Wendell Carter Injury News & Updates
Keep up with the latest injuries from the Heat vs Magic game today with our National Basketball Association injury report.Dec 8, 2025
Quiet in loss
Carter recorded eight points (2-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds and three assists across 33 minutes during Sunday's 106-100 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
This was a mild effort for Carter as the Magic picked up their second loss over their last three games. Carter's fantasy appeal remains limited to late-round territory -- through 23 regular-season games, he's averaging 11.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.7 blocks and 0.6 steals.
Dec 2, 2025
Strong showing in win
Carter finished Monday's 125-120 win over the Bulls with 17 points (6-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter has made a three-pointer in all but one of his last seven games, averaging 12.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.9 blocks in that span, also shooting 54.7 percent from the field and 47.4 percent from three. He has been very efficient with the ball in his hands, possibly primarily due to open looks generated by his teammates, but Carter has shown that he can be an elite fantasy player and should be rostered in most formats.

Removed from injury report
Carter (ankle) is off the injury report for Tuesday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Carter sat out Sunday's game against the Celtics with an ankle sprain, but the injury has proven to be of minimal concern. He's averaged 12.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 29.9 minutes per tilt across 17 games this season. Orlando Robinson is likely to return to the bench Tuesday.
Nov 23, 2025
Won't play Sunday
Carter (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Celtics, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss his first game of the season on the second half of the back-to-back Sunday while battling a left ankle sprain. In his absence, the Magic will likely turn to Goga Bitadze to start at center.
Nov 23, 2025
Questionable Sunday
Carter (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Carter is dealing with a left ankle sprain that leaves his availability uncertain for the Magic's second half of the back-to-back Sunday. The center has started all 17 games this season, and if he's unable to go, Goga Bitadze would be the likely candidate to draw a spot start.

Double-doubles vs. Golden State
Carter logged 17 points (5-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and one steal over 35 minutes during Orlando's 121-113 win over Golden State on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Carter led both teams with 12 boards (including four on the offensive glass), which were his most since Nov. 1 against the Wizards. It was the fourth double-double of the season for Carter, who is now averaging 12.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.7 steals over 30.3 minutes per game to open the 2025-26 regular season.
Nov 16, 2025
Swats season-high four shots
Carter contributed 15 points (5-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists, four blocks and one steal in 37 minutes before fouling out of Sunday's 117-113 overtime loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
The four swats are a season high for Carter, who also filled the box score Sunday. The veteran big man has been a solid if unspectacular fantasy option in 2025-26, and he should be rostered in the majority of leagues. Carter has averaged 12.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 blocks in 29.9 minutes per contest through 14 games this season, and he's shooting 52.7 percent from the floor.
Nov 10, 2025
Pours in season-high 19 points
Carter racked up 19 points (8-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and two blocks over 30 minutes during Monday's 115-112 victory over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Carter put together his best scoring game of the young campaign, beating his previous top mark of 18 points, which he reached Friday against Boston and Oct. 30 against Charlotte. He nearly secured his third double-double of the year, falling just one board shy. Carter has now scored in double figures in six straight matchups.
Nov 10, 2025
Drops 12 in loss
Carter closed with 12 points (4-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 32 minutes during Sunday's 111-107 loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Carter extends his double-digit scoring streak to five, and has not scored below eight points all season. In 10 games, Carter is averaging 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.7 blocks and 1.4 threes made.
Nov 1, 2025
Posts strong double-double
Carter collected 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt), 12 rebounds and two blocks in 28 minutes during Saturday's 125-94 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Carter looked sharp on the offensive end, knocking down 70.0 percent of his tries from the field while continuing to find success from beyond the arc. The Duke product has now drilled two or more triples in three straight matchups. Carter hasn't been overly impressive in the scoring column so far this year, but he's come alive of late, posting 18 and now 16 points in back-to-back games.
Oct 31, 2025
Strong line in win
Carter closed with 18 points (6-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block in 27 minutes during Thursday's 123-107 win over Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Carter put up a season-high 18 points in the win, helping the Magic improve to 2-4 on the season. Apart from a dud in his previous outing against Detroit in which he fouled out in 15 minutes, Carter has been solid this campaign. Through six games, he's averaging 10.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.7 blocks and 1.2 three-pointers in 27.9 minutes per contest.
Oct 24, 2025
Serviceable performance Friday
Carter provided 10 points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-11 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two steals across 31 minutes during Friday's 111-107 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Carter put together another decent performance, falling two rebounds short of a double-double. While he certainly hasn't set the world on fire with his early-season production, the signs are encouraging. He is firmly penciled in as the starting center, and to this point, Goga Bitadze hasn't done much to press his case. The upside is somewhat limited but as long as his role is secure, Carter should be able to hold backend value in standard leagues.
Oct 23, 2025
Nears double-double in win
Carter posted nine points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-5 FT), eight rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block over 30 minutes in Wednesday's 125-121 victory over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Carter led the team with five offensive rebounds and played 11 more minutes than fellow big man Goga Bitadze. Once Moritz Wagner (knee) returns, however, there is no guarantee that Carter will retain this kind of usage, but in the meantime, Carter provides value that fantasy managers should monitor moving forward.
Oct 10, 2025
Double-doubles in win
Carter finished with 20 points (6-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 8-9 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists and one block across 21 minutes during Friday's 128-98 preseason win over the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Carter put on a show in only 21 minutes on the floor Friday. The Duke product led the way for his squad in points and rebounds, finishing with the only double-double of the game while helping lead his team to a 30-point blowout win.
Oct 5, 2025
Efficient in limited run Saturday
Carter contributed 10 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and two blocks across 13 minutes in Saturday's 126-118 preseason win over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Carter was one of six Magic players to score double-digit points and one of three to record multiple blocks. The 26-year-old center is coming off a down season in which his usage rate dropped to a career-low 16.1 percent, and that trend may continue with Desmond Bane now in the mix. Carter averaged 9.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists across 25.9 minutes per game in a career-high 68 regular-season appearances (51 starts) in the 2024-25 campaign.
Apr 13, 2025
Will play Sunday
Carter (hip) is available for Sunday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Carter and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (knee) will play, while Franz Wagner (knee) and Paolo Banchero (ankle) will not. It's unclear if Carter will play the entire game after sitting out Friday's win in Indiana for rest purposes.
Apr 12, 2025
Questionable for season finale
Carter (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Hawks, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter didn't play in Friday's game against the Pacers due to a right hip contusion, and it was the first game he had missed since Nov. 25. However, with Orlando locked in as the seventh seed in the East, Carter and the rest of the starters could be held out of Sunday's regular-season finale. Carter's absence would mean more playing time for Jonathan Isaac and Goga Bitadze.
Apr 11, 2025
Out for Friday
Carter (hip) will not play Friday against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Carter will be sidelined for the first time since Nov. 25. He was previously carrying a questionable tag, so presumably, he's day-to-day. It remains to seen if he'll play Sunday against the Hawks for the final game of the season. In the meantime, Jonathan Isaac and Goga Bitadze will likely soak up some additional minutes.
Apr 10, 2025
Questionable for Friday
Carter (hip) has been listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Carter is dealing with a right hip issue, which could result in him missing Friday's game in Indiana. If he's ruled out, Jonathan Issac and Goga Bitadze will likely get more minutes on the floor.
Apr 9, 2025
Fills stat sheet admirably
Carter ended Tuesday's 119-112 victory over the Hawks with 17 points (6-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, three blocks and six steals across 37 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner led the way for the Magic on the offensive end of the court, but Orlando wouldn't have secured the victory without the impressive contributions of Carter. Not only did the big man fill the stat sheet, but he also recorded two or more tallies in each of the five major categories, and he established new season-high marks in both steals and blocks. He's averaging 10.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.3 blocks per contest over his last 10 outings.
Mar 31, 2025
Ties season highs in defeat
Carter finished Monday's 96-87 loss to the Clippers with nine points (4-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, three steals, two blocks and one assist over 31 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter stuffed the stat sheet on the defensive end Monday, tying his season highs in both blocks and steals during the loss. Additionally, the big man recorded multiple swipes and swats for the first time this season. However, the 25-year-old was inefficient from the field, and he has shot only 39.7 percent from the floor across his last eight outings.
Mar 28, 2025
Logs 12 points in loss
Carter supplied 12 points (5-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, two blocks and one assist across 28 minutes during Thursday's 101-92 loss to Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Carter delivered a fairly efficient performance after shooting only 40.0 percent from the field in his last two appearances. Additionally, the 25-year-old swatted multiple shots for just the sixth time through 61 regular-season outings. The big man posted double-digit points for the fourth game out of his last six, during which he has averaged 10.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks across 28.2 minutes per contest.
Mar 22, 2025
Records double-double
Carter amassed 16 points (7-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt), 12 rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 29 minutes during Friday's 120-105 win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Carter moved into the starting lineup after the All-Star break, and while this was only his third double-double over his last 15 appearances, it was also the second time he achieved this feat in the Magic's past three games. It's hard to trust Carter in most fantasy formats from a scoring perspective, especially since he holds a secondary role in Jamahl Mosley's scheme. Still, he's finding ways to remain productive, particularly in a position where the drop in talent is sizable after the elite options.
Mar 17, 2025
Posts strong double-double
Carter closed with 16 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 14 rebounds and one assist in 35 minutes during Sunday's 108-103 win over Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Carter was solid on both ends of the court and notched his ninth double-double of the season. Furthermore, the big man finished just one board shy of matching his season-high mark in that category. Carter is averaging 9.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.6 blocks per game in eight games since the beginning of March.
Mar 11, 2025
Big night on glass
Carter amassed eight points (2-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and one block in 30 minutes during Monday's 97-84 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
It's the first time in March that Carter has pulled down double-digit boards. The 25-year-old center moved back into the starting lineup coming out of the All-Star break, and while he remains inconsistent he has seen a slight uptick in his production. During that 10-game stretch, Carter is averaging 9.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 combined blocks and steals in 27.6 minutes a contest.
Mar 7, 2025
Efficient outing in defeat
Carter produced 17 points (5-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 26 minutes during Thursday's 125-123 loss to Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Carter delivered an efficient performance from the field Thursday, recording 17-plus points for just the third time on the season. The big man also sank two three-pointers, marking his fourth game with multiple triples through 51 regular-season appearances. Carter has started in each of the club's last eight outings since the All-Star break, during which he has averaged 10.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists across 26.9 minutes per contest.
Mar 3, 2025
Comes close to double-double
Carter posted 14 points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 7-8 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and one block over 32 minutes during Sunday's 104-102 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Carter had to deal with the threat of Jakob Poeltl, who posted a solid stat line, but he still filled the stat sheet admirably, ending one board away from recording what would've been his first double-double since Feb. 12. Carter has started in each of the Magic's last six games and he's done a solid job, averaging 10.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and a combined 1.5 steals-plus-blocks per game in that stretch.
Feb 27, 2025
Hauls in 14 boards Thursday
Carter finished Thursday's 121-115 loss to the Warriors with nine points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt), 14 rebounds, four assists and one steal over 27 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter led both teams in rebounding Thursday, with five of his boards coming on the offensive side of the floor, and he was one point shy from registering his ninth double-double of the season. He has started in each of the Magic's last five games, and over that span he has averaged 9.6 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals over 26.9 minutes per game.
Feb 25, 2025
Grabs six boards in defeat
Carter had nine points (4-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal over 26 minutes during Tuesday's 122-82 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Carter drew his fourth consecutive start Tuesday, leading the Magic in rebounds during the blowout loss. The 25-year-old has scored in single digits in two of those four appearances, though he has recorded at least nine rebounds in three of them. Over his last four outings, Carter has averaged 9.8 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals across 26.8 minutes per contest.
Feb 21, 2025
Hauls in 15 boards vs. Atlanta
Carter totaled nine points (4-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 15 rebounds and one block across 32 minutes during Thursday's 114-108 victory over the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
It was Carter's first start since Jan. 27, and he took advantage by finishing Thursday's game as the leading rebounder and was one point shy from registering his eighth double-double of the regular season. Carter's fantasy value should be higher for as long as he remains in the starting five while Goga Bitadze serves in a reserve role.
Feb 20, 2025
Back in starting lineup
Carter is in the starting lineup in Thursday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
It'll be Carter's first start since Jan. 25, forcing Goga Bitadze to head to the bench Thursday. Over 26 games with Orlando's first unit in 2024-25, Carter has averaged 8.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.9 steals in 27.4 minutes, so he should have some heightened fantasy value against Atlanta.
Feb 7, 2025
Leads Orlando in defeat
Carter amassed 19 points (7-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds and one steal over 26 minutes during Thursday's 112-90 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Carter led the Magic in points during a low-scoring affair. However, the big man struggled to fill the stat sheet, recording fewer than five rebounds for the first time since Jan. 12. Carter has come off the bench in each of his last five appearances, averaging 10.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.8 steals across 24.6 minutes per contest.
Feb 4, 2025
Records seven assists
Carter ended with six points (3-4 FG), nine rebounds and seven assists in 28 minutes during Monday's 104-99 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Carter matched his career-best mark of seven assists and played 28 minutes compared to 20 for starting center Goga Bitadze. This is a position battle to monitor, but it's worth noting that Bitadze has strung together a few duds in a row. Carter's stats haven't jumped off the page either, to be fair, as he's averaging 8.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists over his last three games with a total of one steal and zero blocks.
Jan 30, 2025
Moving to bench
Carter isn't in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Carter found success with the first unit while Goga Bitadze recovered from a concussion, averaging 11.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals over seven starts, but the Duke product will return to a bench role now that Bitadze is a full go. Carter will certainly see chances to produce off the bench and should log between 20-to-25 minutes behind Bitadze.
Jan 28, 2025
Plays 36 minutes in loss
Carter accumulated 14 points (5-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Monday's 125-119 double-overtime loss to the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Goga Bitadze returned to action Monday, but saw 22 minutes compared to 36 for Carter. The double overtime inflated this number, however, and Bitadze was likely on some restrictions. Despite this strong showing for Carter, the presence of Bitadze will make this a position battle worth monitoring closely.
Jan 19, 2025
Balanced outing in double-double
Carter racked up 16 points (6-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 14 rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals in 34 minutes during Sunday's 113-100 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Carter did it all for Orlando in Sunday's contest, leading all Magic players in scoring and rebounds to go along with team-high-tying marks in assists and steals in a double-double performance. Carter tied a season high in rebounds, a mark he last tallied Oct. 23. Carter has posted a double-double on four occasions, his first with at least five assists to go along with double-figure scoring and rebound totals.
Jan 17, 2025
Flirts with double-double in loss
Carter ended Friday's 121-94 loss to the Celtics with 15 points (4-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 6-10 FT), nine rebounds and three assists over 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter held things down in the paint for Orlando in Friday's contest, leading all Magic players in rebounds while finishing one board shy of a double-double in a losing effort. Carter has recorded 15 or more points in four contests this season while hauling in nine or more boards in 10 outings.
Jan 16, 2025
Double-double against Bucks
Carter closed with 12 points (3-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and two steals across 33 minutes during Wednesday's 122-93 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
It was the third double-double of the campaign for Carter, who moved back into the starting five Wednesday with Goga Bitadze (concussion) unavailable. The 2018 first-round pick was already seeing his production rise with Moritz Wagner (knee) done for the season, and Carter could get another boost in the short term while Bitadze is sidelined. Through eight games (two starts) in January, Carter is averaging 10.1 points, 6.3 boards, 1.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.8 threes in 24.8 minutes a contest.
Jan 15, 2025
In first unit
Carter is part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Carter will make his first start since Jan. 1 due to Goga Bitadze's (concussion) absence. In 19 starts this season, Carter is averaging 7.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists across 26.0 minutes.
Jan 7, 2025
Very efficient Monday
Carter racked up 19 points (8-11 FG, 3-3 3Pt), two rebounds, four assists and one steal across 26 minutes during Monday's 103-94 win over New York.
ANALYSIS
Carter played off the bench despite the fact the Magic are very thin when it comes to their frontcourt depth, but he made his presence felt as a scoring weapon. Carter seems to be trending in the right direction and could be a solid streaming option regardless of his role, as he's scored in double digits in four of his last five outings.
Jan 3, 2025
Not starting Friday
Carter is not in the Magic's starting lineup for Friday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Carter has started in the last two games and has averaged 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals over 30.5 minutes per game over that span. However, he will retreat to the bench Friday while Caleb Houstan enters the starting lineup for the first time this season.
