Suspended one game
Chase has received a one-game suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct during Cincinnati's loss to the Steelers in Week 11, ruling him out for Sunday's matchup against the Patriots, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Chase is appealing the suspension, per Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer.
ANALYSIS
Despite Chase opting to appeal, it appears as though the superstar won't play Week 12 versus New England, leaving Tee Higgins in position as the clear No. 1 receiving option for quarterback Joe Flacco. Wideout Andrei Iosivas and tight end Noah Fant figure to be other beneficiaries of increased opportunities in the receiving came with Chase -- who has drawn double-digit targets in five of his last six appearances -- unavailable. Ben Baby of ESPN reports that there is notable precedent for Chase's suspension being upheld, as Jalen Carter was ejected from Philadelphia's game against the Cowboys in Week 1 after the first play from scrimmage for similar conduct, which the NFL viewed as a one-game suspension.

Just 30 yards in Steelers rematch
Chase caught three of 10 targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 34-12 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
After recording a franchise-record 16 catches for 161 yards and a touchdown in Week 7 against the Steelers, Chase was held to his second-fewest catches and third-fewest yards of the season in Sunday's rematch. Prior to this unexpected dip in production, Chase had at least six catches and 91 receiving yards in each of the previous five games. He'll likely face a heavy dose of top Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez in Week 12, but Chase's ceiling remains as high as it gets.
Nov 2, 2025
Eclipses 100-yard mark in loss
Chase brought in six of eight targets for 111 yards in the Bengals' 47-42 loss to the Bears on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Chase played a rare second fiddle to fellow wideout Tee Higgins, who recorded one more reception and target apiece while also outpacing Chase by 10 yards. Nevertheless, Chase still continued to display excellent chemistry with Joe Flacco, who has peppered him with an astounding 50 targets in the last three games alone. Chase has eclipsed the century mark on four occasions overall, and he's carrying a bloated 76-831-5 receiving line into a Week 11 road matchup against the Steelers on Sunday, Nov. 16 following a Week 10 bye.
Oct 26, 2025
Targeted 19 times in Week 8 loss
Chase caught 12 of 19 targets for 91 yards in Sunday's 39-38 loss to the Jets.
ANALYSIS
After setting a franchise record with 23 targets in the Week 7 win over Pittsburgh, Chase continued to see heavy volume from Joe Flacco, though a Jets secondary missing Sauce Gardner (concussion) did a surprisingly decent job of keeping Chase in check. Chase's fantasy managers won't be too disappointed with this outing, especially in PPR formats, though the Bengals will be kicking themselves for getting outscored 23-7 in the fourth quarter by a previously winless Jets team. Given how frequently Flacco looks his way, Chase has returned to the elite echelon of fantasy wide receivers ahead of a Week 9 home game versus the Bears.
Oct 16, 2025
Massive numbers in wild win
Chase secured 16 of 23 targets for 161 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 33-31 win over the Steelers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Chase's eye-popping reception and target totals were career-high figures, as the All-Pro receiver put together a night for the ages in only his second game working with Joe Flacco. The 2021 first-round pick also struck for his fifth touchdown catch of the season on an eight-yard grab with under five minutes remaining in the second half. Chase's otherworldly numbers aren't completely surprising considering the multiple memorable performances he's already put together in his career, but Thursday's effort was clearly on another level. Given his undeniable chemistry with Flacco, Chase will remain an elite option in all formats during a Week 8 home matchup against the Jets in Week 8 on Sunday, Oct. 26.
Oct 12, 2025
Comes through with Flacco
Chase recorded 10 receptions on 12 targets for 94 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-18 loss to the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Chase got a change in quarterback with Joe Flacco under center, and he earned his highest target total since Joe Burrow (toe) has been sidelined. The Packers did a good job limiting his production for most of the game, though Chase eventually managed to break through for long catches of 12, 18 and 19 yards in the second half, the final of which went for an acrobatic touchdown late in the fourth quarter. The performance gives some hope that Chase will remain a reliable fantasy contributor even in the absence of Burrow, as he has now found the end zone and topped 100 receiving yards in consecutive contests.
Oct 12, 2025
Active versus Green Bay
Chase (illness) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Chase approached the contest with a 'questionable' designation after he participated in a walk-through Friday before being sent home for the team's practice later that day and officially being deemed a 'DNP.' With his Week 6 availability confirmed, Chase will operate as a key passing target for veteran signal caller Joe Flacco, who has replaced Jake Browning as the Bengals' starting QB. In five games to date, Chase has put together a fantasy-friendly 32/374/3 receiving line on 45 targets.
Oct 12, 2025
On track for Sunday
Chase (illness) is expected to play Sunday against the Packers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Ben Baby of ESPN, Chase -- who is officially listed as questionable -- participated in Friday morning's walk-through before being sent home for the team's practice and subsequently logging a 'DNP' on the Bengals' injury report. While the star pass catcher is trending toward facing Green Bay alongside fellow WRs Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas, a notion echoed by Adam Schefter of ESPN, fantasy managers will nonetheless want to verify Chase's status ahead of Cincinnati's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, a game in which veteran QB Joe Flacco will be making his starting debut for the Bengals.
Oct 11, 2025
In line to play Sunday
Chase (illness), who is officially questionable for Sunday's Week 6 game against Green Bay, is "trending toward playing," NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase was deemed questionable entering the weekend after missing Friday's practice due to an illness. The star wideout appears to be doing better, though Schultz notes that the Bengals will see how he feels Sunday morning before making a final decision on his status versus the Packers. Should Chase indeed be able to suit up, he'll be working with a new quarterback, as veteran Joe Flacco is slated to start behind center for Cincinnati after the team acquired him in a trade with Cleveland on Tuesday.
Oct 10, 2025
Questionable for Sunday
Coach Zac Taylor noted Friday that Chase (illness) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Baby, Chase didn't practice Friday due to his illness, but Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer previously reported that the wideout participated in the team's walk-through. In any case, Chase's status will now need to be monitored ahead of Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff. Look for added context on that front to arrive late Saturday or early Sunday, once national reporters like ESPN's Adam Schefter and/or NFL Network's Ian Rapoport post their weekly injury/status updates.
Oct 5, 2025
Breaks out with Browning
Chase recorded six receptions on 10 targets for 110 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 37-24 loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Chase and the entire Bengals' offense got off to a slow start, as he had only four catches on eight targets for 31 yards at halftime. That changed quick in the final two quarters, as Chase took his two targets for 15 and 64-yard touchdowns. The latter was particularly impressive, as he beat Amik Robertson on a double move to get wide open behind the defense. Chase's weekly outlook is hurt by the subpar play of Jake Browning, though Chase is talented enough to overcome the poor offensive environment and showcased that ability in Sunday's loss.
Sep 29, 2025
Does little with five catches
Chase secured five of eight targets for 23 yards in the Bengals' 28-3 loss to the Broncos on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
Chase led the Bengals in receptions, but on a night when Jake Browning threw for only 125 yards, that slotting didn't come close to leading to any meaningful fantasy production. Chase has recorded 10 receptions in his first two full games with Browning as his quarterback, but he's averaging only 7.3 yards per reception in that span, with only one of those catches going for 20-plus yards. If Browning remains under center for a Week 5 home matchup against the Lions, Chase will be hard to trust against a talented Detroit defense irrespective of his upside.
Sep 21, 2025
Serviceable numbers in rout
Chase secured five of six targets for 50 yards, rushed once for nine yards and lost a fumble in the Bengals' 48-10 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Chase was part of the collateral damage of a miserable day for the Bengals on both sides of the ball. The aggressive Vikings defense capitalized on Jake Browning's presence under center to collect two interceptions, three sacks and three fumble recoveries, but Chase still managed to tie for the team lead in receptions and also set the pace in receiving yards and targets. The star wideout's production will naturally be hard to trust on a week-to-week basis for as long as Joe Burrow (IR-toe) remains out, but Chase will undoubtedly remain heavily involved in an unenviable Week 4 road matchup against the Broncos on Monday night, Sept. 29.
Sep 14, 2025
Huge performance in win
Chase recorded 14 receptions on 16 targets for 165 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-27 win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Chase struggled in Week 1 against the Browns along with the rest of the Bengals' offense. However, he bounced back in a big way in Week 2, doubling up Tee Higgins in targets while accounting for over half of the team's yards through the air. His touchdown came from four yards away early in the first quarter, and he then tacked on receptions of 25, 16, 14 and 13 yards. Even more impressive was that the majority of Chase's production came with Jake Browning under center after Joe Burrow departed with an apparent toe injury. If Burrow is sidelined for an extended period, Chase's production would likely dip, but his talent and role will keep him locked in as a top option at wide receiver.
Sep 7, 2025
Quiet 2025 debut
Chase recorded two receptions on five targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 17-16 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals managed a surprisingly low 141 net yards, limiting the production of all their skill-position players. Chase tied for the team lead with five targets -- Joe Burrow attempted only 23 passes -- and also was responsible for the team's longest play from scrimmage on a 20-yard catch midway through the second quarter. While it was a disappointing start to the season, Chase and the entire Cincinnati offense should produce better in Week 2 against Jacksonville.
Aug 18, 2025
Plays one drive
Chase caught his lone target for 11 yards in Monday's preseason win at Washington.
ANALYSIS
Chase played just one drive Monday night, after catching four passes for 71 yards and a TD on two series in Cincinnati's preseason opener. He'll likely be held out of the final preseason game, ahead of a Week 1 contest at Cleveland against a defense led by DE Myles Garrett and CB Denzel Ward. Chase caught 11 of 14 targets for 152 yards and two TDs in his two matchups with Cleveland last season, after having just one big game against the Browns through his first three years in the league.
Aug 7, 2025
Puts up 71 yards on two drives
Chase caught each of his four targets for 71 yards in Thursday's preseason game at Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Chase caught three passes on the opening drive, with a fourth (in the end zone) wiped out by a blocking penalty. He made it back to the end zone on the following drive, taking a short pass the distance from 36 yards out. The Bengals then pulled most of their starters, including Chase and QB Burrow. They may give their key players more run in the second week of the preseason, Aug. 18 against Washington, although there's not much reason to risk Chase's health when he already appears in mid-season form.
Aug 5, 2025
Likely playing Thursday night
Chase and other starters are scheduled for a couple of drives in Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles, Jay Morrison of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bengals coach Zac Taylor said he's going to play his starters more than ever before in the preseason. Chase may be an exception who only takes a few snaps, but even the possibility of playing a couple of drives puts him on the board as an option for preseason DFS contests. There's been no report of injury trouble this offseason, with Chase apparently staying active in practice (and healthy) since he signed a four-year, $161 million extension in March. He remains the popular No. 1 overall pick in fantasy drafts this summer.
Mar 16, 2025
Signs record-setting deal with CIN
Chase and the Bengals agreed on a four-year, $161 million contract extension with $112 million guaranteed Sunday, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase officially has gotten his massive deal, which makes him the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history. In total, he's now under contract for the next five years, in line to earn $182.816 million, per Schultz. The wide receiver has been nothing short of elite during his four-year career with the Bengals, most recently winning the NFL's "triple crown" in 2024, catching 127 of 175 targets for 1,708 yards and 17 touchdowns over 17 regular-season games. Additionally, teammate Tee Higgins and Cincinnati agreed on a four-year, $115 million deal Sunday, keeping both of Joe Burrow's top pass catchers under contract for the foreseeable future.
Jan 4, 2025
Paces pass catchers in win
Chase secured 10 of 14 targets for 96 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 19-17 win over the Steelers on Saturday night.
ANALYSIS
Chase led the Bengals in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the night, although he worked for everything he got while averaging just 9.6 yards per grab. The star wideout also recorded his career-high 17th touchdown reception of the season on a 12-yard grab that capped the opening possession of the game, and his involvement also was boosted by the early exit of Tee Higgins (ankle). The Bengals still need a Broncos loss and Dolphins loss or tie Sunday in order to qualify for the postseason, but irrespective of whether or not Cincinnati earns a playoff spot, Chase made an airtight case for his long sought-after extension by posting a career-best 127-1,708-17 line over 17 regular-season games.
Dec 28, 2024
Commands 15 targets in OT win
Chase recorded nine receptions on 15 targets for 102 yards in Saturday's 30-24 overtime win against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals' passing offense remained heavily concentrated between Chase and Tee Higgins, while Mike Gesicki also had significant contributions. Chase led the way with 15 targets, with his most explosive play being 38 yards to set up the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter. He was otherwise held in check from a yardage perspective, though he did manage his second 100-yard performance in five games since the Bengals' bye.
Dec 22, 2024
Team-high receiving yardage in win
Chase secured six of eight targets for 97 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for seven yards in the Bengals' 24-6 win over the Browns on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Chase set the pace in receiving yards for the Bengals on the afternoon while checking in second in both receptions and targets. The ultra-talented receiver has exceeded 85 receiving yards in four consecutive games, while his 32-yard scoring grab in the fourth quarter pushed his touchdown total to nine over his last six games. Chase now has a career-best 1,510 receiving yards heading into a Week 17 home matchup against the Broncos on Saturday afternoon.
