Keep up with the latest injuries from the Bills vs Texans game on Thursday with our National Football League injury report.Nov 16, 2025
All-time performance in win
Allen completed 19 of 30 passes for 317 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions while adding six carries for 40 yards and three more scores in the Bills' 44-32 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
As his final line implies, Allen was absolutely dominant in the wild high-scoring victory, one that saw him post his highest passing yardage total since Week 1 while scoring a career-high six touchdowns. Allen struck from 43 yards (Tyrell Shavers), 52 yards (Ty Johnson) and 25 yards (James Cook) through the air, while adding scoring runs of two, five and nine yards, the latter two providing the final points of the afternoon. Allen's mustered at least 273 passing yards in three straight contests heading into a tough Week 12 Thursday night matchup against a stingy Texans defense.

Chased by Dolphins in loss
Allen completed 28 of 40 passes for 306 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and added four rushes for 31 yards in the Bills' 30-13 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Allen took three sacks and was unofficially hit an additional four times, helping make his yardage total a bit empty from a real-world football perspective. The Bills were unexpectedly forced into a pass-heavy game script after heading into the halftime locker room down by a 16-0 margin, leading Allen to his highest passing yardage total since Week 1. Allen did toss multiple touchdowns for the first time in three games by connecting with Keon Coleman and Jackson Hawes for scoring strikes of 35 and 26 yards, respectively, and he'll aim to take out his frustration on the Buccaneers defense in a Week 11 home matchup next Sunday.
Nov 2, 2025
Another three-score day Sunday
Allen completed 23 of 26 pass attempts for 273 yards and a touchdown while taking six carries for 19 yards and two more scores in Sunday's 28-21 win over Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Allen turned in a similar results in the box score to last week's three-score showing against the Panthers, when he threw for a touchdown while cashing in two more from in close with his legs. Unlike his last outing, the 29-year-old was more involved as a passer in Sunday's statement win, finishing with his second-highest yardage total this season while out-dueling Patrick Mahomes in the process. Allen has seen his passing volume take a hit in 2025 as the Bills feature a more run-heavy offense. His current pace projects 3,895 passing yards, which would result in consecutive seasons finishing below 4,000 yards for the first time since his first two years in the league. Allen has helped offset his more timid presence in the pocket with a whopping seven rushing scores in eight appearances. Look for the good times to continue rolling for Allen in a soft matchup against the Dolphins next Sunday.

Rings up three TDs in win
Allen completed 12 of 19 passes for 163 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions while adding three rushes for seven yards and another two scores in the Bills' 40-9 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Allen's modest passing numbers were a direct byproduct of how the game unfolded, as the Bills ultimately didn't need to put to much on the shoulders of their MVP. James Cook and the defense helped ensure a relatively easy day at the office for Allen with their exploits, but the star signal-caller still delivered for fantasy managers via a 54-yard touchdown pass to Khalil Shakir early in the third quarter, as well as a pair of one-yard scoring runs in the second and third quarters. Allen has multiple touchdowns in all but one game heading into a Week 9 home showdown with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs next Sunday afternoon.

Rough night in Week 6 loss
Allen completed 15 of 26 passes for 180 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions and rushed six times for 42 yards in the Bills' 24-14 loss to the Falcons on Monday night. He also committed two fumbles, neither which were lost.
ANALYSIS
Allen's final line tells the tale of a difficult night against a well-rested and aggressive Falcons defense fueled by its home crowd. Despite his signature mobility, Allen was brought down four times, and he also tossed multiple interceptions for the first time this season, including a game-sealing pick at Atlanta's seven-yard line with 51 seconds remaining. The reigning NFL MVP's yardage total was also his second lowest of the season, and the fact he went into the contest without Dalton Kincaid (oblique) and Curtis Samuel (neck, ribs) before also losing Joshua Palmer to an ankle injury in the first half certainly didn't help Allen's cause. Buffalo now gets a much-needed bye following back-to-back losses, before returning to action against the Panthers in Carolina on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Tops 300 total yards in loss
Allen completed 22 of 31 passes for 253 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Patriots. He added nine rushes for 53 yards, while also losing a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Allen had an up-and-down showing, with his biggest mistake coming on an interception late in the third quarter that allowed New England to build a 10-point lead. He still had plenty of excellent stretches in the game, including completing five passes of at least 20 yards while delivering touchdowns of six and two yards. As is typically the case, Allen chipped in extra production on the ground, with a 19-yard scramble helping him top 50 rushing yards for the second time on the campaign. While it wasn't Allen's most prolific showing, he continues to deliver a very safe fantasy floor.
Sep 28, 2025
Helps avert upset with three TDs
Allen completed 16 of 22 passes for 209 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while rushing seven times for 45 yards and another score in the Bills' 31-19 win over the Saints on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The Bills got more than they bargained for from the visiting Saints, but Allen still finished with his lowest pass-attempt total of the campaign. The reigning NFL MVP did put those throws to good use, tossing multiple touchdowns for the third time in four games by connecting with Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid for scoring passes of 43 and 28 yards, respectively. Allen also took it in himself from five yards out just after the halfway point of the third quarter, already his third rush TD of the season. Allen takes an impressive 70.2 percent completion rate and 7:1 TD:INT into a Week 5 divisional home clash against the Patriots next Sunday night.
Sep 18, 2025
Highly efficient in Week 3 win
Allen completed 22 of 28 passes for 213 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions while adding four rushes for 25 yards in the Bills' 31-21 win over the Dolphins on Thursday night. He also fumbled once but recovered.
ANALYSIS
Allen finished with a sparkling 134.1 QB rating in the divisional win, which may have been more tightly contested than initially expected. As a result, the star signal-caller was appreciably more involved through the air than during a comfortable Week 2 win against the Jets, completing passes to nine different targets overall. Allen's first two scoring tosses went to tight ends Dalton Kincaid (20 yards) and Jackson Hawes (five yards), the latter a nifty heave while on the run. Allen closed out his night with a 15-yard strike to Khalil Shakir midway through the fourth quarter to snap a 21-21 tie, and he'll head into a Week 4 home date against the Saints on Sunday, Sept. 28 with an unblemished 5:0 TD:INT and career-best 69.7 percent completion rate through his first three contests.
Sep 14, 2025
Takes back seat in Week 2 win
Allen completed 14 of 25 passes for 148 yards and rushed six times for 59 yards in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Allen came out for the final two plays of the first quarter but returned to start the second quarter with gauze in his nose. After putting the team on his back in Week 1 against the Ravens, Allen let his defense and running game do most of the work in this one before resting for the final two possessions as backup Mitchell Trubisky mopped up. With the Bills averaging 36.0 points per game heading into Thursday's home game against the Dolphins, Allen's ceiling remains sky-high, even if he doesn't always have to bring his A-game to win.
Sep 8, 2025
Four total TDs in Week 1 thriller
Allen completed 33 of 46 passes for 394 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 14 times for 30 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 41-40 win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Allen opened the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Kincaid on the opening drive, but the Ravens responded with a 20-3 run. Allen and the offense kept Buffalo within striking distance in the second half, and the dual-threat quarterback scored a two-yard rushing touchdown early in the fourth quarter, two plays after connecting with James Cook for a 51-yard gain through the air. That rushing score was the 66th of Allen's regular-season career, surpassing Thurman Thomas for the most in Bills history. Allen then tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Keon Coleman and added a one-yard rushing touchdown before guiding the offense in position for a game-winning field goal in the final seconds of a fourth quarter that featured 251 Allen passing yards, as the Bills played their best football down the stretch while the Ravens sputtered. With the other three AFC East teams all losing Sunday, the Bills already hold the division lead heading into a Week 2 road game against the Jets.

Won't play this preseason
Allen won't play in Saturday's preseason game against Tampa Bay, Chris Brown of the Bills Radio Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen will conclude the preseason without an appearance for the first time in his career, with the Bills prioritizing health over in-game reps ahead of a Week 1 home game against Baltimore. It's a tough matchup to open the season, but Allen's sterling track record of fantasy production outweighs any and all concerns about the opponent. He finished either first or second among QBs in fantasy points each of the past five seasons.
Aug 17, 2025
Unlikely to play Sunday
Allen is not warming up with Buffalo's quarterbacks and is unlikely to play during Sunday's preseason exhibition in Chicago, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen was throwing on the field during early pregame warmups, per Getzenberg, but he's not participating in his usual pregame throwing exercises with Buffalo's other quarterbacks. With their QB1 likely sidelined, No. 2 quarterback Mitchell Trubisky should be in line to start for the Bills against Chicago. The 29-year-old Allen signed a six-year, $330 million extension with the Bills this offseason, so it's unclear how much -- if at all -- he'll play during Buffalo's upcoming preseason finale against Tampa Bay on Saturday, Aug. 23.
Aug 7, 2025
Won't play Saturday
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Thursday that Allen will not suit up for Saturday's preseason opener against the Giants, Matt Parrino of The Syracuse Post-Standard reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen will rest Saturday while backup Mitchell Trubisky gets the start at quarterback, though McDermott said the rest of the starters will play roughly a quarter, per Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site. It remains to be seen how much action Allen, who signed a six-year, $330 million contract extension with Buffalo this offseason, will see in the team's two remaining preseason contests.