Jan 2, 2025
Comes close to double-double
Carter produced 15 points (7-15 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals across 34 minutes during Wednesday's 105-96 loss to Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Carter finished just two rebounds away from recording what would've been his third double-double of the season. He's scored in double digits in his last two starts, and he should remain in that role going forward due to the Magic's lack of depth in the frontcourt, or at least until Paolo Banchero (oblique) is ready to return.
Dec 29, 2024
Reaches double figures in start
Carter produced 13 points (6-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-4 FT), six rebounds and one assist across 27 minutes during Sunday's 102-101 win over the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Carter returned to the Magic starting lineup due to numerous injuries on the roster, and put forth a balanced effort Sunday while finishing as one of five players with a double-digit point total. Carter has tallied at least 10 points and five rebounds in seven contests this season. Look for Carter to continue to get extended playing time as Orlando aims to get healthy.
Dec 29, 2024
Back in starting lineup
Carter will start Sunday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
After three games off the bench, Carter will move back into the starting lineup, as the Magic will be without Anthony Black (back), Paolo Banchero (oblique), Franz Wagner (oblique) and Moritz Wagner (knee). As a starter this season, Carter has averaged 7.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.4 steals-plus-blocks in 25.5 minutes per game.
Dec 23, 2024
Balance outing in return to bench
Carter racked up 11 points (5-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt), seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks across 27 minutes during Monday's 108-104 win over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Carter returned the Magic bench due to Trevelin Queen entering the starting five, but still made a strong impact while leading all bench players in scoring, rebounds, assists and blocks in a winning effort. Carter has reached double figures in scoring in six outings this season, adding seven or more boards in every one of those contests.
Dec 23, 2024
Bumped to bench
Carter won't start Monday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Carter will come off the bench for the first time this season, yielding to Trevelin Queen in the starting five. With Moritz Wagner (knee) out for the season, the Magic could opt to stagger Carter and Goga Bitadze's playing time moving forward to preserve center depth. Despite coming off the bench, expect Carter to see a significant workload Monday.
Dec 21, 2024
Ejected Saturday
Carter was ejected from Saturday's game against the Heat after being assessed two technical fouls in the second quarter. He finished the game with five points (2-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt), a rebound, an assist and a block across 13 minutes.
ANALYSIS
The Magic saw Moritz Wagner (knee) depart earlier in the game with a non-contact knee injury and now Carter is gone, so they'll be extremely thin in terms of depth at center. This means Goga Bitadze and Jonathan Isaac will see even more minutes in the frontcourt.
Dec 20, 2024
Shows signs of life
Carter contributed 10 points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 6-9 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists and one block over 30 minutes during Thursday's 105-99 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Carter secured his first double-double since Oct. 28 despite a rough shooting night from the field. It's been a struggle for the Duke product to produce on a consistent basis, and it's clear that the team's starting center, Goga Bitadze, is performing at a higher level across the board at this point in the season. Even so, perhaps Thursday's showing will be a stepping stone to a hot stretch for the 25-year-old, who has yet to live up to expectations this year.
Dec 11, 2024
Passive performance in loss
Carter notched eight points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 34 minutes before fouling out of Tuesday's 114-109 loss to Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
Carter continues to play a passive role on the offensive end of the floor, having now scored single digits in five straight games. Since returning from injury, Carter has been forced to play at the power forward position alongside Goga Bitadze. While Bitadze continues to play some of the best basketball of his career, Carter has been relatively disappointing.
Nov 28, 2024
Plays alongside Bitadze in return
Carter (foot) recorded four points (2-5 FG, 0-3 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 18 minutes in Wednesday's 133-119 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Back in action after missing the previous 12 games due to left foot plantar fasciitis, Carter reclaimed a spot in the starting five, but he was operating under a minutes limit. Unlike his previous six starts of the season, Carter was deployed at power forward while Goga Bitadze retained a spot on the top unit at center. It's unclear if the Magic plan to move forward with the two-center starting five for the duration of Paolo Banchero's (oblique) absence, as Carter didn't provide Orlando with much floor spacing by going 0-for-3 from downtown. Regardless of how head coach Jamahl Mosley elects to structure his lineups in future games, Carter will likely see at least a slight uptick in playing time as he becomes further removed from the foot issue.
Nov 27, 2024
Starting, on minutes limit
Carter (foot) will start Wednesday's game against the Bulls but will be on a limit of roughly 14-16 minutes, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter has missed nearly a month with left foot plantar fasciitis. Even though he'll be limited in his first game back, it's encouraging that he's with the starters. In five appearances prior to his injury, Carter averaged 8.8 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals in 29.8 minutes. His return will most likely result in reduced roles for Moritz Wagner and Goga Bitadze.

Carter sustained a left plantar fascia strain during the second quarter of Sunday's 108-85 loss to Dallas, in which he posted six points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two steals, two assists and one rebound across nine minutes. The big man is also dealing with ongoing right knee tendinitis, and it would not come as a surprise to see him sit out in the second day of a back-to-back set. If Carter is unable to play Monday, Moritz Wagner will likely handle an increased workload.
Nov 3, 2024
Won't return Sunday
Carter has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against Dallas due to a left plantar fascia strain, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter hobbled off the floor in the second quarter, which could also be attributed to his ongoing right knee tendinitis on top of the new issue with his left heel. The big man played through the knee pain, though the new heel injury is a cause for concern moving forward. Carter's next chance to suit up will come Monday against the Thunder on the second day of a back-to-back set. in the 25-year-old's absence, Moritz Wagner will likely shoulder an increased workload.

Logs first double-double of season
Carter produced 11 points (3-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 32 minutes during Monday's 119-115 victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Carter has registered at least 10 rebounds or more in each of the first four games of the regular season, but Monday's game was his first reaching double-digit scoring. He isn't expected to produce a lot of points on a night-to-night basis while playing alongside Paolo Banchero, Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner (illness), but Carter provides value with his rebounding and steals.
Oct 27, 2024
Grabs 10 boards in loss
Carter contributed three points (1-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and one block over 31 minutes during Saturday's 124-111 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old struggled from the field while going up against Memphis' frontcourt of Jaren Jackson, Zach Edey, and Jay Huff. Carter's fantasy value is mostly reliant on rebounds, steals and blocks, and the return of Jonathan Isaac (hip) could mean a slight drop in playing time. The big man has yet to post double-digit points in three regular-season games, though he already has three outings with 10-plus rebounds and two matchups with two steals.
Oct 19, 2024
Modest performance in return
Carter compiled 10 points (5-8 FG, 0-3 3PT), seven rebounds, one assist and one block in 21 minutes during Friday's preseason loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Carter returned to action after suffering an ankle sprain earlier in the preseason, moving straight into the starting lineup. A perennial underperformer, Carter will be looking to establish himself as a noteworthy center this season. He will have Moritz Wagner and Goga Bitadze clipping at his heels, both of whom have proven they can serve as viable starting options. As he is penciled in as the starter, Carter is worth considering as a late-round pick in drafts.
Oct 18, 2024
Gets starting nod
Carter is in the starting lineup for Friday's preseason game versus the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Carter will replace Goga Btiadze in the starting lineup Friday after missing time with an ankle sprain. However, Carter is unlikely to receive a full workload until the regular season rolls around.
Oct 18, 2024
Set to play Friday
Carter (ankle) is available for Friday's preseason finale against the 76ers, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Status for Friday TBD
Coach Jamahl Mosley said Carter went through live work during Tuesday's practice, but the center's status for Friday's preseason finale against the 76ers remains to be determined, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter is considered day-to-day after spraining his left ankle during Monday's preseason loss to the Pelicans. Even if he isn't cleared to suit up for the preseason finale, it appears like Carter is on track for the start of the regular season. However, the big man has appeared in more than 60 regular-season games only once in his career, so Orlando may proceed cautiously.
Oct 9, 2024
Inactive Wednesday
Carter (ankle) is out for Wednesday's preseason game versus San Antonio.
ANALYSIS
Carter's next opportunity to suit up for preseason action comes Oct. 18 versus Philadelphia, as Friday's game against New Orleans has been canceled due to inclement weather in the area. Orlando will likely exercise an abundance of precaution with the 25-year-old ramping up in advance of the regular season.
Oct 8, 2024
Considered day-to-day
Carter (ankle) is considered day-to-day after getting confirmation he suffered a sprained left ankle during Monday's preseason loss to the Pelicans, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter has struggled to stay healthy, playing more than 60 regular-season games only once during his six-year career. However, it appears he avoided a serious injury after appearing visibly frustrated while getting helped off the court Monday. The Magic have three preseason games left until they open the regular season against the Heat on Oct. 23
Oct 7, 2024
Inks three-year extension
Carter (ankle) agreed to a three-year, $59 million contract extension with the Magic on Monday, ESPN Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter is expected to play a sizable role this season in Orlando's frontcourt, and this deal only confirms the confidence the team has in the 25-year-old. The Duke product is looking to bounce this season after a down 2023-24 campaign, averaging 11.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 made threes in 55 regular-season appearances.
Oct 7, 2024
Undergoing imaging on ankle
Head coach Jamahl Mosley told reporters following Monday's preseason game against the Pelicans that Carter will get imaging on his left ankle ahead of Wednesday's exhibition contest against the Spurs, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter sprained his left ankle during Monday's preseason game, and he was visibly frustrated as he was helped to the locker room. It seems unlikely that Carter would play Wednesday, and the imaging on his ankle will determine his availability for the rest of the preseason.
Oct 7, 2024
Suffers ankle sprain
Carter suffered a sprained left ankle during Monday's preseason game against the Pelicans and was unable to return, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports. He finished with four points (2-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), six rebounds and one steal in 20 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter needed help to get to the locker room and was visibly frustrated about the injury. Carter has had some tough luck with injuries in the past, so this is something for fantasy managers to watch closely. It wouldn't be surprising to see Carter missing Wednesday's preseason contest against the Spurs even if this is just a minor issue.
Oct 1, 2024
Practices Tuesday
Carter (hand) practiced Tuesday, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter underwent surgery in May to stabilize the third metacarpal in his left hand, but as expected, he'll be available to start the 2024-25 campaign. The big man was wearing a wrap around his left hand during Tuesday's practice, so there may still be limitations early on, but Carter's full participation is still encouraging at this point in the season.
May 11, 2024
Undergoing offseason surgery
Carter will undergo surgery to stabilize the third metacarpal in his left hand, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reported Saturday. Carter is expected to make a full recovery ahead of the 2024-25 season.
ANALYSIS
In simpler terms, Carter will have a procedure to fully fix his left hand -- the same hand he sustained a fractured middle finger on early this season -- and is expected to be ready for the 2024-25 campaign. Carter missed a month and a half after sustaining the injury in November -- which required surgery -- but was able to return and appear in 55 games (48 starts) overall. He's set for re-evaluation four weeks after the procedure.
May 6, 2024
Close to double-double in Game 7
Carter produced 13 points (5-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and three steals across 35 minutes during Sunday's 106-94 loss to Cleveland in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Carter started each of Orlando's final five games of the series and scored in double digits in three of those starts, so it's safe to say he was an upgrade over Jonathan Isaac, who started in the first two contests. Across his five starts in the series, Carter averaged 8.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.
May 1, 2024
Productive across the board
Carter closed Tuesday's 104-103 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with seven points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal across 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Despite a quiet night offensively, Carter still had a big impact on the game, particularly on the boards and on the defensive end. He's had a tough series overall, however, as he's averaging just 5.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists through the first five games.
Apr 28, 2024
Sinks two triples in win
Carter provided 11 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 24 minutes during Saturday's 112-89 win over Cleveland in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
ANALYSIS
Carter started both wins in Orlando after coming off the bench during the two losses in Cleveland. The big man totaled just 11 points on 21.4 percent shooting through the first three games, so his efficient offensive production was a surprising bright spot for the Magic. Jonathan Isaac, who Carter replaced in the starting lineup, popped for 14, seven boards and two blocks during the Game 4 win, so it's safe to assume both players are more comfortable in their current roles.
Apr 25, 2024
Starting in Game 3
Carter is in the starting lineup to face the Cavaliers on Thursday, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter was the starting center for the majority of the regular season, and he will slot back into that role as the Magic attempt to shake things up ahead of a pivotal Game 3 at home. Carter has averaged 10.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in a starting role this season.
Apr 20, 2024
Coming off bench
Carter will play a reserve role in Saturday's Game 1 matchup with the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Carter was nursing back issues heading into the playoffs and also came off the bench in Orlando's regular season finale. He was not on the injury report heading into Game 1, so it is unclear if the decision has anything to do with his back. Jonathan Isaac will again start at center in his place.
Apr 14, 2024
Available but not starting
Carter (back) has been cleared to play Sunday versus Milwaukee, but he is is not in the starting lineup.
ANALYSIS
It appears that Carter could profile as an emergency alternative Sunday, or operate on a limited workload after being limited to just four minutes of action while attempting to play through his ongoing back injury during Friday's loss to Philadelphia. Jonathan Isaac will run with the first unit against Milwaukee.
Apr 14, 2024
Game-time decision Sunday
Carter (back) is a game-time decision for Sunday's game against Milwaukee, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter's status is a swing factor for a contest with substantial meaning in the Eastern Conference standings, as Orlando is currently in a three-way tie for the fifth seed with a chance of slipping into the Play-In Tournament. Moritz Wagner is averaging 12.8 points and 5.0 rebounds in 21.1 minutes across 27 contests in which Carter has been unavailable this season.
Apr 13, 2024
Iffy against Milwaukee
Carter (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Carter is in danger of missing Sunday's contest after being held to just four minutes of action against Philadelphia due to back spasms. If the 24-year-old center is ruled out, Moritz Wagner and Goga Bitadze will likely receive increased playing time.
Apr 13, 2024
Limited to four minutes by injury
Carter (back) didn't return to Friday's 125-113 loss to the 76ers after exiting the game with 8:11 in the first quarter due to back spasms. He finished with four points (2-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) during his time on the court.
ANALYSIS
The Magic had listed Carter as questionable to return shortly after he suffered the injury, but he remained on the bench for the start of the second half and never checked back into the contest. After suffering the loss, the Magic are tied with the Pacers and 76ers for the fifth through seventh seed in the Eastern Conference standings, while the Heat sit one game behind in the eighth spot. With the Magic eager to avoid the Play-In Tournament by falling to the No. 7 or 8 seed, the team will hope to have Carter available for Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Bucks.
Apr 12, 2024
Heads to locker room
Carter is questionable to return to Friday's game against the 76ers due to back spasms.
ANALYSIS
Carter exited in the first half after experiencing back spasms and went straight to the locker room. Moritz Wagner and Goga Bitadze would be in line for more chances at center if Carter is unable to return.
Apr 8, 2024
Sniffs double-double
Carter had 11 points (5-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt), eight rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals over 34 minutes during Sunday's 113-98 win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Carter has been playing well of late and finished just two boards away from recording what would've been his fourth double-double over his last five appearances. He's averaging 13.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game since the beginning of April.
Apr 2, 2024
Another dominant display
Carter had 17 points (6-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-7 FT), 13 rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals across 31 minutes during Monday's 104-103 win over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Carter has recorded back-to-back double-doubles while making his presence felt on the defensive side of the ball as well, with two blocks and five steals in that span. Carter is not expected to be a go-to guy on offense in a scheme led by Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, but any contributions on offense will certainly boost his fantasy upside. He's averaging 10.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game over his last 11 contests.
Mar 30, 2024
Posts double-double in big win
Carter produced 15 points (4-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals in 28 minutes during Saturday's 118-88 victory over Memphis.
ANALYSIS
Carter was immense on both ends of the court Saturday, limiting Jaren Jackson to a four-point, four-rebound effort while also recording his seventh double-double of the campaign. The 13 rebounds were Carter's second-best mark of the season, and he also snapped a six-game stretch with single-digit scoring figures.
Mar 18, 2024
Held in check in win
Carter supplied nine points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one steal across 27 minutes during Sunday's 111-96 win over the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
This wasn't Carter's best showing, but it's worth noting that Moritz Wagner simply had the hot hand off the bench with 14 points in 18 minutes. Carter played really well in his previous three games with averages of 14.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists, so one dud isn't something to be overly concerned about.
