Out again Tuesday
Banchero (groin) won't play Tuesday against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Banchero will miss a third straight game, and the Magic ruling him out a day in advance suggests that he might be out a bit longer beyond Tuesday. For now, consider him highly questionable for Thursday's game against the Clippers.
Nov 15, 2025
Another absence coming
Banchero (groin) will not play Sunday against the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Banchero will be sidelined for a second straight game Sunday. His timetable is murky at best right now, but he's going to be evaluated daily. In the meantime, it looks like Tristan da Silva is going to see a spike in value after putting up 22 points and nine rebounds Friday against the Nets.
Nov 13, 2025
To miss at least one game
The Magic announced Thursday that Banchero has been diagnosed with a left groin strain that will force him to miss at least one game, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero will continue to be evaluated, and his return will depend on how he responds to treatment. For now, fantasy managers can consider Banchero questionable at best for Sunday's game against the Rockets. In the meantime, Franz Wagner could see more usage, and the Magic could lean more on Tristan da Silva and Jonathan Isaac.

Set to undergo MRI
Banchero confirmed after Wednesday's game that he will undergo an MRI on his left groin, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
"I just slowed up, and I felt it right away," Banchero said. "And then, I did a couple more trips up and down, and then, it was still there. So I asked to come out because I didn't want to risk further injury." The Magic are officially calling his injury a strain for now, but the MRI will reveal the severity of the issue. If Banchero does end up missing time, Tristan da Silva would likely be the next man up for Orlando based on how he's stepped up thus far. Jonathan Isaac would likely be in the mix for more run as well.

Won't return Wednesday
Banchero (groin) won't return to Wednesday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero exited Wednesday's contest with 6:40 remaining in the second quarter due to a left groin strain and will finish with four points (1-4 FG, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 12 minutes. The star forward's status will be worth monitoring ahead of Friday's game against the Nets.

Questionable to return Wednesday
Banchero is questionable to return to Wednesday's game against the Knicks due to a left groin strain.
ANALYSIS
Banchero exited Wednesday's contest with 6:40 remaining in the second quarter. If the star forward is unable to return, Tristan da Silva and Jonathan Isaac are candidates for increased minutes the rest of the way.
Nov 10, 2025
Leads Magic with 28 points
Banchero produced 28 points (10-18 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 6-10 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal in 35 minutes during Monday's 115-112 victory over Portland.
ANALYSIS
Banchero tallied 28 points for a second straight matchup and took much better care of the basketball, as he committed only two turnovers after six turnovers Sunday against Boston. The Duke product has been performing particularly well on the offensive end through the first few weeks of the 2025-26 campaign, pouring in 20 or more points in nine of his first 11 appearances while also recording five double-doubles along the way.
Nov 9, 2025
Scores 28 in loss
Banchero logged 28 points (9-16 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 10-10 FT), six rebounds and four assists in 34 minutes during Sunday's 111-107 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was able to produce offensively Sunday despite failing to connect on any of his five three-point attempts, racking up a game-high 28 points. One area Banchero struggled was taking care of the ball, as he coughed up a season-high six turnovers while only dishing out four assists. Nonetheless, it was a solid bounce-back game offensively for Banchero, who totaled just 15 points in Friday's game against the Celtics after going over 20 in his previous six contests.
Nov 4, 2025
Double-doubles in defeat
Banchero posted 22 points (6-16 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 10-12 FT), 11 rebounds, eight assists and one steal across 37 minutes in Tuesday's 127-112 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
While he struggled with efficiency, Banchero still led all players in scoring en route to his seventh game with at least 20 points through eight regular-season appearances. The star forward also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, securing his fifth double-double of the campaign. His eight assists marked a game high as well, and he has dished out at least seven in three of his last four outings.

Posts massive double-double in win
Banchero finished with 28 points (9-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 26 minutes of Saturday's 125-94 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
The Magic have seemingly stabilized after a quiet start to their season with this being their second win in a row. The Magic took their foot off the gas early on in this one due to the lopsided score, making Banchero's line even more impressive. The star forward is averaging 23.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.1 three-pointers to open the campaign.

Just misses triple-double in win
Banchero provided 20 points (8-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-6 FT), nine rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 33 minutes during Thursday's 123-107 win over Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Banchero didn't look for his shot much through the first half of action, instead playing the facilitator role on offense, and all nine of his dimes came during the first half. He started to look for his shot more over the second half, and while he was efficient from the floor, he still struggled at the line. Banchero is averaging a career-high 10.3 free throw attempts per game this season, but he's only converting 71 percent of them, which has been a major drain on his fantasy value in category-based settings.

Posts 20-9-9-2-2 line in win
Banchero notched 20 points (8-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-6 FT), nine rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 33 minutes during Thursday's 123-107 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS

Grinds to 24-point night
Banchero finished with 24 points (7-16 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 10-17 FT), 11 rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one block in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 135-116 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Banchero wasn't shy in driving to the basket, resulting in a season-high 17 attempts from the charity stripe. He led the Magic in scoring, rebounds and assists, recording his third double-double of the young season. Banchero has been a strong contributor across the board through his first five appearances of the 2025-26 campaign.
Oct 27, 2025
Nets 32 points with full line
Banchero provided 32 points (10-18 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 11-11 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, three swats and two turnovers across 38 minutes during Monday's 136-124 loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero had been struggling in his prior two outings, converting just 30.6 percent of his shot attempts, so it was nice to see him get things back on track Monday. Unfortunately, it was not enough for the Magic, as they dropped their third straight game, and it could be tough for them to turn things around in their next one Wednesday with another tough matchup against the Pistons.
Oct 25, 2025
Paces Orlando in loss
Banchero contributed 24 points (7-21 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 9-11 FT), 10 rebounds, two blocks and one assist across 36 minutes in Saturday's 110-98 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Banchero had a bounce-back performance in the scoring column after posting just 11 points in Friday's loss to Atlanta. However, the star forward struggled with efficiency once again. He's shooting just 34.0 percent from the field and 16.7 percent from three-point range thus far. On a positive note, the 22-year-old was one of two Orlando players with double-digit rebounds Saturday, securing his second double-double in three regular-season games.
Oct 24, 2025
Struggles in loss Friday
Banchero produced 11 points (4-15 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds and one assist in 36 minutes during Friday's 111-107 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Banchero simply couldn't get anything going in the loss, delivering what could end up being one of his worst performances of the season. Sub-par percentages and a lack of defensive production have been an ongoing issue to this point in his career. While he won't be this bad very often, the aforementioned flaws appear to have not subsided just yet.
Oct 22, 2025
Double-doubles on Opening Night
Banchero finished with 24 points (7-17 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-12 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 125-121 win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Banchero ended the night tied for the team lead in scoring with Franz Wagner, doing a good chunk of his damage from the charity stripe. Banchero also paced the Magic on the boards and started the year on a high note by recording a double-double, a feat he accomplished 11 times in 46 regular-season appearances a year ago. Orlando will continue to lean heavily on Banchero's offensive production as the season progresses.
Oct 17, 2025
Double-doubles in win
Banchero finished with 19 points (6-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 30 minutes of Thursday's 132-125 preseason win over New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was rested for Sunday's preseason game against Miami, but coach Jamahl Mosley seemed to treat Thursday's game as a dress rehearsal for most of the night. Banchero has looked sharp in three exhibitions with 13.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 2.0 blocks and 0.7 three-pointers in 22.2 minutes per contest.
Oct 16, 2025
Available to play
Banchero (rest) will be available for Thursday's preseason game against the Pelicans, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Jamahl Mosley said he will see how the rotation goes tonight, but he confirmed that he's not planning to rest anyone. Through two exhibitions, Banchero is averaging 10.0 points in 18.5 minutes per contest.
Oct 12, 2025

Banchero finished with 13 points (4-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block across 24 minutes during Friday's 128-98 preseason win over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero had a rough shooting night, going 25 percent from the field. However, he was one of only five players on his squad to score in double digits, following Wendell Carter's lead, who dropped a game-high 20 points in the 30-point blowout.
Jul 7, 2025
Agrees to extension
Banchero agreed to a five-year maximum rookie extension with the Magic on Monday that could reach $287 million, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero is now locked in with the Magic on a long-term pact after spending the first three years of his career in Orlando. The star forward has already earned one All-Star selection and will look to lead Orlando on a deep playoff run alongside Franz Wagner, Desmond Bane and Jalen Suggs next season. Banchero appeared in only 46 regular-season outings in 2024-25 due to a right oblique strain, averaging 25.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.9 three-pointers while shooting 45.2 percent from the field across 34.4 minutes per game.
Apr 14, 2025
Off injury report for Tuesday

The star forward has scored 30 or more points in six of his last 10 appearances, averaging 28.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.7 three-pointers across 34.8 minutes per contest in that 10-game span.

Banchero (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Hawks.

Apr 12, 2025
Questionable to face Atlanta
Banchero (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Hawks, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero did not play in Friday's 129-115 win over the Pacers due to right ankle soreness. He'll likely have his minutes restricted or not play at all Sunday, given that Orlando is locked in as the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference standings. Banchero's absence would mean more minutes for Jonathan Isaac, Caleb Houstan, Tristan da Silva and Jett Howard.
Apr 11, 2025
Ruled out against Indiana
Bancher (ankle) won't play in Friday's game versus the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero has been downgraded from questionable to out due to right ankle soreness. Caleb Houstan, Jonathan Isaac and Tristan da Silva are all candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence. Banchero's next chance to suit up is Sunday's regular-season finale against Atlanta.
Apr 10, 2025

Apr 9, 2025
Balanced outing in blowout victory
Banchero recorded 15 points (6-17 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six assists and four rebounds over 29 minutes in Wednesday's 96-76 win over Boston.
ANALYSIS
Banchero put forth a balanced outing in Wednesday's blowout contest, leading all players in assists while finishing as one of three Magic players with 15 or more points in a winning effort. Banchero has recorded at least 15 points and six assists in four of his last eight contests, including in two of his last three appearances.

