The move to restructure Schultz's 2025 pay from base salary into a signing bonus lowers the Texans' salary cap for this season, and the veteran tight end is still slated to make the $11 million he's owed in 2026. The rumor mill has swirled around the Cowboys' receiving corps in recent days, with Amari Cooper potentially getting cut and Michael Gallup's (knee) reps negotiating an extension for the four-year pro. As a 2018 fourth-round pick, Schultz himself is due a new contract, but the team is considering placing the franchise tag on him to give more time to work out a new deal. If those talks fall through, though, he would be due $10.9 million under the tag in 2022. Schultz is coming off back-to-back productive seasons in which he reeled in 141 of 193 passes for 1,423 yards and 12 touchdowns in 33 contests.

Schultz caught seven of eight targets for 89 yards in Sunday's 23-17 loss to the 49ers in the wild-card round.

The tight end was once again Dak Prescott's most reliable option, leading the Cowboys in catches and yards as their season came to a disappointing finish. Schultz proves his 2020 performance was no fluke, setting career highs across the board by hauling in 78 passes on 104 targets for 808 yards and eight touchdowns across 17 regular-season games. He'll head into the offseason an unrestricted free agent, and Schultz has set himself up for a big payday, either from Dallas or from another club.

Schultz caught all three of his targets for 21 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 51-26 win over the Eagles.

Schultz made quite the impact with his few catches, scoring both of his touchdowns in the final two minutes of the first half. The tight end's initial end-zone trip came from two yards, then Schultz revisited pay dirt from nine yards just five seconds before halftime. In doing so, Schultz brought his final touchdown tally this season to eight, doubling his prior career high set last year. The veteran will now turn his focus to Dallas' playoff game next weekend, with his opponent currently undetermined.

Schultz caught six of 10 targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 25-22 loss to the Cardinals.

He led the Cowboys in targets and receiving yards while tying Cedrick Wilson in receptions. The tight end has an impressive 22-203-2 line on 27 targets over the last three games, but as Dallas will have little on the line in Week 18 against Philadelphia, the team's starters -- including Schultz -- could get some extra rest ahead of the playoffs.

Schultz caught eight of nine targets for 82 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 56-14 win over Washington.

Schultz kept things rolling with his second touchdown in as many weeks. The 23-year-old has combined for 16 receptions and 149 yards to go along with those two scores after hitting a bit of a midseason slump. The speedy tight end will look to keep things rolling in an important matchup against the Cardinals next Sunday.

Schultz brought in all eight targets for 67 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys' 21-6 win over the Giants on Sunday.

Schultz led the way for the Cowboys' pass-catching corps in receptions and receiving yards while falling just a target short of CeeDee Lamb's team-leading nine. The fourth-year pro's catch total was also a season high, and the entire performance represented a particularly timely resurgence after Schultz had delivered a season-worst 1-4-0 line against Washington in Week 14. Now seemingly back on track, the sure-handed tight end's next opportunity to deliver for managers in the fantasy postseason comes in a Week 16 home matchup against Washington.

It was something of an odd day for the Dallas offense, as Dak Prescott struggled to move the ball consistently even with the defense giving him some short fields, and Schultz's lack of production reflected that erratic performance. The tight end's numbers have declined since Michael Gallup returned to the lineup, and with CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper also healthy, there may not be a lot of looks left over for Schultz.

Schultz caught all five of his targets for 43 yards in Thursday's 27-17 win over the Saints.

The tight end continues to deliver solid, if unspectacular, numbers. Schultz hasn't reached 60 receiving yards since Week 6, but he's seen at least five targets in five of the last six games and posted a 21-221-1 line over that stretch on the steady volume. He'll look to make an impact in Week 14 against Washington.

Schultz caught three of seven targets for 46 yards and a touchdown, while also catching a two-point conversion, in a 36-33 overtime loss to the Raiders on Thanksgiving.

While it wasn't an efficient effort, Schultz salvaged his day with a 32-yard TD catch from Dak Prescott down the seam in the fourth quarter, with Prescott going right back to Schultz for a two-point conversion that tied the score at 30-30 with less than three minutes left on the clock. The touchdown was the fourth of the season for the fourth-year tight end, tying his career high from last year, but Schultz will likely remain a volatile fantasy option in Week 13 against the Saints.

Schultz caught six of eight targets for 53 yards in Sunday's 19-9 loss to Kansas City.