Mar 10, 2024
Grabs 15 boards in loss
Carter recorded 13 points (5-13 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 28 minutes during Sunday's 111-97 loss to the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Carter's 15 rebounds marked a season high for the veteran. Although he's flirted with double-digit rebound totals several times, he's eclipsed that milestone just five times this season. Carter is nursing a persistent knee injury that's kept him on the injury report, so it's wise to confirm his status to ensure his presence in the starting lineup.
Mar 8, 2024
Back in starting lineup
Carter (knee) is officially starting at center in Friday's game versus the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Carter is returning from a one-game absence, which saw Goga Bitadze replace him in the starting lineup, The latter is returning to a reserve role, while Carter should take on his usual responsibilities in the front court assuming he has no setbacks with his knee.
Mar 8, 2024
Gets green light
Carter (knee) is available for Friday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Carter will return to action Friday after missing Wednesday's win over Washington and will likely push Goga Bitadze to a bench role. Before his absence, Carter had scored in double figures in nine of his last 11 appearances, averaging 13.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 26.4 minutes during that stretch.
Mar 8, 2024
Game-time decision Friday
Carter (knee) went through shootaround ahead of Friday's game versus the Knicks and will be a game-time decision, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter is officially listed as questionable Friday after missing Orlando's previous contest with right knee soreness. However, the 24-year-old big man's participation in shootaround is a good sign of his availability against the Knicks.
Mar 7, 2024
Deemed questionable for Friday
Carter (knee) is questionable for Friday's game against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Carter was held out of Wednesday's game against the Wizards with right knee soreness, allowing Goga Bitadze to start and play 25 minutes. If Carter ends up taking the floor Friday, expect him to reclaim his starting spot.
Mar 6, 2024
Won't play against Washington
Carter (knee) is out for Wednesday's game versus the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Carter has been downgraded from questionable to out Wednesday due to right knee soreness. Goga Bitadze will start in his absence. Carter's next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with the Knicks.
Mar 6, 2024
Questionable for Wednesday
Carter is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Wizards due to a sore right knee.
ANALYSIS
Carter must have tweaked his knee during Tuesday's game and is now in danger of missing the second leg of a back-to-back set. There won't be a shootaround Wednesday, so Carter is essentially going to be a game-time decision. If he's not able to give it a go, Moritz Wagner would get an opportunity to start and he'd make for an attractive streamer with a favorable matchup versus the Wizards.
Mar 6, 2024
Comes close to double-double
Carter closed Tuesday's 101-89 win over the Hornets with 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt), nine rebounds, one assist and one steal across 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter has gone four straight games without a double-double, but the big man continues to deliver strong numbers every time he steps on the court. Even though Carter holds a secondary role in Orlando's offensive scheme, he has scored in double digits in all but one of the team's seven games since the end of the All-Star break while grabbing at least seven boards in five of those appearances.
Mar 4, 2024
Plays well in win
Carter accumulated 19 points (5-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal across 31 minutes during Sunday's 113-91 victory over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Carter is off to a strong start in March after a relatively quiet February. During those 12 games, he averaged 12.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 three-pointers, and his defense took a step back with 0.3 blocks and 0.3 steals.
Feb 26, 2024
Posts double-double
Carter had 18 points (7-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 34 minutes during Sunday's 109-92 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Carter was tasked with replacing Paolo Banchero at power forward, a move that resulted in Goga Bitadze getting a spot start at center, and Carter performed well, racking up his second consecutive double-double -- and third of the month. Even though he's not going to anchor the team offensively, Carter has been a steady contributor for the Magic since returning to the starting lineup in mid-January, averaging 12.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game across his last 16 appearances.
Feb 25, 2024
Records double-double Saturday
Carter closed with 11 points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal across 22 minutes during Saturday's 112-109 victory over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Carter didn't get many offensive touches in what turned out to be a relatively low-scoring affair, but he made the most of his opportunities, missing just two shots from the field and recording his first double-double since Feb. 2. Carter is firmly entrenched as Orlando's starting center, but it's no secret that he holds a secondary role on offense, and his numbers back that up. He's averaging 12.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 0.2 blocks per game since the beginning of February.

Hits for 22 against OKC
Carter closed with 22 points (9-14 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds and one assist across 31 minutes during Tuesday's 127-113 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old center produced at least 20 points for the first time since Jan. 26, and the third time this season. Since moving into the starting lineup 12 games ago, Carter is averaging 13.1 points, 6.7 boards, 1.6 assists and 1,3 threes while shooting 56.3 percent from the floor.
Feb 3, 2024
Season best outing in double-double
Carter accumulated 18 points (6-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 12 rebounds and one assist over 37 minutes during Friday's 108-106 victory over Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Carter led all Magic players in rebounds while hauling in a season-high total en route to a double-double performance in a winning effort. Carter, who was one of five players with a double-digit point total, has recorded 10 or more rebounds in three games this year, all of which have ended in a double-double outing.
Jan 27, 2024
Strong performance despite loss
Carter provided 20 points (8-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals over 35 minutes during Friday's 107-106 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Carter continues to flip the script, scoring at least 15 points for the fifth time in the past six games. After falling off the fantasy radar, he has turned things around of late, putting up top 30 numbers over the past two weeks. Rumors of a trade continue to swirl, but for now, he should be viewed as a must-roster player across most formats.
Jan 22, 2024
Near double-double in loss
Carter racked up 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and two steals in 27 minutes during Monday's 126-99 loss to the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Like Sunday's game against the Heat, Carter was one rebound shy of notching a double-double. He's returned to the starting center spot for Goga Bitadze and Carter has shown solid production over those starts. He's averaging 15.3 points on 61.1 percent shooting (including 56.3 percent from three), 6.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists over 24.0 minutes per game in January.
Jan 21, 2024
Strong showing in starting lineup
Carter chipped in 17 points (7-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Sunday's 105-87 victory over the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Carter made his first start since Dec. 27 by finishing as one of three Magic players with 15 or more points and ending one rebound short of a double-double. Carter has recorded at least 15 points and nine rebounds in two games this year, scoring 15 or more points in five contests. Carter has stepped up for Orlando as of late, scoring at least 17 points in four straight appearances.
Jan 21, 2024
Returns to starting lineup
Carter will start Sunday's game against the Heat, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter will make his first start since Dec. 27, joining Markelle Fultz, Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero. Carter has played well over his last three games, posting 20.0 points and 6.3 rebounds in 23.0 minutes.
Jan 20, 2024
Big double-double off bench
Carter supplied 25 points (9-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-7 FT) and 11 rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench during Friday's 124-109 loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
No Orlando starter managed more than 16 points or eight rebounds in a game that wasn't as close as its final score indicated. The double-double was Carter's second of the season in 16 games, with the other coming back on Nov. 2. The 24-year-old center has been productive since returning from a knee injury that cost him five games in January, averaging 20.0 points, 6.3 boards and 1.7 threes in 23.0 minutes over the last three games while shooting 71.0 percent from the floor and 55.6 percent from beyond the arc. Goga Bitadze has remained the starter at center for now, but he played only 16 minutes Friday.
Jan 15, 2024
Surpasses restriction in return
Carter (knee) totaled 17 points (7-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one block across 19 minutes in Monday's 98-94 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Though head coach Jamahl Mosley said prior to the contest that Carter would be limited to 12-to-16 minutes in his return from a five-game absence due to right knee tendinitis, the center ended up slightly pushing past the playing-time restriction. Carter and starter Goga Bitadze (29 minutes) ended up playing the whole game at center, resulting in Moritz Wagner dropping out of the rotation. The Magic seem to like the shot-blocking presence that Bitadze brings on the top unit, and though he could continue to start for the time being, Carter may eventually end up working his way into a more even split of the minutes with Bitadze, if not the larger portion of a timeshare.
Jan 15, 2024
On restriction in return
Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley said Carter (knee) will be on a 12-to-16-minute restriction in Monday's game against the Knicks, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Orlando will be mindful of keeping Carter's workload in check while he makes his return from a five-game absence due to right knee tendinitis. Goga Bitadze will continue to start at center, but Carter could eventually supplant him atop the depth chart once he gets fully ramped up over the course of a few games.
Jan 15, 2024
Cleared to play
Carter (knee) will be available for Monday's game against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Carter has the green light to return from a five-game absence after making it through warmups without any setbacks. While no restrictions have been mentioned yet, Carter will come off the bench behind Goga Bitadze and the Magic will likely monitor him closely.
Jan 14, 2024
Questionable for Monday
Carter (knee) is questionable for Monday's game against the Knicks, Wendell Epps of Bally Sports Florida reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter is in danger of missing a sixth straight game due to right knee tendinitis. If he's sidelined again, Goga Bitdaze and Moritz Wagner should continue to garner increased roles.
Jan 13, 2024
Still out
Carter (knee) is out for Saturday's game versus the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss his sixth straight game Saturday with right knee tendinitis. His next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with the Knicks.
Jan 12, 2024
Ruled out Friday
Carter (knee) won't play in Friday's game versus the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Carter's absence streak will extend to five games Friday due to a knee injury. His next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with the Thunder.
Jan 11, 2024
Iffy against Miami
Carter (knee) is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Carter is in danger of missing his fourth straight game due to a knee injury. If Carter is ruled out, Goga Bitadze should draw another start.
Jan 8, 2024
Still out
Carter (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss a third straight game due to right knee tendinitis. Goga Bitadze and Moritz Wagner should continue to see increased roles until Carter is cleared to play again. Carter's next chance to suit up will come Friday in Miami.
Jan 7, 2024
Ruled out
Carter (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss a second straight game due to right knee tendinitis. However, Goga Bitadze (illness), Anthony Black (illness) and Markelle Fultz (knee) have been upgraded to available. Carter's next chance to suit up will come Tuesday versus Minnesota, but Orlando figures to be cautious with Carter, who's already missed extensive time this season due to multiple injuries.
Jan 6, 2024
Listed as questionable
Carter (knee) is considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Carter is in danger of missing his second straight game due to a knee issue. Goga Bitadze (illness) is also questionable, so there is potential for a thin Magic frontcourt. More clarity on Carter's status should come once he tests things out during pregame warmups.
Jan 5, 2024
Ruled out against Denver
Carter (knee) will not play in Friday's game versus Denver.
ANALYSIS
Carter will be held out Friday after making three straight appearances off the bench. Goga Bitadze is a late scratch Friday due to illness, so the Magic are likely going to rely heavily on Moritz Wagner.
Jan 4, 2024
Questionable against Denver
Carter is questionable for Friday's game against the Nuggets due to right knee tendinitis.
ANALYSIS
Carter has come off the bench in his last three appearances, averaging 10.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in 21.7 minutes per game. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available for Friday's matchup, but Goga Bitadze and Moritz Wagner will likely see additional minutes if Carter is out.
Jan 1, 2024
Efficient as scoring threat
Carter provided 17 points (6-7 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 24 minutes during Sunday's 112-107 loss to the Suns.
ANALYSIS
Carter came off the bench since Goga Bitadze was the starting center, but the big man made a strong case to recover his role with the first unit after missing just one shot from the field in just 24 minutes. Carter has scored in double digits just three times this season, and the 17-point output was his best mark of the campaign.
Dec 31, 2023
Available off bench
Carter (knee) is available for Sunday's game versus the Suns and will come off the bench, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter was unable to play Friday against the Knicks due to right knee tendinitis, but he'll be back in action Sunday with no reported restrictions. It will be interesting to see how he holds up, and it's worth noting that the Magic have a back-to-back set coming up on Tuesday versus the Warriors and Wednesday versus the Kings. With Carter coming off the bench, Goga Bitadze will remain with the starting unit.
Dec 30, 2023
Questionable Sunday
Carter (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Suns, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter was a late scratch prior to Friday's game against the Knicks. His status Sunday will depend on how his knee is feeling closer to tipoff. If the big man is ultimately unable to give it a go, Goga Bitadze would presumably once again replace him in the starting lineup. Carter averaged just 5.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.8 blocks across 21.0 minutes in five games after returning from a 20-game absence.
Dec 29, 2023
Late scratch Friday
Carter is out for Friday's game versus the Knicks due to right knee tendinitis.
ANALYSIS
Carter hadn't been on the injury report for Orlando but was ruled out shortly before tipoff against the Knicks. Goga Bitadze will replace him in the starting five. Carter's next chance to suit up is Sunday's matchup with Phoenix.
Dec 20, 2023
Will start in return
Carter (finger) will start Wednesday's game against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Carter will slide right into the starting lineup during his return from a 20-game absence due to a fractured finger on his left hand. Goga Bitadze will shift to the bench but should still garner a solid backup role, as Carter is expected to have a minor minute restriction for a few games.
Dec 19, 2023
Cleared for Wednesday
Carter (finger) has been removed from the injury report in advance of Wednesday's game against Miami.
ANALYSIS
Carter is set to be active for the Magic on Wednesday, marking the end of a 20-game absence due to a fractured third metacarpal in his left hand. Orlando's frontcourt has functioned at a high level with Goga Bitadze, Moritz Wagner and Jonathan Isaac stepping up, so Carter's workload upon his return will be worth monitoring.
Dec 19, 2023
Limited at practice again
Coach Jamahl Mosley said Carter (finger) went through portions of Tuesday's practice, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Mosley added that Markelle Fultz (knee) was also limited Tuesday, but the coach said Carter is closer to returning than Fultz. Carter has missed 20 straight games due to the fractured finger and will likely remain sidelined for Wednesday's contest versus Miami, though his official status for that contest won't be released until Tuesday afternoon. After Wednesday, Orlando heads out on a three-game road trip that begins Thursday in Milwaukee and ends Tuesday in Washington.
Dec 16, 2023
Won't play Sunday
Carter (finger) is out for Sunday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Carter's recovery has been slower than expected, and he is now set to miss a 20th straight game. The big man has been sidelined since early November due to a fractured finger, but he practiced in a limited capacity earlier this week, so he might be getting closer to a potential return. His next chance to play will come against the Heat on Wednesday.
Dec 14, 2023
Won't play Friday
Carter (finger) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Boston.
ANALYSIS
Carter has been sidelined since early November due to a fractured finger, but he practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday. While he'll be forced to miss another game Friday, he recently said he's "85-90 percent," so he appears to be closing in on a return. His next chance to suit up will be in a rematch against the Celtics on Sunday, but it's unclear whether he'll be given the green light by then.
Dec 13, 2023
Returns to practice
Carter (finger) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter hasn't played since Nov. 2 due to a fractured finger, but his return to practice, albeit in a limited fashion, is a positive step forward. Per Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel, Carter said he's "85-90 percent," so he'll likely log a few more practices before getting cleared for game action. Boston ends Week 8 with back-to-back games in Boston on Friday and Sunday, but it's unclear if Carter will be ready by then.
Dec 10, 2023
Still out
Carter (finger) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup against Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Carter hasn't played since Nov. 2 due to a fractured finger. Until he returns to practice, the talented big man can be considered doubtful, at best, for future contests.
Dec 7, 2023
Remains sidelined
Carter (finger) is out for Friday's game versus the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Carter's absence streak will extend to 17 games Friday as he deals with a fractured third metacarpal in his left hand. His next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Cleveland.
Dec 5, 2023
Listed out for Wednesday
Carter (finger) will not play in Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
This will be the 16th game in a row on the shelf for Carter. He recently had his cast removed and has been ramping up his individual work, but it's still unclear when he'll take the floor.
Dec 2, 2023
Ruled out for Saturday
Carter (finger) will not play in Saturday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
This will be the 15th game in a row on the shelf for Carter, though he's believed to be getting closer to a return. His next chance to play will be Wednesday against the Cavaliers.
Nov 30, 2023
Won't play Friday
Carter (finger) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Washington.
ANALYSIS
Carter will be sidelined for a 14th consecutive game due to a fractured third metacarpal in his left hand, but he returned to on-court individual drills during Tuesday's practice after having his cast removed. It's not yet clear when he'll return to game action, but he seems to be trending in the right direction.
Nov 28, 2023
Remains out
Carter (finger) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup against the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss a 13th straight game due to a fractured third metacarpal in his left hand. Goga Bitadze and Moritz Wagner are candidates for increased roles until Carter returns, which could be soon. Carter had his cast removed Tuesday, and the big man called it "one of the best days of [his] life." He immediately returned to on-court individual drills, but he still has some hurdles to clear before getting cleared for game action. Carter's next chance to suit up will come Friday in a rematch against Washington.
