Johnson agreed to terms Wednesday on a one-year contract with the Jaguars, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Johnson is coming off a quiet 2022 campaign with the Browns, but he flashed in limited opportunities back in 2021, when he handled 100 carries for 534 yards and three scores. The 27-year-old could now get a chance to complete for with the likes of JaMycal Hasty and Snoop Conner for complementary work behind No. 1 running back Travis Etienne, making him an interesting end-of-roster flier in dynasty fantasy formats.

Johnson played 10 snaps on special teams and did not play on offense in Sunday's 28-14 loss to Pittsburgh in Week 18.

Johnson finished the year with just seven touches -- four rushes and three receptions -- and heads quietly into the offseason. It was a different tale last season, after Johnson capably filled in for injured backs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, rushing 100 times for 534 yards and three touchdowns. There's very little mileage on Johnson, who turns 27 in February. The Browns are expected to go with Jerome Ford as the top backup to Chubb, and Johnson likely feels ready for a bigger role than he had in 2022. Both he and Kareem Hunt are in the final year of their deals and will entertain offers from other teams.

Johnson played 15 snaps on special teams and none on offense in Sunday's 27-14 win over Houston in Week 13.

It's not surprising to see Johnson used on special teams only, but it was interesting that Jerome Ford got his first snaps and touches on offense. If an injury to Nick Chubb or Kareem Hunt should occur in the final weeks of the regular season, it's not a given that Johnson would get first crack at replacing either back in the rotation.

Johnson did not play on offense during Sunday's 31-23 loss to Buffalo.

Johnson's usage as a running back has decreased significantly, as both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt have stayed healthy. He popped for 534 yards (5.3 YPC) when given an opportunity in 2021, but those that speculated on him in 2022 have been disappointed.

That means either Johnson or Kareem Hunt, both in the final year of their contracts, could be moved by Tuesday's 4:00 pm ET trade deadline. If either of those events happen, Johnson's fantasy outlook should improve.

Johnson's role with the Browns could change as rumors pick up about the team trading Kareem Hunt before next Tuesday's 4:00 pm trade dealine, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

The report doesn't get into specific trade partners interested in Hunt, but Cleveland is reportedly seeking a fourth-round draft pick as a starting point for discussions. Both Johnson and Hunt are on expiring contracts, making each of them a possible trade piece. Hunt's role has dwindled the last two weeks -- a total of 10 touches Weeks 6 and 7 after averaging more than 11 per game over the first five weeks. If the Browns trade Hunt, Johnson would move up to second on the depth chart. If Johnson is traded, the team trading for him presumably would have a bigger role waiting for him. Per usual, Johnson is listed as third at running back on the Browns' unofficial depth chart and as the primary kickoff returner for Monday night's game against the Bengals.

Johnson caught two of two targets for nine yards in Sunday's 38-15 loss to the Patriots in Week 6.

Johnson had his most significant contributions, but he remains a fringe player on offense. As long as Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are healthy, Johnson will play a limited role.

Johnson played 15 snaps on special teams in Week 5's 30-28 loss to the Chargers.

The Browns have kept Johnson under wrap the first five games of the season, making him inactive the first three weeks followed by mostly special-teams work (one offensive snap) in Weeks 4 and 5. And that work on special teams is not as a returner, despite Jerome Ford (ankle) being added to injured reserve. Cleveland's backfile duo of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt have been dominant on offense, so Johnson has no clear path at this time. Either an injury to one of the top backs or a trade is Johnson's best hope.

Johnson played one snap on offense and 17 snaps on special teams in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Falcons in Week 4.

Johnson, who was inactive the first two weeks, saw his first action on offense in Week 4. With Jerome Ford (ankle) hitting injured reserve, there's a chance for Johnson to handle the kickoff return duties that had been Ford's since Week 2.

Johnson played 15 special-teams snaps and did not line up on offense in Thursday's 29-17 win over the Steelers in Week 3.

Johnson was active for the first time this season, as Demetric Felton was given the night off. He has experience as a returner, but the Browns did not have him return punts or kicks, choosing to use Chester Rogers on punts and Jerome Ford or David Bell on kickoffs. It's possible the Browns don't want to expose Johnson to injury as a returner, so that he could be used as a trade chip later in the season.

Johnson is listed as active Thursday against the Steelers, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.

For the first time this season, Johnson won't be a healthy scratch and instead will be available to the Browns offense. Still, reps will be tough to come by behind Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. In the seven games in which all three running backs were available last season, Johnson managed just seven touches for 38 yards from scrimmage on 28 offensive snaps.