Dec 15, 2024
Nine catches in Week 15 win
Chase caught nine of 11 targets for 94 yards in Sunday's 37-27 win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Chase didn't account for any of Joe Burrow's three first-half touchdown passes, but the star wideout posted a team-high 79 receiving yards heading into the locker room. The Bengals nursed a comfortable lead throughout the second half and didn't turn to the air much, though Chase still finished with team-leading totals in targets, catches and receiving yards. Chase will look to add to his impressive season totals of 102 catches for 1,413 yards and 15 touchdowns in Week 16 against the Browns.
Dec 9, 2024
Racks up 191 yards plus two scores
Chase corralled 14 of his 18 targets for 177 yards and two touchdowns while taking his only rushing attempt for 14 yards in Monday's 27-20 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Chase shined under the bright lights in Arlington, TX with a signature performance that helped lift his team back into the playoff race. The LSU product teamed up with his fellow alumni Joe Burrow to connect for two scores and 177 yards on season-high 14 connections, including the game-winning touchdown to put away the Cowboys on Monday. Chase carries a ridiculous 93-1,319-15 receiving line into Sunday's road tilt against Tennessee.
Dec 6, 2024
Logs full practice Friday
Chase (ankle) practiced fully Friday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase was limited in the first session of Week 14 prep Thursday due to an ankle injury, but he proceeded to tell Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer that he returned to full participation Friday, which now has been confirmed. Chase is in the middle of putting together the most productive season of his four-year career, sitting at 79 catches (on 109 targets) for 1,142 yards and 13 touchdowns through 12 contests.
Dec 5, 2024
Limited by ankle issue
Chase was limited at practice Thursday by an ankle injury.
ANALYSIS
Chase logged a 97 percent snap share in the Bengals' Week 13 loss to the Steelers, a game in which he recorded six catches on nine targets for 86 yards and a touchdown. It's unclear if the wideout's ankle issue stems from that contest or from something that occurred during Thursday's practice. Either way, Chase's status is now worth monitoring in advance of Monday night's game against the Cowboys.
Dec 1, 2024
Scores again
Chase recorded six receptions on nine targets for 86 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-38 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Chase was held quiet for much of the game, but two big plays changed the outlook of his performance. The first came early in the second quarter when he found a soft spot in the middle of the end zone to record a four-yard score. Chase next made a significant impact on a 49-yard catch late in the fourth quarter to set up another score. He still leads the NFL in both receiving yards and touchdowns while also finding the end zone in three straight contests.
Nov 18, 2024
Records fourth 1,000-yard season
Chase reeled in seven of his 13 targets for 75 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 34-27 loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Chase has his fantasy managers off to a great start for No-Loss November with staggering totals of 25 receptions, 482 yards and five touchdowns in just three games this calendar month. The 24-year-old also clinched his fourth 1,000-yard season in as many years as a pro Sunday. The Bengals welcomed back Tee Higgins (9-148-1) in this contest, and both star wideouts thrived playing off of each other with 13 targets apiece. With Cincinnati on a bye in Week 12, Chase will continue to add to his magnificent 73-1,056-12 season line when the team resumes play against the Steelers on Dec. 1.
Nov 8, 2024
Elite performance in loss
Chase secured 11 of 17 targets for 264 yards and three touchdowns in the Bengals' 35-34 loss to the Ravens on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Chase fell just short of eclipsing his own 266-yard franchise record set back during his 2021 rookie campaign during a season-best performance. The star wideout had already burned the Ravens for a 10-193-2 tally in Week 5, but Chase was on a different level Thursday while scoring from 67, 70 and five yards out in the second half. Chase's final scoring grab came with just 38 seconds remaining and left Cincinnati just a point shy of tying the game at 35-35, but head coach Zac Taylor opted to go for a two-point conversion the Bengals failed to convert. Chase now has a whopping 32 receptions for 416 yards and five touchdowns over his last four games heading into a Week 11 road matchup against the Chargers on Sunday night, Nov. 17.
Nov 3, 2024
Held in check by Raiders
Chase secured seven of 11 targets for 43 yards in the Bengals' 41-24 win over the Raiders on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Chase led the Bengals in receptions and targets but could do little with his opportunities, finishing with his second-lowest yardage total of the season. Chase has also uncharacteristically finished with 55 receiving yards or fewer in three straight contests, but he also has back-to-back 11-target tallies heading into a Week 10 road matchup Thursday night against a Ravens team he put up a season-best 10-193-2 line against in Week 5.
Oct 27, 2024
Busy day in loss
Chase secured nine of 11 targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 37-17 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
With Tee Higgins (quadriceps) sidelined, Chase was unsurprisingly heavily involved and did record a touchdown for the second straight game on a two-yard grab with just under five minutes remaining in the first quarter. He also led the Bengals in receptions and targets with figures that qualified as his second highest of the season while also checking in as the runner-up in receiving yards to tight end Mike Gesicki. Chase next draws a tantalizing matchup against a vulnerable Raiders defense in a Week 9 home matchup, one that Higgins could potentially miss as well.
Oct 20, 2024
Saves day with touchdown
Chase recorded five receptions on six targets for 55 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 21-14 win over the Browns. He added one rush for 11 yards.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals had little pressure to perform offensively to walk away with a win against the Browns, limiting the overall passing volume. However, Chase continued to lag behind Tee Higgins in target volume, likely due to the attention he's received from opposing defenses. Chase did manage a few splash plays of 18 and 17 yards -- the former of which went for a touchdown. He now has fewer than 75 receiving yards in four of seven games on the campaign, though his six touchdowns have made him an elite fantasy option.
Oct 13, 2024
Modest showing against Giants
Chase recorded five receptions on six targets for 72 yards in Sunday's 17-7 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Chase entered the game on an impressive three-game tear, during which he combined to record 19 receptions for 396 yards and five scores. He found much less room to work against the Giants, who consistently got pressure on Joe Burrow, which led to a lackluster performance for the Bengals' entire passing offense. Despite the relative disappointment, Chase still managed an impressive 37-yard catch late in the third quarter to help his stat line.
Oct 6, 2024
Another two-TD effort Sunday
Chase caught 10 of 12 targets for 193 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 41-38 overtime loss to the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
It was Chase's best single-game performance since he dropped a 15-192-3 line on the Cardinals in Week 5 of last season. The fourth-year wideout has found his groove after a sluggish start to the current campaign, catching 19 of 25 targets for 396 yards and five TDs over the last three games, and Chase isn't likely to slow down any time soon with the Bengals' defense playing so poorly and forcing Joe Burrow to air it out. Chase will look to get into the end zone again in Week 6 against the Giants.
Sep 29, 2024
Long TD makes day
Chase recorded three catches on six targets for 85 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Chase was surprisingly relatively uninvolved in the offense, as Tee Higgins drew 10 targets and also led the team in receptions. However, Chase had the most impactful performance of the day thanks primarily to a 63-yard touchdown, during which he bounced off at least three potential tacklers over the middle of the field before sprinting down the sideline for the long score. After a modest start to the season, Chase has nine receptions for 203 yards and three touchdowns combined across the last two contests.
Sep 26, 2024
Logs full practice Thursday
Chase (shoulder) practiced fully Thursday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
On Wednesday's estimated practice report, Chase was listed as limited due to a shoulder issue, but after logging a full session a day later to the relief of his fantasy managers, the star wideout is on track to face the Panthers on Sunday. Through three games to start the season, Chase leads the Bengals with 16 catches (on 18 targets) for 215 yards and two TDs.
Sep 25, 2024
Limited on practice estimate
Chase (shoulder) was listed as limited on Wednesday's practice estimate, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals are holding a walk-through Wednesday, but if they had actually practiced, Chase would have been limited by a shoulder issue. Added context regarding the wideout's Week 4 status will arrive no later than Thursday, but so far there's nothing to suggests that Chase is in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Sep 23, 2024
Breaks out in big way Monday
Chase hauled in six of seven targets for 118 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns in Monday's 38-33 loss to Washington.
ANALYSIS
Chase teamed up with fellow LSU Tiger Joe Burrow to put up monster fantasy lines in a narrow defeat on Monday Night Football. The superstar wideout had been stymied in his first two appearances of 2024, the sum of which (97 yards and no touchdowns) fails to match Monday's output alone. With a signature game in the books, Chase's offseason contract drama seems like a distant memory as the receiver looks to build off this performance in Week 4 against the Panthers.
Sep 15, 2024
Receives all of defense's attention
Chase was limited to four receptions (five targets) for 35 yards in Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Chase was constantly bracketed by safety help all game long with Tee Higgins (hamstring) remaining sidelined due to injury. The Bengals' offense sputtered against a challenging defensive unit Sunday, but Chase's fantasy managers should not get any crazy ideas when setting lineups for the upcoming slate of games in Week 3. There is a good chance that the superstar wideout finally breaks out against a younger Washington defensive unit on Monday Night Football.
Sep 8, 2024
Six catches in season-opening loss
Chase secured all six targets for 62 yards in the Bengals' 16-10 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The standout receiver couldn't parlay what was once an unlikely Week 1 appearance into a truly fruitful fantasy day, although Chase did set the pace for the Bengals in receptions and receiving yards while also tying for the team lead in targets. Chase's outlook heading into the contest was decidedly murky, considering he'd been dealing with an illness, had practiced only a handful of times since the start of training camp and was still without the contract extension that had caused his summer-long hold-in. Nevertheless, Chase did help pick up some of the slack for the absent Tee Higgins (hamstring), although he was capped by the play of a relatively ineffective Joe Burrow. The entire Bengals offense will have to fix whatever ailed it Sunday in a hurry, as an exceedingly tough Week 2 road matchup against the Chiefs awaits.
Sep 8, 2024
Listed as active Sunday
Chase (illness) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Chase is not expected to reach agreement with the Bengals on a contract extension prior to Sunday's season opener, but that didn't deter Cincinnati from making the wideout active for Week 1. After being listed as a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday for non-injury related/rest reasons, Chase practiced fully Friday and labeled himself as a "game-time decision" for Sunday. The wideout was subsequently listed with an illness on Saturday's updated injury report, but with his active status for Sunday's contest ultimately confirmed, Chase is evidently feeling well enough to be in a position to contribute. However, Chase's workload could be modified, as the Bengals may be inclined to ease him back into the mix. Meanwhile, fellow receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) is inactive, which creates added opportunities versus New England for some combination of Andrei Iosivas, Trenton Irwin, Charlie Jones and Jermaine Burton.
Sep 8, 2024
Feeling better, could play Sunday
Chase (rest/illness) remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, but he showed improvement late Saturday and could be available for the Bengals' season opener, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Chase is still seeking a long-term contract extension with the Bengals, he ended his "hold-in" at practice and took part in workouts as a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday before upgrading to full activity Friday. He termed himself as a game-time decision following Friday's practice before he woke up ill Saturday, adding another potential complication to his availability leading into the season opener. However, with Chase's condition taking a turn for the better later Saturday, the wideout may be trending toward playing Sunday. Fowler notes that the Bengals have included Chase in their game plan this week, though the team could make some adjustments in the event he sits out. Further clarity on Chase's status won't arrive until Cincinnati releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, and even if he suits up, he could be subject to a more limited snap count than he typically handles after he missed all of training camp and the preseason.
Sep 7, 2024
Illness added to injury report
Chase, who still remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, added an illness to his injury status, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase has deployed a "hold-in" strategy off an on throughout training camp due to a contract dispute with the Bengals and suggested in comments Friday he would "decide" whether he can play Sunday. In the same press scrum, Chase also opined there was a remote possibility the two sides could come to an agreement on a massive extension Friday, but with the self-imposed deadline passing without any resolution, it's unclear if the latest injury update is related to the uneasy contract situation or something merely coincidental. Tee Higgins (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Week 1, so if Chase is unable to play the unheralded duo of Andrei Iosivas and Jermaine Burton will be tasked with a significant workload.
Sep 6, 2024
Questionable after full practice
Chase (non-injury related/rest) practiced fully Friday but remains listed as questionable for Sunday's contest versus the Patriots, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
The ongoing situation between Chase and the Bengals could be closing in on a resolution, as he told Ben Baby of ESPN.com on Friday that there's "a small chance" the two sides may agree to a contract extension, "but who knows what'll happen then, these next couple hours?" Chase also called himself a "game-time decision" for Sunday's season opener and that "it's my decision" whether or not he'll be available. The Bengals are listing fellow wide receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) as doubtful to play this weekend, so if both players are inactive, WRs Andrei Iosivas and Jermaine Burton, RBs Zack Moss and Chase Brown and TEs Mike Gesicki, Drew Sample and Tanner Hudson will be the top skill-position talent available to QB Joe Burrow.
