Scores team's only TD in SNF win
Hurts completed 14 of 28 pass attempts for 135 yards while taking 10 carries for 31 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 16-9 win over Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Hurts turned in a stat line similar to what he was producing out of the gates this season: low-volume passing totals with almost all of his value coming from his legs. Fantasy mangers would prefer if the 26-year-old could utilize both of his elite skills on a weekly basis, but at least his sporadic rushing scores have helped limit the signal-caller from truly having a bad game through 10 starts. Adding it all up, Hurts is completing 69 percent of his passes while accounting for 22 total touchdowns to just three turnovers. Those elite metrics coupled with a soft matchup against the Cowboys next Sunday should elevate Hurts' stock in Week 12.

Throws team's only TD on MNF
Hurts completed 15 of 26 pass attempts for 183 yards and a touchdown while taking five carries for 27 yards and a lost fumble in Monday's 10-7 win over Green Bay.
ANALYSIS
Hurts fell victim to a frigid defensive battle at Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football. He coughed up his second fumble of the season at the end of a lengthy opening drive, following that up with three punts and a turnover on downs in a scoreless first half. The 26-year-old came alive in the fourth quarter when he fired a 36-yard rainbow to DeVonta Smith for Philadelphia's only touchdown and game-winning score. Hurts may be asked to shoulder more of a load on offense in Week 11 against a Lions offense that is clicking on all cylinders heading into Sunday Night Football.
Oct 26, 2025
Fires four TDs in Week 8 win
Hurts completed 15 of 20 passes for 179 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 38-20 win over the Giants. He added 22 rushing yards on four carries.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles QB didn't need to air it out much with both Saquon Barkley (groin) and Tank Bigsby topped 100 rushing yards on the afternoon, but Hurts was surgical when he did throw it, hitting Dallas Goedert for a pair of TDs and sending one each to Barkley and Jahan Dotson. The four scores tied Hurts' career high, a mark he reached in both 2022 and 2023, and he's thrown multiple touchdowns in five of the last six contests, amassing a 15:1 TD:INT over that stretch. Hurts will get a well-earned rest on Philly's Week 9 bye before taking on the Packers at Lambeau Field in Week 10.
Oct 19, 2025
Another high-volume passing day
Hurts completed 19 of 23 passes for 326 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions while adding four carries for minus-10 yards in the Eagles' 28-22 win over the Vikings on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts took three sacks, but otherwise, he had a near-flawless day that allowed him to finish with a perfect 158.3 passer rating. The reigning Super Bowl MVP had to get aggressive through the air for the third straight game, ultimately setting a new season high in passing yardage yet again after also doing so in Weeks 5 and 6. Hurts was clicking with both of his top receivers, as DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown accounted for 13 of his completions, 304 of his yards and all three of his touchdown passes. In addition to his 37- and 26-yard scoring strikes to Brown, Hurts also hit the star wideout for a critical 45-yard gain up the left sideline on third down with just under two minutes remaining, a play that would go on to allow Philadelphia to run out the clock. Hurts had also connected with Smith for a 79-yard touchdown, the game's longest play through the air, in the third quarter, and the talented signal-caller will head into a Week 8 home rematch with the Giants boasting an 11:1 TD:INT.
Oct 9, 2025
Solid numbers in shocking loss
Hurts completed 24 of 33 passes for 283 yards with a touchdown and an interception while adding seven rushes for 13 yards and another score in the Eagles' 34-17 loss to the Giants on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Hurts and the Eagles offense had a productive first quarter where they netted 10 points as a unit, and the reigning Super Bowl MVP connected with Dallas Goedert from three yards out late in the period for six of those. Hurts would add a one-yard touchdown run at just under the seven-minute mark of the second quarter, and that would surprisingly be the end of the scoring on the night for Philadelphia. Hurts exceeded 30 pass attempts for a second consecutive contest for the first time this season, and he averaged a season-best 8.6 yards per attempt Thursday while connecting with six different targets. The sixth-year pro's one interception was also very costly, however, as it came at the Giants' nine-yard line early in the fourth quarter with the Eagles down 10 and was returned all the way to Philadelphia's 23-yard line to set up the Giants' game-clinching touchdown. Hurts has hit or exceeded 280 passing yards in each of the last two games heading into a Week 7 road showdown against the Vikings on Sunday, Oct. 1
Oct 5, 2025
Season-high passing yardage in loss
Hurts completed 23 of 38 passes for 280 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and added two rushes for three yards in the Eagles' 21-17 loss to the Broncos on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Despite the Broncos' standout secondary and the fact they held a lead for a significant portion of the game, the Eagles curiously took a pass-centric approach Sunday, affording Saquon Barkley a scant six carries. Hurts recorded season highs in completions, pass attempts and passing yards, while also recording multiple touchdown tosses for the third consecutive game by connecting with Dallas Goedert (two yards) and Barkley (47 yards) in the second and third quarters, respectively. However, Hurts also took a season-high six sacks, and he threw incomplete on back-to-back plays from the Broncos' 29-yard line to finish the game. Hurts was also much less involved than usual as a runner, but he draws an excellent matchup on a short week when the Eagles visit the Giants on Thursday night to kick off Week 6.
Sep 28, 2025
Well-balanced line in win
Hurts completed 15 of 24 passes for 130 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while adding nine rushes for 62 yards in the Eagles' 31-25 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles' air attack was back to low-volume mode Sunday, despite the Buccaneers eventually making matters interesting in the second half. Hurts had his share of misfires against an aggressive Tampa Bay defense, but he connected on two nifty touchdown passes to Dallas Goedert at the shadow of the goal line and also mustered a team- and co-season-high rushing yardage total. After not throwing a touchdown pass in either of the first two games of the season, Hurts has bounced back to toss five in the last pair of contests, and he's yet to throw an interception despite a couple of close calls Sunday. Hurts will take on the unenviable task of facing the Broncos defense when Denver pays a visit next Sunday afternoon for a Week 5 interconference showdown.
Sep 21, 2025
Leads comeback win
Hurts completed 21 of 32 passes for 226 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 33-26 win over the Rams. He added nine rushes for 40 yards and an additional score.
ANALYSIS
Hurts hadn't produced much as a passer through two weeks of the season, but the Eagles fell behind by 19 points early in the third quarter. He went on to record passing touchdowns of 33, nine and four yards in an impressive comeback effort, while also completing three additional passes of 20 yards. Contrary to his passing performances, Hurts has consistently made an impact as a rusher through three games this season, and that also continued in the win, highlighted by a tush push touchdown midway through the first quarter. It may not always be in the most conventional way, but Hurts continues to produce as an elite fantasy quarterback.
Sep 14, 2025
Rushing score masks low production
Hurts completed 15 of 22 pass attempts for 101 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions while rushing nine times for 15 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-17 win over Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Hurts managed to outduel Patrick Mahomes for the second time this calendar year in a Week 2 rematch of Super Bowl LIX. The 26-year-old Hurts has yet to throw a touchdown pass (or interception) through two starts in 2025, but his team has come out victorious on both occasions. Fantasy managers who drafted the dual-threat QB for his legs have been forced to rely almost exclusively on that part of his game for production early in the schedule. Fortunately, Hurts' rushing totals through two games (23-77-3) resemble that of an RB1 in fantasy, highlighting what an advantage it is to have a mobile QB. The Eagles may call on Hurts to air it out more against the high-powered Rams when the NFC contenders face off next Sunday.
Sep 5, 2025
Leads Eagles through difficult win
Hurts completed 19 of 23 passes for 152 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed 14 times for 62 yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles' 24-20 win over the Cowboys on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
As his final indicates, Hurts was near perfect through the air, but he averaged just 6.6 yards per attempt and saw top two wideouts A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith finish with a combined 4-24 line on four targets. However, Hurts was a force on the ground, logging the second-most carries for the Eagles behind Saquon Barkley and outpacing his fellow star by two yards for the team rushing lead. Hurts also converted several key short-yardage opportunities and converted a third-and-3 with 1:45 remaining via a four-yard scramble that essentially sealed the game for Philadelphia. Hurts completed passes to six different targets overall, and considering he only went without a touchdown toss in two games last season during which he played a normal allotment of snaps, the reigning Super Bowl MVP is likely due for much better passing numbers in a Week 2 rematch with the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 14.
Aug 22, 2025
No preseason reps
Hurts didn't play in Friday's 19-17 preseason win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Hurts didn't play in the preseason as the Eagles used the exhibition slate to evaluate their backup quarterback options after trading away Kenny Pickett in the offseason. Hurts didn't need the reps after leading Philadelphia to a Super Bowl title last season, but he'll be ready to go for the start of regular-season play against the Cowboys on Thursday, Sept. 4. He's being drafted as a consensus top-five fantasy quarterback in most formats after averaging 20 passing touchdowns and 13 rushing TDs over the past four regular seasons.
Aug 16, 2025
Not in line to play Saturday
Hurts is not expected to suit up for Saturday's preseason game against the Browns, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts and backup quarterback Tanner McKee are both expected to rest Saturday, positioning Dorian Thompson-Robinson and Kyle McCord to split time under center versus Cleveland, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. The reigning Super Bowl MVP's final opportunity to log preseason reps will come Friday versus the Jets, but it remains to be seen whether coach Nick Sirianni intends for the Eagles' key starters to handle any amount of exhibition action. As far as Hurts' fantasy projections are concerned, the most significant storylines to monitor throughout training camp for Philadelphia have been the slow return to practice for A.J. Brown (hamstring), and Pro Bowl guard Landon Dickerson (knee) undergoing surgery that could impact his Week 1 availability.
Jul 23, 2025
Sharp on first day of camp
Hurts completed 14 of 15 passes Wednesday at the first practice of training camp, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles have a new offensive coordinator, Kevin Patullo, who replaces Kellen Moore after spending the last four years as Nick Sirianni's passing-game coordinator. Continuity is the theme otherwise, with Philadelphia returning all but one of last year's starters on offense (G Mekhi Becton) after winning the Super Bowl. Two of the starting linemen are working back from offseason surgeries, but it seems all the key skill-position players are healthy for the start of training camp, including Hurts, Saquon Barkley and A.J. Brown. With 52 rushing touchdowns in 62 regular-season starts over the past four years, Hurts has become one of the most reliable assets at any position for fantasy, even though his passing volume and efficiency have fluctuated considerably from year to year.
Feb 9, 2025
Stellar in Super Bowl victory
Hurts completed 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and added 11 rushes for 72 yards and another score during the Eagles' 40- 22 win over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts put together an MVP-caliber performance on the season's biggest stage, authoring a near-perfect performance that was only marred by a first-quarter interception on a play where he was under significant pressure. Otherwise, the talented signal-caller was highly efficient when dropping back, hitting on both short passes and occasional downfield shots, such as a 22-yard, third-down strike to A.J. Brown early in the second quarter and his 46-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith with 2:40 remaining in the third quarter that essentially served as the final nail in Kansas City's coffin. Hurts also picked up key yardage on the ground on multiple occasions on his way to his highest rushing yardage tally since Week 2, and he opened the scoring on the night with a one-yard TD rush via a "Tush Push" play. Hurts finished the Eagles' 4-0 postseason with 726 passing yards and a 5:1 TD:INT alongside 194 rushing yards and five rushing TDs on 34 carries, making up for the three-point loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV
Jan 26, 2025
Four total TDs in NFCCG victory
Hurts completed 20 of 28 passes for 246 yards and one touchdown while rushing 10 times for 16 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 55-23 win over the Commanders in the NFC Championship Game.
ANALYSIS
Hurts quickly answered any questions about the health of his knee by powering in a one-yard rushing touchdown on the brotherly shove in the second quarter to cap a drive he extended by converting on fourth-and-5 with a 31-yard pass to A.J. Brown. The dual-threat quarterback then had a 17-yard touchdown run taken off the board by a holding penalty but threw a four-yard touchdown pass to Brown five plays later to help the Eagles take a 27-15 lead into the locker room. Hurts added a nine-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and another on a one-yard sneak in the fourth as the Eagles piled up seven rushing scores in this lopsided win to reach the Super Bowl for the second time in Hurts' tenure with the team. They'll either have a rematch of Super Bowl LVII against the Chiefs or face the Bills in Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9 in New Orleans.
Jan 24, 2025
Likely to wear knee brace Sunday
Hurts doesn't have a designation for Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Commanders, but he expects to wear a brace on the left knee that he injured during the Eagles' divisional-round win versus the Rams, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts opened the week with a limited walkthrough Wednesday, but he followed it up with back-to-back uncapped sessions, thereby clearing him for Sunday's contest. The aforementioned health concern appeared to hinder him down the stretch this past Sunday, but he mentioned Friday that his left knee has "been progressing." As a result, the potential exists for Hurts' notable mobility to be scaled back somewhat, which could result in an even more run-focused game plan featuring standout running back Saquon Barkley.
Jan 23, 2025
Logs full practice Thursday
Hurts (knee) practiced fully Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts hurt his left knee during this past Sunday's divisional-round win versus the Rams. He operated with a cap on his reps at Wednesday's walkthrough, after which he said, "I'm progressing, taking it a day at a time," per Eric Edholm of NFL.com. Hurts proceeded to handle a full workload Thursday, clearing him up ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Commanders. In his one full game versus Washington this season back in Week 11, he completed 18 of 28 passes for 221 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions and took 10 carries for 39 yards and one TD.
Jan 22, 2025
Estimated as limited Wednesday
Hurts (knee) was listed as limited on Wednesday's practice estimate.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles held a walk-through Wednesday, so key context with regard to Hurts' standing for Sunday's NFC Championship game against the Commanders will arrive after Thursday's practice. On the plus side, per Zach Berman of The Athletic, the quarterback -- who was shaken up during this past weekend's divisional-round win over the Rams -- noted Wednesday that he's feeling better and expects to be available versus Washington.
Jan 19, 2025
Does damage on ground against Rams
Hurts completed 15 of 20 passes for 128 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions while adding 70 rushing yards and a TD on seven carries in Sunday's 28-22 divisional-round win over the Rams.
ANALYSIS
For the second straight postseason game, Hurts threw for under 150 yards, but this time he bolstered his production with a 44-yard dash to the end zone early in the first quarter -- the longest touchdown run of his career. The QB did get checked out in the medical tent in the third quarter for a potential leg injury after taking a sack, but he didn't end up missing a snap. Hurts will try to lead the Eagles into the Super Bowl next weekend in the NFC Championship Game against the Commanders.
Jan 12, 2025
Tosses two TDs in wild-card win
Hurts completed 13 of 21 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 22-10 wild-card round win over the Packers. He added 36 rushing yards on six carries.
ANALYSIS
The Philly offense didn't need to do too much on a day when an injury-ravaged Green Bay passing game had trouble making anything happen, but Hurts picked his spots. The QB hit Jahan Dotson for an 11-yard score on the Eagles' first possession, then connected with Dallas Goedert for a 24-yard TD late in the second quarter. Hurts has an 8:0 TD:INT over his last five full games, not counting the Week 16 contest from which he exited early, and he appears fully recovered from his concussion heading into the divisional round.
Jan 10, 2025
Clears concussion protocol
Hurts cleared concussion protocol and will start Sunday's game against the Packers, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This was the expected outcome once Hurts progressed from a limited practice Wednesday to full participation Thursday. He'll return for the wild-card round after missing the final two games of the regular season.
Jan 9, 2025
Full practice, but awaiting clearance
Hurts (concussion/left finger) practiced in full Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Per Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal, Hurts led quarterback drills for a second practice in a row Thursday, upgrading from limited to all activity in the process. As Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Hurts still waits clearance from an independent neurologist from the concussion that he suffered in the first quarter of a Week 16 loss at Washington, but he has two days left to do so ahead of Sunday's wild-card contest against the Packers.
Jan 8, 2025
Limited in return to practice
Hurts (concussion/left finger) practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Despite not practicing prior to absences Weeks 17 and 18 due to a concussion suffered Week 16, Hurts reportedly was making progress through the protocol for head injuries, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. There was an expectation that Hurts would practice this week via multiple outlets, and he indeed warmed up, threw passes and took part in agility drills during the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media. According to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Hurts also was the first quarterback in positional drills ahead of Kenny Pickett (ribs) and Tanner McKee. With an official limited listing to begin the week, Hurts still has some work to do to gain clearance from an independent neurologist ahead of Sunday's wild-card contest versus the Packers, but he's at least put himself on a path to do so.
Jan 8, 2025
Expected to practice Wednesday
Hurts (concussion/finger) is slated to participate in Wednesday's practice, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts is working his way through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in an effort to gain full clearance in time for Sunday's wild-card round matchup against the Packers, and returning to practice as even a limited participant Wednesday would represent a significant step in the right direction. He was also listed with a left finger injury prior to being ruled out for Week 18. In order to suit up at home versus Green Bay, Hurts will require full medical clearance from the concussion protocol, including from an independent neurologist.
Jan 6, 2025
Remains in concussion protocol
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said Monday he has "no new information" on Hurts, who remains in the NFL's concussion protocol, EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts sat out Philadelphia's final two regular-season games while progressing through the concussion protocol, with his target return date seemingly being Sunday's wild-card round matchup against Green Bay. The Packers, meanwhile, withdrew Jordan Love (hand) in the second quarter of Sunday's loss to the Bears, a contest that also saw Christian Watson (knee) sustain a season-ending ACL tear. Until Hurts is cleared to retake the practice field, top backup Kenny Pickett will be in position to handle first-team reps at quarterback.
Jan 5, 2025
Progressing, eyeing playoff return
Hurts has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants, but he's "progressing" through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol and appears on track to practice during the upcoming week and potentially start in the Eagles' wild-card playoff game, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles' official injury report also lists Hurts with a left finger injury, but it's the concussion he sustained in the 36-33 loss to the Commanders on Dec. 22 that will keep him out for a second straight game to close out the regular season. With top backup Kenny Pickett (ribs) also not expected to play Week 18, third-stringer Tanner McKee is poised to start the regular-season finale, which carries no playoff implications for a Philadelphia squad that's already locked in as the NFC's No. 2 seed. Hurts didn't practice in any fashion this past week, so a return to even a limited session in the upcoming days would represent the first tangible step forward for the signal-caller as he works his way through the protocol. Until Week 18 action concludes, the Eagles won't know their opponent for the wild-card round, or if they'll host their playoff opener next Saturday, Sunday or Monday. A Monday game would be most ideal for the Eagles and Hurts, as it would provide him with extra time to potentially clear the pro
Jan 3, 2025
Won't play in Week 18
Hurts (concussion/left finger) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Hurts hasn't practiced since sustaining a concussion while taking a big hit in the first quarter of a Week 16 loss at Washington. He thus will miss a second game in a row to end the regular season, and his backup Kenny Pickett (ribs), who also didn't practice this week, is listed as questionable for Week 18. Even if Pickett is active for Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET matchup, he may be no more than the No. 2 QB to Tanner McKee, who told Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia that he's preparing for his first NFL start. As for Hurts, he'll turn his focus to getting ready for the wild-card round against the to-be-determined No. 7 seed in the NFC.
Jan 2, 2025
Not practicing yet
Hurts (concussion/left finger) officially didn't practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
This comes as no surprise after Hurts wasn't with his teammates during the portion of Thursday's session open to the media. No. 2 QB Kenny Pickett (ribs) also hasn't taken part in drills this week, leaving Tanner McKee and Ian Book to handle QB reps. With Hurts expected to be among a number of starters to not play Sunday against the Giants, McKee would get the nod under center in that contest if Pickett isn't cleared to suit up.
Jan 2, 2025
Not seen at practice
Hurts (concussion) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The same can be said for the Eagles' No. 2 QB Kenny Pickett (ribs), giving the pair just one more chance to mix into drills this week. For Hurts, getting back on the field would mean a notable first step in his recovery from the concussion that he sustained Week 16 at Washington, as he's expected to be held out of Sunday's game against the Giants along with a number of other starters. Meanwhile, Pickett likely will need to practice in some capacity Friday to put his hat in the ring along with Tanner McKee for the Week 18 start.
Jan 1, 2025
Officially DNP on Wednesday
Hurts (concussion/left finger) missed Wednesday's walkthrough.
ANALYSIS
Both Hurts and his primary backup Kenny Pickett (ribs) were listed DNPs to begin Week 18 prep, leaving Tanner McKee as the next player up at quarterback for the Eagles. Coach Nick Sirianni told Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer on Wednesday that Hurts and a bunch of other starters won't play Sunday against the Giants, but he also said, "We'll see," when asked about Pickett's availability, per Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal. As a result, it appears Pickett and McKee are the possibilities to start under center this weekend.
Jan 1, 2025
In line to sit out Week 18
Hurts (concussion) isn't likely to play Sunday against the Giants, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Nick Sirianni relayed Wednesday that the Eagles intend to rest a number of starters in the regular-season finale, a list that includes Hurts, who remains in the concussion protocol. It's unclear if Hurts has made any progress with his head injury, but the Eagles are evaluating who will be under center Week 18 in the wake of the rib injury that forced Kenny Pickett out of this past Sunday's win versus the Cowboys. Tanner McKee would be the next player up, while Ian Book also is on the active roster.
Dec 27, 2024
Ruled out for Week 17, as expected
Hurts (concussion/left finger) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Hurts hasn't practiced since suffering a concussion early on this past Sunday at Washington. Speaking of his quarterback Friday, coach Nick Siranni told Tim McManus of ESPN.com that it's "going to be tough for him to make it this week" because Hurts still is in the protocol for head injuries. With his lack of availability now confirmed for Week 17, Hurts will hand off QB duties to backup Kenny Pickett (ribs) on Sunday. Stepping in for Hurts in Week 16, Pickett completed 14 of 24 passes for 143 yards, one touchdown and one interception and recorded three carries for 13 yards. As for Hurts, until he gets back on the practice field, his prospects for game action will be slim.
Dec 27, 2024
Iffy for Sunday
Head coach Nick Sirianni noted Friday that Hurts remains in concussion protocol and acknowledged "it's going to be tough for (the QB) to make it this week," Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts, who is also dealing with a left finger injury, was listed as a non-participant in practice Wednesday and Thursday, and at this stage he's trending toward not being available Sunday against the Cowboys. If that ends up being the case, Kenny Pickett (ribs) -- who practiced fully Thursday -- would be in line to start at QB for the Eagles in place of Hurts.
Dec 26, 2024
Remains sidelined from practice
Hurts (concussion/left finger) officially didn't practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts has yet to mix into drills since suffering a concussion this past Sunday at Washington. Meanwhile, Kenny Pickett, who emerged from that game with a rib injury, practiced in full Thursday and even told Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer that he'll be ready to go if Hurts isn't available for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. The Eagles may clarify the status of Hurts for Week 17 on Friday's injury report, which would set the stage for Pickett's first start with the team.
Dec 26, 2024
Not seen at practice
Hurts (concussion) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia report.
ANALYSIS
After emerging from a Week 16 loss at Washington with a concussion, Hurts was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimate, and on Thursday coach Nick Sirianni confirmed that the quarterback remained in the protocol for head injuries, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. While Hurts seems poised to log another DNP to begin Week 17 prep, fellow QB Kenny Pickett mixed into drills Thursday, albeit with some extra padding around his midsection to protect his rib issue, according to Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal. Aside from Hurts and Pickett, Philadelphia employs signal-callers Tanner McKee on the active roster and Ian Book on the practice squad.
Dec 25, 2024
Listed as non-participant Wednesday
Hurts (left finger/concussion) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was forced out of this past Sunday's loss at Washington in the first quarter after he was squashed between two Commanders defenders. He seemed to be a bit woozy and eventually was ruled out due to a concussion, which is accompanied by a left finger injury on the Eagles' first Week 17 practice report. Backup QB Kenny Pickett (ribs) was listed as limited Wednesday, so Tanner McKee currently is the healthiest signal-caller on the active roster. Hurts will need to get back on the practice field in some capacity before week's end to give himself a chance to play Sunday versus the Cowboys.
Dec 23, 2024
In concussion protocol
In addition to Hurts being in the NFL's concussion protocol, backup Kenny Pickett is dealing with a rib injury, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts sustained his concussion during Sunday's game against the Commanders, and with Pickett banged up as well, the status of both signal callers is worth monitoring closely ahead of this weekend's game against the Cowboys. For now, the Eagles' healthiest option at the QB position is Tanner McKee.
Dec 22, 2024
Won't return Sunday
Hurts (concussion) won't return to Sunday's game against the Commanders.
ANALYSIS
Prior to being forced out of the contest, Hurts completed one of four pass attempts for 11 yards and ran three times for 41 yards. In his absence, Kenny Pickett has taken over at quarterback for the Eagles.
Dec 22, 2024
Getting concussion check
Hurts is being evaluated for a concussion during Sunday's game at Washington.
ANALYSIS
At the end of a 13-yard run in the first quarter, Hurts was sandwiched by a pair of Commanders defenders and seemed to be a bit dazed when he got to his feet. He was removed from the game, visited the sideline tent and appeared poised to return to the field before going to the locker room. If Hurts is diagnosed with a concussion, he'll yield QB duties to Kenny Pickett for the rest of Week 16.
Dec 15, 2024
Picks apart Steelers
Hurts completed 25 of 32 passes for 290 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Steelers. He added 15 rushes for 45 yards and an additional score.
ANALYSIS
The effectiveness of the Eagles' passing attack was in question throughout the week, as Hurts had failed to top 200 passing yards in three straight games. He silenced those questions in an excellent Week 15 showing by averaging 9.1 yards per attempt while completing six passes of at least 20 yards. Hurts also threw for multiple touchdowns for only the sixth time this season, while supplementing it with his 14th rushing score of the campaign. All of that production came despite playing through a broken finger, an injury that Hurts confirmed after the game, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Dec 8, 2024
Produces three TDs in win
Hurts completed 14 of 21 passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns while adding 59 rushing yards and a TD on eight carries in Sunday's 22-16 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
For the third straight game and the sixth time this season, Hurts failed to throw for 200 yards, with Sunday's total being his lowest of the year. He made up for it by producing three TDs, including a four-yard strike to Grant Calcaterra early in the fourth quarter for what proved to be the winning score. Hurts has 13 rushing touchdowns on the season, leaving him two short of tying the NFL record of 15 he shares with Josh Allen, a mark they both reached in 2023. Hurts faces a stingy secondary in Week 15 against the Steelers.

