Sees extended run with Banchero out
Isaac registered three points (0-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds and one steal across 16 minutes during Wednesday's 124-107 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac tied his season high in minutes, as Paolo Banchero exited the game early due to a groin strain, though Isaac didn't make too much of an impact. The forward could see an increase in playing time, as Banchero is expected to miss some time, but Isaac typically operates under a minutes restriction, which limits his upside even in a shorthanded frontcourt.
Nov 4, 2025
Limited opportunities Tuesday
Isaac amassed two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and two rebounds in nine minutes during Tuesday's 127-112 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Isaac barely saw the floor in the loss, continuing what has been a very disappointing start to the season. Although he has been largely healthy, he has seen double-digit minutes only twice through seven games. For the season, he is averaging just 2.0 points and 1.9 rebounds in 8.4 minutes per game.
Oct 30, 2025
Another short outing in loss
Isaac posted one block over six minutes during Wednesday's 135-116 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Isaac continues to be uninvolved in the Magic's rotation to start the season, not seeing the floor for over seven minutes in the games he does play, as more minutes have seemingly been allocated to Tristan da Silva and Noah Penda. Isaac's next opportunity to contribute comes Thursday against the Hornets.
Oct 24, 2025
Barely touched floor in loss
Isaac notched no counting stats across zero minutes during Friday's 111-107 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac played just nine seconds in the loss, a worrying sign for a player with very little wiggle room when it comes to minutes and production. He was the 11th man in the rotation, and at this point, it appears as though he is going to be used sparingly by the coaching staff. There is no reason to be holding him in any formats.
Oct 17, 2025
Plays well off bench
Isaac produced 13 points (6-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds and two blocks in 13 minutes of Thursday's 132-125 preseason win over New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Isaac made the most of his limited minutes Thursday, showing some nice touch around the rim and his shot-blocking prowess as well. Although Isaac is a solid per-minute fantasy producer in category leagues, minutes may be hard to come by in Orlando's loaded frontcourt.
Oct 16, 2025
With second unit
Isaac is coming off the bench in Thursday's preseason finale against the Pelicans, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Paolo Banchero will replace him in the starting lineup. The Magic will likely have restrictions for the oft-injured Isaac in 2025-26 once again.
Oct 12, 2025
Gets starting nod
Isaac will start Sunday's preseason game against Miami, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Paolo Banchero and Desmond Bane are both getting a night off for rest purposes, so Isaac will draw the start alongside Wendell Carter. Isaac has had a tough preseason so far, as he's shooting 14.3 percent from the field through two games.
Apr 13, 2025
Double-doubles in start
Isaac provided 12 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal in 19 minutes during Sunday's 117-105 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac received his first start of the season, recording just his second double-double. Despite being relatively healthy this year, Issac's playing time has remained limited, averaging just 15.4 minutes per game through 71 games. The Magic will now host the Hawks in the first round of the Play-In tournament, with the winner moving on to face the Celtics.
Apr 13, 2025
Getting spot start
Isaac will start Sunday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
With Cory Joseph (knee), Franz Wagner (knee) and Paolo Banchero (ankle) out, the Magic will start Isaac, Anthony Black, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Tristan da Silva and Wendell Carter.
Apr 4, 2025
Sees 14 minutes in win
Isaac finished with four points (1-4 FG, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals over 14 minutes during Thursday's 109-97 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Isaac continues to be used sparingly by the Magic. Over his last seven games, he's seen just 11.9 minutes per contest with 1.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks on 33.3 percent shooting from the field.
Mar 20, 2025
Sees just eight minutes
Isaac ended Wednesday's 116-108 loss to Houston with two points (1-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds, one block and two steals in eight minutes.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has now been held to single-digit minutes in three straight contests. He does have a combined two blocks and five steals during that span, but he's miles off the fantasy radar in standard formats with these types of workloads.
Mar 7, 2025
Off injury report for Saturday
Isaac (illness) is off the injury report for Saturday's game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will return to game action after missing Thursday's loss to the Bulls due to an illness. The big man has averaged 2.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in 13.5 minutes per game over six outings since the All-Star break.
Mar 6, 2025
Late scratch Thursday
Isaac is out for Thursday's game versus the Bulls due to an illness, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite not showing up on the injury report all day, an illness will keep Isaac out of Thursday's contest. Tristan da Silva, Jett Howard and Caleb Houstan are candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence. Isaac's next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with Milwaukee.
Feb 23, 2025
Good to go
Isaac (illness) is available for Sunday's game against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has shaken off a questionable tag and will return to action after missing Friday's loss to the Grizzlies due to a non-COVID illness. He's averaged only 3.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.6 blocks across 15.0 minutes per game in seven February appearances.
Feb 22, 2025
Questionable to play Sunday
Isaac (illness) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Wizards, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac missed Friday's loss to the Grizzlies with a non-COVID illness, but it seems it wasn't a severe problem, as the questionable tag suggests he might have a shot at playing after the one-game absence. Even if he's available, Isaac's return should create a lot of waves in fantasy. He's averaging only 3.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.6 blocks across 15.0 minutes per game in seven February appearances.
Feb 21, 2025
Not playing Friday
Isaac (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was able to play through a back issue during Thursday's win over the Hawks, but he's recently come down with an illness and will be sidelined for Friday's contest. Tristan da Silva and Jett Howard are candidates to see their playing time increase due to Isaac's illness.
Feb 21, 2025
Downgraded to questionable
Isaac (illness) is questionable to play Friday against Memphis, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
After a quiet outing Thursday versus Atlanta, Isaac is in danger of missing the second game of Orlando's back-to-back. If Isaac does end up sidelined, expect Tristan da Silva and Jett Howard to see extended playing time.
Feb 21, 2025
Quiet in victory over ATL
Isaac (back) registered two points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one rebound in 11 minutes during Thursday's 114-108 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac saw limited playing time during his return from a one-game absence in the club's final contest before the All-Star break due to a back injury. Over his last five outings, the big man has averaged 4.4 points and 4.0 rebounds in 16.0 minutes per game. Isaac will likely continue to compete for playing time in the frontcourt behind Tristan da Silva, Wendell Carter and Goga Bitadze. However, it's unlikely that Isaac will consistently receive more than 20 minutes per game in a healthy frontcourt.
Feb 19, 2025
Available to play
Isaac (back) is available to play for Thursday's game against the Hawks, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac sat out the final game before the All-Star break Wednesday against the Hornets, his first absence since Dec. 10. However, he's no longer showing up on the injury report and is likely to be rejuvenated after an extended rest.
Feb 12, 2025
Downgraded to out
Isaac (back) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was a late addition to the injury report and will ultimately miss Orlando's final game before the All-Star break, marking his first absence since Dec. 10. In Isaac's stead, Caleb Houstan and Jett Howard are candidates to enter the rotation again.
Feb 12, 2025
Added to injury report
Isaac (back) is now questionable for Wednesday's game against the Hornets, Mason Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Magic have added Isaac to the injury report late due to a back injury, which doesn't bode well for his chances of playing. If the 27-year-old is ultimately downgraded to out, more minutes would be available to Wendell Carter and Tristan da Silva from Orlando's bench.
Feb 8, 2025
Flirts with double-double
Isaac amassed 14 points (6-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt) and eight rebounds over 18 minutes during Saturday's 112-111 victory over the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Isaac fell two rebounds short of just his second double-double of the season, scoring double-digits for the tenth time in 48 games played. The Magic continue to run with a three-center lineup, meaning Isaac's playing time is unlikely to elevate beyond 20 minutes on most nights. He provides them with an elite defensive presence, both at the rim and on the perimeter. However, a well-documented injury history is likely to limit his upside moving forward.
Jan 23, 2025
Good to go against Portland
Isaac (illness) is available for Thursday's game versus the Trail Blazers, Jake Chapman of the Magic Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has been upgraded from questionable to available Thursday despite dealing with an illness. Isaac is averaging 7.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 16.6 minutes across his past 10 outings.
Jan 22, 2025
Iffy for Thursday
Isaac (illness) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac left Tuesday's game after just five minutes of action as he attempted to play through his illness. He remains day-to-day, however. Franz Wagner (conditioning) could potentially make his return Thursday, making minutes even harder to come by for Isaac.
Jan 21, 2025
Won't return against Toronto
Isaac is out for the remainder of Tuesday's game versus the Raptors due to an illness, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports. Isaac will finish the contest with zero points (0-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and two rebounds in five minutes.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was dealing with an injury heading into Tuesday's contest but attempted to give it a go. The 27-year-old guard was only able to last five minutes before being ruled out for the remainder of the game. Isaac's next chance to suit up is Thursday's matchup with Portland.
Jan 21, 2025
Cleared to play Tuesday
Isaac (illness) will play in Tuesday's game against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will play through an illness and be available off Orlando's bench Tuesday. Across his last seven games, Isaac has averaged 9.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks.
Jan 21, 2025
Listed as questionable
Isaac (illness) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Isaac and Cole Anthony (illness) were both late additions to the injury report after presumably waking up under the weather. Isaac has put together some strong showings in January after a sluggish start to the season, but his low workloads make him difficult to rely on in fantasy formats.
Jan 13, 2025
Season-best performance off bench
Isaac posted 20 points (8-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 11 rebounds, two blocks and an assist in 27 minutes during Sunday's 102-99 win over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac logged his first double-double since 2019, along with season highs in points and rebounds in the narrow victory, marking undoubtedly his best outing of the year. With Franz Wagner (oblique) expected to remain sidelined for an extended period of time and Tristan da Silva (illness) leaving Sunday's game early, Isaac has an opportunity to continue building off the performance, especially if da Silva misses further time. However, he'll still find himself jostling with Caleb Houstan, who started Sunday, for minutes even if da Silva remains out going forward. His next chance to take the court comes Wednesday against the Bucks.
Jan 7, 2025
Nears double-double Monday
Isaac ended Monday's 103-94 win over the Knicks with 13 points (4-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and two blocks over 25 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was a standout performer off the bench as Orlando secured a comfortable win Monday despite being shorthanded. Isaac is likely to continue playing as a member of the second unit, but the lack of frontcourt depth could lead to an increase in his minutes in the short-term picture.
Dec 30, 2024
Pulls down nine boards
Isaac logged five points (2-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one steal across 19 minutes during Sunday's 102-101 victory over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
This was Isaac's fourth game of the regular season with at least nine rebounds. His role continues to leave a lot to be desired, limiting him to a rebounding and shot-blocking specialist in fantasy formats with 4.7 boards and 1.3 blocks in just 16.7 minutes per contest.
Dec 16, 2024
Plays 15 minutes in return
Isaac (hamstring) tallied three points (1-1 FG, 1-1 3Pt), three rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 15 minutes off the bench in Sunday's 100-91 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
After missing the Magic's last three games with a right hamstring strain, Isaac made his return to action Sunday and, as usual, offered most of his value on the defensive end. Though Paolo Banchero (oblique) still looks to be at least a week away from being cleared to play, Isaac may not get the chance to see his minutes ramp up dramatically while the Magic deploy Wendell Carter as their starting power forward.
Dec 15, 2024
Good to go Sunday
Isaac (hamstring) is available for Sunday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Isaac has been upgraded from probable to available and will suit up after missing the previous three games due to a right hamstring injury. Ove his last 12 appearances, Isaac has averaged 19.1 minutes per game.
Dec 14, 2024
Probable to play Sunday
Isaac (hamstring) is probable for Sunday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has missed Orlando's last three outings due to a right hamstring injury, but his involvement in practice Friday suggests he should be available to return to the hardwood Sunday. Isaac is averaging 6.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game this season, so he shouldn't carry a lot of fantasy upside, especially since he's played off the bench in his 21 regular-season appearances.
