Catchless again Week 12
Bellinger did not catch either of his two targets in Sunday's loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger saw a relatively large 62 percent offensive snap share, but he finished without a reception for the second straight week. Meanwhile, top TE Theo Johnson finished second on the team with 77 receiving yards on three catches and has now reached the 75-yard mark in two of his past three games. With Johnson building momentum, it seems likely that Bellinger will continue to have a minimal role in the passing attack moving forward.
Nov 17, 2025
Quiet in loss Sunday
Bellinger didn't catch his only target in a Week 11 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The Giants had a different look on offense Sunday with Mike Kafka taking over on an interim basis for former head coach Brian Daboll and with Jameis Winston stepping in at quarterback for the injured Jaxson Dart (concussion). Bellinger also dealt with a groin injury during the week, which may have also impacted his output Sunday. Ultimately, the fourth-year tight end finished without a catch for the third time through 10 contests on the campaign while logging a 47 percent offensive snap share. Theo Johnson remains the clear No. 1 tight end for the Giants, so Bellinger isn't a viable fantasy asset even when Dart is healthy.
Nov 14, 2025
Cleared to face Packers
Bellinger (groin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger practiced without limitations Friday after being limited Wednesday and Thursday. He's expected to occupy his usual role, focusing primarily on blocking while Theo Johnson runs more routes for a Giants offense that's switching to Jameis Winston under center.
Nov 13, 2025
Limited again Thursday
Bellinger (groin) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger has logged back-to-back limited practice sessions to kick off Week 11 prep, so unless he's able to upgrade to full reps Friday, he'll be at risk of carrying an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Packers. If Bellinger isn't able to suit up versus Green Bay, Theo Johnson will figure to benefit from a slight increase in target share as Jameis Winston makes his first start at quarterback for New York.
Nov 12, 2025
Limited by groin issue
Bellinger (groin) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger has been targeted in seven of nine appearances this season en route to a modest 12-202-1 line on 14 targets. He missed Week 9 due to a neck injury and now is tending to a new health concern. Bellinger's status thus is one to monitor as the week proceeds to get a sense of his potential to play Sunday against the Packers.
Nov 10, 2025
Makes one catch in Week 10 loss
Bellinger caught one of two targets for eight yards in a loss to the Bears on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
With New York's wideout corps behind Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton struggling to produce, the Giants went tight-end heavy throughout much of Sunday's matchup. Top TE Theo Johnson was on the field for all but two of New York's offensive snaps, while Bellinger logged a hearty 73 percent snap share. However, whereas Johnson shined with seven catches on eight targets for 75 yards, Bellinger was largely ignored as a pass catcher, recording just one reception for eight yards. Johnson has drawn at least four targets in seven straight contests while Bellinger has reached that target share just twice during that same span, so there's no debate about which of the pair is the preferred option in the Giants' passing game (and in fantasy).
Nov 5, 2025
Full practice Wednesday
Bellinger (neck) practiced fully Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger dealt with a neck injury during Week 8 prep, and while he was cleared to face the Eagles that week, he left that game due to a neck concern. He proceeded to miss every practice last week before being inactive this past Sunday against the 49ers. Now with a full session under his belt, Bellinger appears on pace to return to action Sunday at Chicago.
Nov 2, 2025
Inactive in Week 9
Bellinger (neck) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the 49ers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger injured his neck last Sunday at Philadelphia, and he then didn't practice all week before the Giants listed him as doubtful to suit up Week 9. Now that Bellinger officially isn't playing, Theo Johnson should dominate TE reps for New York, but Chris Manhertz and Thomas Fidone also will be available for snaps and the occasional target. Bellinger's next chance for game action is next Sunday's contest in Chicago.
Oct 31, 2025
Doubtful for Week 9
Bellinger (neck) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger suffered the neck injury in last Sunday's loss to the Eagles. With Bellinger unlikely to face San Francisco, Chris Manhertz should handle most of the blocking duties alongside Theo Johnson at tight end.
Oct 30, 2025
Missing another practice
Bellinger (neck) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With a pair of absences from practice to begin game Week 9 prep, Bellinger looks to be in danger of missing Sunday's against the 49ers. If Bellinger is unable to play this weekend, Chris Manhertz (illness) and Thomas Fidone would be the available depth options at tight end behind Theo Johnson, who played a season-high 98 percent of the offensive snaps in the Giants' Week 8 loss to the Eagles.
Oct 29, 2025
Unable to practice
Giants coach Brian Daboll said Bellinger (neck) will not practice Wednesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger will not practice due to a neck injury sustained during New York's loss to Philadelphia in Week 8. If Bellinger's injury forces him to sit out versus the 49ers on Sunday, No. 1 tight end Theo Johnson will figure to take on an increased workload. With rookie running back Cam Skattebo (ankle) and top wideout Malik Nabers (knee - ACL) both out for the year, the Giants' tight ends corps could become a larger factor on offense going forward.
Oct 26, 2025
Sustains neck injury
Bellinger suffered a neck injury during Sunday's contest in Philadelphia, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger combined for seven catches (on 10 targets) for 140 yards and one touchdown in New York's three games prior to Sunday, and he exited Week 8 action having hauled in his only target for 21 yards. As long as Bellinger is sidelined, Theo Johnson will take on a larger role among Giants tight ends.
Oct 24, 2025
Cleared to face Eagles
Bellinger (neck) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger has the green light to suit up for Week 8. The backup tight end is coming off his best performance of the season in Week 7 against the Broncos, when Bellinger secured three of four targets for 88 yards and a touchdown. He has 85 receiving yards across six other appearances this season.
Oct 23, 2025
Stays limited Thursday
Bellinger (neck) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger has been limited in both of the Giants' first two Week 8 practices, so he may need to upgrade to full participation in Friday's session to avoid taking a questionable tag into this Sunday's game in Philadelphia. Though Bellinger has played second fiddle to Theo Johnson throughout the season, the Giants' depleted receiver depth has prompted head coach Brian Daboll to deploy two-tight-end sets more frequently in recent weeks. Bellinger has played more than half of the Giants' offensive snaps in three straight games, recording seven catches for 140 yards and a touchdown on eight targets during that stretch.
Oct 22, 2025
Dealing with neck injury
Bellinger (neck) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It's a new injury for Bellinger, who caught three passes for 88 yards and a TD in Sunday's 33-32 loss to the Broncos. His role as the No. 2 tight end expanded in recent weeks, but Bellinger could lose playing time once WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) is available.
Oct 20, 2025
Best game of season Sunday
Bellinger had three receptions on four targets for 88 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-32 loss to the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger finished second in receiving for the Giants a week after garnering zero targets against the Eagles. It was the veteran backup's best receiving line of the season by far, and his first trip to the end zone since 2022. Theo Johnson (3-66-1) also produced a fantasy-worthy line, and the latter is also the preferred option in fantasy based on predictability. The Giants will take on the Eagles for the second time this season next Sunday, the same team that held Bellinger to zero catches in Week 6.
