Logs three targets Week 10
Moreau caught two of three targets for 16 yards during Sunday's 17-7 victory against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau more than doubled his targets this season, and he now has three catches on five targets across six games this season. New Orleans had to disperse the targets that previously went to WR2 Rashid Shaheed, who was traded away Tuesday. Moreau finished tied with running backs Alvin Kamara and Devin Neal and wideout Devaughn Vele for the team's third-most targets. TE1 Juwan Johnson logged the team's second-most targets (four). Over the previous two years, Moreau accrued 53 catches for 606 yards and six touchdowns across 32 regular-season games. He'll likely continue to max out around three to four targets per game moving forward, which wouldn't make him a worthwhile streaming option for fantasy managers.
Oct 6, 2025
Zero catches in 2025 debut
Moreau tallied zero targets during Sunday's 26-14 win versus the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Moreau eased his way back during his first game off the PUP list. The 28-year-old played a lower percentage of offensive snaps (35) than the team's other two tight ends, Juwan Johnson (85) and Jack Stoll (38). Meanwhile, Taysom Hill served almost exclusively as a rushing option in what was also his first game of the season. Moreau wasn't a significant pass-catcher over the last two years in New Orleans, but he played more offensive snaps (711) than TE1 Johnson (653) over 17 regular-season games in 2024. He should eventually ramp back up to become the clear-cut TE2, but his fantasy value will be minimal except for the deepest of PPR leagues. His next game will come versus the Patriots on Sunday, Oct. 12.
Oct 5, 2025
Making season debut Sunday
Moreau (knee) is listed as active Sunday versus the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Moreau thus has been cleared for his first game action since Week 18 of last season, when he suffered a knee injury that required surgery and a stint on the reserve/PUP list Weeks 1-4 of the current campaign. Fellow TE Taysom Hill (knee) is back in the lineup as well, meaning Moreau may be the Saints' third option at the position, at best, behind Juwan Johnson (ankle) and Hill on Sunday. Moreau is coming off a 32-413-5 line on 43 targets in 17 regular-season games in 2024.
Oct 4, 2025
Off PUP list, still questionable
The Saints activated Moreau (knee) from the reserve/PUP list Saturday, but he remains questionable for Sunday's contest against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
The same can be said for fellow TE Taysom Hill (knee), giving both players a chance to make their season debuts Week 5. Moreau himself has been in recovery mode since suffering a knee injury Week 18 of last season that required surgery and a stint on the PUP list to begin the current campaign. With all of Juwan Johnson (ankle), Hill and Moreau questionable for Sunday's game, the latter's workload is to be determined, assuming he's active.
Oct 3, 2025
Taking questionable tag into Week 5
The Saints list Moreau (knee) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After being designated for return from the PUP list earlier this week, Moreau took part in his first practices since undergoing surgery in the offseason to address a knee injury. He was a limited participant Wednesday though Friday, and though Moreau will carry a questionable tag into the weekend, the Saints may want him to turn in a full practice before bringing him back from the PUP list. In addition to Moreau, the Saints list fellow tight ends Juwan Johnson (ankle) and Taysom Hill (knee) as questionable for Week 5, leaving the position group in a state of flux as Sunday's contest approaches.
Oct 2, 2025
Puts in limited practice
Moreau (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau missed the Saints' first four games of the season and remains on the PUP list while continuing his recovery from January knee surgery, but he could be on the cusp of making his 2025 debut. The Saints opened his 21-day evaluation window Wednesday, and he's now turned in a pair of limited practices to begin Week 5 prep. Given the length of his absence, the tight end may need to upgrade to full participation Friday to have a realistic chance at being activated ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants.
Oct 1, 2025
Logs limited practice activity
Moreau (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Moreau and Taysom Hill (knee) both logged limited practice activity Wednesday after having had their 21-day practice windows opened. Meanwhile, starting tight end Juwan Johnson (foot) was unable to practice to open Week 5. Moreau opened the regular season on the reserve/PUP list and is now in the last stages of his recovery from knee surgery undergone early January. If Johnson is at risk of missing any time due to injury, Moreau could be positioned to step into a notable role on offense once fully cleared to retake the field.
Sep 29, 2025
Set to return to practice
Head coach Kellen Moore said Monday that Moreau (knee) will have practice window to return from the reserve/PUP list this week, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau is in the final stages of his recovery from a knee injury that he sustained in Week 18 of the 2024 regular season. He has been on the PUP list since the start of training camp in July, but the 2019 fourth-rounder has progressed enough in his recovery to return to practice. Once Moreau's practice window opens, the Saints will have 21 days to activate him from the PUP list. If he's not activated within that 21-day window, then he would revert to injured reserve and be forced to miss the rest of the 2025 season.
Aug 26, 2025
Moved to reserve/PUP list
The Saints placed Moreau (knee) on the reserve/PUP list Tuesday, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau will have to miss at least the first four games of the regular season as he continues to work his way back from an offseason knee procedure. He also missed all of team activities during spring and summer, and it remains to be seen whether New Orleans anticipates him getting returning to practice as soon as he's eligible. The same is true of fellow tight end Taysom Hill (knee), who the Saints also placed on the reserve/PUP list Tuesday.
Jul 22, 2025
Starts camp on PUP
The Saints placed Moreau (knee) on the active/PUP list Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was injured in the Saints' Week 18 regular-season finale and required offseason surgery. His return timeline remains unclear after he missed all of the offseason program. Once healthy, Moreau figures to be apart of New Orleans' three-man weave at tight end, which also includes Juwan Johnson and Taysom Hill (knee), who is also opening camp on active/PUP while he works his way back from a torn ACL in his left knee.
May 22, 2025
Missing offseason program
Head coach Kellen Moore told reporters Thursday that Moreau (knee) won't participate in the team's offseason program, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau is still recovering from the knee injury sustained in early January, so it's no surprise he'll be sidelined for the Saints' offseason activities. Since coming over from Las Vegas ahead of the 2023 season, Moreau has appeared in 32 regular-season games, recording 53 receptions for 606 yards and six touchdowns. He played 711 offensive snaps in 2024 -- the second-most of his career -- so once he returns from injury, Moreau is likely to compete for a role as one of the Saints' top vertical threats at tight end.
Jan 6, 2025
Surgery ahead
Moreau, who suffered a knee injury in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers, will have to undergo surgery, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was carted off the field after sustaining a blow to his leg late in Sunday's matchup. It's still unclear what the injury he suffered is, or if he is in danger of missing any time next season. The 27-year-old still has one year left on his contract, although there is likely no guarantee he'll be in a Saints uniform next season.
Jan 5, 2025
Injured in regular-season finale
Moreau reeled in all four targets for 31 yards before sustaining a knee injury during Sunday's 27-19 defeat versus the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau went down after sustainieng a blow to his leg and he was carted to the locker room late in the fourth quarter. Saints coach Darren Rizzi said postgame that the tight end suffered a knee injury, but he did not elaborate on the nature or severity of this issue, according to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. Moreau suited up for all 17 games this season, finishing with 32 catches for 413 yards and five touchdowns. His numbers never jumped off the page this season, but he was a solid complement opposite tight end Juwan Johnson, who recorded a 50-548-3 season stat line. Moreau joined the Saints on a two-year, $12 million contract in March of 2023. With the team likely to undergo a reset this offseason, it's unclear if Moreau will be back in New Orleans for the 2025 campaign.
Dec 29, 2024
Finds end zone Sunday
Moreau caught three of five targets for 47 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-10 loss to the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
The Saints' top two tight ends, Moreau and Juwan Johnson, combined for a 9-113-1 line on 15 targets -- volume that was due to rookie QB Spencer Rattler being under center, as well as the fact that the team's wide receiver room has been gutted by injuries. Moreau could be leaned on again in Week 18 against the Buccaneers, especially with Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) being the latest WR to go down for New Orleans.
Dec 23, 2024
Team-high yardage total in loss
Moreau secured two of three targets for 33 yards in the Saints' 34-0 loss to the Packers on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
Moreau's yardage total was a team-high figure on a night where Spencer Rattler threw for only 153 yards. Moreau also tied fellow tight end Juwan Johnson and Dante Pettis for the team lead in receptions, and he'll carry a five-game streak of multiple receptions into a Week 17 home matchup against his old Raiders squad.
