Keep up with the latest injuries from the Colts vs Seahawks game on Sunday with our National Football League injury report.Dec 8, 2025
Goes back to practice squad
Jones reverted to Seattle's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
Jones was elevated from the practice squad each of the past two weeks. He logged six of 62 offensive snaps Sunday against Tampa Bay and carried four times for 32 yards while also recording 16 snaps on special teams. Jones' offensive work Sunday came entirely in garbage time with the Seahawks holding a big lead, and he doesn't figure to be a big part of the offense in future games for which he's active unless there are injuries ahead of him in the RB pecking order.
Dec 6, 2025
Elevated for Week 14
The Seahawks elevated Jones from the practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the Falcons, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones will be elevated for the second consecutive week after playing 17 special teams snaps for the Seahawks in their Week 13 win over the Vikings. The running back was not a participant in the Seahawks offense, and with Kenneth Walker, Zach Charbonnet, and Cam Akers all healthy, that is unlikely to change this Sunday. Jones can be elevated one more time before he would have to be officially signed to the active roster.

Returns to practice squad
Jones reverted to the Seahawks' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
ANALYSIS
Jones was elevated to the active roster ahead of Sunday's 26-0 win over the Vikings, most notably downing a punt from Michael Dickson in the fourth quarter. The running back didn't record any additional stats over his 17 snaps with the special-teams unit in the game. Jones can be elevated two more times before he'd have to be officially signed to the active roster.
Nov 29, 2025
Elevated for Week 13
The Seahawks elevated Jones from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones will be available to play Sunday against the Vikings. He appeared in five regular-season games for the Saints before being released in late October and mostly contributed on special teams.
Nov 18, 2025
Back with Seahawks
The Seahawks signed Jones to the practice squad Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones was with the Seahawks for one day in late October but was quickly cut. He'll be back for his second stint with the team, and he previously appeared in five games with the Saints earlier in the campaign.
Oct 30, 2025
Short stint with Seattle ends
Jones was cut from the Seahawks' practice squad Thursday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones had just been signed to the practice squad Wednesday, but his tenure on the team didn't last long. Myles Gaskin -- who had been released upon Jones' signing Wednesday -- returned to the practice squad upon Jones' departure Thursday.
Oct 29, 2025
Finds work in Seattle
The Seahawks signed Jones to their practice squad Wednesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2022 third-round pick from Tennessee was dropped from the Saints' active roster on Oct. 24, but he's already found a new home in Seattle. Jones appeared in five games for the Saints this season, recording 183 kick-return yards across 76 total snaps (74 on special teams, two on offense). Now with the Seahawks, he could be elevated to the active roster at some point this season as a return man.
Oct 24, 2025
Cut by New Orleans
The Saints waived Jones on Friday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Friday marks the second time this season that the Saints have cut Jones from the active roster, with the most recent move corresponding with New Orleans claiming tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden off waivers from the Ravens. Jones could remain in New Orleans as a member of the team's practice squad, though the Saints already have a running back on the scout team in Audric Estime. Jones played for the Saints in their first five games of the regular season, and he accumulated 183 yards on eight kickoff returns over that span.
Oct 21, 2025
Back on active roster
The Saints signed Jones from their practice squad to their active roster Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Jones was on New Orleans' active roster for the first five weeks of the campaign before being waived Oct. 7. He then signed to the team's practice squad, and he'll now return to the active roster in the wake of Kendre Miller's season-ending knee injury. When Jones was on the roster earlier in the campaign, he played almost exclusively on special teams, notching just two offensive snaps but racking up 183 kick-return yards. He may get a few more opportunities on offense moving forward but figures to still be third in the RB pecking order behind Alvin Kamara and Devin Neal.
Oct 9, 2025
Returns via practice squad
The Saints signed Jones to the practice squad Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Jones was cut from the active roster earlier in the week but returns to New Orleans as organizational depth. Jones appeared in all five games to begin the season, returning eight kickoffs for 183 yards while playing just two offensive snaps.