ANALYSIS
Banchero recorded a third straight double-double, and a fourth over his last six outings, while reaching the 30-point mark for a third time over that six-game stretch. Banchero is fully entrenched as the Magic's go-to option on offense, and the numbers back him up as one of the best scoring threats in the Eastern Conference over the last few weeks. He's averaging 29.8 points per game while shooting 49.1 percent from the floor in 18 contests since the beginning of March.
Apr 3, 2025
Dominates in all-around showing
Banchero recorded 33 points (11-24 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 8-10 FT), 18 rebounds, eight assists and one block over 39 minutes in Thursday's 109-97 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Banchero put on a show in Thursday's contest, leading all players in scoring, free throws, rebounds and assists in an impressive near triple-double performance. Banchero set a new season high in rebounds, surpassing the double-digit mark in 10 outings. He dished out his fifth game of the year with eight or more dimes while crossing the 30-point mark on 17 occasions.
Apr 1, 2025
Pours in 24 points in win
Banchero finished Tuesday's 116-105 victory over San Antonio with 24 points (9-21 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals across 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Banchero tied the game-high mark in scoring while logging his 18th consecutive contest with at least 20 points. The star forward also racked up 10 rebounds en route to his ninth double-double on the season. However, the 22-year-old struggled from beyond the arc once again, and over his last five outings, he has shot only 16.7 percent from downtown. On the bright side, Banchero became just the third player in NBA history aged 22 or younger to record at least 4,000 points, 1,300 rebounds and 900 assists during his first three seasons, joining elite company in LeBron James and Luka Doncic.
Mar 31, 2025
Game-high 26 points in defeat
Banchero provided 26 points (8-23 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 9-9 FT), six rebounds and four assists across 36 minutes during Monday's 96-87 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero finished with a game-high 26 points in Monday's low-scoring affair, marking his 17th straight game with at least 20 points. However, the star forward struggled with efficiency, especially from beyond the arc. Over his last five outings, Banchero has shot only 21.9 percent from three-point range. The 22-year-old forward has still averaged 29.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists across 35.8 minutes per contest during that five-game span.
Mar 28, 2025
Extends scoring streak

ANALYSIS
Banchero reached the 30-point mark for a fifth consecutive game, and the star forward now owns the league's longest streak of games with at least 30 points. He's been playing at a very high level in recent weeks and is firmly entrenched as the team's go-to scoring and playmaking option. Fantasy managers who have trusted Banchero all season long are certainly reaping the benefits of his play right when the fantasy playoffs are in full swing in most formats. The star big man is averaging 30.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game since the beginning of November.
Mar 26, 2025
Extends impressive stretch
Banchero logged 32 points (13-24 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds, six assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Tuesday's 111-104 win over Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Banchero and Franz Wagner have been carrying the Magic on offense of late, but the former has been one of the most prolific scorers in the NBA over the last two weeks. This was his fourth consecutive outing with at least 30 points, and he's achieved that mark in six of his past seven appearances, averaging a robust 32.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game over that stretch.
Mar 25, 2025
Leads team to victory

