Cashes in Dart's only TD pass
Slayton finished with two receptions on three targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 33-15 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Slayton wound up being the beneficiary of Jaxson Dart's (concussion) only touchdown strike in the rookie signal-caller's return to action Monday night. The 28-year-old Slayton finished well behind fellow starter Wan'Dale Robinson and TE Theo Johnson in terms of targets (eight apiece), so fantasy managers shouldn't overreact to the former's first trip to the end zone in 2025. The Giants will be on a bye in Week 14, with Slayton profiling as only a deep-league option in fantasy when the team resumes play on Dec. 14.
Nov 29, 2025
Will play against New England
Slayton (hamstring) does not carry an injury designation into Monday's game against the Patriots, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's practice reps were limited during Week 13 prep due to a hamstring issue, but he and Wan'Dale Robinson (ankle) have both been given the green light to play Monday. The wide receiver duo will be catching passes from Jaxson Dart after the rookie QB cleared the league's concussion protocol. Slayton has caught 24 passes (on 37 targets) for 366 yards across nine regular-season games.
Nov 28, 2025
Remains limited Friday
Slayton (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday.
ANALYSIS
Slayton and fellow WR Wan'Dale Robinson (ankle) have been listed as limited on both of the Giants' practice reports so far this week, meaning they'll have just one more chance to prove their respective levels of health before the team potentially gives them designations ahead of Monday's contest in New England. If Robinson is active Week 13, he'll be working with rookie QB Jaxson Dart, who cleared the concussion protocol Friday.
Nov 27, 2025
Limited on practice estimate
Slayton (hamstring) was listed as limited on Thursday's estimated injury report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton has been dealing with a lingering hamstring injury since early October and was sidelined for each of Weeks 6, 7 and 11. He was able to return to action this past Sunday in Detroit, but his 63 percent snap share resulted in just one catch (on two targets) for 23 yards. Fellow WR Wan'Dale Robinson (ankle) also was listed as limited Thursday, so the status of the Giants' top two options at the position is up in the air as they prepare for Monday's contest at New England. Meanwhile, rookie QB Jaxson Dart has cleared the concussion protocol, so Slayton will be working with his typical starting signal-caller if he's active himself Week 13.
Nov 23, 2025
One catch in return
Slayton caught one of two targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 34-27 overtime loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Slayton announced his return from a one-game absence due to a hamstring injury with a 23-yard catch on the game's first play, but he didn't catch his only other target the rest of the way. Jameis Winston threw for 366 yards, but Wan'Dale Robinson was Winston's go-to receiver, as Robinson caught nine of 14 targets for 156 yards and a touchdown. Slayton has yet to score a touchdown heading into a Week 13 road game against the Patriots, and he has topped 60 receiving yards only three times, though two of those three games came in Slayton's last two outings prior to his hamstring injury.
Nov 21, 2025
Cleared to return
Slayton (hamstring) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Detroit, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton returned to practice Thursday as a limited participant and apparently didn't need long to prove his readiness. He'll jump back in as a starter after a one-game absence, now catching passes from Jameis Winston instead of Jaxson Dart, who will miss a second straight game due to a concussion.
Nov 20, 2025
Limited in return to practice
Slayton (hamstring) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton thus was back on the practice field for the first time since he hurt his hamstring Week 10 at Chicago, but he was contained to individual drills, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Friday's injury report will reveal Slayton's odds to suit up Sunday in Detroit, but Wan'Dale Robinson, Isaiah Hodgins, Jalin Hyatt and Gunner Olszewski are the Giants' current healthy wide receivers on the active roster.
Nov 20, 2025
Back at practice
Slayton (hamstring) participated in individual drills at Thursday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
This marks Slayton's first notable on-field work since he injured his hamstring Week 10 in Chicago. He worked with the Giants' training staff on the side at Wednesday's session, so he appears to be ramping up his activity level this week. Thursday's injury report will reveal if Slayton was limited or full in his return to practice.
Nov 19, 2025
Still not practicing
Slayton (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton hasn't mixed into any drills since he injured his hamstring during a Week 10 loss in Chicago, but he was spotted working on the side with the Giants' training staff at Wednesday's session, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Slayton will have two more chances this week to put himself in a position to potentially return to action Sunday at Detroit. At the moment, Wan'Dale Robinson, Isaiah Hodgins, Jalin Hyatt and Gunner Olszewski are the healthy wide receivers on the active roster.
Nov 14, 2025
Ruled out for Week 11
Slayton (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Packers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton returned to last week's loss at Chicago after exiting with a groin injury, but he had just four yards in the second half and then missed practice all of this week. The Giants are left with Ray-Ray McCloud, Jalin Hyatt, Gunner Olszewski and Isaiah Hodgins behind Wan'Dale Robinson at wide receiver, after the Broncos poached Lil'Jordan Humphrey from New York's practice squad earlier this week. The Giants might also consider bringing Ihmir Smith-Marsette or Dalen Cambre up from the practice squad.
Nov 14, 2025
Still not practicing
Slayton (hamstring) won't practice Friday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With three straight 'DNPs' this week, Slayton is trending toward missing Sunday's game against the Packers, an outcome that could be confirmed later Friday, when the Giants post their final Week 11 injury report. If Slayton is sidelined this weekend, Gunner Olszewski and current practice squad member Ray-Ray McCloud would figure to see added snaps alongside WR Wan'Dale Robinson.
Nov 13, 2025
Another DNP on Thursday
Slayton (hamstring) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton suffered a hamstring injury during the Giants' Week 10 loss at Chicago but toughed it out en route to four catches (on four targets) for 89 yards and one touchdown while playing 63 percent of the snaps. He has yet to mix into drills this week, but he was spotted working with trainers on the side during Thursday's session, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Friday's practice likely will be key for how Slayton is listed ahead of Sunday's game against the Packers.
Nov 12, 2025
Still bothered by hamstring injury
Slayton (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton got off to a hot start in Sunday's eventual 24-20 loss to the Bears, but he caught just one pass for four yards after missing a chunk of the second quarter to be evaluated for a hamstring injury. He did finish with a 63 percent snap share, and his 89 receiving yards led the team even though he had just four targets (compared to 11 for Wan'Dale Robinson and eight for Theo Johnson). In other Giants news, interim head coach Mike Kafka is moving QB Jameis Winston ahead of Russell Wilson on the depth chart, which likely means Winston will start this Sunday against the Packers (with Jaxson Dart in concussion protocol). Winston's reputation for attempting aggressive throws downfield could work well for Slayton's fantasy production, but only if the hamstring cooperates and the Giants do a decent job of protecting Winston.
Nov 9, 2025
Makes OBJ-like catch in loss
Slayton (hamstring) caught all four of his targets for 89 yards in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Two weeks prior to the 11th anniversary of Odell Beckham's iconic one-handed catch, Slayton put on his best Beckham impression with a one-handed 31-yard catch on the final play of the first quarter. Slayton followed that up with a 38-yard catch immediately on the other side of the break. He led the Giants in receiving yards Sunday despite exiting briefly to have his hamstring checked out, but all of Slayton's production came before Jaxson Dart was knocked out of the game in the second half due to a concussion. If Dart isn't cleared to face the Packers in Week 11, Slayton would be hard to trust in fantasy despite his role as the top downfield option among Giants wide receivers.
Nov 9, 2025
Back in Sunday's contest
Slayton (hamstring) returned to Sunday's game in Chicago, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton paid a visit to the locker in the second quarter due to a hamstring injury but was able to reenter the contest after halftime. He'll look to build upon the three catches (on three targets) for 85 yards that he put together before his exit.
Nov 9, 2025
Injures hamstring Sunday
Slayton suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday's game at Chicago, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton went to the locker room in the second quarter before the Bears deemed him questionable to return. At the time of his exit, he'd notched three catches (on three targets) for 85 yards. The Giants currently are left with Wan'Dale Robinson, Ray-Ray McCloud, Gunner Olszewski and Jalin Hyatt as their available and healthy wide receivers.
Nov 2, 2025
Team's leading receiver in Week 9
Slayton caught five of seven targets for 62 yards in Sunday's 34-24 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Slayton led the Giants in receiving yards despite making four fewer catches than Wan'Dale Robinson, who finished with only 46 receiving yards. Slayton will likely continue to play a significant role in Week 10 against the Bears as the top downfield target for Jaxson Dart in the injury-riddled Giants offense.
Oct 26, 2025
Has long TD called back in return
Slayton (hamstring) caught two of five targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's stat line would have looked much better if his 68-yard fourth-quarter touchdown catch hadn't been called back due to a ticky-tack offensive pass interference call. Even so, Slayton still led the Giants in targets in his return from a two-game absence. With Malik Nabers (knee) done for the year and Wan'Dale Robinson rarely capable of contributing more than a few yards beyond the line of scrimmage, Slayton should continue to work as Jaxson Dart's top downfield target in Week 9 against the 49ers.
Oct 24, 2025
Cleared for action
Slayton (hamstring) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Philadelphia, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Giants coach Brian Daboll hinted at this Friday morning when he told reporters that Slayton looked good during practice the past two days. Slayton should jump right back in as a starter, as the Giants don't have much else besides Wan'Dale Robinson at wide receiver.
Oct 24, 2025
Coach optimistic for Week 8 return
Head coach Brain Daboll said Friday that he's optimistic about Slayton's (hamstring) availability for Sunday's game against the Eagles after Slayton had "two good days" of practice Wednesday and Thursday, Dan Solomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was listed as limited Wednesday and Thursday. Barring an upgrade to full participation Friday, Slayton will likely carry a questionable designation into Sunday's game after sitting out the Giants' past two contests. Daboll's optimism suggests Slayton will likely suit up barring a setback.
Oct 23, 2025
Stays limited in practice
Slayton (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton has kicked off Week 8 prep with a pair of limited practices, but because he hasn't played since Week 5 due to the hamstring injury, he may need to turn in a full practice Friday in order to avoid taking a designation into Sunday's game in Philadelphia. With Malik Nabers (knee) lost for the season, Slayton should be in line for a prominent role in the Giants' passing attack for the second half of the campaign once he's cleared to play.
Oct 22, 2025
Returns to practice
Slayton (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It's his first practice since injuring his hamstring during a Week 5 loss at New Orleans. Lil'Jordan Humphrey stepped in as New York's No. 2 receiver the past two games, putting up 4-55-0 in Week 6 before posting a goose egg in Week 7. Slayton should step right back in as a starter if he's cleared to play -- potentially this Sunday against the Eagles.
Oct 18, 2025
Won't play against Denver
Slayton (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton has not practiced since injuring his hamstring during the Giants' Week 5 loss to the Saints. The seventh-year wideout will be sidelined for a second straight game due to his injury, and he'll work to progress enough in his recovery to return in Week 8 against the Eagles on Sunday, Oct. 26. Lil'Jordan Humphrey should be elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for a second-straight week to join the Giants' wide receiver corps that consists of Wan'Dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt, Beaux Collins and Gunner Olszewski.
Oct 17, 2025
Doubtful for Week 7
Slayton (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton hasn't practiced since injuring his hamstring during a Week 5 loss to the Saints. He's now expected to miss a second straight game, freeing up snaps/routes for Jalin Hyatt, Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Beaux Collins alongside Wan'Dale Robinson.
Oct 16, 2025
Misses practice Thursday
Slayton (hamstring) is not participating in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton appears to be trending toward a second straight absence due to his lingering hamstring issue, as he hasn't practiced in any capacity since suffering the injury Week 5 versus the Saints. He'll have one final opportunity to get back on the practice field Friday, at which point New York will assign him a preliminary injury designation for Week 7. Jalin Hyatt (ankle), who remains limited in practice, will benefit from increased opportunities if Slayton remains sidelined Sunday at Denver, and Lil'Jordan Humphrey will likely be elevated from the practice squad again.
Oct 15, 2025
No practice Wednesday
Slayton (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton injured his hamstring during the Giants' Week 5 loss at New Orleans and hasn't practiced in the meantime, sitting out last Thursday's win against the Eagles in the process. He'll have two more chances this week to mix into drills before New York potentially makes a ruling on his status for Sunday's game at Denver.
Oct 8, 2025
Officially out for TNF
Slayton (hamstring) is ruled out for Thursday's game against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton will miss Thursday's divisional matchup due to a hamstring injury sustained during Sunday's loss to the Saints. His next opportunity to retake the field will come Sunday, Oct. 19 on the road against Denver in Week 7. With Stayton unavailable Thursday, Lil'Jordan Humphrey is expected to be elevated from the practice squad.
Oct 8, 2025
Not expected to play Thursday
Slayton (hamstring) is not expected to be available for Thursday's home game against the Eagles, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton suffered a hamstring injury during New York's loss to the Saints on Sunday, and he was listed as a non-participant at practice both Monday and Tuesday. He's expected to be officially declared out with the release of Wednesday's practice report, which Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports would pave the way for Lil'Jordan Humphrey to be elevated from the practice squad for Thursday's matchup and play a role on offense behind Wan'Dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt, Beaux Collins and Gunner Olszewski.
Oct 7, 2025
Sidelined for practice
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that Slayton (hamstring) won't take part in Tuesday's walk-through practice, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
After tweaking his hamstring in Sunday's 26-14 loss to the Saints, Slayton could be hard-pressed to make a full recovery from the injury ahead of the Giants' Week 6 matchup with the Eagles on Thursday night. Daboll suggested that Slayton is trending toward being a game-time decision for Thursday, though the Giants will wait until Wednesday before formally giving the wideout a designation heading into the contest. If Slayton can't rally to play on a short week, the Giants would be left with Wan'Dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt, Beaux Collins and Gunner Olszewski as their available options at receiver. New York has three receivers on its practice squad (Lil'Jordan Humphrey, Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Dalen Cambre) as potential candidates for elevation in Week 6.
Oct 6, 2025
Estimated as DNP on Monday
Slayton (hamstring) was estimated as a non-participant on Monday's practice report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton pulled up lame in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Saints, and now the Giants have a short week ahead of Thursday night's game against the Eagles. If Slayton is unable to play in Week 6, Jalin Hyatt and Beaux Collins figure to see every-down snaps alongside slot man Wan'Dale Robinson, though the Giants could use more two-tight end sets featuring Daniel Bellinger.
Oct 5, 2025
Injures hamstring Sunday
Slayton sustained a hamstring injury during Sunday's game at New Orleans, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Dan Duggan of The Athletic, Slayton was seen limping on the sideline in the fourth quarter before the Giants considered him questionable to return. If he's unable to do so, Slayton will finish Week 5 action with three catches (on six targets) for 31 yards and a lost fumble.
