Since returning to the starting lineup eight games ago, Thomas is averaging 25.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 41 percent from deep.

Thomas produced 18 points (4-21 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 10-11 FT), five rebounds, three assists and two steals in 36 minutes before fouling out of Monday's 109-98 loss to the Warriors.

The third-year guard led his team in scoring on a night when six different Nets scored at least 12 points, but no one stepped up to secure a win. It was Thomas' lowest output in five games since moving back into the starting lineup, a stretch in which he's averaging 29.0 points, 4.0 boards, 3.0 assists, 2.6 threes and 1.4 steals while shooting 40.6 percent (13-for-32) from beyond the arc.

Thomas posted 40 points (14-26 FG, 5-11 3Pt, 7-8 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Saturday's 136-121 victory over the 76ers.

Thomas connected on a team-high-tying handful of threes while handing out a handful of assists and leading all players in Saturday's contest in scoring in a winning effort. Thomas has surpassed the 40-point mark in three times this year, doing so for the first time since posting 41 points Dec. 16 against Golden State. Thomas has now recorded five or more dimes in five outings.

Thomas notched 25 points (11-19 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, four assists and two steals across 33 minutes during Wednesday's 136-120 loss to Phoenix.

Thomas made his third straight start and continued to star offensively for Brooklyn, registering his fourth straight performance of 25 or more points. The third-year forward doesn't typically add much in the way of complementary stats, though he's been a little better in that regard of late, averaging 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals during the aforementioned four-game stretch. Though he's prone to the occasional shooting slump, Johnson has emerged as a legitimate offensive weapon this season, averaging a career-high 21.2 points through 38 games. He could raise his fantasy stock considerably if he's able to maintain his recent increase of production on the boards and on defense.

Thomas recorded 25 points (8-16 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds, one block and one steal in 31 minutes during Monday's 147-114 victory over the Jazz.

Thomas has ascended to become one of the most prolific scoring-first guards in the league, and his numbers back that up, as he has now scored 20 or more points in five of his last six contests -- including 25 or more in three outings in a row. Thomas is averaging 25.7 points per game while shooting 55.2 percent from the field during that aforementioned six-game stretch.

Thomas is starting Monday's game against the Jazz, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.

Although Cameron Johnson (personal) and Ben Simmons (back) have been cleared to return Monday, Thomas will remain in the starting lineup for a second consecutive game since Simmons is coming off the bench and Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) is out. Thomas was dominant as a starter Saturday against Houston, tallying 37 points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal in 41 minutes.

Thomas ended Saturday's 106-104 win over the Rockets with 37 points (11-19 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 12-15 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one steal across 41 minutes. He also had five turnovers.

Thomas did it all Saturday, posting his fifth game of the season with double-digit free-throws while knocking down three-plus triples for the 10th time across 36 appearances. Brooklyn's record moves to 3-9 on nights when Thomas scores at least 25 points, signifying the hero-ball nature of his role at times.

Thomas is in the starting five for Saturday's game versus Houston, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Thomas will replace Cameron Johnson (personal) in the starting lineup Saturday. Thomas is averaging 17.6 points, 2.2 assists and 1.0 rebounds in 25.8 minutes across his last five starting appearances.

Thomas amassed 25 points (7-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 10-10 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals over 28 minutes during Thursday's 96-94 loss to Minnesota.

Thomas has recorded 20 or more points off the bench in three of his last four games while tallying at least six boards in four contests.

Thomas ended Sunday's 125-114 loss to the Clippers with 20 points (8-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds and six assists across 27 minutes.

Thomas put forth another strong performance off the Nets bench, finishing second on the team in both scoring and assists over a bench-leading minute total. Thomas set a season high in assists, his fourth game with at least five dimes. Thomas has scored 20 or more points in 19 games this year, including in four of his last five contests.

Thomas ended with 33 points (13-18 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Friday's 130-112 win over the Lakers.

Thomas led all scorers with 33 points in the win, eclipsing 22 points for the third time in the past four games. Despite averaging 20.5 points per game this season, Thomas is barely inside the top 200 in nine-category leagues. He is fine to roster as long as he is shooting the ball well. If and when that changes, he can be sent back to the waiver wire.

Thomas accumulated 23 points (7-20 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 7-7 FT), two rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes during Monday's 96-95 overtime loss to Miami.

Thomas has now scored 20-plus points and attempted 20-plus shots in each of his last two appearances. His eight three-point misses Monday were his most since Dec. 16 against the Warriors when he went 5-for-13 from beyond the arc. Thomas has always been a high volume, high variance shooter, but he is shooting 31.7 percent from the field and 24.1 percent from three in six games so far in January.