Dec 13, 2024
Returns to practice
Isaac (hamstring) participated in Friday's practice, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has missed Orlando's last three outings due to a right hamstring injury. However, the 27-year-old forward's return to practice is a good sign of his availability for Sunday's NBA Cup Semifinals matchup against New York.
Dec 10, 2024
Ruled out against Milwaukee
Isaac (hamstring) won't play in Tuesday's NBA Cup Quarterfinals game against the Bucks, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will miss his third straight contest Tuesday after being downgraded from questionable to out due to right hamstring soreness. Isaac's next chance to suit up could come Saturday if Orlando is able to advance to the NBA Cup Semifinals.
Dec 9, 2024
Questionable for Tuesday
Isaac (hamstring) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has missed the past two games for Orlando, but he remains day-to-day. With the Magic expected to be without Franz Wagner (oblique) for a while, Isaac could potentially step into a larger role upon his return.
Dec 8, 2024
Ruled out Sunday
Isaac (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was a late scratch ahead of Friday's loss to the 76ers due to right hamstring soreness, and he'll miss his second consecutive outing Sunday with the hamstring issue. With the big man sidelined, Moritz Wagner and Goga Bitadze should split playing time at center. Isaac's next chance to play will come Tuesday against the Bucks.
Dec 7, 2024
Questionable to play Sunday
Isaac (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was a late scratch for Friday's game against the 76ers due to right hamstring soreness. Moritz Wagner, Wendell Carter and Goga Bitadze would see additional playing time if Isaac is unable to play Sunday.
Dec 6, 2024
Ruled out Friday
Isaac (hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the 76ers, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was a late addition to the injury report due to right hamstring soreness and won't suit up for the first time since Oct. 28. With the big man sidelined, Moritz Wagner and Goga Bitadze should split playing time at the center position.
Dec 6, 2024
Late addition to report Friday
Isaac (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was a late addition to the injury report due to right hamstring soreness. If the big man is sidelined, Moritz Wagner and Goga Bitadze should split playing time at the center position.
Dec 5, 2024
Off injury report
Isaac has been removed from the injury report for Friday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac sustained a leg injury in Wednesday's contest against Philadelphia and did not return, but he appears to be good to go for Friday. In 21 games, he is averaging 6.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 0.2 assists, 1.4 blocks and 0.9 steals over 17.0 minutes.
Dec 4, 2024
Early exit in win
Isaac (leg) left Wednesday's 106-102 win over the 76ers during the fourth quarter and did not return. He logged 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt), four rebounds, two steals and two blocks prior to exiting.
ANALYSIS
Isaac took a short trip to the locker room late in Wednesday's victory after suffering right leg cramps. He returned back to the Magic bench midway through the fourth quarter but didn't retake the floor. He should be good to go for Orlando's rematch with Philadelphia on Friday.
Dec 4, 2024
Questionable to return
Isaac is questionable to return to Wednesday's game against the 76ers due to a right leg cramp, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac briefly went back to the locker room grabbing at his leg, but he was just dealing with a cramp. Considering there are only a few minutes left in the contest, it wouldn't be surprising to see Isaac stay on the bench the rest of the way.
Dec 4, 2024
Heads to locker room
Isaac went back to the locker room during Wednesday's game against the 76ers with an apparent right hamstring injury, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac left Wednesday's contest early in the fourth quarter grabbing at his left hamstring. While he's idle, Tristan da Silva and Jett Howard could see more minutes.
Dec 2, 2024
Gets in foul trouble
Isaac ended Sunday's 100-92 victory over Brooklyn with two points (1-1 FG), one rebound and one block across eight minutes.
ANALYSIS
With Isaac picking up four fouls, the Magic went in a different direction Sunday night. Prior to this dud, Isaac had seen at least 19 minutes in eight of his previous nine games. He's been a shot-blocking specialist in fantasy to open the season, averaging 1.4 swats in just 17.2 minutes per game.
Nov 23, 2024
Season-high 12 boards vs. Pistons
Isaac supplied five points (1-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 12 rebounds, three blocks and two steals over 23 minutes during Saturday's 111-100 victory over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Isaac made just one of his six field-goal attempts but managed to finish Saturday's contest as the game's leading rebounder and tied Goga Bitadze for most blocks on the Magic. It was just the second time Isaac has logged double-digit rebounds this season, and since Nov. 1 he's averaged 6.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks over 17.7 minutes per game.
Nov 15, 2024
Near double-double off bench
Isaac finished Friday's 98-86 victory over the 76ers with 11 points (4-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, one block and one steal across 25 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Isaac and Moritz Wagner provided a spark off the Magic bench Friday, with the former finishing with a team-high plus-21 point differential and one rebound shy from registering his first double double of the regular season. Over his last five outings, Isaac has averaged 8.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.0 steals over 17.8 minutes per game.
Nov 13, 2024
Owns paint in near double-double
Isaac logged eight points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt), 11 rebounds, one assist and three blocks across 22 minutes during Wednesday's 94-90 win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac provided a big lift off the Magic bench in Wednesday's contest, leading all bench players in rebounds while pacing the team in blocks and coming up two points shy of a double-double. Isaac set new season highs in blocks and boards, posting his first double-digit rebound outing of the year. He has now recorded at least eight points in four contests, including in three of his last five outings.
Nov 10, 2024
Good to go Sunday
Isaac (hamstring) is available for Sunday's game against the Wizards, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Isaac has been upgraded from probable to available and will suit up for a seventh straight game. Even with Wendell Carter (foot) sidelined, Isaac's playing time has been limited, averaging 13.8 minutes per game over his last six appearances.
Nov 9, 2024
Expected to play Sunday
Isaac (hamstring) is listed as probable for Sunday's game versus the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Isaac injured his hamstring against the Pelicans but is expected to suit up Sunday. If he's upgraded to available, Isaac should continue to operate as a bench option in Orlando's forward rotation.
Nov 8, 2024
Questionable to return
Isaac is considered questionable to return to Friday's game versus the Pelicans due to right hamstring tightness.
ANALYSIS
Isaac compiled 10 points (4-4 FG) and two rebounds across nine minutes before leaving the game. In his absence, Tristan da Silva could see increased minutes at power forward, while Moritz Wagner would also be a candidate for more run.
Oct 31, 2024
Plays well in return from hip issue
Isaac (hip) logged 14 minutes off the bench and tallied eight points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal in Wednesday's 102-99 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Isaac produced solid per-minute numbers in his return to the court following a three-game absence due to a left hip contusion. While Isaac and Moritz Wagner should continue to operate as the Magic's primary backup big men moving forward, Isaac's lengthy injury history could deter Orlando from scaling up his minutes dramatically, even once he becomes further removed from the hip issue. Between his 65 appearances in the regular season and postseason in 2023-24, Isaac topped 25 minutes on just four occasions.
Oct 30, 2024
Will play Wednesday
Isaac (hip) has been cleared for Wednesday's game against Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will suit up for his first outing since Orlando's season opener on Oct. 23. Jett Howard is a candidate to be bumped from the rotation, while Paulo Banchero could receive a few extra breathers following a mammoth week -- although Isaac will likely be slowly re-incorporated as well.
Oct 29, 2024
Questionable for Wednesday
Isaac (hip) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Isaac may miss a fourth straight game, but he's reportedly nearing his return to game action. If he remains sidelined, Gary Harris, Cole Anthony and Jett Howard would be candidates for slightly more minutes.
Oct 28, 2024
Ruled out Monday
Isaac (hip) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will miss a third straight game but is getting closer to a return. In his lone appearance this season, Isaac logged three points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 11 minutes off the bench. In his absence, Gary Harris, Cole Anthony and Jett Howard have been given chances off the bench.
Oct 28, 2024
Considered a game-time call
Isaac (hip) will be considered a game-time decision Monday against the Pacers, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is "doing better," but the Magic will re-evaluate his status after warmups. In his lone appearance this season, Isaac logged three points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 11 minutes off the bench.
Oct 27, 2024
Listed questionable for Monday
Isaac (hip) is questionable for Monday's game against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is in jeopardy of missing a third consecutive game due to a left hip contusion. The 27-year-old left the regular-season opener against Miami on Wednesday early after logging only 11 minutes due to the hip injury. If Isaac is ruled out, Moritz Wagner will likely see extra playing time.
Oct 26, 2024
Ruled out Saturday
Isaac (hip) is out for Saturday's game against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
A left hip contusion has prevented Isaac from playing again after logging just 11 minutes in the season opener Wednesday against the Heat, where he posted three points and three rebounds. As such, the towering forward will have to keep waiting for his moment to return to the court. His next chance to play will come against the Pacers on Monday.
Oct 26, 2024
Iffy against Memphis
Isaac (hip) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is in danger of missing his second straight contest Saturday while recovering from left hip soreness. If the 27-year-old forward is ruled out. Availability has been an issue throughout Isaac's career, as he hasn't made more than 60 regular-season appearances since 2018-19.
Oct 25, 2024
Won't suit up vs. Nets
Isaac (hip) has been ruled out of Friday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Isaac left Wednesday's matchup against the Heat due to left hip soreness, during which he logged three points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 11 minutes off the bench. With the 27-year-old out, the Magic will likely take an extended look at Moritz Wagner behind Wendell Carter at center. Isaac's next chance to feature will come Saturday against the Grizzlies.
Oct 24, 2024
Iffy against Brooklyn
Isaac (hip) is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Isaac left Wednesday's regular-season opener early due to left hip soreness and was unable to return. If Isaac is forced to miss Friday's contest too, Moritz Wagner, Caleb Houstan and Tristan da Silva are candidates to receive increased playing time.
Oct 23, 2024
Exits with sore hip
Isaac won't return to Wednesday's game against the Heat due to left hip soreness.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will leave Wednesday's regular-season opener against Miami with three points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three rebounds, one steal and two blocks across 11 minutes off the bench. The 27-year-old's next chance to play will come Friday against Brooklyn, the first leg of a back-to-back set.
Oct 19, 2024
Tallies three defensive stats
Isaac produced five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3PT), two blocks and one steal in seven minutes during Friday's 114-99 preseason win over Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Isaac played limited minutes off the bench but still managed to have a sizeable impact on the defensive end. Now fully healthy, Isaac has been able to put together an injury-free preseason for the first time in what feels like forever. The Magic are unlikely to extend him too much, something that does put a cap on his overall value. With that said, he is one of the most enigmatic fantasy players typically available late in drafts. If you can afford to take a chance, he is worth considering just in case he can cobble together a consistent 20-minute role.
Jul 2, 2024
Staying in Orlando
The Magic and Isaac agreed to a five-year, $84 million contract renegotiation and extension on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has spent the first five years of his career in Orlando and is now set to spend another five with the franchise. In 2023-24, the 26-year-old forward averaged 6.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 15.8 minutes across 58 appearances. While availability has always been an issue for Isaac, he is one of the NBA's best and most versatile defenders when on the floor.
May 5, 2024
Won't start Game 7
Isaac Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com Sunday's Game 7 against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
With Gary Harris (hamstring) returning to the starting lineup after missing Game 6, Isaac will return to a bench role. Across three appearances as a reserve during the opening-round series, Isaac has averaged 9.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 19.3 minutes per game.
May 3, 2024
Will start Game 6
Isaac will start Friday's Game 6 against the Cavaliers, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac started the first two games of the opening-round series at center but returned to the bench with Orlando facing an 0-2 hole. He'll move back into the starting lineup Friday in place of Gary Harris (hamstring). Isaac has averaged 8.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 steals in 21.4 minutes over the first five games of the series.
