determine the exact nature or severity of this injury, which isn't in the same leg as his previous one. Per Palmer, Patrick needed crutches to enter the facility after Monday's injury.
Jun 19, 2023
Participated in team drills at OTAs
Patrick (knee) participated in full team drills at OTAs and minicamp, The Athletic's Nick Kosmider reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick tore his ACL early in training camp last year and missed the entirety of the 2022 season. He now seems to be at, or near, 100 percent and should continue to be full go ahead for camp next month. Patrick is expected to be a fixture in three-wide sets for the Broncos alongside Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy. Patrick and Russell Wilson had developed a noticeable chemistry last offseason prior to the receiver's season-ending injury. It will be interesting to see how targets are distributed this year.
Apr 3, 2023
Back to running routes
Patrick told Steve Smith Sr. that he's been sprinting and running routes, per Ben Swanson of denverbroncos.com. "At this point, I'm cleared to do everything," Patrick said last week. "At this point, I'm just doing repetition to get myself ready to play in a game."
ANALYSIS
Patrick suffered an ACL tear Aug. 2 and then had surgery Aug. 8, giving him 13 months to rehab before Week 1 of 2023. Broncos coach George Paton said in late February that he expects Patrick to be 100 percent healthy for the start of the season, and it now sounds like the 29-year-old wideout may even manage some level of participation in spring practices. While trade rumors regarding fellow Broncos WRs Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton haven't entirely died down, Patrick currently profiles as the No. 3 receiver in Denver, likely ahead of 2020 second-round pick KJ Hamler (pectoral) and free-agent addition Marquez Callaway.

Expected to be 100 percent for 2023
Broncos head coach George Paton said Tuesday that Patrick (knee) will be 100 percent for the 2023 campaign, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick suffered a torn ACL during an August practice last year and underwent season-ending surgery before the 2022 campaign began. However, the undrafted wideout out of Utah has made significant strides in his rehab and is currently able to do some running. Patrick still has a few hurdles to clear before he's completely out of the rehab stage, but it appears Russell Wilson will have one of his top wideouts back in the fold to start 2023, which could go a long way in helping the Broncos' offense bounce back after a poor first season with Wilson in town.

Undergoes knee surgery
Patrick underwent surgery Monday to repair his torn ACL, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
ANALYSIS
The surgery was deemed a success, and Patrick now faces a long recovery period that should have him on track to be fully recovered around the start of OTAs in 2023. The lost season is a disappointment for the reliable wideout with the Broncos offense projected to take a major step forward with Russell Wilson at quarterback. In his absence, Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler can expect to see even more opportunities in Denver's new look passing attack.
Aug 3, 2022
Placed on IR
Denver placed Patrick (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
As a result of the transaction, Patrick -- who suffered a torn ACL during Tuesday's practice -- isn't eligible to play during the 2022 season. In Patrick's absence, KJ Hamler, who is returning from a knee injury of his own, should have an opportunity to see an increased profile in the Broncos' offense behind the team's top wideout options, Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy.
Aug 2, 2022
Suffers torn ACL
Tests have reportedly revealed that Patrick suffered a torn ACL during Tuesday's practice, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
With Patrick now in line to miss the 2022 season, KJ Hamler -- who's bouncing back from a knee injury of his own -- is thus a candidate to see added pass-catching opportunities behind Denver's top wideout duo of Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy.
Aug 2, 2022
Getting MRI after knee injury
Patrick is scheduled for an MRI on his knee after leaving practice early Tuesday morning, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was carted off the field and didn't put any weight on his right leg. Coach Nathaniel Hackett confirmed after practice that the 6-4 wideout is being evaluated for a knee injury. Fellow receiver KJ Hamler was just activated from the PUP list nearly 11 months after suffering a knee injury of his own and figures to see a bigger role if Patrick misses significant time, something Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports is a possibility.
Aug 2, 2022
Carted off field Tuesday
Patrick was carted off the field Tuesday after suffering a possible knee injury, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Mike Klis of 9News Denver, Patrick wasn't putting weight on his right leg as he was helped into trainer's room. If the wideout is forced to miss time, added opportunities would presumably be available for KJ Hamler, who is bouncing back from a knee injury, but was activated from the active/PUP list Monday.

Restructures contract with Denver
The Broncos converted $6.9 million of Patrick's roster bonus to a signing bonus Friday to create roughly $4.6 million in salary cap space, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick's restructured deal comes just four months after signing a three-year, $29.25 million contract with the Broncos in November. The additional salary cap room will allow Denver to remain active as the team looks to improve the roster heading into next season. The veteran wideout caught 53 of 85 targets for 734 yards and five touchdowns in 16 games last season. The acquisition of Russell Wilson at quarterback marks a significant upgrade at the position and should provide Patrick the opportunity to take a step forward in the offense in 2022.

Paces pass catchers in loss
Patrick brought in six of 10 targets for 95 yards in the Broncos' 28-24 loss to the Chiefs on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Patrick made a remarkable return from a one-game absence on the COVID-19 list, leading the Broncos in receptions, receiving yards and targets. The strong effort was a strong turnaround for Patrick in what had been a lackluster second half of the season, and his production allowed him to set a new career high in receptions (53) while falling just eight yards short of the career-best 742 receiving yards he'd recorded in 2020. Patrick now has consecutive 50-plus-catch campaigns, but he'll likely have to battle KJ Hamler (IR-knee) for the No. 3 receiver role in 2022.
Jan 5, 2022
Activated from COVID list
Patrick (illness) has been activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The same applies to Jerry Jeudy (illness), who also came of the list Wednesday, which sets the stage for the two players to return to action for Saturday's game against Kansas City, bolstering a wideout corps that was headed by Courtland Sutton in Week 17. With Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) on IR, the trio are in line to catch passes in Denver's season finale from QB Drew Lock, who's expected play through a shoulder issue this weekend.
Dec 31, 2021
Not available Week 17
Head coach Vic Fangio said that Patrick (illness) and none of the other Denver players who were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list since Tuesday will be available for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Among the 14 players currently on the COVID-19 list, Fangio is leaving the door open for only linebacker Andre Mintze and defensive lineman Mike Purcell -- who were deactivated Monday -- to return this weekend. Patrick is among the 12 other Denver players who will sit out the Week 17 due to virus-related protocols, along with fellow wideout Jerry Jeudy. With Patrick and Jeudy sidelined and Courtland Sutton (illness) listed as questionable but at risk of sitting out Sunday, Denver could be down to Kendall Hinton, Diontae Spencer and practice-squad call-ups Travis Fulgham and Seth Williams as its options at receiver this weekend.