Dec 15, 2024
Catches TD in close loss Week 15
Moreau posted four catches (on four targets) during Sunday's 20-19 defeat versus the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was once again actively involved in the passing game as he logged a touchdown catch for the third time in the last four contests. This time, the sixth-year pro nearly secured the game-winning score when he caught a one-yard touchdown as time expired in the fourth quarter. But, the Saints' comeback attempt came up just short, as quarterback Spencer Rattler failed to connect with fellow tight end Juwan Johnson on the ensuing two-point conversion attempt. Moreau has now totaled 23 catches (on 31 targets) for 302 yards and four touchdowns this season. He should continue to split playing time with Johnson during next week's game versus Green Bay on Monday, Dec. 23.
Dec 8, 2024
Catches two balls in win
Moreau reeled in all two targets for 40 yards during Sunday's 14-11 win against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Moreau made one of the standout plays of Sunday's game, catching a pass one-handed and in stride over the middle before running for a 32-yard gain. The 250-pound tight end has already surpassed his season-long production from last year, but he's still logged more than two catches in just two games this season and has not recorded a touchdown since Week 9. Meanwhile, fellow tight end Juwan Johnson recorded four catches on five targets along with an 11-yard touchdown reception on Sunday. Moreau and Johnson should continue to split targets as the top-two tight ends for the Saints moving forward. Their next game will come versus the Commanders on Sunday, Dec. 15.
Dec 6, 2024
Ready to rock
Moreau (shoulder) practiced in full Friday and does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Giants, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau and Juwan Johnson (foot) have both had a cap on their practice reps heading into Sunday's road matchup at New York, but neither will carry an injury designation into the weekend. In the wake of Taysom Hill (knee) sustaining a season-ending ACL tear, Moreau and Johnson have attained increased fantasy upside as the top remaining playmakers in New Orleans' tight end corps. In standard scoring formats, though, both Moreau and Johnson will still likely be touchdown dependent options.
Dec 5, 2024
Remains limited Thursday
Moreau (shoulder) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Both Moreau and Juwan Johnson (foot) have operated with a cap on their practice reps so far this week, so Friday's injury report will reveal who among the duo may be cleared ahead of the weekend. Moreau and Johnson are the top options to handle TE reps for the Saints the rest of the campaign after Taysom Hill tore his ACL this past Sunday versus the Rams.
Dec 4, 2024
Dealing with shoulder issue
Moreau (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Taysom Hill out for the season due to a torn ACL, Moreau and Juwan Johnson (foot) are in line to handle most of the TE reps for New Orleans moving forward. However, both players have kicked off Week 14 prep with a cap on their practice reps. Sessions on Thursday and Friday likely will determine whether one or both of them enter the weekend with designations ahead of Sunday's contest at the Giants.
Dec 1, 2024
Could be in store for more work
Moreau (shoulder) finished with two receptions (four targets) for six yards in Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Moreau's stat line was nothing to write home about, but there are positive takeaways for the tight end Sunday. First off, New Orleans' recent bye week allowed the veteran backup to heal up from a shoulder injury sustained in the Saints' prior contest back in Week 11. Moreau's role may increase in the interim after versatile starter Taysom Hill (knee) was carted off late in the fourth quarter of the loss to Los Angeles. Juwan Johnson (5-36-0) could also benefit from any time Hill may be forced to miss, but both could become waiver adds in deeper formats in that scenario.
Nov 29, 2024
Cleared to face Rams
Moreau (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Rams, Luke Johnson of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau will be available Sunday after logging three limited practices. He'll work as part of a crowded New Orleans tight end room that also features Juwan Johnson and the versatile Taysom Hill.
Nov 28, 2024
Listed as limited Thursday
Moreau (shoulder) was listed as limited on Thursday's estimated injury report.
ANALYSIS
Moreau would have maintained his activity level from Wednesday if the Saints had held practice, but his listing Thursday indicates that he's still bothered by the shoulder injury that he sustained in the team's last game Nov. 17 against the Browns. Friday's practice report will unveil whether or not he goes into the weekend with a designation for Sunday's contest versus the Rams.
Nov 27, 2024
Shoulder injury lingering
Moreau was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a shoulder injury.
ANALYSIS
Prior to the Saints' Week 12 bye, Moreau's snap share was at least 70 percent in four consecutive games, but his overall line of 4-67-1 on nine targets during that span was lacking, aside from a 17-yard TD in Week 9 at Carolina. He made a brief exit Week 11 against the Browns due to a shoulder issue, which appears to be lingering after the team's recent respite. Moreau's listing on practice reports Thursday and Friday likely will give a sense of his odds to suit up Sunday versus the Rams.
Nov 17, 2024
Sees solid target share Week 11
Moreau notched three receptions (on four targets) for 50 yards during Sunday's 35-14 victory against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Moreau briefly exited with a shoulder injury in the first half before returning in the second quarter. The tight end logged three catches in the second half as the Saints scored over 30 points or the first time since Week 1. He did not see any targets in the red zone though, as fellow tight end Juwan Johnson scored the team's shortest touchdown with a one-yard reception to go up 28-14 in the fourth quarter. Moreau's average target share still isn't enough to justify any fantasy relevance unless he plays an outsized role as a red-zone threat. With the Saints on bye Week 12, Moreau's next chance to get back into the end zone will come versus the Rams on Sunday, Dec. 1.
Nov 17, 2024
Returns to action Sunday
Moreau has returned to Sunday's game against the Browns after hurting his shoulder in the first quarter, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau exited in the first quarter after being slammed to the ground on an attempted catch, and he was initially deemed questionable to return. However, the tight end has since been able to re-enter the contest. Moreau will thus be able to continue working as part of the Saints' tight-end trio along with Juwan Johnson and Taysom Hill.
Nov 17, 2024
Leaves game with shoulder injury
Moreau (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Moreau got slammed to the ground while making a catch late in the first quarter, which was ultimately nullified by a holding call. Moreau managed to walk back to the bench under his own power, and while he is being evaluated, Dallin Holker could see more snaps on offense behind Juwan Johnson and Taysom Hill.
Nov 10, 2024
Held without a catch Sunday
Moreau failed to haul in either of his two targets during Sunday's 20-17 victory against Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Moreau logged two or fewer targets for the sixth game in a row. The sixth-year tight end has been an intermittent scoring threat in the red zone this season, but he has little to no value in terms of fantasy otherwise. This didn't change despite the barrage of injuries to the team's wide receiver room, as Cedrick Wilson (shoulder) was inactive while Chris Olave (concussion), Rashid Shaheed (knee) and Bub Means (ankle) are all on IR. Moreau has now totaled 12 catches (on 15 targets) for 167 yards and three touchdowns across 10 games. He'll look to find the end zone during next week's game versus the Browns on Sunday, Nov. 17.
Nov 3, 2024
Catches TD versus Carolina
Moreau logged one reception (on two targets) for 17 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 23-22 defeat against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau caught his third touchdown of the season when he hauled in a 17-yard pass from quarterback Derek Carr early in the fourth quarter. He still split playing time and targets with fellow tight end Juwan Johnson, who was targeted on the ensuring two-point conversion following Moreau's touchdown. Moreau has now totaled 12 catches across nine games this season. He'll look to get back into the end zone during this coming Sunday's home game against Atlanta.
Oct 19, 2024
Gets two targets in loss
Moreau reeled in all two targets for 38 yards during Thursday's 33-10 loss against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Moreau logged exactly two catches on exactly two targets for the third week in a row. He continued to play almost as many offensive snaps (42) as fellow tight end Juwan Johnson (51). However, the latter totaled four more targets than Moreau. The Saints have started to utilize both tight ends more over the last three games, but the absences of starting quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) and do-it-all tight end Taysom Hill (ribs) have severely impacted the team's overall offensive production. With Carr likely to remain out this coming week versus the Chargers, it's probably not worth picking up either Johnson or Moreau on the waiver wire in season-long fantasy formats.
Oct 13, 2024
Catches two passes versus Tampa Bay
Moreau hauled in both of his targets for 54 yards during Sunday's 51-27 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau logged over 40 receiving yards for the first time since Week 1. The 27-year-old also recorded a team-long 41-yard reception on a deep pass from rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler, who was starting in place of an injured Derek Carr (oblique). The Saints appear to use their tight ends more Week 6, though Juwan Johnson saw more of the benefits with three catches on three targets for 48 yards. Johnson has seen more consistent targets over the last three games while Moreau has totaled just four over this span. Moreau likely won't even warrant attention as a fringe waiver-wire pickup as long as Johnson commands the majority of usage at tight end for the Saints.
