Makes pair of FGs in defeat
Butker converted both of his field-goal attempts and one of two extra-point tries in Sunday's 22-19 loss to the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Both of Butler's field goals were from 31 yards out, and his missed extra point was blocked by the Broncos in the fourth quarter, keeping it a three-point contest at the time. Butker has been inconsistent this season, making 16 of 19 field-goal tries and just 24 of 28 extra points.
Nov 2, 2025
Makes pair of field goals in loss
Butker made both of his field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 28-21 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Butker made multiple field goals for the first time since Week 4, connecting from 46 and 19 yards in the second quarter. The kicker had attempted just two total field goals over the team's last four contests combined entering Week 9. Butker has now gone 14-for-17 on field-goal tries, including 3-for-5 from 50-plus yards, while making 23 of 26 PATs over nine games this year.
Oct 27, 2025
Boots four extra points in victory
Butker converted all four of his extra-point tries and didn't attempt a field goal in Monday's 28-7 win over the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
It was a relatively quiet night for Butker with Kansas City getting into the end zone four times. It was the second time this season Butker has finished a contest without a made field goal. He's 12-for-15 on field-goal tries this season.
Oct 19, 2025
Quiet day in Week 7
Butker made his only field-goal attempt and all four of his PATs in Sunday's 31-0 win over the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Butker went a third straight week without attempting multiple field goals in a game, connecting on his only attempt from 38 yards in the victory. The kicker has now made 12 of 15 field-goal tries while going 18-for-21 on PATs over seven games this season.
Oct 13, 2025
Misses once vs. Lions
Butker made his lone field-goal try and three of four point-after attempts in Sunday night's 30-17 win over the Lions.
ANALYSIS
The veteran kicker from Georgia Tech has now missed three extra-point attempts through six games this year, after missing just two during the 2024 regular season. Butker has also converted on 11 of his 14 field-goal tries, with all misses coming from 40-plus yards. His next opportunity to kick will come in Kansas City's Week 7 matchup against the Raiders.
Oct 6, 2025
Limited action in loss
Butker did not attempt a field goal and went 4-for-4 on extra-point tries in Monday's 31-28 loss to the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Butker went without a field-goal try for the first time this season after having attempted at least two in each of the team's first four games of the year. The kicker will enter Week 6 having gone 10-for-13 on field-goal attempts, including 3-for-5 from 50-plus yards, while making 11 of 13 PATs over five contests this season.
Sep 28, 2025
Misses another kick Sunday
Butker made three of four field-goal attempts and all four extra-point tries in Sunday's 37-20 win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
In fairness to the Chiefs' longtime kicker, his miss Sunday was from 56 yards. At the same time, he's now missed a kick in every game this season and is just 10-for-13 on field goals and seven of nine on extra-point tries in 2025. Butker will try to get back on track next Monday night against the Jaguars.
Sep 21, 2025
Inconsistency continues in Week 3
Butker went 3-for-4 on field-goal attempts and 1-for-2 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 22-9 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Butker was once again a little off his game in Week 3, missing a 40-yard field goal wide right in the second quarter. Additionally, he pushed an extra-point attempt wide left in the fourth quarter. Outside of the misses, Butker made field goals from 54, 48 and 24 yards, as well as an additional PAT in the contest. On the year, the kicker has gone 7-for-9 on field-goal tries, including 3-for-4 from 50-plus yards, while also making three of five extra-point tries over three games.
Sep 15, 2025
Misses field goal in Week 2
Butker went 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts and made both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Butker missed a 58-yard field goal wide right in the first quarter before later connecting on a 56-yarder to finish off the team's first possession of the second quarter. The kicker's miss proved to be the difference in the contest, though it's hard to pin the blame on him considering the distance. Butker has now converted four of five field goals, two of which were from 50-plus yards, and made two out of three PATs over the first two games in 2025.
Sep 5, 2025
Connects on three field goals
Butker went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts but missed his lone extra-point try during the Chiefs' 27-21 loss to the Chargers on Friday.
ANALYSIS
The Chiefs' offense struggled in the first half, but Butker helped his team get on the board with a 35-yard field goal in the second quarter before connecting on a 59-yard try as the first half came to a close. The veteran kicker capped things off by converting on a 27-yard chip shot late in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't a perfect night for him after his extra-point try in the third missed wide right. Butker attempted just 25 field-goal attempts in 2024 but was limited to 13 regular-season games due to a left knee injury. As long as the Chiefs are led by Patrick Mahomes, Butker's floor should be one of the highest among kickers on a week-to-week basis.
Feb 13, 2025
Decent effort in 2024
Butker knocked home 21 of his 25 field-goal attempts and 29 of his 31 extra-point tries during the 2024 regular season.
ANALYSIS
Butker notably missed four contests from Week 11 to 14 due to a left knee injury, but he was again pretty reliable when healthy. Of his four field-goal misfires on the season, three of them came from north of 50 yards out, so it's not a major concern. He remains under wraps with Kansas City through the 2028 season, but his fantasy prospects next season don't seem quite as bright backing a Chiefs offense that has finished midpack in scoring the last two seasons after finishing among the top five in both 2021 and 2022.
Jan 5, 2025
No action in blowout loss
Butker did not attempt either a field goal or a PAT in Sunday's 38-0 loss to the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Butker was blanked, just like the rest of his team, finishing without a field-goal attempt for the third time this season. The kicker will finish the regular season having gone 21-for-24 on field-goal tries while making 29 of 31 extra-point attempts over 13 games.
Dec 26, 2024
Misses extra-point try Wednesday
Butker converted on his lone field-goal attempt and went 2-for-3 on his extra-point try during the Chiefs' 29-10 win over the Steelers on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Butker missed his first extra-point attempt of the game early in the first quarter, but it was a more difficult kick due to Xavier Worthy picking up a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after catching a 7-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes. Butker had no problem connecting on his next two extra-point tries and nailed a 32-yard field goal early in the third quarter to give the Chiefs a nine-point lead. In the three games since returning from injured reserve, Butker has gone 3-for-4 on field-goal attempts and 8-for-9 on extra-point tries. Butker will likely have less scoring opportunities in Week 18 against the Broncos as the Chiefs will likely rest their starters after securing the No. 1 seed in the AFC with their win on Christmas Day.
Dec 22, 2024
Makes two field goals vs. Texans
Butker made both of his field-goal attempts and connected on his three extra-point tries in Saturday's 27-19 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Butker's longest field-goal attempt game from 44 yards. It was his second game back after returning from a four-game absence and IR stint due to a left knee injury. He has now made three field goals and six extra points without a miss since returning.
Dec 14, 2024
Starting Sunday
Butker (knee) was activated off injured reserve Saturday and does not carry an injury designation ahead of Sunday's contest against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
As a result, Butker is set to return to his starting gig. The 28-year-old has missed just two field goals all year, both 50-plus yard attempts, and has missed just four field-goal attempts total dating back to the start of last season.
Dec 14, 2024
Trending towards playing
Butker (knee), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Browns, is expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The team will need to formally make the move before 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, but the Pro Bowl kicker is formally expected to return to his starting job despite Matthew Wright's reliability over the past two games (8-of-9 and game-winning field goal over two games). Butker has missed just four of his 55 field-goal attempts over the past two years.
