Nicolas Batum Injury News & Updates
Keep up with the latest injuries from the L.A. Clippers vs Thunder game on Thursday with our National Basketball Association injury report.Dec 4, 2025
Adds two triples off bench
Batum amassed six points (2-4 FG, 2-4 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists across 20 minutes during Wednesday's 115-92 victory over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Batum's role as a three-point specialist for the Clippers off the bench has been consistent, as he averages 1.7 threes made on a scorching 50.0 percent clip in his last 10 games. However, Batum does not provide much fantasy value outside of threes made, and thus should not be rostered.
Nov 26, 2025
Records two steals in loss
Batum closed with six points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt), one rebound and two steals in 22 minutes during Tuesday's 135-118 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Batum hit multiple triples for the third straight game Tuesday and is averaging 2.2 threes on a blistering 54.2 percent clip in his last six games. However, while his efficiency has been great, the volume is simply not there for Batum to be under roster consideration in most fantasy leagues.
Nov 18, 2025
Scores season-high 11 points
Batum posted 11 points (3-7 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal in 21 minutes during Monday's 110-108 loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Batum saw at least 20 minutes for the sixth straight game, tallying a season-high 11 points. The fact that he is playing such a significant role highlights just how desperate things are in Los Angeles. Despite his current role, Batum should be viewed as nothing more than a potential streaming candidate, if and when the schedule is favorable.
Nov 8, 2025
Won't start Saturday
Batum is not in the Clippers' starting lineup against the Suns on Saturday, independent NBA writer Justin Russo reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum has started in each of the Clippers' last two games, but he'll come off the bench Saturday as James Harden (illness) returns from a one-game absence. Batum hasn't scored more than three points in each of the first eight games of the regular season.
Nov 4, 2025
Will start vs. OKC
Batum will be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Thunder, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will be in the first five due to Kawhi Leonard being ruled out for rest purposes. Batum will be joined by James Harden, Kris Dunn, Derrick Jones and Ivica Zubac in the starting lineup.
Oct 29, 2025
Sees 20 minutes
Batum finished Tuesday's 98-79 loss to Golden State with three points (1-4 FG, 1-4 3Pt), six rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Batum started the second half of this game in place of a struggling Bogdan Bogdanovic with Bradley Beal (back) still on the shelf. Batum is typically a low-usage role player, and at this point in his career, his upside is quite limited.
Oct 21, 2025
Will play season opener
Batum (rest) has been cleared to play in Wednesday's season opener against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Batum sat out of the preseason finale for rest purposes. He'll be available to play in the regular-season opener, but it remains to be seen how big his role will be and how that impacts his fantasy value.
Oct 17, 2025
Resting Friday
Batum (rest) will not suit up for Friday's preseason finale against the Warriors, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It's the final game of the preseason and Batum is entering his age-37 season, so he'll get a well-earned rest day. Expect more minutes for John Collins and Kobe Brown with Batum watching from the sidelines.
Jun 30, 2025
Sticking with Clippers
Batum agreed to a two-year, $11.5 million deal to return to the Clippers, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
ANALYSIS
Charania adds that the deal includes a team option for 2026-27, as well as a trade kicker. A return to Los Angeles always seemed inevitable for Batum, as he's spent a total of five seasons with the club. He was a valuable reserve for the team in 2024-25, posting regular-season averages of 4.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.1 three-pointers in 17.5 minutes per contest.
Jun 28, 2025
Entering free agency
Batum will decline his $4.9 million player option with the Clippers for the 2025-26 season and enter free agency, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Charania relays that there is mutual interest in a reunion between Batum and the Clippers, and a new deal could be reached at the start of free agency Monday. Batum played in 78 regular-season games (eight starts) during the 2024-25 campaign and averaged 17.5 minutes per game, but that number increased to 24.4 minutes per game during the Clippers' first-round series loss to the Nuggets. He finished that series averaging 5.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.7 blocks and 0.9 steals.
Apr 13, 2025
Out for season finale
Batum (groin) is out for Sunday's game against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss the regular-season finale due to the same injury that forced him to leave Wednesday's win over the Rockets, and that prevented him from playing Friday. The veteran Frenchman will aim to be ready for the start of the playoffs, although it's uncertain if the Clippers will earn a top-6 seed or if they'll end up playing in the Play-In Tournament.
Apr 10, 2025
Won't play vs. Sacramento
Batum (groin) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Kings, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After scoring 15 points in nine minutes during Wednesday's win against the Rockets, Batum will not be available Friday due to a sore groin. Batum's absence won't have much of an impact from a fantasy perspective, as he's averaging 4.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game this season.
Apr 10, 2025
Early exit Wednesday
Batum has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game against the Rockets due to right groin soreness, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will finish the contest with merely nine minutes played. However, he made up for the limited playing time with red-hot shooting, totaling 15 points (5-6 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to pair with three rebounds. The 36-year-old's next chance to play will come Friday at Sacramento. In the meantime, look for Drew Eubanks and Kobe Brown to see more minutes.
Apr 3, 2025
Muted performance in win
Batum accumulated three points (1-4 FG, 1-4 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and two steals in 14 minutes during Wednesday's 114-98 victory over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Batum has embraced a new role with the Clippers this season, as he doesn't see the floor as much as he used to for Los Angeles. Wednesday's win over the Pelicans was no different, with his two steals being the lone highlight in the box score.
Mar 16, 2025
Coming off bench Sunday
Batum is not in the Clippers' starting lineup against the Hornets on Sunday, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will cede his spot in the starting lineup to Derrick Jones. Batum started in the Clippers' last six games and averaged 9.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals over 28.3 minutes.
Mar 8, 2025
Pops for season-high 17
Batum finished with 17 points (6-9 FG, 5-7 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals over 34 minutes during Friday's 105-95 victory over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Making his second straight start with Norman Powell (hamstring) sidelined, Batum set a new season scoring high as he produced double-digit points for the first time since Feb. 2. The 36-year-old forward's 34 minutes and five made threes were also season highs, and he recorded multiple steals and blocks in the same game for the first time in nearly a calendar year. Powell isn't expected back for another week or more, but Batum may not be the player who consistently fills that spot and takes on an increased workload, as Bogdan Bogdanovic and Amir Coffer also figure to factor heavily into the wing rotation for the Clippers.
Mar 5, 2025
Starting Wednesday sans Leonard
Batum is in the Clippers' starting lineup against the Pistons on Wednesday, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will make his third start of the season Wednesday due to the absences of Kawhi Leonard (knee) and Derrick Jones (groin). Batum has averaged 3.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.9 steals over 14.3 minutes per game since the All-Star break.
Feb 26, 2025
Back to bench Wednesday
Batum is not in the starting lineup in Wednesday's game against Chicago, independent NBA writer Justin Russo reports.
ANALYSIS
Kawhi Leonard (foot) is back in the lineup Wednesday, so Batum is unsurprisingly coming off the bench. Over his last eight games from the second unit, the veteran forward has averaged 3.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.4 blocks in 15.1 minutes.
Feb 24, 2025
Starting Monday
Batum will start in Monday's game against Detroit, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran forward will receive the starting nod for the second time this season, pushing Derrick Jones to the bench. Batum has seen inconsistent playing time over his last five outings, during which he has averaged 2.4 points and 2.6 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per game.
Feb 14, 2025
Season-high 30 minutes in win
Batum posted six points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt), five rebounds and one block in 30 minutes during Thursday's 120-116 overtime win over Utah.
ANALYSIS
The veteran forward saw a season high in playing time with Kawhi Leonard (knee) and Amir Coffey (knee) sidelined during the overtime victory. Batum has appeared in six consecutive contests, averaging 3.8 points and 3.0 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per contest.
Feb 1, 2025
Fades injury report
Batum (illness) was not listed on Saturday's injury report and will be available for Sunday's game against the Raptors, independent NBA writer Justin Russo reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum did not play in the Clippers' 112-104 win over the Hornets on Friday due to an illness, but it appears he has recovered enough to play Sunday. The veteran forward averaged 2.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.9 steals over 15.0 minutes per game in January.
Jan 31, 2025
Downgraded to out
Batum (illness) won't play in Friday's game versus the Hornets, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss just his second game of the season Friday after being downgraded from questionable to out due to an illness. The veteran forward's next chance to suit up is Sunday's matchup with Toronto.
Jan 31, 2025
Late addition to injury report
Batum is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Hornets due to an illness, independent NBA writer Justin Russo reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum is in danger of missing Friday's contest after contracting an illness overnight. If the veteran forward is forced to sit out against Charlotte, Amir Coffey, Terance Mann and Mo Bamba are candidates to receive increased playing time.
Jan 23, 2025
Cleared to play Thursday
Batum (finger) has been cleared to play in Thursday's game against the Wizards, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum missed the first game of a back-to-back against the Celtics but will be available to play in the second leg Thursday against the visiting Wizards. The veteran forward has struggled this season, as he hasn't made much of an impact off the bench for Los Angeles, averaging career-low numbers across the board.
Jan 22, 2025
Out Wednesday
Batum (finger) is out for Wednesday's game against Boston, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Los Angeles will keep Batum out with a finger injury on the first leg of its back-to-back Wednesday, with the veteran forward's next chance to play coming Thursday against Washington. With the Clippers severely undermanned against the Celtics, role players such as Amir Coffey, Terance Mann and Kevin Porter will all have plenty of opportunities to step up versus the defending champions.
Jan 21, 2025
Iffy for Wednesday
Batum (finger) has been listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Celtics, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum could be in line to miss Wednesday's matchup with Boston, which would be his first missed game this season with the Clippers. The veteran forward is having arguably the worst season of his career in the NBA, as he's seen his playing time go down along with his averages across the board.
Jan 21, 2025
Scoreless in 18 minutes
Batum provided zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 18 minutes during Monday's 112-99 loss to Chicago.
ANALYSIS
The Clippers were missing Ivica Zubac (eye) on Tuesday, but the big man is considered day-to-day. Mo Bamba drew the start and played 15 minutes, as the Clippers utilized some smaller lineups that benefitted Amir Coffey (33 minutes) and Kobe Brown (11 minutes). Batum's fantasy appeal is non-existent in most formats.
Jan 1, 2025
Steady decline continues
Batum finished with zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and three rebounds in 13 minutes during Tuesday's 122-86 loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Father Time may be catching up with Batum, who hasn't made much of an impact on the Clippers this season. The French import is averaging a career-low 3.5 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, shooting 38.8 percent from the floor, which might make it hard for head coach Tyronn Lue to keep giving him minutes moving forward.
Dec 24, 2024
Sees 28 minutes off bench
Batum finished Monday's 114-110 victory over Memphis with six points (2-2 FG, 2-2 3Pt), five rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 28 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Batum saw a season-high 28 minutes in the win. He's been very quiet on the stat sheet for most of the season, however, reaching double figures just once in 30 appearances. Fantasy managers will likely want to look for more upside elsewhere.
Dec 16, 2024
Back in bench role
Batum isn't starting Monday's game against the Jazz, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum drew a spot start Friday against the Nuggets but failed to do much with the opportunity, finishing with six points, one rebound and three steals in 22 minutes. Amir Coffey will get the start at power forward Monday while Derrick Jones continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
Dec 13, 2024
Promoted to starting role
Batum is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Nuggets, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Clippers have been forced to tweak their starting lineup due to the hamstring injury sustained by Derrick Jones, and Batum will take his place in the lineup, at least until Kawhi Leonard (knee) is ready to return. Batum has averaged 3.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.3 steals per game across 17.8 minutes per game off the bench this season.
Nov 19, 2024
Notches nine points
Batum contributed nine points (3-6 FG, 3-5 3Pt) and three rebounds over 20 minutes during Monday's 102-99 victory over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Batum recorded season highs in both points (9) and three-pointers (3) as the Clippers picked up their second straight win. Batum has averaged just 16.9 minutes per contest in 15 appearances, however, so fantasy managers should look elsewhere for someone with a better path to value.
Nov 1, 2024
Solid defensive showing in loss
Batum provided three points (1-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt), five rebounds, four blocks and three assists across 21 minutes during Thursday's 125-119 loss to Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
After tallying just one block over his first four regular-season outings, Batum swatted away four shots Thursday. The 35-year-old has seen fairly significant run off the bench thus far, and he has played 20-plus minutes in three of the Clippers' five games. Batum is averaging 3.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 stocks across 19.0 minutes per game.
Oct 23, 2024
Coming off the bench
Batum is not in Wednesday's starting lineup versus Phoenix, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum logged preseason action in the starting lineup, however he will retreat to the second unit with Derrick Jones starting at power forward. Batum averaged 6.1 points and 3.8 rebounds while connecting on 39.1 percent of 4.1 threes per game in 21.9 minutes per night during his 2022-23 season with the Clippers.
Oct 17, 2024
Starting vs. Sacramento
Batum is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason game against the Kings, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports.
ANALYSIS
The Clippers will tweak their lineup for the preseason finale, and Batum will handle one of the forward spots. Bones Hyland, Norman Powell, Terance Mann and Ivica Zubac form the rest of the starting five.