Sep 6, 2024
Questionable for Sunday
Chase (non-injury related/rest) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Chase missed a good portion of training camp and the entire preseason while in the midst of a contract hold-in, and his on-field work was limited Wednesday and Thursday as he awaits a resolution. He intimated Friday that he and the Bengals may be close to a new deal, but he also called himself a "game-time decision" for Sunday's contest, per Kevin Patra of NFL.com. Fellow wide receiver Tee Higgins (hamstring) is doubtful to suit up this weekend, so Cincinnati may be without its top two options at the position, which would make Andrei Iosivas, rookie Jermaine Burton and others prominent targets for QB Joe Burrow.
Sep 6, 2024
Could be game-time call
Chase indicated Friday that a contract resolution may be in reach, while suggesting that he's a game-time decision for Sunday's season opener against the Patriots, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Look for added context to arrive as the day progresses, but Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer relays that Chase acknowledged that he'd probably be limited if he does play Sunday. For his part, when asked about the Week 1 status of both Chase and Tee Higgins (hamstring), coach Zac Taylor said "we'll see."
Sep 5, 2024
Another limited practice
Chase (not injury-related/rest) was listed as limited at practice Thursday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Back-to-back practice appearances, in any capacity, on the part of Chase -- who is seeking a new contract with the Bengals -- are no doubt a positive sign, but according to Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer, at this stage coach Zac Taylor won't confirm whether Chase is expected to play in Sunday's season opener against the Patriots. With that in mind, Conway notes that the Bengals and Chase are taking this "day-to-day" in the hopes of working something out before the end of the week.
Sep 4, 2024
Listed as limited participant
Chase was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday, with "rest" given as the reason, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The main takeaway is that he's healthy and back at practice, after missing nearly all of Cincinnati's practices over the past six weeks while his agent and the team tried to reach terms on a long-term contract. Bengals offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher said Wednesday that Chase has taken actions to ensure he'll be ready to play even if he hasn't practiced much, with Pitcher even noting that the Bengals are "not concerned" about the wideout being ready when called upon, per Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer. QB Joe Burrow made similar comments Wednesday, but the Bengals decided to limit Chase's practice participation anyway. It seems conditioning won't be a factor in his availability, so the decision on whether to play (or not) now lies in Chase's hands ahead of the season opener against New England this Sunday.
Sep 4, 2024
Practices Wednesday
Chase returned to practice Wednesday amid ongoing contract negotiations, Paul Dehner of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase had resumed practicing with teammates by the end of August before sitting out Cincinnati's most recent three sessions, so his presence Wednesday seems like a step in the right direction. It's unclear, though, whether Chase was limited at practice in any capacity. The Bengals are have two more official practices scheduled prior to Sunday's regular-season opener against the Patriots at home.
Sep 4, 2024
In uniform for practice
Chase was spotted in uniform ahead of Wednesday's practice, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
The extent of Chase's participation in practice won't be known until later Wednesday, when the Bengals release their first injury report of 2024. In any case, the wideout's initial presence prior to the session is a positive indicator. Cincinnati has three practices scheduled ahead of Sunday's season opener against the Patriots.
Sep 2, 2024
Not practicing Monday
Chase did not participate in Monday's practice, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, Chase was present for the beginning of the session, though not in uniform. The Bengals won't have to release an official practice/injury report before Wednesday, but with the team's season opener quickly approaching, the wideout's status will need to be monitored closely ahead of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff against the Patriots.
Aug 29, 2024
Thursday practice status unclear
Coach Zac Taylor said "we'll see" when asked Thursday about Chase's practice availability, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Taylor said things will "probably be very similar to yesterday," per Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer, referring to Chase observing Wednesday's practice in street clothes. The head coach also said Wednesday that he "spoke too quickly" when stating that he expected Chase to be available Week 1 versus New England. Counting the fifth-year option for 2025, the 2021 first-round pick has two years remaining on his rookie deal, but the lack of a long-term contract seems to have created a significant rift between Chase and the Bengals. Both sides have roughly a week and a half to mend that gap before taking on the Patriots at home on Sunday, Sept. 8.
Aug 28, 2024
Uncertain for Week 1
Coach Zac Taylor said Wednesday that he probably "spoke too quickly" a day earlier when he told reporter he expected Chase (contract dispute) to play Week 1 against New England, WLWT's Charlie Clifford reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase practiced Sunday for the first time this summer, but he's now back to observer status in street clothes as of Wednesday afternoon. Taylor used the term "day-to-day" when reporters asked him about the wideout after Wednesday's practice, noting that he'll "look forward to getting [Chase] back, hopefully at some point soon." Chase has two seasons remaining on his rookie contract, including a fifth-year option for 2025, and presumably expects a new deal that's comparable to the ones signed by Justin Jefferson and CeeDee Lamb this summer.
Aug 28, 2024
Not practicing Wednesday
Chase (contract dispute) isn't practicing Wednesday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase practiced Sunday for the first time this summer, with coach Zac Taylor then saying Tuesday that he expects the wide receiver to play Week 1 against New England. Chase is now present at Wednesday's practice but only as an observer in street clothes, adding the latest layer of intrigue 11 days before Cincinnati's season opener. Bengals owner Mike Brown said in July that the team would "bend over backwards" to sign Chase to an extension, but Brown also cautioned that it might take a while to work out a deal. The 24-year-old has two seasons remaining on his rookie contract, including a fifth-year option for $21.82 million in 2025.
Aug 27, 2024
Expected to suit up Week 1
Coach Zac Taylor said Tuesday that he expects Chase (contract dispute) to suit up for Cincinnati's regular-season opener against the Patriots on Sunday, Sept. 8, Ben Baby of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase had previously abstained from practicing at all in training camp amid ongoing contract negotiations with the Bengals, but the star wideout suited alongside teammates at practice Sunday for the first time. Aside from a weeklong absence mid-August, Chase had at least been present at practice on the sidelines, and he now has just under two weeks remaining to ramp up before suiting up against New England in Week 1. It's a relief for fantasy managers that Chase isn't at risk of missing any time, but it remains to be seen whether both sides will ultimately agree on an extension that puts all tensions in the rearview. CeeDee Lamb inked a four-year, $136 million deal with the Cowboys on Monday after holding out of camp, and Chase is doubtless vying for a similar top-of-the-market contract of his own.
Aug 25, 2024
Logs first practice Sunday
Chase (contract dispute) practiced Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Aside from some individual work and walkthroughs, Chase hadn't practiced at all during training camp prior to Sunday as he's tried to apply pressure on the organization to work out a contract extension. The star wideout had at least been in attendance during the early part of camp, but he was absent for a week in mid-August before returning (but still not practicing) this past Monday. Chase's return to practice Sunday doesn't necessarily mean that there's been any progress in contract talks, but it does give hope that the 24-year-old intends to suit up for Week 1 of the regular season. The Bengals will begin the campaign at home against the Patriots on Sept. 8, giving Chase two weeks to ramp up if he does indeed intend to play.
Aug 20, 2024
Returns to camp Monday
Chase (contract dispute) was present for the Bengals' practice session Monday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The extent of Chase's participation in Monday's session isn't known, and head coach Zac Taylor declined after practice to reveal whether the wideout's absence from the team last week was excused or unexcused, per Baby. Before he left the team last Tuesday, Chase had been "holding in" at Bengals practices, as he had been in attendance and taking part in drills while not mixing into team work as he awaits a contract extension. Though the Bengals rewarded kicker Evan McPherson with a three-year extension over the weekend, it's unclear if Chase will be able to come to terms on a new deal before Week 1, as team president Mike Brown previously said in July that any extension for the star receiver was unlikely to be completed until next offseason, according to Baby. Chase's desire for a new contract could continue to result in him missing practice time as well as Thursday's preseason finale versus the Colts, but at this point, the 24-year-old hasn't definitively said that he won't suit up Week 1 against the Patriots
Aug 13, 2024
Misses first practice of camp
Coach Zac Taylor said Tuesday that Chase (undisclosed), who missed practice for this first time this training camp, is a situation the Bengals will monitor day-to-day, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase has yet to actually participate in practice in training camp, but until Tuesday he'd been present every day while in street clothes. It remains to be seen whether Chase's absence is related to an injury sustained during private workouts, a personal matter, or his ongoing contract dispute. In any event, it's a new development as the star wide receiver's 'hold-in' continues. The Bengals should provide further clarity about Chase's status in the near future.
Jul 29, 2024
Still not practicing
Chase (contract) isn't practicing Monday and isn't likely to practice Tuesday, James Rapien of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase continues to "hold in" due to his desire for a new contract, watching from the sidelines rather than participating. He's coming up on a full week of missed practices, and it's hard to get a good read on the situation given that he's not discussing it with media (or even acknowledging that his absence is contract-related). Bengals owner Mike Brown said last week that it might take a while to finalize an extension, perhaps setting the table for Chase to remain absent from practice into August. The Bengals typically have avoided extensions with players that have multiple years remaining on rookie contracts, but Chase would be a sensible exception in light of three straight 1,000-yard seasons to open his career. He's currently under contract through 2025 via the fifth-year option on his rookie deal.
Jul 25, 2024
Present but not practicing
Chase (contract) is present on the sideline but not practicing for the second straight day at Bengals camp Thursday, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
One of the many star wideouts across the league looking for a new contract, Chase is following Brandon Aiyuk's lead and "holding in" at Bengals camp. He's observed workouts from the side each of the first two days of training camp. In addition to Aiyuk and Chase, CeeDee Lamb is another receiver looking for a big extension, except Lamb is away from the team completely and is holding out. Bengals owner Mike Brown recently said Chase's extension could take a while.
Jun 12, 2024
Only doing walkthroughs
Chase has been a limited participant in minicamp, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
It sounds like he's opted for a "hold-in" rather than a holdout, showing up for mandatory minicamp but only participating in walkthroughs and meetings. Chase doesn't want to risk an injury while his agent is negotiating a contract extension, so it'll be interesting to see what approach he takes if nothing is signed before the start of training camp in late July. Tee Higgins, meanwhile, is missing minicamp without accruing fines, as he still hasn't signed his franchise tag and technically isn't under contract.
Jun 11, 2024
Not holding out
Chase is present Tuesday for the start of mandatory minicamp, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase's presence for the first mandatory practice of the offseason confirms he's not holding out, after he skipped voluntary OTAs throughout May. The Bengals picked up his fifth-year option in March, keeping Chase under contract through 2025. Tee Higgins, on the other hand, still hasn't signed his franchise tag and thus technically isn't under contract, allowing him to miss minicamp without being fined. Both wide receivers want contract extensions, and Chase's talent may make him the priority even though Higgins can become a free agent sooner.
May 28, 2024
Absent from OTAs
Chase and teammate Tee Higgins are not present for voluntary OTAs on Tuesday as they continue to negotiate potential contract extensions, Ben Baby of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase hasn't yet participated in voluntary workouts for Cincinnati this offseason, and he's now eligible for a contract extension. The Bengals picked up his fifth-year option, Higgins, meanwhile, has yet to sign his franchise tender after Cincinnati placed the one-year tag on him back in February. Coach Zac Taylor stated that he's not worried about the absence of either wideout, saying "they'll be ready and focused when it's time to come back." For now, though, Joe Burrow (wrist) will be taking reps without either of his top receivers present.
Apr 24, 2024
Fifth-year option picked up
The Bengals have elected to pick up Chase's fifth-year contract option.
ANALYSIS
With the expected move, Chase will remain under contract with Cincinnati through the 2025 campaign. This past season, the 2021 first-rounder recorded a career-high 100 catches (on 145 targets) for 1,216 yards and seven TDs in 16 regular-season games. The 24-year-old is thus poised to remain QB Joe Burrow's top pass-catching option for the next couple of years, and in that context Chase remains a top tier fantasy option at the wide receiver position.
Jan 7, 2024
Reaches 100 catches in finale
Chase caught four of six targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 31-14 win over the Browns. He finishes the season with 100 catches on 145 targets for 1,216 yards and seven touchdowns.
ANALYSIS
Chase took a back seat in the season finale to Joe Mixon and Andrei Iosivas, who scored two touchdowns apiece. The star wideout battled a shoulder injury down the stretch, and playing without Joe Burrow (wrist) after Week 11 didn't help matters, but Chase still posted the first 100-catch season of his three-year career. With Burrow expected back healthy next season, Chase should remain among the first few wide receivers off the board in fantasy drafts.
Jan 4, 2024
Practices fully Thursday
Chase (shoulder) was a full practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Earlier Thursday, Chase told Jay Morrison of ProFootballNetwork.com that he feels good physically and will play Sunday against the Browns, despite the fact that the Bengals have been eliminated from playoff contention. The receiver's ability to take every rep during Thursday's practice supports his assertion about his health, though it's conceivable that Chase could still have his snap count managed to some degree with little more than pride at stake in Week 18. Chase will have some motivation to end the season on a high note after he posted a meager 10-134-0 receiving line on 15 targets over Cincinnati's last four contests while missing one of those games (a Week 16 loss to Pittsburgh) due to a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder.