Oct 8, 2024
Hits pay dirt in loss
Moreau corralled both of his targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 26-13 loss to Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was the beneficiary of one of Derek Carr's two touchdown passes in Monday's loss to the reigning Super Bowl Champions. The veteran tight end had just one catch for two yards over his previous three contests, so this lone scoring performance shouldn't spark a frenzy to the waiver wire. Moreau and the Saints will prepare to host the Buccaneers in Week 6.
Sep 30, 2024
Sees decreased playing time Week 4
Moreau accrued zero targets during Sunday's 26-24 defeat against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Moreau played a season-low 57 percent of offensive snaps after playing at 71 percent in each of the previous three games. The 27-year-old has been listed as the Saints' starting tight end so far this season, but he was overshadowed by Juwan Johnson this week, as the latter logged two catches on three targets while playing 67 percent of offensive snaps. Moreau has now totaled two targets since his four-catch performance against Carolina in Week 1. It's unlikely that he'll get significantly more playing time during the Saints' next game versus the Chiefs on Monday, Oct. 7.
Sep 23, 2024
Serves as TE1 again
Moreau totaled one reception (on two targets) for two yards during Sunday's 15-12 loss versus the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Moreau worked his way back in as a receiving option after going without a target during last week's 44-19 win against Dallas. The 27-year-old tight end still didn't see any scoring opportunities, as New Orleans scored touchdowns on just one of three red-zone trips against Philadephia. However, he saw significantly more playing time than Juwan Johnson, tallying 40 offensive snaps compared to Johnson's 28. Through three weeks, Moreau looks like he's valued into the top option at tight end, but he's still logged just five catches on six targets over this span. With new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's scheme seeming to favor the running game and wide receiver passing game, it's unlikely that Moreau will fetch much fantasy value even if he maintains a starting job moving forward.
Sep 15, 2024
Has touchdown wiped away in win
Moreau logged zero targets during Sunday's 44-19 victory over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Moreau once again started Sunday after suffering a concussion during last week's win against the Panthers. The 27-year-old didn't get much of any looks during what was a clinical performance for quarterback Derek Carr, who went 11-for-16 passing for 243 yards and two touchdowns to one interception. However, Moreau would have recorded a 26-yard touchdown catch of his own early in the third quarter, but this was play was nullified by an ineligible downfield player penalty, thus setting up running back Alvin Kamara for his fourth and final touchdown rush later in the drive. Moreau still appeared to play as much or more than Juwan Johnson, who also finished with a target Sunday. It will be worth monitoring if either Moreau or Johnson see any sort of meaningful target share during next Sunday's contest versus Philadelphia.
Sep 13, 2024
Good to go
Moreau (concussion) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Dallas, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was a limited practice participant Wednesday before upgrading to full Thursday and Friday. The lack of an injury designation suggests he's already cleared concussion protocol and will handle his norma role against the Cowboys. Moreau ran routes on only 44 percent of the Saints' pass plays in a Week 1 blowout of the Panthers, but he played 77 percent of snaps overall and put up a 4-43-1 receiving line with four targets on his 11 routes.
Sep 12, 2024
Puts in full practice
Moreau (concussion) was a full practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
After he was a limited participant in the Saints' first Week 2 practice Wednesday, Moreau took a step forward by increasing his activity Thursday. Though Moreau is trending in the right direction as Sunday's game against the Cowboys approaches, the Saints haven't yet confirmed that the tight end has cleared the five-step concussion protocol. He'll need to attain clearance from an independent neurologist before being removed from the protocol and guaranteeing his availability for Sunday.
Sep 11, 2024
Has concussion, but limited
Moreau practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday due to a concussion.
ANALYSIS
Moreau departed in the fourth quarter of this past Sunday's win against the Panthers to be evaluated for a head injury and was quickly ruled out. The Saints unsurprisingly are listing the tight end with a concussion this week, but his ability to handle some on-field work Wednesday indicates he's making progress through the five-step protocol for head injuries. In any case, Moreau will need to be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to play in Sunday's game at Dallas.
Sep 8, 2024
Suffers head injury Sunday
Moreau won't return to Sunday's game versus the Panthers due to a head injury, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau made a visit to the sideline tent in the fourth quarter before the Saints made a ruling on his status. He'll thus finish Week 1 with four catches (on four targets) for 43 yards and one touchdown. His target count surprisingly was ahead of fellow TEs Juwan Johnson (three) and Taysom Hill (two), but assuming he entered the concussion protocol, Moreau will need to complete its five steps in order to be cleared for his next game action.
Aug 22, 2024
Healthy ahead of Week 1
Moreau is healthy in advance of the 2024 season, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
ANALYSIS
After free agency opened in March 2023, Moreau underwent a physical with the Saints, which revealed a diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He immediately began treatment, signed a contract with New Orleans in May and was deemed to be in remission in early July. He proceeded to play in 15 regular-season games en route to a 21-193-1 line on 25 targets, but he revealed that the ankle injury that forced DNPs in Weeks 3 and 4 impacted him the rest of the way and eventually resulted in surgery in early January. With a little more than two weeks remaining before the 2024 campaign, Moreau is positioned behind Juwan Johnson on the TE depth chart, likely leaving him with a similar role to last year.
Jan 7, 2024
Grabs late pass in win
Moreau gathered in his only target for three yards during Sunday's 48-17 win versus Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Moreau caught one pass for the third week in a row, though he totaled his fewest receiving yards of any game in which he caught at least one pass this season. The 26-year-old finishes his first campaign in New Orleans with 21 receptions (on 25 targets) for 193 yards and one touchdown across 15 games.
Dec 31, 2023
Minor role again Week 17
Moreau caught his only target for 13 yards during Sunday's 23-13 victory over the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau logged exactly 13 receiving yards for the third week in a row. However, he recorded his lowest of number of targets over this span, as he had totaled 11 targets over the previous four games. The 26-year-old took a backseat role behind top tight end Juwan Johnson, who recorded team highs in targets (12), receptions (eight) and yards (90) versus Tampa Bay. The latter tight end seems to have reclaimed his role as New Orleans' top tight end over the past two games, as he has now logged 19 targets over the past two games after totaling just eight over the previous three contests. With Johnson and No. 1 wideout Chris Olave in position as the team's top pass catchers to go along with numerous other receiving options, Moreau's workload should remain minimal Week 18 against Atlanta.
Dec 23, 2023
Plays smaller role in loss
Moreau totaled one reception (on two targets) for 13 yards during Thursday's 30-22 defeat to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
After back-to-back weeks as the Saints' feature tight end, Moreau took a backseat role behind Juwan Johnson, as the latter played increased offensive snaps (42) and caught four of seven targets and saw increased offensive snaps (42) Thursday. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old Moreau's playing time took a dip, as he played just 40 percent of offensive snaps compared to 63 and 72 percent of offensive snaps in the previous two contests. Johnson also previously played a larger offensive role before dealing with a lingering quad injury for three weeks. Barring injury, it's likely than Johnson will now reprise this larger role over Moreau for the final two weeks of the regular season.
Dec 17, 2023
Tallies 13 yards in win
Moreau hauled in three of five targets for 13 yards during Sunday's 24-6 victory against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Moreau saw a bump in usage for the third week in a row, as the 26-year-old logged a season high in targets while also tying for his second-most receptions of any game this year. Fellow Saints tight ends Juwan Johnson and Jimmy Graham each logged two receptions on two targets; but, these two also each caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Derek Carr, who threw a season-high three touchdowns. This group has taken on a larger role as of late with Michael Thomas (knee) on IR, and the absence of No. 1 wideout Chris Olave (ankle) on Sunday likely heightened this even further. Yet, Moreau has accumulated just seven catches (on nine targets) for 49 yards and zero touchdowns over the last three games. Unless he finds the end zone, his relevance in fantasy will likely remain minimal during Thursday's matchup versus the Rams.