Dec 13, 2024
Officially questionable for Week 15
Butker (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Since the Chiefs designated him for return from injured reserve Wednesday, Butker has put together three consecutive limited practices, thereby giving him a chance to play this weekend. He's been sidelined since Week 10 after undergoing a meniscus trim on his left knee on Nov. 15. Ultimately, in order for Butker to suit up Sunday, he'll need to be activated from IR by 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday. Matthew Wright is lined up to kick if that doesn't come to pass.
Dec 12, 2024
Remains limited Thursday
Butker (knee) remained limited in Thursday's practice, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker is eligible to return from injured reserve in time for Sunday's game against the Browns, but it remains to be seen if Kansas City will activate him in time. Matthew Wright has handled kicking duties the last two weeks, going eight of nine on field goals and two for two on extra points in that span.
Dec 11, 2024
Officially designated to return
Butker (knee) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Butker returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since sustaining a meniscus injury in early November. His limited session suggests that he could return as soon as Kansas City's Week 15 matchup against the Browns; however, his participation Thursday and Friday will likely offer the best insight into his availability Sunday. Additionally, Butker must still be activated to the Chiefs' active roster in order to play in Week 15.
Dec 11, 2024
To practice, uncertain for Week 15
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that Butker (knee) is slated to practice but that his availability for Sunday's game against the Browns is still uncertain, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Kansas City is opening Butker's 21-day practice window, within which he can be added to the 53-man roster and removed from IR at any time. The kicker has already missed four games while recovering from a meniscus trim on his left knee. Interim kicker Matthew Wright made all four of his field-goal tries, including a game-winner, during the Chiefs' narrow win over the Chargers in Week 14, and he could continue to fill in versus Cleveland if Butker is at anything less than 100 percent health.
Dec 4, 2024
Could return for Week 15
Coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that there's a chance Butker (knee) could return for Week 15 against the Browns, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker is currently on injured reserve and is required to miss at least one more contest, but it sounds like he has a chance to be back after missing the minimum amount of time. He required a meniscus trim and seems to be recovering as planned. Matthew Wright will kick for Kansas City this upcoming Sunday against the Chargers.
Nov 17, 2024
Recovering from meniscus trim
Butker is expected to return from injured reserve when first eligible Week 15 against the Browns after undergoing a meniscus trim of his left knee earlier this week, rather than a full meniscus repair, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
A full repair would have knocked Butker out for the rest of the season, but after requiring the minimally invasive meniscectomy procedure, he'll likely need 3-to-4 weeks to make a full recovery. Since Kansas City has already placed Butker on IR, he'll be required to miss at least four games, but assuming he experiences no setbacks in his recovery from the procedure to his non-kicking knee, he should be ready for action by mid-December. The Chiefs signed Spencer Shrader off the Jets' practice squad to serve as their kicker in the interim.
Nov 15, 2024
Has surgery, no timeline for return
Coach Andy Reid said that Butker underwent surgery on his injured left knee Friday and doesn't have a timeline for his return to action, Jesse Newell of The Kansas City Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Reid confirmed that Butker hurt his knee in practice this week, resulting in his placement on injured reserve Friday. "(He) tried to go on Thursday," Reid told Charles Goldman of AtoZSports.com. "(He) wasn't able to do it." He also confirmed that Butker had a repair of the meniscus in his left knee, according to Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com. For as long as Butker is sidelined, Spencer Shrader will handle kicking duties for the Chiefs.
Nov 15, 2024
Sent to IR with knee injury
The Chiefs placed Butker (knee) on injured reserve Friday.
ANALYSIS
Butker is dealing with a meniscus injury, which required a trim procedure, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. With Butker set to miss at least the next four games, the Chiefs signed Spencer Shrader off the Jets' practice squad on Thursday.
Nov 14, 2024
Expected to miss 3-4 weeks
Butker is expected to miss three-to-four weeks due to a left knee injury, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Pelissero, Butker is likely headed to IR as a result of a knee issue that surfaced on Thursday's injury report and is slated to result in the kicker having a procedure to clean up his meniscus. In Butker's anticipated absence, the Chiefs are expected to sign Spencer Shrader off the Jets' practice squad to fill in as their placekicker.
Nov 10, 2024
Makes three field goals vs. Denver
Butker made all three of his field-goal attempts and connected on his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 14-13 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
All of Butker's field-goal attempts Sunday came from under 40 yards, with his longest being a 36-yard field goal in the second quarter. He connected on a 28-yard field goal in the third quarter and hit the eventual game winner from 20 yards out late in the fourth quarter. Through nine regular-season games, Butker has gone 18-for-20 on field-goal attempts and 21-for-22 on extra-point tries. He'll look to add to his total in what should be a high-scoring affair in Week 11 against the Bills on Sunday, Nov. 17.
Nov 5, 2024
Makes only field-goal attempt
Butker made his only field-goal try and converted all three of his extra-point attempts during Monday's 30-24 overtime win versus the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Butker opened up the scoring Monday with a 40-yard field goal late in the first quarter, but Kansas City's next four scores came in the form of touchdowns. Despite the mostly uneventful game in Week 9, he's still an accurate kicker playing behind a good offense, so he'll remain a quality fantasy option in Week 10 versus the Broncos.
Oct 27, 2024
Perfect Sunday
Butker made both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
The kicker's field-goal attempts came from 42 and 24 yards, respectively. Butker's perfect day brought him to 14-of-16 on field-goal tries and 17-of-18 on extra-point attempts in 2024.
Oct 21, 2024
No field goals in win
Butker made all four of his extra-point tries but did not attempt a field goal in Sunday's 28-18 win at San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
Sunday's game was the Chiefs' first this season in which they did not attempt a field goal. Butker has been solid on the chances he has gotten thus far this year though, and he'll be kicking indoors in Week 8 at Las Vegas.
Sep 30, 2024
Misses first FGA of the season
Butker made both of his extra-point tries but missed one of two field-goal attempts in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Butker's miss was a 65-yard attempt that came up short just before halftime which would have tied the game at 10-10. However, he was good from 37 yards out in the third quarter, bringing him to 8-for-9 on FGAs this season.
Sep 23, 2024
Three field goals Sunday
Butker missed one of two extra-point tries but made all three field goal attempts in a 22-17 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Butker just missed a PAT, a first for him since 2022, but was otherwise perfect in the Week 3 victory. He connected from 53, 44, and 21 yards out, bringing him to 7-for-7 on the season on FGAs. Next week, Butker and Chiefs will travel to Los Angeles for a divisional matchup with the Chargers.
Sep 16, 2024
Hits game winner
Butker made both of his field goal and extra-point attempts in Sunday's 26-25 win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Butker opened the Chiefs scoring with a 19-yard field goal on the team's first drive of the game. He returned for another FGA on their last drive, with the team trailing by two points when he connected from 51 yards out as time expired, securing a victory for Kansas City. Up next for the 29-year-old is a Week 3 matchup with the Falcons.
Sep 6, 2024
Nails both field goals vs. Ravens
Butker converted both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries during the Chiefs' 27-20 win over the Ravens on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Butker made the most of his scoring opportunities Week 1, with both of his field goals coming from just over 30 yards out. The Chiefs' offense displayed some regained explosiveness versus Baltimore, due in no part to a two-TD debut by rookie first-rounder Xavier Worthy, so Butker will remain a top fantasy asset at the kicker position heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Bengals.
