Breece Hall Injury News & Updates
Keep up with the latest injuries from the Jets vs Ravens game on Sunday with our National Football League injury report.Nov 13, 2025
Modest production in Week 11 loss
Hall rushed 14 times for 58 yards and brought in both targets for six yards in the Jets' 27-14 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Hall unsurprisingly had a modest showing against the toughest run defense in the league, posting a long run of 11 yards while logging just three more carries than Justin Fields. The versatile back also had a muted impact through the air, finishing with his second-lowest receiving yardage total of the season. Despite the Jets' lack of postseason aspirations, Hall appears set to remain a clear lead back with a robust workload most weeks, although he'll have another tough task when the Jets travel to face an improving Ravens defense in a Week 12 matchup on Sunday, Nov. 23.

Carries offense in Week 10 win
Hall rushed 21 times for 83 yards and caught his only target for a 42-yard touchdown in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Hall took a screen pass to the house for a 42-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. The Jets' two longest offensive plays besides that touchdown were runs of 30 and 22 yards by Hall. After having zero touchdowns through seven games, Hall has produced two rushing touchdowns, a receiving score and a touchdown pass across his last two outings. He should continue to lead the Jets' run-heavy offense Thursday against the Patriots.
Oct 26, 2025
Three fourth-quarter TDs in win
Hall (knee) rushed 18 times for 133 yards and two touchdowns, caught two of three targets for 14 yards and threw a four-yard touchdown pass in Sunday's 39-38 win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Hall scored his first touchdown of the season on a five-yard run early in the fourth quarter, then doubled that total with a 27-yard touchdown run that featured some impressive footwork to stay inbounds along the sideline. He capped the improbable fourth-quarter comeback with a four-yard touchdown pass to Mason Taylor, as the ensuing PAT gave the Jets their first lead of the game with 1:54 remaining before the defense closed the door. Hall will have a Week 9 bye to help his recovery from a knee injury that limited his practice participation and had him listed as questionable heading into Sunday's win, and he should reprise his role as the team's top backfield option in Week 10 against the Browns.

