Oluokun was placed on the Jaguars' IR after injuring his foot during Jacksonville's Week 3 loss to Buffalo. His 21-day window to return from injured reserve opened Tuesday, and the 2018 sixth-round pick was a limited participant in all three practices this week. Head coach Doug Pederson told reporters before Friday's practice that he's "optimistic [Oluokun will] be able to step in and play" Sunday, per John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site. Across the first two games of the regular season prior to his foot injury, Oluokun logged 19 tackles (11 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one pass breakup.

Jacksonville designated Oluokun (foot) for return to practice from its injured reserve list Tuesday.

Oluokun has been out for the Jaguars' last four games nursing plantar fasciitis, but it now appears he could be on track to suit up again soon. From Tuesday, Jacksonville will have 21 days to activate him from its injured reserve list before it would have to put him on the shelf for the rest of the year.

Oluokon played seven snaps (six on defense, one on special teams) in Saturday's contest and did not record a tackle. The 2018 sixth-round pick is slated to start at outside linebacker opposite Chad Muma with Devin Lloyd manning the middle.

The Jaguars signed Oluokun to a four-year, $45 million contract extension Friday.

In his last three seasons Oluokun has racked up 192, 184 and 173 total tackles, making him one of the most feared interior linebackers in the league. Oluokun posted 12 tackles (seven solo) and one quarterback hit Sunday in the Week 16 loss to Tampa Bay.

As has become a near-weekly occurrence, Oluokun led the Jaguars in stops Sunday, hitting the double-digit mark for the fourth time over the past five weeks and for the 10th time overall this season. The veteran linebacker has once again been an elite IDP option this season, as he ranks second in the NFL with 160 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, while adding an interception that was returned for a touchdown and a forced fumble. Despite Oluokun's big numbers, he's actually slightly below the pace that led to him recorded 184 tackles last year, and he'll need to surpass Zaire Franklin (whom he currently trails by one stop) in order to finish as the league's leading tackler for the third straight campaign.

Oluokun was able to register double-digit takedowns for the third time in four contests, producing 41 tackles over those games. The linebacker is up to 148 tackles on the season, just one stop behind Zaire Franklin for the league lead through Week 15.

As per usual, Oluokun was a very active man in Week 13, recording double-digit tackles for the second straight week and eighth time in 12 contests this season. The linebacker is now up to 131 takedowns, including 2.5 sacks, while also compiling five pass deflections, an interception, a force fumble and two fumble recoveries so far in 2023.

Oluokun managed a double-digit tackle total for the seventh game this season in Week 12. He's incredibly on pace for his third straight season with more than 175 total tackles, meaning he's an elite IDP option even in Week 13 versus the pass-happy Bengals.

Oluokun has played on every defensive snap for the Jaguars this year and will likely hit 100-plus tackles for the season after the bye in Week 10 against the 49ers.

Oluokon caught a deflected ball and turned it back the other way, beating New Orleans' offense to the end zone for his first NFL touchdown. He continues to be reliable for the Jags' defense, as he has yet to miss a snap this season. He will look to get a little more involved when Jacksonville hosts the Colts in Week 6.

Oluokun's nine tackles were good for most on the team even though it was his lowest total of the season. The 2018 sixth-round pick has had a great start to the 2023 campaign, as he's already accumulated 46 tackles (30 solo), good for fourth most in the NFL.

The NFL's reigning leading tackler added additional void years onto the three-year, $45 million contract signed last offseason. It's a prudent move for a Jaguars franchise that is riding a wave of optimism following a surprise postseason appearance, but also a necessary one given the team is currently nearly $11 million over the cap.

Oluokun finished the 2022 regular season with 184 tackles (128 solo), two sacks, five passes defensed, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 17 games.

The 27-year-old inked a three-year, $45 million contract with Jacksonville last offseason, and he finished the first year by leading the league in tackles. Oluokun was especially productive following the Jaguars' Week 11 bye, as he averaged 12.9 tackles over the final nine games of the season, playoffs included. He'll be back in Jacksonville for 2023 and should remain a highly productive IDP option coming off back-to-back seasons with over 180 tackles.

It was the fourth straight game with double-digit stops for Oluokun, who hasn't recorded any less than 14 tackles during the dominant span. The fifth-year linebacker leads the NFL with 156 total stops this season.

Oluokun once again finished as the Jaguars' leading tackler Week 14, as he contributed on eight tackles of star running back Derrick Henry. The 27-year-old linebacker has now totaled 47 stops across the past three games, and he currently leads the NFL with 142 tackles, just ahead of Seahawks linebacker Jordyn Brooks. Oluokun has a very good chance to finish as the league's leading tackler for the second year in a row, and he'll face yet another run-heavy offense against Dallas in Week 15.

Coming off a season-high 18 tackle performance, Oluokun backed it up with this third highest total of the season. He was one of four Jaguars to play all 76 defensive snaps and even added eight on special-teams (31 percent). He will look to carry his momentum into the team's Week 14 tilt against the Titans.

Oluokun set a new season-high with his 18-tackle performance in Week 12, registering double-digit stops for the fifth time in 11 games this year. Overall, the linebacker is up to 113 tackles, including a sack, while deflecting a pass and forcing two fumbles to this point in 2022. His 113 stops rank third in the NFL this year after his 192 takedowns from 2021 finished first.
