Reverts to IR with New England
Prince (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve with the Patriots on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Prince signed with the Patriots on Sunday, but he quickly suffered an undisclosed injury at practice, which is set to sideline him for the entirety of the 2025 season while on IR. The running back would be eligible to return to action this year if he reaches an injury settlement with New England.

Waived with injury designation
The Patriots waived Prince (undisclosed) with an injury designation Tuesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Prince didn't play in the Patriots' preseason opener against the Commanders last Friday and will now head to injured reserve once he clears waivers. Prince was buzzed about in Chiefs camp two summers ago but failed to make the team and spent the previous two seasons on Kansas City's practice squad.

Lands in New England
The Patriots signed Prince to a contract Sunday, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Prince's addition to the Patriots' roster adds depth to the backfield after Lan Larison (leg) was placed on injured reserve. Prince spent the entire 2024 season on the Dolphins' practice squad and last saw regular-season action in 2023 with the Chiefs, when he played 15 snaps on special teams across two games.

Joins Miami's practice squad
The Dolphins signed Prince to the practice squad Friday.
ANALYSIS
Prince built some momentum during the preseason with Kansas City, and he now resurfaces in one of the only landing spots around the league as intriguing as his previous offense. Coach Mike McDaniel's rushing scheme seems like one Prince could thrive in, if given an opportunity, but his path to game-day activation is crowded. The Dolphins have reason to be confident in both Jaylen Wright and Jeff Wilson as capable contributors if either of Raheem Mostert or De'Von Achane are forced to miss any time.

Let go by Chiefs
The Chiefs have waived Prince, according to Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star.
ANALYSIS
With Prince not slated to be included on the Chiefs' initial 53-man roster, FB/RB Carson Steele appears to have secured a depth role behind Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Meanwhile, Prince could land on the team's practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
Aug 23, 2024
Minor contributions in loss
Prince rushed three times for minus-1 yard and brought in his only target for three yards in the Chiefs' 34-21 preseason loss to the Bears on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Prince saw both Carson Steele and Keaontay Ingram -- the latter his primary competition for a reserve running back role -- fill larger roles in the preseason finale. Prince appeared in two regular-season games as an undrafted rookie in 2023, but it remains to be seen if he'll be deemed worthy of a roster spot again this season, especially after such a lackluster finish to the exhibition slate.
Aug 10, 2024
Six touches in preseason loss
Prince rushed four times for 16 yards and brought in both targets for 10 yards in the Chiefs' 26-13 preseason loss to the Jaguars on Saturday night. He also returned one kickoff for 25 yards.
ANALYSIS
Prince was the third running back to record a touch after Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire had finished their work for the night. The second-year Tulsa product currently slots in as the No. 3 running back on the preseason depth chart, but he'll have to hold off the more experienced Keaontay Ingram for that role over the remaining two preseason games.

Rotates in ahead of Edwards-Helaire
Prince was the second RB to take a carry during Tuesday's run period, behind only Isiah Pacheco, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Prince spent most of 2023 on the Chiefs' practice squad after going undrafted in the spring, with his two regular-season appearances yielding 15 snaps on special teams. He has another shot to earn a backup role, as the Chiefs didn't do much to reinforce their backfield behind Pacheco this offseason, merely re-signing Clyde Edwards-Helaire and bringing in more undrafted rookies. Prince probably isn't ahead of Edwards-Helaire on the depth chart but might be viewed as a better fit fit for early downs and/or short-yardage situations if Pacheco were to miss time with an injury.