Cleared to play Week 8
Hall (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Though Hall took a questionable tag into the weekend, the Jets didn't provide any indication that he was at major risk of sitting out Sunday after he turned in a full practice Friday. After averaging 5.3 yards per carry and 8.8 yards per reception through the Jets' first five games, Hall has struggled to find open running room in the last two contests, losses to Denver and Carolina. In those matchups, he took 33 carries for 97 yards (2.9 YPC) while producing a 2-14-0 receiving line on three targets. Hall's lack of productivity of late has been in some part tied to the poor play of quarterback Justin Fields, who struggled to move the offense in both of the past two weeks and appeared to be at risk of losing his starting job heading into Week 8. At least for one more game, however, Fields will retain the starting role for New York after Tyrod Taylor (knee) was ruled out in advance of Sunday's contest.
Oct 25, 2025
Slated to suit up Sunday
Hall (knee), who is listed as questionable to play Sunday against Cincinnati, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall dealt with a knee injury throughout the week and was limited in practice both Wednesday and Thursday. However, the fourth-year tailback was able to practice in full Friday, setting him up to take the field against the Bengals, barring a setback. He'll again be getting the ball handed and tossed to him by Justin Fields, who was announced as the team's starter for Week 8 on Saturday after some uncertainty about a change at QB during the week. No. 2 QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) has been ruled out for the contest.
Oct 24, 2025
Questionable after full practice
Hall (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals after practicing fully Friday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After being limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, Hall's ability to work fully Friday bodes well for his chances of being available versus Cincinnati. Fortunately for those considering the running back in Week 8 fantasy lineups, the Jets kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday. In the event that Hall is limited or out this weekend, Isaiah Davis and Khalil Herbert would be next in line for the 0-7 Jets' backfield snaps.
Oct 24, 2025
Questionable for Sunday
Hall (knee) is viewed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, with his participation level Friday slated to add further context with regard to his Week 8 availability. Per Allen, coach Aaron Glenn noted Friday of Hall and several other Jets who will be listed as questionable that he likes "the way those guys are trending." If Hall ends up limited or out Sunday, however, Isaiah Davis and Khalil Herbert would be next in line for added backfield snaps, given that Kene Nwangwu (concussion) won't be available versus Cincinnati.
Oct 23, 2025
Another limited practice
Hall (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Back-to-back limited sessions puts the focus on what Hall is able to do at practice Friday with regard to his standing ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals. While so far there's been nothing to suggest that he's in danger of missing the contest, the Jets' top back may need to close the week with a full practice in order to avoid a Week 8 injury designation. In any case, If Hall ends up limited at all or even sidelined versus Cincinnati, Isaiah Davis would be in line to see added snaps.
Oct 22, 2025
Limited by knee issue
Hall (knee) was limited at practice Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall logged a 54 percent snap share in this past Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Panthers, en route carrying 11 times for 38 yards and adding two catches on three targets for 14 yards. Now that's been deemed a limited participation in practice Wednesday, the running back's status is worth monitoring ahead of this weekend's game against the Bengals. If Hall ends up limited or sidelined versus Cincinnati, Isaiah Davis would be in line to see added backfield snaps in Week 8.
Oct 19, 2025
Held to 52 total yards
Hall rushed the ball 11 times for 38 yards in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Panthers. He added two receptions on three targets for 14 yards.
ANALYSIS
The Jets had an abysmal offensive showing, mustering only 220 net yards on 60 plays. Hall was a part of that, though he had very little running room as the offense offered minimal threat through the passing game. His longest gain from scrimmage was only eight yards, and Hall has now been held below 60 total yards in four of seven games this season. Given that he's also yet to find the end zone, his fantasy output has been very volatile.
Oct 12, 2025
Big workload in London loss
Hall rushed 22 times for 59 yards and recovered a fumble in the Jets' 13-11 loss to the Broncos on Sunday in London.
ANALYSIS
Hall's workload was his largest of the season yet, as the Broncos and Jets engaged in a slugfest where pass protection was at a premium for Justin Fields, who was sacked nine times. Turning to Hall didn't yield particularly encouraging dividends for New York, however, as Denver's talented defense held the talented running back to a long run of eight yards. Hall had come in on an encouraging two-game stretch where he'd amassed 194 rushing yards on 28 carries against the suspect defenses of the Dolphins and Cowboys, but the notable increase in the caliber of competition Sunday served to neutralize him. Hall and the Jets get an easier assignment in their return stateside, as the Panthers will pay a visit to MetLife Stadium next Sunday for a Week 7 interconference clash.
Oct 5, 2025
Big yardage again in loss
Hall carried the ball 14 times for 113 yards and caught four of five targets for 42 yards in Sunday's 37-22 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
The running back briefly left the game in the first half after fumbling in the red zone late in the second quarter, but Hall returned in the second half and racked up some big yardage once again in a losing effort. The 113 rushing yards were a season high for the fourth-year RB, as were the 42 receiving yards, but he's still looking for his first touchdown of 2025 -- something he came agonizing close to in the fourth quarter, when he was tackled just short of the goal line on a 16-yard reception. Hall will look to get into the end zone in Week 6 against a Broncos defense that just gave up a 47-yard receiving TD to Saquon Barkley, but otherwise held him in check.
Sep 29, 2025
Racks up 111 yards on MNF
Hall carried the ball 14 times for 81 yards while bringing in five of six targets for 30 yards in Monday's 27-21 loss to the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Hall bounced back from a pair of ugly outings by cracking the century mark in total yards for the second time this season. Braelon Allen (4-26-0) was nearly splitting work with the starter before exiting the game in the first half after taking a shot to his knee. The injury forced offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand to give Hall -- the Jets' obvious top rushing option -- enough touches to actually generate positive fantasy results. The 24-year-old has yet to hit pay dirt through four starts, a trend Hall is hoping to buck in a tasty matchup on paper against the Cowboys on Sunday.
Sep 21, 2025
Held in check by Bucs
Hall carried the ball nine times for 21 yards and caught four of six targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year RB posted disappointing numbers for the second straight week as Hall drifted closer to a full timeshare with Braelon Allen, seeing 13 touches to the younger back's eight and barely out-producing him (52 yards to 47). Hall is still looking for his first TD of 2025, and through three contests he's averaging 4.1 yards per carry on 38 totes. He'll try to break out in Week 4 against a Dolphins defense that just got gashed for 108 yards and a touchdown by the Bills' James Cook.
Sep 14, 2025
Modest production in Week 2 loss
Hall rushed 10 times for 29 yards and caught two of three targets for nine yards in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Hall finished second on the team in both rushing yards and receiving yards, as Garrett Wilson (50) was the only Jet to reach double digits in the latter category. Justin Fields couldn't get anything going through the air prior to sustaining a concussion in the fourth quarter, and the lack of any passing threat made it hard for Hall to find any holes against a sucked-in Bills defense. Backup Brealon Allen handled just two carries, so at least Hall's locked in as the lead back heading into a Week 3 trip to Tampa Bay.
Sep 7, 2025
Racks up 145 scrimmage yards
Hall rushed 19 times for 107 yards and caught two of four targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 34-32 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Hall ripped off an 18-yard run on the game's first play, setting the tone for a strong performance on the ground. He was also the team's second-leading receiver behind Garrett Wilson. Braelon Allen had an eight-yard touchdown run but mustered only one yard on five other carries, so Hall's the clear lead back for the Jets heading into a Week 2 home game against the Bills.
Aug 16, 2025
Nets seven carries Saturday
Hall turned seven carries into 26 yards and didn't haul in his only target during Saturday's 31-12 preseason loss to the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Hall and Braelon Allen split the backfield work during the Jets' first two possessions of preseason Week 2, with the latter also earning seven carries (for 34 yards) on the evening. The operation under new head coach Aaron Glenn figures to be ground-based, considering the mobile Justin Fields will be directing the offense this season, but Hall appears as if he'll be ceding some carries to Allen on a weekly basis. Hall is coming off a third pro campaign in 2024 in which he notched 1,359 yards from scrimmage and eight total TDs on 266 touches across 16 regular-season games.
Aug 9, 2025
Three carries in preseason opener
Hall rushed three times for nine yards and wasn't targeted during the Jets' 30-10 preseason win over the Packers on Saturday night.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year pro had a chance to share a backfield with new quarterback Justin Fields for the first time in a game setting, and Hall took a pair of handoffs from the latter on the Jets' first two plays from scrimmage. Hall would net five yards on those carries and log one more touch on a first down in the red zone during the same possession, but Braelon Allen also saw action during the drive. Hall's night was done after that third rush attempt, but he could be due for more work in New York's second preseason contest next Saturday night against the Giants.
Aug 5, 2025
Returns to practice
Hall (undisclosed) returned to Tuesday's practice a few minutes after leaving the field to talk with trainers, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
ANALYSIS
He apparently avoided a significant injury and will jump back in with the first-team offense ahead of Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis. There's been chatter this summer about Allen in particular taking more work away from Hall, but we may have to wait until Week 1 to have a good idea about how that plays out.
Aug 5, 2025
Leaves practice early
Hall left Tuesday's practice early with a trainer, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall walked off the practice field Tuesday morning, leaving Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis to handle first-team backfield reps. There's been some chatter this summer about the new coaching staff dividing RB work more evenly, with Allen in particular said to be making a good impression, but Hall still figures to be the starter and lead runner heading into Week 1, assuming the injury Tuesday morning is nothing serious.
Jun 13, 2025
Motivated to prove himself again
Hall said at mandatory minicamp Wednesday he's motivated "to go prove that I am 'The Guy'" to a new regime led by new head coach Aaron Glenn, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Glenn talked up using all of Hall, Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis "as much as possible" earlier this offseason, but Hall is committed to securing another workhorse role for 2025. "We have a great running back room," Hall said, "but my mentality is every day I'm going to prove that I am the best back on this roster and one of the best backs in the league." He also revealed that despite suiting up for 16 regular-season games in 2024, the knee injury he dealt with was more serious than previously disclosed. "If I could go back, I probably would have taken more time off," the 24-year-old said. If Hall's production dip in 2024 can indeed be explained away by injury and the Jets' overall struggles on offense, his three-down and talent level will put him in solid position to bounce back to elite levels in 2025. Glenn and new offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand are both acquainted with Detroit's run-heavy, two-back approach, but in New York it's possible that QB Justin Fields could mix in alongside Hall more than
Mar 31, 2025
Needs to impress new coaches?
New Jets coach Aaron Glenn said Monday that Hall is one of three running backs that the team wants to "utilize as much as possible," Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The other two presumably are 2024 fourth-round pick Braelon Allen and 2024 fifth-round pick Isaiah Davis, both of whom had some nice moments as rookies while spelling Hall off the bench during his disappointing season. It won't come as any surprise if the uber-talented Hall improves in 2025 and re-establishes himself as a workhorse back under a new coaching staff, but it's nonetheless interesting to see the contrast between Glenn's comment on Hall and what he said when reporters asked about WR Garrett Wilson. Glenn referred to Wilson as a "dynamic player" and said the Jets will try to get him the ball "as much as possible."
Jan 5, 2025
Posts 1,359 scrimmage yards in 2024
Hall rushed 12 times for 57 yards while catching three of five targets for 15 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 32-20 win over the Dolphins. He also ran in a two-point conversion.
ANALYSIS
Hall caught a six-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to cap the scoring with 2:30 remaining in the fourth quarter. That was the 503rd -- and possibly, final -- touchdown pass of Rodgers' NFL career. Hall finishes the 2024 season with 876 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 209 carries, along with 57 catches for 483 receiving yards and three receiving scores on 74 targets. He's likely to return as the lead back for the Jets in 2025, ahead of 2024 draft picks Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis.
Dec 29, 2024
Limited usage in lopsided loss
Hall rushed 10 times for 45 yards and caught his only target for eight yards in Sunday's 40-14 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Hall had an 18-yard run wiped out by a penalty in the first quarter, which was one yard longer than his longest official run of the afternoon. He was finding some decent running room early, but the Jets largely abandoned the run after falling into a significant hole. Isaiah Davis and Braelon Allen combined for nine carries, and the Jets will likely keep both rookies involved in the offense against the Dolphins in Week 18 against the Dolphins, lowering Hall's ceiling.
Dec 22, 2024
Gets 19 touches in Week 16 loss
Hall rushed 14 times for 52 yards and caught five of six targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 19-9 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Hall wasn't particularly efficient, but he showed that he's over the knee injury that has been bothering him in recent weeks, as Hall's 19 touches marked his highest total since he tied his season high with 23 in Week 11. That robust workload helped Hall reach 90 scrimmage yards for the sixth time in 14 appearances this season. Hall was stuffed on fourth-and-1 in Jets territory for a turnover on downs in the second quarter and didn't get any goal-line opportunities. He'll likely continue to work as the clear lead back over Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis in Week 17 against Buffalo.
Dec 15, 2024
Scores game-winning TD in return
Hall (knee) rushed nine times for 30 yards and a touchdown while catching both of his targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 32-25 win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Hall wasn't efficient in his return after a one-game absence due to a knee injury, and he ceded a combined seven carries to Isaiah Davis and Braelon Allen, the latter of whom exited due to a back injury. The lead back salvaged his fantasy stat line with a one-yard rushing touchdown, which broke a 25-25 tie with 1:05 left in the fourth quarter. If Hall avoids any setbacks in practice, he'll likely get a larger workload in Week 16 against the Rams.
Dec 15, 2024
Cleared to play Week 15
Hall (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out last Sunday's 32-26 overtime loss to the Dolphins due to the knee injury, Hall will make his return to action in Week 15. The Jets held Hall out of their first two practices of the week while he continued to manage the injury, but he turned in a full session Friday before being listed as questionable heading into the weekend. Despite carrying the designation, Hall had been expected to play all along, though the extent of his role is difficult to project coming off the injury. While he should start, Hall may not handle the 70-plus-percent snap shares that have been typical for him this season and could instead cede more work than usual to backups Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis.
Dec 14, 2024
Expected to suit up Sunday
Hall, who is questionable for Sunday's matchup versus Jacksonville, is likely to play, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall missed last Sunday's loss to Miami due to a knee injury and sat out the Jets' first two practices this week. However, he returned to a full session Friday and now seems set to return to action against the Jaguars. Both Braelon Allen (11 carries for 43 yards and four catches for 38 yards) and Isaiah Davis (10 carries for 40 yards with a touchdown and three receptions for 27 yards) got increased opportunities last week, but unless Hall's workload is managed Sunday, neither figures to see the same workload Sunday.
Dec 13, 2024
Questionable after full practice
Hall (knee) -- who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars -- practiced fully Friday, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
As Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff approaches, Hall, who was sidelined this past weekend, is trending in the right direction, with interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich noting of the running back after practice Friday, "he looks good right now, so it's promising," Rich Cimini of ESPN reports. Though it appears as though Hall has a decent chance of being available versus Jacksonville, Cimini suggests that in such a scenario, Hall could have a reduced role in Week 15, considering the emergence of rookie RBs Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis, who split carries in last Sunday's overtime loss to Miami.
Dec 13, 2024
Questionable, but coach hopeful for Sunday
Hall (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Allen, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich is hopeful regarding the running back's Week 15 status, with Rich Cimini of ESPN.com relaying that Ulbrich noted on that front that it "looks good ... promising" for Hall. Fortunately for those considering Hall in fantasy lineups, the Jets kick off at 1:00 ET on Sunday. If, however, he's limited or out versus Jacksonville, Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis would be in line to split the Jets' backfield duties.
Dec 12, 2024
Logs another missed practice
Hall (knee) didn't practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Hall did make an appearance in the injury rehab area, per Cimini, this marks the fifth straight practice that the running back has missed. Friday's final injury report will relay whether Hall has any chance to face the Jaguars on Sunday, but if he remains unavailable for the contest, Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis would be in line to split the Jets backfield duties in Week 15.
Dec 11, 2024
No practice, still bothered by knee
Hall (knee) didn't participate in a walk-through practice Wednesday, with coach Jeff Ulbrich saying that the running back is "struggling a bit" with his injury, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jets reportedly don't want to shut Hall down for the season, but they don't sound especially optimistic about his chances to avoid a multi-game absence. Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis had a 50/50 split of the backfield with Hall inactive for Sunday's 32-26 loss to Miami, both topping 50 percent snap share while getting 16 opportunities (11 carries and five targets for Allen vs. 10 carries and six targets for Davis). A similar approach is likely if Hall is out again this Sunday against the Jaguars.
Dec 8, 2024
Not slated to be shut down
The Jets aren't planning to shut down Hall (knee) for the season despite ruling him out for Sunday's Week 14 matchup against Miami, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
New York has little reason to put any of its players at risk of worsening an injury given the team's 3-9 record, but the organization doesn't appear to be viewing Hall's knee issue as something that should be season-ending. On Saturday, the third-year running back was downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, but it's worth noting that earlier in the week interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich had expressed optimism about Hall's chances of suiting up. It's not yet clear what the likelihood is of Hall missing next Sunday's contest against Jacksonville, but while he is sidelined the Jets' backfield work will likely go primarily to Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis.
Dec 7, 2024
Will not play Sunday
Hall (knee) has been downgraded to out ahead of Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Hall was listed as doubtful for the contest following Friday's final injury report, so this designation shouldn't be that surprising. As a result, Braelon Allen projects to be the team's workhorse, but the fourth-round rookie has struggled mightily with his limited opportunities as of late averaging under three yards a carry on 35 attempts dating back to Week 6. If Allen's lackluster production continues, don't be surprised if fifth-round rookie running back, Isaiah Davis, gets a crack at more opportunities. Davis scored his first career touchdown in the Week 13 loss to the Seahawks and was a proven workhorse in college tallying 4,548 rushing, 487 receiving yards and 50 touchdowns for South Dakota State.
Dec 6, 2024
Listed as doubtful for Week 14
Hall (knee) is officially listed as doubtful for Sunday's divisional matchup against the Dolphins, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and spent Friday's session working in the rehab area, per Brian Costello of the New York Post. The third-year pro's knee injury appears set to keep him sidelined Week 14, though an official decision on Hall's status may not arrive until 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Rookies Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis will be the top candidates to lead New York's backfield until Hall is healthy enough to retake the field.
Dec 5, 2024
Sidelined for another practice
Hall (knee) wasn't on the field for Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall is thus set to be listed as a non-participant on the Jets' second straight practice report, setting up Friday's session to be an important one with regard to determining the running back's availability for Sunday's game in Miami. On Wednesday, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich was optimistic about Hall's chances of playing Sunday, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, though that tone may have changed after the 23-year-old missed his second straight practice. If Hall can't play this weekend or is subject to a limited workload, more opportunities would open up for rookies Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis out of the backfield.
Dec 4, 2024
Coach optimistic despite no practice
Hall (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, but coach Jeff Ulbrich sounded optimistic about the running back's chances of playing Sunday against Miami, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Ulbrich may have been optimistic, but he also acknowledged that it's too early in the week to know if Hall and other injured players will play, per SNY Jets. And while Hall played through the knee injury after being listed as questionable last week, he finished with season-low 62 percent snap share and 12 touches in a 26-21 loss to Seattle on Sunday. It's possible his workload disappoints again in Week 14 if he ends up playing, with rookies Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis both looming as threats to take valuable snaps/touches away from a banged-up Hall.
Dec 1, 2024
Just 12 touches in loss
Hall (knee) rushed 12 times for 60 yards and ran in a two-point conversion in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the Seahawks. He didn't catch his only target and fumbled twice, losing one.
ANALYSIS
After the Jets' PAT was blocked following their first touchdown, Hall ran in a two-point conversion to extend the lead to 14-0 after New York's second score. Hall tied his season low with just 12 touches, though, and he fumbled at the end of an 11-yard run in the third quarter. He was nursing a knee injury heading into the game, which likely explains why Hall ceded more touches than usual to backups Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis, who combined for 59 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on six carries and five targets. If Hall manages to avoid the injury report as the Jets prepare to face the Dolphins in Week 14, that could portend a larger workload against a Miami defense that has been more vulnerable to the run than the pass.
Dec 1, 2024
Cleared to suit up Sunday
Hall (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After tweaking his knee during the Jets' Week 11 loss to the Colts, Hall was still sore coming out of a Week 12 bye and sat out Wednesday's practice. Though the Wednesday absence initially seemed to put his availability for Sunday's game in peril, Hall made steady improvement throughout the week, as he upgraded to limited participation Thursday before putting in a full practice Friday. While Hall still carried a questionable designation into the weekend, now that he's been cleared to play, he should be expected to handle something close to a normal workload Sunday. Hall has earned no fewer than 14 touches in each of the Jets' last six games, averaging 5.0 yards per carry and 10.1 yards per reception while scoring three touchdowns over that stretch.
Nov 29, 2024
Questionable but expected to play
Hall (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks but is expected to play after being a full participant in Friday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Optimism over Hall's availability is supported by his ramp-up in activity level throughout the week, as Hall went from DNP on Wednesday to limited Thursday before practicing without limitations Friday. Hall hurt his knee during the Jets' 28-27 loss to the Colts in Week 11, per Cimini, but the running back managed to play through the injury before getting a chance to heal up during the Week 12 bye.
Nov 28, 2024
Returns to limited practice
Hall (knee) was deemed a limited practice participant Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall was a non-participant Wednesday, so his return to practice a day later, albeit in a limited fashion, is a positive sign regarding his status for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. Friday's injury report will reveal whether the running back works fully to close the week, as well as his Week 13 game status.
Nov 28, 2024
Spotted at practice Thursday
Hall (knee) was present for practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Cimini, Hall, who didn't practice Wednesday, participated in the open portion of Thursday's session, while working in agility and positional drills. The Jets' upcoming injury report will reveal the running back's official participation level, but his return to the field Thursday is an encouraging sign ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
Nov 27, 2024
Set to miss practice with sore knee
Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said that Hall will sit out Wednesday's practice due to knee soreness, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, Ulbrich said he's "still hopeful" that Hall will play Sunday against the Seahawks, but the Jets plan to take a wait-and-see approach with the star tailback. Hall tweaked his knee at one point during the Jets' Week 11 loss to the Colts, but he was able to check back into the contest. The 23-year-old seemingly developed soreness in the knee after the game, and even with a Week 12 bye to heal, Hall apparently isn't yet back to 100 percent. If Hall fails to progress in his recovery as hoped and ends up sitting out against Seattle, rookie Braelon Allen would be primed for a lead role out of the New York backfield.