Nov 28, 2023
Making progress
Carter (finger) was spotted getting spots up during Tuesday's practice, source reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel, Carter got his cast removed Tuesday, and the big man called it "one of the best days of [his] life." He immediately got to work with individual drills but still has a few hurdles to clear before he's ready for game action. Carter missed a 12th straight game Sunday due to a fractured third metacarpal in his left hand, which has allowed Goga Bitadze and Mortiz Wagner to garner increased roles. However, when Carter is available, he'll presumably reclaim his starting spot and play a prominent role for a Magic team that's contending for a top seed in the Eastern Conference.
Nov 25, 2023
Still out Saturday
Carter (hand) won't play in Saturday's game versus the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss his 12th straight game Saturday due to a fractured third metacarpal in his left hand. His next chance to suit up is Wednesday's matchup with Washington.
Nov 23, 2023
Won't play Friday
Carter (finger) is out for Friday's game against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Not much of a surprise here, as Carter is getting closer to the three-week timeline to be reevaluated after suffering a fractured third metacarpal on his left hand earlier this month. His next chance to feature will come against the Hornets on Sunday, but his chances of actually featuring in that matchup are slim.
Nov 20, 2023
Not ready to return
Carter (finger) is listed as out for Tuesday's game against the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Carter is approximately three weeks removed from undergoing surgery to address a fractured third metacarpal on his left hand. The Magic were set to re-evaluate the center after three weeks, and while he could be cleared to resume basketball activities in the coming days, Carter looks like he may require some ramp-up time before he's deemed ready for game action. Expect Carter to miss both ends of the Magic's back-to-back set to begin the week, with Orlando returning to action Wednesday against the Nuggets following Tuesday's contest.
Nov 4, 2023
Will be re-evaluated in three weeks
Carter (hand) will undergo surgery to repair a fractured third metacarpal in his left hand and will be re-evaluated in three weeks, the Magic announced Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The fact that the injury occurred in Carter's non-shooting hand will allow him to have a quicker recovery, but his long-term status remains to be determined. Moritz Wagner has been serving as Carter's direct backup and is the top candidate to replace him in the starting lineup, with Goga Bitadze likely to experience an uptick in minutes as well.
Nov 3, 2023
Suffers hand fracture
Carter suffered a left hand fracture in Thursday's win over Utah and has no timetable for his return, Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
The full diagnosis of Carter's injury is a fractured third metacarpal of his left hand, and the course of treatment will be determined once the team returns to Orlando, as they have two more games in their West Coast road trip against the Lakers and Mavericks. Carter delivered his best game of the season Thursday after racking up 14 points (5-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and one block over 29 minutes. Fantasy managers should expect Moritz Wagner to move into the starting lineup, while Goga Bitadze, Jonathan Isaac and possibly Chuma Okeke could be in line for more minutes as well.
Oct 30, 2023
Falls short of double-double
Carter racked up eight points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds and one assist across 26 minutes during Friday's 102-97 victory over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
Carter has failed to score in double figures in back-to-back games to start the season. The veteran center should have more efficient shooting performances moving forward, as he has shot over 50 percent from the field in four straight seasons but is currently shooting just 35.3 percent from the field. While Carter's offensive production should increase, his lack of defensive stats has always been concerning. He hasn't averaged more than 1.5 steals-plus-blocks for a full season since 2019-20 when he was with the Bulls.
Oct 11, 2023
Paces team in preseason opener
Carter recorded 18 points (5-10 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 19 minutes during Tuesday's 122-105 preseason win over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Carter was lights out from deep during Orlando's preseason opener. The big man shot a career-high 35.6 percent from deep on 3.9 attempts per game last year, and while his increased range is a nice plus in fantasy, there are still some concerns with Carter's profile. He's struggled to stay healthy in his career, and his lack of defensive stats continues to be an issue. With that said, Carter is a walking double-double when healthy, so he can certainly be a nice add late in drafts.
Apr 10, 2023
Gets limited run in return
Carter (hip) played 16 minutes in Sunday's 123-110 loss to the Heat, finishing with zero points (0-3 FG, 0-3 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist and one steal.
ANALYSIS
Carter had missed the Magic's previous two games with left hip soreness, but he was able to finish the season on the court, albeit in a limited capacity. The fifth-year center wrapped up the 2022-23 campaign with averages of 15.2 points and 1.4 three-pointers -- both career highs -- to go with 8.7 boards, 2.3 assists, 0.6 blocks and 0.5 steals in 29.6 minutes per game over his 57 appearances.
Apr 9, 2023
Starting against Miami
Carter (hip) is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Heat, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter was initially listed as out for the season finale, but was upgraded to questionable Saturday and now will end up starting. It remains to be seen if he'll handle his usual workload, as the team's lottery odds are still in flux, meaning the flow of the game will probably determine Carter's involvement in this one.
Apr 8, 2023
Upgraded to questionable
Carter (hip) has been upgraded from out to questionable for Sunday's finale against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Orlando has now listed all five of its starters as questionable for the regular-season finale. It's possible some scoreboard-watching will take place, as the Magic's lottery odds are still somewhat in flux.
Apr 8, 2023
Out for finale
Carter (hip) will not play in Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Heat, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter's absence means his 2022-23 season has come to an end. He finished the year with averages of 15.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.6 blocks and 1.4 triples across 29.9 minutes in 56 games.
Apr 7, 2023
Now listed as out
Carter (hip) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
After being upgraded from out to questionable earlier Friday, Carter has now been ruled out again and will miss back-to-back contests. His next chance to suit up will come during Orlando's regular-season finale in Miami, but it seems likely the Magic will opt to give players like Bol Bol, Chuma Okeke and Goga Bitadze extended looks over thrusting Carter back into game action with nothing to play for.
Apr 7, 2023
Upgraded to questionable
Carter (hip) has been upgraded to questionable for Friday's matchup at Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Thursday night, the Magic ruled out Carter and the rest of the starting lineup for Friday's game but have decided to upgrade them all to questionable as of Friday morning. It's unclear why, given that Orlando ran out a skeleton crew against the Cavaliers on Thursday.
Apr 6, 2023
Out Friday
Carter (hip) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Carter will sit out for a second straight game alongside a majority of Orlando's typical starters, as the team has been eliminated from any postseason play. With Moritz Wagner (ankle) unavailable as well, expect Goga Bitadze and Bol Bol to see extended minutes Friday.
Apr 6, 2023
Late scratch Thursday
Carter is out for Thursday's game versus the Cavaliers due to left hip soreness.
ANALYSIS
With the Magic eliminated from making even the Play-In, many of their starters have been ruled out Thursday. Moritz Wagner, Goga Bitadze and Bol Bol are all candidates to see extended minutes in Carter's absence. The 23-year-old big man's next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with Brooklyn.
Mar 29, 2023
Turns away two shots in loss
Carter finished Tuesday's 113-108 loss to the Grizzlies with 14 points (5-10 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 29 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter has fallen short of a double-double in four straight games, but he's still chugging along nicely during that stretch with average or above-average contributions in six categories (15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers and 0.8 blocks per game, 55.8 percent shooting from the field, 84.6 percent from the free-throw line). The Magic are 4.5 games behind the Bulls for the final spot in the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament, but head coach Jamahl Mosley has thus far shown no inclination to shut down Carter or any of the team's other top contributors.
Mar 23, 2023
Top rebounder in near double-double
Carter logged 16 points (7-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 0-1 FT) and eight rebounds over 31 minutes during Thursday's 111-106 win over the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Carter led the Magic in rebounds while finishing as one of six players in double figures in scoring and ending two boards short of notching a double-double. Carter has posted at least 15 points with five or more rebounds on 29 occasions this year, including in six of his last seven outings.
Mar 18, 2023
Dominates in upset victory
Carter amassed 27 points (11-19 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three steals across 33 minutes during Saturday's 113-108 win over the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Carter was on a mission Saturday, Rocking a healthy double-double while adding season-high totals in both blocks and steals. Despite sitting outside the top 100 thus far this season, he has been putting up first-round value over the past two weeks. The Magic don't feel as though they are going to ease up down the stretch, meaning Carter should be locked into heavy minutes, barring any injuries.
Mar 12, 2023
Booms in win
Carter notched 27 points (12-17 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 42 minutes during Saturday's 126-114 overtime victory over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Carter (hip) looked to be fully healthy while logging a max workload. Miami had no answer for Carter inside, where he was a perfect 9-of-9 around the rim. Orlando's jumbo ball handlers kept Bam Adebayo away from Carter, helping enable his huge scoring effort.
Mar 10, 2023
Will be back in action Saturday
Carter (hip) is not on the injury report ahead of Saturday's game against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
The Magic's starting center will return following a three-game absence, so Moritz Wagner will presumably head back to the bench. Over Carter's past 10 appearances, he's averaged 15.0 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 28.0 minutes.
Mar 8, 2023
Sidelined again Thursday
Carter (hip) remains out for Thursday's contest versus the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Carter will skip a third consecutive tilt with soreness in his left hip, and the Magic don't have much reason to rush him back to action. Moritz Wagner should receive another start at center in his absence, with Goga Bitadze also potentially factoring in. Carter's next opportunity to return surfaces Saturday versus the Heat.
Mar 7, 2023
Downgraded to out
Carter (hip) has been ruled out for Tuesday's matchup against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss a second straight game due to left hip pain. In his absence, Moritz Wagner figures to draw another start. Carter's next chance to suit up will come Thursday against the Jazz.
Mar 6, 2023
Listed as questionable
Carter (hip) is questionable for Tuesday's matchup against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Carter was a late scratch ahead of Sunday's game against Portland due to left hip pain and is danger of missing a second straight contest. If that's the case, Moritz Wagner would likely draw another start at center.
Mar 5, 2023
Late scratch Sunday
Carter has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against Portland due to left hip pain.
ANALYSIS
Carter was announced as a starter, but the Magic downgraded him to out just minutes later. The severity of the issue remains unclear, but Moritz Wagner will enter the starting lineup in Carter's absence and figures to garner an increased role versus the Trail Blazers. Carter's next chance to suit up will come Tuesday against Milwaukee, but Orlando will likely release an update on his status following Sunday's game.
Mar 2, 2023
Second straight double-double
Carter logged 19 points (6-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 6-8 FT), 10 rebounds and one block in 24 minutes during Wednesday's 139-117 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Carter put together a solid first half with 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field to go along with six rebounds and a block. He added another seven points and four boards in the third quarter before sitting for all of the fourth while the Bucks ran away with their 16th consecutive win. Carter still finished with a game-high 10 rebounds and has now recorded a double-double in back-to-back games. He's also grabbed at least 10 boards in four straight.

Minutes down again Monday
Carter played 25 minutes and finished with 11 points (4-8 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and one steal in Monday's 101-93 win over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
After logging no fewer than 30 minutes in four consecutive games from Feb. 11 through 23, Carter has now received 18- and 25-minute workloads over his last two outings. Foul trouble contributed to the lighter playing time in the previous contest, and though he was charged with just three personals Monday, two came within the game's first two minutes. Carter ended up riding the bench for most of the first half as a result, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect the trend to continue so long as he can do a better job of avoiding early whistles in future games.
Feb 24, 2023
Tips in game-winner
Carter chipped in 14 points (5-13 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 32 minutes during Thursday's 108-106 victory over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Carter got off to a slow start offensively with five points on 2-of-8 shooting in the first half, but added five boards and two assists. The big man only took five more shots after the break, but made three of them for another nine points while grabbing another nine boards. He also played the role of hero in the fourth quarter, tipping in a missed layup from Paolo Banchero at the buzzer to seal up the home win for Orlando. Carter's 14 boards led the contest and it was his first time with double-digit rebounds in five games. He's now up to 14 double-doubles on the season.
Feb 15, 2023
Scores team-high 26 points
Carter chipped in 26 points (11-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-3 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 123-113 loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
Carter brought his offensive game Tuesday, popping off for a team-high 26 points, the most he has scored since early November. Contrary to what many might think, it's actually been a disappointing season for Carter, currently sitting outside the top 100 in standard formats. While his points and rebounds have been adequate, it's on the defensive end where he has come up short. To this point, he is averaging 1.0 combined steals and blocks, well below where managers would have expected. He remains a must-roster player but given his limitations, he isn't going to be for everyone.
Feb 10, 2023
Game-high 19 points in win
Carter logged 19 points (7-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-6 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block across 29 minutes during Thursday's 115-104 win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Carter got off to a solid start with 10 first-half points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor to go along with six rebounds and two assists. The big man remained efficient after the break, connecting on three of four field goal attempts to finish with a team-high 19 points, but surprisingly failed to record any rebounds over the final two quarters. Carter has now grabbed just six boards in each of his last two games, though he's still averaging 9.3 rebounds per game so far in the month of February.
Feb 5, 2023
Double-double in return
Carter amassed 20 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 12 rebounds and three assists over 29 minutes during Sunday's 119-113 victory over the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
The fifth-year center missed Friday's game due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot, but the breather did Carter some good as he scored 20 or more points for just the third time in 16 games since the beginning of January while delivering his 13th double-double of the season. Since the calendar flipped to 2023, the 23-year-old is averaging 14.1 points, 9.3 boards, 2.1 assists and 1.3 threes in 29.1 minutes a contest.
Feb 5, 2023
Starting against Charlotte
Carter (foot) is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Carter was considered questionable due to a foot injury, but he will return to the starting unit and should handle a full workload after missing Friday's game against Minnesota. He's averaging 13.7 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game since the start of January.
Feb 5, 2023
Iffy for Sunday
Orlando head coach Jamahl Mosley said Carter (foot) is considered a game-time call ahead of Sunday's game against Charlotte, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Carter doesn't appear on the Magic's most recent injury report released prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET opening tip, the team reportedly remains undecided if Carter will be able to play through the right foot plantar fascia strain that kept him sidelined for Friday's win over the Timberwolves. The same injury kept Carter on the bench for just over a month earlier this season, so the Magic could be inclined to err on the side of caution and hold the big man out once again. If Carter is ruled out Sunday, Moritz Wagner would likely move into the starting five and could take on major minutes while the Magic are already down another center in Mo Bamba, who will begin serving his four-game suspension in Charlotte.
Feb 4, 2023
Off injury report
Carter (foot) is off the injury report for Sunday's game against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Carter will return following a one-game absence due to right foot plantar fasciitis. Before that, he appeared in 15 consecutive games and averaged 13.7 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 29.1 minutes.
Feb 3, 2023
Won't play Friday
Carter will miss Friday's game versus the Timberwolves due to a right foot plantar fascia strain.
ANALYSIS
Carter wasn't on the initial injury report, but he has been added late due to his foot injury. Mo Bamba will claim the spot start Friday in his place, and Bol Bol and Moritz Wagner are also candidates to see some additional minutes.
Feb 1, 2023
Big night on glass
Carter posted nine points (3-10 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 13 rebounds and two assists across 33 minutes during Wednesday's 105-94 loss to the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
The 13 boards tied his season high as Carter just missed recording his 13th double-double of the year. The fifth-year center has been dealing with a foot issue, but it hasn't seemed to affect his play lately. In 15 games since the beginning of January, Carter's averaging 13.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 threes and 0.9 blocks.
Feb 1, 2023
Starting Wednesday
Carter (foot) is starting Wednesday against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Carter was considered a game-time decision Wednesday, but he'll be able to play despite his plantar fascia strain in his right foot. He's scored in double figures in his last six appearances, averaging 14.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 28.2 minutes per game during that time.
Jan 31, 2023
May sit Wednesday
Carter is questionable for Wednesday's game against the 76ers due to a plantar fascia strain in his right foot.
ANALYSIS
Carter missed 19 straight and 21 total games earlier in the season due to the foot issue but has started 14 consecutive contests, posting 14.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 28.9 minutes during that stretch. It appears like his listing on the injury report is simply a load management situation, but it's still concerning to see him back on the injury report for the first time in over a month. If Carter is sidelined, Moritz Wagner, Mo Bamba and Bol Bol would be candidates for increased roles.
Jan 26, 2023
Second straight double-double
Carter closed with 18 points (7-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 126-120 victory over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Carter had a solid first half all around, scoring 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor to go along with nine boards, two assists and a block. He added another seven points in the second half, but collected just one more rebound while also finishing with a game-high five turnovers. Carter has now recorded a double-double in back-to-back contests, shooting 65.2 percent from the field over that brief stretch.