Jan 3, 2024
Opens Week 18 with limited practice
Chase (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Jay Morrison of Pro Football Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase sat out Week 16 due to a shoulder injury, then played in Week 17 against the Chiefs but was held to three catches for 41 yards. The Bengals have been eliminated from playoff contention and thus don't have much reason to push their star receiver, but Chase's limited participation Wednesday suggests he's planning to try to play in Sunday's season finale against the Browns.
Dec 31, 2023
Held to three catches
Chase recorded three receptions on seven targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 25-17 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Chase returned from a one-game absence caused by a shoulder injury, and he managed to tie for the team lead in targets. However, outside of a 24-yard reception on the team's second offensive possession, he was erased from making an impact on the game. With the Bengals now eliminated from playoff contention, the team may opt to protect Chase's health and either rest him or limit his snaps in a Week 18 matchup against the Browns.
Dec 31, 2023
Back in action Sunday
Chase (shoulder) is listed as active Sunday in Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
After Chase sustained what was eventually confirmed to be an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder back in Week 15 against the Vikings, coach Zac Taylor called the wide receiver day-to-day. The forecast dimmed within days, though, and Taylor ruled Chase out ahead of a Week 16 matchup with the Steelers. Chase finally returned to practice Thursday as a limited participant, maintaining that activity level one day later before the Bengals deemed him questionable for Week 17 action. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported early Sunday morning that Chase was in line to suit up Sunday, and now that's been confirmed. In four career appearances (including playoffs) versus the Chiefs, Chase has compiled a 30-492-4 line on 37 targets.
Dec 31, 2023
Appears likely to play Sunday
Chase (shoulder) remains listed as questionable but looks likely to play in Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Adam Schefter of ESPN supports the notion that Chase is on track to make his return from a one-game absence due to a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder, though the wideout is expected to see how he feels during a pregame workout before the Bengals verify that he'll play. After sitting out last week's loss to Pittsburgh, Chase remained a spectator for practice Wednesday before returning to the field for limited sessions Thursday and Friday while also taking part in Saturday's walkthrough. While speaking to the media this week, Chase's comments also seemed to point toward him playing Sunday, so his managers can have some degree of confidence in including him in lineups. Chase's status will be officially confirmed one way or the other when Cincinnati announces its list of inactives 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 29, 2023
Status in question for Week 17
Chase (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Kansas City, Jay Morrison of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase got back on the practice field Thursday as a limited participant and maintained that activity level one day later as he seeks to put an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder in the rearview mirror. When asked about Chase's prospects for Week 17, coach Zac Taylor told Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site, "We'll see in the next 48 hours." Chase thus may be subject to a pregame workout to see where he stands before the team makes a decision on his status about 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 28, 2023
Limited in return to practice
Chase (shoulder) returned to a limited practice Thursday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase was unable to practice Wednesday, but his return to a limited session one day later has him moving in the right direction as Sunday's game against the Chiefs approaches. With regard to his status in advance of Week 17 action, Chase noted Thursday that "it's feeling good right now, but I'm still taking it day by day."
Dec 28, 2023
Present for practice Thursday
Chase (shoulder) suited up for Thursday's practice, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase didn't practice Wednesday, so his looming participation a day later is a step in the right direction in advance of Sunday's game against the Chiefs. The Bengals' upcoming injury report will provide added context with regard to the wideout's Week 17 status by clarifying his official participation level Thursday.
Dec 27, 2023
Working with trainers
Chase (shoulder) isn't practicing Wednesday, but he is working out on the rehab field with training staff, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase missed Saturday's loss to the Steelers and is in danger of missing Sunday's game at Kansas City, though coach Zac Taylor said Wednesday that the wideout is making progress, per Ben Baby of ESPN.com. Rookie Andrei Iosivas got most of the snaps alongside Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd in Week 16, with veteran Trenton Irwin operating as the No. 4 receiver.
Dec 23, 2023
May sit out Week 17, too
Chase (shoulder), who is inactive Saturday at Pittsburgh, may be in danger of sitting out Sunday, Dec. 31 in Kansas City, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase didn't practice at all during Week 16 prep due to the AC joint sprain that he sustained in his right shoulder last Saturday against the Vikings. It thus came as no surprise that the Bengals ruled him out for this Saturday's game, and Rapoport reported that Chase's injury is "more of the 2-to-4 week variety." Chase thus seems more likely to return Week 18 or even in the wild-card round, assuming Cincinnati secures a playoff spot.
Dec 21, 2023
Won't play Saturday
Coach Zac Taylor has ruled Chase (shoulder) out for Saturday's game against the Steelers, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Hobson, Taylor noted Thursday that Chase will be viewed as week-to-week, which clouds the wideout's status for the Bengals' Week 17 contest against the Chiefs on Dec. 31. In Chase's absence, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are slated to lead the team's WR corps, with Andrei Iosivas, Trenton Irwin and Charlie Jones candidates see added snaps as well.
Dec 21, 2023
Still not practicing
Chase (shoulder) wasn't in uniform for Thursday's practice, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Conway notes that Chase -- who didn't practice Tuesday or Wednesday -- was present for Thursday's session, but with the wideout not in uniform for the Bengals' final preparation of the week, his status for Saturday's game against the Steelers remains cloudy. The team's upcoming injury report will clarify whether Chase has any chance to face Pittsburgh or is ruled out ahead of Week 16 action.
Dec 20, 2023
Misses another practice
Chase (shoulder) remained sidelined at practice Wednesday, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase, who also didn't practice Tuesday, thus has one more chance to practice ahead of Saturday's game against the Steelers. At this stage it doesn't seem likely the wideout will be available this weekend and it's possible he'll be ruled out for Week 16 action as soon as Thursday.
Dec 19, 2023
Not practicing Tuesday
Coach Zac Taylor said Chase (shoulder) won't take part in practice Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase exited late during this past Saturday's eventual overtime win against the Vikings and was seen in street clothes on the sideline in its waning moments. Taylor clarified the nature of the injury Sunday, calling it an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder. While Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Monday that Chase is in line to miss Saturday's game at Pittsburgh and potentially time beyond that, Taylor noted Tuesday that the Bengals will "take it day-to-day," and "we'll see as the week goes." Mixing back into drills Wednesday and/or Thursday would brighten Chase's prospects for Week 16, but if he ends up missing time, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd would hold more sway in Cincinnati's offense.
Dec 18, 2023
Expected to miss time
Chase (shoulder) is expected to miss the Bengals' Week 16 matchup with the Steelers and potentially more time beyond that, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase suffered an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder during Saturday's 27-24 overtime loss to the Vikings. While he has not officially been ruled out for Week 16, that is the expectation. Should the star pass catcher indeed sit out, Tee Higgins would slide into the No. 1 receiver role with Tyler Boyd as the second option for quarterback Jake Browning.
Dec 17, 2023
Day-to-day with shoulder injury
Coach Zac Taylor noted Sunday that Chase is considered day-to-day due to an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase sustained the injury during Saturday's 27-24 overtime win over the Vikings, and the wideout's status will now need to be monitored closely ahead of the 8-6 Bengals' Dec. 23 contest against the Steelers. By being deemed day-to-day, Chase has chance to be available next weekend, with added context regarding his Week 16 status set to arrive once Cincinnati resumes practicing Tuesday.
Dec 16, 2023
Officially has separated shoulder
Chase sustained a separated shoulder during Saturday's 27-24 overtime win against the Vikings, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase injured his right shoulder late in the Bengals' Week 15 matchup and was unable to return, finishing with four catches (on four targets) for 64 yards. After his departure, he was seen with a wrap of some sort on the shoulder while in street clothes. It's unclear if Chase will be able to play through the issue, but his status could gain some clarity as soon as Tuesday when the team may hold a practice ahead of next Saturday's contest at Pittsburgh.
Dec 16, 2023
Doesn't return to Saturday's contest
Chase didn't return to Saturday's 27-24 overtime win over the Vikings after exiting with a right shoulder injury.
ANALYSIS
Prior to leaving the contest, Chase caught all four of his targets for 64 yards. The star wideout will now look to potentially return to action Dec. 23 against the Steelers. If, however, Chase is limited or out in Week 16, Trenton Irwin, Andrei Iosivas and Charlie Jones would be candidate to log added WR snaps behind Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd.
Dec 16, 2023
Exits Saturday's game
Chase was forced out of Saturday's game against the Vikings with a right shoulder injury.
ANALYSIS
Prior to his exit from the contest, Chase caught all four of his targets for 64 yards. In his absence, Trenton Irwin, Andrei Iosivasand Charlie Jones are available to log added WR snaps behind Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd.
Dec 14, 2023
Ready to play after full practice
Chase (ankle) doesn't have an injury designation for Saturday's game against the Vikings after he was a full practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Though he was estimated as a non-participant in practice Tuesday and was limited in Wednesday's practice, Chase said after the latter session that he was "100 percent" and on track to play Saturday, according to Ben Baby of ESPN.com. The wideout's ability to take every rep at the Bengals' final Week 15 practice Thursday has since removed any lingering doubt about his status heading into Saturday. Chase will be playing a fourth straight game with Jake Browning as his quarterback, with the 23-year-old having thus far compiled a 18-259-1 receiving line on 22 targets through the Bengals' first three contests without Joe Burrow (wrist).
Dec 13, 2023
Practices in limited fashion
Chase (ankle) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals estimated Chase as a non-participant Tuesday while the team opened Week 15 prep with a walk-through session, but the wideout was able to take a step forward in terms of activity Wednesday. Chase may not upgrade to full activity Thursday in the Bengals' final practice of the week, but the receiver told Ben Baby of ESPN.com that he's 100 percent healthy, despite his inclusion on the injury report. Assuming he's cleared to play Saturday versus the Vikings, Chase isn't expected to face any restrictions with his snap count.
Dec 13, 2023
On track for Saturday
Chase (ankle) is practicing Wednesday, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals are facing a quicker turnaround than usual for Week 15 with a game Saturday against Minnesota, but the expectation is that Chase's ankle injury isn't anything that will prevent him from suiting up this weekend, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Cincinnati listed Chase as a non-participant on Tuesday's practice estimate, but the wideout is taking a step forward by getting on the field Wednesday in some capacity.
Dec 12, 2023
Managing ankle injury
The Bengals listed Chase as a non-participant on Tuesday's estimated practice report due to an ankle injury, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer, Chase was in uniform for the portion of Tuesday's session that was open to the media, but Cincinnati was merely holding a walk-through to begin Week 15 prep, and the receiver wouldn't have taken any reps if the Bengals held a traditional practice. Though the Bengals provided no indication that Chase sustained an injury in this past Sunday's 34-14 win over the Colts, the ankle issue may explain why he was limited to three catches for 29 yards on four targets while playing 86 percent of snaps in what was a favorable matchup on paper. He'll have two more chances to potentially log some practice reps before the Bengals make a call on his availability for this Saturday's game against the Vikings.
Dec 10, 2023
Shut down in Week 14 win
Chase secured three of four targets for 29 yards in the Bengals' 34-14 win over the Colts on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Chase tied with multiple teammate for the team lead in receptions and targets, but he was a distant fourth in receiving yards. The star wideout saw Jake Browning distribute the ball to nine different players overall, leaving Chase with his second lowest yardage tally of the campaign. Sunday's disappointing day aside, Chase has already demonstrated plenty of rapport with Browning, so the receiver's fantasy prospects remain high in a Week 15 home matchup versus the Vikings.
Dec 5, 2023
Stellar effort in Week 13 win
Chase brought in 11 of 12 targets for 149 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 34-31 overtime win over the Jaguars on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
Chase and fill-in quarterback Jake Browning put on quite the primetime display in the shocking upset, with the biggest play of the night between the two coming on the star receiver's 76-yard touchdown reception down the left sideline in the third quarter. Chase also contributed two catches for 25 yards on Cincinnati's game-winning drive in overtime, and his yardage total was his second highest of the campaign. Chase has also scored in three of the last four contests, with two of those touchdowns coming in conjunction with Browning. The duo will aim to keep their connection thriving in a home matchup against the Colts in Week 14.
Nov 26, 2023
Manages 81 yards in loss
Chase recorded four receptions on six targets for 81 yards in Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Chase was Cincinnati's most-targeted receiver by a narrow margin, but he was by far the team's most productive pass catcher. He made a few highlight reel plays, as his longest gain of the day came on a deflected pass that he collected and turned upfield for 31 yards. Chase later caught a tightly contested pass with his mouthguard in his hand. Though the catches may have come in unique circumstances, the fact that Chase was productive with Jake Browning under center for a full game is reassuring as Cincinnati heads into a Week 13 matchup against the Jaguars.