Scores twice in Week 11
Hall rushed 16 times for 78 yards and a touchdown while catching all seven of his targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Hall's two touchdowns came in the span of three offensive plays after a 78-play touchdown drought by the Jets offense. He did the hard part after a short dump-off to score a 29-yard receiving touchdown late in the first half, then made a nifty move to put the ball just inside the pylon while falling out of bounds to cap an 18-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter. The Jets have underachieved at 3-8 heading into their Week 12 bye, but Hall's versatility out of the backfield allows him to stay heavily involved regardless of whether the team's playing from ahead or behind and will make him a strong fantasy play when the Jets return to action in Week 13 against the Seahawks.

Falls victim to game script
Hall rushed 10 times for 52 yards and caught all four of his targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 31-6 loss to Arizona.
ANALYSIS
Hall performed well on a per-touch basis Sunday, but the rushing attack was placed on the back burner after the Jets fell behind big in the second half. The speedy tailback remains one of the few bright spots for New York in 2024, providing consistent value for fantasy managers amid the team's struggles through 10 weeks. Hall should remain a strong play against the Colts next Sunday.
Nov 1, 2024
Another efficient rushing effort
Hall rushed 15 times for 74 yards and brought in two of four targets for 11 yards in the Jets' 21-13 win over the Texans on Thursday night. He also fumbled once but recovered.
ANALYSIS
Hall saw his rushing opportunities stall somewhat with the Jets trying to overcome a deficit early in the second half, but he still finished with yet another impressive rushing performance. Hall has now averaged at least Thursday's 4.9 yards per carry in three of the past four games, a marked departure from his struggles with efficiency earlier in the season. Hall next takes aim at the Cardinals' vulnerable road defense in a Week 10 road matchup on Sunday, Nov. 10.
Oct 27, 2024
Gets 16 carries in loss
Hall rushed 16 times for 80 yards while catching one of three targets for nine yards in Sunday's 25-22 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Hall's 17 touches marked his third-lowest total of the season, as he didn't make much of a mark as a pass catcher while ceding a larger share of carries than usual to Braelon Allen (12 carries for 32 yards and a touchdown). Allen now has two rushing scores this season to Hall's three, and the Jets' inability to spend extended periods with the lead coupled to competition for valuable goal-line touches have cut into Hall's fantasy value. Hall and the Jets will try to end a five-game losing streak Thursday against the Texans.
Oct 20, 2024
Tops 100 receiving yards in loss
Hall rushed 12 times for 38 yards and a touchdown while catching six of nine targets for 103 yards in Sunday's 37-15 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Hall scored a 13-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter and came three yards shy of another score on a 57-yard catch in the second quarter. That long reception helped Hall finish as the surprising team leader in receiving yards, overshadowing Garrett Wilson (61) and Jets debutant Davante Adams (30), who both tied Hall for the team lead in targets. Adams' gravity could help free up more space for Hall as defenses devote more resources to defending the wide receiver position, but the offensive line has struggled to open up running lanes all season. Hall's averaging a modest 3.7 yards per carry heading into a Week 8 road game against the Patriots.
Oct 14, 2024
Posts 169 total yards on MNF
Hall rushed 18 times for 113 yards and caught five of six targets for 56 yards in Monday's 23-20 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Hall broke out for a season-high 169 scrimmage yards. He produced numerous chunk gains on the ground, including a 42-yard run, but the star running back was kept out of the end zone for a third consecutive game after opening the season on a three-game touchdown streak. Hall got 23 touches to Braelon Allen's three, so the former has reestablished his status as the team's bellcow running back under new playcaller Todd Downing heading into a Week 7 trip to Pittsburgh.
Oct 13, 2024
Jets committed to run
The Jets' interim coach Jeff Ulbrich is committed to building a run-first offense, Jay Glazer reported on Fox NFL Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hall hasn't been able to get untracked for most of this season, so any positive talk will be welcomed but also met with skepticism until we see real changes that help him and Braelon Allen out.
Oct 6, 2024
Scripted out of loss
Hall rushed the ball nine times for 23 yards in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the Vikings. He added three catches on four targets for 14 yards.
ANALYSIS
The Jets fell behind early in the contest, limiting Hall to single-digit carries for the second consecutive week. He had poor overall efficiency, though he did show some burst with 10 and seven-yard gains on separate carries. While it was a frustrating performance for a second-straight game, Hall still clearly held the lead-back role for New York, as he had 12 total touches compared to six for Braelon Allen.
Sep 29, 2024
Bottled up in Week 4 loss
Hall rushed 10 times for four yards while catching two of five targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Hall was stuffed on a pair of carries from the 1-yard line to end the first quarter, and he finished the quarter with minus-3 yards on seven carries. He was outplayed by Braelon Allen (eight carries for 34 yards) thereafter as the Jets failed to score a touchdown while battling inclement weather in this disappointing loss. Hall's averaging just 3.1 yards per carry on his 56 attempts compared to Allen's 4.8 YPC on 27 carries heading into a Week 5 matchup with the Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
Sep 19, 2024
Productive all-around game Thursday
Hall rushed 16 times for 54 yards and a touchdown and secured four of five targets for 29 yards in the Jets' 24-3 win over the Patriots on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Hall was outgained by rookie teammate Braelon Allen, who notably garnered 11 carries of his own and outgained Hall by one yard. However, of the two, it was Hall who found the end zone, recording a one-yard touchdown run just before the halfway point of the second quarter. The third-year pro also posted the second-most receptions on the Jets for the night, and Hall now has 16 catches on 19 targets for the first three games. He'll now prep for a favorable Week 4 home matchup against the Broncos on Sunday, Sept. 29.
Sep 15, 2024
Starts season on two-game TD streak
Hall rushed 14 times for 62 yards while catching seven of eight targets for 52 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
A 30-yard run and 26-yard touchdown catch two plays apart in the third quarter accounted for a substantial chunk of Hall's production. Backup running back Braelon Allen scored two touchdowns on seven touches, but Hall's still the clear top dog in New York's backfield. Hall has racked up 21 touches in each of the Jets' first two games, and his ability to contribute as both a rusher and a pass catcher should help keep him heavily involved on a weekly basis regardless of game script. After splitting two games on the road, Hall and the Jets will play their first home game of the season Thursday against the Patriots.
Sep 9, 2024
TD, fumble in Week 1 loss
Hall rushed 16 times for 54 yards and a touchdown while catching five of six targets for 39 yards and losing a fumble in Monday's 32-19 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Hall atoned for a fumble on the Jets' second possession with a three-yard touchdown run on the next drive. He failed to get in on a two-point conversion attempt in the third quarter after the first of Allen Lazard's two touchdown catches cut the deficit to 26-13. The Jets' makeover on the offensive line and the return of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers was supposed to help open up more running lanes for Hall, but the jury's still out in that regard, as his unimpressive 3.4 yards per carry Monday can be chalked up to facing an elite 49ers defensive front. Hall got the first 21 touches among Jets running backs before rookie Braelon Allen got a pair on the team's final drive, so Hall should continue to be a three-down workhorse against the Titans in Week 2.
Sep 4, 2024
Feeling good heading into season
Hall described himself as "better than ever" heading into his third NFL season, which begins Monday against the 49ers, per the Jets' official site.
ANALYSIS
Hall has been simulating star 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey in practice to help the Jets' defense prepare for the season opener, and Hall's one of the few running backs with comparable versatility and explosiveness to McCaffrey, as Hall's 1,585 scrimmage yards in the 2023 regular season were second among NFL running backs behind McCaffrey's 2,023. Hall's impressive production came despite his workload being managed to begin the year as he worked his way back from a torn ACL suffered in October of 2022, but he has no such physical limitations heading into the 2024 campaign.
Aug 22, 2024
Not in line for preseason appearance
Hall and other starters aren't in line to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Giants, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jets have held most of their starters out for the entire preseason, hoping to stay as healthy as possible for a Week 1 game at San Francisco on Monday Night Football. It's a tough matchup to start the season, but Hall's combination of talent and expected workload is hard to match, making him a first-round pick and every-week starter in the vast majority of fantasy leagues.
Aug 17, 2024
Not suiting up Saturday
Hall isn't slated to play in Saturday's preseason game at Carolina, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall is the only Jets running back not suiting up for the team's second exhibition, leaving Braelon Allen, Isaiah Davis, Israel Abanikanda, Deon Jackson and Xazavian Valladay to handle the backfield Saturday. With one preseason contest to go for New York, it remains to be seen if Hall will get any reps prior to Week 1, but if he doesn't he'll be looking to one up the 1,585 yards from scrimmage and nine total touchdowns that he compiled in 17 regular-season games in 2023.
Aug 10, 2024
Not in line to play Saturday
Hall is among the Jets' key skill players not slated to see action against the Commanders in Saturday's preseason opener, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The same applies to QB Aaron Rodgers, WRs Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams, Xavier Gipson and Allen Lazard, as well as TEs Tyler Conklin and Jeremy Ruckert. In Hall's absence, Braelon Allen, Isaiah Davis, Israel Abanikanda, Deon Jackson and Xazavian Valladay are available to handle backfield duties against Washington.
Jul 24, 2024
Good to go at training camp
Hall (lower body) is participating in 11-on-11 drills at Day 1 of Jets training camp Wednesday, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall didn't practice at June minicamp due to a lower body injury, though he noted that the coaching staff was mostly holding him out as a precautionary measure. The star running back said earlier this offseason that his knee already feels much better than during the 2023 season, when he was working his way back from an ACL tear. This year, he figures to benefit from improved O-line play, with the Jets having signed LT Tyron Smith, traded for RT Morgan Moses and added tackle Olu Fashanu in the first round of April's draft. Plus, the promise of a healthy Aaron Rodgers should allow New York's offense to take a step forward, after questionable quarterback play heavily limited the unit in recent seasons.
Jun 13, 2024
Could practice, team being cautious
Hall (lower body), who has been sidelined at minicamp, said Wednesday he "could practice right now" but that "the coaches are really cautious," John Pullano of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
"I do all the walkthroughs and stuff we've been doing," Hall said. While he's been present for OTAs and mandatory minicamp, Hall has been limited to work on the side due to what coach Robert Saleh called "some lower half stuff." The featured RB said he feels "a lot leaner this offseason" and that his knee "feels a lot better" than during the 2023 campaign. He's set lofty goals for improvement during the 2024 season, saying his targets are to earn his first All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors and match the standard of superstar 49ers tailback Christian McCaffery. Fantasy managers have similarly high expectations for Hall heading into Year 3, as he's one of the few running backs commonly in contention to come off the board early in Round 1 of fantasy drafts, along with McCaffrey and Bijan Robinson.
Jun 11, 2024
Not practicing at minicamp
Hall (lower body) won't practice Tuesday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall missed some OTA practices in May and now will sit out the first day of June minicamp. There's been no indication of a serious injury, but it'll be something to keep an eye on ahead of training camp in late July. With Hall absent Tuesday, rookies Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis should have opportunities to work with the first-team offense as they continue their competition for the No. 2 running back role.
Jun 4, 2024
Limited to side work
Hall is working off to the side at Tuesday's practice, with coach Robert Saleh telling reporters the running back is "dealing with some lower half stuff," Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall was first spotted with the Jets' rehab group last Wednesday and is now confirmed to be dealing with a minor injury. It doesn't sound like anything that will still be an issue when the Jets start training camp in late July, but it's possible Hall is limited or absent during mandatory minicamp June 11-13. Braelon Allen, Isaiah Davis, Israel Abanikanda and Tarik Cohen are all candidates to take first-team RB reps while Hall isn't practicing.
May 29, 2024
Seemingly has minor injury
Hall is working in the rehab area during practice Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While nothing has been reported so far this offseason, Hall's presence with the rehab group suggests he picked up some kind of minor injury during a previous OTA practice or workout. Any absence(s) from team drills could free up first-team reps for Israel Abanikanda, Braelon Allen or Isaiah Davis, with recent signing Tarik Cohen potentially an option for third downs and two-minute drills.
Jan 7, 2024
Over 500 yards in last three games
Hall rushed 37 times for 178 yards and a touchdown while catching both of his targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 17-3 win over the Patriots. He also ran in a two-point conversion.
ANALYSIS
Hall saw the heaviest workload on the ground of his NFL career in the snowy season finale, and he broke the game open late with a 50-yard touchdown run, which he immediately followed up with a two-point conversion. The 22-year-old running back was spectacular down the stretch, racking up 507 scrimmage yards and four touchdowns over his last three games. Overall, Hall posted 994 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 223 carries along with 76 catches on 95 targets for 591 yards and four touchdowns. He didn't miss a game in his second NFL campaign after having his rookie year cut short by an ACL tear, and Hall should benefit from the expected return of quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) next season.