Aug 5, 2024
Inks big extension
Butker has agreed to a four-year, $25.6 million contract extension with the Chiefs, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, Butker's deal -- which makes him the NFL's highest-paid kicker -- is a four-year, $25.6 million extension, with $17.8 million in guarantees. The 29-year-old is coming off a 2023 regular season in which he made 33 of his 35 field-goal attempts en route to scoring 137 points in 17 games. While working behind Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes' helmed offense, Butker remains a premium fantasy kicking option ahead of the coming campaign.
Jan 8, 2024
Perfect in win
Butker made both field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 13-12 win over the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Butker first connected from 22 yards out before making a 41-yard attempt with 54 seconds left in the game, which gave Kansas City the victory. The Georgia Tech product had a stellar campaign, missing just two times on 35 FGAs this season, good for a 94 percent conversion rate.
Jan 1, 2024
Has busy day
Butker made all six field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 25-17 win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Butker was on the field early and often. First to make the point after on an Isiah Pacheco touchdown, but then for six field goals to help push the Chiefs to victory. The Georgia Tech product was good from 54, 43, 27, 24, 48 and 46 yards out in the contest. He's now 31-for-33 this season on FGAs, which is good for a 94% conversion rate. Next up for Butker and the Chiefs is a Week 18 matchup with the Chargers.
Dec 26, 2023
Misses second kick of year
Butker converted both of his two extra-point tries but missed his only field-goal attempt in Monday's 20-14 loss versus the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
On a day when Kansas City's offense struggled to get much of anything going, Butker only got one chance at a field goal, and he hooked the 36-yarder wide to the left. He's now missed two kicks in two weeks after being perfect through the first 13 games of 2023. The Chiefs will host a soft Bengals defense in Week 17.
Dec 18, 2023
Misses first kick of season
Butker converted two of his three field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 27-17 win at New England.
ANALYSIS
After making all of his first 23 field-goal tries this year, Butker finally suffered a blemish to his stat sheet in Week 15 when he pushed a 39-yard attempt wide right in the first quarter. Kansas City's offense is still very good, and Butker is still nearly automatic, so weather should be the most legitimate concern for him for the remainder of the fantasy season.
Dec 11, 2023
Limited opportunities Sunday
Butker made his lone field-goal attempt and both extra-point tries in Sunday's 17-14 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Butker tied the game at 14 for the Chiefs with a 27-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter for his only FGA. With that make, plus both of his PATs, the Georgia Tech product remains perfect on the season in both categories. Only Randy Bullock has achieved this feat so far this season, but he's only appeared in four games for the Giants. Butker's next opportunities will come in Week 15 against the Patriots.
Dec 4, 2023
Stays perfect at Green Bay
Butker converted both of his two field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try in Sunday's 27-19 loss at Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Both of Butker's field goals came from within 40 yards after the Chiefs' offense stalled out in the red zone, so it was a relatively easy day at the office despite the freezing weather. Kansas City still has a top-10 offense, and Butker still hasn't missed this season, so weather will be the only concern in Week 14 when the Chiefs host a beatable Bills defense.
Nov 27, 2023
Still perfect
Butker made his lone field-goal attempt and all four extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-17 win over the Raiders on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Butker's field goal came from 32 yards out late in the fourth quarter to push Kansas City's lead to 31-17. The 28-year-old remains perfect on the season, going 20-for-20 on FGAs and 28-for-28 on PATs. Next up for Butker and the Chiefs is a Week 13 visit to Green Bay.
Nov 21, 2023
Remains perfect
Butker made his lone field-goal attempt and both of his extra-point tries in Monday's 21-17 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Butker connected from 43 yards out at the end of the first half to help the Chiefs extend their lead to 17-7, but other than the opening kickoff of the second half, the Georgia Tech product wasn't called upon again. He is now 19-for-19 on FGAs and 24 -for-24 on PATs on the season. Other than Randy Bullock, who has only appeared in three games, no other kicker has converted on all of their opportunities this season besides Butker.
Nov 6, 2023
Doesn't attempt field goal Sunday
Butker converted all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 21-14 win over Miami.
ANALYSIS
For the first time this season, Kansas City was held without a field-goal attempt in Week 9. Butker did all that was asked of him though, and he still hasn't missed a kick in 2023. Following a Week 10 bye, the Chiefs will square off at Philadelphia in Week 11.
Oct 30, 2023
Busy as offense struggles
Butker converted all three of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 24-9 loss at Denver.
ANALYSIS
He did not record an extra-point try in Week 8, the first time that's happened since 2021. Butker still salvaged a respectable fantasy day though, and he cashed in on a 56-yarder at the end of the first half to reward managers whose leagues put a premium on longer attempts. The Chiefs will take on a middling Dolphins defense in Frankfurt in Week 9.
Oct 27, 2023
Will suit up at Denver
Butker (illness) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game at the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Butker will be ready to go for Week 8 despite dealing with an illness during the week. He hasn't missed a kick this year, but he'll likely be kicking in freezing conditions Sunday, dampening his fantasy outlook somewhat.
Oct 27, 2023
Working at practice Friday
Butker (illness) participated at practice Friday, Pete Sweeney reports.
ANALYSIS
It's a step in the right direction for Butker after he sat out of practice Thursday due to an illness. Kansas City's final practice report of the week Friday should give a good idea of whether he'll be able to suit up Sunday at Denver.
Oct 26, 2023
Not practicing Thursday
Butker (illness) won't practice Thursday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While Butker will miss Thursday's session, special teams coordinator Dave Toub expects the kicker to be available Sunday against the Broncos. Friday's injury report will clarify whether Butker approaches the contest with a designation or cleared for Week 8 action.
Oct 23, 2023
Perfect again in Week 7
Butker converted his only field-goal attempt and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 31-17 win versus the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
As is often the case, Kansas City's offense was not to be denied for most of the day Sunday, leaving just one field goal for Butker. He still hasn't missed a kick this season, and he's tied to one of the league's top offenses. He's an elite fantasy option headed into a Week 8 matchup at Denver.
Oct 13, 2023
Outstanding in TNF win
Butker converted all four of his field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try during the Chiefs' 19-8 win over the Broncos on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Butker converted field goals of 52 and 60 yards out during Thursday night's win, and even some of his shorter kicks had to contend with heavy winds. The veteran kicker has been money for the Chiefs all season, as he hasn't yet missed a single conversion on 15 field-goal attempts and 14 extra-point tries. Butker will work to keep up his momentum Week 7 against the Chargers.
Oct 9, 2023
Remains perfect
Butker made each of his field-goal attempts and all three extra-point tries in the team's 27-20 win over the Vikings on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Butker has yet to miss this season, making both of his FGAs from 38 and 40 yards out respectively. He's now 10-for-10 on the season and one of 12 kickers who still have not missed this season. The Georgia Tech product will be back on the field Thursday against the Broncos.
Oct 2, 2023
Helps team to victory
Butker was perfect in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Jets, making all three of his field-goal tries and both of his extra-point attempts
ANALYSIS
Butker connected from 37 yards out twice, with his final kick coming early in the fourth quarter to give the Chiefs a 23-20 lead, which they never relinquished, from 26 yards. The Georgia Tech product remains perfect on the season after Sunday's performance, making all 11 of his PATs, while improving to 8-for-8 on field goals. Next up for Butker is a Week 5 matchup with the Vikings.