Nov 16, 2023
Scores in Week 11 loss
Chase secured two of seven targets for 12 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 34-20 loss to the Ravens on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Even with Tee Higgins (hamstring) sidelined for a second straight contest and Chase leading the team in targets, the star receiver's production was at a season-low points. Chase managed to salvage his fantasy night to an extent with a two-yard touchdown grab with 1:08 remaining that was exponentially more meaningful from a fantasy perspective than in the context of the game itself. With Joe Burrow having suffered a wrist injury of unknown severity Thursday night as well, Chase could have an uphill battle to get back to his usual numbers in a Week 12 home divisional clash against the Steelers on Sunday, Nov. 26.

Excels despite health concerns
Chase (back) brought in five of six targets for 124 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 30-27 loss to the Texans on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Chase was able to clear the pregame warmup hurdle to garner active status, but he was believed to be playing with some notable discomfort stemming from the back bruise he'd suffered in the Week 9 win over the Bills. With Tee Higgins (hamstring) inactive, Chase was able to help make up for his teammate's absence via a team-high receiving yardage tally that was spearheaded by an impressive 64-yard touchdown reception late in the third quarter. The fact Chase apparently made it through the game no worse for wear is particularly important when considering Higgins may be hard-pressed to return on a short week for a critical Week 11 Thursday night road matchup against the Ravens.
Nov 12, 2023
Suiting up Sunday
Chase (back) is active for Sunday's game against the Texans, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out one practice and managing only limited participation in the other two this week, Chase took a questionable tag into Sunday and was viewed as a true game-time decision leading up to kickoff. While he ultimately did enough during pregame warmups to avoid the inactive list, Chase is likely suiting up at less-than-optimal health while he contends with a painful back bruise that he sustained on a hard fall to the turf in last week's win over the Bills. No reports have indicated that Chase will be on a strict snap count Sunday, so fantasy managers can probably feel comfortable keeping him active this week. Even if Chase does end up facing some in-game limitations, he could be heavily targeted whenever he's on the field, given that No. 2 wideout Tee Higgins (hamstring) is inactive for Week 10.
Nov 12, 2023
Expected to suit up Sunday
Chase (back) is expected to be active Sunday against the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, Chase did what he needed to do during warmups and is now expected to be available for Sunday's contest. Either way, official confirmation of the wideout's status will arrive once the Bengals' inactives are posted ahead of the team's 1:00 ET kickoff.
Nov 12, 2023
Truly 50-50 for Sunday
Chase (back) is a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup against the Texans and considered truly 50-50 to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase is officially listed as questionable for Week 10, but it sounds like fantasy managers won't have clarification on his status until Cincinnati's inactives list is released 90 minutes ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. The star wideout is at least confirmed to have avoided any structural damage, but the back bruise he suffered due to a hard landing Week 9 versus the Bills could still impact his availability. After Sunday's game against Houston, the Bengals will have a short turnaround before facing the Ravens on Thursday Night Football. Tee Higgins (hamstring) is already ruled out for Sunday.
Nov 11, 2023
Hopeful to play
The Bengals are hopeful that Chase (back) will be able to play Sunday against Houston, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase has dealt with a back bruise throughout the week after landing hard in a victory over the Bills in Week 9. He concluded the week with two limited practices but will go through pre-game workouts before his availability is decided. Chase is officially listed as questionable and his status will become official roughly 90 minutes before the team's 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
Nov 10, 2023
Gets questionable tag for Sunday
The Bengals list Chase (back) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
After tending to what he described as a back bruise coming out of the Bengals' Week 9 win over the Bills, Chase sat out the Bengals' first practice of Week 10 on Wednesday before returning to the field Thursday and Friday as a limited participant. Though Chase's ability to finish the week on the field on back-to-back days is generally a good sign, head coach Zac Taylor was non-committal about the receiver's status for Sunday, according to Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer. Fortunately for those considering Chase in Week 10 lineups, the Bengals and Texans kick off among the early wave of games at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, likely leaving fantasy managers with more options to turn to in the event the wideout is ruled out.
Nov 10, 2023
Sunday status TBD
When asked Friday about the chances of Chase (back) playing Sunday against the Texans, coach Zac Taylor replied "we'll see," Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Ben Baby of ESPN.com, Chase -- who returned to a limited practice Thursday -- was present for Friday's session as well. The Bengals' upcoming injury report will reveal Chase's participation level, but look for the wideout to be deemed questionable to play this weekend. Meanwhile, Taylor has already confirmed that Tee Higgins (hamstring) won't be available versus Houston.
Nov 9, 2023
Turns in limited practice
Chase (back) was a limited participant in practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Zac Taylor acknowledged earlier in the week that Chase was contending with back soreness during this past Sunday's win over the Bills, resulting in the wideout sitting out the Bengals' first Week 10 practice Wednesday. Chase's ability to return to practice in some capacity a day later is a step in the right direction, though the receiver told Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic that he's still viewing himself as day-to-day and wouldn't yet commit to being available this Sunday against the Texans. Chase also characterized his injury as a back bruise rather than back soreness, after an MRI on Monday revealed nothing overly concerning. According to Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer, Chase said he felt "OK" during Thursday's session, and he plans to increase his activity Friday as he attempts to gauge whether he's in good condition to play this weekend.
Nov 9, 2023
Spotted at practice
Chase (back) was present for practice Thursday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Goldsmith notes that Chase -- who didn't practice Wednesday -- appeared to be going through his normal routine with the team's starting receivers Thursday, but the extent of his participation won't be known until the Bengals release their second Week 10 injury report. Chase is looking to overcome back soreness, which he experienced during Sunday's win over the Bills.
Nov 8, 2023
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Chase (back) was officially listed as a non-participant in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Chase, who is dealing with back soreness, per Ben Baby of ESPN, now has two more chances to return to practice ahead of Sunday's 1:00 ET game against the Texans. His status is thus worth monitoring closely as the week progresses, with the same applying to fellow WR Tee Higgins, who logged a limited session Wednesday.
Nov 8, 2023
Not at practice
Chase (back) isn't at practice Wednesday, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Zac Taylor already told reporters Chase would be limited if he was able to practice at all. It turns out he's absent, though he seemingly still has decent odds to play this Sunday at the Texans, considering he returned to Sunday's 24-18 win over the Bills shortly after taking a hard fall and ultimately played 90 percent of available snaps.
Nov 6, 2023
Labeled day-to-day with back injury
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Monday that Chase is day-to-day with a back injury, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Those Chase handled a typical snap share (90 percent) on offense on his way to finishing with four catches for 41 yards on eight targets in Sunday's 24-18 win over the Bills, Taylor said the receiver was playing through a back issue that got worse as the game went along. Taylor added that Chase is still feeling sore Monday and noted that the 23-year-old may get a day off of practice to begin Week 10 prep. At this stage, Taylor hasn't committed to Chase being cleared ahead of next Sunday's game against the Texans, so his practice activity will bear watching in the days to come.
Nov 6, 2023
Modest output in victory
Chase caught four of eight targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 24-18 win over the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Chase took a back seat to Tee Higgins (8-110-0), who finished as the Bengals' leading receiver Sunday. The usual No. 1 option also ceded a pair of touchdowns in the red zone to tight ends Drew Sample and Irv Smith Jr., resulting in a down performance by the wideout's lofty standards. Chase was coming off of a massive three-game stretch in which he produced 31 receptions, 372 yards and four touchdowns for fantasy owners, which helps soften the blow of Sunday's underwhelming line. In positive news, Joe Burrow continues to excel as his health returns, putting Chase in a prime position to bounce back against the Texans next Sunday.
Oct 29, 2023
Another elite effort in win
Chase brought in 10 of 12 targets for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals' 31-17 in over the 49ers on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered.
ANALYSIS
Chase led the Bengals pass catchers across the stat sheet and essentially put the nail in the coffin of the 49ers with his 17-yard touchdown grab in the fourth quarter that he punctuated with backflip in a post-score celebration. Chase now has double-digit targets in four of the last five games, including three straight, and has hit or eclipsed the century mark on three occasions overall. The 2021 first-round pick should once again play an integral role in a Week 9 home showdown against the Bills next Sunday night.
Oct 15, 2023
Commands 13 targets
Chase recorded six receptions on 13 targets for 80 yards in Sunday's 17-13 win over the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Even with the return of Tee Higgins (ribs), Chase dominated targets, doubling the next-closest member of the receiving corps. He was less successful in terms of efficiency, as he caught fewer than half of his opportunities, which limited him to 6.2 yards per target. Even so, he's now topped 60 receiving yards in each of his last four games. He'll face a challenge in his next outing, which will come in Week 8 against the 49ers.
Oct 8, 2023
Hauls in three TDs against Arizona
Chase caught 15 of 19 targets for 192 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 34-20 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Joe Burrow finally looked completely healthy for the first time this season, and with Tee Higgins (ribs) sidelined, Chase was far and away the top option for the Bengals quarterback. The TDs were the first of 2023 for the wideout, but this was the second time in five games he's caught double-digit passes and topped 140 yards, and over his last three contests Chase has racked up a massive 34-406-3 line on 43 targets. He could be headed for another big performance in Week 6 against a Seahawks secondary that's already allowed four different WRs to top 100 yards this year.
Oct 1, 2023
Seven catches in blowout loss
Chase recorded seven receptions on nine targets for 73 yards in Sunday's 27-3 loss to the Titans.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals offense continued to underwhelm in Week 4, which was particularly disappointing considering the Titans entered the game having allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game. However, with Joe Burrow only throwing for 165 yards, Chase's production was decent given the context. After combining to record only 70 receiving yards across the first two games of the season, Chase has 141 and 73 yards in his last two games, respectively. While that's positive, he'll continue to disappoint relative to expectation so long as the Cincinnati offense remains stalled.
Sep 26, 2023
Breaks out with 12 catches on MNF
Chase hauled in 12 of his 15 targets for 141 receiving yards in Monday's 19-16 win over the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Chase busted out of his early-season slump in a big way with a career best 12-catch game in a primetime matchup. The only thing missing from the superstar's receiving line was a trip to the end zone, which has eluded the wideout through three games this season. Joe Burrow (calf) was limited by injury for the third consecutive week, but he was finally able to get his top weapon involved after the duo combined for just 70 total yards in Cincinnati's first two contests. Chase's production is tied heavily to his Burrow's health, who confirmed in a post-game interview that his calf made it through Monday's win without a setback. With his first big game of the season out of the way, Chase will look for his first trip to the end zone in 2023 when the Bengals visit the Titans next Sunday.
Sep 17, 2023
Another quiet week
Chase had five catches for 31 yards on eight targets in the Bengals' Week 2 loss to the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals struggled to unlock Chase, with almost all of his targets coming on shorter routes. Teammate Joe Burrow appeared to tweak his calf injury very late in the game, which could continue to drag down Chase's production next week against the Rams.
Sep 10, 2023
Quiet in Week 1 loss
Chase caught five of nine targets for 39 yards and rushed once for two yards in Sunday's 24-3 loss to the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Chase accounted for more than half of Joe Burrow's first-half passing yardage, but that was unfortunately just 19 of 36 yards as the Bengals trailed 10-0 at halftime. The star receiver drew an 18-yard pass interference penalty to set up a field goal for the Bengals' first points on their first possession after halftime, but it was more of the same from there, as Burrow finished with a meager 82 passing yards. Fellow wide receiver Tee Higgins failed to catch any of his eight targets, so at least Chase still managed to salvage something from this disastrous road performance out of the Bengals' offense. Chase and his teammates will look to bounce back at home in Week 2 against the Ravens.
Sep 7, 2023
Practices with Burrow on Wednesday
Chase took the field Wednesday alongside quarterback Joe Burrow (calf), who was a full practice participant for the first time since late July.
ANALYSIS
Re-establishing chemistry shouldn't be an issue since the receiver and quarterback already have four years of experience together dating back to their college days at LSU, but the fact that Burrow is set to put in a full week of practice should at least ease any concerns fantasy managers might have had about Chase's outlook heading into Sunday's season opener at Cleveland. Compared to his rookie season, Chase took a big step back in terms of efficiency in Year 2 (11.4 yards per target to 7.7), but he saw a major spike in opportunities (7.5 targets per game to 11.3). A healthier Tee Higgins could result in Chase's targets per game taking a slight hit in 2023, but the latter should still have a legitimate chance at emerging as the No. 1 overall receiver in fantasy football while he remains the top playmaker in what shapes up as one of the NFL's most potent offenses.
Aug 6, 2023
Preaching patience with Burrow
Speaking to the NFL Network on Friday, Chase encouraged teammate Joe Burrow to fully recover from his calf injury, even if it means missing Week 1, Jay Morrison of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Chase elaborated: "I 100 percent mean that. I just want him to be 100 percent healthy to play. I don't want him rushing nothing. I don't want people in his ear telling him to play at a certain time. I just want him to be healthy."
