Strus' production has been a bit of a rollercoaster lately, although there's been far more ups than downs this season. Strus is on pace to return fifth-round fantasy value in nine-category leagues with averages of 14.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.9 three-pointers on 43.9 percent shooting from the field and 82.6 percent from the line.

This line is particularly impressive when you consider that the Cavaliers were at full strength Sunday, as Darius Garland played through a neck strain and Donovan Mitchell played in both games of this back-to-back set. Strus is known for his elite three-point shooting, but his playmaking ability has turned a lot of heads recently. He has averaged 3.8 assists per game this season, and he has recorded at least five assists in five out of 17 games.

Strus contributed 20 points (7-15 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals in 44 minutes during Tuesday's 122-119 overtime win over the 76ers.

Strus has been stepping his game up with Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) sidelined for the last few games, and he has embraced the more prominent role by attempting double-digit shots in four of his previous five appearances. Strus' assists counts will likely trend down whenever Garland returns to the lineup, but the former should be worthy of a back-end roster spot in most 12-team leagues while he continues to receive 30-plus minutes on a nightly basis. In shallower leagues, Strus can be viewed as a strong streaming option for three-pointers, as he's averaging 2.7 per game through 11 appearances.

Strus racked up 19 points (7-12 FG, 5-9 3Pt), five rebounds, four assists and one steal in 34 minutes during Monday's 132-120 loss to Sacramento.

Strus' proficiency from long range is well-documented, and he flexed that muscle one again during Monday's loss. He's averaging a career-high 7.9 three-point attempts per game with his new team, mostly due to his first opportunity as a full-time starter.

Strus notched 16 points (6-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal across 33 minutes during Saturday's 118-110 win over Golden State.

Strus got most of his shots to fall and logged a solid secondary contribution in the win. Getting 30-plus minutes on a regular basis has been a luxury since joining the Cavs, as his usage with the Heat would vary game-by-game. He's still being used as the starting option over Caris LeVert, who is going off as the team's sixth man.

This was an impressive line, especially considering that the Cavaliers are healthy again. Strus has started all seven games this season, compiling averages of 13.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.6 three-pointers.

Strus ended Saturday's 125-113 loss to the Pacers with 21 points (7-20 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 11 rebounds and six assists in 42 minutes.

Strus didn't have a particularly efficient shooting night, but was able to contribute on the boards and in the passing game while limiting his turnovers. His 42 minutes played was the most of the season and it seems like he'll be playing a lot of minutes to begin the season. Strus and the Cavs will face the Knicks on Tuesday in the first of a home-and-home series.

Strus finished Wednesday's 114-113 win over Brooklyn with 27 points (9-17 FG, 7-13 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 39 minutes.

Shifting into a frontcourt role with Jarrett Allen (ankle) unavailable for Cleveland's season opener, Strus made an immediate impact for his new club as he led the Cavs in boards and threes while tying Donovan Mitchell for the team lead in scoring. Strus didn't post numbers anything close to this on average in Miami, and while he won't maintain quite this pace, a career-best campaign could be in the works as he provides a strong complementary piece behind Mitchell and Evan Mobley.

Strus also logged five turnovers and four fouls. Strus is on track to be Cleveland's starting small forward, but at just 6-foot-5 he could be taxed when facing bigger wings. Nonetheless, he should be a smooth fit offensively with upside to help facilitate in second units.

Strus was traded from the Heat to the Cavaliers at the beginning of July after starting in 33 of 80 appearances with Miami last year. Strus led all scorers in the contest, falling one point shy of his career-best mark. The sharpshooting guard also finished one three-pointer short of his career single-game high, making eight of his 14 shots from deep. Strus doesn't provide much outside of scoring and triples, but he is a low-end fantasy asset for his elite production in the latter category. He's tied for ninth in the league this season with 41 triples over 13 contests.

Strus produced 12 points (5-15 FG, 2-11 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and two steals across 40 minutes during Thursday's 117-112 overtime win over the Hornets.

Strus didn't have his usual shooting touch from beyond the arc in this one, and he didn't offer up much else in terms of production. Strus' main draw for fantasy managers continues to be his scoring value, finishing in double figures in each of his last eight contests.