Signs record-setting deal with BUF
Allen and the Bills agreed on a six-year, $330 million contract that includes $250 million guaranteed Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen will receive a record-setting amount of guaranteed money fresh off of winning the NFL's Most Valuable Player award in 2024. The quarterback still had four years remaining on his prior contract, but Buffalo decided ink the new deal with their franchise superstar. Allen completed 64 percent of his passes for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns while also adding 531 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground over 17 regular-season games in 2024. Most notably perhaps was his amount of interceptions, getting picked off just six times, a new career low for the seven-year vet.
Feb 6, 2025
Awarded Most Valuable Player
Allen was named the 2024 NFL Most Valuable Player on Thursday, Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen narrowly edged out Lamar Jackson to win his first MVP award after an impressive 2024 campaign. The quarterback completed 64 percent of his passes for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns while throwing six interceptions over 17 regular-season games. Allen also added 531 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns throughout the year. He became the third player all-time to win MVP after not making first-team All-Pro and the first Bills player to win the award since Thurman Thomas in 1991.

Two TDs not enough in AFCCG loss
Allen completed 22 of 34 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 11 times for 39 yards in Sunday's 32-29 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
ANALYSIS
Allen threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Mack Hollins to cut Buffalo's deficit to 21-16 in the final minute of the first half, but the 237-pound quarterback was subsequently stuffed on a two-point conversion attempt. Allen missed another two-point conversion attempt after James Cook's one-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter and came up short on a fourth-and-1 rushing attempt in the fourth quarter but bounced back on the next drive with a four-yard touchdown pass to Curtis Samuel on fourth down to tie the game, 29-29. Buffalo got the ball back down 32-29 with 3:33 to play but promptly turned it over on downs after four Allen pass attempts on the Bills' final possession netted only five yards. Allen had another impressive regular season, compiling 28 passing touchdowns and 12 more with his legs, but he dropped to 0-4 against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the postseason, and this latest loss can be traced directly to Allen's inability to convert short-yardage opportunities with his legs after he had e

Wins clash of MVP candidates
Allen completed 16 of 22 passes for 127 yards while rushing 10 times for 20 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 27-25 AFC divisional-round win over the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Allen extended Buffalo's first drive with a seven-yard run on fourth-and-2 to set up Ray Davis' one-yard rushing touchdown run four plays later. The mobile quarterback was just getting started with his legs, as Allen scored rushing touchdowns of one yard and four yards in the second quarter, the latter of which was set up by a questionable pass interference call on Allen's former teammate Tre'Davious White. Baltimore dominated the third quarter to trim Buffalo's 11-point halftime lead to two, but the Bills tacked on a pair of field goals in the fourth, the second of which came after Allen was denied the hat trick by getting tackled at Baltimore's 2-yard line on back-to-back plays. That was just enough to hang on after the Ravens failed to convert what would have been a game-tying two-point conversion on their final drive. Buffalo's victory sets up an AFC Championship Game road game against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, against whom Allen's 0-3 in the playoffs.

Guides Buffalo into next round
Allen completed 20 of 26 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns while adding 46 rushing yards on eight carries in Sunday's 31-7 wild-card round win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
The Bills' defense were the true stars of the victory, completing shutting down the visitors after Denver scored a TD on its first possession, but Allen put the game away in the second half, connecting with Ty Johnson on a 24-yard score late in the third quarter and Curtis Samuel on a 55-yard touchdown early in the fourth. After putting together an MVP-caliber regular season, Allen is still firing on all cylinders heading into a divisional-round clash with the Ravens.