Posts passing and rushing TD in win
Hurts completed 11 of 19 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-19 win over the Ravens, while added nine rushing attempts for 29 yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Hurts threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert (knee) in the second quarter, then added a one-yard rushing touchdown later in the first half to put the Eagles up 14-9. The rushing score came on a tush push, as Hurts fumbled the snap but picked it up and lunged over the goal line for his 12th rushing touchdown in as many games. Hurts surprisingly didn't find much traction through the air against Baltimore's struggling secondary, but the Eagles rode running back Saquon Barkley and the defense to an eighth consecutive win. Hurts' ability to produce with both his arm and legs will make him a strong fantasy option as usual in Week 14 against the Panthers, especially if the Eagles get wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) back from a two-game absence.

Lets star RB handle Rams
Hurts (ankle) completed 15 of 22 pass attempts for 179 yards and a touchdown while rushing 12 times for 39 additional yards in Sunday's 37-20 win over the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Star tailback Saquon Barkley went off for over 300 total yards and two scores Sunday, leaving little work for the passing game in a lopsided victory. On a positive note, Hurts did not appear limited on his 12 rushing attempts after dealing with a minor ankle injury during the practice week. The dual-threat quarterback is completing a career-best 69 percent of his passes this season with 24 combined trips to the end zone over 11 contests. Hurts should continue being a top-10 QB in fantasy when Philadelphia visits Baltimore next Sunday.
Nov 21, 2024
Records full practice, as expected
Hurts (ankle) was a full participant at Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Hurts entered a maintenance program for an ankle injury that he suffered during last Thursday's win versus the Commanders., resulting in a limited session this Wednesday. As expected, though, he got back to all activity one day later and thus is set to continue to lead the Eagles offense Sunday night against the Rams. Since heading into a Week 5 bye with a 4:4 TD:INT and two rushing touchdowns in four contests, Hurts has been off and running, completing 92 of 131 passes (70.2 percent) for 1,267 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception, recording 61 carries for 254 yards and another nine TDs and losing one fumble over the last six games.
Nov 20, 2024
Tending to ankle issue
Hurts was limited at Wednesday's practice due to an ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
Hurts told Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer on Wednesday that the Eagles have had him on a "mini-program" due to a lower-body issue he's been dealing with since last Thursday's win against the Commanders. There's an expectation that Hurts will follow up Wednesday's capped session with full participation Thursday and Friday, according to Tim McManus of ESPN.com. The aforementioned regimen thus will allow Hurts to continue to lead Philadelphia's offense Sunday night at the Rams.

Rushing TD in Week 11 win
Hurts completed 18 of 28 passes for 221 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed 10 times for 39 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 26-18 win over the Commanders on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Hurts often found the going tough against an improving Commanders defense, and he went without a touchdown pass for the first time since Week 3. However, the star signal-caller was able to lean on Saquon Barkley and his defense as the second half unfolded while also contributing a go-ahead one-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. All but two of Hurts' completions went to the familiar quartet of A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Barkley and Dallas Goedert, and he steered clear of interceptions for the sixth time in the last seven contests. Hurts will now have extra time to ready himself for a favorable Week 12 Sunday night home matchup against the Rams on Nov. 24.
Nov 10, 2024
Scores four TDs in three quarters
Hurts completed 14 of 20 pass attempts for 202 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while rushing seven times for 56 yards and two scores in Sunday's 34-6 rout of the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Hurts picked apart an outmatched Dallas defense from start to finish Sunday, resulting in his second game scoring four touchdowns this season. The 25-year-old is hitting his stride as we cross the midpoint of the schedule, passing for 1,976 yards and 12 touchdowns on a career best 70 percent completion rate. When you factor in the quarterback's 378 rushing yards and 10 trips to the end zone on the ground, we see a resume for a potential early MVP bid as the Eagles soar to 7-2 on the year. Hurts accomplished Sunday's fantasy score in barely over three quarters of action, which lines up nicely from a strategic standpoint as Philadelphia prepares to host Washington on a short week for Thursday Night Football in Week 11.
Nov 3, 2024
Scores thrice in win
Hurts completed 18 of 24 pass attempts for 230 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 13 times for 67 yards and another score in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Hurts stayed hot in Week 9 with his third consecutive three-touchdown game. The Eagles' offense has been performing better as a whole, but the team's star quarterback has played a large role in the recent string of success. Hurts has contributed 10 combined scores over the aforementioned three-week span. The dual-threat QB remains a strong fantasy play against a depleted Dallas defense next Sunday.
Oct 27, 2024
Four total TDs in win
Hurts completed 16 of 20 passes for 236 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions and added 10 carries for 37 yards and three more scores in the Eagles' 37-17 win over the Bengals on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
For the second consecutive week, the Eagles continued to look like the team many expected them to be entering the season, and Hurts was at the center of the resurgence. The talented signal-caller was in vintage form on the ground, where he scored from one, seven and one yard out in the second, third and fourth quarters, respectively. Hurts didn't have to do too much through the air, finishing with well under 30 pass attempts for the third consecutive game. Hurts also extended his streak with at least one touchdown pass to four games via his pretty 45-yard strike to DeVonta Smith late in the third quarter, and the fifth-year quarterback's arrow is undeniably pointing up heading into a Week 9 home date with the vulnerable Jaguars defense.
Oct 20, 2024
Produces three TDs in big win
Hurts completed 10 of 14 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown and added 22 rushing yards and two TDs on seven carries in Sunday's 28-3 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
While he didn't need to air it out much after hitting A.J. Brown for a 41-yard score in the second quarter, Hurts got into the end zone himself on two second-half Brotherly Shoves to double his rushing TD total on the season. It's the third time in six games this year Hurts has failed to throw for at least 200 yards, but he's likely to need to rely on his arm a lot more in Week 8 in a potential barn burner against Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
Oct 13, 2024
Welcomes back wideouts in win
Hurts completed 16 of 25 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 20-16 win over the Browns. He added 33 rushing yards on 14 carries.
ANALYSIS
While it wasn't the most efficient effort, Hurts clearly enjoyed having top wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith back in the lineup, as the former caught a 22-yard TD pass in the second quarter and the latter was on the end of a game-sealing 45-yard score in the fourth. It's only the second time in five games this season that Hurts has thrown multiple touchdowns, but it's also only the second time both Brown and Smith have been healthy. Hurts will try to keep his momentum going in Week 7 against the Giants.
Sep 29, 2024
Runs listless offense in loss
Hurts completed 18 of 30 passes for 158 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and added 20 yards and another touchdown on eight carries in the Eagles' 33-16 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also committed two fumbles, losing one.
ANALYSIS
Playing without top wideouts A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion), Hurts predictably struggled to run any type of cohesive attack and took six sacks. Additionally, the fact Tampa Bay was able to jump out to a 24-7 lead over the first two quarters certainly didn't help matters, as it made Philadelphia's plan of attack all the more predictable. Some chunk gains in the second half and Hurts' own one-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter helped salvage his fantasy day, but there's no question his upside is significantly capped with out his top two pass catchers. There should be a very good chance Hurts will have at least one of Brown or Smith when the Browns come calling for a Week 6 home matchup on Sunday, Oct. 13 following a Week 5 bye.
Sep 22, 2024
Overcomes adversity in Week 3 win
Hurts completed 29 of 38 passes for 311 yards with no touchdowns and one interception and added eight carries for 25 yards in the Eagles' 21-15 win over the Saints on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Hurts' final numbers are made all the more remarkable by the fact he was working with a skeleton crew at receiver by the fourth quarter of the close victory. Hurts started the day without A.J. Brown (hamstring) and then lost DeVonta Smith to a head injury in the second half, but he still managed to lead a five-play, 69-yard game-winning march in which he recorded a 61-yard completion to Dallas Goedert that set up Saquon Barkley's go-ahead four-yard touchdown run. Hurts' passing yardage total ironically was his highest through three games, but despite the Eagles' ability to escape with a victory, Hurts and his teammates will be in dire straits offensively heading into a Week 4 road matchup against the Buccaneers if neither Brown nor Smith is available.
Sep 17, 2024
Scores twice in narrow defeat
Hurts completed 23 of 30 pass attempts 183 yards, one touchdown and one interception while adding 85 rushing yards and another score off of 13 carries in Monday's 22-21 loss to Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Hurts turned in a fine fantasy performance despite taking his first loss of the season. The 25-year-old buoyed his numbers with a rushing performance that most fantasy mangers would be content with from their starting running backs. The Eagles' offensive line continues to provide mixed results following the retirement of stalwart center Jason Kelce. Hurts' ability as a runner may show up more often this season if he has less time in the pocket. Philadelphia will now head to New Orleans for a Week 3 matchup against the Saints on Sunday.
Sep 7, 2024
Mixed results in Brazil
Hurts completed 20 of 34 pass attempts for 278 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing 13 times for 33 yards with a lost fumble in Friday's win over the Packers in Brazil.
ANALYSIS
It was a sloppy start for Hurts on a slick playing field overseas after committing two of his three turnovers on both of Philadelphia's first drives. The 25-year-old settled in following the pick and ensuing lost fumble, rattling off four straight scoring drives for the split crowd in Sau Paolo, Brazil. Hurts did not see any action this preseason, so a sloppy game in a foreign land can be looked past for the QB1 in fantasy, especially after willing his team to a narrow victory to start the regular season. The Eagles will return home to face the Falcons on Sept. 16.
Aug 15, 2024
Not expected to face New England
Hurts isn't expected to play in Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.
ANALYSIS
Reiss' pre-game report on ESPN aligns with that of Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, who noted that the Eagles aren't expected to play their starters on offense versus New England. In that scenario, Hurts' final opportunity to see exhibition action will occur Aug .24 against the Vikings.
Aug 9, 2024
Doesn't suit up Friday
Hurts didn't end up seeing any action in Friday's preseason win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Reporting earlier in the day suggested that the Eagles would give their offensive starters, including Hurts, one series in the team's preseason opener, but that proved not to be the case as Kenny Pickett got the start under center and played into the second half. Hurts' next opportunity to see exhibition action will come next Thursday against the Patriots.
Aug 9, 2024
Scheduled to play a series Friday
Hurts and other starters are expected to play one drive in Friday's preseason game against Baltimore, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
McLane notes that Philadelphia's starters could end up playing a bit more, depending on how the first series goes. That probably means Hurts will get one drive if he's able to move the ball, or two drives if the opening series quickly stalls out. Either way, he's unlikely to play more than 10-15 snaps, if that.