Apr 28, 2024
Strong outing off bench
Isaac finished with 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 20 minutes during Saturday's 112-89 victory over Cleveland in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Isaac delivered his best outing of the postseason, and Wendell Carter played well as a starter, so it's safe to assume both players will stick in their current roles after swapping places to start the postseason. Across four postseason games against Cleveland, Isaac has averaged 8.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.3 steals in 21.3 minutes.
Apr 25, 2024
Won't start Game 3
Isaac is not in the starting lineup to face the Cavaliers on Thursday, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac started the first two games of the series, where he averaged 6.5 points and 4.5 rebounds across 24.5 minutes per contest, but he'll head back to the bench here. Wendell Carter will get the nod in the frontcourt alongside Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner.
Apr 20, 2024
Limited impact in spot start
Isaac had 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist, three blocks and three steals in 29 minutes during Saturday's 97-83 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
This was Isaac's second start of the season, and while he posted better numbers than Wendell Carter, Isaac had a rough outing from the field while dealing with the defensive presence of Jarrett Allen. Given how outmatched Carter looked in the few minutes he had out there, Isaac could remain in the starting unit for Game 2 of the series Monday.
Apr 20, 2024
Starting Game 1
Isaac will start at center in Saturday's Game 1 matchup with the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
The Magic will start the season the same way the ended it, as Isaac has replaced Wendell Carter in the starting lineup. The latter was nursing back pain towards the end of the regular season, so it remains unclear if this is simply injury related or a decision on Orlando's part to keep Isaac in the starting lineup going forward. The 26-year-old averaged 6.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.5 blocks across 17.0 minutes in two starts this season.
Apr 14, 2024
Starting Sunday
Isaac is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will run with the first five, while Wendell Carter (back) is medically cleared but likely fighting through nagging back pain. Isaac is flanked by Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner in Orlando's frontcourt Sunday.
Apr 10, 2024
Not listed on injury report
Isaac (back/rest) isn't listed on Orlando's injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Surprisingly, Isaac is cleared to suit up for the second half of Orlando's back-to-back set after posting 10 points, eight rebounds, two steals and a block in 22 minutes during Tuesday's loss in Houston. The oft-injured forward's workload will likely be monitored, but if Franz Wagner (ankle) sits out again, Isaac should play a significant role versus Milwaukee.
Apr 9, 2024
Good to go against Houston
Isaac (back) is available for Tuesday's game versus the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has been upgraded from questionable to available Tuesday despite dealing with back spasms. The 26-year-old forward is averaging 5.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 16.8 minutes across his last five appearances.
Apr 8, 2024
Questionable for Tuesday
Isaac (back) is questionable for Tuesday's game against Houston.
ANALYSIS
This comes from the official injury report, so fantasy managers won't gain much insight from this. Isaac continues to be day-to-day as he struggles with a back issue that forced him to leave Sunday's game against the Bulls early. If he's cleared, it's safe to expect some restrictions.
Apr 7, 2024
X-rays come back negative
Isaac (back) underwent an MRI after Sunday's win over the Bulls but the x-rays came back negative, Wendell Epps of Bally Sports Florida reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a positive development for Isaac, a player who has struggled with injuries throughout his career. The Magic will wait until Sunday to determine his status going forward, as Orlando's next game will come against the Rockets on Tuesday.
Apr 7, 2024
Won't return Sunday
Isaac won't return to Sunday's game against the Bulls due to a sore back.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has had injury issues throughout his career, and this is unfortunate for the young forward, as he had been playing well of late and only lasted five minutes in this one. Isaac's next chance to play will come against the Rockets on Tuesday.
Apr 6, 2024
Good to go against Chicago
Isaac (back) isn't on the injury report for Sunday's game versus the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Despite being available against Charlotte, Isaac didn't play in Friday's contest due to back spasms. However, there is no indication that the 26-year-old forward will sit out against Chicago.
Apr 5, 2024
Doesn't see the floor
Isaac (back spasms) didn't play in Friday's 124-115 loss to Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was added to the injury report roughly 30 minutes before tipoff, but he was deemed available. However, the Magic opted to err on the side of caution, and coach Jamahl Mosley said it's something the team will keep monitoring, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports. Isaac should be considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Bulls.
Mar 31, 2024
Good to go for Monday
Isaac is not listed on the injury report ahead of Monday's game against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac missed Saturday's game due to right hamstring injury management, but he will return to action after missing just one game. The 26-year-old pro is averaging 10.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 1.2 blocks and 1.0 assists in 17.4 minutes per game over his last five appearances.
Mar 30, 2024
Out against Grizzlies
Isaac will not play in Saturday's matchup with the Grizzlies due to right hamstring maintenance.
ANALYSIS
With Orlando playing the second night of a back-to-back set, the team will opt to err on the side of caution with Isaac. The defensive minded big man accumulated three points (1-3 FG, 1-3 3PT), five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks across 17 minutes in Friday's loss to the Clippers. His next chance to suit up will come Monday versus Portland.
Mar 24, 2024
Erupts for season-high 25 points
Isaac contributed 25 points (10-13 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 23 minutes during Saturday's 109-107 loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was a standout in the loss, leading the Magic with a season-high 25 points in 23 minutes. In fact, this was the first time Isaac has scored more than 20 points all season, highlighting just how unusual this performance was. He is at least in the discussion as a viable 12-team asset, although an unfavorable schedule makes it tough to hold him outside of deeper formats.
Mar 18, 2024
Not listed on injury report
Isaac (knee/rest) isn't listed on Orlando's injury report for Tuesday's game versus the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Isaac sat out Sunday versus the Raptors due to left knee injury maintenance, but he'll return to action Tuesday. Over his last four appearances, the oft-injured forward has averaged 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 18.8 minutes per game.
Mar 17, 2024
Won't play Sunday
Isaac won't play Sunday against the Raptors due to left knee injury maintenance, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac had appeared in four straight games, averaging 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 18.8 minutes during that stretch. However, he was a late addition to the injury report Sunday and will ultimately take the night off. Isaac should be ready for Tuesday's matchup versus Charlotte, barring a setback.
Mar 9, 2024
Productive in limited minutes
Isaac had 11 points (4-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 16 minutes during Friday's 98-74 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
The 26-year-old has missed three of the last five games due to an illness and load management on his knee, and he hasn't played more than 20 minutes in a game since Feb. 10. Isaac was able to make a multi-category contribution Friday despite his limited court time, but until the Magic are comfortable giving him a more consistent role in the rotation, he'll be tough to roster in most fantasy formats.
Mar 7, 2024
Off injury report
Isaac (injury management) isn't listed on the injury report for Friday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac sat out the closing end of the Magic's back-to-back set Wednesday for rest purposes and, as expected, will be good to go Friday. In his last 10 appearances, Isaac is averaging 6.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.0 blocks.
Mar 6, 2024
Will rest Wednesday
Isaac will be rested for Wednesday's game versus the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
The Magic are exercising caution with Isaac's left knee on the second leg of the back-to-back set. Gary Harris is also being held out for rest. With those two out, the Magic could look to Caleb Houstan to soak up some of those minutes.
Mar 5, 2024
Iffy against Charlotte
Isaac is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Hornets due to left knee injury maintenance.
ANALYSIS
Isaac and Gary Harris have both been deemed questionable Wednesday for precautionary reasons, as the Magic are on the second leg of a back-to-back. If Isaac is ruled out, Caleb Houstan will likely receive increased playing time.
Mar 2, 2024
Not listed on injury report
Isaac (illness) isn't listed on Orlando's injury report for Sunday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Isaac missed Tuesday's win over Brooklyn after landing awkwardly on his knee the game before, but he was on track to play Thursday versus Utah before succumbing to an illness. He practiced in full Saturday and should be good to go against Detroit. Before the knee injury, Isaac had played at least 15 minutes in six straight games, averaging 7.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 0.8 steals during that stretch.
Mar 2, 2024
Practices Saturday
Isaac (illness) participated in Saturday's practice, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was sidelined for the Magic's matchup with the Nets on Tuesday before missing Thursday's contest due to an illness. His participation in Saturday's practice indicates he is trending in the right direction for Orlando's next game versus the Pistons on Sunday. Still more clarity will come once the team releases its injury report.
Feb 29, 2024
Won't play Thursday
Isaac (illness) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Isaac missed Tuesday's game against the Nets due to a left knee strain, but he's now dealing with an illness that will keep him sidelined for a second consecutive matchup. Joe Ingles and Caleb Houstan could see increased run against Utah, especially if Paolo Banchero (illness) is unavailable.
Feb 28, 2024
Iffy for Thursday
Isaac is listed as questionable for Thursday's game versus the Jazz due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is in danger of missing his second straight contest Thursday. However, his diagnosis has switched from a left knee strain to an illness. Regardless, with Paolo Banchero (illness) also questionable, Joe Ingles and Caleb Houstan are candidates to receive increased playing time.
Feb 27, 2024
Won't play Tuesday
Isaac (knee) was present and active during Orlando's morning shootaround, but he said he won't play Tuesday versus the Nets, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac awkwardly fell during Sunday's game against Atlanta and was diagnosed with a left knee strain while an MRI on Monday came back clean. While he'll be sidelined Tuesday, the oft-injured forward said he doesn't expect his current knee injury to be a long-term issue. Isaac's next chance to suit up will come Thursday versus Utah.
Feb 26, 2024
Questionable for Tuesday
Isaac's MRI revealed no significant injuries in his left knee/leg Monday, and he's considered questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nets, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac exited Sunday's game against Atlanta due to a left knee strain, and both his X-rays and MRI have come back clean. It's not yet clear whether he'll be able to suit up Tuesday, but even if he's unavailable, it seems unlikely that he's facing a long-term absence.
Feb 25, 2024
Diagnosed with left knee strain
Isaac has been diagnosed with a left knee strain after exiting Sunday's game against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Isaac sustained his injury in the first quarter of Sunday's matchup, but he underwent X-rays that came back negative. He'll be re-evaluated when the Magic return to Orlando, and his status for Tuesday's game against the Nets is unclear.
Feb 25, 2024
Won't return Sunday
Isaac has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against Atlanta due to an apparent left leg injury, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac fell awkwardly in the first quarter of Sunday's matchup and grabbed his left leg afterward. While he was able to walk to the locker room under his own power, he'll be ineligible to return to the game since he was unable to take his free throws after sustaining his injury. Before departing, he was held scoreless (0-2 FT) with one rebound in two minutes. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available Tuesday against Brooklyn.
Feb 14, 2024
Operating on minutes restriction
Coach Jamahl Mosley said Isaac will limited to around 14-16 minutes during Wednesday's game versus the Knicks, Jake Chapman of the Magic Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has dealt with extensive injuries throughout his career, and the Magic will be cautious with him on the second night of a back-to-back Wednesday. Isaac is averaging 5.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 18.0 minutes across his last five outings.
Jan 31, 2024
Back to bench
Isaac won't start Wednesday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is cleared to suit up after playing just eight minutes Monday, but he'll revert to a bench role, as Markelle Fultz will reclaim his starting spot. Isaac has appeared in eight of Orlando's last nine games, averaging 5.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 15.1 minutes during that stretch.
Jan 30, 2024
Not on injury report
Isaac (undisclosed) is not on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Isaac played just eight minutes Monday before leaving the game for good for undisclosed reasons. Presumably, the Magic were just being cautious on the second leg of the back-to-back set given his injury history.
Jan 29, 2024
Won't return Monday
Isaac has been ruled out for the rest of Monday's game against Dallas due to an undisclosed injury, Wendell Epps of Bally Sports Florida reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac drew a rare start Monday, but his night will come to an end after collecting two points in eight minutes. The nature of his injury is unknown at this time.
