Davis continues to be productive in his 12th season in the NFL and is leading the Saints' defense in total tackles (65) and second in sacks (three) through nine games this season.

Davis was limited at practice due to the knee issue this week but is good to go for Sunday's contest. His 13 tackles (six) set a season high and are his highest total since Week 14 of the 2020 campaign.

Davis has been sidelined with a calf injury since Aug. 7. He returned to practice in a limited basis last week before participating in 11-on-11 drills Tuesday. The veteran middle linebacker has been a consistent presence for the Saints over the previous five years.

Davis notched just the third interception of his 11-year career, as he drifted back into coverage off of the line of scrimmage to pluck a pass out of the air from quarterback Tom Brady. The All-Pro middle linebacker also pushed wide receiver Chris Godwin out of the end zone on the Buccaneers' second-to-last passing attempt of the game, marking his fifth pass defended of the season. While these contributions were not enough to keep the Saints from dropping this game in the waning seconds, they underly Davis' overall value to this defense. Davis will also have four more regular-season games to eclipse 100 tackles for the sixth year in a row.

The 33-year-old linebacker continues to produce at a high level despite playing every defensive snap for New Orleans this season, and he'll look to post another strong outing Thursday night in Arizona.

Davis sacked Baker Mayfield on the third play of the game for a three-yard loss, marking the linebacker's first sack of the season. Davis has finished with at least 90 tackles and multiple sacks in eight straight seasons with three different teams and will look to continue that streak in 2022.

Davis and the Saints agreed on a contract restructure that will keep the linebacker signed through the 2024 campaign, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Davis' base salary will drop slightly in 2023, but he'll still be eligible for hefty incentives during each season remaining on his new three-year deal. Last year, the veteran linebacker earned second-team All-Pro honors after registering his fifth straight season with more than 100 tackles and will likely continue being the leader of the Saints' defense moving forward.

Davis put together yet another remarkable campaign en route to earning second-team All-Pro honors for the second straight time since earning first-team honors in 2019. Despite missing one game due to COVID protocols, the veteran ultimately topped the century mark for the fifth consecutive season while remaining active in both pass coverage and pass rushing. More importantly for the Saints, Davis was a key cog in a defense that allowed the fewest yards per rush attempt (3.7) and the 12th-fewest yards per pass attempt (7.0). Given his production and durability, Davis has given the Saints plenty of reasons to keep him around in 2022 despite the 33-year-old owning cap chargers of at least $11 million over the next two seasons.

Davis (undisclosed) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Davis landed on the COVID list on Christmas Eve and sat out Week 16 against the Dolphins, but he's now clear of the health and safety protocols. He hadn't missed a defensive snap for New Orleans since Week 1 prior to the absence.

Davis was moved to the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, per the Saints' official site.

New Orleans has multiple players on both sides of the ball going through COVID protocols, making for a tough situation going into its Monday matchup with Miami. Davis is well on his way to another 100-tackle season with 95 tackles through 14 contests. What's more, his run of 158 consecutive games played -- the longest active streak in the league among non-specialists -- appears to be in serious jeopardy. The Saints will likely turn to Pete Werner to fill in for Davis if he is indeed unable to suit up.

Davis recorded eight tackles (six solo) and one pass defended in Sunday's 30-9 win over the Jets.

Davis returned to form after recording just four tackles in Week 13 as the Saints leading tackler played on every defensive snap for the 12th-consecutive game. He is on track to eclipse 100 tackles for the fifth season in a row and sits at 88 tackles (60 solo), three sacks and five passes defended over 13 games.

Davis recorded six tackles and one tackle for a loss in Sunday's 23-21 loss to the Titans.

Davis tied for the team lead in tackles, and he now has at least six stops in seven of nine games this season. He's also pacing the team with 65 tackles on the campaign to go along with three sacks and 10 tackles for loss. Davis will be a key member of the defense going forward, as he has played 100 percent of snaps since Week 2.

Davis had 10 tackles (seven solo), two sacks and one pass breakup during Monday's 13-10 win over the Seahawks.

Davis brought down Geno Smith twice during Monday's narrow win, while still racking up stops against the run. The veteran linebacker now has three sacks in his last two appearances, and two games this season with double-digit tackles. Looking ahead to Sunday, Davis will face the tougher task of making plays against Tampa Bay's stout O-line.