Learning another new offense
Hurts said the offense he's learning under new coordinator Kellen Moore is "probably 95 percent" new, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts will work with his fifth playcaller in as many pro seasons, having gone from Doug Pederson to Nick Sirianni to Shane Steichen to Brian Johnson to Moore. It sounds like this will be the biggest change to the Eagles offense since 2021, when Sirianni replaced Pederson as the head coach and the team drafted WR DeVonta Smith in the first round. The unit will have two new starters this season, with RB Saquon Barkley signed to replace D'Andre Swift (Bears) and the right guard job up for grabs with Cam Jurgens shifting over to center to replace a retired Jason Kelce. The new offense figures to entail a lot more pre-snap motion, something the Eagles used on a league-low 10.9 percent of plays last season (the Chargers ranked eighth under Moore at 25.9 percent).
Jan 16, 2024
Outdueled by Baker Mayfield
Hurts completed 25 of 35 pass attempts for 250 yards and a touchdown in the wild-card round of the playoffs, only adding one rush attempt for five yards in a 32-9 loss to Tampa Bay.
ANALYSIS
Hurts 2023 campaign comes to viscous halt after he and the Eagles mustered just one touchdown in a lopsided playoff loss to the Bucs. The 2022 MVP runner-up turned in a pedestrian passing performance despite not carrying an injury designation from a dislocated finger suffered against the Giants in Week 18. Hurts' one rushing attempt Monday checks in as his lowest total over 18 starts this year. From a fantasy perspective, the dual-threat superstar did his thing with 4,463 combined yards from scrimmage and 38 touchdowns compared to last year's 35 total scores. The only complaint from Hurts' stellar 17-game campaign would be the dramatic increase in turnovers compared to his breakout season (20 compared to eight). Philadelphia will have to lick its wounds and regroup this upcoming offseason after an ugly end to what was poised to be a promising campaign.
Jan 13, 2024
Clear for Monday's game
Hurts (right finger) doesn't have a designation for Monday's wild-card game at Tampa Bay.
ANALYSIS
Hurts departed the Eagles' regular-season finale at the Giants before halftime due to a dislocated right middle finger, but after opening the week of prep as limited Thursday, he capped it with back-to-back full sessions. On Friday, in particular, when he attempted his first passes since suffering the injury, he "was throwing deep balls, he was throwing lasers," as WR Britain Covey told Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia. While Hurts will continue to lead the offense, he'll be without A.J. Brown (knee) for the first time since the wide receiver was acquired from the Titans during the 2022 Draft. With Brown sidelined, WRs DeVonta Smith, Julio Jones and Quez Watkins, TE Dallas Goedert and RB D'Andre Swift will be the key pass catchers available to Hurts.
Jan 12, 2024
Logs full practice Friday
Hurts (right finger) practiced fully Friday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was knocked out of this past Sunday's loss at the Giants before halftime due to a dislocated right middle finger, yielding quarterback duties to backup Marcus Mariota for the rest of the contest. Fortunately for Hurts, X-rays came back negative afterward, and he was considered day-to-day, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. On both Thursday and Friday, Hurts wore a glove on his right hand, and in the latter practice, he was seen attempting multiple passes, according to Brooks Kubena of The Athletic. With his progression from limited to open the week of prep to all activity Friday, Hurts appears to be in the clear as the Eagles prepare for Monday's wild-card game in Tampa Bay.
Jan 11, 2024
Officially limited Thursday
Hurts (right finger) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts' Week 18 was abbreviated due to a dislocated right middle finger that he attempted to play through before he was pulled for backup Marcus Mariota before halftime. X-rays were returned negative after the loss at the Giants, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, and Hurts spoke of the injury Thursday, telling EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer that it was "probably not, physically, the best idea" to return Sunday. Hurts also noted that "everything is progressing in the right way" as the Eagles prepare for Monday's wild-card contest at Tampa Bay, but he likely will wear a glove on his right hand, as he did at Thursday's session, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. As for the rest of Philadelphia's skill group, WR A.J. Brown (knee) didn't practice Thursday, while RB D'Andre Swift (illness) and WR DeVonta Smith (ankle) were full participants.
Jan 11, 2024
Seen at practice Thursday
Hurts (finger) was present at the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts missed a handful of plays in the second quarter of this past Sunday's loss at the Giants to have his dislocated right middle finger taped up, but he ultimately was pulled before halftime in an eventual 27-10 loss. On Monday, it was revealed by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network that X-rays were returned negative on the appendage in question. Prior to reconvening for practice Thursday, Hurts said that it was "probably not, physically, the best idea" to return to action Sunday, and he also had yet to throw since the game, but "everything is progressing in the right way," per EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Hurts was donning gloves on both of his hands Thursday, which may be his reality for as long as he's dealing with the injury.
Jan 8, 2024
X-rays on finger come back clean
Hurts' (finger) X-rays showed no fracture, and he's viewed as day to day, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts dislocated the middle finger on his right (throwing) hand in Sunday's loss to the Giants and was removed from the game just before halftime with the Eagles trailing 24-0. Marcus Mariota finished the game, going 13 of 20 passing for 148 yards, one touchdown and one interception, adding six carries for 46 yards. The Eagles travel to Tampa Bay to face the Bucs in the first round of the playoffs next Monday night.
Jan 7, 2024
Gets pulled in Week 18 loss
Hurts completed seven of 16 passes for 55 yards and an interception before being replaced by Marcus Mariota late in the second quarter of Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Hurts also added four rushing yards on two carries. The Eagles began the afternoon using their starters, as they still had a slim chance to win the NFC East, but they effectively no-showed the game, and Hurts got pulled after the Giants had grabbed a 24-0 lead. Philly's late-season collapse has left them with the No. 5 seed in the postseason and a road game in Tampa Bay for the wild-card round next weekend, and Hurts will head into the playoffs potentially down his top two targets in DeVonta Smith (ankle) and A.J. Brown (knee). Speaking after the game, coach Nick Sirianni didn't seem concerned about Hurts' own availability for the playoffs, Garafalo reports.
Dec 31, 2023
Throws for three scores in loss
Hurts completed 18 of 23 pass attempts for 167 yards with three touchdowns and one intercpetion while adding 25 rushing yards on eight attempts in Sunday's 35-31 loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Hurts didn't post gaudy yardage totals in Sunday's narrow defeat, but he helped fantasy squads by registering his third game with at least three passing touchdowns this season. The dual-threat quarterback couldn't supplement his passing efforts on the ground after finishing with less than 30 yards and no rushing scores for just the second time this year. Hurts may be without one of his top targets in Week 18 after DeVonta Smith (foot) was seen using crutches after suffering a foot injury late in Sunday's last-minute loss to Arizona.
Dec 25, 2023
Claims record in Christmas win
Hurts completed 24 of 38 passes for 301 yards and a touchdown with an interception in Monday's 33-25 win over the Giants. He added 34 rushing yards and another TD on eight carries.
ANALYSIS
On the Eagles' first possession of the game, Hurts rode a brotherly shove from the one-yard line to his 15th rushing touchdown of the season, breaking the previous NFL record of 14 set by Cam Newton in 2011. He then got busy producing his first 300-yard passing game since Week 8 while hitting DeVonta Smith for a 36-yard score in the second quarter. Hurts hasn't thrown multiple TDs in four straight games however, as Philadelphia's passing attack has hit a lull at perhaps the worst possible time. The Eagles can still lock up the NFC East title if they win their final two games, giving Hurts incentive to crank it up in Week 17 against the Cardinals.
Dec 18, 2023
Forgettable passing numbers in loss
Hurts (illness) completed 17 of 31 passes for 143 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in the Eagles' 20-17 loss to the Seahawks on Monday night. He also rushed 13 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was a game-time decision due to an illness that worsened over the weekend and required the star signal-caller to travel to Seattle separately from the rest of the team. Hurts looked his usual self on the ground, where he racked up a season-high rushing yardage tally and posted his third two-score effort on the ground in the last five games. However, Hurts' three- and one-yard touchdown runs couldn't quite make up for his poor passing effort, which included a season-low 54.9 percent completion rate and an average of just 4.6 yards per attempt. Hurts also had a particularly poor last quarter-plus, leading the Eagles to just 27 yards on 10 plays on two drives that ended in punts and short-circuiting two other possessions with interceptions, including a game-ending one with 13 seconds remaining. Monday night's loss kept Philadelphia tied with the Cowboys atop the NFC East and was the Eagles' third straight loss, but Hurts could be primed for a resurgent effort in a Christmas Day home matchup against the Gia
Dec 18, 2023
Playing through illness Monday
Hurts (illness) is active for Monday's game at Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Hurts joined the Eagles' Week 15 injury report Saturday as a non-participant due to an illness, but the team didn't give him a game designation at the time. As of Sunday morning, though, he was downgraded to questionable, and he even took the precaution of traveling to Seattle separately from his teammates in order to avoid getting anyone else sick. Hurts seemingly was subject to a pregame workout to determine if he can play with the ailment, and he's been deemed able to direct Philadelphia's offense as he normally does. He'll thus be taking on a Seahawks defense that has conceded the ninth-most touchdown passes (19) but only one rushing score (tied for 26th) to opposing quarterbacks in 13 games this season.
Dec 18, 2023
On track to play Monday
Hurts (illness) is in line to play Monday night against the Seahawks, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network report.
ANALYSIS
Per the report, Hurts who had been downgraded to questionable for the contest, is feeling well enough to give it a go versus Seattle. Official confirmation of the QB's Week 15 status is thus set to arrive once the Eagles' inactives are posted ahead of Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 17, 2023
Officially questionable for Monday
The Eagles officially list Hurts (illness) as questionable for Monday's game against the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Hurts wasn't able to practice Saturday after falling ill, but the Eagles declined to give him a designation upon the release of their final Week 15 injury report. However, with his illness worsening overnight, the Eagles have elected to downgrade his status as Monday's game approaches, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Hurts traveled separately from the team to Seattle and is still hopeful to play against the Seahawks, but the Eagles may wait and see how the 25-year-old is feeling in pregame warmups before making a call on his status prior to Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. If Hurts is forced to miss his first game of the season or is available only as an emergency backup, veteran Marcus Mariota would be in line for the starting role.
Dec 17, 2023
Listed questionable for Monday
The Eagles have downgraded Hurts to questionable for Monday's game in Seattle after the quarterback's recovery from an illness worsened overnight, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts, who initially didn't carry a designation for the contest, still hopes to play Monday and is traveling to Seattle separately from the team, according to Schefter. Either way, Hurts' status will need to be monitored closely ahead of Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. If Hurts is unavailable Monday, Marcus Mariota would be in line to start in his place.
Dec 16, 2023
Clear for Week 15 action
Hurts, who didn't practice Saturday due to an illness, doesn't have a designation for Monday's game at Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Hurts didn't show up on the Eagles' Week 15 injury report until Saturday, but the ailment that kept him off the practice field won't impact his availability. He'll thus be free to take on the Seahawks' 25th-ranked pass defense (243.6 yards per game) Monday.
Dec 16, 2023
Sits out practice, expected to play
Hurts (illness) isn't practicing Saturday, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts practiced fully Thursday and Friday, but an illness will keep him off the field Saturday. That said, the QB is expected to play Monday night against the Seahawks, though it's possible he'll approach the contest with a designation once the Eagles' final Week 15 injury report is posted.
Dec 11, 2023
Quiet night in lopsided loss
Hurts completed 18 of 27 passes for 197 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Eagles' 33-13 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday night. He also rushed five times for 30 yards and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles were seemingly behind the eight-ball right out of the gate Sunday night, with the Cowboys jumping out to a 10-0 lead through one and adding another pair of touchdowns in the second quarter. That made Philadelphia's game plan increasingly predictable and allowed Dallas to make Hurts and the Eagles offense work for every yard. Hurts was sacked just once on the night, but he short-circuited an early drive at the Cowboys' 20-yard line with a fumble at the conclusion of an 11-yard scramble that ultimately led to a field goal. Hurts' passing yardage total was his fourth under 200 yards this season, and it was only his second instance of going without a touchdown pass on the campaign as well. Hurts should have an opportunity of bouncing back in a Week 15 Monday night road matchup versus the Seahawks on Dec. 18.
Dec 3, 2023
Solid results in losing effort
Hurts completed 26 of 45 pass attempts for 298 yards and a touchdown while rushing seven times for 20 yards and another score in Sunday's 42-19 loss to San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
Hurts briefly exited Sunday's contest to be evaluated for a concussion after taking a hit in the second half. The 25-year-old only missed a handful of snaps before receiving clearance to return. Hurts showed no ill effects from the hit upon returning, and he went on to throw essentially a garbage-time touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia was punched in the gut by a conference contender Sunday, but Hurts produced solid fantasy results for managers despite taking the loss. He will look to get the 10-2 Eagles back in the win column against the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football in Week 14.
Dec 3, 2023
Returns to Sunday's contest
Hurts (head) returned to Sunday's game against the 49ers, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts paid a visit to the sideline medical tent in the second half and then went to the locker room to get a concussion check. While Marcus Mariota proceeded to log a handful of snaps in Hurts' stead, the latter got back on the field in the middle of the fourth quarter with the Eagles down, 35-13.
Dec 3, 2023
Being evaluated for concussion
Hurts is being evaluated for a concussion after going to the locker room with a concussion spotter in the second half of Sunday's game against the 49ers, Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Marcus Mariota replaced Hurts under center. Hurts went to the blue medical tent after taking a big hit, then made his way to the locker room shortly afterward. Prior to his exit, Hurts completed 17 of 29 passes for 196 yards while rushing six times for 17 yards and a touchdown.
Nov 26, 2023
Outduels Josh Allen in OT win
Hurts completed 18 of 31 passes for 200 yards and three touchdowns with one interception and added 65 rushing yards and two TDs on 14 carries in Sunday's 37-34 overtime win over the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Josh Allen posted better yardage totals and produced four touchdowns of his own, but Hurts had the last laugh as he dashed for a game-winning 12-yard TD with under three minutes remaining in OT. The two dual-threat QBs combined for four rushing scores on the day, an impressive feat considering that neither the Buffalo nor Philadelphia defenses had allowed a rushing TD by a quarterback all season prior to Sunday. Hurts is now the first QB in NFL history to record three straight seasons with 10 or more touchdowns on the ground, and with 18 passing TDs through 11 games, he's just five away from establishing a new career high in that category. The Eagles have won three straight nailbiters against Super Bowl-caliber opposition, and their gauntlet will continue in Week 13 at home against the 49ers.
Nov 20, 2023
Two rushing TDs in statement win
Hurts completed 14 of 22 passes for 150 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Monday's 21-17 win over Kansas City. He added 29 yards and two touchdowns on 12 rushing attempts.
ANALYSIS
Hurts had just 69 passing yards and an interception through three quarters, but he got his team back into the game with a 10-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, cutting Kansas City's lead to 17-14. His arm finally heated up in the fourth, as Hurts connected with DeVonta Smith for a 41-yard gain down to the 1-yard line to set up a quarterback sneak for the go-ahead touchdown on the next play. Neither team scored in the final 6:20, allowing the Eagles to avenge their Super Bowl LVII loss and improve to 9-1. Hurts' 15:9 TD:INT through the air is nothing to write home about, but his nine rushing touchdowns heading into a Week 12 home game against the Bills are just two back of Raheem Mostert's league-leading total.

Sidesteps injury report
Hurts (knee) wasn't listed on the Eagles' first Week 11 injury report Thursday.
ANALYSIS
In the three games prior to the team's Week 10 bye, Hurts tended to a left knee injury that forced him to wear a brace for the final two outings. Hurts told EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer on Thursday that he used the midseason respite to rest and receive treatment on the knee and that he also didn't wear the brace at Philadelphia's initial session of Week 11 prep. Hurts thus appears set for Monday's rematch of Super Bowl LVII against a Chiefs defense that ranks fifth in the NFL against the pass this season at 176 yards per game.