Oct 10, 2025
Can't build upon season-best effort
Bellinger didn't get any targets in Thursday's 34-17 Week 6 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
In a Week 5 loss to New Orleans, Bellinger broke out with a season-high and team-leading 52 receiving yards on four catches. That led to an expectation that he would be significantly involved on offense in Week 6 with New York depleted at the wideout position, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com, but things didn't shake out that way. While Bellinger did log a healthy 57 percent snap share, he never had a pass thrown his way during a game in which New York leaned heavily on its ground game. Meanwhile, No. 1 tight end Theo Johnson caught two of four targets for 27 yards and logged a 90 percent snap share. Though Bellinger has caught every one of his targets so far this season, that's resulted in a very modest 7-85-0 receiving line through six contests.
Oct 5, 2025
Leads Big Blue in receiving yards
Bellinger caught all four of his targets for 52 yards in Sunday's 26-14 loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
The 52 receiving yards not only led the Giants on the afternoon, they were a season high for Bellinger, who caught multiple passes in a game for the first time in 2025. The elevated usage came in the wake of Malik Nabers (knee) being lost for the season, as rookie QB Jaxson Dart wasn't able to stretch the field at all -- Bellinger's 18-yard grab in the first quarter was New York's longest completion. Theo Johnson also saw more volume than usual and was on the other end of both of Dart's TD passes and is the top option for the team at tight end, but Bellinger could see enough targets to have some deep-league utility during a Week 6 clash with the Eagles.
Sep 29, 2025
Logs another one-catch effort
Bellinger caught his only target for 13 yards Sunday in a 21-18 win over the Chargers in Week 4.
ANALYSIS
There wasn't much of a change production-wise for Bellinger with Jaxson Dart making his first start at quarterback for the Giants, as the fourth-year TE saw exactly one target -- and made the catch -- for the third time through four weeks this season. Bellinger (24 offensive snaps) remained well behind Theo Johnson (53 offensive snaps) in the TE pecking order, and that doesn't figure to change after Johnson hauled in Dart's only TD pass Sunday. Bellinger is unlikely to have much fantasy value as long as he remains the second TE option in what has been a mostly tepid New York offense to this point.
Sep 22, 2025
Catches lone target Sunday
Bellinger caught his only target for six yards Sunday in a Week 3 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger was again clearly behind Theo Johnson in the tight-end pecking order, logging 16 offensive snaps to Johnson's 57. Chris Manhertz also got 13 snaps on offense, so Bellinger seems to be stuck in a relatively minor role on a game-to-game basis. He has just two catches for 20 yards through three weeks, taking him off the fantasy radar almost entirely.
Sep 15, 2025
Gets zero targets Week 2
Bellinger did not receive any passing targets Sunday in an overtime defeat against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger now has just one target over the first two weeks of the season. He actually played more snaps on special teams (20) than on offense (19) against the Cowboys, while starting tight end Theo Johnson logged a healthy 84 percent offensive snap share and gathered four receptions on five targets for 34 yards. Johnson has solidified his role as the Giants' top TE early in the campaign, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect Bellinger to have much value barring an injury that propels him up the pecking order.
Sep 8, 2025
Collects only target Week 1
Bellinger secured his only target for 14 yards in a Week 1 loss against the Commanders on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger got New York down to Washington's three-yard line on a 14-yard connection with Russell Wilson in the fourth quarter, but the Giants were unable to emerge with a score. Theo Johnson dominated tight-end snaps for New York in Week 1 with 53, while Chris Manhertz logged 18 and Bellinger recorded 15. Despite Bellinger outdoing Johnson in receiving yardage in the loss, the latter figures to be the leader among New York's receiving corps as long as he remains healthy.
Aug 19, 2025
Back at practice
Bellinger (undisclosed) returned to practice Tuesday, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger missed the Giants' second exhibition this past weekend, but his injury evidently wasn't serious. Bellinger is competing with blocker Chris Manhertz and catch-first TE Greg Dulcich for a role behind starter Theo Johnson.
Aug 17, 2025
Doesn't suit up Saturday
Bellinger (undisclosed) didn't play in Saturday's preseason win against the Jets, and Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports that the tight end is dealing with an injury.
ANALYSIS
The nature of the issue that kept Bellinger sidelined is unclear, and it may not be serious given that he was able to run on a side field during the practice week, according to Duggan. With Theo Johnson locked in as New York's starting TE for the coming campaign, Bellinger doesn't have much appeal as a fantasy asset, though he could be a helpful component of the Giants offense for his work as a blocker. However, he may have competition for that role with Chris Manhertz (undisclosed), and New York also has Greg Dulcich among its tight-end corps.
Jan 6, 2025
Catches two passes in Week 18
Bellinger reeled in both of his targets for nine yards Sunday in a 20-13 loss to Philadelphia. He finished the regular season with 14 receptions on 17 targets for 125 yards and no touchdowns.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger ended the campaign in quiet fashion, recording less than 10 receiving yards in each of his final three games. The third-year pro looked as though he could take over the role as New York's No. 1 tight end after Darren Waller's offseason retirement, but that spot atop the pecking order was ultimately claimed by rookie fourth-round pick Theo Johnson until he landed on IR with a foot injury in early December. Bellinger did step in as the starter after Johnson's injury and posted eight catches for 80 yards in his first two games thereafter before the three-game fade. The organization seems to be high on Johnson, who was fairly productive after gaining his footing in the league, so Bellinger figures to revert back to the No. 2 role next season in what will be the final year of his rookie contract.
Dec 23, 2024
Quiet in Week 16 loss
Bellinger caught one of two targets for five yards in Sunday's 34-7 defeat against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Giants quarterback Drew Lock took to the air 39 times in the loss, but 26 of those targets went to either Malik Nabers (14) or Wan'Dale Robinson (12). That left little opportunity for the rest of New York's pass catchers, and Bellinger finished with his fewest receptions, targets and receiving yards since taking over as the team's starter in place of the injured Theo Johnson (foot) in Week 14. The Giants have been playing from behind most games throughout the season, which often leads to pass-happy game scripts, but that doesn't guarantee substantial targets for Bellinger given the team's determination to get its wideouts -- especially Nabers -- the ball.
Dec 16, 2024
Nabs all three targets Week 15
Bellinger caught all three of his targets for 35 yards Sunday in a 35-14 loss to Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger's target and reception counts tied for third-most on the team, and he ranked third in receiving yards behind Malik Nabers (82) and Wan'Dale Robinson (38). With Theo Johnson (foot) out for the season, Bellinger has moved into a starting role and has eight catches for 80 yards over his past two contests. New York's quarterback situation is messy with Drew Lock (heel/elbow) missing Sunday's game and Tommy DeVito leaving late in the second quarter due to a concussion, as journeyman Tim Boyle was left to lead the offense in the second half. The injuries and overall poor play at the QB position could actually play somewhat into a positive situation for Bellinger, though, as he's been used mostly as a security blanket in the short areas of the field.
Dec 8, 2024
Solid numbers as starter
Bellinger caught five of seven targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 14-11 loss to the Saints,
ANALYSIS
With rookie Theo Johnson (foot) lost for the season, Bellinger stepped back into the starting TE role and put together his best performance of the season, although it was a low bar to clear -- he's seen only three targets total heading into Sunday's game. Bellinger will look to stay productive in Week 15 against the Ravens.
