Keep up with the latest injuries from the Kings vs Trail Blazers game on Thursday with our National Basketball Association injury report.Nov 5, 2025
Undergoes surgery; out 8-12 weeks
Wesley underwent a successful procedure to repair a fracture of the fifth metatarsal base in his right foot Wednesday, and he's expected to be sidelined for 8-12 weeks, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A fifth metatarsal fracture is a notoriously tough injury to recover from, and there's a high chance of experiencing a setback if brought back too soon, so it wouldn't be shocking to see his absence extend beyond this 12-week window. At minimum, he'll be out through the end of December, so he can safely remain on the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.
Nov 2, 2025
Out indefinitely
Wesley suffered a fifth metatarsal fracture in his right foot and will be sidelined indefinitely, Sean Highkin of Rip City Radio 620 Portland reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley sustained the injury in Friday's win over Denver, during which he posted five points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two assists and two steals across 10 minutes. With the 22-year-old guard sidelined, Shaedon Sharpe, Rayan Rupert and two-way player Caleb Love are candidates for a bump in minutes. Over six regular-season appearances, Wesley has averaged 6.0 points, 3.2 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals across 16.3 minutes per contest.
Oct 27, 2025
Fares well off bench
Wesley finished Sunday's 114-107 loss to the Clippers with six points (2-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 17 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Wesley hasn't been shooting the ball well through three games with a 33.3 percent mark from the field, but he's doing a solid job as the backup point guard behind Jrue Holiday. He's averaging 5.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals in 17.3 minutes per contest, and he's likely to hold onto the role until Scoot Henderson (hamstring) gets the green light to return.
Oct 11, 2025
Contributes 13 points from bench
Wesley tallied 13 points (5-6 FG, 3-3 FT, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds, an assist and a steal across 19 minutes during Friday's 124-123 preseason win over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Wesley agreed to a one-year deal with Portland after a circuitous trip through the waiver wire. Waived by the Wizards, Wesley will attempt to jumpstart his pro career after failing to catch on with the Spurs during a three-year stint. Wesley is unlikely to make a fantasy impact with many established players above him on the depth chart.
Jul 22, 2025
Joining Portland
Wesley and the Trail Blazers agreed to a one-year deal on Tuesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley, who was recently waived by the Wizards, was scooped up quickly by Portland. Wesley spent the past three seasons in San Antonio where he accumulated career regular-season averages of 4.3 points, 2.4 assists and 1.2 rebounds on 40.9 percent shooting from the field. He'll be facing an uphill battle for playing time in Portland, however.
Jul 19, 2025
Waived by Washington
Wesley was waived by the Wizards on Saturday, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley was acquired by the Wizards in the deal that sent Kelly Olynyk (heel) to the Spurs, but the guard won't suit up for Washington. He averaged 3.7 points, 2.0 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 11.8 minutes across 58 games during the 2024-25 season. Still just 22 years old, Wesley will likely land another opportunity, though it may come in the form of a two-way contract or a G League role.
Jul 8, 2025
Moved to Washington
The Spurs traded Wesley, Malaki Branham and a 2026 second-round pick to the Wizards for Kelly Olynyk (heel), Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley is joining the Wizards after spending three seasons with the Spurs, most recently averaging 3.7 points, 2.0 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 11.8 minutes across 58 games during the 2024-25 campaign. The young guard joins a crowded backcourt that includes recent additions like veteran CJ McCollum and 2025 NBA Draft No. 6 overall pick Tre Johnson.
Apr 14, 2025
Notches eight points
Wesley finished with eight points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound, four assists and two steals across 20 minutes during Sunday's 125-118 win over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Playing in his third NBA season, Wesley had yet another quiet campaign. Across 37 regular-season appearances, Wesley shot 43.5 percent from the field, 29.3 percent from beyond the arc and 62.3 percent from the line with 3.7 points, 1.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.3 three-pointers. He'll enter the final season of his contract in 2025-26 valued at $4.73 million.
Apr 3, 2025
Scores season-high 15 points
Wesley produced 15 points (5-6 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes during Wednesday's 113-106 victory over Denver.