Sep 25, 2023
Stays perfect
Butker made all five of his extra-point tries and connected on both of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's 41-10 win over the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Butker has yet to miss this season, and with makes from 41 and 38 yards out in Week 3, he is now 5-for-5 on the year on FGAs, while also climbing to 9-for-9 on PATs. Next up for Butker is the Jets in Week 4.
Sep 18, 2023
Perfect once again
Butker made both of his extra-point tries and connected on his lone field-goal attempt in the team's 17-9 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Butker's 38-yard make came midway through the fourth quarter, padding the Chiefs lead to eight and making the score 17-9. The veteran kicker is now 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts and 4-for-4 on PATs this season. Next up for Butker is the Bears in Week 3.
Sep 8, 2023
Perfect in Week 1 loss
Butker converted both of his field-goal attempts and both extra-point tries during Thursday's 21-20 loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Butker is off to a strong start to kick of the 2023 season, though his accuracy wasn't enough to put the Chiefs on top in Thursday's narrow loss. Next week's road matchup against Jacksonville could be a more high-scoring affair for Kansas City, especially if Travis Kelce (knee) is back on the field to assist Patrick Mahomes and the passing game.
Jan 17, 2023
Finishes regular season strong
Butker connected on his lone field-goal attempt and went 4-for-4 on point-after tries during Saturday's 31-13 win versus the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Butker nailed all five of his kicks to assist in the Chiefs earning the No. 1 seed -- aside from a playoff scenario that would result in the Bills and Chiefs playing at a neutral site. However, Butker finished the year with the lowest field-goal accuracy (75 percent), the fewest field-goal attempts (24), and the second-fewest extra-point tries of his career, resulting in his worst fantasy campaign. Butker wasn't particularly desirable as a fantasy kicker as a result, finishing outside the top 20 and off the radar in most formats. However, the Chiefs still led the league in scoring at 29.2 points per game, so Butker should be a highly valued target in drafts next season.

Ready to go
Butker (back) is active for Saturday's contest against the Raiders, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
ANALYSIS
There was some real concerns Butker would ultimately miss the regular season finale, but after an extensive warm up, the veteran kicker is good to go. It's possible the Chiefs may have to go through this same sort of cadence next week provided they're unable to claim the No. 1 seed and first-round bye.
Jan 5, 2023
Iffy for Saturday's game
Butker (back) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Butker wasn't included on the Chiefs' injury report to begin Week 18 before he was added to the report Wednesday, when a bout with back spasms prevented him from practicing. He took a step in the right direction Thursday by returning to practice as a limited participant, but the Chiefs aren't yet comfortable clearing Butker to play in the regular-season finale. According to Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star, head coach Andy Reid said after Thursday's session that "there's a chance" the team may need to add a kicker to the roster if Butker isn't fit to play Saturday. Kansas City would have to make any roster move by Friday if there's truly any lingering concern about Butker's availability.
Jan 5, 2023
Returns to practice
Butker (back) was on the practice field Thursday, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear how heavily Butker participated, but his return to the field after dealing with back spasms Wednesday suggests he is making process in his recovery. The team has still yet to bring in another kicker, so it appears they may have some confidence in his ability to suit up Saturday against the Raiders.
Jan 4, 2023
Sidelined due to back spasms
Butker didn't practice Wednesday due to back spasms.
ANALYSIS
Butker wasn't listed on the injury report Tuesday, but he lands on the list Wednesday as a non-participant due to back spasms. His absence is certainly concerning, and if he isn't able to practice Thursday, his status for Saturday's game against the Raiders will be in serious jeopardy. Kansas City currently doesn't have a kicker on its practice squad, but Matthew Wright, who saw action with the Chiefs earlier in the season, remains a free agent after being let go by Pittsburgh.
Jan 3, 2023
Slow night in kicking game
Butker missed his only field goal attempt and all three of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 27-24 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
The Broncos' defense is a challenging fantasy matchup, which played a hand in Butker's relatively slow night in the kicking game. He hasn't quite converted in the kicking game at the same rate he has in every year prior, missing at a higher rate from both inside 50 yards and beyond than he has in any year prior. Butker's fantasy output has been relatively mediocre as a result, but he should remain a popular option as long as he is part of a Chiefs team led by Patrick Mahomes under center.
Dec 26, 2022
Makes one field goal
Butker connected on his lone field-goal attempt and made all three of his extra-point attempts in Saturday's win over the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Butker's only field-goal attempt was good from 47 yards out late in the second quarter. The veteran kicker has now completed 77 percent of his field-goal attempts on the season, which is his lowest percentage of his career. Butker will look to be more involved in Week 16 when the Chiefs host the Broncos.
Dec 20, 2022
Misfires twice Sunday
Butker connected on 1-for-2 field-goal attempts and 1-for-2 point-after tries during Sunday's 30-24 overtime win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Butker had missed just one kick over the previous four games, so Sunday's showing was a bit disappointing, especially for fantasy teams hoping for a significant playoff effort from him. For those still forging on, Butker and the Chiefs have a good matchup for an offensive explosion next week against a Seattle defense yielding the fourth-most points per game (25.4) this season.
Dec 13, 2022
Nails all six attempts
Butker went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 4-for-4 on point-after tries during Sunday's 34-28 win against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Butker has missed just one kick total over the last four games and has made multiple field goals in three of the last four. He remains one of the top options at the kicker spot in fantasy leagues and sees some good matchups over the season's final weeks.
Dec 6, 2022
Misfires on late game-tying kick
Butker went 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 3-for-3 on point-after tries during Sunday's 27-24 loss against the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Butker had a flawless 4-for-4 night going on kicks before he stepped up to attempt a 55-yard field goal with under four minutes remaining to knot up the game. Unfortunately, it sailed wide right, and the Chiefs didn't get another opportunity. That doesn't devalue Butker much from a fantasy standpoint. He's knocked home a combined eight field goals in the last three weeks.
Nov 29, 2022
Perfect gain in kicking game
Butker converted all four of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 26-10 victory over the Rams.
ANALYSIS
After an empty Week 10 showing, Butker has come back with his two biggest fantasy efforts of the year over the last pair of weeks, knocking home a combined seven field goals and five extra points. He hasn't missed a kick over that span, which is a good sign after he missed at least one in the four games prior. He remains one of the top fantasy options at the position kicking behind a Chiefs offense that leads the league with 29.6 points per game.
Nov 22, 2022
Key contributor on SNF
Butker nailed all three field goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 30-27 win versus the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
After going without a field-goal attempt last week, Butker took advantage of the opportunities he got Sunday night, knocking home two from inside 40 and one from beyond 50 yards, in addition to his three extra-point conversions. Kicking behind the highest-scoring offense in the league, Butker should be rostered in almost all formats that include kickers.
Nov 15, 2022
No field-goal tries in Week 10
Butker went 3-for-4 on point-after tries during Sunday's 27-17 win versus Jacksonville.