Jan 24, 2023
Double-double in Monday's win
Carter posted 21 points (8-13 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 33 minutes during Monday's 113-98 victory over the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
It's Carter's 11th double-double of the season, five of which have come in January. The fifth-year center is averaging 14.0 points, 9.2 boards, 2.0 assists, 1.4 threes and 1.0 blocks in 10 games on the month as he gets closer to being the consistent double-double threat he was last season when he averaged a career-high 10.5 rebounds a game.
Jan 21, 2023
Off shooting night Friday
Carter registered two points (1-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt), nine rebounds and two assists across 24 minutes during Friday's 123-110 win over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Carter has posted a pair of lackluster showings in a row, falling to reach double digits in either of the last two tilts after doing so in his eight prior appearances. Given Carter's previous track record and his typical contributions in numerous categories, he's still worth starting in the vast majority of formats, even if he struggles on occasion.
Jan 14, 2023
Bags another double-double
Carter finished with 19 points (7-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block across 30 minutes in Friday's 112-108 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Carter claimed his fourth double-double over six January games and also ended a drought in the steals department that had lasted for seven contests. After he was initially brought back off the bench in late December following his return from a foot role, Carter has settled back into a consistent 30-minute starting role.
Jan 11, 2023
Reaches 20-point mark
Carter delivered 20 points (7-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and one block across 31 minutes in Tuesday's 109-106 win over the Trail Blazers.
ANALYSIS
For the first time since he returned to action Dec. 23 after an extended absence due to a foot injury, Carter hit the 20-point mark. While his injury has faded further in the rear-view mirror, Carter has steadily seen his production pick up, and he's now settled back into the consistent 30-minute starting role he held prior to his injury. The impending return of Jonathan Isaac (knee) will further muddle the Magic's crowded frontcourt, but both Carter and Paolo Banchero's minutes appear to be fairly solidified. Instead, players like Bol Bol, Moritz Wagner and Mo Bamba may have to compete with Isaac for what may be two available spots on the second unit when Orlando is at full strength.
Jan 8, 2023
Notches ninth double-double
Carter ended Saturday's 115-101 victory over the Warriors with 13 points (6-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt), 10 rebounds and three assists over 31 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter was already on his way to a double-double by the end of the first quarter with six points and five rebounds before going scoreless in the second quarter. He made up for his lack of offense in the third quarter, however, going 3-of-3 from the field for seven points while adding two rebounds and an assist as the Magic added to their lead heading into the fourth. Carter finished with a team-high 10 rebounds to notch his ninth double-double of the season and he's now scored in double figures in five straight.
Jan 6, 2023
Goes for 18 points in loss
Carter closed with 18 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and one block over 30 minutes before fouling out of Thursday's 123-115 loss to the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Carter had a solid game overall, knocking down four of seven field goal attempts in the first half for nine points before adding another nine in the second half on 3-of-5 shooting. The Magic's big man added seven boards and also went 2-of-4 from beyond the arc, though he did foul out for the fourth time this season with just over a minute left in the game. Carter has scored 15 or more points in six of his last eight contests, shooting 54 percent from the field over that span.
Jan 5, 2023
Grabs season-high 13 boards
Carter produced 13 points (4-9 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist and two blocks over 30 minutes during Wednesday's 126-115 win over the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
After scoring six first-quarter points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field, Carter had just five more field goal attempts over the next three quarters while also going 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. The Magic center did, however, rack up a game and season-high 13 rebounds on the night to notch his seventh double-double of the season as Orlando snapped its three-game losing streak. Carter also matched his season high with two blocks in the contest.
Jan 4, 2023
Gets starting nod
Carter is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Carter enters the starting lineup Wednesday with Bol Bol (COVID-19) and Moritz Wagner (suspension) out. Magic coach Jamahl Moseley said the 23-year-old big man won't be on a minutes restriction, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Dec 29, 2022
Suspended one game
Carter was handed a one-game suspension for his role in an altercation Wednesday against the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Carter and seven other Magic teammates were suspended for one game after they left the bench area during the scuffle. He'll be eligible to return Wednesday against Oklahoma City.
Dec 29, 2022
Strong showing off bench
Carter totaled 16 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 5-9 FT), eight rebounds and one assist across 24 minutes during Wednesday's 121-101 loss to the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old center was the only Magic bench player to score in double digits on the night. Carter has been eased back into action on the second unit after missing more than a month due to a foot injury, averaging 13.0 points, 5.0 boards, 2.3 assists and 1.0 threes in 20.7 minutes over three games since his return, but with Moritz Wagner likely facing a suspension following Wednesday's bench-clearing scrum, his return to the starting five could happen sooner than expected.
Dec 27, 2022
Leads bench in limited time
Carter logged 15 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and four assists in 19 minutes during Tuesday's 129-110 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Carter led Orlando's second unit in scoring while seeing limited minutes while working back from a foot injury, finishing as one of three Magic players with at least 15 points. Carter has scored at least 15 points in 11 games this season.
Dec 27, 2022
Will remain limited
Head coach Jamahl Mosley said Carter (foot) will remain on a minutes restriction during Tuesday's matchup against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Carter returned to action Friday following a month-long absence due to a foot injury, but he came off the bench and played just 19 minutes. Given Mosley's comments, the talented big man figures to see a similar role Tuesday, which should leave plenty of minutes available for Moritz Wagner and Bol Bol.
Dec 23, 2022
Coming off bench in return
Carter isn't starting Friday against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Carter will be available Friday for the first time in over a month, and coach Jamahl Mosley said before the game that the 23-year-old will be on an unspecified minutes restriction. Carter started in his first 15 appearances this year but will take on a bench role Friday while Moritz Wagner remains in the starting lineup.
Dec 23, 2022
Available with minutes restriction
Carter (foot) is available for Friday's game against the Spurs, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter participated in Friday's shootaround and will be back in action after missing just over a month with a foot injury. He averaged 32.9 minutes per game over his first 15 appearances of the year, but he'll face a minutes restriction during his first game back on the court. However, coach Jamahl Mosley didn't indicate how many minutes he expects Carter to play Friday.
Dec 22, 2022
Officially questionable for Friday
Carter (foot) holds a questionable designation for Friday's game versus the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Carter indicated earlier in the week that he was targeting Friday for his return to the floor. While the questionable designation doesn't guarantee that return, it certainly puts him in the conversation after being ruled out initially for contests dating back to mid-November. Given his lengthy stay on the sidelines, Carter could be eased back into action, but his return would likely eat into the minutes for Moritz Wagner and Mo Bamba.
Dec 19, 2022
Aiming to return Friday
Carter (foot) is angling to make his return Friday against the Spurs, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter last played back on Nov. 18 against Chicago, but his extended absence due to a strained right foot looks to be nearing its end. If this latest timetable holds up, Carter will miss Monday's game at Atlanta (he's already been ruled out), as well as Wednesday's game in Houston, before returning to action Friday night. Given the long layoff, it's very possible that Carter could face limitations for a few games, but fantasy managers are hoping that he'll quickly return to the 30-to-35-minute role he held through the first month of the regular season. In that time (15 games), Carter posted 16.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 threes in 32.9 minutes per game.
Dec 19, 2022
Won't play Monday
Carter (foot) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Carter hasn't played since Nov. 18 while rehabbing from a right foot strain. The talented big man said at the beginning of December that he was hoping to return to the court in the next week or two, but he's already surpassed that timeline and doesn't appear close to suiting up anytime soon. However, Orlando is content handling Carter's situation on a game-by-game basis, so look for another potential update when the Magic release their injury report for Wednesday's matchup in Houston.
Dec 1, 2022
Hopeful to return in 1-2 weeks
Carter (foot) said Thursday that his foot injury is feeling better and he hopes to return to the court in 1-2 weeks, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter has missed the last six games due to a strained right plantar fascia. In the meantime, Carter will continue to rest and receive treatment for his injury. Mo Bamba, Bol Bol, and Moritz Wagner should receive extended playing time until the 23-year-old big man can return.
Nov 29, 2022
Won't play Wednesday
Carter (foot) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Carter is slated to miss a sixth straight game due to a right plantar fascia strain. Chuma Okeke (knee) is also out and Mo Bamba (back) is listed as questionable, so Bol Bol, Moritz Wagner and Caleb Houston will once again be candidates for increased roles.
Nov 28, 2022
Still sidelined Monday
Carter (foot) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Carter continues to deal with a right plantar fascia strain and will be unavailable for a fifth consecutive matchup. His next chance to return will be Wednesday against Atlanta.
Nov 27, 2022
Won't play Sunday
Carter (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 76ers, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss a fourth straight game due to a strained right foot. In his absence, Mo Bamba, Moritz Wagner and Bol Bol should continue garnering increased roles.
Nov 26, 2022
Questionable vs. 76ers
Carter (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Carter has missed the past three games due to a strained right foot. Mo Bamba and Moritz Wagner should continue seeing elevated roles if Carter is out again.
Nov 25, 2022
Remains out Friday
Carter (foot) will not take the floor against the 76ers on Friday, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss a third consecutive contest due to the foot injury, leaving Mo Bamba slated to receive another start. Bamba has averaged 31.7 minutes per game alongside 14.7 points and 7.7 rebounds across his three starts this season. Carter's next chance to play will come on Sunday in a rematch with Philadelphia.
Nov 25, 2022
Game-time call Friday
Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley said that Carter (foot) didn't participate in Friday's shootaround and will be a game-time decision against the 76ers, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter has missed the last two games due to a strained plantar fascia, and it remains unclear if he'll be able to play Friday against the 76ers. If he remains sidelined, Mo Bamba should draw another start at center.
Nov 24, 2022
Labeled questionable Friday
Carter (foot) is considered questionable for Friday's game versus the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Carter was labeled questionable and a game-time call prior to each of the last two games, so that designation again doesn't provide a ton of clarity. Carter could come down to a game-time decision again, with Mo Bamba being the presumed primary beneficiary should Carter sit again.
Nov 21, 2022
Won't play Monday
Carter (foot) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pacers, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter didn't participate in Monday's shootaround and was considered a game-time decision against Indiana. He'll be sidelined for the third time in the last four matchups due to a strained plantar fascia, while Mo Bamba should take on a starting role once again. Carter will have several days to rest before Orlando faces the 76ers on Friday.
Nov 21, 2022
Misses shootaround, will be game-time call
Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley said that Carter (foot) didn't participate in Monday's shootaround and will be a game-time decision against the Pacers, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter has missed two of the last three games due to a strained plantar fascia, and it sounds like the big man will be a true game-time call against Indiana after sitting out of Monday's shootaround session. If Carter ultimately remains sidelined, Mo Bamba would likely draw another start at center in his absence. Carter has been terrific when available this season, averaging 16.6 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 32.9 minutes per contest.
Nov 20, 2022
Questionable versus Monday
Carter will be a game-time decision for Orlando's Monday contest against the Pacers, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter has been dealing with a foot injury that left him unable to go for the Pacers' game on Friday. If he's ready to go, expect him to make an impact on both ends of the floor.
Nov 19, 2022
Out Saturday
Carter (foot) is out Saturday against the Pacers, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter continues to deal with a strained right plantar fascia, causing him to miss his second game in three tries. Mo Bamba will start in his place.
Nov 19, 2022
Game-time decision Saturday
Carter (foot) is a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Pacers, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
With Saturday's contest being the second leg of a back-to-back, the Magic may opt to play it safe with Carter. If he were to sit Saturday, Mo Bamba would likely slide into the starting lineup and see ample run.
Nov 19, 2022
Questionable against Indiana
Carter is questionable for Saturday's game versus the Pacers with a right plantar fascia sprain.
ANALYSIS
Carter played in Friday's game versus the Bulls after missing Wednesday's contest due to a foot injury. The Magic are likely being cautious with the 23-year-old big man on the second night of a back-to-back, so fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if he sits out Saturday. If Carter can't go against Indiana, his next opportunity to play will be Monday's game versus the Pacers.
Nov 19, 2022
Nears double-double Friday
Carter recorded 21 points (9-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds and five assists across 34 minutes during Friday's 108-107 victory over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Carter made his presence felt on both ends of the court Friday, as he posted his third straight game with at least 20 points and also ended quite close to recording what would've been his seventh double-double of the season. Firmly entrenched as one of Orlando's most consistent performers on a game-to-game basis, Carter is averaging 18.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game while shooting an impressive 46.4 percent from three-point range in eight November appearances.
Nov 18, 2022
Returns to starting lineup
Carter (foot) will regain his spot in the starting lineup Friday against the Bulls,

Set to play versus Chicago
Carter (foot) said that he would play in Friday's game versus the Bulls, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter was originally listed as probable to play Friday due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. While the injury may linger, it seems that Carter will almost certainly play against Chicago, likely moving Mo Bamba back to a bench role.
Nov 17, 2022
Likely to play Friday
Carter (foot) is probable to play in Friday's game versus the Bulls, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter missed Wednesday's game versus the Timberwolves due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot. While Carter is only slated to miss one game, his injury may linger. The 23-year-old center's return will likely mean Mo Bamba moves back to the bench.
Nov 16, 2022
Sitting out Wednesday
Carter (foot) will miss Wednesday's game versus the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
After missing shootaround Wednesday morning, things seemed to be trending toward Carter missing his first contest of the season Wednesday. That will now officially be the case, potentially opening a spot in the starting five and additional minutes for Mo Bamba, who is coming off a double-double against Charlotte in the last game.
Nov 16, 2022
Doesn't participate in shootaround
Carter (foot) didn't participate in Wednesday's shootaround, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter remains questionable for Wednesday's game against Minnesota due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot, but it's discouraging that he was held out of the team's shootaround. It's possible that he tests his injury prior to the game before the Magic officially determine his status.
Nov 15, 2022
Questionable with foot injury
Carter is questionable for Wednesday's matchup against Minnesota due to plantar fascia in his right foot.
ANALYSIS
Carter scored 20 points in 32 minutes during Monday's loss to the Hornets, but he appears to have picked up a foot injury as well, putting him in jeopardy of missing his first game of the season. Paolo Banchero (ankle) is also questionable, so the Magic may be without two of their top frontcourt members against Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert.
Nov 12, 2022
Collects 20 points, 10 boards
Carter ended Friday's 114-97 victory over the Suns with 20 points (7-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists and one block over 32 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter had a quiet start to the evening, scoring only five points in the first half on 2-of-5 shooting while collecting just two rebounds. However, the Magic center came out firing in the second half, leading the team with nine points on the third quarter on 4-of-7 shooting before adding another 6 points in the fourth. Carter also grabbed five rebounds in the final period to go along with three assists as Orlando closed out the game and sent Phoenix packing. He's now recorded a double-double in back-to-back games while also reaching the 20-point mark for just the second time this season.
Nov 9, 2022
Double-double in win
Carter compiled 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and a block in 34 minutes in Wednesday's 94-87 win over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Ten of Carter's 12 boards came in the second half as Dallas' 30.8 percent field-goal shooting created many opportunities for defensive rebounds. It was his fifth double-double of the season through 12 contest. The 23-year-old continues to provide solid production in his second full season in Orlando and is averaging 15.7 points and 9.4 rebounds in 32.9 minutes so far.
Nov 6, 2022
Notches 17 points, nine boards
Carter registered 17 points (6-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and one steal in 39 minutes before fouling out of Saturday's 126-123 overtime loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Carter got off to a solid start, going 3-of-3 from the field with seven points and five rebounds in the first quarter. He'd finish the first half with 13 points before scoring just four more points for the rest of the game, including overtime as the Magic squandered away the lead. Carter also fouled out of the game late, receiving three of his six personal fouls in the overtime period. On a positive note, the Orlando center has scored 10 or more points in every game this season and has grabbed nine or more rebounds in four straight. His six assists in the contest were also a season-high.
Nov 1, 2022
Goes off for career-high 30 points
Carter closed with 30 points (10-15 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 8-8 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals in 35 minutes during Tuesday's 116-108 loss to the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Carter matched his career-high with 30 points in the loss, turning in his best performance of the season. Despite a clear path to minutes, Carter has been somewhat underwhelming this season. The ascension of Bol Bol has certainly had something to do with it, cutting into Carter's opportunities to defend at the rim. With that said, he looks healthy and locked in for at least 30 minutes per night, making him a clear must-roster player.