ANALYSIS
Wesley joined Malaki Branham and Sandro Mamukelashvili in scoring double-digit points off San Antonio's bench in Wednesday's win. Wesley has become a consistent part of the Spurs' rotation, averaging 20.2 minutes per contest across his last 10 appearances. The 22-year-old guard has also been very efficient from beyond the arc over that span, converting 47.6 percent of his 2.1 three-point attempts per contest.
Mar 31, 2025
Sees 27 minutes
Wesley accumulated five points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-4 FT), two rebounds, two assists and two steals across 27 minutes during Sunday's 148-106 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Wesley has been getting more opportunities with the Spurs, but his fantasy production has left a lot to be desired. Over his last eight games, Wesley has produced averages of 5.9 points, 2.3 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 0.9 three-pointers in 20.4 minutes.
Mar 18, 2025
Strong showing off bench
Wesley closed Monday's 125-109 loss to the Lakers with seven points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals in 22 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Wesley posted a solid all-around line in the loss, but lines like these have been few and far between -- he was coming off a scoreless outing in 10 minutes against the Pelicans on Saturday. The Spurs are 13th in the Western Conference and De'Aaron Fox (finger) is done for the season, so Wesley could find more opportunities down the stretch.
Mar 15, 2025
Emerges with 10 points off bench
Wesley finished with 10 points (3-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals over 24 minutes during Friday's 145-134 loss to Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
The 2022 first-rounder logged his most minutes since the Dec. 13 win over Portland, and his 10 points were his most since way back on Nov. 26. Although it was rookie first-rounder Stephon Castle who stepped into the starting lineup, it would appear initially that Wesley is also one of the direct beneficiaries of the absence of De'Aaron Fox (finger) for the remainder of 2024-25. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on Wesley's role moving ahead.
Nov 27, 2024
Notches 11 points
Wesley produced 11 points (4-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, four assists and two steals in 22 minutes during Tuesday's 128-115 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Wesley saw his largest workload of the season Tuesday and made the most of his minutes. However, the Spurs will be getting Devin Vassell (knee) back in action Wednesday, so Wesley will face an uphill battle for consistent minutes when the Spurs are close to full strength.
Nov 8, 2024
Near double-double off bench
Wesley ended Thursday's 118-105 victory over the Trail Blazers with 10 points (4-4 FG, 2-2 FT), one rebound, eight assists and two steals in 21 minutes.
ANALYSIS
With Jeremy Sochan (thumb), Devin Vassell (foot) and Tre Jones (ankle) sidelined and Malaki Branham (ankle) leaving the contest early, Wesley saw an increased role and made the most of it, recording season highs in points, assists, steals and minutes played. It was only the fourth time Wesley played double-digit minutes this season, and despite the solid performance, he'll likely remain in a limited role. Sochan is expected to miss multiple weeks, but Vassell has been cleared to make his season debut Saturday, while Jones and Branham could be back sooner than later.
Oct 31, 2024
Logs season-high 13 minutes
Wesley amassed five points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and one rebound in 13 minutes during Wednesday's 105-93 loss to Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
Wesley logged a season-high in minutes, a feat that is not that impressive given his previous high was 12. A portion of his playing time came at the backend of the game, once the result was decided. Even with the Spurs' guard depth a little thin, Wesley has been unable to carve out a meaningful role. Barring a significant shift in their rotations, Wesley is not someone who needs to be considered in standard formats.
Oct 18, 2024
Has option picked up
Wesley had his fourth-year team option picked up by the Spurs on Friday, Ty Jager of FanSided.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley averaged 5.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.3 blocks and 0.4 triples across 17.0 minutes in the final 20 games of his sophomore season in San Antonio. Although his option was picked up, the guard will presumably have to earn a spot providing depth in the backcourt once the regular season tips off.
Apr 15, 2024
Career-best numbers in finale
Wesley closed Sunday's 123-95 win over Detroit with 17 points (7-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, five assists and three steals across 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The 17 points were a career high for the second-year guard, while the boards and steals tied his previous highs. Wesley is still struggling to establish himself in the Spurs' backcourt rotation after being the 25th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, but he at least heads into the offseason with a bit of confidence.