ANALYSIS
Butker left both a point and a fantasy point on the board with his missed PAT, but it would have been a disappointing fantasy showing either way, mainly because the Chiefs never attempted a field goal when in scoring range. It's not exactly a case of going for it on fourth either; the Chiefs have gone for it on fourth just eight times in nine games, tying for the sixth-fewest fourth-down attempts in the NFL. Butker has attempted at least one field goal in every other game, and the early odds peg the Chiefs-Chargers as one of the highest-score contests next week, so Butker should have an excellent chance to bounce back.
Nov 8, 2022
Hits game-winner despite struggles
Butker connected on 2 of 3 field goal attempts and missed his only extra-point try during Sunday's 20-17 overtime win over Tennessee.
ANALYSIS
After missing just once all year in 2021 from inside 50 yards, Butker has now missed twice from inside 50 in the last two games. He added a missed PAT on his only try in this one, likely leaving a sour taste in his mouth with his first miss on those this season. He's still just a few weeks back from an ankle issue that cost him some time, and Butker has a strong track record in Kansas City, so it's unlikely he's in the hot seat, and he's still kicking for one of the league best offense in terms of points per game (30.4), so Butker should be rostered in the vast majority of fantasy leagues.
Oct 25, 2022
Misfires once in seven kicks
Butker went 0-for-1 on field-goal attempts and 6-for-6 on point-after tries during Sunday's 44-23 win against the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Unfortunately, Butker's lone miss Sunday came on an attempt that counts for the most for fantasy purposes, but he at least knocked home all six of his extra-point tries to maintain some fantasy value. The Chiefs demonstrated their offensive prowess against one of the better defenses in the NFL, which bodes well for his outlook.
Oct 18, 2022
Long make in return
Butker made two of his three field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Butker returned from an ankle injury suffered in the season opener to drain a 62-yarder before halftime. While he went wide left with a 51-yard try to begin the third quarter, Butker rallied to make from 44 yards later on. Now that he's healthy again, look for Butker to resurface as one of the league's most productive kickers.
Oct 14, 2022
Will be available Sunday
Butker doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's matchup against the Bills.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Butker will be available in Week 6 for the first time since spraining his ankle in the season opener. The Chiefs scored 42 points in an overtime win the last time these teams met, so Butker should get plenty of opportunities during his first game back following a four-game absence.
Oct 13, 2022
Practices fully, should play Sunday
Butker (ankle) practiced fully Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Butker has been sidelined since spraining his ankle Week 1, but he practiced without limitations Thursday and should be good to go for Sunday's game versus the Bills. Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub also said that he expects Butker to play this weekend barring any setbacks, per Adam Teicher of ESPN.com.
Oct 13, 2022
Should return Sunday
Butker (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against the Bills, "as long as he doesn't have any setbacks," according to special-teams coordinator Dave Toub, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker hasn't played since suffering the injury in Week 1, but he appears to be on the verge of a return. If the Chiefs decide to err on the side of caution, or Butker suffers a setback, Matthew Wright would be inline to handle kicking duties for a third straight week.
Oct 12, 2022
Logs limited practice Wednesday
Butker (ankle) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday ahead of Sunday's game versus Buffalo, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker has not played since he sprained his ankle Week 1, but his participation in practice Wednesday, though limited, suggests he is nearing a return to the field. If for some reason Butker can't play in Week 6, Matthew Wright would be slated to step in again as his replacement.
Oct 12, 2022
Will practice Wednesday
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that Butker (ankle) will practice Wednesday, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker has missed four straight games since suffering an ankle sprain during the season opener, but his participation in practice suggests he's getting close to making his return. If he's able to avoid a setback, it appears like the veteran kicker is trending towards being available for Week 6.
Oct 8, 2022
Out once again
Butker (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Monday's game against the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
This comes as no surprise considering Butker was not able to practice all week. Expect Matthew Wright to once again taking over the kicking duties in a matchup that figures to have plenty of offense.
Oct 7, 2022
Doesn't practice Friday
Butker (ankle) didn't practice Friday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker failed to practice for a second straight day ahead of Week 5 and appears to be trending towards a fourth straight absence due to an ankle sprain he suffered during the season opener. Matt Ammendola, who's now with the Cardinals, replaced Butker during his first two absences, but Matthew Wright got the job in Week 4, connecting on all seven of his kicks (two fields goals and five PATs). If Butker is ruled out for Monday's primetime matchup against the Raiders, Wright figures to be elevated from the practice squad for a second consecutive contest.
Oct 6, 2022
Not practicing again
Butker (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker hasn't played since Week 1 when he suffered a sprained ankle. He was considered a game-time decision in Week 4, so it would seem he is nearing a return. However, his continued absence from practice suggests there's no certainty he'll be ready for Monday's contest with the Raiders. If he is unable to play, Matthew Wright, who made both of his field-goal attempts and all five PATs on Sunday against the Buccaneers, should get the nod once again.
Oct 1, 2022
Ruled out Sunday
Butker (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
The Chiefs will elevate Matthew Wright from the practice squad in Butker's absence. Wright attempted 24 field goals with the Jaguars last season, converting nearly 88 percent of his tries with all three misses coming from 40-plus yards.
Sep 30, 2022
Game-time call for Week 4
Butker (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Butker missed practice Thursday and Friday, but coach Andy Reid said the kicker's status will nonetheless come down to a game-time decision, per Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star. Fantasy managers who are hoping for Butker to play for the first time since the season opener should make sure to have room on the roster for potential replacement Matthew Wright, as alternatives will be limited with the Chiefs playing Sunday night.
Sep 30, 2022
Not present at practice Friday
Butker (ankle) was not spotted during Friday's practice, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker has been sidelined for back-to-back games due to a sprained left ankle, and while he returned to practice in a limited fashion Wednesday, he's since missed back-to-back sessions. Special teams coordinator Dave Toub suggested Thursday that Butker's status for Sunday's matchup against Tampa Bay would be a real game-time decision, so his availability likely won't be known until closer to Sunday's 8:20 PM ET kickoff.
Sep 29, 2022
Status still in question
Butker (ankle) is still sore, and "it's going to come down right to the end, as to who is going to be up and who is going to be down," according to special teams coordinator, Dave Toub, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker took the field for practice Wednesday for the first time in well over a week, but he's still a very firm questionable for Sunday's contest with the Buccaneers. His practice status for Thursday will likely help shed some light on his availability for Week 4, although it sounds like a decision may not come until closer to Sunday night. However, if practice-squad kicker Matthew Wright is elevated to the active roster Saturday, it would be a strong sign that Butker will likely sit.
Sep 28, 2022
In line to practice Wednesday
Butker (ankle) is slated to practice Wednesday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker was unable to practice last week before missing his second straight game, but his return to work Wednesday offers encouragement that he could be able to kick this weekend against the Buccaneers in the absence of any setbacks. If, however, Butker isn't ready for Week 4 action, Matthew Wright is a candidate to be elevated from Kansas City's practice squad.
Sep 23, 2022
Ruled out for Week 3
Butker (ankle) won't play Sunday against the Colts, Adam Teicher of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker will miss a second consecutive game as a result of the ankle injury he sustained during Kansas City's season opener. Matt Ammendola filled in for Butker in Week 2 and should continue to do so against Indianapolis. Butker's next chance to play will come in Week 4 against Tampa Bay.
