Keep up with the latest injuries from the Raptors vs Bucks game on Thursday with our National Basketball Association injury report.Dec 2, 2025
Limited to five minutes
Anthony amassed no counting stats in five minutes during Monday's 129-126 loss to the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Kevin Porter left this game early with back spasms, but he's considered day-to-day. Anthony has pretty much become a non-factor for the Bucks and is on the outside looking in as far as the rotation goes.
Nov 25, 2025
Catches fire in loss
Anthony finished with 16 points (8-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals over 18 minutes during Monday's 115-103 loss to the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony did his best to pull Milwaukee back into this game, at one point scoring eight straight points late into the third and early fourth quarter. He hasn't been able to step into a larger role with Giannis Antetokounmpo (groin) sidelined and continues to have issues in terms of inefficient shooting and high turnovers. He can occasionally pull together a big game or get hot like he did on Monday night, but Anthony is just far too inconsistent to see his role elevated beyond what it is right now.
Nov 18, 2025
Dishes eight assists in loss
Anthony closed Monday's 118-106 loss to the Cavaliers with four points (2-8 FG), one rebound and eight assists over 22 minutes.
ANALYSIS
While Anthony's scoring numbers have been down recently, averaging 4.4 points on 25.6 percent from the field and 16.7 percent from three in his last five games, he has also been setting up his teammates for with shots, averaging 5.2 assists in that span. Anthony will continue to back up Ryan Rollins as the team's facilitator among the second unit.
Nov 9, 2025
Productive off bench in loss
Anthony posted 12 points (5-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one block in 18 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 122-115 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
The six assists led the Bucks on the afternoon, while the five boards were a season high for Anthony. The former Orlando guard has scored in double digits in five of the last six games, averaging 10.8 points, 4.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.2 threes over that stretch in just 20.2 minutes a contest from the second unit.
Nov 5, 2025
Scores 12 in loss
Anthony accumulated 12 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 24 minutes during Tuesday's 128-100 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has been a steady presence off the bench for Milwaukee, averaging 11.1 points, 5.1 assists, 3.3 rebounds, 0.7 steals, 0.6 blocks and 1.1 threes made. With Kevin Porter (knee) out for the forseeable future, Anthony will continue seeing minutes at point guard behind Ryan Rollins.
Nov 1, 2025
Ejected Saturday
Anthony was ejected from Saturday's game against the Kings with two technical fouls, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony logged 13 minutes in this contest before getting tossed, finishing with three points, five assists and two rebounds. Ryan Rollins will likely close this game out at point guard as his hot streak continues.
Oct 28, 2025
Upgraded to available
Anthony (illness) is available for Tuesday's game against the Knicks, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Unsurprisingly, the Bucks have upgraded Anthony from probable to available Tuesday. The guard should be able to handle a normal workload against New York. With Kevin Porter (ankle) sidelined, Milwaukee could have a hot-hand approach at point guard between Anthony and Ryan Rollins.
Oct 28, 2025
Upgraded to probable Tuesday
Anthony (illness) has been upgraded to probable or Tuesday's game against New York.
ANALYSIS
Anthony missed Sunday's game against Cleveland due to illness but is slated to return Tuesday. He will likely continue playing behind Ryan Rollins as the team's backup point guard, but will still see meaningful minutes.
Oct 27, 2025
Questionable for Tuesday
Anthony (illness) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Porter (ankle) has already been ruled out for Tuesday's game, so if Anthony needs to join him on the sidelines, Ryan Rollins would likely be looking at another start. Check back for another update on Anthony closer to Tuesday's tip.
Oct 26, 2025
Won't play Sunday
Anthony (illness) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was added to the injury report earlier Sunday due to an illness and will ultimately be sidelined. His absence will place more responsibility on Ryan Rollins at point guard and may increase the ball-handling duties for Giannis Antetokounmpo (toe).
Oct 26, 2025
Iffy with illness Sunday
Anthony (illness) is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony took on an expanded role in Friday's win over the Raptors, finishing with 23 points (9-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-7 FT), seven assists, four rebounds and two steals in 27 minutes. His playing time appeared poised to stay elevated with Kevin Porter (ankle) sidelined, but if Anthony is unable to go, Ryan Rollins will be tasked with handling the majority of the point guard duties.
Oct 24, 2025
Extended run vs. Toronto
Anthony finished with 23 points (9-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-7 FT), four rebounds, seven assists and two steals over 27 minutes during Friday's 122-116 victory over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
After logging just 12 minutes during Wednesday's win against the Wizards, Anthony saw his playing time jump to 27 minutes Friday, 11 of which came in the fourth quarter that coincided with Kyle Kuzma leaving the game due to an ankle injury. Anthony made his minutes count, dishing seven dimes while tallying nine of his 23 points in the fourth quarter to lead the bench in scoring and finished second on the Bucks behind Giannis Antetokounmpo (30). Ryan Rollins entered the starting lineup in the absence of Kevin Porter, and Anthony's minutes would be elevated against the Cavaliers on Sunday if Kuzma is not cleared to play.
Oct 23, 2025
Hands out five assists in win
Anthony notched nine points (4-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds, five assists and one block in 12 minutes during Wednesday's 133-120 victory over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Kevin Porter sprained his ankle after nine minutes of action Wednesday, which likely played a part in Anthony's role. Still, Anthony operated behind Ryan Rollins, who saw 29 minutes off the bench. If Porter is indeed facing an extended absence, Anthony would still be in play to step into a significant role from the second unit.
Oct 14, 2025
Nets 21 points on 11 shots
Anthony posted 21 points (7-11 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 2-2), two rebounds, two assists, two 3-pointers, two steals and three turnovers in 19 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's preseason loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is a capable scorer, but he doesn't often bring many other statistics to the stat sheet. He's an okay, late-round target in deep points leagues, but he's not the most attractive pick in category-based settings.
Oct 9, 2025
Tallies nine points off bench
Anthony (chin) posted nine points (3-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one steal in 18 minutes during Thursday's 117-111 preseason win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Anthony exited Monday's exhibition early due to a chin laceration, but the issue didn't force him to miss additional action. He was a strong contributor across the board during Thursday's matchup, recording a team high in both assists and rebounds.
Oct 6, 2025
Won't return Monday
Anthony received stitches for a chin laceration Monday and he will not return, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
This shouldn't be anything that impacts Anthony's status for the regular-season opener, but there's a chance he'll need to skip Thursday's exhibition versus Detroit. If he does need to hit the sidelines, Gary Harris could pick up some extra run.
Oct 6, 2025
Available Monday
Anthony (undisclosed) is available to play in Monday's preseason game against the Heat, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony sat out the contact portion of practice Thursday with an undisclosed issue but is expected to make his Bucks debut in Monday's preseason contest. The veteran guard joined Milwaukee after having his contract bought out by Memphis on July 12. Head coach Doc Rivers noted he plans to get all 20 players some run, so Anthony's workload remains to be seen.
Jul 12, 2025
Agrees to buyout with Memphis
Anthony has agreed to a contract buyout with the Grizzlies on Saturday and intends to sign with the Bucks after clearing waivers, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was traded earlier this offseason in a deal that sent Desmond Bane to the Magic, but he'll move on before ever taking the court for the Grizzlies. The guard appeared in 67 regular-season games during the 2024-25 campaign, including 22 starts, and averaged 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 42.4 percent from the field in 18.4 minutes per game. The 2020 first-round pick could help replace Damian Lillard (Achilles) with the Bucks, though that move won't become official until Anthony clears waivers.
Apr 13, 2025
Limited in loss Sunday
Anthony totaled two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three assists and one steal over 13 minutes during Sunday's 117-105 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Anthony played just 13 minutes, possibly due to the fact the coaching staff was holding him out in preparation for Tuesday's Play-In game against the Hawks. Although it's been an up-and-down season for Anthony, it is likely he will be called upon a little more should the Magic have any hopes of making noise during the playoffs.
Apr 9, 2025
Red hot from deep off bench
Anthony finished with 18 points (6-13 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds and three assists over 22 minutes in Wednesday's 96-76 win over Boston.
ANALYSIS
Anthony shined off the Magic bench in Wednesday's contest, connecting on a team-high mark from three while hauling in a team-high-tying rebound total and finishing second on the team in scoring. Anthony set a new season high in threes made while recording his 10th outing of the year with 18 or more points.
Apr 1, 2025
Solid outing in return
Anthony (toe) contributed nine points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block across 19 minutes during Tuesday's 116-105 victory over San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
Anthony made his return to action following a seven-game absence due to a left big toe strain. The 24-year-old combo guard produced a solid stat line from the second unit. However, he did struggle with efficiency during his first game since March 16 against the Cavaliers, when he aggravated the toe injury and played only six minutes. Anthony's return to the lineup will likely mean fewer minutes for Cory Joseph, who remained in the starting five but played only 18 minutes Tuesday.
Apr 1, 2025
Good to go Tuesday
Anthony (toe) is listed as available for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will return to the court following a seven-game absence due to a left big toe strain. The 24-year-old missed nine of the club's last 10 games in March, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he faces restrictions during his return to game action.
Mar 31, 2025
Game-time call for Tuesday
Anthony (toe) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was held out of Monday's clash with the Clippers due to a left toe strain, but he'll have another chance to return Tuesday. He hasn't taken the court since March 16 as a result of the injury and the team hasn't provided much in terms of how much he's been able to ramp up his basketball activities.
Mar 31, 2025
Won't play Monday
Anthony (toe) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Clippers, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony hasn't played since March 6, when he made a six-minute appearance following a two-game absence. His next chance to suit up will come Tuesday in San Antonio, and while he doesn't have a return timetable, the fact that he was initially listed as questionable for Monday's game is a step in the right direction.
Mar 30, 2025
Iffy for Monday vs. LAC
Anthony (toe) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is in jeopardy of missing his seventh consecutive contest due to a left big toe strain. However, the 24-year-old combo guard was listed as doubtful before being ruled out of Saturday's win over Sacramento, so the questionable tag bodes well for his progression toward a return to game action. If Anthony remains on the shelf Monday, Cory Joseph and Anthony Black will likely continue to receive an uptick in playing time.
Mar 29, 2025
Ruled out against Sacramento
Anthony (toe) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Kings, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will miss a sixth straight game Saturday for the Magic while dealing with a toe injury on his left foot. Orlando will likely turn to Anthony Black, Cory Joseph and Gary Harris to help shoulder the load in the backcourt.
Mar 28, 2025
Doubtful for Saturday
Anthony (toe) is doubtful for Saturday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
It appears Anthony will be held out for an eighth straight game. Assuming he's out, his next chance to play comes Monday against the Clippers. In the meantime, Anthony Black, Cory Joseph and Gary Harris could continue to see an uptick in minutes.
Mar 27, 2025
Won't play Thursday
Anthony (toe) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Mavericks, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Thursday marks the seventh game in Orlando's eight that Anthony will miss due to a left big toe strain. He'll continue to rehab from his injury and look to be available for Saturday's game against the Kings. Anthony Black, Gary Harris and Cory Joseph should continue to see additional minutes due to the absences of Anthony and Jalen Suggs (knee).
Mar 26, 2025
Doubtful for Thursday
Anthony (toe) is doubtful for Thursday's game against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is likely to miss a fifth straight game for Orlando. Assuming he sits out, his next chance to play will be Saturday against the Kings. In the meantime, players such as Anthony Black, Cory Joseph and Gary Harris could continue to see an uptick in minutes.
Mar 25, 2025
Ruled out Tuesday
Anthony (toe) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will miss a fourth straight game for the Magic on Tuesday as he continues to nurse a toe injury. Anthony Black and Cory Joseph will likely get a boost in minutes in the backcourt in Charlotte.
Mar 24, 2025
Doubtful to play Tuesday
Anthony (toe) is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is expected to miss his fourth consecutive contest due to a left big toe strain. If the 24-year-old combo guard remains sidelined, Anthony Black and Cory Joseph will likely shoulder the workload at point guard.
Mar 24, 2025
Remaining sidelined Monday
Anthony (toe) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Lakers, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will miss his third consecutive contest due to the left big toe strain. His next chance to suit up will come in the second half of the club's back-to-back set against the Hornets on Tuesday. Anthony Black and Cory Joseph will likely shoulder the workload at point guard due to Anthony being sidelined.
Mar 23, 2025
Questionable for Monday
Anthony (toe) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is in jeopardy of missing his third consecutive contest due to a left big toe strain, which is an injury that he aggravated during last Sunday's win over the Cavaliers. The combo guard wasn't able to go through practice Sunday, per Mason Williams of SI.com, which bodes poorly for his potential return. If the 24-year-old remains sidelined, Anthony Black and Cory Joseph will likely see a bump in minutes.
Mar 21, 2025
Ruled out Friday
Anthony (toe) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Washington, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will miss his second consecutive contest due to a left big toe sprain. The 24-year-old combo guard was unable to participate in Friday's shootaround before being ruled out, and his next chance to suit up will come Monday against the Wizards. Anthony Black and Cory Joseph are candidates for an uptick in playing time due to Anthony being sidelined.
Mar 21, 2025
Absent from shootaround
Anthony (toe) didn't participate in shootaround and is considered a game-time decision for Friday's game versus the Wizards, Dan Savage of the Magic's official sitereports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is officially listed as questionable Friday after missing Orlando's previous contest due to a left big toe sprain. If Anthony's officially ruled out, Cory Joseph will likely draw his fifth straight start.
Mar 20, 2025
Iffy for Friday
Anthony (toe) is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is in danger of missing his second straight contest Friday due to a left big toe sprain. If the 24-year-old guard is ultimately downgraded to out, Anthony Black and Cory Joseph should continue to receive increased playing time.
Mar 19, 2025
Not playing Wednesday
Anthony (toe) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Rockets, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has missed two of Orlando's last three games due to a left toe strain, and he'll be sidelined for Wednesday's interconference bout. Anthony's absence means Corey Joseph will remain in the Magic's starting lineup while Anthony Black sees extended minutes off the bench. Anthony's next opportunity to take the floor is Friday against the Wizards.
Mar 19, 2025
Sits out shootaround
Anthony (toe) did not participate in Wednesday's morning shootaround, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony wasn't able to practice Tuesday and has missed two or Orlando's past three games. He's still listed as questionable, but he's trending in the wrong direction. If Anthony can't go, guys like Anthony Black and Cory Joseph could see an uptick in minutes.
Mar 18, 2025
Questionable for Wednesday
Anthony (toe) has been listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has missed two of the last three games for the Magic while nursing a toe injury. The 24-year-old guard played only six minutes before being ruled out during Sunday's win against the Cavaliers, finishing with two points and one rebound. Orlando will likely turn to Cory Joseph and Anthony Black if the veteran guard cannot play against Houston.
Mar 18, 2025
Sits out practice
Anthony (toe) did not practice Tuesday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony played just six minutes Sunday at Cleveland before he was ruled out of the second half of the game due to the injury that sidelined him the two prior contests, according to Beede. As far as Wednesday's game versus Houston, it sounds like Anthony is questionable at best. Anthony Black could see an uptick in minutes if Anthony is unable to give it a go.
Mar 16, 2025
Won't return Sunday
Anthony won't return to Sunday's game against the Cavaliers due to a left big toe strain, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony tried to play through the injury during the first half of Sunday's contest following a two-game absence. However, the 24-year-old combo guard logged only six minutes, finishing with two points (0-1 FG, 2-2 FT) and one rebound. Cory Joseph and Anthony Black will likely shoulder the workload at point guard the rest of the way.
Mar 16, 2025
Getting green light
Anthony (toe) is available for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
After missing two games due to a left big toe injury, Anthony will return to action Sunday. With Jalen Suggs (knee) out for the season, Anthony is slated for a sizable role moving forward. Mar 15, 2025
Questionable for Sunday
Anthony (toe) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has missed two games in a row due to a left big toe injury, and it's unclear if the 24-year-old will manage to suit up Sunday. Cory Joseph and Anthony Black will likely cover most of the minutes at point guard if Anthony is sidelined once again.
Mar 14, 2025

ANALYSIS

Questionable Friday
Anthony (toe) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against Minnesota.