Oct 15, 2024
Tallies four defensive stats
Batum scored zero points (0-1 FG), adding three rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in 18 minutes during Monday's preseason win over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Now in the twilight of his career, Batum's role on this Clippers team is going to be muted, to say the least. He should be an every-night part of the rotation but is likely to be limited to about 20 minutes per night. At best, he could be utilized for streaming purposes if and when the Clippers are dealing with injuries or the schedule is highly favorable.
Jul 27, 2024
Puts up 19 in win over Brazil
Batum posted 19 points (6-13 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists and two steals across 34 minutes in France's 78-66 win over Brazil in the Paris Olympics on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Batum heavily contributed in the scoring column while picking up significant minutes in Saturday's win. The 35-year-old is competing in his fourth Olympic Games, and his veteran presence will play an important role in France's Olympic campaign. The 16-year NBA vet played in 57 regular-season games for the 76ers last season, during which he averaged 5.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists across 25.8 minutes.
Jul 1, 2024
Agrees to deal with Clippers
Batum and the Clippers agreed to a two-year, $9.6 million deal Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum had a strong market in free agency including some reported interest from the Spurs, but the veteran opted to return to a familiar franchise. Batum spent four seasons with the Clippers prior to joining the 76ers in 2023-24, and he will provide the team with some quality depth at both forward positions despite his advanced age.
Jun 30, 2024
Parting ways with Philadelphia
Batum doesn't plan to return to the 76ers in free agency, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will hit free agency following a season in which he appeared in 60 games including 38 starts. Batum saw a significant role in the playoffs, averaging 6.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 28.3 minutes per game during Philadelphia's first-round matchup against the Knicks, proving he still can add value to a team. As such, the 36-year-old pro will likely receive some interest in free agency.
Apr 26, 2024
Significant role yields very little
Batum provided four points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 29 minutes during Thursday's 125-114 victory over the Knicks in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
Batum continues to do very little despite playing meaningful minutes, highlighting the 76ers' lack of depth. Although he did manage three combined steals and blocks, they would love for him to have scored more than four points. Given they have very few options when it comes to somewhat reliable producers, Batum should continue to play a significant role moving forward.
Apr 18, 2024
Shines off bench Wednesday
Batum provided 20 points (7-12 FG, 6-10 3Pt), five rebounds and one block in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 105-104 Play-In Game victory over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
It was widely known that Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey were going to carry the Sixers in this matchup against the Heat, but the truth is that Philadelphia wouldn't have gotten the win hadn't it been for Batum's impressive effort off the bench. The 20-point output was a season-high mark for the veteran, and even though his role is not going to change drastically in the first-round matchup against New York, he should continue to see decent minutes on a regular basis. Perhaps surprisingly, he went scoreless in the four times he faced the Knicks during the regular season.
Apr 12, 2024
Back to bench
Batum isn't starting Friday's game against the Magic, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will retreat to a bench role as Philly's starting five has returned to full strength. He's averaging 10.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in his last four appearances as a reserve.
Apr 7, 2024
Late add to first unit
Batum is now listed as the Sixers starting small forward against the Spurs, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum was initially set to come off the bench for the Shorthanded 76ers but has replaced Buddy Hield in the starting five for unknown reasons. The veteran forward has started each of Philadelphia's last two games, averaging 4.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists over 26.5 minutes.
Apr 7, 2024
Will come off bench Sunday
Batum will come off the bench in Sunday's game against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
The 76ers will tweak their lineup for this matchup against San Antonio, and aside from being without Joel Embiid (knee) and Kyle Lowry (rest), Batum will also come off the bench. This means Paul Reed and Kelly Oubre will play in the frontcourt. Buddy Hield, Cameron Payne and Tyrese Maxey round out the rest of the lineup.
Apr 6, 2024
Good to go Saturday
Batum (foot) will play Saturday against the Grizzlies, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum could see extra minutes Saturday, as Tobias Harris is out with a knee contusion. Batum is averaging 5.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists over his last nine appearances.
Apr 6, 2024
Added to injury report
Batum is listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus the Grizzlies due to left foot soreness.
ANALYSIS
Batum is in danger of missing Saturday's contest after being a late addition to the injury report with a foot injury. With Tobias Harris (knee) also questionable, Buddy Hield and KJ Martin could see increased playing time against Memphis.
Apr 4, 2024
Returns to starting unit
Batum is in the starting lineup to face the Heat on Thursday, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will move to the starting unit due to the absence of Tobias Harris (knee). Batum is averaging 5.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists across 26.1 minutes per game across his 34 starts this season.
Mar 27, 2024
Not starting Wednesday
Batum will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Kelly Oubre (shoulder) is back and starting, so Batum will shift to a reserve role. As a member of the second unit this season, Batum owns averages of 3.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and not much else on 35.5 percent shooting.
Mar 25, 2024
Running with first unit
Batum is starting Monday night against the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Kelly Oubre (shoulder) was announced out shortly before tipoff, so it'll be Batum who takes his place in the starting five. He's started three of his team's last four contests but hasn't cracked double figures in scoring since March 6 against the Grizzlies.
Mar 22, 2024
Back to bench
Batum will return to a reserve role for Friday's game versus the Lakers, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will return to the bench, as Tobias Harris (ankle) is back in the starting lineup. The veteran has averaged 4.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 21.8 minutes in 15 games as a reserve this season.
Mar 17, 2024
Busy on defense in Saturday's start
Batum accumulated eight points (3-7 FG, 2-6 3Pt), eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and three steals over 37 minutes during Saturday's 109-98 win over Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
It was a vintage performance from Batum, who at his peak a decade ago was a consistent multi-category contributor without being a primary offensive threat. The 35-year-old forward was getting the start with Tobias Harris (ankle) sidelined, but Harris' injury isn't thought to be serious. Batum has played at least 20 minutes in his last nine games, but he's averaged just 4.8 points, 5.3 boards, 2.3 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.9 threes and 0.8 blocks over that stretch while shooting a poor 30.6 percent from the floor and 23.5 percent from beyond the arc.
Mar 16, 2024
Set to start Saturday
Batum is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game versus the Hornets, Gina Mizell of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will replace Tobias Harris (ankle) in the starting five Saturday. Batum is averaging 3.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 23.0 minutes across his last five starting appearances.
Mar 9, 2024
Available Sunday
Batum (foot) is good to go for Sunday's matchup with the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Batum is coming off a one-game absence, and figures to see his usual workload assuming he avoids any setbacks. The veteran forward has averaged 6.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks across 26.3 minutes in his previous six games.
Mar 8, 2024
Ruled out Friday
Batum (foot) won't play in Friday's game versus the Pelicans, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum has been downgraded from questionable to available Friday due to left foot soreness. KJ Martin and Kelly Oubre will likely receive increased playing time in his absence. Batum's next chance to suit up is Sunday's matchup with the Knicks.
Mar 8, 2024
Late addition to injury report
Batum is now listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Pelicans due to left foot soreness.
ANALYSIS
After starting in Philadelphia's previous outing, Batum is now in danger of missing Friday's contest. If the veteran forward is ruled out, KJ Martin and Kelly Oubre are candidates to receive increased playing time.
Mar 6, 2024
Starting against Grizzlies
Batum will enter the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Batum will step into the first unit alongside Cameron Payne, Buddy Hield, Tobias Harris and Paul Reed. In his last three games, Batum is averaging 5.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists across 30.0 minutes.
Mar 3, 2024
Pounds glass in gritty win
Batum finished with seven points (2-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals in 31 minutes during Sunday's 120-116 win over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Batum didn't offer any efficient scoring, but his defensive contributions and rebounding were critical. The 35-year-old entered the victory having knocked down 44.1 percent of 2.8 threes per game, but Sunday represented Batum's season-high in shot attempts -- symbolizing his low-usage role.
Feb 27, 2024
Coming off bench
Batum will come off the bench for Tuesday's game against Boston, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports.
ANALYSIS
Kelly Oubre will move into the first unit for the 76ers. This move makes a lot of sense, as the 76ers are expecting to limit Batum to 15-25 minutes because he's coming off an injury.
Feb 27, 2024
Operating on restriction
Batum will log 15-25 minutes of action Tuesday against Boston, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum's workload has been strictly monitored of late, sitting in the second half of a back-to-back Friday while logging a combined 35 minutes across two appearances after the All-Star break. He continues anchoring a starting role, however, running with the first unit in 15 consecutive appearances.
Feb 25, 2024
Will start Sunday
Batum will start Sunday's game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Batum returned to action Thursday versus the Knicks after missing nine straight games heading into the All-Star break due to a hamstring injury. He started that contest but played just 18 minutes and was held scoreless. He was deemed available for the second half of Philadelphia's back-to-back set Friday versus Cleveland, but he didn't start and wasn't used off the bench. While Batum is back in the starting lineup Sunday, his role may remain limited.
Feb 23, 2024
Coming off bench
Batum (hamstring) will come off the bench for Friday's game against the Cavaliers, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum was carrying a questionable tag into this game, but he's listed as available to play. However, the 76ers are opting to roll with Kelly Oubre in the starting lineup Friday evening.
Feb 23, 2024
Set to play against Cleveland
Batum (hamstring) is available for Friday's game versus the Cavaliers, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum has been upgraded from questionable to available Friday despite dealing with a nagging hamstring strain. The veteran forward logged 18 minutes in his previous appearance and will likely receive a similar workload against Cleveland.
Feb 23, 2024
Iffy for Friday
Batum (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Batum returned to action Thursday after sitting out the previous nine contests with a left hamstring strain. However, Philadelphia could opt to hold out the veteran forward on the second leg of their back-to-back Friday.
Feb 23, 2024
Gets minimal usage in return
Batum (hamstring) didn't attempt a field goal and recorded three rebounds and one assist in Thursday's 110-96 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Batum hasn't been a high-usage player for years, but he was especially passive on the offensive end in his return from a nine-game absence due to a hamstring strain. He took on a 2.4 percent usage rate on the night, the lowest among all the 76ers' rotation players. Now that he's healthy again, Batum looks like he'll occupy a starting role at forward alongside Tobias Harris, but the former could end up settling into a 20-to-25-minute role and likely profiles only as a deep-league option. Batum can't be relied upon for consistent scoring, but he's an efficient perimeter shooter and is capable of contributing in both of the defensive categories.
Feb 22, 2024
Available for Thursday's game
Batum (hamstring) is available for Thursday's game against New York, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum hasn't suited up since late January, but he resumed practicing before the All-Star break and has been cleared to return to game action as the 76ers resume play Thursday. Over 13 appearances in January, he averaged 5.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 26.7 minutes per game.
Feb 21, 2024
Questionable for Thursday
Batum (hamstring) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Batum got through Wednesday's practice, so he appears to be in the final stages of rehab from the hamstring injury. We should get another update following Thursday's shootaround, but if he can get back out there, he will likely siphon away some minutes from KJ Martin and Kelly Oubre.
Feb 21, 2024
Goes through practice
Batum (hamstring) practiced in full Wednesday, Lauren Rosen of the 76ers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum last played for the 76ers on Jan. 29, but he was able to practice prior to the All-Star break. Depending on how he responds in the morning, Batum could return for Thursday's game against the Knicks.
Feb 13, 2024
Remaining sidelined Wednesday
Batum is out for Wednesday's game against Miami.
ANALYSIS
Batum's next opportunity to take the court will come Feb. 22 against New York following the upcoming All-Star break. KJ Martin and potentially Ricky Council will be leaned on in the forward rotation Wednesday.
Feb 13, 2024
Puts in partial practice
Head coach Nick Nurse said Batum (hamstring) was a partial participant in Tuesday's practice, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum has been practicing with the 76ers in some fashion for more than a week, but he apparently hasn't made enough progress in his recovery from the left hamstring injury to gain clearance for full participation. Nurse didn't reveal Batum's official status for Wednesday's contest against the Heat, but since that game marks the 76ers' last one before the All-Star break, the veteran forward will most likely sit out and take advantage of the extended period of rest coming up.
Feb 11, 2024
Another absence coming
Batum (hamstring) will not play in Monday's game against Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Batum is set for his eighth consecutive absence. The 35-year-old has not taken the court since Jan. 29 as he continues healing from a left hamstring strain.
Feb 10, 2024
Out again
Batum (hamstring) will not play in Saturday's matchup with the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Batum's absence will mark his seventh straight game sidelined due to a hamstring issue. His next opportunity to make his return will come Monday in Cleveland.
Feb 8, 2024
Remains out Friday
Batum (hamstring) won't play in Friday's gam versus the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Batum's absence streak will extend to six games Friday due to a hamstring injury. The veteran forward's next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with Washington.
Feb 6, 2024
Inactive for Wednesday
Batum (hamstring) will not play Wednesday versus Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Batum is set to miss a fifth consecutive game due to left hamstring soreness. Kelly Oubre, Marcus Morris and, to a lesser extent, Danuel House will likely continue seeing increased usage.
Feb 4, 2024
Absence to continue Monday
Batum (hamstring) will not play Monday versus Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss his fourth consecutive game due to a left hamstring strain. His next opportunity to take the court comes Wednesday versus Golden State. Kelly Oubre, Marcus Morris and Kenyon Martin are main candidates to absorb his usage in what could be a small-ball oriented affair.