Johnson was inactive Week 2 against the Jets.

Johnson opens the season with two inactive designations in the first two games. Both Demetric Felton and Jerome Ford have been active ahead of Johnson, as both have roles in the return games. Johnson played in all three preseason games and logged his most time Saturday, getting on the field for 32 snaps. As was the case in the first two games, neither Nick Chubb nor Kareem Hunt played, as the Browns got a look at backs further down the depth chart. With quarterback Deshaun Watson set to miss the first 11 games of the season, Cleveland is expected to rely on its depth at running back. There had been speculation about trading Johnson or Hunt for a wide receiver to bolster a lack of proven options behind Amari Cooper, but the need for health and depth at running back might outweigh the luxury of an additional pass catcher.

Johnson and the Browns have reached an agreement on a one-year deal worth $2.43 million, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Johnson was originally tendered by the Browns, which gave them the ability to match any other offer he received. Without any substantial offers, the running back has ultimately opted to take the deal with Cleveland. With Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt the primary two backs in the offense, Johnson projects to again be the next-man-up should either go down with an injury. He averaged 5.34 yards per attempt on 100 carries for the team in 2021 while finding the end zone three times.

Johnson showed out well last season, recording three contests with over 100 scrimmage yards, and Cleveland appears to be prioritizing keeping the backfield intact. Considering that Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt (ankle) combined to miss 12 games due to injury last year, Johnson's depth role could prove a vital one.

Johnson rushed 25 times for 123 yards and a touchdown and brought in his only target for 10 yards in the Browns' 21-16 win over the Bengals on Sunday.

With nothing to play for in terms of the postseason and backup Case Keenum helming the offense, head coach Kevin Stefanski opted to give some other reserves a chance to showcase their skills and Johnson cashed in nicely on the opportunity. The talented back had already amply demonstrated his ability to serve as a legitimate lead back when called upon earlier this season, so his strong showing against a short-handed Bengals defense looking ahead to the playoffs wasn't completely surprising. Johnson finishes the season with 534 rushing yards and another 137 through the air, but with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt in front of him, his path to meaningful playing time could well continue to hinge on injuries in front of him in 2022.

Johnson is active for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Johnson was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, and with Kareem Hunt (ankle) inactive, the stage is set for Johnson to be available to work behind Nick Chubb in the Browns' Week 18 backfield, with Demetric Felton on hand in reserve.

Expect more clarification on the backfield usage prior to the team's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.

Cleveland placed Johnson on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday after he tested positive for the virus, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

According to Jake Trotter of ESPN.com, Johnson is vaccinated, so he'll be eligible to come off the list as soon as he's deemed asymptomatic or is able to turn in consecutive negative test results at least 24 hours apart. He should have a shot at being reinstated to the roster prior to Sunday's game against the Bengals, though he'll almost certainly miss practice time while following the NFL's COVID-19 return-to-play protocol. Even if he gets cleared to suit up in the season finale, Johnson could be in store for a small role out of the backfield if both Nick Chubb (ribs) and Kareem Hunt (ankle) are able to play through their respective injuries.

Johnson carried five times for 13 yards and caught one of three targets for one yard in Monday's 26-14 loss to the Steelers. He also returned five kickoffs for 113 yards.

Johnson was on the field for 39 snaps, nine more than starter Nick Chubb, who was apparently banged up earlier in the contest according to head coach Kevin Stefanski, per a report from Zac Jackson of The Athletic. Chubb managed to stay in the game, but Stefanski shied away from the running attack, and quarterback Baker Mayfield paid for it in the form of nine sacks and 11 quarterback hits. If Chubb is unavailable next week or the Browns choose to rest him, Johnson will be in line for a larger load Week 18 against the Bengals.

Johnson had four carries for 58 yards and caught one of two targets for eight yards in Week 16's 24-22 loss to the Packers on Saturday.

Johnson's day included a huge 3rd-and-10 conversion, rushing 30 yards to the Green Bay five-yard line and setting up the Browns' final score. He served as Nick Chubb's backup for the third consecutive game with Kareem Hunt sidelined by an ankle injury while also on the reserve/COVID-19 list. It was the third straight game with five touches for Johnson, who has emerged as a competent backup with starter potential in his third NFL season. He'll never usurp the primary role from Chubb, but Johnson is averaging 5.5 yards per carry during his career and hasn't taken the number of hits that other running backs have absorbed over 47 career games.