Dec 29, 2021
Placed on COVID list, likely out
Patrick was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday and isn't expected to play this Sunday against the Chargers, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official website reports.
ANALYSIS
Assuming Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy make it through the week healthy, the Broncos have Diontae Spence and Kendall Hinton as options for the No. 3 receiver role, in addition to the possibility of more playing time for talented backup tight end Albert Okwuegbunam. Patrick might technically have a shot to return by Sunday, but Broncos coach Vic Fangio doesn't expect that to happen.
Dec 29, 2021
In line to land on COVID list
Patrick (undisclosed) is in line to be placed on the reserve/ COVID-19 list, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
A transaction to confirm that outcome is thus looming and once that occurs, Patrick will need to clear the NFL's COVID protocols in order to be cleared to play again. Candidates to fill in for him as the Broncos' No. 3 WR are Kendall Hinton and Diontae Spencer.
Dec 29, 2021
Can't produce with four targets
Patrick caught two of four targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Patrick had a rough game, much like most of the Denver pass catchers in the contest. With Drew Lock under center, the team struggled to move the ball through the air and on the ground. What's promising is that Patrick was on the field for 88 percent of the team's offensive snaps. The veteran wideout's usage has been a pleasant surprise in 2021, but it has not translated to consistent fantasy production. Regardless of who is starting at quarterback, Patrick will be hard to trust when the Broncos visit the Chargers in Week 17.
Dec 21, 2021
Finds end zone in loss
Patrick caught three of four targets for 42 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Patrick's 25-yard touchdown grab on a pass from Drew Lock was the Broncos' only trip to the end zone against the Bengals. With the score, the veteran wideout now has five touchdowns on the season. The Broncos passing game has struggled throughout the year, but Patrick's usage is encouraging. He has seen five targets in his last three games, and in Week 15, played on 94 percent of Denver's offensive snaps. With that said, there's a strong chance that the Broncos' struggles through the air will continue with Lock likely under center for a Week 16 matchup against the Raiders. Patrick will be difficult to trust in a pivotal week for fantasy.
Dec 14, 2021
Two grabs in win
Patrick secured two of five targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 38-10 win over the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Patrick has done little over the past four games in the Broncos underwhelming passing attack, averaging two catches and roughly 17 yards in that stretch. It will be very difficult to rely on him in the fantasy playoffs, even in deep leagues, as the Broncos' passing offense continues to underwhelm. Patrick and the Broncos get a matchup against the Bengals in Week 15.
Dec 7, 2021
Quiet in loss
Patrick caught one of five targets for nine yards in Sunday's 22-9 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Patrick struggled to get anything going against the Chiefs, which is not surprising as the No. 3 wideout in a below average passing offense. He did, however, play the second most offensive snaps of any Denver wide receiver. Patrick's 67 snaps were just one behind Courtland Sutton, but 11 snaps ahead of Jerry Jeudy. Even with his high snap percentage, the 6-foot-4, 212-pounder is difficult to trust for fantasy purposes barring an injury to either Sutton or Jeudy. Patrick and the Broncos offense will face the Lions in Week 14.
Nov 28, 2021
Does little against Chargers
Patrick caught two of three targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 28-13 win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
None of the Broncos' big three wideouts reached 30 receiving yards in the game, as Denver's defense and running backs carried the day. Patrick has managed only five grabs for 40 yards over the last two games, a downturn he'll look to break out of in Week 13 against Kansas City.
Nov 19, 2021
Gets extension from Denver
Patrick and the Broncos agreed Friday on a three-year, $30 million contract extension, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
ANALYSIS
The deal includes $18.5 million guaranteed and is a nice early birthday present for Patrick, who turns 28 next week and hadn't previously had much financial security since entering the NFL in 2017 as a undrafted free agent out of Utah. He played his way on to Denver's Week 1 roster in 2018 and has emerged as a key cog in the team's pass-catching group over the past three-plus seasons. Patrick has appeared in all 10 of Denver's games thus far in 2021, producing 37 receptions for 523 yards and four touchdowns on 53 targets.
Nov 16, 2021
Quiet in loss
Patrick secured three of his six targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
After leading the Broncos in receiving in a Week 10 win over Dallas, Patrick crashed back down to Earth with an underwhelming performance against the Eagles. Though his 14 yard total was the lowest of any Broncos receiver, Patrick's six targets were tied for the second-highest on the team. The veteran also played on 53 of the team's 58 offensive snaps, ahead of Jerry Jeudy (45) and just behind Courtland Sutton (55). The 6-foot-4, 212-pounder has shown that he can be a reliable playmaker for Teddy Bridgewater, but his path to consistent fantasy production doesn't exist in Denver's offense with the everyone healthy. Patrick will head into a Week 11 bye with the hopes to bounce back against the Chargers on Nov. 28.
Nov 14, 2021
Active in Week 10
Patrick (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Zac Stevens of DNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick carried a questionable tag after finishing the week with two limited practices, but he'll be available in his No. 3 receiver role Sunday. The 27-year-old has seemingly benefited from less defensive attention the last two games with fellow wideout Jerry Jeudy back in action, as Patrick has produced a 7-149-1 line on eight targets over that span.
Nov 12, 2021
Questionable after limited practice
Patrick (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Broncos have taken identical approaches with Patrick and tight end Albert Okwuegbunam, both of whom are dealing with knee injuries. Neither practiced Wednesday, but both the wide receiver and tight end have logged consecutive limited sessions since. If he suits up, Patrick will work as the Broncos' No. 3 receiver behind Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton
Nov 11, 2021
Bumps up activity
Broncos head coach Vic Fangio said Patrick (knee) will be a limited participant in Thursday's practice, George Stoia III of The Denver Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick will take a step up from Wednesday, when he was listed as a non-participant on the Broncos' first Week 10 injury report. So long as he at least maintains limited activity during the team's final practice of the week Friday, Patrick should be in good shape to play Sunday against the Eagles.