Feb 4, 2024
Limited during Sunday's practice
Batum (hamstring) was limited during Sunday's practice, Austin Krell of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum has missed three straight games. His return to limited practice is a good sign, but he may still have a few hurdles to clear before returning to game action. Batum's status for Monday's matchup versus Dallas should be released Sunday night.
Feb 3, 2024
Will not play Saturday
Batum (hamstring) will not play in Saturday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss his third straight game for the 76ers, but he remains day-to-day. With Tobias Harris (illness) also out, the 76ers will need Danuel House and Marcus Morris to step up, both of whom are starting.
Feb 2, 2024
Deemed questionable for Saturday
Batum (hamstring) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Batum has missed the last two games due to a hamstring issue, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to suit up against Brooklyn. If he's sidelined once again, Danuel House, Forkan Korkmaz and Kenyon Martin are candidates to see additional minutes.
Feb 1, 2024
Out for Thursday
Batum (hamstring) has been ruled out for Thursday's game in Utah.
ANALYSIS
Batum is set to miss his second straight game, which should result in additional opportunities for Danuel House, Furkan Korkmaz and Kenyon Martin. Baton's next chance to play will come Saturday against the Nets.
Jan 31, 2024
Questionable for Thursday
Batum (hamstring) is questionable for Thursday's game versus the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
The hamstring injury forced Batum to the sidelines Tuesday, which resulted in Danuel House getting a spot-start and there were more minutes available for Furkan Korkmaz and KJ Martin. It'll be more of the same if he's out again Thursday evening.
Jan 30, 2024
Won't play Tuesday
Batum (hamstring) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Warriors, Austin Krell of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum played 24 minutes during Monday's blowout loss to Portland and will take a seat for the second half of a back-to-back set, marking his first absence since Dec. 29. Marcus Morris (foot) and Joel Embiid (knee) are both questionable, so Phildelphia's frontcourt may be depleted versus Golden State.
Jan 30, 2024
Subpar effort in loss
Batum ended with three points (1-5 FG, 1-4 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist over 24 minutes during Monday's 130-104 loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
The team sorely needed production from Batum with Joel Embiid (knee) and Tyrese Maxey (ankle) sidelined, but he underperformed for the second consecutive game. He registered zero points Sunday evening against the Nuggets, and has only compiled double-digit scoring totals twice In January.
Jan 23, 2024
Records three steals
Batum had five points (2-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt), eight rebounds, six assists and three steals in 33 minutes during Monday's 133-123 win over San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
Batum has scored in double digits just once in January, but he's been effective elsewhere on the stat sheet. Over his last 10 games, Batum holds averages of 5.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.2 blocks, 1.1 steals and 1.2 three-pointers.
Jan 2, 2024
Will remain on minutes limit
Coach Nick Nurse said Batum (hamstring) will remain on a minutes restriction during Tuesday's game against the Bulls, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum returned to action Saturday following a five-game absence due to a right hamstring strain, posting nine points (3-5 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes during a loss to the Bulls. He should garner a similar role during a rematch against Chicago on Tuesday.
Dec 31, 2023
Drills three triples in return
Batum (hamstring) provided nine points (3-6 FG, 3-5 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists in Saturday's 105-92 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Before missing the 76ers' previous five games with a right hamstring strain, Batum had made each of his last 14 appearances as a starter, but he came off the bench Saturday. Even if he eventually unseats Kelly Oubre for a spot on the top unit once he's further removed from the hamstring injury, Batum likely won't warrant much intrigue outside of 14-team leagues or deeper. During his recent run as a starter, Batum averaged 6.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.4 three-pointers, 0.6 blocks and 0.5 steals in 25.3 minutes while shooting 53.6 percent from the field.
Dec 28, 2023
Ruled out for Friday
Batum (hamstring) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Rockets, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum continues to deal with a right hamstring strain that will force him to miss a fifth consecutive game, but the 76ers hope he'll be able to return to action Saturday against the Bulls. It's unclear whether he'll face a minutes restriction if he's given the green light Saturday. Kelly Oubre, Marcus Morris and Robert Covington are candidates to see increased roles once again Friday.
Dec 26, 2023
Won't play Wednesday
Batum (hamstring) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game in Orlando, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss a fourth straight game due to a right hamstring strain. Kelly Oubre, Marcus Morris and Robert Covington are candidates for increased roles until Batum returns.
Dec 24, 2023
Won't play Monday
Batum (hamstring) is out for Monday's game against Miami.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss his third straight game due to a right hamstring strain, and he doesn't appear overly close to returning since he was unable to practice leading up to his inactive status. The 35-year-old will be sidelined for what is perhaps the final Christmas Day game of his career.
Dec 23, 2023
Sits out practice
Batum (hamstring) didn't practice Saturday, Austin Krell of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum has missed a pair of games with a strained right hamstring and was unable to participate in Saturday's practice. However, as Krell reported, the Sixers didn't do much at practice, so Batum's absence could have been precautionary. Regardless, Batum will have a couple of days to rest before Philadelphia travels to Miami to visit the Heat on Monday.
Dec 21, 2023
Remains out Friday
Batum (hamstring) won't play in Friday's game versus the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss his second straight game Friday while dealing with a right hamstring injury. Kelly Oubre will likely continue to start in his absence. Batum's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Miami.
Dec 21, 2023
Doesn't practice Thursday
Batum (hamstring) didn't participate in Thursday's practice session, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum was unavailable for Wednesday's game against Minnesota due to a right hamstring injury. Coach Nick Nurse said he expects Batum to miss a couple of days, so it isn't very surprising to see him sitting out Thursday's practice session. While Batum's injury is considered relatively minor, his status for Friday's game against Toronto certainly seems to be in jeopardy.
Dec 19, 2023
Ruled out Wednesday
Batum will not play in Wednesday's game against Minnesota due to a right hamstring issue, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Nick Nurse said he expects Batum to miss a couple days, but he added that it's a minor setback. Batum should be considered questionable to return for Friday's game against the Raptors. Robert Covington and Marcus Morris are candidates to see increased run Wednesday, but they are both questionable due to illness.
Dec 6, 2023
Starting Wednesday
Batum (finger) will start Wednesday against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Batum missed Friday's loss to Boston due to a finger injury but was a full participant during Friday's practice and will return to the starting lineup Wednesday. Across his last six starts, Batum has averaged 7.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 blocks in 26.1 minutes per game.
Dec 4, 2023
Goes through practice
Batum (finger) practiced in full Monday, Noah Levick of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum sat out Friday's game against the Celtics, but he'll be good to go for Wednesday's outing against the Wizards. The 76ers will be at full strength Wednesday, so Batum's usage rate will be minimal.
Dec 1, 2023
Will not play
Ky Carlin of USA TodayBatum (finger) will not play in Friday's game against the Celtics, Ky Carlin reports.
ANALYSIS
This is a surprise, as Batum was previously listed as probable. Marcus Morris will replace Batum in the lineup, and he could see plenty of shots Friday with both Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid sidelined due to illness.
Nov 30, 2023
Expected to play against Boston
Batum (finger) is probable for Friday's game versus the Cetlics, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite suffering a right finger injury in Wednesday's contest, Batum isn't expected to miss any further time. The veteran forward has started in his last seven appearances for Philadelphia.
Nov 30, 2023
Full-go in practice
Batum (finger) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum left Wednesday's game versus the Pelicans early due to an injury to his right index finger. However, his full participation in practice is a good sign of his availability for Friday's matchup with Boston.
Nov 29, 2023
Won't return Wednesday
Batum has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game versus the Pelicans due to an injury to his right index finger, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum recorded three points and one rebound in 14 minutes before exiting Wednesday's contest. Robert Covington and KJ Martin are candidates to receive extended minutes in his absence. Batum's status for Friday's matchup with Boston is uncertain.
Nov 26, 2023
Drains three treys Saturday
Batum finished Saturday's 127-123 victory over the Thunder with 14 points (4-7 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Batum holds a secondary role on offense for the 76ers, but he's making the most of his opportunities since being moved to a starting role. The veteran sharpshooter can help fantasy teams as a waiver pickup who could be particularly useful in category-based leagues. Batum has started in each of his last five appearances, and even though he's averaging just 7.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in that span, he's also shooting 50 percent from deep.
Nov 19, 2023
Will start Sunday
Batum (personal) will start Sunday's contest against the Nets, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will return to the starting lineup after missing three straight games due to personal reasons, which will send Robert Covington to a bench role. In his lone start for Philadelphia, Batum posted nine points (3-5 FG), seven rebounds, three blocks and one steal in 33 minutes.
Nov 18, 2023
Set to return against Brooklyn
Batum (personal) isn't on the injury report for Sunday's game versus the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Batum will be available Sunday after missing the previous three contests due to personal reasons. The veteran forward is averaging 7.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 25.5 minutes across his first four appearances with Philadelphia this season.
Nov 16, 2023
Remains out Friday
Batum (personal) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Batum continues to tend to a personal matter and will be unavailable for a third consecutive game. Robert Covington and Marcus Morris should see increased run once again Friday.
Nov 15, 2023
Still out Wednesday
Batum (personal) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Batum missed Tuesday's game against the Pacers due to personal reasons and will also be sidelined for the second half of the back-to-back set. His next chance to suit up will be Friday against Atlanta, while Marcus Morris could see increased run once again Wednesday.
Nov 13, 2023
Won't play Tuesday
Batum won't play Tuesday against the Pacers due to personal reasons.
ANALYSIS
Batum moved into the starting lineup Sunday with Kelly Oubre (ribs) sidelined, but the veteran forward will now miss the front end of Philadelphia's upcoming back-to-back set. It's unclear if Batum will return to the team in time for Wednesday's matchup against Boston, but Robert Covington, Marcus Morris and Danuel House are candidates for slightly increased bench role in Batum's absence.
Nov 13, 2023
Posts diverse line in big minutes
Batum finished with nine points (3-5 FG, 3-5 3Pt), seven rebounds, three blocks and one steal across 33 minutes Sunday in the 76ers' 137-126 win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
After coming off the bench in each of his first three appearances with the 76ers upon being acquired from the Clippers in late October, Batum entered the starting five in place of Kelly Oubre (ribs), who is expected to miss extended time. Head coach Nick Nurse pumped plenty of minutes into Batum, who responded by providing quality defensive numbers in addition to serving as a knockdown shooter on the perimeter. Batum's usage sat at a lowly 6.9 percent for the contest, and even if he continues to see heavy minutes as a starter, offensive touches may be few and far between while the likes of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris are all healthy and available. Batum could still represent a solid streaming option for defensive stats and three-pointers in deeper leagues if he continues to stick as a 30-plus-minute player.
Nov 12, 2023
Will start Sunday
Batum will start Sunday's contest against the Pacers, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will start in place of Kelly Oubre (ribs). In three appearances with Philadelphia, Batum has averaged 6.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 23.0 minutes per game. Robert Covington and Marcus Morris could also play increased roles in Oubre's absence.
Nov 10, 2023
Good to go Friday
Batum (finger) is available for Friday's game versus Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Batum has been upgraded from probable to available Friday despite dealing with a finger injury. The veteran forward should continue to be one of Philadelphia's primary options off the bench at the forward position.
Nov 9, 2023
Expected to play against Detroit
Batum is probable for Thursday's game versus the Pistons due a right finger sprain.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear when Batum suffered his injury, but it isn't expected to keep him out of Thursday's contest. The veteran forward is averaging 8.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 22.0 minutes across his first two appearances with the 76ers.
Nov 7, 2023
Utilized in debut
Batum finished with 11 points (4-5 FG, 3-4 3Pt), two rebounds and one steal across 17 minutes during Monday's 146-128 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Batum functioned as Philadelphia's sixth man in Monday's victory and would have logged a slightly larger minutes total if the game wasn't locked up by the end of the third quarter. The 34-year-old is firmly off fantasy radar, but his presence lessens usage for Paul Reed and Jaden Springer as well.
Nov 5, 2023
Rejoins team, should play Monday
Batum (personal) returned to Philadelphia on Sunday and is expected to make his team debut Monday against the Wizards, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
One of four forwards the 76ers acquired Tuesday in the deal that sent James Harden and P.J. Tucker to the Clippers, Batum will give Philadelphia a full 15-man roster heading into the start of the team's four-game week. With head coach Nick Nurse having thus far stuck with De'Anthony Melton and Kelly Oubre as the team's new starters in place of Harden and Tucker, Batum looks as though he'll be limited to a bench role if he's included in the rotation Monday.
Nov 3, 2023
Remains out Saturday
Batum (personal) won't play in Saturday's game versus the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss his second straight game Saturday for personal reasons after being traded from the Clippers to the 76ers. His next chance to suit up will be Monday's matchup with Washington.
Nov 1, 2023
Won't play Thursday
Batum won't play in Thursday's game against the Raptors for personal reasons.
ANALYSIS
Batum, who was traded to Philadelphia as part of the blockbuster deal that sent James Harden to the Clippers, won't be available to make his Clippers debut Wednesday. However, Marcus Morris, Robert Covington and Kenyon Martin will suit up. Batum was planning to retire following the 2023-24 campaign, but the trade may have sped up that timeline. It's currently unclear when Batum will be available again.