Dec 28, 2023
Another strong performance in loss
Hall rushed 13 times for 84 yards and secured all nine targets for 42 yards and a touchdown in the Jets' 37-20 loss to the Browns on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
For the second time in four days, Hall was the busiest skill-position player on the Jets while leading the way in rush attempts and receptions. The versatile back, who's frequently struggled with efficiency on the ground behind a poor run-blocking offensive line, has compiled 179 rushing yards on 33 carries in the last two games, production he's complemented with 21-136-1 line through the air on 25 targets. Hall will look to close out the season in similarly productive fashion and head into the postseason with some momentum when the Jets face off with the Patriots on the road on Jan. 7.
Dec 24, 2023
Erupts against Commanders
Hall carried the ball 20 times for 95 yards and two touchdowns and caught 12 of 16 targets for 96 yards in Sunday's 30-28 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
The running back was nearly a one-man offense for the Jets, leading the team in both rushing and receiving yards, and Hall's mammoth effort helped build a 27-7 lead by halftime that the defense managed to squander, requiring Greg Zuerlein to kick a game-winning field goal in the game's dying seconds. Hall hadn't scored a rushing TD since Week 6 and hadn't topped 50 rushing yards since Week 5, but he had scored three receiving touchdowns and seen heavy usage as a pass-catcher over the last couple months to stay somewhat productive. The second-year RB's numbers have been a roller coaster lately, but another downturn could be coming in Week 17 as Hall and the Jets will face a much tougher opponent in the Browns.
Dec 17, 2023
Just 18 total yards in shutout loss
Hall rushed six times for 12 yards and caught one of two targets for six yards in Sunday's 30-0 loss to the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Hall had been making up for poor rushing performances with strong receiving numbers in recent weeks, but the versatile running back failed to find any room as nobody on the Jets reached 30 scrimmage yards in the shutout loss. Starting quarterback Zach Wilson (head) got hurt in the first half, and the offensive line didn't open up any holes for Hall, Israel Abanikanda or Dalvin Cook, as the other two running backs combined for 12 yards on five carries. Hall will look to bounce back in Week 16 against the weak Washington defense.
Dec 15, 2023
Good to go against Miami
Hall (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After being limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, Hall was upgraded to full Friday and is ready to roll for Sunday's divisional tilt. Hall is coming off one of his biggest games of the season after totaling 126 yards and one touchdown on 18 touches last week in the Jets' upset win over the Texans.
Dec 14, 2023
Limited again Thursday
Hall (ankle) remained limited in Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall has been dealing with the ankle issue for weeks but has continued to play through it and has yet to miss a game this season. Hall is coming off one of his best games of 2023, totaling 126 yards and one touchdown on 18 touches last Sunday against the Texans. He should be fine for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Dec 13, 2023
Limited in practice
Hall (ankle) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall was listed as questionable with the same injury last week and ended up taking 18 touches for 126 yards and a touchdown in a 30-6 win over Houston. The Jets haven't been able to run the ball this season, but Hall has remained useful for fantasy managers thanks to his key role as a pass catcher and his impressive work picking up yards after the catch. He'll likely be fine to handle his usual workload Sunday at Miami.
Dec 10, 2023
Continues to excel as pass catcher
Hall (ankle) rushed 10 times for 40 yards while catching eight of nine targets for 86 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-6 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Hall hasn't scored on the ground since Week 6, but he has three receiving touchdowns during that drought, including his three-yard score in the fourth quarter against Houston. He set season highs in catches and receiving yards Sunday, and Hall has caught at least five passes in six of the last eight games. Hall's robust contributions as a receiver continue to make up for his lack of rushing production, as this was his seventh consecutive game with no more than 50 rushing yards. The ankle injury that limited Hall's practice reps heading into the game didn't seem to impact his performance, so he should continue to see a steady diet of both carries and targets in Week 15 against the Dolphins.
Dec 10, 2023
Good to go Sunday
Hall (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Texans, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Though he carried a questionable designation into the weekend for the second game in a row, Hall will ultimately get the green light to play through the ankle injury. He may be less healthy this week than he had been in Week 13, however; after practicing in limited fashion twice and once as a full participant last week, Hall managed just one limited practice in Week 14. In any case, Hall is expected to return to his familiar role as the Jets' lead back, and he'll be joined in the backfield by quarterback Zach Wilson, who is reclaiming starting duties after New York waived Tim Boyle on Tuesday. The poor play at quarterback and along the offensive line appears to be hindering Hall in the running game of late, as he's averaging just 2.2 yards per carry on 71 totes over his last six games. Hall has been able to keep his fantasy value afloat to some degree by catching 31 passes for 236 yards and two scores over that six-game stretch.
Dec 10, 2023
In line to suit up Sunday
Hall (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against Houston, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall logged a DNP/DNP/LP practice progression during Week 14 prep and entered the weekend with a questionable tag due to an ankle injury, but it appears that he'll be able to take the field Sunday. That has been the expected scenario since head coach Robert Saleh said Thursday that he was expecting the lead running back to be able to suit up. Hall's fantasy ceiling is limited to an extent by the Jets' shaky offensive line and poor QB play, but he's maintained a decent floor thanks to his work as a pass catcher.
Dec 8, 2023
Questionable after limited practice
Hall (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans after logging a limited practice Friday.
ANALYSIS
Friday marked the first time all week that Hall practiced in any capacity, but coach Robert Saleh said Thursday that he expects Hall to suit up. Hall's status will be cleared up 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. If Hall's unable to play or hampered by the injury, more touches will be in store for Dalvin Cook and possibly Israel Abanikanda.
Dec 8, 2023
Will practice Friday
Coach Robert Saleh said Friday that Hall (ankle) will take part in Friday's practice, adding that he expects Hall to play Sunday against the Texans, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, but he'll be back on the practice field Friday. While the running back still has a chance to avoid the final injury report, especially if he practices without limitations, it's more likely that Hall will wind up with a questionable tag following Friday's practice. Saleh is optimistic that Hall will avoid his first absence of 2023 come Sunday.
Dec 7, 2023
Expects to play this weekend
Hall (ankle) noted Thursday that he expects to play Sunday against the Texans, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, but the running back's comments suggest that he could practice in some capacity Friday. However, in such a scenario we'd expect Hall to need to practice fully in order to avoid an injury destination ahead of Week 14 action.
Dec 7, 2023
Still not practicing
Hall (ankle) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Al Iannazzone of Newsday, Hall -- who didn't practice Wednesday -- was spotted on a side field Thursday, so what the running back is able to do during Friday's session could be telling with regard to his status for Sunday's game against the Texans. If Hall is limited or out this weekend, Dalvin Cook would be in line for added backfield touches versus Houston.
Dec 6, 2023
Listed with ankle injury
Hall missed practice Wednesday with an ankle injury, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jets listed Hall with a hamstring injury last week, beginning with a missed practice Wednesday, but he progressed to full participation by Friday and ended up handling his normal workload in a loss to the Falcons after officially being listed as questionable. It isn't yet clear if the ankle injury this week represents more of a threat to Hall's gameday availability. The Jets host the Texans on Sunday, with Dalvin Cook likely looking at a large role as he starter if Hall can't play.
Dec 3, 2023
Doesn't do much with 19 touches
Hall (hamstring) rushed 13 times for 16 yards and caught six of eight targets for 29 yards in Sunday's 13-8 loss to the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
With defenses stacking the box and the offensive line failing to open up holes, Hall has been bottled up on the ground over the past two months. Since rushing for 117 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos in Week 5, Hall has just 198 rushing yards on 83 carries (2.4 YPC) and one rushing touchdown. Hall has made up for his struggles on the ground with contributions as a pass catcher over that seven-game span, catching 36 of 44 targets for 290 yards and two touchdowns. He didn't seem bothered by the hamstring injury that limited his practice participation leading up to Sunday's loss, and Hall hasn't had fewer than 14 touches in a game since Week 4, so he should continue to see plenty of volume in Week 14 against the Texans.
Dec 3, 2023
Gets green light for Week 13 game
Hall (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Hall had been listed as questionable heading into the weekend after the hamstring injury rendered him a limited participant in the Jets' first two Week 13 practice sessions, but much of the concern about his status was erased once he practiced fully Friday. Dalvin Cook (shoulder) is also active after being listed as questionable heading into Sunday, but Hall should continue to dominate the snaps and touches out of the backfield so long as the game remains competitive. While drawing more focus from defenses in recent weeks, Hall has struggled to just 2.6 yards per carry over his last six games, but he's seen ample involvement in the passing game during that stretch (30-261-2 receiving line on 36 targets) to help make up for some of his shortcomings as a rusher.
Dec 3, 2023
Expected to suit up vs. Falcons
Hall (hamstring) is expected to take the field Sunday versus Atlanta, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall is officially listed as questionable for Week 13 despite coming off a full practice session Friday, but things appear to be trending in the right direction for the young running back. Veteran backup Dalvin Cook (shoulder) is also expected to be available Sunday, while Israel Abanikanda (illness) remains questionable. Official word on Hall's status will arrive at least 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 1, 2023
Questionable after full practice
Hall (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Friday but remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jets' top three running backs are all questionable, as Hall's joined by Dalvin Cook (shoulder) and Israel Abanikanda (illness) on the injury report. Of the three, Hall's the only one that mustered a full practice Friday, suggesting he's in good position to handle his usual heavy workload as the Jets' lead back barring a setback. Confirmation on Hall's availability will come approximately 90 minutes before Sunday's game kicks off at 1 p.m. ET.
Nov 30, 2023
Another limited session
Hall (hamstring) remained limited at practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With another limited session under his belt, Hall will presumably need to practice fully Friday in order to approach Sunday's game against the Falcons without an injury designation. Assuming he's available this weekend, Hall will be in line to continue to lead the Jets' backfield in Week 13, but if he ends up limited or out versus Atlanta, Dalvin Cook would be next up for the team's carries.
Nov 29, 2023
Dealing with hamstring issue
Hall was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This is Hall's first practice limitation of any kind since September when he was still getting back to full strength from last year's ACL tear. He hasn't found much room to run of late, instead relying on pass-catching production and/or touchdowns to stay alive as a fantasy asset. There wasn't any sign of limitation in a loss to the Dolphins this past Friday, with Hall taking 14 touches for 49 yards while playing 66 percent of snaps on offense. He's finished in the range of 60-70 percent snap share six games in a row, and he'll likely be somewhere around that Sunday against the Falcons if he isn't too bothered by his hamstring.
Nov 24, 2023
Seven catches with Boyle at QB
Hall rushed seven times for 25 yards and caught seven of nine targets for 24 yards in Friday's 34-13 loss to the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
New York's offense was no better on the whole in Tim Boyle's first start at quarterback after Zach Wilson's benching, but on a positive note for Hall, Boyle's desire to get the ball out more quickly resulted in Hall tying his season high in targets. New York's banged up and ineffective offensive line isn't opening up any holes, so Hall has been held to fewer than 30 rushing yards in each of the past three games. Hall's seven carries marked his lowest total since Week 4 with the Jets playing catch up, but he's likely to see more volume on the ground in Week 13 against the Falcons while continuing to play a three-down role in New York's backfield.
Nov 20, 2023
Finds end zone in Week 11 rout
Hall carried the ball 10 times for 23 yards and caught five of six targets for 50 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 32-6 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
The running back's nine-yard TD on a pass from Zach Wilson right before halftime accounted for the Jets' only points on the afternoon. New York's stagnant passing game has allowed defenses to stack the box against Hall and prevent him from beating them on the ground, but he's still been able to find some production -- over the last five games, he has just 157 yards and one touchdown rushing, but 237 yards and two scores through the air. It's not yet clear whether coach Robert Saleh will keep Zach Wilson under center in Week 12 against the Dolphins or turn to career backup Tim Boyle, who took over in the second half Sunday, but neither QB is likely to make Hall's life easier.
Nov 12, 2023
Bottled up on ground again
Hall rushed 13 times for 28 yards while catching all three of his targets for 47 yards in Sunday's 16-12 loss to the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Hall had a would-be three-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter nullified by a holding penalty. The versatile running back has at least 47 receiving yards in three of the past four games, but he hasn't averaged more than 3.3 yards per carry in a game over that span. Hall continues to see plenty of volume in a Jets offense with few playmakers besides him and Garrett Wilson. He has handled at least 16 touches in each of the past five games heading into a Week 11 trip to Buffalo.