Thomas had a spell in the starting unit but recently returned to the bench, and regardless of his role, most of his fantasy appeal will be tied to what he can do in the scoring column.

Thomas will come off the bench Friday at Washington.

After a string of 13 straight starts, Thomas will move back to the bench as the Nets go with a starting five of Nic Claxton, Dorian Finney-Smith, Cameron Johnson, Mikal Bridges and Spencer Dinwiddie. Posting 1-of-9 shooting from deep over his past two games while still providing consistent scoring alludes to the fact that threes account for just 29.0 percent of his shot diet -- which ranks in the 14th percentile among all shooting guards.

Thomas accumulated 23 points (8-21 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT) and two assists across 34 minutes during Friday's 122-117 loss to the Nuggets.

The third-year guard scored at least 20 points for the fourth straight game and the sixth time in the last seven, a stretch in which Thomas is averaging 24.7 points, 3.0 threes, 2.6 assists and 2.3 boards. While his current surge has come during the latest absence for Ben Simmons (back), Thomas has established himself as a key part of the Nets' offense this season and shouldn't lose his spot in the rotation even when the roster is fully healthy.

Thomas finished Wednesday's 121-102 loss to the Knicks with 20 points (8-18 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 0-1 FT), two rebounds and five assists over 32 minutes.

Thomas is proving that his prolific scoring isn't a fluke, as he has tallied at least 20 points in each of his last three appearances. The 22-year-old guard is also shooting 53.8 percent from the field and 51.9 percent from three over that span.

Thomas closed Monday's 125-108 loss to the Jazz with 32 points (12-23 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 37 minutes.

Thomas led all scorers in the game with 32 points, marking the sixth time this season he's hit the 30-point mark. The third-year pro tallied 42 points against Golden State his last time out, so he appears to be heating up again after shooting just 35.0 percent from the field over six contests prior to the two-game stretch. Thomas doesn't yield much in the way of peripheral stats, but he's offered plenty of offense with 24.4 points and 2.4 triples per contest on 45.5 percent shooting from the field over 17 games this season.

Thomas logged 41 points (15-24 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal over 37 minutes during Saturday's 124-120 loss to the Warriors.

Thomas scored at least 40 points for the first time since early November, bouncing back after a rough two weeks shooting the ball. This was the first time he has exceeded 50 percent this month, a welcome sight for those who may have been losing hope. He has been outside the top 200 over the past two weeks, highlighting the fact that when his shot isn't falling, he has very little to fall back on. Thomas remains a must-roster player but does come with some obvious fantasy flaws.

Thomas notched 24 points (6-17 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 8-8 FT), two rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 116-112 victory over the Suns.

The Suns put Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal on the court together for the first time this season, but Brooklyn spoiled the trio's debut with a balanced effort led by Thomas' 24 points. His scoring was far from efficient overall, but Thomas made up for poor shooting inside the arc with a 4-for-8 mark from deep and an 8-for-8 effort from the charity stripe. This was his best scoring performance since he scored 26 points against Charlotte on Nov. 30.

Thomas contributed six points (3-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound and one assist over 27 minutes during Wednesday's 114-113 win over Atlanta.

Wednesday's performance marked the first time this season that Thomas scored in single digits as the normally high-volume shooter shot just 10 times from the field. He also committed a season-high five turnovers in the game and struggled to produce anywhere else on the box score. He'll look to turn things around Friday against the Wizards.

Thomas totaled 20 points (7-23 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and five assists in 38 minutes during Saturday's 129-101 win over the Magic.

Thomas didn't have his best shooting performance after ending with more field goal attempts than points scored, but the volume of his shooting was enough to give him a solid fantasy stat line. Thomas has been extremely productive when deployed in a starting role and is averaging 24.9 points per game when featuring with the first unit. However, the availability of Dorian Finney-Smith (knee) will be key in determining whether Thomas will start against the Hawks on Wednesday or not.

Thomas will start Saturday's game against the Magic.

The Nets will be without Dorian Finney-Smith (foot, knee) on Saturday, so they will roll with the offensive firepower of Thomas. Thomas looked sharp in Thursday's loss to Charlotte, scoring 26 points in just 25 minutes.

Thomas racked up 26 points (11-21 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one block across 25 minutes during Thursday's 129-128 loss to Charlotte.

Thomas picked up right where he left off after missing the past nine games for Brooklyn. He did have some minute restrictions, but they are likely to be eased against the Magic on Saturday. Over his past nine games, Thomas has averaged an impressive 26.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.1 three-pointers.

Thomas (ankle) said that he is good to go for Thursday's game versus the Hornets, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports.