Johnson rushed once for minus-2 yards and caught all four of his targets for 17 yards in Monday's 16-14 loss to the Raiders.

Johnson was a non-factor on the ground behind workhorse Nick Chubb, who mustered 91 yards and a touchdown on 23 rushing attempts. He played a scaled-down version of the third-down back role normally occupied by the inactive Kareem Hunt, who's currently on the reserve/COVID-19 list while also dealing with an ankle injury, and Johnson actually tied Donovan Peoples-Jones for the team lead in catches. Given his role in this one, Johnson will be tough to trust in Week 16 against the Packers, even if Hunt's not ready to return.

Johnson and the Browns will no longer play the Raiders on Saturday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Monday at 5 p.m. ET.

Due to ongoing COVID-19-related concerns within the Cleveland organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, the Browns will restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster. Since Kareem Hunt isn't in line to play Week 15 after failing to practice this week due to an ankle injury before being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Johnson has a clear path to the No. 2 role out of the backfield behind starter Nick Chubb.

Johnson is expected to serve as the top backup to starting running back Nick Chubb with Kareem Hunt (ankle) ruled out for Saturday's game against the Raiders, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Johnson had moved down to the third spot on the depth chart for the Browns' past two games following Hunt's return from injured reserve, but the former should have a clear path to the No. 2 role after the latter picked up another injury in Cleveland's Week 14 win over Baltimore. Chubb is still likely to see the majority of the snaps and touches out of the backfield, but Johnson and Hunt still managed to earn six carries and three receptions between them last week. A touch count in the high single digits or low double digits could be enough to keep Johnson on the radar in deeper PPR leagues this week.

Johnson had four carries for 22 yards and caught his lone target for seven yards in Sunday's 24-22 win over the Ravens.

Johnson did not play on offense when the Browns and Ravens hooked up in Week 12 due to the availability of both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt; however, Hunt sustained an ankle injury Sunday and was limited to 13 snaps. More will be known about Hunt's status heading into Week 15's road game against Las Vegas after the back undergoes testing Monday. If Hunt's unable to go, Johnson will slot in as the backup to Chubb.

Johnson played six offensive snaps and did not receive a touch or a target in Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Ravens.

This was the first game in five weeks in which the Browns had both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt (leg) available, which put a limit on Johnson's playing time. Hunt injured his leg late and was removed from the game, which could impact Johnson's role going forward; however, Cleveland is on its bye Week 13. The next game is Week 14, a return matchup at home against the Ravens.

Johnson recorded five carries for 26 yards in Sunday's 13-10 win over Detroit.

Despite topping 150 total yards in Week 10, Johnson took a back seat in the gameplan due to the return of Nick Chubb (illness). Johnson has now seen single-digit touches in every game that Chubb has been active. Johnson's role is likely to only diminish further once Kareem Hunt (calf) is able to return from injured reserve.

Johnson is expected to move into the No. 2 role out of the Cleveland backfield Sunday against the Lions after Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Nick Chubb (illness) is good to go after practicing Friday in his return from the reserve/COVID-19 list, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.

After Chubb was placed on the list Nov. 9 following a positive test of the virus, Johnson stepped in to pick up his second start of the season Week 10 against New England. Though the Browns weren't competitive in a 45-7 loss, Johnson was productive with his opportunities, carrying 19 times for 99 yards and catching seven passes for 58 yards on eight targets. While Johnson has been a revelation in both of his starts, a healthy Chubb remains the Browns' unquestioned lead back, though Cleveland could be inclined to ease him back from a one-game absence with a slightly lighter workload than normal against an inferior Lions team. If that's the case, Johnson could still have some value this week as a low-end flex play in deeper leagues while Kareem Hunt (calf) remains on injured reserve.

Johnson ran for 99 yards on 19 carries while catching seven passes for 58 yards on eight targets against New England on Sunday.

The Browns weren't very threatening in the 45-7 loss and the point gap might have led New England to play less aggressively on defense, but this is still an impressive showing for the formerly undrafted Johnson, who has thrived in both of his spot starts this year. Johnson is expected to head back to the bench against the Lions in Week 11, but by now he's given convincing reason to believe he'll play well whenever he might get the opportunity next.