Oct 31, 2023
Traded to Philly
Batum, Marcus Morris, Robert Covington and Kenyon Martin were traded from the Clippers to the 76ers on Tuesday in exchange for James Harden, P.J. Tucker and Filip Petrusev, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum struggled to generate much production off the bench for the Clippers early this season, and he averaged 2.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in 18.0 minutes per game over three appearances. However, he'll now attempt to carve out a role with the 76ers, who acquired several frontcourt options as part of Tuesday's move. In recent seasons, the 34-year-old hasn't seen his averages of 30-plus minutes per game that he saw earlier in his career, but it's possible he bounces back slightly after his role declined over the past two years.
Oct 20, 2023
Will begin season as reserve
Batum will start the 2023-24 regular season as a reserve, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports.
ANALYSIS
Terance Mann was named the starting power forward, so Batum, Robert Covington and Marcus Morris will compete for backup minutes. Last year, Batum made 59 appearances off the bench and averaged 5.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals-plus-blocks in 20.4 minutes per game.
Oct 19, 2023
Coming off bench
Batum will come off the bench for Thursday's preseason game against the Nuggets, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Clippers have yet to name their starting power forward for Opening Night, but Batum and Robert Covington are presumably still in the mix. Meanwhile, Marcus Morris appears to be the odd man out.
Oct 16, 2023
Will start Tuesday
Batum will start Tuesday's preseason game against Denver, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
The Clippers are still trying to figure out who'll start at power forward this season. Terance Mann started the preseason opener, Robert Covington started the second exhibition and now it's Batum's turn. Kenyon Martin and Marcus Morris are also in the conversation. Batum started 19 games last year and averaged 7.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals-plus-blocks during those contests.
Oct 11, 2023
Scores seven off bench
Batum tallied seven points (3-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt), three rebounds and one steal in 16 minutes during Tuesday's 103-98 preseason win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Batum sat out Sunday's preseason opener for rest purposes but was back in action Tuesday. He had a decent stat line off the bench but should have an opportunity to increase his workload as the regular season approaches.
Oct 8, 2023
Out Sunday
Batum (rest) won't play in Sunday's preseason matchup against the Jazz, Joey Linn of Sports Illustrated reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will have the night off to start the preseason. The 16th-year veteran will likely see limited action in the preseason.
Apr 22, 2023
Heading to bench
Batum isn't in the starting five for Game 4 versus the Suns on Saturday, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will be replaced by Marcus Morris in the starting five Saturday. Batum is averaging 1.0 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 19.7 minutes across the first three games this serious. He is shooting just 12.5 percent from the field over that span, likely prompting his demotion from the starting unit. However, with Kawhi Leonard (knee) out, he should still have a significant workload.
Apr 10, 2023
Offers little despite start
Batum closed with zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist and one block across 21 minutes during Sunday's 119-114 victory over the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Batum started and played 21 minutes Sunday, and yet failed to produce anything close to 12-team value. While he has been able to pop off for a handful of voluminous scoring games, Batum's days of being a fantasy-relevant asset are well and truly behind him. He will continue to play a key role for the Clippers heading into the playoffs but the team will be hoping he isn't called upon to do too much heavy lifting.
Apr 2, 2023
Ugly night Saturday
Batum ended Saturday's 122-114 loss to the Pelicans with two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds and three assists across 24 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Batum remained in the starting lineup Saturday, although once again came up well short when it comes to tangible fantasy production. Despite being declared the starter moving forward, Batum is certainly a player to target outside of deeper formats. While he can occasionally turn the clock back, he is too inconsistent to be trusted as a productive asset.
Mar 28, 2023
Red hot from downtown Monday
Batum tallied 24 points (8-10 FG, 8-10 3Pt), five assists, three rebounds and two steals over 31 minutes in Monday's 124-112 win over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Batum stepped into the starting lineup Monday with Marcus Morris (illness) unable to play, and the veteran came through with his best game of the campaign. Batum posted a season-high scoring total, notching all of his points -- and taking all of his shots -- from beyond the arc. His eight triples were one below his career-best total and marked the third time this season he has drained seven or more three-pointers in a game. Batum's performance Monday could prove to be a difference-maker for savvy fantasy managers who elected to pick him up for the first day of championship week, but there should be no expectation that he'll be able to replicate this performance in any of the Clippers' remaining three contests this week.
Mar 28, 2023
To step into starting role
Batum will remain a starter for the remainder of the regular season, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum drew a spot start in place of Marcus Morris (illness) Monday evening, and he erupted for 24 points on eight made triples. It appears head coach Ty Lue is determined to stick with Batum down the stretch of the 2022-23 campaign at power forward, bumping Morris to a bench role.
Mar 27, 2023
Starting Monday
Batum is starting Monday's contest against the Bulls, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Marcus Morris (illness) unavailable, Batum will draw his 13th start of the season for the Clippers. The veteran forward has averaged 7.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 27.9 minutes per game across his outings as a starter this season.
Mar 26, 2023
Increased usage looms
Batum totaled 13 points (4-6 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal in 20 minutes during Saturday's 131-110 loss to New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Batum played well in the blowout loss, and if Kawhi Leonard's (face) injury forces him to miss a few games, Batum will emerge as the primary beneficiary. A potential Leonard loss is a lethal combination with Paul George (leg), who is unavailable through the end of the season, making Batum instrumental in an effort to keep pace in the playoff hunt.
Mar 24, 2023
Scores 12 in victory
Batum closed Thursday's 127-105 victory over Oklahoma City with 12 points (4-6 FG, 4-6 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists and two steals in 19 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Batum was held below 10 points in his seven appearances prior to Thursday's matchup, but he was efficient from beyond the arc during the comfortable win over the Thunder. He's scored in double figures just twice this month, averaging 4.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 20.1 minutes per game.
Mar 16, 2023
Scores six off bench
Batum ended with six points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt), two assists and two steals in 20 minutes during Wednesday's 134-126 win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Batum has returned to a bench role over the last four matchups and has had a limited role in those appearances. He saw a slight uptick in scoring Wednesday but has still averaged just 2.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 17.0 minutes per game over his last four outings.
Mar 3, 2023
Set to start against Sacramento
Batum is in the starting lineup for Friday's game versus the Kings, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will replace Kawhi Leonard (rest) in the starting five Friday. The 33-year-old forward is averaging 7.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 27.1 minutes across his 11 starts this season.
Feb 25, 2023
Stellar line in elevated minutes
Batum finished Friday's 176-175 double-overtime loss to the Kings with 19 points (7-12 FG, 5-10 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The two extra periods helped prop up Batum's minutes count, but he was well on his way to finishing with a productive fantasy line by the end of regulation. That being said, the Clippers were without starting center Ivica Zubac (calf), which had a hand in Batum seeing more run than usual behind fill-in starter Mason Plumlee as a small-ball option at the position. In his previous five games before Friday, Batum had averaged 4.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 three-pointers, 0.8 blocks and 0.6 steals in 20.4 minutes, so fantasy managers are probably best off not drawing any grand conclusions from his performance against the Kings.
Feb 10, 2023
Available Friday
Batum (back) is available Friday against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
He popped up on the injury report right before warmups, so this does make him a little riskier than usual for streaming purposes.
Feb 10, 2023
Questionable Friday
Batum is dealing with lower back spasms and is questionable Friday against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
The veteran forward is a very late addition to the injury report. Kawhi Leonard is resting Friday, so we could see more of Norman Powell and Terance Mann.
Feb 4, 2023
Clutch three-pointer prevents loss
Batum produced 10 points (3-4 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 27 minutes during Saturday's 134-128 overtime win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Batum nailed a three-pointer as the clock expired in regulation, sending the game to overtime. While his overall production was nothing spectacular, he stepped up when required, in typical Batum style. The Clippers are running a very tight rotation at the moment, meaning while Batum probably should be on any 12-team rosters, his role is secure enough to warrant some attention in deeper formats.

Moves back to bench
Batum is not starting Tuesday against the Bulls, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 34-year-old made a spot start Sunday with Kawhi Leonard (knee), Paul George (knee) and Marcus Morris (ribs) sitting out, though he went scoreless in just seven minutes. Batum came off the bench in the prior five contests and averaged 6.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists over 24.2 minutes during that stretch.
Jan 29, 2023
Starting Sunday
Batum will start Sunday's game against the Cavs, Andrew Greif of the LA Times reports.
ANALYSIS
With both Kawhi Leonard (knee) and Paul George (knee), as well as Marcus Morris (ribs), sitting the second leg of a back-to-back, the Clippers will play with a skeleton crew on the wing. That means Batum will move into the starting lineup for the first time since Jan. 18. The veteran should be poised for a slight bump in minutes, but he still doesn't make for an overly appealing fantasy option. Looking ahead, the Clippers don't face another back-to-back until the first week of March.
Jan 20, 2023
Returns to second unit
Batum will not start Friday's game against the Spurs, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum saw a spot start with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard sidelined and will return to the bench with the pair healthy. In 34 bench appearances, Batum has averaged 5.8 points and 4.1 rebounds across 19.8 minutes.
Jan 18, 2023
Enters starting lineup
Batum will start in Wednesday's game versus the Jazz, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS

Jan 17, 2023
Shifts back to bench
Batum is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the 76ers, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum started the past four games and averaged 4.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 29.0 minutes during that stretch. He'll return to the bench Tuesday with Paul George (hamstring) coming back from a five-game absence.
Jan 8, 2023
Starting against ATL
Batum is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Hawks, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum was cleared to play only a few hours before the 9 p.m. ET tip-off, but he's not only available, he's jumping straight into the lineup with the likes of Paul George (hamstring) and Luke Kennard (calf) sidelined. Batum is averaging 10.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in five starts this season.
Jan 8, 2023
Will play Sunday
Batum (ankle) is available to play Sunday against the Hawks, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum is set to return after a two-game absence and after being out of three of the team's last four contests. The veteran is averaging 9.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game across 15 appearances since the start of December.
Jan 7, 2023
Questionable vs. Hawks
Batum (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's tilt against the Hawks, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum has missed three of the past four games due to a sprained left ankle. Paul George (hamstring) and Luke Kennard (calf) are also questionable Sunday.
Jan 6, 2023
Downgraded to out
Batum (ankle) won't play in Friday's game versus the Timberwolves, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss his second straight game Friday after being downgraded from doubtful to out with a left ankle sprain. Amir Coffey and Moses Brown will likely see extended minutes in his absence. His next chance to suit up is Sunday's matchup with Atlanta.
Jan 5, 2023
Doubtful Friday
Batum (ankle) is unlikely to play in Friday's game versus Minnesota, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will most likely miss both games in the Clippers' back-to-back due to a left ankle sprain, as he has already been ruled out Thursday. If he can't suit up Friday, his next chance to play is Sunday's matchup with the Hawks.
Jan 4, 2023
Sitting Thursday
Batum will not play in Thursday's game against Denver due to a left ankle sprain, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum suffered the injury on Dec. 29 and missed one game before returning to the hardwood Monday and logging 23 minutes. However, the injury has lingered and will result in him missing the first leg of a back-to-back set that features a pair of road contests. In his stead, Robert Covington could see an expanded role.
Jan 2, 2023
Available Monday
Batum (ankle) is available for Monday's contest against the Heat, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS

Questionable for Monday
Batum (ankle) has been listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Heat, Joey Linn of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum didn't play on New Year's Eve against the Pacers, and it remains to be seen if he'll sit on back-to-back games for the first time in the current campaign. The veteran sharpshooter is averaging 6.3 points per game while shooting 41.8 percent from three-point range in 37 outings (five starts) this season.
Dec 31, 2022
Unavailable against Indiana

Dec 30, 2022
Questionable Saturday
Batum is questionable for Saturday's game against the Pacers with a left ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Batum is questionable to miss his first game of the season Saturday. Robert Covington, Amir Coffey and Marcus Morris are candidates to see extended minutes in his potential absence. His next chance to suit up will be Friday's matchup with Miami if he can't play versus Indiana.
Dec 27, 2022
Returns to bench
Batum isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's matchup with the Raptors, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will be replaced by Kawhi Leonard in the starting five Tuesday after starting in his place during the first leg of the back-to-back. The veteran forward posted seven points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 31 minutes Monday.
Dec 26, 2022
Gets start Monday
Batum will start Monday against the Pistons, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will get the nod over Kawhi Leonard, who had already been ruled due to injury management on his right knee. This will be Batum's fifth start of the season, and he has averaged 10.8 points per game while shooting 47.8 percent from three-point range in the previous four.
Dec 22, 2022
Drops 21 points off bench
Batum ended Wednesday's 126-105 win over Charlotte with 21 points (7-10 FG, 7-10 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists and one steal across 20 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Batum started Saturday against the Wizards but returned to the bench with Paul George back in action Wednesday. Although Batum saw a decrease in playing time, he had plenty of looks from the floor and topped 20 points for just the second time this season. He's also tallied at least seven rebounds in four of the last five matchups and has averaged 10.4 points and 5.8 rebounds in 24.2 minutes per game during that time.