Dec 11, 2023
Plays slightly bigger role Week 14
Moreau logged two catches (on two targets) for eight yards during Sunday's 28-6 win against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau played at least 60 percent of offensive snaps for the second week in a row after doing so just twice across his first nine appearances of the year. The 26-year-old likely saw a bump in playing time due to the absence of Taysom Hill (foot) combined with a smaller showing for Juwan Johnson, as the latter played just 40 percent of offensive snaps after being limited with a quad issue during Week 14 prep. Moreau and Johnson still tied with 37-year-old tight end Jimmy Graham in terms of both targets and receptions Sunday. Graham was also the only member of this position group to catch a touchdown pass Sunday, as he's seemingly become one of the Saints' go-to targets in the red zone as of late. Moreau has now caught all but one of his 16 targets for 151 yards and a touchdown across 11 games this season. Expect him to continue seeing limited production as the Saints employ a balanced snap rotation at tight end during the Week 15 game versus the Giants.
Dec 4, 2023
Pair of catches in Week 13 loss
Moreau brought in both targets for 28 yards in the Saints' 33-28 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
On a day when Rashid Shaheed's absence due to a thigh injury further atrophied a Saints receiving corps already down Michael Thomas (IR-knee), Moreau stepped up to provide some pass-catching production in the narrow loss. The fifth-year pro's two catches were his first since Week 9, while his yardage total was his second highest in a game this season. Moreau is likely to continue in a strict complementary role with sparse opportunity during a Week 14 home matchup against the Panthers.
Nov 28, 2023
No targets in Week 12
Moreau played 31 of the Saints' 72 snaps on offense and didn't draw a target in Sunday's 24-15 loss to the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Despite playing at least 30 percent of the snaps in each of the Saints' last four games, Moreau has drawn just one target in that span while he's been deployed primarily as a blocker. Moreau's downturn in involvement in the passing game has coincided with the return of top tight end Juwan Johnson, who has played the past four games after being sidelined from Weeks 4 through 7 with a calf injury.
Oct 20, 2023
Solid outing marred by bad drop
Moreau accrued three receptions (on four targets) for 33 yards during Thursday's 31-24 loss against Jacksonville.
ANALYSIS
Moreau once again slotted in as the Saints' top tight end with usual starter Juwan Johnson (calf) out for the fourth week in a row. The 26-year-old got out to a strong start in this step-up spot, but he failed to corral a potential game-tying touchdown pass from Derek Carr on the Saints' final offensive series. Moreau has now recorded four targets in back-to-back contests, totaling 66 receiving yards. With hybrid tight end Taysom Hill set to fulfill more of a jack-of-all-trades role, expect Moreau to continue serving as the Saints starting tight end if Johnson remains sidelined against the Bears on Sunday, Oct. 29.
Oct 15, 2023
Season-best stat line in loss
Moreau reeled in all four targets for 33 yards during Sunday's 20-13 defeat against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Moreau benefited from this uncharacteristically passing-centric outing for the Saints' offense, as he logged more than two receptions and 20 receiving yards for the first time this season. Fellow tight end Juwan Johnson (calf) missed his third game in a row while quarterback Derek Carr attempted a season-high 50 passes. Therefore, it's not surprising that Moreau would see an uptick in his production in this contest. The 26-year-old still logged the team's fifth-most targets and sixth-most receiving yards, and he's now totaled seven receptions (on seven targets) for 59 yards and one touchdown over four games played. Expect Moreau to once again take a backseat role if Johnson returns for Thursday night's Week 7 matchup against Jacksonville.
Oct 9, 2023
Catches first TD with NOLA
Moreau gathered in his only target for six yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 34-0 win against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
After missing the past two games with an ankle injury, Moreau stepped up into a starting role with usual No. 1 tight end Juwan Johnson (calf) sidelined Week 5. As a result, the 26-year-old was the beneficiary of a special goal-line package that resulted in the Saints' final touchdown of the game, catching a shovel pass on the move before barreling his way into the end zone for a six-yard score in the fourth quarter This marked just the third target and reception for Moreau this season. While he's played just over 50 percent of offensive snaps across his three games this season, it seems unlikely that Moreau will see much of a role in the receiving game - especially if Johnson returns for the Week 6 contest against Houston.
Oct 4, 2023
Full practice Wednesday
Moreau (ankle) was a full participant at the Saints' practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Moreau has missed the last two games while nursing an ankle injury, but he now appears ready to go ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Patriots. With Juwan Johnson (calf) unable to practice Wednesday, it's possible that Moreau is thrust into a starting role against New England if Johnson can't play.
Oct 1, 2023
Not playing Sunday
Moreau (ankle) is inactive Sunday against the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau closed out the week with back-to-back limited practices, but the LSU product is still not healthy enough to take the field. His absence should open up more opportunities for Jimmy Graham and possibly Taysom Hill.
Sep 29, 2023
Questionable against Bucs
Moreau (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was a limited participant in practice Thursday and Friday after Wednesday's DNP. He's looking to return after a one-game absence. If the tight end suits up, it remains to be seen who will be throwing him the ball, as Derek Carr (shoulder) is also questionable.
Sep 28, 2023
Ramps up activity
Moreau (ankle ) was a limited participant during practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Moreau is moving in the right direction after logging a DNP on Wednesday. The fifth-year pro missed the team's Week 3 loss to the Packers but appears to still have a chance to suit up for Week 4 against Tampa Bay.
Sep 27, 2023
Remains sidelined
Moreau (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau closed out last week with a limited practice before being ruled out for the team's Week 3 loss to the Packers, so this seems like a potential step in the wrong direction. However, he'll try to return to the field Thursday as he works to be prepared to play Sunday against the Buccaneers.
Sep 23, 2023
Not playing against Green Bay
Moreau (ankle) was ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Packers, Erin Summers of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This isn't exactly surprising as Moreau was listed as doubtful following Friday's injury report. The former Raiders tight end has just two catches to his name with the Saints, but he's played 68 total offensive snaps through two weeks. Expect Juwan Johnson to see significant playing time with Jimmy Graham and Taysom Hill also mixing in on occasion.
Sep 22, 2023
Doubtful for Week 3
Moreau (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game in Green Bay, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau practiced in a limited capacity Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice. If Moreau sits out Sunday's game as expected, Jimmy Graham could see extended action behind Juwan Johnson, with more snaps at tight end possibly going to the versatile Taysom Hill as well.
Sep 21, 2023
Upgraded to limited Thursday
Moreau (ankle) was upgraded to a limited practice Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was listed as DNP on Wednesday's practice report, so this is a step in the right direction for him ahead of Week 3 versus Green Bay. On 48 percent of the offensive snaps, Moreau has two catches for 20 scoreless yards on two targets.
Sep 20, 2023
Misses practice with ankle injury
Moreau (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Luke Johnson of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau's nursing an ankle injury two days after Monday's 20-17 win over the Panthers, in which the tight end had two catches for 20 yards. He'll have two more opportunities to resume practicing before Sunday's game in Green Bay.
Sep 19, 2023
Grabs two catches Monday night
Moreau reeled in both two targets for 20 yards during Monday's 20-17 win against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau tied with running back Tony Jones and super-utility player Taysom Hill for the Saints' fifth-most targets against the Panthers. The 26-year-old logged more receiving yards than starting tight end Juwan Johnson (13), though he still finished far behind starting wideouts Chris Olave (86), Rashid Shaheed (63) and Michael Thomas (55). Moreau also played significantly fewer offensive snaps (36) than Johnson (62), as the latter still appears firmly entrenched as New Orleans' TE1. Moreau should continue to serve a relatively negligible receiving role when the Saints travel to Green Bay on Sunday.
Sep 11, 2023
Lacks involvement in loss
Moreau had zero targets during Sunday's 16-15 victory against Tennessee.
ANALYSIS
Moreau's debut with the Saints was rather forgettable, as he never logged a target while playing 32 offensive snaps behind starting tight end Juwan Johnson (49), the latter of whom recorded three catches of five targets. The Saints' third tight end Jimmy Graham ultimately played just nine offensive snaps during his return from a year-long hiatus yesterday. Moreau totaled career-highs in receptions (33), targets (54) and receiving yards (420) while playing in Las Vegas with Derek Carr for much of last season. While his Week 1 stat line was far from stellar, the 26-year-old's familiarity with the Saints' new starting quarterback provides optimism for his usage moving forward.