Davis recorded eight tackles (five solo) and one sack during New Orleans' win over Washington in Week 5.

Davis wasn't very productive in coverage versus the Football Team, but he rewarded IDP managers by taking down Taylor Heinicke for his first sack of the year. Since Week 1, Davis hasn't missed a single defensive snap.

Davis totaled 12 tackles (eight solo), one tackle for loss and one pass deflection during Sunday's 26-7 loss to the Panthers.

After playing just 42 defensive snaps and registering four tackles against the Packers in the season opener, Davis responded with a 12-tackle performance against the Panthers. The 32-year-old has registered at least 110 tackles in four straight season and will likely be a top IDP option for the remainder of the season.

The Saints restructured Davis' contract Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Considering the Saints still need to free up close to $60 million in cap space just to get under the salary cap ahead of the new NFL year, more of these moves will be on the horizon. Entering the second year of a three-year contract signed in September, the veteran linebacker will continue to be a critical part of a defense that solidified itself among the league's best during the 2020 season.

Yet again, Davis led his team in tackles, and he's up to 114 on the season. He recorded 116 stops in 2014, which was the second-highest mark of his career. Davis will have one more game to surpass that total when the Saints face the Panthers in Week 17.

Davis racked up 15 tackles (six solo) in the Saints' 32-29 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.

For the third time in four weeks, Davis led the Saints in tackles, and through 15 weeks of the season, he's already surpassed 100 tackles. Davis has now hit that mark six times in his career and in four straight seasons. He's on pace for over 120 tackles, which would be the second-highest total of his career.

Davis racked up nine tackles (five solo) in the Saints' 21-16 win over the Falcons on Sunday.

Davis led the Saints in tackles for the fourth game in as many weeks, and he's now up to a team-high 85 on the season. He could be busy again in Week 14 against the Eagles.

Davis recorded nine tackles (seven solo) in the Saints' 31-3 win over the Broncos on Sunday.

That's three weeks in a row that Davis has led the Saints in tackles, as he continues to make plays for the defense. He'll face Matt Ryan and the Falcons in Week 13 after recording seven tackles and a sack against them in Week 11.

For the second week in a row, Davis recorded a sack and paced the Saints in tackles. The high-volume linebacker will look to keep up his strong play when the Saints face Denver in Week 12.

Davis totaled 12 tackles (eight solo), three tackles for a loss and a sack in the Saints' 27-13 win over the 49ers on Sunday.

Davis led the team in tackles and provided his third sack of the season in Sunday's blowout win. He's now totaled 59 tackles through nine games and is on pace for his fourth consecutive 100-tackle season.

Davis recorded 10 tackles (two solo) in Monday night's 30-27 overtime win against the Chargers.

The linebacker continued to make plays all over the field, tying for team lead in tackles in the overtime victory. Through five weeks, Davis has racked up 36 tackles and will look to keep up the strong play when New Orleans emerges from its bye to face Carolina in Week 7.

Davis finished with seven tackles (six solo), one sack and a tackle for a loss in the Saints' 37-30 loss to the Packers on Sunday.

He finished behind only Malcolm Jenkins in tackles in this one and got to Aaron Rodgers for his second sack of the season, regularly making plays as Green Bay scored 37 points in the contest. Through three weeks, Davis has 21 tackles and is on pace for his fourth consecutive 100-tackle season.

Davis compiled eight tackles (five solo), one pass defended, and a tackle for a loss in the Saints' 34-24 loss to the Raiders on Monday.

He finished second in tackles to Marcus Williams in Monday's loss, staying involved on defense as Las Vegas moved up and down the field at will. Davis will look to continue his voluminous tackling in what should be a high-scoring matchup with the Packers in Week 3.

Davis' tackle numbers were a bit slim by his standards, but he finished the day with a solid performance. He's finished with at least four sacks and 110 tackles each of the last three seasons and should provide a solid weekly floor as an IDP option due to his tackling prowess.

Davis was a limited practice participant throughout this week, but it won't impact his availability for Sunday's contest. The 30-year-old has played every defensive snap over the past two games and figures to see a heavy workload again versus the Buccaneers.