ANALYSIS

Mar 13, 2025
Out with toe injury
Anthony won't play Thursday night due to a strained left big toe.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was a late addition to the injury report and had played in three straight games since making a a return from a toe injury. Cory Joseph will start in his place at point guard Thursday, and Anthony Black should also be in store for more playing time in Anthony's absence.
Mar 9, 2025
Close to double-double
Anthony amassed 22 points (8-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, nine assists, three blocks and one steal over 31 minutes during Saturday's 111-109 win over Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was coming off a 20-point performance in the loss to the Bulls on Thursday, and he bested that stat line in this win Saturday while also coming close to a double-double. Anthony posted his best scoring mark since Feb. 3, when he had 26 points off the bench in a loss to the Warriors, and it was the third time he finished just one assist away from a double-double. Due to the absence of Jalen Suggs (knee), Anthony should remain as the starting point guard for the Magic going forward as long as he stays healthy.
Mar 6, 2025
Drops 20 points in return
Anthony produced 20 points (6-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 24 minutes during Thursday's 125-123 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Anthony tallied at least 20 points for the first time in over a month, returning to the lineup after missing the previous game due to a toe injury. With Jalen Suggs (knee) done for the season, it appears as though Anthony is going to remain the starting point guard. His production can be very up and down but the minutes should be relatively consistent moving forward.
Mar 6, 2025
Good to go against Chicago
Anthony (toe) is available and in the starting five for Thursday's game versus the Bulls, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has been upgraded from questionable to available Thursday after missing Orlando's previous contest due to a toe injury. Anthony will reclaim his starting spot from Cory Joseph.
Mar 6, 2025
Goes through shootaround
Anthony (toe) participated in Thursday's morning shootaround, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony, who is still listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Bulls, appears on track to return from a one-game absence. If that happens, Cory Joseph would likely move back to the second unit, and Anthony Black's fantasy appeal could take a hit.
Mar 5, 2025
Listed as questionable
Anthony (toe) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is in danger of missing his second game in a row. In Anthony's absence Tuesday against the Raptors, Cory Joseph started and produced eight points, five assists, one rebound and one steal in 26 minutes. Anthony Black played just 15 minutes off the bench, however.
Mar 4, 2025
Won't play Tuesday vs. Toronto
Anthony (toe) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Raptors, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was added to Tuesday's injury report due to a left toe strain, which is severe enough for him to be sidelined against Toronto. With Anthony sidelined, Cory Joseph will slide into the Magic's starting lineup while Anthony Black continues to serve in a reserve role, per Williams. Anthony's next opportunity to play is Thursday against the Bulls.
Mar 4, 2025
Added to injury report
Anthony is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Raptors with a left toe strain.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was a late addition to the injury report, but the questionable tag suggests that he's day-to-day. Anthony has been seeing minutes in the low-to-mid 20s lately, and if he's unable to, more minutes could be available for Anthony Black and Cory Joseph.
Feb 27, 2025
Good to go Thursday
Anthony (knee) is available in Thursday's game against the Warriors, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite sustaining a hyperextended left knee in Tuesday's loss to the Cavaliers, Anthony is good to go for the Magic on Thursday. The veteran guard should be able to handle his normal role as a starter, considering Jalen Suggs remains on the shelf with a quadriceps injury. Over his last nine games, Anthony has averaged 10.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.4 three-pointers in 23.7 minutes while shooting 44.8 percent from deep.
Feb 26, 2025
Not expected to miss time
Anthony (knee) isn't expected to miss time due to a hyperextended left knee suffered in Wednesday's loss to the Cavaliers, head coach Jamahl Mosley said, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony's hyperextended left knee doesn't appear severe enough to result in missed time for Orlando, which is good news for a team that has dealt with several injuries this season. He could be ready to return to the floor as soon as Friday against the Warriors. The 24-year-old guard played in 21 minutes during the loss to Cleveland, finishing with six points, five rebounds and four assists.
Feb 25, 2025
Won't return Tuesday
Anthony sustained a hyperextended left knee during the third quarter of Tuesday's game against the Cavaliers and will not return.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will finish the game with six points (2-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt), five rebounds and four assists across 21 minutes. With the 24-year-old sidelined, Anthony Black will likely pick up the slack the rest of the way. Anthony's next chance to play will come Thursday against Golden State.
Feb 25, 2025
Exits to locker room Tuesday
Anthony exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent left knee injury during the third quarter of Tuesday's game against Cleveland, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony came up limping and required assistance walking back to the locker room with 7:37 remaining in the third quarter. The 24-year-old point guard will likely undergo further testing before a decision is made on his availability, and if he's unable to return, Anthony Black will likely pick up the slack the rest of the way.
Feb 21, 2025
All-around effort vs. Memphis
Anthony finished Friday's 105-104 loss to the Grizzlies with 17 points (6-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block over 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
With Paolo Banchero in foul trouble, Anthony took on a larger scoring role in the first half of Friday's game, scoring 12 of his 17 points over the first 24 minutes. Anthony shifted to a more complimentary role in the second half with five assists, and his seven dimes were a game high. He's started in the Magic's last seven games due to the absence of Jalen Suggs (quadriceps), and Anthony has averaged 12.3 points on 47.8 percent shooting, 3.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 steals over 24.5 minutes per game.
Feb 21, 2025
Efficient in victory
Anthony ended Thursday's 114-108 win over the Hawks with 17 points (7-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals across 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Despite starting off the 2024-25 campaign struggling with his outside shot, Anthony has converted 38.1 percent of his 4.2 three-point attempts per contest over his last 10 outings. Anthony is averaging 13.4 points, 3.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 23.5 minutes across that span.
Feb 20, 2025
Checks back in
Anthony (illness) returned during the second quarter of Thursday's game against the Hawks, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony left for the locker room with 3:51 remaining in the first period, but he was cleared to check back in at the 6:41 mark of the second quarter. The team will likely keep a close eye on his workload the rest of the way.
Feb 20, 2025
Leaves for locker room Thursday
Anthony went back to the locker room in the first quarter of Thursday's game against the Hawks due to an illness, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony signaled to be checked out of the game with 3:51 remaining in the first quarter. The severity of the illness is unknown, but if the 24-year-old is unable to return, Anthony Black and Gary Harris could see an uptick in playing time the rest of the way.
Feb 12, 2025
Serviceable performance in win
Anthony produced 13 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt), six rebounds and one assist over 22 minutes during Wednesday's 102-86 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony produced another serviceable performance, continuing to start for the injured Jalen Suggs (quad). Despite the role, Anthony has been inconsistent on both ends of the floor. Over the past four games, he is averaging just 9.5 points and 1.3 steals in 20.7 minutes per game and yet has started in all four contests.
Feb 5, 2025
Part of first unit
Anthony will start Wednesday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will supplant Anthony Black in the first unit Wednesday, and his move into the starting lineup comes after back-to-back 20 points games. In eight starts this season, Anthony is averaging 17.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals across 31.5 minutes.
Feb 4, 2025
Scores team-high 26 points
Anthony ended with 26 points (11-21 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals in 28 minutes during Monday's 104-99 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Although Anthony Black started at point guard Tuesday evening, he faded into the woodwork early, ceding most of the load to Anthony. It marked Anthony's second straight game off the bench with 20-plus points, continuing a trend where they ride the hot hand out of the gate. The negative correlation between the two guards dilutes the fantasy value of both players, with neither player gaining an upper hand in the scoring column.
Feb 1, 2025
Scores 23 points off bench Saturday
Anthony ended Saturday's 113-99 loss to the Jazz with 23 points (7-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-7 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 27 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Anthony and Franz Wagner (37 points) were the only Magic players to score in double digits Saturday as Orlando shot 33.0 percent from the field and went 9-for-41 from three-point range. Anthony has scored in double digits off the bench in two straight games and appears to be getting more acclimated to his reserve role. He'll look to stay on track against the Warriors on Monday.
Jan 31, 2025
Scores 16 points off bench
Anthony supplied 16 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, two assists, one block and one steal across 24 minutes during Thursday's 119-90 loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero carried the way for the Magic in this loss, but Anthony managed to deliver a solid stat line despite coming off the bench. The lack of consistency on a game-to-game basis remains an issue for the fifth-year veteran, and the return to the bench suggests he won't carry a lot of fantasy upside in most formats going forward.
Jan 25, 2025
Limited role in return
Anthony provided seven points (3-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt) and three rebounds over 19 minutes during Saturday's 121-113 victory over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Anthony returned from a two-game absence as a result of an illness, coming off the bench following the return of Jalen Suggs. While this was by no means an electrifying performance, it should be noted that Suggs was forced from the game during the fourth quarter as a result of a knee injury. Should Suggs be forced to the sideline once again, Anthony would seemingly slip straight back into the starting lineup.
Jan 25, 2025
Good to go Saturday vs. Detroit
Anthony (illness) is available for Saturday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will return Saturday from a two-game absence due to an illness. He was in the Magic's starting lineup for the eight games prior to his absence, and over that span, he averaged 17.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals over 31.5 minutes per contest.
Jan 25, 2025
Goes through shootaround
Anthony (illness) didn't participate in shootaround ahead of Saturday's game versus the Pistons, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is officially listed as questionable Saturday after missing Orlando's previous two contests due to an illness. However, Anthony's participation in shootaround is a good sign of his availability against Detroit.
Jan 24, 2025
Game-time call for Saturday
Anthony (illness) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is in jeopardy of missing his third consecutive contest due to an illness. With Jalen Suggs (back) also listed as questionable, Anthony Black and Trevelin Queen are candidates for a bump in playing time if either sits.
Jan 23, 2025
Won't go Thursday
Anthony (illness) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against Portland.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will miss his second consecutive contest due to an illness, and his next chance to suit up will come Saturday against Detroit. The 24-year-old has been a mainstay in the starting five with Jalen Suggs (back) on the shelf, meaning Anthony Black should continue to receive an increased role.
Jan 23, 2025
Absent from shootaround
Anthony (illness) didn't participate in shootaround ahead of Thursday's game versus the Trail Blazers, Jake Chapman of the Magic Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is officially listed as questionable for Thursday's contest due to an illness. However, the 24-year-old guard's absence from shootaround is a bad sign of his availability against Portland.
Jan 22, 2025
Iffy for Thursday
Anthony (illness) is questionable for Thursday's game against Portland.
ANALYSIS
After missing Tuesday's game against the Raptors with an illness, Anthony's game status remains up in the air against the Blazers. The Magic will likely wait until closer to Thursday's tipoff before updating the guard's designation. If Anthony remains out, Anthony Black would be primed to make another spot start at point guard for Orlando.
Jan 21, 2025
Out with illness
Anthony (illness) is out for Tuesday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
With Jalen Suggs (back) joining Anthony on the sidelines for the Magic on Tuesday, fantasy managers can expect Anthony Black to handle a much larger role and likely offer enhanced fantasy value. Anthony's next chance to return is Thursday against Portland.
Jan 21, 2025
Iffy due to illness
Anthony is now questionable for Tuesday's game against the Raptors due to illness.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was a late addition to the injury report, along with Jonathan Isaac (illness). That's typically not a great sign in terms of availability, and the Magic are already thin in their backcourt without Jalen Suggs (back). If Anthony can't go, the Magic could need Anthony Black to step into a much larger role.
Jan 17, 2025
Leader in scoring in defeat
Anthony contributed 23 points (9-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds and one steal in 31 minutes during Friday's 121-94 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Anthony led the way for Orlando on the offensive end of the court, leading all Magic players in scoring, shots made and threes while also finishing second on the team in rebounds in Friday's losing effort. Anthony has surpassed the 20-point mark in four outings this season, doing so in two of his last three outings.
Jan 12, 2025
Stays hot in win
Anthony scored 25 points (11-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), dished four assists, grabbed three boards and recorded two steals in Sunday's 102-99 win over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
It seemed as though he had taken a leap at times last season, but Anthony has remained a backup this year. However, with Jalen Suggs (back) out again Sunday, Anthony stepped into the starting lineup and delivered once again. He's now averaging 18.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists in the last five games with the first unit, his only starts of the year. Suggs remains day-to-day, and until he can return, Anthony should continue to start. His next outing comes Wednesday agains the Bucks.
Jan 11, 2025
Hits for 18 in Friday's loss
Anthony logged 18 points (5-15 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 5-8 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 35 minutes during Friday's 109-106 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Making his fourth straight start, Anthony produced another solid stat line. He's supplied at least 12 points in all four starts, averaging 16.5 points, 5.3 boards, 2.8 assists, 2.0 threes, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals, and his role in the Orlando backcourt could grow even further if the knee injury Kentavious Caldwell-Pope picked up Friday ends up putting him on the shelf next to Jalen Suggs (back).
Jan 9, 2025
Sparks offense in starting lineup
Anthony ended with 12 points (5-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five assists, three rebounds, two blocks and two steals over 27 minutes in Thursday's 104-89 loss to Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Anthony remained in the starting lineup Thursday as Jalen Suggs recovers from a back injury, providing a lift to Orlando offensively while leading all Magic players in assists and concluding as one of five players with a double-digit point total. Anthony has reached double figures in scoring in 10 outings this season, handing out five or more dimes in three of those contests.
Jan 7, 2025
Leads Orlando in scoring
Anthony produced 24 points (9-18 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and one steal in 37 minutes during Monday's 103-94 victory over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony had a prominent offensive role in a shorthanded Magic roster and made the most of the opportunity, leading the team in scoring and reaching the 20-point mark for the second time in 2024-25. Don't rule Anthony out from remaining as a viable offensive weapon for the Magic as long as he continues to start in a depleted backcourt, which should translate to a sizable uptick in his usage rate, at least from a short-term perspective.
Jan 6, 2025
Struggles from field
Anthony accumulated 12 points (5-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds and three blocks over 28 minutes during Sunday's 105-92 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Anthony had a solid showing as a defensive presence, particularly with his three blocks, but the shooting woes can't be overlooked. Anthony made his first start of the season Sunday and could remain in that role due to the absence of other guards such as Jalen Suggs (back), Anthony Black (back) and Gary Harris (hamstring), which should translate into an uptick in his fantasy upside on a short-term scenario.
Jan 5, 2025
Starting vs. Utah
Anthony is in the Magic's starting lineup against the Jazz on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will be making his first start of the 2024-25 regular-season Sunday due to Jalen Suggs (back) being injured while Anthony Black comes off the bench. Anthony has averaged 8.8 points, 4.0 assists and 2.8 rebounds over 16.3 minutes per game over his last 10 outings.
Dec 30, 2024
Hits game-winning shot
Anthony posted 10 points (3-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 17 minutes during Sunday's 102-101 win over Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Anthony produced the game-winning shot Sunday, stepping up in the absence of Jalen Suggs who exited the game early with a wrist sprain. Anthony has had a minor role for most of the season, but he would offer plenty of streaming appeal if Suggs ends up missing time. Orlando's next game isn't until Jan. 1 against Detroit, however.
Dec 27, 2024
Muted role in loss Thursday
Anthony provided zero points (0-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists over 12 minutes during Thursday's 89-88 loss to Miami.
ANALYSIS
Anthony had a limited impact Thursday after reaching double-digit points in two consecutive outings. The 24-year-old went scoreless while playing fewer than 15 minutes for the third time in his last five appearances, during which he has averaged 10.4 points, 4.6 assists and 3.6 rebounds across 15.6 minutes per contest.
Dec 22, 2024
Explodes for 35 points Saturday
Anthony closed with 35 points (13-25 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 7-7 FT), eight rebounds, nine assists, one block and one steal over 28 minutes during Saturday's 121-114 win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Anthony entered this game Saturday averaging career-high marks in several categories, including points (5.1) and assists (2.0) per game. Still, he came out of nowhere to post a loaded stat line while finishing just one assist and two rebounds away from a triple-double. There's a strong chance this 35-point effort will end up being just a one-time thing for Anthony, but the five-year veteran could be in line to see more minutes in the coming games, given how depleted the Magic are right now, particularly when it comes to the backcourt depth with Jalen Suggs (ankle) sidelined.