Johnson is expected to be the Browns' No. 1 running back Sunday at New England with Nick Chubb (illness), Demetric Felton (illness) and John Kelly (illness) all on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Coach Kevin Stefanski noted the trio of Chubb, Felton and Kelly will be unable to clear COVID-19 protocols in time to be available for Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, leaving Johnson as the sole healthy running back on the active roster. On top of that, Kareem Hunt (calf) isn't ready to return from injured reserve, so Johnson likely only will have to contend with elevated options out of the backfield such as Brian Hill and Dexter Williams. When Johnson served as Cleveland's lead runner Week 7, he churned out 168 yards from scrimmage and one TD on 24 touches.

Johnson will make another start in the event teammate Nick Chubb (illness) isn't reinstated from the reserve/COVID-19 list before Sunday's game in New England, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Johnson's previous start, Week 7 against Denver, yielded 22 carries for 146 yards and a touchdown and two catches for 22 yards on 69 percent snap share, while backups Demetric Felton and John Kelly combined for just four carries and three targets. A full repeat is a lot to ask in New England, but it is a safe guess that Johnson will have a busy afternoon if Chubb doesn't end up playing. In order to suit up, Chubb needs to return negative tests on back-to-back days, after initially testing positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday morning.

Johnson had eight carries for 16 yards in Sunday's 41-16 win over the Bengals.

Nick Chubb had the bulk of the carries early, before Johnson took over as Cleveland's blowout took place. It was the first time in three weeks that Johnson did not score a touchdown. He continues to fill the backup role while Kareem Hunt (calf) is sidelined on injured reserve. Hunt's three-week minimum stay on IR ended Sunday, but the Browns feel he'll need at least one more week before he's ready to play.

Johnson carried the ball four times for 22 yards and a touchdown and caught one of three targets for seven yards in Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Steelers.

While Nick Chubb dominated the backfield touches in his return to action, Johnson was the only Brown to get into the end zone on a 10-yard dash in the third quarter. Kareem Hunt (calf) isn't expected to be back any time soon, so Johnson should continue to have a role for Cleveland in Week 9 against the Bengals.

With Nick Chubb (calf) returning to practice Monday, as reported by Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal, Johnson may not be the lead back Week 8 against the Steelers.

Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski was hopeful last week that Chubb could return for the Pittsburgh game, and the coach sounded more confident Monday. "He's gotten a lot of work done this last couple weeks. He's feeling good. He's continuing to get rehab, and I think he's excited to get back out there. We'll see how it goes over the next couple days and see if he can," Stefanski said. To be clear, Ulrich reports Chubb's return to practice but did not speculate on the impact of a potential return would have on Johnson. Logically, if Chubb is ready to play, then Johnson's role will be diminished.

Johnson rushed 22 times for 146 yards and a touchdown and brought in both targets for 22 yards in the Browns' 17-14 win over the Broncos on Thursday night.

Johnson stole the show in his start in place of Nick Chubb (hamstring) and Kareem Hunt (IR-hamstring), repeatedly gashing the tough Broncos front seven for sizable gains on the ground. The third-year pro, who'd flashed occasionally during his time with the Orlando Apollos of the AAF back in the spring of 2019 but had seen very modest opportunities since joining the Browns later that same year, averaged a robust 6.6 yards per carry and notched his first career NFL touchdown on a four-yard run to cap off a five-play, 75-yard opening drive. Johnson could still see a solid workload as Chubb's main backup if the latter is ready to suit up for a Week 8 home AFC North showdown against the Steelers a week from Sunday.

Johnson is slated for his first career start Thursday versus the Broncos after Nick Chubb (calf) was ruled out and Kareem Hunt (calf) went on IR, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.

Since joining the Browns in May 2019 after a stint with Orlando in the AAF, Johnson has been active for all 40 of the team's games, including postseason. Overall, his 40 rushes have gone off at a clip just shy of 5.0 YPC, and he's also hauled in 10 of 12 targets for 92 yards. Cleveland has a decision to make with Baker Mayfield and his left throwing shoulder for Week 7, but even if he plays the team could opt to be more more ground-based to keep pressure off the fourth-year quarterback. In any case, Johnson seems poised to be the Browns' runner on early downs, Demetric Felton likely will be the change-of-pace option, and John Kelly sits at third on the RB depth chart as long as Chubb and Hunt are sidelined.

Johnson carried the ball once for two yards and caught his only target for seven yards in Sunday's 37-14 loss to the Cardinals.

Despite the fact Nick Chubb (calf) was inactive, Johnson didn't see much of a role behind Kareem Hunt in the Cleveland backfield. However, Hunt also left Sunday's game with a calf issue after coming into the contest already dealing with wrist and knee injuries, and if neither of the Browns' two elite RBs are able to suit up for a Week 7 clash with the Broncos, Johnson could find himself with a significant role, perhaps as the early-down option with rookie Demetric Felton handling passing downs.