Plays through knee injury Sunday
Hurts played all 59 of the Eagles' snaps on offense in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Cowboys, but he appeared to be playing in pain for most of the second half of the contest after taking a direct hit to his left knee late in the second quarter, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts had already been dealing with pain in the same knee for multiple weeks leading up to the contest and wore a brace on the leg for the third game in a row Sunday. Though he's proceeded to play 100 percent of the snaps on offense in each of the Eagles' first nine games, Hurts did need to leave the sideline early in the waning seconds of the first half to get extra treatment in the locker room. He was back on the field to begin the second half and turned in another productive outing for fantasy managers, committing no turnovers while finishing with 36 yards and a touchdown on the ground and completing 17 of 23 pass attempts for 207 yards and two more scores. The Eagles' Week 10 bye couldn't come at a better time for Hurts, who will get some extended rest before the team returns to action Nov. 20 at Kansas City in Week 11. While his knee injury is something his managers should still keep an eye on, Hurts will most likely open Week 11 prep as a full practice participant coming out of the bye.
Nov 5, 2023
Produces three TDs against Dallas
Hurts completed 17 of 23 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns while gaining 36 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 carries in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
While he didn't deliver a lot of yardage, Hurts came up big when it counted, tossing a 29-yard TD to DeVonta Smith and a four-yard score to A.J. Brown in the third quarter as the Eagles erased a 17-14 halftime deficit. The QB had earlier gotten into the end zone on a Brotherly Shove from the one-yard line in the second quarter. Hurts has produced at least three touchdowns in three straight games, posting an 8:1 TD:INT over that stretch while adding two rushing TDs, and he'll be able to rest over a Week 10 bye before getting ready for a Super Bowl rematch with Kansas City in Week 11.
Oct 29, 2023
Four-touchdown breakout in win
Hurts completed 29 of 38 passes for 319 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Eagles' 38-31 win over the Commanders on Sunday. He also rushed four times for six yards and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles got off to yet another sluggish start, but Hurts was key in bringing Philadelphia back to notch what turned out to be a furious comeback that included 21 fourth-quarter points. The start signal-caller connected with favorite target A.J. Brown for touchdown passes of 16 and 25 yards before adding scoring tosses of 38 and eight yards to DeVonta Smith and Julio Jones in the fourth quarter. Hurts also narrowly missed out on yet another rushing touchdown via the infamous Brotherly Shove play, but he fumbled before reaching the goal line. Hurts' touchdown tally was his highest of the season, although he did see his three-game streak with a rushing score snapped. Hurts next takes aim at the Cowboys in a Week 9 home divisional showdown.
Oct 25, 2023
Sidesteps injury report
Hurts (knee) wasn't listed on the Eagles' first Week 8 injury report Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts gutted through a left knee injury this past Sunday against the Dolphins, completing 23 of 31 passes for 279 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, rushing 11 times for 21 yards and one more TD and losing his only fumble. While he hasn't missed an offensive snap through seven games, he's already committed more turnovers (10) than he did all of last season (eight). With his health intact ahead of Sunday's contest, Hurts now will set his sights on a Commanders defense that allowed him to pass for 319 yards and two scores back in Week 4.
Oct 25, 2023
Should be fine for Sunday
Coach Nick Sirianni said Wednesday that Hurts (knee) should be fine to play without restrictions this Sunday against the Commanders, Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts played through the injury in Sunday's 31-17 win over Miami, albeit with a brace over his left knee in the second half. While he isn't expected to miss any games, it is possible Hurts' rushing production suffers in the short term.
Oct 23, 2023
Expected to be fine for Week 8
Hurts (knee) is not expected to miss any game action, and there's a good chance he doesn't even miss practice this week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was sporting a brace on his left knee during Sunday night's 31-17 win over the Dolphins but was adamant after the game that he is "fine." This seems to confirm that. Hurts' eight interceptions are already two more than he threw all of last season, and his touchdown rate has dropped in 2023. Hurts gets a juicy Week 8 date with the flailing Commanders. He tossed two touchdowns and threw for a season-high 319 yards versus Washington back in Week 4.
Oct 23, 2023
Not worried about knee injury
Hurts is believed to have sustained a knee injury during Sunday night's 31-17 win over Miami but said "I'll be fine" after the contest, Tim McManus of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts said "I hope not" when asked whether his knee will bother him going forward. Though Hurts had to play the second half of Sunday's win over the Dolphins with a brace on his left knee, three of his 11 carries came after halftime, and he still displayed plus mobility in the pocket. At this point in time it doesn't appear that Hurts is in serious danger of missing time, but it will be worth monitoring his participation in practice leading up to Week 8's road matchup against the Commanders. Backup Marcus Mariota warmed up on the sidelines to begin the second half versus Miami, though it was ultimately Hurts who took the field for Philadelphia.
Oct 23, 2023
Back on track with three TDs in win
Hurts completed 23 of 31 pass attempts for 279 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while adding 21 rushing yards and another touchdown on 11 attempts in Sunday's 31-17 win over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Hurts recovered from the three interceptions he threw in last week's upset loss to the Jets by leading his team to victory over a cross-conference contender. The star quarterback did throw another interception (his seventh of 2023) while also coughing up the ball on one of his three sacks taken Sunday. The increase in turnovers likely has less to do with a regression in play and more to do with opponents shifting their defensive focus to slow down the 2022 breakout star. Hurts still generates enough volume as a passer to complement his RB-like production on the ground to maintain elite fantasy status heading into next Sunday's tilt against Washington.
Oct 15, 2023
Turnovers lead to first loss
Hurts completed 28 of 45 pass attempts for 280 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions while rushing eight times for 47 yards and a score in Sunday's 20-14 loss to the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Hurts' three interceptions matched his previous career worst mark, resulting in Philadelphia's first loss of the season. The 25-year-old nearly threw a fourth pick on the Eagles' final comeback attempt, but the ball was simply dropped by the defender and resulted in a turnover on downs instead. Aside from the turnovers, the athletic QB still helped fantasy managers by combining for over 300 yards from scrimmage while recording his fourth game with a passing and rushing touchdown this year. Hurts remains a top fantasy option as the Eagles prepare for a potential shootout against the Dolphins next Sunday.
Oct 8, 2023
Strong dual-threat performance
Hurts completed 25 of 38 pass attempts for 303 yards, a touchdown and an interception while adding 72 yards and another score on 15 rushing attempts in Sunday's 23-14 win over the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Hurts turned in his second straight 300-yard passing game en route to another win for the 5-0 Eagles. The dual-threat quarterback produced a 15-72-1 rushing line in addition to his success through the air, effectively giving fantasy managers strong QB and RB production from one position slot. Hurts now has 10 combined touchdowns through five games while increasing his volume as a passer each week. Last season's MVP runner-up will shift his focus to a Week 6 matchup against the Jets next Sunday.
Oct 1, 2023
Big day through air in OT win
Hurts completed 25 of 37 passes for 319 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 34-31 overtime win over the Commanders. He added 34 rushing yards on nine carries.
ANALYSIS
Both scores went to A.J. Brown, a 59-yard bomb in the third quarter and a 28-yard strike in the fourth, as Hurts topped 300 passing yards and threw multiple touchdowns for the first time this season. The fourth-year quarterback now has five TDs through the air and three more on the ground through four games, and he's pose a problem in Week 5 for a Rams defense that just allowed Colts rookie QB Anthony Richardson to produce three scores of his own (two passing, one rushing).
Sep 25, 2023
Throws TD, runs in another
Hurts completed 23 of 37 passes for 277 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Monday's 25-11 win over the Buccaneers. He added 10 rushing attempts for 28 yards and a rushing touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Hurts got almost half of his yardage throwing to A.J. Brown (nine catches for 131 yards), but he also made two key throws to Olamide Zaccheaus on Philadelphia's first touchdown drive, as they connected for a 24-yard gain followed by a 34-yard touchdown three plays later to take a 10-3 lead in the second quarter. After being stuffed on a third-down quarterback sneak from the one-yard line in the third quarter, Hurts tried again on fourth down to produce his third rushing touchdown through three games. He was also picked off twice and has a pedestrian 3:3 TD:INT through the air after posting a 22:6 TD:INT in 2022. Having led Philadelphia to a 3-0 record despite throwing for just 640 yards, Hurts will next set his sights on avenging last season's home loss to the Commanders in a Week 4 rematch.
Sep 14, 2023
Three total TDs in win
Hurts completed 18 of 23 passes for 193 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Eagles' 34-28 win over the Vikings on Thursday night. He also rushed 12 times for 35 yards and two more scores.
ANALYSIS
Hurts' yardage numbers certainly won't set fantasy managers' pulses racing, but the All-Pro quarterback's three touchdowns went a long way to making up for it. Hurts one score through the air was a beauty of a 63-yard pass to DeVonta Smith early in the third quarter to help extend to the Eagles' lead to 20-7 at the time. Hurts also crossed the goal line on one-yard runs in the second and third quarter, his first two rushing touchdowns of the campaign. The fourth-year pro has curiously fallen short of the 200-yard mark through the air in the first two games of the season, but Thursday, D'Andre Swift's 175-yard rushing night helped keep Hurts' workload light and efficient. The dynamic signal-caller now gets some extra rest before a Monday night, Sept. 25 road showdown against the Buccaneers.
Sep 10, 2023
Manages Philly to win
Hurts completed 22 of 33 passes for 170 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 25-20 win over the Patriots. He added nine rushes for 37 yards while losing a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Hurts and the Eagles played through a steady rain in New England, leaving them limited in the passing attack. As a result, he mostly distributed the ball quickly and in the short areas of the field to A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, allowing his talented pass catchers to gain yards after the catch. That's reflected in his statline, as he averaged only 5.2 yards per attempt. Hurts should be in a better position to air the ball out in a Week 2 matchup against the Vikings.
Aug 24, 2023
Unlikely to play Thursday
Hurts is unlikely to play in Thursday's preseason game against Indianapolis, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
It sounds like the Eagles will focus on competitions for back-end roster spots, with even No. 2 QB Marcus Mariota expected to play just one series. Hurts can soon turn his focus to the regular season, opening with a trip to New England on Sept. 10 and then a home game against the Vikings four days later (Sept. 14). His toughest matchups are mostly bunched together in early November through early December during a five-game stretch in which the Eagles face Dallas (twice), Kansas City, Buffalo, San Francisco
Aug 17, 2023
Not suited up Thursday
Hurts isn't in uniform ahead of Thursday's preseason game against the Browns, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
If the expected outcome occurs and Hurts sits out a second consecutive exhibition, he'll have just one more chance to suit up (next Thursday, Aug. 24 versus the Colts) ahead the season opener. In Hurts' stead, Marcus Mariota likely will get the first chance to lead the Eagles offense, with Ian Book and rookie sixth-round pick Tanner McKee mixing in behind him.
Aug 12, 2023
Not expected to play Saturday
Hurts isn't slated to play in Saturday's preseason game at Baltimore, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
While Hurts was suited up for pregame warmups, he and the rest of the Eagles starters won't be available for the team's exhibition opener. With Hurts sidelined, Marcus Mariota, Ian Book and Tanner McKee are the options to man quarterback for Philadelphia. Hurts' next chance for game action will arrive this coming Thursday against the Browns.
Aug 3, 2023
Improving connection with Brown
Hurts has looked impressive in training camp practices, most notably connecting on numerous standout throws to A.J. Brown, EJ Smith of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts and Brown have been close friends since they were teenagers, so they naturally found chemistry quickly when Brown was traded to Philadelphia prior to last season. Now tasked with shaking off the disappointment of the 38-35 Super Bowl loss to Kansas City, Hurts is determined to lead the Eagles to even greater heights in 2023 while throwing to a talented group of pass catchers led by Brown, DeVonta Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert.
Apr 18, 2023
Had minor ankle procedure
Hurts underwent offseason surgery to remove "hardware" from a previous high-ankle sprain, ESPN's Tim McManus reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts originally had the hardware inserted back in 2018 when he was still at Alabama. He underwent the most recent surgery back in February following the Eagles' Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs, but Hurts has already "returned to his offseason workout routine" and appears to be ready to roll for OTAs as a full participant. Hurts is fresh off inking a five-year, $255 million extension with Philadelphia on Monday. Hurts should again be viewed as an elite fantasy quarterback, in the same tier with Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.
Apr 17, 2023
Becomes highest-paid NFL player
The Eagles signed Hurts to a five-year contract extension Monday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts' new contract is for $255 million and makes him the highest-paid player in NFL history, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Additionally, the extension through 2028 includes a no-trade clause and $179.3 million in guarantees. After leading Philadelphia to a narrow 38-35 Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs in just his second season as the Eagles' starter, it's little surprise to see general manager Howie Roseman lock in the franchise quarterback with a long-term deal. Heading into his age-25 season, Hurts has already established himself as one of the league's elite quarterbacks and one of the few premier fantasy options at the position. With A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert still headlining his receiving corps, and Rashaad Penny having filled the backfield void left by Miles Sanders' departure, Hurts is positioned well to continue his streak of outstanding production heading into the 2023 campaign.
Feb 12, 2023
Four total touchdowns in SB loss
Hurts completed 27 of 38 passes for 304 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 38-35 loss to the Chiefs. He added 15 rushes for 70 yards and three touchdowns.
ANALYSIS
As was the case for much of the season, Hurts was dynamic as both a rusher and passer. He made a mistake early in the game on a fumble that was returned for a touchdown but otherwise moved the Eagles' offense all game. Hurts connected with A.J. Brown for a deep 45-yard pass early in the second quarter for his lone passing score of the game. He also punched in three rushing touchdowns from short range. Despite Philadelphia coming up just short of a Super Bowl victory, Hurts established himself as an elite quarterback in the league in 2022.
Jan 29, 2023
Quiet performance in big win
Hurts completed 15 of 25 passes for 121 yards and added 39 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries in Sunday's 31-7 win over the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.
ANALYSIS
What seemed like it would be a fearsome battle turned into a rout after the Niners lost Brock Purdy to an elbow injury early in the game and was forced to turn to journeyman Josh Johnson (concussion) under center. As a result, the Eagles didn't really need to air it out at all, and all four of the team's TDs came on the ground. Hurts picked up one of them on a one-year run late in the third quarter, but otherwise didn't need to do too much. The low passing numbers could give rise to questions about the health of his elbow, but with two weeks to rest before the Super Bowl, Hurts should be 100 percent as Philly tries to win its second title in six years.
Jan 21, 2023
Three total TDs in playoff win
Hurts completed 16 of 24 passes for 154 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Eagles' 38-7 divisional-round win over the Giants on Saturday night. He also rushed nine times for 34 yards and another score and fumbled once but recovered.
ANALYSIS
Hurts' final numbers weren't his most spectacular by any stretch, but the versatile signal-caller was certainly efficient while parlaying three of his 25 touches into scores. The third-year star's relatively modest numbers were a reflection of how especially effective the offense was in the first half, when Hurts connected with Dallas Goedert and DeVonta Smith for scoring tosses of 16 and nine yards, respectively. Hurts then added a five-yard scoring run just before the end of the first half to cap off a 14-play, 72-yard march, and Philadelphia was largely able to rely on its ground attack the rest of the way courtesy of its 28-0 halftime lead. Hurts will now set his sights on facing either the Cowboys or 49ers in an NFC Championship Game clash a week from Sunday.
Jan 18, 2023
Set for divisional round
Hurts (shoulder) hasn't been listed on Eagles injury reports in advance of Saturday's divisional-round game against the Giants, Sage Hurley of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was sidelined Weeks 16 and 17 due to an SC joint sprain in his right throwing shoulder, but he returned to action for the regular-season finale Sunday, Jan. 8 versus the Giants. In the process of eking out a 22-16 victory, he completed 20 of 35 passes for 229 yards, no touchdowns and one interception while running nine times for 13 yards. With a first-round bye in his back pocket, Hurts has put the injury further in the rearview mirror and even noted Tuesday that he's "feeling good." While his health may not be at 100 percent, the third-year quarterback nonetheless is ready to direct Philadelphia's offense in its playoff opener.
Jan 8, 2023
Eased back into lineup
Hurts completed 20 of 35 passes for 229 yards and an interception and gained 13 rushing yards on nine carries in Sunday's 22-16 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Seeing his first action since Week 15 due to a shoulder injury, Hurts wasn't asked to do too much to help Philadelphia lock up the top seed in the NFC and a first-round bye. Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reported after the game that Hurts' shoulder was still sore, so the extra week off will help the 24-year-old quarterback get closer to 100 percent healthy ahead of the divisional round.
Jan 8, 2023
Back in action in Week 18
Hurts (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game versus the Giants
ANALYSIS
Making his first appearance since Week 15, Hurts will work through any lingering issues with his sprained right throwing shoulder as the Eagles seek the No. 1 seed in the NFC. During a Week 14 road win against the Giants, he completed 21 of 31 passes for 217 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions while rushing seven times for 77 yards and another score. Another productive outing for Hurts may be in store against a New York team that may not use many regulars due to being locked into the sixth seed in the NFC.
Jan 7, 2023
Expected to start
Hurts (shoulder), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, is expected to start, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
This always seemed like the expected course of action after Hurts managed to practice in some capacity all week, although official confirmation will likely come prior to the team's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. The Eagles can guarantee the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a win over the Giants, who are already locked into the No. 6 seed and are expected to start third-stringer Davis Webb in place of Daniel Jones according to Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record.
Jan 6, 2023
Listed as questionable
Hurts (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was a limited practice participant Wednesday through Friday, with coach Nick Sirianni saying at the end of the week that the QB is "trending in the right direction" for Sunday (per Zach Berman of The Athletic). The Eagles may treat him as a game-day decision ahead of their 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, with Gardner Minshew ready for a third start if Hurts ultimately is declared inactive. A win Sunday would give the Eagles the No. 1 seed in the NFC, while a loss would drop them to No. 5 if the Cowboys beat the Commanders. The Giants, meanwhile, are locked in as the No. 6 seed and may pull/rest some starters to prepare for the wild-card round.
Jan 6, 2023
Trending in right direction
Coach Nick Sirianni said Friday that Hurts (shoulder) is "trending in the right direction," Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts is coming off back-to-back limited practice sessions, so barring his participating in full Friday, the quarterback cold at least carry an injury designation into Sunday's matchup against the Giants. The extent of Hurts' participation Friday should be telling as to his chances of returning from a two-game absence due to a right shoulder sprain.
Jan 5, 2023
Stays limited Thursday
Hurts (right shoulder) practiced on a limited basis Thursday.
ANALYSIS
During the media-access portion of Thursday's session, Hurts went through a ball-security drill that he was absent from a week ago, according to Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Hurts also made throws with good velocity across his body while running to his left and again was the first quarterback to work in individual drills, per Tim McManus of ESPN.com. Still, Hurts logged a second consecutive capped session to kick off Week 18 prep, leaving his status up in the air for Sunday's contest against the Giants. His listing on Friday's injury report will be telling for his chances to put an end to a two-game absence due to a sprained right throwing shoulder.
Jan 4, 2023
Officially limited Wednesday
Hurts (shoulder) was limited at Wednesday's walk-through practice.
ANALYSIS
Per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Hurts worked with the first-team offense to kick off Week 18 prep, but his eventual workload wasn't enough for him to be considered a full participant. There's an expectation that Hurts will return from a two-game absence Sunday against the Giants, but he may need to log all activity in a practice to prove he's past his sprained right throwing shoulder.
Jan 4, 2023
Status still day by day
Coach Nick Sirianni said Wednesday that Hurts (shoulder) is still being evaluated day by day, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Sirianni said the Eagles would know more about Hurts' health Thursday, as Wednesday's practice is a walkthrough. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network has reported that Hurts is expected to play Sunday versus the Giants, but fantasy managers will want to monitor the situation until Sirianni officially makes a decision about the star quarterback's Week 18 status. Philadelphia is coming off back-to-back losses with Gardner Minshew under center, but a win over New York on Sunday would clinch the NFC East division title for the team.
Jan 2, 2023
Expected to play Week 18
Hurts (shoulder) is expected to play Sunday against the Giants, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, Hurts would've played in Week 17 if it had been a playoff game, but the Eagles opted exercise the utmost caution to avoid a potential setback with the star quarterback's injured shoulder. Philadelphia has missed back-to-back games without Hurts and will look to get back on track against the Giants before postseason play begins. Despite Rapoport's encouraging update, fantasy managers should still monitor Hurts' participation at practice during Week 18 prep before locking him into lineups.
Jan 1, 2023
Officially out Sunday
Hurts (shoulder) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Hurts provided a glimmer of hope when he returned to practice Thursday, but after putting together back-to-back limited sessions to end Week 17 prep, the Eagles listed him as doubtful to play Sunday due to the sprained right throwing shoulder that he suffered Week 15 in Chicago. He'll thus cede quarterback duties to Gardner Minshew on Sunday, while Hurts himself will attempt to put himself in position to return for a Week 18 matchup with the Giants.
Jan 1, 2023
Not expected to play Sunday
Hurts (right shoulder) is not in line to play Sunday against the Saints, but is expected to be available for the Eagles' Week 18 contest against the Giants, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Official confirmation of Hurts' Week 17 status will arrive when Philadelphia's inactives are posted ahead of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff, with the QB having been listed as doubtful by the team after logging limited practices Thursday and Friday. Assuming Hurts isn't available versus New Orleans, Gardner Minshew will be slated to make his second straight start, while the Eagles' approach with regard to whether or how much to play Hurts next weekend will presumably hinge on if the team has clinched the NFC's No. 1 seed or not.
Dec 30, 2022
Doubtful for Week 17
Hurts (shoulder) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Saints, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out Week 16 due to a sprained right throwing shoulder, Hurts returned to the practice field Thursday and maintained a limited listing into Friday's session. Despite showing signs of progress, though, he appears destined to be unavailable Sunday. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Friday that Hurts did show significant strides this week, so even if he doesn't play Week 17, he may be an option to suit up Week 18 against the Giants, especially if the Eagles have yet to lock up the No. 1 seed in the NFC. With Hurts expected to sit Sunday, Gardner Minshew is in line to get another start under center for Philadelphia.
Dec 29, 2022
Limited at Thursday's practice
Hurts (shoulder) practiced on a limited basis Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was on the field for warmups and proceeded to get reps ahead of both Gardner Minshew and Ian Book, per Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer. It's the first sign that a return to action may be imminent for Hurts, who sat out a Week 16 loss at Dallas due to a sprained right throwing shoulder. Friday's injury report will reveal whether or not he'll avoid a designation heading into the weekend, but he more than likely will be listed as questionable if he has a chance to play Sunday versus the Saints.
Dec 29, 2022
Back at practice Thursday
Hurts (shoulder) took part in warmups ahead of Thursday's practice, Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
This marks Hurts' first action since spraining his right throwing shoulder Dec. 18 in Chicago and his first practice since Dec. 16. According to Tolentino, Hurts actually worked ahead of fellow quarterbacks Gardner Minshew and Ian Book, a fair sign that he's potentially putting himself in position to play Sunday against the Saints. Thursday's injury report will reveal how much activity Hurts was able to handle.
Dec 28, 2022
DNP at walkthrough
Hurts (shoulder) was a non-participant at Wednesday's walk-through practice, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles still have some work to do to lock down the No. 1 seed on the NFC side of the playoffs after Saturday's loss at Dallas, but Hurts has yet to log any practice reps due to the sprained right shoulder that he suffered Week 15 in Chicago. He still has a pair of sessions available to him this week to put himself in a position to play Sunday against the Saints, but Gardner Minshew is the next man up to direct Philadelphia's offense if Hurts requires more time to rehab his injury.
Dec 25, 2022
Could push to play in Week 17
With the Eagles unable to clinch the NFC East and the NFC's No. 1 playoff seed this week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggests that Hurts (shoulder) could push to play in Week 17 against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, Hurts is considered day-to-day due to the sprained right shoulder he sustained during Week 15 action, but with the Eagles still having something to play for at this stage, it's possible that their franchise QB could return to the field as soon as next weekend. Added context on that front should arrive in the coming days, but if Hurts isn't cleared to face New Orleans, Gardner Minshew would be in line for another start.
Dec 23, 2022
Uncertain for Week 17
Hurts (shoulder), who is set to miss Saturday's game against the Cowboys, is uncertain to play in the Eagles' Week 17 matchup with the Saints, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles plan on seeing how this weekend plays out in terms of the NFC playoff picture, as well as how Hurts' shoulder responds to rest and treatment before determining his Week 17 status. The MVP candidate is recovering from a joint sprain in his throwing shoulder. More clarity on his status will come following the weekend's slate, but Gardner Minshew would be in line for another start under center if Hurts ultimately has to miss another week.
Dec 22, 2022
Officially ruled out for Week 16
The Eagles list Hurts (shoulder) as out for Saturday's game in Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed earlier Thursday that Gardner Minshew will pick up his first start of the season in place of Hurts, who won't be made available as an emergency backup after failing to practice in any capacity this week while managing a right shoulder sprain. The Eagles haven't decided on Hurts' status beyond Saturday's contest, but it's possible that the 24-year-old ends up sitting out Week 17 against the Saints and/or Week 18 against the Giants with Philadelphia close to securing the NFC's No. 1 overall seed. At least for this weekend, No. 3 quarterback Ian Book will dress as Minshew's backup while Hurts is in street clothes.