While Michael Gallup led the Cowboys with 10 targets, Schultz was Dak Prescott's most reliable option and tied for the team lead in catches while leading in receiving yards. The six grabs also tied his season high, and with Amari Cooper (COVID-19) already ruled out for a Thanksgiving Day game against the Raiders and CeeDee Lamb (concussion) potentially unavailable as well, the tight end could be in line for big volume.

Schultz caught one of two targets for 14 yards in Sunday's win over the Falcons.

Dak Prescott attempted 31 passes on the afternoon (with four more coming from Ezekiel Elliott on a trick play and then Cooper Rush on the final couple drives of a blowout win), but Schultz was an afterthought in the offense as he tied for his season low in targets. It's not yet clear whether his reduction in volume was due to this particular matchup, or Michael Gallup's return to action, or a bit of both, but Schultz suddenly seems a lot riskier heading into a Week 11 clash with Kansas City.

Schultz recorded four receptions on five targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 30-16 loss to the Broncos.

Schultz led the team in receiving yards, though that is more of an indication of the Cowboys' lack of offensive production than a tremendous performance on his part. He compiled the majority of his production with receptions of 20 and 17 yards, marking his fourth game this season in which has recorded a catch of 20 or more yards. Schultz has seen a consistent role in the office this season, and that should only be solidified while Blake Jarwin (hip) remains sidelined.

Schultz caught two of seven targets for 11 yards in Sunday's win over the Vikings.

While the Cowboys' passing game as a whole has plenty of success with Cooper Rush at the reins in place of Dak Prescott (calf), Schultz was not on the same page as the No. 2 QB and put together his worst performance of the season. Prescott is expected back in Week 9 against the Broncos, however, which could allow the tight end to bounce back to the level that saw him to post a 23-296-3 line on 29 targets over his prior four games.

Schultz caught five of six targets for 79 yards in Sunday's 35-29 overtime win over the Patriots.

The tight end continues to show a great rapport with Dak Prescott, hauling in at least five passes in five of six games so far this season, but Schultz missed out on his fourth TD of the year when Blake Jarwin caught a one-yard score instead. Schultz will head into the Cowboys' Week 7 bye with 31 receptions on 37 targets for 359 yards and three touchdowns.

Schultz recorded six receptions on eight targets for 58 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 4 win over the Panthers.

Schultz nearly replicated his Week 3 performance, when he led the Cowboys in all receiving categories. In Week 4, he led the team in targets and receptions, but was out-gained by Amari Cooper. He had a few highlight plays, which included an 18-yard reception -- his longest of the day -- and and a six-yard touchdown. With the performance, Schultz now has at least seven targets in three of four games on the season.

Schultz caught six of seven targets for 80 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 41-21 win over the Eagles.

Schultz led the Cowboys in all major receiving categories, scoring a couple of times along the way. The tight end's first touchdown came on a wide-open 19-yarder in the first quarter, then Schultz showed niftiness running after the catch on his 22-yard score in the fourth. Through three games, the veteran has now hauled in 14 of 15 throws his way, representing a rather dependable option for quarterback Dak Prescott, but the presence of so many playmakers within Dallas' offense somewhat limits Schultz' weekly upside.

Schultz caught both his targets for 18 yards in Sunday's win over the Chargers.

Blake Jarwin caught one more pass than Schultz and gained more real estate with his grabs, but neither tight end was particularly productive. It will likely take an injury to one of them to make the other a viable fantasy option on a weekly basis.

Schultz secured all six of his targets for 45 yards in the Cowboys' 31-29 loss to the Buccaneers on Thursday night.

The sure-handed tight end turned in an efficient performance that saw him slot in third in receptions and receiving yards on the Cowboys behind the prolific wideout duo of Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb. Position mate Blake Jarwin was active and turned in three grabs of his own in his first regular-season action since tearing his ACL against the Rams in the 2020 season opener, but if Thursday is any indication, Schultz will still retain a solid role in an offense that could tilt toward the pass in quite a few games.

Schultz caught his only target for nine yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Texans.

Both Schultz and Blake Jarwin saw snaps with the first-team offense, but it was Jarwin who made the bigger impact as he caught a 25-yard pass to set up the Cowboys' first TD of the night. It could be tough for either tight end to make a consistent fantasy impact as long as both are healthy, but Schultz is more likely to be the secondary receiving option of the duo.

