Considering the starting point guard spot is his to lose, it would be nice to see a bit more consistency in his assist numbers, as he is averaging 6.7 per game but hasn't had more than five in any of the last three contests.

Jones stepped things up on the offensive end, going for a career-high 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting. Typically known as a pass-first player, Jones was obviously feeling frisky in this one, allowing his shooting to do the talking. With the Spurs down on troops, Jones has been able to put up top-50 value over the past two weeks. While he is a clear must-roster player, this could also be a nice time to try and sell high, before the Spurs start getting healthy bodies back on the floor.

Utah turned the game into a blowout by halftime, allowing Jones and some of the Spurs' other lightly-used players to pick up some more run than usual. Jones produced well during his time on the court, but he'll likely be held out of the rotation if Friday's game in Sacramento proves more competitive.

Jones is starting Sunday's game against the 76ers, Dan Weiss of Fox Sports Southwest reports.

Jones was a DNP-CD in each of the last four matchups, but he'll make his first career start with Dejounte Murray (knee) unavailable Sunday. Jones has averaged 1.9 points in 5.4 minutes per game this year.

The rookie was absent for a third straight matchup. Previously, Jones appeared in four consecutive games from April 17 to April 22 totaling 11 points and five assists.

Jones tallied four points (2-3 FG), one assist and one steal during Monday's loss to Cleveland.

The rookie logged his first appearance since Wednesday, as Jones posted his highest scoring outing since dropping eight points against the 76ers on March 14. Jones has totaled just six points and five assists across his past seven games played.

Jones supplied eight points (4-8 FG) and three assists across 17 minutes Sunday in a 134-99 loss to the Sixers.

The Sixers established a commanding lead, which allowed backups like Jones to play more than usual. He took advantage of said opportunity by distributing multiple assists for the first time in his NBA career. Jones is not expected to provide much output unless veterans Dejounte Murray or Patty Mills are hurt. Even under those circumstances, the rookie will unlikely supply meaningful value.

Jones had two points (1-1 FG) and one assist during Tuesday's win over the Knicks.

Jones mustered his first points in nearly a week, as the rookie recored just three minutes off the bench in this one. Jones has now totaled six points over the past four games.

Jones was assigned to the Austin Spurs of the G League on Sunday, Jeff Garcia of News 4 San Antonio reports.

The rookie second-round pick averaged 3.0 minutes in nine appearances this season, and he'll head to the G League to receive more regular playing time.

Jones signed a three-year, $4.2 million contract with the Spurs on Friday.

Jones became the first second-round pick from this year's draft class to receive a three-year contract before Xavier Tillman agreed to a four-year deal with Memphis on Saturday. The 6-foot-3 point guard from Duke will likely battle Patty Mills for the top backup job at point guard during training camp.