Sep 23, 2024
Nabs one catch in Week 3 victory
Bellinger caught his only target for 17 yards against Cleveland in Sunday's 21-15 win.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger's lone target and reception went for 17 yards early in the third quarter. While he did log a season-high 26 offensive snaps, that number was well behind the 58 offensive snaps accumulated by No. 1 tight end Theo Johnson. Overall, Bellinger has just two catches (both of which he has caught for 20 total yards) through three weeks, making him a non-factor in fantasy.
Sep 9, 2024
Clear backup in Week 1
Bellinger caught his only target for three yards in Sunday's loss to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger was listed as New York's No. 1 tight end on the team's first unofficial depth chart during the preseason and split first-team reps with rookie Theo Johnson throughout training camp, but he was clearly behind Johnson in the pecking order Sunday. While Bellinger logged just 16 offensive snaps (23 percent of the team's total), Johnson tallied 61 (86 percent), and even Chris Manhertz (20 offensive snaps) was on the field more often than Bellinger. Manhertz played primarily in two-TE sets and does most of his work as a blocker, so he's not a threat to Bellinger's playing time, but for the time being it appears that the Giants prefer Johnson as the starter over Bellinger at the position.
Aug 8, 2024
One catch in preseason opener
Bellinger caught one of two targets for seven yards in Thursday's 14-3 preseason win over the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger wasn't heavily involved but neither was rookie fourth-round pick Theo Johnson, who wasn't targeted Thursday. Tyree Jackson was the Giants' most productive tight end Thursday with two catches for 34 yards, but Bellinger and Johnson have been splitting first-team reps in practice and remain on track to lead the position come the regular season. New York's next preseason game will be in Houston next Saturday.
Aug 6, 2024
Listed first on initial depth chart
Bellinger is listed as the No. 1 tight end on the Giants' first unofficial depth chart, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With Darren Waller deciding to retire in the offseason, New York's starting tight-end role is up for grabs. It makes sense for Bellinger to work in that capacity given that he was the starter during his rookie campaign before Waller was brought into the fold, but -- despite drawing positive reviews from the team's coaching staff -- he was only modestly productive with 30 receptions for 268 yards and two touchdowns over 12 regular-season games. The Giants drafted Theo Johnson in the fourth round of Aprils' NFL Draft with Waller's then-potential retirement in mind, and he's worked with the first-team offense at times during training camp, so he appears to be the biggest threat to Bellinger attaining the starting role. However, on the the team's initial depth chart, Johnson is listed as fourth at tight end behind Bellinger, Lawrence Cager and Chris Manhertz.
Jul 25, 2024
Fine for start of camp
Bellinger (undisclosed) has been cleared to practice at the start of Giants training camp this week, Dan Salomone of the team's official website reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger missed some work during the spring with an undisclosed injury, but he's ready to roll for the start of training camp. Following the retirement of Darren Waller earlier this summer, Bellinger is penciled in atop the depth chart at tight end for the G-Men. Bellinger has 55 catches for 523 yards and two touchdowns through two NFL seasons and is unlikely to factor into the TE1 fantasy discussion after going scoreless on 25 grabs last year. Rookie Theo Johnson (hip, PUP) will also be in the mix at the positing for New York.
Jun 12, 2024
Dealing with minor injury
Bellinger has been limited during spring practices due to an undisclosed injury, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It's the second time the tight end has been in the news this week, after Darren Waller's retirement put Bellinger in good position for a starting job. The Giants also have rookie fourth-round pick Theo Johnson as a potential receiving threat at the position, but Bellinger figures to handle most of the first-team reps at the start of training camp. Coach Brian Daboll downplayed the injury Wednesday, so he seemingly expects Bellinger to be ready for camp.
Jun 10, 2024
Competing with rookie to start
Bellinger and rookie Theo Johnson will compete to be the Giants' top tight end after Darren Waller decided to retire, NJ.com's Darryl Slater reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger and Johnson both are fourth-round picks with impressive physical specs and less impressive college production. Bellinger has a huge advantage in terms of NFL experience, having played 1,262 snaps on offense through two seasons, including 12 instances taking more than 80 percent of snaps in a game (mostly games that Waller missed). The problem is that Bellinger hasn't been much of a receiving threat even with 4.63 speed, catching 55 passes for 523 yards and two touchdowns while drawing just 63 targets on 512 routes (12.3 percent target rate). The sky-high catch rate (55 of 63, 87.3 percent) shows that Bellinger has held his own as a dump-off target, but he hasn't done much else, with 43 being his single-game high for yardage and just 36.4 percent of his career receptions going for first downs. Both Bellinger and Johnson are taller, heavier and faster than the average NFL tight end, but it isn't clear either has the pass-catching skill to make a dent in fantasy.
Jan 10, 2024
Posts modest production as No. 2 TE
Bellinger finished the regular season with 25 catches on 28 targets for 255 yards and no touchdowns over 17 contests.
ANALYSIS
From an overall-numbers standpoint, Bellinger's production was pretty much in line with his rookie campaign, when he posted 30 catches for 268 yards and a pair of scores. However, the tight end played in five more contests this season, and he took a step back on the depth chart after New York signed Darren Waller in the offseason. The Giants have expressed an affinity for Bellinger despite the Waller signing, but with the latter under contract through 2026, it's difficult to envision a scenario (aside from one involving injury) in which Bellinger's role on offense grows substantially in the near future. Bellinger has two years remaining on his rookie deal.
Dec 31, 2023
Posts decent numbers again Week 17
Bellinger finished Sunday's loss to the Rams with four catches on four targets for 39 yards.
ANALYSIS
Darren Waller logged more targets (six), catches (five) and yards (51) than Bellinger, but the latter still had a reasonably productive performance. Bellinger's longest catch went for 18 yards, and he also had a 14-yard reception that he immediately followed with a nine-yard catch on the following play. Waller has undoubtedly been the better fantasy asset when healthy this season, but Bellinger has come on strong even with Waller healthy over the past two weeks, putting up an 8-82-0 line on nine targets. The Giants have little to play for in their season finale against Philadelphia next weekend, so the team could opt to relax the veteran Waller's workload, which could benefit Bellinger to some extent against a defense that has been middle-of-the-pack against tight ends this season.
Dec 26, 2023
Outgains Waller in Week 16 loss
Bellinger finished Monday's loss to the Eagles with four catches on five targets for 43 yards.
ANALYSIS
Primary tight end Darren Waller was healthy for the contest, though he and Bellinger logged an equal number of offensive snaps (40). Bellinger was somewhat surprisingly the more productive pass catcher, finishing second on New York in both receptions (four) and receiving yards (43). The former total was a season high for Bellinger, while the latter tied a season-best mark. Though this was Bellinger's best game of the season, Waller remains the better option for fantasy purposes.
Dec 18, 2023
Nabs two catches as Waller's backup
Bellinger caught both of his targets or 13 yards in Sunday's 24-6 Week 15 loss to New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger worked as New York's starting tight end while Waller was on IR with a hamstring injury between Week 9 and Week 14, but he returned to a backup role with the latter returning Sunday. Bellinger averaged a modest 2.2 receptions for 27.6 yards during his five-game starting stint, and he wasn't far off those numbers while working behind Waller against the Saints. Waller appeared to come out of the contest in good health, so Bellinger should again see limited receiving opportunities next Monday against the Eagles.