Apr 12, 2024
Draws rare start
Wesley is starting Friday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
This marks Wesley's second start of the 2023-24 campaign, with his last dating back to Jan. 24 against the Thunder. He should get plenty of looks Friday due to the absence of Malaki Branham (concussion).
Mar 24, 2024
Produces in limited minutes
Wesley ended with 12 points (4-5 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, three assists, one block and two steals over 19 minutes during Saturday's 131-106 loss to Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
Wesley took advantage of the minutes he saw off the bench in a blowout loss, missing just one shot from the field and ending as one of the few bright spots on a Spurs team that looked overmatched on both ends of the court. Wesley should continue to see minutes off the bench in the final weeks of the regular season, and it wouldn't be surprising if he makes a start here or there. too.
Mar 8, 2024
Efficient outing in loss
Wesley produced 11 points (5-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt), one rebound, three assists, one block and one steal in 17 minutes during Thursday's 131-129 loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Welsey was efficient from the field and scored his most points since Jan. 24, which was much-needed for a Spurs squad playing without Victor Wembanyama (ankle). Wesley has played double-digit minutes in 23 of the Spurs' last 24 games, but he's averaging just 5.3 points, 3.3 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 16.7 minutes during that stretch.
Feb 8, 2024
Seven assists off the bench
Wesley tallied 10 points (4-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, seven assists and one steal over 25 minutes in Thursday's 127-111 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Wesley has now registered six-plus assists in three of his last four appearances. He also cracked 25 minutes of playing time for the first time since Jan. 24 against the Thunder. The second-year guard out of Notre Dame could carve himself some more minutes in reserve moving forward if he continues to be as productive as he was Thursday.
Jan 25, 2024
Scores 12 in first start of season
Wesley finished Wednesday's 140-114 loss to Oklahoma City with 12 points (5-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-3 FT), four rebounds, six assists and one block in 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Wesley got the start Wednesday against the Thunder for Tre Jones, who was ruled out with a left ankle sprain. It was Wesley's first start of the season, and he ended up producing season highs in points and minutes played. He could see action in the starting lineup Friday against the Trail Blazers if Jones is held out again.
Jan 24, 2024
Gets starting nod
Wesley is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Thunder, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley will replace Tre Jones (ankle) in the starting lineup Wednesday. Wesley will make his first start of the season against Oklahoma City.
Jan 16, 2024
Limited again in loss
Wesley notched three points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and three assists across 13 minutes during Monday's 109-99 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Wesley played fewer than 15 minutes for the third time in the past four games, offering nothing in terms of fantasy production. Although he has been a regular piece in the rotation over the past month, Wesley is outside the top 400 in that time. Even managers in deeper formats would be better streaming than acquiring Wesley.
Jan 5, 2024
Scoreless in 15 minutes
Wesley supplied zero points (0-1 FG), one rebound and one assist in 15 minutes during Thursday's 125-121 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Wesley has played at least 15 minutes in three straight games. However, after totaling 11 points, seven assists, three rebounds and two steals in 38 minutes over two appearances, he failed to contribute Friday. If Doug McDermott (forearm) and Malaki Branham (ankle) remain sidelined, Wesley could continue to play a rotational role off the bench, but the 2022 first-round pick doesn't need to be on radars in standard fantasy leagues.
Dec 9, 2023
Assigned to Austin
The Spurs assigned Wesley to the Austin Spurs of the G League on Saturday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley is averaging just 1.4 points and 1.0 assists in 4.8 minutes across his five NBA appearances this season. The 20-year-old guard should receive extended playing time with the Austin Spurs to aid in his development.
Dec 7, 2023
Moving back to NBA
San Antonio recalled Wesley from the G League's Austin Spurs on Thursday, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley will return to the NBA after a brief stint in the G League. However, the second-year guard is unlikely to be a significant part of San Antonio's rotation.
Dec 2, 2023
Heading back to G League
The Spurs assigned Wesley to the Austin Spurs of the G League on Saturday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley is averaging 1.4 points in 4.8 minutes across his five NBA appearances this season. The 20-year-old guard should receive increased opportunities in the G League.