Remaining in Kansas City
Prince signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Prince will return to Kansas City where he spent time on the practice squad after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent last may. The 23-year-old played in two games but failed to record any stats and will look to secure a roster spot heading into the 2024 campaign.
Dec 18, 2023
Back to practice squad
Prince reverted to the Chiefs' practice squad Monday.
ANALYSIS
Prince played 10 snaps on special teams, failing to record a stat in the team's 27-17 win over the Patriots. If Isiah Pacheco (shoulder) is unavailable in Week 16, Prince could be elevated again ahead of Kansas City's matchup with the Raiders.
Dec 16, 2023
Elevated from practice squad
Prince was elevated from the practice squad by the Chiefs on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The running back was reverted to the practice squad Monday after playing no offensive snaps in Kansas City's Week 14 loss to Buffalo despite the absence of lead running back Isiah Pacheco (shoulder). Prince will get another chance to break into the backfield rotation of Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon on Sunday against the Patriots.
Dec 11, 2023
Back to practice squad
Prince reverted to the Chiefs' practice squad Monday.
ANALYSIS
Despite the absence of Isiah Pacheco (shoulder), Prince was unable to crack the backfield rotation of Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon. Prince played just five snaps on special teams and none on offense. He'll wait for another opportunity to be called up, which could happen Week 15 against the Patriots if Pacheco sits out for a second straight game.
Dec 9, 2023
Moves to active roster
Prince was elevated from the practice squad Saturday.
ANALYSIS
It'll be interesting to see how the Chiefs will utilize Prince, especially in the absence of Isiah Pacheco (shoulder). Head coach Andy Reid stated Clyde Edwards-Helaire would be the team's de-facto starter and it's widely expected Jerick McKinnon will likely see a significant snap share as the team's pass-catching back, but it's possible the rookie Prince could whittle away at the former's opportunities, especially in obvious running situations.
Dec 4, 2023
Returns to practice squad
Prince reverted to Kansas City's practice squad Monday.
ANALYSIS
Prince was active for Sunday's loss to the Packers as Jerick McKinnon (groin) was out but didn't see any playing time. The rookie undrafted free agent will now wait for another opportunity to be called up for action.
Dec 2, 2023
Elevated ahead of Sunday's contest
The Chiefs elevated Prince to their active roster Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The rookie running back's elevation likely comes in response to Jerick McKinnon (groin) being ruled out for Sunday night's affair. Prince has yet to appear in an NFL game, but he's been with Kansas City's practice squad since the end of August. He'll more than likely back up Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the Chiefs' Week 13 outing.
Aug 30, 2023
Joins practice squad
Prince was picked up by the Chiefs' practice squad Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
With Isiah Pacheco, Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire ahead of him on the depth chart, Prince was always considered to be a long shot in terms of making it through final cuts. However, he will now get to remain in Kansas City and continue practicing with the team while he awaits the possibility of being called up should the depth ahead of him require it.
Aug 29, 2023
Let go by Chiefs
The Chiefs waived Prince on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
With Prince being among the players waived or released by the Chiefs on Tuesday, Isiah Pacheco, Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire are the three running backs remaining on the team's 53-man roster. That said, Prince could be added to Kansas City's practice squad if he clears waivers.
Aug 13, 2023
Gets four carries
Prince rushed four times for 14 yards in Sunday's 26-24 preseason loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Prince entered at tailback after Clyde Edwards-Helaire played Kansas City's first two drives, totaling 22 yards on five touches. After Prince was withdrawn, Le'Mical Perine handled most of the Chiefs' rushing duties, gaining 24 yards on six carries. With Isiah Pacheco (hand/shoulder), Jerick McKinnon and Edwards-Helaire in tow, Prince's best path to the 53-man roster could be on special teams, but Sunday he gained only 36 yards on his two kickoff returns.

Returning kicks in preseason opener
Special teams coordinator Dave Toub announced this past Saturday that Prince will be Kansas City's starting kick returner in Sunday's preseason opener against the Saints, Ed Easton Jr. of USA Today Chiefs Wire reports.
ANALYSIS
Prince's ability to contribute on special teams should help bolster the undrafted rookie's chances of making Kansas City's 53-man roster, and he'll have a chance to showcase his skills in the return game Sunday. The running back out of Tulsa has received some reps with Patrick Mahomes and the first-team offense in practice, and Prince will likely get some opportunities on offense against New Orleans as well.

Making an impression
Prince has impressed his coaches and teammates during voluntary practice, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Price went undrafted out of Tulsa, but he's making the most of his opportunity in Kansas City. Not only has he shown an ability to excel as a pass catcher out of the backfield, but he could also potentially earn a role on special teams, specifically as a kick returner. Special teams coach, Dave Toub, believes Prince has an opportunity to handle that role, depending on how he progresses during training camp and the preseason, despite not returning kicks in college. The 23-year-old still may face an uphill battle making the 53-man roster, but he's at least proving he deserves consideration thus far.
Apr 30, 2023
Expected to sign with Kansas City
The Chiefs are expected to sign Prince as an undrafted free agent, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Prince rushed 314 times for 1,723 yards and 14 touchdowns over his final three seasons at Tulsa, including a career-high 729 rushing yards during the 2022 campaign. The 6-foot running back barely made an impact in the passing game, but he did finish his senior year with nine receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown. The Chiefs' running back depth chart is set at the top with Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, but Prince could carve out a depth role with a strong showing during training camp.