Sep 22, 2022
DNP Thursday
Butker (ankle) will not practice Thursday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker will miss a second-straight day of practice having sat out Wednesday as well. The kicker's status for Week 3 against the Colts remains up in the air, as he appears to be a firm questionable for the contest. If he is unable to play, Matt Ammendola should handle kicking duties once again.
Sep 21, 2022
Still not practicing
Butker (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker suffered the injury during Kansas City's season opener but was able to return to that game before sitting out Week 2 against the Chargers. Coach Andy Reid said Monday that the Chiefs will take a wait-and-see approach before deciding the kicker's status for Sunday's matchup against the Colts, but if Butker doesn't return to practice in some form this week, Matt Ammendola will likely continue to fill in as the primary place-kicker.
Sep 19, 2022
Coach noncommittal on Week 3 status
Per coach Andy Reid, the Chiefs will take a wait-and-see approach before deciding on Butker's (ankle) status for Sunday's game against the Colts, Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker suffered the injury in Kansas City's season opener but was able to return to that game before sitting out in Week 2 against the Chargers. If the kicker sits out again in Week 3, Matt Ammendola will continue to fill in against the Colts.
Sep 14, 2022
Won't play Thursday
Butker (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Butker sprained the ankle on his non-kicking leg during KC's season-opening win over the Cardinals this past Sunday. In his absence, the Chiefs are expected to use former Jet Matt Ammendola as their kicker, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. While he lacks Butker's experience or reliability, Ammendola does benefit from being attached to one of the top offenses in football, making him a viable-but-somewhat-risky Week 2 fantasy option.
Sep 13, 2022
Misses practice
Butker (ankle) did not practice Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Butker came back to play after being carted off the field Sunday, however the 27-year-old is still nursing an ankle sprain that left him unable to handle kickoffs upon his return. He is considered questionable for Sunday and is currently day-to-day. In case Butker is unable to go Thursday against the Chargers, the Chiefs did sign Matt Ammendola to their practice squad Monday, who would likely get the nod.
Sep 13, 2022
Managing left ankle sprain
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed Tuesday that Butker is dealing with a left ankle sprain and is considered day-to-day as Thursday's game against the Chargers approaches, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports. "We'll just see how that goes," Reid said of Butker. "He's got some swelling. He's a tough kid."
ANALYSIS
Butker played through the injury in Sunday's 44-21 win over the Cardinals, converting on all four of his extra-point tries in addition to a 54-yard field-goal attempt. Despite his accurate showing in the season opener, Butker still isn't quite 100 percent, as the Chiefs listed him as a non-participant on Monday's estimated practice report. The Chiefs will see how Butker's ankle feels in the next day or two before deciding whether he's ready to go for Thursday's game against the Chargers, or if a replacement kicker will need to be added to the roster for the Week 2 matchup. Kansas City signed Matt Ammendola to its practice squad Monday, so he would presumably be elevated to the active roster this week if Butker isn't able to suit up.
Sep 13, 2022
Perfect kicking to open 2022
Butker (ankle) converted his only field goal attempt and all four of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 44-21 win versus Arizona.
ANALYSIS
Butker left Sunday's opener with an apparent ankle injury but eventually rejoined the action ad finished out the day. However, he was listed as a DNP on Monday's estimated injury report, so his status should be monitored heading into the short-week tilt versus the Chargers on Thursday.
Sep 12, 2022
DNP on estimated injury report
Butker (ankle) was estimated as a non-participant on Kansas City's injury report Monday, though the team did not formally practice, Matt McMullen of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker had to be carted off the field after he suffered an ankle injury on a kickoff during Sunday's season-opening win against the Cardinals. The 27-year-old was able to return for a successful 54-yard field-goal attempt just before the end of the first half, so it appears that this issue did not limit his overall kicking capabilities. If he is available heading into the team's Thursday night matchup against the Chargers, then Butker should reprise place-kicking duties while likely either splitting or relinquishing kickoffs to safety Justin Reid, who stepped in as the team's emergency kicker while Butker was sidelined Sunday.
Sep 11, 2022
Returns to game
Butker (ankle) returned to Sunday's game against the Cardinals late in the second quarter, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker was carted off the field in the first quarter of Sunday's season opener due to an ankle injury, but he made a 54-yard field goal with his ankle taped up shortly before halftime. Although Justin Reid handled most of the kicking duties for Kansas City in the first half, it appears as though Butker will be available for the remainder of the game if needed.
Sep 11, 2022
Carted off field
Butker (ankle) was carted off the field Sunday against the Cardinals, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports. He's officially questionable to return.
ANALYSIS
The nature and significance of Butker's injury is still unknown, but being carted off the field would typically signify something significant. With Butker out, safety Justin Reid successfully kicked an extra-point attempt for the Chiefs, and he's also handling kick offs.
Aug 25, 2022
Makes all three kicks Thursday
Butker (ankle) made both extra-point tries and his only field-goal attempt during Thursday's preseason win versus the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Butker missed practice on Aug. 15 due to ankle soreness, but he proceeded to log every kicker rep in the Chiefs' final two exhibitions, exhibiting his health ahead of the regular season. Since Patrick Mahomes became the team's full-time starting quarterback in 2018, Butker has averaged 51.3 made PATs and 27 made FGAs per campaign, which equates to 8.3 points per game.
Aug 15, 2022
Dealing with sore ankle
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Butker missed Monday's practice due to a sore ankle, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker has made at least 89 percent of his field goals in all five of his seasons with Kansas City and is signed through the 2023 campaign. While the issue isn't expected to be serious, the Chiefs may opt to sign an emergency kicker for Saturday's preseason matchup with Washington.
Jan 11, 2022
Another impressive kicking campaign
Butker closed out the regular season Saturday versus the Broncos hitting both of his field-goal tries and both of his extra-point attempts.
ANALYSIS
Butker posted another fabulous campaign from a kicking standpoint in 2021, connecting on 89.3 percent of his field-goal attempts and all but two of his 49 extra-point attempts. His kicking volume hasn't been on quite the level it was earlier in his career, when he attempted 42 field goals in 2017 and 38 field goals in 2019, finishing out the year tied for 18th in makes (25) while finishing 21st in attempts (28). He did salvage some value by finishing fifth among kickers in extra-point conversions (47), which figures to be a big part of his equation behind a high-powered Chiefs offense.
Jan 4, 2022
Late field goal not enough
Butker connected on his lone field-goal attempt and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Butker had multiple made field goals in seven straight games prior to his absence last week after landing on the reserve/COVID-19 list. It was a disappointing return to action for Butker, whose game-tying kick late in the fourth quarter wasn't enough to keep the Bengals from picking up the win. He will aim to finish the regular season out strong next week against the Broncos.
Dec 29, 2021
Returns from COVID list
Butker (illness) was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
Butker sat out Week 16 after testing positive for the virus, but he's now back on the active roster after clearing the health and safety protocols. Elliott Fry went 3-for-4 on field-goal attempts and 3-for-4 on PATs in his absence before being released Tuesday. Butker is 22-for-25 on field goals and 41-for-43 on extra points through 14 games and has now reclaimed kicking duties for Kansas City heading into the final two games of the regular season.