Modest output on 20 touches
Hall rushed 16 times for 50 yards and caught all four of his targets for 10 yards in Monday's 27-6 loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Hall had multiple double-digit gains wiped out by penalties, which contributed to the running back posting his lowest scrimmage yardage total since Week 3. He came in averaging 20 touches over his previous three games and hit that number on the nose in this one, so Hall continues to handle the bulk of the workload in the Jets' backfield. Even behind one of the league's least effective and most banged up offensive lines, Hall's combination of volume and playmaking will make him a strong Week 10 fantasy option against the Raiders.
Oct 29, 2023
Scores 50-yard receiving TD
Hall rushed 12 times for 17 yards and caught six of nine targets for 76 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 13-10 overtime win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
After a slow start for both offenses, Hall used his rare blend of elusiveness and speed to turn a simple check down into a 50-yard touchdown catch to put the Jets up 7-3. That looked like all the offense the Jets would muster as Hall was stymied on the ground and Zach Wilson couldn't get anything going in the passing game, but a late burst from the passing attack helped the Jets force overtime and eventually win. It's encouraging that the team is finding ways to get Hall the ball in the passing game when the run isn't working, but the offensive line's inability to consistently open up holes remains a concern as Hall gets ready to face the Chargers in Week 9.
Oct 15, 2023
Scores go-ahead TD late
Hall rushed 12 times for 39 yards and a touchdown while catching all five of his targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 20-14 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Running room was hard to come by against Philadelphia's stout front, but Hall stayed involved in the offense as a pass catcher out of the backfield, notching the second-most receiving yards of his young career while recording at least five catches for the first time since Week 3 of his rookie season in 2022. After New York's defense returned Jalen Hurts' third interception of the game to the eight-yard line, Hall scored an eight-yard rushing touchdown on the next play to put the Jets ahead 20-14 with 1:46 remaining in the fourth quarter. With 42 touches in the past two games, Hall has reclaimed the lead role in New York's backfield after being brought along slowly to start the season, and he'll be fresh for a heavy workload in Week 8 against the Giants after the Jets' Week 7 bye.
Oct 8, 2023
Unleashed for 194 total yards
Hall had 22 carries for 177 yards and a touchdown while catching all three of his targets for 17 receiving yards in Sunday's 31-21 win over Denver.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Robert Saleh stated that Hall would no longer have playing time limitations starting this week, and he stayed true to his word by giving his starting tailback 25 touches Sunday. Hall hadn't topped 13 combined touches in any of the Jets' previous four contests this season following his recovery from a torn ACL last October. Assuming his knee held up fine, the 22-year-old's ROS projections should experience a huge spike now that he is healthy and seeing a starter's workload. Hall will face a stiffer test against the Eagles next Sunday, but the speedy back should have plenty of chances to break off a big play as the Jets lean on the running game sans Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) this season.
Oct 4, 2023
Set for full workload
Coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday regarding Hall that "there is no pitch count with him anymore," which suggests that Hall will take on a larger workload moving forward, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jets managed Hall's touches over the first four weeks of the season to ensure that his knee was fully recovered from a torn ACL suffered last October. After being limited to 32 carries and 10 targets through four games, Hall figures to see a substantial increase in usage beginning with Sunday's game in Denver, as he had 111 combined carries and targets in seven games last season (15.9 per game). Hall's averaging 6.6 yards per rushing attempt in 2023, while Dalvin Cook has mustered just 2.5 YPC on his 30 carries and will likely be relegated to a change-of-pace role behind a healthy Hall.
Oct 2, 2023
Looks healthy on nine touches
Hall (knee) rushed six times for 56 yards and caught three of four targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Hall was limited during team practices as the team continues to ease him back in action after suffering a torn ACL last season. The Iowa State product was explosive when called upon, finishing as the Jets' leading rusher on just six carries. The 22-year-old has alternated single and double-digit carry games with mixed results through four weeks. Hall possesses the talent to break off a long score in a moment's notice, but his volatile touch count makes him a risky play against the Broncos next Sunday.
Sep 28, 2023
Puts in full practice
Hall (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
After tearing his ACL in addition to suffering a meniscus injury last October, Hall has made a clean recovery and has gained clearance ahead of each of the Jets' first three games by turning in at least one full practice every week. He appears to be getting healthier as the weeks roll along, as Thursday marks the first time that he's put in a full practice before the Jets' third session of a given week. Whether that translates to an increased workload Sunday against the Chiefs is uncertain, but Hall's playing time seems to be on an upward trajectory. After logging 32 percent of the offensive snaps in both of the Jets' first two games, Hall took on a 48 percent share in this past Sunday's loss to the Patriots.
Sep 27, 2023
Set for limited practice Wednesday
Hall (knee) will be limited at practice Wednesday, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jets continue to manage Hall's practice reps, but if the last few weeks are any indication the running should practice fully by the end of the week, setting the stage for him to suit up against the Chiefs on Sunday. In the Jets' Week 3 loss to the Patriots, Hall logged 31 snaps while rushing 12 times for 18 yards and catching one of his two targets for nine yards. Meanwhile, fellow RB Dalvin Cook was on the field for 16 snaps, carrying eight times for 18 yards and catching all three of his targets for 11 yards.
Sep 24, 2023
Bottled up in Week 3 loss
Hall rushed 12 times for 18 yards and caught one of two targets for nine yards in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
After the Jets mustered just one first down on their first five drives, Hall picked up two by himself on the ground on their final possession of the first half, including a six-yard run on 4th and 1 to set up a field goal for New York's first points of the game. Outside of that drive, the Jets' offensive line didn't open up many holes for Hall or Dalvin Cook, who rushed for 18 yards on eight carries. Outside of two long Hall runs in Week 1, neither running back has mustered much heading into a Week 4 matchup with the Chiefs.
Sep 22, 2023
Cleared for Week 3
Hall (knee) logged a full practice Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Hall's limited participation Wednesday and Thursday was due to load management on his surgically repaired knee. After following the same practice pattern last week, Hall was listed as questionable against Dallas, but he avoided an injury designation this time around. Hall got just four carries against the Cowboys as the Jets abandoned the run after falling behind early, but New York's expected to lean on the ground game more heavily in this AFC East rivalry game.
Sep 21, 2023
Logs another limited practice
Hall (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Hall was also limited Wednesday, but if last week's pattern is followed, the running back could return to a full session Friday. Either way, the Jets' final injury report of the week will clarify whether Hall (who has played in both of the team's first two games) approaches Sunday's contest against the Patriots listed as questionable or free of a Week 3 injury designation.
Sep 20, 2023
Limited practice as usual
Hall (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall's practice reps have been capped all season, with the Jets taking a cautious approach with his return from a torn ACL. He suited up for each of the team's first two games but saw his touches dip from 11 in Week 1 to four in Week 2 as the Jets fell behind early in Dallas and abandoned the run. "I only had four touches, that's why we struggled," Hall said after the Week 2 loss, per Andy Vasquez of NJ Advance Media, so the second-year running back is hoping for a larger workload in Sunday's upcoming home game against the Patriots.
Sep 17, 2023
Shut down in Sunday's loss
Hall carried the ball four times for nine yards and failed to catch his two targets in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
QB Zach Wilson actually led the Jets with 36 rushing yards, as Hall and Dalvin Cook were held to a combined 16 yards on eight carries in another dominant performance by the Dallas defense. It was a disappointing showing for Hall after his huge Week 1 return from last season's knee injury, and until he demonstrates some consistency, he should be viewed as a risky option heading into a Week 3 tilt against the Patriots.
Sep 17, 2023
Suits up against Dallas
Hall (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Hall logged back-to-back limited practices to start the week, but his full participation Friday set the stage for the 2022 second-rounder to suit up Sunday. Per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, coach Robert Saleh previously indicated that Hall is on track to remain on some level of a pitch count as the Jets ease the running back in after last year's torn ACL. In that arrangement, Dalvin Cook logged 16 touches to Hall's 11 in this past Monday's win over the Bills, a context that resulted Hall rushing 10 times for 127 yards (including an 83-yarder) and catching one of his two targets for 20 yards, while Cook carried 13 times for 33 yards and caught three passes for 26 yards.
Sep 15, 2023
Questionable after full practice
Hall (knee) logged a full practice Friday but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Dallas, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall started the week off with back-to-back limited practices, but his full participation Friday suggests the second-year running back is more likely than not to suit up Sunday. Per Cimini, coach Robert Saleh said Hall remains on a pitch count as the Jets ease the running back in after last year's torn ACL. Dalvin Cook had 16 touches to Hall's 11 in Monday's win over the Bills, and Cimini expects a similar distribution Sunday in Dallas.
Sep 14, 2023
Remains limited in practice
Hall (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Coming off a 10-carry, 127-yard rushing performance in the Jets' 22-16 overtime win over Buffalo on Monday, Hall has now been limited in both of the team's first practice sessions of Week 2. The Jets haven't suggested that Hall's limitations are the result of any setback with his surgically repaired knee, so his reps are presumably being capped for maintenance purposes more than anything. Hall should be ready to go by the time Sunday's game in Dallas arrives, and he could be in store for a slight uptick in playing time after logging just 17 snaps against Buffalo.
Sep 13, 2023
Starts week with limited practice
Hall (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Connor Hughes of SportsNet New York reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall will likely be a mainstay on the injury report in the first few weeks of the season as the Jets ease him in after last year's torn ACL, but the injury didn't inhibit his effectiveness in Monday's 22-16 win over the Bills. He racked up 109 yards on his first two carries and finished with 147 scrimmage yards on 11 touches. Hall's likely to earn more touches moving forward, and Wednesday's limited participation isn't indicative of a setback ahead of Sunday's game in Dallas.
Sep 12, 2023
Tops 100 rushing yards in return
Hall (knee) rushed 10 times for 127 yards and caught one of two targets for 20 yards in Monday's 22-16 overtime win over the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Hall got the start and immediately ripped off a 26-yard run on the Jets' first offensive play, showing that his surgically repaired knee is doing just fine. His next run didn't come until the second quarter, but it went even better, as Hall broke free for an 83-yard gain to flip the field after the Jets started on their own four-yard line. Dalvin Cook led the Jets with 13 rushing attempts but mustered just 33 yards on the ground, as Hall was the far more effective runner. Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) exited on the opening drive and could be out for the season, so the Jets will likely take on a more run-first approach at the expense of goal-line opportunities with Zach Wilson under center, which means both Hall and Cook can be expected to garner double-digit touches against Dallas in Week 2.
Sep 11, 2023
Suits up Monday
Hall (knee) is listed as active for Monday night's game against the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Hall, who was limited at practice Thursday and Friday and then listed as a full participant Saturday, drew an official injury designation of questionable ahead of Week 1 action, but as expected the 2022 second-rounder is available to face Buffalo. However, given that Hall is bouncing back from an ACL tear that he suffered last October, it remains to be seen what his initial workload will be out of the gate this season. With that in mind, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggests that the Jets plan to ease Hall back into the mix in the team's opener, and in that context Dalvin Cook is a candidate handle the bulk of the carries versus the Bills. Meanwhile, Michael Carter is also on hand to provide backfield depth alongside Cook and Hall and could mix in to some degree Monday.
Sep 9, 2023
Listed as questionable, should play
Hall (knee) is listed as questionable for Monday's contest against the Bills, but the running back is expected to play, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall was a full participant in Saturday's practice and the running back even said in the post-practice scrum that he's excited to play Monday, but the Jets did officially keep the questionable designation on him ahead of the primetime contest. The talented tailback is expected to share the backfield primarily with Dalvin Cook, although it's possible Michael Carter and Israel Abanikanda could mix in as well if the Jets want to present some different offensive looks.
Sep 9, 2023
Full participant in practice
Hall (knee) was a full participant in Saturday's practice and is expected to play in Monday's contest against the Bills, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Robert Saleh has often reiterated the Jets "have a plan" when it comes to workload balance of Hall, who is coming off a torn ACL midway through last season, and offseason acquisition Dalvin Cook. The prevailing assumption is the latter will receive more of the workload early on, especially as Hall works his way back into game shape, but Saturday's practice designation indicates both backs could, and probably will, see plenty of opportunities come Monday. The Jets have arguably one of the deepest backfields in the league, with capable backups Michael Carter and Israel Abanikanda also likely to see a couple of snaps in a given contest.
Sep 8, 2023
Another limited practice