Nov 10, 2021
Misses practice with knee injury
Patrick (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick did exit at one point in Sunday's 30-16 win over the Cowboys, but the brief departure was attributed to cramping and he finished the game with four catches for 85 yards and a touchdown on five targets. A return to practice Thursday or Friday would put him on track to play this Sunday against the Eagles.
Nov 7, 2021
Okay after injury scare
Patrick recorded four receptions on five targets for 85 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-16 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was among a number of Broncos' to suffer potential injuries Sunday, though it turned out that he was only suffering from cramping, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. While on the field, Patrick delivered a few of big plays, highlighted by a 44-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. Patrick has only eight targets combined between two games since the return of Jerry Jeudy, though he's tallied 149 receiving yards in that span and has proven to be a capable deep threat. He and the Broncos will take on the Eagles in Week 10.
Oct 31, 2021
Leads Broncos in receiving Sunday
Patrick caught all three of his targets for 64 yards in Sunday's 17-10 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Despite the return of Jerry Jeudy to the lineup and the continued presence of Courtland Sutton, it was Patrick who led the Broncos in receiving yards. The three targets were a season low for the fourth-year receiver, but all three of Denver's top wideouts may need to step up in Week 9 against the Cowboys.
Oct 23, 2021
Catches two passes in loss
Patrick secured two of five targets for 16 yards in Thursdays 17-14 loss to the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Patrick played on 94 percent of the the Broncos' offensive snaps, but was essentially a non-factor Thursday night. The Denver offense had trouble getting anything going, which ultimately impacted Patrick's ability to produce for fantasy. Unfortunately for 27-year-old wideout, he is likely to see a drop in playing time and target share as fellow wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is set to return from his ankle injury that landed him on IR. Patrick has been solid for the Broncos in Jeudy's absence, but he will be difficult to trust in fantasy lineups once Jeudy takes the field. Up next for the Broncos is a matchup against Washington in Week 8.
Oct 17, 2021
Records first TD since Week 2
Patrick hauled in three of five targets for 42 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 34-24 loss to the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
The Broncos responded to the Raiders' opening-drive touchdown with a TD of their own, a 23-yard connection between Teddy Bridgewater and Patrick. Otherwise, Patrick didn't do much in this contest, ranking far behind Courtland Sutton (14) and Noah Fant (11) in terms of targets. In fact, reserves Kendall Hinton and Eric Saubert matched Patrick's target total. At the end his final reception midway through the fourth quarter, Patrick crashed into his own sideline and had his left knee examined, per Andrew Mason of TheDNVR.com. Patrick was able to return on the team's next possession, but it'll be interesting to see if his practice reps are at all limited with Denver facing a short week to prepare for Thursday's visit to Cleveland.
Oct 4, 2021
Catches three passes in loss
Patrick caught three of six targets for 39 yards in Sunday's 23-7 loss to the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Patrick's strong start to the year came to a halt in Week 4, as the wideout was unable to make the most out of the six targets he saw come his way. Patrick was held out of the end zone for the second straight week after hitting pay dirt in the first two games of the season. With that said, the 27-year-old has found himself in a prime spot to be real contributor for the Broncos' offense, as injuries have forced him into the starting lineup. Fantasy managers should expect Patrick to continue to be a key part of Denver's offense working alongside Courtland Sutton. The veteran will get the chance to bounce back in a Week 5 matchup against the Steelers, a contest that may include Drew Lock at the helm if Teddy Bridgewater is forced to miss time with a concussion.
Sep 29, 2021
Locked in as starter for Week 4
With KJ Hamler (knee) out for the season, Patrick and Courtland Sutton will be Denver's top wideouts until Jerry Jeudy (ankle) returns from injured reserve, Aric DiLalla of the team's official website reports.
ANALYSIS
Jeudy is eligible to return as soon as Week 4 but may need more time to recover from a high ankle sprain. While Patrick eventually will face demotion to the No. 3 role, he's again done well with modest volume, catching 12 of 13 targets for 174 yards and two touchdowns on 73.3 percent snap share through three games. He does get a suboptimal matchup this weekend, facing a Baltimore defense that has two of the league's more physically imposing cornerbacks in Marlon Humphrey (6-0) and Jimmy Smith (6-2).
Sep 27, 2021
Works as deep threat
Patrick recorded five receptions on five targets for 98 yards in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Patrick flipped roles with Courtland Sutton, with Patrick serving as the primary deep threat in Week 3. He connected with Teddy Bridgewater for gains of 31, 27 and 24 yards, which accounted for the majority of his production. Patrick was held back from more significant volume by game script as Bridgewater attempted only 25 passes throughout the contest. The Broncos may be forced to the air more in a Week 4 matchup against Tennessee, and Patrick should carry a significant role in the offense so long as Jerry Jeudy (ankle) is sidelined.
Sep 24, 2021
Good to go against Jets
Patrick (hip) was a full participant in practice Friday and is expected to play Sunday against the Jets, Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick started the week with a pair of limited sessions but was cleared for a full practice Friday and should subsequently suit up without limitations come Sunday. He has opened the season on a two-game touchdown streak and has a nice opportunity to extend that streak in Denver's home opener against New York's inexperienced secondary.
Sep 23, 2021
Limited again Thursday
Patrick (hip) is slated to practice in a limited capacity Thursday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Denver will put a cap on Patrick's practice reps for the second straight day, but so long as he upgrades to full activity Friday, he should enter Sunday's game against the Jets minus an injury designation. After fellow wideout Jerry Jeudy (ankle) was placed on injured reserve ahead of last week's victory over the Jaguars, Patrick didn't see much of a spike his usage or volume. He played 73 percent of offensive snaps and delivered a 3-37-1 line on four targets Week 2, compared to a 70 percent snap share and a 4-39-1 line on four targets in the season-opening win over the Giants.
Sep 22, 2021
Limited Wednesday
Patrick (hip) will be limited in Wednesday's practice, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick will have two more opportunities to ramp up his practice level ahead of Sunday's contest against the Jets. Last weekend versus the Jaguars he managed three catches for 37 yards and a touchdown on four targets, while operating as the No. 2 wideout behind Courtland Sutton (12-159-0). With Jerry Jeudy (ankle) still on IR, the 27-year-old is primed to once again handle an increased role Week 3, though his hip injury will warrant monitoring.