Sep 28, 2025
Leading receiver in Week 4 win
Slayton caught three of four targets for 44 yards in Sunday's 21-18 win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
While the volume and production were modest, Slayton wound up leading the Giants in receptions and receiving yards in Jaxson Dart's first career start at QB, as Malik Nabers (knee) was knocked out of the game in the second quarter. Nabers' injury is feared to be a torn ACL which would end his season, a development that would make Slayton the team's top downfield option, albeit in arguably the weakest wide receiver group in the league. The veteran WR will take a 9-135-0 line on 13 targets into a Week 5 contest against the Saints.
Sep 26, 2025
Cleared to play
Slayton (calf) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Chargers
ANALYSIS
Among starting NFL wide receivers, Slayton ranks near the top in snap/route share (both above 90 percent) but close to the bottom for target rate (7 percent of routes). Things can't get much worse from a fantasy standpoint, even if new starting quarterback Jaxson Dart inevitably also throws to Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson far more often than Slayton.
Sep 25, 2025
Stays limited Thursday
Slayton (calf) practiced on a limited basis Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton maintained his activity level from Wednesday as he tends to a calf issue, and he'll now have just one more opportunity to practice in full this week before the Giants potentially hand him a designation prior to Sunday's contest versus the Chargers. If he's able to avoid being inactive this weekend, he'll be working with rookie signal-caller Jaxson Dart, who is taking over for veteran Russell Wilson.
Sep 24, 2025
Limited in practice
Slayton (calf) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It's a new injury, after Slayton played just 64 percent of snaps in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 23-9 loss to the Chiefs (he was on the field for 94.3 percent of New York's snaps this season beforehand). Coincidence or not, Slayton's ability to practice in any capacity at the start of the week suggests he's on track to play this Sunday against the Chargers in what will be the first career start for Giants QB Jaxson Dart.
Sep 22, 2025
Perfect on four targets
Slayton recorded four receptions on four targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 22-9 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
The Giants couldn't get much going with their passing offense, consistently targeting their top playmakers on deep passes. Slayton was the exception, as he saw the majority of his opportunities in the short areas of the field, with his longest gain going for 14 yards. While Slayton earned a season-high in targets and receptions, both Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson will continue to be prioritized ahead of him in the offense.
Sep 19, 2025
Cleared for SNF
Slayton (groin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The same goes for Wan'Dale Robinson, whose early success has partially come at Slayton's expense. While never known for high target rates, Slayton will inevitably see more passes come his way if he doesn't lose his every-down role. His 82 routes run through Week 2 were sixth most in the league, but Slayton somehow got just four targets, while every other player with 80 or more routes (including teammate Malik Nabers) was targeted at least 13 times.
Sep 18, 2025
Logs another limited session
Slayton (groin) was limited in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's final chance to upgrade to full practice reps will come Friday, but after back-to-back limited sessions it appears he has a solid chance to suit up Sunday night versus the Chiefs. If clear to play Week 3, Slayton will continue operating as the No. 3 receiver behind Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson (foot) for New York.
Sep 17, 2025
Limited in practice
Slayton (groin/calf) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton has played all but one of the Giants' offensive snaps through two weeks this season, though in that span he's brought in just two catches for 61 yards on five targets, with all of his production having come during Week 2's overtime loss to the Cowboys. While Slayton being limited Wednesday doesn't yet seem an indication that his status is genuinely in jeopardy for Sunday night's matchup against the Chiefs, he appears definitively positioned behind both Wan'Dale Robinson and superstar Malik Nabers in New York's wide receiver pecking order.
Sep 15, 2025
Hauls in 52-yard reception
Slayton caught two of three targets for 61 yards in a Week 2 overtime loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was shut out in the first half but salvaged a decent final line with 61 receiving yards after halftime. Most of that production came on a 52-yard connection with Russell Wilson midway through the third quarter. Despite that big play, it doesn't bode well for his place in New York's WR pecking order that Slayton saw just three targets despite playing all but one of the team's offensive snaps, especially since Russell Wilson aired it out 41 times and gained 450 yards on 30 completions. It was already a given that Malik Nabers would hog the wideout targets for the Giants this season, but it's telling that Wan'Dale Robinson garnered 10 looks of his own and nabbed eight receptions for a career-high 142 yards Sunday. With just five targets (and two catches) through two weeks, Slayton doesn't appear to have established much chemistry with Wilson thus far.
Sep 12, 2025
Cleared for Week 2
Slayton (groin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
A mid-week addition to the injury report, Slayton apparently didn't have any issues during Friday's practice. He handled team-high 97 percent route share in last week's loss to Washington but somehow managed just one incomplete target on his 38 routes. Slayton should see more looks this Sunday but won't necessarily be featured even if Wan'Dale Robinson (questionable - ankle) doesn't end up playing.
Sep 11, 2025
Limited by groin Thursday
Slayton was a limited participant in Thursday's practice due to a groin injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
New York didn't include Slayton on its initial Week 2 injury report that was released Wednesday, so his addition to the report Thursday could be indicative of an in-practice setback. Slayton will have one more chance to increase his practice activity Friday before the Giants decide whether he'll take a designation into Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Sep 8, 2025
Held catchless in opener
Slayton did not catch his only target against the Commanders in Sunday's Week 1 loss.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was targeted by Russell Wilson just once on a day when the Giants' new quarterback heaved 37 total passes. Malik Nabers got a hefty amount of opportunities, as expected, with 12 targets, while Wan'Dale Robinson was pretty active with eight. Wilson completed just 17 of his 37 attempts for 168 yards, and if he continues to struggle the team may eventually turn to rookie Jaxson Dart, but head coach Brian Daboll confirmed Monday that Wilson will be the Week 2 starter Sunday in Dallas, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. With that in mind, Slayton doesn't project to be an appealing fantasy target for that contest.
Aug 17, 2025
Past undisclosed injury
Slayton (undisclosed) played 10 snaps on offense but did not show up in the box score otherwise during the Giants' 31-12 preseason win over the Jets on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Slayton had been working through an undisclosed injury that caused him to miss the Giants' preseason opener against the Bills, but the 2019 fifth-rounder progressed enough in his recovery to suit up Saturday. Slayton is entering the final year of his two-year contract and is aiming to bounce back from a disappointing 2024 regular season in which his 39 catches for 573 yards were his lowest output since 2021 (26 catches for 339 yards). The Giants' quarterback situation in 2024 was shaky, but the addition of Russell Wilson should help raise Slayton's floor this season.
Aug 9, 2025
Won't play Saturday
Based on his absence from pre-game warmups, Slayton (undisclosed) will not play in the Giants' preseason opener against the Bills on Saturday, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
The Giants will be without Slayton in Malik Nabers (shoulder), which gives Jalin Hyatt and Lil'Jordan Humphrey the opportunity to work alongside Wan'Dale Robinson in the first-team offense. Slayton didn't participate in Thursday's practice due to an undisclosed injury, so the Giants will take the conservative route with the veteran wideout Saturday. The Giants' second exhibition contest takes place Saturday, Aug. 16 against the Jets.
Aug 7, 2025
Sits out practice
Slayton (undisclosed) is not participating in Thursday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton is missing a second consecutive practice due to an undisclosed injury. The Giants' lack of commentary on Slayton's status seems like an indication that the issue is minor, but it remains to be seen whether he'll be cleared in time to potentially suit up for Saturday's preseason opener against the Bills. After re-signing with New York on a on a three-year, $36 million this offseason, Slayton enters the 2025 campaign positioned to start alongside Malik Nabers (shoulder/toe) and Wan'Dale Robinson (leg) in three-wide sets.
Mar 10, 2025
Staying in New York
Slayton re-signed with the Giants on a three-year, $36 million contract Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton will remain with the only organization he's known since being selected in the fifth round of the 2019 Draft. Through six seasons, he's surpassed 700 receiving yards four times and 40 catches on four occasions while scoring 21 touchdowns in 92 regular-season games. The primary question mark is who will be throwing passes to Slayton and fellow WRs Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson in 2025, as Tommy DeVito currently is the only QB under contract with the Giants.
Jan 6, 2025
Catchless to conclude campaign
Slayton did not catch his only target in a 20-13 Week 18 loss to Philadelphia on Sunday. He finished the regular season with 39 receptions on 70 targets for 573 yards and two touchdowns along with two rushes for 17 yards.
ANALYSIS
In what may have been Slayton's final game with the Giants, he actually led the team's wideouts with 48 offensive snaps but had just one pass thrown his way by QB Drew Lock. The lack of production has been typical for the veteran wideout of late -- after catching four passes for 108 yards against Pittsburgh in Week 8, Slayton didn't exceed three receptions or 49 yards in any of his final eight contests. Slayton came into 2024 having paced New York in receiving yards each of the previous two campaigns, but it was clear that there was going to be a changing of the guard after the Giants drafted Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 Draft. The passing of the torch did indeed take place -- Nabers enjoyed a massive rookie campaign, catching 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns -- and Slayton slipped to No. 3 on the wideout pecking order behind Wan'Dale Robinson, who ranked second on New York in targets, catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Slayton will be a free agent after
Dec 29, 2024
Makes most of only catch Sunday
Slayton caught one of three targets for a 32-yard touchdown in Sunday's 45-33 Week 17 win against the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Slayton continued what is now a six-game stretch with two or fewer catches, though Sunday's performance ranked as his best across that span thanks to the 32-yard touchdown the veteran wideout grabbed in the second quarter. That score was Slayton's first since Week 5 and just his second overall this season. The 27-year-old heads into New York's season finale with just 39 catches for 573 yards on the campaign -- unless he has a huge performance Week 18 against the Eagles, Slayton will finish with his second-fewest receptions and receiving yards over his six-year career.
Dec 23, 2024
Totals 27 yards in big loss
Slayton caught one of two targets for 21 yards and gained six rushing yards on his only carry in Sunday's 34-7 Week 16 loss to the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Slayton got his second carry of the season late in the first quarter with New York in the red zone, logging a six-yard rush to help set up the team's lone score. The veteran wideout's only other touch was a 21-yard reception late in the fourth period. Slayton's two targets put him well behind Malik Nabers (14 targets) and Wan'Dale Robinson (12) in the pecking order, which has been the case throughout most of the campaign. With only 38 catches for 541 yards through Week 16, Slayton is on pace to finish with his fewest receptions and receiving yards since 2021.
Dec 16, 2024
Gets just one target Week 15
Slayton caught his only target for 16 yards in Sunday's 35-14 loss to Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's recent trend of poor production continued in the loss, as he's now caught two or fewer passes in four straight games. Even more worrisome is the fact that the veteran wideout was targeted just once in the contest. It doesn't help that the Giants' quarterback situation is a mess -- with Drew Lock (heel/elbow) unable to play against the Ravens and Tommy DeVito leaving late in the first half due to a concussion, journeyman Tim Boyle ended up playing the entire second half. It's uncertain which of the three signal-callers will be behind center to begin next Sunday's matchup versus the Falcons, but Slatyon's outlook isn't bright regardless of who is throwing passes for the team.
Dec 9, 2024
Remains afterthought on offense
Slatyon caught two of his six targets for 27 yards Sunday in a 14-11 Week 14 loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Malik Nabers entered the weekend deemed questionable to play due to hip and groin injuries, and with some reports indicating that he would be limited even if able to suit up, it looked like Slayton could be in line for increased opportunity. The veteran wideout did technically see a bump in his stats -- his 27 receiving yards marked his highest total since Week 9 -- but he still finished fifth on the team in targets behind wideouts Wan'Dale Robinson (11) and Nabers (10) as well as running back Tyrone Tracy (10) and tight end Daniel Bellinger (seven). Given the poor state of the Giants' offense -- they 've scored 20 or fewer points all but one time during their current eight-game losing streak -- and Slayton's increasingly frustrating inefficiency, he's a name to leave on the waiver wire in the majority of fantasy leagues.
Nov 29, 2024
Quiet again Week 13
Slayton caught two of six targets for eight yards in Thursday's Thanksgiving Day loss to Dallas.
ANALYSIS
After being held without a catch in a Week 12 loss with Tommy DeVito starting at quarterback for New York, Slayton was only mildly more productive Thursday with Drew Lock behind center. It's unclear which QB will start next Sunday against New Orleans, but either way Slayton's floor has fallen quite low since the departure of Daniel Jones. Among the Giants' wideout corps, only Malik Nabers has been able to maintain useful production since the changing of the guard at quarterback.
Nov 25, 2024
Shut out in Week 12 blowout loss
Slayton didn't catch either of his two targets in Sunday's 30-7 defeat against the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Slayton missed New York's Week 10 loss to Carolina due to a concussion, and though he was able to return Sunday following the team's Week 11 bye, he was held without a catch for the first time this season. The veteran wideout's two targets in the loss tied a season-low mark, and that number is particularly concerning given that it was New York's first game this season with second-year QB Tommy DeVito -- who put up 31 passes -- starting under center. DeVito seems set to remain the team's lead signal-caller moving forward, and if he continues to focus his attention on Malik Nabers (nine targets), Theo Johnson (six targets) and Wan'Dale Robinson (five targets), Slayton could have a hard time staying involved on offense.
Nov 22, 2024
Set to return Sunday
Slayton (concussion) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game versus the Buccaneers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With confirmation that he's cleared the concussion protocol, Slayton is set for his first game action since Week 9. Elsewhere in New York's receiving corps, Malik Nabers showed up on Friday's injury report as a non-participant due to a groin injury and is listed as questionable for Week 12 action. Nabers himself told Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com that he intends to suit up Sunday, but if Nabers is inhibited or even inactive, Slayton would stand to benefit in a passing game that will be led by Tommy DeVito now that Daniel Jones has been waived by the team.
Nov 21, 2024
Another full practice
Slayton (concussion) remained a full practice participant Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton is in the later stages of the concussion protocol following the head injury that he sustained during a Week 9 loss to the Commanders. It's unclear yet whether he's met with an independent neurologist in order to gain clearance to return to action, but he nonetheless appears as if he'll be good to go Sunday against the Buccaneers. If that comes to pass, Slayton will be on the receiving end of passes from QB Tommy DeVito after the Giants demoted Daniel Jones coming out of their Week 11 bye.
Nov 20, 2024
Full practice Wednesday
Slayton (concussion) practiced in full Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton made a late departure from a Week 9 loss to the Commanders and subsequently was placed in the concussion protocol. He wasn't able to gain clearance from an independent neurologist in time to travel with the Giants to Germany for a Week 10 matchup with the Panthers, but following the team's bye, he wasn't inhibited in the first session of Week 11 prep. It's unclear if Slayton is out of the protocol for head injuries, but Wednesday's uncapped practice indicate he's just about cleared for game action again.