Dec 9, 2024
Full stat line off bench
Anthony finished with 14 points (6-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 29 minutes during Sunday's 115-110 victory over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Although it was rookie first-rounder Tristan da Silva who entered Orlando's starting lineup for the injured Franz Wagner (oblique), it was Anthony who absorbed the lion's share of Wagner's vacated playing time and supplied a full stat line Sunday. Anthony's 29 minutes were a season-high figure, and it would appear initially the 24-year-old guard could be one of the main beneficiaries of Wagner's indefinite absence after Anthony held an inconsistent role in the second unit thus far this season. Given the uncertainty surrounding head coach Jamahl Mosley's rotation on a nightly basis going forward, fantasy managers in most leagues should still take a wait-and-see approach before adding Anthony off waiver wires, but he's worth a speculative pickup in deep leagues for the time being.
Nov 26, 2024
Thrives off bench Monday
Anthony registered 16 points (6-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds and four assists across 27 minutes during Monday's 95-84 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony tied his best scoring output of the season in Monday's low-scoring win, but fantasy managers shouldn't get overly enthusiastic about this performance. Anthony has scored in double digits twice this season and is averaging a modest 9.3 minutes per game over his last 10 appearances. Even as depleted as the Magic are right now, the fact that Anthony doesn't see more minutes off the bench is a testament to how deep he sits in the team's depth chart.
Nov 11, 2024
Makes impact off bench
Anthony notched 16 points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 8-8 FT) and two rebounds across 15 minutes during Sunday's 121-94 victory over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Orlando handled business early on in this contest, allowing Anthony to get some extra run. He made the most of his newfound minutes with a season-high mark of 16 points. Given his minimal role so far this season, fantasy managers will not want to overreact this outlier performance.
Nov 2, 2024
Minimal action in loss
Anthony closed with two points (1-4 FG, 0-1 FT), one rebound and two assists in eight minutes during Friday's 120-109 loss to Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
After being a heavily featured part of Orlando's bench backcourt in the first two games of the season, Anthony has averaged just 6.8 minutes per contest over his last four appearances. Unless Anthony begins to receive more playing time, he is unlikely to garner significant fantasy interest.
Oct 31, 2024
Catches DNP-CD on Wednesday
Anthony was a DNP-Coach's Decision for Wednesday's loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Per Sports Illustrated's Mason Williams, Anthony stated, "[I] wasn't playing that well, me and [Magic coach Jamahl Mosley] had a conversation. He keeps it a buck with me, I'm gonna keep it a buck with him. And I mean, this is what happens. It's a business, man." The guard has scored just eight points on 18.8 percent shooting to begin the season. As he's struggled, sophomores Anthony Black and Jett Howard have found more consistent run this season.
Oct 27, 2024
Limited run in loss
Anthony recorded four points (2-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two assists and one steal over eight minutes during Saturday's 124-111 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was efficient shooting the rock but saw only eight minutes of action Saturday. The 24-year-old's minutes have gradually decreased over the last three years, and the guard has taken a backseat to Jalen Suggs and Anthony Black three games into the season. Anthony is only expected to serve as a streaming option in fantasy formats with Orlando's depth this season.
Oct 8, 2024
Productive off bench Monday
Anthony delivered 11 points (3-8 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, two assists and a steal across 14 minutes off the bench in Monday's 106-104 preseason loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Anthony didn't need a lot of minutes to make an impact off the bench in this preseason opener, and while his three-point shooting wasn't good, he still ended as one of three Orlando players with double-digit points. Anthony is expected to open the regular season as Jalen Suggs' primary backup at the point guard position, but that role shouldn't translate to a lot of fantasy upside outside of the very deep formats and dynasty leagues.
May 3, 2024
Closes game Friday
Anthony accumulated nine points (4-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 19 minutes during Friday's 103-96 win over the Cavaliers in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Anthony closed the game Friday, providing the Magic with some much-needed floor spacing. With Gary Harris (hamstring), Anthony slid into a larger role, something that could stick for Game 7 should Harris remain sidelined.
Apr 28, 2024
Another poor outing
Anthony produced three points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, three assists and one steal over 15 minutes during Saturday's 112-89 win over the Cavaliers in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Aside from a 10-point outing in Game 3, Anthony has scored only seven points (1-15 FG) during the postseason thus far. He averaged 11.5 points on 43.5 percent shooting during the regular season.
Apr 14, 2024
Leader off bench in balanced outing
Anthony amassed 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals over 17 minutes during Sunday's 113-88 victory over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony led all bench players in Sunday's regular-season finale in scoring while hauling in a handful of rebounds and handing out a quartet of assists in a balanced outing on the second unit. Anthony, who also swiped a pair of steals, recorded at least 10 points, four rebounds and four assists in two of his final three games of the regular season.
Apr 11, 2024
Bounces back against Milwaukee
Anthony closed with 23 points (9-14 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one block across 33 minutes during Wednesday's 117-99 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
After scoring just 24 total points in his last five outings, Anthony recorded a team-high 24 points in Wednesday's loss. The 23-year-old guard has now posted 10 games this season with at least 20 points. Over his previous 10 appearances, Anthony is shooting 43.2 percent on 4.4 three-point attempts per game.
Apr 5, 2024
Non-exisitent again Friday
Anthony supplied two points (1-8 FG, 0-4 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one steal in 19 minutes during Friday's 124-115 loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony vanished in the loss, scoring fewer than 10 points for the fourth time in the past five games. He is one of the most inconsistent players around, with his overall value typically reliant on whether his shot is falling. Given the lack of upside, there is no reason to hold him outside of very deep formats.
Mar 30, 2024
Solid output off bench Saturday
Anthony contributed 15 points (5-11 FG, 5-8 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 17 minutes during Saturday's 118-88 win over Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has been one of the most productive bench scorers in the Eastern Conference, and he made his presence felt in this one with a strong showing, particularly from three-point range. Anthony has now drained multiple threes in six games in a row, scoring in dougle digits five times during that stretch. His scoring exploits will be valuable in fantasy, but the fact that he's experiencing a drop in most of his stats for the third consecutive season diminishes his long-term value in dynasty formats.
Mar 27, 2024
Leading scorer vs. Warriors
Anthony ended with 26 points (10-17 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 32 minutes during Wednesday's 101-93 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Anthony provided the scoring firepower off the bench Wednesday with Paolo Banchero, Jalen Suggs and the rest of the Magic starters struggling with their shot. Anthony has now scored in double digits in each of his last four games, and he is averaging 12.0 points on 46.2 percent shooting, 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists over 23.2 minutes per game in March.
Mar 19, 2024
Leads Magic in scoring Tuesday
Anthony produced 21 points (9-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 21 minutes during Tuesday's 112-92 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Tuesday marked the eighth time Anthony has scored 20-plus points, the last time being Jan. 5 against the Nuggets. It was also the fifth time he's hit three threes in a game, which ties a season high. Anthony is averaging 10.2 points per game in March but is shooting just 25.0 percent from three on 3.6 3PA/G over that stretch.
Mar 16, 2024
Leads bench with 12 points Friday
Anthony contributed 12 points (4-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and three rebounds across 22 minutes during Friday's 113-103 victory over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Anthony entered Friday's game shooting 36.0 percent from the field and 14.3 percent from three on 3.5 3PA/G in March, but he was able to provide solid production in the win. Anthony has come off the bench in every game this season after being a starter in 2021-22, and the 2020 first-round pick is averaging a career-low 11.6 points per game this season.
Mar 6, 2024
Records 14 points off bench
Anthony amassed 14 points (5-11 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and two steals over 23 minutes during Tuesday's 101-89 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony bounced back from two subpar outings off the bench, including a two-point effort (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt) against the Pistons on Sunday, to deliver his 40th game with double-digit points, all of them coming off the bench. Anthony will have a fair share of low-scoring efforts due to his bench role, but more often than not, he'll be a reliable scoring alternative for the Magic. That said, he's averaging only 9.2 points per game since the beginning of February.
Feb 26, 2024
Active off bench in Sunday loss
Anthony contributed 15 points (6-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-3 FT), three rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 30 minutes during Sunday's 109-92 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony continues to play off the bench even in games where Markelle Fultz isn't starting, as was the case Sunday, but that's a testament to how well he plays with the second unit. He's scored in double digits in six of his last seven appearances off the bench, a span in which he's averaging 11.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest.
Feb 11, 2024
Posts double-double off bench
Anthony accumulated 14 points (5-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes during Saturday's 114-108 overtime win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Anthony made his presence felt off the bench Saturday, tying his season-high mark in rebounds and scoring in double digits for the 34th time. A steady offensive weapon off the bench for the Magic, Anthony remains valuable in fantasy despite his bench role, but it's worth noting he has now gone 13 straight contests without reaching the 15-point mark.
Feb 1, 2024
Scores 11 points off bench
Anthony notched 11 points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and two assists over 16 minutes during Wednesday's 108-98 victory over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has been extremely inconsistent in terms of his scoring figures, and his bench role doesn't do him any favors when it comes to his fantasy upside, which is already limited given his contributions. Anthony is averaging just 8.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists across 19.9 minutes per game over his last 10 outings.
Jan 22, 2024
Not listed on injury report
Anthony (ankle) isn't listed on the Magic's injury report ahead of Monday's game versus Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Anthony tweaked his ankle during Sunday's win over Miami, but as expected, he'll be fine moving forward. The backup guard has been inconsistent in January, scoring in double figures just five times over his last 10 appearances. During that stretch, he's averaged 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals-plus-blocks in 23.2 minutes per game.
Jan 21, 2024
Tweaks ankle, expected to be fine
Coach Jamahl Mosley said after Sunday's game against the Heat that Anthony tweaked his ankle but is expected to be fine, Wendell Epps of Bally Sports Florida reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony saw a slight decrease in playing time during Sunday's 105=87 win, tallying five points (2-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in 16 minutes. While Mosley downplayed the severity of the 23-year-old's injury, it's unclear whether he'll carry an injury designation ahead of Monday's game against Cleveland.
Jan 16, 2024
Productive off bench Monday
Anthony posted 15 points (6-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, five assists and two steals in 26 minutes during Monday's 98-94 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard put together one of his better all-around lines of the season, but consistency remains an issue for Anthony. Over his last 14 games he's failed to score in double digits five times, averaging 11.8 points, 4.6 boards, 2.9 assists, 1.0 threes and 1.0 steals in 24.4 minutes a contest, shooting just 42.1 percent from the floor and 26.4 percent from beyond the arc.
Jan 11, 2024
Left off injury report
Anthony (thigh) is available for Friday's game versus the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Despite tweaking his thigh in Tuesday's loss to Minnesota, Anthony is set to play against Miami. With Gary Harris (calf) still out, Anthony should continue to receive extended minutes.
Jan 9, 2024
Tweaks thigh injury
Anthony tweaked his right thigh during Tuesday's 113-92 loss to Minnesota, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony wasn't on the injury report coming into Tuesday's game, but his right thigh was an issue at the beginning of the month. According to coach Jamahl Mosley, Anthony's thigh flared up on him during the game and that's why he was limited to seven minutes. The guard should be considered questionable for Friday's game against Miami.
Jan 4, 2024
Not on injury report
Anthony (quadriceps) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony missed Wednesday's game against the Kings due to a bruised right quad, but he'll be able to return to action Friday. He could see increased run against Denver with Gary Harris (calf) sidelined once again.
Jan 3, 2024
Downgraded to out
Anthony (quad) won't play Wednesday at Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was downgraded to questionable earlier Wednesday with a bruised right quad, and he'll end up missing the contest. His next chance to play will come Friday against the Nuggets. In the meantime expect Anthony Black and Franz Wagner to see more on-ball duties while Gary Harris could see more minutes off the bench.
Jan 3, 2024
Now questionable
Anthony (right quad contusion) is questionable to play in Wednesday's game against Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was a late addition to the Magic injury report Wednesday, and he appears to have picked up a bruised quad during Tuesday's loss to Golden State. If he ends up being unable to play, Gary Harris could see more minutes, while Anthony Black and Franz Wagner could see more ball-handling duties.
Jan 3, 2024
Modest production in loss
Anthony closed with eight points (3-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block in 26 minutes during Tuesday's 121-115 loss to Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Over his last four appearances, Anthony averaged just 8.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 22.5 minutes. In 29 appearances before his recent cold spell, Anthony averaged 14.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists. For now, it appears like Anthony is simply struggling. He's still playing over 20 minutes per game and remains a key piece of Orlando's rotation, but the potential return of Markelle Fultz (knee) could drop Anthony's fantasy value even further.
Dec 23, 2023
Top scorer off bench in victory
Anthony recorded 12 points (4-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one steal over 24 minutes during Saturday's 117-110 win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony led all players in Saturday's contest in scoring and rebounds while connecting on a pair of threes and ending as one of four Magic players with a double-digit point total. Anthony has put together a nice season for Orlando, tallying at least 10 points, five rebounds and three assists in two straight outings and in seven contests this year.
Dec 22, 2023
Active on boards Thursday
Anthony accumulated 18 points (7-17 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 11 rebounds, six assists and two steals in 33 minutes during Thursday's 118-114 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony came into Thursday with just 10 rebounds over his previous five games combined, but he surpassed that total in one night with his season-high 11 boards against the Bucks. The point guard added 18 points to finish with his second double-double of the campaign. Anthony came off the bench despite Markelle Fultz (knee) and Jalen Suggs (wrist) being out of action, while Anthony Black got the starting nod. However, Anthony logged a starter-like 33 minutes to Black's 20, and the former continues to be the better fantasy option despite working strictly as a reserve this season.
Dec 21, 2023
Leading scorer in Wednesday's loss
Anthony had a team-high 20 points (8-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 25 minutes during Wednesday's 115-106 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year guard has remained on the bench even with Markelle Fultz (knee) injured, and while Anthony has scored at least 20 points five times in the last 12 games, his court time has remained a little erratic. Over that stretch, he's averaging 16.8 points, 3.8 boards, 3.7 assists, 1.3 threes, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks in 25.2 minutes a contest.
Dec 18, 2023
Minutes on downturn
Anthony finished with six points (2-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four assists and one rebound across 19 minutes in Sunday's 114-97 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
After a 13-game stretch from Nov. 14 through Dec. 8 in which he averaged 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.5 three-pointers, 0.7 steals and 0.7 blocks in 27.8 minutes per contest, Anthony has seen both his playing time and production trend downward. He's reached double figures in the scoring column once in his last three outings, despite shooting a solid 45.5 percent from the floor overall. Rather than poor efficiency, a decline in minutes seems to be the biggest culprit for Anthony's drop in scoring -- he's topped out at 20 minutes during that three-game stretch. With Markelle Fultz (knee) seemingly closing in on a return to action, Anthony could struggle to see his role expand from its current level in the Magic's future contests.
Dec 9, 2023
Another double-digit game off bench
Anthony tallied 16 points (6-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six assists and three rebounds over 24 minutes in Friday's 123-91 win over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Anthony led all bench players in Friday's game in scoring and assists while posting his third straight game with 16 or more points off the Magic bench. Anthony has tallied at least 15 points in 14 contests this season, adding five or more assists in seven of those outings.
Dec 3, 2023
Keeps thriving in bench role
Anthony recorded 20 points (8-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block across 31 minutes during Saturday's 129-101 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has struggled to secure a starting role this season, but there's no reason to move him from his bench role, as he has settled himself as one of the best second-unit scoring weapons in The Association. Anthony has reached the 20-point mark on a semi-regular basis, hitting that threshold five times already, and he's averaging a robust 17.2 points per game off the bench over his last 10 contests.
Nov 30, 2023
Drops 25 points off bench
Anthony ended Wednesday's 139-120 win over the Wizards with 25 points (9-16 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, five assists and two blocks across 26 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has consistently scored in double figures early in the season, but he's reached another level in recent matchups, scoring 20-plus points in three of his last four appearances. He's also been productive in secondary categories during that time and has averaged 22.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 29.0 minutes per game. He's shot 50 percent from the floor during his recent hot stretch, and it wouldn't be surprising to see his scoring results decrease once his shooting percentage regresses to the mean.