Schultz (ankle) didn't attend Friday's preseason game against the Cardinals but is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

This could affect his competition with Blake Jarwin, who finished with no catches on one target Friday in his first game appearance since suffering an ACL tear last September. Schultz filled in capably with 63 receptions, playing 84.8 percent of snaps in an offense that attempted 639 passes. A similar workload is unlikely if Jarwin stays healthy, but that doesn't automatically mean Schultz will hand over the starting job. It sounds like he'll be back for Week 1 even if he misses the rest of training camp and the preseason. Schultz injured his ankle Wednesday at practice.

Schultz was diagnosed with an ankle sprain after exiting Wednesday's practice, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

There's no timeline for Schultz's return to the field, but it isn't believed to be a serious sprain.. The 25-year-old seems unlikely to be available for Friday's preseason opener in Arizona, even if the injury is a minor concern. Schultz broke out in 2020 with 63 receptions for 615 yards and four touchdowns after Blake Jarwin went down in Week 1 with a torn ACL. The pair should continue to compete for the starting role at tight end, assuming Schultz's ankle issue doesn't impact his availability for the start of the season.

Aided by Blake Jarwin's Week 1 ACL tear, Schultz broke out last season to the tune of 63 catches (on 89 targets) for 615 yards and four touchdowns. And the output came without Dak Prescott (shoulder) for most of it due to his ugly ankle injury. Only now, Schultz has picked up his own health concern, which isn't believed to be serious, per Slater. With the Cowboys' next preseason contest Friday in Arizona, it wouldn't surprise if the team is cautious and keeps Schultz on the sideline until he's back to 100 percent.

The split in reps between the two is likely to change as Jarwin gets fully up to speed, but for his part Schultz is having a good camp and isn't going to give up the top spot on the depth chart easily. The numbers suggest Jarwin is the better receiver of the two, but that doesn't mean he'll see more targets during the season.

Schultz caught multiple passes in 14 of his 15 starts, finishing the year with a 63-615-4 line on 89 targets after managing only 13 grabs through his first 27 NFL games. Jarwin is expected to be fully recovered in time for training camp next season, but Schultz played well enough in his absence to earn a substantial role in 2021, even if he isn't the clear-cut starter.

Andy Dalton was primarily focused on attacking a vulnerable Philly secondary with his trio of excellent wide receivers (Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb), leaving little production left over for Schultz. The third-year tight end has caught multiple passes in 10 straight games, giving him a decent floor in deep PPR leagues, but he hasn't topped 53 receiving yards and has only two TDs during that stretch.

Schultz caught both his targets for 14 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the 49ers.

He was on the end on a 12-yard toss from Andy Dalton in the third quarter, giving the tight end his first TD since Week 11 and fourth of the season. Schultz has seen only 11 targets over the last four games, giving him limited fantasy appeal heading into Week 16's clash with the Eagles.

Schultz caught all three of his targets for 34 yards in Sunday's win over the Bengals.

The Cowboys' passing game didn't need to do much after three early Cincy fumbles led to 17 first-half points for Dallas, limiting Schultz's production. The tight end hasn't reached 50 receiving yards in five straight games heading into a Week 15 clash with the 49ers.

Schultz caught all four of his targets for 44 yards in Tuesday's loss to the Ravens.

The tight end was one of five Dallas players to reach 40 receiving yards, as Andy Dalton spread the ball around while trying to mount an ultimately futile comeback in the second half. Schultz has seen at least four targets in seven straight games, but he has only one TD and hasn't topped 53 receiving yards during that stretch, giving him very limited fantasy appeal in most formats.

With Andy Dalton under consistent pressure from Chase Young and the Washington pass rush, Schultz was utilized as little more than a bail-out option by the veteran quarterback, with his longest reception going for only seven yards. The tight end has still caught at least four passes in four straight games, giving him a steady floor in PPR formats heading into Week 13's road clash with the Ravens.

The tight end continues to see fairly steady target volume no matter who is under center for the Cowboys, but with Andy Dalton back at the helm, Schultz was able to score his first TD since Week 4. He'll look to build on his red-zone chemistry with Dalton in a Thanksgiving Day clash with Washington.

Schultz caught four of seven targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Steelers.

Schultz hasn't been bothered by the quarterback turnover through the past two weeks, as he produced 10 receptions for 101 yards on 15 receptions while playing at least 95 percent of the snaps in each game. The third-year tight end now has a 35-383-2 line through nine games. The Cowboys may get Andy Dalton (concussion) back following the Week 10 bye.

