The Nuggets traded Saric to the Kings on Tuesday in exchange for Jonas Valanciunas, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.

Sacramento needed some depth at forward after losing Jake LaRavia in free agency, but this move is likely just to reduce salary for the 2025-26 season. The Kings will become Saric's seventh NBA team, as he has become quite the journeyman. Saric saw his most playing time in nearly a month and capitalized with one of his better all-around efforts of the campaign. His six assists Thursday were a season-high mark, and his 13 points came on a very efficient 5-for-7 shooting line. Saric has shown the ability to be a valuable bench contributor from time to time this season, and his per-game averages of 10.3 points and 5.8 boards are both on pace for his highest marks since the 2019-20 campaign. However, his production and minutes haven't been consistent enough to make him a must-roster player in most fantasy formats.

Saric chipped in two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes during Tuesday's 121-115 victory over the Magic.

Saric's 14 minutes ties his second-lowest mark of the season. With Draymond Green suspended indefinitely, Trayce Jackson-Davis has been elevated to a starting role, leaving Saric and Kevon Looney to battle for backup minutes. From Nov. 1 through Dec. 28, Saric averaged 11.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 20.9 minutes per game, but he's totaled just five points, 12 rebounds and five assists in 29 minutes over his last two appearances. Barring another change, Saric is likely a drop candidate in standard leagues.

Even though he continues to come off the bench, Saric has been getting more playing time at center of late than starter Kevon Looney. Saric is averaging 13.0 points, 7.3 boards, 2.0 triples and 1.3 assists in 21.0 minutes in his three games since moving to the bench, while Looney has been limited to 16 minutes or fewer in each of those contests.

Saric isn't in the starting five for Friday's game versus the Thunder, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

With Draymond Green serving the final game of his latest suspension, Saric put together his best all-around performance of the season, although it was Moses Moody who slid into the starting five in Green's place. Saric has scored in double digits in six of the last seven games while spotting in and out of the starting lineup, averaging 15.0 points, 6.1 boards, 2.9 assists, 2.1 threes and 1.3 steals over that stretch. His court time had been creeping up even before Green was sidelined, so this recent surge in production may not be due to dry up -- Saric averaged 18.8 minutes through the first eight contests of the season, but that numbers has jumped up to 24.1 in nine games since.

Saric lacks a dependable floor, but he's been indispensable when called upon to start, or play extended minutes if the starters are struggling. He's a full-time platoon with Kevon Looney, but his mid-range shot allows him to extend beyond the paint and inflict damage as a scorer.

Saric has played off the bench in each of the Warriors' eight contests so far, but he's trending up after putting up double-digit points in three of his last four appearances. His chances of landing a starting role are not realistic, however. Hence, fantasy managers who are looking to add Saric to their rosters need to know the nature of his role, which is probably going to translate into quite a few ups and downs. The scoring potential is there, though.

Saric has seen between 19 and 21 minutes in each of the Warriors' last four games, and while that level of playing time usually isn't conducive to producing useful fantasy lines, the veteran big man has been able to make it work. He's averaging 11.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.3 three-pointers over those four contests, but Saric's excellent run of production won't necessarily inspire head coach Steve Kerr to move him into the starting five in place of Kevon Looney. Though Looney was limited to just 11 minutes Friday, he had been dealing with foul trouble, and the Warriors seem to value his defensive versatility and ability to attack the glass while handling a low-usage role alongside the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins.

Saric and Chris Paul have a connection from their shared time in Phoenix, and the familiarity was obvious when both players were on the floor. Saric's success was largely due to Paul's ability to find him open. Saric will surprise you with a drained three-pointer here and there, but his bread and butter is in the rebound category.

There is no reason to be adding him based on this effort alone, although he is a player to watch, should he somehow carve out a consistent role down the stretch.

Saric was considered probable for Thursday due to a bruised right knee, but he's since been given the green light by the Suns' training staff. He's averaging 10.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists over his last 10 games.

It's a similar situation for the forward, as Saric was deemed probable heading into Tuesday's contest and winding up playing. However, if that's not the case Thursday, Cameron Johnson and Kelly Oubre will likely fill in.