Nov 7, 2024
Won't travel to Germany
Slayton (concussion) will not travel with the Giants to Germany and will be out for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was placed in concussion protocol following Sunday's loss to the Commanders and has yet to practice this week, indicating he hasn't made significant progress in his recovery. As a result, he'll stay stateside for the Giants' Week 10 game in Germany, though he should have a better chance to return after the team's bye for a Week 12 matchup against the Buccaneers. Jalin Hyatt will have the opportunity to step up in Slayton's absence.
Nov 7, 2024
Week 10 status dicey
Coach Brian Daboll said Slayton (concussion) won't practice Thursday and is unlikely to make the trip to Munich, Germany for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton has made no noticeable progress through the protocol for head injuries after he suffered a concussion this past Sunday against the Giants. If Slayton indeed isn't able to join his teammates, Jalin Hyatt will be the next player up at wide receiver alongside Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson.
Nov 6, 2024
Not practicing Wednesday
Giants head coach said that Slayton (concussion) won't practice Wednesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's absence from practice suggests he hasn't made much progress yet in his recovery from the concussion he sustained during this past Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Commanders. Daboll noted that the receiver may not make the trip to Munich in advance of Sunday's game against the Panthers, but further clarity on Slayton's status for Week 10 should arrive when the Giants' traveling party leaves for Germany on Thursday night.
Nov 3, 2024
Placed in concussion protocol
Slayton has been placed in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol following Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Commanders, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was evaluated for a head injury late in the fourth quarter, and the tests revealed a concussion. The veteran wide receiver will need to be cleared by an independent neurologist before he can resume playing. Slayton's placement in concussion protocol could affect the interest in him from other teams prior to the Nov. 5 trade deadline.
Nov 3, 2024
Concussion check ordered up
Slayton got checked for a concussion during Sunday's game against the Commanders, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Prior to exiting late in the fourth quarter, Slayton had gathered in all three targets for 49 yards and taken one carry for 11 yards. If he's diagnosed with a concussion, he'll be subject to league protocol in order to suit up again.
Oct 28, 2024
Hits for another long gain Monday
Slayton brought in four of seven targets for 108 yards in the Giants' 26-18 loss to the Steelers on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
Slayton led the Giants in receiving yards with his second-highest total of the campaign. The veteran wideout also commanded a lot more of Daniel Jones' attention after logging only one target in Week 7, and Slayton now has a combined 29 looks in three of the past four contests. The speedster could still thrive if embattled head coach Brian Daboll opts to make a change at quarterback from Jones to Drew Lock heading into a Week 9 home matchup against the Commanders, considering Lock has shown a willingness to throw deep throughout his career.
Oct 22, 2024
Quiet in Nabers' return
Slayton caught one of three targets for 11 yards in Sunday's Week 7 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
With star rookie Malik Nabers out the previous two weeks due to a concussion, Slayton had stepped as one of QB Daniel Jones' primary targets, totaling 14 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown. However, Nabers returned Sunday, and Slayton predictably faded back into a lesser role. New York's offense struggled as a whole in the contest -- the team totaled a meager 105 passing yards -- and Slayton was on the field for all 58 of the team's snaps, so there's reason to believe the performance was a low point rather than a new norm. Still, it's been pretty clear this season that the veteran wideout is going to struggle to put up useful fantasy numbers whenever the frequently targeted Nabers is on the field.
Oct 18, 2024
Cleared to face Philly
Slayton (groin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton should get plenty of playing time but is highly unlikely to match his total of 11 targets from each of the past two games now that Malik Nabers (concussion/groin) is available. Slayton's 22 targets over the past two weeks were six more than he saw over the first four games combined (15) with Nabers in the lineup.
Oct 17, 2024
Stays limited in practice
Slayton (groin) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With back-to-back capped sessions in his back pocket this week due to a groin injury, Slayton will have only one more chance for full participation in practice Friday before the Giants potentially give him a designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Eagles. Standout rookie WR Malik Nabers reached the final phase of the concussion protocol Thursday, while Wan'Dale Robinson (ankle) practiced fully, so Slayton seemingly is the least healthy of the Giants' top options at the position at the moment.
Oct 16, 2024
Limited by groin injury
Slayton was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a groin injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
There was no hint of limitation this past Sunday, with Slayton drawing 11 targets for a second straight game and playing 86 percent of snaps in a 17-7 loss to the Bengals. He briefly left the contest to be checked for a concussion, but he returned in short order and continued drawing steady targets in the absence of Malik Nabers, who remains in concussion protocol and also was a limited practice participant Wednesday. Slayton's fantasy appeal for Week 7 against the Eagles hinges on both his health and Nabers'.
Oct 14, 2024
Leads team with 11 targets
Slayton finished with six receptions (11 targets) for 57 yards in Sunday's 17-7 loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was briefly evaluated and cleared from a concussion after landing hard in the end zone on a missed connection late in Sunday's loss, according to Giants' beat reporter Dan Salomone. The injury scare actually drew a pass interference flag that led to the ensuing Tyrone Tracy rushing touchdown. The 27-year-old Slayton finished the contest with a solid PPR performance, but his upside leaves much to be desired heading into next Sunday's tilt against the Eagles. He will receive a small boost in projections should Malik Nabers (concussion) remain sidelined for a third straight game.
Oct 11, 2024
Nabers out again Week 6
Slayton is set to remain the Giants' top option on the outside Sunday against the Bengals, as Malik Nabers (concussion) has been ruled out, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton stepped up with 122 receiving yards and a touchdown on 11 targets in Nabers' absence against the Seahawks in Week 5, matching Slayton's receiving yardage total from the previous four games combined. He's well positioned to make the most of the additional volume in a primetime matchup against a struggling Bengals defense. Jalin Hyatt will likely get the majority of reps on the outside opposite Slayton, while Wan'Dale Robinson will continue to man the slot.
Oct 6, 2024
Puts on best Nabers impression
Slayton caught eight of 11 targets for 122 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 29-20 win over the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Slayton stepped up in the absence of Malik Nabers (concussion), matching the 122 yards Slayton posted in the first four games of the season. Most of his production came during a third-quarter drive on which Slayton made a 41-yard catch down the right sideline, then scored a 30-yard touchdown on the left side three plays later. Slayton should maintain a starting role on the outside for Week 6 against the Bengals regardless of Nabers' status, but Slayton's target share would likely dip if Nabers gains clearance to return.
Oct 4, 2024
Could see more targets sans Nabers
Slayton could get more looks from QB Daniel Jones with Malik Nabers (concussion) ruled out for Week 5 against Seattle, per Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton led New York in targets and receiving yards last season but has taken a backseat to Nabers early in the 2024 campaign. Nabers hasn't cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and has consequently been deemed out for Sunday, likely giving Slayton -- who has garnered just 10 catches on 15 targets through four games -- the chance to be a bigger part of the Giants' air attack. Wan'Dale Robinson should continue to work in the slot and get substantial attention from Jones as he has for most of the season, while Jalin Hyatt figures to serve as New York's No. 3 wideout Sunday and will look to log his first catch of the campaign.
Sep 27, 2024
Trio of grabs in loss
Slayton brought in three of five targets for 56 yards in the Giants' 20-15 loss to the Cowboys on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Slayton worked through a thumb injury during the short week to suit up Thursday, and he finished well behind the top duo of Malik Nabers (concussion) and Wan'Dale Robinson across his receiving line. However, the veteran wideout was able to make one of his signature chunk plays through the air, recording a 28-yard grab early in the second quarter on a drive that culminated in a Greg Joseph field goal. Slayton has a trio of three-catch tallies over his first four games, and if Nabers isn't able to clear concussion protocol for a Week 5 road matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday, Oct. 6, the former would be in line for an uptick in opportunity.
Sep 26, 2024
Suiting up Thursday
Slayton (thumb) is listed as active Thursday against the Cowboys, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After leaving this past Sunday's win at Cleveland for a spell due to a thumb injury, Slayton underwent X-rays that came back negative. He then was listed as limited on all three of the Giants' Week 4 practice reports before being listed as questionable. The issue won't stop him from suiting up Thursday, but Slayton will be donning a wrap/splint on his right thumb, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic.
Sep 25, 2024
Questionable for Week 4
Slayton (thumb) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Cowboys, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton made a brief exit at the tail end of this past Sunday's win at Cleveland due to a thumb injury. He underwent X-rays that were returned negative afterward, but he was listed as limited on the Giants' practice report Monday and Tuesday and thus will head into Thursday with a designation. Slayton's status will be confirmed about 90 minutes before an 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.
Sep 24, 2024
Listed as limited Tuesday
The Giants estimated Slayton (thumb) as a limited participant on Tuesday's practice report, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
New York held a walk-through session Tuesday, but Slayton would have been operating under some restrictions if the Giants had held a traditional practice. Slayton may need to upgrade to full participation on Wednesday's practice report to avoid taking a designation into Thursday's game against the Cowboys.
Sep 23, 2024
Estimated as limited participant
Slayton (thumb) is listed as a limited participant on Monday's estimated practice report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Giants held a walkthrough Monday, so Slayton's activity level is only an estimation, but it's nonetheless encouraging to see the No. 3 wideout listed as 'limited' Monday. X-rays on Slayton's thumb came up negative Monday after he was briefly forced out of Sunday's 21-15 win over the Browns. That bodes well for his chances of being cleared to suit up for Thursday's divisional matchup against the Cowboys.
Sep 23, 2024
X-rays on thumb return negative
Slayton underwent X-rays on his thumb following Sunday's 21-15 win over the Browns that returned negative, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was briefly forced out of Sunday's contest early in the fourth quarter due to the thumb issue, but he returned with 7:40 remaining for the start of the Giants' third drive of the quarter and finished the afternoon with a 1-7-0 receiving line on two targets while logging 81 percent of snaps. The wideout might have been playing through some discomfort the rest of the game, but with X-rays coming back negative, Slayton would seem to have a good chance at being available for the Giants' Week 4 matchup with the Cowboys on Thursday night. Those in deeper leagues planning on using Slayton in Week 4 fantasy lineups will still want to keep a close eye on Giants practice reports leading up to Thursday.
Sep 22, 2024
Back in Sunday's contest
Slayton (thumb) returned to Sunday's contest in Cleveland, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
After a brief time on the sideline to tend to a thumb injury, Slayton was able to get back into Sunday's game, looking to build upon his one catch (on two targets) for seven yards.
Sep 22, 2024
Has thumb injury
Slayton exited Sunday's contest at Cleveland due to a thumb injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
At the time of his departure in the second half, Slayton had hauled in one of two targets for seven yards. The Giants' healthy and available wide receivers Sunday are Malik Nabers, Wan'Dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt, Bryce Ford-Wheaton and Ihmir Smith-Marsette.
Sep 15, 2024
Three grabs against Washington
Slayton caught three of four targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
The veteran receiver finished a distant second on the Giants in catches and targets to dynamic rookie Malik Nabers, who posted a 10-127-1 line and saw more targets (18) than the rest of the team put together. Slayton was, however, the intended target on a pair of two-point attempts from Daniel Jones that misfired, after Graham Gano (hamstring) was injured on the opening kickoff. Slayton has seen exactly four targets, and caught three of them, in each of New York's first two games this season, giving him a limited ceiling heading into a Week 3 clash with the Browns.
Sep 13, 2024
Ready for Sunday's contest
Slayton (concussion) practiced full Friday and doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game in Washington, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
In the wake of entering the concussion protocol earlier this week, Slayton was held out of drills Wednesday before getting some non-contact work one day later. His full practice Friday was accompanied by no game status for Week 2, indicating he gained clearance from an independent neurologist. Thus, Slayton will team up with Malik Nabers (knee), Wan'Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt at wide receiver for New York's offense this weekend.
Sep 12, 2024
Upgrades to limited Thursday
Slayton (concussion) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton entered the protocol for head injuries in the wake of the Giants' Week 1 loss to the Vikings. After sitting out Wednesday's session, he was back on the field for some drills on day later, indicating he's through at least a few of the five steps of the aforementioned protocol. Slayton will have one more opportunity to get back to all activity this week, but he'll still need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist in order to suit up Sunday at Washington.
Sep 11, 2024
Won't practice Wednesday
Coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Slayton (concussion) won't participate in practice, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton won't yet practice as he works his way through the NFL's concussion protocol. The No. 3 wideout will have two more opportunities to increase his activity level before receiving an injury designation for Week 2, but he'll need to gain full clearance in order to suit up Sunday against Washington. Jalin Hyatt will have a path to increased offensive snaps if Slayton misses any time.
Sep 9, 2024
In concussion protocol
Coach Brian Daboll said Monday that Slayton is in the concussion protocol, Patricia Traina of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton secured three of four targets for 27 yards while playing 72 percent of offensive snaps during Sunday's 28-6 loss to the Vikings, and he'll now need to fully clear the league's five-step concussion protocol before suiting up again. The speedster is entrenched as a starter in three-receiver sets alongside Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson. If he's unavailable Week 2 versus the Commanders, Jalin Hyatt could get an opportunity to step up as the No. 3 WR.
Aug 17, 2024
Leading receiver Saturday
Slayton caught all three of his targets for a team-high 59 yards in Saturday's 28-10 preseason loss to the Texans.
ANALYSIS
The speedster quickly reforged his connection with Daniel Jones in the quarterback's first game action since he tore his ACL in Week 9 of last season, hauling in a 44-yard strike in the second quarter that nearly went for a touchdown, although Slayton was ruled down at the one-yard line. The 27-year-old has led the Giants in receiving yards in four of the last five seasons despite never having an 800-yard campaign, and while that honor is expected to pass to rookie Malik Nabers in 2024, Slayton should still have a big role in the team's passing game.
Aug 2, 2024
Limited in practice
Coach Brian Daboll said Friday that Slayton is "tight" and won't be a full practice participant, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton reportedly was limited Thursday, and he previously dealt with an undisclosed injury during June minicamp. It doesn't sound like anything serious, but perhaps the Giants will provide more details if Slayton isn't back at full strength next week.
Jul 25, 2024
Good to go for camp
Slayton (undisclosed) is practicing at the start of training camp, SI's Patricia Traina reports.
ANALYSIS
It seems the injury Slayton suffered during June minicamp wasn't anything serious. He led the Giants in receiving yards four of his first five seasons, but without ever reaching 800 yards in a campaign. While Slayton still projects as a starter, the Giants hope sixth overall pick Malik Nabers will give them a legitimate No. 1 receiver for the first time since Odell Beckham's prime.
