The rookie held a consistent role to begin the campaign, posting 8.3 points, 2.9 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 18.5 minutes across the first 20 games, but he's been out of the regular rotation since. With Cade Cunningham (knee) set to miss about a week, Sasser could see an elevated role again.

Sasser racked up 11 points (4-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), two rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 17 minutes during Friday's 124-92 loss to the 76ers.

Sasser has fallen out of the rotation of late, notching a DNP on Monday and averaging just five minutes over the past three contests in which he's played. However, with the Pistons getting blown out and on their way to a 22nd straight defeat Friday, the rookie point guard got a little more run and made the most of the opportunity with a perfect 4-for-4 performance from the field en route to his first double-digit scoring effort of December. Sasser has shown flashes of potential this season, but it's been hard for him to carve out a consistent role with Killian Hayes and Jaden Ivey ahead of him at point guard.

Sasser ended Wednesday's 133-107 loss to the Lakers with nine points (3-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, eight assists, one block and two steals across 28 minutes.

The eight dimes were a season high for Sasser, the 25th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. While he's third on the depth chart at point guard behind Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes, the rookie has played more than 20 minutes in three of the last five games as Detroit keeps getting blown out, creating opportunities for Sasser to get some extra run. He's generally taking advantage -- through 14 games in November, he's averaging 9.2 points, 3.4 assists, 1.9 boards, 1.3 threes and 0.9 steals in 21.1 minutes a contest, and he could be an intriguing fantasy option if injuries hit the Pistons backcourt.

This was a nice bounce-back performance for Sasser after he scored a combined six points in his previous two contests. The Pistons are finally getting healthier, and it sounds like Killian Hayes (shoulder, probable) is expected to return Monday against Denver, so it won't be easy for Sasser to keep his minutes up.

Sasser finished Wednesday's 120-118 loss to the Bucks with 26 points (11-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal across 28 minutes.

Sasser provided a big spark off the Pistons bench, connecting on a team-high mark from three while finishing on the team in scoring. Sasser posted his highest scoring total over the first nine games, having tallied 20 or more points in two of his last three outings.

Sasser finished with 22 points (9-16 FG, 4-6 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists and one steal across 30 minutes during Sunday's 120-106 loss to the Suns.

Sasser is an intriguing prospect who could make an impact sooner than later, but he has been forced to settle with limited minutes off the bench to begin the season. He looked impressive in this one, and when factoring in the team's offensive struggles, it wouldn't be shocking if Sasser sees an uptick in minutes and a slightly bigger role in the Pistons' upcoming games, beginning with Monday's matchup against the Warriors.

Sasser contributed 19 points (6-10 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, three assists and one steal across 23 minutes off the bench during Thursday's 125-116 loss to New Orleans.

The 25th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft had his best game yet as a pro, setting career highs in scoring and three-pointers. Sasser's role has grown quickly, largely due to Monte Morris (quad) being sidelined, and the rookie is responding with some intriguing per-minute production. His court time, even on the second unit, has a pretty firmly cap in a backcourt dominated by Cade Cunningham, Killian Hayes and Jaden Ivey, however.

Sasser totaled eight points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds, six assists, one block and four steals across 23 minutes during Wednesday's 110-101 loss to the Trail Blazers.

Sasser recorded season highs in minutes, points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks Wednesday. His uptick in production is largely thanks to Alec Burks' (forearm) absence. However, Sasser's strong play could result in increased playing time in the future.

Sasser delivered 17 points (5-12 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds and six assists across 26 minutes off the bench in Thursday's 118-116 preseason win over the Thunder.

Sasser played a team-high 26 minutes and finished the game as the Pistons' second-highest scorer behind Ausar Thompson, who finished with 18 points. It remains to be seen if Sasser will secure a spot in the Opening Night roster, but he has certainly shown promise, just like he did in the 2023 Summer League as well.

Sasser poured in 40 points (16-25 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT) five assists, three rebounds and a steal over 30 minutes during Sunday's 100-85 Summer League win over the Pacers.

Sasser put up a 2023 Las Vegas Summer League high of 40 points Sunday, scoring 31 in the second half and missing just one shot after halftime. He also added five assists without committing a turnover, showcasing his playmaking prowess. The 25th overall pick struggled with his shot throughout the Summer League but he will go out on a high note, putting to rest any doubts on his scoring ability.