Dec 21, 2021
Won't be available Week 16
Butker (illness) won't be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of the Chiefs' Week 16 game against the Steelers after he tested positive for the virus Monday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though vaccinated players that test positive for the virus are eligible to be removed from the NFL's COVID-19 protocol in as little as one day if asymptomatic, unvaccinated players that test positive are subject to automatic 10-day quarantines. While head coach Andy Reid hasn't officially ruled Butker out, Sweeney's report confirms that the kicker is following the protocol for unvaccinated players, making him ineligible to play Sunday. The Chiefs already telegraphed that Butker won't be available Week 16 when they signed kicker Elliott Fry off their practice squad Monday, a transaction that would normally be made at the end of the week. Assuming Butker is feeling healthy by the time his 10-day quarantine ends, he should reclaim kicking duties Week 17 in Cincinnati on Jan. 2.
Dec 20, 2021
Placed on COVID-19 list
Butker (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
ANALYSIS
Butker was one of a handful of Chiefs players to land in the NFL's health and safety protocols Monday. If he remains in protocols for Week 16, then Kansas City will likely have to make a move for a replacement kicker. Elliott Fry, who was signed to the Chiefs' practice squad last week, would be the most likely candidate to join the active roster during Butker's potential absence.
Dec 14, 2021
Racking up kicks
Butker converted both of his field-goal attempts and all six of his extra-point tries in Sunday's blowout win over the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Butker's fantasy value greatly benefits from the Chiefs recent offensive surge, having attempted a combined 13 kicks over the past two games and 26 over the past four. The Chiefs seem to be peaking at the right time for fantasy owners and the team alike, with fantasy playoffs kicking off this week in many leagues and the NFL's playoffs only four weeks away.
Dec 7, 2021
Connects on four of five kicks
Butker connected on all three of his field-goal attempts and one of his two extra-point tries Sunday against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
After missing just one kick through the first nine weeks, Butker has misfired at least once in each of the last three contests. He still hasn't missed on a field goal from inside of 40 yards at this point and has just two missed PATs on his 2021 resume, so there isn't much to worry about at this point. On a positive note, Butker has attempted three or more field goals in each of the last three games after trying no more than two through the first nine games, so there's a reason for optimism regarding his fantasy outlook moving forward.
Nov 23, 2021
Misses two kicks
Butker missed one of three field-goal attempts and one of two extra-point tries in Sunday's 19-9 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Butker started by missing his opening PAT, but he subsequently converted a 37-yard field goal on Kansas City's next drive. After a PAT and a 53-yard make next, Butker ended by going wide right on a 51-yard attempt. Overall, it was a shaky performance from the veteran, who has now missed at least one kick in back-to-back games going into the bye week.
Nov 16, 2021
Picking up steam despite misfire
Butker finished 2-for-3 on field goals and 5-for-5 on extra-point attempts Sunday versus the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Butker's miss Sunday evening marked just his second of the season and his first from inside of 50 yards. On the positive side of things, the Chiefs' offense seems to be headed in the right direction again, giving Butker a season-high eight combined kicking attempts between field goals and extra points Sunday. With Dallas up next, the Chiefs will likely need to light up the scoreboard again in a battle of two high-powered offenses.
Nov 9, 2021
Another clean kicking effort
Butiker nailed his two field-goal attempts and his lone extra-point try Sunday versus the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Butker has just one misfire in the kicking game all season, and that came on an attempt from more than 50 yards away. He's one of the more reliable fantasy kicking options at this point, though the Chiefs' offense has been a bit of a letdown this season, shrinking his opportunities to post fantasy points.
Nov 2, 2021
Deposits game-winning kick
Butker knocked home both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point attempts Monday versus the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Butker's fantasy value hasn't been quite on the level that was expected with the Chiefs' offense struggling to rack up points consistently. The offense may need to kick it in gear next week, however, to keep pace with a streaking Packers squad.
Oct 26, 2021
First misfire of season
Butker connected on one of his two field-goal attempts Sunday versus the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Butker missed his first kick of the season late in the third quarter Sunday, missing a 57-yard attempt that had little impact on a game sporting a 27-3 score at the time. It was an uncharacteristically poor showing from the Chiefs' offense this week, but the team should have a good chance to bounce back next week versus the Giants.
Oct 19, 2021
Still unscathed on kicks
Butker nailed his lone field-goal attempt and knocked home all four of his extra-point attempts Sunday versus Washington.
ANALYSIS
Butker connected on his second attempt of 50-plus yards in as many weeks and has yet to misfire on a kick this season, going 6-for-6 on field goals and 23-for-23 on extra points. He could have a good amount of chances on tap next week versus a Tennessee defense allowing 26.8 points per game, ninth-most in the league.
Oct 5, 2021
Perfect on PATs
Butker did not attempt a field goal but made all six of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 42-30 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Butker now has two games without a field-goal attempt this season, restricting his output despite the supporting role he plays to Kansas City's high-powered offense. With only three field goals through four games, he sports just 26 points thus far, but Butker at least hasn't missed a single one of his 20 total attempts.
Sep 28, 2021
Extends perfect kicking streak
Butker nailed his lone field-goal attempt and all three of his extra-point attempts Sunday against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Butker has just three field-goal attempts through three games but has made all of them and has added 11 extra-point tries, making him a perfect 14-for-14 on kicks thus far. His perfection streak extends through the final two postseason contests last year as well, so Butker has gone five straight without missing a kick of any kind. The Chiefs offense goes up against an Eagles squad in Week 4 that just surrendered 41 points to the Cowboys on Monday night, so there could be more kicking opportunities ahead.

Still perfect on kicks
Butker nailed all of his five extra-point attempts Sunday against the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Butker didn't have the most fantasy-friendly day considering he didn't attempt a field goal, but he at least salvaged it a bit by making all of his five extra-point tries on the drives the Chiefs finished with touchdowns. He's still a valuable fantasy commodity among kickers backing given his accuracy and the fact that he's backing one of the best offenses in the league.

Makes all five kicks Week 1
Butker was a perfect 2-for-2 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points during Sunday's 33-29 win against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Butker didn't get much work in the first half as the Chiefs mustered just 10 points by intermission. Patrick Mahomes and company picked up the pace after halftime, though, and Butker ended up finishing Week 1 with a respectable nine points. Butker nailed a relative chip shot from 28 yards out for Kansas City's first three points of the season and later added a 43-yarder, which was a good sign after making just 3-for-5 from 40-49 yards a year ago. He'll look for another productive performance Sunday night in a vaunted road matchup with the Ravens.

Tallies all of Chiefs' points in Super Bowl LV
Butker connected on all three of his field-goal attempts during Sunday's Super Bowl LV loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Butker did his best to reward the Chiefs' drives into Tampa Bay territory, connecting on two field goals from 49-plus yards out on football's biggest stage. Unfortunately, Butker's first-quarter field goal to open the scoring was the only time Kansas City held the lead all night. He closed out the postseason 7-for-8 on field goals and 6-for-7 on extra-point tries. Butker remains under contract through the 2024 season and figures to be one of the top fantasy kicking options again next season.

Perfect in conference clincher
Butker made his only field-goal attempt and all five of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 38-24 win over the Bills in the AFC Championship Game.
ANALYSIS
Butker converted from 45 yards on his lone field goal, which along with a handful of PATs helped him rebound from missing twice in the divisional round. After that performance, the kicker should be confident ahead of his team's return to Tampa Bay to play in the Super Bowl. In his prior outing at the Bucs' stadium this season, Butker made all five of his kicks for nine points total.
