J.R. Konieczny Injury News & Updates

Konieczny recorded 14 points (4-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block across 35 minutes during Saturday's 62-49 loss to Miami (FL).

Konieczny opened the season on the bench but has played in the starting unit in each of his last four contests, and he has been productive overall with three double-digit scoring outings and one double-double in that span. He's averaging 10.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as a starter, a role he's expected to retain when playing against Western Michigan on Tuesday.

Konieczny is in the starting lineup for Friday's game versus Oklahoma State, Tom Noie of the South Bend Tribune reports.

Konieczny will replace Braeden Shrewsberry in the starting five Friday. Konieczny is coming off an impressive outing against Auburn, in which he tallied 18 points, 11 rebounds and one steal.

Konieczny will redshirt Notre Dame's 2022-23 season, according to Tom Noie of the South Bend Tribune.

Konieczny was not expected to be a valued member of the Fighting Irish's 2022-23 rotation, so he is redshirting to maintain his sophomore eligibility. Dane Goodwin and Trey Wertz are expected to graduate by the time Konieczny returns.