Hall (knee) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall's limited participation was expected, as the Jets continue to ease him into practice ahead of his second NFL season. His impressive rookie campaign was cut short by a torn ACL, but Hall has been practicing at full speed since mid-August. While Hall's expected to suit up in Week 1 against the Bills on Monday, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports that Hall's likely to be on a snap count, with the Jets using Dalvin Cook, Michael Carter and Israel Abanikanda in the backfield as well.
Sep 7, 2023
In line to be limited Thursday
Coach Robert Saleh noted that Hall (knee) will be limited at Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Cimini previously indicated that Hall, who is bouncing back from an ACL tear that he suffered last October, is expected to play in Monday's season opener against the Bills, as is newcomer Dalvin Cook. Hall will have two more chances to log a full practice session ahead of Week 1 action, and assuming he's active against Buffalo, we'd expect the Jets to employ some form of a backfield time-share out of the gate.
Sep 4, 2023
On track for season opener
Coach Robert Saleh said that he expects Hall (knee) to suit up for Sept. 11's regular-season opener against the Bills on Monday Night Football, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Saleh said Hall won't practice Monday, as the result of a planned rest day. He and Dalvin Cook are both expected to suit up Week 1, and while Saleh said neither player will be on a snap count, he also cautioned that the Jets will be "prudent" with their respective workloads. That could foreshadow a relatively even committee between Hall and Cook to begin the season, potentially even with Michael Carter working in a fair amount. Hall appears to be recovering well from the ACL tear that cut his rookie season short, but he may have to ramp up his workload during the early weeks of the season.
Aug 30, 2023
May be limited early in year
The Jets plan to play Hall (knee) in Week 1 against Buffalo but may be cautious with his workloads early in the season, ESPN's Rich Cimini reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall returned to practice in mid-August and has been taking full-team reps for two weeks, putting him on track to play when the Jets host the Bills on Mon, Sept. 11. It isn't entirely clear he'll start, or even lead the team in Week 1 carries, as the Jets recently signed Dalvin Cook and still have Michael Carter to handle some passing situations. Hall will eventually be the lead runner but may first have to deal with a committee as he returns from last year's ACL tear.
Aug 22, 2023
Won't play in preseason finale
Hall (knee) logged 11-on-11 work during Tuesday's padless practice, but won't play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Giants, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, Hall seemed to be moving well laterally while participating in team drills Tuesday, which is a positive sign with regard to the running back's chances of being available for Week 1 action. Per Cimini, Dalvin Cook, who is bouncing back from a shoulder injury, also won't play Saturday, so the duo's practice reps in advance of the Jets' season opener will be worth monitoring closely, with the team's potential backfield carry allotment out of the gate still a matter in question.
Aug 17, 2023
Participating in team drills
Hall (knee) is taking part in 11-on-11 reps at practice Thursday, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall is handling team reps for the first time in training camp, quick work after having just been activated from the PUP list Tuesday. The Jets have expressed confidence that Hall will be available for Week 1, but said the plan is to ease him into a full workload, so to see him already taking part in 11-on-11 drills is noticeable to say the least. Meanwhile, new backfield mate Dalvin Cook (shoulder) continues to watch practice from the side. The outcome of training camp practices in the coming weeks, and perhaps also preseason action, stands to be very impactful in informing New York's early season backfield split.
Aug 16, 2023
Being eased back into the mix
In his return to practice Tuesday, Hall (knee) participated in light individual drills, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall, who suffered a torn ACL on Oct. 23 last season, was activated off the PUP list Tuesday, and not surprisingly is being eased back into the mix. While the report notes via coach Robert Saleh that the Jets are "very confident" Hall will be ready for Week 1, Cimini suggests that the team's plan is to limit the 2022 second-rounder's workload early in the season, while leaning more heavily on newcomer Dalvin Cook, whose signing with New York is now official. How much work Hall sees out of the gate in 2023 presumably hinges on how he looks as he ramps up his practice activity in the coming days and weeks, but the addition of Cook to a running back room that also includes Michael Carter, Zonovan Knight and rookie Israel Abanikanda, allows the team to proceed deliberately with Hall, who averaged 5.8 yards per carry in the seven regular-season games he saw action in last year prior to sustaining his injury.
Aug 15, 2023
Still aiming to play Week 1
Hall (knee) downplayed his return to practice Tuesday but is "confident" he'll be available for Week 1, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall, however, stopped short of guaranteeing that he'd play in the season opener against the Bills. The plan is to ease Hall along in practice and let him get his legs back before making any decisions on Week 1. Hall's fantasy stock took a hit Monday with the Jets' signing of Dalvin Cook.
Aug 15, 2023
Officially back at practice
The Jets reinstated Hall (knee - ACL) from the active/PUP list Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Hall is set to practice Tuesday on a limited basis, a significant step in the right direction for his recovery from a left ACL tear suffered Week 7 of his rookie season. New backfield mate Dalvin Cook (shoulder), signed Monday, isn't yet ready to practice due to his own recovery from an offseason procedure, but the hope in New York is that both will be back to full form shortly. If Hall's recovery lingers into the start of the regular season, or he needs time to ramp up his workload, Cook's presence provides the Jets a highly capable option to handle a starting workload. When Hall is fully healthy, however, it remains to be seen whether he'll operate as the clear backfield lead, or whether he and Cook handle more of a 1a/1b split.
Aug 15, 2023
To come off PUP list
Hall (knee) is expected to come off the active/PUP list Tuesday and be limited at practice, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall hasn't been officially activated quite yet, but the transaction will be a huge step forward for the second-year running back, who is working to be available Week 1. The Jets are fresh off agreeing to a contract with Dalvin Cook (shoulder), who isn't yet ready to practice himself due to surgery undergone February. Still, Cook's presence insures the backfield for New York and gives the team extra cushion to allow Hall all the time he needs to recovery fully. When both Hall and Cook are at 100 percent, it will be hugely impactful for fantasy purposes to see how the backfield workload is divvied up.
Jul 30, 2023
Still out a few more weeks
Head coach Robert Saleh said Sunday that Hall (knee) is expected back in a couple of weeks, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall continues to make strides in his recovery from ACL surgery, and the team remains optimistic he'll be ready for Week 1. However, the 2022 second-round pick still isn't close to being activated off the active/PUP list yet. The Jets have shown interest in signing Dalvin Cook this offseason, but if healthy, Hall is still slated to be New York's No. 1 running back in 2023.
Jul 20, 2023
Hits 23 mph on GPS
Hall reached 23 miles per hour while working out Thursday, Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Robert Saleh mentioned it while talking to reporters, adding that Hall looks "really good" and is trending toward being cleared for practice. The second-year pro is limited to individual drills, workouts and meetings for now, after the Jets placed him on the PUP list to start training camp. He technically can be kept on the list into the regular season, which would mean missing at least four games, but so far both Hall and Saleh have sounded optimistic about the running back's Week 1 availability. The Jets nonetheless are reported to have interest in free-agent RB Dalvin Cook, who would join a backfield that currently has Hall, Michael Carter, Zonovan Knight, fifth-round rookie Israel Abanikanda and undrafted rookie Travis Dye.
Jul 19, 2023
Placed on PUP
Hall (knee) is on the PUP list to start training camp, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall can come off the list and begin practicing at any time before Week 1. If he stays on PUP into the regular season -- which the Jets don't expect to happen -- he'll be ineligible for the first four games. Placement on the preseason PUP makes Hall ineligible for practice (for now) and keeps him eligible for the regular-season list in the event of a setback, but he can still workout, attend meetings and otherwise use team facilities. Hall and Jets coach Robert Saleh both have expressed optimism the running back will be ready for Week 1 of 2023 as he works his way back from an ACL tear suffered Week 7 of 2022.
Jul 17, 2023
Expects to play week 1
Hall (knee) recently told NFL Network's Mike Yam that he'll be ready for Week 1 against the Bills, Paul Andrew Esden of The Score 1260 reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2022 second-round pick spent his offseason rehabbing from the ACL tear he suffered Week 7 of his rookie season. Coach Robert Saleh said in late May that he was "very optimistic" about Hall being ready for Week 1, though the running back didn't participate in any offseason practices. Hall presumably needs to rejoin practice at some point in August (or late July) to have a shot at playing in the Monday opener against Buffalo on Sept. 11. The Jets have been connected to free-agent RB Dalvin Cook, which hints at a lack of confidence in Hall's health and/or concern about the depth behind him in the backfield -- Michael Carter, Israel Abanikanda, Zonovan Knight, Troy Dye.
May 31, 2023
Jets optimistic for Week 1
Coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday he's "very optimistic" about the chances of Hall (knee) being on the field Week 1, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Saleh affirmed that Hall's rehab from a left ACL tear is continuing on track, per Eric Allen of the Jets' official site, saying that the running looks powerful and has already hit over 22 miles per hour via GPS monitor. Though Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports Hall isn't expected to be ready for the start of training camp, the 2022 second-round pick could still be available to kick off the regular season as long as he can avoid any setbacks. Of course, Hall might be eased into action even if he does avoid missing any games. In that case, Michael Carter, Zonovan Knight and Israel Abanikanda could all see increased opportunities.
May 23, 2023
Not practicing yet
Hall (knee) isn't practicing Tuesday at OTAs, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, with Hall rehabbing an ACL tear suffered in October. He also damaged his meniscus, but that part wasn't considered serious and may not complicate his return process. The Jets seem optimistic about having the 2022 second-round pick available Week 1, with coach Robert Saleh telling reporters in April that Hall looked "fantastic". If it doesn't work out that way and he ends up missing games in September, the Jets can turn to Michael Carter, Zonovan Knight and Israel Abanikanda in the backfield.
Apr 21, 2023
Looking good so far
Jets coach Robert Saleh told reporters earlier in April that Hall (knee) "looks fantastic" as he continues his injury rehab process, ESPN.com's Rich Cimini reports.
ANALYSIS
The report notes that Hall is expected to be ready for Week 1, though Saleh didn't mention any specific timeline while briefly commenting on the running back. Saleh did say he expects a rebound season from 2020 fourth-round pick Michael Carter, who mostly failed to take advantage of Hall's absence after the rookie second-round pick suffered an ACL tear in October. Prior to the injury, Hall rapidly emerged as one of the more explosive runners in the league, averaging 5.8 yards on 80 carries and 11.5 yards on 19 receptions in six and a half games. The optimism regarding his rehab timeline is partially due to youth and partially because there wasn't any other serious damage accompanying the ACL tear, with a minor meniscus injury representing the only other issue in his affected knee. Still, Hall isn't likely to participate in spring practices and may be eased into training camp.
Jan 9, 2023
Could be ready for camp
Hall (knee) is progressing faster than expected in his recovery from a torn ACL, and the 21-year-old running back believes he could be ready for training camp in 2023, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to tearing his ACL in October, Hall was the leading candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year, rushing 80 times for 463 yards and four touchdowns while adding 19 catches for 218 yards and one touchdown on 31 targets in his first seven games. Hall's expected to lead the Jets' backfield once he's capable of handling a full workload, and this update at the end of the 2022 season suggests he could be ready from the get-go in 2023.
Oct 25, 2022
Move to IR official
The Jets officially placed Hall (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
This is merely a procedural move with Hall expected to miss the rest of the season after sustaining a torn ACL and meniscus damage in his left knee this past Sunday at Denver. A 2022 second-round pick, he'll thus finish his rookie campaign with 80 carries for 463 yards, 18 catches (on 31 targets) for 218 yards and five total touchdowns in seven games. On Monday, the Jets reinforced the backfield by making a trade with the Jaguars for James Robinson (knee), who will combine with Michael Carter to handle most of the backfield work moving forward. Aside from Robinson and Carter, the team also has Ty Johnson and Zonovan Knight on the active roster.
Oct 24, 2022
ACL tear confirmed
Hall (knee) suffered a season-ending torn ACL and minor meniscus injury during Sunday's 16-9 win over the Broncos, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall's impressive rookie season comes to an early end, and it's a brutal loss for the Jets, who with a 5-2 record now have to proceed forward without the offense's most explosive playmaker. Through seven contests, the 2022 second-round pick amassed 463 rushing yards on 80 attempts (5.8 YPC) with four touchdowns, in addition to securing 19 of 31 targets for 218 yards and another score. As Hall sets his sights on rehabbing for the 2023 campaign, Michael Carter looks like the favorite to step in as New York's lead backfield option, with Ty Johnson poised for the No. 2 role.
Oct 23, 2022
ACL tear feared
Hall's (knee) initial diagnosis "is not good," per coach Robert Saleh, and it's likely that the running back tore his ACL in Sunday's 16-9 win over the Broncos, Al Iannazzone of Newsday Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
If the feared torn ACL is confirmed, it would be a brutal loss for the Jets, as Hall had blossomed into one of the game's brightest stars at running back. Prior to getting hurt in the first half, he broke free for a 62-yard rushing touchdown to extend his touchdown streak to four games. Michael Carter took over as New York's lead back in Hall's absence, with Ty Johnson stepping into a change-of-pace role.
Oct 23, 2022
Hurts knee Sunday
Hall has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Broncos with a knee injury.
ANALYSIS
Prior to his exit, Hall carried four times for 72 yards and TD, but the fact that he was ruled out not long after he left the contest is concerning. In his absence, Michael Carter is in line to head the Jets' rushing attack, with Ty Johnson on hand to work in a complementary role.