Nov 20, 2023
Recalled by San Antonio
Wesley was recalled from the G League's Austin Spurs on Monday, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley was assigned to the G League on Sunday but will rejoin the parent club a day later. He'll be available for Monday's game against the Clippers but is unlikely to play a significant role.
Oct 23, 2023
Team option picked up
The Spurs exercised the third-year team option in Wesley's contract Monday, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley was selected by the Spurs with the 25th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, and he averaged 5.0 points, 2.7 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 18.1 minutes per game over 37 appearances as a rookie. Despite missing time with a torn MCL over the first half of the season, he managed to carve out a relatively consistent bench role late in the year and will remain with the club through at least the 2024-25 season.
Apr 8, 2023
Scores career-high 14 points
Wesley ended with 14 points (6-9 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals across 34 minutes during Saturday's 151-131 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Wesley cobbled together the best game of his young career, playing 34 minutes in the loss. Despite being an every-night part of the rotation over the past two months, Wesley has been largely disappointing. During that time, he is well outside the top 400 in nine-category formats, meaning this should be viewed as an outlier as opposed to what to expect moving forward.
Mar 16, 2023
Impresses off bench Wednesday
Wesley tallied 11 points (4-10 FG, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, four assists and three steals in 23 minutes in Wednesday's 137-128 overtime loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
After logging a combined 46 minutes a night earlier between the G League's Austin Spurs and the NBA team, Wesley didn't get any rest Wednesday while San Antonio played the second leg of a back-to-back set. With a number of Spurs rotation players sitting out against Dallas, Wesley maintained an elevated role off the bench and was able to produce a solid all-around line. Given the Spurs' status as a non-contender, the team's veterans are likely to be subject to frequent rest days, so the rookie Wesley looks as though he could have some staying power as a regular on the second unit even though he doesn't necessarily project to be a rotation player when the team is at full strength. Wesley has found a path to double-digit minutes in all but one of San Antonio's last 12 games and is averaging 6.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.9 assists and 0.7 three-pointers over that stretch, but he's shooting just 31.6 percent from the field.
Mar 15, 2023
Dishes out season-high seven dimes
Wesley accumulated eight points (3-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt), two rebounds and seven assists across 23 minutes during Tuesday's 132-114 victory over Orlando.
ANALYSIS
With Romeo Langford (thigh), Tre Jones (illness) and Malaki Branham (shoulder) all out, Wesley saw extended playing time again and posted a season-high seven assists. The rookie first-round pick has played at least 15 minutes in each of his past 10 appearances and is averaging 5.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 21.0 minutes during that stretch.
Mar 11, 2023
Rejoins Spurs
The Spurs recalled Wesley from the G League on Saturday, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley dropped 30 points for the team's Austin affiliate Friday evening, and he'll return to San Antonio on Saturday. However, his path to playing time isn't nearly as clear with the regulars all healthy.
Mar 1, 2023
Solid two-way effort Tuesday
Wesley contributed nine points (3-5 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and three steals across 21 minutes during Tuesday's 102-94 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Wesley racked up a career-high three steals in the win, as he begins to carve out a somewhat consistent role for himself. He has now played at least 20 minutes in three straight games, proving his worth on both ends of the floor. Malakai Branham (hip) was unable to finish the game, meaning there could be even more minutes available for Wesley, at least in the short term. He probably isn't a must-roster player in standard formats, although managers with some breathing room could consider grabbing him to see what happens against the Pacers on Thursday.
Feb 11, 2023
Heads to bench with Jones back
Wesley will come off the bench Saturday at Atlanta, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley heads back to a bench role with Tre Jones (foot) returning. In his prior seven appearances off the bench, Wesley averaged 3.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 12.9 minutes.
Feb 10, 2023
Gets starting nod
Wesley is in the starting five for Friday's game versus the Pistons, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley will make his first start of the season Friday. The rookie guard is averaging 4.2 points, 1.4 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 13.0 minutes across his last five outings.
Feb 8, 2023
Goes for 28 points Sunday
Wesley had 28 points (10-18 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five rebounds, four assists and a steal across 33 minutes in Sunday's loss to Iowa.
ANALYSIS
Wesley was impressive Sunday and had another impressive outing, though that has been common for him at the G League level. He's averaging 20.0 points per game across 10 outings this season.