Johnson will serve as the second running back on the depth chart in Sunday's game against Arizona.

Nick Chubb (calf) has been ruled out of the game, which creates an opportunity for Johnson, who has played just eight snaps on offense in 2021. Kareem Hunt is slated to take the lead back role, but he was hampered by knee and wrist injuries during practice. Should those injuries hinder Hunt or get aggravated during the game, Johnson and Demetric Felton are poised to step in. Sunday's kickoff is at 4:05 PM ET.

Johnson did not have an offensive snap and was on the field 19 snaps on special teams during Sundays' 14-7 win over Minnesota.

This was second time in four games with no offensive snaps for Johnson, who has a total of eight snaps and two carries through four games. He'd likely be first in line for duty should anything untoward happen to Nick Chubb or Kareem Hunt. Rookie Demetric Felton has more offensive snaps than Johnson, but the veteran has more time in the system while Felton is viewed more as a specialty tool.

Johnson had two carries for nine yards in Sunday's 26-6 win over Chicago.

Johnson was part of the grouping that came in on for the final series of the game. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt helped seal the game, as Cleveland posted 13 fourth-quarter points and rested its regulars while Johnson made his first carries of the season.

Johnson did not play in Sunday's 33-29 loss to the Chiefs.

It's not surprising Johnson didn't get a snap on offense, as he sits behind Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, but he was exepcted to have a special teams role. He has return experience but watched rookie Demetric Felton handle the return duties Week 1.

Johnson rushed four times for 36 yards and caught four of five targets for 23 yards in Sunday's 17-13 preseason win over the Giants.

Johnson was Cleveland's first tailback to feature Sunday, and he did well with his workload. Along with totaling nearly 60 yards, Johnson also recovered a fumble by quarterback Kyle Lauletta. Although John Kelly impressed with nine carries for 58 yards and a touchdown after Johnson exited, the USF product at least helped himself heading into what could be a crucial preseason finale next Sunday in his quest to earn a roster spot behind Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.

Johnson had five carries for 14 yards and caught two of three targets for 28 yards in Saturday's 23-13 win over Jacksonville in preseason Week 1.

Neither Nick Chubb nor Kareem Hunt played the exhibition opener, so Johnson got the start for the Browns, which is understandable as the team's third back on the depth chart. Notably, Johnson didn't return kicks or punts, but that could be attributed to Johnson having to play a heavy load (for preseason) on offense.

Johnson is not with the Browns as training camp opened Wednesday because he's attending the birth of his first child, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.

Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski said Johnson should return to the team by the end of the week.

Johnson did not play on offense and returned two kickoffs for 37 yards in Sunday's 22-17 playoff loss to Kansas City.

Johnson was a distant third on the depth chart behind Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt all season while appearing in all 16 regular season games and both playoff contests. He had 33 carries for 166 yards while playing 81 snaps. Both Chubb and Hunt are under contract for 2021, and no change is expected for the running back depth chart. Johnson will be the primary kick and punt returner entering 2021 training camp, but teams typically bring in other candidates to challenge for return jobs.

Johnson returned three kickoffs for 79 yards and two punts for 13 yards in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Jets.

Johnson's normally Cleveland's kick returner, but he added a second duty Sunday with Donovan Peoples-Jones added to the COVID-19 list for the game.

Johnson (groin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jets, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

The 24-year-old was limited by the groin injury at the start of the week, but he put in a full practice Friday to avoid the questionable tag. Johnson should handle kick return duties and work as Cleveland's No. 3 running back behind Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt on Sunday.

Johnson (groin) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Johnson ran out last Sunday's win over the Giants to provide Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt with some rest, logging four carries for 24 yards, but he appears to have gotten nicked up in the process. He'll have two more chances to upgrade his activity ahead of Week 16's road game against the Jets.

Johnson has four carries for 24 yards and returned one kickoff for 16 yards in Sunday's 20-6 win over the Giants.

Johnson had his first carries since Week 8, finishing the game on the Browns' final drive. Since Nick Chubb returned from an injury following a Week 9 bye, Johnson's been relegated to kick return duty.

Johnson averaged 31 yards on three kickoff returns in Sunday's 27-25 win over Jacksonville.

