It’s an early week for many NFL teams. On Thursday, there’s a tripleheader of NFL action. In addition, there are two more games on Saturday, a bunch of games on Sunday, and another Monday Night Football game to close out the week.
Many teams are still fighting for playoff spots. Others are trying to figure out where they’ll be drafting. We’ll review all of that and discuss some of the biggest games entering Week 17.
Check out the football predictions and the NFL odds week 17.
NFL Odds Week 17 At-a-Glance
The Carolina Panthers currently lead the NFC South, but are massive underdogs against the Seattle Seahawks this week. Meanwhile, Seattle has already clinched a playoff berth, sitting at 12-3 in the NFC. They’re still fighting for home-field advantage, so Seattle certainly won’t take that game off.
On the other hand, the AFC has only two teams that have clinched playoff berths so far. Even 11-4 Jacksonville still hasn’t clinched a playoff spot, despite an 8-2 conference record.
Some significant matchups could help shake up the playoff picture. We’ll talk about them and their football betting lines below.
Baltimore Ravens vs. Green Bay Packers (-2.5 -110)
Saturday, December 27 – 01:00 PM ET
The Ravens and Packers are set to play on Saturday night at Lambeau Field.
The Ravens listed Lamar Jackson as questionable with a back injury, though he never returned to the game last week on Sunday Night in Baltimore’s loss to the Patriots.
Meanwhile, the Packers are still fighting for an NFC Wild Card berth with nine wins on the resume. Green Bay has lost two games by one score, including last week’s heartbreaker to the Bears. The Packers made a blunder on an onside kick and allowed the Bears back in the game.
That said, Jordan Love left the game with a concussion and might not even be able to play in this game, either. Malik Wilis looks reasonably compatible. At home, the Packers are -2.5 point favorites, and it hasn’t changed since.
New York Giants vs. Las Vegas Raiders (+1.5 -105)
Sunday, December 29 – 04:05 PM ET
This isn’t about the playoffs. It’s instead about the No. 1 overall pick. The Raiders and Giants are tied for the NFL’s worst record. Whoever loses this game will likely get the No. 1 pick.
But ultimately, the Giants, under Mike Kafka, look absolutely terrible. The interim head coach has undermined Jaxson Dart’s confidence. He’s ruined Dart’s rookie season.
On the other hand, Pete Carroll and the Raiders came close to upsetting the Texans last week. It’s hard to take the Giants, led by Kafka, over a coaching legend like Carroll.
With the Raiders at home, Las Vegas has shifted from +3 (-110) to -1.5 (+100) since opening. The oddsmakers and sharps agree with my take.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Atlanta Falcons (+8.5 -110)
Sunday, December 29 – 08:20 PM ET
The Los Angeles Rams couldn’t beat the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football last week in an overtime thriller. They’ll have so much time to prepare for this next game against the Atlanta Falcons, who are already eliminated from the playoffs.
The Rams are still not out of the race for first place in the NFC West. It’ll be hard after losing to the Seahawks, but it’s not impossible. Look for the Rams to run up the score on the Falcons, even on the road, thanks to literally a week and a half of preparation.
The Rams haven’t moved from -8.5 yet. But don’t be surprised if they’re at least -9.5 by game time.
Stay Aware In Week 17!
In the NFC, five teams have clinched a playoff berth. However, in the AFC, only two teams have clinched a playoff berth. With two weeks left, there’s going to be a lot of intriguing matchups. We all might be out of nails by the time these games are finished in Week 17.
