It was a huge night for the 22-year-old star, as he led the Habs with eight shots on net and made his last one count, snapping the puck top shelf past a screened Elvis Merzlikins inside the final minute of OT. Caufield has found the scoresheet in six of seven games to begin the season, racking up four goals and nine points -- including a goal and five points with the man advantage. The 15th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft appears to be on his way to a breakout campaign.

Caufield drove the net and redirected a pass inside the right post; it was his fourth game in the NHL. The sniper has had some season. He scored four points, including three goals, in a two-game stint in the AHL after winning the Hobey Baker Award on the back of a 30-goal, 22-assist performance in 31 games with Wisconsin this season. Caufield has a bright future ahead of him and he needs to be a target in dynasty formats.

Caufield, Montreal's first-round pick in the 2019 draft, had a forward-high four shots in his NHL debut after leaving a successful career at the University of Wisconsin. He skated on the right wing of a line with Philip Danault and Tomas Tatar, a spot that had belonged to Brendan Gallagher before he went down with a thumb injury. He also spent time on Montreal's power play. It's uncertain if Caufield will continue on the active roster once Paul Byron (lower body) and Jonathan Drouin (non-COVID illness) are ready to play.