Dec 21, 2022
Returns to bench
Batum isn't in the starting lineup for Wednesday's matchup with Charlotte, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will be replaced by Paul George in the starting lineup Wednesday. The veteran forward is averaging 10.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in his four starts this season.
Dec 17, 2022
Gets starting nod Saturday
Batum will start Saturday's game versus the Wizards, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum gets a look with the starting unit instead of Terance Mann on Saturday, as the Clippers go with a little more size in the starting unit. The veteran is averaging nearly 30 minutes per game in his three starts, notching 11.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in that role.
Dec 15, 2022
Decent bench contribution in win
Batum produced 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-7 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 99-88 victory over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Batum put together a solid stat line in 31 minutes off the bench. Batum deserves fantasy consideration due to his solid production floor. He also has spotless attendance record, a feat that few Clippers have provided this season. Whenever Kawhi Leonard rests, Batum and Marcus Morris are the usual candidates for a boost.
Dec 10, 2022
Coming off bench Saturday
Batum will come off the bench Saturday against the Wizards, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Kawhi Leonard and Paul George available, Batum will head back to the bench. In his past 10 appearances as a reserve, he's averaged 3.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 19.2 minutes.
Dec 7, 2022
Starting Wednesday
Batum will start Wednesday's game versus the Magic, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum draws into the starting five for the first time since Oct. 25, with Marcus Morris (illness) slated to miss the game. Given the reason behind Morris' absence, it will likely be a brief cameo in the starting lineup for Batum, and it's not guaranteed to yield more minutes. Batum logged just 18 minutes in his only other start for the Clippers this season.
Dec 6, 2022
Connects on four triples
Batum supplied 13 points (4-6 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-3 FT), five rebounds, one assist and two steals over 20 minutes during Monday's 119-117 win over Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Batum connected on four three-pointers and scored 13 points, marking his most points and made threes in a game since he nailed seven triples en route to a 22-point performance against the Mavericks on Nov. 15. When the veteran forward plays over 20 minutes (11 games), he's averaged 7.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals per contest.
Nov 15, 2022
Perfect from downtown
Batum provided 22 points (7-7 FG, 7-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds and one steal over 26 minutes during Tuesday's 103-101 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Batum scored 21 of his 22 points from beyond the arc, knocking down all seven of his attempts from deep. He turned in his usual production on the glass, as he's now secured five or more boards in each of his last four matchups. It's also worth mentioning that Batum has notched a steal in back-to-back contests after recording just one steal over his first six games of November.
Nov 15, 2022
Serviceable performance Monday
Batum contributed 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 0-2 FT), six rebounds, one block and one steal across 19 minutes during Monday's 122-106 win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Batum saw a few extra minutes Monday as the Clippers blew out the Rockets. The fact his 10 points marked a season-high says everything we need to know in regard to his overall value. He is currently the 237th-ranked player, leaving him well off the radar outside of the deepest leagues.
Oct 28, 2022
Returns to the bench Thursday
Batum chipped in seven points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals in 21 minutes during Thursday's 118-110 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Batum moved back to the bench with Paul George returning from an illness. While he did lead the second unit with 21 minutes, he offered very little in terms of fantasy production. The three defensive stats are nice but at this point in his career, the upside is negligible, making him a deeper league asset only.
Oct 27, 2022
Returns to Bench
Batum will not start in Thursday's matchup against the Thunder, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum started the previous game due to the absence of Kawhi Leonard (knee), Marcus Morris (personal) and Paul George (illness), but with George active on Thursday, Batum will shift back to his bench role. The starting lineup consists of Reggie Jackson, Paul George, Norman Powell, Terance Mann and Ivica Zubac.
Oct 25, 2022
Starting with Kawhi, PG out
Batum will start Tuesday's game against the Thunder, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Paul George (illness), Kawhi Leonard (rest/knee) and Marcus Morris (personal) all shelved, Batum joins the starting five. In his 54 starts last year, he averaged 8.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals in 25.1 minutes.
Oct 23, 2022
Diverse line from bench
Batum racked up seven points (3-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals across 28 minutes during Saturday's 111-109 victory over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
We barely saw Batum in the season opener and that could have been due to Kawhi Leonard's presence. Those interested in Batum for fantasy purposes should monitor his usage the next time Leonard is in the lineup. If the numbers confirm the correlation, we may be able to identify Batum as a stable value pick when Leonard is out of the lineup.
Jun 30, 2022
Returning to Clippers
Batum agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Clippers on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum declined his $3.33 million player option with the team in search of a new deal, and he'll ultimately remain in Los Angeles for a third season after agreeing to a two-year deal with the Clippers on Thursday. The veteran forward was a key contributor for the Clippers during the 2021-22 season, starting 54 games and averaging 8.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists across 24.8 minutes per contest.
Jun 21, 2022
Set to decline option
Batum informed the Clippers on Tuesday that he intends to decline his $3.33 million player option for 2022-23, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will officially become a free agent June 30, but he and the Clippers reportedly have interest in reaching a new deal that will keep the 33-year-old in Los Angeles for a third season. Batum, who is heading into his 15th NBA campaign in 2022-23, started in 54 of his 59 appearances this past season and averaged 8.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers, 1.7 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.7 blocks in 24.8 minutes per contest.
Apr 11, 2022
Not on injury report
Batum (ankle) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Tuesday's play-in game against Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Batum was scratched from Sunday's regular-season finale against OKC with an apparent ankle injury, but in retrospect it's likely that he was simply held out for rest purposes. Expect the veteran to be back in the lineup and available for his usual workload Tuesday night.
Apr 10, 2022
Now listed as out
Batum (ankle) is listed as out for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
The Cliippers previously announced Batum as a starter, but it looks like the team has reversed course and opted to hold him out of action for precautionary purposes. Robert Covington could be in position to get the start at forward.
Apr 2, 2022
Off injury report
Batum (ankle) will be available for Sunday's game against the Pelicans, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Most of the Clippers' key starters sat out Friday against the Bucks and will be back in action Sunday. Batum finished March with averages of 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals in 25.6 minutes.
Apr 1, 2022
Won't play at Milwaukee
Batum (ankle) is out Friday against the Bucks, Mirjam Swanson of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Most of the Clippers' key players are resting Friday, so plenty of value has suddenly opened up for daily fantasy leagues. At forward, more minutes should be available for Robert Covington, Terance Mann, Amir Coffey and Rodney Hood.
Mar 31, 2022
In starting five
Batum (ankle) will start Thursday's game at Chicago, Tomer Azarly of Clutch Points reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum was initially questionable due to a sore ankle, but he'll start at his usual forward spot. Last week, coach Ty Lue said Batum's workload would be capped at 19 minutes for the rest of the regular season, but he's played 23 and 22 minutes, respectively, over the last two contests.
Mar 31, 2022
May not play Thursday
Batum is questionable for Thursday's game against the Bulls due to left ankle soreness, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite coach Tyronn Lue saying Batum would be capped at 19 minutes going forward, he's played 22 and 23 minutes, respectively, over the past two games. Both he and Marcus Morris (knee) have popped up on the injury report Thursday, and if one or both players sit out, more minutes could be in store for Amir Coffey, Terance Mann and Robert Covington
Mar 24, 2022
Capped at 19 minutes
Batum will be capped at 19 minutes per game for the remainder of the regular season, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum is having his workload capped along with Marcus Morris (25 minutes) and Reggie Jackson (32) to keep them fresh for the play-in tournament. In the 12 games this season that Batum has seen 19 or fewer minutes, he's averaged 2.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists. With that being the case, he's a must-drop in almost all fantasy leagues.
Mar 9, 2022
Top scorer in loss
Batum contributed 17 points (6-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-5 FT), six rebounds, one assist and two steals in 27 minutes during Tuesday's 112-97 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Batum recorded one of his best stat lines in a while, recording his first double-digit scoring total in over three weeks. He also distinguished himself with solid secondary numbers in 27 minutes on the floor.
Feb 16, 2022
Picks up slack in losing effort
Batum scored 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt) and chipped in seven rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal across 25 minutes Tuesday in the Clippers' 103-96 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
With Terance Mann (two points in 32 minutes) taking a big step back Tuesday following two straight games of at least 20 points, it was Batum who stepped up to fill the scoring void. Though Batum paired the strong scoring total with quality numbers across the board, the veteran forward remains tough to depend on from a game by game basis. His playing time has fallen between 16 and 29 minutes over the Clippers' seven games in February, and before turning in excellent lines in back-to-back contests, he had averaged a meager 4.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.8 blocks and 0.6 three-pointers in the first five games of the month.
Feb 15, 2022
Produces solid stat line in upset
Batum tallied 14 points (5-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt), eight rebounds, two steals and one assist across 29 minutes Monday in the Clippers' 119-104 win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Batum did the bulk of his damage in the first half, recording 11 of his points and seven of his rebounds between the first two quarters. He supplemented the three-point shooting and rebounds with a pair of thefts to produce one of his better all-around fantasy games in recent weeks, but the Clippers' crowded forward and wing rotation renders Batum an inconsistent option. Over the previous five games, Batum had averaged a decidedly un-fantasy-friendly 4.6 points, 3.0 boards, 1.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks per contest.
Feb 11, 2022
Multi-cat performance in loss
Batum produced 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 28 minutes during Thursday's 112-105 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Batum did his thing in the loss, putting up low-volume numbers across every major category. When it comes to upside, there is very little to see, and yet Batum remains a 12-team worthy asset. Better suited to roto formats, Batum should at least be considered if you simply need a player to fill up the boxscore with regularity.
Jan 31, 2022
Available Monday
Batum (back) is available for Monday's game against the Pacers, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum missed Sunday's matchup against the Hornets due to low back soreness, but he'll be able to return to action a day later. He's averaged 9.0 points and 4.2 rebounds in 21.4 minutes per game across his last five appearances.
Jan 31, 2022
Questionable Monday
Batum (back) is questionable for Monday's game against the Pacers, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum was unavailable Sunday against the Hornets due to a back injury but will have a chance to return for the second half of the back-to-back set. If he remains out, Justise Winslow and Terance Mann should see additional run.
Jan 30, 2022
Out Sunday
Batum (back) won't play in Sunday's contest against the Hornets, Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum dealt with back spasms during Tuesday's win over the Wizards but was able to play in each of the last two games. However, he's still bothered by a back issue and will be sidelined Sunday. In his absence, Marcus Morris (personal) will make his return to the starting lineup following a three-game hiatus from the team.
Jan 29, 2022
Questionable Sunday
Batum is questionable for Sunday's game against the Hornets due to low back soreness, Mirjam Swanson of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum dealt with back spasms in Tuesday's win over the Wizards but has been able to play in each of the last two games. He's still bothered by a back issue ahead of Sunday's matchup, and Terance Mann and Justise Winslow could see additional playing time if Batum is unavailable.
Jan 27, 2022
Bounces back with solid outing
Batum logged 12 points (4-7 FG, 4-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists and one steal over 22 minutes during Wednesday's 111-102 win over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Batum left Tuesday's win over the Wizards due to back spasms, but he was back in the starting lineup Wednesday and didn't appear to be limited. With Marcus Morris (personal) out for a second straight game, Batum and Terance Mann both saw increased usage once again. Over his last 10 games (all starts), the veteran forward has averaged 10.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 24.8 minutes.
Jan 26, 2022
Not on injury report
Batum is not listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against Orlando after he dealt with back spasms during Tuesday's win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
The back issue limited Batum to just eight minutes of action, and he did not play at all during the second half as the Clippers erased a 35-point deficit to come all the way back for the most improbable win of the season. His absence from the injury report implies that he'll likely be in the starting lineup at one forward spot. The Clippers will again be without Marcus Morris, who will miss a second straight game due to a personal matter.
Jan 22, 2022
All-around performance in win
Batum posted 15 points (6-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in 30 minutes during Friday's 102-101 victory over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Batum was held out of Wednesday's loss to the Nuggets due to an inconclusive test, but he was back in action Friday. He was efficient from the field en route to his third straight appearance in double figures, and he also registered multiple steals for just the seventh time this season. Over his last three contests, Batum is averaging 20.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 31.0 minutes.
Jan 21, 2022
Available Friday
Batum (COVID-19 protocols) is available for Friday's game against Philadelphia, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum was held out of Wednesday's loss against the Nuggets due to an inconclusive test, but he'll be back in action following a brief absence. Since the 33-year-old was forced to miss just one game, he'll likely be able to handle a relatively full workload Friday.
Jan 20, 2022
Listed questionable for Friday
Batum (COVID-19 protocols) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Batum was placed in protocols just over 24 hours ago, but it looks as though the team believes he may have a chance to be cleared before Friday's game tips. Batum was held out of Wednesday night's overtime loss to the Nuggets, but in Monday's win over Indiana he went for a season-high 32 points with seven three-pointers.
Jan 19, 2022
Lands in COVID-19 protocols
Batum was placed in the league's health and safety protocols Wednesday, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum missed nine games in late November and early December due to the league's health and safety protocols, and he'll now need to isolate from the team once again. It's not clear whether he's tested positive for COVID-19, but Justise Winslow, Serge Ibaka and Marcus Morris should see increased work in Batum's absence.