Thomas is set to return to action Thursday after a nine-game absence due to a left ankle sprain. The 22-year-old guard was averaging 26.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 32.4 minutes across eight appearances before going down to injury. However, Thomas will likely be on a minutes restriction as he's eased back into game shape.

Thomas (ankle) is probable for Thursday's game versus the Hornets, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports.

Thomas is expected to return to action Thursday after missing the previous nine games with a left ankle sprain. Thomas' return will likely result in decreased minutes for Spencer Dinwiddie and Dennis Smith (back).

The Nets announced Wednesday that Thomas (ankle) is showing significant improvement but won't return to team activities until next week, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.

Thomas has been cleared for individual on-court activities but still has a few hurdles to clear and will begin a return-to-play program next week. That means Thomas, who sprained his left ankle Nov. 8, will miss at least the next three games and possibly more. Ben Simmons (back) will also miss at least the next week, while Dennis Smith (back) remains day-to-day. In their absence, Lonnie Walker should continue to handle increased usage.

Thomas (ankle) won't travel with the team to Atlanta and has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup versus the Hawks, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.

Thomas, who is known for his volatile scoring booms, has now logged three consecutive 30-point games to start the season. Defenses will begin keying in on him, and his prolific efficiency can't be sustained, but his bucket getting is fueled by physicality that isn't going anywhere. His lone and perpetual weakness is a 30.8 percent clip from beyond the arc.

Thomas contributed 30 points (12-19 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 33 minutes during Friday's 125-120 loss to Dallas.

Thomas earned a spot in the starting lineup after a strong effort off the bench in the season opener, and he kept the momentum going with another stellar display on the offensive end of the court. Placing Thomas in the starting lineup moved Ben Simmons to the frontcourt, and while it remains to be seen if this will be a permanent change, Thomas should remain valuable in most fantasy formats due to his scoring ability alone.

Thomas will join the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Mavericks, Evan Barnes of Newsday Sports reports.

With Nicolas Claxton (ankle) ruled out, the Nets will move Dorian Finney-Smith and Ben Simmons to the frontcourt for a much smaller lineup. Thomas exploded for 36 points Wednesday night and will look to keep building some momentum against Dallas.

The Nets exercised Thomas' team option for 2024-25 on Thursday, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.

Thomas started his third season off in Brooklyn with a bang, dropping 36 points off the bench against Cleveland. While Thomas averaged just 16.6 minutes per contest last season, his 10.6 points per game shows he can produce when given the opportunity. The 22-year-old guard will now stay with the Nets at least through 2024-25.

Thomas, the 27th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, saw his production tick up slightly in his sophomore season and has already demonstrated he can score in bunches, but until he proves the rest of his game isn't a liability, his role and court time could fluctuate once again.

Thomas had some notable performances last season and showed he can be a valuable piece in any rotation, though it remains to be seen if he'll be deployed as a starter or off the bench in the upcoming season, with the second option being the most likely case, especially with a healthy Ben Simmons operating as a playmaker. Thomas is averaging 17.0 points per game in three preseason contests.

Thomas recorded 26 points (9-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two assists and two rebounds across 22 minutes in Monday's 129-126 loss to the Lakers.

The departure of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving opened up more opportunities for other players, but it didn't translate into a huge boost for Thomas last season. Spencer Dinwiddie will still be the featured player in the backcourt, but Thomas played alongside him during Monday's game and appeared to be a better fit than Ben Simmons and Dennis Smith, who are the other leading candidates for a backcourt role. Depending on the matchup, Mikal Bridges will occasionally slide over to off-guard alongside Dinwiddie, so the backcourt situation will likely be in flux for the time being. Thomas' output is worth monitoring as the preseason progresses.

Thomas is starting Monday's preseason game against the Lakers, Billy Reinhardt of NetsDaily.com reports.

Thomas will draw the start at small forward with Cameron Johnson sitting due to a hamstring injury. Thomas made his presence felt a season ago by dropping 40-plus points in four contests and should be heavily involved in Brooklyn's rotation heading into the 2023-24 regular season.

Thomas will return to a bench role in Saturday's Game 1 contest versus the 76ers.

Thomas tallied 46 points (16-29 FG, 6-8 FG, 8-8 FT) in the Nets' regular-season finale, as all the usual starters were rested. It remains to be seen what type of role he will play in the rotation in the playoffs.

Unfortunately, this is probably going to be his final opportunity to flaunt his stuff, given the team will now head into the postseason where the 76ers will be waiting.

Thomas will start Sunday's game against Philadelphia.