Johnson, who played three snaps as a running back, has fallen off the offensive radar since Nick Chubb returned from a knee injury, but he's resurfaced as the Browns' primary kick returner. He had 43-yard and 32-yard returns that put the Browns in position to respond to Jacksonville scores with their own points. As long as Chubb and Kareem Hunt stay healthy, Johnson will have to make contributions on special teams.

Johnson played one snap on offense and five special-team snaps in Sunday's 22-17 win over the Eagles.

While the Browns have become a run-dominant team, all the attention goes to Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Johnson's played one offensive snap since Chubb's return to the active roster Week 10. Johnson did lead the team in kickoff returns, getting two chances (40 yards) while rookie Donovan Peoples-Jones had one (30 yards).

Johnson garnered zero offensive snaps and five special-teams snaps during Sunday's 10-7 win against the Texans.

With Nick Chubb returning from a knee injury that had held him out since Oct. 4, Johnson was relegated to a special-teams role. Johnson's involvement in the offense had been fading in recent appearances, as he only accumulated 51 scrimmage yards on 15 combined offensive touches Weeks 5 through 10, after racking up 95 yards on 13 carries the game Chubb went down against the Cowboys in Week 4. Heading into a matchup against the Eagles, Johnson sits a distant third on Cleveland's RB depth chart behind Chubb and Kareem Hunt.

Johnson carried twice for six yards and caught is lone target for five yards in Sunday's 16-6 loss to the Raiders.

Johnson's had a total of 17 touches in the four games since a breakout performance in the Week 4 win over Dallas. With a bye week looming and Nick Chubb (knee) eligible to return from injured reserve Week 10, the loss to Las Vegas may have been the window shutting on Johnson's offensive relevance.

Johnson had one carry for three yards and was not targeted in Sunday's 37-34 win over the Bengals.

Since his 95-yard outburst in a Week 4 win over the Cowboys, Johnson's had fewer touches in each successive week. He's gone from 13 touches to nine to four and now one. His window of opportunity is closing soon. The Browns are at home Week 8 against Las Vegas before a bye week. After that, Nick Chubb (knee) is expected to return, which will relegate Johnson to third on the depth chart.

Johnson carried four times for one yard and was targeted once in Sunday's 38-7 loss to Pittsburgh.

Johnson and the rest of the running backs had few holes to hit and were of little need in Sunday's blowout. With Nick Chubb (knee) sidelined and Kareem Hunt (3.4 YPC) bottled up, there's opportunity for Johnson or Dontrell Hilliard to claim a larger role.

Johnson had eight carries for 32 yards and caught his lone target for four yards in Sunday's 32-23 win over the Colts.

Johnson moved up to second on the depth chart behind Kareem Hunt, as the Browns cope with the loss to Nick Chubb. Coming off a 95-yard effort in Week 4, Johnson had cache heading into Week 5, particularly with Hunt limited at practices leading up to the game. Indianapolis' stout defense against the run -- they entered allowing 77.0 yards per game, fourth in the NFL -- bottled up Cleveland's ground game, forcing more from the passing game than the ground attack.

Johnson could handle a significant role on offense with Nick Chubb (knee) on IR and expected to miss about six weeks, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.

Johnson worked alongside Kareem Hunt after Chubb was forced out of Cleveland's Week 4 win over the Cowboys, and he impressed while turning 13 carries into 95 yards. Though Kareem Hunt (groin) is the clear favorite to lead the Browns' backfield until late November, at which point Chubb could return, it wouldn't be out of the question for Johnson to see somewhere in the range of ten carries a week in one of the league's most potent rushing attacks. Additionally, Johnson would stand to inherit a hugely valuable role if Hunt were to exacerbate his groin injury.

Johnson carried 13 times for 95 yards during Sunday's 49-38 win over the Cowboys.

Johnson got involved in the offense after Nick Chubb (knee) left with an injury and gashed the Dallas defense for 7.3 yards per carry. His long gain went for 28 yards and he impressively finished with more carries than Kareem Hunt, who found the end zone twice on the day. Chubb was able to walk off under his own power, but the extent of his injury remains to be seen. If he is forced to sit out next Sunday's matchup with the Colts, Johnson could receive a healthy workload as a complementary option to Hunt.

Johnson entered Sunday's game as the primary returner after JoJo Natson left in the second quarter due to a knee injury.

Johnson gained zero yards on one punt return in the third quarter. He's played just three percent of the offensive snaps in 2020, so any contributions Johnson can make are likely on special teams.

Johnson made the Browns' 53-man roster, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