Jun 13, 2024
On track for training camp
Coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday he expects Slayton (undisclosed) to be ready for the start of training camp late July, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton suffered an undisclosed injury at Tuesday's minicamp practice, but it doesn't appear the Giants are overly concerned about his health. Slayton is positioned for a starting gig in New York's wide receiver corps, alongside rookie first-round addition Malik Nabers, plus incumbent Wan'Dale Robinson, who should be more effective now that he's another year removed from his ACL tear.
Jun 11, 2024
Leaves practice with injury
Slayton (undisclosed) departed Tuesday's practice at mandatory minicamp early due to an apparent injury, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton appeared to sustain an injury after colliding with a teammate, and he was able to walk off the field under his own power. The 27-year-old remains in position to handle a starting role for the Giants, though rookie phenom Malik Nabers promises to handle the clear No. 1 role, so this offense can scarce afford him to miss real time. With tight end Darren Waller having now officially retired, New York is lacking for depth behind Nabers, Slayton and third-year pro Wan'Dale Robinson. If Slayton is sidelined long, more reps will open up for Jalin Hyatt, Allen Robinson and Isaiah McKenzie.
May 31, 2024
Gets incentives added to contract
Slayton showed up to OTAs this week after the Giants added $650,000 of incentives to his contract, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old is entering the second season of a two-year, $12 million contract, and while he might have been hoping for an extension or additional guaranteed money, it seems he'll settle for the boosted incentives. Slayton has led the Giants in receiving yards in four of his five NFL season, topping 700 yards each time without ever getting to 800. He'll likely be one of the team's top three WRs in 2024, along with sixth overall pick Malik Nabers and slot man Wan'Dale Robinson. Of the three, Slayton is least likely to draw a large number of targets, as he's never seen passes on a large percentage of his routes even when playing a lot of snaps in offenses with subpar receiving alternatives.
May 28, 2024
Participating in OTAs
Slayton (thumb) participated in Tuesday's OTAs practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton is working toward a hopeful contract extension with the Giants, but he's on the field for voluntary workouts at OTAs. The 2019 fifth-round pick still appears slated for a starting gig, though rookie first-rounder Malik Nabers should be the top man in this wide receiver corps, with Jalin Hyatt and Wan'Dale Robinson also in the mix. He appears fully healthy after having dealt with a thumb injury down the stretch in 2023.
May 1, 2024
Likely to remain starter
Slayton is expected to open the season as a starting wideout opposite rookie first-rounder Malik Nabers, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton refused to report to voluntary offseason workouts, as he's entering the final year of a two-year deal and is seeking an extension. The Giants, however, haven't budged, and the team used the sixth overall pick in last week's NFL Draft to take Nabers after using a third-rounder on Jalin Hyatt in 2023. While Slayton is the favorite to open the summer as a starter, the team likely hopes Hyatt can push the veteran for snaps and targets. Nabers should easily pace this team in targets as a rookie.
Apr 17, 2024
Seeking new deal
Slayton (thumb) -- who is reportedly seeking a contract extension -- hasn't reported to the Giants' voluntary workouts, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The report notes that Slayton, who led the team with 770 receiving yards (on 50 catches) in 17-regular season games in 2023, has attended the Giants' voluntary offseason program in the past. The 27-year-old wideout is in line to earn $6.2 million in the final year of his contract with New York this coming season, but evidently Slayton is looking to amend those terms. At this stage, the 2019 fifth-rounder -- who is bouncing back from an offseason procedure on his right thumb -- is poised to retain a key role in a Giants' WR corps that also currently includes Wan'Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt, with further depth likely to arrive via the upcoming NFL draft.
Feb 10, 2024
Undergoes thumb surgery
Slayton said Thursday that he had surgery on his right thumb after the conclusion of the regular season but should be ready to play "by the time it matters," Tom Rock of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton posted to his personal X account Jan. 10 implying that he dealt with a right hand injury throughout the campaign, and it appears that his thumb was the source of the issue. Despite the injury, the fifth-year wideout played in every game for the Giants this season, leading the club with 79 targets (of which he caught 60) and 770 receiving yards while hauling in four touchdowns. If his thumb heals as expected, and depending on what changes the Giants make in the offseason, Slayton could head into the 2024 campaign as the team's No. 1 wideout.
Jan 7, 2024
Hauls in TD against Philly
Slayton caught five of seven targets for 62 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
The wideout tied Wan'Dale Robinson and Darren Waller for the team lead with five grabs each, but Slayton was the only Giants' receiver to get into the end zone, connecting with Tyrod Taylor on a 19-yard score late in the second quarter. Slayton tied his career high with 50 catches in 2023 and set a new personal best with 770 receiving yards, but the Giants could do a lot of housecleaning on the roster in the offseason, and it's not clear if the 26-year-old is part of their future plans.
Dec 31, 2023
Catches 80-yard TD in loss
Slayton caught four of six targets for 106 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Slayton got free for his second long touchdown reception in the last two games, and this one was even longer than his 69-yard score against the Eagles in Week 16. The big play threat had only one touchdown all season prior to this hot stretch, but Slayton will have a nice opportunity to keep the late-season surge going in Week 18, when the Giants face the struggling Eagles defense again.
Dec 25, 2023
Posts best line of season
Slayton recorded three receptions on three targets for 90 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 33-25 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Slayton posted his highest yardage total of the season and continued his upward tick in production since Week 11. The majority of his 90 yards came on a 69-yard touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter on a deep throw down the left sideline from Tyrod Taylor. Overall, Slayton has topped 60 receiving yards in three of his last five games and has shown the ability to produce with both Taylor and Tommy DeVito under center.
Dec 17, 2023
Leading receiver for losing side
Slayton had four receptions on eight targets for 63 yards in Sunday's 24-6 loss to New Orleans.
ANALYSIS
Slayton finished as the Giants' leading receivier on a low-volume passing day, producing modest fantasy results in the process. The 63 yards represented the No. 1 wideout's third highest yardage total through 14 games this season, highlighting how anemic the Giants' offense has been in 2023. Slayton should continue to operate as New York's top receiver against Philadelphia next Monday, but his fantasy appeal remains limited to those in deeper formats.
Dec 12, 2023
Quiet performance in Week 14
Slayton finished Monday's 24-22 win against Green Bay with two catches on two targets for 14 yards.
ANALYSIS
Slayton had his second straight subpar performance as a pass catcher, equaling the number of receptions he hauled in Week 12 against New England and finishing with two fewer yards. The veteran wideout appeared to have a breakout with four catches for 82 yards and a touchdown Week 11 versus Washington, but he hasn't been able to follow that up with significant production. Slayton has been plagued by inconsistency throughout the campaign, so it's hard to trust him in fantasy lineups.

Suits up but held in check Week 12
Slayton (neck) caught two of three targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 10-7 win over the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Slayton surprisingly suited up after being listed as doubtful heading into the game, but his lack of productivity may have been related to the injury that forced him to exit halfway through last week's win over Washington. Slayton scored his first touchdown of the season last week to go with a season-high 82 receiving yards, and he'll look to rekindle his chemistry with quarterback Tommy DeVito in Week 14 against the Packers after getting a chance to heal further during a Week 13 bye.
Nov 26, 2023
Surprisingly active Sunday
Slayton (neck) is active for Sunday's game versus the Patriots, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
A neck injury contained Slayton to a pair of limited practices during Week 12 prep, and the writing seemed to be on the wall for him after coach Brian Daboll said Friday that he didn't expect the wide receiver to play Sunday. A subsequent doubtful designation forecast as much, but Slayton bucked all trends and will be available to the Giants offense this weekend. Through 11 games to date, Slayton has put together a 30-419-1 line on 50 targets while working with three different quarterbacks.
Nov 24, 2023
Listed as doubtful
Slayton (neck) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton returned to practice Thursday after an early exit from Sunday's win over Washington, but it appears he isn't quite healthy enough to play. His likely absence could free up snaps for a number of different wide receivers, including Sterling Shepard, Isaiah Hodgins and Jalin Hyatt. The Giants have a Week 13 bye after Sunday's matchup with New England.
Nov 24, 2023
Practicing Friday
Slayton (neck) is now practicing Friday, after coach Brian Daboll said the wideout wouldn't participate, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton may thus have a chance to play, despite Daboll's previous comments that suggested it was unlikely. Slayton may end up listed as 'questionable' rather than 'doubtful' when the Giants release their final injury report Friday afternoon.
Nov 24, 2023
Not expected to play
Coach Brian Daboll suggested Friday that Slayton (neck) is unlikely to play Sunday against the Patriots, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton returned to a limited practice Thursday but now isn't participating Friday. Daboll expects the wideout to be listed as doubtful on the final injury report.
Nov 23, 2023
Bumps up to limited Thursday
Slayton (neck) is listed as limited on Thursday's injury report, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
After leaving this past Sunday's win at Washington due to an arm injury, Slayton was listed as a non-participant Wednesday due to a neck issue. Fortunately for the wide receiver, he upped his estimated activity level one day later and has one more chance to get back to full before the end of the week, when the Giants may give him a designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Nov 22, 2023
Dealing with neck injury
Slayton -- who isn't practicing Wednesday -- has a neck injury rather than an arm injury, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was ruled out of this past Sunday's win over Washington with what was described as an arm injury after taking a big hit shortly before halftime. The injury has now been clarified as a neck injury. Slayton will have two more opportunities to return to practice before the Giants host the Patriots on Sunday.
Nov 22, 2023
Not practicing Wednesday
Slayton (arm) won't practice Wednesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton now has two more chances to practice ahead of Sunday's contest against the Patriots. If the wideout is unable to play this weekend, Wan'Dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt, Sterling Shepard and Isaiah Hodgins would be in line to lead the Giants' Week 12 wideout corps.
Nov 19, 2023
Won't return Sunday
Slayton has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Commanders with an arm injury, Darryl Slater of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. He recorded four catches for 82 yards and a touchdown on five targets prior to his departure.
ANALYSIS
The Giants initially listed Slayton as questionable to return to the contest after he took a big hit to his right arm on a third-down play on the Giants' final possession of the first half, per Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. He wasn't on the field for the Giants' first drive of the second half, however, and was downgraded to out. The Giants should offer more details on the extent of Slayton's injury in the days to come, but for now, his status will bear watching heading into the team's Week 12 game versus New England.
Nov 13, 2023
Unproductive with rookie QB
Slayton tallied three catches on four targets for 21 yards in a blowout Week 10 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Slayton tied for the team lead in targets and receptions, but that didn't amount to much production on a day when rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito threw for only 86 yards in his first NFL start. Slayton continues to log a healthy snap count every week and leads Giants wideouts in targets and receiving yards on the campaign, though that's amounted to a quiet 26/337/0 line through 10 contests. Daniel Jones (knee) is out for the season, so unless DeVito manages to unexpectedly break out behind New York's porous offensive line, the rest-of-season outlook for Slayton isn't promising.
Nov 5, 2023
Leads team in receiving Sunday
Slayton hauled in four of his seven targets for 59 yards in Sunday's 30-6 loss to Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Slayton finished as the Giants' leading receiver and the only position player other than star tailback Saquon Barkley to crack 50 yards Sunday. A good portion of that production came while playing with Tommy DeVito under center, who took over for starter Daniel Jones after the latter left with a potential major knee injury on the first play of the second quarter. The UDFA quarterback wound up targeting Slayton five times after taking over, which was more than any other receiver over the three quarters of action DeVito was active for. That said, Slayton remains a risky fantasy play while New York attempts to address its dire QB situation against Dallas next Sunday.
Oct 30, 2023
Nets negative yardage in loss
Slayton caught one of two targets for a one-yard loss in Sunday's Week 8 loss to the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Starting QB Tyrod Taylor exited the contest with a rib cage injury in the second quarter and didn't return, resulting in the Giants turning to the ground almost exclusively for the remainder of the game. Though Slayton lost a yard on his lone catch, he was the only Giants wide receiver to haul in a pass in the ugly offensive display -- in fact, Wan'Dale Robinson was the only other wideout to see a target for the G-Men, with running back Saquon Barkley leading the team with five targets and three catches that netted zero yards. Both Taylor and Daniel Jones (neck) are uncertain to be able to suit up Week 9 in Las Vegas, and if the Giants again need to turn to undrafted rookie Tommy DeVito to take the helm behind center, Slayton (and the team's pass-catching corps as a whole) could again struggle to produce. Even if Taylor or Jones is able to play, Slayton doesn't inspire much confidence in fantasy given that he hasn't caught more than four passes or tallied more than 69 yards in any of his seven games so far th
Oct 23, 2023
Makes just one catch Week 7
Slayton caught one of two targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 14-7 victory versus the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Slayton posted season-best marks of four catches and 69 yards against Buffalo in Week 6, but he followed that effort with season-low totals of just one catch and two targets against Washington. His lone reception came near the end of the first quarter, and he was targeted just once after that. Meanwhile, Darren Waller led New York with seven catches, eight targets and 98 yards, and rookie Jalin Hyatt finished second in both targets (five) and receiving yards (75). Waller is the only pass catcher that has established week-to-week fantasy value for the Giants so far this season, and while Slayton ranks second on the team with 258 yards through the air on the campaign, he's yet to find the end zone through seven contests.
Oct 16, 2023
Leads NYG with 69 yards
Slayton caught four of six targets for 69 yards in Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was the Giants' leading receiver Sunday despite finishing third on the team in targets. The veteran wideout has yet to score a touchdown through six games after scoring just twice across 16 games in 2022. Slayton is still entrenched as a starter for the 1-5 Giants, but his fantasy value will continue to be limited unless the entire offensive unit improves its play, starting with a Week 7 matchup against the Commanders next Sunday.
Oct 8, 2023
Another two-catch effort Sunday
Slayton secured two of four targets for 35 yards in the Giants' 31-16 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Slayton unsurprisingly put up a modest stat line in what was another highly underwhelming performance for the Giants' air attack. The veteran speedster has eclipsed Sunday's yardage total only once in his first five games, and unless Daniel Jones (neck) or Tyrod Taylor are able to help the offense find a different gear, Slayton will remain mostly a fantasy afterthought in all but very deep formats.
Oct 2, 2023
Two catches on MNF
Slayton caught two of three targets for 23 yards in Monday's 24-3 loss to the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Slayton tied for third on the team in targets behind Wan'Dale Robinson (six) and Matt Breida (five), but three other players also had three targets. Daniel Jones was sacked 10 times and didn't have enough time to push the ball downfield, thus neutralizing Slayton's ability as a deep threat. Heading into a Week 5 road game against the Dolphins, Slayton has 11 catches for 132 yards on 20 targets, and he's still searching for his first touchdown of the season.