Will play limited snaps Week 18
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Allen will start Sunday's matchup versus New England but will be in the game for a "very, very short-lived amount of time," Ryan O'Halloran of The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bills are locked into the No. 2 playoff seed in the AFC, and the team plans to play only some of its starters, per O'Halloran. The motivation for Allen to see the field at all could be simply to extend his 104-game streak of regular-season starts, in which case the MVP candidate may log no more than a few snaps. It goes without saying that Allen isn't going to be a viable play in fantasy given the extremely limited amount of time he'll likely be on the field in the regular-season finale. Mitchell Trubisky figures to see most of the QB snaps for the Bills against the Patriots.
Dec 29, 2024
Three total TDs add to MVP case
Allen completed 16 of 27 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns while rushing five times for 17 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 40-14 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Allen capitalized on a defensive pass interference penalty in the end zone on Buffalo's opening drive, powering in a one-yard rushing score on the next play. Neither team scored another touchdown until Allen connected with Amari Cooper for a 30-yard touchdown in the third quarter. That touchdown pass brought Allen up to 40 total touchdowns for the fifth consecutive season (27 passing, 12 rushing and one receiving), and he tacked on his 28th passing score with a 14-yarder to Keon Coleman to put the Bills up 33-0 in the final seconds of the third quarter before letting Mitchell Trubisky mop up for the entire fourth quarter. Allen has started 104 consecutive regular-season games for the Bills, so it wouldn't be surprising if he made a brief cameo against the Patriots in Week 18 to extend that streak before the Bills rest him and the rest of the starters in preparation for the playoffs, as Buffalo's locked into the No. 2 seed in the AFC.
Dec 26, 2024
Logs full practice Thursday
Allen (right elbow/right shoulder) practiced fully Thursday.
ANALYSIS
After being listed as a full participant on Wednesday's practice estimate, Allen was able to maintain that level of activity in Thursday's session, paving the way for him to start Sunday's game against the Jets. Though the Chiefs have clinched the AFC's No. 1 playoff seed, the Bills can secure the No. 2 seed (and the option to rest starters in Week 18) with a win this weekend, Maddy Glab of the team's official site reports.
Dec 25, 2024
Estimated as full practice participant
Allen (right elbow/right shoulder) was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's practice estimate.
ANALYSIS
Allen's 'full' listing on Wednesday's practice estimate would seem to pave the way for the QB to be available Sunday against the Jets. That said, the outcome of Wednesday's Ravens/Texans game could affect how the Bills handle their key starters this coming weekend, given that a Baltimore loss would lock Buffalo into the No. 2 AFC playoff seed, per Alec White of the Bills' official site.
Dec 23, 2024
Says he'll be fine
Allen said during a postgame interview Sunday that his arm, which was bothering him for much of the second half, is fine after he suffered a right elbow contusion in a win over the Patriots, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen said that the way his elbow got hit caused him to lose feeling in his arm and throwing hand. "Just hit the funny bone nerve and went to throw the ball and just had no feeling in the hand. It took a good five to 10 minutes, so just making sure, trying to get some blood flow back in there, some activation." Allen never missed a play, and even though it may have looked worse than it really was with the quarterback constantly shaking his hand, he seemed to have avoided a serious injury. The bigger question for Allen's fantasy investors the rest of the way might be his usage, as the Bills could be locked into the No. 2 seed in the AFC in fairly short order, leaving them with little to play for against weak opponents in the Jets and Patriots.
Dec 22, 2024
Battles through hand injury
Allen (hand) completed 16 of 29 passes for 154 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Patriots. He added six rushes for 30 yards.
ANALYSIS
Allen lacked his typical explosive playmaking ability as he averaged just 5.3 yards per attempt and failed to account for multiple touchdowns in a game for the first time since Week 10. He particularly struggled to make deep connections with his pass catchers, as his longest completion went for only 17 yards -- most of which came after the catch. More concerning for the Bills was that Allen hit his throwing hand off a defender's helmet on a scramble in the third quarter, causing him to get up favoring the injury. He didn't miss a play, but it will be something worth monitoring during the week heading into a Week 17 matchup against the Jets.
Dec 18, 2024
No issue with shoulder
Allen isn't listed on Wednesday's injury report ahead of a home game against the Patriots on Sunday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen felt discomfort in his throwing shoulder during the second half of Sunday's 48-42 win over Detroit, but he never left the game and was still attempting passes with Buffalo nursing a lead in the final minutes. He's in the midst of one of the best stretches of fantasy production ever seen from a QB, with at least one rushing touchdown in five consecutive games and multiple TD passes in each of the last three. The Patriots are unlikely to keep pace with the Bills in a shootout the way the Rams and Lions did the past two weeks, but Allen is still the top fantasy option at his position even if he's unlikely to approach his enormous volume from the last two games (71 pass attempts, 21 rushes, 854 total yards, 10 TDs).
Dec 15, 2024
Another MVP-caliber performance
Allen completed 23 of 34 passes for 362 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed 11 times for 68 yards and another two scores in the Bills' 48-42 win over the Lions on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
One week after a record-setting six-touchdown performance, Allen and his juggernaut of an offense actually one-upped themselves in terms of total points. Allen himself fell short of his unforgettable Week 14 effort against the Rams, but he certainly only strengthened his MVP case with a mistake-free effort that featured a season-high passing yardage total and his third consecutive multi-touchdown-pass tally. Allen's work on the ground was no less impressive, and his one- and four-yard rushing scores in the first quarter were his fourth and fifth over the last pair of contests. Allen is up to 3,395 passing yards with a 25:5 TD:INT and 484 rushing yards alongside 11 rushing touchdowns heading into a Week 16 home divisional clash with the Patriots.
Dec 8, 2024
Historic showing in loss
Allen completed 22 of 37 passes for 342 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 44-42 loss to the Rams. He added 10 rushes for 82 yards and three more scores.
ANALYSIS
Allen had a prolific performance in the loss, accounting for all six of Buffalo's touchdowns on the day -- a pair of which came on 51 and 41-yard touchdown throws. He also completed a total of six passes that went for more than 20 yards, leading to his highest yardage total of the campaign and his second performance of more than 300 yards. Allen supplemented his work through the air by getting more aggressive with his legs, as his 82 yards on the ground were a season-high. He also has at least one rushing score in four straight contests. All told, Allen became the first NFL player to account for three passing and three rushing touchdowns, per NFL.com.
Dec 1, 2024
Passing, rushing and receiving TDs
Allen completed 13 of 17 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 35-10 win over the 49ers. He added three rushing attempts for 18 yards and a touchdown as well as a seven-yard receiving touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Allen wasn't asked to do much with his arm as the Bills rode their running game and defense in snowy conditions, but he still got in on the fun with a seven-yard touchdown pass to Mack Hollins in the final minute of the first half. That touchdown pass was the 245th of Allen's regular-season Bills career, surpassing Jim Kelly for the most in franchise history. His next touchdown pass in the third quarter was also a memorable one, as Allen threw a pass to Amari Cooper, who then latereled to Allen for what went down as both a passing score and a seven-yard receiving touchdown (but not a reception) for the quarterback. Allen added the cherry on top with an eight-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. He has 20 passing touchdowns, six rushing touchdowns and now one receiving touchdown as well heading into a Week 14 road game against the Rams.
Nov 17, 2024
Wins battle between star QBs
Allen completed 27 of 40 pass attempts for 262 yards, one touchdown and one interception while taking 12 carries for 55 yards and a rushing score in Sunday's 30-21 win over the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Allen came out of Sunday's marquee matchup between AFC contenders and superstar quarterbacks triumphant over Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. The feat is even more impressive when you consider that Allen received little help from the running game, finishing as the team's leading rusher in addition to his numbers as a passer. Allen has the Bills sitting comfortably atop the AFC East standings with a 9-2 record as the team heads into a Week 12 bye. Fantasy managers will have to play a backup or find a fill-in starter before Allen returns to action against San Francisco on Dec. 1.
Nov 10, 2024
Over 300 total yards in win
Allen completed 22 of 37 passes for 280 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions and added eight carries for 50 yards and a touchdown in the Bills' 30-20 win over the Colts on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Allen helped lead the Bills to 20 first-half points despite having one drive end on downs and a second in an interception, contributing a 13-yard scoring run late in the first half. The multi-threat signal-caller was playing short-handed considering both Amari Cooper and Keon Coleman were sidelined with wrist injuries and Dalton Kincaid exited the game with a knee injury as well. However, Allen still connected with seven different targets on his way to third tally of at least 280 passing yards in the last four contests. Allen did see his four-game streak of multiple touchdown passes snapped, but he'll nevertheless head into a Week 11 home showdown against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs with plenty of momentum.
Nov 3, 2024
Tosses three TDs in Week 9 win
Allen completed 25 of 39 passes for 235 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Dolphins. He added two rushing attempts for seven yards.
ANALYSIS
Allen thought he had a 21-yard rushing touchdown in the final minute of the first half, but it was brought back by a holding penalty, and the Bills had to settle for a field goal to take a 10-6 deficit into the locker room. Buffalo's offense came alive in the third quarter, as Allen threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Mack Hollins on fourth down, then added a 63-yard touchdown pass to Ray Davis and two-point conversion to Keon Coleman on the following drive. Allen's hot second half continued with a go-ahead two-yard touchdown pass to Quintin Morris in the fourth quarter, and Buffalo's offense did just enough to get in range for Tyler Bass's game-winning 61-yard field goal in the final seconds. After going seven games without an interception to start the season, Allen has been picked off in back-to-back games, but he still boasts an impressive 17:2 TD:INT through the air heading into a Week 10 trip to Indianapolis.
Oct 27, 2024
Goes over 300 total yards Sunday
Allen completed 24 of 34 pass attempts for 283 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while rushing seven times for 25 yards in Sunday's 31-10 win over Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Allen stayed hot with his third two touchdown performance in as many weeks. The talented quarterback did throw his first interception of the campaign in the win, but fantasy managers can look past that with his success in recent box scores. Allen remains a high-end option in fantasy heading into a Week 9 matchup against the Dolphins next Sunday.
Oct 20, 2024
Shreds Titans' secondary
Allen completed 21 of 33 passes for 323 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 34-10 win over the Titans. He added three rushes for one additional yard.
ANALYSIS
The addition of Amari Cooper combined with a beat-up Tennessee secondary led to good things for Allen, as he averaged 9.8 yards per attempt. That included six completions of at least 20 yards -- his highest mark of the season -- and a pair of touchdown tosses that came from 12 and four yards away. The only negative from Allen's performance was his work on the ground, as he's now been held below 25 rushing yards in four of seven contests this season. Overall, it was a strong performance in a new-look offense, offering some hope that we'll see a more prolific passing attack from Buffalo moving forward.
Oct 14, 2024
Three touchdowns on MNF
Allen completed 19 of 25 pass attempts for 215 yards and two touchdowns while rushing nine times for 18 yards and a third touchdown in Monday's 23-20 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
Allen was coming off of his worst game of the season before clearing both injury and performance concerns in one fell swoop with Monday's three-score effort. The 28-year-old is sporting a sparkling 10:0 TD:INT ratio while adding two rushing scores through six games. Any concerns from last week's dud should be washed away heading into a Week 7 matchup against the Titans.
Oct 7, 2024
Less than 100 percent
Allen was cleared from a concussion during Sunday's loss to the Texans, but he admitted after the game he was in some pain. "Big shot to the chest. Rolled my ankle. They flagged me for hitting my head, but felt good enough to go back in," Jonathan Acosta of WGRZ reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen hit the turf so hard that it was almost a surprise he didn't suffer a worse head injury, though it -- as well as his ankle and chest pain -- will still be worth monitoring throughout the week as the Bills prepare for a Monday Night Football showdown against the Jets. Allen clearly struggled throughout this game, hitting on just nine of 30 pass attempts. If there's a bright side, it's that Allen is the NFL's only quarterback to throw more than 100 passes this season without a pick.
Oct 6, 2024
Inaccurate in Week 5 loss
Allen completed nine of 30 passes for 131 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Texans. He added four rushing attempts for 54 yards.
ANALYSIS
Allen was atrocious in the first half, completing only six of 18 pass attempts for 56 yards as the Bills took a 17-3 deficit into the locker room. Buffalo's offense came alive in the third quarter, spurred on by a 49-yard touchdown pass from Allen to rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman, but Allen's accuracy dipped again in the fourth as the Bills dropped to 3-2. Allen was evaluated for a head injury in the blue medical tent after a hard fall in the fourth quarter, per Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News, and subsequently missed one play before returning to the game, but he's expected to be available as usual against the Jets on Monday Night Football in Week 6.
Oct 2, 2024
No limitations in practice
Allen (back) was a full practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Allen dealt with soreness after Sunday's loss at Baltimore but doesn't have any limitations at practice three days later. He'll be good to go this Sunday, drawing another matchup against an AFC heavyweight on the road -- this time in Houston.
Oct 2, 2024
Banged up following Week 4
Allen took a big hit to his back in Sunday's loss to the Ravens, but coach Sean McDermott said Tuesday that his quarterback is "sore" but "should be fine," Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bills tried a trick play when they were attempting to mount a comeback in the games the Ravens were dominating, and it almost ended up costing them more than any chance of staying in the contest. We'll see if Allen is limited during any portion of the week, but there's almost no chance he misses Sunday's game against the Texans and ex-teammate Stefon Diggs.

Momentum halted in Week 4 loss
Allen completed 16 of 29 passes for 180 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 35-10 loss to the Ravens. He added five rushing attempts for 21 yards and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Allen completed just nine of 16 passes for 42 yards in the first half as the Bills took a 21-3 deficit into the locker room. He got Buffalo back in it with a 52-yard heave downfield to Khalil Shakir to set up a Ty Johnson touchdown in the third quarter, but Allen lost a fumble on the next drive as a trick play went wrong and the Ravens pulled away. Allen was looked at by trainers after taking a big hit on the fumble, per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com, but he stayed in the game without missing a play before the Bills waved the white flag by inserting Mitchell Trubisky under center for their last two drives. That fumble was Allen's first turnover of the season against nine total touchdowns, so the star quarterback has a good chance of bouncing back from this speed bump in Week 5 against the Texans.

Throws four first-half TDs on MNF
Allen completed 23 of 30 passes for 263 yards and four touchdowns in Monday's 47-10 win over the Jaguars. He added six rushing attempts for 44 yards.
ANALYSIS
Allen tossed a six-yard touchdown pass to tight end Dalton Kincaid in the first quarter before adding three touchdown passes in the second: 24 and 27 yards to wide receivers Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir, then 16 yards to Ty Johnson. Buffalo didn't need to lean much on Allen's arm in the second half after taking a 34-3 lead into the locker room, and backup Mitchell Trubisky got in for some mop-up duty in the fourth quarter. Allen also led the team in rushing yards for good measure. The star quarterback has had no trouble adjusting to the offseason trade of No. 1 wide receiver Stefon Diggs, as Allen has a 7:0 TD:INT as a passer, plus two rushing touchdowns heading into a marquee Week 4 matchup against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens on SNF.
Sep 12, 2024
Efficient in big road win
Allen completed 13 of 19 passes for 139 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions while adding two carries for two yards in the Bills' 31-10 win over the Dolphins on Thursday night. He also fumbled once but recovered.
ANALYSIS
As the combination of Allen's final line and the final score implies, the star signal-caller didn't have to do much to ensure a comfortable victory for Buffalo. James Cook and the defense did a lot of the heavy lifting for the Bills, although Allen had a hand in Cook's first of three touchdowns on the night by connecting with him on a 17-yard scoring pass in the first quarter. Otherwise, Allen focused almost all his attention on Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid, who were on the receiving end of nine of the quarterback's completions and 87 of his passing yards. Allen could be pressed to do more in a Week 3 Monday night home matchup against the Jaguars on Sept. 23.