Oct 7, 2025
Cut by New Orleans
The Saints waived Jones on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Jones appeared in all five of the Saints' contests to begin the season, returning eight kickoffs for 183 yards while picking up three tackles (one solo) on special teams. He played two offensive snaps but didn't touch the ball on either.
Mar 15, 2025
Heading to New Orleans
Jones signed a contract with the Saints on Saturday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones played three regular-season games (two with the Bears, one with the Panthers) in 2024 and logged two carries for 11 yards and one catch for eight yards over that span. He's got an outside shot at consistent reps out of the Saints' backfield, but he could earn a spot on the 53-man roster for 2025 as a return specialist.
Jan 5, 2025
Inactive for Week 18
Jones (coach's decision) is a healthy inactive for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With the Panthers bringing back Miles Sanders (ankle) from injured reserve for the season finale, the team won't have a need to keep Jones active as a third option at running back. Raheem Blackshear and Mike Boone are instead in line to serve as the backup options behind Sanders. After Carolina signed him off the Bears' practice squad on Dec. 10, Jones appeared in two games and carried once for zero yards while playing three snaps on offense.
Dec 22, 2024
Hits inactive list for Week 16
Jones (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After Carolina signed him off Jacksonville's practice squad last week, Jones made his Panthers debut in a 30-14 loss to the Cowboys. Jones played all four of his snaps on special teams in the loss, and he'll now head to the inactive list with top return man Raheem Blackshear having been cleared to return from a one-game absence.
Dec 10, 2024
Poached by Carolina
The Panthers are signing Jones off Jacksonville's practice squad Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones, who was waived by Chicago in late October, now gets a spot on Carolina's 53-man roster due to injuries to Jonathan Brooks (knee - ACL) and Raheem Blackshear (chest). The 2022 third-round pick will be competing for reserve backfield opportunities and work in the return game with his new team.
Nov 18, 2024
Reverts to practice squad
Jones reverted to the Jaguars' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
Jones was elevated to the Jaguars' active roster ahead of Sunday's loss to the Lions for the first time since joining Jacksonville's practice squad in late October. However, the 2022 third-round pick didn't play a single snap, despite being active. He's appeared in one game with the Bears this season, catching his only target for eight yards and carrying the ball twice for 11 yards.
Nov 16, 2024
Elevated by Jags for Week 11
The Jaguars elevated Jones from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Jones started the regular season on the Bears' active roster, but outside of Week 1, he was a healthy scratch before being waived Oct. 25. The 2022 third-round pick signed with Jacksonville's practice squad four days later, and he'll make his Jaguars' debut against the Lions on Sunday.
Oct 29, 2024
Headed to Duval
The Jaguars signed Jones to the practice squad Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Jones was waived by the Bears on Friday after being a healthy scratch in each of Chicago's last six regular-season games. The 2022 third-round pick will look to take advantage of his new opportunity with the Jaguars, who need additional depth at wide receiver after Christian Kirk fractured his collarbone during Sunday's loss to the Packers. With rookie wideout Brian Thomas (chest) considered day-to-day, Jones has a chance to be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against Philadelphia.
Oct 25, 2024
Waived by Bears
Chicago waived Jones on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Jones played 16 snaps (four on offense, 12 on special teams) in Week 1 against the Titans, and he finished that contest with two carries for 11 yards and one catch for eight yards. He has been a healthy scratch across the Bears' last six games, however, and Chicago has opted to move on from the 2022 third-round pick. Assuming he clears waivers, Jones could stick around and sign with the Bears' practice squad or explore his options elsewhere.
Oct 6, 2024
Remains healthy scratch
Jones (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Jones' streak of being inactive appeared to have a chance to end with DeAndre Carter dealing with a rib injury. However, with Carter suiting up, the Tennessee product will be sidelined once again.
Sep 29, 2024
Not playing again
Jones (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Jones has been a healthy scratch since suiting up Week 1 against the Titans. His next opportunity to play will be Week 5 against the Panthers.