Carter delivered his fifth double-double in a row and is averaging 18.8 points and 11.4 rebounds over that stretch while shooting 62.9 percent from the field. He's not delivering standout numbers in any other areas (3.0 assists, 1.0 three-pointers, 0.4 steals and 0.4 blocks per game, 68.8 percent free-throw shooting), but his three-category excellence of late is enough for fantasy managers to keep him active without much hesitation.

ANALYSIS
Carter provided just enough offense to mark a third straight double-double, as the center once again led the Magic off the glass. His six assists were also good for first amongst the team. Carter has scored in double figures in each of his past 10 matchups while grabbing at least 10 rebounds in six of those outings.
Feb 15, 2022
Impressive performance Monday
Carter chipped in 25 points (12-22 FG, 1-5 3Pt), 12 rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals in 34 minutes during Monday's 121-111 loss to Denver.
ANALYSIS
Carter was easily the best player on the floor for the Magic, continuing to establish himself as their center of the future. While Mo Bamba has been trending in the wrong direction, Carter has been able to put together arguably the best stretch of his career. If we had to pick one flaw in his game right now, it would have to be his lack of consistent defensive production. However, he flipped that on its head tonight, gathering three combined steals and blocks. If you have shares in Carter, you should feel pretty good about his outlook, despite the fact the Magic are not going to win a lot of games moving forward.

ANALYSIS
Carter led Orlando in scoring in the contest, finishing with double-digit points for the seventh straight contest. The fourth-year center ranks 20th in the NBA with 22 double-doubles on the season and needed one more board Friday to add another such performance to his tally. Carter is in the midst of a career campaign with per-game averages of 13.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 three-pointers and 0.7 blocks.

Feb 1, 2022
Pops against former team

ANALYSIS
After playing from the bench in his return from a hamstring injury, Wendell put up a nice stat line in the decisive victory. When healthy, the Magic look much better than their 9-39 record might indicate, but the team has had the longest docket in the NBA injury report for most of the season. Carter can now safely return to starting lineups in all fantasy formats.
Jan 23, 2022
Rejoins starting five

ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old came off the bench and had 19 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-8 FT), five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 19 minutes off the bench in his return from a hamstring injury Friday, but he'll be back in the lineup Sunday with Gary Harris (back) unavailable. Carter has averaged 29.0 minutes this season but may still have some workload limitations given his 19-minute run Friday.

His potential absence would be a big blow to the Magic and would likely force Chuma Okeke -- who returned from COVID-19 protocols Tuesday -- into the starting lineup.
Jan 2, 2022
Logs impressive double-double
Carter posted 15 points (5-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 16 rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal over 41 minutes during Sunday's 116-111 overtime loss to the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Sunday marked Carter's 17th double-double of the season. The former Chicago Bull has managed to steer clear of the injury report and has been a consistent source of production amid Orlando's many absences.
Dec 28, 2021
Puts up double-double in loss
Carter amassed 19 points (6-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and three steals across 33 minutes during Tuesday's 127-110 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
While the game was out of hand after Milwaukee jumped out to a 27-point halftime lead, the Magic allowed Carter to play well into the second half on his way to his highest minute total since Dec. 12. Tuesday marked Carter's third game back after missing a pair of contests with a lower-leg injury prior to Christmas. He looks to have fully moved past the injury and should see his full workload going forward.
Dec 26, 2021
Will be available Sunday
Carter (leg) is listed as available for Sunday's contest against the Heat.
ANALYSIS
Carter returned from a two-game absence Thursday and notched 17 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and two steals, but he was still listed as questionable for Sunday. However, that injury designation appears to have been precautionary, as the big man will likely assume his usual starting spot in Orlando's frontcourt.
Dec 25, 2021
Questionable Sunday
Carter is considered questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Heat due to right lower leg injury maintenance.
ANALYSIS
Carter returned from a two-game absence Thursday and provided 17 points (5-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals across 30 minutes in a 110-104 loss to the Pelicas. His status Sunday will presumably depend on how his leg is feeling closer to tip-off.
Dec 24, 2021
Ends Lopezsanity
Carter posted 17 points (5-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals over 30 minutes during Thursday's 110-104 loss to the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Returning from a lower leg injury, Carter didn't miss a beat -- stuffing the box score and leading the starters with a plus-minus of plus-11. Thursday marked his first game with multiple steals and blocks this season, but an uptick in either of those figures would inflate his value. Carter has been a top-20 center at the fantasy position this season.
Dec 23, 2021
Set to return Thursday
Carter (lower leg) will return to action Thursday against the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
After missing a pair of contests, Carter will return to action and presumably reclaim the starting center spot from Robin Lopez. Prior to sustaining the injury, Carter had played at least 30 minutes in 11 straight games, averaging 14.1 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 threes over that stretch.
Dec 22, 2021
Out Wednesday
Carter (leg) is out for Wednesday's contest against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
The 6-foot-10 center is set to miss his second straight appearance as he continues to deal with a leg injury. Robin Lopez will start in his place as the Magic remain short-handed in the frontcourt. Carter's next chance to return comes Thursday against the Pelicans.,
Dec 21, 2021
Listed questionable at Atlanta
Carter (lower leg) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Carter departed Friday's game against the Heat with a strained muscle in his lower leg, and he was held out of the Magic's last game Saturday against Brooklyn (Monday's matchup against Toronto was postponed). The good news is the injury doesn't look to be anything too serious, but Carter's status will be worth monitoring closely as Orlando heads into a Wednesday/Thursday back-to-back set.
Dec 19, 2021
Magic-Raptors postponed Monday
Carter (lower leg) and the Magic won't play the Raptors on Monday after the NBA announced the game will be postponed, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Even with the NBA granting the Magic four roster exemptions in recent days due to the roster being hit hard by injuries and COVID-19-related absences, Orlando would have struggled to have the league-mandated eight players available for Monday's contest. The Magic are tentatively scheduled to play their next game Wednesday in Atlanta, where they'll hope to potentially get Carter and other injured or ill players back in action. Carter missed the Magic's most recent game Saturday against Brooklyn due to a right lower leg injury.
Dec 18, 2021
Out Saturday
Carter (lower leg) is out Saturday against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Carter will be out Saturday after being taken off the court in a wheelchair Friday against the Heat. Fantasy managers should be concerned about a long-term injury for Carter.
Dec 17, 2021
Unlikely to play Saturday
Carter (lower leg) is doubtful for Saturday's game against Brooklyn.
ANALYSIS
Carter missed the second half of Friday's game against the Heat after he was taken to the locker room in a wheelchair. If he's ultimately held out Saturday, Chuma Okeke, Franz Wagner and Alex Ford should see additional run.
Dec 17, 2021
Won't return Friday
Carter has been ruled out for the remainder of Friday's game against the Heat due to a right lower leg injury.
ANALYSIS
Carter was taken to the locker room in a wheelchair after he banged knees with Max Strus in the second quarter Friday and will undergo further evaluation. Prior to his departure, he totaled four points (2-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four rebounds, an assist and a block in 11 minutes.
Dec 17, 2021
Heads to locker room
Carter headed to the locker room in the second quarter of Friday's game against the Heat due to an apparent right knee injury, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter banged knees with Max Strus in the second quarter of Friday's matchup and had to be helped off the court. He was taken to the locker room in a wheelchair shortly after, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to return.
Dec 15, 2021
Nears double-double Wednesday
Carter closed Wednesday's 111-99 loss to the Hawks with nine points (4-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt), 15 rebounds, three assists and one steal in 30 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter finished with a game high off the glass, as the center grabbed double digits for a fifth time in six games. Carter, who currently leads the Magic in rebounding with a career-high 10.0 per game, has recorded 13 double-doubles so far this year and barley missed another one versus the Hawks. The former Duke standout is also posting a career best offensively at 13.1 points per matchup.
Dec 13, 2021
Solid output despite defeat
Carter totaled 16 points (6-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and one block in 33 minutes during Sunday's 106-94 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Carter ended just two boards away from what would've been his fourth double-double this month, and the former Bulls big man continues to prove his worth as a reliable two-way threat in a rebuilding, young team such as the Magic. He's averaging 13.2 points and 11.3 rebounds per game across six games this month.
Dec 11, 2021
Reaches career-high seven dimes
Carter produced two points (1-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 14 rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 33 minutes during Saturday's 106-104 loss to the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Carter couldn't get his shot to fall, but he got his teammates involved and recorded a career-high seven assists. He had reached six assists twice, and he's now recorded at least three assists in 10 games this season.
Dec 9, 2021
Notches double-double Wednesday
Carter finished with 19 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 10 rebounds, six assists and one block over 36 minutes during Wednesday's 142-130 loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Carter tied for second on the team in scoring in the contest and surprisingly ranked second in assists. His six dimes tied a season high, and the big man added 10 boards for his third consecutive double-double. Carter has corralled at least 10 rebounds in eight of his past nine contests and ranks 14th in the league with 9.9 boards per game.
Dec 7, 2021
Registers double-double in loss
Carter accumulated 14 points (4-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and one steal across 30 minutes during Monday's 126-95 loss to the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Carter led the Magic in rebounding in the contest and was the only Orlando player to grab more than five boards. He added 14 points to finish with his second straight double-double and fifth in his past seven games. Despite Orlando's struggles as a team, Carter is on his way to a career-best campaign with per-game marks of 13.2 points, 9.9 boards and 1.4 three-pointers.
Dec 1, 2021
Efficient in victory
Carter supplied 18 points (8-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and eight rebounds across 33 minutes of action in Wednesday's 108-103 win over the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Despite a barren stat line outside of the buckets and boards, Carter was a leading figure in snapping Orlando's seven game losing streak. Carter will look to capitalize on his next matchup against the defensively inept Rockets on Friday.
Nov 29, 2021
Loses double-double streak
Carter finished with eight points (4-11 FG, 0-6 3Pt), 12 rebounds, two assists and a steal in a 101-96 loss to the 76ers on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
Carter has climbed to a career-high 39 percent shooting from three on 3.9 attempts per game this season, but couldn't get one to fall tonight. While that clip doesn't translate to strong fantasy value, it's a positive sign for Carter developmentally. He is averaging 13.3 points, 9.5 rebounds and a combined 1.4 steals/blocks in 28.2 minutes per night through 21 appearances.
Nov 25, 2021
Delivers double-double in loss
Carter produced 14 points (6-9 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals over 32 minutes during Wednesday's 106-99 loss to Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Carter failed to score double-digit points in each of the previous three contests, but he had an efficient outing Wednesday. The 22-year-old has eight double-doubles through 19 games this season.
Nov 16, 2021
Comes close to double-double
Carter closed Monday's 129-111 loss to Atlanta with 15 points (6-8 FG, 3-3 3Pt), nine rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 34 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter looked efficient in this matchup and aside from ending just one board away from a double-double, he also nailed his three shots from beyond the arc. While he's not known for being an elite three-point shooter, there's no question Carter has improved by leaps and bounds in that aspect -- and his ability to stretch the floor is certainly useful for the Magic. The former Bulls big man is averaging 13.7 points and 9.9 rebounds per game while shooting 46.3 percent from three-point range this season. All of those marks would be career-best numbers for him.
Nov 12, 2021
Removed from injury report
Carter (eye) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Saturday's matchup with the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Carter was poked in the eye during Wednesday's loss to the Nets and could not return to the contest. However, he was removed from the injury report, which implies he avoided any serious injury and will be available for Saturday's contest against Washington.
Nov 12, 2021
Expected to play Saturday
Carter (eye) is expected to play in Saturday's contest against the Wizards, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter was poked in the eye during Wednesday's loss to the Nets and was unable to return to the contest. However, it appears he avoided any serious injury and will likely suit up Saturday. Through 12 appearances this season, the 2018 first-round pick is averaging 13.3 points and 10.2 rebounds across 28.2 minutes per game.
Nov 10, 2021
Will not return Wednesday
Carter (eye) will miss the remainder of Wednesday's matchup against the Nets.
ANALYSIS
Carter suffered an eye abrasion in the third quarter of Wednesday's contest and will not return. The young center's next chance to return to the court will be Saturday against the Wizards.
Nov 8, 2021
Nails career-high four triples
Carter closed with 22 points (9-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt), 15 rebounds, six assists and one block in 32 minutes during Sunday's 107-100 victory over the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Carter was a force from the perimeter, connecting on a career-high four triples. After years of battling injuries and disappointing performances, Carter is finally showing us what he can do with repetition in his legs. Both he and Mo Bamba are in the midst of their best season and although the Magic still feel like a lottery team, things are certainly looking up in Orlando.
Nov 4, 2021
Another double-double
Carter put up 13 points (5-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists and two steals across 35 minutes in Wednesday's loss against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Carter has recorded five double-doubles this season, and he accomplished this feat for the fourth time over his last five games. A consistent presence on both ends of the court for the Magic, Carter is averaging 14.6 points and 11.0 boards per game this month, emerging as one of Orlando's most productive players of late.
Nov 2, 2021
Registers fourth double-double
Carter provided 15 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 14 rebounds and three assists across 36 minutes in Monday's 115-97 win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Although Carter fouled out in the contest, he succeeded as Orlando's most potent interior player in the victory. Carter's early success comes as a bit of a surprise. The former Chicago Bull faced some rotation concerns joining the Magic, but the frontcourt tandem with Mo Bamba has worked out quite well. His addition does dilute Bamba's fantasy value somewhat, especially when Carter has a fantastic night off the glass.
Oct 27, 2021
Double-double in loss
Carter ended Wednesday's loss to the Hornets with 20 points (8-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 33 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter notched his second double-double of the season as well as his season high in points. With fellow center Mo Bamba also getting a double-double in this game, it is great to see that the two can coexist offensively and on the glass. The 22-year-old has now scored in double figures in four out of the five games this year, which is a great sign as he wasn't able to average double-figures in any of his first three seasons in the league. Carter has certainly exceeded expectations this season and is likely to continue seeing opportunities on the offensive end.
Oct 24, 2021
Nears double-double Sunday
Carter generated 11 points (5-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt), nine rebounds, four blocks, one assist and one steal in 31 minutes during Sunday's 110-104 win over New York.
ANALYSIS
Carter posted a double-double in Friday's loss to the Knicks but fell just short of the mark as the Magic picked up their first win of the season Sunday. The 22-year-old has been remarkably consistent across the first three games of the year and has averaged 11.3 points and 9.3 rebounds in 26.7 minutes per contest.
Oct 21, 2021
Tallies 13 points, eight boards
Carter had 13 points (5-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in 19 minutes during Wednesday's 123-97 loss to the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Carter inked a four-year, $50 million extension with Orlando last week, but he only ended up playing 19 minutes during the season opener despite not facing any foul trouble. He started alongside Mo Bamba in the frontcourt, who put up 18 points, four rebounds four assists and four blocks in 27 minutes. Carter appeared to be the odd man out for parts of the season opener but should have a larger role most games.
Oct 15, 2021
Inks four-year, $50 million deal
Carter and the Magic agreed Friday to a four-year, $50 million contract extension, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter's first three years in the league have been underwhelming, but there's reason to be optimistic with the No. 7 overall pick from 2018 in a new situation. He's had a nice preseason with averages of 12.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks in 25.6 minutes, and it seems like he and Mo Bamba will be sharing the court together somewhat frequently. In redraft leagues, Carter is a decent flier outside of the top 100, and he probably has more value in keeper formats.
Oct 10, 2021
Starting Sunday
Carter is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Spurs, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter came off the bench earlier in the week but will return to the starting unit in place of Moritz Wagner. Head coach Jahmal Mosley has been working with some different lineups during the first two preseason games, meaning Carter could very well come off the bench Wednesday when the Magic face the Celtics.
Oct 6, 2021
Shifts to bench
Carter will come off the bench for Wednesday's preseason game against the Pelicans, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Mo Bamba getting the start at center on Wednesday, Carter will shift to the bench as the Magic experiment with different lineups. He averaged 11.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25.5 minutes per game last season.
May 16, 2021
Officially out Sunday
Carter (eye) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Coach Steve Clifford said before Sunday's game that Carter "probably" wouldn't play, so his inactive status is relatively unsurprising. Mo Bamba will start and could take on an increased role Sunday.
May 16, 2021
Closer to doubtful
Carter's (eye) status remains unclear for Sunday's game against the Sixers, but coach Steve Clifford told reporters pregame that Carter "probably" won't play, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Magic have waffled on the status of several players, but it sounds like both Carter and RJ Hampton (ankle) are closer to "doubtful" than "questionable." If Carter doesn't play, Mo Bamba would likely step into a much larger role.
