2025 Wyndham Championship
Thursday, July 31, 2025 – 06:30 PM EDT at Sedgefield Country Club
Wyndham Championship Course Preview: What to Expect at Sedgefield Country Club
This week sees plenty at stake on the PGA Tour with the Wyndham Championship deciding the top 125 on the money list along with affirming next week’s event (which is limited to the top 70) and the start of the lucrative run-in of the FedEx Cup.
The Ross Course was named after the esteemed designer Donald Ross, with his signature need for accuracy tee-to-green. With just over 7000 yards and a par 70, the track suits strong, accurate tee-to-green players who can putt well on the lightning-fast Bermuda grass greens.
Alex Smalley Betting Preview: Back the Hometown Favorite at Wyndham Championship
Alex Smalley is no small number this week despite his price at Bet365 (check our Bet365 Review).
It feels like 2025 has been a year of underachievement so far for the New York-born golfer. His bare results do not reflect the standard of golf that the strokes-gained statistic has indicated over the season. Despite being around the top 10 on that stat, his FedEx ranking is currently #77.
Last week was indicative of Smalley’s travails. He started poorly in Round 1, only to produce a brilliant five-under-par round 2 and eventually finish 40th.
This week is one that Smalley looks forward to annually, as the Sedgefield Country Club is his local course. He knows it like the back of his hand.
Still a maiden on the PGA Tour, it means it is hard to be over optimistic about Smalley’s chances of winning. However, his chances of a high finish must be increased by his local knowledge and brilliant overall play.
We suggest you bet the home boy in top 10 (+700) and top 20 (+275) props markets.
Wyndham Championship Sleepers: Kisner and Snedeker Offer Sneaky Value at Sedgefield
There are many years of form to analyze for this renewal of the Wyndham Championship, and they shine a light on a particular player type that thrives at Sedgefield Country Club.
Kevin Kisner
It has only been a few weeks since the forty-year-old from South Carolina finished 8th at the Isco Championship and reminded his fans of the form that won him four PGA Tour titles.
Last week was also promising for Kisner. He finished 28th on a track where his lack of length would have penalised him.
He is also a recent champion at the Ross Course in 2021.
Brandt Snedeker
Brandt Snedeker has a goliath of a record here as well, with two wins and four other top 10 finishes.
A couple of months ago, Snedeker made the top 10 of the Memorial Tournament with a brilliant last round of 65, which would eventually see the forty-four-year-old finish 7th. Interestingly, he has a FedEx standing of #125 heading into this week.
So much to play for.
Back Snedeker for Top 20, Kisner for a Top-10 Long Shot
Keep stakes small this week.
However, given his incentive for a strong showing, take Brandt Snedeker to have a solid week and make the top 20 (priced around +800). Keep his playing privileges for 2026, along with a speculative top 10 small stakes bet on Kevin Kisner (priced around +2500).