ANALYSIS
Chase has his own experience recovering from an injury and taking the extra week after being technically cleared to play. He took one extra week to rest the week the Bengals played the Titans (and they won anyways), in order to allow him to be 100 percent down the stretch last season.
Jan 29, 2023
Six catches not enough in loss
Chase caught six of eight targets for 75 yards in Sunday's 23-20 AFC Championship Game loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Chase finished three targets and eight receiving yards shy of Tee Higgins' team-leading totals, and Chase was also held out of the end zone for the first time this postseason while Higgins scored his first touchdown of the playoffs. The fifth overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft was brilliant again in his second NFL season, needing only 12 games to rack up 1,046 yards and nine touchdowns in the regular season before adding 220 yards and two touchdowns in three playoff games.
Jan 22, 2023
Scores in big win
Chase caught five of eight targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Bills in the AFC divisional round. He also rushed once for three yards.
ANALYSIS
Chase started the scoring with a 28-yard touchdown to cap Cincinnati's opening drive. The wideout had another touchdown grab overturned later in the game, but Chase still led the Bengals in receiving. Thanks to Sunday's win, he'll now prepare for next weekend's showdown with the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. Chase returned from injury to face Kansas City in Week 13 of the regular season and finished with seven catches for 97 yards in a 27-24 victory.
Jan 15, 2023
Finds end zone in playoff win
Chase caught nine of 12 targets for 84 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 wild-card round win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Chase was unstoppable early on, catching all six of his targets for 52 yards across Cincinnati's first two drives, the latter of which he capped with a seven-yard touchdown to take a 9-0 lead. The Ravens controlled time of possession thereafter and did a better job of containing Chase, but the star receiver's early contributions proved vital in the nail-biting win. Chase and the Bengals will travel to Buffalo in the AFC divisional round.
Jan 8, 2023
Dominates opportunity in Week 18
Chase recorded eight receptions on 13 targets for 86 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-16 win over Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
Chase earned double-digit targets for the fourth consecutive game, and he nearly doubled Tyler Boyd who finished second on the team with seven looks. Chase displayed some big-play ability, highlighted by a 26-yard touchdown catch as well as big gains of 20 and 17 yards. He also served as a check down option for Joe Burrow, tallying short gains of 10 and nine yards. Despite having his season cut short by five games due to a hip injury, Chase surpassed 1,000 receiving yards and managed nine touchdowns. He'll be a key to the Bengals' postseason run.
Dec 24, 2022
Mixed results
Chase had eight catches for 79 yards in Sunday's win over the Patriots, but he also lost a critical fumble in the second half and was the target on an interception by Marcus Jones that was returned for a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
The pick-six was a result of a cross-up between Chase and Joe Burrow, as Chase continued a go-route while Burrow threw a back-shoulder play.
Dec 18, 2022
Grabs eighth touchdown in win
Chase had seven receptions (13 targets) for 60 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-23 win over the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Chase was bottled up for the majority of this contest before Joe Burrow found his favorite target for a short score in fourth quarter. It wasn't the most efficient use of 13 targets from the star wideout, but the touchdown put a bow on a solid point total for managers in the thick of the fantasy playoffs. Chase draws a tough matchup against the Patriots in Week 16, as Bill Belichick's defenses are notorious for keying in on the opposition's top offensive weapon. New England held Las Vegas' Davante Adams to a 4/28/0 receiving line in Week 15, so the Bengals will have to get creative in getting Chase open Saturday.
Dec 11, 2022
Keys Bengals win
Chase had 10 catches for 119 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Browns. He also had one carry for six yards.
ANALYSIS
Chase was operating without Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd essentially for the entire game, after Boyd got hurt on the first pass attempt in the first quarter. Even still, the Browns couldn't find a way to stop Chase. He was sacked once on an attempted trick play, losing nine yards - make sure to watch how your stat provider handles that play in terms of your fantasy scoring.
Dec 4, 2022
Nearly 100 yards in return
Chase caught seven passes for 97 yards in the Bengals' 27-24 win over the Chiefs on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Chase didn't get in the end zone, but he wrought plenty of damage to the Chiefs' secondary, and when he wasn't targeted he drew away coverage to leave others open. He had an additional catch overturned by an offensive pass interference call.
Dec 4, 2022
Returns to action Sunday
Chase (hip) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase, who returned to a full practice Friday, is thus slated to return to game action for the first time since Week 7, with the wideout having suffered a hip injury in Cincinnati's Week 6 win over the Saints. In his return to action Sunday, it remains to be seen if Chase will log his pre-injury allotment of snaps, though Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network suggests that the talented pass catcher isn't expected to face playing-time limitations versus Kansas City. In that context, Chase possesses Week 13 lineup value in the absence of any in-game setbacks. In seven games to date, the 2021 first-rounder has compiled a fantasy-friendly 47/605/6 stat line on 74 targets.
Dec 4, 2022
No limitations expected
Chase (hip), who remains listed as questionable but is expected to play Sunday against the Chiefs, isn't likely to have any snap-count limitations in his return from a four-game absence, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Wolfe, the Bengals plan on keeping an eye on Chase as the game rolls along, but so long he doesn't tweak his right hip during the contest, he looks like he'll be on the field for nearly every offensive down in his return to the lineup. Chase has logged snap shares between 86 and 100 percent in his seven appearances to date, compiling 47 receptions for 605 yards and six touchdowns on 74 targets in the process. Wolfe notes that Chase was on track to play in last week's win over the Titans before requesting that he received another game off to treat what was described as a hairline fracture of his hip and a hyperextended right leg. The extra maintenance he received in addition to the expectation that he won't be limited Sunday should clear up any hesitations fantasy managers might have had about activating Chase this week.
Dec 3, 2022
Likely to return against Chiefs
Chase, officially listed as questionable due to a hip injury, is likely to play Sunday against the Chiefs, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase has missed Cincinnati's last four games with the injury but has practiced for the last two weeks. He turned in a full session Friday, a good indication that he may be able to return. That said, Chase will remain officially questionable until shortly before Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
Dec 2, 2022
Practices fully, listed as questionable
Chase (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs after practicing fully Friday, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
At this stage, Chase is trending toward a return to action this weekend following a four-game absence due to a hip injury. "He did everything we needed to see," coach Zac Taylor noted Friday of the wideout's running and cutting. "I hate to use the words 'for sure,' but I'm optimistic. He's on track." Added context regarding Chase's Week 13 status should arrive late Saturday or early Sunday, but either way it will still be worth confirming his status when the Bengals' inactives are posted ahead of the team's 4:25 ET kickoff.
Dec 1, 2022
Reps capped in practice
Chase (hip) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase has now been limited in five consecutive sessions and has yet to turn in a full practice since late October, when he suffered what he described as a hairline fracture of his hip and a hyperextended right leg. The receiver indicated Wednesday that he expects to put an end to his four-game absence this Sunday against the Chiefs, but whether Chase is cleared in advance of the weekend or receives an injury designation for the contest will likely be determined by the extent of his activity in practice Friday.
Nov 30, 2022
Still limited at practice
Chase (hip) was limited at practice Wednesday, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase previously noted that his injured hip feels good enough to play at least "some reps," Sunday against the Chiefs and his continued participation in practice supports that notion. That said, unless the Bengals' star wideout returns to a full practice by Friday, he figures to head into the weekend with a Week 13 injury designation.
Nov 30, 2022
Plans to play Sunday
Chase (hip) said Wednesday that he's preparing as though he'll play Sunday against the Chiefs, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The wideout -- who last suited up Week 7 -- indicated that he'll see how the rest of the week goes, but he affirmed that he's "expecting to take some reps" versus Kansas City. Per Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer, Chase disclosed that he's returning from a hairline hip fracture, and while there had been hope that he would return to action for the Week 12 win over the Titans, he wasn't feeling comfortable enough to take the field. As this weekend's game approaches, however, Andrew Gillis of The Cleveland Plain Dealer relays that Chase says his hip is now pain-free.
Nov 28, 2022
Expected to return Week 13
Chase (hip) is expected to return from his four-game absence versus Kansas City in Week 13, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals reportedly considered having Chase retake the field for Sunday's win over Tennessee, but the team ultimately opted to play it safe with the star wideout's return and give him a bit more time to fully recover from his hip injury. Barring any setbacks, now, the expectation is that Chase will be available alongside Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd for Sunday's matchup against the Chiefs, a contest that could easily develop into a high-scoring affair. It's also possible Cincinnati gets Joe Mixon (concussion) back in the lineup after he was inactive against the Titans.
Nov 27, 2022
Inactive Sunday
Chase (hip) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans, Marisa Contipelli of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase, who has missed the Bengals' last three games due to a hip injury, was a limited participant at practice Wednesday through Friday before being listed as questionable for the contest. However, the star wideout will be held out once again Sunday and will thus target a potential return to action next weekend when Cincinnati faces Kansas City at home. In Chase's continued absence, Trenton Irwin figures to log added wideout snaps alongside Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd in Week 12.
Nov 27, 2022
Not expected to play Sunday
Chase (hip) is not expected to be active for Sunday's game against the Titans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase reportedly logged an encouraging week of practice and is closing in on a return to the field, but he's expected to miss at least one more game. The star wideout resumed practicing in limited fashion this week after missing the last three games due to a hip injury. It appears that the final word on Chase's status could still come down to a game-time call ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, but the expectation is that Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will once again act as Joe Burrow's top wideouts.
Nov 26, 2022
Trending toward another absence
Chase (hip) isn't in line to play Sunday at Tennessee, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase got back on the practice field this week in a limited fashion after missing the last three game due to a sore hip. While he hasn't officially been ruled out by the Bengals -- coach Zac Taylor said Friday that the wide receiver would be a game-time call -- it appears Chase instead will aim to return Week 13 against the Chiefs. In the end, the decision on Chase's status will be revealed about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
Nov 25, 2022
Trending toward game-day call
Chase (hip) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobson adds that coach Zac Taylor indicates that a decision on the wideout's Week 12 status will be made Sunday. Fortunately for those hoping to use Chase in fantasy lineups this weekend, the Bengals' kickoff versus Tennessee is at 1:00 ET.
Nov 24, 2022
Another limited practice
Chase (hip) remained limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Now that he's logged back-to-back limited practices, Chase is trending in the right direction ahead of this weekend's game against the Titans. That said, unless he practices fully Friday, the wideout figures to carry a Week 12 injury designation ahead of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff.
Nov 23, 2022
Limited in return to practice
Chase (hip) was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase last saw game action in Week 7, with his return to practice Wednesday, albeit in a limited fashion, representing a significant step toward the wideout potentially playing this weekend against the Titans. Unless Chase is able to practice fully by Friday, however, he figures to approach Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff with a Week 12 injury designation.
Nov 23, 2022
Back at practice
Chase (hip) was spotted at practice Wednesday, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
It remains to be seen how the Bengals list Chase's participation level, but at this stage the wideout appears to be trending in the right direction in advance of Sunday's contest against the Titans. Prior to being sidelined, Chase -- who last saw game action in Week 7 -- was providing strong fantasy production, having caught 47 passes (on 74 targets) for 605 yards and six TDs in seven outings.
Nov 23, 2022
Expected to play, per Burrow
QB Joe Burrow indicated Wednesday that the Bengals expect Chase (hip) to play Sunday against the Titans, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Such an outcome is contingent on the wideout not suffering any setbacks upon his anticipated return to practice this week, but it looks like Chase is is trending toward his first game action since Week 7. Added context with regard his Week 12 status should arrive Wednesday, once the Bengals post their first injury report of the week.
Nov 21, 2022
Slated to practice this week
Coach Zac Taylor said Monday that Chase (hip) will resume practicing this week, but his availability for Sunday's matchup against the Titans remains to be determined, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Taylor added, "everything has been positive up to this point, which we hoped it would be," so Chase, who hasn't suited up since Week 7 due to a hip injury, could return to game action soon. However, the star wideout's participation at practice this week will likely provide further clarity on his availability for Week 12.
Nov 20, 2022
Could practice next week
Chase (hip), who is out for Sunday's game against the Steelers, has a chance to practice this coming week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, the wideout -- who last suited up in Week 7 -- is improving and is off crutches at this stage. If Chase is indeed able to resume practicing in the coming days, he could potentially return to the Bengals' lineup as soon as next weekend against the Titans. In his absence this Sunday, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd will continue to lead the team's wide receiver corps in Week 11.
Nov 18, 2022
Not playing Sunday
Chase (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
Chase already has missed two contests due to a hip issue, and following the Bengals' Week 10 bye, he'll make it a third this weekend. Having said that, the team opted not to place him on IR, which would have required him to sit out at least four games. Considering Chase was given a recovery timeline of 4-to-6 weeks, there's a chance he'll be able to return Sunday, Nov. 27 in Tennessee. First, though, he'll have to mix into drills next week in order to put himself in a position to do so.