Cleared to play Thursday, practice
Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Allen (hand) has been cleared to practice and suit up for Thursday's matchup against the Dolphins, Ryan O'Halloran of The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen injured his left, non-throwing hand while making a leaping rushing touchdown during Sunday's win over the Cardinals, and the issue won't impact his ability to get on the field Week 2. The star quarterback got off to a slow start Week 1 against Arizona, even losing a fumble on Buffalo's first drive, but he ended the day with two touchdown passes to Mack Hollins and Khalil Shakir, in addition to two rushing scores of his own. Allen will look to remain sharp while adjusting to his new group of skill-position players during Thursday's road divisional matchup.
Sep 9, 2024
Not worried about hand injury
Allen (hand) said after Sunday's 34-28 win over the Cardinals that his left hand is "fine," but that he's scheduled to undergo further tests, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen landed hard on his non-throwing hand during the fourth quarter of Sunday's narrow win over Arizona. Though the star quarterback downplayed his level of concern, the injury should be closely monitored with Buffalo scheduled for only a few days rest prior to taking on the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football in Week 2. The Bills will release an official injury report Monday, and the team should also announce the results of Allen's medical tests soon. Mitchell Trubisky is healthy and ready to step up as the top backup to Allen, should the starting quarterback need to take some reps off during practice.
Sep 8, 2024
Two rushing TDs, two passing TDs
Allen completed 18 of 23 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns while rushing nine times for 39 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 34-28 win over the Cardinals. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
After losing a fumble on Buffalo's first drive, Allen had a would-be four-yard rushing touchdown erased by an offensive facemask penalty in the second quarter but scored one that counted from seven yards out in the final minute of the first half. He then threw 11-yard touchdown passes to Mack Hollins and Khalil Shakir in the third quarter to give the Bills their first lead of the season before extending the lead with a six-yard rushing score in the fourth. Allen had his left hand/wrist looked at in the fourth quarter, per Ryan O'Halloran of The Buffalo News, but he stayed in the game and looked no worse for wear. One day after the daughter of the Bills team owners, Jessica Pegula, lost in the U.S. Open final, Allen gave the Pegula family something to celebrate, leading the Bills to a 1-0 record heading into Thursday's game in Miami.

Won't play in preseason finale
Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Allen and the starting team will not suit up for Saturday's preseason finale against the Panthers, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen also sat out last weekend's 9-3 exhibition win over the Steeler, though McDermott initially said the plan for that game was for starters to play a quarter and a half. Now, McDermott says plans have changed due to teamwide injury considerations. Allen remains at 100 percent form and has avoided injuries throughout training camp, but wide receiver Curtis Samuel (turf toe) is considered week-to-week and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (neck) could miss multiple weeks, so it makes sense for Buffalo to prioritize health at this stage.
Aug 17, 2024
Sits Saturday
Allen did not participate in Saturday's 9-3 preseason win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Allen was set to play well into the second quarter along with the entire starting offense. While most of the unit did take the field, Allen remained on the sideline in a ball cap with no pads. No official reason was given, but Buffalo likely pivoted its plans due to wet field conditions after rain came through Pittsburgh just before kickoff. As one of the most proven quarterbacks in the league, Allen doesn't necessarily need to appear in preseason action, though he does have a remade receiving corps. That could mean that he plays at least a few possessions in the team's final preseason contest next Saturday against Carolina.
Aug 16, 2024
To play a quarter and a half
The Bills plan to play Allen and the starting offense for roughly a quarter and a half during Saturday's preseason matchup against the Steelers, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen played the first quarter of last week's exhibition matchup against the Bears, in which he completed two of three passes for 22 yards and rushed once for seven yards. The star quarterback looks set for a slight uptick in on-field reps Saturday, and that could increase further during Buffalo's preseason finale against the Panthers on Aug. 24. Allen is working to build chemistry with a revamped wide receiver corps headlined by rookie second-rounder Keon Coleman, incumbent Khalil Shakir, and Curtis Samuel.
Aug 10, 2024
Plays first quarter vs. Bears
Allen completed two of three passes for 22 yards and rushed once for seven yards in Saturday's 33-6 preseason loss to the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Allen played the first quarter, which consisted of one full drive and part of another possession for Buffalo's offense. His completions went to Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel, perhaps foreshadowing which wide receivers Allen will be relying on most following the offseason departure of Stefon Diggs. Rookie second-round pick Keon Coleman also mixed in with the first-team offense. Allen will look to keep building chemistry with Buffalo's new-look wide receiver room in next Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers.
Aug 8, 2024
Scheduled to play Saturday
Allen and other starters are scheduled to play for about a quarter in Saturday's preseason game against Chicago, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It'll be Allen's first chance in game setting to connect with new wide receivers Curtis Samuel and Keon Coleman, who join familiar faces Khalil Shakir and TE Dalton Kincaid as the probable top pass catchers under offensive coordinator Joe Brady. The Bills shifted toward more focus on the running game after Brady took over last November, but it worked out more than fine for Allen in fantasy because he got even more carries near the goal line than usual and scored eight rushing TDs in a five-game stretch Weeks 12-17. Combining his passing and rushing scores, Allen finished with 42-45 TDs each of the past four seasons,

Tweaking throwing motion
Allen is working on improving his throwing motion this offseason, ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen said the changes have felt really good at times and not so good at others. He injured his right shoulder Week 6 last season but still managed to play every game for a fifth straight year, and he confirmed in late January that he wouldn't need surgery. Some of what he's working on this offseason is returning to his pre-injury mechanics after the shoulder discomfort led to a lower, wider motion last year. The other big change will be his receiving corps, with Khalil Shakir the only WR on the roster that's ever caught a pass from Allen. The Bills parted ways with Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis this offseason and brought in Curtis Samuel, second-round pick Keon Coleman, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Chase Claypool and Mack Hollins. On the other hand, Allen and offensive coordinator Joe Brady will have continuity at running back (James Cook, Ty Johnson), tight end (Dalton Kincaid, Dawson Knox) and on the offensive line (four of five starters returning).
Jan 27, 2024
Shoulder in better place
Allen clarified during his season-ending press conference this week that his right shoulder got better as the campaign moved along and that at the moment, he's not planning to have any type of surgery, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Said Allen: "It just felt like it kept getting better as the season went on. And especially these last probably four weeks, felt like it didn't bother me at all. So yeah, I don't think there's anything." The team's brass affirmed later in the week that there are no plans for surgery for their star quarterback. This is nice news for anyone holding Allen in a keeper league, as he'll be able to hit the 2024 season healthy after putting up an extremely fantasy-friendly 40-plus touchdowns (passing plus rushing) for an NFL-record fourth straight season.
Jan 21, 2024
Scores thrice in crushing defeat
Allen completed 26 of 39 pass attempts for 186 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 72 yards and two scores on 18 attempts in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Allen did everything in his power to lift the Bills past the Chiefs in the postseason contest, but a heartbreaking missed field goal capped off multiple follies that eventually cost Buffalo its season. Patrick Mahomes had the better passing performance out of the two phenoms (131.6 QBR to Allen's 86.1 QBR), but Allen's gaudy rushing line gave him the upper hand in terms of fantasy scores. Allen could have had an even better statistical night had top wideout Stefon Diggs (3-21-0) not dropped an absolute howitzer that hit him in the hands near Kansas City's end zone late in Sunday's narrow loss. Allen will wrap up the 2023-24 campaign with 51 total touchdowns (44 in the regular season) and over 5,000 combined yards from scrimmage.
Jan 15, 2024
Generates all four BUF TDs
Allen completed 21 of 30 pass attempts for 203 yards and three touchdowns while adding 74 yards and a fourth score on eight carries in Monday's 31-17 wild-card victory over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Allen and the No. 2 seed Bills took care of business against a banged-up Steelers unit in the opening round of the playoff schedule. The dual-threat quarterback had a strong game from the pocket (121.9 quarterback rating) while also ripping off a 52-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to give Buffalo a 21-0 lead. Allen would cruise to victory and finish the game scoring all four of Buffalo's touchdowns. With a strong showing out of the gates, Allen prepares to host long-time rival Patrick Mahomes when the No. 3 seed Chiefs travel to take on the Bills on Sunday.
Jan 13, 2024
Playoff game moved to Monday
Due to a snowstorm in Buffalo, Allen and the Bills will now meet the Steelers on Monday afternoon instead of Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
It's a bizarre situation where there will now be two playoff games on a Monday, but the league couldn't risk having a game at the regularly scheduled time due to emergency conditions in Buffalo. The development might actually benefit those using anyone in the passing game for either team, as the snow and high winds may have been so nasty Sunday that any sort of successful attack through the air would have been very difficult to achieve.
Jan 8, 2024
Puts it all out there in SNF win
Allen completed 30 of 38 pass attempts for 359 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing 15 times for 67 yards while losing a fumble in Sunday's 21-14 win over Miami.
ANALYSIS
Fans watching Sunday Night Football were treated to the full Josh Allen Experience and all the ups and downs that came along the way to an eventual AFC East-clinching victory over the now No. 6 seed Dolphins. The gunslinging signal-caller threw two more interceptions to bring his season total up to 18 over 17 starts. Although one of his picks Sunday turned out to be a savvy decision on a broken play on fourth down that resulted in the QB's second interception of the game, but a net positive for Buffalo in terms of field position. Allen will finish the regular season with 4,306 yards, 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions as a passer in addition to 111 attempts for 524 yards and an attention-grabbing 15 touchdowns as a rusher (previous high of seven). The Bills' franchise quarterback will begin preparations for a banged-up Steelers squad next Sunday for the opening round of the playoffs.