Dec 12, 2023
Nabs two caches in Week 14 win
Bellinger caught both of his targets for 15 yards Monday in a 24-22 win against the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger saw modest opportunity in the contest, but he still finished third on the Giants in receiving yards. The second-year tight end continues to fill in for the injured Darren Waller (IR - hamstring), though Bellinger hasn't come close to matching Waller's pass-catching prowess, as he hasn't surpassed three receptions in any game so far this season. Waller ran routes on the field earlier this week, and if he is able to return to the action before the end of the campaign, Bellinger's opportunities as a receiver would logically shrink.
Dec 11, 2023
Suiting up Monday
Bellinger (illness) is active for Monday's contest against the Packers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Giants held Bellinger out of drills Friday and Saturday due to an illness and handed him a questionable designation for Week 14. In the lead up to Monday's game, the team didn't elevate a tight end from the practice squad, indicating that Bellinger was in line to be available. Indeed, that has come to pass, meaning he should be good for his typical workload (85-93 percent of the offensive snaps) from the previous five games with Darren Waller (hamstring) sidelined. So far, that has yielded a modest 9-123-0 line on 11 targets for Bellinger during that span.
Dec 9, 2023
Listed as questionable for Monday
Bellinger (illness) is listed as questionable for Monday's matchup against the Packers, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger has registered close to 90 percent of the team's offensive snaps dating back to Week 8, so if he's unable to go it would be a major strain on the team's tight end depth. Expect Lawrence Cager to receive the bulk of the opportunities if the 23-year-old is unable to play.
Dec 8, 2023
Misses practice with illness
Bellinger didn't practice Friday due to an illness, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Assuming the ailment isn't too significant, Bellinger could still return to the field Saturday for the Giants' final Week 14 practice, which would clear up any concern about his status heading into Monday's game against Green Bay. While Darren Waller (hamstring) has been sidelined for the Giants' last four games before the team's Week 13 bye, Bellinger had served as New York's top tight end and compiled a 9-123-0 receiving line on 10 targets. The Giants have yet to designate Waller for return from injured reserve as of Friday, so Bellinger will presumably be in store for another sizable snap count Monday if he can overcome the illness.
Nov 19, 2023
Posts 38 yards in Week 11 win
Bellinger caught all three of his targets for 38 yards Sunday in a 31-19 victory versus the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger finished third on the Giants in receiving yards, with his 26-yard reception early in the fourth quarter accounting for most of his total and helping to set up a Saquon Barkley receiving touchdown. Bellinger has stepped in as New York's top tight end over the past three weeks with Darren Waller (hamstring) on IR, and he's accounted fairly well for himself with an average of 2.7 catches for 38.3 yards over that span. Bellinger isn't going to set the fantasy world on fire, but he's at least established a decent floor as a fill-in for however long Waller remains out.
Nov 12, 2023
Leading receiver in blowout loss
Bellinger caught two of three targets for 34 yards in Sunday's 49-17 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
The tight end actually led the Giants in receiving yards on the day, as undrafted rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito managed only 86 passing yards. Bellinger also lost a chance to have a better fantasy day when No. 2 TE Lawrence Cager caught a 10-yard touchdown in the second half. Darren Waller (hamstring) won't be eligible to return from IR until after the team's Week 13 bye, but with DeVito under center, Bellinger doesn't figure to offer much production, even if he continues to start at tight end.
Nov 5, 2023
Maximizes low target count
Bellinger corralled all three of his targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 30-6 loss to Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger's three targets ranked fifth behind Saquon Barkley and the Giants' three starting receivers, but the tight end did more with less and finished second in yardage for New York on Sunday. Starting quarterback Daniel Jones (knee) went down early in this contest and had to be replaced by backup Tommy DeVito, who was already replacing Tyrod Taylor (ribs) who is currently on injured reserve. Bellinger had been backing up Darren Waller prior to the latter being placed on injured reserve Saturday, so fantasy managers in need of a serviceable tight end could take a look at the second-year backup while the Waller mends on IR. Bellinger projects to be the starter against the Dallas next Sunday.
Nov 3, 2023
Could see extended run as starter
Bellinger is lined up to work as the Giants' starting tight end for an extended period with Darren Waller (hamstring) expected to miss several weeks, per Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger worked almost exclusively as a starter as a rookie last season, but he's taken a back seat for the most part in 2023 with New York signing Waller in the offseason. However, Waller suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's loss to the Jets and has indicated that he's likely to miss multiple contests. That should push Bellinger into a more prominent role, though he shouldn't be expected to match Waller's success as a pass catcher. Daniel Jones (neck) is expected to return to action Sunday against Las Vegas after missing each of New York's past three games, which should boost the outlook of Bellinger and the team's entire pass-catching corps. Still, Bellinger averaged a modest 2.5 catches for 22.3 yards over 12 contests working with Jones as the team's top TE last year, so expectations for his production in Waller's stead should be tempered.

Goes without target Sunday
Bellinger went without a target while playing 39 of the Giants' 77 snaps on offense in Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Sunday's game marked just the second time all season that Bellinger failed to draw a target. Aside from the Giants' Week 4 loss to the Seahawks in which he exited early due to injury, Bellinger has played at least 35 percent of the team's snaps on offense in every contest. However, so long as top tight end Darren Waller is available, Bellinger is likely to operate mainly as a blocker when he takes the field.
Oct 8, 2023
Cleared to play Sunday
Bellinger (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger exited early in Monday's 24-3 loss to the Seahawks with the knee injury and was a limited practice participant throughout Week 5 prep, but he evidently made enough progress for the Giants to feel comfortable keeping him active Sunday. However, Dan Duggan of The Athletic suggests that Bellinger is likely well below 100 percent healthy, so the second-year player could be subject to a lower snap count than usual behind starting tight end Darren Waller. In his three healthy games this season, Bellinger has handled snap shares ranging between 40 and 68 percent, recording just two total receptions in those contests.
Oct 6, 2023
Questionable for Sunday
Bellinger (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Miami, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger is apparently in some danger of sitting out at least one full game as he recovers from the knee injury that forced him out of Monday's game versus Seattle. If he is sidelined, Lawrence Cager would be in line to play second fiddle to Darren Waller at tight end in Week 5.
Oct 5, 2023
Still limited by knee
Bellinger (knee) was a limited participant at practice Thursday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record, Bellinger began the day working off to the side with trainers but joined his fellow tight ends when the time came for position drills. That's a relatively encouraging sign, but he'll still likely need to practice in full Friday to avoid an injury designation going into the weekend.
Oct 4, 2023
Is able to practice
Bellinger (knee) logged a limited practice Wednesday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger suffered the injury in Monday's loss to the Seahawks and was unable to return to the game. His ability to get on the field Wednesday is a positive development for his chances of suiting up for Week 5 against the Dolphins, although he still should be considered questionable for the matchup.
Oct 2, 2023
Night comes to early end
Bellinger (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's contest with the Seahawks, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger will miss the rest of the game after he suffered a knee injury in the first quarter. More information on his status will likely be provided following the conclusion of Monday Night Football.
Oct 2, 2023
Exits with knee injury
Bellinger suffered a knee injury and is questionable to return to Monday's contest with the Seahawks, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger went down with a knee injury in the first quarter and his status is now uncertain for the remainder of the game. Lawrence Cager is the only tight end available behind starter Darren Waller for the time being.