Jan 29, 2024
Starting Monday
Isaac is in the starting lineup for Monday's game against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will make his first start since Jan.1 2020. He has been sharp defensively for Orlando this season, and joins Jalen Suggs, Fran Wagner, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter in the jumbo-lineup Monday.
Jan 29, 2024
Sees boosted minutes again
Isaac played 23 minutes and finished with nine points (3-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal in Sunday's 113-98 win over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
After playing no more than 17 minutes in 16 consecutive appearances from Nov. 19 through Jan. 22, Isaac has now cleared 20 minutes in two straight contests. Though the Magic are primarily deploying him as the primary backup to Paolo Banchero, Isaac has been able to pick up extra playing time at the other forward spot and as a backup center thanks to his ranginess and defensive versatility. Isaac should primarily be viewed as a streaming option for steals and blocks if he continues to see 20-plus minutes, but he could become more of a longer-term hold if he's able to pair the defensive production with increased usage on the offensive end. On an encouraging note, the Magic appear to be confident in the oft-injured Isaac's health; he's not on the injury report for Monday's game in Dallas and looks poised to be available for the second leg of the back-to-back set.
Jan 27, 2024
Logs season-high 22 minutes
Isaac finished with 10 points (4-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and five rebounds across 22 minutes during Friday's 107-106 loss to Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Isaac played a season-high 22 minutes in the loss, although his production was nowhere near as positive. Despite being relatively healthy this season, Isaac is not the fantasy player he once was. Outside the top 180 for the season, he can be ignored in all standard formats.
Jan 25, 2024
Good to go Friday
Isaac (hamstring) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game versus the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is good to go Friday after missing Orlando's previous contest due to a right hamstring injury. He is averaging 5.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 13.6 minutes across his last five appearances.
Jan 22, 2024
Will sit out Monday
Isaac will be rested for Monday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac wasn't on the initial injury report, but the Magic have decided to rest him for the second leg of this back-to-back set. This gives him a lot of extra rest until Orlando's next game on Friday versus the Grizzlies.
Jan 14, 2024
Hits six free throws in return
Isaac (hamstring) tallied six points (0-1 FG, 6-8 FT), five rebounds and one assist in 15 minutes in Saturday's 112-100 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Isaac lived at the charity stripe in his return from a 10-game absence due to a hamstring strain, leading the Magic in free-throw attempts despite playing the fewest minutes of any of Orlando's 10 rotation players. Even while Orlando was without five players due to injury Saturday, Isaac still had a muted role off the bench, and his outlook for earning more minutes is unlikely to improve anytime soon.
Jan 13, 2024
Set to return Saturday
Isaac (hamstring) isn't on the injury report for Saturday's game versus the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will return to action Saturday after missing the Magic's previous 10 games with a right hamstring strain. Isaac is averaging 6.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 14.2 minutes across his last five outings.
Jan 11, 2024
Another absence coming
Isaac (hamstring) won't play in Friday's game versus the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Isaac's absence streak will extend to 10 games Friday due to a right hamstring strain. His next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with the Thunder.
Jan 8, 2024
Ruled out Tuesday
Isaac (hamstring) will not play in Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will miss his ninth straight game due to injury. Expect Moritz Wagner, Chuma Okeke and Caleb Houstan to all see extended minutes while Isaac remains sidelined.
Jan 6, 2024
Out again
Isaac (hamstring) will remain sidelined for Sunday's contest against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac's absence will mark his eighth straight missed game due to a lingering hamstring issue. His next chance to return will come Tuesday against the Timberwolves.
Jan 4, 2024
Out again Friday
Isaac (hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will be unavailable for a seventh consecutive matchup while dealing with a right hamstring strain. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return, but his next chance to do so will be Sunday against Atlanta.
Jan 3, 2024
Missing another game
Isaac (hamstring) is listed as out for Wednesday's game against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
The right hamstring strain will keep Isaac on the sideline for a sixth straight game, and given his history as a slow healer, the 26-year-old forward seems likely to miss additional time beyond Wednesday. While he's been effective on a per-minute basis with averages of 6.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 0.9 steals in 13.6 minutes per contest this season, Isaac doesn't look as though he'll have a path to see his playing time ramp up in a major way, especially now that he has to overcome a lower-body injury.
Jan 1, 2024
Sitting vs. Golden State
Isaac (hamstring) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Warriors, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will miss another contest as a result of a right hamstring injury. His next chance to return will arrive Wednesday night against the Kings.
Dec 31, 2023
Won't be available Sunday
Isaac (hamstring) will not be available for Sunday's game against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will miss his third straight game for Orlando, but he remains day-to-day. The Magic have a back-to-back set coming up that begins on Tuesday against the Warriors, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to return in time for one of those.
Dec 30, 2023
Game-time call for Sunday
Isaac (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Suns, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has missed his squad's last two contests while recovering from a right hamstring injury. His availability will likely depend on how he fares in morning shootaround and pregame warmups.
Dec 29, 2023
Won't play Friday
Isaac (hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Knicks, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was deemed a game-time decision for Friday's matchup, but he'll be unable to suit up against New York. Joe Ingles (ankle) is also out Friday, so Chuma Okeke and Caleb Houstan should continue to see increased roles.
Dec 29, 2023
Considered game-time decision
Isaac (hamstring), who is officially questionable for Friday's matchup against the Knicks, is considered a game-time decision, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has missed the last two games due to right hamstring soreness, and the Magic want to see how he fares during his pregame shooting routine before determining his status against New York. If he's sidelined, Chuma Okeke and Caleb Houstan could continue to see additional minutes.
Dec 28, 2023
Iffy for Friday
Isaac (hamstring) is questionable for Friday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has missed the past two games due to a sore right hamstring, and it's unclear whether he'll be able to return to action Friday. If he sits out again, Chuma Okeke and Caleb Houstan could continue to see an uptick in playing time.
Dec 27, 2023
Ruled out Wednesday
Isaac (hamstring) won't play in Wednesday's game versus the 76ers, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will miss his second straight game Wednesday after being downgraded from questionable to out with right hamstring soreness. Chuma Okeke and Caleb Houstan are candidates to receive increased minutes. Isaac's next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with the Knicks.
Dec 26, 2023
Listed as questionable
Isaac (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was held out of Tuesday's game against Washington for the front end of the back-to-back set, but it's not a lock that he'll take the floor against the 76ers. Joe Ingles (ankle) and Gary Harris (calf) are also carrying questionable tags, meaning we could see Caleb Houstan get a larger opportunity with the second unit.
Dec 26, 2023
Out Tuesday
Isaac will miss Tuesday's game against Washington due to a sore right hamstring.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was a ruled out Tuesday morning despite not carrying an injury designation into the day. With Orlando closing a back-to-back set Wednesday against Philadelphia, Isaac's absence Tuesday could be maintenance related. Caleb Houstan and potentially Goga Bitadze could see an uptick in frontcourt minutes.
Dec 11, 2023
Available Monday
Isaac (ankle) is available for Monday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was unable to suit up for the last two games due to his ankle injury, but he's been given the green light to play after he was apparently able to practice over the weekend. However, he was also available against the Nets on Dec. 2 after tweaking his ankle a day earlier but didn't take the court, so it's unclear if the Magic will reincorporate him into the rotation Monday.
Dec 10, 2023
Listed as questionable
Isaac (ankle) is questionable for Monday's game against Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was deemed available for a contest against the Nets on Dec. 2 after tweaking his ankle a day earlier. However, he never saw any playing time during that matchup and was ruled out for Orlando's next two contests. Isaac has a chance to return Monday, but the Magic will presumably be cautious with the oft-injured forward.
Dec 8, 2023
Ruled out for Friday
Isaac (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Isaac continues to deal with a sprained right ankle and will be sidelined for a second consecutive game. Caleb Houstan will likely continue to see increased minutes off the bench Friday.
Dec 7, 2023
Iffy for Friday
Isaac (ankle) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Isaac also received a questionable tag Wednesday before being ruled out with a right ankle sprain. If Isaac is ruled out again, Caleb Houstan and Joe Ingles are candidates to receive increased minutes.
Dec 6, 2023
Ruled out for Wednesday
Isaac (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has dealt with an ankle injury over the past few days and won't be able to suit up against Cleveland. Joe Ingles could see a slight uptick in minutes during Wednesday's matchup, while Isaac's next chance to return will be Friday against Detroit.
Dec 5, 2023
Questionable for Wednesday
Isaac is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers due to a right ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
This is the same ankle injury that has lingered for several days. Despite being available for Saturday's game against the Nets, Isaac never took the floor with the Magic opting to be cautious. We'll likely see Joe Ingles get a small bump in playing time if Isaac sits.
Dec 2, 2023
Available to play
Isaac (ankle) is available for Saturday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Isaac left Friday's game early in the second quarter after tweaking his ankle, but it's a great sign that he's able to give it a go on the second leg of this back-to-back set. He's likely to play limited minutes off the bench.
Dec 2, 2023
Considered questionable
Isaac (ankle) has Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com ahead of Saturday's contest in Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Isaac exited Friday's game in the second quarter after tweaking the ankle that had kept him out of the two previous games. His status Saturday will presumably depend on how that same ankle is feeling during warmups. Joe Ingles and Moritz Wagner would be candidates to see increased depth minutes at forward should Isaac be unable to play through the injury.
Dec 1, 2023
Done for night with ankle sprain
Isaac left Friday's game against the Wizards with a sprained right ankle and will not return, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. He ended with three points, five rebounds and one block across seven minutes.
ANALYSIS
Isaac had missed the previous two games because of the same ankle, so it's unfortunate that he aggravated it once again. He should be considered questionable for Saturday's game against the Nets. If he's unable to play, we could see more of Joe Ingles and Moritz Wagner.
Dec 1, 2023
Good to go
Isaac (ankle) is available for Wednesday's game against Washington.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has been upgraded from questionable to available and will suit up following a two-game absence due to a right ankle sprain. His return will likely mean decreased roles for Joe Ingles and Moritz Wagner, but Isaac isn't expected to play more than 20 minutes.
Nov 30, 2023
Iffy for Friday
Isaac (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game against Washington.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has missed the last two games due to left ankle soreness, but he was considered a game-time decision for Wednesday's matchup against the Wizards. It wouldn't be surprising to see Orlando monitor him again in the hours leading up to Friday's rematch, but Joe Ingles and Moritz Wagner could see increased roles if Isaac remains out.
Nov 29, 2023
Won't play Wednesday
Isaac (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will miss a second straight game due to a sore left ankle. His next chance to suit up will come Friday in a rematch versus Washington, though Orlando figures to be cautious with the oft-injured forward. In Isaac's absence, Joe Ingles and Moritz Wagner are candidates for slightly increased roles.
Nov 29, 2023
Considered game-time decision
Isaac (ankle) is considered a game-time decision for Wednesday's matchup against Washington, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was labeled as questionable on Orlando's initial injury report, and the team will wait to see how he fares leading up to tipoff before determining his status. He was a late scratch for Sunday's game against the Hornets, while Joe Ingles and Moritz Wagner are candidates to see slightly larger roles if Isaac is unavailable once again.
Nov 28, 2023
Listed as questionable

Nov 26, 2023
Late scratch Sunday
Isaac has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Hornets due to a sore left ankle.
ANALYSIS
Isaac wasn't on Orlando's initial injury report, but he was scratched minutes before tipoff due to his ankle injury. Paolo Banchero and Joe Ingles could see increased run against Charlotte.