Nov 27, 2023
Erupts for 30 points
Anthony produced 30 points (9-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 11-12 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists, one block and two steals in 32 minutes during Sunday's 130-117 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony set a new season high for points scored, and this was the fifth time in his career he reached at least 30 points. Anthony Black has been starting for Orlando in Markelle Fultz's (knee) place, but Anthony has been far more productive and gets the bulk of the point guard minutes. Over his last six games, Anthony is averaging 17.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.3 three-pointers.
Nov 23, 2023
Supplies 20 off bench in win
Anthony produced 20 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT) and five rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 124-119 win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
The 20 points tied his season high, set back in Orlando's opener, while Anthony grabbed at least five boards for the sixth straight game. The fourth-year guard is averaging 14.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.5 threes over that stretch as he continues to take advantage of the absence of Markelle Fultz (knee) from the lineup.
Nov 18, 2023
Nears triple-double despite woes
Anthony posted 11 points (3-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 37 minutes during Friday's 103-97 victory over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
On the surface, Anthony's stat line was decent since he ended just two boards and three assists away from recording a triple-double as the Magic topped the Bulls. However, Anthony had another rough shooting performance, something that has been a trend for him of late. He's hitting just 27.9 percent of his shots from the field across his last five appearances.
Nov 16, 2023
Serviceable effort Wednesday
Anthony produced 16 points (6-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 22 minutes during Wednesday's 96-94 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Anthony tallied 16 points in the victory Wednesday, an improved performance compared to last week. Despite some inconsistency, Anthony has scored in double digits in all but two games thus far, providing the Magic with a reliable scoring threat off the bench. His overall upside is limited, but even so, he certainly isn't out of place on a 12-team fantasy roster.
Nov 14, 2023
Struggles from floor in loss
Anthony chipped in 10 points (2-10 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and two assists across 28 minutes during Tuesday's 124-104 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony shot the ball poorly once again Tuesday, the third straight game he has shot no better than 20 percent. Despite an ongoing knee concern for Markelle Fultz, Anthony has been unable to make the most of his opportunity. With that said, he should turn it around at some point and make for a worthwhile streaming target when his shot starts to fall.
Nov 7, 2023
Pours in 19
Anthony provided 19 points (7-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal in 30 minutes during Monday's 117-102 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony received a starter's workload despite coming off the bench as usual Monday. Although his minutes have fluctuated through Orlando's first seven games, Anthony has hit double-digit scoring in every contest.
Nov 3, 2023
Shines off bench in win
Anthony notched 18 points (5-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 31 minutes during Thursday's 115-113 victory over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Markelle Fultz was a late scratch due to left knee swelling, so Gary Harris joined the first unit. However, Harris suffered a groin injury in the first half and didn't return, forcing Joe Ingles to start the second half. While Ingles started, Anthony and Anthony Black were the ones who stepped up their production for the shorthanded Magic. If Fultz and Harris remain sidelined, Anthony may get a look with the first unit moving forward. Even before the injuries, Anthony was impressing off the bench. Across five appearances, he's averaging 15.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 24.4 minutes per game.
Oct 28, 2023
Impressive night with second unit
Anthony closed with 18 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-6 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block over 28 minutes during Friday's 102-97 victory over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony now has two strong games under his belt, but the Magic seem intent on keeping the keys in Markelle Fultz's hands. Although accuracy has been a problem during his career, his numbers in the latter part of last season were trending up, and he's started off the year with a 51.9 percent conversion rate. Fultz and Jalen Suggs will continue to hinder Anthony's fantasy relevancy, but he's only an injury away from a huge usage boost.
Oct 26, 2023
Shines off bench Wednesday
Anthony logged 20 points (8-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes during Wednesday's 116-86 victory over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony and the Magic agreed to a three-year, $39 million extension just before the start of the regular season, and he celebrated that by leading Orlando in scoring in the season opener despite coming off the bench. Anthony, who ended just two boards shy of a double-double, should be one of the Magic's main bench options going forward.
Oct 23, 2023
Agrees to three-year extension
Anthony and the Magic agreed to a three-year, $39 million extension Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
ANALYSIS
Monday was the deadline to get a deal done, and there had been several reports that the Magic were heading this direction. Anthony is expected to run the second unit for Orlando this season, a role that will likely see him supply fantasy managers with a healthy dose of points, three-pointers and assists. During the 2022-23 season, Anthony compiled averages of 13.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.3 three-pointers.
Oct 11, 2023
Scores 13 points off bench
Anthony produced 13 points (5-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four assists and three rebounds in 15 minutes during Tuesday's 122-105 preseason win over New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Anthony led Orlando's bench in scoring during the preseason opener, but he also took the most shot attempts. The additions of Anthony Black, Joe Ingles and Jett Howard could eat away at Cole's playing time in 2023-24, but for now, it appears he's slated to be the primary backup to Markelle Fultz again.
Apr 9, 2023
Back to bench Sunday
Anthony is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Heat, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony recorded 14 points in Friday's loss to the Nets, but he will move back to the bench here with Markelle Fultz and Jalen Suggs playing in the backcourt. Anthony is ending the season on a strong note and has scored in double figures in each of his last 13 outings, averaging 16.1 points per game in that span.
Apr 8, 2023
Scores 14 points with 16 shots
Anthony finished with 14 points (6-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt), nine rebounds and six assists in 30 minutes during Friday's 101-84 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony started for the first time since late October but delivered a solid stat line, ending just one rebound shy of a double-double and putting up solid passing numbers as well. The shooting woes can be concerning, but Anthony tends to produce even when he's having off nights in terms of efficiency. He's now scored in double digits in 13 games in a row, averaging 16.1 points per game in that stretch.
Apr 7, 2023
Starting Friday
Anthony is starting Friday against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
The Magic are shorthanded Friday, so Anthony will draw his first start since late October. He didn't play Tuesday against Cleveland but has averaged 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 28.6 minutes per game over his last 12 appearances.
Mar 31, 2023
Scores 16 off bench
Anthony registered 16 points (7-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt), seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks across 28 minutes during Friday's 116-109 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Anthony continues to be a reliable sixth man for the Magic, scoring in double digits in 10 straight games. In that stretch, Anthony has averaged 16.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.7 three-pointers while shooting 49 percent from the field. Anthony and the Magic will take on the Pistons on April 2 for their next outing.
Mar 27, 2023
Scores team-high 21 points
Anthony logged 21 points (8-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes during Sunday's 119-106 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was efficient from the field en route to a team-high 21 points, marking his third 20-plus-point came in March (13 appearances). During that stretch, the third-year guard has averaged 16.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 0.8 steals in 28.7 minutes.
Mar 23, 2023
Strong from three to lift bench
Anthony finished Thursday's 111-106 victory over the Knicks with 18 points (6-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 26 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Anthony led all bench players in Thursday's game in scoring while finishing with a team-high mark from three and the second-highest point total among Magic players. Anthony has notched at least 15 points and five rebounds in 16 games this season, including in five straight contests.
Mar 18, 2023
Pops for 18 points in win
Anthony chipped in 18 points (7-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Saturday's 113-108 victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony scored double-digits for the fourth straight game, continuing what has been a solid week of production. With Jalen Suggs (concussion) sidelined, Anthony is going to soak up the bulk of the backup minutes behind Markell Fultz and Gary Harris. While his efficiency can sometimes be an issue, Anthony remains a solid addition to any 12-team roster thanks to volume alone.
Mar 10, 2023
Falls flat in loss
Anthony produced six points (2-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), one rebound and three steals in 22 minutes during Thursday's 131-124 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Gary Harris returned from a two-game absence, forcing Anthony to see his fewest minutes since Feb. 25. He was still heavily involved in the rotation, but Anthony's production was disappointing after he dropped 23 points in Orlando's previous game. With Orlando's backcourt at full strength again, it may be hard for Anthony to garner enough usage to remain relevant in standard leagues.
Mar 7, 2023
Top scorer off bench in loss
Anthony recorded 23 points (9-17 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, three assists and two steals across 33 minutes during Tuesday's 134-123 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Anthony led the Magic off the bench with a team-high scoring mark, also posting a team-high-tying steal total in Tuesday's loss. Anthony has scored 20 or more points in seven games this year, including in two of his last four outings.
Mar 2, 2023
Team-high 28 points off bench
Anthony logged 28 points (10-16 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-7 FT), seven rebounds and four assists across 33 minutes during Wednesday's 139-117 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony got hot in the second quarter with 11 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting from the field, adding three assists. He remained highly efficient after the break, knocking down another four of seven shot attempts for 12 points to finish with a team-high 28 points on the night. It was an impressive performance off the bench for Anthony, who had failed to score in double figures in each of his last two games coming in.
Feb 22, 2023
Healthy coming out of break
Head coach Jamahl Mosley indicated Wednesday that "everybody's healthy" coming out of the All-Star break and indicated Anthony (wrist) is "okay" ahead of Thursday's game versus the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
The Magic appear to have an injury-free injury report heading into the second half, and Anthony is set to return from a two-game absence due to some soreness in his shooting wrist prior to the break. He should slot in for a regular bench role again, averaging 12.4 points, 5.0 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks over his final five appearances of the first half.
Feb 14, 2023
Downgraded to out
Anthony (wrist) won't play in Tuesday's game versus the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will miss his second straight game Tuesday due to right wrist soreness. Gary Harris and Caleb Houstan should continue to see increased workloads. Anthony's next chance to suit up comes after the All-Star break on Feb. 23 versus the Pistons.
Feb 14, 2023
Gets questionable tag for Tuesday
The Magic list Anthony (wrist) as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Raptors, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Since Tuesday marks the second leg of a back-to-back set, the Magic won't hold a morning shootaround prior to their matchup with the Raptors. As a result, Anthony's status may not be clarified one way or the other until the team begins warming up prior to the 7:30 p.m. ET opening tip. After Anthony was a late scratch for Monday's 100-91 win over the Bulls due to the sore right wrist, starting shooting guard Gary Harris saw a mild boost in playing time and rookie Caleb Houstan took Anthony's spot in the rotation and played 13 minutes off the bench.
Feb 13, 2023
Late scratch Monday
Anthony has been ruled out for Monday's contest against the Bulls due to right wrist pain.
ANALYSIS
Anthony wasn't listed on the initial injury report for Monday, but he was a late scratch an hour before tipoff. In his absence, Jalen Suggs figures to operate as the primary backup behind Markelle Fultz and Gary Harris. Anthony's availability for the second half of Orlando's back-to-back set Tuesday against Toronto will be in jeopardy as well.
Feb 10, 2023
Leads contest in blocks, assists
Anthony logged 17 points (8-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists and three blocks in 24 minutes during Thursday's 115-104 victory over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony played a significant role off the bench Thursday, going 5-of-8 from the field with 10 points in the first half to go along with five dimes and two rebounds. After going scoreless in the third quarter, the point guard came through with another seven points on 3-of-6 shooting in the final period to help Orlando pull off the upset at home. Anthony finished with 17 points, which tied Bol Bol for second on the team, while also leading the contest in assists (seven) and blocks (three). He's now scored 15 or more points in four of his last eight games, shooting 52 percent from the field over that stretch.
Feb 4, 2023
Thrives off bench Friday
Anthony supplied 20 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 6-8 FT), eight rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal in 27 minutes during Friday's 127-120 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has scored in double digits in six of his last nine outings off the bench and has reached the 20-point threshold three times in that span, so he's emerging as a reliable contributor off the bench for an Orlando team that needs all the offense they can get on a game-to-game basis. The former North Carolina standout is averaging 12.2 points per game this season while operating mostly on a bench role.
Jan 27, 2023
Back on track in loss
Anthony ended Friday's 110-105 loss to Miami with 19 points (5-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds and one assist across 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Anthony found his rhythm Friday, scoring a team-high 19 points, including four triples. He had been struggling to score the ball prior to this game, frustrating fantasy managers to no end. The Magic are starting to get bodies back on the floor after an injury-riddled start to the season, relegating Anthony to a bench role. While he will be in the rotation on a nightly basis, his playing time is likely to depend on how well he is playing. This in itself makes him a risky player to trust in fantasy leagues.
Jan 24, 2023
Pops for 18 off bench
Anthony logged 18 points (8-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals in 23 minutes off the bench during Monday's 113-98 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
With the Magic backcourt healthy again, Anthony has had trouble delivering consistent offense. The third-year guard has scored in double digits in only three of 10 games in January, averaging 9.8 points, 4.5 boards and 3.7 assists in 25 minutes a night. Anthony's ceiling still gives him some DFS tournament appeal, but he's otherwise off the fantasy radar in most formats barring another injury to Markelle Fultz or Jalen Suggs.
Jan 20, 2023
Strong scoring night Friday
Anthony notched 22 points (6-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 8-8 FT), three rebounds and four assists over 26 minutes during Friday's 123-110 victory over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Anthony scored at least 20 points for just the third time all season, playing down the stretch as the coaching staff opted to stay with the hot hand. Prior to Friday, Anthony had scored in double-digits only once in the past nine games. He can have some value as a streaming option, although as we have seen in recent times, he is hard to trust given the fact his role fluctuates from one night to the next.
Jan 14, 2023
Lethargic performance Friday
Anthony accumulated five points (1-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, four assists and one block over 19 minutes during Friday's 112-108 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was barely visible in the loss, turning in another uninspiring performance. While Markelle Fultz continues to thrive as the starting point guard, Anthony has been unable to build any sort of momentum over the past couple of weeks. During that span, he is outside the top 250 in standard formats. While he should be better than that moving forward, it is hard to see him being anything more than a situational stream option, if and when the Magic are thin in the backcourt.
Jan 8, 2023
Comes off bench for 16 points
Anthony racked up 16 points (6-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Saturday's 115-101 win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Anthony scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, providing the Magic with a much-needed spark off the bench. He added seven boards in the contest, which was second on the team to only Wendell Carter (10), while also dishing out five assists to help the Magic upset Golden State on the road. Anthony knocked down two of four three-point attempts in the contest after going 0-of-13 from beyond the arc over his previous four games and reached the 15-point mark for only the fifth time since the start of December.
Dec 29, 2022
Handed one-game suspension
Anthony will be suspended for one game for his role in Wednesday's altercation with the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will serve his suspension Friday against Washington along with RJ Hampton and Gary Harris, who were also given single-game suspensions. Markelle Fultz, Franz Wagner and Terrence Ross will take on larger roles in the backcourt Friday. Anthony will be able to play in Wednesday's game against the Thunder.
Dec 24, 2022
Sniffs triple-double off bench
Anthony registered 23 points (8-10 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds and nine assists over 30 minutes during Friday's 133-113 victory over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Anthony ended just one assist away from recording a triple-double, and the talented guard had one of the most efficient performances of his career. He only missed two shots from the field, reached the 20-point mark for the second time this season, and he also posted season-best marks in boards and assists. Anthony has been a consistent performer off the bench for the Magic, scoring in double digits in all but three games this month and averaging 13.0 points per contest in that span.
Dec 17, 2022
Delivers decent scoring off bench
Anthony recorded 14 points (7-13 FG, 0-5 3Pt), five rebounds and three assists over 29 minutes during Friday's 117-109 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Anthony couldn't quite figure out his shot from beyond the arc in this one, but he still managed to shoot 53.8 percent from the field. He's secured five or more rebounds in each of his last three contests and is averaging 12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists through eight matchups in December.
Dec 7, 2022
Leads bench in scoring
Anthony chipped in 13 points (5-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and four assists in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 116-111 overtime victory over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony led the Orlando bench in scoring, assists, rebounds and minutes played in the overtime victory, notching his seventh double digit scoring outing of the season. Anthony has posted at least 10 points, three rebounds and three assists in three of his last four outings.
Dec 6, 2022
Scoreless across 21 minutes
Anthony notched zero points (0-9 FG, 0-4 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist and two steals in 21 minutes during Monday's 109-102 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony suited up for a fourth straight game following a month-long absence due to an oblique injury, but after scoring in double figures during three straight contests, the third-year guard went scoreless across 21 minutes Monday. While the poor shooting performance was a step in the wrong direction, it doesn't appear like he suffered a setback with his injury, so it can likely be chalked up to an off night. Anthony will look to get back on track Wednesday against the Clippers.
