Racks up 4.5 sacks in 2024
Wilson made 27 tackles (16 solo), including 4.5 sacks, across 16 regular-season appearances in 2024. He also had one forced fumble.
ANALYSIS
Wilson modestly improved upon his 3.5-sack rookie campaign in Year 2, though he hasn't yet developed into the type of difference-maker Las Vegas hoped for in selecting him in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Lining up across from a fully healthy Maxx Crosby (ankle) during the 2025 season could go a long way in allowing Wilson to continue his development.

Gets sack in loss
Wilson recorded four tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks and an additional tackle for a loss, in Sunday's 29-19 defeat to the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
The defensive end and 2023 first-round pick remains behind Maxx Crosby and Charles Snowden on the depth chart, though he has played on more than 20 defensive snaps in each of his last nine games. Wilson has 16 tackles (10 solo), including 3.0 sacks, and a forced fumble on the year.

Will play versus Carolina
Wilson (knee) will play Sunday in Las Vegas' matchup versus the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Wilson is set to return to the field after having suffered a knee injury during the team's Week 1 loss to the Chargers. The 2023 first-round pick will serve as a rotational pass rusher behind Maxx Crosby and Janarius Robinson.

Questionable for Sunday
Wilson (knee) was a full participant in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Carolina, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Reed was sidelined for Week 2 against the Ravens due to a knee injury he sustained in Week 1 versus the Chargers. The 2023 first-round pick opened the week with back-to-back limited practices, but he finished strong with a full session Friday, which suggests he has a good chance of playing Sunday. If he does suit up, Wilson will provide rotational depth at defensive end behind starters Maxx Crosby (ankle) and Janarius Robinson.

Won't play Sunday
Head coach Antonio Pierce told reporters Friday that Wilson (knee) won't play in the Raiders' Week 2 contest against the Ravens, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2023 first-round pick was held out of Las Vegas' practices throughout the week due to a knee injury, so it's no surprise that he won't suit up in Week 2. Expect Charles Snowden to serve as the Raiders' top rotational edge rusher with Malcolm Koonce (knee) and Wilson sidelined Sunday.

Remains sidelined
Wilson (knee) did not practice Thursday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Wilson suffered a sprained knee in Sunday's loss to the Chargers and has yet to step on the field since. He'll have one last opportunity to do so Friday ahead of Week 2's matchup with the Ravens. However, even if he does, his lack of time on the field this week will likely leave him questionable at best on Friday's injury report.

Misses Wednesday's practice
Wilson (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2023 first-round pick sustained a knee sprain during Las Vegas' Week 1 loss, so it's no surprise that he's not practicing Wednesday. Wilson's practice participation Thursday and Friday will provide a better indication of whether the 24-year-old edge rusher will be able to suit up in Week 2.

Injury gets update
Wilson suffered a sprained knee in Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Chargers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Wilson's injury is not expected to keep him out long-term, according to Rapoport, although it's not clear how likely he may be to suit up in Week 2 against the Ravens. More clarity about his availability should come when the team releases its first injury report later in the week.

Won't return vs. Bolts
Wilson has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Chargers due to a knee injury.
ANALYSIS
Wilson injured his knee early in the first quarter, and he left for the locker room shortly after. He was ruled out for the rest of the game after halftime, and he will finish the contest without recording a tackle. With Wilson out and Malcom Koonce (knee) on IR, Charles Snowden will provide the sole depth at defensive end for the rest of Sunday's game behind Maxx Crosby and Janarius Robinson.

Leaves game with knee injury
Wilson (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Raiders, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Wilson sustained the injury early in the first quarter and did not record a tackle before leaving. With Wilson sidelined, Charles Snowden could see additional snaps at defensive end behind starters Maxx Crosby and Janarius Robinson.
Dec 11, 2023
Gets second career sack
Wilson had four tackles (three solo), including one sack, in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Spillane got his second solo sack of his career in the first quarter when he took down Joshua Dobbs for an eight-yard loss. Spillane played 37 snaps on defense Sunday, which was tied for the most this season as he gets more acclimated to the speed of the NFL. He's now up to 24 tackles (13 solo), including 2.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 13 games this season.
Oct 24, 2023
Gets first career sack
Wilson recorded two tackles (one solo) including a sack and a forced fumble in Sunday's 30-12 loss at Chicago.
ANALYSIS
It took him seven games, but Wilson finally found his way into the sack column in Week 7, chasing rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent out of the pocket to the sideline and knocking the ball out of his hand before he could get a pass off. He's been somewhat disappointing to start his career up to this point, and things won't get any easier for him in Week 8 at Detroit.

Set to play Sunday night
Wilson (illness) is active for Sunday's contest against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Wilson battled through an illness this week that saw him miss practice Wednesday and Thursday, though he was able to get in a limited session Friday. Wilson hasn't had an explosive start to his pro career and has registered just three tackles in two games so far this season.
Sep 24, 2023
Likely to play
Wilson (illness) is expected to play Sunday against the Steelers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Wilson maintains the questionable tag, missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and was a limited participant Friday. The seventh overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft has just one pressure and three tackles through two games. Wilson will look to get on track in a starting role in Week 3.
Sep 22, 2023
Questionable to face Steelers
Wilson (illness) was a limited participant at practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus Pittsburgh, Anthony Galaviz of The Fresno Bee reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing practice Wednesday and Thursday, Wilson was able to get back to action Friday, albeit in a limited capacity. If he can't play in Week 3, 2021 third-rounder Malcolm Koonce is likely to see more reps on the edge.
Aug 16, 2023
Ready to practice
Wilson (foot) was activated from the active/non-football injury list Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Wilson has been sidelined by the injury since camp opened. Now, the team's 2023 first-round selection, seventh overall, will finally get to join his teammates in practice and get up to speed. It's unclear what limitations, if any, the Texas Tech product will face in his return, but he still has just under four weeks to get ready for the team's season opener against the Broncos.

Nursing injury
Wilson (foot) still has no timetable for his return, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Josh McDaniels told reporters that Las Vegas knew Wilson would need to recover from this foot injury when they picked him seventh overall in the 2023 NFL draft. The 23-year-old's recovery is coming along well and he can begin practicing at any time throughout camp.
Jul 21, 2023
Opens camp on active/NFI list
Wilson (foot) will open the Raiders' training camp on the active/NFI list, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Wilson is dealing with a foot issue, so he'll begin camp on the sidelines. That being said, the seventh overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft is eligible to return to practice at any point and play this preseason. Las Vegas kicks off their preseason Aug. 13 versus the 49ers.
Apr 27, 2023
Heading to Vegas
The Raiders selected Wilson (foot) in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, seventh overall.
ANALYSIS
The Texas Tech Red Raider is now a Las Vegas Raider after an impressive career in Lubbock. Wilson (6-foot-6, 271) was on pace for a tremendous season in 2022 before breaking his foot in the 10th game, ending his season with seven sacks but still earning First-Team All-American honors. He played a varied role at Texas Tech with the ability to play standing up and with his hand in the dirt. The broken foot prevented him from participating at the combine or in his pro day, and some teams were concerned about it as a potential red flag. Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, Wilson has begun to ramp up his physical activity of late, however. It'll be on the Raiders to uncover his best role at the next level, but Wilson appears to be toolsy enough to be an impact player.