Nov 21, 2023
Limited in blowout victory
Isaac finished Tuesday's 126-107 win over the Raptors with nine points (4-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 12 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Isaac logged only 12 minutes in the victory but still managed to rack up three defensive stats. While his role is still underwhelming from a fantasy perspective, he does appear healthy and had it not been for the lopsided scorelines, his playing time could have been closer to 20 minutes. He remains somewhat of an unknown but given the per-minute upside, he isn't out of place on a 12-team roster.
Nov 16, 2023
Four defensive stats Wednesday
Isaac amassed four points (1-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals across 17 minutes during Wednesday's 96-94 win over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Isaac continues to play limited minutes off the bench despite the fact Orlando is dealing with a number of injuries. He has yet to see more than 17 minutes in any game, capping what he is able to do from a fantasy perspective. With that said, he has managed to accumulate 20 combined steals and blocks across his nine games. With no indication his playing time will increase, he should simply be viewed as a possible defensive streaming candidate.

Set to play against Atlanta
Isaac (hamstring) is available for Thursday's game versus the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has been upgraded from probable to available Thursday after missing Orlando's last contest due to left hamstring soreness. Isaac will likely be one of the Magic's primary options off the bench at the forward position.
Nov 8, 2023
Expected to play Thursday
Isaac (hamstring) is probable for Thursday's game versus the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is expected to return to action Thursday after missing the previous game with left hamstring soreness. The 26-year-old forward is averaging 3.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 11.2 minutes across five appearances so far this season.
Nov 6, 2023
Won't play Monday
Isaac (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was considered a game-time decision for Monday's matchup due to his hamstring issue, and he'll be unable to suit up against Dallas. His next opportunity to play will be Thursday against Atlanta, but it's not yet clear whether he'll be available for that game.
Nov 6, 2023
Questionable for Monday
Isaac (sore hamstring) is questionable for Monday's game against the Mavericks, according to Dan Savage of the Magic's official site.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is expected to warm up and will be a game-time call. Considering how cautious the Magic have been with Isaac, it wouldn't be surprising to see him be held out. If he's unable to play, we could see more of Joe Ingles.
Nov 1, 2023
Set to play Thursday
Isaac (rest) isn't on the injury report for Thursday's game versus the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is good to go Thursday after missing Tuesday's contest for rest purposes. The 26-year-old forward is averaging 4.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 11.0 minutes across his first three appearances this season.
Oct 31, 2023
Resting Tuesday
Isaac (rest) will not play in Tuesday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will rest after appearing in Orlando's first three games. He's a candidate to return for Thursday's game against Utah, but the 26-year-old isn't on fantasy radar.
Oct 31, 2023
Quiet night in 11 minutes
Isaac accumulated three points (1-3 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds and one steal across 11 minutes during Monday's 106-103 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac saw limited action off the bench, which has been the case through all three of the Magic's games to begin the regular season. The Florida State product looked to be turning into one of the better defensive players in the NBA early in his career, but a series of leg injuries have significantly impacted his trajectory. Isaac missed the entirety of the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons before appearing in only 11 games a year ago. Managers in deeper formats may want to keep an eye on Isaac's workload over the next few weeks, but it's looking increasingly likely that the injuries will prevent him from ever reaching the potential he displayed coming out of college.
Oct 2, 2023
Ready for training camp
Isaac is fully healthy entering training camp, according to Orlando Magic Daily.
ANALYSIS
Isaac played in just 11 games last season after missing two straight campaigns with a major knee injury. The Magic are going to exercise caution given his history, but his elite defense will give him a shot at earning a role on this team once he gets his legs under him.
Apr 10, 2023
Expects to be ready for next year
Isaac (thigh) expects to be ready for the start of the 2023-24 campaign, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac missed the start of the 2022-23 season while recovering from a torn ACL, and he underwent season-ending surgery in early March to repair a torn left adductor muscle. While he was unavailable for the final month of the season, he said Monday that he expects to be "full go" for basketball activities in a few weeks.
Mar 3, 2023
Undergoes season-ending surgery
Isaac (hamstring) underwent season-ending surgery Friday to repair a torn left adductor muscle, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The torn adductor was revealed after an MRI on Wednesday, though Isaac had been listed out due to a hamstring injury. This is a tough blow for Isaac, who returned this season to play 11 games following a two-year absence due to a torn ACL. A timetable for his recovery may be revealed by the team in the coming days, though we know he's at least out for the year. Isaac's absence could lead to more minutes for Bol Bol.
Mar 2, 2023
Still out against Charlotte
Isaac (hamstring) won't play in Friday's game versus the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Isaac's absence streak will extend to four games Friday due to a right hamstring strain. The 25-year-old forward has only been able to suit up for 11 games so far this season. Isaac's next opportunity to play is Sunday's contest against Portland.
Mar 1, 2023
Won't play against Milwaukee
Isaac (hamstring) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game versus the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will miss his third straight game Wednesday due to a right hamstring strain. His next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with Charlotte.
Feb 28, 2023
Listed as questionable
Isaac (hamstring) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has missed back-to-back games due to a right hamstring strain and is in danger of missing a third. The oft-injured forward has been under a strict 15-minute restriction since returning from a two-and-a-half-year hiatus due to multiple injuries, so he hasn't been able to make a major fantasy impact anyways.
Feb 26, 2023
Out with hamstring strain
Isaac won't play Monday due to a right hamstring strain, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac returned to action at the end of January following a two and a half year hiatus due to injuries and appeared in 11 of 14 contests, with his only absences coming during one half a back-to-back set. The 2017 first-round pick was held out of Saturday's loss to Indiana, marking his first absence that wasn't part of a back-to-back, due to what was initially thought to be rest purposes, but Isaac is now being listed with a hamstring strain. This is certainly a concerning development for the oft-injured forward, and while the severity of the issue remains unclear, Orlando is expected to be extremely cautious with him moving forward.
Feb 25, 2023
Resting Saturday
Isaac will not play Saturday against the Pacers due to left knee injury management.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is coming off his best performance of the season, posting 10 points, seven boards, two steals, one block and one assist in 16 minutes against the Pistons. He'll likely continue getting rest days throughout the season, but fantasy managers in deep formats who need defensive stats can consider adding the forward. The Florida State product has at least one defensive stat in every game this season, averaging 1.3 steals and 0.4 blocks in 11.3 minutes.
Feb 22, 2023
Available Thursday
Isaac (knee) is available for Thursday's matchup against the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Isaac sat out the Magic's final game before the break, which was the second half of a back-to-back. He's yet to play more than 14 minutes in a game, but the forward appeared in six straight before his Valentine's Day absence, averaging 3.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 11.8 minutes.
Feb 14, 2023
Sitting out Tuesday
Isaac will sit out Tuesday's game against the Raptors due to left knee injury management, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac wasn't included on Orlando's initial injury report for Tuesday, but he'll end up sitting out the second leg of the back-to-back set after all, as was the case the Magic previously encountered a back-to-back set Jan. 27 and 28 shortly after the forward made his season debut. Look for head coach Jamahl Mosley to turn to either Chuma Okeke or Caleb Houstan to fill Isaac's spot in the rotation as a backup forward.
Feb 14, 2023
Appears set to play Tuesday
Isaac isn't listed on the Magic's injury report for Tuesday's game against the Raptors and appears on track to play.
ANALYSIS
If Isaac suits up, it would mark the first time he's played both legs of a back-to-back set since he returned to the court in late January following a nearly two-and-a-half-year layoff from NBA action. The Magic haven't made a major effort to have Isaac ramp up in his three weeks since making his season debut, as he's played between eight and 14 minutes in all of his 10 appearances to date. Expect his minutes to fall in that range once again Tuesday.
Feb 14, 2023
Fails to score in 13 minutes
Isaac finished with zero points (0-4 FG), four rebounds and one steal across 13 minutes during Monday's 100-91 victory over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Isaac remained on a firm minute restriction Monday, capping his overall value even before hitting the hardwood. Outside of a few defensive flashes, Isaac has been mediocre since returning, much to the disappointment of anyone who chanced their arm by picking him up. The Magic have no reason to rush him back, so despite his upside, it feels unlikely he will be putting up anything close to standard league value, at least not for the foreseeable future.
Feb 3, 2023
Not on injury report
Isaac (knee) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game against Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Isaac sat out Wednesday against Philadelphia due to left knee injury management, but he'll be back in action Friday. He's been on a minutes limit over his four appearances since returning to action, averaging 5.5 points and 2.8 rebounds in 9.3 minutes per game.
Feb 1, 2023
Out Wednesday
Isaac (knee) is out for Wednesday's game against the 76ers, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will take Wednesday's game off to rest his knee after appearing in two straight games. He hasn't seen more than 10 minutes in any game this season, so his absence from the rotation won't make a huge impact. However, Bol Bol could see more action.
Feb 1, 2023
Questionable Wednesday
Isaac is questionable for Wednesday's game against the 76ers due to left knee injury management.
ANALYSIS
Isaac made his season debut Jan. 23 but hasn't played more than 10 minutes in any of his appearances, averaging 5.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 9.3 minutes per game. If he's sidelined Wednesday, Bol Bol could see a slight uptick in playing time.
Jan 28, 2023
Low minutes continue
Isaac had five points (2-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt), four rebounds and one steal in nine minutes during Saturday's 128-109 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has yet to see 10 minutes of action in any of his three games since returning from his multi-year knee injury, and that might continue for a while this season. Even in that minimal playing time he's still averaging a decent 1.7 steals per game so far. Considering that the 25-year-old is also continuing to rest games, his potential value for next season is likely the bigger focus than his value for this season.
Jan 28, 2023
Available Saturday
Isaac (knee) is available for Saturday's game against the Bulls, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Although Isaac will be available, expect to him to remain on a pretty strict minutes limit. He was on an 8-to-10 limit in the team's previous game and will presumably see something similar Saturday.
Jan 27, 2023
Unavailable Friday
Isaac has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Heat due to left knee injury management.
ANALYSIS
The Magic have been incredibly cautious with Isaac's workload following his lengthy absence, as he's averaged just 9.0 minutes per game over his two appearances since his season debut. He'll be held out in the first game of a back-to-back set, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him return for Saturday's matchup against Chicago.
Jan 25, 2023
Remains on limit of 8-10 minutes
Isaac will remain on a limit of 8-10 minutes for Wednesday's matchup against the Pacers, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac made his long-awaited return during Monday's win over the Celtics, where he posted 10 points, three rebounds, two steals and one assist in 10 minutes. The Magic will remain cautious and keep him around 8-10 minutes for the time being.
Jan 24, 2023
Makes long-awaited return
Isaac ended Monday's 113-98 victory over the Celtics with 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and two steals across 10 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Seeing his first game action since Aug. 2, 2020, Isaac was surprisingly efficient in his limited court time. The 25-year-old has had a long road back from serious knee trouble, but the Magic's patience with him might just be rewarded. Don't expect Isaac's workload to increase very quickly, but his potential to make an impact in multiple categories once he gets back up to full speed makes him worth stashing if you have a bench spot to churn.
Jan 23, 2023
Limited to 8-10 minutes
Isaac (knee) will play 8-10 minutes in Monday's game against the Celtics, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was expected to be under a heavy minutes restriction in his first NBA action in over two years and coach Jahmal Mosley shared that the cap is set at 8-10 minutes. Although fantasy managers who have had Isaac stashed since the beginning of the season may be eager to thrust him into their lineups, his minutes limit should keep him on the bench for Monday's tilt.