Feb 6, 2023
Bck to NBA
San Antonio recalled Wesley from the G League's Austin Spurs on Monday and will be available versus Chicago, Ty Jager of PoundingTheRock.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley and Dominick Barlow were both elevated from the G League and will be available Monday. Wesley played 18 points and scored nine points during the Spurs' previous contest and figures to see a similar role against the Bulls, as Tre Jones (foot), Romeo Langford (thigh), Jeremy Sochan (back) and Devin Vassell (knee) have all been ruled out.
Feb 4, 2023
Sent to G League
Wesley was assigned to the Austin Spurs on Saturday, Ty Jager of PoundingTheRock.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley has bounced back and forth between the NBA and the G League all season and will likely only be in Austin for a limited time. He has seen plenty of run with San Antonio as of late with the team battling a slew of injuries.
Feb 3, 2023
Rejoins parent club
Wesley was recalled from the G League's Austin Spurs on Friday, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley was assigned to the G League club Thursday, but he'll rejoin the parent club following a brief stint in Austin. He's appeared in San Antonio's last four matchups, averaging 1.5 points in 9.0 minutes per game.
Feb 2, 2023
Sent back to G League
The Spurs assigned Wesley to the Austin Spurs of the G League on Thursday, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley will return to the G League after a four-game stint in the NBA. Despite Romeo Langford being out with a hip injury and Tre Jones leaving Wednesday's contest early with a foot injury, Wesley saw only four minutes of action against the Kings.
Jan 26, 2023
Recalled by San Antonio
Wesley was recalled from the G League's Austin Spurs on Thursday, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley spent the few days in the G League but will provide additional depth for the parent club with Romeo Langford (hip) banged up. Over four NBA appearances this year, Wesley has averaged 5.8 points in 9.8 minutes per game.
Jan 17, 2023
Back to NBA
San Antonio recalled Wesley from the G League's Austin Spurs on Tuesday, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley was assigned to the G League for Austin's matchup against Stockton on Monday night, and the rookie first-round pick didn't disappoint as he scored a game-high 29 points (10-18 FG). However, he's made only four NBA appearances this season and is averaging just 5.8 points, 1.3 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 9.8 minutes.
Jan 7, 2023
Recalled, available Saturday
Wesley has been recalled ahead of Saturday's game versus the Celtics and will be available, Ty Jager of PoundingTheRock.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley hasn't appeared in an NBA game since Oct. 30, and there is no guarantee that will change Saturday with most of the regulars available for the Spurs. Even if he does, Wesley isn't a big enough contributor to jump on the fantasy radar.
Jan 1, 2023
Heading back to G League
The Spurs have assigned Wesley to the G League, independent NBA writer Matthew Tynan reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley heads back to Austin after struggling to see consistent minutes at the NBA level. He hasn't played for San Antonio since Oct. 30, but he averaged 14.7 points per game for Austin in the G League Showcase and scored 21 points in his lone regular-season appearance for them thus far.
Dec 31, 2022
Not available Saturday
Wesley won't be available for Saturday's game against Dallas for an undisclosed reason, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
ANALYSIS
The Spurs initially listed Wesley as available for Saturday's matchup, but coach Gregg Popovich said a few hours before the game that the guard won't suit up. It's unclear whether he'll head back to the G League in the coming days.
Dec 31, 2022
Available Saturday
Wesley will be available for San Antonio's matchup with the Mavericks on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Wesley has bounced back and forth between the G League and the NBA but will be back in the bigs Saturday. However, Wesley will likely not factor into the rotation considering he has appeared in just two games this season.
Dec 25, 2022
Not listed on injury report
Wesley (undisclosed) isn't listed on the injury report for Monday's game against Utah.
ANALYSIS
Wesley was surprisingly unavailable for Friday's game after not being listed on the injury report, but it appears he'll be good to go Monday. However, the rookie hasn't appeared in an NBA game since Oct. 30, so his availability shouldn't impact San Antonio's rotation.
Dec 23, 2022
Late scratch Friday
Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-NewsWesley won't be available for Friday's game against the Magic, Tom reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite being left off the injury report earlier, Wesley won't play in Friday's matchup with Orlando. It is unclear if the rookie guard will spend more time down in the G League with Austin Spurs or receive NBA opportunities in the coming weeks.