In the star forward's previous 10 outings, he was averaging 30.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 37.0 minutes while shooting 49.5 percent from the field and 41.5 percent from three.
Mar 25, 2025
Pours in 30 points in win
Banchero registered 30 points (9-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 10-12 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one block in 40 minutes during Monday's 118-106 victory over the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
The star forward finished as the club's second-leading scorer behind Franz Wagner (32 points) Monday. Banchero has scored at least 30 points in five of his last six outings, and he hasn't scored fewer than 20 points since Feb. 25. Additionally, Banchero found success getting to the charity stripe, and he put up double-digit free-throw attempts for the third time in his last four appearances.
Mar 22, 2025
Scores 30 points in win
Banchero posted 30 points (11-22 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one steal across 31 minutes during Friday's 120-105 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Banchero has been on a productive stretch of late and has scored at least 30 points in four of his last five appearances. Over that five-game span, the star forward has notched three double-doubles, 9.2 boards per game and is shooting an impressive 41.7 percent from three-point range. Even though the Magic are mostly healthy right now with the exception of Jalen Suggs (knee), Banchero should continue as the Magic's go-to option on offense going forward. His body of work in recent games certainly backs that up.
Mar 20, 2025
Scores 31 points despite loss
Banchero finished Wednesday's 116-108 loss to the Rockets with 31 points (10-21 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 8-8 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal over 39 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Banchero once again operated as the Magic's go-to option on offense, and he responded by delivering his fourth game of at least 30 points across nine March appearances. He's averaging a robust line of 30.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game over that stretch.
Mar 17, 2025
Puts up 24 points in tight win
Banchero chipped in 24 points (6-22 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 9-11 FT), 11 rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal across 38 minutes during Sunday's 108-103 win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero played a huge role in this upset win. Even though his shooting percentages were downright poor, he did enough in other categories to deliver a well-rounded fantasy line, and he finished just three assists shy of a triple-double. Banchero also recorded a third straight double-double, and he's averaging a robust line of 29.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game across eight outings since the beginning of February.
Mar 14, 2025
Big double-double in road win
Banchero closed Thursday's 113-93 victory over the Pelicans with 34 points (14-22 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, one block and four steals over 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The double-double was the fifth of the season for Banchero, who topped 30 points for the fourth time in 11 games since the All-Star break. Over that stretch, the third-year forward has averaged 28.6 points, 6.8 boards, 4.2 assists, 2.3 threes and 1.3 steals as he tries to keep an injury-plagued Orlando squad afloat.
Mar 11, 2025
Delivers game-high 25 in loss
Banchero supplied 25 points (10-23 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 36 minutes during Monday's 97-84 loss to Houston.
ANALYSIS
The third-year forward led all scorers on the night, but he got very little help -- only one other Magic players even scored in double digits. Banchero has been locked in since the All-Star break, scoring at least 20 points in nine of the last 10 games and averaging 28.1 points, 6.4 boards, 4.2 assists, 2.1 threes and 1.0 steals over that stretch.
Mar 9, 2025
Scores 29 points in tight win
Banchero finished with 29 points (9-16 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 7-10 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal over 37 minutes during Saturday's 111-109 victory over Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Banchero didn't come close to a double-double like he did Thursday in the loss to the Bulls, but he extended his impressive scoring stretch while lifting the Magic to a tight win. Banchero has reached the 20-point mark in his last six games, and he's posted 25-plus points four times over that stretch. Banchero should remain as the Magic's go-to option on offense if healthy, even ahead of Franz Wagner, and the numbers back him up since the end of the All-Star break.
Mar 7, 2025
Sniffs double-double in defeat
Banchero chipped in 20 points (5-15 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 10-11 FT), nine rebounds and three assists across 38 minutes during Thursday's 125-123 loss to Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Banchero came one rebound shy of his fifth double-double on the season while leading the Magic in scoring, albeit in a losing effort. However, the star forward struggled with efficiency in a lackluster performance from the field, failing to hit a three-pointer for the first game since Feb. 8. Banchero has shot 31.3 percent from beyond the arc over eight outings since the All-Star break, during which he has averaged 28.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.0 steals across 35.1 minutes per contest.
Mar 4, 2025
Tallies season-high four steals
Banchero finished Tuesday's 114-113 loss to Toronto with 41 points (14-20 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 9-10 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists, one block and four steals over 40 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Banchero's efficient shooting helped him record a team-high 41 points in Tuesday's loss. The star forward continues to get to the charity stripe at a high clip, converting 78.4 percent of his 9.7 free-throw attempts per contest across his last 10 outings. Banchero also made a strong defensive impact against the Raptors, tallying a season-high four steals.
Mar 3, 2025
Puts up 23 points in loss
Banchero amassed 23 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 12-15 FT), four rebounds, five assists and one steal over 39 minutes during Sunday's 104-102 loss to Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Banchero didn't receive a lot of touches on offense, but he took advantage of the Raptors' aggressive defense on him, making 12 of his 15 shots from the charity stripe, and it was the fourth time he made double-digit free throws in his career. Banchero has surpassed the 20-point mark in all but one of his six appearances since the All-Star break, averaging 27.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in that stretch.
Feb 27, 2025
Team-high 41 points not enough
Banchero registered 41 points (16-27 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 5-8 FT), six rebounds, five assists and two steals over 36 minutes during Thursday's 121-115 loss to Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Banchero got the Magic off on the right foot Thursday, scoring 24 points on 10 of 12 shooting in the first half to lead by as much as 17 points. Banchero cooled off in the third quarter with just four points, and while he had a strong 13-point outing in the fourth frame, it wasn't enough to match Stephen Curry's 56-point eruption. Banchero's 41 points were his second-most of the season, and his 16 made field goals tied a season-best from Oct. 28. Banchero and the Magic will look to get back in the win column against the Raptors on Sunday.
Feb 25, 2025
Scores game-high 26 points in loss
Banchero accumulated 26 points (9-22 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 7-9 FT), five rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 122-82 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero racked up 17-plus points for the 10th consecutive contest, posting a game-high 26 points, albeit in a losing effort. The star forward did struggle from beyond the arc, and he has shot only 29.4 percent from outside over his last five outings. Additionally, Banchero has attempted at least 20 shots in four of his last five matchups, though he has shot only 38 percent from the field in that five-game span.
Feb 24, 2025
Scores 19 points in win Sunday
Banchero amassed 19 points (5-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 8-9 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one block in 30 minutes during Sunday's 110-90 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Banchero saw the end of his stretch of games with at least 20 points Sunday, but the star forward still posted a solid stat line across the board. Banchero opened the month of February with a nine-point dud against the Jazz, but he's posted solid numbers overall over the last few weeks. In 10 games this month, Banchero is averaging 21.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists across 32.5 minutes per game.
Feb 21, 2025
Poor shooting display Friday
Banchero registered 21 points (5-21 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 10-13 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block over 29 minutes during Friday's 105-104 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Banchero had as bad as a start as you could get in Friday's game, missing all six of his field-goal attempts in the first quarter while committing three personal fouls, which caused him to sit for the entire second frame. Banchero managed to bounce back by scoring 15 points in the third quarter to spark an early Magic run, but he wasn't able to sustain that effort into the fourth quarter. He went 1-for-7 from the field in the fourth quarter and missed the potential game-winning shot as time wound down. Banchero and the Magic will look to bounce back against the Wizards on Sunday.
Feb 21, 2025
Dominant double-double vs. Hawks
Banchero ended Thursday's 114-108 win over Atlanta with 36 points (11-25 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 11-16 FT), 11 rebounds and five assists over 37 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Banchero led the Magic in scoring Thursday and was responsible for three of Orlando's six threes in the win. Down 19 points early in the second quarter, Banchero paced the Magic with 18 points during their 38-18 run for the rest of the frame. Over his last five outings, Banchero has averaged 25.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.2 blocks over 32.8 minutes per game. The Magic start a seven-game homestand Friday against the Grizzlies.
Feb 10, 2025
Logs 31 points vs. Atlanta
Banchero registered 31 points (10-22 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one block over 33 minutes during Monday's 112-106 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was the second-leading scorer for the Magic on Monday behind Franz Wagner (37), but the star duo didn't get much offensive production from their teammates. Banchero went just 4-for-34 from across the seven games heading into Monday's contest, but he connected on a game-high four three-pointers for just the third time this season. Banchero and the Magic will look to get back on track against the Hornets on Wednesday.
Feb 7, 2025
Fills stat sheet in loss
Banchero finished with 18 points (6-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-8 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one steal in 30 minutes during Thursday's 112-90 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Banchero stuffed the stat sheet while recording a season-high mark in swats, albeit in a losing effort. The star forward was fairly efficient Thursday, though he has struggled with his shot of late. Over his last five outings, the 22-year-old has averaged 17.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.8 blocks, shooting only 40.0 percent from the field and 9.1 percent from three-point range across 33.0 minutes per game.
Feb 6, 2025
Flirts with double-double in win
Banchero ended with 23 points (9-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), nine assists and one steal in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 130-111 victory over the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Banchero's fight back from a torn oblique hasn't been an easy road, but the dynamic forward is showing signs of improvement with every appearance. Although he's successfully popped for big numbers since returning to the court, he is still hampered by some shooting inconsistencies that should even out over time.
Feb 1, 2025
Poor shooting effort Saturday
Banchero racked up nine points (4-19 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 1-3 FT), six rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals in 34 minutes during Saturday's 113-99 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
It was a tough shooting night for Banchero, who went 1-for-12 from the field in the first half and failed to score in double digits for the second time in his last five games. He's averaged 20.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists over 32.2 minutes per game since returning from a torn right oblique, but he's shot just 38.9 percent from the field over that span. He'll look to find his stroke against the Warriors on Monday.
Jan 31, 2025
Productive despite loss
Banchero finished with 21 points (10-23 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-3 FT), six rebounds, three assists and one steal across 33 minutes during Thursday's 119-90 loss to the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
The Magic didn't have their best performance Thursday, but Banchero still had an impressive showing on both ends of the court. He's scored at least 20 points in seven of his 10 appearances since returning to the hardwood, and he seems to be getting better with each passing game -- even if he has some ups and downs here and there. Over that 10-game stretch, Banchero is averaging 21.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and a combined 1.4 steals-plus-blocks per game.
Jan 28, 2025
Struggles in loss
Banchero finished Monday's 125-119 double-overtime loss to the Heat with 17 points (7-21 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 1-3 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one steal over 44 minutes.
ANALYSIS
This wasn't Banchero's best showing, obviously, but it's a great sign that he was able to log a whopping 44 minutes. The Magic are off until Thursday's game against Portland, so he should get ample rest prior to that contest. In nine games since returning from his injury, Banchero has averaged 21.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.8 three-pointers on 40.4 percent shooting from the field.
Jan 19, 2025
Struggles from field in loss
Banchero logged 10 points (4-17 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals in 29 minutes during Sunday's 113-100 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Banchero struggled to find his shot in Sunday's contest, connecting on just 25 percent of his shot attempts but still managing to end as one of six Magic players in double figures to go along with his team-high-tying assist mark. Banchero posted his lowest point total of the season, failing to record at least 15 points for the first time.
Jan 17, 2025
Balanced outing in losing effort
Banchero amassed 21 points (8-20 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-7 FT), four rebounds and four assists over 29 minutes during Friday's 121-94 loss to Boston.
ANALYSIS
Banchero impacted Friday's game in multiple ways despite struggling a bit from the field, leading all Magic players in assists while finishing as one of two players with at least 20 points in a losing effort. Banchero has surpassed the 20-point mark in all but two outings this season, doing so in all four of his appearances since returning from injury.
Jan 16, 2025
Leads charge in Wednesday's loss
Banchero amassed 22 points (8-20 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one block across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 122-93 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
The third-year forward once again led the Magic in scoring on the night, and Banchero has hit for 20-plus points in three straight games since returning from an oblique strain Friday, an injury that cost him more than two months. Since rejoining the lineup, Banchero is averaging 25.3 points, 6.7 boards, 3.7 assists, 2.7 threes, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks while shooting 47.1 percent (8-for-17) from beyond the arc.
Jan 11, 2025
Returns with 34 points Friday
Banchero closed with a team-high 34 points (11-21 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 7-10 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals over 27 minutes during Friday's 109-106 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
The third-year forward had been out since Oct. 30 due to an oblique strain, but Banchero showed little rust in his return despite a slight minutes restriction, with his five threes representing a season high. He's only made six appearances this season, but he's topped 30 points in four of them, and he should resume seeing his usual workload as soon as Sunday against the Sixers.
Jan 10, 2025
Will start in return Friday
Banchero will return to the floor and start Friday against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero will make his long-awaited return to the basketball floor for the Magic after missing all but five games this season. The star forward will be thrust into the fire immediately, with Orlando putting him in the starting lineup, but he will play on a minutes restriction. He should give the team a much-needed boost, especially against Giannis Antetokounmpo and company Friday.
Jan 10, 2025
Officially good to go
Banchero (oblique) is available for Friday's game versus the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Banchero will return to action Friday after missing Orlando's last 34 contests due to a right oblique strain. While the star forward will likely operate on a minutes restriction, he should reclaim his starting spot from either Caleb Houstan or Tristan da Silva against Milwaukee.
Jan 10, 2025
Officially questionable for Friday
Banchero (oblique) is listed as questionable for Friday's matchup with the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero is nearing a return to the court after having been sidelined since Oct. 30 with a right oblique strain, though he'll likely operate under a minutes restriction if he's able to come back Friday. If the star forward remains sidelined Friday, however, Caleb Houstan could continue starting alongside Tristan da Silva at forward.
Jan 9, 2025
Ruled out Thursday
Banchero (oblique) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Banchero is nearing his return to the floor for the Magic, but it won't happen Thursday against the Timberwolves. The rising star has missed all but five games this season for Orlando and could finally make it back Friday in the second game of a back-to-back against the Bucks.
Jan 9, 2025
Game-time decision Thursday