Sep 22, 2023
Leads team with modest yardage
Slayton secured three of six targets for 32 yards in the Giants' 30-12 loss to the 49ers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's yardage total, modest as it was, set the pace for the Giants on the night, and he also tied with Parris Campbell and Darren Waller for the team lead in targets. The veteran speedster also recorded the second-longest catch of the night for New York (17 yards), but like the rest of New York's air attack, he was victimized by Daniel Jones' mediocre play. Slayton has three catches apiece in each of his first three contests, a number he'll look to improve on against a vulnerable Seahawks secondary in a Week 4 home matchup on Monday night, Oct. 2.
Sep 17, 2023
Three grabs in Sunday's win
Slayton caught three of six targets for 62 yards in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
He tied Parris Campbell for the lead in targets among the Giants' wideouts, but rookie Jalin Hyatt produced more receiving yards and Isaiah Hodgins caught more passes, including a TD. Slayton's the only one of that crew who caught multiple passes in New York's opener as well, but the team's crowded depth chart could prevent any one WR from truly breaking out. Slayton and the others will take on a 49ers secondary Thursday night that just got torched for 15 catches and 147 yards by Rams rookie Puka Nacua.
Sep 11, 2023
Gains 15 yards in loss
Slayton had three catches (five targets) for 15 yards in Sunday's 40-0 loss to Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Slayton started for the Giants to kick off the regular season after being held out of most preseason action. That's where the good news ends, as the veteran did little with his five targets Sunday. The Giants looked outmatched against the Cowboys this week, but that is unlikely to be the case against the Cardinals next Sunday, so improved play from the team as a whole can be expected.
Aug 27, 2023
Logs limited work during preseason
Slayton was among the many Giants starters who saw minimal action during the exhibition slate, as he played in one game during which he logged 13 offensive snaps.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's lone game action came in Week 2 of the preseason schedule, which was also the case for a majority of New York's offensive and defensive starters. It's still unclear exactly how the team's wide-receiver room will fall in terms of pecking order, but Slayton is expected to line up with the starters when the regular season kicks off. The 26-year-old recorded 46 catches on 71 targets for 724 yards and two touchdowns over 16 contests last season.
Mar 16, 2023
Staying with Giants
Slayton is re-signing with the Giants on a two-year deal, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports.
ANALYSIS
The deal was announced Thursday evening a few hours after the Giants signed former Colts wide receiver Parris Campbell to a one-year deal. The team lacks a clear standout at the position but has decent depth on paper, though perhaps not so much in practice with both Wan'Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard recovering from ACL tears and Isaiah Hodgins needing to prove he's not a one-year wonder. Slayton could be in the mix for a Week 1 starting job -- depending on the Giants' transactions throughout the rest of the offseason -- following a 2022 campaign in which he posted a 46-724-2 receiving line on 71 targets. Slayton has finished between 724 and 751 receiving yards in three of his four NFL seasons, with 2021 being the exception when he was benched for much of the year and managed only 339 yards.
Jan 22, 2023
Nearly blanked in playoff loss
Slayton brought in one of five targets for four yards in the Giants' 38-7 divisional-round loss to the Eagles on Saturday night.
ANALYSIS
A week after posting an impressive 88 receiving yards in a wild-card win over the Vikings, Slayton was nearly shut out altogether versus the suffocating Eagles defense. The quiet finish aside, Slayton appeared to be a good fit in coach Brian Daboll's offense, posting a solid 46-724-2 line on 71 targets across 16 games while averaging a career-best 15.7 yards per reception. Slayton's speed and the fact he just turned 26 certainly could make him very viable on the open market, which he's slated to hit at the start of the new league year unless the Giants opt to secure his services prior to that.
Jan 15, 2023
Big day in wild-card win
Slayton caught four of eight targets for 88 yards in Sunday's 31-24 wild-card win over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
While it wasn't an efficient performance, Slayton provided the Giants with some big plays, including a 47-yard reception late in the first quarter that helped set up New York's second TD of the game. The 26-year-old wideout emerged as one of Daniel Jones' most trusted targets after barely playing to begin the year, but Slayton faces a tough matchup in the divisional round against an Eagles secondary that held him to two catches in their first meeting during the regular season.
Jan 10, 2023
Plays just three snaps in finale
Slayton was on the field for just three snaps and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 22-16 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Because the Giants were locked into the No. 6 seed in the NFC playoffs heading into Sunday regardless of how other games around the league played out, head coach Brian Daboll elected to rest several key players. Slayton appeared to be among that group, as the Giants didn't reveal that an injury was behind his minimal playing time. Expect Slayton to reclaim a full-time starting role in the Giants' wild-card matchup with the Vikings this Sunday.
Jan 1, 2023
Held in check Week 17
Slayton caught two of three targets for 14 yards and lost a fumble Sunday in a 38-10 win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Slayton entered Week 17 having averaged 68.3 receiving yards in seven contests since New York's Week 9 bye, but he couldn't get much going against Indianapolis. His final catch and target came on the first play of the third quarter, when he hauled in a short reception but coughed up the football to the dismay of a clearly frustrated head coach Brian Daboll. The Giants nonetheless went on to win the game to clinch a playoff berth, and with nothing to gain against Philadelphia in Week 18, it remains to be seen how long (if at all) they'll deploy Slayton and their other starters.
Dec 24, 2022
Strong showing on Christmas Eve
Slayton caught four of six targets for 79 yards in Saturday's 27-24 loss to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
While he was a distant fourth in catches and targets for the Giants, Slayton finished the day just 11 receiving yards behind Richie James for the team lead. Since emerging as a key member of an injury-ravaged receiving corps in Week 5, Slayton has topped 60 yards seven times in 11 games, giving him a solid fantasy floor heading into a Week 17 meeting with the Colts.
Dec 19, 2022
Does little with five catches
Slayton had five receptions (seven targets) for 23 yards in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Slayton led all New York wideouts in targets and receptions, but his production left much to be desired from a fantasy perspective. This was the veteran wideout's worst yardage output since taking over as the Giants' defacto No. 1 wideout back in Week 7. The 25-year-old had been performing well in the elevated role, so fantasy managers who were relying on the receiver in fantasy prior to Sunday's dud shouldn't abandon ship. There is a good chance Slayton can bounce back against Minnesota's 31st-ranked pass defense on Saturday.
Dec 11, 2022
Two grabs in Week 14 loss
Slayton secured two of three targets for 42 yards in the Giants' 48-22 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Slayton finished second in receiving yards behind Richie James and also recorded a team-long 37-yard grab. The speedster's production represented a downturn, as he'd totaled at least 58 receiving yards in each of the previous six contests. Slayton does have a seven-game streak with multiple receptions going into a Week 15 road rematch with the Commanders next Sunday night.
Dec 4, 2022
Team-high receiving yardage in win
Slayton secured six of eight targets for 90 yards in the Giants' 20-20 tie with the Commanders on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Slayton led the Giants in receptions, receiving yards and targets while also recording a game-long 55-yard grab. The speedster has been Daniel Jones' most reliable target in recent weeks as team's wide receiver corps has fallen victim to multiple injuries, as he now has at least 63 receiving yards in five consecutive contests, a sample that now includes a pair of 90-yard tallies. Slayton next takes aim at the tough Eagles secondary in a Week 14 home matchup.
Dec 4, 2022
Playing in Week 13
Slayton (illness) is listed as active Sunday against the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
The Giants held Slayton out of practice Thursday and Friday due to an illness, placing his status for Week 13 in question. Fellow wide receiver Kenny Golladay also came down with an illness Saturday and was added to the team's injury report, while Richie James also had practice limitations this week due to a knee issue. Among those three, only Golladay isn't available to New York's offense Sunday. As for Slayton, he's been the steadiest of the team's wide receivers over the last seven contests, recording at least 50 receiving yards on six occasions while averaging six targets per game.
Dec 4, 2022
Expected to play
Slayton (illness), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders, is expected to be healthy enough to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
He first missed practice Thursday and was held out again Friday. Despite this report, fantasy managers will still want to make sure Slayton isn't listed among the inactives ahead of a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.
Dec 2, 2022
Questionable with illness
Slayton (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Jo notes that most of the nine Giants deemed questionable are likely to play, with Slayton seemingly one of the better bets given that he's dealing with an illness rather than an injury. He first missed practice Thursday and was held out again Friday, so fantasy managers will want to make sure Slayton isn't listed among the inactives ahead of a 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday. Fellow wide receiver Richie James, who has handled most of the slot snaps recently, also is listed as questionable (with a knee injury).
Dec 2, 2022
Still not practicing
Slayton (illness) won't practice Friday, though coach Brian Daboll still hopes the wideout will be able to play Sunday against the Commanders, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old sat out Thursday's practice with an illness and won't be back on the field for Friday's session. Slayton appears headed toward a questionable tag and could be a true game-time decision Sunday against Washington.
Dec 1, 2022
Picks up illness
Slayton didn't practice Thursday due to an illness, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton is making a surprise midweek appearance on the Giants' injury report, making him the second member of the team (running back Gary Brightwell) to come down with an illness this week. While Slayton still has a bit of time to improve ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders, there's a decent chance he's listed as questionable following Thursday's absence. Friday's report may reveal as much.
Nov 24, 2022
Leading receiver in loss
Slayton caught three of six targets for 63 yards in Thursday's 28-20 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Most of his real estate came on a 44-yard grab in the second quarter that set up a one-yard TD plunge by Saquon Barkley, as the Giants' offense was kept mostly in check in the second half. Slayton still led the team in receiving yards on the afternoon as he topped 60 yards for the fourth straight game. The fourth-year wideout remains Daniel Jones' top target heading into a Week 13 clash with the Commanders.
Nov 20, 2022
Racks up 86 yards against DET
Slayton had five receptions on 10 targets for 86 yards in Sunday's 31-18 loss to Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Slayton continued his recent run of strong play with another productive outing despite the losing effort. The 25-year-old is averaging 4.0 receptions and 75.8 yards with two touchdowns over his last four contests. Slayton is a proven wideout who is being asked to lead a depleted receiver room in New York, resulting in consistent fantasy production from a player that might still be available on waiver wires. Fellow starting wideout Wan'Dale Robinson (9/100/0) left the game in the fourth quarter with a knee injury, so Slayton could be in line for even more targets on a short week against the Cowboys on Thursday.
Nov 13, 2022
Breaks loose for 54-yard TD
Slayton caught three of four targets for 95 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
After catching two passes for 41 yards in the first half, Slayton broke a tackle and raced down the sideline for a 54-yard touchdown to give New York a 14-3 third-quarter lead. The Giants went run-heavy while protecting the lead the rest of the way, but this performance is further evidence that Slayton's big-play ability has resurfaced. He has at least 58 yards in four of his past five games and a touchdown in two of the last three. Slayton's eight-touchdown performance as a rookie in 2019 suggests he could have staying power in Week 11 against the Lions and beyond in a Giants offense that lacks playmakers in the passing game.
Oct 30, 2022
Five catches against Seattle
Slayton caught five of six targets for 66 yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
He led the Giants in receptions and receiving yards, but the team's offense as a whole sputtered, particularly after halftime. Slayton has turned his season -- and maybe his career -- around over the last month, hauling in 15 of 22 targets for 221 yards and a touchdown in the last four games heading into New York's Week 9 bye.
Oct 23, 2022
Catches 32-yard TD in win
Slayton caught three of six targets for 58 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-17 win over Jacksonville.
ANALYSIS
Slayton capped the opening drive with a 32-yard touchdown catch but didn't contribute much after that. Struggles with drops have limited the deep threat's effectiveness, but Slayton continues to play a featured role in New York's banged-up receiving corps heading into a Week 8 road game in Seattle.
Oct 17, 2022
Regresses with just one catch
Slayton caught one of three targets for 18 yards in a 24-20 win over Baltimore in Week 6.
ANALYSIS
Slayton looked like he could be on the verge of a breakthrough with a six-catch, 79-yard performance in Week 5, but he fell back to earth with Sunday's quiet showing. Fellow receivers Kenny Golladay (knee) and Kadarius Toney (hamstring) were both inactive for the contest, but it was tight end Daniel Bellinger who led the Giants in both catches and receiving yards. There's too much volatility among New York's pass-catching corps for any player on the unit to have fantasy viability at the moment.
Oct 9, 2022
Emerges for solid game
Slayton recorded six receptions on seven targets for 79 yards in Sunday's 27-22 win over the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Slayton took advantage of a depleted Giants' receiving corps to lead the team in targets, receptions and yards. His longest gain went for 26 yards, which helped push the Giants into field-goal range. Slayton also tallied four additional gains that went for double-digit yards. He entered the game having recorded only one catch across three games, and he is likely to shift to a smaller role once the team's receivers get healthier.
Oct 8, 2022
Could see increased role Sunday
Slayton may be more involved in the Giants' passing game Sunday with all of Kenny Golladay (knee), Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) and Kadarius Toney (hamstring) ruled out for the Week 5 battle in London.
ANALYSIS
Slayton saw his most action of the campaign in Week 4 against Chicago, playing 62 percent of New York's offensive snaps. He didn't do much with the opportunity, however, logging just one catch on two targets for 11 yards. Slayton figures to again spend considerable time on the field in Week 5, as he, David Sills and Richie James are currently the only healthy wideouts on the active roster. Slayton is likely behind the other two on the depth chart, however, and expectations should be tempered given that New York ranks second-to-last in the league in passing yards per game through four weeks. While the Giants received good news Friday with Daniel Jones' (ankle) exclusion from the injury report, it should also be noted that running back Saquon Barkley figures to siphon off much of the limited opportunity in the passing game, as he is tied for the team lead with 15 catches and ranks third with 107 receiving yards.
Oct 3, 2022
Notches first catch of campaign
Slayton hauled in one of two targets for 11 yards in a 20-12 victory versus the Bears on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
After being inactive in Week 1, Slayton suited up in each of the subsequent two weeks but didn't see any targets. He finally got into the action against Chicago, drawing a pass-interference penalty that netted 40 yards in the third quarter, though it wasn't the best look that he dropped what was still a catchable ball. Slayton did haul in a pass for 11 yards in the next period, which incredibly made him the leading gainer among New York's wide receivers in the victory. It's painfully clear that the Giants' passing game is a tumultuous work in progress, so it's not unfeasible that Slayton or any other wideout on the squad could carve out a considerable role with a breakout game, though that may be hard to do next Sunday in London given the possibility that neither Daniel Jones (ankle) nor Tyrod Taylor (concussion) may be able to play.