Dec 3, 2022
Scores 19 points off bench
Anthony recorded 19 points (7-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals over 29 minutes during Friday's 107-96 loss to Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has scored in double digits in his two appearances off the bench this season, but his role is not expected to be altered no matter how well he performs since Markelle Fultz and Franz Wagner are fully entrenched as the backcourt duo while Jalen Suggs (ankle) remains out. Anthony should continue to see decent minutes as a backup, though.
Nov 30, 2022
Scores 11 points in return
Anthony totaled 11 points (3-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal across 24 minutes before fouling out of Wednesday's 125-108 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
After missing over a month with an oblique injury, Anthony played 24 minutes before fouling out. He was expected to play around 20 minutes but exceeded that total despite the foul trouble. He came off the bench Wednesday but it's probable that he'll make his way back into the starting lineup once he's closer to full strength.
Nov 30, 2022
Facing minutes restriction
Anthony will be limited to approximately 20 minutes during Wednesday's game against Atlanta, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is available Wednesday after missing just over a month due to a right oblique injury, and he'll be eased into action during his first game back on the court. Jalen Suggs (ankle) has been ruled out for the Magic, but the team will have Markelle Fultz -- who will be restricted to approximately 15 minutes -- available for the first time this year.
Nov 29, 2022
Set to return Wednesday
Anthony (oblique) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's matchup against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is expected to play Wednesday for the first time since suffering a right oblique injury during an Oct. 26 loss to Cleveland. The point guard will likely be limited during his first game action in over a month, but he should still garner a decent sized role, especially with Jalen Suggs (ankle) still sidelined.
Nov 28, 2022
Still out Monday
Anthony (oblique) will not play in Monday's game against the Nets, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has been out since late October due to a right oblique injury, but has expressed optimism a return to the court is soon to come. Joining Anthony on the sideline Monday are Markelle Fultz (toe), Jalen Suggs (ankle) and Terrence Ross (illness) which leaves R.J. Hampton, Franz Wagner, and Gary Harris to handle most of the backcourt minutes. Anthony's next chance to take the floor will come Wednesday against Atlanta.
Nov 26, 2022
Remains sidelined Sunday
Anthony (oblique) is out for Sunday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony hasn't played since Oct. 26 due to a right oblique tear. However, Anthony did tease his return on his Instagram, so it is possible that he could be available for Monday's game against the Nets.
Nov 16, 2022
Gets shots up Wednesday
Anthony (oblique) went through shooting drills following the team's morning shootaround, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony hasn't played since Oct. 26 and will likely remain out through Thanksgiving due to an oblique injury, but it's still encouraging to see him participate in basketball activities. In his absence, Jalen Suggs, R.J. Hampton and Terrence Ross have all garnered increased roles.
Nov 4, 2022
Out through Thanksgiving
Anthony (oblique) is expected to remain out into late November, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinelreports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has missed four straight contests for the Magic after suffering an oblique injury and was initially not given a timetable for return. However, it is reported that he could return in a few weeks. In his absence, Jalen Suggs and RJ Hampton will continue to see extended run.
Nov 4, 2022
Remains out Saturday
Anthony (oblique) will remain out for Saturday's game against the Kings, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Beereports.
ANALYSIS
Saturday's contest marks Anthony's fifth straight absence due to an oblique injury and remains without a timetable for a return. His next chance to suit up will come on Monday against the Rockets.
Oct 28, 2022
Team option exercised
The Magic exercised Anthony's (oblique) $5.54 million team option for the 2023-24 season Friday.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is dealing with a right internal oblique muscle injury and doesn't yet have a timetable for his return, but he'll unsurprisingly have his fourth-year option picked up by Orlando. The 22-year-old has averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 30.3 minutes per game over his first four appearances of the year.
Oct 27, 2022
Sidelined with oblique strain
Anthony was diagnosed Thursday with a right internal oblique muscle injury, with a timeline for his return set to be determined based on how he responds to rehabilitation and treatment, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Magic were already without five players due to injuries in Wednesday's 103-92 loss to the Cavaliers, and the team will be down another key contributor in Anthony. Though a timeline for Anthony's return hasn't been established, he'll presumably miss games Friday against the Hornets and Sunday in Dallas, with his absence likely to extend into the upcoming week. With all of Anthony, Markelle Fultz (toe) and Jalen Suggs (ankle) set to sit out Friday, the Magic will likely turn to Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero to absorb more playmaking responsibilities, while reserve guard R.J. Hampton should benefit from a big boost in playing time.
Oct 22, 2022
Scores 25 off bench
Anthony ended Friday's 108-98 loss to the Hawks with 25 points (8-12 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 5-7 FT), two assists, one block and a steal across 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Anthony helped the Magic jump out to an early lead with eight first-quarter points on 3-of-3 shooting while also knocking down both of his free-throw attempts in the period. He followed that up by going a perfect 3-of-3 from three-point range in the second quarter, two of which came off assists from Terrence Ross, to give Anthony 17 points at the half. Despite the hot start off the bench, the Magic forward only took four shots in the second half, making two of them, while also knocking down three of five free-throw attempts as the Hawks took the lead down the stretch.
Oct 21, 2022
Available off bench
Anthony (illness) is active for Friday's matchup with the Hawks but will come off the bench, Jake Chapman reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was a late scratch in the season opener due to a non-Covid illness but will be back in action Friday. Considering he entered the day as a game-time decision and is coming off the bench, it is likely the Magic will monitor his workload. Orlando will start the same lineup as the season opener, with Jalen Suggs operating as the point guard.
Oct 21, 2022
Viewed as GTD
Anthony (illness) participated in morning shootaround Friday but is considered a game-time decision for the evening's contest versus the Hawks, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony came down with the illness shortly before the opener Wednesday and was ultimately scratched from the contest, leading to rookie Jalen Suggs making a spot start and posting a solid effort. Suggs would likely get another look with the unit Friday if Anthony can't suit up.
Oct 20, 2022
Questionable at Atlanta
Anthony (illness) is questionable for Friday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was a late scratch for Wednesday's opener and didn't practice Thursday, but it's possible he recovers more overnight and is fine Friday. If he's cleared, there's a good chance he joins the starting lineup, which would presumably push Jalen Suggs to the bench.
Oct 20, 2022
Doesn't practice Thursday
Anthony (illness) didn't participate in Thursday's practice session, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was a late scratch for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Pistons due to his illness, and he wasn't feeling well enough to return to practice a day later. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available for Friday's matchup against Atlanta.
Oct 19, 2022
Late scratch from opener
Anthony (illness) has been ruled out of Wednesday's season opener versus the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was a late addition to the injury report due to his illness and will now skip the contest because of it. Jalen Suggs will get the call in the starting unit in his place, while Anthony will focus on getting healthy ahead of Friday's clash with the Hawks.
Oct 19, 2022
Added to injury report
Anthony is listed as questionable for Wednesday's regular-season opener against Detroit due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was previously announced as the Magic's starter at point guard, but it appears he's come down with an illness that may ultimately impact his status. The game starts at 7:00 PM ET, so an official update from the team should come soon. With Markelle Fultz (toe) sidelined, Orlando would likely pivot to Jalen Suggs or R.J. Hampton if Anthony is ruled out.
Oct 15, 2022
Scores amid barren line
Anthony racked up 14 points (4-7 FG, 6-6 FT), to go with one assist in 22 minutes of action during Orlando's 114-108 victory over Cleveland on Friday. He also had three turnovers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony supplied little outside of the scoring column, but his efficiency was refreshing. Anthony entered the contest shooting just 34.1 percent through four prior preseason contests. Anthony can typically be counted on for more well-rounded production. The 22-year-old averaged 16.3 points, 5.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game last season.
Oct 7, 2022
Back in starting lineup Friday
Anthony will start Friday's preseason contest against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony came off the bench during Thursday's preseason game, but he'll return to the starting lineup Friday. It appears Anthony and Jalen Suggs are competing for the starting point guard gig while Markelle Fultz (toe) remains sidelined.
Oct 6, 2022
Not starting Thursday
Anthony will come off the bench for Thursday's preseason game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Anthony led the Magic in scoring in Monday's preseason opener, but he'll shift to the bench Thursday as the team experiments with a different lineup. Terrance Ross will join the starting five in Anthony's place as Jalen Suggs runs the point.
Oct 4, 2022
Leads Orlando in preseason opener
Anthony totaled 17 points (6-10 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and one steal over 21 minutes in Monday's exhibition loss to Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was the Magic's leading scorer in the contest, with all but five of his 17 points coming from three-point range. The point guard didn't record any assists in the contest, but he did rank second on the team with five boards. Anthony blossomed in his sophomore campaign last season, averaging a team-best 16.3 points and 5.7 dimes. However, he may be hard-pressed to repeat those numbers if Markelle Fultz (toe) takes over the starting point-guard role this season.

Apr 9, 2022
Ruled out for finale
Anthony (toe) will not play in the Magic's season-finale matchup versus the Heat on Sunday, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony's absence will be his third straight to end the season, as the Magic will err on the side of caution with their young guard. He will end his breakout sophomore campaign with an average of 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 2.0 triples across 31.7 minutes per game.
Apr 6, 2022
Won't play Thursday
Anthony (toe) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will miss a second straight game after leaving Sunday's game after just three minutes due to the toe issue. In his absence, Markelle Fultz will likely draw another start. It's unclear if Anthony will return for Sunday's matchup against the Heat, which is Orlando's final game of the regular season.
Apr 5, 2022
Ruled out vs. Cavs
Anthony (toe) will not play Tuesday against the Cavs.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has been pushing through a sprained toe on his left foot of late, but he was unable to make it through Sunday's game against the Knicks, which he departed early in the first quarter. He'll miss at least one game to begin the final week of the season, but the Magic have not indicated that Anthony will be shut down.
Apr 4, 2022
Questionable for Tuesday's contest
Anthony (toe) is questionable for Tuesday's contest against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony left Sunday's matchup against the Knicks in the first quarter and didn't return. If he's sidelined Tuesday, Markelle Fultz may get extended run, but the Magic have been adamant about keeping a close eye on his minutes, so Devin Cannady and R.J. Hampton would likely see increased roles as well.
Apr 3, 2022
Exits early in first quarter
Anthony (toe) departed Sunday's game against the Knicks early in the first quarter and will not return, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was questionable coming into the day with a sprained left toe, and while he was cleared to start Sunday's contest, he was visibly favoring his left foot before checking out of the game at the 9:22 mark in the first quarter. Shortly after heading back to the locker room, the Magic announced that Anthony will not return. He should be considered day-to-day heading into Orlando's three-game week to finish out the regular season.
Apr 3, 2022
Will play Sunday
Anthony (toe) is available and starting Sunday against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was questionable with a sprained left toe but will play through the injury versus the Knicks. The 21-year-old is looking for a rebound performance after putting up only eight points (3-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and three assists during Friday's loss to Toronto.
Apr 2, 2022
Questionable vs. Knicks
Anthony is questionable for Sunday's game against the Knicks due to a sprained left toe.
ANALYSIS
Anthony sprained his toe during Friday's loss to the Raptors. It's possible some time off would help the second-year guard, as he's struggled since the start of March, shooting just 37.8 percent from the field. If he sits out, more minutes could be in store for Jeff Dowtin, Devin Cannady and R.J. Hampton.
Mar 31, 2022
Quiet month continues
Anthony contributed 12 points (4-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 25 minutes during Wednesday's 127-110 loss to the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Anthony concludes the month without recording a 20-point game. He's struggled to the tune of a 38.2 percent clip from the field across 15 contests in March. Anthony was generating All-Star buzz across the first third of the season, but he's regressed to inefficient volume scoring since. The North Carolina product has also regressed to 33.9 percent shooting from deep in year two.
Mar 23, 2022
Ninth double-double of season
Anthony tallied 17 points (5-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-8 FT), 11 assists and five rebounds during Wednesday's 118-102 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Anthony's team-high 11 assists tied a career best, as the guard also played well offensively to mark a ninth double-double this season. The former North Carolina standout has dished out at least 11 assists in three games this year, and has reached the 17-point mark in 29 matchups. Through 59 games played, Anthony is averaging a career-high 16.9 points per game.
Mar 22, 2022
Bounces back Tuesday
Anthony supplied 14 points (5-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and five assists in 29 minutes during Tuesday's 94-90 win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
While Anthony wasn't too efficient, Tuesday's performance was a solid bounceback from Sunday's 1-for-7 shooting game against the Thunder. The point guard has cooled off significantly since the New Year, but he's still a solid fantasy option.
Mar 14, 2022
Sniffs double-double
Anthony racked up 19 points (4-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 8-8 FT), eight rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes during Sunday's 116-114 overtime loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony didn't have his best shooting night, and in fact, he registered nearly half of his points from the free throw line, but he still ended quite close to putting up a double-double after notching a solid rebounding output. Anthony has excellent rebounding skills for a point guard, as he has 13 games with eight or more boards in the current campaign.
Mar 9, 2022
Leads team with 19 points
Anthony amassed 19 points (6-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five assists and one rebound during Wednesday's 108-102 win over New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Anthony led the Magic offensively for a second time in three games, as the guard bounced back from a rough shooting performance against the Suns on Tuesday and drilled 50.0 percent from deep. It was also Anthony's eighth straight game scoring in double digits, and the guard is averaging 16.8 points dating back to Feb. 16.
Mar 6, 2022
Leads Orlando with 19 points
Anthony finished with 19 points (7-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one block in 31 minutes during Saturday's 124-96 loss to Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Anthony made only three of 10 field-goal attempts from two-point range, but he went 4-for-6 from beyond the arc to produce a team-best point tally. The four triples were the most the point guard has knocked down since Dec. 12. Anthony has tailed off a bit since a hot start to the campaign, but he is still producing solid numbers that include 17.4 points, 2.1 three-pointers, 5.7 boards and 5.7 assists per contest.
Mar 5, 2022
Posts double-double in victory
Anthony had 15 points (5-14 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 12 rebounds and five assists in 37 minutes during Friday's 103-97 victory over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Anthony struggled with inefficiency from the floor once again Friday, but he led the team in rebounds to finish with his first double-double since Jan. 26. The 21-year-old has shot just 29.3 percent from the floor across his last three appearances, but he's had double-digit field-goal attempts in each of those games and has continued to score in double figures. Anthony has topped 10 points in eight of the last nine matchups and has averaged 15.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 32.3 minutes per game during that time.
Mar 3, 2022
Poor shooting night
Anthony chipped in 11 points (4-13 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), two rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals across 38 minutes during Wednesday's 122-114 overtime loss to the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony picked up a hip bruise during Monday's matchup against the Pacers, but he was still able to suit up for the rematch with Indiana on Wednesday. The second-year guard came into the contest shooting 42.1 percent from three, but he missed all four of his attempts from beyond the arc during the narrow overtime loss. Anthony will look to bounce back Friday against the Raptors.
Mar 2, 2022
Listed available for Wednesday
Anthony (hip) is listed as available for Wednesday's game against Indiana.
ANALYSIS
Anthony picked up a hip bruise during Monday's matchup against the Pacers, but he was initially listed as probable so it doesn't look to be anything of great concern. Anthony finished Monday's contest with 11 points, three rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes. Over his last eight games, Anthony is averaging only 15.5 points, but he's shooting 42.1 percent from three and 90.9 percent at the line (42.7% FG).
Mar 1, 2022
Dealing with hip contusion
Anthony is probable for Wednesday's contest against the Pacers due to a left hip contusion.
ANALYSIS
Anthony totaled 11 points (3-14 FG, 4-5 FT, 1-7 3Pt), three rebounds and three assists in 29 minutes during Monday's win over the Pacers, but he presumably picked up the hip injury as well. However, it doesn't appear to be serious, and he'll likely still be available Wednesday.
Feb 16, 2022
Leads team with 23 points
Anthony finished with 23 points (9-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one block in 25 minutes during Wednesday's 130-109 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony bounced back from a nine-point performance in Monday's loss to Denver with a team best offensively. The second-year guard also contributed solidly in rebounds and assists, as this was Anthony's second time this year recording at least 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Anthony is averaging 18.0 points over his past five games played.
Feb 16, 2022
Available vs. Atlanta
Anthony (ankle) is available for Wednesday's game against Atlanta, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was a late addition to Wednesday's injury report due to a right ankle sprain, but he'll be able to suit up against the Hawks. Across his last five appearances, he's averaged 15.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 32.6 minutes per game.