Jan 17, 2022
Massive scoring output in win
Batum amassed 32 points (11-16 FG, 7-10 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 36 minutes during Monday's 139-133 victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Batum came through with his best scoring performance of the 2021 campaign, and he did so in an efficient manner. He set a new season-best in made triples, and also managed to swat away two or more shots for the fifth time this season. Batum does appear to have found his comfort zone from downtown of late, going 15-for-33 over his last six contests.
Jan 13, 2022
Swats three shots Thursday
Batum ended with six points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three blocks and one steal across 24 minutes during Thursday's 113-89 loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Batum salvaged what was an otherwise disappointing evening, racking up a combined four defensive stats. Since returning to action, Batum has not been able to assert himself as managers would have hoped. His ability to contribute in multiple categories does at least put him in the standard league conversation. However, once into the backend of a standard roster, a player with more upside is probably the preferred target.
Jan 9, 2022
Solid again
Batum provided 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt), eight rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 30 minutes during Sunday's 106-93 win over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Batum contributed across the box score for a second consecutive night. Batum was on a tear across early November, but has fallen off since. Sunday marked arguably his best game in a month. The 33-year-old is an underwhelming option off the wire.
Jan 8, 2022
Starting Saturday
Batum will start Saturday's matchup against the Grizzlies, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After one game off the bench, Batum will return to the starting five. In his 16 starts, he's averaged 8.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals in 26.9 minutes.
Jan 7, 2022
Gets light minutes off bench
Batum (ankle) played 18 minutes off the bench and contributed one point (0-3 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks in Thursday's 106-89 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
As expected, the Clippers capped Batum's minutes and brought him off the bench in his return from a five-game absence due to an ankle injury. Before getting hurt, Batum had been filling a starting role, so he could be a candidate to replace Terance Mann on the top unit once the Clippers are comfortable with his conditioning. With Paul George (elbow) and Kawhi Leonard (knee) out indefinitely, the Clippers are likely to rely on Marcus Morris and Reggie Jackson as their primary scoring options, but Batum is one of several supporting players who should benefit from more touches.
Jan 6, 2022
Will be limited Thursday
Batum will have a limited role in Thursday's matchup with Suns, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum has missed the previous five games with an ankle injury but will return Thursday in a limited role. The Clippers are likely to continue to be patient when bringing back the 33-year-old who has already missed 19 of 38 games this season due to various injuries.
Jan 6, 2022
Available Thursday
Coach Ty Lue said Batum (ankle) will play Thursday against the Suns, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum missed the last five contests due to an ankle injury, but he participated in the team's morning shootaround Thursday and has been cleared to return to game action. It's unclear whether he could have a minutes restriction against Phoenix.
Jan 5, 2022

ANALYSIS

ANALYSIS
Batum has missed his team's last four games while recovering from an ankle injury, but he's been given the green light for Monday's matchup. He was averaging 5.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in his last four games prior to suffering the injury.

ANALYSIS
Batum has been out since Dec. 27 with a right ankle sprain, but there's a chance that the veteran can return to the lineup versus the Timberwolves. If that's not the case though, Serge Ibaka will likely garner another start.
Jan 1, 2022
Out vs. Nets
Batum (ankle) is out Saturday against the Nets, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.

Dec 30, 2021
Ruled out Friday
Batum (ankle) will not play Friday against Toronto, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum is still nursing a sprained right ankle that will cost him a third straight contest. With the Clippers entering a back-to-back, there's a good chance the veteran will miss Saturday's game at Brooklyn, as well.
Dec 28, 2021
Listed out Wednesday
Batum (ankle) is listed as out for Tuesday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss a second straight game after suffering a sprained right ankle during Sunday night's game against the Nuggets. The Clippers are already down tow starters in Paul George (elbow) and Reggie Jackson (COVID-19), so Terance Mann will likely make another start in place of Batum on the wing.
Dec 27, 2021
Won't play Monday
Batum is out for Monday's game against the Nets due to a right ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Batum served as a starter in each of the last two games and averaged 4.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in 25.5 minutes per contest during that time. Serge Ibaka and Justise Winslow should see increased run against Brooklyn.
Dec 19, 2021
Logs 25 minutes in return
Batum racked up 12 points (4-6 FG, 4-6 3Pt), one rebound, two assists and two steals over 25 minutes during Saturday's 104-103 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Batum came off the bench in his return to action, registering a serviceable line in just 25 minutes. The Clippers are going to ease him back into the rotation given his recent absences, something that is certainly not a bad thing. It could take him a while to get back to full-speed and until that happens, he is probably more of a stash in standard leagues.
Dec 18, 2021
Playing on minutes limit
Batum (ankle) will play on a minutes limit Saturday against the Thunder, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum has played just one game since Nov. 21, so a minutes limit isn't too surprising. Coach Tyronn Lue said he hopes to have the veteran available for the end of the game. Justise Winslow will start.
Dec 18, 2021
Trending toward playing Saturday

Dec 15, 2021
Still out Wednesday
Batum (ankle) won't play Wednesday against the Jazz, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS

Dec 14, 2021
Questionable at Utah
Batum (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
A sprained right ankle has kept Batum out for two straight games. His presence would be more helpful than usual given that Paul George (elbow) is questionable and Serge Ibaka (personal) is out.
Dec 13, 2021
Unavailable Monday
Batum (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Suns, Mirjam Swanson of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Questionable Monday
Batum (ankle) is questionable for Monday's game against the Suns, Mirjam Swanson of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum was unavailable for Saturday's game against Orlando due to a right ankle sprain but has a chance to suit up Monday. If he's unavailable once again, Terance Mann, Luke Kennard, Marcus Morris and Brandon Boston should take on increased roles.
Dec 11, 2021
Ruled out Saturday
Batum (ankle) won't play Saturday against Orlando, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum was considered doubtful ahead of Saturday's matchup due to his sprained right ankle. Terance Mann, Luke Kennard, Marcus Morris and Brandon Boston could see increased work in Batum's absence.
Dec 10, 2021
Doubtful Saturday
Batum has been deemed doubtful for Saturday's game against the Magic due to a right ankle sprain, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum presumably sustained the injury in Wednesday's 114-111 victory over the Celtics. With Paul George (elbow) already ruled out, the Clippers will be thin at forward should Batum also ultimately not play. Thus, the likes of Terrance Mann, Luke Kennard, Marcus Morris and Brandon Boston could be in line for bigger workloads than usual.
Dec 9, 2021
Scoreless in return
Batum closed Wednesday's 114-111 victory over the Celtics with zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound, one assist, one block and one steal across 15 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Batum missed the Clippers' previous nine games while in COVID-19 protocols, so some rust was to be expected. He'll likely be more productive as he gets back into a rhythm, but the veteran is only a fringe fantasy asset even when ramped up and healthy.
Dec 8, 2021
Will play Wednesday
Batum (conditioning) is available for Wednesday's game against the Celtics, Mirjam Swanson of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will make his return Wednesday after missing the previous nine games due to COVID-19. The veteran forward has played a solid role for the Clippers scoring in double-figures in 7 of 14 games this season.
Dec 8, 2021
Present at shootaround
Batum (conditioning) took part in the Clippers' shootaround Wednesday morning, per Clippers reporter Justin Russo.
ANALYSIS
Batum is officially listed as questionable for Wednesday night's contest against Boston, but his presence at shootaround looks to be a positive indication. The veteran wing has not played since Nov. 19 due a bout with COVID-19, and while he cleared league protocols over the weekend, Batum was held out of Monday's win over the Blazers as he works on his conditioning. If he's cleared to return Wednesday, he could face a soft minutes limit.
Dec 7, 2021
Questionable vs. Boston
Batum (conditioning) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Celtics, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum is working on his conditioning to return from COVID-19 protocols, and he may be able to play in his first game since Nov. 19. If he does see the court, he could be on a minutes limit.
Dec 6, 2021
Assigned to G League
Batum was assigned to the Agua Caliente Clippers on Monday, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum hasn't played since Nov. 19, but he has cleared COVID-19 protocols and will begin his return to NBA action by getting his conditioning back in the G League. On the season, the veteran forward is averaging 9.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals across 27.6 minutes per game.
Dec 4, 2021
Still out Saturday
Batum (COVID-19 protocols) remains out Saturday against the Kings, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum hasn't played since Nov. 19, and he'll miss an eighth straight game Saturday. His next chance to play arrives Monday against the Trail Blazers.
Dec 2, 2021
Won't return Friday
Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said Batum (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) won't be available for Friday's game against the Lakers, Mirjam Swanson of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
After being placed in the NBA's health and safety protocols Nov. 21, Batum has now completed the 10-day quarantine period that is typically standard in these instances, but the 32-year-old looks as though he may require some additional time to regain conditioning. Friday's game is the first of a back-to-back set for the Clippers, so unless Batum is able to participate in practice Thursday, he seems likely to sit out Saturday's game in Sacramento as well.
Nov 21, 2021
Enters health and safety protocols
Batum entered the league's health and safety protocols Sunday, according to Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times.
ANALYSIS
An illness ruled Batum out concerning the Mavericks-Clippers game Sunday. However, it will force him to sit out multiple games. Though uncertain, there is a high chance he will miss at least six games of NBA action if he requires the minimum 10 days. Batum's next chance to return would be Dec. 4. The Clippers started Amir Coffey on Sunday and could continue to do so while Batum is out.
Nov 21, 2021
Out vs. Mavericks
Batum is out against the Mavericks on Sunday because of an illness, according to Law Murray of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
The Clippers announced that a seemingly healthy Batum would be unavailable less than one hour before their game Sunday. They are starting Amir Coffey.
Nov 19, 2021
Available vs. New Orleans
Batum (Achilles) is available for Friday's matchup against the Pelicans, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran will make his return to the lineup following a one-game absence. Over his past three games, he's averaging 3.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 22.7 minutes.
Nov 19, 2021
Questionable Friday
Batum (Achilles) is questionable for Friday's contest against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
The veteran forward missed his second contest of the season due to an Achilles injury Thursday, but Batum has a chance to return to the Clippers' lineup Friday night. If Batum is forced to sit out once again, expect Amir Coffey to start once again in his place. Coffey recorded eight points (2-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one block in 29 minutes during his spot start Thursday.
Nov 18, 2021
Out Thursday
Batum (Achilles) is out Thursday against the Grizzlies, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Achilles soreness will force the veteran to sit on the first night of a back-to-back set. Amir Coffey will start in his place.
Nov 17, 2021
Unlikely to play Thursday
Batum (Achilles) is doubtful for Thursday's matchup against the Grizzlies, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum's workload was cut short Tuesday against the Spurs due to Achilles soreness, and it will likely force him out Thursday, which is the first game of a back-to-back set. Assuming the veteran is shelved, more minutes could be available for Luke Kennard and Terrance Mann (ankle), who is questionable.
Nov 17, 2021
Managing minor Achilles injury
Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue said after Tuesday's 106-92 win over the Spurs that Batum was limited to 14 minutes in the contest due to some Achilles soreness, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com, Lue suggested that Batum is "good" moving forward, so the veteran forward is best viewed as probable heading into Thursday's game at Memphis. The Clippers' decision to limit Batum on Tuesday may be maintenance-related more than anything after he logged 35-plus minutes in two of his prior three outings. While Batum's averages of 9.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 three-pointers, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.8 blocks per game don't jump off the page, his ability to chip in across the box score while shooting an excellent 51.7 percent from the field have made him a roster-worthy player in 12-team leagues.
Nov 17, 2021
Goes scoreless in 14 minutes
Batum mustered zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound and two assists across 14 minutes during Tuesday's 106-92 win over San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
Batum fell flat in the victory, turning in quite possibly his worst game of the season. Despite his lack of offensive production, Batum has been relatively consistent thus far this season, and so anyone who has rostered the savvy veteran should try and chalk this one up to a bad night. He will look to tun things around when the Clippers travel to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies on Thursday.
Nov 10, 2021
Drains six treys Tuesday
Batum finished Tuesday's 117-109 victory versus the Trail Blazers with 22 points (7-9 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal over 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The veteran forward took all but one of his shots from beyond the arc, and he impressively managed to convert all but two of his eight attempts from that range. Batum isn't distributing the ball like he did in his fantasy heyday, but he has regained fantasy relevance thanks to strong numbers in other areas. Over his past five games, Batum is posting per-game averages of 16.8 points, 6.6 boards, 4.4 three-pointers and 1.6 steals.
Nov 6, 2021
Solid play continus Friday
Batum totaled 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in 29 minutes during Friday's 104-84 victory over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Batum is putting together a nice stretch of games for the Clippers, making the most of injuries to a couple of key pieces. While the opportunity is certainly favorable, it is not out of the question that he might be able to keep this up for an extended period. His fantasy ceiling is not what it once was but for those in 12-team formats, he is absolutely worth a look as a player who can chip in across the board most nights.
Nov 4, 2021
Scores 20 on six treys
Batum posted 20 points (7-10 FG, 6-8 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 126-115 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Batum drilled four three-pointers during Monday's win over the Thunder, and he continued his assault from deep Wednesday. The veteran forward scored only five points across his first two games of the season, but in his past four contests he's averaged 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 30.0 minutes while shooting 44.8 percent on three-point attempts.