Jan 23, 2023
Officially available
Isaac (knee) will be active for Monday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will touch the NBA court for the first time since Aug. 2, 2020 after rehabbing from ACL and hamstring surgeries. He made three appearances in the G League prior to his activation, logging 15.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 blocks over 17.7 minutes but played no more than 22 minutes in a contest. He will likely be on a similar minutes limit for Monday's tilt and should have his restrictions lifted marginally over the course of the next several games. Considering the frontcourt talent Orlando has added since Isaac last played, it's unclear how large of a role the former lottery pick will claim. Fantasy managers should not expect Isaac to repeat his 2019 averages of 11.9 points (47 percent shooting), 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 2.3 blocks but his defensive skillset should keep Isaac a valuable player in category formats.
Jan 22, 2023
Likely to play Monday
Isaac (knee, conditioning) is expected to be listed as questionable for Monday's matchup against the Celtics, but he'll likely be available for the contest, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac, who's working his way back from ACL and hamstring surgery, hasn't made an NBA appearance since Aug. 2, 2020, so his potential return to action would be a significant storyline across the NBA. The 2017 first-round pick has recently been working to improve his conditioning in the G League, but if he does suit up Monday, he'll almost certainly face a strict minutes limit and likely won't handle a major workload for a while. Either way, his impending return is still a significant boost to the Magic organization and an overall positive story for the league.
Jan 21, 2023
Still out Saturday
Isaac (knee, conditioning) remains out Saturday at Washington.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is seemingly nearing a return, though he still needs to improve his conditioning. His next chance to play arrives Monday against the Celtics.
Jan 20, 2023
Recalled, inactive Friday
Isaac (knee) has been recalled from the G League's Lakeland Magic but will be inactive for Friday's game against the Pelicans due to return to competition reconditioning.
ANALYSIS
Isaac hasn't made an NBA appearance since August of 2020 due to a torn ACL and a subsequent hamstring issue that also required surgery, but he spent the last week and a half in the G League. Over three appearances with Lakeland, he averaged 15.7 points and 6.7 rebounds in 17.7 minutes per game. While he'll be unavailable for Friday's matchup against New Orleans, his return to the parent club suggests that his return to action for Orlando is imminent. Once he's given the green light to make his season debut, he'll almost certainly face a minutes restriction, a trend that could continue throughout the season given the length of his absence.
Jan 16, 2023
Set for another G League appearance
Isaac (knee) will remain with the G League's Lakeland Magic and is expected to make his third appearance for the affiliate Thursday against the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
ANALYSIS
Isaac reported to Lakeland last week and made appearances Wednesday and Saturday in what marked his first game action since Aug. 2, 2020. The forward averaged 14.5 points (on 42.3 percent shooting from the field), 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 0.5 assists in 16.0 minutes per game between the two outings, and he could see a similar allotment of playing time when he makes his third appearance for the affiliate Thursday. Since Orlando doesn't play again until Friday against the Pelicans, Isaac is unlikely to suit up for that contest, as the organization presumably wouldn't be keen on having him play consecutive days. However, he could be in option to join the NBA team in Washington on Saturday for the second half of Orlando's back-to-back set. Whenever he's cleared to debut with the parent club, Isaac will likely be on a strict minutes restriction initially, and perhaps for the remainder of the season.
Jan 15, 2023
Not available Sunday
Isaac (knee) remains on assignment with the G League's Lakeland Magic and won't be available Sunday for Orlando's game in Denver.
ANALYSIS
Lakeland won't play again until Tuesday, but Isaac may rejoin the parent club before then in preparation for making his first NBA appearance since Aug. 2, 2020 in Orlando's home game Friday versus the Pelicans. The 25-year-old forward saw his first competitive action in nearly 900 days during appearances with Lakeland this past Wednesday and Saturday. Between wins over the Westchester Knicks and Greensboro Swarm, Isaac played 15 and 17 minutes and averaged 14.5 points (on 42.3 percent shooting from the field), 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 0.5 assists. He could handle a similar 15-to-20-minute role once he rejoins the Orlando Magic, who could have significant playing-time restrictions in place for Isaac the rest of the season due to his injury history.
Jan 13, 2023
Efficient in limited minutes
Isaac recorded 15 points (6-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block across 15 minutes during Wednesday's 129-117 win over the G League Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Isaac, who was assigned to the G League on Wednesday, posted 15 points in just as many minutes during Lakeland's win over Westchester. The 25-year-old's return to the floor in any capacity is an encouraging sign considering how he's missed nearly the last two-and-a-half seasons while recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee as well as another procedure to address a hamstring injury. Isaac is expected to suit up for Friday's game versus the Swarm and then potentially return to Orlando.
Jan 10, 2023
Playing G League game Wednesday
Isaac (knee) will play a game for the G League Lakeland Magic on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has missed nearly two and half seasons due to a severe left knee injury. The Magic have remained relatively quiet regarding his rehab status throughout the process. Playing in a competitive game is obviously a massive step in the right direction, so Issac may be making his NBA return sooner than later. Once available, Isaac should play a reserve role, though it's unclear exactly where he fits in the rotation. The last time we saw him -- 34 games in 2019-20 -- he averaged 11.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.6 steals and 1.4 assists in 28.8 minutes.
Jan 10, 2023
Still sidelined Tuesday
Isaac (knee) remains out for Tuesday's game against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Jamahl Mosley said on Jan. 2 that Isaac has resumed participating fully in practices, but because he hasn't played in an NBA game since Aug. 2, 2020, the sixth-year forward may need an extended ramp-up period. Though he was a must-roster fantasy player when he was healthy during the 2019-20 season, Isaac's lengthy layoff means that he'll likely be subject to significant minute restrictions when he ultimately returns, making it difficult to envision him getting a large enough role to be a useful contributor outside of deeper leagues.
Jan 8, 2023
Ruled out for Monday
Isaac (knee) is listed as out for Monday's game in Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Though head coach Jamahl Mosley confirmed last week that Isaac has resumed participating fully in practice, the Magic aren't yet offering up a timeline for when the 25-year-old might see his first game action since the 2019-20 season. It's not entirely clear if Isaac joined the Magic on its ongoing five-game road trip that began Saturday at Golden State, making the forward's status murky for the team's remaining three contests during the upcoming week. Given his lengthy layoff from competition, Isaac will likely have extensive playing-time restrictions whenever he's cleared to make his season debut.
Jan 2, 2023
Full go at practice Monday
Head coach Jamahl Mosley said Isaac (knee) was full go at practice Monday, but there still isn't a timetable for the forward's return to game action, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mosley added that the team will wait to see how Isaac responds to practice before setting a timetable for a potential season debut. Isaac continues to take the necessary steps toward returning to game action, but fantasy managers shouldn't hold their breath. Seeing as the 2017 first-round pick hasn't played in an NBA regular season game since 2019, he'll presumably need plenty of time to knock off the rust before he's thrust into an expanded role.
Dec 13, 2022
Practices, still no timetable
Isaac (knee) took part in practice Tuesday as part of his rehab process but remains without a timetable for his return to action, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac's appearance at practice is another step in his recovery, but he remains without a precise date for his eventual return to the floor. He's already been ruled out for Wednesday's game, but an upgrade on the injury report before a future game should signal he's drawing closer.
Dec 6, 2022
Takes next step in rehab
Orlando assigned Isaac (knee) to the G League's Lakeland Magic on Tuesday, Dan Savage of NBA.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac hasn't played in an NBA game since tearing his ACL during the NBA bubble in 2020. He was initially expected to be back some time during the 2021-22 campaign, but a hamstring injury that required surgery derailed his rehab process. The No. 6 overall pick in the 2017 Draft has been playing 5-on-5 over the last month and appears close to returning to game action. Isaac figures to get extended practice time in with the G League squad, but it's unclear if he'll suit up for any of Lakeland's games during his assignment.
Nov 7, 2022
Plans to play in 'next few weeks'
Isaac (knee) said Monday that he feels closer than he's ever been to returning to game action since his last NBA appearance Aug. 2, 2020, but he'll still need to use "the next few weeks" to get back into playing shape and integrate himself with the team, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports. "I've been playing [5-on-5] the last few weeks and just getting in shape," Isaac said. "I'm still getting there. But in terms of body, knees and hamstrings, everything is great. I'm just not in game shape."
ANALYSIS
Isaac was first sidelined on account of the torn ACL he sustained while playing at the NBA bubble in Orlando, and he later underwent surgery on his left knee to address that injury as well as damage to his meniscus. After sitting out the entire 2020-21 season, Isaac was expected to return to the court at some point in 2021-22, only to suffer an injury to his right hamstring during the rehab process and requiring another procedure back in March. Updates since that hamstring procedure have been few and far between, and at this stage, the Magic no longer appear to be viewing the 2017 lottery pick as a core piece in their rebuilding effort. The fact that he's advanced to 5-on-5 work is at least a positive step for Isaac, but because of his lengthy layoff, he sounds like he'll still need at least a few more weeks to regain enough conditioning just to be available to play brief spurts off the bench for the Magic. Even though Isaac has shown in the past that he's a game-changing defender when healthy, his uncertain
Oct 20, 2022
Remains out indefinitely
Isaac (hamstring) is out Friday at Atlanta and remains sidelined indefinitely.
ANALYSIS
Isaac is still limited in practice, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to return soon. He won't be close to playing in a game until he gets some full practice in, and it's not clear when that will happen. It would be surprising if he returned this month.
Oct 18, 2022
Won't play Wednesday
Isaac (hamstring) won't play in Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Pistons, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac dealt with a lingering hamstring injury throughout training camp that limited him during practices and sidelined him for all of Orlando's preseason matchups. While the extent of the injury remains unclear, the Magic will likely be extremely cautious with Isaac, who hasn't played in a regular season contest since the 2019-20 campaign.
Oct 15, 2022
Unable to suit up Friday
Isaac (hamstring) remained sidelined for Friday's preseason finale versus the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was limited during camp but never took part in preseason action. It will be worth keeping an eye on his status as the regular-season opener draws closer Wednesday against the Pistons.
Oct 11, 2022
Not suiting up Tuesday
Isaac (hamstring) remains sidelined for Tuesday's preseason game against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Issa's hamstring issue has plagued him throughout training camp and the preseason and it's unclear at this point when he will be ready to retake the floor. He has just one more opportunity to do so before the regular season arrives Oct. 19 against the Pistons.
Sep 26, 2022
Limited to individual work for now
Magic President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman said Monday that Isaac (hamstring) won't participate in full team practices at the start of training camp, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
While Isaac continues to progress in his recovery following hamstring surgery, he is still working through the individual phase of his rehabilitation and remains without a timetable as far as when he'll be able to rejoin team practices. The Magic seem optimistic that Isaac will be available at some point during the 2022-23 campaign, but for the time being, he'll continue his individual work on the side when the team opens camp this week. Orlando will face Detroit in its regular-season opener Oct. 19.

Optimism about camp availability
Magic President of Basketball Operations, Jeff Weltman, intimated that the organization is optimistic Isaac (hamstring) will be back for camp, though the forward officially remains without a timetable, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
An ACL tear and a subsequent hamstring issue requiring surgery have kept Isaac off the court since January of 2020. According to Weltman, the team's focus is on getting Isaac back to where he was before the surgery. The now-24-year-old was impressive during his 34 appearances in 2019-20, as he averaged 11.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.6 steals and 1.4 assists in 28.8 minutes. When he finally steps back on the court, it seems likely he'll come off the bench behind Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero.