Jan 18, 2021
Misses twice in win
Butker missed one of his four field-goal attempts and one of his two extra-point tries in Sunday's 22-17 AFC divisional-round win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Butker converted from 50, 28 and 33 yards, but missed his first PAT and hit the left upright with a 33-yarder to begin the second half. Despite putting together another double-digit point outing, Butker has now missed 10 kicks this season, giving him some vulnerability heading into Sunday's AFC Championship Game versus the Bills.
Jan 5, 2021
Limited to PATs
Butker did not attempt a field goal but made all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 38-21 loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Butker's opportunities were limited with Kansas City's offense resting its most explosive players. With three points Sunday, Butker finished the regular season with 123 total, placing him 11th league-wide among kickers but marking a new low over his four years to date.
Dec 29, 2020
Minimal usage in Week 16
Butker knocked home his lone field-goal attempt and both of his extra-point attempts in Week 16 versus the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Butker's run of perfection in the kicking game extended to six straight games Sunday, with Butker going 10-for-10 on field goals and 18-for-18 on extra points over that span. He should have a few opportunities to add to his perfect streak in the regular-season finale but it's worth noting that the Chiefs could rest some of the usual starters with the No. 1 seed in the AFC already locked up.
Dec 22, 2020
Continues perfect stretch
Butker connected on his lone field-goal attempt and all three of his extra points Sunday versus the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Butker has not missed a kick in any of the last five games, hitting true on all nine of his field-goal attempts and 16 of his extra-point tries. He remains a viable fantasy option in the last two weeks of the regular season, but it's worth noting he has topped two field-goal attempts just once over the last five games.
Dec 15, 2020
Does what's asked of him
Butker knocked home his lone field-goal attempt and all of his four extra-point attempts Sunday versus the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
While Butker's minimal usage as a field-goal kicker won't help win any fantasy leagues, he at least made his lone attempt of the day and added some extra value by converting all of his four extra-point tries. He has gone four straight weeks without misfiring on a kick after missing at least one in six of the eight games between Weeks 2 and 9. The Chiefs round out the season with a trio of opponents allowing average to above-average production from opposing fantasy kickers, so Butker could be in for more usage down the stretch.
Dec 8, 2020
Connects on five field goals
Butker nailed all five of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's game versus the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Butker was called on for more than three attempts for the first time all season Sunday thanks to a stingy Broncos defense, and he made more than two kicks for just the third time. He only attempted one extra point on the day but served as the team's primary source of scoring on the day, accounting for 15 of the team's 22 points on the board. With some potentially high-scoring contests rounding out the 2020 season, Butker could be in line for a strong fantasy finish.
Dec 1, 2020
Perfect in kicking game
Butker knocked home both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point attempts Sunday versus the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
After a pair of zero field-goal attempt games in two of the previous three weeks, Butker made his mark again Sunday and needed to in a three-point win. He remains one of the best fantasy kicker options operation behind the league's second-highest scoring offense (31.6 points per game).
Nov 24, 2020
Another barren field goal day
Butker didn't attempt a field goal but knocked home all of his five field-goal attempts during Sunday's game versus the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Butker has now attempted no field goals in two of the last three games after attempting at least one in each of the first seven contests and a total of 14 over that span. He was at least perfect on his extra-point tries and could be needed more frequently next week versus a Tampa Bay squad coming off of a tough loss Monday to the Rams.
Nov 10, 2020
Solid day despite pair of misses
Butker tallied two field goals and three extra points Sunday versus the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
On the downside of Butker's stat line is that he misfired on a pair of kicks, so there were potential points left off the board yet again. The fourth-year kicker missed from inside of 50 yards just once all of last season but has already done so twice and has missed six extra-point attempts after knocking home 45 of 48 in 2019. While both present a mild concern, it's not enough of an issue at this point to worry about his job security.
Nov 3, 2020
Easy day in kicking game
Butker knocked home all five of his extra-point attempts Sunday versus the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Butker didn't have to attempt a field goal Sunday in what turned into a lopsided affair, but he at least busted a string of missing an extra-point attempt in four of the last five games. Next up is a Carolina defense that has held opponents to 27 or fewer points in each of the last six games, though there aren't many teams who can match the Chiefs' offense.
Oct 27, 2020
Big day in kicking game
Butker nailed all three of his field-goal attempts and knocked home four of his five extra-point attempts Sunday versus the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Butker continues to be accurate on field-goal attempts, missing just one of his first 14 through seven games, but he continues to work through some issues on extra-point tries, having missed one in each of the last five games he has attempted one. Despite the minor struggles in that department, Butker's ability to clean up drives with field goals should continue to pay the biggest dividends from a fantasy standpoint.
Oct 20, 2020
Misses another PAT
Butker finished Monday's game versus the Bills 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts while connecting on just two of his three extra-point tries.
ANALYSIS
While Butker has misfired on just one field goal through the first six weeks, he's begun a troubling trend of missing on extra-point attempts, missing one in four of the last five contests. Fortunately, it hasn' cost the Chiefs a game to date but it's something to monitor as the season progresses. Kansas City is averaging north of 29 points per contest through the first six, so there is plenty of reason to believe Butker will continue to get his opportunities in the kicking game.
Oct 13, 2020
Returns to form
Butker knocked home his lone field-goal attempt and each of his three extra-point attempts Sunday versus the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Butker had some recent struggles with extra points, missing one in each of the last three contests, so his return to form Sunday should calm any potential concerns in that department. Next up is a Bills defense that may be able to slow down the Chiefs enough to force additional field-goal attempts in Week 6.
Oct 6, 2020
Nearly perfect Monday
Butker knocked home both of his field-goal attempts and two of his three field-goal attempts Monday versus the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Butker has surprisingly misfired on an extra-point attempt in each of the last three weeks after missing just three of his 48 attempts last season. On the plus side, he was perfect on field goals, which are much more valuable from a fantasy perspective. Butker has attempted at least two field goals in three of the four games and should continue to see ample attempts behind a high-powered Chiefs offense.
Sep 29, 2020
Uncharacteristic Week 3 outing
Butker missed his only field goal attempt as well as one of his four extra-point tries in Monday night's 34-20 win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Butker followed his Week 2 heroics with an unusually poor performance. He not only went wide left on his first PAT attempt, but also missed the same way on a 42-yard field goal prior to halftime. Through three games, Butker has now misfired on a pair of extra points, with Monday's inaccurate attempt contributing toward a season-low of four points total.
Sep 22, 2020
Nails game winner
Butker was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals, including a game-winning kick from 58 yards out in overtime, Sunday versus the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
The only blemish on his record was a blocked PAT, which marked the first miss of any kind so far this season in his kicking game. Even more impressive, Butker hit a pair of kicks from beyond 50 yards Sunday, which can pay major dividends in some fantasy formats. Kansas City's road doesn't get any easier with the Ravens on tap next week, an opponent who could limit field-goal attempts.
Sep 11, 2020
Starts season perfect
Butker connected on his two field-goal attempts and all four of his extra-point attempts in Thursday's opener versus the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Butker didn't face any particularly challenging kicks to open the 2020 season, but he seems well on his way to another solid showing fueled by an explosive Kansas City offense.