With the Nets resting several starters, Thomas will get the nod in the backcourt after picking up a DNP-CD in each of the last two games. The LSU product has flashed immense potential as a scorer, at times, this season, but his opportunities have been fairly limited of late. During a four-game stretch back in early February, Thomas averaged 38.5 points per game in 35.0 minutes, notching three consecutive 40-plus-point outings.

Thomas posted zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) in five minutes during Tuesday's 107-102 loss to the Timberwolves.

Thomas was a non-factor once again, barely seeing the floor in the loss. Outside of a couple of offensive explosions earlier in the season, Thomas has simply not been able to carve out a consistent role for himself. Looking beyond this season, it's hard to see him being anything more than a sparkplug scorer, especially given his inability to produce on the defensive end.

Thomas ended with 18 points (7-16 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds and two assists across 28 minutes during Sunday's 119-106 loss to the Magic.

With Seth Curry (personal) and Royce O'Neale (rest) out, Thomas saw an increased role and made the most of his opportunity. The second-year guard is certainly capable of explosive offensive outings, but his role is too sporadic to be trusted on a daily basis. When he's played over 20 minutes this season (24 games), Thomas has averaged 19.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 27.1 minutes with 46/40/88 shooting splits.

Thomas totaled one point (0-1 FG, 1-1 FT) in five minutes during Friday's 124-123 overtime victory over the Timberwolves.

Thomas played just five minutes in the victory, all coming in the first half. After a solid performance Thursday, it was back to the drawing board for Thomas, basically falling out of the rotation once again. Based on what we have seen when the team is healthy, Thomas is going to be on the outside looking in when it comes to playing time. At this point, he is nothing more than a streaming consideration if and when the team opts to rest its starters.

Thomas finished Sunday's 102-86 win over Charlotte with four points (2-4 FG) and two rebounds over seven minutes.

Thomas barely touched the floor in the win, a worrying sign for anyone still holding out hope that he will be fantasy-relevant down the stretch. While he clearly has the ability to score the basketball, the fact he can't get consistent minutes does highlight the fact he offers nothing on the defensive end. At this point, he should be viewed as nothing more than a streaming consideration. However, as we saw here, even that comes with some risk.

Thomas supplied 22 points (6-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-9 FT), two rebounds, three assists and two steals over 29 minutes during Sunday's 129-127 loss to the Hawks.

Thomas doesn't have a spot in the Nets' starting lineup despite being one of the most electric players in the league in early February, but that doesn't mean he can't produce and remains a reliable fantasy asset regardless of his role. He's now scored 22 points in back-to-back games and is averaging 25.7 points per game across 10 outings this month.

Thomas provided 22 points (6-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 7-9 FT), one rebound and two assists over 30 minutes during Friday's 131-87 loss to the Bulls.

It wasn't pretty and Thomas was far from efficient, but he led his team in scoring in what was a night to forget for Brooklyn. They were run out of the building by the end of the first quarter and we saw a lot of garbage time as a result. Look for Thomas to continue to be a streaky fantasy option unless his role changes.

Thomas recorded 19 points (6-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, four assists and one steal across 21 minutes during Wednesday's 116-105 win over the Heat.

Thomas produced a nice stat line in his 21 minutes with the second unit Wednesday night. The young guard will likely continue to be an inconsistent but effective spark off the bench for this new-look Brooklyn team. Don't expect him to get those 35-plus minutes anymore, but he still makes for a decent stream option in standard leagues when you are desperate for points.

Thomas racked up 14 points (7-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound and two assists across 18 minutes during Saturday's 101-98 loss to the 76ers.

Thomas moved back to the bench Saturday, ceding his starting spot to a handful of new arrivals. After an incredible run of performances, it appears as though Thomas' stint as a 12-team asset could be about to end. While he did score 14 points, the fact he offers very little outside of points means a 20-minute role is simply not going to cut it in standard formats.

Thomas will come off the bench Saturday against the 76ers, Christian Arnold of Associated Press reports.

Despite averaging 38.5 points across the past four games (three starts), Thomas heads to the bench, as coach Jacque Vaughn will give starting nods to four new players in Spencer Dinwiddie, Cameron Johnson, Mikal Bridges and Dorian Finney-Smith. Thomas still figures to have a significant role off the bench as a microwave scorer.

Thomas saw his streak of games with at least 40 points end in this game, but on the other hand, he's now registered at least 19 points for a sixth straight outing. Given all the roster changes the Nets have gone through in the last few days, don't be surprised if Thomas remains in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the 76ers, especially given how well he's been playing of late.

Thomas ended Tuesday's 116-112 loss to the Suns with 43 points (11-23 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 18-20 FT), five rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 39 minutes.

Thomas surpassed the 40-point mark for the third straight game, leading all players in Tuesday's game in scoring. Thomas has averaged 44.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists over his last three outings.