Another big game
Hall rushed 20 times for 116 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Packers. He also caught both his targets for five yards.
ANALYSIS
Hall's performance was highlighted by a misdirection handoff that he took 34 yards for a touchdown to begin the fourth quarter. That play not only helped New York ice an unlikely victory, it also gave Hall a touchdown for the third straight game. After approaching 200 scrimmage yards last week, the rookie's production on the ground Sunday marked a new high and his first time in triple digits. Just six games into his career, Hall is one of the league's hottest tailbacks ahead of Week 7's visit to Denver.

Just shy of 200 scrimmage yards
Hall rushed 18 times for 97 yards and a touchdown while catching both of his targets for 100 yards in Sunday's 40-17 win over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Hall capped his 79-yard catch in the first quarter by dragging a defender nearly 20 yards, but he was ultimately tackled just short of the goal line. Michael Carter scored a one-yard touchdown on the next play, and a similar script unfolded in the fourth, when Carter scored from one yard out after a 21-yard Hall catch. Hall finally found the end zone himself from five yards out later in the fourth quarter, giving the rookie second-round pick a touchdown in three of his last four games. Carter's presence keeps Hall from taking on a true workhorse role, but Hall has emerged as one of the league's most explosive young running backs heading into a Week 6 trip to Green Bay.