Set to miss Saturday's game
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said Thursday that he doesn't expect Hurts to be available to play Saturday in Dallas, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports. "It's looking like it's going to be Gardner [Minshew]," Sirianni said, when asked who would serve as the Eagles' starting quarterback in Week 16.
ANALYSIS
According to Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Sirianni praised Hurts' toughness and said that the signal-caller pushed to play this weekend, but after not practicing Tuesday and Wednesday, Hurts looks as though he'll miss his first game of the season. Expect the Eagles to formally rule Hurts out for the Week 16 contest following Thursday's practice, paving the way for Ian Book to dress as the backup behind Minshew. Hurts, who is recovering from a right shoulder sprain, will turn his focus to getting healthy in advance of the Eagles' Week 17 game Jan. 1 versus the Saints.

DNP on practice estimate
Hurts (shoulder) was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's estimated injury report.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles held a walkthrough to begin Week 16 prep, but Hurts wouldn't have practiced Tuesday if the team had held any sort of session as he tends to a sprained right shoulder that he sustained Sunday at Chicago. While playing through through the pain in the second half of the 25-20 win, he racked up 315 passing yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions while running 17 times for 61 yards and three scores. Coach Nick Sirianni told Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports on Tuesday, "There's a chance he could play this week. ... I will not rule him out. I will not put a timetable on him. We'll see what happens." Hurts has two more opportunities Wednesday and Thursday to join his teammates for on-field work, but if he's unable to suit up Saturday in Dallas, Philadelphia will turn to Gardner Minshew at quarterback.
Dec 20, 2022
Status in limbo for Week 16
Coach Nick Sirianni said Tuesday that Hurts has been diagnosed with a right shoulder sprain, but he also didn't rule out the quarterback for Saturday's game at Dallas, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
During Sunday's 25-20 win at Chicago, Hurts picked up the injury late in the third quarter on a rush, but he ultimately played all 73 offensive snaps. Overall, he accounted for 315 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions on 22-for-37 passing, which he offset with 17 carries for 61 yards and three TDs. Testing after the game revealed the nature of Hurts' health concern, and while there were initial concerns he may need to miss 1-to-2 contests, Sirianni dampened them during Tuesday's media availability, telling Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports, "There's a chance he could play this week. ... I will not rule him out. I will not put a timetable on him. We'll see what happens." As a result, Hurts' status will be one to monitor as the week goes on to see if Sirianni ends up rolling with him or backup Gardner Minshew under center Saturday.

Diagnosed with shoulder sprain
Hurts suffered a sprained right shoulder during Sunday's win over the Bears, and the quarterback's status for the Eagles' Week 16 game in Dallas is uncertain, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com, Hurts underwent X-rays after Sunday's win that revealed the shoulder sprain, and while multiple reports suggest the issue isn't a long-term injury, the quarterback could be sidelined for one or two games, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. The injury occurred late in the third quarter on a rushing attempt to the right side, but Hurts stayed in the game and proceeded to lead a scoring drive in the fourth quarter that he capped off with a one-yard touchdown run followed by a successful two-point conversion run. The Eagles are in good position at the top of the NFC standings, so they certainly can play it safe with the NFL MVP candidate. If Hurts is ruled out for Saturday's game in Dallas, Gardner Minshew would be in line to make his first start of the season.
Dec 18, 2022
Runs in three TDs in Week 15 win
Hurts completed 22 of 37 passes for 315 yards and two interceptions while rushing 17 times for 61 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 25-20 win over Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Hurts came into this one with only three interceptions all season but tossed two in the first half as the Eagles fell behind 6-3 before Hurts orchestrated a nine-play, 91-yard touchdown drive to take a 10-6 lead into the locker room. He capped that drive with a 22-yard rushing touchdown, then scored from one yard out in the third and fourth quarters to raise his season rushing touchdown total to 13. If Hurts can lead the Eagles to a Week 16 win in Dallas on Saturday, Philadelphia would clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC with two weeks to spare.
Dec 11, 2022
Another stellar performance Sunday
Hurts completed 21 of 31 passes for 217 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while adding 77 rushing yards and another score on seven attempts in the Eagles' 48-22 win over the Giants on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts led the Eagles to touchdowns on their first three possessions, two of them consisting of double-digit plays. The star quarterback capped off the latter two drives with 41- and 33-yard touchdown passes to DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, respectively, and he subsequently added a 10-yard touchdown run on a late third-quarter march. Hurts now has multiple scoring tosses in seven of the last eight games and rushing scores in four of the last five, affording him no shortage of momentum going into a favorable Week 15 road matchup against the Bears.
Dec 4, 2022
Four total touchdwowns
Hurts completed 29 of 39 passes for 380 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 35-10 win over the Titans. He added five rushes for 12 yards and an additional score.
ANALYSIS
Hurts took to the air a season-high 39 times, which also led to his best marks in both completions and yards. His effort was highlighted by lengthy passing touchdowns of 40, 34 and 29 yards -- his third game with at least three passing scores on the season. Hurts also chipped in his ninth rushing score of the season on a two-yard carry just before halftime. Hurts now has multiple touchdowns in seven consecutive games.
Nov 28, 2022
Goes for 310 combined yards on SNF
Hurts completed 16 of 28 pass attempts for 153 yards and two touchdowns and rushed 17 times for 157 yards in Sunday's 40-33 win over the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Hurts ran wild against the Packers' four-man rush all game long, simply hitting the huge gaps the edge rushers routinely left open for big gains. The dual-threat quarterback spearheaded a Philly rushing attack that combined for a season-high 363 yards. Hurts' two touchdown throws put him at 17 on the year, already surpassing the 16 he threw over 15 games in 2021 with six fewer interceptions. The budding superstar will face a stiff test against the Titans' dominant defense on Sunday, but Hurts has been virtually matchup-proof during this MVP-type season.
Nov 20, 2022
Solid game-winning performance
Hurts completed 18 of 25 pass attempts for 190 yards and one touchdown while running for 86 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries against Indianapolis on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The Colts successfully made the Eagles' big-play offense play a grinding, bend-but-don't-break style of offense, hoping Hurts would make mistakes when denied the big play. It was a good game plan and well-executed by the Colts, but Hurts never made the mistakes Indianapolis hoped for. In fact, Hurts put the Eagles offense on his back and stood tall against the Colts' inspired performance. Hurts and the Eagles' offense won't be denied big plays for long, and their Week 12 matchup against Green Bay could prove a viable setting for Hurts to make more big plays and hopefully take a couple fewer hits than he took in this game.
Nov 14, 2022
Undefeated season ends on MNF
Hurts completed 17 of 26 passes for 175 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Monday's 32-21 loss to the Commanders. He added 28 yards and a touchdown on six rushing attempts.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was involved as a rusher early on; Philadelphia's first offensive play was a designed quarterback run that went for 12 yards, and Hurts capped the opening drive with a one-yard touchdown plunge. His production on the ground tapered off after that, though, as the dual-threat quarterback fell short of 30 rushing yards for a fourth consecutive game. Hurts threw a six-yard touchdown to Dallas Goedert on Philadelphia's second possession to restore the seven-point lead before getting picked off on a deep ball on the following drive. Washington gained momentum from the interception and went on to take a 23-14 lead before Hurts' 11-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith pulled Philadelphia back within two. Three Eagles fumbles after that point helped Washington finish off the upset, dropping Philadelphia's record to 8-1 heading into a Week 11 trip to Indianapolis.
Nov 3, 2022
Highly efficient despite pressure
Hurts completed 21 of 27 passes for 243 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed nine times for 23 yards in the Eagles' 29-17 win over the Texans on Thursday night. He also committed two fumbles, losing one, and recorded a two-point conversion run.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was under duress frequently courtesy of a feisty Texans front, taking four sacks and losing the football on one occasion. Houston also did a good job containing Hurts whenever he took off with the ball, but the third-year quarterback ultimately did plenty of damage through the air, primarily in conjunction with Dallas Goedert and A.J. Brown. Hurts connected with the latter for a 17-yard score shortly before the halfway point of the third quarter to break a 14-14 tie, and he subsequently hit his talented tight end for a four-yard touchdown early in the final period for the final score of the night. Hurts now boasts an 8:0 TD:INT over his last three games, giving him plenty of momentum going into a Week 10 home divisional showdown against the Commanders on Monday night, Nov. 14.
Oct 30, 2022
Four touchdowns in easy win
Hurts completed 19 of 28 passes for 285 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions in Sunday's 35-13 win over the Steelers. He added two rushes for 10 yards.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was exceptionally efficient and showed rapport with A.J. Brown, connecting with his star receiver for three touchdowns of 39, 27 and 29 yards. He capped off his big performance with a 34-yard score to Zach Pascal, before being pulled early in the fourth quarter. Hurts tallied multiple passing scores for the third time this season -- he has multiple rushing touchdowns in an additional two matchups -- and continues to excel even with limited passing volume.
Oct 17, 2022
Stays perfect on SNF
Hurts completed 15 of 25 pass attempts for 155 yards and two touchdowns while adding 27 yards on nine carries in Sunday's 26-17 win over Dallas.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was bottled up by an elite Dallas defense from a yardage standpoint, resulting in his first game with less than 200 combined passing and rushing yards this season. Even with the low volume, the early MVP frontrunner made plays at crucial points of drives and had his team up by three scores at halftime. Hurts continues to show improved decision making from the pocket (6:2 TD:INT on 69 percent completion) while offering the ability to break away and turn into a power running back at a moment's notice (77/293/6). The 23-year-old's fantasy managers will have to find a replacement quarterback for Week 7 as Philadelphia enters its bye. Hurts and the undefeated Eagles will resume action against the Steelers on Oct. 30.
Oct 9, 2022
Scores twice on the ground
Hurts completed 27 of 36 passes for 239 yards against Arizona on Sunday while running for 61 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was somewhat disappointing as a passer while the Eagles offense scored just 20 points, but the Eagles got out with the win and avoided the trap game to go 5-0 through five weeks. Hurts should do better as a passer most weeks so long as he has A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert to throw to, and as this game reminded he often gets the most enviable cut of the Eagles ground game too. Hurts should continue to produce like a top fantasy quarterback, though hopefully he can get back left tackle Jordan Mailata (shoulder) before the Eagles face a potent Dallas pass rush in Week 6.
Oct 2, 2022
Saves poor passing game with TD
Hurts completed 16 of 25 pass attempts for 204 yards and an interception, adding 38 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in Sunday's 29-21 win over Jacksonville.
ANALYSIS
Hurts struggled from the pocket against the Jaguars' pass rush, resulting in his second game with zero passing touchdowns through four weeks. Luckily for his fantasy managers, the dual-threat was able to offset a poor passing game with his fourth rushing touchdown. The 24-year-old's ability as a rusher has complemented his improved passing this season (67 completion percentage and 280.0 passing yards per game). Hurts will look to keep the Eagles undefeated in a matchup against the Cardinals -- who have allowed 281.0 passing yards per game to date -- next Sunday.
Sep 25, 2022
Another huge game
Hurts completed 22 of 35 passes for 340 yards and three touchdowns against Washington on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles offense is rolling right now and defenses haven't had an answer for Hurts in his first three games. The addition of A.J. Brown has taken the offense to a new level, and so far no defense has been able to stop Hurts, Brown and DeVonta Smith at once. The combined threat of those three forces defenses to play spread out, and Hurts' Week 4 opponent (Jacksonville) struggled in Week 1 against Washington's spread-out game plan. It's not obvious why Hurts would slow down anytime soon.
Sep 19, 2022
Stellar in Week 2 victory
Hurts completed 26 of 31 passes for 333 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Eagles' 24-7 win over the Vikings on Monday night, adding 11 rushes for 57 yards and two additional scores. He also committed a fumble recovered by Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Hurts turned in an even more impressive outing than he had during the Eagles' 38-point haul in Week 1 against the Lions, putting together a nearly perfect passing performance that saw him average a whopping 10.7 yards per attempt. The mobile signal-caller also used his legs with great effectiveness for the second time in as many games to open the season, scoring from three and 26 yards out. Hurts did a good job ensuring two important targets that had been left out of the Week 1 fun altogether -- DeVonta Smith and Quez Watkins -- were involved in significant fashion, connecting with the former on a team-high seven occasions for 80 yards and the latter for a 53-yard touchdown on one on of his two catches. Hurts' next opportunity to build on a stellar start to the season comes in a Week 3 divisional road matchup against the Commanders on Sunday.
Sep 11, 2022
Stars in wild Week 1 win
Hurts completed 18 of 32 passes for 243 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed 17 times for 90 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 38-35 win over the Lions on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
While the Eagles' first possession ended on downs, Hurts came back to helm a 13-play, 82-yard march during which he completed four passes for 62 yards to new acquisition A.J. Brown and then capped it off with a one-yard touchdown run. Hurts would go on to do plenty of damage on the ground and turn in a solid effort through the air overall, even as DeVonta Smith was blanked on the stat sheet. Hurts heavily focused on Brown to the tune of 13 targets, but there's little doubt the likes of Smith, Dallas Goedert and Quez Watkins will be more involved in coming weeks. Hurts' first opportunity to build on the strong season-opening effort comes in a Monday night home showdown against the Vikings on Sept. 19.
Aug 27, 2022
Not in line to play Saturday
Hurts is unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Dolphins with coach Nick Sirianni expected to sit Eagles starters, Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles' dual threat QB thus is in line to see his next game action Week 1 against the Lions on Sunday, Sept. 11, at which point his top pass-catching options will be wideouts A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert.
Aug 21, 2022
Not expected to play Sunday
With the Eagles in line to rest key starters, Hurts isn't expected to play in Sunday's preseason game against the Browns, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
In that context, Gardner Minshew, Reid Sinnett and Carson Strong are the team's available QBs on Sunday, while Hurts' final opportunity to see preseason action arrives next Saturday against the Dolphins.
Aug 13, 2022
Sharp to open preseason
Hurts completed all six of his passes for 80 yards and a touchdown in Friday's 24-21 preseason loss to the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Hurts played one offensive possession but showed accuracy to all areas of the field. He opened the performance with a 28-yard completion to Quez Watkins and moved the ball patiently down the field before capping the drive with a 22-yard touchdown toss to Dallas Goedert. Hurts is locked in as the Eagles' starting quarterback in 2022, and he'll look to build on his strong 2021 season, when he completed 61 percent of his passes and averaged 7.3 yards per attempt.
Aug 10, 2022
Set for a few preseason series
Coach Nick Sirianni said Hurts and the starting offense will handle one or two series during Friday's preseason opener against the Jets, Bo Wulf of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts may end up commanding a first-team offense without the protection of Jordan Mailata (concussion) or Jason Kelce (elbow), but the Eagles nonetheless plan for the starters to get some work in Friday. Cam Jurgens seems the favorite to start at center in place of Kelce. Hurts, meanwhile, will be able to benefit from some game reps with new top wideout A.J. Brown, though DeVonta Smith (groin) could sit out as he continues to deal with a minor injury.