Sep 21, 2021
Hits pay dirt in win
Patrick secured three of four targets for 37 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 23-13 win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
With fellow wideout Jerry Jeudy placed on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain, Patrick stepped in and played on 74 percent of Denver's offensive snaps in Week 2. The receiver's score was his second of the season, and it's clear that Teddy Bridgewater is building a strong chemistry with the veteran. Going forward, it is plausible to think that Patrick can continue to be an important part of the Broncos' passing attack, in turn making him an intriguing option in fantasy lineups while Jeudy misses time. The 27-year-old has the chance to build off this early season momentum when the Broncos host the struggling Jets in Week 3.
Sep 13, 2021
Finds end zone in win
Patrick secured all four of his targets for 39 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
After a 2020 season with zero drops, Patrick picked up where he left off, catching every pass that Teddy Bridgewater threw his way. The 27-year-old wideout was tied for third in targets with KJ Hamler, behind only Noah Fant and Jerry Jeudy. Jeudy left the contest early with a high ankle sprain, which will more than likely sideline the wide receiver for multiple weeks. In his absence, Patrick figures to benefit as a trusted playmaker in the passing game.
Aug 18, 2021
Returns from groin injury
Patrick (groin) returned to practice Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
In and out of practice for the past few weeks, Patrick seems to be falling behind KJ Hamler, who caught two passes for 105 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason opener against Minnesota. The two wide receivers are competing for the No. 3 role, though both are talented enough to earn some snaps from the fourth spot on the depth chart.
Aug 17, 2021
Still dealing with groin injury
Patrick (groin) only participated in the walk-through portion of Tuesday's practice, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick has been in and out of practice since the first week of training camp, seemingly due to the same lingering groin/thigh injury. He didn't play in the preseason opener, in which KJ Hamler scored an 80-yard touchdown. Hamler and Patrick are believed to be competing for the No. 3 receiver job behind Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy.
Aug 11, 2021
Returns from groin issue
Patrick (groin) returned to practice Wednesday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
ANALYSIS
Minor injuries have cost Patrick some practice time this summer, but he'll still have his shot to compete with KJ Hamler for the third spot at wide receiver. The Broncos open their preseason Saturday against the Vikings, and while Patrick won't necessarily play in that game, he seems to be on track for the second or third week of the exhibition slate.
Aug 11, 2021
Continues to miss practice
Patrick (groin) was held out of practice Tuesday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick continues to miss practice due to a groin issue that Coach Vic Fangio asserts is nothing serious, according to Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com. Denver's coaching staff is taking a cautious approach with the fourth-year wideout after he nursed a hamstring injury earlier in the offseason. In the wake of a knee injury suffered by fellow receiver Courtland Sutton in 2020, Patrick saw his opportunity grow, and amassed 742 yards and six touchdowns on 51 catches. The 2017 undrafted free agent enters the 2021 season in a competition for the No. 3 wide receiver spot with KJ Hamler. However, Sutton's return to a talented group of pass catchers including Jerry Jeudy and Noah Fant will likely limit Patrick's target share in the Denver offense. Nonetheless, Patrick's availability in Denver's first preseason game against Minnesota on Aug. 14 should shed some light on the severity of his injury.
Aug 8, 2021
Misses practice due to groin
Patrick (groin) was unable to practice Sunday, George Stoia III of The Denver Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick missed practice Friday with what was deemed to be leg soreness, and after returning Saturday, he was right back on the sidelines Sunday. The wide receiver's participation, or lack thereof, in Denver's Aug. 14 preseason opener against the Vikings should provide a more definitive assessment of his health. Patrick will look to return to practice this week ahead of the preseason opener.

Aug 3, 2021
Returns to camp
Patrick (leg) returned to practice over the weekend, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official website reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was held out Friday with a sore leg but apparently didn't miss much time. He's competing with KJ Hamler (reserve/COVID-19) for the No. 3 receiver job, though the loser of the battle also figures to have a role of some sort in the Denver offense.
Jul 30, 2021
Rested with sore leg
Patrick was held out of Friday's practice to rest a sore leg, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear if this is related to the hamstring injury that caused Patrick to miss a few days of OTAs in early June. At the time, coach Vic Fangio said the hamstring injury was "very, very minor," and there was no report of Patrick being limited earlier this week at the start of training camp. He's likely competing with KJ Hamler for the No. 3 receiver role, but both figure to get some snaps and targets even if Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy also stay healthy.
Jul 29, 2021
Set to compete with Hamler
Patrick (hamstring) has been participating in training camp practices, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
A minor hamstring issue cropped up for Patrick during last month's OTAs, but he's back out there, competing for slotting in a Denver wideout corps that welcomes back top option Courtland Sutton (knee). With Sutton and Jerry Jeudy atop the team's depth chart, Patrick figures to compete this summer with KJ Hamler for Denver's No. 3 WR spot.
Jun 7, 2021
Sits with minor hamstring issue
Head coach Vic Fangio indicated after Monday's OTA that Patrick sat with a "very, 'very slight hamstring" injury, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Fangio noted that he probably could have practiced, so this was likely a case of the team just taking precautions to ensure nothing more becomes of the issue. Barring a setback of some kind he could be back on the field for one of the upcoming OTA sessions.
May 18, 2021
Inks RFA tender
Patrick signed the second-round tender he received from the Broncos on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old became a restricted free agent this offseason but was never likely to head elsewhere after Denver extended him a second-round tender. Patrick is coming off a productive 2020 campaign in which he caught 51 of 79 targets for 742 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games, and he should enter training camp as the team's No. 3 wideout behind Courtland Sutton (knee) and Jerry Jeudy.
Mar 16, 2021
Receives second-round tender
The Broncos extended a second-round tender to restricted free agent Patrick (foot) on Tuesday, Ryan O'Halloran of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Denver's decision likely will stop other organizations from extending Patrick an offer sheet, but the wide receiver fared well in his third pro season in 2020, turning 79 targets into 51 catches for 742 yards and six touchdowns. Furthermore, 23 of his 90 career receptions have gone for 20-plus yards, so he does boast field-stretching ability, despite mostly uneven quarterback play through three campaigns.