Undergoes hamstring procedure
Orlando announced Tuesday that Isaac underwent a small surgical procedure to address a right hamstring injury suffered while he was rehabbing from the torn ACL and meniscus in his left knee, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman said that the team remains optimistic that Isaac will be ready to go for the start of the 2022-23 season, but those invested in the forward in dynasty leagues will still want to keep a close eye on his progress during the offseason. Orlando didn't disclose when exactly Isaac underwent the hamstring procedure, so it's possible that he suffered the setback at some point weeks or even months earlier in his rehab program. Regardless, the hamstring issue likely explains why the Magic recently ruled Isaac out for the rest of the 2021-22 season, despite the fact that he originally tore his ACL in August 2020 at the NBA bubble in Orlando. Even if Isaac enters training camp with a clean bill of health, fantasy managers may want to scale back expectations in terms of both his games and minutes played during the upcoming season, given that he'll be more than two years removed from his last NBA action.
Mar 15, 2022
Ruled out for rest of season
Isaac (knee) will remain out for the remainder of the 2021-22 season. "First and foremost, the care of our players will always be our top priority," said Magic President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman. "We have to remember that Jonathan (Isaac) has missed essentially two years. While it continues to be a day-to-day process for him as he continues to strengthen and condition all aspects of his body, we feel we have reached a point where it would be prudent to say that he will not play this season. Qui
ANALYSIS
Given that the season ends in three-and-a-half weeks, this announcement shouldn't come as much of a surprise. The Magic have provided very few updates on Isaac's status since he initially torn the ACL in his left knee all the way back in August of 2020 in the NBA bubble. But with nothing to play for in 2021-22, there's no reason for the team to push Isaac back into game action before he's 100 percent ready. Barring any setbacks over the next several months, Isaac should be back in full capacity to begin the 2022-23 season. By the time he takes the floor, it will be well over two full calendar years since his last NBA appearance.
Mar 1, 2022
Status remains murky
General manager John Hammond made no assurances Tuesday that Isaac (knee) would play this season, Michael Tozzi of 96.9 The Game Orlando reports. "No expectation either way," Hammond said, regarding if or when Isaac will play. "We're trying to keep Jonathan ready physically, keeping Jonathan ready mentally. He's committed to the medical staff and they're committed to him."
ANALYSIS
Reports about where exactly Isaac stands in his recovery from the torn ACL he sustained in his left knee in August 2020 have been scarce all season, and Hammond's vague comments about the situation don't inspire much confidence that the 24-year-old's return to game action is imminent. Though teammate Markelle Fultz made his 2021-22 debut Monday following a 14-month recovery from a torn ACL, Isaac is now approaching the 19th month of his rehab program and has yet to resume full-contact practicing, at least based on the information made available by the Magic brass. With the fantasy playoffs approaching or underway in some leagues, Isaac's murky return timeline makes it tough for managers to justify holding him in any redraft format.

Still out indefinitely
Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley recently said that Isaac (knee) remains limited to non-contact basketball drills and is without a clear timeline for making his season debut, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has had an unusually long recovery period from the torn ACL in his left knee that he suffered while playing at the NBA bubble in Orlando in August 2020. His rehab program will reach 18 months at the end of next week, and since he has yet to resume taking contact at this point, Isaac doesn't look like a safe bet to make his season debut until the second half of March, if at all. Since he'll almost certainly face a significant minutes restriction if and when he does return, Isaac probably isn't worthy of stashing in redraft leagues at this stage of the season.

Remains without clear timeline
Isaac is continuing to rehab his surgically repaired left knee, but the Magic haven't yet revealed a timeline for the 24-year-old to resume playing, Adam Shadoff of Fox 35 Orlando reports.
ANALYSIS
Even though Isaac underwent surgery to repair his torn ACL in early August of 2020, he's on track to take longer to make his return to the Magic lineup than Markelle Fultz, who suffered the same injury last January. Fultz's timeline is similarly unclear, but he's at least been able to resume practicing in the G League, while Isaac is believed to be limited to non-contact on-court work more than 17 months after suffering his injury. Given his uncertain timeline along with the fact he'll almost certainly face some sort of restriction with his minutes if and when he does return, Isaac is tough to justify holding in shallower leagues with limited injured reserve slots.

Further behind Fultz in recovery
Magic president Jeff Weltman said Friday that Isaac is making "great, steady progress," but the forward isn't yet at the point in his rehab program where he's been cleared to take contact in on-court drills, J. Michael of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Isaac underwent surgery Aug. 7, 2020 to address a torn ACL in his left knee, he's seemingly further behind in his recovery from the same knee procedure that teammate Markelle Fultz underwent Jan. 20, 2021. Weltman noted that Fultz, who was spotted taking part in 2-on-2 drills Friday, has been cleared to take contact and will resume practicing in the G League, but Isaac lags further behind the pace with his rehab program. At this point, the Magic haven't provided any sort of timeline for the 24-year-old to make his season debut, and more clarity on that front likely won't come until Isaac is cleared for 5-on-5 scrimmaging in practice. Since Fultz is probably still multiple weeks away from making his own 2021-22 debut, Isaac's absence is looking more and more likely to stretch into the 2022 portion of the Magic's schedule.

Without firm return timetable
Isaac (knee) is without a timetable to return to game action, David Aldridge of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has dealt with a litany of injuries to begin his NBA career -- most recently, a torn ACL suffered in the Orlando bubble back in August of 2020. The injury kept him out of the entire 2020-21 season, but the plan is for the 23-year-old to work his way back into the mix at some point in 2021-22. To begin training camp, Isaac will not participate in any full-court or full-contact work, but Aldridge notes that "it's possible" he could be cleared to take part in some drills. Firmly entrenched in a multi-year rebuild, the Magic have no reason to rush Isaac back, so he could prove to be a frustrating player for fantasy managers who choose to stash him in an IR spot to begin the season.
Jul 22, 2021
Resumes on-court work
Isaac (knee) has resumed on-court activities but remains without a concrete timetable for a return, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It's been almost a full year since Isaac tore his ACL and meniscus in his left knee. It's not his first significant injury, as Isaac has appeared in only 136 of the Magic's 309 regular-season games since he was drafted sixth overall in 2017. However, the Magic were still comfortable enough to ink him to an $80 million extension late last year, and he'll presumably be one of the faces of the franchise moving forward.
Dec 21, 2020
Reaches $80 million extension
Isaac (knee) signed a four-year, $80 million extension with the Magic on Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old has already been ruled out for the 2020-21 campaign after undergoing ACL surgery in early August, but Orlando still opted to lock him up ahead of Monday's rookie extension deadline. Isaac played excellent defense and averaged 11.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.3 blocks over 28.8 minutes in 34 games last season, but he's played only 136 games over his first three seasons in the league.
Aug 31, 2020
To miss all of 2020-21 season
Isaac (knee) will remain out for the entirety of the 2020-21 season, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Magic president Jeff Weltman confirmed Monday that the team does not anticipate Isaac playing at all next season after the forward suffered another significant knee injury during seeding play. Isaac will, of course, face a lengthy recovery, but the team ruling him out for an entire forthcoming season is a major decision, especially given the uncertainty surrounding the league's future schedule. Through his first three years in the league, Isaac -- one of the league's best defenders, when healthy -- has played 27, 75 and 34 games, respectively.
Aug 7, 2020
Undergoes successful surgery
Isaac (knee) underwent successful surgery Friday to repair the torn ACL and meniscus in his left knee, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was diagnosed with a torn ACL following Sunday's win over the Kings, but it turns out he also had a torn meniscus. Isaac will now focus on recovery and rehab with the hopes of returning sometime next spring or summer. It remains to be seen when the 2020-21 NBA season will take place, so it's unclear if Isaac will be able to return during the campaign. While he's sidelined, at least for this season, Terrence Ross and Wes Iwundu should see increased roles.
Aug 3, 2020
MRI confirms torn left ACL
Isaac sustained a torn left ACL during Sunday's game against Sacramento, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a devastating blow for the Magic and Isaac, who missed 31 games prior to the shutdown with an injury to the same knee. The third-year forward will miss the remainder of the 2019-20 season, and his rehab could keep him out for the bulk of the 2020-21 season, as well. Prior to the initial injury, Isaac had emerged as one of the most improved players in the league -- particularly on the defensive end, where he posted 2.4 blocks and 1.5 steals in 29.2 minutes per game.
Aug 2, 2020
Leaves court in wheelchair
Isaac departed Sunday's game against the Kings in a wheelchair after appearing to re-injure his left knee, Tim Bontemps of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac had already missed significant time this season after originally injuring his left knee back in January, and his return for the restart was somewhat of a surprise. The Florida State product appeared healthy during scrimmages, and he was coming off of a 16-point, six-rebound effort in Friday's win over Brooklyn. The Magic have not yet clarified the extent of the injury, but given how it looked -- as well as Isaac's history -- it's difficult to imagine the forward taking the court again in 2020-21.
Aug 2, 2020
Facing 16-minute restriction
Orlando coach Steve Clifford said Isaac will come off the bench and face a roughly 16-minute restriction Sunday against the Kings, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Isaac dazzled in 16 minutes (16 points on 6-for-7 shooting from the field, six rebounds and one steal) during Friday's win over the Nets, the Magic aren't eager to increase his workload just yet after he returned from a seven-month absence due to a severe knee sprain. James Ennis will continue to start at forward alongside Aaron Gordon, but if he avoids any setbacks, Isaac should replace Ennis on the top unit before the Magic's seeding games conclude.
Jul 31, 2020
Plays excellent in return
Isaac posted 16 points (6-7 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and one steal in 16 minutes during Friday's 128-118 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Isaac played his first regular-season game since Jan. 1 on Friday, and he looked excellent in limited action. He missed just one shot all game and hit two three-pointers, which he had only done six times prior this season. Look for him to see a little more run when the Magic face the Kings on Sunday.
Jul 31, 2020
To see limited action
Isaac (knee) will play off the bench Friday against the Nets, but his minutes will be limited, Nick Friedell of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Magic continue to be cautious with Isaac, who is working his way back from the knee injury that had kept him out since Jan. 1. He looked great in the team's final scrimmage earlier in the week, but coach Steve Clifford told the media that Isaac's workload "won't be significant" in his return to real game action.
Jul 29, 2020
Should be available Friday
Coach Steve Clifford said he believes Isaac (knee) is going to play Friday against the Nets, but he continues to evaluate him day-to-day, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old played in Monday's scrimmage against the Nuggets and saw only seven minutes off the bench, but he was incredibly active with 13 points (5-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, two steals, and one assist. However, Clifford doesn't want to commit to Isaac being available ahead of time as he returns from the left knee sprain. The young forward is expected to play Friday -- and likely will have a minutes restriction if he does -- but he should officially be considered questionable.
Jul 28, 2020
Thrives off bench in return
Isaac exploded for 13 points (5-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, two steals, and one assist in just seven minutes off the bench during Monday's 114-110 win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
This was Isaac's first game since New Year's Day but, considering how good he looked, he is pumped and ready to go for the season opener Friday against the Nets. He is expected to have a regular in the rotation, but he might come off the bench given the fact he hasn't played an official game in almost seven months.
Jul 27, 2020
To have minutes limit
Isaac's minutes will be limited in Monday's scrimmage against Denver, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Considering it will be Isaac's first real game action since New Year's Day, this shouldn't come as a much of a surprise. The rangy forward was held out of the previous two scrimmages as he works back from a knee injury that shelved him for the final 31 games before the shutdown. If all goes well Monday, Isaac will likely be on track to rejoin the Magic's rotation for the finish to the regular season. Orlando faces Brooklyn on Friday in the first of eight seeding games.
Jul 26, 2020
Will play in Monday's scrimmage
Isaac (knee) will be available for Monday's scrimmage against Denver, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac's status has been up in the air for the last several weeks, but this is a significant step in the right direction. The third-year big man went down with a knee injury on Jan. 1 and has not played since, but he's been ramping up his activity in recent days, including participating in a 5-on-5 scrimmage at practice Friday. Prior to the injury, Isaac was in the midst of a breakout campaign -- particularly on the defensive end, where he was averaging 1.6 steals and 2.4 blocks per contest.