Says he healthy at OTAs
Hurts (ankle) told reporters Wednesday that he's healthy following offseason surgery, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Hurts is healthy for the start of OTAs after electing to undergo offseason surgery on his left ankle to address a lingering issue he faced during the stretch run of the 2021 campaign. A healthy Hurts paired with the newly acquired A.J. Brown should be intriguing for both Philadelphia fans and fantasy managers
Apr 29, 2022
Gains new passing target
The Eagles bolstered the pass-catching corps that Hurts (ankle) will be working with this coming season by trading for wideout A.J. Brown, Tim McManus of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The 6-foot-1, 226 pound Brown -- who subsequently agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract with the Eagles -- will provide the team with a talented and experienced wideout to pair with 6-foot, 170-pounder DeVonta Smith, who Philadelphia drafted 10th overall last year. Along with that improved 1-2 WR punch, Hurts also has a quality tight end to throw to in Dallas Goedert, with the likes of Quez Watkins, Zach Pascal and Jalen Reagor also in the mix for passing targets. Hurts, who is bouncing back from an offseason procedure on his ankle, thus has a chance to grow as a passer in his third season as a pro and any improvement on that front would bolster the 2020 second-rounder's fantasy prospects, which last season were driven by his production as a rusher (784 yards, 10 TDs).
Feb 2, 2022
Undergoing ankle procedure
Hurts (ankle) will undergo surgery and is expected to fully recover in time for the start of OTAs, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts played through an ankle injury down the stretch of the 2021 campaign, and he was spotted in a walking boot after the Eagles' playoff loss to the Buccaneers. Barring any recovery setbacks, it appears that Hurts' procedure won't have a noticeable impact on his participation in offseason activities. General manager Howie Roseman said mid-January that Hurts has performed well enough on the field to have solidified himself as Philadelphia's starter for the 2022 season, which should invest dynasty managers with some amount of confidence about the young signal-caller's situational stability.
Jan 19, 2022
Gets vote of confidence from GM
Eagles GM Howie Roseman said Hurts (ankle) has shown enough to keep his job as the starting quarterback, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles have the requisite cap space and draft picks to pursue an upgrade, but Roseman said his plan for the offseason is to build around Hurts, who went 8-7-0 as a starter in 2021 and finished the regular season with 3,144 passing yards, 784 rushing yards, 26 total touchdowns and 11 turnovers. While he placed just 26th among 31 qualified passers in completion percentage (61.3), Hurts was above-average at avoiding sacks and turnovers, in addition to leading all QBs in rushing yards and rushing TDs (10). That's solid work for an age-23 season, especially given that Hurts has been stuck with a different coaching staff four straight years dating back to college. He'll now have continuity with HC Nick Sirianni and OC Shane Steichen, as well as WR DeVonta Smith and TE Dallas Goedert. First, Hurts figures to take some time to rest and recover, hoping to avoid offseason surgery on the ankle he initially injured in late November.
Jan 16, 2022
In walking boot after Sunday's loss
Following Sunday's playoff loss to the Buccaneers, Hurts sported a walking boot that he hinted was related to the ankle injury he sustained in Week 12, Mike Kaye of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts also noted that he hopes he doesn't need surgery, but evidently that possibility could potentially be on the table as the Eagles head into their offseason. Either way, the 2020 second-rounder has plenty of time to heal up before Philadelphia re-takes the field. However it remains to be seen what, if any, QB competition is added in the coming months by the franchise, which holds three first-round draft choices in 2022.
Jan 16, 2022
Produces late
Hurts competed 23 of 43 passes for 258 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 31-15 wild-card round loss to Tampa Bay. He added eight rushes for 39 yards.
ANALYSIS
Hurts and the entire Philadelphia offense struggled mightily for the majority of the game, as he picked up 107 passing yards and his lone touchdown in the final quarter that began with the team down 31-0. Otherwise, Hurts put together an uninspiring performance that was largely dominated by wayward and mistimed throws. He was even stymied on the ground and held below 40 rushing yards for the third time in his last four starts. Though Hurts managed to lead the Eagles into the postseason, his performance in Sunday's loss could call his long-term future as the starting quarterback into question -- particularly given that the team has three first-round picks.
Jan 12, 2022
Another full practice Wednesday
Hurts (ankle) was a full participant at Wednesday's walkthrough.
ANALYSIS
While it wasn't a full practice session, Hurts still has managed to be listing as full on a second consecutive injury report dating back to last week. The Eagles opted to keep the second-year pro on the sideline this past Saturday versus the Cowboys, allowing Gardner Minshew (19-for-33 passing for 186 yards, two touchdowns and one interception) a spot start under center. With Hurts continuing to demonstrate the health of the ankle injury that has lingered since Week 12, he's slated to lead the offense again for Sunday's postseason opener in Tampa Bay.
Jan 8, 2022
Sitting out in Week 18
Hurts (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Saturday against the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Hurts tended to a lingering ankle injury during Week 18 prep, but he managed a full practice Thursday and entered the weekend with no designation. Still, the Eagles are opting to give him a respite before the wild-card round of the playoffs. With Hurts in street clothes, Gardner Minshew will direct Philadelphia's offense in the regular-season finale.
Jan 8, 2022
Could yield snaps to Minshew in Week 18
Though Hurts does not carry a Week 18 injury designation, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network expects backup QB Gardner Minshew to see an increased role Saturday night against the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
With multiple key players sidelined due to injury or their placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list and the Eagles not having a lot to gain in terms of playing seeding, Hurts is among the players the team could choose to rest or limit versus Dallas. With that in mind, Hurts is a risky fantasy lineup option Saturday, while Minshew seems likely to see added snaps in Philadelphia's regular-season finale.
Jan 6, 2022
Clear for Saturday's game
Hurts (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Saturday's game versus the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
After opening Week 18 prep with back-to-back limited sessions, Hurts bumped up to all activity at Thursday's practice, setting the stage for him to be available this weekend. Coach Nick Sirianni acknowledged Thursday that Hurts still is dealing with the sprained ankle he picked up Week 12 at the Giants and forced him to sit out Week 13 at the Jets, per Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal. Since the Eagles' Week 14 bye, Hurts has suited up in three straight games, averaging 236 yards on 66.7 percent passing, tossing three touchdowns versus one interception and taking 17 carries for 89 yards and two more scores.
Jan 5, 2022
Limited again Wednesday
Hurts (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles continue to manage Hurts' practice reps due to the ankle sprain that sidelined him Week 13. In three ensuing victories, he's completed 66.7 percent of his passes for 709 yards, three touchdowns and one interception while taking 17 carries for 89 yards and two more scores. Hurts' status for Saturday's game against the Cowboys may receive some clarity upon the release of Thursday's injury report.
Jan 4, 2022
Limited in first Week 18 practice
The Eagles listed Hurts (ankle) as a limited participant in Tuesday's walk-through practice.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was sidelined for the Eagles' Week 13 win over the Jets with a sprained ankle, but he returned to the lineup following the team's Week 14 bye and has directed the offense in three straight victories. Though Hurts has dialed back his involvement on the ground to some degree over the past three weeks, the Eagles didn't provide any indication he aggravated the ankle injury coming out of Sunday's win over Washington. As such, Hurts is likely just getting some extra maintenance to begin the week as the Eagles face a quick turnaround for the regular-season finale with a matchup Saturday versus the Cowboys.
Jan 2, 2022
Can't find end zone
Hurts completed 17 of 26 pass attempts for 214 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 20-16 win over Washington. He added seven rushes for 44 yards.
ANALYSIS
Hurts moved Philadelphia's offense effectively as he averaged 8.2 yards per attempt and connected on deep passes to both DeVonta Smith and Greg Ward. However, his fantasy performance was less inspiring, as he ran for under 50 yards for the third consecutive game. He also couldn't find the end zone either through the air or on the ground with Boston Scott instead tallying two touchdowns. Hurts has showed improvement as a passer late in the season, though Philadelphia's emphasis on running the ball diminishes his potential to produce, barring his own rushing production.
Dec 31, 2021
Good to go
Hurts (ankle) was a full practice participant Thursday and Friday and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Washington.
ANALYSIS
Hurts has scaled back his practice workload since returning from the ankle injury, but that hasn't stopped him from scoring five total TDs in back-to-back wins, including a 27-17 victory over Washington in Week 15. He'll be on the a road for a rematch two weeks later, with Philadelphia again having the advantage in terms of injury/COVID absences, though not quite to the same extent as last time.
Dec 30, 2021
Logs full practice Thursday
Hurts (ankle) is trending toward approaching Sunday's game against Washington minus a Week 17 injury designation after practicing fully Thursday.
ANALYSIS
With the full session, Hurts is ahead of where he was last week when he logged a limited practice on Thursday. In the Eagles' Week 16 win over the Giants, Hurts rushed just twice for seven yards, but it's plausible that as he distances himself from the ankle sprain he suffered Week 12, the QB could log more attempts this weekend, with Philadelphia's top two backs Miles Sanders (hand, out) and Jordan Howard (stinger) both banged up.
Dec 30, 2021
Full practice Thursday
Hurts (ankle) practiced in Jenna Laine of ESPN.com Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts got in his first uncapped session one day earlier than he did last week, paving the way for him to be under center for the Eagles on Sunday at Washington. When he faced the Football Team two weeks ago, he completed 20 of 26 passes for 296 yards, one touchdown and one interception while turning eight carries into 38 yards and two more scores in the 27-17 win.
Dec 29, 2021
Limited in practice
Hurts (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
The ankle injury from November continues to limit Hurts' participation in practice, even after he started and finished back-to-back games without incident. He's thrown for three TDs and run for two more in two games since returning form the injury, and he'll now face a Washington defense that's been beat up on for most of the season. Hurts himself just hit Washington for 337 total yards and three TDs in the 27-17 victory Week 15.
Dec 26, 2021
Pair of scoring tosses in win
Hurts completed 17 of 29 passes for 199 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Eagles' 34-10 win over the Giants on Sunday. He also rushed twice for seven yards and committed a fumble recovered by the offense.
ANALYSIS
Hurts' day -- and by extension, that of the entire Eagles offense -- began slowly in the first half before Philadelphia came alive on that side of the ball with some help from its defense over the final two quarters. Hurts did his part with a pair of scoring tosses to DeVonta Smith and offensive lineman Lane Johnson in the third and fourth quarter, respectively, his first multi-touchdown effort through the air since Week 10. Hurts was also very subdued on the ground while amassing his fewest rushing yards on the season by far, but he retains plenty of upside in that department heading into a Week 17 road battle at Washington that could be critical to both teams' playoff hopes.
Dec 24, 2021
Ready for Week 16
Hurts (ankle) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game versus the Giants.
ANALYSIS
After kicking off the week with back-to-back limited listings on Eagles injury reports, Hurts capped it with a full practice Friday, clearing him to play Sunday. He's coming off a three-touchdown effort that included 296 yards passing and 38 more yards on the ground Tuesday against Washington. Hurts will aim to do something similar against the Giants' 19th-ranked pass defense.
Dec 23, 2021
Limited at Thursday's walkthrough
Hurts (ankle) was listed as limited on Thursday's practice report.