Despite a previous report, coach Jamahl Mosley said Banchero (oblique) will go through his pre-game shooting routine and a decision about his availability for Thursday's matchup with Minnesota will be determined closer to tipoff at 7 p.m. EST, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was initially expected to make his return to action Friday after Milwaukee after missing 33 consecutive games due to a torn right oblique. However, it appears that the Magic will stick to their questionable designation for the star forward, so fantasy managers should look out for an official update from Orlando.
Jan 9, 2025
Will play against Minnesota
Banchero (oblique) is available for Thursday's game versus the Timberwolves, NBA reporter Chris Haynes reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero has missed Orlando's last 33 contests due to a right oblique strain but will return to action Thursday. While the star forward should reclaim his starting spot from either Tristan da Silva or Caleb Houstan, it wouldn't be surprising for Banchero to operate on a minutes restriction as he works his way fully back into game shape.
Jan 8, 2025
Officially listed as questionable
Banchero (oblique) is officially listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Banchero hasn't played since Oct. 30 due to a strained oblique, but he's on the cusp of returning to the fold for the Magic. If the star forward isn't ready to play Thursday, fantasy managers can expect him to suit up in Friday's tilt with Milwaukee on the second part of Orlando's back-to-back. The likes of Jonathan Isaac, Tristan da Silva and Caleb Houstan would continue soaking up minutes if Banchero sits out against Minnesota.
Jan 8, 2025
To return Thursday or Friday
Banchero (oblique) is expected to return to action Thursday versus Minnesota or Friday versus Milwaukee, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero, who has been sidelined since Oct. 30, returned to full practice Wednesday which was the final stage of his rebab. To be clear, it's unlikely that Banchero will play in both games of this back-to-back set after a lengthy absence, but fantasy managers will be excited to get him back into their lineups. Prior to his injury, Banchero had a tremendous start to the campaign with 29.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.2 three-pointers in five games.
Jan 8, 2025
Goes through full practice
Banchero (oblique) went through a full practice Wednesday, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero continues to clear the final hurdles of his rehab, potentially putting a return on Thursday against the Timberwolves on the table. Orlando will release their injury report Wednesday afternoon or evening, and it will be interesting to see what designation they give their star forward. If he does get the green light to play, it's fair to expect restrictions right out of the gate.
Jan 6, 2025
Won't return Monday
Banchero (oblique) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero recently took light contact at practice and is progressing towards a return in the near future. His conditioning is the final stage of his rehab, and a return against the Timberwolves on Jan. 9 could potentially be on the table.
Dec 31, 2024
Takes light contact at practice
Banchero (oblique) was able to go through some light-contact work at Tuesday's practice, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero remains without a firm timetable, to be clear, but he continues to progress towards a return in the near future. Back on Dec. 28, the Magic announced that Banchero has entered the "return to competition reconditioning" phase of his recovery.
Dec 28, 2024
Closing in on return
The Magic announced Friday that Banchero has entered the "return to competition reconditioning" phase of his recovery from a torn right oblique, but he remains without a firm timeline to be cleared for game action, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports. "Just been doing a lot of rehab and a lot of ramping up, trying to get my body back to playing shape," Banchero said prior to Friday's 108-85 loss to the Knicks, when asked where he stands in his recovery from the injury he sustained Oct. 30. "Obvious
ANALYSIS
While Banchero's condition is seemingly improving, the star forward still has a few more checkpoints to hit in his rehab program before being making his return to the Magic lineup. Notably, Reynolds relays that Banchero hasn't yet dunked the basketball nor taken part in 5-on-5 work since suffering the injury, though the 22-year-old has begun the process of getting himself back into playing shape following the long layoff. A clearer target date for Banchero's return may become available once he's been able to take part in full-contact practices.
Dec 26, 2024
Ramping up conditioning
Coach Jamahl Mosley said Thursday that Banchero (oblique) is not yet doing contact drills but is ramping up his conditioning workouts, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero hasn't played since Oct. 30 due to a torn right oblique. While the star forward will likely need to participate in full-contact practice before returning to action, he does appear to progressing in his recovery. Until Banchero is able to suit up, Tristan da Silva and Trevelin Queen should continue to receive increased playing time.
Dec 13, 2024
Participates in drills Friday
Coach Jamahl Mosley said Friday that Banchero (oblique) did some conditioning and ball handling drills during Friday's practice, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While Banchero's activity in practice is a positive sign of his progression through a torn right oblique, he'll likely remain sidelined for an extended period as he has yet to move to contact drills. The star forward hasn't played since sustaining the injury Oct. 30, and a timeline for his return to game action is unclear. With Banchero sidelined, Moritz Wagner, Jett Howard and Tristan da Silva should continue seeing an uptick in playing time.
Oct 31, 2024
Suffers torn oblique
Banchero has been diagnosed with a right torn oblique and will be re-evaluated in 4-to-6 weeks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero appeared to suffer the injury during Wednesday's loss against the Bulls, and he's been ruled out indefinitely after undergoing further testing. Charania notes that a timetable for his return will depend on how he responds to treatment. Jonathan Isaac and Moritz Wagner will likely be in line for more playing time while Banchero recovers.
Oct 31, 2024
Iffy against Cleveland
Banchero is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Cavaliers due to a right abdominal strain, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero seems to have suffered an abdominal strain against Chicago and is in danger of missing his first game of the season Friday. If the star forward is ultimately ruled out, Jonathan Isaac and Jett Howard are candidates to receive increased playing time.
Oct 31, 2024
Pours in 31 in Chicago
Banchero logged 31 points (12-22 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 5-7 FT), seven rebounds and four assists over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 102-99 loss to the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
One game after becoming the first player in the NBA this season to put together a 50-point performance, Banchero was dominant again as he led all scorers on the night. The third-year forward could be ready to rise to superstardom after being the first overall pick in the 2022 Draft, topping 30 points in three of five contests to begin the campaign while averaging 29.0 points, 8.8 boards, 5.6 assists and 2.2 threes.
Oct 28, 2024
Career-high 50 points vs. Indiana
Banchero finished Monday's 119-115 win over the Pacers with 50 points (16-26 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 15-22 FT), 13 rebounds, nine assists, two blocks and one steal across 40 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Banchero dominated in the first half of Monday's contest, finishing with a 37/7/6 line after 24 minutes. His production slowed down a bit in the third frame, but he paced the Magic in the fourth quarter and earned his 50th point on a free-throw attempt with less than a minute to play. Banchero had a couple of mediocre stat lines after a 33-point outing in the regular-season opener against the Heat on Oct. 23, but the 21-year-old showcased Monday why he was taken No. 1 overall in the 2022 NBA Draft. Banchero and the Magic will hit the road to take on the Bulls on Wednesday.
Oct 24, 2024
Explodes for 33 points in opener
Banchero notched 33 points (12-24 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 116-97 victory over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Banchero is looking to build on an excellent second season where he received an All-Star nomination and helped the Magic make the playoffs for the first time in four seasons. The double-double was an encouraging sign as the talented front man found double-doubles elusive last season. If he can keep the production going, he'll easily exceed his season averages (22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds) from last year.
Oct 10, 2024
Limited to 17 minutes
Banchero tallied six points (3-6 FG), six rebounds, seven assists and a steal across 17 minutes in Wednesday's 107-97 preseason loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Jamahl Mosley had already stated that Banchero would play "around 16" minutes in this contest, so fantasy managers shouldn't worry about the low minutes. The Magic are trying to give Banchero enough reps to get him into a rhythm, but they're also taking care of him, as he figures to be the team's primary offensive option once the regular season begins. Banchero is likely to remain under a minutes restriction -- if he plays at all -- in the Magic's final preseason games before the regular-season opener against the Heat on Oct. 23.
Oct 9, 2024
Minutes limited Wednesday
Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said that Banchero would play "around 16" minutes during Wednesday's preseason game against the Spurs, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero played 22 minutes in Orlando's preseason opener, and he'll have his workload trimmed further Wednesday. Entering his third NBA season, Banchero is a budding superstar, so it's not surprising to see the Magic be a little cautious. Banchero appeared in 80 regular-season games last season, averaging 22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists.
Oct 8, 2024
Leads Orlando in scoring
Banchero finished with 15 points (5-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three rebounds and two assists across 22 minutes in Monday's 106-104 preseason loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was one of two Magic starters who surpassed the 20-minute plateau in this preseason opener, and it was clear from the get-go that he was going to be the team's primary threat on offense. That shouldn't be surprising, as Banchero is coming off a career-best season in 2023-24 in which he averaged 22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 35.0 minutes across 80 regular-season appearances. Banchero should continue to see steady minutes in the preseason ahead of the regular-season opener against the Heat on Oct. 23.
Oct 4, 2024
Fourth-year option picked up
The Magic announced Friday that they have picked up Banchero's fourth-year team option for 2025-26.
ANALYSIS
Banchero has quickly established himself as one of the best young players in the league after averaging 22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 35.0 minutes across 80 regular-season appearances in 2023-24. Banchero is one of the cornerstone pieces of the Magic alongside Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs.
May 6, 2024
Explodes for 38 points Sunday
Banchero had 38 points (10-28 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 15-18 FT), 16 rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals in 42 minutes during Sunday's 106-94 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Banchero did everything in his power to keep the Magic alive in the playoffs, but even though his stat line was magnificent, the struggles of Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner were too much for Orlando to overcome, meaning Banchero couldn't carry the team to the next round on his own. Despite the early playoff exit, the series against the Cavaliers fully established Banchero as one of the league's up-and-coming superstars. He averaged 27.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.1 steals across 37.4 minutes per game.
May 1, 2024
Pours in 39 points
Banchero supplied 39 points (14-24 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 7-8 FT), eight rebounds and four assists over 38 minutes during Tuesday's 104-103 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Banchero's 39 points mark a new career high in the postseason, and this was a terrific bounce-back performance after he was held to nine points in Game 4 on Saturday. Banchero has been terrific in his first ever playoff series, posting averages of 24.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.2 three-pointers through five games.
Apr 28, 2024
Scores only nine points in win
Banchero racked up nine points (4-14 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal across 29 minutes during Saturday's 112-89 victory over the Cavaliers in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Banchero struggled to find an offensive rhythm and scored his fewest points since Nov. 29, but the Magic still evened the series at 2-2. The budding superstar averaged 25.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 37.0 minutes over the first three matchups of the opening-round series and scored in single digits only twice during the regular season.
Apr 26, 2024
Records double-double in Game 3 win
Banchero closed with 31 points (13-26 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists and one steal over 29 minutes during Thursday's 121-83 victory over the Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference's first round.
ANALYSIS
There's no question that Banchero is the engine that keeps the Magic going on offense, and the star forward made his presence felt on both ends of the court Thursday, leading the Magic in both points and rebounds en route to a blowout win. Banchero has surpassed the 20-point mark in his three appearances in the series, averaging 25.3 points per game while shooting 49.2 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range.
Apr 22, 2024
Leading scorer in Game 2 loss
Banchero notched 21 points (9-20 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block over 41 minutes in Orlando's 96-86 loss to Cleveland in Game 2 of the first-round playoff series.
ANALYSIS
Banchero led all Orlando players in scoring while handing out a trio of rebounds and assists and swiping a team-high pair of steals in a losing effort in Game 2. Banchero has done all he can to help the Magic in the first two games of the series against the Cavaliers, surpassing the 20-point mark while recording at least three rebounds and steals in both outings.
Apr 20, 2024
Scores 24 in playoff debut
Banchero closed with 24 points (9-17 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-8 FT), seven rebounds and five assists across 41 minutes during Saturday's 97-83 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
ANALYSIS
The Magic fell short in the series opener against the Cavaliers, but Banchero had a solid showing and finished just three boards away from recording a double-double. Banchero was Orlando's most reliable scoring weapon during the regular season and posted 54 appearances with 20 or more points, so it wasn't shocking to see him reach that mark here. Banchero should operate as the Magic's primary offensive weapon for Game 2 on Monday.
Apr 14, 2024
Top scorer in all-around outing
Banchero registered 26 points (8-19 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-9 FT), 11 rebounds and seven assists across 35 minutes during Sunday's 113-88 win over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero rounded out the regular season by putting forth an all-around showing for Orlando, leading all players in Sunday's contest in points, rebounds and assists while ending three dimes shy of a triple-double in a blowout victory. Banchero recorded at least 25 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in five outings, posting two straight games with 20 points, 10 boards and five dimes to conclude the regular season.
Apr 13, 2024
Grabs 15 boards vs. Philadelphia
Banchero ended with 22 points (7-24 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-9 FT), 15 rebounds, seven assists and one block in 41 minutes during Friday's 125-113 loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero's 15 rebounds Friday marked a season high for the 2022 first overall pick, and it was the first time since March 21 against the Pelicans that he grabbed 10 or more boards in a game. He's scored 20-plus points in each of his last six games. Banchero and the Magic face the Bucks on Sunday in a regular-season finale with major playoff implications.
Apr 11, 2024
Another 20-point outing
Banchero posted 20 points (7-15 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-8 FT), six rebounds, six assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 117-99 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Banchero has now scored at least 20 points in five straight contests. Over that span, the second-year forward is averaging 25.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 36.8 minutes. However, Banchero is shooting just 19.2 percent on 5.2 three-point attempts per contest across those five games.
Apr 8, 2024
Leads Orlando in victory
Banchero registered 24 points (8-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds and five assists in 36 minutes during Sunday's 113-98 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Banchero surpassed the 20-point mark for the third consecutive game, and even though he failed to reach the 30-point plateau this time around, he still posted an excellent overall performance, leaving his mark in the rebounds and assists columns as well. Banchero has scored 20 or more points in six of his last nine appearances, a span in which he's averaging 21.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game.
Mar 30, 2024
Stuffs stat sheet Saturday
Banchero closed Saturday's 118-88 victory over the Grizzlies with 13 points (5-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists and four blocks across 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Wendell Carter turned heads with his impressive double-double, but there's no doubt Banchero made his presence felt on both ends of the court, racking up stats left and right. The second-year forward might have ended a streak of four games with 15 or more points, but Banchero remains extremely valuable in fantasy even in games where his shot isn't falling due to his ability to fill the stat sheet on both ends of the court.
Mar 30, 2024
Scores 23 points in loss Friday
Banchero totaled 23 points (8-18 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 6-7 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two steals across 38 minutes during Friday's 100-97 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero couldn't carry the Magic to victory over the Clippers, but he delivered an impressive outing on both ends of the court. The All-Star forward has reached the 20-point mark in four of his last six appearances, and his role as Orlando's biggest piece on offense is set in stone, so he owns a pretty high floor most nights. He's averaging 21.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and a combined 1.3 steals-plus-blocks during March.