Jul 3, 2023
Deemed to be in remission
Moreau announced on Twitter Monday that he's in full remission from Hodgkin's lymphoma.
ANALYSIS
It's tremendous news after the Saints discovered Moreau's cancer in a free agency visit physical back in March. Moreau eventually signed a three-year deal with New Orleans and was even fully participating in OTAs and minicamp this spring. He's expected to complement Juwan Johnson atop the Saints' tight end depth chart this season.
May 23, 2023
Doing everything at Saints' OTAs
Moreau (illness) participated in Tuesday's OTAs practice, Ross Jackson of Saints News Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma earlier in the offseason but is already doing "everything" at practice, per Jackson. He ran routes and caught passes at Tuesday's session. Moreau should be a fixture in New Orleans' offense after inking a three-year, $12.234 million deal to compete with Juwan Johnson for No. 1 tight end duties. Moreau, of course, already has familiarity with new Saints QB Derek Carr from their time together with the Raiders.
May 10, 2023
Links up with Saints
Moreau (illness) agreed to terms with the Saints on a three-year, $12 million contract Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau's diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma was initially discovered during a physical with New Orleans during the early portion of free agency, and he now ultimately signs with the same team. Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, Moreau's recovery is progressing positively and he plans to play in 2023. He could play a significant role in a tight end corps also headlined by Juwan Johnson and Taysom Hill.
May 10, 2023
Links up with Saints
Moreau (illness) agreed to terms Wednesday with the Saints on a three-year, $12 million contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma after he took a physical with New Orleans during the early portion of free agency, and he'll now ultimately signs with the same team, reuniting with quarterback Derek Carr in the process. Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, Moreau's recovery is progressing positively, and the 26-year-old plans to play in 2023. Moreau could play a significant role in a tight-end corps headlined by Juwan Johnson and hybrid player Taysom Hill. During the 2022 season, Moreau caught 33 passes (on 54 targets) for 420 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games with the Raiders.
Mar 22, 2023
Diagnosed with cancer
Moreau announced on his personal Twitter account Wednesday that he's "stepping away from football at this time to fight a new opponent: Cancer."
ANALYSIS
Moreau noted that during a routine physical with the Saints, the team discovered that the free agent tight end has Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He'll now focus on treatment of the disease, with no timetable for when he may be healthy enough to play again, if at all.
Jan 17, 2023
Career-high 54 targets in 2022
Moreau closed out his 2022 campaign with 33 catches for 420 yards and two touchdowns on 54 targets in 15 games.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was credited with 14 starts and he filled in as the Raiders' No. 1 tight end when Darren Waller was sidelined for eight straight contests due to injury, but Moreau found the end zone just twice all year and never recorded more than 55 receiving yards in a single game. The 2019 fourth-rounder's rookie contract expires as he becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason, so Moreau could land elsewhere in 2023.
Jan 2, 2023
Season-high 55 yards in loss
Moreau caught all three of his targets for 55 yards in Sunday's 37-34 overtime loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau managed to post a season-high 55 receiving yards despite fellow tight end Darren Waller also erupting for 72 yards and a score on three catches. Moreau actually out-snapped Waller in the contest, but the latter remains a more legitimate receiving threat ahead of the Raiders' Week 18 tilt against the Chiefs.
Dec 18, 2022
Headed back to No. 2 role
Moreau is expected to move back to the No. 2 role at tight end Sunday against the Patriots after the Raiders activated Darren Waller (hamstring) from injured reserve Saturday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Even if Waller is some kind of snap-count restriction in his first game since Week 5, his return in any capacity is still likely to push Moreau off the fantasy radar in most leagues. While serving as the Raiders' starting tight end in each of the team's last eight games, Moreau played at least 90 percent of the offensive snaps on every occasion while stringing together a 19-242-2 receiving line on 37 targets. In the three games this season in which both he and Waller have been available, Moraeu has handled snap shares between 32 and 62 percent while drawing eight total targets.
Dec 12, 2022
Held catchless Thursday
Moreau failed to catch his only target in Thursday's 17-16 loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Moreau posted a complete dud in what could turn out to be his last chance as the Raiders' No. 1 option at tight end this season, with Darren Waller (hamstring) possibly on track to return from injured reserve Week 15 against the Patriots. Regardless, Moreau hasn't caught more than three passes in a single contest since Week 8.
Dec 5, 2022
Makes 32-yard grab in win
Moreau caught one of three targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau briefly exited Sunday's contest in the first half to be evaluated for a concussion, but he returned in a timely fashion to ultimately play 55 of the Raiders' 61 offensive snaps. However, he's now been held to just one reception in two of the team's past three games. Fellow tight end Darren Waller (hamstring) is eligible to return from IR in Week 14, but his availability for Thursday's tilt against the Rams is in question given the quick turnaround.
Dec 4, 2022
Returns to Sunday's game
Moreau returned to Sunday's game against the Chargers after being evaluated for a concussion.
ANALYSIS
Good news for the Raiders, who entered the game shorthanded at tight end, with Darren Waller (hamstring) on IR and Jesper Horsted out with a concussion.
Dec 4, 2022
Evaluated for concussion
Moreau is being evaluated for a concussion during Sunday's game against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Prior to his exit Sunday, Moreau did not record a catch. In his absence, Jacob Hollister is slated to handle the Raiders' tight end duties versus Los Angeles.
Nov 27, 2022
Hauls in clutch TD in OT win
Moreau caught three of seven targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 40-34 overtime win over the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
The tight end had trouble converting his opportunities early but Moreau came through when it counted, hauling in a five-yard toss from Derek Carr in the back of the end zone with just under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to send the game to OT. Moreau has two touchdowns on the season, both coming in the last three games, and with Darren Waller (hamstring) out for at least one more week he'll head up the depth chart once again in Week 13 against the Chargers.
Nov 20, 2022
Non-factor in win
Moreau recorded one catch on three targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 22-16 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Moreau earned his fewest targets since Week 1 and was held without a catch until the second play in overtime. He did make the most of his one reception and now has one gain of 20 or more yards in each of his last three games. Entering Sunday's matchup, Moreau had recorded multiple receptions in each of his last six games, though he's failed to produce many big performances in the absence of Darren Waller (hamstring).
Nov 13, 2022
Scores first TD of year
Moreau caught three of four targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-20 loss to the Colts.
ANALYSIS
With Darren Waller (hamstring) on injured reserve, Moreau once again served as the Raiders' top tight end and hauled in his first TD of the year on a four-yard toss from Derek Carr in the second quarter. Moreau has caught multiple passes in six straight games, although that streak was interrupted by a two-week absence due to a knee injury, and he figures to have a larger role in the offense again in Week 11 against the Broncos.
Nov 10, 2022
Gets longer leash as top tight end
Moreau is expected to serve as the Raiders' top tight end for at least the team's next four games following Darren Waller's (hamstring) placement on injured reserve Thursday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Waller has been sidelined since exiting early in a Week 5 loss to the Chiefs with a strained left hamstring, and though he had been a limited participant in practice as recently as Wednesday, he clearly wasn't making as much progress as the Raiders had opened. Las Vegas will opt to shut Waller down for the next month with the hope that it allows him to return for the stretch run of the season in optimal health, but his continued absence in the meantime clears the way for Moreau to dominate the reps at tight end. While Waller was sidelined for the past three games, Moreau logged snap shares between 96 and 100 percent in each of those contests while stringing together a 11-101-0 receiving line on 19 targets.
Nov 6, 2022
Manages 42 yards
Moreau recorded two receptions on five targets for 42 yards in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was the Raiders' primary tight end for the third consecutive game in the absence of Darren Waller (hamstring). He did the majority of his damage on a 30-yard reception early in the second quarter, which helped set up a long touchdown pass to Davante Adams. In the last three games without Waller, Moreau has seen a minimum of five targets -- though that's translated to only 101 total yards.
Nov 6, 2022
Draws another start
Moreau is slated to serve as the Raiders' starting tight end Sunday at Jacksonville with Darren Waller (hamstring) inactive for the contest, Bill Williamson of SilverAndBlackPride.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Waller practiced on a limited basis throughout the week, the Raiders aren't taking any chances with their top tight end, who will miss his third consecutive game. Moreau proved to be an adequate fill-in option in the previous two contests, putting together a 9-59-0 receiving line on 14 targets between those games. The 25-year-old looks like a low-end startable tight end in the majority of fantasy leagues this week.