After the Eagles didn't hold a practice Wednesday, they returned to the field Thursday in a walkthrough setting. Hurts was 'limited' both days as he continues his recovery from a high left ankle sprain. He was able to gut it out and produce Tuesday versus Washington, completing 20 of 26 passes for 296 yards, running for 38 yards on eight carries and scoring three total TDs (one passing, two rushing). Friday's injury report will clarify whether Hurts enters the weekend with a game-day designation.
Dec 22, 2021
Limited on practice estimate
Hurts (ankle) was limited on Wednesday's estimated practice report.
ANALYSIS
After missing one game and benefiting from the Eagles' late bye, Hurts returned to action Tuesday against Washington and turned in one of his more productive performances of the season. Overall, he completed 20 of 26 passes for 296 yards, one touchdown and one interception and compiled eight carries for 38 yards and two more scores in the 27-17 victory. It's no surprise Hurts' practice reps are being managed this week less than a month removed from sustaining a high left ankle sprain, and he'll have two more practices before Philadelphia potentially tags him with a designation for Sunday's contest versus the Giants.
Dec 21, 2021
Stellar showing in win
Hurts completed 20 of 26 passes for 296 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Eagles' 27-17 win over Washington on Tuesday night. He also rushed eight times for 38 yards and two more scores while committing two fumbles, losing one.
ANALYSIS
The issues with ball security notwithstanding, Hurts turned in an excellent all-around effort at a critical juncture in the fantasy calendar. The second-year signal-caller's first two scores of the night came on his own one-yard sneaks in the second and third quarters, respectively, and he created some valuable breathing room for Washington with a 19-yard touchdown toss to Greg Ward that would serve as the final points of the night. The yardage tally was Hurts' best since way back in Week 4 against the Chiefs, and the pair of rushing scores give him five over the last three games. With his five-game streak of sub-200-yard tallies snapped, Hurts heads into a Week 16 battle against the spiraling Giants with plenty of momentum.
Dec 20, 2021
Cleared for Week 15
Hurts (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Tuesday's game against Washington.
ANALYSIS
After he was listed as a full participant on practice reports issued Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Hurts has seemingly proven to the Philadelphia coaching and training staffs that his sprained left ankle is no longer a concern. Though he sat out the Eagles' Week 13 win over the Jets with the injury, Hurts received some added time to heal up thanks to a Week 14 bye along with the NFL's decision to push the Week 15 matchup with the Football Team back two days due to COVID-19 concerns within the Washington organization. According to Chris Franklin of The Newark Star-Ledger, Hurts is in line to start Tuesday's game, even after Gardner Minshew turned in a strong outing in place of Hurts back in Week 15.
Dec 19, 2021
Remains 'full' on injury report
Hurts (ankle) was listed as a full participant on Sunday's injury report.
ANALYSIS
Hurts opened Week 15 prep with consecutive 'limited' listings before the Eagles bumped him up to full Friday and called him questionable for a Week 15 game against Washington. But that's before the NFL moved back the scheduled Sunday matchup to Tuesday due to a significant amount of Washington players residing on the reserve/COVID-19 list. With additional time to get his sprained left ankle healthier, Hurts has continued to log full practices and may head into Tuesday without a designation whatsoever. If he does, it would mark his first action since Week 12. On the other hand, an inactive Hurts would yield to Gardner Minshew, who racked up 242 yards and two touchdowns through the air in a spot start Week 13 at the Jets.
Dec 17, 2021
Eagles-Washington moved to Tuesday
Hurts (ankle) and the Eagles will no longer play Washington on Sunday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
ANALYSIS
Due to ongoing COVID-19-related concerns within Washington's organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, the Football Team will restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster. The delay should provide more healing time for Hurts, who sat out the Eagles' Week 13 win over the Jets with a left ankle sprain before Philadelphia went on bye Week 14. Hurts returned to practice this week and upgraded to full participation Friday after limited activity Wednesday and Thursday, but the Eagles still gave him a questionable designation heading into the weekend. Head coach Nick Sirianni previously said that Hurts would be the team's starter when healthy, but if the Eagles have any reservations about the second-year signal-caller's status by the time Tuesday arrives, Gardner Minshew will be prepared to make his second straight start.
Dec 17, 2021
Full practice, still questionable
Hurts (ankle) was a full practice participant Friday but will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Washington, Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It sounds like the upgrade in practice participation won't necessarily equate to active status come Sunday, with Eagles coach Nick Sirianni essentially leaving it up in the air when he talked with the media Friday afternoon. Hurst has clearly made progress, but the team can afford to be cautious given that Gardner Minshew is one of the better backup QBs in the league and would be facing a thinned-out Washington team that's dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak.
Dec 16, 2021
Stays limited at practice
Hurts (ankle) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts similarly was listed on Wednesday's injury report, but on Thursday he was the first quarterback to log a handoff as he split first-team reps with backup Gardner Minshew. When the quarterbacks moved on to another drill, though, Hurts walked slowly while Minshew and Reid Sinnett jogged to the next destination, according to Zach Berman of The Athletic. Hurts missed the Eagles' last game prior to the team's Week 14 bye, and it remains to be seen if he'll be cleared to play from the high left-ankle sprain he sustained Nov. 28.
Dec 15, 2021
Limited Wednesday
Hurts (ankle) was listed as limited on Wednesday's estimated injury report.
ANALYSIS
Earlier Wednesday, coach Nick Sirianni relayed to Tim McManus of ESPN.com that Hurts was "trending upwards" as he recovers from a high left ankle sprain, which sidelined him in the Eagles' last game Week 13 before the team's bye. Hurts continues to split first-team reps with Gardner Minshew, likely as a contingency in the event the former can't go this weekend. In the end, though, there's an expectation Hurts will be able to return for Sunday's game against Washington.
Dec 15, 2021
Trending in right direction
Coach Nick Sirianni said Wednesday that Hurts (ankle) is "trending upwards" for Week 15, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts and Gardner Minshew will split reps at Wednesday's practice, per Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia, but it looks like the second-year signal-caller out of Oklahoma is trending toward availability after having missed his first game of the season Week 13. Of course, the Eagles won't need to confirm Hurts' status until after he's been fully evaluated at practice over the next few days. Sirianni also said Miles Sanders (ankle) and Jason Kelce (knee) are "hopeful" for Sunday's divisional matchup against Washington.
Dec 12, 2021
Should be ready for Week 15
Hurts (ankle) is expected to be fully healthy and available to start in the Eagles' next game Week 15 versus Washington, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts' sprained left ankle caused him to miss his first game of the season Week 13, clearing the way for Gardner Minshew to pick up a spot start. The third-year signal-caller was impressive in place of Hurts, completing 20 of 25 attempts for 242 yards and two touchdowns to guide the Eagles to a 33-18 win over the Jets. Despite Minshew's outstanding showing and Hurts' inconsistency as a passer through the team's first 12 games, head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed after the win over the Jets that the latter would retain the starting job coming out of the Eagles' Week 14 bye, if healthy. Hurts looks like he'll be ready to go for the matchup with Washington, but he likely won't be officially confirmed as the team's starter until he resumes practicing as a full participant in the next few days.
Dec 7, 2021
Will retain starting gig
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni reiterated Monday that Hurts (ankle) will be the team's starting quarterback if healthy following a Week 14 bye, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was sidelined for the Eagles' Week 13 win over the Jets due to a left high-ankle sprain, which he sustained in Philadelphia's 13-7 loss to the Giants in Week 12. Though fill-in starter Gardner Minshew was highly efficient (20-for-25 for 242 yards and two touchdowns) in his stead, Hurts' overall body of work looks like it'll be enough for him to maintain the top spot on the depth chart if he's deemed ready to go for the Eagles' Week 15 game against Washington on Dec. 19. While Minshew likely amounts to an upgrade in terms of accuracy, Hurts' proficiency as a runner -- he's totaled 695 rushing yards and eight scores on the ground through 12 games -- makes him the higher-ceiling fantasy option of the two.
Dec 5, 2021
Has high ankle sprain
Hurts, who is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, has a high ankle sprain but is only expected to miss one game, Jay Glazer reported on Fox NFL Sunday.
ANALYSIS
After spraining his ankle in Philadelphia's Week 12 loss to the Giants, Hurts practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday through Friday, but will miss Sunday's game. His participation in practice suggests this will be a short-term absence, but Glazer's report that it's a high ankle adds more uncertainty to his Week 15 availability. However, Hurts will have time to recover with the Eagles on a bye next week. Gardner Minshew will start with Hurts out while Reid Sinnett serves as his backup.
Dec 5, 2021
Sidelined Week 13, as expected
Hurts (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets.
ANALYSIS
After spraining his ankle in Philadelphia's Week 12 loss to the Giants, Hurts practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday through Friday, but reports leading up to Sunday suggested the Eagles would err on the side of caution and hold the second-year signal-caller out this weekend. Hurts' inclusion on the inactive list for the first time this season thus comes as no surprise, paving the way for Gardner Minshew to pick up a start while Reid Sinnett serves as his backup. Though the presence of Minshew behind center could actually provide an upgrade for the Eagles' pass catchers, he won't be able to match Hurts as a runner. The absence of Hurts -- who ranks fifth in the league in rushing scores (eight) and 10th in rushing yards (695) -- may also help lead back Miles Sanders, who projects to see a larger portion of the Eagles' carries, including more touches in goal-to-go situations. The Eagles are on bye Week 14, so Hurts should have a good chance at returning to the lineup for the team's Week 15 contest Dec. 19 aga
Dec 4, 2021
Unlikely to play Sunday
Hurts (ankle) isn't expected to play in Sunday's road game against the Jets, NFL reporter Derrick Gunn reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts emerged from a Week 12 loss to the Giants with a sore left ankle, and both the quarterback and coach Nick Sirianni initially were confident he'd be able to gut it out and play this weekend. While he logged limited sessions Wednesday through Friday, Hurts split first-team reps with backup Gardner Minshew, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Ultimately, the Eagles appear poised to keep an eye toward the future and not risk a more significant injury with Hurts, allowing Minshew to be the primary signal-caller Sunday. Such a decision will be confirmed about 90 minutes before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 3, 2021
Questionable for Sunday
Coach Nick Sirianni said Hurts (ankle) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, after splitting first-team practice reps 50/50 with Gardner Minshew this week, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Sirianni sounded more confident earlier in the week, while Hurts himself said Wednesday that he'd be fine for Sunday's game. The 23-year-old QB now appears closer to truly questionable, though it is a situation where gamesmanship could be a factor, as the Eagles' running game in particular would look different with backup Gardner Minshew replacing Hurts, who enters Sunday ranked 10th in the league for rushing yards (695) and tied for fifth in rushing TDs (eight). Whatever the case, fantasy managers will need to treat Hurts as truly questionable, with the benefit of an early kickoff (1:00 ET on Sunday) if he ends up a true game-time decision.
Dec 2, 2021
Maintains limited practice activity
Hurts (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
After he was estimated as a limited participant for Wednesday's walk-through session, Hurts maintained the same level of activity while the Eagles held a more traditional practice session Thursday. While both Hurts himself as well as head coach Nick Sirianni have expressed varying degrees of optimism that the quarterback will be ready to go for Sunday's game against the Jets, what Hurts is able to do at Friday's practice will likely be the deciding factor in whether he carries a designation into the contest. Even if Hurts ultimately gets the green light to suit up and start, fantasy managers may not have a clear idea to what extent his sprained left ankle affects him from a rushing/mobility standpoint. Given that much of Hurts' fantasy value is reliant on his production on the ground -- he's averaging 57.9 rushing yards and 0.66 rushing touchdowns per game -- he may not be as dependable of a lineup option as he typically is, even in a favorable matchup with a porous Jets run defense.
Dec 1, 2021
Listed as limited Wednesday
Hurts (ankle) was limited at Wednesday's walkthrough.
ANALYSIS
Coach Nick Sirianni noted Monday that Hurts is dealing with left ankle soreness at the moment, but it didn't stop him from stepping foot on the practice field Wednesday. Both Siranni (via Tim McManus of ESPN.com) and Hurts (per Zach Berman of The Athletic) said that the quarterback expects to play Sunday versus the Jets, and prior to Wednesday's session he didn't exhibit a limp, according to Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Despite the optimism and how healthy Hurts appears to be, his status should continue to be monitored to ensure he indeed is available this weekend.
Dec 1, 2021
Says he'll play
Hurts (ankle) said Wednesday that he will play in Sunday's game against the Jets, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts sounded more confident than coach Nick Sirianni, who stopped short of promises but did say earlier Wednesday that he expected his starting quarterback to play. Of course, players often are too optimistic when it comes to injuries, but in this case Hurts seems ready to back it up on the practice field, starting with his participation in Wednesday's walk-through session. Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer notes that Hurts didn't appear to have a limp while walking to practice, while the QB said he's already played through multiple injuries this year and isn't worried about his left ankle.
Dec 1, 2021
Participating in walk-through
Hurts (ankle) will participate in Wednesday's walk-through practice, with coach Nick Sirianni noting that he expects the quarterback to play Sunday against the Jets, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts came out of Sunday's 13-7 loss to the Giants with an ankle injury, and while he seemingly expects to play through it, his participation in the walk-through doesn't come with any guarantees. Participation on Thursday would be a stronger sign in favor of Hurts suiting up, though Sirianni did say he'll have contingency plans in case his starter can't play or has limited mobility, per Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal. Gardner Minshew is the Eagles' backup quarterback.
Nov 29, 2021
Managing left ankle soreness
Hurts is dealing with left ankle soreness following Sunday's loss to the Giants, Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts struggled in Sunday's matchup and completed 14 of 31 passes for 129 yards and three interceptions while rushing eight times for 77 yards. It's not yet clear whether the issue will impact the quarterback's availability for Sunday's Week 13 contest against the Jets, but coach Nick Sirianni said Monday that the team will have a better idea of the 23-year-old's status Wednesday. If Hurts is unavailable Sunday, Gardner Minshew would likely take on a starting role.
Nov 28, 2021
Struggles on the road
Hurts completed 14 of 31 pass attempts for 129 yards and three interceptions while running for 77 yards on eight carries against the Giants on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts could have had a game-winning touchdown pass at the end if Jalen Reagor had caught one of two on-target passes in traffic, but both were dropped and the comeback attempt ended with the score 13-7. After conducting a more run-heavy offense in recent weeks the Eagles went pass-happy to open this game, and coincidence or not Hurts struggled worse than he has in a month or so. A game against the Jets in Week 13 could be just what Hurts needs to hit his stride again, but according to ESPN's Tim McManus Hurts was described by coach Nick Sirianni as "a little hobbled" with an ankle injury late in Sunday's loss. That ankle should be monitored over the course of the week.
Nov 21, 2021
Three rushing scores in win
Hurts completed 13 of 24 passes for 147 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and added 69 yards and three rushing touchdowns on 18 carries in the Eagles' 40-29 win over the Saints on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hurts once again turned in a relatively subdued performance through the air, falling short of 200 passing yards for the fourth straight game and sixth in the last seven overall. However, the athletic second-year signal-caller also remained free of turnovers and managed to top 50 rushing yards for fifth straight contest while furnishing his third multi-rushing-touchdown effort of the campaign. Hurts' statistical downturn through the air remains somewhat confusing considering he threw for between 264 and 387 yards in three of his first four games of the season, and it can certainly be costly in games when he can't offset it with some strong rushing production. However, he'll remain a highly viable option in all formats for a Week 12 divisional clash against the Giants.
Nov 14, 2021
Tosses two TDs in win
Hurts completed 16 of 23 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 30-13 win over the Broncos. He also gained 53 rushing yards on 14 carries.
ANALYSIS
The second-year QB failed to reach 200 passing yards for the fifth time in the last six games, but between his running and two first-half TD passes to DeVonta Smith, Hurts was able to put together a productive performance. He's now eclipsed 2,000 passing yards and 500 rushing yards on the season heading into a Week 11 tilt against the Saints.
Nov 7, 2021
Not much passing again
Hurts completed 11 of 17 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown and gained 62 yards on 10 carries in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
For the second straight game, Hurts attempted fewer than 20 passes, and for the fourth time in the last five games he threw for fewer than 200 yards. What tosses he did make mostly went to DeVonta Smith, as the rookie hauled in 71.6 percent of his passing yards. Hurts' running gives him a strong fantasy floor, but the Eagles' reluctance to let him loose as a passer limits his ceiling heading into a Week 10 clash with the Broncos.
Oct 31, 2021
Hardly needs to pass in win
Hurts completed nine of his 14 passing attempts for 103 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and added seven carries for 71 yards in Sunday's 44-6 win over the Lions.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles were able to run at will on Detroit and had a three-score lead at the half, so Hurts' arm took a back seat in this one. All of his passing numbers were season lows. On the bright side, he led the team in rushing. With a much better opposing offense on tap in the Chargers in Week 9, the 23-year-old will likely have to throw more to keep up the pace.
Oct 24, 2021
Solid showing in Week 7 loss
Hurts completed 18 of 34 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns while gaining a team-high 61 rushing yards on 13 carries in Sunday's 33-22 loss to the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
While the second-year quarterback once again wasn't particularly efficient as a passer and he did lose his first fumble of the year, Hurts still found Kenneth Gainwell and Jalen Reagor for scores through the air and also hit Dallas Goedert for a two-point conversion. Hurts will take a 10:4 TD:INT, plus five rushing TDs, into a Week 8 matchup on the road against the Lions.
Oct 14, 2021
Three total TDs despite struggles
Hurts completed 12 of 26 passes for 115 yards with one touchdown and one interception and added 44 yards and another two scores on 10 carries in the Eagles' 28-22 loss to the Buccaneers on Thursday night. He also completed a two-point conversion pass.
ANALYSIS
The second-year signal-caller simply couldn't find any consistent rhythm as a passer, but his ability to make plays with his legs still left his fantasy managers pleased. Hurts scooted in from six and two yards out in the second half to help the Eagles make things interesting, a pair of scores that were preceded by a five-yard touchdown toss to Zach Ertz in the first quarter. Hurts now has back-to-back sub-200-yard efforts, and his passing yardage total was also a season-low figure. However, he sports four consecutive multi-touchdown tallies as well, and he'll look to boost his overall numbers back up in a Week 7 road matchup against the Raiders a week from Sunday.
Oct 3, 2021
Two TDs in loss, two more negated
Hurts completed 32 of 48 passes for 387 yards and two touchdowns to go with eight carries for 47 yards in Sunday's 42-30 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Hurts found Dallas Goedert for a three-yard touchdown in the first quarter but later had would-be touchdowns to Goedert and Zach Ertz wiped out by penalties, as the Eagles ended up settling for field goals in both instances. He moved the ball well through the air and actually led the team in rushing yards as well, but Hurts couldn't keep pace with Patrick Mahomes and the high-powered Chiefs offense. Hurts padded his stats with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Greg Ward with four seconds remaining, bringing his TD:INT to 7:2 heading into a Week 5 trip to Carolina.
Sep 28, 2021
Struggles despite yardage
Hurts completed 25 of 39 passes for 326 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Monday night's 41-21 loss to the Cowboys. He also rushed nine times for 35 yards.
ANALYSIS
Hurts' first play was a 38-yard connection with Dallas Goedert, but the quarterback was promptly intercepted on an attempted deep ball afterward. The Eagles and their starting signal-caller struggled to move the ball following that turnover, punting four straight times to end the first half. To begin the second, Hurts saw rookie wideout DeVonta Smith slip while getting out of his break on a target near the sideline, allowing fellow college teammate Trevon Diggs to intercept him and run 59 yards for a touchdown. With the score already lopsided at that point, Hurts at least racked up yardage while being forced to pass for the remainder of the contest, picking up a pair of touchdown passes along the way. He also again offered extra value on the ground, but overall Hurt's performance was much less flattering than his scrimmage yardage suggests. He'll strive for an improved effort in Week 4 versus the Chiefs.
Sep 19, 2021
Gets it done as rusher
Hurts completed 12 of 23 passes for 190 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. He also chipped in 10 rushes for 82 yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Hurts' final line through the air wasn't all that impressive and was nowhere near matching his output from Week 1. However, he did narrowly miss out on a much bigger day. It appeared that Hurts had connected with Jalen Reagor for a 36-yard touchdown during the team's third offensive possession, though the call was eventually overturned. He also connected with Quez Watkins for a 91-yard gain, but the drive ultimately stalled at the goal line. Even given those missed opportunities, Hurts provided a solid floor as a rusher, and he now has 142 yards on the ground through two games.
Sep 12, 2021
Spectacular in Week 1 win
Hurts completed 27 of 35 passes for 264 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Eagles' 32-6 win over the Falcons on Sunday. He also rushed seven times for 62 yards and recovered two fumbles, including one of his own.
ANALYSIS
Any lingering doubts about Hurts' ability to build on his relatively solid late-season starting audition in 2020 were definitively answered Sunday, with the second-year signal-caller looking every bit as good as his numbers imply. Hurts connected with seven different pass catchers and appeared increasingly comfortable as the game went on. The Oklahoma product got the Eagles' scoring started with a pretty 18-yard scoring lob to rookie DeVonta Smith, and he followed it up with a pair of touchdown tosses to Dallas Goedert and Jalen Reagor in the second and fourth quarters, respectively. With a stellar season opener under his belt, Hurts will head into a Week 2 home battle against the 49ers with no shortage of confidence.
Aug 28, 2021
Doesn't play in preseason finale
Hurts didn't see a snap in Friday's preseason tie against the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Heading into the contest, coach Nick Sirianni hadn't indicated whether his starting QB would see any action, but the decision ended up being made for him as storms delayed the start of the game by half an hour and left the field in somewhat poor condition, giving the Eagles no reason to risk an injury for Hurts. The 23-year-old will begin his first full season as the starter in Week 1 against Atlanta.
Aug 22, 2021
Status for preseason finale unknown
Coach Nick Sirianni said Sunday that he has yet to make a decision on Hurts' availability for Friday's preseason contest at the Jets, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
Three days after taking a seat preseason Week 2 due to a non-COVID-19 illness, Hurts was back on the field in his usual capacity, but what is less clear is whether he'll get any more in-game reps before Week 1. Fortunately for Sirianni, he'll have joint practices with the Jets this week before having to make a call on Hurts and other key Eagles.
Aug 22, 2021
Returns to practice in full
Hurts (illness) put in a full practice Sunday, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out preseason Week 2 with a non-COVID-19 illness, Hurts spent two days away from the team. Upon his return Sunday, he took part in stretches, tossed a few passes and progressed to team drills, taking part in every stage of the session. With his illness behind him, Hurts now will wait and see if coach Nick Sirianni will turn to the starters in Friday's exhibition at the Jets.
Aug 22, 2021
On practice field Sunday
Hurts (illness) returned to practice Sunday, Josh Tolentino of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was a late scratch from Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots as he arrived at MetLife Stadium feeling ill and eventually went to the hospital. He was diagnosed with a non-COVID-19 illness and told to stay away from the Eagles for two days. After exactly that much time away, Hurts was in pads for the stretching portion of Sunday's session, but it's unclear how many reps he'll be able to log.
Aug 19, 2021
Severity of illness disclosed
Hurts (illness) has been diagnosed with a stomach infection and will be away from the Eagles for at least the next two days, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
A late scratch from Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots, Hurts apparently didn't feel well when he got the stadium but still went through pregame warmups. After he was ruled out, he was deemed to not be dealing with COVID-19. Then, coach Nick Sirianni told Mike Garafolo of NFL Network following the contest that Hurts is "fine now. He's doing OK now." But Hurts' visit to the hospital unveiled that he shouldn't be around his teammates in the short term.
Aug 19, 2021
Absence explained by Sirianni
Coach Nick Sirianni said after Thursday's preseason loss to the Patriots that Hurts (illness) was held out due to pain in his stomach, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Sirianni, Hurts didn't feel well when he arrived at Lincoln Financial Field and attempted to go through pregame warmups, but he couldn't get past it and was scratched shortly before the contest. Hurts was evaluated at the hospital, and afterward Sirianni told Mike Garafolo of NFL Network that the QB is "fine now. He's doing OK now." Hurts missed out on a chance to get in some reps with college teammate and 2021 first-round receiver DeVonta Smith, who made his pro debut Thursday, but the team has one more exhibition Friday, Aug. 27 at the Jets to get that connection going.
Aug 19, 2021
Illness not COVID-related
Hurts doesn't have an illness related to COVID-19, which has sidelined him from Thursday's preseason game versus the Patriots, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was on the field for pregame warmups but was a late scratch ahead of kickoff, giving veteran Joe Flacco a chance to work with Eagles starting skill-position players. It's unclear if coach Nick Sirianni will allow any of those players, including Hurts, participate in Philly's final exhibition Friday, Aug. 27 at the Jets, which may not allow the second-year QB and rookie first-round WR DeVonta Smith to work in a game together before Week 1.
Aug 19, 2021
Out with illness
Hurts is sitting out Thursday's preseason game against the Patriots due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles were anticipating the first in-game connection between Hurts and rookie first-round receiver DeVonta Smith, who missed the team's first exhibition with an MCL sprain. But an illness has kept Hurts away from the field Thursday, delaying the reunion of college teammates. This may have been Hurts' last chance to play in the preseason, but Philly does have one more contest on the slate next Friday, Aug. 27 at the Jets.
Aug 12, 2021
Looks for TEs in preseason opener
Hurts completed three of seven passes for 54 yards and rushed once for four yards in two drives of work in Thursday's 24-16 preseason loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
All three of Hurts' completions went to tight ends, as we got a preview of an Eagles offense that's likely to feature plenty of looks for both Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz. The mobile quarterback didn't use his legs much here, but Hurts will likely utilize his rushing ability more once the games start to count. Backup Joe Flacco was significantly more effective against Pittsburgh's backups, producing a touchdown and two field goals on four drives, but Hurts remains locked in as Philadelphia's starting quarterback and should see more playing time against the Patriots in Week 2 of preseason.
Aug 10, 2021
Likely to suit up Thursday
Coach Nick Sirianni indicated Hurts and the Eagles' starting offense will play in Thursday's preseason contest against the Steelers, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With an improved supporting cast around him, Hurts also is learning a new system, so taking a test drive with the first-teamers in Philly's exhibition opener is no surprise. But Sirianni wouldn't divulge exactly how long he'll allow the starters to remain on the field. In any case, Hurts will be without 2021 10th overall pick and college teammate DeVonta Smith for most of the preseason slate as he recovers from an MCL sprain, leaving Jalen Reagor, Greg Ward and Travis Fulgham as the primary wide receivers for the time being.