Nov 2, 2021
Knocks down four treys Monday
Batum totaled 14 points (5-10 FG, 4-8 3Pt), eight rebounds, one assist, two steals and a blocked shot over 32 minutes Monday in a 99-94 victory versus the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Batum entered the contest with only one double-digit scoring effort through five contests, but he found his stroke Monday and knocked down four triples en route to 14 points. The veteran added eight boards and two steals to round out the strong all-around effort. Batum's output has been inconsistent this season, so he'll need to display more consistency in order to emerge as a reliable fantasy asset.
Oct 28, 2021
Scores 16 to lead Clippers
Batum tallied 16 points (6-14 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists and a steal over 32 minutes in a loss to the Cavaliers on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Batum made his second start of the campaign for the Clippers and tied Reggie Jackson for the team lead with 16 points. The veteran forward is shooting just 40.9 percent from the field through three games this season, but he has provided some value with 7.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 three-pointers per contest. He could be a low-end fantasy asset as long as he continues to start for Los Angeles.
Oct 25, 2021
Starting Monday
Batum is starting Monday's game against the Trail Blazers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum logged 23 minutes and finished with five points along with five boards and two dimes in his first action of the season Saturday, and he'll get a chance to run with the starting five Monday evening. The Clippers have yet to announce who will head to the bench as a result.
Oct 23, 2021
Not on injury report
Batum (personal) isn't on the injury report ahead of Saturday's game against the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Batum was held out of Thursday's season opener for personal reasons, but it appears as though he'll return to the court against Memphis. He should play a bench role in the Clippers' frontcourt.
Oct 20, 2021
Out for season-opener
Batum (personal) will not play in Wednesday's season opener against the Warriors, Sabreena Merchant of SB Nation reports.
ANALYSIS
It is unclear why Batum will be unavailable Wednesday but he will have a chance to make his season debut Saturday against the Grizzlies. Justice Winslow, Luke Kennard and Terance Mann will likely see more action in his absence.
Oct 7, 2021
Out for rest Friday
Batum won't play in Friday's preseason matchup against the Mavericks due to rest, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran is getting the night off for rest after playing 16 minutes in Wednesday's preseason game and posting three points, five rebounds and one assist.
Oct 5, 2021
Expected to play Wednesday
Batum (rest) is expected to play in Wednesday's preseason contest against the Kings, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum didn't play in the Clippers' first preseason game, but he'll get some run in Wednesday. He should see a solid role this season with Kawhi Leonard (knee) likely out for the year. Batum saw 27.4 minutes per game last season and averaged 8.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 steals.
Oct 3, 2021
Sitting Monday
Batum (rest) is not playing during Monday's preseason opener against the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
The veteran forward will be rested alongside fellow teammates Paul George and Marcus Morris for the team's preseason opener Monday. Batum's next chance to play comes Wednesday against the Kings.
Aug 2, 2021
Staying with the Clippers
Batum has agreed to a two-year deal to return to the Clippers, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum's versatility allowed the Clippers to play small for large portions of their playoff run. The 32-year-old shot 40.4 percent from three last season and will likely see a similar role for a short-handed Clippers' squad next season.
Jun 22, 2021
Coming off bench
Batum will come off the bench in Tuesday's Game 2 against the Suns, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Ty Lue will go with a traditional lineup in Game 2, as Ivica Zubac will start at center. This will mark just the fifth time in these playoffs that Batum has come off the bench. In his previous four bench appearances, the veteran has averaged 8.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 26.3 minutes.
Jun 19, 2021
Excellent in Game 6 win
Batum posted 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals in 40 minutes during Friday's 131-119 Game 7 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
With Kawhi Leonard (knee) out and the Clippers turning to small-ball, Batum found himself with an increasing role over the course of the series. Across the final four games (all victories), he averaged 12.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.3 assists and 1.0 blocks in 37.3 minutes. It remains to be seen if the Clippers will approach the next series against the Suns in the same manner.
Jun 13, 2021
Puts up 17 points Saturday
Batum finished Saturday's 132-106 victory in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 17 points (6-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and a steal over 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were the clear stars of the contest for the Clippers, but Batum filled an important complementary role with his best game of the 2021 postseason. He went 4-of-6 from three-point range and 6-of-9 from the field overall and tied for third on the team with 17 points. Batum was relegated to a reserve role in Game 2 of the series, but his performance Saturday -- and the team's big win -- may have secured his spot in the starting five for Monday's key Game 4 matchup.
Jun 12, 2021
Returns to starting five
Batum will start Saturday's Game 3 against the Jazz, Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum came off the bench for Game 2, but coach Tyronn Lue will go back to starting him in a small-ball lineup, with Ivica Zubac coming off the bench. In his last five playoff starts, Batum has averaged 8.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.0 steals in 33.8 minutes.
Jun 10, 2021
Moves to bench for Game 2
Batum will come off the bench for Game 2 against the Jazz on Thursday, Garrett Chorpenning of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will revert back to a bench role after he had started in each of the last five playoff games as the team is going with a more traditional center in Ivica Zubac. Though he won't be starting, the 32-year-old should still see a solid workload off the bench. When he came off the bench in the first three games of the Round 1 series, Batum averaged 9.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.7 triples per game.
May 31, 2021
Swipes four in start
Batum accumulated 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five rebounds, two blocks and four steals in 36 minutes during Sunday's 106-81 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old drew his first start since March 30th and delivered across the board in Sunday's win. Batum has been a steady contributor so far in the playoffs, averaging 9.5 points, 5.3rebounds, 1.9 three-pointers and 1.3 steals on 50.0 field-goal shooting over his last four games. The 13-year veteran's stellar defensive play could earn him another start Wednesday in Game 5.
May 30, 2021
Starting Game 4
Batum is starting Sunday's Game 4 against the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Batum hasn't been in the starting lineup since March 30, but he'll take the place of Ivica Zubac in the starting five Sunday. Across the first three games of the series, Batum averaged 9.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 26.0 minutes per contest.
May 22, 2021
Grabs seven boards in relief
Batum posted 11 points (4-8 FG, 3-7 3Pt), seven rebounds and two assists across 32 minutes in Saturday's 113-103 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Batum appears to have wrestled more time in the rotation. Terance Mann was a complete no-show in the loss, and Batum's 32 minutes was the fourth-best total on the squad. He likely saw more time after an ineffective game out of the gate from Marcus Morris, but he possesses the skills to play three positions. The veteran can log time effectively with the second unit in a variety of game scripts.
May 16, 2021
Resting Sunday
Batum won't play in Sunday's game against the Thunder due to rest, Farbod Esnaashari of Sports Illustrated reports.
ANALYSIS
The Clippers have elected to rest many of their key rotation players for the regular season finale including Batum. Patrick Patterson is getting the starting nod and should see increased run against the Thunder.
Apr 28, 2021
Available Wednesday
Batum (shoulder) is available for Wednesday's game at Phoenix.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old as considered questionable after exiting Monday's contest with a shoulder injury, but it won't prevent him from taking the court Wednesday. Batum averaged 5.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 28.4 minutes over the previous five games before the injury.
Apr 27, 2021
Questionable vs. Suns
Batum (shoulder) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
The veteran suffered a shoulder injury Monday against the Pelicans, and it could prevent him from playing Wednesday. If he's ruled out, more minutes would be available for Patrick Patterson.
Apr 27, 2021
Suffers shoulder injury
Batum left Monday's game against the Pelicans due to a shoulder injury, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum failed to return to the contest after suffering the injury. The extent of the issue is not yet known.
Apr 18, 2021
Resting Sunday
Batum won't play Sunday against Minnesota for rest purposes, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum had averaged 28.6 minutes per game across the past five matchups, and he'll get a night off as a result. Patrick Patterson and Malik Fitts could see increased run for the Clippers with Batum unavailable Monday.
Apr 14, 2021
Five rejections against Pacers
Batum scored 14 points (6-12 FG, 2-7 3Pt) while adding five rebounds, five blocks, one assist and one steal in 28 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
The veteran set a new season high in rejections while also scoring at least 14 points for the third straight game. Batum's defensive contributions give him a somewhat steady fantasy floor but his role still isn't significant enough to make him valuable in shallower formats, and over the last 10 games he's averaging 8.5 points, 6.0 boards, 2.5 assists, 1.5 threes, 1.2 blocks and 0.9 steals in 27.8 minutes.
Apr 12, 2021
Back-to-back strong outings
Batum tallied 14 points (5-6 FG, 4-4 3Pt), nine rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal across 31 minutes Sunday in the Clippers' 131-124 win over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
After finishing in single digits in the scoring column in eight straight contests, Batum has now compiled 31 points between his last two outings. He supplemented his scoring and three-point output with stellar rebounding and defensive-stats production, and he'll likely remain more reliable in those categories moving forward rather than on the offensive end. It's worth noting that the Clippers were missing Paul George in Friday's win over Houston, while Kawhi Leonard sat out for rest purposes Sunday.
Apr 10, 2021
Scores 17 points
Batum totaled 17 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, one steal and one block in 27 minutes during Friday's 126-109 win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Batum reached double digits for the first time since March 24 against the Spurs, but he failed to record an assist for the first time since Feb. 19 against the Jazz. The Clippers were without Paul George (rest), Patrick Beverley (hand) and Rajon Rondo (hip) on Friday, so that may have contributed to the scoring outburst from Batum. The veteran's defensive impact is far more important to his team than for fantasy purposes, particularly with a plethora of talented wings ahead of him in Los Angeles.
Mar 30, 2021
Joins starting five
Batum is starting Tuesday's game against the Magic, Garrett Chorpenning of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Marcus Morris (calf) was a late scratch for Tuesday's contest, thrusting Batum into the lineup. The 32-year-old has averaged 8.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 28.8 minutes over 37 starts this season.
Mar 21, 2021
Serviceable against former team
Batum recorded 11 points (3-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five rebounds, two assists and two steals across 28 minutes Saturday in a 125-98 win versus Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Batum was one of only three Clippers players (along with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George) who played more than 25 minutes. Those gave the former Hornet much time to strike, which he did with a well-rounded stat line. Batum has now averaged 8.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals across his past three games.
Mar 15, 2021
Headed for bench role
Batum isn't starting Monday's game against the Mavericks, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This isn't necessarily a surprising decision by the Clippers, as Batum has averaged just 6.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists over his last 10 games as a starter. Marcus Morris gets the nod at forward as a result.
Mar 15, 2021
Continues quiet stretch
Batum scored six points (3-8 FG, 0-4 3Pt) and added four rebounds along with two steals over 20 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Batum was a steady fantasy contributor earlier in the campaign due to his all-around contributions, but the veteran's scoring has dropped off so dramatically of late that it may be difficult to keep him rostered. Since Feb. 7, Batum is averaging just over six points per game and is shooting less than 40 percent from the field. He is still providing a moderate amount of boards and steals, but Batum's recent stat lines leave much to be desired.
Mar 2, 2021
Puts up 10 points in loss
Batum recorded 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt), five rebounds and three assists across 30 minutes in Tuesday's loss at Boston.
ANALYSIS
Batum was one of five Clippers that scored in double digits, but he relied on efficiency to reach the double-digit mark for the second time in his last three games -- he only missed two of his six shots from the field. Batum might be delivering little value as a scorer but still has upside as a three-point shooter, as he has drained multiple threes in three straight contests.
Feb 27, 2021
Scores 13 points in win
Batum had 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists and a steal across 25 minutes in Friday's win over the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Batum made most of his damage from three-point range, as he drained three of his five attempts from behind the arc. He's trusted into a secondary role on offense and has scored more than 10 points just three times over his last 12 contests, but he can deliver value with his shooting and has made 43.5 percent of his long-range attempts during that 12-game span.
Feb 19, 2021
Starting Friday
Batum (concussion) is starting Friday's game against the Jazz, Mirjam Swanson of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum missed the last two games due to a concussion, but he'll return to the starting lineup along with teammates Kawhi Leonard (lower leg) and Paul George (toe) against the Jazz. Across his past five appearances, Batum is averaging 7.8 points and 5.8 rebounds over 32.4 minutes per game.
Feb 18, 2021
Questionable for Friday
Batum (concussion) is listed as questionable for Friday's matchup against the Jazz, Mirjam Swanson of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum has missed two straight games due to a concussion, but he appears to have a chance to return Friday. Kawhi Leonard (lower leg), Paul George (toe) and Luke Kennard (knee) are also all listed as questionable.
Feb 16, 2021
Out Wednesday
Batum (concussion) is out Wednesday against the Jazz, Mirjam Swanson of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss a second straight game due to a concussion. In his stead, Marcus Morris and Terance Mann could continue seeing expanded roles.
Feb 15, 2021
Dealing with concussion
Batum is being held out of Monday's game against the Kings due to a concussion, Mirjam Swanson of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
It had been previously reported that Batum was dealing with a migraine, but the team has since updated the injury report. Swanson notes that Batum appeared to take a shot to the jaw during Sunday's matchup with Cleveland, though it's unclear if this is when the injury occurred.
Feb 15, 2021
Won't play Monday
Batum won't play Monday against the Heat due to a migraine, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will miss just his second game of the season as a result of the ailment. Marcus Morris draws the start at power forward in his place.