Sep 22, 2024
Healthy scratch again
Jones (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Jones was a healthy scratch in Week 2 as well, after suiting up for a minimal role in Week 1. He'll now work to have the opportunity to be on the field in Week 4 against the Rams.
Sep 15, 2024
Inactive Sunday
Jones (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday versus the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Jones will spend Week 2 on the sidelines after having three touches in the team's 24-17 win over the Titans in Week 1. He'll now have to wait for his next opportunity to hit the field.
Sep 8, 2024
Three touches in victory
Jones rushed twice for 11 yards while catching an eight yard pass in the Bears' 24-17 win over the Titans on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
After an impressive preseason in which Jones was effective as a running back, Jones served in the committee with Khalil Herbert and Travis Homer behind starter D'Andre Swift. Although it appears that Jones may be in line to see snaps on offense, he may need to separate himself from the other backup running backs if he is going to have reliable fantasy value.
Aug 23, 2024
Stars as lead running back
Jones rushed 13 times for 111 yards and a touchdown and secured both targets for 11 yards in the Bears' 34-21 preseason win over the Chiefs on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Jones recorded a game-high yardage total on the ground with the help of a 39-yard scamper, seeing his most extensive action as a running back yet this preseason. The converted wide receiver appears to have acclimated nearly seamlessly to what now may be an official position change, but it's presently difficult to ascertain exactly how Jones may fit in a crowded running back room if he indeed makes the final roster. However, were one of Roschon Johnson or Khalil Herbert were to be traded before the start of the regular season, Jones could make for an intriguing change-of-pace back behind whichever of the two remains and lead back D'Andre Swift.
Aug 11, 2024
Impresses as running back
Jones rushed six times for 34 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' 33-6 preseason win over the Bills on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
On August 6, coach Matt Eberflus vowed to experiment with Jones as a running back. Eberflus was true to his word, and Jones handled six carries with the reserves, including a 19-yard run and a short touchdown. The Bears invested a third-round pick on Jones in 2022, and aside from contributions on special teams, the team has gotten very little offensive production from him. It may be difficult for the third-year player to move into the top-three spots on the depth chart, but this showing certainly didn't hurt Jones' chances of seeing more work as a running back.
Aug 6, 2024
Getting backfield reps
Coach Matt Eberflus said Tuesday that the Bears will "experiment" with Jones at the running back position during and leading up to Saturday's road preseason game against the Bills, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Eberflus praised the "versatility of the talent and the skillsets that [Jones] offers our offense." The 2022 third-round pick has done worryingly little across two seasons with the Bears, with just four catches for 20 yards on seven targets, plus eight carries for 51 yards, across 14 regular-season games last year. It's possible that working out of the backfield can spark something for the 27-year-old, who may also benefit from the NFL's revised kick return rules this season. Still, it's difficult to imagine Jones earning consisted touches in a running back room that already houses D'Andre Swift, Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson.
Jan 8, 2024
Concludes second season in Chicago
Jones was not targeted but posted 113 kick-return yards in the Bears' 17-9 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
After being selected in the third round of the 2023 draft, Jones has not become a regular part of the Chicago offense. On the season, he caught four passes for 20 yards to go with eight rushes for 51 yards. Although Jones has two years remaining on his rookie contract, he could be battling for a roster spot in 2024.
Dec 25, 2023
Continues to see light usage
Jones rushed once for four yards in the Bears' 27-16 win over the Cardinals on Monday.
ANALYSIS
In addition to his lone rushing attempt, Jones failed to corral his only target. With 11 offensive touches on the season, his low scoring floor and lack of upside will keep him from being a reliable fantasy option unless his role changes.
Dec 17, 2023
Used as a runner in loss
Jones rushed twice for 23 yards in the Bears' 20-17 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones has 20 receiving yards and 45 rushing yards on the season. Unless his role in the offense increases, his greatest fantasy value will be in leagues that award points for kick return yardage.
Dec 10, 2023
Minimal usage in win
Jones caught one pass for 11 yards in the Bears' 28-13 win over the Lions on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones has just four catches on the season while playing less than 15 percent of the offensive snaps. Unless his role changes, his scoring floor makes him difficult to use in fantasy lineups.