Sep 30, 2023
Playing Monday
Bellinger (neck) has no injury designation ahead of Monday night's game against the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger went from limited participation during Thursday and Friday's practices to a full participant Saturday, and he no longer carries an injury designation going into Monday night's contest. The second-year tight end has seen only two targets through three weeks on a Giants team that's been struggling to score, playing on 54-percent of the team's offensive snaps.
Sep 30, 2023
Practices in full Saturday
Bellinger (neck) was a full participant in Saturday's practice, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger was a limited participant in Thursday's practice after popping up on the Giants' injury report, though when he sustained the neck injury is unclear. Participating in full in Saturday's practice indicates that Bellinger should be good to go for Monday's contest against the Seahawks. He has two catches for nine yards and has logged 141 snaps -- 99 on offense -- in three contests this season.
Sep 29, 2023
Gets questionable tag
Bellinger (neck) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Seahawks, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
It is unclear if Bellinger picked up the injury during the Giants' Week 3 loss to the 49ers or some other way, but he popped up on the injury report Thursday. Although he is behind Darren Waller on the depth chart, the second-year tight end has handled offensive snaps north of 60 percent through three weeks. Lawrence Cager would likely be in line to assume the No. 2 role if Bellinger is unable to go.
Sep 28, 2023
Tending to neck injury
Bellinger was a limited participant in Thursday's practice due to a neck injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The second-year tight end either sustained the neck injury at some point during Thursday's session or is still hurting after playing 43 total snaps (28 on offense, 15 on special teams) in the Giants' Week 3 loss to the 49ers. Though he's dropped to second on the depth chart at tight end behind offseason pickup Darren Waller in 2023, Bellinger has handled offensive snap shares north of 60 percent in two of the team's first three games. The Giants being on the wrong side of blowouts likely played a part in the elevated playing time, however, as he handled a more modest 40 percent share in a three-point win over the Cardinals in Week 2.
Sep 8, 2023
May have larger role Sunday
Bellinger could have an elevated role in the Giants offense Sunday against the Cowboys after Darren Waller (hamstring) was listed as questionable on the team's final Week 1 injury report Friday, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Waller didn't even make an appearance on the report until Friday, when he was limited at practice. A decision on his availability won't be made until approximately 90 minutes before Sunday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff, but if Waller is sidelined, Bellinger would be a decent enough option to pivot to with just two games to go on the Week 1 slate. Bellinger started 11 of the 12 games in which he played as a rookie last season, accruing a 30-268-2 line on 35 targets. Lawrence Cager (ankle) is the other tight end on the Giants' active roster.
Aug 27, 2023
Doesn't play in preseason finale
Bellinger sat out Saturday's exhibition loss to the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger played in the Giants' first two preseason games, nabbing his only target for a four-yard touchdown connection with Daniel Jones. With Darren Waller added to the team in the offseason, Bellinger is slated to work in a backup role after featuring as a starter during his rookie campaign last year. That likely takes him off the fantasy radar in most formats, though he could emerge as a potential asset if Waller is unable to stay healthy.
Mar 15, 2023
Will develop behind Waller
The Giants remain high on Bellinger, who will be able to develop "at a more normal pace" after the team traded for Darren Waller on Tuesday, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
After being taken in the fourth round of last year's NFL Draft, Bellinger quickly worked his way up to being New York's starting tight end. Though he performed admirably in the role, finishing the campaign with 30 catches for 268 yards and two receiving touchdowns (and adding a touchdown on his only rush attempt) over 11 games, the Giants traded for Waller to help perk up their passing game soon after handing out a four-year contract to quarterback Daniel Jones. Waller's arrival will almost certainly mean less opportunities for Bellinger, but Dunleavy notes that the organization has not lost any faith in Bellinger's ability. That said, from a fantasy perspective, Bellinger isn't likely to make much of an impact as long as Waller is healthy.
Feb 3, 2023
Cements starting role as rookie
Bellinger totaled 30 catches on 35 targets for 268 yards and two receiving touchdowns during the regular season in his rookie campaign. He added one rush for a two-yard touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger saw his snap count rise steadily from Week 1 to Week 6 before suffering an eye injury against Jacksonville in Week 7. The issue required surgery and cost him four contests, but Bellinger immediately slotted back into a starting role upon his return and received the lion's share of New York's tight-end snaps the rest of the way, including in two postseason contests during which he tallied three catches on five targets for 21 yards. While the rookie out of San Diego State didn't record more than five receptions or 42 yards in any game during the campaign, he made at least one catch in every contest after Week 1 and solidified his place as the Giants' tight end of the future. New York has a bevy of pass catchers along with quarterback Daniel Jones slated for free agency this offseason, so Bellinger's outlook for next year could be impacted by who the team adds, retains and parts ways with.
Jan 16, 2023
Hauls in TD in wild-card win
Bellinger caught both his targets for 17 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-24 wild-card win over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
The rookie tight end hadn't scored a TD since Week 6, but Bellinger was on the other end of a nine-yard toss from Daniel Jones early in the third quarter that gave the Giants a 24-14 lead. Bellinger has shown flashes of upside in his brief career, but they didn't come against the team he'll face in the divisional round, as the Eagles held him to only three catches for 19 yards in their first meeting back in Week 14.
Jan 1, 2023
Slightly increases production
Bellinger hauled in all three of his targets for 42 yards Sunday in the Giants' Week 17 win over Indianapolis.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger tied for second on New York in receiving yardage with a total that established a new career-high mark. The bulk of the rookie tight end's production came on a 24-yard reception in the second quarter that took the ball to the Colts' seven-yard line and helped set up an Isaiah Hodgins receiving touchdown. Bellinger has been given a near every-down role for the playoff-bound Giants, but he hasn't put up the type of numbers typical of a must-roster tight end in standard fantasy leagues.
Dec 26, 2022
Records two catches Saturday
Bellinger corralled both of his targets for 27 yards in Saturday's Week 16 loss to Minnesota. He also lost one fumble.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger was the only New York tight end to see any targets Saturday, and he played all but one of the team's offensive snaps. However, the rookie continued to post modest numbers, and his fumble following a 16-yad reception on the opening play of the second quarter led to a Vikings field goal. The 27 receiving yards was Bellinger's highest mark since returning from an eye injury Week 13, emphasizing his relatively low fantasy ceiling as quarterback Daniel Jones has increasingly fed the team's wideouts while continuing to look to running back Saquon Barkley for short-yardage passing work.
Dec 19, 2022
Only one catch Week 15
Bellinger caught one of four targets for four yards in a 20-12 victory versus the Commanders on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger tied for fourth on New York with four targets, but he was able to corral only of them for a short gain. He ended up with his fewest receiving yards since being shut out entirely in the Giants' season-opener, though that can be partly attributed to an overall quiet passing performance by Daniel Jones, who threw for only 160 yards. Bellinger played on 98 percent of New York's offensive snaps and remains the team's clear-cut top tight end, and he will have a chance to bounce back in a Week 16 visit to Minnesota.
