Still, he has built up some momentum as a source of triples and scoring, with per-game averages of 12.4 points and 3.4 three-pointers over his past nine contests.

Kennard contributed three points (1-7 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 0-1 FT), three rebounds and one assist in 23 minutes during Sunday's 99-98 victory over Houston.

Kennard's numbers continue to trend down after his 25 -point tour-de-force 10 days ago against Houston, where he converted an eye-popping eight of nine three-pointers. The rematch against Houston was a taler of opposites, as he failed to make much of an impact in the Clippers' offense.

Kennard had 18 points (6-9 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Friday's 105-102 win over the Lakers.

It was a balanced effort by the Clippers, who had seven players score in double figures. Kennard was the high man off the bench, drilling five three-pointers and finishing as a plus-7 in his 34 minutes of action. When the Clippers acquired Norman Powell (foot) from Portland, it looked like Kennard's role would shrink, but with Powell sidelined he's played 34, 23, 24, 19 and 28 minutes over his last five games, respectively.

Kennard lost against Karl-Anthony Towns in the final round of the Three-Point Contest on Saturday.

Kennard is widely known as one of the best shooters in the league and came close to winning this event, but Towns was more efficient in the final round and secured the victory. Kennard left his money ball rack at the end, but he missed the two three-point shots from deep and that came back to haunt him. Losing this event shouldn't take anything away from Kennard and his status as one of the best shooters in the league, though. He's hitting 44.8 percent of his treys this season.

Despite this dud, he can have some streaming appeal on most nights, especially until Nic Batum (health protocols) makes it back from his stint on the sidelines.

He doesn't do a lot outside of scoring, and so when his shot isn't falling or he becomes passive on offense, there is very little to fall back on. Barring any roster shifts, he should be viewed as a streaming option in competitive leagues.

The strong effort comes on the heels of a mediocre pair of performances, during which Kennard combined for only 17 points and three triples, to open the campaign.

Going forward, there's a good chance Kennard will remain on the fringes of the rotation, but he'll likely have a few more opportunities to provide a spark for a team that suddenly has a navigable path to the Finals. With that said, the Clippers certainly hoped to get more out of a player they inked to a $64 million extension back in December.

Kawhi Leonard (foot) is going to miss at least another few games and so while he won't be this good every night, Kennard could be a short-term streaming option across most competitive formats.

Kennard might be a valuable streaming option in a short-term picture, but he's expected to move back to the bench once both Leonard and George are available -- cutting his playing time and upside as a result.

Kawhi Leonard was given the night off for rest purposes, allowing Kennard to slide into the starting lineup. Kennard's upside in the short-term scenario will be determined by George's availability, but he remains a solid offensive threat when given enough minutes and could remain a solid waiver pick-up in most formats as long as George remains out.

Kennard delivered 21 points (8-11 FG, 5-6 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists across 32 minutes in Monday's win over the Bucks.

Kennard started just for the eighth time this season, as he drew the start over Paul George (foot), but he made the most of the opportunity and registered a season-high mark in scoring. He has reached the 20-point mark just three times in the entire campaign, however, and his short-term upside will ultimately be determined by George's availability. If he remains in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Magic, then he could be considered a viable waiver pick-up across all formats.

Kennard will start at shooting guard Monday night against the Bucks, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.

Kennard will stand in for Paul George, who was a late scratch due to foot soreness. This marks Kennard's first start since Feb. 7 against the Kings.

Kennard registered 20 points (8-8 FG, 4-4 3Pt), seven rebounds, four assists and a blocked shot across 18 minutes in Monday's 119-110 win over the Hawks.

With LA's elites unable to gain much traction, coach Tyronn Lue emptied his bench out of desperation, and it turned out to be the right move. Kennard came into the game, didn't miss a shot, and joined Terence Mann to erase a 20-point deficit. The Clippers paid a hefty sum for Kennard's services in the offseason, and so far, it hasn't amounted to much. Monday's stellar play helped erase some of the lingering doubt about his effectiveness. Kennard revived some of the hustle he displayed in college. His usual position has a logjam on the depth chart, so the guard's future fortunes are cloudy at best.

Kennard finished Sunday's loss to New Orleans with 15 points (6-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt) and four rebounds across 19 minutes.

Kennard has been averaging less than 10 minutes per game since returning from a knee injury in late February, but he received a little more run with Los Angeles sitting their starters late in the blowout loss. The result was Kennard's highest scoring effort since Jan. 17, when he tallied 20 points versus Indiana. In his first season as a Clipper, the fourth-year pro is averaging a modest 7.7 points and 2.6 boards per contest.

Kennard played two minutes Friday in the Clippers' 119-99 win over the Grizzlies, tallying one rebound and no other statistics.

After losing in a blowout to the Grizzlies on Thursday, the Clippers returned the favor in Friday's rematch. Though the non-competitive nature of both games allowed LA to give some extra run to reserves, the fact that Kennard only earned eight minutes of playing time between the contests indicates that he's fallen out of favor for head coach Tyronn Lue. Kennard's fall out of the rotation is a major surprise, given that he signed a four-year, $64 million extension with the club back in December.

After scoring 15.8 points per game a season ago with Detroit, Kennard has struggled in his first year with Los Angeles as Sunday was only his seventh game with double-digit points.