Dec 10, 2023
Ready to play
Jones (illness) is active Sunday against the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Jones was a late add to the Bears' injury report Friday, but the 2022 third-round selection has recovered enough to suit up in Week 14. The 26-year-old has had a minimal role this season, but he could see a slight boost in snaps with Equanimeous St. Brown (pectoral) out.
Dec 8, 2023
Questionable for Sunday
Jones (illness) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Jones was a late addition to the Bears' injury report, as he seems to be dealing with an illness that held him out of Friday's practice. The 2022 third-round pick has been a healthy scratch in three of Chicago's last four games, so even if Jones feels well enough to play Sunday, he could very well still be inactive.
Nov 27, 2023
Active Monday
Jones is listed as active for Monday's matchup with the Vikings, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones' active status is notable, as he has been a healthy scratch the last three weeks. He will now be available to provide depth at receiver if needed, as well as contribute on special teams.
Nov 19, 2023
Healthy scratch in Week 11
Jones (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's contest with the Lions, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones will be a healthy scratch for a second straight week as Chicago squares off with Detroit. The wide receiver has been limited to just three catches for nine yards over the eight contests he's appeared in this season.
Oct 30, 2023
Minimal usage in loss
Jones caught one pass for four yards in the Bears' 30-13 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones has yet to play more than 12 percent of the offensive snaps in any game, and he has just 31 scrimmage yards on the season. His best value is in leagues that award points for return yardage, as Jones has been seeing increased use as a kickoff returner since Week 6.
Oct 22, 2023
Catches one pass in win
Jones failed to gain a yard on his only reception in the Bears' 30-12 win over the Raiders on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones has touched the ball six times for 27 yards on offense this season, and it appears that his greatest value to the team will be on special teams unless his role is changed.
Oct 15, 2023
Best game of season
Jones rushed twice for 15 yards and caught a five-yard pass in the Bears' 19-13 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones came into this game with two rushing attempts for seven yards on the season, so his 20 yards was easily his best offensive effort of the year. He'll need to build on his usage before he can be considered a reliable fantasy option.
Oct 1, 2023
One rushing attempt in loss
Jones rushed once for 10 yards in the Bears' 31-28 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones' biggest contribution to the Bears is on special teams. He's yet to see a pass target this season, but he now has two rushing attempts. HIs current role is unlikely to result in significant fantasy production.
Sep 17, 2023
Posts negative yardage in loss
Jones lost three yards on his lone rushing attempt in the Bears' 27-17 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones was inactive for the season opener, and he had a minor role in the offense upon his return. He'll need a significant change in his situation to become a reliable fantasy performer.
Sep 10, 2023
Will sit out season opener
Jones was ruled a healthy scratch ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Jones dealt with an undisclosed injury throughout training camp and was on the fringe of making Chicago's final 53-man roster ahead of the regular season. While he is now listed as healthy, the 2022 third-round pick won't get to see the field Week 1, as Tyler Scott and/or Trent Taylor will likely handle return duties on special teams while also slotting into reserve roles behind starting wideouts DJ Moore, Darnell Mooney and Chase Claypool. Equanimeous St. Brown was also ruled a healthy scratch Week 1, as it's likely he and Jones will be on the outside looking in on Chicago's wide receiver room this season.
Aug 31, 2023
Back at practice
Jones (undisclosed) was a full participant at Thursday's practice, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones was considered a fringe roster candidate throughout training camp, and although he has been nursing an undisclosed injury, he was ultimately able to show enough to make the team. While he is only expected to be a depth receiver this season, the second-year speedster is in line to return both punts and kicks.
Aug 17, 2023
Misses practice Thursday
Jones (undisclosed) was absent from Thursday's joint practice with the Colts, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not clear what caused Jones to miss the joint practice session, but Bears head coach Matt Eberflus stated that the wideout/kick returner isn't dealing with a serious injury and is with the team in Indianapolis. Jones had a rough preseason opener last week and may need to show improvement the rest of the way to earn a roster spot. If he does make the team, the 26-year-old is expected to work as the Bears' top kick returner while taking on just a minimal role on offense.