May 15, 2021
Questionable for Sunday
Carter (eye) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Sixers.
ANALYSIS
The 21-year-old missed three games with the eye injury earlier in May, and he's now back on the injury report heading into the season finale. Mo Bamba and Donta Hall should have increased roles if Carter is unable to play Sunday.
May 13, 2021
Double-double in loss
Carter registered 12 points (4-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds and one block in 27 minutes during Thursday's 116-93 win over the Magic.
ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old has been decent since returning from a three-game absence due to an eye injury, averaging 10.0 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists over his last two games. Carter's had difficulty scoring over his last eight games, averaging just 8.8 points on 37.0 percent shooting, so he'll look to build on Thursday's double-digit scoring performance Friday on the road against the 76ers.
May 12, 2021
Plays 31 mintues in return Tuesday
Carter finished with eight points (3-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 14 rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes during Tuesday's 114-102 loss to the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
Carter made his return after missing the past three games with an eye injury. Despite struggling on the offensive end, Carter looked ready to go from the outset. This was far from a favorable matchup for Carter, coming up against the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Brook Lopez. Mo Bamba (illness) was a late scratch for this one and so that also needs to be factored in when assessing Carter's production.
May 11, 2021
Back in action Tuesday
Carter (eye) is available and starting Tuesday at Milwaukee.
ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old was questionable after missing the past three games with an eye abrasion, but he'll retake the court Tuesday. Carter averaged 8.0 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 23.6 minutes in his past five contests.
May 10, 2021
Listed questionable for Tuesday
Carter (eye) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Bucks.
ANALYSIS
A left eye issue has kept Carter out of the last three games, but he'll once again have a chance to be evaluated and potentially cleared to make his return Tuesday. Mo Bamba has benefited greatly from Carter's absence, though he posted a dud (three points, five boards, two assists, two blocks in 20 minutes) against the Timberwolves in Sunday's blowout loss.
May 9, 2021
Remains out Sunday
Carter (eye) will not play Sunday against Minnesota.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss his third game in a row due to a left eye abrasion. Mo Bamba will likely continue to see an increased workload while Carter and a plethora of additional players remain sidelined.
May 8, 2021
Could return Sunday
Carter (eye) is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Carter has missed two straight games with a left eye abrasion. If he sits out again Sunday, Mo Bamba should remain in the starting five.
May 6, 2021
Out Friday
Carter (eye) is out Friday against the Hornets, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A cut near his left eye will cause Carter to miss a second straight game. Mo Bamba should again start in Carter's absence. Bamba played 31 minutes Wednesday against the Celtics and posted 19 points, 15 rebounds, four blocks, three steals and one assist.
May 5, 2021
Out Wednesday
Carter (eye) is out Wednesday against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss his first game since April 22, and the Magic have already confirmed that Mo Bamba will draw the start. Moritz Wagner and Ignas Brazdeikis could also see extra time in Carter's absence.
May 5, 2021
Added to injury report
Carter is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against Boston due to a cut near his left eye.
ANALYSIS
This is the first we've heard of the eye issue, which may have occurred during practice Tuesday, as Carter did not appear to sustain an injury during Monday's win over the Pistons, which he finished with 11 points and five rebounds in 19 minutes. Chances are, Carter will end up playing through it, but if he doesn't, Mo Bamba would become an attractive DFS pivot at center.
May 2, 2021
Struggles from field in win
Carter posted six points (2-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and an assist across 27 minutes in Saturday's win over the Grizzlies.
ANALYSIS
Carter was the big prize in the deal that sent Nikola Vucevic (hip) to the Bulls during the trade deadline, but he hasn't performed as such in recent weeks and has registered three straight single-digit scoring performances. He's still averaging 13.0 points and 8.8 rebounds per game since the beginning of April but has been trending in the wrong direction of late.
Apr 26, 2021
Quiet night in loss
Carter posted 10 points (4-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and eight rebounds in 29 minutes of Monday's 114-103 loss to the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
Since his 20-point performance on April 16, Carter has been relatively quiet averaging just 12.0 points over his last four games, though he does have two double-doubles in that span. Though he's been quiet recently, Carter is still enjoying more success with the Magic than he did with the Bulls to start the season.
Apr 25, 2021
Posts double-double in 21 minutes
Carter had 10 points (4-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and 13 rebounds in Sunday's loss to the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Making his return from a one-game absence, Carter was limited to 21 minutes, but he didn't let that stop him from posting his third double-double in his last five games. The Magic implied that Carter's restriction could last a few games, so his workload will be something to monitor heading into Monday's home matchup against the Lakers.
Apr 25, 2021
Starting, will face restrictions
Carter will start Sunday's game against the Pacers, but he will have an unspecified minutes restriction, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter has been bothered by a sore ankle of late, and while he'll return to the lineup after missing Thursday's game against New Orleans, the big man will be limited. Assistant coach Tyrone Corbin told the media Carter will likely face minutes restrictions for the "next couple of games," so while he remains fantasy-viable, Carter's ceiling will be a bit lower in the short term.
Apr 25, 2021
Set to return Sunday
Carter (ankle) will be available for Sunday's game against the Pacers, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter was held out of Thursday's game against New Orleans due to a sore right ankle, but after initially being listed as questionable he's been given the green light to return. The Duke product will likely step back into the starting five at his customary center spot.
Apr 24, 2021
Questionable vs. Pacers
Carter (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Carter sat out Thursday's game against the Pelicans due to right ankle soreness, but he could return Sunday. However, if he remains out, Mo Bamba is likely to draw a second straight start.
Apr 22, 2021
Ruled out Thursday
Carter (ankle) will not play Thursday against the Pelicans, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter will miss his first game since March 26 due to right ankle soreness. Mo Bamba will slide into the starting role for Thursday's game.
Apr 22, 2021
Questionable vs. Pels
Carter is questionable for Thursday's contest against the Pelicans due to a sore right ankle.
ANALYSIS
Carter hasn't missed a game since March 26. He's been the Magic's starting center for the past 10 games, and he's averaged 14.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists nad 1.4 steals. If he sits out Thursday, more minutes will be available for Mo Bamba.
Apr 20, 2021
Strong two-way performance
Carter collected 17 points (6-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds and three steals in 26 minutes during Tuesday's 112-96 loss to the Hawks.
ANALYSIS
Carter continues to play well as the Magic's starting center. He had averaged 14.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.2 steals across the past nine games coming into Tuesday. If Carter can close out the season with these sorts of performances on a nightly basis, he'll jump up the draft boards for next season, assuming he remains Orlando's starting center.
Apr 18, 2021
Double-doubles in loss
Carter went for 11 points (5-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 32 minutes during Sunday's 114-110 loss to the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Carter has two double-doubles in his last three games and four overall since joining the Magic after having only seven with the Bulls in the first 32 games of the season. Carter's seven shots were fewest among starters and even backup Mo Bamba attempted more shots despite playing in half the time of Carter. Despite that, Carter is still one of the focal points on the Magic and has decent fantasy value.
Apr 16, 2021
Scores team-high 20 points
Carter registered 20 points (8-12 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and one block in 31 minutes during Friday's loss to the Raptors.
ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old has been on a roll lately, averaging 15.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks in the last nine games. Since coming off the bench in his first three games as a member of the Magic, Carter has started the past eight games, averaging 29.8 minutes per contest. The third-year center will look to keep the good times rolling Sunday at home against the Rockets.
Apr 14, 2021
Double-doubles against former team
Carter totaled 19 points (8-16 FG, 3-5 FT), 12 rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in 31 minutes of Wednesday's win over the Bulls.
ANALYSIS
Carter was all over the place Wednesday contributing in every aspect of the game. Though the Magic haven't done much winning lately, it hasn't been because of a lack of production from Carter. Since the Magic acquired him from the Bulls, Carter has three double-doubles while grabbing less than six rebounds just once in 10 games. His fantasy value has increased moderately since joining Orlando.
Apr 13, 2021
Stuffs stat sheet Monday
Carter had 15 points (6-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and a steal across 30 minutes in Monday's loss against the Spurs.
ANALYSIS
Carter has scored in double digits in six of his first nine games with the Magic, and he has taken advantage of the opportunity in playing a new team where he holds a bigger role on both ends of the court. Carter averaged 10.9 points per game in 32 contests with the Bulls, but that figure has increased to 13.4 points per tilt in nine games with Orlando.
Apr 7, 2021
Continues to impress with Magic
Carter accumulated 15 points (6-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal over 23 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
For the month of March, Carter hit double figures in the scoring column just twice across 11 games prior to being acquired by the Magic. Since then, he's done so five times in six contests. He's also shot greater than 50 percent in each outing throughout that span.
Apr 5, 2021
Rejuvenation continues in loss
Carter amassed 16 points (8-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, three steals and one block in 35 minutes during Sunday's 119-109 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Carter remained in the starting lineup and was arguably the best player on the court for the Magic. The move from Chicago has done wonders for his game and at this stage, he appears to have grabbed this opportunity with both hands. As long as he is the go-to center for the Magic, Carter needs to be snapped up in all formats if he was dropped prior to being moved.
Apr 4, 2021
Records double-double in loss
Carter produced 19 points (6-12 FG), 0-3 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 12 rebounds, two blocked shots and an assist across 34 minutes in Saturday's 137-91 loss to the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Although Khem Birch was out with an illness, Carter is the heir apparent for the starting gig at center. While the Carter-Vucevic exchange was a bit of a head-scratcher, the Magic seemed intent on parting with guys like Vucevic, Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier, all veteran players with inflated contracts. Carter is still developing after two years with the Bulls and needs added aggressiveness to grow into his role, but he looks like a safe fantasy option for the Magic moving forward.
Apr 3, 2021
Starting Saturday
Carter will start Saturday's game against the Jazz.
ANALYSIS
Carter will get his first start with the Magic, as Khem Birch (illness) is sidelined. Carter played 31 minutes Thursday and posted 21 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and one block.
Apr 1, 2021
Paces Magic in points and boards
Carter played 31 minutes off the bench and added 21 points (8-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and one block in Thursday's OT victory over the Pelicans.
ANALYSIS
Carter scored six of his 21 points in the extra period including sealing the win for the Magic by hitting four free throws over the last 16.9 seconds. He has now posted consecutive double-digit scoring efforts for the first time since Feb. 22 and 24 as a member of the Bulls. Since joining Orlando, Carter is averaging 13.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 blocks per game.
Mar 28, 2021
Cleared to play Sunday
Carter will be available to make his Orlando debut in Sunday's game against the Lakers, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Magic will have three of their four trade-deadline pickups in Carter, R.J. Hampton and Otto Porter on hand to close out the weekend after all three weren't cleared to play ahead of Friday's 112-105 loss to the Trail Blazers. Of the quartet of players the Magic acquired -- including the injured Gary Harris (thigh) -- Carter is the most significant long-term asset. He's expected to take over for the departed Nikola Vucevic as the Magic's top center, though it's unclear if Carter will immediately unseat Khem Birch in the starting lineup Sunday. Expect Carter to at least fill a rotational role off the bench in his debut if he doesn't start.
Mar 26, 2021
Won't debut Friday
Carter (not injury related) is unavailable for Friday's game vesus the Trail Blazers, Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
ANALYSIS
The 21-year-old was acquired from the Bulls along with Otto Porter ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, though neither player is available Friday. Carter's next chance to make his team debut will be Sunday against the Lakers.
Mar 25, 2021
Dealt to Orlando in Vucevic trade
Carter was traded to the Magic on Thursday, along with Otto Porter and two future first-round picks, in exchange for Nikola Vucevic and Al-Farouq Aminu, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
In the first major deal on deadline day, the Bulls will bring in one of the biggest names on the market, but it will cost them Carter, their No. 7 overall pick out of Duke in 2018. Injuries limited Carter in each of his first two seasons, and he's been mostly underwhelming in 2020-21, averaging just 10.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists through 32 games. Carter was a regular starter for the first half of the season, but he was demoted to the bench on March 14, and he's averaged only 19.4 minutes per game in seven appearances since. With Vucevic out of the picture in Orlando, Carter will have a good chance to take over as the full-time starting center as the Magic shift into rebuilding mode.
Mar 23, 2021
Not listed on injury report
Carter (shoulder) isn't listed on the injury report for Wednesday's matchup with the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
The 20-year-old sustained a shoulder injury during Monday's blowout loss to Utah, but it appears to be a minor issue since he's absence from the injury report one day later. Carter is averaging 7.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 19.0 minutes off the bench over the past six games since Thaddeus Young took over the starting job at center.
Mar 23, 2021
Hurts shoulder in blowout loss
Carter appeared to suffer a shoulder injury during Monday's 120-95 loss to the Jazz, Cody Westerlund of 670TheScore.com reports. He finished the night with six points (3-5 FG), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in 18 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Carter made a trip to the locker room after he picked up the injury when he was fouled by Georges Niang, but the Bulls haven't elaborated on the severity of the issue. The third-year center thus looks questionable for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers for the time being, a development that further dims his downward-trending fantasy outlook. In his six games since moving to a bench role in favor Thaddeus Young, Carter has failed to crack 23 minutes in any contest while posting modest averages of 7.8 points (on 44.4 percent shooting from the field), 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 0.5 blocks.
Mar 20, 2021
Plays just 23 minutes in defeat
Carter amassed just six points (2-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-4 FT), six rebounds and five assists in 23 minutes during Friday's 131-127 loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Carter has played fewer than 25 minutes in six straight games and is certainly doing nothing to help his cause. He turned in another underwhelming performance against the Nuggets as the Bulls blew another lead. He does still have a small amount of value but it doesn't appear he will be getting his starting spot back anytime soon and so moving on would not be the worst idea.
Mar 18, 2021
Scores 10 in loss
Carter totaled 10 points (3-7 FG, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and two assists in a 106-99 loss to the Spurs on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Carter had his second double figure scoring game since being removed from the starting lineup three contests ago. The center was especially effective at the line, making a team-high four shots from the charity stripe. Since moving to the bench, Carter has averaged 10.3 points and 8.7 rebounds across 19.6 minutes per game, which isn't far off from his 11.8 points and 7.9 rebounds as a starter.
Mar 15, 2021
Puts up double-double off bench
Carter had 12 points (4-9 FG, 4-5 FT) and 11 rebounds off the bench in Sunday's win over Toronto.
ANALYSIS
The Bulls made a fairly drastic lineup change, inserting Thaddeus Young at center and Tomas Satoransky at point guard, while Carter and Coby White moved to the bench. While Carter saw a slight reduction in minutes (19), he had one of his better games of late, notching his first double-double since Feb. 24. Carter also added an assist, a steal and a block.
Mar 14, 2021
Moving to bench
Carter will come off the bench Sunday against the Raptors, Eric Woodyard of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bulls will roll with Thaddeus Young at center, sending Carter to the bench following a string of lackluster performances. While Carter has rebounded well (8.2 RPG) in his last five games, he's averaged just 5.8 points on 32.3 percent shooting in that span. At this point, it's unclear if coach Billy Donovan plans to stick with this new alignment, or if it will simply be a short-term experiment.
Mar 1, 2021
Sees dip in minutes
Carter scored eight points (2-4 FG, 4-6 FT) to go along with three rebounds and two assists across 23 minutes in Monday's loss to the Nuggets.
ANALYSIS
Carter played just under four minutes in the fourth quarter, with Thaddeus Young instead earning most of the court time. This continued a troubling trend for Carter, as he's now played 25 minutes or fewer in four of eight games since returning from a quadriceps injury. While it appeared his playing time was stabilizing and he put together a string of strong performances in that span, Carter has played 25 and 23 minutes in his last two contests, respectively.
Feb 28, 2021
Bulls-Raptors postponed
Carter and the Bulls won't play the Raptors on Sunday since the game was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Toronto doesn't have the minimum eight players available due to the NBA's health and safety protocols, leading to the postponement. The Bulls don't currently have any COVID-19 issues within the team, so they should face the Nuggets on Monday as scheduled.
Feb 24, 2021
Posts double-double in OT win
Carter registered 17 points (6-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks across 32 minutes in Wednesday's overtime win over the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
Carter recorded a double-double for the second straight game, and this is just the second time he's been able to achieve that feat on a back-to-back basis during the current campaign. Carter has returned strong after missing 11 straight games between Jan. 22 and Feb. 12, scoring at least 15 points in four of his six appearances since returning to the court.