Strus recorded 17 points (6-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals over 40 minutes during Friday's 101-99 loss to the Pacers.

Strus has unsurprisingly been firing up attempts at a high rate from beyond the arc early on this season, as he averaged 6.5 attempts per contest over 68 games a year ago. He shot with efficiency from three Friday night, but he's just 24-for-73 through his first 10 matchups of the 2022-23 campaign. Strus figures to turn things around soon after hitting 41.0 percent of his attempts from downtown a year ago.

Strus is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Kings.

Strus gets the start with Jimmy Butler (hip) out. Despite only starting in one out of eight games this season, Strus has averaged 31.0 minutes per game. The undrafted forward will be relied upon for his three-point shooting to overcome Butler's absence.

Strus finished Thursday's 123-110 loss to Golden State with 14 points (5-11 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds and two blocks across 32 minutes.

Strus has been Miami's best scoring option off the bench after putting up double-digit points in four of his five outings where he's not started. He's also drained at least three treys in those contests, and he could be a decent fantasy option for managers who need a productive player that can score and knock down threes despite not logging heavy minutes.

Strus will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.

With Caleb Martin back in the lineup following his one-game suspension, Strus will shift back to a bench role against Portland. Strus is averaging 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 30.5 minutes per game this season.

Strus has bookended a 23-minute, two-point dud with a pair of performances in which he has scored 20-plus points so far this season.

Strus proved again Wednesday that he is one the league's most efficient three-point shooters, as he shot 41.0 percent from deep last season. Despite moving back to the bench, he played the fifth most minutes on the team. If Strus can continue to rebound the ball well and maintain his playing time, he will be a sleeper option in fantasy.

Strus posted 11 points (3-8 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two assists in 17 minutes during Thursday's 120-103 preseason win over the Pelicans.

Strus has been moved back to the Heat's bench, despite his hot shooting. If this holds, Tyler Herro will likely be inserted into the starting lineup. Regardless of Strus's role, he will be an underrated play for fantasy owners in Roto leagues that want to boost their three-point percentages and makes.

His limited skill set makes him a borderline roster option in fantasy, but Monday's performance was a reminder of how prolific he can be when he gets hot from deep.

Dating back to the regular season, Strus has now scored in double digits in five of his last seven appearances, though he occupies a secondary role on the offensive scheme behind players such as Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, or even bench options such as Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro.

Strus put up 23 points (7-10 FG, 7-9 3PT, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal in the 114-109 win over Toronto on Sunday.

With Jimmy Butler being held out, Strus saw a significant boost in production. After averaging just 10.4 points per game in his last 10 contests, the third-year guard seemingly couldn't miss from three-point land and finished as Miami's leading scorer.

Martin's status is iffy for Saturday's game against the Timberwolves, but with Victor Oladipo (rest) out for the second half of the back-to-back set, Strus should be in store for double-digit minutes off the bench. Despite Strus' well-rounded stat line Friday, fantasy managers should view him mostly as a streaming option for three-pointers.

Duncan Robinson has been highly inconsistent thus far this season and so perhaps the thought process is that by bringing him off the bench, he can start to get his legs back under him. No matter his role, Strus is really just more of a streaming option when the Heat are fully healthy.

The third-year pro responded with a team-high 25 points, with much of his damage coming from beyond the three-point line. Strus also dished a career-high five assists and added six boards. He isn't likely to dish this many dimes often, but Strus had already proven himself to be a valuable contributor prior to his time in protocols, averaging 22.6 points, 5.2 boards and 4.8 triples over his previous five games. Even when Butler returns, Strus should see plenty of time on the court, giving him tangible fantasy value for managers looking for triples and points.

Strus will start in Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.

While the eventual return of Jimmy Butler will limit his opportunities, there is a world in which Strus actually sees more playing time than Duncan Robinson, and perhaps rightfully so.

When Goran Dragic returns, Strus may perform a disappearing act, but he's an interesting player to watch in the rotation.

Strus could remain in the rotation Thursday as the Heat continue to deal with a variety of absences. That said, his minutes haven't typically led to production. In 14.5 minutes per game this season, the sophomore is averaging 4.5 points and 1.5 rebounds.