Practices fully Thursday
Allen (neck/right finger) practiced fully Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Allen was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report and the QB's ability to maintain that level during Thursday's session paves the way for him start start Sunday night's game against the Dolphins. With a win in the NFL's last regular-season game of the season, the Bills can secure the AFC East crown.
Jan 3, 2024
Full participant Wednesday
Allen (neck/finger) was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report, Chris Brown of One Bills Live reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen had some soreness in his neck after Buffalo's previous game, but his full participation in Wednesday's walk-through suggests he isn't in danger of sitting out Sunday's pivotal regular-season finale in Miami. He was asked Wednesday whether the injury could impact his availability, and Allen said "No, not at all," per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com. Allen's presence Sunday will be pivotal, as the Bills would win the NFC East with a victory but could miss the postseason altogether with a loss, depending on how things unfold in other Week 18 games.
Jan 2, 2024
Stinger not a major issue
Coach Sean McDermott said Tuesday that while Allen is sore after suffering a neck stinger on the final drive of Buffalo's win over the Patriots on Sunday, the coach doesn't believe the soreness will impact Allen's practice schedule this week or his availability for Sunday night's finale in Miami, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bills are playing for the the AFC East crown in a huge primetime matchup Sunday night, and even if enough things break their way ahead of the NFL's final regular-season game, a loss to the Dolphins would cost the team home playoff games and significant seeding. Thus, it's hard to picture a scenario where Allen isn't out there for the contest, setting the stage for him to be one of the better fantasy options in a week where several starting quarterbacks throughout the league are being rested or are already hurt.
Jan 1, 2024
Neck soreness deemed minor
Allen suffered a stinger in Sunday's win over New England and has some neck soreness Monday, but the issue isn't expected to impact his practice availability, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
The stinger came late in Sunday's victory, and Allen was replaced by Kyle Allen with Buffalo needing only to run down the clock with a pair of kneel-downs. Despite the fact that the former was experiencing lingering neck soreness Monday, head coach Sean McDermott said "not that I'm aware of" when asked if the starting quarterback's practice status would be affected by the issue. The Bills can win the AFC East division title by beating Miami on Sunday evening, and Allen is fully expected to be behind center for the matchup.
Dec 31, 2023
Two more rushing TDs in win
Allen completed 15 of 30 passes for 169 yards and an interception while adding 44 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries in Sunday's 27-21 win over the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Bill Belichick's defense did an excellent job containing Allen as a passer but couldn't do much to stop him at the goal line, as he punched in one-yard TDs in the first and third quarters. Allen came out of the game for the final couple kneeldowns at the end of the fourth, and the Bills' starting QB acknowledged after the game he's picked up a stinger in his left shoulder on his last carry of the day, per Josh Reed of WIVB Buffalo. The issue seems minor though, and Allen doesn't seem to be in much danger of missing a Week 18 contest against the Dolphins with the AFC East title on the line.
Dec 23, 2023
Three total touchdowns in win
Allen completed 15 of 21 passes for 237 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Saturday's 24-22 win over the Chargers. He added five rushes for 15 yards and two additional scores.
ANALYSIS
Allen saw limited volume as a passer for the second consecutive week, though he was still production thanks to an extremely efficient effort. That efficiency came largely due to his connection with Gabe Davis, with whom he recorded long completions of 57, 36, 20 and 17 yards -- the first of which went for a touchdown. Allen also supplemented that with two rushing scores from two and one yard away, respectively. As a result, he became the first player in NFL history with four consecutive seasons with 40 total touchdowns.
Dec 17, 2023
Two total TDs in run-heavy win
Allen completed seven of 15 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown while rushing eight times for 24 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-10 win over the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Allen put the Bills up 14-0 with an 18-yard touchdown pass to James Cook in the second quarter, then extended Buffalo's advantage to 21-3 with a one-yard touchdown run 1:36 before halftime. The star quarterback came up short of 100 passing yards for the first time since the final game of the 2019 regular season, as Cook led the way with 211 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns. Allen produced at least one touchdown each with his arm and legs in the same game for the ninth time this season, and he's up to 26 passing touchdowns and 11 rushing touchdowns heading into Saturday's road game against the Chargers.
Dec 10, 2023
Scores 10th rushing TD
Allen completed 23 of 42 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown with an interception while adding 32 rushing yards and a TD on 10 carries in Sunday's 20-17 win over Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
His six-yard scamper in the second quarter gave the sixth-year QB his 10th rushing touchdown of the season, a new career high. Allen's first-quarter strike to James Cook was also his 25th passing TD of the year, and he's produced multiple scores in 12 straight games dating back to Week 2. Allen will face another tough test in a Week 15 home matchup against the Cowboys.
Nov 26, 2023
Four TDs not enough in OT loss
Allen completed 29 of 51 passes for 339 yards and two touchdowns with one interception, adding 81 rushing yards and two TDs on nine carries, in Sunday's 37-34 overtime loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
The quarterback did more than enough to secure a win for the Bills, but two missed field goals in regulation by Tyler Bass on a rainy day in Philadelphia proved costly in the end. The 81 rushing yards were a season high for Allen, while he put together his fourth 300-yard passing performance of the year and extended his streak of games produced multiple TDs to 11. Buffalo will head into its Week 13 bye three losses back of Miami in the AFC East and on the outside looking in for a wild-card spot, but Allen in on pace for career highs in passing yards and rushing TDs, having already tied his prior best in the latter category with nine through 12 games.
Nov 20, 2023
Three TDs in big win
Allen completed 20 of 32 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 32-6 win over the Jets. He added 15 rushing yards on five carries.
ANALYSIS
New offensive coordinator Joe Brady has an immediate positive impact on Allen's play, as the quarterback tossed at least three TDs for the first time since Week 4 and posted a YPA above 8.0 for the first time since Week 5. He also set a new Bills record by throwing at least one touchdown for the 19th straight game, breaking the mark set by Jim Kelly, but Allen also got picked off at least once for the seventh straight contest, so the issues in the passing game may not have been completely fixed by the coaching change. The sixth-year QB will at least take some momentum into Week 12's trip to Philadelphia.
Nov 13, 2023
Pair of picks in Week 10 loss
Allen completed 15 of 26 passes for 177 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the Bills' 24-22 loss to the Broncos on Monday night. He also rushed four times for 13 yards and another score, threw a two-point conversion pass and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Allen surprisingly was stymied by an aggressive and improving Broncos defense that was able to limit him to his second-lowest yardage tally of the season. The versatile signal-caller also tossed an interception for the sixth straight game and multiple picks for the first time since Week 1. Allen's pair of miscues through the air only directly led to three Broncos points, but his first one robbed Buffalo of a great chance for at least that much since it came on Denver's 12-yard line. Allen atoned for those errors and his third-quarter fumble with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Kincaid and a go-ahead six-yard scoring run with 1:55 remaining, but the Bills still came up short thanks to the Broncos' improbable game-winning drive. Allen will now look to prevent his team from falling below .500 in a home divisional rematch of the season opener with the Jets in Week 11.
Nov 5, 2023
Comes up short vs. Burrow again
Allen completed 26 of 38 pass attempts for 258 yards with one touchdown and one interception while adding eight rushes for 44 yards and another score in the Bills' 24-18 loss to the Bengals on Sunday night. He also threw a two-point conversion pass.
ANALYSIS
Allen put together a solid stat line in his second loss to Joe Burrow and the Bengals in the 2023 calendar year, and he got off to an encouraging start by answering an early Cincinnati touchdown with a seven-play, 85-yard march that he capped off with a two-yard scoring run. However, the remainder of the first half was a non-starter for Buffalo's offense, with the team's remaining possessions prior to halftime resulting in a pair of punts, an interception and a drive that stalled at the Bengals' 38 leading into intermission. Allen was able to come back to lead the Bills to a field goal on the first possession of the second half, but he couldn't help facilitate any additional points until his 17-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs with 3:32 remaining and ensuing two-point conversion toss to his star wideout. Allen saw his streak of games with multiple passing touchdowns snapped at five, but he's now recorded a rushing score in three straight contests heading into a Week 10 home matchup against the Broncos on M

