Fontecchio will move to the bench for Tuesday's game against the Bulls.

The Pistons are starting Isaiah Stewart in the frontcourt alongside Jalen Duren, while Ausar Thompson will start at small forward. Fontecchio has been excellent since arriving to Detroit and is likely to play a key role off the bench.

Even though Fontecchio has not been able to replace Bojan Bogdanovic's contributions, there's no question he's made his presence felt while immediately grabbing a starting role. He has scored in double figures in four of his last five appearances since joining Detroit via trade, averaging 15.4 points and shooting 38.7 percent from the field from three-point range in that stretch. It's a small-sample size, but it shows he's worth targeting in most formats, particularly if he remains in a starting role.

Fontecchio contributed 18 points (7-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and two steals over 21 minutes during Wednesday's 116-100 loss to the Suns.

Fontecchio led all Pistons players in scoring while connecting on a pair of threes as well as a team-high-tying field goal total en route to ending two points short of the 20-point mark in a losing effort. Fontecchio has recorded at least 18 points in six games this season, including in two of his last three outings.

Fontecchio will be available for the first time since his trade from Utah. The Pistons are in desperate need of shooters, so there's a good chance that Fontecchio carves out a nice role for himself.

He is by no means a must-roster player but is doing enough to be considered, especially if points are not a priority.

Making his 12th consecutive start, Fontecchio matched his highest playing time since Jan. 8. His scoring has been inconsistent of late, but he profiles as the only true wing on Utah's roster with the ability to defend multiple positions, which should maintain his healthy rotation role moving forward.

Fontecchio's continues to start and log his normal workload, but he finds himself in a 4-for-16 mini-slump from beyond the arc over Utah's last three games. The Italian has blossomed into a relevant two-way contributor in his second season with the Jazz, however, making him a slight bounce-back candidate moving forward. Across 20 games as a starter this season, Fontecchio is averaging 11.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists while hitting 36.7 percent of his threes.

Fontecchio racked up 24 points (10-16 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals in 29 minutes during Monday's 127-90 victory over Dallas.

Fontecchio started in his second straight game for the Jazz, and he matched his season-best mark of 24 points while finishing two points shy of his career high (26). The Jazz have used a lot of different starting lineups this season, but Fontecchio is making a strong case to keep his spot. In 16 total starts this season, Fontecchio holds averages of 12.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.3 three-pointers.

Fontecchio is starting Saturday's game against the Heat, radio voice of the Jazz, David Locke, reports.

Fontecchio has come off the bench in his team's last three contests, but he'll get another opportunity with the first unit Saturday evening. He drew 14 straight starts during a stretch between Nov. 25 to Dec. 21, averaging 11.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 28.4 minutes (14 games).

Fontecchio has started eight games in a row for the Jazz, and he seems to be enjoying the uptick in playing time, considering Lauri Markkanen (hamstring), John Collins (illness) and Walker Kessler (foot) have been missing time of late. Fontecchio will not have the same fantasy upside as some of the names above, even if he settles into a starting role, but he might be a decent plug-and-play option if he keeps scoring in double digits regularly. On that note, Fontecchio has reached 10 or more points in five of those eight starts.

Fontecchio registered seven points (2-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, three assists and one block in 24 minutes during Wednesday's 147-97 loss to the Mavericks.

Fontecchio was held below 10 points for a second consecutive matchup Wednesday, but he played just 24 minutes in the blowout loss, his lowest mark since joining the starting lineup in late November. Even though he's had a slight decrease in scoring over his last two outings, the 27-year-old has averaged 11.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 28.7 minutes per game over his six appearances since taking on a starting role.

Fontecchio logged 14 points (4-9 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 28 minutes during Monday's 114-112 win over the Pelicans.

The Jazz are now 2-0 with Fontecchio and Omer Yurtseven in the starting lineup, and the absence of Lauri Markkanen (hamstring) has effectively illustrated Utah's depth at multiple positions. Although the 6-8 Italian will return to the bench when Markkanen returns, it will be interesting to see if Fontechhio's efficient play will earn more time in a platoon with John Collins.

While Fontecchio had a successful rookie campaign in 2022-23, his 33.0 three-point percentage is something he will look to improve upon. Fontecchio is expected to compete for a backup forward role this season and should see plenty of playing time throughout the preseason.

Fontecchio provided 20 points (8-18 FG, 4-11 3Pt), nine rebounds and two assists in 31 minutes during Sunday's 128-117 loss to the Lakers.