Mar 15, 2021
Expecting second-rounder tender
The Broncos are likely to place a second-round tender on restricted free agent Patrick (foot), Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
ANALYSIS
The move would help ensure Patrick remains a Bronco in 2021, as Denver would have the opportunity to match any offer the receiver attracts on the open market. Additionally, any bargaining team would have to surrender a second-round draft pick to the Broncos in order to acquire Patrick's services. During his third active pro season in 2020, Patrick composed three separate 100-yard receiving performances. His six receiving touchdowns, meanwhile, were twice as many as any other player on the team. Courtland Sutton's return from a torn ACL would likely dampen Patrick's target share. Then again, Patrick may benefit from more single-coverage situations if operating opposite Sutton and promising sophomore wideout Jerry Jeudy.
Mar 5, 2021
To be tendered by Broncos
Broncos general manager George Paton stated the team intends to apply a restricted free agent tender to Patrick, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Paton didn't go into details on the upcoming transaction, Renck expects Patrick to draw a second-round tender. With Courtland Sutton (knee) unavailable Weeks 3 through 17 of last season, Patrick stepped into a prime role in the Broncos' offense, nearly quadrupling his previous career high with 15 starts. The 27-year-old's six receiving scores led the team, while his 742 receiving yards were surpassed by only Jerry Jeudy. Patrick was forced to sit out Denver's season finale against Las Vegas because of a foot sprain, but he's expected to be recuperated in time for Broncos OTAs this spring. That is, so long as another team doesn't bite on the tender and extract Patrick from the team's receiving corps.

Tops team with six touchdowns
Patrick caught 51 of 79 passes for 742 yards and six touchdowns during the 2020 campaign.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was arguably the bright spot in what was a disappointing season in Denver. Though he topped 50 yards just four times, and never after Week 11, the former undrafted free agent was the Broncos' most consistent option and was a difference maker in wins against the Jets and Patriots. He should be tendered in restricted free agency, but expect a downtick in his contract season. Patrick benefitted from being WR2 through most of the season. That likely won't be the case with Courtland Sutton (2021) back in the fold and Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler with a year under their belts.

Dealing with foot sprain
Patrick (foot) is nursing a sprain, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick managed to avoid any sort of break in his foot, so he should be on track to fully recover in time for the beginning of Denver's offseason activities. The 27-year-old is coming off his best campaign as a pro, with 51 catches (79 targets) for 742 yards and six scores across 15 games. Perhaps even more impressively, Patrick had three performances with over 100 receiving yards in 2020.
Jan 3, 2021
Ruled out Sunday
Patrick (foot) won't return to Sunday's game against the Raiders, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Considering only modest QB play for Denver this season, Patrick put together a decent receiving line, hauling in 51 of 79 targets for 742 yards and six touchdowns in 15 contests. The extent of his foot injury isn't known, but coach Vic Fangio may provide some clarity on Patrick's health after this outing.
Jan 3, 2021
Suffers foot injury
Patrick was forced out of Sunday's game against the Raiders with a foot injury, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
ANALYSIS
Before leaving the contest, Patrick caught two of his four targets for 46 yards. Now in the mix for Denver's Week 17 wide receiver targets are Jerry Jeudy, DaeSean Hamilton, Diontae Spencer and Tyrie Cleveland.
Dec 28, 2020
Grabs three passes in loss
Patrick caught three of four targets for 39 yards during Sunday's 19-16 loss at the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Patrick arguably made the play of the game Sunday for the Broncos. With the team down by 10 and facing fourth-and-seven at midfield midway through the fourth quarter, Drew Lock found Patrick over the middle and the Utah product broke upfield for a 27-yard gain. Denver punched it in four plays later. Patrick has been a rare bright spot for Denver's offense this season, ranking second on the team in catches and yards and first in touchdowns as an undrafted veteran on a team full of young, early-round picks. He'll have an opportunity to end the season on a high note against a struggling Las Vegas pass defense that gave up four catches for 61 yards to Patrick in Week 10.
Dec 22, 2020
Can't get going against Bills
Patrick caught three of four targets for 14 yards in Saturday's 48-19 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Patrick has finished with fewer than 50 receiving yards in four straight games. While he rang up three touchdowns over the previous two outings, Saturday's game proved he's been dependant on the paydirt of late. Nevertheless, Patrick finished second among Broncos wide receivers in targets behind Jerry Jeudy (five). He'll face a tough test in Week 16, as the Chargers have given up just 206.5 passing yards per game (seventh-fewest in the league).
Dec 14, 2020
Scores sixth touchdown of season
Patrick caught three of five targets for 36 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 32-27 win in Carolina.
ANALYSIS
Patrick helped the Broncos take a two-score lead late in the third quarter, first with a nifty short-crosser into a wheel route that picked up 32 yards. Then, after a big gain on a tight-end screen, Patrick helped punch it in with a two-yard touchdown to the flat -- his third touchdown in his last two games and sixth of the season. The Utah product has averaged just 3.7 targets per game over the past three weeks -- down from 6.2 during his first nine outings of the season -- but remains the most consistent red-zone target on an offense that appears to be starting-and-stopping into form. Next up is a Buffalo pass defense that has ranked in the middle of the pack this season.
Dec 7, 2020
Two scores on SNF
Patrick corralled all four of his targets for 44 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 22-16 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Patrick bounced back in a big way from an -- understandable -- zero-catch performance last week with a practice squad wide receiver under center for Denver. With Drew Lock (reserve/COVID-19) back in control, Denver's passing game got back on track and nearly upset an AFC powerhouse Kansas City squad on national television. Patrick played a big role in the valiant effort, hitting pay dirt twice and bringing his new career high mark up to seven scores on the year. The two-score game on Sunday Night Football may result in a spike in ownership for the 2018 undrafted wideout, but he had already been making a case for a spot on fantasy rosters with 17 receptions, 253 yards and three scores over his last four games with Lock under center. Patrick will get a chance to keep things rolling in a favorable matchup against Carolina in Week 14.
Dec 1, 2020
Catchless in loss
Patrick did not reel in either of his targets during Denver's 31-3 loss to New Orleans Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Patrick had a nice little groove going coming into Sunday, coming off three straight games with at least four catches and a 119-yard performance against Miami. Obviously, COVID protocols threw a wrench into the works as the Broncos were forced to play undrafted rookie wide receiver Kendall Hinton at quarterback. It's hard to take much from a game like that, so attentions should be focused on Drew Lock's return to the lineup for Sunday night's matchup in Kansas City. Patrick tallied three catches for 44 yards against the Chiefs in a Week 7 loss.