Feb 16, 2022
Questionable Wednesday
Anthony is questionable for Wednesday's game against Atlanta due to a right ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was limited to nine points in Monday's loss to the Nuggets and was a late addition to Orlando's injury report ahead of Wednesday's matchup. If he's held out, Gary Harris and Terrence Ross should see increased roles.
Feb 12, 2022
Scores 18 points Friday
Anthony finished with 18 points (6-12 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Friday's 114-99 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Anthony trailed only Wendell Carter Jr. for high-scoring honors for Orlando, and he was one of two Magic players to make at least half of his field-goal attempts. The point guard balanced his stat line with six boards and five dimes, though he also racked up a game-high seven turnovers. Anthony has faded a bit since the start of the campaign, but he remains a solid fantasy floor general capable of contributing across multiple categories.
Feb 9, 2022
Nears triple-double in win
Anthony racked up 23 points (9-18 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, nine assists, one block and two steals across 35 minutes during Tuesday's 113-95 victory over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony bounced back in a big way from Sunday's dud against the Celtics (nine points in 32 minutes) with one of his best all-around efforts of the season. The 2020 first-round pick has struggled to score efficiently of late -- 36.5% FG over last 10 games -- but he's still providing solid assists (6.8 APG), rebounding (4.9 RPG) and steals (1.1 SPG) production during that span.
Feb 6, 2022
Paces team with 22 points
Anthony accumulated 22 points (8-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and five assists across 31 minutes during Saturday's 135-115 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was a bright spot in an otherwise abysmal performance from the Magic, who were unable to stop Ja Morant in Saturday's loss. Anthony's scoring seems to be leveling off after a rocky January that produced several single-digit scoring totals. He's scored 15 -plus points in four consecutive games.
Feb 1, 2022
Finally reaches 20 points
Anthony had 20 points (7-16 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 35 minutes during Tuesday's 126-115 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Tuesday's performance marked Anthony's first 20-point game since Jan. 5. He's struggled lately, and in his last 12 games coming into Tuesday, he was shooting just 32.1 percent from the field. Anthony will look to build upon this effort when the Magic play again Wednesday against the Pacers.
Jan 27, 2022
Double-doubles in loss
Anthony provided 19 points (5-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds, 11 assists, one block and two steals in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 111-102 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony scored in double figures for the second straight game and tied his season-high with 11 assists en route to his third double-double of the season. The second-year guard is in the midst of a breakout campaign, but he's struggled with his shot as of late. Over his last 10 games, Anthony is shooting just 32.0 percent from the field and 25.0 percent from three. Tuesday's performance was a step in the right direction, and he'll look to build off of it Friday, when the Magic face the Pistons.
Jan 18, 2022
Cold as ice
Anthony supplied nine points (3-13 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-3 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and one steal across 28 minutes during Monday's 98-88 loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
Anthony suffered his second most inefficient shooting performance all season. He counteracted the lack of offense with a well-rounded effort in the box score, but still logged a minus-20 during his time on the floor. Anthony will look to bounce back Wednesday against the 76ers.
Jan 13, 2022
Falls short of triple-double
Anthony notched 19 points (6-17 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 11 rebounds, nine assists and one block across 33 minutes during Wednesday's 112-106 loss to the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Anthony didn't have a strong shooting performance, but he made up for the inefficiency by recording double-digit rebounds for the fourth time this season. It was the 21-year-old's sixth double-double of the campaign, and he came up just one assist short of his first career triple-double.
Jan 9, 2022
Ankle issue remains non-factor
Anthony supplied 19 points (5-18 FG, 3-12 3Pt, 6-8 FT), eight rebounds, six assists and two steals across 36 minutes during Saturday's 97-92 loss to Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Anthony missed eight of nine games due to an ankle injury, but he returned Wednesday and posted 26 points, seven assists and five rebounds in 26 minutes. However, the breakout star once again found himself on the injury report ahead of Saturday's contest against the Pistons. Nonetheless, the lingering ankle issue remains a non-factor as he's averaging 22.3 points, 8.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 33.0 minutes during three games since initially suffering the injury. The Magic have a quick turnaround and face the Wizards on Sunday, so it'll be worth monitoring to see if Orlando lists Anthony on the injury report ahead of the second half of a back-to-back.
Jan 8, 2022
Available Saturday
Anthony (ankle) is available for Saturday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will play through his sprained ankle for a second straight game. Saturday will mark just his third appearance since Dec. 17. Over his past nine showings, he's averaged 21.2 points, 5.9 assists and 4.7 rebounds in 33.4 minutes.
Jan 7, 2022
Questionable for Saturday
Anthony (ankle) is listed as questionable for Saturday's contest against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Anthony missed eight of nine games due to a lingering ankle injury, but he returned Wednesday and posted 26 points, seven assists and five rebounds in 26 minutes. However, the breakout star once again finds himself on the injury report with an ankle issue. It's unclear if the Magic are merely being precautionary, or if he suffered a setback. More information on his status will likely be given closer to Saturday's 7:00 PM ET tip.
Jan 6, 2022
Hungry in loss
Anthony contributed 26 points (9-21 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-7 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 116-106 loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony logged just 26 minutes in his return from another bout with his problematic ankle, but hoisted 21 shots and essentially assumed his full workload. Scoring a team-high 26 points, Anthony is always a focal point of the Magic offense when healthy. He is likely to be a full-go when Orlando plays Detroit Saturday.
Jan 5, 2022
Available, starting Wednesday
Anthony (ankle) is starting Wednesday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony participated in Wednesday's shootaround and was considered a game-time call against Philadelphia, but he'll return to the court Wednesday. He's missed eight of the last nine games, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him on a light minutes restriction against the 76ers.
Jan 5, 2022
Trending toward game-time call
Anthony (ankle) took part in Orlando's morning shootaround and is being viewed as a game-time call leading up to Wednesday's 7 p.m. ET tipoff versus the 76ers, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing the past five games while receiving maintenance for the right ankle he initially sprained Dec. 15, Anthony is officially listed as questionable on the injury report. Anthony's involvement in shootaround offers hope that he'll be ready to make his return to the lineup, but the Magic may not provide an update on his status until the team takes part in warmups approximately 30 minutes before opening tip. The second-year player could face a light minutes restriction if he does play, but he should unseat Tim Frazier as the team's starting point guard.
Jan 4, 2022
Listed as questionable
Anthony (ankle) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's contest against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has missed the Magic's last five games due to a right ankle sprain, but he may be able to return Wednesday. Coach Jamahl Mosley implied last week that Anthony could miss extended time, but the team continues to evaluate his status on a game-to-game basis. On the season, the 21-year-old is in the midst of a breakout campaign, averaging 20.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 34.2 minutes.
Jan 3, 2022
Out once again Monday
Anthony (ankle) will remain out for Monday's game against Chicago, Orlando Magic Daily reports.
ANALYSIS
A right ankle sprain will keep Anthony sidelined for a fifth consecutive contest. Last week, coach Jamahl Mosley implied that Anthony could miss extended time, but thus far the team has been content to evaluate his status on a game-to-game basis. His next chance to play will arrive Wednesday against the 76ers.
Jan 1, 2022
Ruled out Sunday
Anthony (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Boston.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will be sidelined for a fourth consecutive game due to a right ankle sprain, and Sunday's contest will mark his seventh absence in the last eight contests. Coach Jamahl Mosley said Tuesday that Anthony's injury may be more than a day-to-day concern, and it's not yet clear when the 21-year-old will be back in action.
Dec 29, 2021
May miss more time
Orlando head coach Jamahl Mosley suggested prior to Tuesday's 127-110 loss to the Bucks that Anthony's right ankle injury may be more than a day-to-day concern, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony initially sprained his right ankle Dec. 15 and missed the Magic's next three games, but he returned Dec. 23 against the Pelicans and was productive (22 points, 11 assists, five rebounds) in a 37-minute starting role. Though the positive showing seemed to suggest that Anthony was healthy again, Orlando has since held him out for its last two games due to "right ankle injury maintenance." While that description seemingly suggests that Anthony avoided a setback, the Magic seemingly aren't confident that the second-year guard is completely healthy yet. Based on Mosley's comments, Anthony looks doubtful to play in Thursday's rematch with the Bucks, and he could miss additional games beyond that.
Dec 27, 2021
Out again Tuesday
Anthony (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will be sidelined for the second consecutive contest after aggravating the right ankle sprain that sidelined him for three games earlier in December. Hassani Gravett , R.J. Hampton and Tim Frazier should cover the point in his absence.
Dec 26, 2021
Sitting Sunday due to ankle
Anthony won't play Sunday against the Heat due to right ankle injury maintenance.
ANALYSIS
Even though Anthony excelled in his return from a three-game absence due to the injury in Thursday's loss to the Pelicans, Orlando will withhold him from action Sunday, even though the contest is a standalone game rather than part of a back-to-back set. Assuming Anthony isn't dealing with a setback with the ankle, he should be ready to take on a heavy-minute role at point guard Tuesday against the Bucks. The Magic will likely turn to a combination of RJ Hampton, Hassani Gravett and Tim Frazier to cover minutes at point guard in Miami.
Dec 25, 2021
Considered questionable
Anthony is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Heat due to right ankle injury maintenance, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has been nursing a right ankle issue for a while, which means this injury report addition is not too surprising. RJ Hampton (not injury related), Hassani Gravett and Tim Frazier would be candidates to see extra run at point guard if he is unable to go. His status will presumably be determined by how he is feeling closer to tip-off.
Dec 24, 2021
Double-double in return
Anthony provided 22 points (7-16 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 8-9 FT), five rebounds, 11 assists, one block and one steal in 37 minutes during Thursday's 110-104 loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Anthony (ankle) was rumored to be on a minutes restriction, but returned to a full workload and contributed accordingly. Averaging 20.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.8 assists, Anthony is the fantasy centerpiece of the Magic. His 11 assists matched a season-high, and he'll look to supply another strong outing Sunday against the Heat.
Dec 23, 2021
Good to go Thursday
Anthony (ankle) will return to action Thursday against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
The Magic have been riddled with injuries and COVID absences of late, but they got some good news Thursday as both Anthony and Wendell Carter (lower leg) will be available to play. Anthony missed the previous three games, including Wednesday's win over Atlanta, due to a sprained ankle. He should slot back into the starting five at point guard.
Dec 22, 2021
Officially out
Anthony (ankle) will not play Wednesday against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
A sprained ankle will keep Anthony off the floor for the third straight game as the Magic head into yet another contest extremely shorthanded. With several other regulars, including Wendell Carter (lower leg) missing, Orlando will start Hassani Gravett, Gary Harris, Franz Wagner, Chuma Okeke and Robin Lopez. With another game on tap Thursday against New Orleans, Anthony could be liable to miss both halves of the back-to-back.
Dec 21, 2021
Listed questionable Wednesday
Anthony (ankle) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has been battling a sprained right ankle that kept him out of the Magic's last two contests -- Monday's game against Toronto was postponed -- but the hope is that he can return to action Wednesday night. The second-year guard missed a stretch of games in November with a separate ankle injury, and in the seven games since he returned, he's posted 20.4 points, 5.0 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 2.7 threes in 34.0 minutes.
Dec 19, 2021
Magic-Raptors postponed Monday
Anthony (ankle) and the Magic won't play the Raptors on Monday after the NBA announced the game will be postponed, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Even with the NBA granting the Magic four roster exemptions in recent days due to the roster being hit hard by injuries and COVID-19-related absences, Orlando would have struggled to have the league-mandated eight players available for Monday's contest. The Magic are tentatively scheduled to play their next game Wednesday in Atlanta, where they'll hope to potentially get Anthony and other injured or ill players back in action. Anthony has missed the Magic's last two games with a sprained right ankle.
Dec 18, 2021
Out at Brooklyn

ANALYSIS

Dec 17, 2021

ANALYSIS

Dec 17, 2021
Out Friday
Anthony (ankle) is out Friday against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Anthony joins an extensive injury list for the Magic, who recently added four G League players to 10-day hardship deals. Mychal Mulder will presumably see most of the point guard minutes.
Dec 16, 2021
Questionable vs. Heat
Anthony is questionable for Friday's game against the Heat due to a sprained right ankle.
ANALYSIS
Despite coming off a rough 3-for-14 performance against the Hawks on Wednesday, Anthony has been a revelation for Orlando this season and is making a real push for Most Improved Player. The Magic will be in a tough spot if he's ultimately ruled out, especially with Mo Bamba (ankle) questionable as well. If Anthony is sidelined, look for R.J. Hampton and Mychal Mulder to see increased roles.
Dec 13, 2021
Scores team-high 21 points
Anthony accumulated 21 points (6-18 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds and five assists across 35 minutes during Sunday's 106-94 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
As it has been the case during most of the season, Anthony led the Magic in scoring and was the team's most dangerous player by a wide margin. The second-year guard missed six games in late November but has been outstanding since returning, scoring at least 20 points in five of his last six contests and shooting 40.4 percent from three-point range in that span.
Dec 12, 2021
Good to go Sunday
Anthony isn't included on the injury report and appears on track to play Sunday against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony appeared to tweak his ankle at one point during Saturday's 106-104 loss to the Clippers, but any injury he might have picked up won't prevent him from playing in the second half of the back-to-back set. The second-year guard turned in another quality outing against the Clippers, logging 23 points (7-16 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and two assists in 34 minutes.
Dec 9, 2021

ANALYSIS
Anthony endured an uncharacteristically poor game his previous time out, finishing with just nine points and one assist. He rebounded in a big way Wednesday, tying a season high with 33 points and handing out eight assists. Anthony has looked good since missing six games with an ankle injury, averaging 27.7 points and 7.3 assists in three contests around Monday's nine-point clunker.
Dec 1, 2021
Guides big win in return
Anthony collected 24 points (10-21 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds and seven assists in a 108-103 win over Denver on Wednesday night.
ANALYSIS
After missing nearly two weeks with an ankle sprain, Anthony flirted with a triple-double and led the Magic to an upset victory. Picking up where he left off amid a breakout season, Anthony steps into a backcourt that will be without Jalen Suggs (thumb) for the next few weeks. His fantasy trajectory may skyrocket.
Nov 30, 2021
Not listed on injury report
Anthony (ankle) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS

Before the injury, Anthony was in the middle of a breakout campaign, averaging 19.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.1 steals across 34.1 minutes per game. It's unclear if he will have any limitations during his first game action since Nov. 19.
Nov 28, 2021
Ruled out Monday
Anthony (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will be sidelined for a sixth consecutive game as he continues to deal with a sprained right ankle. Jalen Suggs and Gary Harris should continue to start in the backcourt, while R.J. Hampton and Terrence Ross (back) will also be in line for additional work.
Nov 27, 2021
Out again
Anthony (ankle) will remain sidelined for Saturday's tilt against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony's absence will mark his fifth straight due to an ankle sprain. Thus, Jalen Suggs and Gary Harris figure to continue starting in the Magic's backcourt, while R.J. Hampton and Terrence Ross (back) could see some extra minutes off the bench. The second-year guard's next chance to return will be Monday versus the 76ers.
Nov 26, 2021
Ruled out Friday
Anthony (ankle) won't play Friday against the Bulls, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony with miss his fourth straight game Friday due to a sprained right ankle. Jalen Suggs and Gary Harris are expected to once again draw starts in the Magic's backcourt, while R.J. Hampton and Terrence Ross (back) are likely to see increased roles off the bench.
Nov 25, 2021
Questionable vs. Bulls
Anthony (ankle) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
The second-year guard has missed the last three games, putting the brakes on what's been a breakout campaign. If he's able to play Friday, he'll look to pick up where he left off, averaging 21.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.2 steals and 3.0 three-pointers over his last 12 contests.
Nov 23, 2021
Out Wednesday vs. Charlotte
Anthony (ankle) is out for Monday's contest against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will miss his third straight game after rolling his ankle against the Nets on Friday. With Gary Harris (hand) questionable, Jalen Suggs, R.J. Hampton and Terrence Ross are all candidates for increased roles Wednesday. Anthony's next chance to suit up will be Friday when the Magic face the Bulls.