ANALYSIS
Thursday marked the second time Banchero has registered a triple-double this season, the first occurring Jan. 5 against the Nuggets. He's now dished five-plus dimes in six straight games and has scored 20-plus points in eight of his last 11 appearances. Since late February, Banchero is averaging 22.5 points on 52.9 percent shooting, 6.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists over 34.5 minutes per game.

Dishes five dimes versus Hornets
Banchero supplied 13 points (6-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt), one rebound and five assists in 26 minutes during Tuesday's 112-92 win over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Banchero extended his streak of five-plus assists to five games after Tuesday's win. His 26 minutes played were his lowest of the season, as the Magic found themselves up by as many as 41 points. Banchero was efficient with his limited touches as he hit all but one of his field-goal attempts. Thursday's interconference game against Zion Williamson and the Pelicans should provide a bigger challenge for a Magic team that is 12-3 over their last 15 games.
Mar 18, 2024
Leads Orlando to win Sunday
Banchero produced 29 points (11-16 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-6 FT), six rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in 36 minutes during Sunday's 111-96 win over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was extremely efficient Sunday, and even though his role as Orlando's go-to player on offense is not under question, his already-high fantasy value gets a sizable bump when he's shooting the ball this well. Banchero has quickly become a stat-filling machine as the season has progressed, and he has been handling well the fact that he now has a more significant responsibility on offense. He's averaging 23.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.9 rebounds per game since the beginning of March.

ANALYSIS
The Magic features a very balanced attack that saw all five starters plus two bench players score in double digits, but Banchero led the way. The reigning Rookie of the Year has topped 20 points in six of seven games since missing a couple contests in late February due to an illness, averaging 24.0 points, 6.4 boards, 5.7 assists and 1.3 threes over that stretch while shooting 51.7 percent from the floor.

ANALYSIS
Banchero logged a solid total amid Jalen Suggs' (thigh) and Markelle Fultz's (knee) absence. Banchero is one of the only players on the roister to avoid injury this season, as he's played and started in 62 games. The Duke product has been critical to the team's success this season, and the forward has improved in almost every statistical category after a promising rookie season.
Mar 9, 2024
Gets little help in loss
Banchero produced 23 points (9-20 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals over 36 minutes during Friday's 98-74 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
The Magic's 74 points were the lowest by any team in the NBA this season, and Banchero was the only Orlando player to have much success at all against the Knicks' stifling defense. The 2022 Rookie of the Year made his own defensive impact as well, setting a new career high in rejections. Banchero has topped 20 points in five straight games since returning from a brief absence due to illness, averaging 25.6 points, 7.4 boards, 5.2 assists, 1.4 threes and 1.0 blocks while shooting 53.3 percent from the floor.

ANALYSIS
Banchero missed two games due to illness toward the end of February, but he hasn't skipped a beat since returning, posting three straight games with more than 20 points. Firmly entrenched as Orlando's most reliable fantasy asset, as he leads the team in points, rebounds, and assists per game, most of Banchero's fantasy value lies in the scoring column. On that note, he's scored 20 or more points in five of his last seven appearances. He's averaging 21.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game since the league resumed following the All-Star break.

ANALYSIS
The second-year forward has shaken off the illness that cost him two games in late February, dropping 29 points in back-to-back contests. Banchero had been in a bit of a scoring slump prior to the time off, failing to score at least 20 points in four of his previous six games, but he appears to be firing on all cylinders again. Over 11 contests since the beginning of February, the 21-year-old is averaging 22.3 points, 6.2 boards, 6.1 assists, 1.5 threes and 0.8 steals while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor.