Jul 24, 2020
Takes contact but won't scrimmage
Isaac (knee) was a participant in five-on-five contact work during Friday's practice but will not scrimmage Saturday against the Lakers, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac continues to make strong progress in his recovery, but he's not yet ready to take the court. Previous reports indicated that we may not know if Isaac will play in the resumed season until late in the seeding games process.
Jul 21, 2020
Won't scrimmage Wednesday
Isaac (knee) will not participate in Wednesday's scrimmage against the Clippers, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Isaac will sit out the Magic's first scrimmage as he continues to work back from a sprained left knee. He's recently progressed to 5-on-5 work, so a return at some point is on the table. Orlando's first seeding game is July 31 against the Nets, but it seems likely that if Isaac does make a return, it will be in the later games or in the postseason.
Jul 21, 2020
Plays more 5-on-5
Isaac continues to go through 5-on-5 work during practices, but it remains unclear if he'll play during the NBA restart, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Steve Clifford said back on July 13 that the team likely won't make a decision on Isaac's status for another "two or three weeks," but the fact that Isaac is participating in regular 5-on-5 sessions has to be viewed as a positive indication. The third-year forward hasn't played since suffering a knee injury on Jan. 1, so if he does return in Orlando, he will have had roughly seven months to recover. "I'm optimistic," Isaac said of his chances to gain medical clearance. "I have no reservations in my mind about it. If I'm ready to play and if I get the clearance, I'm ready to go."
Jul 16, 2020
Does limited 5-on-5 work
Isaac (knee) went through limited five-on-five work during Thursday's practice, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
On Monday, coach Steve Clifford said he doesn't expect to know for another two-to-three weeks whether Isaac will be ready to play. It's a good sign, though, that Isaac has begun five-on-five work, even if it's in a limited capacity. Ultimately, we shouldn't be surprised if Isaac either doesn't play or only sees action in the postseason.
Jul 13, 2020
Status won't be known until August
Magic coach Steve Clifford said Monday that he doesn't expect to know for another 2-to-3 weeks whether Isaac (knee) will be ready to play during the NBA season restart, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Isaac joined the Magic at the Walt Disney World complex as the team prepares to return from a four-month layoff, he still has yet to go through contact drills since sustaining a significant left knee sprain Jan. 1. While Clifford is satisfied with Isaac's progress in his rehab thus far, a timeline for the forward's return won't be established until he's able to go through 5-on-5 drills. Isaac can probably be ruled out for the remainder of the Magic's regular-season slate, and he likely won't be an option in the playoffs either unless Orlando makes a surprising deep run.
Jul 12, 2020
Not ready for contact
Magic head coach Steve Clifford said Sunday that Isaac (knee) hasn't done any contact work since joining Orlando for practices at the Walt Disney World complex, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Isaac is with the Magic in the NBA "bubble" as the league prepares to return from a four-plus-month hiatus, the team isn't counting on him playing at any point during the remainder of the regular season or playoffs. Instead, the Magic likely just cleared him to join the bubble so he could have his rehab program supervised as he looks to move past the severe left knee sprain he sustained Jan. 1. Isaac is expected to be back to full strength ahead of training camp for the 2020-21 season.
Jul 7, 2020
To continue rehab in bubble
Isaac (knee) will continue his rehab in the Orlando bubble but is not expected to play, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will continue working back from his knee injury while supporting his teammates in the bubble. He hasn't been ruled out completely, but it seems unlikely he'll play unless the Magic go surprisingly far in the playoffs. Even then, the organization could prefer to play it safe.
Jun 9, 2020
Not expected to play this season
Isaac (knee) is not expected to be available for the Magic when play resumes in July, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
While the Magic haven't ruled Isaac out completely, they'll take a cautious approach as the third-year forward works back from a severely hyperextended knee, which he sustained on Jan. 1. Prior to the injury, Isaac was in the midst of a breakout campaign -- particularly on the defensive end of the floor. "There's a difference of being healthy and then being safely healthy," Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman said. "It will have been a long, long time since [Isaac and Al-Farouq Aminu] played and you know organizationally that we're never going to put our guys in a position where they're exposed to any sort of risk of injury. So that being said, we'll just continue to see how they progress."

Squats most weight since injury
Isaac (knee) intimated that his knee is feeling strong and Thursday he squatted the most weight he's done since his injury, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac suffered a sprained knee Jan. 1 against the Wizards and hasn't played since. He noted that it's possible he'll play if the season resumes again, but that he'd have to be "110 percent."
May 4, 2020
Door open for postseason return
Isaac (knee) said Thursday in an online Q&A session with Magic season ticket holders that he'll attempt to resume playing in the 2020 postseason if he feels "110 percent" and the training staff deems him ready to go, John Denton of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac said in the chat session that he's attempted to rebuild strength and flexibility in his sprained left knee by riding a stationary bicycle and taking part in weight-training exercises. Before the NBA suspended its season March 12, Isaac had been sidelined nearly two and a half months with the injury, which was originally expected to keep him sidelined for the remainder of the campaign. If the NBA resumes its season later in the summer, however, Isaac could be back to full health or close to it.

Continues to don hinged knee brace
Isaac said Tuesday that he feels "fantastic" during his rehab program but is still wearing a hinged brace to protected his left knee, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was diagnosed with a severe left knee sprain and bone contusion after exiting early in a Jan. 1 game in Washington, and though he was able to avoid surgery, the Magic ruled him out for the season just over a month later. Since that time, the NBA has suspended its season due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the ongoing hiatus could provide Isaac with enough time to heal up from the injury and rejoin the Magic for a potential playoff run. Orlando likely won't have a firm timeline for Isaac's return for at least another month, however, as the 6-foot-11 forward still appears to be stuck in the initial stages of his rehab program. While Isaac has thus far avoided any setbacks, he has yet to resume any on-court activity since suffering the injury, and he won't be allowed to even work out in front of the Magic coaching staff until the NBA allows teams to reconvene for training.
Mar 16, 2020
Still donning brace for knee
Isaac was still sporting a hinged brace over his sprained left knee last week prior to the NBA's suspension of the season, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Magic team president Jeff Weltman said in a radio appearance shortly before the All-Star break that Isaac (knee) would miss the remainder of the season, but the NBA's unexpected indefinite shutdown could prompt Orlando to re-evaluate the forward's availability. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, league owners and executives are bracing for mid-to-late June as a best-case scenario for the league to resume action. While Robbins notes that Isaac remains far away from even resuming on-court activity, a three-month delay of the season might provide enough time for him to recover from the severe sprain and structural damage he sustained to his left knee back on Jan. 1. Isaac should at the very least be ready for the start of the 2020-21 season, but if he responds well to rehab in the weeks to come, the Magic -- who currently sit eighth in the Eastern Conference standings -- could consider bringing him back for a potential playoff run.
Feb 10, 2020
Officially done for season
Magic team president Jeff Weltman confirmed last week during an interview with Scott Anez of ESPN 580 Orlando that Isaac (knee) will remain sidelined for the rest of the season.
ANALYSIS
Weltman's comments don't come as much of a surprise after the Magic previously applied for a Disabled Player Exception for Isaac back in January, which signaled that the organization didn't expect him to be ready to play until early April at the soonest. Now that a late-season return is off the table for Isaac, fantasy managers who had been holding him in redraft formats can feel free to move on. Isaac is expected to be fully recovered from his severe left knee sprain in advance of training camp next fall.
Jan 10, 2020
May be done for season
The Magic applied to the NBA for a Disabled Player Exception for Isaac (knee), implying the team projects him to miss the remainder of the season, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Orlando also did the same for forward Al-Farouq Aminu (knee), who underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. Unlike Aminu, Isaac won't require surgery, but reports earlier this week suggested the 2017 lottery pick would still be sidelined for at least the next 8-to-10 weeks for rest and recovery as he tends to a severe left knee sprain and bone contusion. Even if the Magic aren't granted a waiver for Isaac, the 22-year-old doesn't look like he'll be available to play until at least early April, making it tough to justify holding him in most single-season leagues.
Jan 8, 2020
Doesn't need surgery
Isaac (knee) will not undergo surgery, and will instead be treated with rest and therapy, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac will still be sidelined for about 8-to-10 weeks as originally noted, but the medical staff has determined that surgery isn't necessary. We should learn more about the specific return date as he progresses in his recovery and hits various milestones.
Jan 2, 2020
Optimistic before MRI
Isaac (knee) is optimistic that the knee injury he suffered Wednesday is not as severe as initially anticipated, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was stretchered off the floor Wednesday with a left knee injury, and while it initially looked to be quite serious, there's now optimism that the young forward has avoided major damage. "To be honest, I think we got lucky," coach Steve Clifford said after the game. "I was right there, and the way it twisted (looked bad), and I thought I heard a pop, and usually that's bad." In the postgame locker room, Isaac was observed walking without a noticeable limp, and he was not wearing a brace on the knee. Isaac is set for an MRI on Thursday, at which point a more detailed update should be available.
Jan 1, 2020
Stretchered off Wednesday
Isaac suffered an apparent left knee injury during Wednesday's game against the Wizards and was stretchered off the floor, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac got tangled up with Bradley Beal on a drive to the basket, and his left knee appeared to buckle. He collapsed to the floor and was in obvious pain before the training staff eventually brought out the stretcher. The Magic are yet to issue an update, but the immediate implication is that the injury could potentially be season-ending.
Dec 19, 2019
Not on injury report
Isaac (hamstring/back) is not listed on the injury report for Friday's game against the Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Isaac departed Wednesday's game against Denver with tightness in both his hamstring and back, but his exclusion from the latest report indicates that it doesn't appear to be anything serious. Isaac finished Wednesday's game with seven points and five rebounds in 17 minutes.
Nov 20, 2019
Cleared for Wednesday
Coach Steve Clifford said after the Magic's shootaround that Isaac (ankle) is "good to go" for Wednesday's game against the Raptors, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac missed the Magic's previous two games with a sprained right ankle, but his ability to complete a full practice over the weekend seemingly eliminated any concern about him being at risk of a long-term absence. The Magic may monitor Isaac's minutes more conservatively than usual in his first game back from injury, but the third-year player should reclaim his normal starting role at small forward, sending Al-Farouq Aminu to the bench.
Nov 19, 2019
Game-time call Wednesday
Isaac (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Raptors, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac has missed the last two games due to a right ankle sprain, but he'll have a chance to return come Wednesday, depending on how he fares in shootaround and pregame warmups. Al-Farouq Aminu would be in line for another start if Isaac is ultimately ruled out.
Nov 17, 2019
Out Sunday
Isaac (ankle) will not play Sunday against Washington, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac also missed Friday's game against San Antonio, but his absence Sunday comes as a surprise after he was able to go through a full practice Saturday. Al-Farouq Aminu got the start in Isaac's place against San Antonio, and that'll likely be the case again Sunday.
Nov 16, 2019
Participates fully in practice
Isaac (ankle) was a full go in Saturday's practice and can be considered questionable for Sunday's tilt with Washington, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Isaac was able to participate fully in Saturday's non-contact practice after missing Friday's tilt with San Antonio with a sprained right ankle. If he's forced to miss a second-straight contest, look for Al-Farouq Aminu and Terrence Ross to see additional run.
Nov 15, 2019
Out with sprained ankle
Isaac has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Spurs due to a right sprained ankle.
ANALYSIS
Isaac's injury seemingly came out of nowhere, but it's serious enough to force him to miss time. Al-Farouq Aminu and Terrence Ross will be candidates to start in Isaac's absence.