Nov 22, 2021
Will miss second straight game
Anthony (ankle) will not play Monday against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony rolled his ankle against the Nets on Friday and was subsequently held out of Saturday's loss at Milwaukee. He's still battling the injury, so he'll remain sidelined as Orlando tips off a four-game Week 6. With Gary Harris (hand) also out, expect Jalen Suggs, R.J. Hampton and Terrence Ross to be among the primary beneficiaries.
Nov 21, 2021
Questionable for Monday
Anthony (ankle) is listed questionable for Monday's game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony missed Saturday's game against the Bucks but appears to have a chance at returning for Monday's rematch. With both he and Gary Harris questionable, R.J. Hampton could be in line for his first start of the year if neither play.
Nov 20, 2021
Out with ankle sprain
Anthony will not play in Saturday's matchup with the Bucks due to a right ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Anthony presumably picked up the injury in Friday's 115-113 loss to the Nets. He compiled 16 points (6-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds and nine assists across 32 minutes in the contest. The absence will be his first of the season. As a result, Jalen Suggs, Gary Harris and R.J. Hampton all figured to see increased minutes.
Nov 20, 2021
Nears double-double against Nets
Anthony logged 16 points (6-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds and nine assists across 32 minutes during Friday's 115-113 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony had recorded double-doubles in each of the last two games, but he fell one assist short of the mark in Friday's defeat. However, he's now scored 15-plus points in four consecutive games and has averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 8.8 assists in 34.5 minutes per contest during that time.
Nov 18, 2021
Near triple-double
Anthony compiled 15 points (5-21, 1-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds, seven assists and one steal in Wednesday's 104-98 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
The near triple-double masked an absolutely brutal night from the field for the emerging second-year guard. Anthony nearly set a career high in terms of field-goal attempts, but the dismal efficiency is indicative of his play this past week as the 21-year-old is shooting just 35.3 percent from the field and a ghastly 25.8 percent from deep over the last four games. Those numbers figure to gravitate back towards his season averages as the season wears on, even with the increased offensive usage amidst a clearly breakout 2021-22 campaign.
Nov 16, 2021
Big double-double in loss
Anthony tallied 29 points (11-19 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 11 assists, three rebounds and two steals across 36 minutes Monday in the Magic's 129-111 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
The second-year point guard continues to build a compelling case for the NBA's Most Improved Player Award after clearing 20 points for the eighth time this season while coming away with his third double-double. Not only are Anthony's scoring (20.2 per game) and assists (5.6 per game) up dramatically from his rookie season, but he's done so while displaying more efficiency on the offensive end. Despite a spike in usage, Anthony's 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio is in line with last season's mark, while his 58.1 True Shooting Percentage is up 8.5 percentage points from 2020-21.
Nov 14, 2021
Carries Orlando in loss
Anthony posted 22 points (4-16 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 11-12 FT), four rebounds, eight assists and one block in 34 minutes during Saturday's 104-92 loss to the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has scored at least 20 points in three of his last four games, and he ended just two assists shy of putting up his third double-double of the campaign. The young point guard has emerged as the Magic's main scoring threat and is averaging 19.5 points per game so far, a remarkable rise considering he posted 12.9 points per tilt during his rookie year.
Nov 8, 2021
Carries Magic to emphatic victory
Anthony ended with 33 points (13-20 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, three steals, two assists and two steals in 32 minutes during Sunday's 107-100 victory over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Anthony's breakout season continued Sunday as the Magic put up easily their best performance of the season. Despite going undrafted in a large number of leagues, fantasy managers were quick to snap him up early and to this point, there has been no looking back. While there could be a decline coming as the season progresses, for now, we simply have to sit back and enjoy the show.
Nov 7, 2021
Active Sunday
Anthony (ankle) will be active for Sunday's game against the Jazz, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony reportedly suffered a sprained left ankle in Friday's loss against the Spurs but was still able to turn in one of his most complete performances so far this season. The second-year guard is averaging 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 34.3 minutes per game and should continue to operate in his typical high-usage role Sunday.
Nov 6, 2021
Questionable Sunday
Anthony is questionable Sunday against the Jazz due to a sprained left ankle.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is having a breakout sophomore season, with the point guard averaging 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 34.3 minutes. If he sits out Sunday, more minutes would be available for R.J. Hampton.
Nov 6, 2021
Bounces back in loss
Anthony compiled 21 points (8-18 FG, 4-10 3PT, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and two steals across 35 minutes in Friday's 102-89 loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Anthony bounced back from a sub-par performance in Wednesday's loss to the Celtics by contributing across the board Friday. All-in-all, he has taken a leap forward through 10 games games this season. With Jalen Suggs, this year's Lottery selection, struggling early, last year's No. 15 pick has exceeded expectations thus far. He is averaging 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 3.1 triples across 34.3 minutes per game.
Nov 4, 2021
Struggles from field in loss
Anthony had 13 points (4-18 FG, 2-11 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds and four assists across 37 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has scored in double digits in each of his nine appearances this season, but he's been prone to have up-and-down outings when it comes to his efficiency and shooting percentages. Even though he's one of Orlando's most reliable scoring threats, as evidenced by the fact that he's averaging 18.7 points per game so far, he's also shooting just 41.8 percent from the field. He's been effective from deep, though, making 40.3 percent of his treys to date.
Nov 2, 2021
Sparks comeback in second half
Anthony posted 31 points (8-17 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 9-11 FT) nine rebounds, eight assists, two steals and a blocked shot across 38 minutes in Monday's 115-97 win over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
After falling behind early, Anthony went toff for 14 points in the fourth quarter to put the game away for good. With one of the youngest lineups in the league, the Magic are thriving with Anthony as their floor general. The North Carolina product also came close to his first career triple-double, collecting nine rebounds and eight assists.
Oct 31, 2021
Records double-double
Anthony recorded 15 points (6-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt), 10 rebounds and three assists across 35 minutes during a 110-103 loss Saturday at Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Anthony made at least six field goals as he did during the Magic's previous four games. However, his rebound tally was surprising. Anthony remains a young point guard averaging multiple assists (5.3) across the 2021-22 season. Yet, Anthony's 7.4 rebound average is better and indicates how versatile he has been alongside his 17.7 points per game.
Oct 27, 2021
Scores 24 in loss
Anthony ended Wednesday's loss to the Hornets with 24 points (11-20 FG, 2-7 3Pt), six assists, five rebounds and one steal in 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Anthony recorded his second 20-point performance of the season as well as making an impact with his rebounding and playmaking. The second-year guard has been able to stuff the stat sheets on two occasions this year, however he has been less impressive outside of those games. Apart from his two 20-point performances, Anthony is averaging just 10.7 points while shooting 28.2 percent from the field and 21.1 percent from deep. The youngster has certainly been a boom-or-bust player this season but could be extremely valuable if he improves his offensive consistency.
Oct 26, 2021
Solid after blowup game
Anthony produced 12 points (5-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and two steals across 32 minutes in Monday's 107-90 loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
We can safely assume that Anthony's performance on Sunday was an anomaly, but it's an encouraging sign for the youngster, who's been plagued by injury throughout his short career. 2021 could be the year where he puts it all together, and if he stays healthy, the rest of his game looks solid. Although Jalen Suggs appeared to be an initial threat to Anthony's usage, the team seems to be content fielding them together.
Oct 24, 2021
Monster game in upset win
Anthony finished Sunday's win over the Knicks with 29 points (9-16 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 6-7 FT), 16 rebounds, eight assists and one steal.
ANALYSIS
Coming off of a pair of unremarkable games to begin the season, Anthony spearheaded a late charge to propel the Magic to their first win of the season. Anthony's 16 rebounds were by far a career best (his previous high was nine), while his 29 points were his second-most in any of his 50 career NBA games. As one of several young pieces on a rebuilding team, Anthony's production will fluctuate night to night, but the upside he flashed Sunday will stick in the minds of fantasy managers. For now, his spot in the starting lineup looks to be more solidified than that of rookie Jalen Suggs, who finished Sunday's game with 11 points and four turnovers in 24 minutes.
Oct 10, 2021
Not starting Sunday
Anthony is not starting Sunday's preseason game versus San Antonio, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite recording 12 points (2-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-7 FT) and six rebounds across 22 minutes at New Orleans on Wednesday, Jalen Suggs will be the Magic's starting point guard Sunday.
Oct 6, 2021
Will start Wednesday
Anthony will start in Wednesday's preseason game against the Pelicans, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will make his first start of the preseason after posting 16 points, six rebounds and six assists in Monday's opener against Boston. Jalen Suggs will shift to the bench after getting the start at point guard on Monday.
Oct 4, 2021
Goes for 16-6-6 off bench
Anthony finished Monday's preseason game against Boston with 16 points (6-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt), six rebounds and six assists.
ANALYSIS
While the Magic opted to bring Anthony off the bench, the second-year guard seemed to embrace the role, tying for the team-high in points and leading the Magic in assists in just 22 minutes of action. It remains to be seen how Orlando will handle its starting lineup when the regular season begins, but Anthony figures to play a key role as one of the few young keystones on a rebuilding team.
Oct 4, 2021
Not starting preseason opener
Anthony will come off the bench for Monday's preseason opener against the Celtics, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Magic will roll with rookie Jalen Suggs at point guard, while Gary Harris starts at shooting guard and Terrence Ross gets the nod at small forward. It's important not to ready too much into the lineup for a meaningless preseason game, but it's possible new head coach Jamahl Mosley could experiment with using Anthony, who started 34 of 47 appearances as a rookie, in a reserve role this season. The 15th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft averaged 12.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.2 threes in 2020-21.
Aug 2, 2021
Will play in Summer League
Anthony will play for the Magic's Summer League team along with fellow guard R.J. Hampton, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony had a strong rookie season as he averaged 12.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 27.1 minutes. The guard played an important role for Orlando as he started most games during the regular season. Anthony likely will see a large role with the Summer League team if he can remain healthy, as he's coming off an injury-plagued rookie season.
May 17, 2021
Explodes for 37 points
Anthony finished with 37 points (10-25 FG, 3-9 3Pt. 14-14 FT). eight rebounds, two assists and a steal across 38 minutes in Sunday's 128-117 loss to the Sixers.
ANALYSIS
An early-season injury from Markelle Fultz propelled Anthony into the starting job at point guard and seemed poised for a ROY run, but the injury bug bit him as well. His performance in the season finale is an excellent example of the UNC product's enormous upside, and Fultz's propensity for injury certainly makes an argument for him to retain the starting nod next season.
May 15, 2021
Another double-digit scoring effort
Anthony recorded 11 points (4-9 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), five rebounds, three assists and a steal across 21 minutes in Friday's loss to the Sixers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has settled himself as the Magic's starting point guard over the last few weeks and has started 16 games in a row, posting at least 10 points in all but two of those contests. He's on a run of five straight double-digit scoring outputs and while the Magic have been struggling badly, he's been one of the few standout performers. The North Carolina product is averaging 13.8 points per game in eight games this month.
May 14, 2021
Posts 12/7/6 line
Anthony tallied 12 points (5-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and one steal in 23 minutes during Thursday's 116-93 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
After totaling just 12 points back on May 3 and May 5, Anthony is averaging 15.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 three-pointers over his last four games. The 20-year-old has been producing decent points, rebounds, and assists in his first year, but his 39.2 percent field-goal shooting through 45 games will need to improve if he wants to take a step forward next season. The rookie will look to help break the Magic's five-game skid Friday on the road against the 76ers.
May 9, 2021
Poor shooting effort in loss
Anthony totaled 11 points (4-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and three assists in 24 minutes of Sunday's 128-96 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has struggled shooting in the month of May, hitting just 35.6 percent of his shots while committing nearly as many turnovers (16) as he has assists (19). On the bright side, he does have two 20-point outings in five games this month while adding 5.0 rebounds per contest.
May 8, 2021
Pops for 20 against Hornets
Anthony scored 20 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT) while adding six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal in 29 minutes during Friday's loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
The rookie had managed only 12 points over his prior two games, but Anthony bounced back with a big effort Friday. It's only the third time this season he's dropped at least 20 points, but two of those performances have come in the last four games, and since returning to the lineup from a rib injury a month ago he's averaging 14.3 points, 4.9 boards, 4.9 assists and 1.3 threes.
May 2, 2021
Scores season-high 26 points
Anthony had 26 points (6-15 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 10-11 FT), eight rebounds, six assists and three steals across 36 minutes in Saturday's win over the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has looked impressive since returning to the starting lineup and while the 26-point performance represents the best game of his young NBA career so far, it's also worth mentioning he has scored at least 15 points in four games in a row for the first time this season. He's averaging 17.1 points, 5.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game across his last nine starts.
May 1, 2021
Goes for 15 points in loss
Anthony mustered 15 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt), six rebounds and two assists across 29 minutes in Friday's loss against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
The Magic looked woeful on offense Friday, as they shot 31.4 percent from the field and 23.1 percent from three-point range as a team, but Anthony was one of the few decent performers. He's scored at least 15 points in six of his last eight starts and hasn't registered fewer than 14 points in that stretch, averaging 16.0 points per game in that eight-game span and serving as one of the Magic's go-to players on offense of late.
Apr 28, 2021
Improving from field
Anthony scored 18 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT) to go along with four rebounds and three assists across 31 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony topped 30 minutes for the fourth time in his last six games, during which he's averaged 15.7 points. He's also utilized the extra time on the floor to showcase improved efficiency, as he's managed to shoot 43.0 percent from the field. Anthony has also recorded 6.2 assists per game in that span, though he saw a downturn in that area Wednesday.
Apr 27, 2021
Team-high seven assists
Anthony registered 15 points (6-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 0-2 FT), seven assists, four rebounds and a block over 33 minutes in Monday's loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has blossomed as a facilitator over his last seven games averaging 6.3 assists to go along with his 15.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest. The Magic have been among the lowest scoring teams in the league so for Anthony to put up this kind of production says something about his talent.
Apr 22, 2021
Scores 14 in loss
Anthony registered 14 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three assists, one rebound and one steal in 25 minutes during Thursday's 135-100 loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old has now scored double-digit points in eight of his last nine games, a span in which he's averaging 13.5 points, 5.6 assists and 4.5 assists. Anthony has started the last four games for the Magic and should continue starting as long as Michael Carter-Williams (ankle) is out of the lineup. The rookie will look to extend his stellar play Sunday at home against the Lakers.
Apr 20, 2021
Excellent in loss to Hawks
Anthony accumulated 17 points (6-15 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), eight assists, five rebounds and two steals in 31 minutes during Tuesday's 112-96 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony's three-point shooting was off, but he had a good performance from inside the arc and made his way to the free-throw line for the 15th time in three games. The performance marks the rookie's third straight with at least 16 points and five assists.
Apr 18, 2021
Dishes out nine dimes
Anthony dropped 16 points (5-14 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), nine assists, four rebounds, two blocks and a steal over 34 minutes during Sunday's 114-110 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony finished tied for second on the team in scoring despite the inefficient shooting performance. Anthony is averaging 17.5 points, 7.0 assists, 5.5 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, and 0.5 steals in the two games since joining the starting lineup for the injured Michael Carter-Williams (ankle). Anthony will look for another solid performance when the Magic take on the Hawks on Tuesday.
Apr 16, 2021
Scores 19 in start
Anthony recorded 19 points (6-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds and five assists in 29 minutes during Friday's loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old joined the starting five with Michael Carter-Williams (ankle) sidelined and posted his highest-scoring effort since Jan. 25. Before Friday's game, Anthony was averaging 11.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 24.0 minutes off the bench over his past five games since returning from a rib injury that cost him 25 games. The rookie should start at least one more game for the Magic with Carter-Williams out of the lineup.
Apr 16, 2021
Starting in MCW's absence
Anthony will start Friday's contest against the Raptors, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
With Michael Carter-Williams (ankle) sidelined, Anthony will join the starting five for the first time since Feb. 9. As a starter, the rookie has averaged 12.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 29.0 minutes.