Banchero has scored at least 29 points in 11 games this season, including in two of his last four outings. He has posted 25 or more points with eight or more rebounds in 12 contests for Orlando.
Feb 29, 2024

ANALYSIS
Banchero is questionable for Thursday's matchup, and the Magic want to see how he fares during pregame warmups before determining his status. ANALYSIS
Banchero was far from being at his best Saturday and needed 17 shots to score 15 points, but he came through when the team needed him the most, draining the game-winning shot with just 0.1 seconds left. It's worth noting Banchero has failed to reach the 20-point mark in four of his last six appearances. Still, the star forward continues to operate as the Magic's primary offensive weapon, with averages of 20.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game in February.
Feb 22, 2024
Balanced game despite banged up
Banchero notched 12 points (4-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and four assists over 33 minutes in Thursday's 116-109 win over Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Banchero entered Thursday's contest questionable with an illness but went on to start for Orlando while leading all Magic starters in rebounds and ending as one of six players with a double-digit point total in a winning effort. Banchero failed to tally 15 or more points for just the ninth time of the season, entering the All-Star break with 13 consecutive games with at least 15 points. Now with a few days rest to recover from his illness, Banchero could see his pre-All-Star break level of play return Saturday against Detroit.

ANALYSIS
Banchero showed why he was selected to his first All-Star game as he missed just five of his 20 shots in Wednesday's win. His six threes was his most of the year and he's shooting 36.5 percent from beyond the arc this season, up from 29.8 percent in 2022-23. ANALYSIS
Banchero took a back seat to Franz Wagner on the scoring side of things, but the first-overall pick of the 2022 NBA Draft was productive across the box score. Banchero has dished out six-plus dimes in each of his last nine games and seems more determined to get his teammates involved on offense.