Thomas totaled 47 points (15-29 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 10-11 FT), four rebounds and three assists in 39 minutes during Monday's 124-116 loss to the Clippers.

Thomas notched a new season high in scoring behind a game-high mark from three, posting his second consecutive 40-point game. Thomas has scored 20 or more points with four or more threes in three of his last four games.

Thomas will start Monday's contest against the Clippers, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.

After erupting for 44 points off the bench in Brooklyn's previous contest, Thomas will draw the start Monday against the Clippers. With the likes of Ben Simmons (knee), Kevin Durant (knee) and Seth Curry (thigh) all ruled out, Thomas figures to once again be in line for increased usage.

Thomas notched 44 points (16-23 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT), six rebounds and five assists in 29 minutes during Saturday's 125-123 victory over the Wizards.

Thomas has had several impressive performances this season, but this one goes down as the best outing of his career by a wide margin. Despite coming off the bench, Thomas was efficient as a scorer and carried Brooklyn in what was a massive second-half comeback against the Wizards. Given the absences of several regulars such as Kyrie Irving (calf), Seth Curry (groin), Kevin Durant (knee) and Ben Simmons (knee), it wouldn't be shocking if he moves to the starting unit when the Nets take on the Clippers on Monday.

Thomas closed Monday's 121-104 victory over the Lakers with 21 points (8-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and one assist over 23 minutes.

Thomas came into Monday having scored just seven points across 22 minutes over his previous three contests, but he exceeded both those totals against the shorthanded Lakers. The second-year guard logged his most playing time since Jan. 17 and racked up his highest scoring total since he went off for 33 points against Indiana on Dec. 10. Thomas has shown the ability to be a productive scorer at times this season, but his role is too inconsistent to warrant fantasy consideration.

Thomas may see the floor some Tuesday versus the Spurs, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports.

Thomas may finally get another opportunity to rejoin the action Wednesday, with Kyrie Irving (calf) set to sit. He had recently fallen out of the rotation, but a good showing Wednesday could be parlayed into some occasional minutes.

Thomas finished Saturday's 136-133 victory over Indiana with 33 points (13-20 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT) and three rebounds over 29 minutes.

Thomas did his thing Saturday, leading the Nets with a career-high 33 points. The team was without eight regular pieces, affording Thomas plenty of usage. As we have seen in the past, he was able to flaunt his offensive skills, powering the Nets to an improbable victory. While this was a spectacular performance, he will likely shift back to a much more maligned role when they travel to Washington to face the Wizards on Monday.

Thomas closed with zero points (0-1 FG, 0-2 FT) and one rebound over four minutes during Sunday's 127-115 victory over the Grizzlies.

Thomas barely saw the court in the win, continuing a rapid fall from grace over the past week. With the Nets close to full health, Thomas has slid down the pecking order, resulting in minimal production. At this point, anyone still holding can move on, at least until the Nets encounter another injury or two.

Thomas closed Monday's 96-94 loss to the Mavericks with 19 points (5-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 7-9 FT), one rebound, two assists and two steals across 30 minutes.

The Nets are using a variety of sets as they try to make up for Kyrie Irving's suspension, and while Joe Harris is doing well in the backcourt, the Nets put Thomas in after an underwhelming start from Edmond Sumner. Thomas distinguished himself with several solid games last season as a fill-in, and his 30 minutes off the bench is a good indication that his involvement will increase this season as well.

Thomas contributed 21 points (5-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 10-11 FT), three rebounds, three assists and two steals across 29 minutes during Saturday's 98-94 victory over the Hornets.

Thomas followed up his 17-point performance in Brooklyn's previous game with a new season-high 21 points in Saturday's win. He was the only Nets player other than Kevin Durant to record more than 11 points in the contest, despite taking only four shots in the first half. The Brooklyn shooting guard added another six points from the field in the second half on 3-of-7 shooting, while nearly half of his points came at the free-throw line, where he went 10-of-11. After playing a total of just 15 minutes through his first three games, Thomas has played at least 29 minutes in each of his last two, averaging 19 points per game over that brief stretch.

Thomas notched 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, six assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Friday's 128-86 victory over the Wizards.

Thomas took full advantage as the Nets hammered the Wizards, playing the entire final quarter, ending with a season-high 17 points. Given this game was over early, managers should not overreact to this performance. With that said, he does have a proven ability to score in a hurry when afforded additional playing time, meaning he could at least have some streaming appeal until the Nets get back to full health.

Brooklyn exercised Thomas' third-year team option Monday, which keeps him under contract through the 2023-24 campaign, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports.