Nov 16, 2022
Remains sidelined
Chase (hip) wasn't present for Wednesday's practice, Andrew Gillis of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Following Cincinnati's Week 10 bye, Chase remains sidelined, though Jeremy Fowler of ESPN suggests that the Bengals are hopeful the wideout can potentially return to action in Week 12 against the Titans. In the meantime, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are in line to continue to lead the team's WR corps.
Oct 29, 2022
Not expected to land on IR
Head coach Zac Taylor stated Chase (hip) is not expected to go on injured reserve, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Given the initial prognosis was the dynamic receiver would likely miss at least four weeks after suffering a hip injury, this is certainly an interesting announcement. It likely helps the Bengals have a Week 10 bye, which would theoretically buy another week of recovery for Chase that would otherwise not count had he been placed on IR. Expect Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins to be prominent figures in the team's passing attack for however long Chase is sidelined.
Oct 28, 2022
Will miss time, per coach
Coach Zac Taylor confirmed Friday that Chase "will miss time with (a) hip injury and will make a full recovery," Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer, Taylor didn't outline a timetable for Chase's recovery, while noting that the Bengals have a few more days to decide whether Chase will be placed on IR. ESPN's Ben Baby previously relayed that the wideout is expected to miss four-to-six weeks, and if Chase does land on IR he'd miss at least four games. In his absence, beginning Monday night against the Browns, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are poised to lead the Bengals' wideout corps, with Mike Thomas and Trent Taylor candidates to log added WR snaps.
Oct 27, 2022
Expected to miss time with hip injury
Chase is reportedly dealing with a hip issue that is expected to sideline him 4-6 weeks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
We'll await official confirmation from the Bengals, but assuming the timeline presented here is accurate, Chase could land on IR. In his looming absence, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are slated to lead the Bengals' wideout corps in the weeks ahead, with Mike Thomas likely to see added reps as well.
Oct 27, 2022
Sits out practice
Chase didn't practice Thursday due to a sore hip, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor suggested prior to the session that the wideout was a candidate to sit out practice, though Chase's lack of reps is believed to be mostly for maintenance-related reasons more than anything, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. Even so, Chase may need to get back on the practice field Friday or Saturday in some capacity to avoid carrying an injury designation into the Bengals' Week 8 game in Cleveland on Monday night. After a somewhat muted start to the season, Chase has erupted over the Bengals' past two games for 15 receptions for 262 yards and four touchdowns on 21 targets.
Oct 27, 2022
Expected to miss practice Thursday
Coach Zac Taylor indicated that Chase (hip) isn't likely to practice Thursday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The report suggests that Chase is dealing with some hip soreness, so the wideout's status will be worth monitoring as Monday night's game against the Browns approaches. In Cincinnati's Week 7 win over the Falcons, Chase logged a 93 percent snap share en route to catching eight of his 11 targets for 130 yards and a pair of TDs.
Oct 23, 2022
Another explosive effort
Chase recorded eight receptions on 11 targets for 130 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 25-17 win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Chase posted a nearly identical line to his massive performance in Week 6, posting his second consecutive game with at least 130 yards and two scores. He reached the end zone from 41 and 32 yards, which accounted for the majority of his production. Chase also overcame a brief injury score late in the first half and had a quiet final two quarters, though he still managed three catches for 18 yards -- suggesting he managed to escape relatively unscathed.
Oct 21, 2022
Not on injury report
Chase (hip) wasn't listed on Cincinnati's final injury report, indicating that he's healthy heading into Sunday's game against the Falcons, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday but managed to avoid an injury designation after practicing fully Friday. While he'll likely see a heavy dose of top Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell, Chase should still be treated as a surefire fantasy starter coming off a 132-yard, two-touchdown performance in New Orleans.
Oct 21, 2022
In line to play Sunday
Coach Zac Taylor indicated Friday that Chase (hip) is slated to play Sunday against the Falcons without any limitations, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The wideout logged limited practices Wednesday and Thursday, but based on Taylor's comment Friday, there's a solid chance that Chase will close out the week with a full session and head into the weekend minus a Week 7 injury designation.
Oct 20, 2022
Limited Thursday
Chase (hip) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Athletic writer Jay Morrison reports.
ANALYSIS
That Chase has been limited through two practices indicates he's not fully healthy, but so long as he maintains a practice presence Friday he should be on track to suit up against Atlanta.
Oct 19, 2022
Dealing with hip issue
Chase (hip) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase handled a full workload in Sunday's win over the Saints, catching seven of 10 targets for 132 yards and two TDs while doing much of his damage late in the game. He thus seems likely to be ready for Sunday's game against the Falcons, though it'll be worth keeping an eye on Cincinnati's injury reports with WR Tee Higgins (ankle) and TE Hayden Hurst (groin) also limited Wednesday and hoping to avoid setbacks with injuries they've been able to play through.
Oct 16, 2022
Explodes for two scores
Chase had seven receptions on 10 targets for 132 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 30-26 win over the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Joe Burrow and Chase came into the Superdome on a mission to recreate the magic the LSU teammates had the last time they played at this venue. The superstar duo did their part on the field, hooking up for a game-winning touchdown inside of the two-minute warning that sealed the victory for Cincinnati. Chase was having an adequate fantasy year coming into Sunday's matchup, so the monster stat line will surely boost his managers' spirits heading into the meat of the season. The 22-year-old phenom will carry a 39/475/4 line into a soft matchup against Atlanta's secondary next Sunday.
Oct 10, 2022
Limited by division rival
Chase grabbed seven receptions on 12 targets for 50 yards and rushed once for no gain in Sunday's 19-17 loss to Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens were intent on not letting Joe Burrow and Chase beat them deep, consistently playing two-deep safety sets while veteran corner Marcus Peters played the star wideout physically off the line of scrimmage. Baltimore's plan worked well when factoring in the superstar's pedestrian stat line and the end result of the contest. The 22-year-old has been consistent with 32 receptions, 343 yards and two scores through five games, but the results seem lacking compared to last year's monster stat lines. Chase will draw a tough matchup on paper against shutdown corner Marcus Lattimore and the Saints next Sunday, but there is no situation where fantasy managers should doubt starting the elite talent.
Sep 29, 2022
Solid yardage total in win
Chase secured four of six targets for 81 yards in the Bengals' 27-15 win over the Dolphins on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Chase finished second in receptions, receiving yards and targets to Tee Higgins for the Bengals on the night, turning in his best yardage total since Week 1 against the Steelers in the process. The 2021 first-round pick's 20.3 yards per reception was a welcome sight after he'd averaged just 7.5 yards per grab over the previous two games, and Chase will aim to keep his momentum going in a key Week 5 AFC North road battle versus the Ravens a week from Sunday night.
Sep 25, 2022
TD salvages quiet Week 3
Chase caught six of 10 targets for 29 yards and a touchdown while rushing twice for minus-2 yards and losing a fumble in Sunday's 27-12 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Chase made up for a first-quarter fumble by capitalizing on a blown coverage for an easy five-yard touchdown in the third. He led the Bengals in targets and catches but finished a distant third behind Tyler Boyd (105) and Tee Higgins (93) in receiving yards, as rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner did a decent job of keeping Chase in check. Another tough cornerback awaits Chase in Week 4, as Xavien Howard will be tasked with slowing down the star wide receiver when the Bengals host the Dolphins on Thursday.
Sep 18, 2022
Five grabs in loss to Dallas
Chase caught five of nine targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
He also gained four yards on one carry. Chase was matched up against Trevon Diggs most of the day, although Joe Burrow's lack of time in the pocket was likely the bigger factor in Chase's relatively quiet performance. The second-year wideout will look to bounce back in Week 3 against a seemingly vulnerable Jets secondary that just surrendered a 9-101-1 line to Amari Cooper after giving up three TDs to Baltimore wide receivers in its opener.
Sep 11, 2022
Big game in Week 1 loss
Chase caught 10 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown on 16 targets against Pittsburgh on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
It was a difficult and painful game for Joe Burrow, who played less than great in turbulent conditions, but Chase's star talent still wasn't contained, even in an otherwise strong showing by the Pittsburgh defense. Granted, Chase's target volume was inflated slightly due to Tee Higgins suffering a concussion early in the game, but it's still encouraging to see Chase post such strong fantasy production in a game as ugly as this one. It also must be noted that Chase nearly had a superhuman second touchdown catch on the right side of the end zone but just narrowly landed part of his foot out of bounds. Hopefully Higgins is recovered and cleared in advance of Cincinnati's Week 2 matchup with Dallas, but Chase projects for a nice game either way.
Aug 21, 2022
Not likely to play Sunday
With Geoff Hobson of the team's official site indicating that Bengals are not in line to play key starters in Sunday's preseason game against the Giants, Chase appears on track to sit out the contest.
ANALYSIS
Chase also sat out Cincinnati's preseason opener, and it's unclear if the coaching staff intends to give the wideout any snaps in the team's preseason finale next weekend against the Rams. Either way, once the games count, Chase is slated to head a Bengals wideout corps that also features Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd,

Eyeing competition to 2,000 yards
Chase joked Wednesday that he hopes former college teammate Justin Jefferson doesn't beat him to 2,000 yards, Geoff Hobson of the Bengals' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
No player has ever hit 2,000 receiving yards in a season, though Cooper Kupp came close in the first year with a 17-game schedule (1,947). It won't be too surprising if someone does it in the next few years, with Chase, Jefferson and Kupp being the prime candidates. They're also the consensus first-round picks among wide receivers, with many drafts featuring all three in the top five. Chase turned 128 targets into 1,455 yards and 13 TDs as a rookie, later adding 368 more yards and another TD on 35 targets in four playoff games. Even if there's some efficiency regression, Chase has room to add more volume in his second pro season.
Feb 13, 2022
Solid in Super Bowl loss
Chase recorded five receptions on eight targets for 89 yards in Sunday's 23-20 Super Bowl LVI loss to the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Chase was overshadowed by Tee Higgins' two-touchdown performance, though he still delivered explosive plays of his own. He set up Cincinnati's first points of the game when he hauled in a 46-yard reception after beating Jalen Ramsey down the right sideline. Chase also added a 17-yard catch on the final drive of the game as the team was pushing down the field in an effort to attempt a game-tying field goal. Despite the disappointing loss, Chase was excellent throughout the postseason by topping 100 yards twice and posting five gains of 20 or more yards across four contests. He'll head into his second season as the primary big-play threat in the Bengals' offense while working opposite Higgins.
Jan 30, 2022
Grabs touchdown
Chase recorded six receptions on nine targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-24 win over Kansas City in the AFC Championship Game.
ANALYSIS
Chase was blanketed throughout the day and was unable to find much room for big gains. However, he still managed a 22-yard reception to help set up a field goal early in the third quarter. He followed that up with a two-yard touchdown reception one possession later, winning a jump ball in the back corner of the end zone. Chase is sure to once again be the focal point of either the Rams' or 49ers' defense in the Super Bowl, but he has either 100 receiving yards or a touchdown in all three of Cincinnati's postseason wins.
Jan 22, 2022
Explosive in victory
Chase recorded five receptions on six targets for 109 yards in Saturday's 19-16 divisional-round win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
The Titans were focused on slowing Chase, and that showed in his relatively limited target volume. However, he made the most of each of his opportunities to post another big stat line. His performance began with a 57-yard gain midway through the first quarter on a catch at the line of scrimmage that he quickly turned upfield while evading several defenders. Chase also set up the game-winning field goal with a 19-yard reception with only 20 seconds remaining in the game. He'll head into the AFC Championship Game having topped 100 receiving yards in each of his last four full contests.
Jan 15, 2022
Dominant playoff debut
Chase caught nine passes for 116 yards on 12 targets and ran for 23 yards on three carries against Las Vegas on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Be it the regular season or playoffs, Chase has proven himself a uniquely productive player who holds top-shelf fantasy value. Chase was heavily involved early for Cincinnati and spearheaded their initial offensive attack in a game the Bengals went on to win 26-19. Tee Higgins (one 10-yard catch on four targets) will normally claim a bigger share of the Cincinnati passing game than he did against the Raiders, but both players have shown the ability to shine when the spotlight lands on them.
Jan 9, 2022
Sets franchise record in cameo
Chase brought in two of four targets for 26 yards in the Bengals' 21-16 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The star rookie was in there for limited snaps as expected, but he did get more than the 12 yards he needed to set the rookie franchise record in that category. Chase was able to get some good work in before the postseason while working with backup quarterback Brandon Allen, and he'll now look ahead to keeping his connection with Joe Burrow (knee) as incandescently hot as it was to wrap up the regular season.