Feb 22, 2021
Big production against Rockets
Carter scored 18 points (8-14 FG, 2-2 FT) to go along with 13 rebounds, one assist, two steals and three blocks across 29 minutes in Monday's win over the Rockets.
ANALYSIS
Carter had one his best games of the season, notching his fifth double-double. He was particularly aggressive in finding his shot, as he reached double-digit field-goal attempts for only the fifth time this season. In addition, Carter supplemented his strong scoring and rebounding totals with defensive contributions by matching a season-high three blocks. Since returning from a quadriceps injury, Carter has averaged 13.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.4 blocks and 0.6 steals across five games.
Feb 20, 2021
Puts up 15 points in loss
Carter registered 15 points (7-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four rebounds and an assist across 25 minutes in Friday's loss against the 76ers.
ANALYSIS
Carter recovered quicker than expected from his injury and has looked productive since his return, as he has scored in double digits in each of his last three games while also ending two boards of fewer away from posting a double-double two times. Carter has now scored in double digits in 10 games in a row and is settling as one of Chicago's top secondary scoring options behind Zach LaVine.
Feb 18, 2021
Drops 18 points with three defensive counters
Carter ended with 18 points (7-9 FG, 4-6 FT), three rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 105-102 victory over the Pistons.
ANALYSIS
Carter turned in an improved offensive performance, helping the Bulls to an improbable win. He continues to work his way back from injury and while the production was more than adequate, the fact he played 27 minutes was perhaps the biggest positive. Barring any setbacks, Carter should be locked in as a mid-round asset the rest of the way.
Feb 15, 2021
Plays 21 minutes in return
Carter (quadriceps) scored 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 FT) to go along with nine rebounds, one assist and one steal across 21 minutes in Monday's win over the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Carter missed the Bulls' last 11 contests with a bruised right quad and returned to the starting lineup. He shot the ball efficiently around the basket and reached at least nine rebounds for only the fifth time on the season despite a limited workload. Though he was given no official minutes limit, Carter should continue to ramp up towards his season average of 27 minutes per contest as he works back into game shape.
Feb 15, 2021
Returning to action Monday
Carter (quadriceps) is available for Monday's game at Indiana and isn't expected to play heavy minutes, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 21-year-old has missed the past 11 games with a bruised right quad, but he'll return to action Monday against the Pacers. Coach Billy Donovan said Carter doesn't officially have a minutes restriction, but the center still won't play extended minutes during his first game in nearly a month.
Feb 14, 2021
Questionable Monday
Carter (quadriceps) is questionable for Monday's game against the Pacers.
ANALYSIS
Carter has missed nearly a month due to a bruised quad, but he fully participated in Sunday's practice. He's deemed questionable for Monday's game against Indiana, although it's not yet clear whether he'll be ready to return. If he's unable to play, Daniel Gafford and Thaddeus Young should continue to see increased run. Even if he's inactive Monday, Carter appears to be trending toward a return in the near future.
Feb 14, 2021
Full participant in practice
Carter was a full participant in Sunday's practice, Rob Schaefer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter has been sidelined since Jan. 18 due to a bruised quad, but he's heading in the right direction given his participation in practice. The 21-year-old missed Friday's game after being listed as doubtful. He may not be quite ready for Monday's game against Indiana, but he could possibly return during Chicago's upcoming four-game week.
Feb 12, 2021
Out as expected
Carter (quad) is out Friday against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Carter will remain out Friday. However, he was listed as doubtful initially, suggesting he could be back sooner than later. His next chance to return is Monday against the Pacers.
Feb 11, 2021
Listed as doubtful Friday
Carter (quadriceps) is listed as doubtful for Friday's game against the Clippers.
ANALYSIS
Carter has been sidelined since Jan. 18 but he got upgraded to doubtful for Friday's game, which is at least a step in the right direction. The team announced on Jan. 26 that the 21-year-old center would be reevaluated in four weeks, which would seemingly put Carter a bit ahead of schedule in his recovery.
Jan 26, 2021
Out four-plus weeks
Carter will be reevaluated in four weeks after an MRI confirmed a severe right quadriceps contusion Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
The 21-year-old missed the past three games due to the injury and will now be sidelined for at least the next month. It's a familiar story of missing time with injuries for Carter, who played 44 games and 43 games over his first two years in the league entering this season. Daniel Gafford has started in his place for the Bulls, but Lauri Markkanen could also see increased run at center.
Jan 25, 2021
Officially ruled out
Carter (thigh) has been ruled out of Monday's game against Boston.
ANALYSIS
It will be the third straight absence for Carter, who continues to nurse a bruised right quad. With Wednesday's game against Memphis already postponed, Carter's next chance to play won't arrive until Saturday against Portland. That means he's essentially on a one-game week, so Carter should be left on the bench -- or in an IR spot -- in most weekly leagues.
Jan 24, 2021
Unlikely to play Monday
Carter (thigh) is doubtful for Monday's contest against the Celtics.
ANALYSIS
Carter has missed the last two games due to a thigh bruise, and it appears as though he's on track to miss yet another matchup. If he's unable to play, Daniel Gafford could start for the Bulls once again.
Jan 23, 2021
Inactive Saturday
Carter (thigh) is inactive for Saturday's game against the Lakers.
ANALYSIS
As anticipated, Carter will miss his second straight matchup, as he's being bothered by a thigh bruise. Daniel Gafford, who posted seven points and six rebounds in 19 minutes Friday, will presumably earn his second straight start with Carter out Saturday.
Jan 22, 2021
Out Friday, doubtful Saturday
Carter (thigh), who is out Friday against the Hornets, is doubtful for Saturday's game against the Lakers, Cody Westerlund of 670TheScore.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter's absence should open up extra time for Daniel Gafford and possibly Thaddeus Young if Lauri Markkanen sees more time as a small-ball five. Assuming Carter is out Saturday as well, his next chance to play will arrive Monday against the Celtics.
Jan 22, 2021
Out as expected
Carter (thigh) will not play Friday against the Hornets.
ANALYSIS
Daniel Gafford is a strong candidate to start at center and see plenty of action, and Lauri Markkanen could find himself playing small-ball five as well. Gafford will likely make for a DFS flier, as he's averaging 13.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.3 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals per 36 minutes in 55 career games. Notably, Lauri Markkanen and Zach LaVine see six percent usage increases with Carter off the court as well.
Jan 21, 2021
Doubtful for Friday
Carter (thigh) is doubtful for Friday's game against the Hornets, Cody Westerlund of 670TheScore.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter departed Wednesday's practice with a bruised thigh, which is likely to keep him out Friday. Assuming Carter is out, Daniel Gafford should start at center and see plenty of action, and Lauri Markkanen could find himself playing small-ball five as well. Gafford will likely make for a DFS flier, as he's averaging 13.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.3 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals per 36 minutes in 55 career games. Notably, Lauri Markkanen and Zach LaVine see six percent usage increases with Carter off the court.
Jan 20, 2021
Dealing with bruised thigh
Carter departed Wednesday's practice due to a bruised thigh, KC Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear if the issue is something that could threaten Carter's status for Friday's game against the Hornets, but he should be considered questionable until further notice. In his last outing Monday against Houston, Carter posted 10 points, eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in 21 minutes.
Jan 15, 2021
Puts up double-double Friday
Carter registered 16 points (6-9 FG, 4-5 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and three blocks across 33 minutes in Friday's overtime loss against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Carter got off to a slow start to the season with 15 points combined over his first two games, but he has bounced back quickly and is emerging as a reliable presence on both ends of the court. Carter has posted four double-doubles already and has scored in double digits in all but one of his last 10 games, averaging 14.2 points and 8.5 rebounds during that span.
Jan 9, 2021
Scores season-high 23 points
Carter totaled 23 points (9-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds and three assists in a loss to the Lakers on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Carter was limited to 25 minutes in the loss but still managed to tally his season high in points. He wasn't as aggressive on the boards as in his previous contest, when he grabbed 17 rebounds against Sacramento, but Carter's seven rebounds were nonetheless a nice complement to his scoring. The third-year center out of Duke is posting per-game averages of 12.9 points, 8.1 boards and 2.8 assists on the campaign.
Jan 7, 2021
Double-doubles in Wednesday's loss
Carter amassed 11 points (4-9 FG, 3-4 FT), 17 rebounds and four assists in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 128-124 loss to Sacramento.
ANALYSIS
Carter hauled in a career-high 17 boards Wednesday, notching a double-double in what was one of his better performances this season. He is beginning to find his place in the NBA and the fact he has a coach who appears to know how to use him correctly, certainly works in his favor. Carter is not going to put up huge scoring numbers on a nightly basis but the rebounding is solid and he will typically put up some sort of contribution on the defensive end.
Jan 6, 2021
Posts solid stat line
Carter recorded 13 points (4-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five assists, three rebounds, one block and one steal during a 111-108 win in Portland on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Carter's stats at this point of the campaign are highly similar to those he logged last season. The 21-year-old is averaging 11.9 points and 7.1 rebounds through eight games. Carter's consistency has not been worrisome, so he should at least be serviceable in deeper leagues when healthy.
Dec 31, 2020
Shakes off injury to score 16
Carter scored 16 points (7-11 FG, 1-1 3PT, 1-2 FT) to go along with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 23 minutes in Thursday's win over the Wizards.
ANALYSIS
Carter exited the game briefly with a hip injury early in the fourth quarter but managed to return. Despite the depressed minutes total, he scored a season-best 16 points and knocked down only his second three-point shot of the campaign. Carter also saw an uptick in his defensive stats, a positive development after he came into the game with only two blocks and no steals.
Dec 31, 2020
Returns to game
Carter (hip) returned to Thursday's game several minutes after leaving the contest, Rob Schaefer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter suffered an apparent left hip injury early in the fourth quarter, but he returned to the game soon after leaving the court. Given his quick return, it's unlikely that the issue will impact his availability going forward.
Dec 31, 2020
Exits with injury
Carter left Thursday's game against the Wizards with an apparent left hip injury, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter came off the court early in the fourth quarter Thursday and was clutching his left hip as he left the game. He was replaced by Daniel Gafford, and it's not yet clear whether Carter could return over the final few minutes of the contest.
Dec 27, 2020
Posts double-double in loss
Carter registered 22 points (8-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-8 FT), 13 rebounds and four assists across 31 minutes in Sunday's loss against the Warriors.
ANALYSIS
Carter had two below-average performances to start the season, failing to reach the 30-minute mark or the 10-point plateau in each of those games, but he came out of nowhere to post a strong performance -- and his first double-double of the season -- in Sunday's loss. Carter averaged 11.3 points per game in 2019-20 and that kind of production is more in line with the expectations over his shoulders, so it's hard to imagine Carter scoring close to 20 points on a nightly basis. Either way, he will try to build off Sunday's performance when the Bulls take on the Wizards on the road Tuesday.
Mar 10, 2020
Posts 17 points in victory
Carter finished with 17 points (7-9 FG, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, two steals and one assist in 27 minutes during Tuesday's 108-103 win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Through his first five games since returning from an ankle injury that forced him to miss a large chunk of the season, Carter has produced 6.8 points, 6.6 boards, 1.2 assists and 0.6 blocks in 24.2 minutes per game, shooting 40.0 percent from the field, and 73.7 percent from the line in that span. Similar to several of his teammates, it's been a rough, injury-riddled season for the soon-to-be 21-year old. He hasn't had the opportunity to show the upside that some may have drafted him for. Assuming he's able to stay healthy, maybe Carter will get a better shot at fantasy production down the stretch of the season.
Mar 6, 2020
Quiet showing
Carter had eight points (2-4 FG, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and an assist in 26 minutes Friday, as the Bulls fell to the Pacers 108-102.
ANALYSIS
He shoved Jakaar Sampson and proceeded to pick up a technical foul by chirping to the officials in the third quarter. This nearly resulted in an ejection, and the Bulls ended up turning to Thaddeus Young (26 minutes) thereafter to close the game. Carter reached his expected playing total, but is a candidate to remain around 25 minutes in the coming weeks, potentially becoming expendable if Chicago looks to further evaluate rookie Daniel Gafford.
Mar 6, 2020
Restrictions nearly lifted
Carter is progressing toward not having a minutes restriction, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter played 25 minutes during Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, but he's close to being cleared for his regular 30-minute workload. The team didn't offer an official limit for Friday's contest, but he figures to see between 25 and 30 minutes.
Mar 4, 2020
Will see 22-24 minutes Wednesday
Carter will start and see 22-24 minutes during Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter remains under a minutes limit as he works back from an ankle injury that cost him 22 straight games. In his first two games back, he averaged 6.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 block in 20.5 minutes.
Mar 3, 2020
Quiet in 23 minutes
Carter (ankle) posted seven points (2-5 FG, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one block in 23 minutes during Monday's 109-107 win over the Mavericks.
ANALYSIS
Carter (ankle) drew his second straight start at center and saw his minute total increased by five after earning 18 on Saturday against the Knicks. Having been out since Jan. 6 prior to these last two tilts, it's not surprising to see Chicago bringing Carter along slowly. As a result, the sophomore big man might be a player to stay away from in the short term. However, Wednesday's bout versus the Timberwolves likely makes for a friendly matchup for fantasy purposes.
Mar 2, 2020
Starting Monday
Carter (ankle) will start Monday's game against Dallas, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Carter will make a second consecutive start. During Saturday's game loss to the Knicks, Carter's first appearance since Jan. 6, he finished with six points, nine rebounds, two assists and a block in 18 minutes of play.
Mar 1, 2020
Probable Monday
Carter (ankle) is considered probable for Monday's game against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Carter made his long-awaited return to action Saturday night, playing 18 minutes and finishing with six points, nine rebounds and two assists. The probable tag is likely precautionary, but Carter could still face a minutes limitation as he works his way back into game shape.
Mar 1, 2020
Gets limited minutes in return
Carter (ankle) started at center and produced six points (1-5 FG, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one block across 18 minutes Saturday in the Bulls' 125-115 loss to the Knicks.
ANALYSIS
Though Carter recaptured his usual spot in the starting five after missing the Bulls' previous 22 games with a sprained right ankle, coach Jim Boylen was understandably cautious with the big man's usage in his return. Once he gets a few more games under his belt, Carter should be cleared to play 30 minutes on a regular basis, making him worthy of holding in most 10-team leagues or deeper while his playing time remains restricted.
Feb 29, 2020
Starting Saturday
Carter (ankle) will start Saturday's game against the Knicks, Chuck Swirsky of the Bulls Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Carter, who has been hampered by a severe right ankle sprain, will play for the first time since Jan. 6. He'll play in a diminished capacity and will be on a 22-minute limit, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports. Prior to sustaining the injury, Carter posted averages of 11.7 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 30.0 minutes per game.
Feb 29, 2020
Upgraded to probable
Carter (ankle) has been upgraded to probable for Saturday's game against the Knicks
ANALYSIS
All signs are pointing toward Carter making his return Saturday following a 22-game absence. It's not immediately clear what his role will be in his first game back, and it's possible he's eased back into form.
Feb 28, 2020
Questionable Saturday
Carter is questionable for Saturday's tilt with New York, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
There have been no updates on Carter's ankle, leaving him questionable for Saturday's game against the Knicks. Should the 20-year-old return, Daniel Gafford and Cristiano Felicio will likely see hits in their playing time. If the sophomore is unavailable, his next chance to come back will be on Monday against the Mavericks.
Feb 27, 2020
Says he will likely play Saturday
Carter (ankle) said that there is a "80 to 90 percent chance" he'll play Saturday against the Knicks, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
It appears Carter may finally be able to return to the court after a 22-game absence due to a sprained right ankle. More information may arrive following Friday's practice and/or Saturday's morning shootaround. If he ends up playing, it's possible he'll be on a minutes limit in his first game back.
Feb 25, 2020
Ruled out
Carter (ankle) will not play in Tuesday's game against the Thunder, KC Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
ANALYSIS
In an encouraging development, Carter was initially listed as "questionable" for Tuesday, but he'll ultimately miss at least one more game as he works back from a severely sprained ankle. The Bulls have three full days off following Tuesday's game, so there's a decent chance Carter could return for Saturday's contest in New York.
Feb 24, 2020
Questionable Tuesday
Carter (ankle) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Thunder.
ANALYSIS
Carter missed two more games over the weekend, but there's hope that Tuesday could finally mark his return from the severe ankle sprain that's kept him on the shelf since early-January. Look for a clearer update after shootaround Tuesday morning.
Feb 23, 2020