Clear for Sunday
Hall (knee) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's contest against the Dolphins, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hall emerged from the Jets' Week 4 win at Pittsburgh with what coach Robert Saleh called "nicks and bruises," the result of a knee injury. It limited the rookie second-round pick in practice both Wednesday and Thursday, but after capping Week 5 prep with a full session, he's clear to play this weekend. Hall has been working in a timeshare with Michael Carter this season, but the former has earned a higher snap share the last two games, resulting in 33 touches for 170 yards from scrimmage and one rushing TD (as opposed to 23 touches for 75 total yards and no scores for the latter).

Another limited practice
Hall (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With back-to-back limited practices under his belt, Hall will presumably need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid a Week 5 injury designation. That said, so far there's been nothing to suggest that the rookie running back will miss Sunday's game against the Dolphins as he deals with what coach Robert Saleh described as "nicks and bruises" coming out of Week 4 action, per Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site.

Dealing with minor knee injury
Hall was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Robert Saleh included Hall and QB Zach Wilson (ankle) in the group of players dealing with "nicks and bruises" ahead of a home game against Miami this Sunday. The rookie RB more than doubled his previous high with 17 carries in a Week 4 win over Pittsburgh, with his snap share (66 percent) and rushing yardage (66) also easily new personal bests. Michael Carter still has a role, but Hall looks like the better Week 5 fantasy play -- assuming the knee injury isn't a major factor -- in light of his increased usage at Carter's expense last week.

Will be limited Wednesday
Hall is dealing with "nicks and bruises" and will be limited at practice Wednesday, per coach Robert Saleh, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
In the Jets' 24-20 win over the Steelers on Sunday, Hall saw action on 46 snaps on offense en route to recording 17 carries for 66 yards and a TD to go along with two catches of six targets for 12 yards. Though the running back's looming inclusion on the team's Week 5 injury report makes his status for this weekend's game against the Dolphins worth monitoring, at this stage it doesn't appear as though Hall's availability for the contest is in danger.

Scores game-winning TD in Week 4
Hall rushed 17 times for 66 yards and a touchdown while catching two of six targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 24-20 win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Hall was far more effective on the ground than Michael Carter, who mustered just 15 rushing yards on nine attempts. The rookie scored the game-winning touchdown in the final minute from two yards out. Hall was originally ruled short, but replays confirmed that he extended the ball across the plane of the goal line for his first career rushing touchdown. The Jets will continue to feed both running backs, but Hall's starting to separate himself as the team's top option on the ground heading into a Week 5 clash with the Dolphins.

Targeted 11 times in loss
Hall rushed eight times for 39 yards while catching six of 11 targets for 53 yards in Sunday's 27-12 loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
The Jets had to settle for a field goal on their first drive after Hall dropped a third-down pass with nothing but green grass between him and the end zone. Hall has racked up 21 rushing attempts and 21 targets through three weeks while splitting playing time with Michael Carter, so the rookie second-round pick's playing a prominent role out of the gate, though Hall's been far from a workhorse. He'll face the Steelers in Week 4 in what's expected to be starting quarterback Zach Wilson's (knee) season debut.

Scores first NFL TD in win
Hall rushed seven times for 50 yards and caught a 10-yard touchdown on his only target in Sunday's 31-30 win over Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Hall caught a 10-yard touchdown in the final minute of the first half, but that was his only target in Week 2 after Hall had 10 passes thrown his way in his NFL debut. Michael Carter also had seven carries but got more pass-catching opportunities, totaling five targets. New York has a near-even platoon between two running backs that are both capable of playing in all situations heading into a Week 3 visit from the Bengals.
Sep 11, 2022
Out-touched by Carter
Hall rushed six times for 23 yards and caught six of 10 targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 24-9 loss to the Ravens. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Michael Carter got most of the touches in the Jets' backfield, and deservedly so. Carter totaled 100 yards on 17 touches while Hall mustered only 61 scrimmage yards and fumbled just outside the red zone in the third quarter. Hall will likely start to take on a larger portion of New York's backfield snaps as the season goes on, but the rookie second-round pick is on the lower end of a platoon with Carter heading into the Jets' Week 2 trip to Cleveland.

Starting career alongside backup QB
With Zach Wilson (knee) expected to miss the first three weeks of the season, Hall will open the season on a Jets offense led by backup quarterback Joe Flacco against the Ravens on Sunday, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jets trade athleticism for experience under center with Flacco starting rather than Wilson, but they're likely to run a similar game plan either way. That game plan revolves around establishing the run, as OC Mike LaFleur comes from the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree in San Francisco. New York's unofficial depth chart lists second-year running back Michael Carter ahead of Hall, but the two will likely receive a near-even split in terms of playing time, with Hall favored to get touches by the goal line based on his short-yardage success at Iowa State.

Carries five times
Hall rushed five times for 13 yards in Sunday's 31-27 preseason win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Hall played the first quarter in New York's final tune up for the regular season, rotating with teammate Michael Carter. While both tailbacks are expected to feature in the Jets' first-team offense, Hall's combination of size and speed could make him one of the more dynamic offensive rookies over the course of the campaign.
Aug 28, 2022
Starting preseason finale
Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Hall, along with the rest of the team's offensive starters, will play at least the first quarter of Sunday's preseason finale against the Giants, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jets are treating the final exhibition game as a dress rehearsal, so it'll be interesting to see how they utilize their rookie second-round pick. Hall has admitted that the pro game has caused him to make some adjustments, but he's "progressing every day."
Aug 24, 2022
Adjusting to pro game
Hall, who logged a heavy workload for Iowa State last season, is adjusting to working in a Jets' running back group that also includes Michael Carter and Tevin Coleman, John Pullano of the team's official site reports. "I'm progressing every day," Hall said. "But learning this offense has been kind of different to what I did in college. There are a lot more nuances and a lot of little things that I am still learning."
ANALYSIS
Hall, who the Jets took in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, logged 253 carries in 12 games during his final college season, but as he embarks on his pro career, the 6-foot-1, 220-pounder will have to contend for RB touches with Carter, and Coleman to a lesser degree. It's worth noting that Carter was among the key players rested by the Jets in Monday's preseason game against the Falcons, a contest in which Hall started and logged four carries for one yard. Hall nonetheless brings plenty of upside to the table, which is reflected by his lofty average draft position this summer, but he'll have to earn his standing in the Jets backfield out of the gate this season. So far, though, he's impressed coach Robert Saleh, who said that Hall "has unbelievable and incredible confidence" and "tracks the ball very well. It is very easy for him to find the ball in space. He has body control like a receiver. So, he is an asset in the offense, but so is Michael and so is Tevin."

Bottled up as starter
Hall carried the ball four times for one yard in Monday's preseason win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Michael Carter (rest) didn't take the field, so Hall dominated playing time during the Jets' first two offensive possessions. He tallied all four of his carries in that span and found little room to run. It's unclear whether the team's choice to rest Carter and play Hall is an indication of their respective statuses on the depth chart, or if it was done to get Hall more work heading into his first NFL season.

Joins New York's backfield
The Jets selected Hall in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 36th overall.
ANALYSIS
Hall is the first running back off the board and projects to take over as the Jets' starting running back in short order, even with impressive 2021 fourth-round pick Michael Carter already an important part of the Jets offense. At 5-foot-11, 217 pounds with a 4.39-second 40 at the combine, the former Iowa State star has a workhorse frame with big-play athleticism. The Jets should have upwards of 65 snaps per game to distribute among their running backs, and a split like 40-25 or 35-30 should be the eventual outcome between Hall and Carter. Hall was a dominant producer at Iowa State, including as a pass catcher, finishing his Cyclone career with 3,941 yards (5.5 YPC) and 50 touchdowns rushing while adding 82 receptions for 734 yards and six touchdowns in 36 career games.