Feb 6, 2021
Drains four treys in loss
Batum totaled 16 points (6-11 FG, 4-7 3Pt), seven rebounds and two steals Friday in a 119-115 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
With Paul George (foot) out of the lineup, Batum assumed a heavier workload and paced the team with 39 minutes of game action. He also led LA with four three-pointers and shot an efficient 6-for-11 from the field overall, though his effort wasn't enough to secure a victory. Batum lost fantasy relevance while scoring only 3.6 points over 23 minutes per contest with Charlotte last season, but he has bounced back in his first year with the Clippers, posting per-game averages of 10.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals.
Feb 3, 2021
Ties season high in return
Batum recorded 21 points (7-10 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds and one assist Tuesday in a 124-120 loss at Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Batum marked his return from a groin injury by tying his season high of 21 points that he scored on Jan. 5 (vs. San Antonio). It has all been part of a career revival for the once struggling 32-year-old. After posting 3.6 PPG for the Hornets last season, Batum is averaging nearly three times as many points (10.3) across 21 games for a contending Clippers team.
Feb 2, 2021
Back in action Tuesday
Batum (groin) will play Tuesday at Brooklyn, Garrett Chorpenning of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old will return to the court Tuesday after missing one game due to a left groin bruise. Batum should reclaim his spot in the starting lineup against the Nets, pushing Patrick Patterson back to the bench.
Feb 1, 2021
Questionable Tuesday
Batum (groin) is questionable for Tuesday's game at Brooklyn, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old sat out Sunday's win over the Knicks with a left groin bruise, and his availability for Tuesday's contest is also in jeopardy. Patrick Patterson could receive another start for the Clippers should Batum miss a second straight game.
Jan 31, 2021
Won't play Sunday
Batum (groin) is unavailable for Sunday's matchup with the Knicks, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old was added to the injury report with a groin bruise Sunday morning and will end up missing his first game of the season. Patrick Patterson will enter the starting lineup in Batum's absence, and Marcus Morris could also have an increased role.
Jan 31, 2021
Dealing with groin bruise
Batum is questionable for Sunday's game against the Knicks with a left groin contusion, Mirjam Swanson of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old wasn't included on the initial injury report for Sunday's contest, but his availability is now in question due to the groin issue. Marcus Morris and Patrick Patterson could see increased run should Batum be unavailable in New York.
Jan 28, 2021
Drills six treys
Batum (personal) went for 18 points (6-12 FG, 6-9 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists and two steals over 31 minutes in Thursday's 109-105 win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
After getting the green light from the NBA to return to the Clippers after the birth of his child, Batum did not disappoint. Prior to Thursday's outburst, Batum had made a total of six three-pointers over his last three games. His 18 points also led the team and were the most he's scored since January 5.
Jan 22, 2021
Available Friday
Batum (personal) will play in Friday's matchup with the Thunder, Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum was away from the team for the birth of his child and was given a questionable designation as a result. He has since gotten the green light from the NBA in terms of its health protocols and will be available Friday.
Jan 22, 2021
Questionable for personal reasons
Batum is questionable for Friday's game against the Thunder due to personal reasons, Farbod Esnaashari of Sports Illustrated reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum has been a solid contributor for the Clippers all season and has yet to miss a game. If he ends up sidelined Friday, Marcus Morris and Patrick Patterson would be candidates to see extra run.
Jan 18, 2021
Drops 10 points in blowout win
Batum finished with 10 points (3-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and five rebounds across 25 minutes Sunday in the Clippers' 129-96 win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Batum has held down a starting role at power forward all season, but his playing time has been trending down since Marcus Morris returned from a knee injury to make his 2020-21 debut Jan. 6. In the Clippers' six games since that time, Batum is averaging 9.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.2 three-pointers and 1.7 steals in 26.2 minutes per contest. While that level of all-around production is useful, Batum probably doesn't need to be treated as a must-roster option in 12-team leagues.
Jan 10, 2021
Records four steals
Batum finished with eight points (2-3 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four steals, three assists, two boards and one block in 28 minutes of a 130-127 win against Chicago on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Batum set a season high in steals in the contest, despite failing to reach double-digit scoring for the first time since New Year's Day. Despite taking on a secondary scoring role in the Clippers offense, the veteran has instead filled the stat sheet in a more balanced manner. He'll face New Orleans on Wednesday.
Jan 6, 2021
Produces with bigger role
Batum recorded 21 points (8-12 FG, 2-5 3PT, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 36 minutes in the 116-113 loss to San Antonio on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Batum produced with the larger role given to him in the loss Tuesday. News broke late that fellow teammate Paul George was going to sit due to an ankle injury. Batum was one of the main beneficiaries and ran away with it. He not only produced a season-high in points, but also added that with nine grabs and a few more stat sheet fillers. Batum has struggled this season to truly impress and shine, but did not fail when the chance was given. It is unknown the significance of the injury to his teammate and may get more run in the next few matches.
Jan 3, 2021
Sharp shooting from three
Batum finished with 14 points (5-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt), three assists, one board, and one steal, in 31 minutes of a 112-107 win against the Suns on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Batum was hot from deep, doing most of his damage there and taking just two shots from inside the arc. Normally a solid rebounder, Batum failed to chip in much aside from launching up treys, but still finished tied for third on his team in points scored. He'll face the Spurs on Tuesday.
Jan 1, 2021
Perfect from charity stripe
Batum had nine points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT) and seven rebounds over 35 minutes in Friday's 106-100 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Batum put up a double-digit scoring total in the Clippers' last game, but he was only able to muster nine points in Friday's loss. The 32-year-old saw plenty of playing time as the team relied heavily on its starters against Utah, and he remained consistent on the boards, as he's now averaging 6.5 rebounds per game through the first six contests of the season.
Dec 26, 2020
Notches double-double Friday
Batum totaled 13 points (5-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in a win over Denver on Friday.
ANALYSIS
The veteran forward improved upon a quiet effort in his first game with Los Angeles with his first double-double since the 2017-18 campaign. After playing only 23 minutes per game with Charlotte last season, Batum has averaged 32 minutes through the first two contests of the 2020-21 campaign. It remains to be seen how his role will change when Marcus Morris (knee) returns to action, but Batum's ability to contribute across multiple categories makes him an intriguing fantasy option for as long as he is logging big minutes.
Dec 22, 2020
Starting Tuesday
Batum is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's season opener against the Lakers, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Marcus Morris (knee) is sidelined Tuesday, so Batum will enter the starting five in his place. The 32-year-old averaged only 3.6 points and 4.5 rebounds in 23.0 minutes for Charlotte during the 2019-20 campaign, but he'll look to take advantage of a fresh start in Los Angeles.
Dec 14, 2020
Earns preseason start
Batum posted nine points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two assists, two steals, a rebound and a block across 21 minutes in Sunday's 131-106 loss against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Batum earned the start Sunday and looked productive, as he filed the stat sheet and made quite an impact on both ends of the court despite playing limited minutes. Batum's path to regular playing time is a bit crowded, however, and it seems he'll have to settle for a bench role behind Kawhi Leonard in the small forward role.
Dec 2, 2020
Officially joins Clippers
Batum agreed to a one-year contract with the Clippers on Tuesday after clearing waivers, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Batum opted to sign on with Los Angeles after no team was willing to put in a claim for the declining veteran, who was owed $27.13 million after exercising his 2020-21 player option earlier in the offseason. The Hornets will end up footing that bill, while Batum will join the Clippers on a much more club-friendly deal. The 31-year-old will likely open the season with a regular role on the second unit, but he won't be in store for major minutes during games in which both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are available.
Nov 29, 2020
Plans to sign with Clippers
Batum plans to sign with the Clippers after he clears waivers, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Batum will reportedly be heading to Los Angeles after five relatively porous years in Charlotte. Assuming the deal becomes official, the 6-foot-8 forward would add some veteran wing depth to the championship-contending squad. Batum averaged just 3.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game across 22 games during the 2019-20 season.
Nov 21, 2020
Waived by Hornets
Batum was waived by the Hornets on Saturday to create cap space to sign Gordon Hayward, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The soon-to-be 32-year-old's five-season stint with the Hornets has come to an anti-climatic close. Batum's shooting was awful last season, averaging 3.6 points on 34.6 percent shooting and 28.6 percent from three. However, he still posted a respectable 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 23.0 minutes. The veteran now joins free agency, where he could get some interest from competitive teams looking to shore up wing depth.
Nov 15, 2020
To opt in for 2020-21
Batum will exercise his $27.13 million player option for the 2020-21 season, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The decision is a no-brainer for Batum, whose value has taken a significant hit over the last few years. He'll enter the final year off is contract after appearing in just 22 games for Charlotte last season. In 23.0 minutes, Batum posted 3.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.2 combined blocks and steals per game. At this point, it's unclear if he'll be a part of the rebuilding Hornets' regular rotation in 2020-21.
Mar 5, 2020
Non-factor in rotation
Batum hasn't appeared in game for the Hornets since Jan. 24, sitting out each of the last 15 games as the result of either an illness or a coach's decision.
ANALYSIS
The illness kept Batum out for two games in early February, but his string of absences from the rotation both before and after that time suggest that he wouldn't have gotten off the bench for those contests anyway. The Frenchman has been a massive disappointment for the Hornets since inking a five-year, $120 million contract extension back in the summer of 2016, and though he had been a mainstay in the rotation prior to this season, the organization seems to be writing him off as a sunk cost at this point. He'll likely continue to rack up the DNP-CDs through next season, as Batum is a virtual lock to exercise his $27 million player option for 2020-21.
Feb 11, 2020
Available Wednesday
Batum (illness) will suit up for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing the last two games due to illness, Batum will be available to play on Wednesday against the Timberwolves. However, since playing in his homecoming in France on January 24th against the Bucks, the French wing has completely fallen out of the rotation, as he has not logged a minute since.
Feb 8, 2020
Out with illness
Batum will miss Friday's game against Dallas due to illness.
ANALYSIS
Batum's absence may not be felt in any meaningful way by the Hornets, as he's fallen out of the rotation and hasn't appeared in any of the team's last five games. Even if Batum is healthy by Monday's game in Detroit, it doesn't appear likely that he'll play.
Feb 4, 2020
Ousted from rotation
Batum (coach's decision) didn't see the court in Monday's 112-100 loss to the Magic.
ANALYSIS
Batum received a spot start in place of a struggling Miles Bridges when the Hornets took on the Bucks in his home country of France back on Jan. 24, but the 31-year-old has since found himself on the outside of coach James Borrego's rotation. With Bridges having since displayed improved form and rookie Cody Martin solidifying himself as a key cog on the second unit, Batum seems unlikely to recapture a regular bench role anytime soon.
Jan 28, 2020
Back in bench role
Batum is coming off the bench Tuesday against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Batum entered the starting lineup for Friday's clash with the Bucks, scoring five points over 34 minutes of action, but he'll be sent back to the bench Tuesday. Miles Bridges draws the start at small forward in Batum's place.
Jan 24, 2020
Unceremonious homecoming
Batum had five points (1-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds and five assists in 34 minutes on Friday, as the Hornets fell to the Bucks 116-103.
ANALYSIS
Batum moved into the starting lineup for the Paris Game. However, playing in his home country of France did little to improve Batum's production. He has been ushered out of Charlotte's rotations, so this was a classy move by coach James Borrego and a cool opportunity for Batum, with Tony Parker and other French veterans in the building.
Jan 24, 2020
Receiving start in France
Batum is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Bucks in Paris.
ANALYSIS
The 31-year-old will draw the spot start Friday with the Hornets playing in his home country of France. Batum is averaging 3.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 22.4 minutes and figures to return to his bench role next week.
Jan 13, 2020
Sees elevated role Sunday
Batum played 32 minutes off the bench in Sunday's 100-92 loss to the Suns, contributing two points (1-5 FG, 0-3 3Pt), six rebounds, one assist and one steal.
ANALYSIS
After being excluded from the rotation in seven consecutive contests, Batum surprisingly received double-digit minutes in both of the Hornets' road games over the weekend. The veteran did little in the 46 minutes he received between Friday's loss to the Jazz and Sunday's game, however, tallying a combined five points (on 2-for-8 shooting from the field), nine rebounds, one assist and one steal. Even if he remains a factor on the second unit, Batum isn't likely to produce at a level that warrants intrigue outside of very deep leagues.
Oct 23, 2019
Won't return Wednesday
Batum won't return to Wednesday's season opener against the Bulls due to a sprained right ankle.
ANALYSIS
Batum injured his ankle at the end of the fourth quarter, finishing with zero points, four rebounds and two assists in his 2019-20 season debut. While the severity of the injury is unclear, considering Batum's age and extensive injury history, there's a good he'll be held out of Friday's game against Minnesota.
Oct 22, 2019
Cleared to play in opener
Batum (Achilles) is not listed on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Batum has officially made it through the Achilles soreness that had plagued him this preseason, which doesn't come as a surprise given he was able to put together a full practice late last week. The Hornets have set to reveal what their starting lineup will be, but there is a chance Batum starts the season coming off the bench with the Hornets likely putting an emphasis on the development of younger talent this season.