Thomas started two of 67 appearances as a rookie and posted 8.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists across 17.6 minutes per game. He figures to garner a similar reserve role in Year 2, but he may see expanded responsibilities to start the 2022-23 campaign with Joe Harris (ankle), Seth Curry (ankle) and T.J. Warren (foot) all likely to miss some time.

Thomas played 16 minutes in the second half, scoring 10 of his 13 points and grabbing all three of his rebounds. After an impressive Summer League, the 20-year-old is working to have a bigger role with the Nets this season. In order to do that he'll likely need to improve his shooting as he's 5-for-15 on field goal attempts in his two preseason games after shooting just 43.3 percent from the field and 27.0 percent from three point range in his rookie season.

Thomas finished Tuesday's Summer League loss to the Grizzlies with 29 points (9-19 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 11-13 FT), three assists, one rebound and one steal in 27 minutes.

Despite going cold from three, Thomas still managed 29 points on just 19 shots due to his ability to get to the charity stripe. With the Nets' future in limbo, Thomas could see an increased role next season. As a rookie, he saw 17.6 minutes per game and averaged 8.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists.

Thomas finished Sunday's Las Vegas Summer League game against the 76ers with 26 points (5-17 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 15-15 FT), seven assists, three rebounds and two steals.

After dropping 31 points in the Nets' Summer League opener Friday against Milwaukee, Thomas had another big stat line despite having an off night from an efficiency standpoint. The second-year guard out of LSU is as shoot-first as they come, and as the focal point of Brooklyn's summer roster he should continue to function as the No. 1 option. Of course, the Nets' actual roster remains very much in flux at this point, but based on how the Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving sweepstakes shake out, Thomas could find himself in a much larger role next season. As a rookie, Thomas saw action in 67 games, posting 8.5 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.7 threes in 17.6 minutes per game.

Thomas chipped in 13 points (4-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and four rebounds over 16 minutes during Tuesday's 118-105 win over the Rockets.

Thomas was efficient from the field en route to his second double-digit scoring performance since March 1. With Goran Dragic (COVID-19) and Seth Curry's (ankle) statues uncertain moving forward, the rookie flamethrower may get extended looks during the final three games of the regular season.

Thomas (back) will be available for Wednesday's game against Dallas.

The Nets wanted Thomas to warm up before making a final call on his status, and it looks like he'll push through the back injury that kept him out of Tuesday night's blowout win over Orlando. With Kyrie Irving ineligible and Seth Curry (ankle) sidelined, Thomas should be set for an increased role, assuming his back holds up.

The rookie has scored 20-plus points three times over his last four games and continues to be a go-to scorer with Kevin Durant (knee) sidelined. Thomas has played 25-plus minutes 18 times this season and has averaged 18.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists during those contests. The addition of Seth Curry has shifted Thomas to the bench, but he's capable of an offensive explosion no matter his role.

Thomas scored 22 points (8-18 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT) while adding four rebounds, four assists and a steal in 32 minutes off the bench during Saturday's 115-11 loss to the Heat.

Back with the second unit after starting the Nets' prior contest, the rookie guard had another strong performance and was the only Brooklyn player other than Kyrie Irving to manage more than 13 points on the night. Thomas has scored 17 or more points in five straight games, averaging 23.2 points, 3.6 boards, 3.0 assists, 2.2 threes and 1.2 steals in 31.8 minutes a game during that stretch.

Thomas will come off the bench Saturday against the Heat.

After a one-game stint with the starters, Thomas will return to a bench role while Bruce Brown gets the nod. In his past five games as a reserve, he's averaged 15.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 24.8 minutes.

Thomas scored 27 points (11-18 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT) while adding four rebounds and two steals in 36 minutes during Thursday's 113-112 loss to the Wizards.

Making only his second start of the season for a Brooklyn squad with a roster in flux after trading James Harden (hamstring) for Ben Simmons (personal), Thomas continues his recent strong shooting and scored 17 or more points for the fourth straight game. The 20-year-old rookie could remain in the starting five in the short term with Simmons not likely to be ready to play for a while, but Seth Curry -- who also came over from the 76ers in the Harden deal -- should be ready to suit up for Saturday's game in Miami.

Thomas will start Thursday's game against the Wizards.

The shorthanded Nets will roll with Kyrie Irving, Patty Mills, Thomas, Kessler Edwards and Blake Griffin as they look to avoid a 10th straight loss. The rookie out of LSU has fared well of late, scoring 30, 20 and 17 points, respectively, over his last three games. He's also totaled 10 rebounds, 11 assists, three steals and two blocks in that span.

Thomas registered 17 points (7-17 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal over 28 minutes during Tuesday's 126-91 loss to the Celtics.