Schultz's production has been trending down since Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending ankle injury Week 5, but the tight end benefited from third-string quarterback Ben DiNucci drawing the start in place of the concussed Andy Dalton. The Eagles' fierce pass rush coupled with a banged-up offensive line effectively eliminated the Cowboys' downfield passing game, forcing DiNucci to rely on Schultz as a safety valve underneath. Schultz was able to turn his high target count into decent production Sunday, but his overall fantasy upside will be capped now that the Dallas offense is no longer the up-tempo, high-scoring unit it was earlier this season when Prescott was under center.

The tight end's four targets ranked third on the Cowboys for the day, and he was the only other Dallas player to catch multiple passes aside from Amari Cooper. The outlook for the entire offense is bleak due to multiple injuries along the offensive line, but with rookie Ben DiNucci potentially being forced into action in Week 8 in place of Andy Dalton (concussion), Schultz could still see decent target volume as a security blanket for the young QB in his first NFL start.

Schultz corralled four of his five targets for 35 receiving yards during Monday's 38-10 loss to the Cardinals.

On what was a sluggish offensive night that saw the Cowboys generate only 10 total points, Andy Dalton was capable of putting up junk-time production, distributing 34 completions, 266 passing yards and a touchdown to his array of talented targets. Schultz was the team's third-leading receiver, also tying his second-highest catch total of the season during the blowout loss. He had an off game with just one catch and six yards against the Giants last Sunday, but otherwise he has scored two touchdowns while averaging 60.5 receiving yards per game since Week 2.

The tight end didn't see much involvement in the passing game, as Dallas' wide receivers accounted for 25 of the 32 targets thrown by Dak Prescott (ankle) and Andy Dalton. With Prescott lost for the year and the offense potentially forced to be a little more conservative as a result, however, Schultz's role could become more consistent if he can establish some chemistry with Dalton.

Schultz (thigh) wasn't listed on the Cowboys' injury report Wednesday.

Near the conclusion of this past Sunday's loss to the Browns, Schultz took a helmet to his thigh, but the issue hasn't hurt his ability to take part in practice three days later. With Blake Jarwin (knee) on injured reserve, Schultz will be Dallas' No. 1 TE, which has translated to 18 receptions (on 28 targets) for 219 yards and two touchdowns.

Schultz (thigh) is expected to play Sunday against the Giants, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

The tight end took a helmet to the thigh late in Sunday's loss to the Browns but the team is optimistic that he won't miss time. His level of participation in practice as the week progresses will give a clearer picture of his status heading into Sunday. If Schultz is limited, Blake Bell and Sean McKeon would see additional reps.

Schultz caught four of eight targets for 72 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Browns.

With Dak Prescott forced to air it out every week to try and compensate for the Cowboys' atrocious defense, Schultz is getting plenty of chances to make an impact, hauling in 17 catches on 24 targets for 208 yards and two TDs over that last three weeks. His production isn't likely to be consistent on a week-to-week basis given all the other options at Prescott's disposal, but the tight end end is still headed for a breakout season.

Schultz caught four of six targets for 48 yards in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks.

The tight end wasn't able to follow up his impressive Week 2 with a similar performance, but Schultz still received a healthy number of targets, although it should be noted Dak Prescott attempted 57 passes overall in a 38-31 loss. Schultz could be headed for a productive day in Week 4 against a Browns defense that's already given up 22 catches and three TDs to tight ends through three weeks.

Schultz corralled nine of 10 targets for 88 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 40-39 win against the Falcons.

Fantasy GMs in leagues large and small will be rushing to the waiver wire to add the 24-year-old tight end, as he may have secured a key role within Dallas' high-octane passing attack as result of Blake Jarwin's torn ACL. Schultz attracted just 19 combined targets across his first 27 NFL appearances between 2018 and 2019, but he has already garnered 14 in the early going of the new campaign. The slate toughens up somewhat in Week 3, as the Cowboys take on a Seahawks defense that permitted just three catches and 38 receiving yards to the tight end position in its season opener.

Dak Prescott looked his way more often after Blake Jarwin hurt his knee in the first half, but the extra targets didn't result in much production for Schultz. With Jarwin feared lost for the season due to a torn ACL, Schultz could step into a much more significant role in the offense as the Cowboys' primary receiving TE with Blake Bell mainly handling blocking assignments.