ANALYSIS
Banchero has split the duties of being the offensive workhorse this season with Franz Wagner, but he's showing the ability to excel as a playmaker when Wagner takes over. The eight assists in this one are the perfect example of that, and the second-year forward continues to develop as an all-around forward who can impact the game on both ends of the court. Banchero has scored at least 20 points in 16 appearances while grabbing double-digit boards five times and dishing out eight or more dimes four times.
Dec 23, 2023
Surpasses 30 points to lead offense
Banchero closed Saturday's 117-110 victory over Indiana with 34 points (11-20 FG, 12-16 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and one steal across 36 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Banchero led all players in Saturday's contest in scoring while connecting on a team-best mark from the free throw line and ending second on the Magic in rebounds in a winning effort. Banchero has tallied 30 or more points in four games this season, including in two of his last four outings.
Dec 17, 2023
Does it all in double-double outing
Banchero provided 36 points (14-30 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and two steals in 36 minutes during Sunday's 114-97 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Banchero led all players in Sunday's game in scoring while leading the Magic in threes made and rebounds along with a team-high-tying steals mark in an all-around double-double performance. Banchero has taken his game to the next level as of late, posting a double-double in four of his last seven outings and averaging 27.2 points over his last five games.
Dec 11, 2023
Back for fourth quarter
Banchero (ankle) returned to Monday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero went to the locker room in the third quarter after appearing to roll his ankle, but the team quickly cleared him for play.
Dec 11, 2023
Suffers ankle sprain
Banchero is questionable to return to Monday's game against Cleveland due to a right ankle sprain, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero rolled his right ankle late in the third quarter and promptly headed to the locker room for treatment. Franz Wagner will be leaned on offensively in the meantime, while Joe Ingles, Jonathan Isaac and Caleb Houstan absorb frontcourt minutes.
Dec 3, 2023
Comes close to triple-double again
Banchero produced 19 points (6-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 7-9 FT), 10 rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 34 minutes during Saturday's 129-101 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was one of the few bright spots offensively in a 28-point loss for the Magic, as he finished just two assists away from recording a triple-double. That has been the case in each of Orlando's last two games, and while he has been operating as the Magic's second offensive threat behind the red-hot Franz Wagner, he's finding ways to make an impact in other areas. Through his last five outings, Banchero is averaging 19.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game.
Dec 2, 2023
Sniffs triple-double in win
Banchero chipped in 28 points (11-20 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 13 rebounds and seven assists across 38 minutes during Friday's 130-125 victory over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was efficient from the field, and even though Franz Wagner ended up leading the team in scoring with his 31-point outing, Banchero made his presence felt on both ends of the court, finishing just three assists away from a triple-double. Perhaps more importantly, Banchero looked completely healthy after he suffered an ankle problem Wednesday against Washington, and he should be able to handle his regular workload going forward. Banchero is averaging 20.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game over his last 10 contests.
Dec 1, 2023
Cleared to play
Banchero (ankle) is available for Friday's game against Washington.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Banchero has been upgraded from probable to available and will play Friday despite spraining his ankle during the third quarter of Wednesday's win over Washington. Despite a poor showing last time out, Banchero has been solid in Year 2, averaging 19.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.1 steals in 33.2 minutes.
Nov 30, 2023
Likely to play Friday
Banchero (ankle) is probable for Friday's game against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Banchero turned his right ankle in the third quarter of Wednesday's win over Washington and has been diagnosed with a sprain. However, he'll likely be able to suit up in the first half of a back-to-back set Friday. He was limited to six points in 27 minutes during Wednesday's matchup but had topped 20 points in his previous five appearances.
Nov 30, 2023
Hurts ankle Wednesday
Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley said after Wednesday's 139-120 win over the Wizards that Banchero turned his right ankle in the third quarter of the contest and will be evaluated moving forward, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was in the midst of a down night before tweaking the ankle, as he provided just six points (2-8 FG, 2-3 FT), four rebounds and four assists while turning the ball over four times in 27 minutes before sitting out the final quarter. Though Mosley didn't suggest that Banchero's injury is a major concern, the second-year big man could be at risk of missing his first game of the season when the Magic return to action Friday for a rematch with the Wizards.
Nov 27, 2023
Flirts with triple-double
Banchero closed with 23 points (9-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-6 FT), seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Sunday's 130-117 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
The Magic have won seven straight games and Banchero has been hot with averages of 21.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.7 three-pointers in that stretch. His fantasy managers will be happy with his production apart from his free-throw percentage, as he's now shooting 65.1 percent on the season on 6.2 attempts per game.
Nov 25, 2023
Goes for 23 points in win
Banchero notched 23 points (10-16 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds and five assists over 35 minutes during Friday's 113-96 victory over Boston.
ANALYSIS
Banchero stepped his game up when the Magic needed him the most, and the second-year forward was one of the main reasons why Orlando pulled the upset against Boston. Banchero has been instrumental for the Magic of late, averaging 20.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game during the team's ongoing six-game winning run.
Nov 23, 2023
Pops for 23 in win
Banchero notched 23 points (8-14 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), three rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one steal over 35 minutes during Wednesday's 124-119 win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
The 21-year-old forward has scored at least 23 points in three straight games as he looks to improve on last season's Rookie of the Year performance. Banchero's shooting has taken a big step forward in 2023-24, especially from three-point range, and he's drained 51.4 percent of his attempts from long range in November after shooting just 29.8 percent from beyond the arc last year. That's led to 21.9 points a game on the month, and he may just be scratching the surface of his offensive upside.
Nov 19, 2023
Leading scorer in victory
Banchero totaled 24 points (9-14 FG, 6-7 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 27 minutes during Sunday's 128-116 win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero provided an offensive spark for Orlando in a road victory, leading all players in Sunday's game in scoring while leading all Magic players in shots made to go along with a pair of blocks on the defensive end. Banchero has tallied 20 or more points in five games this season, including in two of his last five outings.
Nov 18, 2023
Scores 13 with eight boards
Banchero accumulated 13 points (6-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-4 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one block across 32 minutes during Friday's 103-97 victory over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Banchero didn't have his best shooting performance and failed to reach the 20-point mark for the third straight contest. The second-year forward has hit that threshold just four times this season, and while it's still early in the campaign, his numbers are slightly down compared to his impressive rookie year. Despite that, he's been excellent for Orlando and should remain valuable across all formats due to his impressive play on both ends of the court.
Nov 12, 2023
Feasts in win
Banchero logged 26 points (10-22 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists and one steal in 38 minutes during Saturday's 112-97 win over the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero led Orlando with 26 points, but formed a quality trio with Franz Wagner (24 points) and Jalen Suggs (20 points) to account for the majority of the Magic's offense. The 21-year-old is booming over his last five games, averaging 24.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.0 assists on stellar 52.4/40.0/75.7 percent shooting.
Nov 10, 2023
Comes close to double-double
Banchero recorded 17 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal in 34 minutes during Thursday's 120-119 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero ended just two rebounds away from recording a double-double, a feat he's accomplished just once this season, though perhaps surprisingly, he's yet to grab 10 or more rebounds in 2023-24. Banchero endured a slow start but seems to be trending in the right direction of late, averaging 23.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game over his last four contests.
Nov 7, 2023
Scores team-high 22
Banchero had 22 points (8-18 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds and six assists across 37 minutes during Monday's 117-102 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero notched at least five assists for the third consecutive game, and he's on pace to exceed the 3.7 assists per game he averaged as a rookie. Banchero posted 2-of-8 shooting in the second half Monday, making improved crunch-time scoring an important component of his evolution.
Nov 5, 2023
Versatility prevails
Banchero notched 25 points (9-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-7 FT), seven rebounds, 10 assists, one block and one steal across 34 minutes during Saturday's 120-101 victory over the Lakers. He also had four turnovers.
ANALYSIS
Logging the first double-digit assist performance of his career, Banchero's well-rounded impact is an early season trend. He's notched at least four assists in all six of Orlando's contests thus far, while booming for 55 points, 16 rebounds, 15 assists, four steals and three blocks across his last two games.
Nov 3, 2023
Explodes for 30 points
Banchero finished with 30 points (9-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 11-15 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, two blocks and three steals across 36 minutes during Thursday's 115-113 win over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Banchero averaged 20.0 points per game as a rookie but finally reached that tally in this game, and in a big way, as his contributions carried the Magic to a tight win on the road. Without being downright bad, Banchero was enduring a slow start to the season, but this game might be what he needs to snap his low-scoring skid. He's averaging 16.0 points per game while shooting 44.8 percent from the field through his first five games.
Nov 1, 2023
Leads team with 15 points
Banchero had 15 points (5-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-8 FT), four rebounds, four assists and four steals across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 118-102 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero's production has been steady, but a breakout game has been elusive through four games. Still, the Duke product set a new season-high in points and steals and has provided good secondary numbers in the early going.
Oct 31, 2023
Quiet in loss
Banchero finished with nine points (4-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 0-2 FT), five rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes during Monday's 106-103 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero won't be happy with the start to his second season. Through three games, he has compiled averages of 11.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists while shooting a mere 37.5 percent from the field. He'll look to bounce back against the Clippers on Tuesday.
Oct 26, 2023
Limited impact as scorer
Banchero recorded 12 points (3-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one steal in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 116-86 victory over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Banchero didn't have his best performance in this season opener, but it's not like the Magic needed him, as Orlando cruised to a massive 30-point victory against the Rockets. One subpar outing is not going to define Banchero by any means, especially after a rookie campaign in which he averaged 20.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. While this is not the start of the season fantasy managers hoped for him, Banchero should remain the Magic's main offensive threat on a game-to-game basis as the season progresses.
Oct 18, 2023
Poor effort Tuesday
Banchero ended with five points (2-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block across 20 minutes in Tuesday's 104-92 preseason loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Banchero made his presence felt across the board but struggled massively as a scoring threat, though based on his track record, there's a strong chance this was nothing but an off night for the 2022-23 Rookie of the Year. Banchero will aim to build off a stellar rookie year in which he averaged 20.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
Oct 4, 2023
Team option exercised
The Magic exercised Banchero's third-year team option Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Banchero established himself as an integral part of Orlando's system during his rookie season last year, so it isn't surprising to see the team pick up his third-year option. He averaged 20.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 33.8 minutes per game while making 72 appearances during the 2022-23 campaign.
Oct 2, 2023
Healthy for start of camp
Banchero (illness) is healthy for the start of training camp, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero dealt with an illness to close out the FIBA World Cup in September, but he's back to full health as the Magic prepare for camp. The 20-year-old made 72 appearances for Orlando as a rookie last year and averaged 20.0 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 33.8 minutes per game.
Sep 10, 2023
Sidelined for World Cup finale
Banchero didn't play Sunday for Team USA during the FIBA World Cup third-place game against Canada due to an upper respiratory illness, Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brandon Ingram missed the semifinal matchup versus Germany on Friday due to the same issue, and it appears he passed it to Banchero and Jaren Jackson, who were both sidelined Sunday. All three players should be good to go for their respective training camps in October, but it was certainly a disheartening way to end a disappointing tournament for Team USA.
Apr 25, 2023
Named Rookie of the Year
Banchero won the 2022-23 NBA Rookie of the Year award on Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NBA draft and had a successful rookie season, missing only 10 games. He averaged the most points (20.0), third-most assists (3.7) and the fifth-most rebounds (6.9) among all rookies. However, Banchero will likely look to improve upon his 42.7 field-goal percentage and 29.8 three-point percentage in his sophomore campaign.
Apr 9, 2023
Ruled out Sunday
Banchero (back) will not play Sunday against Miami.
ANALYSIS
The Rookie of the Year favorite will miss a third straight game to conclude the season as the Magic jockey for lottery positioning and look to get increased run for some other young players. Banchero will finish the year with averages of 20.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 threes per contest in 72 games.
Apr 8, 2023
Considered questionable
Banchero (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Heat, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero has missed the Magic's previous two games due to back soreness. With Orlando officially out of playoff contention, expect them to err on the side of caution with their prized rookie if his health is not up to par as tip-off approaches. Still, more clarity on his status will come closer to game time.
Apr 7, 2023
Officially out
Banchero (back) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
After some confusion with Orlando's injury report, Banchero will officially miss both halves of the Magic's current back-to-back set. The rookie's final chance to suit up this season will come Sunday in Miami, but the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year will likely sit that contest out, as well.
Apr 7, 2023
Deemed questionable Friday
Banchero (back) has been upgraded to questionable for Friday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was initially ruled out for Friday's matchup, but he'll now be in the mix to suit up for the second half of the back-to-back set. He's posted double-doubles in three of his last four appearances, averaging 22.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 32.5 minutes per game.
Apr 6, 2023
Out again Friday
Banchero (back) won't play Friday against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Banchero will miss his second consecutive contest since the Magic have been eliminated from postseason contention. The rookie could possibly sit out the rest of the year to avoid the risk of further injury to his back. Expect Chuma Okeke and Bol Bol to see increased minutes Friday with Banchero unavailable.
Apr 6, 2023
Won't play Thursday
Banchero has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Cavaliers due to back tightness.
ANALYSIS
Now that the Magic have been eliminated from postseason contention, the team is listing each of its starters as out for the first half of a back-to-back set Thursday. Moritz Wagner, Chuma Okeke and Bol Bol are candidates to see increased run against Cleveland with Banchero sidelined.
Mar 31, 2023
Dominant against Washington
Banchero contributed 30 points (8-17 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 13-14 FT), 12 rebounds, six assists and three blocks across 34 minutes during Friday's 116-109 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
This was the sixth game of his rookie season with at least 30 points. Banchero's consistency and efficiency have trailed off late in the season, but he's been much better over the past two games. His playmaking has improved in recent games too, as he has a total of 27 dimes over the past five contests. He'll get a solid matchup against the Pistons on April 2.
Mar 23, 2023
Leading scorer in balanced outing
Banchero notched 21 points (7-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals across 34 minutes during Thursday's 111-106 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero paced Orlando in scoring, shots made and blocks while posting a team-high-tying steals total in a balanced performance that led to a win over New York. Banchero has surpassed the 20-point mark 37 times this season, including in two of his last three outings.
Mar 22, 2023
Teases triple-double Tuesday
Banchero recorded 18 points (6-9 FG, 6-6 FT), nine rebounds, eight assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Tuesday's 122-112 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
The rookie has nearly collected his first career triple-double twice in the last six games, as he posted a 17/10/9 line against the Heat on March 11. Banchero remains the favorite to win Rookie of the Year and is ending the season on an upswing, scoring in double digits in 10 straight games and averaging 21.6 points, 6.8 boards, 4.1 assists and 1.3 threes over that stretch.
Mar 20, 2023
Goes for 26 points in loss
Banchero totaled 21 points (8-20 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and three assists over 36 minutes during Sunday's 111-105 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
The rookie from Duke continues to be a solid scoring option for the Magic. He's had his foot on the gas since the All-Star break, averaging 21.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists over 12 games. Banchero's only demerit is at the free-throw line, where he's shown little improvement since his college days.
Mar 17, 2023
Comes close to double-double
Banchero had 18 points (7-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and two steals over 33 minutes during Thursday's 116-113 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Banchero wasn't entirely efficient from the field but still posted a decent stat line, finishing just two rebounds away from recording a double-double. The former Duke star hasn't looked as dominant as he did in the first two months of the season, but he's still the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award. Banchero is averaging 20.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game this season.
Mar 15, 2023
Scores team-high 27 points
Banchero posted 27 points (11-21 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds and one block across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 132-114 loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was efficient from the field en route to a team-high 27 points, marking his fifth 20-plus-point game over his past six appearances. During that stretch, the Rookie of the Year candidate is averaging 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 0.7 blocks in 35.2 minutes with 46/42/68 shooting splits.
Mar 12, 2023
Great facilitating
Banchero amassed 17 points (5-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 10 rebounds and nine assists across 43 minutes during Saturday's 126-114 overtime victory over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Banchero's nightly ability to piece together a scoring line is impressive. Even on an inefficient night with limited foul drawing, Banchero played an enormous role in the overall offense. His nine assists (9:3 AST/TO) mark a new career high.
Mar 10, 2023
Posts team-high 26 points
Banchero produced 26 points (8-17 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 7-11 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one block over 34 minutes during Thursday's 131-124 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Banchero got hot from deep and posted his fifth 20-plus-point game over his past six appearances. During that stretch, the Rookie of the Year candidate is averaging 23.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals-plus-blocks in 33.5 minutes.
Mar 6, 2023
Leads team in scoring
Banchero contributed 26 points (9-18 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-10 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 33 minutes during Sunday's 122-119 loss to the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero started off hot in Sunday's game against Portland, hitting his first seven shots, but then cooled off quite a bit in the second half. He still finished with a team-high 26 points on 50 percent shooting, continuing his solid production from his previous game. The rookie's field-goal percentage was starting to take a huge hit for a while, but he has improved his efficiency more recently, knocking down at least 50 percent of his shots in four of the last five contests. The same can't be said for his struggles from beyond the arc, which are still ongoing.
Mar 2, 2023
Held in check Wednesday
Banchero closed with nine points (4-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and two blocks across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 139-117 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Banchero dropped 29 points during Monday's win over the Pelicans, but he was held to a single-digit scoring total for the fourth time this season during Wednesday's defeat. The 20-year-old was able to salvage his fantasy production by remaining effective in rebounds and assists while also racking up two blocks, and he should have plenty of opportunities to bounce back in the coming games.
Feb 28, 2023
Steps up with 29-point outing
Banchero finished with 29 points (10-18 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 9-11 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal across 34 minutes in Monday's 101-93 win over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
After a stretch of lackluster outings prior to and immediately after the All-Star break, Banchero finally came through with the type of performance that has made him the frontrunner for the NBA Rookie of the Year Award at this stage of the season. The 29 points were his most in a game since Jan. 30, and though he came up empty from downtown for the sixth contest in a row, Banchero turned in better-than-usual efficiency from the field and charity stripe. For the season, Banchero is converting at a 42.1 percent rate from the field and 75.4 percent rate from the line, and his poor showings in both areas on heavy volume (15.5 field-goal attempts per game, 7.6 free-throw attempts per game) has made him a far more valuable commodity in points leagues than category leagues.
Feb 25, 2023
Modest performance Saturday
Banchero closed Saturday's 121-108 loss to the Pacers with 19 points (6-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 7-9 FT), six rebounds, one block and one steal over 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Banchero wasn't terrible in the loss, shooting at least 50 percent from the floor for just the second time in the past 14 games. While it has been a solid rookie season, his efficiency from both the field and the charity stripe remains an issue. Add to that the fact that he contributes very little on the defensive end and you are left with a viable 12-team asset with very little room to move in terms of overall value.
Feb 14, 2023
Rejects three shots in win
Banchero posted 22 points (8-18 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four rebounds, three assists and three blocks across 35 minutes in Monday's 100-91 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
After blocking just three shots in his last 13 games combined, Banchero came out of nowhere to match that total Monday. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect any consistent output in that category moving forward, but Banchero's return to the 20-point mark was an encouraging development after he had fallen below that threshold in six of the previous seven games while shooting 32 percent from the field. Banchero is now averaging an even 20 points per game on the season and should be able to bludgeon his way there on a regular basis moving forward on sheer volume alone, though fantasy managers should expect the scoring production to be accompanied by poor efficiency from the field and free-throw line.
Feb 12, 2023
Records double-double
Banchero notched 16 points (6-16 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 13 rebounds and one assist across 34 minutes during Saturday's 107-103 overtime loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Banchero needed 16 shots to score 16 points, and while he's been struggling with his shot of late, he continues to produce on both ends of the court while operating as a focal point on Orlando's offensive scheme. Banchero has three double-doubles over his last four games and is averaging 14.8 points with 9.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game across six February contests.
Feb 10, 2023
Grabs ninth double-double
Banchero provided 11 points (5-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 10 rebounds and two assists across 33 minutes during Thursday's 115-104 win over Denver.
ANALYSIS
Banchero took just four shots in the first half, knocking down two of them for four points to go along with four rebounds and an assist. He remained quiet on the offensive end over the final two quarters, going just 3-of-8 from the field for seven points, but did chip in another six boards to notch his ninth double-double of the season. The rookie forward has now grabbed double-digit rebounds in two of his last three contests, though he's failed to break the 20-point mark in four of five games to this month.
Feb 5, 2023
Double-double against Hornets
Banchero finished with 22 points (6-20 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 10-11 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists and one steal across 35 minutes during Sunday's 119-113 victory over Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
The rookie posted his first double-double in nearly a month and his eighth of the season. Banchero appears to be wearing down a bit, which isn't a big shock given the 20-year-old's workload so far, and over his last 10 games he's shooting just 34.7 percent from the floor and 22.8 percent from three-point range while averaging 17.5 points, 6.3 boards, 3.1 assists, 1.0 threes and 0.9 steals. He isn't likely to get much rest during All-Star Weekend, as Banchero is set to appear in the Rising Stars Game and could yet be named as an Eastern Conference alternate for the All-Star Game itself.

