Maluach chipped in two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist in 10 minutes during Wednesday's 138-89 loss to Oklahoma City.

Maluach continues to play limited minutes off the bench, typically used during garbage time only. In 12 appearances thus far this season, the rookie is averaging just 1.4 points and 1.0 rebounds in 4.9 minutes per contest.

Phoenix assigned Maluach to the G League's Valley Suns on Wednesday.

The rookie has been unable to break through Phoenix's rotation with 4.4 minutes per contest across 10 appearances thus far.

Maluach, who was assigned to the G League's Valley Suns on Tuesday, produced seven points (3-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds and two blocks in 28 minutes of Tuesday's 112-101 loss to the Rip City Remix.

Maluach has made just eight appearances at the NBA level for an average of 4.8 minutes per contest. At least in the short term, most of his live reps are expected to come in the G League.

The Suns recalled Maluach from the G League's Valley Suns on Saturday.

Maluah joined the Suns' G League affiliate for Friday's loss to the Rip City Remix, posting nine points (2-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals across 26 minutes. The rookie first-rounder has logged double-digit minutes just once for the parent club, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him get some reps in with the Valley Suns moving forward.

With Maluach not getting much run at the NBA level, this move allows the rookie to get some much needed live reps.

Even with Mark Williams (rest) getting the night off for maintenance, the rookie logged just six minutes on the night. He's an intriguing long-term project for the Suns, but it's clear the team is going to bring him along very slowly.

Maluach will come off the bench during Wednesday's game against the Kings.

After starting the preseason finale, Maluach will be in the second unit. The team will run with Devin Booker, Ryan Dunn, Grayson Allen, Dillon Brooks and Oso Ighodaro in the first five.

Maluach showcased exactly why he was taken No. 10 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft on Tuesday, even connecting on a rare three-pointer. The Duke product is a gifted physical specimen, enabling him to be a force around the rim on both ends of the court. While still considered somewhat raw, Maluach's preseason performance is an encouraging sign for the Suns as they determine how much playing time and responsibility to give him during his rookie campaign.

Maluach is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's exhibition against the Lakers, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports.

Maluach is getting the start with Nick Richards (rest) and Oso Ighodaro (rest) joining Mark Williams (undisclosed) on the sidelines, so Maluach could be flirting with 30 minutes Tuesday evening. While he'll have some time to shine in Tuesday's exhibition, he's buried on the depth chart in Phoenix, so he's not worth targeting in most formats.

Maluach has been quiet through the preseason thus far, posting meager averages of 7.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and not much else in 13.7 minutes a night. He'll begin the season playing limited minutes behind Mark Williams and Nick Richards in Phoenix, so he can safely be ignored in most leagues.

Maluach (rest) is available for Monday's Summer League game against the Kings, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.

Maluach sat out Sunday's game against the Hawks but is set to return to action Monday versus the Kings. The big man was selected No. 10 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft after posting averages of 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 39 games during his lone season at Duke.

The Rockets made the draft pick, but Maluach is headed to the Suns as the 10th overall pick that was included in the Kevin Durant (ankle) trade, which is still pending. The seven-footer out of Duke is a lengthy, rim-running center who was productive at the college level but has plenty of room to grow. Maluach's 1.3 blocks per game aren't indicative of his defensive impact, often dissuading players from attempting shots at the rim. He's got a shot form good enough to possibly become a stretch five down the road. For now, he'll be a high-impact rim protector and a strong rebounder. Per Shams Charania of ESPN, the Suns acquired Mark Williams on Wednesday night in exchange for the No. 29 pick and a future first-round pick, so Maluach will likely start his career coming off the bench.