Oct 30, 2022
Makes six grabs
Moreau caught six of nine targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 24-0 loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Moreau started with Darren Waller (hamstring) sidelined. Although his yardage wasn't anything special, Moreau led the Raiders in targets and ranked second in receptions. A capable fill-in player, Moreau's stock in Week 9's matchup versus the Jaguars will depend on whether Waller can return or not.
Oct 30, 2022
In line to fill in for Waller
With Darren Waller (hamstring) inactive, Moreau is in line to see added tight end snaps Sunday against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
With Waller out in Week 7, Moreau caught three of five targets for 28 yards in last weekend's 38-20 win over the Texans. The 2019 fourth-rounder thus represents a Week 8 fantasy lineup option for those who roster Waller or are otherwise scrambling for short-term TE help.
Oct 24, 2022
Five targets in win
Moreau caught three of five targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 38-20 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Moreau drew the start at tight end in his return from a two-game absence while Darren Waller (hamstring) remained on the shelf, and the former finished the contest behind only Davante Adams in targets for the Raiders. Moreau's increased involvement should continue against the Saints in Week 8 if Waller is limited or absent.
Oct 21, 2022
Set for more work in Week 7
Moreau (knee) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game versus the Texans, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Coming off a two-game absence and with the benefit of Las Vegas' Week 6 bye, Moreau put himself in position to return to action this weekend with a full practice Friday, which followed back-to-back capped sessions to start the week. With Darren Waller (hamstring) not playing Sunday, Moreau is in line to take on the bulk of the TE reps for the team this weekend. In his three appearances in 2022, Moreau has notched a 6-74-0 line on eight targets, of which the latter mark should increase in the short term.
Oct 20, 2022
Still limited at practice
Moreau (knee) logged another limited practice Thursday, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
With back-to-back limited sessions under his belt, Moreau is trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's game against the Texans. Meanwhile, Darren Waller missed his second straight practice with a hamstring injury. If Waller ends up out this weekend, Moreau could be a decent Week 7 streaming option if he's cleared to play versus Houston.
Oct 19, 2022
Limited during practice Wednesday
Moreau (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite coming off a bye week, Moreau was once again limited in practice after missing the Raiders' last two games with a knee injury. The 25-year-old previously returned to practice in a limited fashion before sitting out Las Vegas' Week 5 loss to the Chiefs. Moreau will look to increase his practice activity either Thursday or Friday; otherwise, the Raiders may be extremely thin at tight end Sunday against the Texans, as starter Darren Waller (hamstring) also sat out practice Wednesday.
Oct 19, 2022
Practices Wednesday
Moreau practiced Wednesday, Levi Edwards of the Raiders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau sat out back-to-back games due to a knee injury and is looking to make his return to game action following the Raiders' Week 6 bye. Before being ruled out for Week 5, Moreau returned to practice as a limited participant for the first time since the injury. His official participation Wednesday has yet to be released, but he'll likely need to log at least one full practice before being cleared for Sunday's matchup against the Texans.
Oct 10, 2022
Inactive Monday
Moreau (knee) is inactive for Monday night's game against the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
With Moreau unavailable, look for Darren Waller to log the bulk of the Raiders' tight end snaps Monday, with Jesper Horsted in reserve. Moreau will now target a potential return to action in Week 7, following his team's bye week.
Oct 8, 2022
Questionable for Monday
Moreau (knee) is questionable for Monday's game against the Chiefs, Josh Dubow of The Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau did manage to practice in limited fashion Saturday, his first practice in two consecutive weeks, but it's entirely possible the tight end could still be unavailable for the AFC West divisional matchup. Starting tight end Darren Waller is a full go for the prime-time matchup, which will likely limit whoever ends up as the No. 2 option come Monday.
Oct 5, 2022
Still not practicing
Moreau (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau picked up the knee injury during the team's Week 3 loss to the Titans and has yet to practice since. He's trending towards a second straight absence, but he'll have two more opportunities to return to practice before the team needs to make a decision on his status for Week 5. If he's ruled out again, expect Jesper Horsted to continue operating as the top backup behind Darren Waller.
Sep 30, 2022
Ruled out for Week 4
Moreau (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Broncos, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau didn't practice all week due to a knee injury he presumably picked up during the team's Week 3 loss to the Titans, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out. In his absence, Jesper Horsted is expected to operate as the backup tight end behind Darren Waller, while Cole Fotheringham could be elevated from the practice squad.
Sep 29, 2022
Remains sidelined
Moreau (knee) was unable to practice Thursday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau missed his second consecutive practice leaving his status for Sunday against the Broncos in question. The fourth-year tight end will likely need to participate in some fashion tomorrow, or he'll likely be trending much closer to doubtful for the contest. If he is unable to play, Jesper Horsted will slide up to the No. 2 tight end spot behind Darren Waller, while a practice squad elevation of Cole Fotheringham would be likely.
Sep 28, 2022
Sidelined Wednesday
Moreau (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau appears to be dealing with a knee injury following Sunday's loss to the Titans, though the exact nature and severity of this issue are unclear. The 25-year-old recorded six receptions for 74 yards while playing 90 offensive snaps as the Raiders' No. 2 tight end over the first three weeks of the season. If this issue continues to keep Moreau out of practice Thursday and Friday, then Jesper Horsted will step up behind Darren Waller during Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Sep 26, 2022
Another three-catch performance
Moreau caught three passes for 44 yards on five targets in Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Moreau matched Darren Waller in both receptions and targets, but the former paced the Raiders' TE unit with 44 yards to Waller's 22. Moreau also played half of the team's 70 offensive snaps, though his fantasy value remains limited with Waller at full strength ahead of a Week 4 matchup against the Broncos.
Sep 19, 2022
Three catches in overtime loss
Moreau caught three passes for 30 yards on four targets in Sunday's 29-23 overtime loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Moreau, who logged 18 offensive snaps in the season opener, saw an uptick in playing time against Arizona on Sunday while the Raiders built an early lead. The team's No. 2 tight end took advantage with three receptions in the first half, though Darren Waller still managed to steal the spotlight as he racked up six catches for 50 yards and a score on eight targets. Moreau's fantasy relevance remains limited to the deepest of leagues as the Raiders head to Tennessee for their Week 3 matchup.
Sep 13, 2022
Not targeted in opener
Moreau was held without a target in the Raiders' season opener against the Chargers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Moreau saw the field for just 18 of the Raiders' 58 offensive snaps, and he was uninvolved in the passing game behind No. 1 tight end Darren Waller, who caught four passes for 79 yards on six targets. Moreau's role should remain relatively unchanged against the Cardinals in Week 2 with Waller at full strength.
Aug 5, 2022
One grab in preseason opener
Moreau brought in his only target for 10 yards during the Raiders' 27-11 preseason win over the Jaguars in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game.
ANALYSIS
With Darren Waller (undisclosed) sitting out the game, Moreau drew the start at tight end. Looking ahead to the coming season, the 2019 fourth-round pick will be aiming to build on the career-best 30-373-3 line he logged over 17 games last season while slotting in as Waller's direct backup and likely sharing the field with him on occasion in two-tight-end sets as well.
Jan 11, 2022
Posts 50 receiving yards Sunday
Moreau caught two passes on as many targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 35-32 overtime win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Despite fellow tight end Darren Waller's return from a five-game absence, Moreau managed to record his longest reception of the season with a 44-yard pickup on the Raiders' opening drive. He finishes the regular season with 30 catches for 373 yards and three touchdowns on 44 targets in 17 contests. The LSU product, who enters the final year of his rookie contract in 2022, will look to make an impact behind Waller in a wild-card matchup against the Bengals on Saturday.
Jan 2, 2022
Role slips
Moreau recorded one reception on one target for nine yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Moreau served the Raiders' top tight end once again in the absence of Darren Waller (knee/back/illness), though he failed to take on a significant role. His lone reception came on the team's final drive, though it did help move the ball down the field for the game-winning field goal. Looking ahead, Moreau could be even more limited in his role in Week 18 against the Chargers if Waller is ready to return to the field.