Struggles from field in win
Banchero posted 11 points (3-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-9 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal in 33 minutes during Friday's 127-120 victory over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
The game between Orlando and Minnesota will be remembered for the scuffle between Austin Rivers and Mo Bamba. However, it was also one of the worst games for Banchero -- at least from an efficiency perspective. The rookie continues to produce and has been a focal point of the Magic's offense all season long, but his percentages continue to move in the wrong direction. He's making just 40.2 percent of his shots and 29.6 percent from deep since the start of January.

Hits for 29 against Sixers
Banchero totaled 29 points (11-22 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 37 minutes during Monday's 119-109 victory over Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
It was a strong bounce-back performance from the rookie, who scored only nine points in Saturday's loss to the Bulls. Banchero might be hitting a bit of a wall -- he's scored 20 or more points only three times in the last 11 games, averaging 18.4 points, 5.5 boards, 2.9 assists, 1.5 threes and 1.4 steals over that stretch while shooting 41.2 percent from the floor.
Jan 26, 2023
Another 20-point game in win
Banchero recorded 23 points (6-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 9-10 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals over 36 minutes during Wednesday's 126-120 victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero wasted no time in getting the Magic rolling on offense, racking up 13 points in the first quarter on 3-of-4 shooting from the field while also going 6-of-6 at the free-throw line. He entered the half with 17 points, but added just one more bucket on six attempts over the final two quarters to finish second on the team with 23 points. After failing to reach the 20-point mark in six straight games, Banchero has now recorded 23 points in back-to-back contests. However, he's averaging just 5.5 rebounds per game this month and has grabbed three or fewer boards in two of his last three contests.
Jan 24, 2023
Scores team-high 23 against Boston
Banchero logged 23 points (7-13 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-9 FT), five rebounds and two assists over 36 minutes during Monday's 113-98 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
After failing to reach 20 points in six straight contests, Banchero raised his game against an elite opponent. The first overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft hasn't exactly hit the rookie wall, however. Banchero has scored in double digits in 12 straight games, averaging 19.8 points, 5.7 boards, 3.3 assists, 1.6 threes and 1.2 steals over that stretch.
Jan 20, 2023
Lethargic performance Friday
Banchero ended with 11 points (2-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 25 minutes during Friday's 123-110 win over New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was unusually passive in the victory, scoring fewer than 20 points for the fifth straight game. After a strong start to the season, Banchero has certainly slowed of late, sitting outside the top 160 over the past month. While he should be viewed as a must-roster player, his struggles shooting the ball have become a real issue when it comes to his overall appeal. With that said, poor shooting is nothing new when it comes to rookie players, so managers should not be at all surprised.
Jan 11, 2023
Claims seventh double-double
Banchero finished Tuesday's 109-106 win over the Trail Blazers with 19 points (5-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 8-10 FT), 10 rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block in 38 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Banchero tied a career high with five turnovers and his efficiency from the field left something to be desired, but he shot better than usual from the free-throw line and supplemented his offense with excellent production in the defensive categories. He's now nabbed at least one steal in five straight games and has recorded exactly three steals in two straight contests, bringing his per-game average up to 1.0 per game for the season. With the Magic guards getting healthier, however, Banchero has seen his assist rate plummet of late. He's surpassed five assists just once in Orlando's last 10 games.
Jan 8, 2023
Scores 25, hits four threes
Banchero supplied 25 points (9-20 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 31 minutes during Saturday's 115-101 win over Golden State.
ANALYSIS
Banchero had it going early, racking up 11 first-quarter points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field before going 3-of-3 for another eight points in the second quarter. It was a different story in the second half, however, as the rookie power forward knocked down just one of eight field goal attempts and three of four shots from the foul line for six points over the final two quarters. Despite his struggles in the second half, Banchero did connect on four three-pointers in the contest for just the second time this season and has now broken the 20-point mark in four straight.
Jan 6, 2023
Leads Magic with 30 points
Banchero totaled 30 points (10-20 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 8-9 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Thursday's 123-115 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Banchero had an awful first half shooting the ball, going just 2-of-9 from the field for eight points while adding five boards and two assists. However, the Magic forward wasted no time in turning things around in the second half, racking up 20 points in the third quarter alone on 7-of-9 shooting before finishing with a team-high 30 points on the night. It was Banchero's fourth 30-point game this season and he's also recorded at least 20 points in three straight.
Jan 5, 2023
Team-high 25 points in win
Banchero ended Wednesday's 126-115 win over Oklahoma City with 25 points (8-17 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-9 FT), eight rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 36 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Banchero didn't have a great first half shooting the ball, knocking down three of eight shot attempts for 11 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists. However, the Orlando power forward fared a little better in the second half with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field as the Magic closed out Oklahoma City down the stretch. Banchero led the Magic in scoring and also dished out a team-high seven assists in the contest. He's now reached the 20-point mark in two straight as the 2022 first overall pick continues his impressive rookie campaign.
Dec 28, 2022
Held in check against Lakers
Banchero ended Tuesday's 129-110 loss to the Lakers with four points (1-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal across 22 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Banchero had scored in double figures in his last 10 appearances, and he averaged 21.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 34.7 minutes per game during that time. However, he committed five fouls Tuesday and was limited to a season-low 22 minutes of playing time. Despite Tuesday's lackluster performance, Banchero has been a strong contributor for the Magic to begin his rookie season.
Dec 24, 2022
Scores 18 points in comfortable win
Banchero racked up 18 points (7-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds and four assists over 29 minutes during Friday's 133-113 win over San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
The rookie failed to reach the 20-point mark just for the third time this month, and while two of those contests have come in his last three appearances, his role as an elite scoring threat for the Magic remains completely settled. The star rookie is averaging 20.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game in December.
Dec 22, 2022
Double-double fuels victory
Banchero ended Wednesday's 116-110 victory over Houston with 23 points (9-20 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-8 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists and two steals across 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Banchero chalked up his sixth double-double of the season as the Magic got back in the winners' column following their last-up loss to the Hawks. He has also now scored at least 20 points in 11 of his past 12 games, establishing himself as the firm favorite to win rookie of the year. From a fantasy perspective, he does sit outside the top 130 in standard formats, although when punting his percentages, he slides well and truly into the top 80.
Dec 18, 2022
Leads from deep in 30-point showing
Banchero closed with 31 points (9-21 FG, 6-7 3Pt, 7-9 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals across 34 minutes during Sunday's 95-92 victory over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Banchero led the team in points, shots made and threes en route to his third 30-point performance of the season. Banchero tallied a season-high mark from deep, posting his highest point total since he scored a season-high 33 points Nov. 5. Banchero has scored 20 or more points in seven straight contests.
Dec 17, 2022
Another 20-point showing
Banchero recorded 20 points (5-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds, five assists and one steal over 37 minutes during Friday's 117-109 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Banchero tied his top mark of the season with three made triples, and he also reached the 20-point threshold for the sixth straight game. He's been able to produce across the board during this impressive stretch, averaging 21.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 36.2 minutes.
Dec 15, 2022
Hits for 20 again
Banchero ended with 20 points (6-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 6-7 FT), six rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals across 34 minutes during Wednesday's 135-124 win over Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
The top pick in the 2022 NBA Draft continues to deliver for the Magic, scoring at least 20 points for the fifth straight game and the eighth time in his last nine. Banchero is averaging 20.1 points, 6.1 boards, 4.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 threes over the latter stretch, recording two double-doubles along the way, and seemingly the only thing that might derail a Rookie of the Year campaign for the 20-year-old is further injuries.
Dec 11, 2022
Double-double Sunday
Banchero chipped in 20 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 6-8 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 37 minutes during Sunday's 111-99 win over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
After missing eight of his 10 shot attempts in the first half, Banchero was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field after halftime. It was his fifth double-double of the season and second in his last four games. Since returning from an ankle injury Nov. 25, he's averaging 19.8 points while making 44.6 percent of his shots, a tick below the 23.5 points and 46.1 shooting percentage he had in 11 contests before the injury.
Dec 7, 2022
Strong showing from the line in win
Banchero produced 23 points (5-13 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 13-14 FT), five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 116-111 overtime win over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero led the Magic in scoring while accounting for nearly half of the team's free throws in the overtime victory. Banchero has tallied 20 or more points in seven of his last 10 games, posting two straight games with more than 20 points and five rebounds.
Dec 5, 2022
Near triple-double performance
Banchero supplied 20 points (4-16 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 12-15 FT), 12 rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal across 33 minutes during Monday's 109-102 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero finished three assists shy of a triple-double, leading the team in assists and shots made at the free throw line against Milwaukee. Banchero has tallied a double-double on four occasions this season.
Dec 3, 2022
Puts up 22 points in loss
Banchero closed with 22 points (10-17 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal in 37 minutes during Friday's 107-96 loss to Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Banchero missed seven games in November but didn't miss a beat while on the sidelines, and the rookie forward has logged 30-plus minutes in each of his five appearances since returning to action, reaching the 20-point mark in his last three outings. He's averaging 22.6 points per game since the beginning of November, and he should remain a must-start player in all formats.
Nov 29, 2022
Goes for 24 points in loss
Banchero had 24 points (9-17 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 5-10 FT), four rebounds, five assists and two steals in 39 minutes during Monday's 109-102 loss to the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Banchero logged the most minutes since returning from injury and was one of the best players for the Magic, but that shouldn't be surprising given how impactful he's been as a rookie. Missing seven games didn't slow him down at all, and Banchero is currently averaging 22.9 points while shooting 46 percent from the field on the season.
Nov 28, 2022
Leads team in scoring
Banchero chipped in 18 points (7-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-6 FT), one rebound and one assist over 31 minutes during Sunday's 133-103 loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
By Banchero's standards, Sunday's effort wasn't his best, but it was enough to lead the team in Sunday's defeat. It may take a couple of games before he rookie returns to his pre-injury numbers, but it's only a matter of time before we see him breaking the 20-point barrier again.
Nov 26, 2022
Solid night in return
Banchero recorded 19 points (5-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 8-11 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Friday's 107-99 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Banchero didn't show many signs of rust after missing the last seven contests while recovering from a left ankle sprain, as he produced across the board. He had an average night from the field but managed to score eight of his 19 points from the charity stripe, where he's attempted 25 shots over his last two games. It's also worth noting that Banchero didn't appear to be on any type of minute restriction, logging a few more minutes than his season average (34.8).
Nov 25, 2022
Will start in return
Banchero is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero will return Friday after missing the last seven games due to a left ankle sprain. Banchero will take Chuma Okeke's (knee) spot in the starting lineup, who was filling in during the rookie's absence.
Nov 24, 2022
Slated to return Friday
Banchero (ankle) isn't listed on the injury report for Friday's game versus the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Banchero appears set to rejoin the action Friday after missing the previous seven contests due to a right ankle sprain. It's unclear if he will be limited upon his return to action, but Banchero should slot back into the starting five soon. When that happens, Chuma Okeke (knee) is the likely candidate to surrender his starting spot.
Nov 23, 2022
Returns to practice
Banchero (ankle) participated in Wednesday's practice, and his status for Friday's game against Philadelphia depends on how he responds to treatment, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero has missed the team's last seven games due to a left ankle sprain. The rookie forward was averaging 23.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 34.6 minutes across 11 games before going down to injury. If Banchero is unable to play Friday, he should be able to return for Sunday's game against the 76ers.
Nov 17, 2022
Out at least another week
Banchero said Wednesday that his ankle injury is progressing, but he expects to be sidelined for at least another week, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero has already missed four games due to a left ankle sprain. In the rookie phenom's absence, Chuma Okeke, Mo Bamba and Bol Bol should continue to see extended minutes. Based on Banchero's timetable, next Friday's game versus Philadelphia will be his first opportunity to return.
Nov 17, 2022
Will remained sidelined Friday
Banchero (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game versus the Bulls, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero will miss his fifth straight game due to a left ankle sprain. The 2022 No. 1 pick was averaging 23.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 34.6 minutes across 11 games before going down to injury. Banchero's next opportunity to play will be Saturday's game against Indiana.
Nov 16, 2022
Won't play Wednesday
Banchero (ankle) will not take the floor Wednesday versus the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Banchero didn't practice Tuesday, so even his questionable designation heading into game day felt like it was trending in the wrong direction. The budding rookie will indeed miss his fourth straight, pushing back his next possible return date to Friday in Chicago.
Nov 15, 2022
Questionable for Wednesday
Banchero (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's contest against Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Banchero has missed three consecutive contests due to an ankle injury and is trending towards a fourth absence after not practicing Tuesday. The No. 1 overall pick's availability against the Timberwolves will likely come down to a game-time decision, but if he's sidelined again, Chuma Okeke figures to draw another start.
Nov 15, 2022
Doesn't practice Tuesday
Banchero (ankle) didn't practice Tuesday, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero has missed three straight games due to an ankle injury and could be in jeopardy of missing a fourth after not practicing Tuesday. The No. 1 overall pick's lack of participation is a bit concerning after he was able to practice Saturday and was considered a game-time decision for Monday's contest. More information will likely be available when Orlando releases its initial injury report for for Wednesday's matchup against Minnesota.
Nov 14, 2022
Still out Monday
Banchero (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was considered a game-time decision for Monday's matchup after going through practice Saturday, but he'll officially be forced to miss a third consecutive game due to a sprained left ankle. His next chance to suit up will be Wednesday against Minnesota.
Nov 12, 2022
Game-time decision versus Charlotte
Banchero (ankle) went through practice Saturday and will be a game-time decision for Monday's game versus the Hornets, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Banchero has missed the Magic's last two games due to a left ankle sprain. The 2022 No. 1 overall pick does have the benefit of two days off to recover before Monday's game. If Banchero doesn't play Monday, his next opportunity will be Wednesday's game versus the Timberwolves.
Nov 11, 2022
Won't play Friday
Banchero (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Banchero will sit for a second consecutive game due to a sprained left ankle. Chuma Okeke will likely draw another start Friday, while Banchero's next chance to suit up will be Monday against Charlotte.
Nov 10, 2022
Questionable Friday
Banchero (ankle) is questionable to play in Friday's game versus the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Banchero also missed Wednesday's matchup with the Mavericks due to a left ankle sprain. Chuma Okeke started Wednesday's contest in the absence of the 2022 No. 1 pick. If Banchero can't play Friday, his next opportunity to play will be Monday against the Hornets.
Nov 9, 2022
Out Wednesday
Banchero (ankle) is out Wednesday against the Mavericks, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie sprained his left ankle during the second half of Monday's loss to the Rockets. Wednesday marks the first absence of his career. Given his usage rate, value should open up in daily fantasy formats. Chuma Okeke has seen the most minutes with Banchero off the floor, while Wendell Carter sees the biggest usage rate jump at plus-8.5 percent. Franz Wagner leads the team in usage at 30.2 percent without Banchero on the court.
Nov 8, 2022
Questionable Wednesday
Banchero is questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Mavericks with a left ankle sprain.
ANALYSIS
Banchero's injury comes after posting back-to-back outings with at least thirty points. If the 2022 No. 1 overall pick doesn't play Wednesday, Chuma Okeke should be in line for extended minutes. Banchero doesn't seem to have picked up a serious injury and should be able to play Friday against the Suns if he can't go against Dallas.
Nov 8, 2022
Drops 30 on Rockets
Banchero closed Monday's 134-127 loss to the Rockets with 30 points (8-16 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 12-14 FT), six rebounds, four assists and two steals in 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The first overall pick in the 2022 draft continues to dazzle, and Banchero has scored at least 30 points in two straight games. The 19-year-old is averaging 23.5 points, 8.3 boards, 3.6 assists and 1.0 threes through 11 games to kick off his NBA career, and he seems poised to give the Magic the kind of elite scoring threat the franchise hasn't had since Tracy McGrady's heyday.
Nov 6, 2022
Records first 30-point game
Banchero supplied 33 points (14-26 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 16 rebounds, four assists and one block across 40 minutes during Saturday's 126-123 overtime loss to the Kings.
ANALYSIS
Banchero led the way in scoring for the Magic on Saturday, recording eight or more points in each quarter outside of the first and overtime. The 33 points were both a team and career-high for the rookie, as were his 16 rebounds, while he turned the ball over just one time in the contest. Perhaps the only downside to Banchero's otherwise-sensational start has been his three-point shooting, as he's just 1-of-14 from behind the arc over his last four games.
Nov 4, 2022
Grabs 22 points, eight boards
Banchero closed with 22 points (8-17 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-9 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block over 36 minutes during Thursday's win over the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Banchero struggled to generate any offense early, finishing the first half with just four points on 1-of-6 shooting from the field. He came out firing in the third quarter, knocking down five of six shots for 12 points as the Magic fought their way back with 43 points in the period. Banchero finished the game with 22 points, second on the team to only Jalen Suggs and has now recorded 20 or more points in seven of nine games to open his rookie campaign.
Oct 30, 2022
Poor shooting performance
Banchero ended with 18 points (6-20 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 5-8 FT), three rebounds and four assists over 32 minutes during Sunday's 114-105 loss to the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Banchero failed to reach the 20-point mark for the first time this season and had a rough outing from the field, but this might have been nothing more than a bad performance from the star rookie. He's been Orlando's best player by a wide margin in the first two weeks of the campaign and should bounce back when facing the Thunder on Tuesday.
Oct 28, 2022
Another 20-point outing
Banchero notched 21 points (8-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-7 FT), 12 rebounds and seven assists across 27 minutes during Friday's 113-93 victory over Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Banchero posted his sixth straight 20-point game to lead Orlando in scoring and finish with a near triple-double. Banchero's double-double was the second of the season, also posting his highest shooting percentage since the season opener Oct. 19.
Oct 26, 2022
Leads Magic in another loss
Banchero finished with 29 points (10-19 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-8 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 103-92 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
The star rookie has been even better than advertised, and aside from leading the Magic in scoring in what ended up being another dreadful loss, the fact that he's started his NBA career with five straight games of at least 20 points simply can't go unnoticed. Banchero has proven to be more than just a scorer, though, and he had registered at least five rebounds and/or assists in all but one of his contests to date. While the Magic are bound to struggle all season long, Banchero should be an excellent fantasy option regardless of the format.
Oct 22, 2022
Grabs 20 points, 12 boards
Banchero registered 20 points (6-18 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal across 34 minutes during Friday's 108-98 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Banchero again proved on Friday night that he can do a little bit of everything, grabbing six rebounds, two assists and a steal and a block, all within the first quarter. He finished the game with three blocks and has now recorded at least 20 points and two blocks in each of his first two NBA starts. Banchero didn't have a great night shooting the ball, going just 6-of-18 from the field, though he did knock down seven of eight free-throw attempts.
Oct 20, 2022
Shines in debut
Banchero notched 27 points (11-18 FG, 5-7 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and two blocks across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 113-109 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Banchero was spectacular in his regular-season debut, grabbing a game-high 27 points while also tying Franz Wagner for the team-lead in assists with five. The first overall pick went 3-of-3 from the field in the first quarter, though 18 of his points came in the second half. He'll look to carry that momentum into another road game on Friday against the Hawks.
Oct 15, 2022
Stuffs stat sheet in win
Banchero notched 17 points (6-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists and a steal across 27 minutes in Friday's 114-108 preseason win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
The highly-touted rookie ended the preseason on a strong note and once again proved he's more than ready to play at the NBA level. Expect him to be one of Orlando's go-to players on offense on most nights while also making an impact on the defensive end due to his length and athleticism.
Oct 11, 2022
Scores 17 points in win
Banchero amassed 17 points (6-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-5 FT), nine rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes in Tuesday's 109-105 victory over Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Thirteen of Banchero's 17 points came in the first half as he attempted only three shots in 13 second-half minutes. Tuesday's performance was arguably his best of the preseason and was the first time he made more than half his shots and grabbed more than five rebounds. The 19-year-old is averaging 13.3 points while making 43.5 percent of his field-goal attempts and going 17-for-18 from the charity stripe in four preseason games.
Oct 6, 2022
Collects three steals
Banchero scored nine points (3-8 FG, 0-1 3 Pt, 3-3 FT) with five rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes against the Spurs on Thursday. He also added three steals.
ANALYSIS
Banchero didn't shoot the ball particularly well on Thursday night, but he did show his versatility by contributing in multiple stat categories. He stole a pass from Deven Vassell early in the first quarter and also recorded a steal in both the second and third quarters. Banchero dished out three assists as well, including a nice pass to Jalen Suggs for a three in the third quarter to tie the game. On the downside, the 2022 first-round pick was charged with four personal fouls in three quarters of action.
Oct 4, 2022
Struggles from field in Magic debut
Banchero finished with eight points (2-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block over 24 minutes in Monday's loss to the Grizzlies in his NBA preseason debut.
ANALYSIS
Banchero started and ranked second on the team with 24 minutes in the exhibition opener, but he had difficulty getting his shot to fall. The No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft looked much better in a pair of contests in the Las Vegas Summer League, so there's little point in reading too much into Monday's subpar showing. He'll likely go through some rookie growing pains, but Banchero figures to see ample opportunity this season and is an interesting target in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts.

He'll likely go through some rookie growing pains, but Banchero figures to see ample opportunity this season and is an interesting target in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts.

Starting preseason debut
Banchero will start Monday's preseason game against the Grizzlies, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
The Magic will go with a big lineup featuring Banchero at small forward alongside Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter. Cole Anthony and Jalen Suggs will get the nod at the guard spots, while both Franz Wagner (rest) and Markelle Fultz (toe) sit out. When Wagner is available, Banchero will likely slide up to his more natural power forward spot, but his skill set should enable him to play both positions for a Magic team stocked with frontcourt depth.

Finished with Summer League
Banchero will not be active for Orlando's remaining two Summer League games, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
The No. 1 overall pick shined across his first two professional appearances, averaging 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. The Magic will now look to get other players involved in their remaining two Summer League games while Banchero rests on the sidelines. The Magic made it clear that the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft is not dealing with an injury.
