Sochan continues to quietly put together a fantastic season, falling just one rebound short of another double-double. While his teammate, Victor Wembanyama, typically gets all the attention, Sochan's play is a big reason for the Spurs' success this season. Across 17 games, he is averaging 15.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 steals in 29.3 minutes per game.

Sochan contributed 20 points (8-14 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal in 42 minutes during Thursday's 133-126 overtime win over the Hawks.

Making his third straight start, Sochan produced at least 20 points for only the second time this season, after he dropped a season-high 22 on the Rockets back on Oct. 28. The third-year forward made his second start in five games since returning from a thumb fracture that cost him most of November, but Sochen's production has been steady regardless of his role. Since rejoining the lineup Dec. 3, he's averaging 13.2 points, 8.2 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.8 blocks while shooting 51.0 percent from the floor.

This may have been a case of the coaching staff opting to lighten his workload, rather than giving him the night off altogether.

Sochan is not in the Spurs' starting lineup for Friday's game against the Kings.

Sochan started against the Bulls on Thursday and finished with 16 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and one steal over 36 minutes. However, he will revert to a reserve role for Friday's game as Zach Collins get the start at center due to Victor Wembanyama (back) being sidelined.

He was typically available late in drafts and at this point, it appears as though he could be a great risk vs. reward option.

Sochan was efficient from the floor and made his presence felt on the glass, constantly winning rebounding battles against the likes of Jabari Smith and Alperen Sengun en route to his first double-double of the season. Sochan has surpassed the 15-point mark in his first two appearances of 2024-25 and looks comfortable operating as the Spurs' second offensive option behind Victor Wembanyama in the absence of Devin Vassell (foot). That new-found role on offense should increase Sochan's fantasy upside in the short term.

Sochan (rest) does not carry an injury designation into Thursday's contest versus Dallas.

Sochan told police he "lost control of his vehicle" and hit a guardrail on the ramp connecting two highways. His car was the only one involved in the crash, and while there was extensive damage to his Porsche, Sochan refused EMS services and walked away unharmed. After a promising rookie campaign, Sochan was shifted to point guard last year, but that experiment failed miserably. After moving back to forward, Sochan found his footing again and is expected to play a key role in the Spurs' frontcourt next to Victor Wembanyama in 2024-25.

Sochan (ankle) averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.0 three-pointers and 1.0 blocks in 29.0 minutes per game over his two appearances for the Polish national team this month in Olympic qualifying tournament games.

Sochan saw extended playing time in losses to The Bahamas and Finland in group play. Though Poland has now been eliminated from qualifying for a spot in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the 21-year-old Sochan looks like he'll head into training camp at full health for the Spurs after missing the club's final eight games of the 2023-24 season due to a left ankle impingement.

Sochan scored effectively inside, although he is still cemented in a 2-for-25 shooting slump from beyond the arc across his last nine contests. The second-year forward remains a project offensively, which makes his ability to put forth quality production in the meantime impressive. That being said, the Spurs have more merit to be patient than fantasy managers if Sochan isn't up to par with the wire.

Sochan destroyed New Orleans on the glass Friday, with nine of his rebounds being offensive. He catalyzed a 55 to 39 team advantage in the rebounding battle Friday, although he was a negative factor in San Antonio racking up 18 turnovers compared to just nine for New Orleans. His three-point shooting remains entirely unreliable, but his third double-double of the season signifies his versatility and ability to impact the game.

Sochan amassed 18 points (8-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 108-98 loss to the Magic.

Sochan was efficient from the field and also recorded double-digit boards for the second time in his last four games. Even though Sochan has a somewhat secondary role on offense behind Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vassell, he's finding ways to be productive now that he's back in his regular power forward role. He's averaging 14.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game over his last 10 outings.

Sochan chipped in 31 points (12-20 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists and two steals in 32 minutes during Friday's 116-100 victory over Portland.