Good to go Sunday
Allen (right shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday night's game against the Bengals after practicing fully both Thursday and Friday.
ANALYSIS
Allen was listed as a non-participant Wednesday, but returned to a full practice Thursday and with another full session Friday under his belt, the QB's Week 9 availability has been confirmed to the relief of fantasy managers, given the Bills' 8:20 ET kickoff Sunday. In the team's Week 8 win over the Buccaneers, Allen completed 31 of 40 passes for 324 yards with two TDs and one interception, while adding seven carries for 41 yards and a rushing score. Through eight games overall, Allen has thrown for 2,165 yards (fifth in the league), while compiling a 17:8 TD:INT ratio.
Nov 2, 2023
Returns to full practice
Allen (right shoulder) practiced fully Thursday.
ANALYSIS
After being deemed a non-participant Wednesday, Allen upgraded to full participation Thursday, which sets the stage for the QB to be available to start Sunday night's game against the Bengals in the absence of any setbacks. Friday's final injury report will confirm whether Allen heads into the weekend with a Week 9 injury designation or fully cleared to play.
Nov 2, 2023
Slated to practice Thursday
Coach Sean McDermott noted that Allen (right shoulder) is in line to participate in practice Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The report adds that Allen -- who didn't practice Wednesday -- is expected to mix into some team drills Thursday, which suggests that the QB will likely be deemed a limited participant. Per Getzenberg, McDermott also relayed that he feels "confident" in what the Bills' medical team shared with him in terms of whether Allen will be ready to play Sunday night against the Bengals.
Nov 1, 2023
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Allen (right shoulder) was listed as a non-participant in practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Per Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site, Allen was originally in line to be limited, but the QB will officially go down as having missed the session. For his part, Allen noted that he took it easy Wednesday with an eye toward being in a better position for Sunday's contest against the Bengals, adding that he hopes to practice Thursday.
Nov 1, 2023
Limited practice on tap
Allen (shoulder) will be limited in practice Wednesday, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Skurski, Allen hasn't suffered any setbacks, with the QB's looming limitations Wednesday attributable to being part of managing a shoulder issue that has been noted on the Bills' injury reports the past two weeks. Allen's status is nonetheless worth monitoring, but as long as he practices fully by Friday, he'll have a chance to approach Sunday night's game against the Bengals without an injury designation.
Oct 26, 2023
Eclipses 300-yard mark in win
Allen completed 31 of 40 passes for 324 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and added seven carries for 41 yards and another score in the Bills' 24-18 win over the Buccaneers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Allen put together his third 300-yard effort of the season -- which have all come within the last five games -- with the help of 22- and four-yard scoring tosses to Dalton Kincaid and Gabe Davis. The mobile signal-caller also recorded the first touchdown of the night on a 13-yard rush early in the second quarter to extend the Bills' lead to 10-0 at the time. Allen focused heavily on his top receiving trio of Khalil Shakir, Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs, with the talented wideouts responsible for 24 of Allen's completions, 249 of his yards and one of his touchdown passes. Allen did see his streak of games with at least one interception extend to four, but he'll still carry a solid 17:8 TD:INT for the season into a Week 9 road showdown against the Bengals on Sunday night, Nov. 5.
Oct 22, 2023
Three total TDs, two TOs in Week 7
Allen completed 27 of 41 passes for 265 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 29-25 loss to New England. He also rushed seven times for 17 yards and a touchdown, lost a fumble and threw a two-point conversion.
ANALYSIS
Allen was intercepted on Buffalo's first offensive play, and the Bills trailed 10-0 by the next time they got the ball. Buffalo took a 13-3 deficit into the locker room, but Allen cut into the lead with an eight-yard touchdown pass to James Cook. After New England extended its lead to 22-10, Allen answered again, finding Stefon Diggs for a 25-yard touchdown with 5:32 remaining in the fourth quarter. Allen appeared to throw a crucial interception in the end zone on the next drive but was bailed out as the Bills were granted a timeout called just before the snap. He eventually capped that drive with a go-ahead, one-yard rushing touchdown and threw a two-point conversion to Dawson Knox to take a 25-22 lead, but New England responded with a game-winning touchdown drive to drop Buffalo's record to 4-3 heading into Thursday's Week 8 home game against the Buccaneers.
Oct 19, 2023
Practices fully Thursday
Allen (right shoulder) practiced fully Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Allen was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's walk-through practice, but his return to a full session Thursday paves the way for the QB to draw the start Sunday against New England. With tight ends Dawson Knox (wrist) and Dalton Kincaid, who has cleared the NFL's concussion protocol, also practicing fully, Allen is slated to have his key pass-catching options available in Week 7 against the 1-5 Patriots, who listed 20 players on their Wednesday injury report.
Oct 18, 2023
Deemed limited Wednesday
Allen (right shoulder) was listed as limited in Wednesday's walk-through.
ANALYSIS
Allen now has two more chances to increase his participation level ahead of Sunday's game against the Patriots, but at this stage the QB is expected to be available this weekend. Per Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site, Allen indicated Wednesday that there's no concern with pain or mobility in his shoulder, adding "we'll be ready to go" ahead of Week 7 action.
Oct 18, 2023
Set to participate in walk-through
Allen (shoulder) will participate in Wednesday's walk-through, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bills' upcoming injury report will clarify Allen's listed participation level, with coach Sean McDermott having indicated that the QB is considered day-to-day as Sunday's game against the Patriots approaches. Allen gave way to backup Kyle Allen for two snaps during Sunday's night's win over the Giants, but was quickly able to return to the contest.
Oct 16, 2023
Considered day-to-day
Coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Allen (shoulder) is considered day-to-day, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.

Allen missed a couple snaps in Sunday night's Week 6 win over the Giants but quickly returned and finished 19 of 30 passing for a season-low 169 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He rushed just two times for 11 yards. Allen is expected to be out there next Sunday against the Patriots.

Getting more tests on shoulder
Allen will undergo further testing on his right shoulder Monday, but he's believed to not be dealing with a serious injury, NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen briefly excited Sunday's 14-9 win over the Giants due to a potential head injury before being cleared to return, and he required X-rays on his shoulder after the narrow victory. Initial indications are that Allen hasn't suffered a major injury, but fantasy managers will nonetheless want to closely monitor any test results revealed Monday. The Bills are looking ahead to a divisional road matchup against the Patriots in Week 7.
Oct 16, 2023
Roughed up in gutsy win
Allen was examined for a potential head injury after taking a hit in the second quarter of Sunday's 14-9 win over the Giants. He was cleared to return following the brief exit and finished the game with 19 completions on 30 pass attempts for 169 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while attempting two rushes for 11 yards.
ANALYSIS
Allen was fortunate to evade injury so that he could overcome a quiet first half and orchestrate two fourth quarter touchdown drives. It is worth noting that the star quarterback was taken in for X-Rays following the hard-fought win, but the medical staff only examined his shoulder before returning Allen to the Bills' locker room, ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg reports. While shoulder issues are concerning for quarterbacks, it sounds like this was more of a precautionary move after enduring a physical battle. Allen's strong play to close out Sunday night's win bodes well for his availability for next Sunday's tilt against New England.

Big numbers in London
Allen completed 27 of 40 passes for 359 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Sunday's 25-20 loss to the Jaguars. He added 14 rushing yards and a TD on four carries.
ANALYSIS
The Bills came out flat to begin the game, having only landed in London a little more than 48 hours before kickoff, but Allen hit Stefon Diggs late in the second quarter to avoid a first-half shutout and then piled up the production late as Buffalo tried in vain to mount a comeback. The quarterback has delivered 13 touchdowns over the last four games -- 10 through the air, three on the ground -- and he figures to post big numbers again in Week 6 against the struggling Giants.
Oct 1, 2023
Nearly perfect in big win
Allen completed 21 of 25 passes for 320 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Bills' 48-20 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. He also rushed four times for 17 yards and another score.
ANALYSIS
Allen's final numbers underscore how efficient the red-hot signal-caller was against the previously undefeated Dolphins as he led a game plan that was aggressive right out of the gate. Allen got Buffalo on the board first via an 18-yard touchdown dart to Gabe Davis to cap off the opening drive, and went on to add 11- and 55-yard scoring tosses to Stefon Diggs before halftime. the latter giving the Bills a two-touchdown lead. Allen would add a 13-yard strike to Diggs late in the third quarter and take it in himself from 11 yards out on the first play of the fourth to put an exclamation point on the statement divisional win. After a three-interception night in Week 1 against the Jets, Allen has roared back to post an 8:1 TD:INT while completing an elite 76.6 percent of his passes over the next three games. Allen and the Bills will now look to keep their offense clicking across the pond in a Week 5 London showdown against the Jaguars.
Sep 24, 2023
Throws one TD, rushes for another
Allen completed 20 of 32 passes for 218 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 37-3 win over Washington. He added three rushing attempts for 46 yards and one rushing touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Allen gave Buffalo a 10-0 first-quarter lead with a 35-yard touchdown pass to Gabe Davis, then increased the lead to 23-0 with a 10-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. He threw his fourth interception of the season on a deep ball in the third quarter, and Allen now has 33 interceptions in 36 games since the start of the 2021 campaign. Despite his proclivity for turnovers, Allen remains one of the game's most effective fantasy quarterbacks thanks to his significant contributions as both a passer and a runner. Up next for Allen and the Bills is a home game against the Dolphins, who lead the AFC East at 3-0.
Sep 17, 2023
Bounces back against Raiders
Allen completed 31 of 37 passes for 274 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 38-10 win over the Raiders. He added three rushes for seven yards.
ANALYSIS
Allen threw away Buffalo's chance for a Week 1 victory against the Jets due to four total turnovers and three interceptions. However, he managed to flip that script against the Raiders, as he distributed the ball very effectively to open pass catchers -- evidenced by the fact that seven receivers tallied multiple receptions. If there were to be an ongoing concern, it would be lack of rushing production from Allen, as he now has only 43 yards on the ground combined across his first two games of the campaign. Nevertheless, he and the Bills offense got back on track and will now head into a Week 3 matchup against the Commanders.
Sep 11, 2023
Four turnovers in Week 1 loss
Allen completed 29 of 41 passes for 236 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in Monday's 22-16 overtime loss to the Jets. He added six rushing attempts for 36 yards and fumbled twice, losing one.
ANALYSIS
Allen had a would-be third fumble returned for a Jets touchdown in the second quarter, but it was erased on a questionable ruling of his forward progress having stopped. He threw an interception two plays later, then bounced back with a five-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs on the next drive. The Bills appeared to have the game well in hand with a 10-point halftime lead and Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) ruled out, but Allen let New York back in with a pair of second-half interceptions and a fourth-quarter fumble that led to the Jets' go-ahead field goal with 1:48 remaining in regulation. To his credit, Allen managed to get the Bills in range for a game-tying 50-yard field goal in the final seconds of regulation, but the Jets won it on a punt return touchdown in overtime after Buffalo went three-and-out. Had his first fumble counted, Allen would have set a new career high with five turnovers, but he tied his existing high as is. On the bright side, Buffalo doesn't have to face the stout Jets defense again until