Improving at camp
Hurts was sharp at Monday's practice, enjoying his best day of training camp so far, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
ANALYSIS
Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia agrees it was Hurts' best practice this summer, with highlights including perfect throws on a go route to Quez Watkins and a deep out to WR Travis Fulgham. The second-year QB completed nine of his first 10 passes in the team period of practice, but on a less positive note, he did lose top receiver DeVonta Smith to a knee sprain later in the session. Shorr-Parks notes that Hurts has steadily improved throughout camp, building up to Tuesday when the Eagles put on pads for the first time under new coach Nick Sirianni.

Gets Heisman-winning new target
Hurts was reunited with former Alabama teammate DeVonta Smith after the Eagles selected the wide receiver with the 10th-overall pick of the 2021 NFL draft, Tim McManus of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Although Hurts hasn't officially been named the Eagles' starting quarterback, selecting a receiver rather than another signal-caller seemingly cements him in the role even further. It also gives the 22-year-old another first-round weapon to throw to after Philadelphia took Jalen Reagor out of TCU last year. It's certainly a major upgrade for a receiving corps that compiled the third-fewest receiving yards last season, with just 2,082.

Yet to be named starter
Hurts will have to earn the starting quarterback job in the preseason, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Nick Sirianni refused to say whether Hurts would enter the season as the Eagles' starter under center, but the rookie head coach also refused to do that for any position on the team, citing the need for competition. Considering the 2020 second-round pick's main competition in Philadelphia is 36-year-old Joe Flacco after the team opted to trade both Carson Wentz and their sixth-overall pick in the upcoming draft, this is probably best termed "coach speak" by Sirianni in an attempt to motivate his players. Barring catastrophe, Hurts will be the Eagles' starter in 2021.

No job battle ahead?
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie wants to make Hurts' success the priority in 2021, rather than emphasizing competition at quarterback, according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News has a different take, hinting that the Eagles still aren't sure about their second-year QB. While Hurts sits atop the depth chart with Carson Wentz (Colts) out of the picture, Bowen and other Philadelphia beat writers have suggested the Eagles could pick a QB on Day 1 or 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft. This latest report from Mortensen doesn't seem concrete, but it does at least give us a hint about Lurie's thinking with the No. 6 overall pick.

Left atop depth chart
Hurts is the Eagles' top QB after they traded Carson Wentz to Indianapolis, though the team could still draft another signal-caller, according to Les Bowen of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
ANALYSIS
Already owners of the sixth overall pick, the Eagles added a 2021 third-rounder and a conditional 2022 second-round pick in the Wentz trade. What they do next depends on their confidence in Hurts, who had eight total touchdowns -- but also three INTs and six fumbles -- over the final four weeks of 2020. The 22-year-old is a clear favorite for the Week 1 start at this point, but the Eagles still have time to add competition, or at least a high-end backup.

Benched late in losing effort
Hurts completed just seven of his 20 passing attempts for 72 yards, no touchdowns and an interception while adding 34 yards and two rushing touchdowns on eight carries before being benched in favor of Nate Sudfeld in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Washington Football Team.
ANALYSIS
Hurts will finish his abbreviated time as a rookie starter with a 52 completion percentage, 1,061 passing yards, six touchdowns and five interceptions to go along with 354 rushing yards and three more scores on 63 carries over 15 games (three starts). Controversy has swirled around the 2020 second-round pick from the time he replaced Carson Wentz to his benching Sunday in a game where Washington clinched the sorry NFC East division with a 7-9 record. Fans of the New York Giants may be upset with the late change under center, but Hurts certainly performed poorly enough to warrant the benching. On the plus side, the mature first-year player provided a spark for the Eagles, and his ability as a runner kept opposing defenses on their heels while also providing valuable fantasy production. On the flip side, Hurts clearly has a long way to go in terms of his ability as a pocket passer, which was one of the knocks on him heading into last year's draft. The 22-year-old struggled when having to go past his initial re

Set to start season finale
Coach Doug Pederson said Monday that Hurts will start in the Week 17 game against Washington, Daniel Gallen of The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles were eliminated from playoff contention with Sunday's 37-17 loss to the Cowboys. Hurts will close out the season under center for the Eagles. Through three games as a starter, Hurts has completed 62 of 113 passes (54.9 percent) for 847 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions, and he's added 238 yards and a score on the ground. His accuracy could improve, but Hurts has still recorded a respectable 7.7 yards per attempt this season, on par with Drew Brees and Russell Wilson.
Dec 27, 2020
Tops 400 total yards in loss
Hurts completed 21 of 39 passes for 342 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions and added 69 rushing yards on nine carries in Sunday's 37-17 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
The rookie set a new career high in passing yards in his third NFL start, topping last week's 338, while once again posting strong numbers on the ground, but he also committed multiple turnovers for the first time as the Eagles were eliminated from playoff contention. Hurts will at least get a chance to play spoiler in Week 17 as Philadelphia hosts a Washington club that needs to win to lock up an NFC East title.
Dec 21, 2020
Officially named starter again
Coach Doug Pederson said Monday that Hurts will start at Dallas in Week 16, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
ANALYSIS
The announcement doesn't come as any sort of surprise, given how spectacularly the rookie signal-caller has resurrected Philadelphia's offense in back-to-back starts. Hurts is coming fresh off a close loss to the Cardinals in which he went toe to toe with Kyler Murray, accounting for four total TDs while passing for 338 yards and rushing for another 63 yards. Given the playmaking abilities Hurts has displayed, both through the air and on the ground, he projects as a high-end fantasy option against the Cowboys' exploitable defense on Sunday.
Dec 20, 2020
Accounts for four TDs in defeat
Hurts completed 24 of 44 pass attempts for 338 yards and three touchdowns Sunday against the Cardinals. He also carried 11 times for 63 yards and a touchdown in the 33-26 loss.
ANALYSIS
Hurts completed just 55 percent of his passes, but seven passes of more than 20 yards helped him pile up an impressive yardage total. He connected with Quez Watkins and Greg Ward (twice) for touchdowns in a big second quarter and later scored his first career rushing touchdown. On that note, Hurts made several plays with his legs and has now generated 169 rushing yards on 29 attempts over his first two starts. Despite his inaccuracy and three fumbles (none lost) on the day, Hurts enjoyed an excellent performance and will surely keep the job heading into next Sunday's matchup with the Cowboys.
Dec 14, 2020
Drawing another start
Coach Doug Pederson confirmed Monday that Hurts will start Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts was dynamic in Sunday's 24-21 upset win over the Saints, running for 106 yards while also avoiding mistakes through the air, with 67 passing yards and a touchdown. Considering the struggles Philadelphia's offense has endured with Carson Wentz under center this season, and how effective Hurts' skillset looked in his first NFL start, it doesn't come as any sort of surprise to see Pederson commit to the rookie for at least another week. As he's already showcased, Hurts' elite rushing abilities make him an intriguing option in most fantasy formats.
Dec 13, 2020
Runs wild in win over Saints
Hurts completed 17 of 30 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown and carried the ball 18 times for 106 yards in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Saints.
ANALYSIS
The New Orleans defense hadn't allowed a 100-yard rusher in 55 straight games, but both Hurts and Miles Sanders (115 yards and two TDs on 14 carries) reached that mark in the upset win. Hurts didn't exactly dazzle as a passer, but considering the quality of the opposition and the final result, it was a very successful first NFL start for the rookie. Eagles coach Doug Pederson hasn't yet committed to Hurts as his starter beyond this game, but it would be a shock if he weren't under center in a potential Week 15 track meet against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals.
Dec 8, 2020
Taking over as starter
Head coach Doug Pederson plans to name Hurts the Eagles' new starting quarterback ahead of Sunday's game against the Saints, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Philadelphia will pull the plug on incumbent Carson Wentz after he again presided over an unproductive offense in last week's 30-16 loss to Green Bay, which dropped the Eagles to 3-8-1 on the season. After Wentz was removed in the second half, Hurts at least provided some semblance of a spark, completing five of 12 attempts for 109 yards, a touchdown and an interception to go with 29 yards on five carries. While questions about Hurts' accuracy and arm strength remain, the elite rushing ability he offers from the quarterback spot at least makes him worthy of a speculative pickup in most leagues.

Starter for Week 14 undetermined
Coach Doug Pederson said Monday that he hasn't yet decided whether Hurts or Carson Wentz will start Sunday's upcoming game against the Saints, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
ANALYSIS
Hurts replaced Wentz in the third quarter of Sunday's 30-16 loss to Green Bay, and he managed the first passing TD of his young career while commanding the Eagles' final four drives. Pederson said Hurts provided "the spark that got us back in the football game," per Kristen Rodgers of FOX 29 Philadelphia, a likely allusion to the fact that he accounted for the Eagles' only offensive score of the day. Peterson said he'd make a decision at quarterback Wednesday, per Bowen, though it could also make sense to withhold that information and force the Saints' defense to prepare for both Wentz and Hurts.
Dec 6, 2020
Throws first career TD in loss
Hurts replaced Carson Wentz at quarterback early in the third quarter of Sunday's 30-16 loss to the Packers, completing five of 12 passes for 109 yards and a touchdown with one interception. He also gained 29 rushing yards on five carries.
ANALYSIS
The Eagles produced only a field goal in the first two quarters, and after Wentz led them to another three-and-out to begin the second half, Hurts got the call. While he wasn't particularly efficient in the first extended action of his NFL career, he did toss a 32-yard TD to Greg Ward midway through the fourth quarter for Philly's only offensive touchdown of the day. It's not clear yet who Doug Pederson will name as his starting QB for Week 14, but whoever is under center will face a very tough test against the Saints.

Expected to see added snaps Monday
While Carson Wentz is slated to start Monday night's game against the Seahawks, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports that Hurts is expected to see increased playing time at QB in the contest.
ANALYSIS
Rapoport adds that "unlike previous snaps, Wentz won't be on the field" when Hurts is out there. Meanwhile, ESPN's Tim McManus notes that Hurts has been seeing increased first-team reps at practice of late. Per Rapoport, that's expected to result in Hurts seeing his "most significant snaps yet," likely "two or three plays at a time," rather than entire series. That anticipated approach could of course be altered based on the flow of Monday's game, but at this stage it looks like the team plans to give Hurts added opportunities in Week 12 to provide the offense with a needed spark.

Will keep seeing designed plays
Coach Doug Pederson said Monday that getting Hurts involved on designed plays is "something we'll continue to explore" each week, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Pederson also suggested that Hurts could handle packages out of the backfield if Miles Sanders (knee) is forced to miss any time. The rookie signal-caller provided Philadelphia's offense with a few much-needed sparks during Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Ravens, though his insertion into the lineup was only occasional. On three touches Sunday, Hurts totaled 26 yards, and he also served as an effective decoy during a 74-yard run by Sanders which resulted in a touchdown by J.J. Arcega-Whiteside.

Deemed active Week 2
Hurts is listed as active Sunday against the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Just one game removed from opening his pro career as a healthy scratch, Hurts will serve as the No. 2 quarterback to Carson Wentz, Chris McPherson of the Eagles' official site reports. The 2020 second-round pick will swap in for Nate Sudfeld, but it remains to be seen if Hurts will make any sort of impact or merely has surpassed Sudfeld for the backup gig.
Sep 13, 2020
Healthy scratch Sunday
Hurts (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Sunday at Washington.
ANALYSIS
A healthy scratch to begin his NFL career, the 2020 second-round pick will don street clothes while Nate Sudfeld serves as Carson Wentz's backup. Without an injury to the two quarterbacks in front of him, Hurts may be a regular inactive for the Eagles for the foreseeable future.
Aug 17, 2020
Starts off as No. 3 QB
Coach Doug Pederson said Carson Wentz and Nate Sudfeld -- rather than Hurts -- will get most of the QB reps during training camp, Daniel Gallen of The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports.
ANALYSIS
It isn't the first time Pederson has hinted at Hurts beginning his career as the No. 3 quarterback in Philadelphia. That said, the rookie took 16 snaps in a sharp performance at Monday's practice, while Sudfeld got 17 snaps and didn't play nearly as well, according to Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94 WIP. Even if Sudfeld enters Week 1 in the backup job, Hurts could oust him before the end of the season.
May 19, 2020
Likely to open career as No. 3 QB
Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Tuesday that while Hurts will have the opportunity to compete the No. 2 quarterback job, the rookie is likely to begin the season behind both Carson Wentz and Nate Sudfeld on the depth chart, Matt Mullin of PhillyVoice.com reports. "Football teams are going to have to rely on their veteran players, and Nate is one of those guys for us. I have a ton of confidence in Nate to become the backup quarterback," Pederson said. "Nothing is ever handed to anybody, and we always try to
ANALYSIS
Though the Eagles used the 53rd overall pick in April's draft on Hurts, that investment alone won't give the rookie the leg up in the job battle with Sudfeld, who is entering his fourth year in the Eagles' system. The shortened offseason in light of the coronavirus pandemic will only make it more difficult for Hurts to gain familiarity with Pederson's offensive scheme, so his first year in the NFL could be more of a developmental one, at least from the perspective of a traditional quarterback. Hurts' skills as a runner may still allow him to see occasional snaps as a gadget player or Wildcat quarterback, but in the event of a Wentz injury, Sudfeld looks to be the next man up under center.