Dec 23, 2022
Slated to suit up Friday
Wesley (rest) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game against the Magic, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley was recalled from the G League's Austin Spurs on Thursday but sat out San Antonio's matchup against the Pelicans for rest purposes. However, he'll be available for the second half of the back-to-back set Friday.
Dec 22, 2022
Recalled from G League
The Spurs recalled Wesley from the Austin Spurs of the G League on Thursday, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-Newsreports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley will be inactive for Thursday's game against the Pelicans but could see action in Friday's matchup with Orlando. The rookie guard hasn't played for San Antonio since Oct. 30 due to a knee injury.
Dec 18, 2022
Logs 20 minutes in G League
Wesley (knee) played 20 minutes Friday for the G League's Austin Spurs in the club's 112-102 loss to the Mexico City Capitanes, finishing with 12 points (4-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal.
ANALYSIS
Wesley's appearance with Austin was his first in the NBA or the G League since Oct. 30, after he missed just over a month and a half with a Grade 3 MCL sprain of his left knee. According to Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News, Wesley said his knee held up well during Friday's contest, but he's still likely to make another appearance for two for Austin at the G League's showcase event in Las Vegas before likely rejoining the NBA team ahead of Thursday's game in New Orleans or Friday's game in Magic. Wesley will thus miss San Antonio's game Monday in Houston, but the rookie first-round pick could settle into a spot in the NBA team's rotation as a backup point guard by the end of the week.
Dec 13, 2022
Assigned to G League
The Spurs assigned Wesley (knee) to the Austin Spurs of the G League on Tuesday, Ty Jager of PoundingTheRock.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley has been out since late October with a Grade 3 MCL sprain. His assignment to the G League is a good sign that his rehab is progressing well and could indicate a return to action by the end of 2022. The Spurs expect Wesley to be recalled for Wednesday's game against Portland, but he will almost certainly still be ruled out.
Dec 7, 2022
Progresses to 3-on-3
Wesley participated in 3-on-3 work Wednesday for the first time since spraining his left MCL in late October, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie first-round pick made his first two NBA appearances in late October, totaling 16 points, four assists and two rebounds in 23 minutes, but he suffered a Grade 3 MCL sprain in the second contest and has been sidelined since. Wesley still has a long way to go before considering a return to game action, but it appears like he's progressing through rehab well and has a chance to suit up before the end of the calendar year.
Oct 31, 2022
Suffers torn MCL
Wesley has suffered a torn MCL and is expected to miss six to eight weeks with a torn MCL, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
ANALYSIS
This is devasting news for the rookie first-rounder who suffered the injury in just his second career outing. Wesley had averaged 8.0 points, 1.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game over his first two appearances in the league. Romeo Langford and Malaki Branham figure to see slightly increased usage with Wesley out of the lineup.
Oct 30, 2022
Won't return Sunday
Wesley has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Timberwolves due to a left knee injury, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley came off the bench once again Sunday and tallied six points (2-3 FG, 2-4 FT) and two rebounds in eight minutes prior to his departure in the second quarter. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available Wednesday against Toronto.
Oct 27, 2022
Rejoins parent club
Wesley was recalled from the G League's Austin Spurs on Thursday, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.
ANALYSIS
Wesley was sent to the G League on Monday but will rejoin San Antonio a few days later. His role for Friday's game against the Bulls will likely depend on whether Devin Vassell (knee) and Joshua Primo (glute) are able to suit up.

Up-and-down start in Vegas
Wesley finished Monday's Las Vegas Summer League game against Houston with 14 points (3-20 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 8-9 FT), six rebounds, four assists and three steals in 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
While Wesley had a woefully inefficient night from the field, it's still encouraging that the Spurs are essentially turning the reins over to the 2022 first-round pick out of Notre Dame. In Sunday's narrow loss to Golden State, Wesley posted 22 points on 7-of-20 shooting, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. As is the case with most rookie guards, efficiency could be an issue for Wesley early on, but his aggressiveness and ability to get to the free-throw line have to be viewed as positives at this stage.