Thomas wasn't especially efficient, but that was a problem for nearly everyone on Brooklyn's roster during the massive blowout loss. Thomas has played well lately while the Nets deal with absences, and he's racked up 67 points over the past three games. He's scored at least 11 points in every game that he's seen at least 25 minutes.

Thomas posted 30 points (11-19 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), two rebounds, four assists and one steal in 31 minutes during Friday's 125-102 loss to Utah.

The Nets might have lost Friday and continue to trend in the wrong direction, but Thomas has been impressive when given enough minutes. He's scored in double digits in all but one of the games where he's played at least 25 minutes, but the lack of consistency and his bench role certainly limit his upside going forward.

Thomas posted 25 points (8-14 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT), one rebound and one assist across 26 minutes Wednesday in the Nets' 124-118 loss to the Nuggets.

Though he supplemented his career-high scoring total with little else, Thomas' red-hot shooting helped Brooklyn stay competitive on a night in which all of James Harden (hamstring), Kyrie Irving (not eligible), Kevin Durant (knee) and Joe Harris (ankle) weren't available. Despite the big offensive outburst, Thomas can't be counted on to replicate this sort of performance heading into the Nets' next game Saturday at Golden State, where both Irving and Harden are likely to be available.

Thomas provided 20 points (9-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt), six rebounds and one steal across 35 minutes during Saturday's 120-105 victory over New Orleans.

Kevin Durant left the game with a knee injury after playing just 15 minutes, which left the door open for Thomas to play 35 minutes off the bench -- his most since playing 36 during a Dec. 18 start. Durant was diagnosed with an MCL sprain Sunday and is expected to miss at least a month, so Thomas will be a likely candidate to step up during the star forward's absence. The rookie first-round pick has played at least 20 minutes 14 times this season and has averaged 13.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists during those contests.

Thomas provided 21 points (8-18 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three rebounds and one steal over 33 minutes during Thursday's 130-109 loss to the Thunder.

Thomas ranked second on the team to James Harden with 33 minutes and 21 points in the loss. The heavy playing time was largely a result of Kevin Durant (rest), Patty Mills (rest) and Kyrie Irving (not injury related) sitting out, though Thomas has been logging minutes in the mid-to-high 20s of late. The rookie appears to have gained a foothold in the team's rotation, though his production doesn't yet warrant fantasy consideration.

Thomas amassed 11 points (4-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal over 30 minutes during Sunday's 121-119 overtime victory over San Antonio.

The rookie out of LSU hasn't always been a major factor in the rotation this season, but he's now played 28 and 30 minutes, respectively, over his last two appearances with Kyrie Irving unavailable. Thomas wasn't having an overly remarkable afternoon until he drilled the game-winning floater with just 1.7 seconds remaining in overtime. For fantasy purposes, Thomas is more of a dynasty-league hold, but he's an interesting streaming option whenever Irving sits.

Thomas finished Friday's 121-109 loss to the Bucks with 14 points (6-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, two assists and two steals over 28 minutes.

Thomas hadn't been part of the Nets' rotation across the last several games following his absence due to the league's health and safety protocols. However, he saw plenty of playing time off the bench Friday and shot 50 percent from the floor. It's not yet clear whether his increased role will continue, but he'll have more competition for playing time during the Nets' road games now that Kyrie Irving is back in action.

Thomas (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) recorded two points (1-1 FG) and three rebounds in four minutes Thursday in the Nets' 110-102 loss to the 76ers.

Thomas was previously available for Monday's 124-108 win over the Clippers, but it wasn't until Thursday that head coach Steve Nash reintegrated him in the rotation. Brooklyn is still tentatively scheduled to play Christmas Day against the Lakers, but Thomas presumably won't be available for that contest and is likely to miss additional time beyond Saturday.

Even after the NBA postponed its most recent two scheduled contests for Sunday and Tuesday, the Nets won't return enough players from injury or COVID-19 health and safety protocols five days after their last game. Before Brooklyn's shutdown, Thomas had been one of several young players who had seized hold of a larger role due to the number of absences on the roster. Brooklyn's next game is set for Christmas Day against the Lakers.

Thomas jumped into the starting lineup due to the fact that the Nets have a plethora of players unavailable, and he delivered a solid effort as a scoring threat while ending just three boards away from putting up a double-double. Thomas has now scored in double figures in five of his last six appearances.

He has began showing more confidence in recent games, as he has now scored double-digits in back-to-back contests. The rookie is starting to take advantage of no Kyrie Irving (Not Injury Related) and Joe Harris (ankle) in the lineup. While it remains unclear if the former will return at all this season, the latter is expected to be sidelined for at least another month after undergoing left ankle surgery. Thus, Thomas should continue finding opportunities to make an impression in the immediate future.