Sep 18, 2022
Will play Sunday
Slayton is active Sunday against the Panthers, Bob Brookover of NJ.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was inactive in Week 1 as a coach's decision. However, with Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) unable to go, Slayton will now get a chance to play.
Sep 11, 2022
Healthy scratch in Week 1
Slayton (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 1 clash against the Titans, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's inactive status isn't of much surprise considering he just took a pay cut earlier in the week in order to remain on the roster, and the fact all of Sterling Shepard, Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney and rookie Wan'Dale Robinson are healthy in front of him. If the team's receiver corps can avoid the drastic case of the injury bug that befell it last season, Slayton may be in street clothes most weeks for the foreseeable future.
Sep 7, 2022
Accepts paycut
Slayton and the Giants agreed Wednesday to a paycut for the 2022 season that will keep him on the roster heading into the team's Week 1 matchup with the Titans, Tom Rock of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton had been due $2.54 million in the final year of his rookie contract, but his salary will now drop to the league-minimum amount of $965,000 to save the Giants $1.6 million against the cap. According to Rock, Slayton's restructured deal will allow him to earn back some salary if he reaches certain playing-time incentives, but his outlook on that front isn't promising as the Giants' depth chart at receiver currently stands. Slayton looks to be behind all of Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney, Sterling Shepard and Wan'Dale Robinson at receiver, and fellow depth options Richie James and David Sills offer the ability to contribute on special teams. With all that in mind, it wouldn't be surprising if Slayton found himself on the inactive list Sunday in Tennessee.

Should stay on Week 1 roster
Giants GM Joe Schoen said Thursday that the team does not plan to trade Slayton before the season opener against the Titans on Sept. 11, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.
ANALYSIS
Schoen added that the Giants are still "open" to trade possibilities for Slayton after the wideout managed to make the team's 53-man roster to open the regular season. It's likely that the 25-year-old's days in New York are numbered, though he could improve his potential trade value as both a return specialist and receiver during the team's Week 1 matchup against the Titans.

Makes team for now
Slayton, who has been the subject of trade talks in recent days, has made the Giants' initial 53-man roster, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton remains on the team for now, but the Giants could still opt to trade him before the season or even after the campaign begins. "We'll see where we're at right now," coach Brian Daboll said when asked whether he expects Slayton to be on the team come Week 1. "He's done a good job and we're excited to have him.''
Aug 29, 2022
Center of trade talks
Slayton has been a hot name on the trade market this week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton has been locked into a deep wide receiver room with the Giants and could end up being dealt ahead of the team's final roster cutdown. The 25-year-old appears to have fallen out of favor in New York and if he is released or traded, the team would gain $2.54 million in cap space.
Aug 28, 2022
Suits up Sunday
Slayton didn't catch either of his two targets in Sunday's 31-27 preseason loss to the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Slayton suited up after missing New York's second exhibition contest. Despite taking the field, however, he failed to produce. With speculation surrounding Slayton being either cut or traded ahead of Week 1, it'll be interesting to monitor his situation in the coming days.
Aug 28, 2022
On roster bubble
Slayton (undisclosed) could be cut if the Giants aren't able to work out a trade for him, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
After a promising rookie campaign, Slayton was thought to be a big part of New York's future plans. However, he fell back down to earth with a poor sophomore campaign and now finds himself buried on the team's wide-receiver depth chart. Leonard suggests that part of the reason the Giants may part ways with Slayton involves finances -- cutting or trading him would create $2.54 million in cap space -- but there's no escaping the fact that the organization no longer sees him in its long-term plans. Slayton hasn't been able to make any noise in preseason action, either, since he played only five snaps in the opener and missed the second exhibition contest entirely. It remains to be seen if he'll play in Sunday's preseason finale against the Jets.
Aug 19, 2022
Unavailable Sunday
Slayton (undisclosed) won't play in Sunday's preseason game against the Bengals, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was removed from Thursday's preseason opener against the Patriots after he "tightened up," and he'll be kept off the field for the Giants' second preseason matchup. While it seems like the 25-year-old's removal against the Patriots was precautionary, it's not yet clear whether he'll be available for the preseason finale against the Jets on Aug. 28.
Aug 11, 2022
Buried on depth chart
Slayton has worked with the third-team offense during parts of training camp, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Giants' receiving corps is pretty crowded, with rookie Wan'Dale Robinson solidifying a significant role in the offense during camp. That has pushed Slayton further out of the picture after his massively disappointing campaign last year. Sterling Shepard is on the PUP list and Kadarius Toney is possibly dealing with a hamstring injury that may keep him out of Thursday's preseason opener, so Slayton may have a chance to shine and work his way up the depth chart. If he fails to impress, it's possible that he may not make the 53-man roster, per Duggan.
Jul 29, 2022
Working with backups
Slayton has mostly been running with the second-team offense through the first few days of training cap, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The report does note that Slayton has been getting some reps with the starters this summer, after largely working with the backups this spring. Still, it sounds like Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney and second-round pick Wan'Dale Robinson all have been more involved alongside Daniel Jones, not to mention veteran slot man Sterling Shepard (Achilles) hoping to come back from the active/PUP list at some point. Slayton may be resigned to a depth role or trade in the final year of his rookie contract.

Scores TD in season-ending loss
Slayton brought in two of three targets for 29 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' 22-7 loss to Washington on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Slayton returned from a shoulder injury and was at least able to record his first touchdown grab since Week 2, small consolation for an utterly forgettable season for the third-year speedster. Slayton scuffled with both injury and poor quarterback play to post an ugly 26-339-2 line across 13 games, a significant downturn after a solid first pair of pro seasons. Slayton will hope the return to health of Daniel Jones (IR-neck) and a potential new coaching staff will help lead to a much more productive offensive environment in 2022.
Jan 7, 2022
Cleared for Sunday
Slayton (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Washington, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Giants' lack of a passing game remains more of an issue than Slayton's shoulder injury or recent stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list, though it is possible his playing time is affected. The Giants are starting Jake Fromm at quarterback to close out the season.
Jan 6, 2022
Logs limited practice Thursday
Slayton (shoulder/ramp up) was limited at Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Giants placed Slayton (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list last Thursday, which caused him to be unavailable for a Week 17 game in Chicago. Upon his activation Wednesday, he was listed with both a shoulder injury and also the COVID-19 ramp up that has been customary of players returning to the active roster. Ultimately, Friday's practice report may clear up Slayton's status ahead of Sunday's game against Washington.
Jan 5, 2022
Removed from COVID-19 list
Slayton (illness) was removed from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday and listed as a limited participant on the Giants' estimated practice report, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
ANALYSIS
It sets the stage for Slayton to play Sunday against Washington, after missing the Week 17 blowout loss at Chicago. He'll likely be a starter and get plenty of snaps if his conditioning is okay, but there's not much upside for the New York passing game with Jake Fromm likely starting at QB.
Jan 2, 2022
Not cleared for Week 17
Slayton (illness) won't be available for Sunday's game in Chicago after the Giants didn't activate him from the reserve/COVID-19 list prior to Saturday's deadline for week 17 roster moves, Patricia Traina of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Giants elevated wide receiver Alex Bachman from the practice squad as a COVID-19 replacement for Slayton, who tested positive for the virus Wednesday. In addition to Slayton, New York will be without Kadarius Toney (shoulder), Sterling Shepard (Achilles), John Ross (knee) and Collin Johnson (hamstring), leaving the team woefully thin at receiver beyond No. 1 option Kenny Golladay. Bachman, Pharoh Cooper and David Sills will be called upon to fill snaps alongside Golladay.
Dec 30, 2021
Headed for COVID-19 list
The Giants placed Slayton on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Unless he's unvaccinated, Slayton will still have an outside chance of clearing the NFL's COVID-19 return-to-play protocols before Sunday's game against the Bears, though he seems unlikely to do so. On a positive note, the Giants restored John Ross from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, so he could be a candidate to replace Slayton in three-receiver sets alongside Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney (shoulder).
Dec 27, 2021
Catches one pass in loss
Slayton caught one of five targets for seven yards in Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's struggles continued Sunday despite playing on 80 percent of the team's offensive snaps. The Giants offense is downright horrible at the moment, tanking the fantasy value of all New York skill position players. Slayton will look to get back on track against the Bears in Week 17, but fantasy managers should look elsewhere.
Dec 22, 2021
Quiet in loss
Slayton secured two of three targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 21-6 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was minimally involved on a day when the entire Giants offense struggled. The veteran wideout played on 62 percent of New York's offensive snaps, but he couldn't get anything going. Fellow receiver Sterling Shepard suffered a torn Achilles in the contest and will be out for the remainder of the season. This should open up more looks for Slayton, though being a member of the Giants' offense does not inspire much confidence for fantasy purposes. The Giants will square off against the Eagles in Week 16.
Dec 14, 2021
No catches
Slayton failed to haul in any of his three targets Sunday against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Slayton is one of several receivers vying for scraps in a terrible Giants passing offense. It's been a lost year for him.
Dec 8, 2021
Draws seven targets in Week 13 loss
Slayton caught two of his seven targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 20-9 loss to the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Slayton saw his second-largest snap share (80 percent) of the season with fellow wideouts Kadarius Toney (quadriceps/oblique) and Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) sidelined, but he was unable to forge much of a connection with quarterback Mike Glennon, who picked up his first start of the season under center with Daniel Jones (neck) sidelined. Glennon was diagnosed with a concussion Monday, while Jones has yet to be cleared for contact, leaving both quarterback's statuses in flux for a Week 14 game against the Chargers. Jake Fromm would be in line to make his NFL debut if neither Jones nor Glennon is cleared, and that unsettled situation coupled with the potential returns of Toney and Shepard renders Slayton a rather unappealing fantasy option this week.
Nov 28, 2021
Catches three passes
Slayton caught three passes for 40 yards on four targets against Philadelphia on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was efficient with his targets, but it would have been nice to see him draw more in this matchup, especially with teammates Sterling Shepard and Kadarius Toney both out with injuries. While Slayton's speed makes him a dangerous downfield threat, the depth of the Giants' pass catcher rotation and the general struggles of Daniel Jones make it difficult to see the route to mainstream fantasy viability most weeks.
Nov 23, 2021
Loses fumble in loss
Slayton caught four of seven targets for 37 yards but lost a fumble in Monday night's 30-10 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's long gain of 21 yards helped him rank second on the Giants in receiving, even though his fumble on the last play of the first half cancelled some of his production out. The third-year pro has been a frustrating figure this season, and with rookie Kadarius Toney hauling in seven of 12 targets to go with Saquon Barkley's six grabs Monday, Slayton has stiff competition for looks within an inconsistent New York offense.
Nov 9, 2021
No catches
Slayton failed to catch his only target Sunday against the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
The Giants attempted only 20 passes Sunday, and most were shot throws to the running backs and tight ends. Slayton will be in the mix after the bye, but with Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney and Evan Engram healthy, and Sterling Shepard potentially coming back, Slayton's ceiling is modest.
Nov 7, 2021
Set to retain starting role
Slayton is expected to remain in a top-three role at receiver Sunday against the Raiders, joining Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
No. 1 receiver Golladay is back in action after a three-game absence due to a hyperextended knee, but the absence of Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) should create room in the starting lineup for both Toney and Slayton. Though Slayton entered the season ahead of Toney in the pecking order, that may have changed with the rookie having flashed big-play potential in recent weeks. Slayton could thus be a candidate to lose out on some reps if Shepard is ready to go following a Week 10 bye.
Nov 3, 2021
Held catchless in loss
Slayton failed to reel in both of his targets in Monday's 20-17 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was a major disappointment for fantasy managers starting the wideout in what was a plus matchup against Kansas City's porous defense. The 24-year-old played the most snaps of any Giants pass catcher, as he was on the field for 52 of the team's 60 offensive snaps. Slayton will look to get back on track in Week 9 against the Raiders, especially if Kenny Golladay (knee) remains out and Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) can't go.
Oct 24, 2021
Racks up 63 yards
Slayton recorded five receptions on nine targets for 63 yards in Sunday's 25-3 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Slayton led the team in both targets and receiving yards in the absence of Kadarius Toney (ankle), Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Kenny Golladay (knee). Given the game script, the Giants didn't need to push the ball much through the air, which in turn limited the potential for him to turn in a big game. Nevertheless, he recorded four receptions of 15 or more yards to serve as the team's primary threat down the field. Slayton's potential to produce moving forward likely depends on the rest of the Giants' receiving corps heading into a Week 8 matchup against Kansas City.
Oct 24, 2021
Back in action Sunday
Slayton (hamstring) is listed as active Sunday versus the Panthers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Sidelined since Week 3 due to a hamstring issue, Slayton is back in the lineup at an opportune time, with all of Saquon Barkley (ankle), Kenny Golladay (knee), Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Kadarius Toney (ankle) all out of commission. With that quartet in street clothes, Slayton will be the Giants' leading wide receiver, while Dante Pettis, John Ross (hamstring), Collin Johnson and David Sills fill in behind him.
Oct 22, 2021
Expects to play Sunday
Slayton (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, expects to play, Jordan Ranaan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though he's missed the Giants' last three games and will take a designation into the weekend, Slayton told Ranaan that he felt good after practicing on a limited basis Friday for the third consecutive day. Citing a source, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, also relays that the Giants are planning on having Slayton back for the Week 7 contest, and he could immediately find himself filling a high-volume role in the New York passing attack if he suits up. New York will be without three key pass catchers in Kenny Golladay (knee), Saquon Barkley (ankle) and Kadarius Toney (ankle), while three more in Sterling Shepard (hamstring), John Ross (hamstring) and Evan Engram (calf) are listed as questionable.
Oct 22, 2021
Officially listed as questionable
Slayton (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Zack Rosenblatt of NJ Advance Media reports.
ANALYSIS
This questionable designation comes as no surprise considering Slayton's expected to be a game-time decision. If he suits up, Slayton will be on the field for the first time since hurting his hamstring in Week 3. Health permitting, Slayton will immediately take on a prominent role in a Giants receiving corps that will be without both Kadarius Toney (ankle) and Kenny Golladay (knee).
Oct 22, 2021
Could be game-time call
Slayton (hamstring) is participating at Friday's practice and could be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Panthers, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton will practice in some capacity for the third straight day, but he'll be stuck with the questionable tag for Week 7. If available, the 24-year-old would likely operate as New York's No. 2 wideout with Kenny Golladay (knee) and Kadarius Toney (ankle) trending in the wrong direction for this weekend.