Aug 15, 2023
Fighting for roster spot
Jones muffed a punt in the Bears' first preseason game, and he may be battling to earn a roster spot, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After Jones' miscue on the punt return, the coaching staff called it a teachable moment. But after a number of costly mistakes on special teams, the 2022 third-round pick may need a strong close to camp to lock down a roster spot. Jones was drafted because of his speed and potential as a returner, and he's not expected to be in consideration for any of the top-four receiver spots.
Jun 22, 2023
Expected to battle for roster spot
Jones may be competing for a roster spot with Dante Pettis, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After being selected in the third round of the 2022 draft, Jones was most valuable as a kick returner with 642 yards. However, he recorded just 107 yards as a receiver and 103 yards on nine rushing attempts. It's possible the final wide receiver roster spots come down to special-teams play, and if Jones can impress in that capacity, he could have an edge on Pettis.
Jan 8, 2023
Usage increases late in season
Jones rushed for a 42-yard touchdown in the Bears' 29-13 loss to the Vikings in Week 18, and ended the season with seven receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown along with nine carries for 103 yards and another touchdown over 12 games played.
ANALYSIS
Jones was at his best as a kick returner during his rookie season. On offense, he didn't have more than two touches in any game, though he did play more than 15 offensive snaps for the first time all season during Weeks 15 and 16, when he averaged 34 snaps. Although he'll likely remain the team's top kick returner next year, he may also see his role in the offense expand. He's under contract through 2025.
Jan 1, 2023
Quiet in losing effort
Jones rushed once for 13 yards in the Bears' 41-10 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones was also targeted once, though the pass fell incomplete. Aside from his kick-return duties, Jones has just six receptions and right rushing attempts on the season, and his lack of volume will make him tough to trust in Week 18 fantasy lineups.
Dec 24, 2022
Catches long pass
Jones caught two passes for 52 yards in the Bears' 35-13 loss to the Bills on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones ran past two defenders which allowed Justin Fields to catch him in stride for a 44-yard reception while the Bears were trying to make a late comeback. His four targets was his highest total of the season. This was also the first time he had more than 10 receiving yards in a game. Although his performance was impressive, his lack of consistency will make him tough to trust in Week 17 fantasy lineups.
Dec 18, 2022
Loses costly fumble
Jones caught one pass for three yards and rushed once for no gain in the Bears' 25-20 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
With the Bears trying to mount a late comeback, Jones fumbled the ball, leading to an Eagles recovery and lowering Chicago's chances of pulling off an upset. On the season, he has just 75 yards while playing on offense, and his most significant fantasy value is in leagues that reward return yardage.
Dec 4, 2022
Small role in offense
Jones rushed once for one yard in the Bears' 28-19 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones' biggest contribution, as usual, was as a kick returner. He returned four kickoffs for 114 yards to go along with his one rushing attempt. On the season, he has five targets and six carries, and aside from leagues that award points for return yardage, his fantasy value is minimal right now.
Nov 27, 2022
Handles two rushing attempts
Jones rushed twice for for six yards in the Bears' 31-10 loss to the Jets on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones has 45 rushing yards and 24 receiving yards this season, and his biggest impact is as a kick returner. Aside from leagues that include kick return yardage, Jones has yet to become a fantasy factor as a receiver.
Nov 20, 2022
In line to play Sunday
Jones (coach's decision) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Jones was sidelined during each of the Bears' last two games due to a coach's decision, but he's now slated to return to action Sunday versus Atlanta and serve as Chicago's primary kick and punt returner with Khalil Herbert (hip) landing on injured reserve.
Nov 13, 2022
Healthy scratch once again
Jones (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Jones will be a healthy scratch for the second straight week after appearing in five consecutive games. The rookie third-round pick may have a difficult time seeing the field now that the Bears' wideout corps in back to full strength.
