The former Xavier standout can be a reliable scoring weapon for the Mavs when given enough minutes, as evidenced during some stretches last season, but he hasn't been able to produce much in 2025-26. Even though his minutes have remained steady in the 25-minute range, Marshall has scored in double digits in just two of his nine outings off the bench.

Marshall currently sees a consistent 22-25 minutes off the bench and averages 7.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals. With Dereck Lively (knee) and Anthony Davis (calf) out, he may continue to play in this minutes range, but once one or both return those minutes may dwindle to accommodate.

As long as the aforementioned duo remains sidelined, Marshall should continue to garner plenty of opportunities.

However, despite the recent scoring surge, his minutes have fluctuated wildly, ranging from nine minutes in the previous game, all the way up to 27 in this one. For now, he should be viewed as a deeper league target.

Marshall ended Tuesday's 110-97 victory over Houston with 14 points (6-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals over 20 minutes.

With the Pelicans shorthanded due to the trade that sent out, notably, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Josh Hart, Marshall found himself in the rotation. He played well against the struggling Rockets, matching his season-high 14 points and filling out the rest of the stat sheet as well. Once the Pels' new pieces are available, Marshall will presumably return to a role not conducive to fantasy relevance.

Marshall will return to the parent club following a brief stint in the G League. He's averaged just 2.3 points in 3.0 minutes per game across four NBA appearances since Jan. 1.

Over his final four games, Marshall impressed with per-game averages of 15.5 points, 9.0 boards, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals.

The 23-year-old has now scored double-digit points in four straight games, a span in which he's averaging 14.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 30.9 minutes. Marshall has started and played well over his last five games in place of Brandon Ingram (ankle), which are trends that should continue as long as the latter remains out of the lineup. The rookie out of Xavier will look to keep up his productive play Sunday at home against the Lakers.