Oct 21, 2021
Remains limited in practice
Slayton (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton has now been limited in five consecutive practices, but since he's missed each of the Giants' last three games he may need to log a full session Friday to avoid carrying a designation into Sunday's game against the Panthers. Despite having not played Week 3, Slayton may be one of the Giants' healthier pass catchers at the moment. Sterling Shepard (hamstring), John Ross (hamstring) and Kaden Smith (knee) joined Slayton as limited participants at Thursday's practice, while Kenny Golladay (knee), Kadarius Toney (ankle), Evan Engram (calf) and Saquon Barkley (ankle) were non-participants.
Oct 20, 2021
Logs limited showing Wednesday
Slayton (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton has missed three straight games due to a hamstring injury, but getting back on the field was something a few of his fellow wide receivers were unable to do Wednesday. In particular, Kenny Golladay (knee), Kadarius Toney (ankle) and even John Ross (hamstring) didn't practice, leaving Slayton, Sterling Shepard, Dante Pettis and Collin Johnson as the healthy WRs on the Giants roster.
Oct 17, 2021
Missing third straight
Slayton (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Rams, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton took a questionable designation into the weekend after he was a limited participant in practices Wednesday through Friday, but he ultimately didn't make enough progress to avoid a third straight absence. With Kenny Golladay (knee) also inactive for Week 6, Sterling Shepard and Kadarius Toney should be locked into full-time starting roles, with the likes of Collin Johnson, C.J. Board and John Ross expected to rotate in alongside them in three-receiver sets.
Oct 17, 2021
Looks like game-time call
Slayton (hamstring), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, will go through a pregame workout before the Giants determine his status, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Final word on Slayton's status should arrive around 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, when the Giants will reveal their inactive list. The Giants are already missing top wideout Kenny Golladay (knee) for the Week 6 contest, while Slayton's availability appears to be less locked in than rookie Kadarius Toney's (ankle), who is listed as questionable but expected to play. Slayton has missed the Giants' past two games with the hamstring injury.
Oct 15, 2021
Appears truly questionable
Slayton (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Duggan suggests Slayton, LT Andrew Thomas (foot) and LG Ben Bredeson (hand) are truly questionable, whereas WR Kadarius Toney (Q/ankle) has the official designation but is expected to play. Slayton missed the past two games with hamstring injuries, in which time Kenny Golladay hyperextended his knee and Toney nearly had a 200-yard game. It makes for an interesting situation moving forward, but Toney and Sterling Shepard are safer bets than Slayton to see targets this week, especially now that the Giants also have John Ross as a deep threat outside the numbers.
Oct 14, 2021
Another limited practice
Slayton (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The same can be said for Sterling Shepard as both wide receivers attempt to end their absences at two games. On a positive note, the Giants are optimistic about the ability of Shepard and Slayton to do so, as coach Joe Judge told Dan Salomone of the team's official site earlier Thursday. New York is expected to be without top wide receiver Kenny Golladay (knee) for at least Sunday's contest versus the Rams, so Slayton could have an elevated profile in the passing game if he's active this weekend.
Oct 13, 2021
Back to limited practice
Slayton (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The same can be said for Sterling Shepard, who, like Slayton, missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury of his own. Shepard and Slayton were joined by rookie Kadarius Toney (ankle) as limited, too, while No. 1 wide receiver Kenny Golladay is expected to sit out at least one contest due to a hyperextended knee. If Slayton does enough to be able to play Sunday versus the Rams, he could be one of the top candidates among Giants skill-position players for targets.
Oct 8, 2021
Out again
Slayton (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The same goes for Sterling Shepard, whose absence has freed up slot work for first-round pick Kadarius Toney. Slayton's missing perimeter snaps have mostly gone to a mix of John Ross, Collin Johnson and C.J. Board, with Ross coming on strong last week to put up 3-78-1 in his first game back from IR. In any case, Slayton and Shepard will shoot for a Week 6 return against the Rams.
Oct 7, 2021
Takes no practice reps Thursday
New York listed Slayton (hamstring) as a non-participant in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Both Slayton and Sterling Shepard (hamstring) were withheld from team drills for the second straight day and fifth consecutive practice overall, a discouraging sign for either receiver's chances of playing Sunday in Dallas. According to Tom Rock of Newsday, Shepard appeared to be further along in his recovery from the injury based on how he fared while taking part in individual drills on the side during the open portion of Thursday's practice, though Slayton seemingly took a step forward by donning full pads for his workout, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Even so, Slayton will likely need to upgrade to at least limited activity in team drills during Friday's practice if he's to have a legitimate chance at avoiding a second straight missed game Sunday in Dallas.
Oct 6, 2021
Misses practice, but progressing
Slayton (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton and Sterling Shepard, both dealing with hamstring injuries, were at least able to do side-field work during Wednesday's practice, perhaps taking a step forward. Still, they're in danger of missing a second straight game Sunday against the Cowboys, potentially giving Kadarius Toney and John Ross another shot to strut their stuff in top-three roles.
Oct 1, 2021
Ruled out for Week 4
Slayton (hamstring) won't play in Sunday's game against the Saints, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
This news is hardly surprising considering Slayton was unable to practice throughout the week, and the same goes for Sterling Shepard, who will sit out due to a hamstring injury of his own. Down two of their top three wide receivers ahead of a daunting matchup with a stingy Saints defense, the Giants will have their work cut out for them as they try to pick up their first win of the season on the road in Week 4.
Oct 1, 2021
Unlikely to play
Slayton (hamstring) appears unlikely to play in Sunday's game at New Orleans after missing another practice Friday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The same goes for fellow Giants WR Sterling Shepard, who also left last week's game with a hamstring injury. The team is left with Kenny Golladay as its far-and-away No. 1 receiver, backed by some combination of Kadarius Toney, Collin Johnson, C.J. Board and maybe John Ross (IR - hamstring).
Sep 30, 2021
Not practicing again
Slayton (hamstring) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger, both Slayton and Sterling Shepard (hamstring) were at the Giants' practice facility Thursday, but head coach Joe Judge suggested that both wideouts would merely work with trainers behind the scenes. With neither receiver having taken any reps through the first two practices of the week, both appear to be trending in the wrong direction for Sunday's game in New Orleans. If Slayton is in fact sidelined this weekend, Collin Johnson and C.J. Board look like the main candidates to replace him at the boundary receiver spot opposite Kenny Golladay, though the Giants could also bring back John Ross (hamstring) from injured reserve in advance of the contest.
Sep 29, 2021
Not practicing to begin week
Slayton (hamstring) wasn't present for Wednesday's practice, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
The Giants are beginning Week 4 prep with a walk-through session, but neither Slayton nor fellow wideout Sterling Shepard (hamstring) were in attendance for the workout, which doesn't portend well for their availability Sunday against the Saints. New York may wait and see what Slayton and Shepard are able to do on the field in the next two days before ruling on their statuses for the weekend more definitively, but if both are sidelined, rookie first-round pick Kadarius Toney would likely step in as the preferred option in the slot. Meanwhile, Collin Johnson and C.J. Board would see more opportunities at the outside receiver spot opposite No. 1 wideout Kenny Golladay.
Sep 26, 2021
Exits game with hamstring injury
Slayton was forced out of Sunday's game against the Falcons in the first quarter with a hamstring injury, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
ANALYSIS
With Slayton having been declared done for the day, he'll finish up with one catch for eight yards. In his absence, Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard will continue to head the Giants' Week 3 WR corps versus Atlanta.
Sep 17, 2021
Finds end zone in loss
Slayton secured three of six targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' 30-29 loss to Washington on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
While his reception and receiving yardage tallies were nothing to write home about, Slayton turned a pedestrian fantasy effort into a solid one with a 33-yard scoring grab in the latter portion of the third quarter. The third-year speedster has been used frequently downfield through the first two games, as his 19.8 yards per reception thus far will attest. He'll look to continue adding to his collection of chunk gains in a favorable Week 3 home matchup against the Falcons a week from Sunday.
Sep 13, 2021
Shows chops as deep threat Sunday
Slayton caught three of seven targets for 65 yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
The third-year receiver did most of his damage on the Giants' opening drive, hauling in a 42-yard pass from Daniel Jones, but Slayton was mostly quiet after that. Sterling Shepard was Jones' primary option in this one, with Kenny Golladay posting similar numbers to Slayton, and 2021 first-round pick Kadarius Toney should also factor into the mix eventually after a shaky NFL debut. That will likely leave Slayton dependent on big plays for his production, but big plays could be hard to come by in Week 2 as the Giants head to Washington for a Thursday night tilt.
Sep 10, 2021
To be No. 3 WR on Sunday
Slayton will serve as the Giants' No. 3 wide receiver Sunday versus the Broncos with Kenny Golladay (hamstring) cleared to play.
ANALYSIS
Most of the Giants' receiving corps tended to injuries during Week 1 prep, including WRs Golladay and Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and TEs Evan Engram (calf), Kyle Rudolph (foot) and Kaden Smith (knee). However all of them but Engram will be available Sunday, ensuring Slayton will be in his customary third receiver role. Through two pro campaigns, Slayton has averaged six targets per game, which has resulted in 98 catches, 1,491 yards and 11 touchdowns in 30 appearances.
Sep 8, 2021
Avoids injury report
Slayton (ankle) wasn't listed on the Giants' injury report Wednesday, per Dan Salomone of the team's official site.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was in and out of the Giants' preseason finale due to a left ankle or foot injury, but he and Sterling Shepard now appear to be the healthiest members of the receiving corps. WRs Kenny Golladay (hamstring) and Kadarius Toney (undisclosed) and TEs Kyle Rudolph (foot) and Kaden Smith (knee) were all limited participants Wednesday, while top tight end Evan Engram (calf) didn't practice at all. Depending on who's available Sunday versus the Broncos, Slayton could be headed for a bigger workload than normal.
Aug 30, 2021
Should do some work this week
Slayton (ankle) will do some work on the field this week, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton limped to the sideline and had his left ankle taped during the first half of Sunday's preseason loss to the Patriots. He was deemed questionable to return and never made it back, with the Giants saying afterward that the wideout would be evaluated Monday. It seems Slayton avoided a serious injury, but the Giants may still be a bit nervous given their other injury woes at wide receiver. Kenny Golladay (hamstring), Kadarius Toney (undisclosed) and John Ross (hamstring) all have been missing practice of late, leaving oft-injured Sterling Shepard as the only guy who has enjoyed a healthy summer. It does seem all of them, including Slayton, have a shot to be ready for Week 1 against Denver.
Aug 29, 2021
Checkup scheduled for Monday
Coach Joe Judge said Slayton (ankle/foot) will be evaluated by the Giants' medical staff Monday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton limped to the sideline and had his left ankle taped during the first half of Sunday's preseason loss to the Patriots. Eventually, he was deemed questionable to return and then ruled out entirely, finishing the contest with one catch (on two targets) for six yards and a seven-yard carry. Judge relayed Slayton is "optimistic" about his injury, but Monday's checkup may provide more clarity about the wide receiver's health.
Aug 29, 2021
Questionable to return Sunday
Slayton suffered an ankle or foot injury during Sunday's preseason contest versus the Patriots, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton had his left foot taped up during the first half of this game but was able to return. Now that he's questionable to get back on the field, though, he likely will end his day with one catch (on two targets) for six yards and one carry for seven yards. Because Slayton is the second key skill player to suffer an injury Sunday -- Evan Engram was ruled out with a calf issue -- the third-year wide receiver isn't a prime candidate to see action again until Week 1 against the Broncos.
Aug 22, 2021
To play in preseason finale
Slayton is expected to play at least the first half of next Sunday's preseason finale versus the Patriots, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton logged 13 snaps on offense in preseason Week 1 against the Jets, which resulted in one catch (on three targets) for eight yards. After joint practices with the Browns this past week, coach Joe Judge held out the starters this Sunday in Cleveland. With the Giants' dress rehearsal for the regular season in the near future, Slayton will be one of the key skill-position players for Daniel Jones alongside Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram, assuming Saquon Barkley (knee) and Kenny Golladay (hamstring) don't receive clearance to suit up.
Apr 30, 2021
Gets target competition in Round 1
The Giants took Kadarius Toney with the 20th overall pick Thursday night, making for a more crowded receiving corps.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was already getting squeezed by the Kenny Golladay signing, and now he has another ostensibly prominent receiver with whom to compete. Sterling Shepard and tight end Evan Engram are around, too, and tailback Saquon Barkley will see looks out of the backfield, making it hard to see Slayton increasing his target share this year.
Jan 11, 2021
Modest Year 2
After a promising rookie season, Slayton put up a modest 96-50-751-3 line in 16 games.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's yards per target dropped from 8.8 in 2019 to 7.8 in 2020, and he made fewer big plays despite an extra 12 targets. He also dropped five passes after not dropping a single one as a rookie. Slayton is still the Giants' best deep threat, and he should be more productive if the offensive line gives Daniel Jones -- or whoever is under center in 2021 -- more time to look down the field.
Dec 28, 2020
Inefficient with eight targets
Slayton caught two of eight targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 27-13 loss to the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Slayton finished with at least seven targets for the ninth time this season, but he recorded a measly 3.25 yards per target in this contest as he and Daniel Jones failed to connect on a consistent basis. He'll look to finish the season strong next week against the Cowboys, whom he put up an 8-129-0 line against in Week 5.
Dec 21, 2020
Leads team in receiving
Slayton had four receptions (nine targets) for 74 yards in Sunday's 20-6 loss to the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Slayton continues to lead the Giants in targets despite the recent return of Sterling Shepard. The 2019 fifth-round gem has seen his production come to a screeching halt after a solid start to his sophomore campaign due to the recent drop-off in quarterback play. Colt McCoy is a decent veteran backup, but he lacks physical skills and is not going to light up the stat sheet. Despite generating his first relevant fantasy line in recent weeks, Slayton is going to need Daniel Jones (hamstring) to return in order to boost his fantasy stock next week against the Ravens.
Dec 13, 2020
Team-high eight targets in Week 14
Slayton caught three of eight targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 26-7 loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was the most frequent target for quarterback Daniel Jones, as no other Giant had more than five passes thrown his way. Despite all that volume, Slayton finished third on the team in receiving yards. This was a step in the right direction after Slayton caught just one pass for 14 yards over the previous two games, and the explosive receiver will look to build on this effort in Week 15 against the Browns.
