WNBA Top Picks for August 5: Don’t Bank On Kelsey Mitchell Tonight

There are five games on tonight’s WNBA odds board, including multiple games on national television.

The Dallas Wings will battle the New York Liberty on the road. While the Liberty won’t have Breanna Stewart anytime soon, they’re still 10.5-point favorites against Paige Bueckers and the Wings. You can find this game on NBA TV at 7:00 pm ET.

Additionally, the Indiana Fever will take on the Los Angeles Sparks at 10:00 pm ET on CBS Sports Network. Caitlin Clark won’t be available due to a groin injury, but the Fever really haven’t missed a beat without her. They’re now 17-12 on the season and have won five straight games.

Finally, the biggest game of the night will be the Minnesota Lynx against the Seattle Storm. The Lynx are 24-5 but underdogs on the road against the Storm. That’s ultimately because the Lynx are playing without Napheesa Collier, who is dealing with a sprained ankle.

Many of the top WNBA players aren’t available tonight. That just means others will need to step up. Let’s take a look at the best value picks for this evening!

Dallas Wings vs. New York Liberty

Tuesday, August 05, 2025 – 7:00 PM EDT at Barclays Center

Natasha Cloud of the Liberty has earned at least seven assists in three of her last five games. She’s also had continued success against the Wings when it comes to assists throughout her career. That’s one prop to consider for tonight’s slate.

The Liberty Will Be On Cloud Nine!

Natasha Cloud has distributed at least seven assists in three of her last five games. She’s also averaged seven assists per game in her last 11 games against the Dallas Wings since 2022.

Furthermore, the Wings rank 13th in the WNBA in assists allowed to guards. They’ve allowed the most assists per game this season overall, too.

Although Breanna Stewart won’t be on the floor, the Liberty still have a bunch of offensive weapons that can help Cloud add at least seven assists tonight.

After all, she’s averaged just 1.3 turnovers per game over the last ten games, and has contributed 29 minutes per game, while adding more than six assists per game over the last five games. Head over to Caesars Sportsbook and lock in your bet before the odds shift!

Indiana Fever vs. Los Angeles Sparks

Tuesday, August 05, 2025 – 10:00 PM EDT at crypto.com Arena

Kelsey Mitchell has a points prop of 20.5 points. However, she’s only added at least 21 points in 35% of games this season. Against the Sparks, she doesn’t exactly have the best matchup, either. Consider the Under here.

The Inconsistency Isn’t Good For Kelsey Mitchell

The Indiana Fever need others to step up with Caitlin Clark unable to play. Mitchell has done that. She’s had games with 21+ points in four of her last six games. However, in the other two games, Mitchell finished with eight and nine points, respectively.

In addition, she’s averaged 16.9 points per game in her last 11 games against the Sparks, dating back to 2022. She’s also hit this line in just 35% of games this season and in four of her last ten games. She’s had some of these duds with Clark unavailable.

Plus, the Sparks rank 5th in the WNBA in points per game allowed to shooting guards. That’s slightly above average. Take Mitchell to earn below 20.5 points tonight at Caesars.

Minnesota Lynx vs. Seattle Storm

Tuesday, August 05, 2025 – 10:00 PM EDT at Climate Pledge Arena

Courtney Williams is a rising star in the WNBA for more reasons than just basketball. But she’s not the best scorer. After all, she’s only added at least 14 points in 42% of games this season and has earned 14+ points in just one of her last five games. The Under is appealing tonight.

This Isn’t A Good Matchup For Williams

Courney Williams has recorded at least 14 points in just 42% of games this season. She’s also hit this line in just one of her last seven games and has scored just 8.9 points per game in her last 13 career games against the Seattle Storm. As a matter of fact, she’s hit this line in just two of those 13 games against the Storm dating back to 2022.

Ultimately, the Storm ranks No. 1 in the WNBA in points allowed to shooting guards. They’re also third in the WNBA in points allowed overall.

Williams has shot just 36.5% against the Storm in those games. She’s also hit just 45.3% from the field over the last ten games this season.

Let’s take the under at Caesars.