Sochan led all Spurs players in scoring and threes made while ending as one of three players with 10 or more rebounds in a 30-point double-double performance. Sochan, who also tallied a pair of assists and steals, set a season high in rebounds, now hauling in 10 or more boards in two games this season. He has tallied 30 or more points in two games, with the other being a season-high 33 points recorded Nov. 30.

Sochan ended Saturday's 131-127 victory over Washington with 23 points (8-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 28 minutes.

Sochan had one of his best outings of the season Saturday, and aside from making some clutch free throws down the stretch, he was impressive with his contributions in peripheral categories. Sochan has scored in double digits in eight of his 10 appearances in January and hit the 20-point mark in two of his last four. His fantasy upside will only grow if he finds a way to score at this rate on a more consistent basis, as his contributions in other categories make him a player with a solid base for category-based leagues.

Sochan posted 11 points (5-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists, one block and one steal in 34 minutes during Friday's 124-120 loss to the Hornets.

Sochan was a couple of rebounds and assists away from registering his first triple-double of his young career. The second-year forward out of Baylor is averaging 12.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.1 steals over 30.3 minutes per game in January.

Sochan ended Friday's 135-99 victory over Charlotte with 13 points (5-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals in 26 minutes.

Sochan is no longer running the show at point guard for the Spurs, but he continues to deliver decent all-around numbers from his power forward role thanks to his ability to stretch out the floor and play in the perimeter. He's been putting up decent numbers of late, averaging 12.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 0.8 steals per game over his last five outings.

Sochan (quad) will play Sunday versus Cleveland.

Sochan is listed as probable for Sunday's game versus the Cavaliers due to left quadriceps soreness.

Sochan hasn't missed a game this season and isn't expected to do so Sunday despite dealing with a quadriceps injury. The second-year forward is averaging 11.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 29.4 minutes across his last 10 appearances.

Sochan appeared to be turning a corner offensively to end December, averaging 19.3 points on 61.1 percent shooting across a three-game stretch. However, since then, he's averaged just 8.0 points on 35.5 percent shooting over the last four games. Sochan can contribute in multiple ways, giving him fantasy value, but his offensive struggles this season have left managers wanting more. Sochan is just inside the top 150 in eight-category leagues, so unless there's a clear upgrade, he likely needs to remain rostered in standard leagues.

Sochan supplied 16 points (6-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one block across 31 minutes during Thursday's 118-105 victory over Portland.

After inconsistent production through most of December, Sochan appears to be heating up. The second-year forward has scored at least 16 points in three straight games, averaging 19.3 points, 7.0 boards, 3.3 assists and 2.3 threes while shooting 61.1 percent from the floor and going 7-for-12 (58.3 percent) from beyond the arc. He has yet to go more than three games in a row this season scoring in double digits, however.

Sochan registered 23 points (9-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds and four assists in 30 minutes during Saturday's 144-119 loss to the Mavericks.

Sochan was coming off eight straight games in which he couldn't score more than 11 points, but he bounced back admirably here and delivered one of his best outings of the campaign while ending just one rebound away from recording a double-double. Sochan hasn't been playing well of late and is averaging just 9.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in December, and those numbers are not good enough to keep him rostered outside of very deep leagues.

Sochan recorded seven points (3-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists and one steal across 35 minutes in Monday's 93-82 loss to the Rockets.

After a one-game benching, Sochan has started in San Antonio's last two games, but he's seen more time off the ball as a forward while Devin Vassell and Malaki Branham have handled more of the ball-handling responsibilities. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Spurs plan to take a committee approach to the point guard spot moving forward, after Sochan had previously taken on that role for much of the season to limited success. In addition to Vassell, Branham and Sochan, bench guard Tre Jones will also serve as a ballhandler when he's on the floor. The arrangement is likely to result in fewer assist opportunities for Sochan, who has already seen his usage dip below 15 percent in both of his last two starts, well down from the 18.9 percent rate he's carrying for the season.