Dec 18, 2022
Playing Sunday
Bellinger (ribs) is listed as active Sunday in Washington, Matt Citak of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Last Sunday against the Eagles, Bellinger attempted to play through a rib injury but eventually departed for good in the fourth quarter. Coach Brian Daboll described Bellinger's issue as "pretty sore" Monday, capping him to limited sessions during Week 15 prep. It won't stop Bellinger from being available to the Giants offense Sunday, and assuming he avoids any in-game setbacks, he'll be set for a majority share of the team's TE reps. In nine appearances as a fourth-round rookie, he's hauled in 24 of 26 targets for 195 yards and two touchdowns.
Dec 16, 2022
Questionable due to rib injury
Bellinger (rib) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Matt Citak of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger exited the Week 14 loss to the Eagles with a rib injury, and the rookie tight end has been limited in practice throughout the week while dealing with soreness. New York didn't get much production from its tight ends when Bellinger was out earlier in the season due to an eye injury, but Nick Vannett, Chris Myarick and Lawrence Cager would all be candidates for more playing time if Bellinger's unable to suit up Sunday.
Dec 15, 2022
Stays limited in practice
Bellinger (rib) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger is dealing with a sore rib in the aftermath of this past Sunday's loss to the Eagles, during which he made his second straight appearance following a five-week absence due to a fractured left eye socket. The rookie tight end appears on track to be available this weekend in Washington, but he may need to upgrade to full practice participation Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into Sunday.
Dec 14, 2022
Limited practice on tap
Bellinger (ribs) will be limited at practice Wednesday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Dan Duggan of The Athletic, Bellinger was "pretty sore" following the Giants' loss to the Eagles in Week 14. While the tight end's status is worth monitoring ahead of Sunday night's game against the Commanders, Bellinger's ability to practice in any fashion Wednesday appears to be a good sign with regard to his Week 15 availability.
Dec 12, 2022
Still dealing with sore ribs
Giants coach Brian Daboll indicated Monday that Bellinger is "pretty sore" after leaving Sunday's loss to Philadelphia early due to a rib injury, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger hurt his ribs in the second quarter of Sunday's contest when taking a hit after making a catch. He was able to stay in the game but was ultimately pulled in the fourth period. There appears to be some concern about his status for Week 15, though a clearer picture of his availability will be shown by this week's practice reports. If Bellinger misses Sunday's game against Washington, Nick Vannett would likely take over the starting role.
Dec 11, 2022
Ruled out of Sunday's game
Bellinger won't return to Sunday's game versus the Eagles due to a rib injury, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger exited the contest in the third quarter but was able to get back on the field for the Giants' first drive of the fourth. However, the rib issue that initially forced him to the sideline with keep him there for the rest of Week 14, from which he'll emerge with three catches (on three targets) for 19 yards. Bellinger's next chance to play will arrive next Sunday at Washington.
Dec 11, 2022
Back in Sunday's game
Bellinger (ribs) returned to Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger missed some time in the second half with a rib injury, but after getting examined he'll resume his status as the Giants' top tight end. He'll be looking to build upon his three catches (on three targets) for 19 yards that he compiled prior to his exit.
Dec 11, 2022
Leaves game with rib injury
Bellinger is questionable to return Sunday against the Eagles due to a rib injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The rookie tight end caught a pass early in the second quarter and was slow to get up but stayed in the game until he left in the second half with a rib injury, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Bellinger caught three passes for 19 yards before exiting and will likely be replaced by Nick Vannett.
Dec 4, 2022
Totals five catches in return
Bellinger caught all five of his targets for 24 yards Sunday in the Giants' 20-20 tie with Washington.
ANALYSIS
Playing in his first game since suffering a fractured left eye socket against Jacksonville in Week 7, Bellinger tied his career-best mark with five catches and finished in a tie for third on the team with five targets. The rookie tight end was used exclusively as a short-yardage option -- his longest gain went for just eight yards -- but it was still promising to see his level of involvement after the long layoff. New York appears committed to Bellinger as the team's clear-cut No. 1 tight end, giving him some low-end fantasy value at the position despite the Giants' mediocre passing game.
Dec 4, 2022
Back in action Sunday
Bellinger (eye) is active for Sunday's game versus the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
After enduring a brutal fracture to his left eye socket back in Week 7 and undergoing surgery to repair it, Bellinger has progressed enough for the Giants to clear him to return. He'll thus miss four games as a result, and the team seemingly is confident he'll be able to handle most of the TE reps after making Lawrence Cager a healthy scratch Sunday. Prior to getting injured, Bellinger scored two touchdowns on 18 targets, four of which occurred in the red zone.
Dec 2, 2022
Drawing closer to return
Bellinger (eye) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Commanders, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger isn't in the clear yet as he draws closer to the end of his recovery from the fractured left eye socket that he sustained back in Week 7. So far, he's missed four games as a result of the injury and subsequent surgery, but three capped practices in a row this week at least has given him a chance to return Sunday. If the Giants clear him ahead of a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, Bellinger may be eased in due to the relatively steady play of fellow tight end Lawrence Cager over the last three outings.
Dec 1, 2022
Listed as limited Thursday
Bellinger (eye) was listed as limited on Thursday's estimated injury report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger has been in recovery mode since suffering a fractured left eye socket Week 7. He resumed catching passes during Week 11 prep, which continued into last week. The rookie fourth-rounder then logged his first practice since sustaining the injury Wednesday, participating in a limited capacity. Bellinger would have maintained that activity level one day later if the Giants had held a session, but he at least appears to be putting himself in a position to return to action Sunday versus the Commanders. Friday's report could give the final word on that front, but if Bellinger doesn't suit up this weekend, Lawrence Cager again would be in line for an expanded role at tight end.
Nov 30, 2022
Limited to begin Week 13
Bellinger (eye) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger took part in practice for the first time since Week 7, after missing the Giants' past four games while recovering from surgery to address a fractured left eye socket. Head coach Brian Daboll expressed optimism Tuesday that Bellinger would be able to return to the lineup Sunday against the Commanders, and the rookie tight end took a positive step forward in that regard by getting back on the field, even if only in a limited capacity. If Bellinger demonstrates enough progress in the Giants' next two practices to gain clearance for Sunday, he'll likely step back in as the team's top tight end after none of Lawrence Cager, Chris Myarick or Tanner Hudson did much to distinguish themselves while Bellinger was out of the lineup.
Nov 29, 2022
Week 13 return remains possible
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday that he's optimistic that Bellinger (eye) will be available for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Daboll didn't offer many specifics on the matter, he indicated that Bellinger is "trending in the right direction" as the Week 13 game approaches. Before missing the Giants' past four games with a fractured eye socket, Bellinger had been serving as the team's top tight end, and he'll likely reclaim that role whenever he receives full medical clearance. New York has been getting by with a combination of Lawrence Cager, Tanner Hudson and Chris Myarick at tight end in recent weeks, with none making a major splash for fantasy purposes.
Nov 28, 2022
Could return Sunday
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Friday that Bellinger (eye) may be able to return to action Week 13 against Washington, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger has been out since suffering a fractured eye socket Oct. 24 against Jacksonville, though he was not placed on IR. The original timeframe for his return was estimated to be four to six weeks, and he's coming up on the tail end of that range. Though Bellinger worked catching passes last week, he didn't officially participate in any practices. He'll need to do so this week to have a chance of playing Sunday against the Commanders.