Nov 6, 2022
Healthy scratch
Jones (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Jones will be inactive for the first time since Week 3, though his absences early in the season were due to injury. He's now lost his role with both N'Keal Harry and new addition Chase Claypool active to take on Miami. Jones' absence is likely to be felt most on special teams, where Khalil Herbert and Trestan Ebner are candidates to take over as return specialists.
Oct 30, 2022
Productive as rusher
Jones caught one pass for five yards and rushed twice for 33 yards In the Bears' 49-29 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones had at least 15 yards on each of his rushing attempts, but he just missed out on a big play when Justin Fields slightly overthrew him on a deep pass after the receiver ran past a pair of defenders. With this being his most productive game of the season, the rookie will need to post more consistent production before being a player who can be relied upon in fantasy lineups.
Oct 14, 2022
Loses costly fumble
Jones rushed once for eight yards, caught one pass for 10 yards and lost a fumble on a punt return in the Bears' 12-7 loss to the Commanders on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Jones played 12 snaps and had a minor role in the Bears offense. However, his lost fumble on a punt in the fourth quarter gave the Commanders the ball deep in the red zone, which led to Washington scoring the game-winning touchdown. On the season, Jones has been targeted five times, which puts a limit on his upside until his role increases.
Oct 9, 2022
Scores on first NFL reception
Jones caught a nine-yard touchdown in the Bears' 29-22 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The rookie was targeted once on a shovel pass in the red zone. He also returned a pair of kickoffs for 39 yards. In a low-volume passing attack, Jones will need his role to expand before he can be considered a reliable fantasy option aside from leagues that include return yardage.
Oct 2, 2022
Makes NFL debut
Jones wasn't targeted in the Bears' 20-12 loss to the Giants on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jones did contribute by returning two kickoffs for 44 yards and a pair of punts for 19 yards. He missed part of training camp along with the first three games of the season with a hamstring injury. It's possible he begins to see more work on offense in the near future, but with the Bears averaging fewer than 20 pass attempts per week, there may not be many targets to go around.
Oct 2, 2022
Suiting up Sunday
Jones (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Jones got in a full practice Friday for the first time since the season began, and he will suit up Sunday for the first time as a professional. It's unclear what role he will step into, and no team has thrown for fewer yards than the Bears, so don't expect him to do much in his debut. Long-term, though, the third-round rookie could be a factor in Chicago's receiving corps.
Sep 30, 2022
Week 4 debut likely
Jones (hamstring) was a full practice participant Friday and has practiced every day this week, so the rookie third-round pick could be in line to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Giants, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports. Jones is officially listed as questionable.
ANALYSIS
Jones has missed Chicago's first three games while recovering from a hamstring injury, but he could be ready to debut in Week 4. He played alongside the starters in three-receiver sets during the preseason, but Jones may be brought along slowly in games that count and Chicago has employed the most run-heavy offensive approach of any team in the early going, so fantasy managers are best served taking a wait-and-see approach with the rookie out of Tennessee.
Sep 29, 2022
Stays limited in practice
Jones (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
The rookie wideout has now turned in four straight limited practices dating back to last week, but he might need to turn in a full session Friday to avoid taking an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Giants. Even if he remains limited Friday, Jones could still have a shot at making his NFL debut this weekend, though he likely wouldn't hold a prominent role on offense right away. The rookie is expected to make his initial impact on special teams as a return man.
Sep 28, 2022
Another limited practice
Jones (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
A rookie third-round pick, Jones has yet to make his pro debut due to a hamstring injury. He told Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com on Wednesday that he "definitely had a setback" during his recovery, but he felt "really good today." Jones likely is referencing a limited practice to begin Week 2 prep, after which he didn't get back on the field for more than a week. He's now logged three consecutive capped sessions dating back to last Thursday, which indicates he may be trending toward his first appearance of the season Sunday at the Giants.
Sep 25, 2022
Debut still on hold
Jones (hamstring) is inactive Week 3 against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Jones saw more reps on the practice field this week, but the third-round pick will ultimately sit in favor of more experienced contributors. His next chance to suit up will be Week 4 against the Giants.