Nov 22, 2020
Tops century mark in win
Patrick caught five of eight targets for 119 yards in Sunday's 20-13 win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Most of his production came on the final play of the game, when on fourth down the Broncos elected to run out the clock with a play and it turned into a 61-yard reception for Patrick. It's the third time this season he's topped 100 receiving yards in a game, and he continues to see steady target volume heading into Week 12's clash with the Saints.
Nov 15, 2020
Solid day in losing effort
Patrick reeled in four of six targets for 61 receiving yards during Sunday's 37-12 loss to the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Patrick concluded the divisional loss sitting in a four-way tie for the team lead in receptions, producing his greatest receiving output since posting back-to-back 100-yard performances Weeks 4 and 6 against the Jets and Patriots. With Courtland Sutton (knee) set to remain on IR for the rest of the 2020 campaign, Patrick stands as the No. 2 wideout for Denver heading into a Week 11 matchup against Miami's 21st-ranked pass defense.
Nov 13, 2020
Sheds injury tag
Patrick (hamstring) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick's hamstring injury limited him in practice this week, but he'll be available for quarterback Drew Lock in Las Vegas. Jerry Jeudy (shoulder) is officially listed as questionable, so it's possible that Patrick could see a slight uptick in offensive opportunities. He's only drawn less than five targets on two occasions this season.
Nov 11, 2020
Practices in limited fashion
Patrick (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was limited all week leading up to this past Sunday's loss to the Falcons, a game in which he played 60 of the Broncos' 73 offensive snaps and recorded a 4-29-1 line. Provided he doesn't suffer a setback, Patrick should be ready to go for this Sunday's divisional tilt against the Raiders.
Nov 10, 2020
Snags TD in Week 9 loss
Patrick corralled four of his nine targets for 29 receiving yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
With Courland Sutton (knee) having been placed on injured reserve Sept. 21 because of ACL and MCL tears in his left knee, Patrick has stepped into the No. 2 wide receiver role for the Broncos. Thus far in 2020, the Utah product ranks third on the team in targets (42), behind only Jerry Jeudy and Noah Fant (ankle), producing 383 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 27 catches. Patrick's nine targets placed behind Jeudy and KJ Hamler during a Week 9 loss to the Falcons, and his workload should remain ample for an upcoming Sunday matchup against the Raiders' 26th-ranked pass defense.
Nov 8, 2020
Deemed good to go for Week 9
Patrick (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
After practicing on a limited basis throughout the week, Patrick will return to action after sitting out the Broncos' Week 8 win over the Chargers with the hamstring issue. Patrick, who has a pair of 100-yard receiving games on his resume this season, could be a worthy starting option this week while facing off against a porous Atlanta secondary.
Nov 6, 2020
Questionable but expected to play
Patrick (hamstring) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons, but head coach Vic Fangio said Friday that he believes the wide receiver will be able to play, Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick has been limited in practice throughout the week after missing last week's game, but it appears his absence may be limited to just that one contest barring a setback in pregame warm-ups. Even at less than 100 percent, Patrick would have plenty of upside if he's able to suit up against a Falcons defense that's allowing over 300 passing yards per game.
Nov 5, 2020
Limited again, trending upward
Patrick (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was also listed as limited on Wednesday's estimated practice report, as he continues to nurse the hamstring injury that caused him to sit out Week 8. Troy Renck of Denver 7 News reports that the Broncos are optimistic about Patrick's chances of suiting up in Atlanta on Sunday, and he'll get one more chance to prove his health during Friday's practice.
Nov 4, 2020
Limited in practice Wednesday
Patrick is listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick wasn't able to suit up for Sunday's 31-30 win over the Chargers, but to see that he's progressed enough to resume practicing on a limited basis is encouraging, even if Wednesday's injury report is an estimation. The Broncos will monitor Patrick during practice Thursday and Friday before making a decision regarding his tentative return to the field at Atlanta in Week 9.
Nov 1, 2020
Inactive Sunday
Patrick (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
With Patrick unavailable for the contest, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and DaeSean Hamilton will head the Broncos' Week 8 wide receiver corps against Los Angeles.
Nov 1, 2020
Iffy for Sunday's game
Patrick will test out his hamstring during pre-game workouts, but Troy Renck of Denver 7 News suggest that Broncos' promotion of wide receiver Fred Brown to the team's active roster hints that the team has concerns about Patrick's availability for Sunday's 4:05 ET kickoff against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
If Patrick is deemed inactive for the contest, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and DaeSean Hamilton would be in line to head Denver's Week 8 wide receiver corps.
Oct 31, 2020
Game-time decision
Patrick (hamstring) remains a true game-time decision ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Chargers, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick will work out before Sunday's game in order to test out his hamstring. The results of that will determine his status for Sunday's contest. If he is ultimately unable to get the green light. look for Jerry Jeudy, Kj Hamler and DaeSean Hamilton to fill out the Broncos' three-receiver sets.
Oct 30, 2020
Listed as questionable
Patrick (hamstring) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick began the week with back-to-back absences from practice, but the Broncos did not hold a session Friday due to COVID-19 precautions. The team anticipates practicing Saturday, during which time Patrick would likely have to return in at least a limited capacity in order to gain clearance for Sunday's game. If Patrick can't get the green light versus Los Angeles, the Broncos will likely roll with Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and DaeSean Hamilton in three-receiver sets.
Oct 29, 2020
Sits out practice again
Patrick (hamstring) will be listed as a non-participant on Thursday's practice report, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com notes that Patrick was able to work out on side field with the Broncos' other rehabbing players, but his absence from the main group for the second day in a row doesn't bode well for his odds of gaining clearance for Sunday's game against the Chargers. Before a ruling on Patrick's status for the weekend is made, the Broncos will see what he's able to do in the team's final Week 8 practice Friday. Should Patrick be inactive against Los Angeles, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and DaeSean Hamilton would likely serve as the Broncos' starting wideout trio.
Oct 28, 2020
Not spotted at Wednesday's practice
Patrick (hamstring) is not present at the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Broncos have labeled Patrick day-to-day, but it currently looks like he's trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's game against the Chargers. The 26-year-old will look to upgrade his level of practice participation Thursday and Friday.
Oct 26, 2020
Called day-to-day
Coach Vic Fangio said Monday that Patrick is day-to-day, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick secured three of four targets for 44 yards prior to being forced out of Sunday's 43-16 loss to the Chiefs in the fourth quarter. The label of his hamstring injury as 'day-to-day' would seem to indicate that Patrick as a chance of suiting up against the Chargers in Week 8, though the extent of his practice activity will likely serve as the final determining factor for his availability.