Dec 26, 2021
Leads Raiders in receiving
Moreau caught all four of his targets for 67 yards in Sunday's 17-13 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
He led the Raiders in receiving yards on the afternoon, although Zay Jones saw more targets and had more receptions, and Hunter Renfrow was on the other end of Derek Carr's only TD. Moreau has managed a respectable 14-145-0 line on 19 targets over the last three games, but his run of modest fantasy value could end in Week 17 if Darren Waller (knee/back) is ready to return to action.
Dec 26, 2021
Set to fill in for Waller again
Moreau is in line to continue to head the Raiders' tight end corps in Sunday's game against the Broncos, with Darren Waller (knee/back) inactive.
ANALYSIS
With Waller missing his fourth straight game, Moreau will look to build off his effort in this past Monday's win over the Browns, in which he caught seven of his nine targets for 65 yards, while playing all 69 of the Raiders' snaps on offense. He figures to remain busy once again Sunday, with the team down another key pass catcher (Bryan Edwards/reserve/COVID-19 list) in addition to Waller.
Dec 24, 2021
On track to start again
Moreau (abdomen/thigh) was cleared from the injury report Friday, while teammate Darren Waller was listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against Denver.
ANALYSIS
With Waller likely out for a fourth straight game, Moreau will look to pick up where he left off last week when he caught seven of nine targets for 65 yards in a win over Cleveland. The 24-year-old TE was less impressive the two weeks before that, catching only four of nine targets for 47 yards while playing 85 and 98 percent of snaps on offense. He's no Waller, of course, but Moreau has filled an every-down role nonetheless with his talented teammate unavailable.
Dec 22, 2021
Listed as limited Wednesday
Moreau (abdomen/thigh) was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's walkthrough, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was on the field for all 69 of the Raiders' snaps on offense in Monday's win over the Browns, so his listed limitations Wednesday could simply be a case of the team acknowledging that he came out of a busy Week 15 with some aches and pains. Meanwhile, Darren Waller (knee/back) logged a 'DNP' Wednesday, so provided Moreau's injury issues aren't a big concern, there's a decent chance he could head the Raiders' tight end corps again Sunday against the Broncos.
Dec 20, 2021
Seven catches in Monday's win
Moreau caught seven of nine targets for 65 yards in Monday's 16-14 win over Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Moreau filled in admirably for Darren Waller (knee/back) in this one, leading the Raiders in catches and tying Zay Jones for the team lead in targets while trailing Jones by two receiving yards for the game's high-water mark. If Waller's not ready to return in Week 16 against the Broncos, Moreau would retain the starting tight end job and the attention from quarterback Derek Carr that comes with that role.

Raiders-Browns moved to Monday
Moreau and the Raiders will no longer play the Browns on Saturday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Monday at 5 p.m. ET.
ANALYSIS
Due to ongoing COVID-19-related issues within the Cleveland organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, the Browns will restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster. Assuming the Week 15 game is played Monday as planned, Moreau and Las Vegas will face a quick turnaround for its Week 16 contest versus the Broncos, which is still expected to be played Sunday, Dec. 26 as scheduled. Moreau will be picking up his third straight start Monday, as Las Vegas had already ruled top tight end Darren Waller (knee/back) out before the game was pushed back.
Dec 16, 2021
Cleared for third straight start
Moreau (abdomen) remained a limited participant in Thursday's practice but doesn't have an injury designation for Saturday's game against the Browns, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Las Vegas capped Moreau's reps throughout the week, he displayed enough progress in his recovery from the abdominal injury for the Raiders to give him the green light for the weekend. Meanwhile, Darren Waller (knee/back) failed to practice in any capacity and will miss his third straight game, paving the way for Moreau to pick up another start. In his previous two outings while filling in for Waller, Moreau was on the field for 106 of the Raiders' 116 offensive snaps (91.4 percent) and stringed together a 4-47-0 receiving line on nine targets.
Dec 15, 2021
Listed as limited again
Moreau (abdomen) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
ANALYSIS
Both Moreau and starting tight end Daren Waller (DNP - knee/back) get the same designation as Tuesday. Interim coach Rich Bisaccia called Moreau day-to-day on Monday, less than 24 hours after the tight end played 98 percent of snaps on offense in a 48-9 loss to the Chiefs. Despite playing at least 85 percent of snaps in three straight games, Moreau has caught only five passes for 50 yards on 14 targets in that span.
Dec 14, 2021
Listed with abdominal injury
Moreau (abdomen) was listed as limited on Tuesday's practice estimate, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Interim coach Rich Bisaccia called Moreau "day-to-day " on Monday due to an undisclosed strained muscle, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic. Its nature has been revealed to be an abdominal strain, but Moreau still appears to be in better shape than No. 1 tight end Darren Waller (knee/back), who hasn't practiced in any capacity since he was forced out of the Raiders' Week 12 win in Dallas. If Waller again is sidelined Saturday at Cleveland, Moreau would be in line for another large workload, assuming he's active.
Dec 13, 2021
Banged up following Sunday's loss
Raiders interim head coach Rich Bisaccia said Moreau is day-to-day with a muscle strain suffered in Sunday's 48-9 loss to the Chiefs, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
While picking up starts the past two weeks in place of top tight end Darren Waller, Moreau has seen heavy snap shares on offense (84 and 98 percent), but he's produced an underwhelming 4-47-0 receiving line on nine targets. Both of Las Vegas' top options at the position are now looking iffy for a Saturday game in Cleveland in Week 15, as Bisaccia suggested that Waller will be viewed as questionable heading into that contest. It's unclear if Moreau is any healthier at this stage, but the Raiders' upcoming practice reports will provide a better gauge for which direction both tight ends are trending in as Saturday's game approaches.
Dec 12, 2021
Only 13 yards
Moreau recorded three receptions on six targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 48-9 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Moreau earned his second consecutive start with Darren Waller (knee) sidelined. Though he improved on the one-target performance from Week 13, Moreau was limited to only short gains on his trio of catches. In two games in Waller's absence, Moreau has failed to make an impact by logging a combined four receptions for 47 yards.
Dec 10, 2021
Another spot start on tap
Moreau will serve as the Raiders' top tight end Sunday at Kansas City with Darren Waller (knee/back) ruled out for the contest, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
In Waller's first absence this past Sunday against Washington, Moreau earned 84 percent of Las Vegas' snaps on offense, but he only hauled in one of three targets for 34 yards. Moreau again is poised for a large workload, which he'll seek to take advantage of versus a Chiefs defense that has surrendered 8.2 yards per target (second most in the NFL) and six touchdowns (10th most) to tight ends in 12 games this season.
Dec 6, 2021
One reception in Waller's absence
Moreau caught one of three targets for 34 yards in Sunday's 17-15 loss to Washington.
ANALYSIS
Moreau's three targets all came within a two-drive span during the third quarter, so he was relatively uninvolved in the Raiders' underwhelming aerial attack throughout much of Sunday's contest despite the absence of No. 1 tight end Darren Waller (back/knee). Moreau has caught just three total passes since the team's Week 8 bye, but he could see another inflated snap count at Kansas City in Week 14 if Waller remains sidelined.
Dec 3, 2021
Likely to replace Waller
Moreau is expected to serve as the Raiders' top tight end Sunday against Washington with Darren Waller (back/knee) listed as doubtful for the contest, Josh Dubow of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Waller wasn't able to practice in any fashion Wednesday through Friday, so barring some dramatic improvement leading up to Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff, he'll be inactive for the second time this season. When Waller sat out Week 7 against the Eagles with an ankle injury, Moreau stepped in to play all of the Raiders' 63 offensive snaps and finished with a 6-60-1 receiving line on six targets. He actually handled more snaps (69) following Waller's early exit in the Raiders' Thanksgiving Day win over the Cowboys, but Moreau reeled in only one of his five targets for a three-yard gain. Moreau thus looks like a somewhat volatile fantasy option for Week 13, even with another heavy snap share seemingly on the horizon.
Nov 30, 2021
Held to one catch in Dallas
Moreau caught one of five targets for three yards in the Raiders' 36-33 overtime victory over the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day.
ANALYSIS
Moreau played a season-high 77 offensive snaps against Dallas as No. 1 tight end Darren Waller exited the contest with a knee injury. The latter is now considered week-to-week, so Moreau could be in line for a significant role against Washington in Week 13. When Waller missed the Raiders' Week 7 tilt versus the Eagles, Moreau was able to capitalize with six catches on as many targets for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Nov 15, 2021
Role declining since Waller return
Moreau played 21 of the Raiders' 54 offensive snaps in Sunday's 41-14 loss to the Chiefs but didn't draw a target or record any other statistics.