Apr 15, 2021
Plays 21 minutes off bench
Anthony played 21 minutes off the bench and added 10 points (5-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), five assists and three rebounds during Wednesday's win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Anthony played just six fewer minutes than Michael Carter-Williams and had nearly the same impact on the box score. While he's shot fewer than 10 shots in consecutive games, he's been much more efficient shooting than ball as opposed to when he first returned from injury. In five April games off the bench, Anthony is averaging his highest assist total of any month during his rookie campaign.
Apr 12, 2021
Fills stat sheet off bench
Anthony mustered 12 points (5-16 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block across 27 minutes off the bench in Sunday's loss against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony came off the bench but still made his presence felt, as he was one of two Orlando players that posted double-digit scoring figures while pacing the team in both rebounds and assists as well. Anthony has come off the bench in his first three games since returning from a lengthy absence but has looked productive, averaging 11.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game during that stretch.
Apr 7, 2021
Adds seven dimes in return
Anthony (ribs) totaled 13 points (5-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven assists and a rebound across 26 minutes off the bench Wednesday in the loss to the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was one of four reserve players for the Magic to score in double figures compared to just two starters. Wednesday marked the first time in nearly two months the rookie saw any action due to fractured ribs and he was about on par with his season averages in terms of points and shooting percentage. The first time he stepped on the court, Anthony went on a scoring barrage, totaling seven points in 48 seconds.
Apr 7, 2021
Coming off bench in return
Anthony (ribs) will come off the bench in his return Wednesday against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is playing for the first time since Feb. 11, and coach Steve Clifford will opt to bring the rookie off the bench while Michael Carter-Williams remains in the starting five. Once Anthony gets settled back into the rotation, it's possible he re-joins the starters. In his 17 starts this season, the 15th overall pick has averaged 12.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.9 rebounds in 29.0 minutes.
Apr 7, 2021
Says he's ready to play
Anthony (ribs) said he's "ready to play" in Wednesday's game against the Wizards, Dan Savage of OrlandoMagic.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The team hasn't officially given Anthony the green light, but all signs point to the rookie getting back on the floor Wednesday for the first time since Feb. 11. Anthony, who went through a full practice Tuesday, could face some initial limitations, but he'll likely reclaim the starting point guard spot as the Magic focus on player development down the stretch. In his 17 starts this season, the 15th overall pick has averaged 12.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.9 rebounds in 29.0 minutes.
Apr 6, 2021
Questionable Wednesday
Anthony (ribs) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup against the Wizards,
ANALYSIS
Anthony has been sidelined since Feb. 11 due to broken ribs. He was able to practice Tuesday, and it's possible he makes his long-awaited return Wednesday. If he does see the court, the rookie could have a minutes limit. Long-term, Anthony could see more offensive responsibility than he had earlier in the season since the Magic traded away its top three offensive options at the deadline. In his 17 starts this season, the rookie has averaged 12.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.9 rebounds in 29.0 minutes.
Apr 6, 2021
Takes part in practice
Coach Steve Clifford said Anthony (ribs) practiced Tuesday and could play Wednesday against the Wizards, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony hasn't played since early February, but after about two months on the sidelines, he looks nearly ready to return from having fractured ribs. The rookie could immediately become the starting point guard once he returns, though his workload will likely slowly be ramped up.
Mar 30, 2021
Could return in early April
Coach Steve Clifford said that Anthony (ribs) could return once the team concludes its current five-game road trip on April 4, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has been sidelined since Feb. 9 due to fractured ribs, but his return looks to be on the horizon in April. The team's first home game after its current Western Conference road trip comes April 7 against the Wizards, at which point the 20-year-old could return if he doesn't have any additional setbacks. Michael Carter-Williams will likely see a deceased workload when Anthony eventually returns.
Mar 24, 2021
Remains without timeline
Anthony (ribs) is taking part in on-court activities but hasn't been cleared for contact and doesn't appear close to returning to games, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old's fractured ribs aren't totally healed, so he'll need to undergo an MRI to gain clearance before participating in any contact work. Anthony is progressing in his recovery but remains without a firm timetable for his return to game action. Michael Carter-Williams should continue operating as Orlando's primary point guard in the meantime.
Mar 17, 2021
Without firm timetable
Anthony (ribs) went through some light shooting at practice Tuesday, but he does not appear close to returning to game action, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
While it's a good sign that the rookie was able to return to some on-court work, coach Steve Clifford did not sound overly optimistic about Anthony's chances to return in the near future. "I don't know exactly [when he'll be back]," Clifford said. "But it's not that close." For now, expect Michael Carter-Williams to continue handling starting point guard duties for Orlando, which has dropped its last eight games.
Mar 13, 2021
Won't play Sunday
Anthony (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Miami.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has missed over a month due to a fractured rib. It's not yet clear when he could return, but Michael Carter-Williams should continue to play an increased role in his absence.
Mar 12, 2021
Ruled out again
Anthony (ribs) is ruled out for Friday's game against the Spurs, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony hasn't played since early February while working to recover from a fractured rib. The Magic haven't offered an updated timetable for the rookie's return since previously having ruled him out through the All-Star break. As long as he's sidelined, Michael Carter-Williams should continue starting while Terrence Ross and Dwayne Bacon also handle increased workloads.
Mar 10, 2021
Remains out Thursday
Anthony (ribs) will remain out for Thursday's game against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
In mid-February, the Magic ruled Anthony out through the All-Star break, but it looks like he'll require some additional time to recover from a fractured rib. The Magic haven't issued an updated timetable, but the rookie will almost certainly remain out for Friday's game at San Antonio, as well.
Feb 16, 2021
Out with fractured rib
Anthony was diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture of his first right rib and won't return before the All-Star break, which begins March 3, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old missed the past three games after suffering the injury Feb. 9, and he'll be sidelined for at least a month due to the injury. Anthony has no official timetable for his return, but the earliest he could be back will be the first game after the All-Star break, which is expected to be March 10 or 11. Michael Carter-Williams should continue to start at the point for Orlanod, and Terrence Ross and Dwayne Bacon should also have increased roles.
Feb 14, 2021
Unavailable Sunday
Anthony (shoulder) won't play Sunday against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will miss a third straight game due to a right shoulder strain. Evan Fournier (back) and James Ennis (groin) are also unavailable, so Michael Carter-Williams, Terrence Ross and Dwayne Bacon should see plenty of usage Sunday.
Feb 13, 2021
Questionable Sunday
Anthony (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has missed the last two games due to a strained right shoulder, but he's questionable once again heading into Sunday's matchup. If he's unable to play, Michael Carter-Williams, Terrence Ross and Dwayne Bacon could see increased run for the Magic.
Feb 12, 2021
Ruled out Friday
Anthony (shoulder) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Kings, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was initially considered questionable for Friday's contest, but he'll miss a second straight game due to a right shoulder strain. Michael Carter-Williams, Terrence Ross and Dwayne Bacon could see increased run for Orlando on Friday.
Feb 12, 2021
Questionable Friday
Anthony (shoulder) is questionable for Friday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Anthony missed Thursday's game against the Warriors due to a strained right shoulder, but he could return as soon as Friday. If he's sidelined again, Michael Carter-Williams, Terrence Ross and Dwayne Bacon could end up handling the ball more often.
Feb 11, 2021
Sidelined with shoulder issue
Anthony (shoulder) is ruled out for Thursday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Anthony will be forced to miss at least one game due to his should strain. With Michael Carter-Williams (foot) also out Thursday, Frank Mason could be in line for a hefty workload. To make matters worse for the Magic, Evan Fournier (back) is also inactive.
Feb 10, 2021
Questionable Thursday
Anthony (shoulder) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Warriors, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony suffered a strained shoulder Tuesday against the Trail Blazers, but he's avoided the need for an MRI and play as soon as Thursday. If he sits out, Frank Mason would presumably start at point guard.
Feb 10, 2021
Likely to avoid MRI
Anthony isn't expected to require an MRI after he exited Tuesday's 106-97 loss to the Trail Blazers with a right shoulder strain, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
The Magic appear confident that Anthony's shoulder injury is purely a muscular rather than a structural concern, leaving the team optimistic that the rookie will avoid an extended absence. That said, Anthony's status for Thursday's game at Golden State is unclear, making him the latest member of the Magic's growing list of injured players. After Anthony was limited to only 14 minutes Tuesday, Frank Mason (33 minutes) ended up picking up most of the extra playing time at point guard, finishing the contest with 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Feb 9, 2021
Exits with shoulder strain
Anthony suffered a right shoulder strain and won't return to Tuesday's game at Portland.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old had four points (2-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and four rebounds in 14 minutes before suffering the injury during the second quarter, and he won't be retaking the court after halftime. Anthony should be considered questionable for Thursday's matchup with the Warriors until the team updates his status. Frank Mason should see increased run at the point for Orlando in the meantime.
Feb 5, 2021
Dishes out career-high nine dimes
Anthony racked up 17 points (6-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT), nine assists, four rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes during the Magic's 123-119 victory over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is starting to find his rhythm shooting the ball as he has now hit at least 50 percent of his shots in three straight games. Another area of Anthony's game that has improved has been his passing. He has dished out 29 assists over his last five outings, including his career-best nine dimes in Friday's win. One issue for the rookie has been turnovers, coughing the ball up 14 times over his last four games.
Feb 2, 2021
Solid performance in loss
Anthony went for 16 points (7-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal in Tuesday's 123-108 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
After two consecutive games scoring less than 10 points, the Magic rookie has now gone for 16 points in back-to-back games against the Raptors. In 14 games since joining the starting lineup, Anthony is averaging 12.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 40.8 percent from the field over 29.8 minutes per game.
Jan 31, 2021
Steady production in Sunday's loss
Anthony totaled 16 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds and six assists in 32 minutes during Sunday's 115-102 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Anthony is certainly starting to add an element of consistency to his game as he becomes more familiar with his new role. The common traits of a rookie point guard are certainly going to be present for quite a while but his recent production has been more than encouraging. Aaron Gordon (ankle sprain) left Sunday's game early and if he is forced to miss time, Anthony's role on the offensive end could shift more towards that of a facilitator.
Jan 25, 2021
Pops for career-high 21
Anthony scored 21 points (8-12 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 1-3 FT) while adding five rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes during Monday's 117-108 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
The rookie set a new career scoring high while also setting a new personal best in made threes during his brief NBA career. Anthony still has the occasional hiccup but he's been fairly steady lately, averaging 13.3 points, 4.9 boards, 3.4 assists, 2.0 threes and 0.9 steals over the last eight games.
Jan 24, 2021
Contributes 14 points in loss
Anthony went for 14 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3PT), six assists, five rebounds, one steal and one block over 33 minutes in Sunday's 107-104 loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
In nine games since being inserted into the starting lineup, Anthony has six games scoring 10 or more points while playing an average of 29.3 minutes per game.
Jan 20, 2021
Nails game-winning three
Anthony scored 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-3 3Pt) while adding seven rebounds, three assists and a block across 28 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was deadly from beyond the arc, and he drilled the game-winning three at the buzzer that allowed the Magic to steal what seemed to be an unlikely road win given their fourth-quarter comeback. Anthony has taken over the starting role following Markelle Fultz's season-ending knee injury and is averaging 12.1 points and 3.1 assists per game in this last seven contests, all of them as a starter.
Jan 16, 2021
Teases double-double in loss
Anthony scored 16 points (6-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding eight assists, three rebounds, three steals and a block in 29 minutes during Saturday's 122-115 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
The assists and steals were new personal bests for Anthony while the points tied the rookie's career high. Since being moved into the starting lineup five games ago, the 15th overall pick in the 2020 draft is averaging a respectable 13.2 points, 3.6 assists, 3.2 boards, 1.2 steals and 1.0 threes a game.
Jan 15, 2021
Puts up 15 points
Anthony posted 15 points (7-18 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds and three assists across 27 minutes in Friday's loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has scored in double digits in three of his four games as a starter, but he has been far from impressive -- he is shooting just 35.8 percent from the field and 16.6 percent from three-point range while also posting a 10:13 assist-to-turnover ratio in that four-game stretch. Anthony is likely to remain as the Magic's starting point guard, but he depends on heavy volume to make an impact as a scorer and is not bringing too much to the table aside from that.
Jan 11, 2021
Cold shooting streak continues
Anthony (quadriceps) scored 12 points (4-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and added three rebounds, one assist and one steal in Monday's 121-99 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Anthony injured his quad during Friday's loss but it hasn't stopped him from starting his third consecutive game in the absence of Markelle Fultz (knee) for the season. So far, the rookie out of North Carolina has struggled to find his touch, shooting less 40 percent from the field in nine of 11 games and hasn't made more than one three-pointer in any game.
Jan 9, 2021
Starting as expected
Anthony (quadriceps) is starting Saturday's game against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old was considered probable after picking up the quad injury during Friday's loss to Houston, and he'll be back on the court Saturday. Anthony had 15 points (6-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three assists, two rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes Friday and will continue to start with Markelle Fultz (knee) lost for the season.
Jan 9, 2021
Likely to play Saturday
Anthony is probable for Saturday's game against Dallas with a right quad contusion.
ANALYSIS
Anthony probably picked up the injury during his first start Friday against Houston when he posted 15 points in 28 minutes. However, the rookie is still likely to play during Saturday's matchup against Dallas.
Jan 9, 2021
Scores 15 in blowout defeat
Anthony posted 15 points (6-14 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three assists, two rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes during Friday's 132-90 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
As advertized, Anthony played fewer than 30 minutes in his first start of the season. He came just one point shy of tying his season high in scoring despite being unable to convert anything from three-point range. The 20-year-old should continue to see plenty of playing time now that Markelle Fultz is done for the season with a torn ACL.
Jan 8, 2021
To start, might not see 30 minutes
Anthony will start Friday's game against the Rockets but won't play "Markelle Fultz-level minutes," Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Anthony was apparently struggling with the 32 minutes he received when he took over for Fultz on Wednesday. So he'll start, but he might not see 30-plus minutes. He still makes for an intriguing DFS option, but the risk is higher than previously assumed.
Jan 7, 2021
In for bigger role with Fultz out
Anthony should be in line for a bigger role with Markelle Fultz (knee) ruled out for the season.
ANALYSIS
Fultz suffered a torn ACL during Wednesday's win over the Cavaliers. Anthony ended up playing 32 minutes in that game, posting eight points (4-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt), four rebounds, three assists and one block. The rookie has struggled with his shot this season, hitting 30.3 percent of his looks, but he's both passed (3.4 APG) and rebounded (4.9 RPG) well in his 21.4 minutes. If Anthony can get his shot to connect, he has plenty of fantasy upside this season.
Jan 1, 2021
Plays team-high 30 minutes Thursday
Anthony produced 16 points (5-18 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes during Thursday's 116-92 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
With Evan Fournier (back) forced to leave the game after only three minutes, Anthony found himself thrust into the fire. He came through for anyone that had him active and could be in for an increased role should Fournier or Terrence Ross (calf) miss any further time. Anthony will certainly do your field goal percentage no favors but he is not afraid to let fly and does have some upside in assists.
Dec 28, 2020
Scores 12 off bench
Anthony had 12 points (3-9 FG, 0-2 3PT, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds and three assists in Sunday's win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Anthony scored in double-figures for the first time in his career and got to the line six times after not shooting a free throw in his last two games. The North Carolina product has looked promising as a scorer and distributor (14 assists in 55 total minutes) thus far, but he's only averaging 18.3 minutes per game off the bench.
Dec 18, 2020
Continues to provide scoring spark
Anthony scored 13 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 3PT, 2-2 FT) to go along with one rebound, two assists and two steals across 20 minutes in Thursday's preseason loss to the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Anthony has showed the ability to pile up points in spurts across his last two preseason games. He's shot especially well from from deep, making five of his eight attempts from three-point range. Though Markelle Fultz is locked into starter's minutes at point guard, Anthony should continue to provide scoring punch off the bench during the regular season.
Dec 13, 2020
Goes for 16 off bench
Anthony had 16 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 3PT, 2-4 FT), four rebounds and four assists in Sunday's preseason loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
The 15th overall pick in the 2020 Draft was a spark plug off the bench, hitting six of his 10 field goal attempts, including two three-pointers. Fantasy-wise, Anthony is in one of the best situations of any rookie this season.