Nov 22, 2022
Sitting out Thursday
Coach Brian Daboll said Tuesday that Bellinger (eye) won't play in Thursday's contest at Dallas, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger thus will miss a fourth game in a row due to a fractured left eye socket. Until he mixes into a practice, he isn't a candidate to return to action, but he at least resumed catching passes last Wednesday. In Bellinger's place, the Giants will continue to roll with Lawrence Cager at tight end, with Tanner Hudson and Chris Myarick in reserve.
Nov 21, 2022
Listed as DNP
Bellinger (eye) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Giants held a walkthrough Monday, so the injury report is merely an estimate. Regardless, it's concerning to see Bellinger remain unavailable due a fractured left eye socket. The rookie tight end will have two more opportunities to return to practice before the team needs to make a decision on his status for Thursday's matchup against Dallas, but as of now, it appears he's trending toward a fifth straight absence.
Nov 18, 2022
Ruled out for Week 11
Coach Brian Daboll said Friday that Bellinger (eye) is ruled out for Sunday's game against Detroit, Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger will miss a fourth straight contest due to a fractured left eye socket, while also having had the Giants' bye to recover. The rookie tight end was able to resume catching passes Wednesday, a sign that he continues to progress in the right direction, but New York will have to rely on Lawrence Cager, Tanner Hudson and Chris Myarick to hold down the fort at tight end at least one more week. Bellinger's next chance to play will come Thanksgiving Day versus the Cowboys.
Nov 16, 2022
Catches passes Wednesday
Bellinger (eye), who didn't practice Wednesday, was able to catch passes on the side while wearing a visor on his helmet, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Since fracturing his left eye socket Week 7, Bellinger has missed two games sandwiched around the Giants' Week 9 bye. The swelling around and the double vision within the eye in question has nearly subsided, though, and the next step in Bellinger's recovery is an upcoming visit to a specialist, which may happen by the end of this week, per Stapleton. Once that comes to pass, the Giants may have some clarity on the final stages of Bellinger's recovery timeline. For the time being, though, Lawrence Cager likely will be the main beneficiary at tight end, with Tanner Hudson and Chris Myarick in reserve.
Nov 16, 2022
Not practicing
Bellinger (eye) didn't practice Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger has already missed two games after fracturing his eye socket Week 7 against the Jaguars. He's in danger of missing another but did say he expects to play again this season.
Nov 11, 2022
Officially out for Week 10
Bellinger (eye) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger will miss at least one more contest due to a fractured left eye socket suffered Week 7 versus the Jaguars, though the team has expressed optimism he could return Week 11 against Detroit. Chris Myarick and Tanner Hudson will hold down the fort at tight end during Sunday's contest against Houston, in the meantime.
Nov 9, 2022
Needs more time to heal
Bellinger (eye) said he is improving and will play again this season but still needs time to heal, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
ANALYSIS
The tight end worked with trainers on the side at Tuesday and Wednesday, but he'll miss at least one more game coming out of the Week 9 bye. The Giants haven't placed Bellinger on IR, which suggests he at least has some chance to make it back within the next 3-4 weeks.
Nov 9, 2022
Showing improvement
Bellinger (eye) worked with trainers on the side during the open portion of Giants practice Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger has been out of action since fracturing his left eye socket during a Week 7 win over the Jaguars. The rookie tight end has been said to be improving, and Giants general manager Joe Schoen recently indicated that the team hopes to he'll be able to return Week 11 versus Detroit, per Duggan.
Oct 28, 2022
Gets eye surgery
Bellinger underwent successful surgery Friday to address damage to his septum as well as fractures on the lower window of his left eye socket, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Surgery was ordered up for the rookie tight end after he suffered the injury when he was poked in the eye during the Giants' Week 7 win over the Jaguars. According to Fowler, Bellinger believes he'll be able to return to the field in 2-to-6 weeks, but prior reports have suggested a 4-to-6-week timeline may be more realistic. At least for the upcoming week, the Giants will likely turn to Chris Myarick and Tanner Hudson to handle reps at tight end, but neither player profiles as a reliable fantasy option.
Oct 24, 2022
Needs surgery, out indefinitely
Giants head coach Brain Daboll said Monday that Bellinger (eye) will undergo surgery and is out indefinitely, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger fractured his eye socket during Sunday's win over the Jaguars and was transported to the hospital immediately, but he wasn't diagnosed with a fracture until meeting with a specialist Monday. Daboll wouldn't rule out the rookie tight end for the season, but he did say it's currently uncertain if Bellinger will play again this season.
Oct 24, 2022
Has fractured eye socket
Bellinger may require surgery after fracturing his eye socket in Sunday's 23-17 win over the Jaguars, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger had to go to the hospital after getting injured during Sunday's game, and a meeting with an ophthalmologist Monday revealed the extent of the injury. Even if the rookie tight end avoids surgery, he'll likely miss some time as he recovers from this injury, though a concrete return timetable for Bellinger has yet to be established.
Oct 23, 2022
Meeting with ophthalmologist
Bellinger (eye) is slated to meet with an ophthalmologist Monday, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger was unable to return to Sunday's eventual win in Jacksonville after getting poked in the eye on his only catch near the end of the second quarter, which required a cart to go to the locker room. Coach Brian Daboll told Vacchiano that Bellinger is traveling back to New York with his teammates, but the tight end's "eye looks terrible right now." Monday's examination may reveal whether or not Bellinger misses any time, but if he does Chris Myarick and Tanner Hudson are the next Giants up at the position.
Oct 23, 2022
Rejoins teammates for trip home
Coach Brian Daboll said Bellinger is back with the Giants after Sunday's win at Jacksonville, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger exited the contest after he was poked in the eye during his only catch (a 13-yarder) just before halftime, requiring a cart to get the locker room. He was seen with a lot of blood on the front of his jersey, and Daboll also told Vacchiano afterward that Bellinger's "eye looks terrible right now." There's no telling if Bellinger's status is in peril for next Sunday's visit to Seattle, but the other tight ends on the Giants' active roster are Chris Myarick and Tanner Hudson.
Oct 23, 2022
Won't return versus Jacksonville
Bellinger (eye) was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger had to be carted to the locker room and was seen with blood on the front of his jersey after he appeared to be poked in the eye late in the first half. According to Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports, the 22-year-old was also taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation, which should provide more clarity on the exact nature of this injury. Bellinger's next opportunity to play will come against the Seahawks on Sunday, Oct. 30.
Oct 23, 2022
Leaves Sunday's game early
Bellinger (undisclosed) was carted to the locker room during Sunday's game in Jacksonville, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
At the end of a 13-yard catch late in the second quarter, Bellinger appeared to get poked in the eye by a Jaguars defender. The nature of his injury is unclear, but he was spotted with blood on the front of his jersey as he was taken off the field, per Mark Long of the Associated Press.
Oct 17, 2022
Leads NY pass catchers in win
Bellinger tallied five catches on five targets for 38 yards while scoring a touchdown in a 24-20 victory versus the Ravens in Week 6.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger's longest reception of the day went for a modest 10 yards, but he still led the Giants with 38 receiving yards in the win. His five catches were a season high, and he narrowly fell short of his top mark of 40 receiving yards set in Week 3 against Dallas. His biggest contribution was an eight-yard touchdown reception with just over six minutes left in the fourth quarter. Bellinger hasn't seen enough volume to be more than a fringe fantasy option, but he's scored twice this season and seems to be gaining the trust of Daniel Jones, so he's not entirely off the radar.