ANALYSIS
Since putting up a 6-60-1 receiving line on six targets in a starting role during the Raiders' Week 7 win over the Eagles, Moreau has predictably seen his opportunities decline following top tight end Darren Waller's return from a one-game absence due to an ankle injury. In Las Vegas' two games since its Week 8 bye, Moreau has ran only 23 pass routes and hasn't been targeted, according to Josh Dubow of the Associated Press.
Oct 24, 2021
Finds end zone in place of Waller
Moreau caught all six of his targets for 60 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-22 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Darren Waller (ankle) was ruled out just before kickoff, allowing Moreau to step into the No. 1 role and lead the Raiders in receiving yards while scoring his second TD of the year. With the team heading into its Week 8 bye, however, Waller will get extra time to recover, likely denying Moreau another shot at a significant workload.
Oct 24, 2021
Added work on tap Sunday
With Darren Waller (ankle) inactive for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Moreau is in line for an expanded role in the Raiders' Week 7 offense.
ANALYSIS
Per Tashan Reed of The Athletic, with Waller, Nick Bowers (neck) and Derek Carrier (pectoral) all unavailable, Moreau and Matt Bushman are slated to handle the Raiders' tight end duties against Philadelphia. Though Moreau shouldn't be expected to replicate Waller's production level, he does at least represent a viable plug-in for those who had been awaiting Waller's playing status.
Oct 18, 2021
Targeted once in win
Moreau caught his only target for 11 yards in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Moreau saw his offensive snap share creep back up as the Raiders played with a significant lead throughout the second half, but fellow tight end Darren Waller led the way with five receptions on as many targets. Moreau has not hauled in multiple passes in a single contest since Week 2.
Oct 5, 2021
Playing time decreases in loss
Moreau was not targeted during the Raiders' 28-14 loss to the Chargers on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Moreau played just 17 offensive snaps while fellow tight end Darren Waller turned seven targets into four receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown. Moreau could see a slight rebound in playing time if the Raiders are able to get out to an early lead against the Bears in Week 5.
Sep 28, 2021
Targeted twice Sunday
Moreau caught one of two targets for eight yards in Sunday's 31-28 overtime victory over the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Moreau has tallied three receptions for 42 yards and a score on five targets over the past two weeks, and he's logged at least 37 offensive snaps in all three of the Raiders' wins. He's the obvious No. 2 option at tight end behind Darren Waller, though fullback Alec Ingold vultured a one-yard touchdown catch against Miami.
Sep 21, 2021
Catches nine-yard touchdown Sunday
Moreau caught two of three targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-17 win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau wasn't targeted in the Raiders' Week 1 overtime win over the Ravens despite playing 46 offensive snaps, but he found the end zone during the third quarter Sunday on a nine-yard pass from quarterback Derek Carr. Moreau will likely remain touchdown dependent with fellow tight end Darren Waller headlining the offense, but the former has been on the field for more than 50 percent of the Raiders' offensive plays through two games.
Jan 28, 2021
Should take over No. 2 TE job
Moreau should take on a larger role in 2021, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
With Jason Witten retiring, Moreau should return to the No. 2 TE role, a spot he held throughout most of his 2019 rookie season. He logged 371 offensive snaps and 21 catches in 13 games as a rookie, before dropping to 256 snaps and seven receptions in 2020. The 2019 fourth-round pick won't see many targets if Darren Waller stays healthy next year, but Moreau does appear capable of handling a larger role if the opportunity arises, as his 34 targets in the NFL have yielded 314 yards and seven TDs.
Dec 8, 2020
No targets Week 13
Moreau was not targeted during Sunday's 31-28 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old is without a catch since Week 4 and hasn't been targeted since Week 8, so he's clearly not a factor in Las Vegas' passing game. Moreau should continue to see a handful of offensive snaps per contest behind Darren Waller and Jason Witten.
Oct 27, 2020
No catches against Buccaneers
Moreau was not targeted on any of his 11 offensive snaps during Sunday's 45-20 loss to Tampa Bay.
ANALYSIS
Moreau has garnered a steady workload of 10-15 offensive snaps in each of his appearances this season, save for a Week 2 anomaly in which he accumulated 32 snaps against New Orleans. The LSU product has flashed promise with two catches of 24-plus yards, but he otherwise has registered just two receptions for nine yards on the year. Starting tight end Darren Waller has dominated the position, and the entire team for that matter, with 55 targets through seven weeks.
Oct 6, 2020
Notches one reception vs. Bills
Moreau caught his only target for eight yards in Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Moreau has played no more than 15 offensive snaps in three of the Raiders' first four contests, but the LSU product has now recorded at least one reception in three consecutive games. Expect fellow tight ends Darren Waller and Jason Witten to continue handling a majority of the work Week 5 at Kansas City, severely limiting Moreau's fantasy relevance.
Sep 28, 2020
Scores in New England
Moreau caught two passes on as many targets for 25 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 36-20 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Moreau caught his first touchdown of the season on a one-yard connection with quarterback Derek Carr as time nearly expired in the first half. The LSU product also collected just the third 20-plus yard reception of his young career Sunday in New England, while starter Darren Waller caught only two of four targets for nine yards.
Sep 15, 2020
Uninvolved in passing game Week 1
Moreau did not garner any targets during Sunday's 34-30 win against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was on the field for 19 percent of the Raiders' offensive snaps, but it was tight ends Darren Waller (eight targets) and Jason Witten (one target) who benefitted from action in the passing game. The LSU product attracted multiple targets in nine of his 13 appearances last year, but the arrival of Witten has potential to evaporate Moreau's already-limited role as a pass-catcher.
Aug 2, 2020
Participating without restrictions
Moreau (knee) has been a full participant throughout the early portion of training camp, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau is coming off a season-ending knee injury that limited him to 13 games as a rookie, but he looks on track to kick off Week 1 of the 2020 campaign unimpeded. The LSU product managed to put together an impressive rookie season despite operating as a depth option for the Raiders, hauling in 21 catches for 174 yards and scores touchdowns. The added veteran presence of Jason Witten, however, now means that Moreau's sophomore opportunities will be limited to what snaps he's able to earn in a No. 3 capacity.
Apr 15, 2020
Progressing well in recovery
Raiders general manager Mike Mayock said Tuesday that Moreau is "ahead of schedule" in his rehab from the left knee injury he suffered in December, Jerry McDonald of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau, who has been conducting his rehab at his college training facility in LSU, is expected to be back to full health or close to it by the time the Raiders open training camp. As a rookie last season, Moreau proved to be a quality backup to starting tight end Darren Waller, finishing with 21 grabs on 25 targets for 174 yards and five touchdowns. Moreau's snaps could become less consistent in his second year with the Raiders, however, as the Las Vegas not only retained Waller but also brought in veteran Jason Witten this offseason to bolster the tight-end room.
Dec 10, 2019
Lands on IR
Moreau (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
The rookie fourth-round pick out of LSU made an immediate impact on the Raiders' offense. At the time of his injury, Moreau was tied with Tyrell Williams for the most receiving touchdowns on the team (five). Darren Waller will continue working as the team's No. 1 tight end moving forward, and Derek Carrier will bump into the No. 2 role. Coach Jon Gruden wasn't certain about Moreau's status for the 2020 season.
Dec 9, 2019
Done for season
Moreau (knee) is ruled out for the rest of the season, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau underwent an MRI on Monday after sustaining a knee injury during this past Sunday's loss to the Titans. The test confirmed ligament damage, so the rookie fourth-round pick will be shut down for the season. Moreau has been a dependable red-zone option for Derek Carr, and he finishes the season with 21 catches for 174 yards and five touchdowns. Derek Carrier is expected to bump into the No. 2 role behind Darren Waller going forward.
Dec 8, 2019
Won't return to Sunday's game
Moreau (knee) is ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Moreau was injured after making a catch in the third quarter and looked to be in considerable pain on the training table. The rookie fourth-round pick recorded three catches for 14 yards and a score before exiting the contest. Derek Carrier will bump into the No. 2 tight-end role behind Waller for the time being.