Sep 23, 2022
Doubtful for Week 3
Jones (hamstring) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Jones is slowly trending in the right direction, logging limited practice Thursday and Friday after opening the week with an absence. Even so, the rookie third-round pick will most likely remain sidelined against Houston. If he sits out in Week 3, Jones' next opportunity to make his NFL debut will come in Week 4 against the Giants.
Sep 22, 2022
Logs limited practice Thursday
Jones (hamstring) was limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
This marks Jones' second time getting on the practice field this season as he attempts to put a hamstring injury behind him. If he's able to maintain or even increase his activity level at Friday's session, he could put himself in a position to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Texans.
Sep 21, 2022
DNP on Wednesday
Jones (hamstring) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
The Bears so far have filed seven injury reports this season, and Jones has been a DNP on six of them, only practicing last Wednesday in a limited capacity. A hamstring injury has been to blame and so far has delayed his pro debut. It remains to be seen when the rookie third-round pick will be cleared for game action.

Ruled out for Week 2
Jones (hamstring) won't play in Sunday's game against the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Jones has been officially ruled out for a second consecutive week. The rookie third-round pick will look to heal up in time to make his NFL debut in Week 3 against Houston.

Doubtful for Week 2
Jones (hamstring) didn't practice Friday and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Packers, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With the rookie highly likely to miss a second straight game, the Bears figure to roll with Darnell Mooney, Equanimeous St. Brown and Dante Pettis as their top three receivers again. It's unclear if Jones will shake that up once he gets healthy or if he'll merely have a depth role.

Back to no practice
Jones (hamstring) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
After a seeming test run on the field Wednesday, when he was considering limited, Jones may have taken a step back as he tends to a hamstring injury. The rookie third-round pick is seeking his pro debut, but that could be in danger if he logs another DNP to wrap up Week 2 prep.

Back at practice Wednesday
Jones (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Jones was unable to practice at all during Week 1 prep and ultimately didn't play this past Sunday against the 49ers. As such, his ability to get on the field Wednesday is a step in the right direction as he attempts to put a hamstring injury behind him. The rookie third-round pick has two more opportunities to bump up to all activity before the Bears potentially give him a designation for Sunday's game at Green Bay.

Unavailable Sunday
Jones (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Jones was limited to one appearance during exhibition season. He otherwise dealt with injuries before and after that showing in preseason Week 2, missing all three practices ahead of the opener due to a hamstring issue. In Jones' stead, Darnell Mooney, Equanimeous St. Brown, Byron Pringle, Dante Pettis and Ihmir Smith-Marsette will man wide receiver for the Bears.

Status in doubt for Week 1
Jones (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's contest against the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
An injury-plagued training camp and preseason for Jones has followed him into the regular season. Currently, a hamstring issue has been the culprit, keeping him out of all three practices this week. Assuming Jones is unable to suit up Sunday, Equanimeous St. Brown, Dante Pettis and Ihmir Smith-Marsette will be the Bears' depth wide receivers behind the top duo of Darnell Mooney and Byron Pringle.

DNP on Thursday
Jones (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Jones has been beset by injuries since early August, making just one appearance during exhibition season. Currently, a hamstring issue has kept him off the field in the first two sessions of Week 1 prep. In the end, Friday's injury report could provide clarity regarding the rookie third-round pick's availability for Sunday's game versus the 49ers.

Dealing with hamstring issue
Jones was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury.
ANALYSIS
Jones made just one appearance during exhibition season, otherwise missing time due to undisclosed injuries. The rookie third-round pick made it back to the field Monday, but Wednesday's practice report revealed the nature of his current health concern and the fact he didn't practice. Jones has two days to potentially get in some work, at which point the Bears may give him a designation for Sunday's season opener against the 49ers.

Back on practice field
Jones (undisclosed) practiced Monday as the Bears prepare for their Week 1 game against the 49ers, Courtney Cronin of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones played in the Bears' second preseason game before sitting out the third preseason contest. If he makes it through the week of practice without a setback, the team's third-round draft choice in this year's draft is expected to be one of the top-three wide receivers for Chicago as they start the season.