Oct 9, 2022
Finds end zone as rusher
Bellinger recorded two receptions on three targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 27-22 win over the Packers. He added one rush for two yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger remained involved in the Gaints' offense, though most of the team's pass catchers were limited by the team's focus on the rushing attack. In addition to recording multiple receptions for the third straight game, he also tallied a two-yard rushing touchdown just before halftime. Bellinger has yet to record a stat line that stands out, but the Giants continue to find ways to keep him involved.
Oct 2, 2022
Slowly emerging
Bellinger recorded three catches on three targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger's production won't jump off the stat sheet, but he tied for the team lead with three targets and led the team in receptions and yards. The Giants only attempted 16 passes for the game, limiting the potential production of all pass catchers. However, Bellinger appears to be developing some rapport with Daniel Jones (ankle), as he's tallied seven catches for 63 yards combined across his last two games.

Involvement ticks up
Bellinger recorded four receptions on five targets for 40 yards in Monday's 23-16 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger had only one target through two games to begin his rookie season, but he saw a significant jump in his role against Dallas. He finished tied for second on the team in targets and also showed big-play ability by hauling in a 20-yard reception midway through the first quarter. The Giants are in need of playmakers to complement Saquon Barkley, so it's possible that Bellinger's role in the offense continues to expand.

Hauls in first career TD
Bellinger caught his lone target for a 16-yard touchdown Sunday in a 19-16 win versus the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger logged the most snaps (42) among Giants tight ends in the victory, though Tanner Hudson led the group with three targets, two catches and 22 yards. Bellinger made the biggest impact, however, hauling in a Daniel Jones dumpoff in the third quarter and taking it 16 yards to pay dirt. Despite the score, Bellinger isn't a particularly appealing option in fantasy given that he has just one target over his first two contests.

Not listed on Week 1 injury report
Bellinger (concussion) isn't listed on the injury report for Sunday's game in Tennessee, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger didn't need long to pass through concussion protocol after suffering the injury Aug. 28 in the Giants' final preseason game. He got most of the first-team snaps at tight end throughout the preseason, and while he didn't do much with them, Bellinger could be the Week 1 starter at what looks like the team's weakest position. Behind him the Giants have only 27-year-old Tanner Hudson and 25-year-old Chris Myarick, a duo with eight combined catches in the NFL. Bellinger is listed with the starters on the team's first depth chart of the regular season.

Takes another step
Bellinger is making progress in the concussion protocol, with his work Wednesday including running on the side, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger suffered the concussion Sunday and has another week and a half to get ready for a Sept. 11 season opener against the Giants. The fourth-round rookie worked with the starting offense throughout the preseason and appears to be the top option in arguably the weakest TE room in the league.

Progressing in recovery
Bellinger (concussion) appears to be moving through the concussion protocol rapidly, Art Stapleton of The Record Sports reports, as the tight end was spotted on the field during Tuesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Concussions can have varying return timelines, but Bellinger's appears to be on the more optimistic end considering he was already able to take the field just two days after the injury, even if he wasn't doing much during the portion of practice available to the media. While he has yet to officially get the green light, it seems likely that the rookie fourth-round pick will be available in time to suit up for the Giants' Sept. 11 season opener in Tennessee.

Concussion confirmed
Bellinger suffered a concussion during Sunday's preseason contest versus the Jets, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Concussions don't follow any set timeline for a return to action, but fortunately for Bellinger he has exactly two weeks to make his way through the league's five-step protocol related to head injuries. In a Giants tight end room light on name players, the rookie fourth-round pick has a great chance to play a prominent role at the position Week 1 and beyond, assuming he's healthy.

May have head injury
Bellinger is under evaluation for a concussion during Sunday's preseason contest against the Jets, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger was seen making his way to the locker room with the Giants medical staff late in the first half. If he's eventually diagnosed with a head injury, he'll finish preseason Week 3 with three catches (on three targets) for 37 yards.

Mixed bag against Bengals
Bellinger caught two of three targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 25-22 preseason win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
On the bright side, Bellinger got the start and seems to be the top option on New York's tight end depth chart. The fourth-round pick out of San Diego State made a rookie mistake in this one, though, as he had a catchable pass from starting quarterback Daniel Jones bounce off his hands and into those of Bengals safety Daxton Hill for an interception. That miscue aside, Bellinger looks set to play a prominent role out of the gate, though it's worth noting that he never totaled more than 357 receiving yards in a season at San Diego State.

Catches pass from backup QB
Bellinger caught his only target for five yards in Thursday's 23-21 preseason win over the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger was listed atop the tight end depth chart heading into the preseason opener, but Daniel Jones didn't look his way during the starting quarterback's two drives of action, as the only pass thrown Bellinger's way came from backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Bellinger will look to make more of an impact in New York's second preseason game Aug. 21 against Cincinnati, as Ricky Seals-Jones (undisclosed) and Jordan Akins remain hot on his heels for playing time at tight end.

Working as No. 1 tight end
Bellinger has been getting the clear majority of first-team work at tight end during camp, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger spent some time on the PUP list in late July, but he's since recovered from a quadriceps issue and may have worked his way into the lead role at tight end for New York to begin his rookie season. Ricky Seals-Jones was initially thought to be the slight favorite to top the depth chart at the position, but he's missed the entire past week of practice with an undisclosed issue. Should Bellinger secure the TE1 role, he'd be an interesting target in fantasy given the team's potential offensive growth in head coach Brian Daboll's new system.

Activated from the PUP list
Bellinger (quadriceps) was activated from the PUP list Wednesday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Bellinger was placed the PUP list Thursday with a quadriceps issue, but he appears to be ready to go for training camp this week. The 21-year-old is in line to get consideration for the starting role at tight end after he was selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He'll compete with Ricky Seals-Jones and Jordan Akins for snaps on the Giants' offense this year.

Lands on PUP list
The Giants placed Bellinger (quadriceps) on the physically unable to perform list Thursday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Rookies reported for New York's training camp Tuesday, so Bellinger may have sustained his quad injury in the interval since. The 2022 fourth-round pick worked predominantly with the first team during spring practices, and he appears to have a legitimate shot at securing the No. 1 role in the Giants' tight end room. Of course, if Bellinger misses a substantial amount of practices time due to injury this offseason, his chances of starting could significantly dip. Bellinger can be activated from the PUP list at any time this offseason, once healthy.

Big-bodied target to Big Apple
The Giants selected Bellinger in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 112th overall.
ANALYSIS
Despite starting each of the past three seasons at San Diego State, Bellinger never amassed more than 357 receiving yards in a given season. However, that doesn't mean he's simply a run-blocking specialist, as the big-bodied target has soft hands and is a more refined route runner than one might imagine given his lack of collegiate production. While unassuming veterans Ricky Seals-Jones and Jordan Akins sit atop the Giants' depth chart, Bellinger could carve out snaps as a run blocker, which might afford him a small amount of passing opportunities early on.