Oct 25, 2020
Injures hamstring Sunday
Patrick is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Chiefs due to a hamstring injury, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick left the field midway through the fourth quarter, so it seems likely that he won't return to the field Sunday. Before being forced out against the Chiefs, Patick caught three of four targets for 44 yards.
Oct 18, 2020
Tops 100 yards in Lock's return
Patrick caught four of eight targets for 101 yards in Sunday's 18-12 win over New England.
ANALYSIS
Patrick set up an opening-drive field goal with a 41-yard catch and led the team in receptions, yards and targets. The third-year man out of Utah remained the top receiving option for the Broncos with Drew Lock (shoulder) back under center, accounting for over half of Lock's passing yards and four of his 10 completions. Patrick has topped 100 receiving yards in each of his last two games heading into a Week 7 meeting with the Chiefs.
Oct 11, 2020
Denver-New England moved to Week 6
Patrick and the Broncos won't play the Patriots on Monday after the game was postponed until Week 6 due to a third positive COVID-19 test in the New England organization within the past 10 days, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Broncos and Patriots are now tentatively scheduled to play Sunday, Oct. 18 in Week 6, which was originally a scheduled bye week for New England. Denver meanwhile, had been in line to host the Dolphins, but Miami now looks poised to take its bye Week 6.
Oct 2, 2020
Eclipses century mark in win
Patrick secured six of seven targets for 113 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos' 37-28 win over the Jets on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Patrick paced the Broncos in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the night, flashing excellent rapport with first-time starter Brett Rypien. While his seven-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter helped give Denver some breathing room after it was clinging to a 17-16 lead, Patrick's biggest grab of the night may have come on a 31-yard reception late in the fourth quarter that took the ball to the Jets' 22-yard line. Brandon McManus was subsequently able to close out the drive with a 53-yard field goal that erased a 27-25 deficit for the Broncos, giving them a lead they wouldn't relinquish. With Courtland Sutton (knee) out for the remainder of the year, Patrick could certainly be in line for a career year if he can keep up his current moment. He'll head into a Week 5 road matchup against the Patriots on Sunday, Oct. 11 with a 16-209-2 line over his first four contests.
Sep 27, 2020
Records first TD of 2020
Patrick caught all four of his targets for 43 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 28-10 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was easily the most efficient of Denver's top three pass-catchers, as Jerry Jeudy (nine targets) and Noah Fant (10 targets) posted catch rates of 55.6 percent and 50 percent, respectively. The 26-year-old logged multiple receptions Weeks 1 and 2, but Patrick's yardage total was his best output since Week 16 of last season. With Courtland Sutton (knee) on injured reserve, Patrick will remain the No. 2 option at wide receiver as the Broncos head into a Thursday night matchup against a Jets team that has surrendered 31.3 points per game.
Sep 22, 2020
Role secure in Denver
Patrick should start opposite Jerry Jeudy following news that Courland Sutton (torn ACL) will miss the rest of the season, Ben Swanson of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick has logged at least 65 percent of offensive snaps in each of the first two games, and with Sutton done for the season, that role should be locked down for the foreseeable future. However, he hasn't been very productive through two weeks with just six catches for 53 yards on 10 targets, and his five targets in Week 2 were surpassed by rookies Jerry Jeudy (eight) and KJ Hamler (seven). There's more ambiguity now, too, as QB Drew Lock (shoulder) will sit out at least two weeks, and Jeff Driskel will take over under center. With Patrick potentially being the fourth receiving option to Driskel behind Jeudy, Hamler and TE Noah Fant, his fantasy outlook is bleak.
Sep 15, 2020
Snags four passes in loss
Patrick caught four of five targets for 29 yards during Monday's 16-14 loss to Tennessee.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was the elder statesman on the field Monday night as Courtland Sutton (shoulder) was held out. Patrick came up with a big 15-yard grab on second and long to set up Denver's fourth-quarter touchdown, but it was an otherwise quiet night. Things shouldn't get much louder once Sutton returns to the lineup. Monday evidenced that, while young and inexperienced, Denver has a lot of skill players to try to get the ball to and Patrick, though WR3, is probably no better than the fifth or sixth option in Denver's arsenal.
Aug 28, 2020
Rejoins practice
Patrick (undisclosed) returned to practice Friday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was absent Monday through Thursday but will suit up to close out the week. He's competing for the No. 3 receiver job, with DaeSean Hamilton and KJ Hamler (hamstring) being the other candidates. Hamler hasn't been able to practice for the past week and a half, and it isn't clear if he'll be available for Week 1.
Aug 24, 2020
Absent from practice
Patrick got banged up during Sunday's practice and isn't participating Monday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
ANALYSIS
With rookie second-round pick KJ Hamler nursing a hamstring injury, Patrick was looking at an easier path to a top-three role in Week 1. It isn't yet clear if his own injury might threaten that status, but the Broncos figure to give DaeSean Hamilton most of the No. 3 receiver reps for the time being. Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy appear locked in as the lead duo.
Aug 20, 2020
Has clearer path to starting gig
Rookie speedster KJ Hamler (hamstring) is set to miss several weeks, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. Hamler's absence provides less competition for Patrick, who has been working with the first team in camp.
ANALYSIS
Reports out of camp have been that Patrick has consistently played opposite Courtland Sutton on the first-team offense with rookie first-rounder Jerry Jeudy in the slot. Hamler has made some highlights on the second team, but any chance he had at competing for an enlarged role early in the season are likely out the window. Patrick is a huge target, but don't expect huge results even if he locks up the second outside receiver gig. Even as the WR2, Patrick is likely no better than the fourth option in the passing game behind Sutton, Jeudy, and sophomore tight end Noah Fant. His production will likely vary week to week depending on how opponents defend Sutton and Jeudy.