Kennard will come off the bench Wednesday against the Timberwolves, Garrett Chorpenning of SI.com reports.

The 24-year-old started the past two games for Los Angeles, but he'll shift back to the bench with Patrick Beverley (knee) returning from an eight-game absence. Kennard could see his playing time take a hit, but he should still have plenty of action since Paul George (toe) remains sidelined.

Kennard recorded eight points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3PT, 1-1 FT), one rebound, one assist and one block in 19 minutes during the 113-110 loss to Sacramento on Sunday.

Kennard received the spot start with teammate Paul George out and he completely butchered his chance. The guard was subpar on the floor and did not produce elsewhere to make up for his lack of points. Kennard has been in quite the rut of form lately and he is to be passed for the time being.

Kennard will start at shooting guard in Friday's game against the Celtics, Garrett Chorpenning of SI.com reports.

Kennard will replace Paul George (foot) in the starting lineup. According to head coach Tyronn Lue, the team was planning on starting Terance Mann until they found out Jaylen Brown (knee) was sidelined. As a result, they will lean towards offense and give Kennard the start.

Kennard played four minutes during Tuesday's 124-120 loss to the Nets, recording one rebound.

Kennard has seen only 15 minutes total across the past two games, and it appears coach Tyronn Lue could be losing faith in him. Kennard is seeing only 22.0 minutes per game on the season, averaging 8.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists. He's shooting well, but the Clippers have other backcourt options when he's not playing well on a particular night or there's a bad matchup.

Kennard posted 13 points (5-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four steals, three rebounds and two assists across 28 minutes Tuesday in the Clippers' 108-99 loss to the Hawks.

Kennard was one of three new additions to the Clippers' starting five after Paul George (COVID-19 protocols), Kawhi Leonard (COVID-19 protocols) and Patrick Beverley (knee) were sidelined for the first contest of a six-game road trip. Reggie Jackson (20 points, eight assists, seven rebounds in 39 minutes) was the Clippers' top fantasy producer on the night, but Kennard wasn't far behind and actually sported the higher usage rate (21.5 percent) of the two. Since all of George, Leonard and Beverley are uncertain to join the Clippers at any point during the road trip, the likes of Kennard, Jackson, Lou Williams and Serge Ibaka -- among others -- should all benefit from short-term spikes in fantasy value.

Kennard is starting Tuesday against the Hawks, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The Clippers will be without Patrick Beverley (knee), Paul George (COVID-19 protocols) and Kawhi Leonard (COVID-19 protocols) on Tuesday, so Kennard will receive his fourth start of the season. George and Leonard are expected to miss multiple games, so Kennard should have an increased role for the near future.

Friday's performance may have been Kennard's worst of the season, as he was completely ineffective in his 16 minutes. Considering how reliant Kennard is on three-pointers for his offense, he'll be prone to some dud fantasy performances. And while he's a decent playmaker, the Clippers' offense has no shortage of players to handle the ball, so there will be nights where he can't rack up a meaningful number of assists.

Kennard recorded 20 points (7-12 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and two assists in a 129-96 win Sunday versus Indiana.

Kennard averaged 7.8 PPG across a mere five-game span in 2020 due to knee injuries and the coronavirus pandemic. Despite those setbacks, he has supplied serviceable value since returning. Kennard averaged 10.1 points on a 57.9 shot percentage across his first nine games of 2021.

Kennard recorded nine points (3-10 FG, 1-5 3PT, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and four assists in 38 minutes in the 116-113 loss to San Antonio on Tuesday.

Kennard was gifted a very big role and butchered it in the loss Tuesday. After news broke that fellow teammate Paul George would be sitting due to an ankle injury, Kennard got the nod to start in his place. However, he was woeful at best with his shooting attempts. Kennard went a mediocre 26 percent from the floor, but did add six grabs. It is not certain how bad the injury is to George and if he sits out longer, Kennard may lose his starting spot.

Kennard will start Tuesday's game against the Spurs, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.

With Paul George (ankle) sidelined, Kennard will move into the starting five. In two previous starts, he averaged 11.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 28.5 minutes.

With Kawhi Leonard out with a mouth injury, Kennard will make his second straight start. Kennard posted seven points and two rebounds in 29 minutes of action Sunday against Dallas.

It was an embarrassment from start to finish for the Clippers, who were completely rudderless without Kawhi Leonard (mouth). Los Angeles fell behind 77-27 at the half and was never able to make the game even remotely competitive. Kennard got the start in place of Leonard but was mostly ineffective, hitting just one of his six three-point attempts as the Clippers shot 4-of-33 from deep as a team. Kennard is yet to score in double-figures in three games with his new team.

Kennard will start Sunday's game against the Mavericks, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.

Per Wojnarowski, It's a three-team deal involving Detroit, Brooklyn and the Clippers. Kennard heads West to the Clippers, while the Nets get Landry Shamet from Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the Pistons receive the No. 19 pick from Brooklyn, giving Detroit three picks inside the top 20. Fantasy-wise, Kennard is heading to a better basketball situation, but not one that projects to positive impact his value.

Kennard was able to take some light contact in practice coming out of the All-Star break, but the Pistons have thus far been unwilling to issue a target date for the third-year wing's return to game action.
