Thompson moved into the starting lineup for the first time in his young career, logging at least 28 minutes for the second straight game. Although his numbers don't jump off the page, he certainly had an impact when it mattered most, securing a number of key offensive rebounds down the stretch. At this stage, there is no reason to prioritize him outside of deeper formats. However, he is worth monitoring everywhere, just in case his hustle translates into viable fantasy production.

Thompson will start against the Kings on Monday.

Thompson wasn't efficient from the field, but he contributed on offense in other ways and led both teams with six dimes. Thompson spent the 2024-25 season in the G League with the Osceola Magic, averaging 17.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals over 33.5 minutes per game in 47 contests.

Thompson signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Heat on Wednesday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Thompson will tag along with the Heat for training camp after being waived from his two-way contract with Orlando back in July. The 26-year-old has not appeared in an NBA game since going undrafted in 2021.

Thompson was a standout performer for Orlando's affiliate in Osceola in 2024-25, averaging 17.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 three-pointers, 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals in 33.5 minutes per contest over 47 total appearances.