Apr 25, 2020
On roster bubble following draft
The Broncos' selection of receivers Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler in the first two rounds of the draft spells competition for Patrick in 2020, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick missed the first half of the season with a broken hand, but was serviceable down the stretch, catching at least three passes for at least 45 yards in three of seven games. The Broncos were bound to go wide receiver early in the draft, but two premium picks likely shakes up the depth chart. Assuming, as head coach Vic Fangio told reporters after Day 2 of the draft, that Diontae Spencer remains the preferred returner, Patrick, DaeSean Hamilton, Fred Brown, and Juwann Winfree are all likely competing for two spots. Patrick has the advantage of being a special-teams ace and a clutch, big-bodied security blanket on third-and-short. Even if those skills keep him on the roster, however, the draft has likely pushed Patrick down from WR3 to WR4 or WR5.
Mar 16, 2020
Back in Denver
Patrick will remain with the Broncos after the team placed a contract tender on the exclusive rights free agent Monday.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old was a solid contributor despite missing eight games with a hand injury, hauling in 16 of 31 targets for 218 yards in 2019. Patrick did emerge late in the season as a nice No. 2 option behind Courtland Sutton, however, he'll likely face some competition from inside and outside sources heading into the 2020 season. Depending how Denver handles it's receiver depth chart, Patrick could be in line for a depth-receiver spot and special-teams duties in 2020.
Jan 5, 2020
Ends year with 16 catches
Patrick caught 16 of 31 passes for 218 yards during an injury-shortened 2019 season.
ANALYSIS
Patrick injured his hand early in Week 1's loss in Oakland and didn't return to action until Week 11 in Minnesota. He never came close to the 77 yards he picked up in that game. Patrick was useful on third down, using his big frame to shield defenders and pick up first downs. He did not emerge as a consistent threat opposite Courtland Sutton, however, and will likely be met with some additional competition on the depth chart in 2020 should he return as an exclusive-rights free agent. Assuming Denver adds to the receivers room during the offseason, Patrick figures to be a down-roster receiver and special-teams ace in 2020.
Nov 29, 2019
Avoids injury designation
Patrick (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Chargers, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The wideout's participation in practice was limited Wednesday and Thursday on account of the injury, but he erased any concern about his Week 13 status by taking every rep during Friday's session. Since returning from injured reserve Week 11, Patrick has operated as the clear No. 2 wideout behind Courtland Sutton, playing 69.4 percent of the offensive snaps the past two games and hauling in five of 11 targets for 80 yards. Patrick's fantasy outlook could improve over the final quarter of the season if the Broncos elect to roll with second-round rookie Drew Lock (thumb) as the starting quarterback over incumbent Brandon Allen, who has completed just 46.4 percent of his attempts through three outings.
Nov 27, 2019
Limited to begin week
Patrick (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick managed to play through his shoulder injury during Week 12's loss to the Bills, during which he caught one of three targets for three yards. The 26-year-old will look to bounce back against the Chargers on Sunday, and he'll work to establish better chemistry with whichever of Drew Lock (thumb) or Brandon Allen starts under center.
Nov 24, 2019
Active against Bills
Patrick (shoulder) is active Week 12 against Buffalo.
ANALYSIS
After logging back-to-back limited practice sessions to end the week, Patrick was considered a likely candidate to suit up and attempt to build on his Week 11 performance of 4-77-0. That outing was Patrick's first game back from the injured reserve, and he quickly emerged as the secondary target to Courtland Sutton, playing 59 snaps (72.8 percent) and getting targeted eight times -- just over a fifth of Brandon Allen's total pass attempts. Patrick does have a tougher matchup ahead against Buffalo, however, as the Bills are giving up the eighth-least fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts in standard formats and have allowed the position to reach the end zone just four times all season.
Nov 24, 2019
Likely for Week 12
Patrick (shoulder) is expected to suit up Sunday against the Bills, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports, per a source.
ANALYSIS
Patrick was limited for much of the week, but it looks like he'll be ready to play after posting a 4-77-0 line on eight targets in last week's loss to the Vikings. With Emmanuel Sanders off to San Francisco and stud teammate Courtland Sutton likely to be shadowed much of the afternoon by top corner Tre'Davious White, Patrick could be in for a high-volume game.
Nov 22, 2019
Listed as questionable this week
Patrick (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills after practicing in a limited fashion again Friday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick sat out Wednesday's practice before logging back-to-back sessions Thursday and Friday. If he does suit up for Sunday's 1:00 ET contest, look for Patrick to continue to work as the Broncos' No. 2 wide receiver behind Courtland Sutton. In his return to game action this past weekend, Patrick -- who had fractured his left hand in Week 1 -- started opposite Sutton and hauled in four of his seven targets for 77 yards in a 27-23 loss to Minnesota.
Nov 21, 2019
Returns to limited practice
Patrick (shoulder) returned to a limited practice Thursday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick sat out Wednesday's session, so his return to practice Thursday suggests that he's trending toward being active Sunday against the Bills. Look for Friday's injury report to either officially list him as questionable, or minus a Week 12 injury tag.
Nov 21, 2019
Back at practice
Patrick (shoulder) returned to practice Thursday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.
ANALYSIS
We'll see if Patrick is listed as a full or limited participant, but his return to practice Thursday, in any capacity, bodes well for his chances of suiting up and working as the Broncos No. 2 wide receiver behind Courtland Sutton on Sunday against the Bills.
Nov 20, 2019
Sits out practice
Patrick (shoulder) didn't practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
In his return to action in Week 11's loss to the Vikings, Patrick started opposite Courtland Sutton, en route to logging 57 of a possible 79 snaps on offense and catching four of his seven targets for 77 yards. He did leave the contest for a spell, but was able to return, which suggests that his Wednesday absence could be maintenance-related.
Nov 17, 2019
Returns to action
Patrick (shoulder) returned to Sunday's game against the Vikings, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick missed a couple drives after injuring his shoulder in the first quarter, but he's fine going forward. The 25-year-old wideout hauled in a 38-yard pass from wide-receiver Courtland Sutton before exiting, and he'll look to build off of that explosive play.
Nov 17, 2019
Gets hurt Sunday
Patrick (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Vikings, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a tough break for Patrick, who was just activated off injured reserve Friday. He headed to the locker room to get extra treatment, and it's unclear how Patrick picked up the injury. In the meantime, Diontae Spencer and Fred Brown are the receivers to likely see a bump in snaps.
Sep 10, 2019
Questionable to return
Patrick suffered a hand injury in Monday's game and is questionable to return against the Raiders, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Patrick is a depth option at wideout and contributes on special teams as well. He exits the contest with no receptions. Look for more updates on his status to come in the next few days when the Broncos resume practice.
