Thornton led all scorers with 24 points as the Buckeyes dropped their first game of the season to Texas A&M. The 6-foot-2 sophomore continues to facilitate Ohio State's offense, closing with five assists, but the sophomore guard is currently converting just 35.5 percent of shots from the field. Thornton and the Buckeyes, who shot just 41.9 percent as a team Friday, will look to get back on track against Merrimack this Wednesday.

Thornton hasn't had a major role early in the season but it hasn't helped that he also made three turnovers in Wednesday's game. As a young starting point guard in a lineup full of veterans, Thornton may not be expected to shine as much as Zed Key or bench sensation Brice Sensabaugh.