Plays one drive, looks sharp
Allen completed five of seven passes for 49 yards in Saturday's preseason game against Chicago, leading the Bills to a touchdown on his only drive.
ANALYSIS
A bunch of the Bills' starters played more than one drive, but Allen and WR Stefon Diggs came out after the opening series. Diggs had two catches for 20 yards, with RB Damen Harris punching in a touchdown at the goal line. Allen makes it through the preseason healthy and will next suit up Week 1 at the Jets on Monday Night Football.
Aug 24, 2023
Preseason not over
Coach Sean McDermott said Thursday that Allen and the starters will play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Bears, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The first unit had a terrible outing in Saturday's preseason loss to the Steelers, so we imagine the coaching staff would like to see some more positive vibes heading into a tough Week 1 matchup against the Jets. Expect Allen's time to still be limited, while those rostering him will hope for a drama-free outing at a time when most of the other NFL starters will be taking a seat.
Aug 19, 2023
Works three series
Allen completed seven of 10 passes for 64 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 27-15 preseason loss to the Steelers. He rushed the ball once for -6 yards.
ANALYSIS
Allen played three offensive series in his 2023 preseason debut, and he led one sustained drive with a few lengthy completions to Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. Otherwise, it was a forgettable performance for the veteran quarterback. Of course, given Allen's track record, this performance is hardly a concern and his focus will likely turn to a Week 1 matchup against the Jets.
Aug 17, 2023
Will face Steelers
Allen and the starters will play in Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Allen will draw his preseason debut Saturday, after he and Stefon Diggs sat out last week's contest against the Colts. Coach Sean McDermott said Allen and the starters will play "a quarter and a half," so the offense will have a chance to get plenty of reps.
Aug 10, 2023
Won't play Saturday
Allen and WR Stefon Diggs aren't scheduled to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Colts, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Sean McDermott said Thursday that he plans to play most of his starters but will hold out the two most important players on offense. Allen made just one preseason appearance last summer and attempted three passes.
Mar 13, 2023
Restructures deal
Allen agreed to a restructured contract with the Bills on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Buffalo created close to $32 million in cap space by restructuring the contracts of Allen and Von Miller. Allen accounted for just over $21 million of that cap space by converting $26.4 million of his 2023 salary into a signing bonus. The quarterback -- who turns 27 in May -- is hoping this move will help the Bills fortify the roster around him after consistently falling short in the playoffs in recent years. Allen's expected to enter the 2023 season fully healthy after playing through a lingering UCL injury in his elbow in 2022.
Jan 23, 2023
Not expected to need elbow surgery
Allen said Monday he isn't expected to require offseason elbow surgery, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen played through a lingering ulnar collateral ligament injury in his right elbow down the stretch of the 2022 season, including Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Bengals in the AFC divisional round, but it looks like the issue isn't expected to cause any offseason complications. The Bills currently anticipate rest and recovery being enough to get Allen back to full strength for the 2023 campaign, and there's not yet been any indication that the star signal-caller is in danger of missing any amount of offseason activities. Assuming all recovery proceeds on track, Allen will once again come off the board as one of the premier fantasy options at the quarterback position next season.
Jan 22, 2023
Scores team's lone TD
Allen completed 25 of 42 passes for 264 yards and an interception in Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Bengals in the AFC divisional round. He also rushed eight times for 26 yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Allen never found a passing rhythm amid snowy conditions in Buffalo. In fact, Sunday marked just the second time this season he failed to pass for a touchdown, with the other occasion being the Bills' 20-17 loss to the Jets in Week 9. Although he salvaged some production with his score on a quarterback sneak, Allen's campaign comes to a close in the AFC divisional round for the second straight year. Despite missing one game this season, Allen's numbers of 4,283 passing yards and 35 touchdowns versus 14 interceptions, as well as 762 rushing yards and seven scores on the ground, were strikingly similar to those from his 2021 campaign. The 26-year-old figures to remain one of the NFL's elite signal callers next season.
Jan 15, 2023
Scores three TDs, commits three turnovers in win
Allen completed 23 of 39 passes for 352 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Dolphins in the wild-card round. He also rushed four times for 20 yards but was sacked seven times and had a fumble returned for a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Allen had a few long completions prior to opening the scoring with a six-yard bullet to Dawson Knox. In the second quarter, however, Allen threw a pair of interceptions, helping Miami get back in the game. He then had a fumbled returned for a touchdown on his first drive of the second half. Despite those mistakes, Allen rallied to throw scores on consecutive series to end the third quarter, finding Cole Beasley from six yards and Gabe Davis from 23. With three touchdowns and three turnovers, it certainly wasn't Allen's best performance, but it was enough to help the Bills advance to the AFC divisional round next weekend.
Jan 8, 2023
Finishes with 42 total TDs
Allen completed 19 of 31 passes for 254 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 35-23 win over the Patriots. He added nine rushing attempts for 16 yards.
ANALYSIS
Allen's four-yard touchdown pass to Dawson Knox put the Bills up 14-7 early in the second quarter, but he was intercepted at New England's three-yard line in the final minute of the first half to prevent Buffalo from taking a lead into the locker room. The star quarterback bounced back with a 42-yard touchdown pass to John Brown in the third quarter and a 49-yarder to Stefon Diggs in the fourth, improving his TD:INT to 35:14. Allen added seven rushing touchdowns in 16 games, finishing two short of his career high in both passing and rushing scores. Allen's productive campaign helped the Bills secure the No. 2 seed in the AFC and a home playoff game against the Dolphins in the wild-card round.
Jan 6, 2023
Cleared for Week 18
Allen (ankle/elbow) was a full participant in Friday's practice and doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Even though Allen was a limited participant in Thursday's session, the Bills never seemed to have much concern about his ability to play in a Week 18 game in which Buffalo can clinch home-field advantage for the postseason with a win plus a Chiefs loss to the Raiders. Allen will have his full complement of weapons available, as none of the 12 skill-position players on the Bills' 53-man roster will enter the weekend with injury designations.
Jan 5, 2023
Limited at practice Thursday
Allen (ankle/right elbow) was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Allen was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's walk-through, but the Bills' QB had his practice reps managed Thursday. The team's final injury report of the week will clarify whether Allen approaches Saturday's scheduled game against the Patriots with an injury designation or cleared for Week 18 action.
Dec 24, 2022
Three total TDs in win
Allen completed 15 of 26 passes for 172 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Bills' 35-13 win over the Bears on Saturday. He also rushed six times for 41 yards and another score and committed a fumble that he recovered.
ANALYSIS
Allen and the Bills offense as a whole got off to a slow start in the artic-like conditions of Soldier Field, but the star quarterback ultimately finished with a fantasy-friendly afternoon thanks largely to his work in the second half. Allen did complete a 19-yard touchdown pass to Gabe Davis just past the midway point of the first quarter, but he then added a four-yard scoring rush and 13-yard touchdown toss to Dawson Knox within the last four minutes of the contest. Allen's final numbers through the air were well below his usual standards, however, and he'll draw another tough matchup on the road against the Bengals in Week 17 on Monday night, Jan. 2.
Dec 21, 2022
Returns to full practice
Allen (right elbow) practiced fully Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
The QB logged a limited listing Tuesday, but Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic relays that was rest-related, rather than indicative of Allen having suffered any setbacks. For his part, the signal-caller noted Wednesday that his elbow "felt really good," adding that "it hasn't felt that good in a long time." With that in mind, Allen shouldn't face any limitations this Saturday against the Bears. In the Bills' Week 15 win over the Dolphins, Allen completed 25 of 40 passes for 304 yards, four touchdowns and no picks, while adding 10 carries for 77 yards.
Dec 20, 2022
Limited in practice to begin week
Allen was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a right elbow injury.
ANALYSIS
Allen has been listed on the Bills' injury report for each of the past six weeks due to the elbow injury he originally sustained Week 9 against the Jets, but Wednesday marks the first time he's been anything other than a full participant since late November. The Bills haven't indicated that Allen is dealing with any sort of setback following Saturday's 32-29 win over the Dolphins, so at this stage of the week, fantasy managers can probably view his limitations as precautionary unless the team says otherwise. Allen is still expected to be ready to go for the Bills' Week 16 game in Chicago on Saturday.
Dec 18, 2022
Four touchdowns against Miami
Allen completed 25 of 40 passes for 304 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 32-29 win over the Dolphins. He added 10 rushes for 77 yards.
ANALYSIS
Allen entered Saturday's game having failed to top 300 passing yards in four consecutive games, though he reached that mark on the strength of four completions of 20 yards or more. He also threw for four touchdowns in a game for the third time this season, connecting for scores from 14, 10, four and five yards away. While that combination was plenty impressive enough, Allen also ripped off several long gains on the ground -- highlighted by a 44-yard rush early in the fourth quarter. All told, it was a heroic performance from Allen, as he produced at an exceptional level in every way possible.
Dec 11, 2022
Mistake-free in Week 14 win
Allen completed 16 of 27 passes for 147 yards and one touchdown while rushing 10 times for 47 yards and another touchdown in Sunday's 20-12 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
After holding Allen without a passing touchdown in their previous meeting, the ferocious Jets defense gave him trouble early in this one, as Buffalo punted on each of its first two possessions for the first time in 18 games. The Bills punted on their next three drives as well before the Jets gifted them a fourth down conversion with an encroachment penalty, and Allen capitalized by capping that drive with a 24-yard touchdown pass to Dawson Knox in the final minute of the first half. After the Jets tied the game early in the third, Allen answered with a five-yard touchdown run as the Bills took the lead for good. The dual-threat quarterback has thrown 26 touchdowns and rushed for another six heading into a Week 15 home game against the Dolphins.
Dec 1, 2022
Efficient in Week 13 win
Allen completed 22 of 33 passes for 223 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Bills' 24-10 win over the Patriots on Thursday night. He also rushed eight times for 20 yards and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Allen put together a solid performance against a defense that had allowed an NFL-low 130.2 passing yards per home game, despite the fact he took two sacks and six hits overall. One of those did lead to a late second-half fumble by Allen at the Patriots' 41-yard line, but New England was unable to convert the opportunity into points. Otherwise, Allen put together his second straight two-touchdown performance with second-quarter eight-yard scoring tosses to Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. Allen and his teammates now get some much-needed time off ahead of a Week 14 home showdown against the Jets on Sunday, Dec. 11.