Dec 7, 2020
Dismal production against Seattle
Slayton caught his lone target for 14 yards in Sunday's 17-12 win over the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
The Giants' defense won this game for the team, as quarterback Colt McCoy couldn't get anything going Sunday and finished with just 105 passing yards. Golden Tate and Evan Engram were the only pass catchers to record more than one reception, and neither player surpassed 32 receiving yards. Slayton thrives off the deep ball, and there's no recent evidence that McCoy can make those throws. It should be a favorable Week 14 matchup against the Cardinals, and Daniel Jones (hamstring) could be back in time to boost Slayton's ceiling.
Dec 4, 2020
Cleared for Week 13
Slayton (shoulder/foot) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton and Sterling Shepard (toe/shoulder) were both limited in practices Wednesday through Friday while they battled a pair of injuries apiece, but neither wideout will end up taking a designation into the weekend. With that in mind, Slayton looks poised to play a normal allotment of snaps, but the second-year player has been a risky fantasy option this season, turning in three games with 90-plus yards and three with 25 yards or fewer. Moreover, Colt McCoy is expected to step in at quarterback in place of Daniel Jones (hamstring) -- who is listed as doubtful -- adding another variable for Slayton's fantasy managers to take into account this week.
Dec 3, 2020
Gets in limited practice
Slayton (shoulder/foot) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton has yet to log a full session this week as he deals with shoulder and foot injuries. Still, there's been no indication that his status is threatened for Sunday's contest at Seattle, which may be confirmed as soon as the release of Friday's practice report.
Dec 2, 2020
Gets 'limited' tag Wednesday
Slayton (shoulder/foot) was limited at Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton is listed with the two injuries that he's tended to at times this season, meaning the cap on his reps may be maintenance-related. Despite logging a significant snap count in most games this season, his production has been sporadic, with just two outings of 50-plus yards over the last six games and just one TD in 10 appearances since Week 1.
Dec 1, 2020
No catches in win over Bengals
Slayton failed to haul in either of his targets Sunday against the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Daniel Jones (hamstring) narrowly missed Slayton on a deep throw just off his fingertips that might have gone for a touchdown had he hung on. Once Jones got hurt, there was little chance for Slayton to make an impact playing with backup Colt McCoy. Slayton has a great matchup Week 13 in Seattle, but if Jones can't go, Slayton makes for a risky start with McCoy under center.
Nov 15, 2020
Provides big plays
Slayton recorded five receptions on seven targets for 93 yards in Week 10 against the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Slayton made an immediate impact for the Giants, recording a 22-yard reception on the second play of the game. He was then forced off the field due to a shoulder injury, returned to provide explosive gains of 16 and 40 yards to help clinch a victory in the fourth quarter. Slayton now has eight receptions of greater than 20 yards and two for 40 or more yards on the season. Even with the splash play ability, Slayton has been a boom or bust option, surpassing 90 yards in three contests but less than 50 in five games. The Giants have a bye in Week 11, but Slayton will look to build on this effort in Week 12 against the Bengals.
Nov 15, 2020
Returns to action
Slayton, who had been forced out of Sunday's game against the Eagles due to a shoulder injury, was able to return to the contest, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton thus rejoins the Giants' Week 10 wide receiver corps, which also includes Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate and Austin Mack.
Nov 15, 2020
Hurts shoulder Sunday
Slayton left Sunday's game versus the Eagles due to a shoulder injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After landing on his left arm at the end of a 22-yard catch on the first drive of the contest, Slayton went to the sideline and soon after to the locker room. He was deemed questionable to return, but in the meantime, Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate and Evan Engram will be the Giants' primary pass catchers.
Nov 15, 2020
Leaves Sunday's game
Slayton (undisclosed) went to the locker room during the first possession of Sunday's game against the Eagles, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton landed on his left arm while making a 22-yard catch and immediately left the field. The nature and extent of the injury are unknown, but Stapleton implied Slayton may be getting X-rays.
Nov 9, 2020
Bottoms out against Washington
Slayton caught his lone target for six yards and added a two-yard carry in Sunday's 23-20 win over Washington.
ANALYSIS
Perhaps with Golden Tate (coach's decision) benched, Washington was able to key in on shutting down Slayton, allowing Daniel Jones to target 10 other pass catchers. Nevertheless, it's disappointing that the second-year wide receiver finished with season lows in receptions, receiving yards and targets. Slayton always has big-play potential and could be the best wideout on the team, but he's otherwise a replacement-level fantasy asset, averaging 2.7 receptions and 27 receiving yards in games where he doesn't score a touchdown.
Nov 3, 2020
Catches five passes
Slayton caught five of nine targets for 56 yards in Monday night's 25-23 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Slayton made a great fourth-down reception to extend New York's final offensive drive, but his night was otherwise marred by failed deep connections with Daniel Jones. The speedster never got on the same page as his quarterback, missing a few big-play opportunities in the process. Despite those disappointments, Slayton still trailed only Sterling Shepard in receptions while nearly hitting double-digits in targets. That involvement bodes well ahead of Week 9's matchup against Washington.
Oct 23, 2020
Quiet in loss to Eagles
Slayton caught two of four targets for 23 yards Thursday in the Giants' 22-21 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Slayton's practice activity heading into the contest was limited to due a foot issue, but being shadowed by top Eagles corner Darius Slay for most of the night likely hindered the wideout's production more than the injury. In addition, the return of Sterling Shepard (toe) from a four-game layoff left fewer looks available for Slayton, who had averaged 7.2 targets per game during that former's absence. Slayton's fantasy outlook won't be any rosier in the Giants' next game on Nov. 2, when he'll be facing off against a Buccaneers defense that has graded out as the NFL's toughest versus receivers this season, per Pro Football Focus.
Oct 21, 2020
Ready for Thursday
Slayton (foot) doesn't have a designation for Thursday's game at Philadelphia, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
For the second week in a row, Slayton's practice reps were capped due to a foot injury, but it won't impact his ability to suit up for game day. Facing Washington this past Sunday, he managed a typical workload (83 percent of the snaps on offense) while totaling two catches (on four targets) for 41 yards and one TD.
Oct 20, 2020
Limited again Tuesday
Slayton (foot) was listed as limited on Tuesday's practice estimate, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton maintained his listing in the first two days of the week, but the Giants actually held a walkthrough Tuesday, which may indicate the second-year wideout is attempting to gut out a foot injury. He played through the concern this past Sunday against Washington, tallying a season-low two catches for 41 yards. Fortunately for Slayton, he salvaged his stat line with a 23-yard TD. He'll attempt to bump from LP to FP on Wednesday, at which point the Giants will give an indication of his availability for Thursday's game in Philadelphia.
Oct 19, 2020
Listed as limited participant
Slayton (foot) is listed as limited on Monday's estimated injury report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was officially listed as questionable for Sunday's win over Washington, but he managed to play through his foot injury while corralling two of four targets for 41 yards and a score. The second-year pro did see his lowest snap share (83 percent) and target of the season, so it's clear that the foot issue limited him, which makes it encouraging to see the Giants expect he would've practiced to begin the week. Slayton will work to upgrade to full practice activity ahead of Thursday's contest in Philadelphia.
Oct 18, 2020
Gets into end zone Week 6
Slayton brought in two of four targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' 20-19 win over the Washington Football Team on Sunday. He also lost three yards on his sole rush.
ANALYSIS
Slayton looked like he might be headed to a bigger day when he notched a 23-yard scoring grab in the left corner of the end zone late in the first quarter. However, the second-year speedster ultimately logged his lowest target count of the season, which led to his second-fewest receiving yards of the campaign. The Auburn product's visit to the end zone was his first since Week 1, and he'll look to repeat the feat at the expense of the Eagles in a Thursday night Week 7 battle.
Oct 18, 2020
Suiting up Sunday
Slayton (foot) is listed as active Sunday against Washington, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
After a week in which he was listed as limited on every practice report due to a foot injury, Slayton is upholding coach Joe Judge's expectation from Friday that the second-year wide receiver will play Week 6. On the season, Slayton has taken full advantage of his 40 targets through five games, putting up a respectable 23-365-2 line. He'll look to add to it versus a Washington defense that has allowed 8.95 YPT (12th-most in the NFL) to wide receivers in 2020.
Oct 16, 2020
Listed as questionable, should play
Slayton (foot) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Washington, but he's expected to play, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Joe Judge said Friday that Slayton that should be able to suit up. The second-year pro has emerged as the focal point of a struggling passing game, leading the team in every relevant receiving stat while accounting for 23.4 percent of the targets. Fantasy managers would be wise to check back for confirmation of Slayton's availability when the Giants release their inactive list approximately 90 minutes before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday.
Oct 15, 2020
Remains limited
Slayton was a limited participant at Thursday's practice, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
The Giants held a more traditional practice session Thursday after staging a walk-through Wednesday, but Slayton wasn't able to take a step up in terms of his listed activity. He'll attempt to turn in a full practice Friday, which would assuage any concerns about his status heading into Sunday's game against Washington.
Oct 14, 2020
Limited by foot issue
Slayton (foot) was limited at Wednesday's walkthrough practice, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
On the heels of an 8-129-0 performance at Dallas this past Sunday, Slayton is tending to a foot injury of unknown severity. Fortunately for the second-year wide receiver, he was able to participate in some capacity to kick off Week 6 prep, and he'll now have two more days to elevate to full participation.
Oct 11, 2020
Big day in loss to Dallas
Slayton caught eight of 11 targets for 129 yards in Sunday's 37-34 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
The second-year receiver was, by far, Daniel Jones' favorite option on the afternoon, as no other Giant saw more than five targets or hauled in more than 42 receiving yards. Slayton's had to make do with yardage rather than scores lately, however -- Jones only has two passing TDs on the year so far, and Slayton caught them both back in the Giants' opener. The duo will look to hook up in the end zone again next week at home against Washington.
Oct 4, 2020
Leading receiver against Rams
Slayton caught three of seven targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 17-9 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Despite the modest numbers, Slayton was the Giants' leading receiver on the afternoon, and only tight end Evan Engram saw more targets from Daniel Jones. Slayton has produced nearly identical numbers the last three games after his huge performance in the opener, but he could be in line for a rebound in Week 5 against a Cowboys defense that just surrendered 49 points to the Browns.
Sep 27, 2020
Leads pass catchers in loss
Slayton brought in three of seven targets for 53 yards and lost a fumble in the Giants' 36-9 loss to the 49ers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Slayton paced the Giants in receiving yards on the afternoon, although given the pedestrian performance of the offense as a whole, that wasn't much of an auspicious accomplishment. The second-year speedster also fumbled on the 49er's 19-yard line after a 22-yard reception just after the two-minute warning in the second half, but New York was naturally completely out of the game by that point. Despite the underwhelming fantasy day Sunday, Slayton still figures to seen an uptick in opportunity in coming weeks while Sterling Shepard (toe) remains sidelined. He'll look to up his production at the expense of the Rams in a Week 4 road battle.
Sep 20, 2020
Musters up 33 yards
Slayton hauled in three of five targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was outstanding in Week 1 with a 6-101-2 line, but he registered a floor game in Week 2, as the Giants struggled to generate much offense. The 2019 fifth-round pick is a boom-or-bust player by nature of his deep targets, but it is a bit concerning that he only received two targets before the Giants' final drive. He'll look for a correction next week when the 49ers come to town.
Sep 14, 2020
Bright spot in defeat
Slayton caught six of nine targets for 102 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 26-16 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Slayton offered a silver lining to an otherwise underwhelming performance from the Giants, as he continued to show great chemistry with quarterback Daniel Jones. The second-year players first connected on a 41-yard touchdown to start the second quarter, then finished the game with a seven-yard score in the fourth. Overall, Slayton led New York in all major receiving categories and looked like the team's best perimeter option. After nearly 50 catches, 750 yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie, the big-play Slayton is certainly one to watch as he grows with Jones in Year 2.
Aug 25, 2020
Back at practice Tuesday
Slayton (undisclosed) returned to practice Tuesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton didn't participate in Monday's session, after which coach Joe Judge said that "trainers are dealing with him," per Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger. Now back in action, Slayton can continue building toward his second season after putting up a 48-740-8 line on 84 targets as a rookie in 2019.
Aug 24, 2020
Doesn't practice Monday
Though Slayton (undisclosed) didn't practice Monday, he was spotted working with trainers toward the end of the session, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
ANALYSIS
When asked about Slayton, coach Joe Judge replied that "trainers are dealing with him" and that more information regarding the wideout's status will be made available at a later time. Until further details are provided, we'll consider Slayton day-to-day.

Enjoying healthy offseason
Slayton said he feels healthy this offseason, after battling a nagging hamstring injury during his rookie campaign, NJ.com's Zack Rosenblatt reports.
ANALYSIS
The hamstring ailment sidelined Slayton for Weeks 1 and 2 but didn't seem to affect him thereafter. He quickly emerged as a downfield weapon in a part-time role, earning a starting job and heavy snap counts by mid-October. The fifth-round pick ultimately averaged 50.1 snaps and 6.0 targets over 14 games, despite making an early exit from Week 16 with a minor knee injury. Slayton rejoined the lineup Week 17 and finished the year as Big Blue's leader in receiving yards (740) and touchdowns (eight). He's met with Daniel Jones on multiple occasions this offseason, hoping to improve the chemistry as both players prepare for their second pro season.
Dec 27, 2019
Ready for Week 17
Slayton (knee) doesn't carry an injury designation and should be ready for his normal workload Sunday against the Eagles, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton was limited to two targets and 29 percent of offensive snaps in last week's 41-35 win over Washington, missing a large chunk of the game after he hurt his knee in the first half. He did make sporadic appearances thereafter, and he was able to practice on a limited basis both Wednesday and Thursday. While it's possible the Giants monitor Slayton's workload, it sounds like he'll open the game with his usual spot in three-wide sets alongside Sterling Shepard and Golden Tate. The rookie enjoyed his best game of the season Week 14 at Philadelphia, catching five of eight targets for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Dec 26, 2019
Limited again Thursday
Slayton (knee) was limited at Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Slayton missed some action this past Sunday at Washington, resulting in a season-low 29-percent share of the offensive snaps. Held without a catch on his two targets for the first time in his brief career, he's so far logged limited showings on both Week 17 practice reports due to a knee injury. Friday's report will give a sense of his availability for Sunday's season finale against the Eagles.
Dec 25, 2019
Limited on estimated report
Slayton was listed as a limited participant Wednesday on the Giants' estimated practice report with a knee injury, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Giants didn't hold a practice Christmas Day, but Slayton's inclusion on the injury report implies that he may be banged up coming out of the Week 16 overtime win over the Redskins. He'll have two more days to upgrade to full participation in advance of the Giants' season finale Sunday versus the Eagles.