Jan 9, 2022
Active Sunday, may see light snaps
Chase is active for Sunday's game against the Browns, though he's not expected to see his usual snap count in the contest, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Zac Taylor suggested earlier this week that Chase could be a candidate to sit out the regular-season finale for rest purposes, as the Bengals have little at stake Week 18 in terms of playoff positioning and would ideally escape the contest without any injuries to key players heading into the postseason. To that end, Joe Burrow (knee/rest), Joe Mixon (reserve/COVID-19 list) and Tee Higgins (coach's decision) are all sitting out Week 18, but Chase will at least dress for the contest. However, the Bengals may be looking to limit his workload, with Baby noting that Chase enters the contest just 12 receiving yards shy of the single-season franchise record. It wouldn't be surprising if the Bengals attempted to give Chase the opportunity to set the record early in the game before keeping him on the sideline the rest of the day.
Jan 5, 2022
May play some this week
Coach Zac Taylor said Chase "potentially" could play in Sunday's game against Cleveland, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
With QB Joe Burrow already reported to be sitting out, there's a good chance Chase plays less than a full game if he even suits up at all. He already has the rookie record for receiving yards (1,428) thanks to his 11-266-3 line in the Week 17 win over Kansas City.
Jan 2, 2022
Sets rookie receiving record in win
Chase caught 11 of 12 targets for 266 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Chase made a move in space and outran the whole Chiefs defense for a 72-yard touchdown late in the first quarter, then scored again from 18 yards out in the second by easily outmuscling a defender in the end zone. He completed the touchdown hat trick with a 69-yard burst down the sideline early in the third quarter, and while Chase didn't get back into the end zone after that, he continued to play a major part in Cincinnati's comeback from a 28-17 halftime hole. Chase finished with the single-game rookie record for receiving yards, topping 200 for the second time in his sensational rookie season. The first-round pick out of LSU has 13 touchdowns heading into the regular-season finale in Cleveland.
Dec 26, 2021
Goes over 120 yards
Chase caught seven passes for 125 yards on 10 targets against Baltimore on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Chase no doubt benefited from the injuries to the Baltimore secondary, but this is a still a strong output by any standard and puts him back on track for a good finish to a rookie season that has been spectacular overall, even despite some bumps in the road. At worst this was a good tune-up showing for Chase as the Bengals prepare to face a tougher Chiefs defense in Week 17.
Dec 19, 2021
Ineffective against Denver
Chase recorded one reception on four targets for three yards in Sunday's 15-10 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
This matchup was a defensive struggle from start to finish, but even given that context Chase posted a disappointing line. Volume was down for nearly every Cincinnati receiver, but Chase's inability to break free for big gains -- a skill that was the key to his early season production -- remains a concern. Across his last seven games, he's managed only two receptions of at least 20 yards. In that same span, he's averaged only 3.7 receptions and 40.6 receiving yards per game.
Dec 12, 2021
Scores twice against Niners
Chase caught five of eight targets for 77 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
The rookie was a key figure in the game even getting to OT. With the Bengals in a 20-6 hole to begin the fourth quarter, Chase got to work and hauled in TD strikes of 17 and 32 yards from Joe Burrow. It's the second two-touchdown performance of the season for Chase, who now has an amazing 10 TDs through his first 13 NFL games in addition to reaching the 1,000-yard mark. He'll look to keep rolling in Week 15 against the Broncos.
Dec 5, 2021
Five catches in loss
Chase secured five of eight targets for 52 yards in the Bengals' 41-22 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Chase saw fellow wideouts Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd outshine him on the afternoon, but he still put together a solid fantasy performance, especially from a PPR perspective. The standout rookie is in a bit of a slump since a stellar 8-201-1 effort against the Ravens in Week 7, posting no more than six receptions or Sunday's 52 receiving yards since that game. His next opportunity to bump up his production comes in a Week 14 home battle against the 49ers.
Nov 28, 2021
Falls victim to game script
Chase caught all three of his targets for 39 yards in Sunday's 41-10 blowout win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals went up big in the first half on the backs of Joe Mixon (165 yards and two touchdowns) and a dominant defensive performance (interception return for a touchdown). When Joe Burrow was asked to drop back and pass, he favored Tee Higgins (six receptions for 114 yards and a score) on the side of the field that star defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick wasn't operating in. Chase has seen his production dip over the last four contests as defenses appear to be focusing more on the breakout star (38 yards per game over that span). Cincinnati may need to utilize its top receiving option more heavily in an upcoming matchup against the Chargers' high-powered offense next Sunday.
Nov 21, 2021
Makes low volume count Sunday
Chase caught three of six targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 32-13 win over the Raiders. He also gained eight rushing yards on two carries.
ANALYSIS
The six targets were the fewest Chase has seen since Week 3 while the 40 scrimmage yards were a season low, but the rookie wideout stayed productive by hauling in a six-yard score from Joe Burrow in the fourth quarter as the Bengals pulled away. Chase has eight TDs through his first 10 NFL games while inching closer to 1,000 receiving yards, and he could pad those numbers significantly in Week 12 against a Steelers defense he torched for two touchdowns in their first meeting this year.
Nov 7, 2021
Does little with 13 targets
Chase caught six of 13 targets for 49 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's 41-16 loss to Cleveland. He also rushed twice for no gain.
ANALYSIS
Chase was the intended receiver on a Joe Burrow pass that was returned for a 99-yard interception touchdown to end a promising Bengals opening drive, then the rookie wide receiver fumbled in the second quarter. He also had a ball go through his hands in the end zone in the third quarter, as some of the drops Chase struggled with in the preseason have begun to resurface. After eclipsing 50 receiving yards in each of his first seven games, Chase has failed to reach that mark in either of the last two, but the Bengals' Week 10 bye will give the standout rookie an opportunity to hit the reset button.
Oct 31, 2021
Quiet outside of short TD
Chase caught three of eight targets for 32 yards and a touchdown while adding nine yards on one rushing attempt in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Chase has done most of his scoring from distance, but he showed he can be an effective red-zone weapon as well with a two-yard touchdown in the second quarter. That was his seventh touchdown in eight games, as the rookie fifth-overall pick has lived up to his draft-day billing and then some. The underrated Jets secondary kept Chase to under 50 receiving yards for the first time in his career, but he'll have a WR1 ceiling in all formats in Week 9 against the Browns.
Oct 24, 2021
Explodes for 201 yards
Chase had eight receptions (10 targets) for 201 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 41-17 rout of the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Chase was already on the way to a big receiving day before Joe Burrow dialed up his favorite receiver for an 82-yard touchdown late in the third quarter. The budding star wideout continues to dazzle in his rookie campaign, bringing his season totals up to 35 receptions, 754 yards and six scores through seven contests. If that wasn't impressive enough, Chase's mark of 21.5 yards per catch ranks second in the league, trailing only the Raiders' Henry Ruggs. Fantasy managers should continue riding the gravy train into MetLife Stadium when Chase and the Bengals take on the Jets next Sunday.
Oct 17, 2021
Just misses century mark in win
Chase brought in four of six targets for 97 yards in the Bengals' 34-11 win over the Lions on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Chase's yardage total led the Bengals' pass catchers, with a game-high 53-yard grab playing a big part. The dynamic rookie also shared the team lead in targets, but the downturn in that category was a mild disappointment after Chase had logged 19 total looks over the previous two games. Despite falling just short of his third 100-yard effort, the first-round pick will have no shortage of appeal going into a Week 7 road showdown against the Ravens.
Oct 10, 2021
Scores while topping 150 yards
Chase caught six of 10 targets for 159 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-22 overtime loss to the Packers.
ANALYSIS
Chase continued his sensational start to his NFL career with his best performance yet. This year's fifth pick had a drop early but compensated with an impressive 70-yard touchdown catch off a scramble drill just before halftime, again showing his unique chemistry with quarterback Joe Burrow. That play gave Chase five scores through as many games as a pro, including four of 30-plus yards. The 21-year-old star then made an acrobatic catch along the sideline to help set up Cincinnati's chance to win the game in overtime, surpassing the 150-yard mark in the process. Although his team ultimately endured an epically wacky defeat, Chase is flying high ahead of Week 6's matchup against the winless Lions.
Oct 1, 2021
Solid showing in close win
Chase secured six of nine targets for 77 yards in the Bengals' 24-21 win over the Jaguars on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Chase checked in second in receiving yards and targets to Tyler Boyd, and he recorded a game-high 44-yard grab on the opening drive of the third quarter to help ignite the Bengals' comeback. The rookie continued to quickly re-cultivate the connection he had with college teammate Joe Burrow, as Chase's reception and target tallies were both new high-water marks, and he'll look to continue with a similar level of involvement in a Week 5 showdown against the Packers a week from Sunday, even if Tee Higgins is back from his shoulder injury in that contest.
Sep 26, 2021
Four TDs through three games
Chase caught four of five targets for 65 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 24-10 win over Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
Chase found the end zone from 34 yards out with 37 seconds left in the first half on a play reminiscent of his Week 1 touchdown against Minnesota, which also came in the final minute before halftime. The rookie fifth-overall pick scored again from nine yards out in the third quarter, giving him four touchdowns in his first three NFL games. With Chase and Joe Burrow having reignited the chemistry from their days together at LSU, the rookie receiver will be an appetizing fantasy play against the Jaguars on Thursday.
Sep 19, 2021
Scores another TD
Chase caught two of his four targets for 54 yards and a TD in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Meanwhile, fellow WR Tee Higgins caught six of his team-high 10 targets for 60 yards and a TD and slot man Tyler Boyd hauled in seven of his nine targets for 73 yards. Chase's 42-yard TD saved his day from a fantasy perspective, but the rookie's volume took a dip Sunday after he caught five of seven targets for 101 yards and a TD in his regular-season debut last weekend. The LSU product will look to carve out a bigger target share in Week 3, when the Bengals travel to Pittsburgh.
Sep 12, 2021
Leading receiver in terrific debut
Chase caught five of seven targets for 101 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-24 overtime win over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Chase had an underwhelming camp, but the rookie fifth-overall pick stepped his game up in his NFL debut, bursting by the defender on a go route for a 50-yard touchdown in the final minute of the first half. He finished as the team leader in catches, targets and receiving yards. Chase's chemistry with quarterback Joe Burrow dates back to their days together at LSU, and the electric rookie will look to build on this strong first impression in Week 2 against Chicago.
Aug 29, 2021
Drops only target
Chase failed to bring in his only target during the Bengals' 29-26 preseason loss to the Dolphins on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports Chase couldn't secure a bubble screen from Joe Burrow on the team's first drive, with the ball bouncing right off his hands. It was an extension of a troublesome trend for the rookie first-round pick, who was charged with three drops in preseason Week 2 against Washington and then put in extra pass-catching reps during the practice week. Baby separately reports Burrow publicly proclaims to be unconcerned about Chase's exhibition struggles, adding "he'll be ready to go Week 1" when asked about his old college teammate. Chase will have a chance to prove his quarterback right when he and the Bengals face the Vikings in the regular-season opener Sunday, Sept. 12.
Aug 25, 2021
Putting in extra work
Chase has been putting in extra work in reaction to Friday's preseason game, where he dropped three catchable balls, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase went in and worked with receivers coach Troy Walters on Saturday's off-day, and then turned in a big practice on Monday. With Joe Burrow playing in this weekend's preseason finale, Chase should get extra work in that game as well.
Aug 21, 2021
Struggles in second preseason game
Chase failed to record a reception on three targets in Friday's preseason game against Washington.
ANALYSIS
All three targets hit Chase in the hands, and two of his targets should have been converted to catches on a fairly routine basis. While it's not the performance Chase desired, he'll continue to get plenty of opportunities after being selected fifth overall by the Bengals in the 2021 draft. Chase's college production indicates that he has the talent to excel in the pros, though his inconsistency could lead to a slow start to his rookie campaign. This falls in line with earlier reports from training camp, which suggested that Chase had struggled to both create separation and consistently catch the ball in practice.
Aug 15, 2021
Makes first grab as Bengal
Chase caught his only target for 16 yards in Saturday's preseason win over the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
The fifth overall pick in the 2021 draft hauled in a strike from Brandon Allen on the Bengals' first possession before quickly calling it a night. Expectations are high for Chase this season in no small part due to his familiarity with Joe Burrow -- who didn't play Saturday -- from their time together at LSU, but with the second-year QB unlikely to see extensive preseason action, it might not be until Week 1 that the duo gets to really flash their chemistry.
Aug 10, 2021
Rookie adjustments
Chase is still "... fighting the rookie learning curve ..." in camp, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Chase drew raves from previous minicamps, but lining up against Chidobe Awuzie has proven to be a struggle in training camp, as Chase has struggled to create separation and has had his share of drops to boot. It's not all negative with Chase, but you might want to temper your early-season expectations.
Jul 24, 2021
Impressive separation
Chase impressed the Bengals with his ability to gain separation in summer workouts, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Teammate Joe Burrow extolled Chase's abilities, reminding everyone how well they worked together at LSU. "Everybody's been surprised by how smart he was," said Burrow. "I told everyone coming in, 'He's not going to bust, he's going to know exactly what to do, he's going to be a pro.' And that's exactly what's happened." We'll see how quickly that translates against opposing teams, and there's still the concern about how many targets Chase will get with both Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd also on the field.