Thomas started the season at the G League but has looked excellent off the bench in recent weeks. The first-round pick in this year's draft has scored in double digits in four of his last eight appearances and while he doesn't have upside to be a game-in, game-out fantasy asset, he can be a decent streaming option depending on the matchup.

Thomas (quadriceps) is available against the Bulls on Saturday, according to Billy Reinhardt of NetsDaily.com.

Considering his previous availability status was probable, fantasy managers should not be surprised Thomas will play Saturday. He averaged 8.4 points across the Nets' last five games. While his recent scoring average is an improvement, it does not warrant fantasy consideration.

Thomas left Friday's game against the Timberwolves early after bruising his left quad. However, it looks like the team was just erring on the side of caution with the rookie, as he looks to be trending towards suiting up Saturday. Final confirmation on his status should come closer to tip-off.

Thomas won't return to Friday's game against Minnesota due to a left quadriceps contusion, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports.

Thomas logged three points (1-3 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-2 FT) and two rebounds in 18 minutes to begin Friday's contest, but he was ruled out early in the fourth quarter. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available in the second half of the back-to-back set against Chicago on Saturday.

Thomas has been included in the Brooklyn rotation in both of the past two games, totaling 11 points (4-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds and one block across 25 minutes.

Save for one missed field goal in a 10-minute cameo in last Friday's two-point win over the Magic, all of Thomas' statistical production came in Monday's narrow victory over Cleveland. The rookie first-round selection has been on the outside looking in for a rotation spot for most of the season, but the absences of Joe Harris (ankle) and Bruce Brown (hamstring) have temporarily opened up a role for Thomas. During the G League and in the Las Vegas Summer League, Thomas showed the ability to score at a prolific rate, but his contributions in most other categories have typically been lacking.

Thomas totaled 46 points (17-32 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals in Saturday's 114-110 win over the G League Raptors.

Thomas led the way to Long Island's win leading the game in scoring and shooting .531 from the field. The rookie guard should continue seeing big minutes as the star in this rotation.

Thomas recorded 35 points (10-23 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 8-8 FT), six rebounds, and two assists in Saturday nights 100-114 loss to the Blue Coats.

Thomas impressed Saturday by leading both teams in scoring and logging the most minutes amongst G League Nets starters. The 20-year-old looks to have a prominent role as part of the starting five early in this campaign.

Thomas recorded four points (0-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and one assist during a 107-101 preseason win Thursday versus Minnesota.

Though he did not play much, Thomas averaged one field-goal attempt across two minutes and missed all of them. He finished the 2021 NBA preseason averaging 10.5 points across four games. Thomas could supply sporadic value being a backup shooting guard to Joe Harris but will not be valuable if Kyrie Irving (personal) becomes available.

Thomas scored 21 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT) to go with four rebounds, two assists and a block in Sunday's 123-97 preseason win over the Lakers.

After averaging 23.0 points per game during his lone year at LSU and 27.0 points per game across Summer League, Thomas once again showed his abilities to score the ball. The rookie's 21 points and 14 shot attempts both were team-highs for Brooklyn. The Nets are full of veterans, so playing may not come easy for Thomas, but the No. 27th overall pick of the draft continues to show his scoring prowess with a strong preseason opener.

Thomas was named Co-MVP of the 2021 Summer League along with the Kings' Davion Mitchell, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Thomas was the 27th overall pick in this year's draft, and he demonstrated his microwave scoring ability in summer play. The 19-year-old guard out of LSU averaged 27.0 points on 42/36/85 shooting splits. While he nearly committed twice as many turnovers (3.8) as assists (2.0), he was making up for it with his scoring. With the Nets this season, Thomas figures to compete with Patty Mills and Jevon Carter for reserve minutes in the backcourt.

Thomas went for 36 points (11-25 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 11-11 FT) in the Nets' MGM Resorts Summer League win over the Spurs on Sunday.

The first-round pick out of LSU continues to turn heads in Las Vegas, as he's already established himself as perhaps the best pure scorer at Summer League. Thomas accounted for more than a third of Brooklyn's point total Sunday -- three days after he torched the Wizards for 31 points, including the game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer. On Wednesday against Milwaukee, Thomas posted 22 points on 6-of-14 shooting (7-10 FT) in 30 minutes off the bench. Of course, once the regular season rolls around, Thomas will take a backseat to the Nets' three stars and capable veteran role players, but he's already shown enough in Las Vegas to suggest that he'll have a chance to make an impact as an instant-offense bench piece in Year 1.