Sits out practice
Jones (undisclosed) missed Tuesday's practice, Courtney Cronin of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
After playing in the Bears' second preseason game against the Seahawks, Jones didn't suit up in the preseason finale against the Browns. With no word on the severity of his injury, he'll have over a week to recover in order to be ready for Week 1 against the 49ers.
Aug 27, 2022
May not play Saturday
Jones (undisclosed) missed practice Thursday and may not take the field Saturday against the Browns,
ANALYSIS
The Bears are expected to play their starters in the first half, though with Jones missing the last practice before the game, he seems to be trending toward not suiting up.
Aug 21, 2022
Likely to sit Saturday
Jones may not play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Browns, Alyssa Barbieri of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bears aren't expected to play their starters in order to avoid injury in a meaningless game. However, it wasn't stated which players were considered starters, so it's possible that more definitive word comes down closer to game time. If Jones doesn't play, we'll see him in Week 1 against the 49ers.

Sees time with starters
Jones (undisclosed) caught one of two targets for four yards while returning two punts for 47 yards and one kickoff for 31 yards in Thursday's 27-11 preseason win over Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Jones made his NFL debut after sitting out Chicago's preseason opener. The rookie third-round pick out of Tennessee saw limited usage on offense; he played on the first series with starting quarterback Justin Fields but wasn't targeted until backup Trevor Siemian entered the game. Jones was also involved on special teams and fumbled the opening kickoff, though it was thankfully recovered by a teammate.
Aug 17, 2022
Expected to make pro debut Thursday
Jones (undisclosed) should see more than the anticipated six-to-10 plays that the Bears' starters are expected to receive in Thursday's preseason game against the Seahawks, Alyssa Barbieri of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones missed Chicago's preseason opener with an undisclosed injury. During practices, he's shown speed and playmaking ability. It's looking as if he'll have a chance to flash those skills against Seattle, as he looks to earn a job as one of the Bears' top-three receivers.
Aug 16, 2022
Status uncertain for Thursday
Jones (undisclosed) was inactive last week, but if he takes the field he'll likely see six-to-10 plays in Thursday's game against the Seahawks Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones returned to practice Monday, but it's unclear as to whether he'll suit up, but if he plays, the starters' snaps are expected to be limited. Coach Matt Eberflus said that some guys will see 20 plays, so the exact playing time would be determined if Jones is available.
Aug 11, 2022
Unlikely to play Saturday
Jones (undisclosed) isn't expected to take the field for Saturday's preseason opener against the Chiefs, Alyssa Barbieri of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Jones has missed practice time due to an undisclosed injury and isn't expected to participate in Saturday's preseason game against Kansas City. The third-round draft choice is trying to secure a role as one of the top-three receivers on the team.
Aug 6, 2022
Out for second straight day
Jones did not practice for a second straight day due to an undisclosed injury, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Matt Eberflus said Jones and fellow rookie Kyler Gordon were "day to day", but withheld why both players were missing time. The Bears saw its wide receiver depth tested Saturday after N'Keal Harry (leg) and Byron Pringle (quad) were both unable to participate. While the status of either wide receiver hasn't been officially confirmed, it seems likely one or both could miss extended time during training camp which could open the door for Jones to earn valuable first-time reps whenever he's able to practice.

On to the Windy City
The Bears selected Jones in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 71st overall.
ANALYSIS
Jones began his career at USC before finishing up at Tennessee and will turn 25 in May. That age advantage naturally leads to questions about his college production, as well as whether he's topped out in terms of development. Still, Jones has tools; he led the SEC in kick-return yards in 2020 and 2021 and ran a blazing 4.31 40-yard dash at the combine. The Bears have tons of speed at receiver now between Jones, Darnell Mooney and Byron Pringle. In Jones' case, Chicago's lack of pass-catching depth could help him carve out a role early, but it's unclear if he can be more than just a speed threat.