Nov 28, 2022
Full participant Monday
Allen logged his first full practice Monday since suffering a right elbow injury against the Jets in Week 9, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite being limited at practice over the past three weeks due to an elbow injury he suffered in the team's Week 9 loss to the Jets, Allen has still suited up for three straight games, leading the Bills' to a 2-1 record. During that stretch, Allen has completed 63.4 percent of his passes for 780 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. The issue doesn't appear to be impacting his throwing ability too much, but it's still a positive sign to see the superstar quarterback return to full practices for the first time in a month. Allen shouldn't have any limitations heading into Thursday's divisional showdown against New England.
Nov 24, 2022
Comes up big against Lions
Allen completed 24 of 42 passes for 253 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in Thursday's 28-25 win over the Lions. He added 78 rushing yards and another TD on 10 carries.
ANALYSIS
While his Thanksgiving performance was somewhat marred by another red-zone interception on Buffalo's first drive of the second half, Allen was clutch when it counted, finding Stefon Diggs on a five-yard TD strike with just under three minutes left in the fourth quarter before hitting his No. 1 receiver again for a 39-yard gain with only 23 seconds left to help set up Tyler Bass' game-winning field goal. It's the first time in five games since the Bills' bye that Allen has produced three or more touchdowns, giving him some much-needed momentum heading into a crucial AFC East road tilt against the Patriots in Week 13.
Nov 23, 2022
Cleared to play Thursday
Allen (elbow) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against the Lions, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen was listed as a limited participant at Wednesday's walk-through while the quarterback continues to manage a right elbow injury that has yet to cost him any game action. In Week 12, he'll be facing a Detroit defense that's allowing an average of 262.2 passing yards per game to date. As long as he's able to play, Allen remains a high-level fantasy lineup option on a weekly basis.
Nov 22, 2022
Remains limited Tuesday
Allen (elbow) practiced in a limited capacity Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Despite his listing on the Bills' second Week 12 practice report, Allen appears to be putting his right elbow injury further in the rearview mirror, as he was spotted without a sleeve on his throwing arm during the open portion of Tuesday's session, according to Josh Reed of WIVB-TV. Assuming he logs another capped practice Wednesday -- or, better yet, gets back to full -- Allen likely will head into Thursday's game at Detroit without a designation, like he did last week.
Nov 21, 2022
Listed as limited on practice estimate
Allen (right elbow) was listed as limited on Monday's practice estimate, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen continues to manage a right elbow issue that he's been playing through, so his listed limitations Monday are presumably indicative of that trend. There's nothing to suggest that the QB's availability for Thursday's game against the Lions is in any danger, and chances are that Allen will approach the contest minus a Week 12 injury designation.
Nov 20, 2022
Gets it done on neutral field
Allen completed 18 of 27 passes for 197 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions and rushed three times for seven yards in the Bills' 31-23 win over the Browns on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Following a week of plenty of upheaval for the Bills, Allen and his offensive teammates were nowhere near their top level of efficiency. However, after a slow start, Allen was able to build some momentum beginning late in the second quarter when he hit Stefon Diggs for a five-yard touchdown. Allen then went on to helm five second-half scoring drives, although all but one ended in a Tyler Bass field goal. The quiet performance was a disappointment overall for fantasy managers, but Allen snapped a three-game streak of multi-interception performances and now gets an immediate chance to put together a more prolific effort at Ford Field when Buffalo faces the Lions on Thanksgiving afternoon.
Nov 18, 2022
Clear for Week 11
Allen (right elbow) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game against the Browns in Detroit.
ANALYSIS
Unlike last week, there's no uncertainty surrounding the status of Allen's right elbow ahead of kickoff. However, due to a Lake Effect Snow Warning in the Buffalo area, the NFL moved the Bills' Week 11 home matchup to a neutral site, with the same start time of 1:00 p.m. ET. Allen thus will be taking on a Cleveland defense that has given up the seventh-most yards per attempt (7.6) to opposing quarterbacks this season in the cozy confines of Ford Field.
Nov 17, 2022
Bills-Browns game moved to Detroit
Allen (elbow) and the Bills are now scheduled to play Sunday's game against the Browns at Ford Field in Detroit at 1 p.m. ET, after the NFL announced Thursday that the game has been moved from Buffalo due to the major snowstorm that's expected to strike Western New York this weekend.
ANALYSIS
Though the Bills will lose out on a true home game as a result of the change, the move to a domed stadium in Detroit at least removes the potential headache fantasy managers might have faced in determining how the inclement weather might affect their players' production. Allen was a limited participant in practice Thursday for the second day in a row while he continues to manage a UCL injury to his right elbow, but he's not believed to be at any risk of missing Sunday's game after playing through the issue in the Week 10 overtime loss to the Vikings.
Nov 17, 2022
Another limited practice
Allen (right elbow) remained limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Allen continues to manage a UCL issue in his throwing elbow, but it's something that he played through in Week 10 and we'd expect the QB to be available for Sunday's scheduled home contest against the Browns, barring any setbacks. It remains to be seen, however, if Allen heads into the weekend with an official Week 11 injury designation. Added context on that front will arrive no later than Friday, plus it's worth noting that NFL.com relays that the league is monitoring weather in the Buffalo area ahead of the weekend, with a major snowstorm expected to hit Western New York in the coming days. For now, Buffalo and Cleveland are slated to kick off in Orchard Park at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Nov 16, 2022
Set for limited practice
Coach Sean McDermott noted that Allen (elbow) will be limited at practice Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Alaina Getzenberg ESPN previously relayed via McDermott that the QB came out of this past Sunday's 33-30 overtime loss to the Vikings in a "good spot" in terms of his right elbow injury. As Allen continues to work through his ulnar collateral ligament issue though, it's not surprising that his practice reps are being managed ahead of Sunday's game against the Browns. Barring any setbacks, Allen is in line to start this weekend, however he may need to practice fully by the end of the week in order to avoid a Week 11 injury designation.
Nov 15, 2022
Unlimited in passing scheme
Although Allen and the Bills had a rough outing in Sunday's overtime loss to the Vikings, coach Sean McDermott and offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey stated Monday that the quarterback didn't have any throws he was incapable of making due to his elbow sprain, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It wasn't Allen's arm that cost the Bills the game Sunday, as the star QB threw for 330 yards and ran for another 84, but some costly decisions by both Allen and his teammates handed the team a devastating loss, the second straight game the Bills have blown a double-digit lead. While the staff did mention it cut designed run plays for Allen out of Sunday's game plan, fantasy managers should be able to proceed with him as normal the rest of the way. While his elbow is not 100 percent, the word has been that he may not be able to do much more damage to it by playing through the pain. If there's any consolation to Allen's sloppy play of late (he has six interceptions over the last three weeks), it might just be that Buffalo now could have to play its starters full force all the way through Week 18 as it fights for playoff positioning instead of just coasting to a bye, as that's how the stretch run looked to be shaping up just a few short weeks ago.
Nov 13, 2022
Three costly turnovers in OT loss
Allen completed 29 of 43 passes for 330 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 33-30 overtime loss to the Vikings. He added six rushing attempts for 84 yards and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Allen had been nursing a right elbow injury but didn't look limited in any way on the field. Playing in a light Buffalo snow, Allen displayed his trademark physicality at the end of multiple big plays on the ground while topping 80 rushing yards for a second consecutive game. Devin Singletary's first two rushing touchdowns of the season accounted for Buffalo's first 14 points before Allen's 11-yard touchdown pass to Gabe Davis gave the Bills a 24-10 lead in the final minute of the first half. Allen stayed down after attempting a tackle following a fourth-quarter interception but returned to the game and lost a fumble in Buffalo's end zone for Minnesota's go-ahead touchdown with less than a minute remaining. He then benefited from a controversial non-review of a Davis catch along the sideline and a defensive pass interference penalty to set up a game-tying field goal with two seconds remaining in regulation, but Allen was picked off in the end zone to end the game after Minnesota's go-ahead field goal in overt
Nov 13, 2022
Slated to start Sunday
Allen (right elbow) will start Sunday's game against the Vikings, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen is dealing with an ulnar collateral ligament injury that he sustained during Week 9 action, but he's active and will get the starting nod Sunday, with backup Case Keenum on hand in the event that Allen is limited at all or suffers any setbacks versus Minnesota
Nov 13, 2022
Active Sunday
Allen (elbow) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out practice Wednesday and Thursday, Allen was able to log a limited session Friday before being officially listed as questionable by Buffalo. Allen, who is dealing with an ulnar collateral ligament injury that he sustained during Week 9 action, is thus available for Sunday's contest, along with Case Keenum, with Matt Barkley not having been elevated from the team's practice squad ahead of Week 10. Though the Bills haven't confirmed their starter versus Minnesota, Adam Schefter of ESPN previously relayed that the belief is that Allen will get the assignment.
Nov 13, 2022
Expected to play through UCL injury
Allen (elbow) is expected to start Sunday's contest against the Vikings, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen is expected to play through his ulnar collateral ligament injury Sunday, as the Bills have reportedly been assured by multiple arm doctors and specialists that the star quarterback will not have any added risk of worsening the injury if he suites up versus Minnesota. Buffalo also elected not to elevate Matt Barkley from the practice squad Saturday, another indication that Allen is trending towards active status. Case Keenum remains the only other quarterback on the active roster. Coach Sean McDermott said Friday that Allen's availability is "an hour-to-hour situation," though, so fantasy managers will need to continue monitoring things until official confirmation arrives ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Nov 12, 2022
Trending in positive direction
The Bills did not elevate a quarterback from the practice squad Saturday, which means Allen (elbow) is trending towards playing in Sunday's contest against the Vikings, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
If Matt Barkley had been elevated to the active roster, the Bills would have had three quarterbacks potentially available Sunday likely signaling an absence for the MVP frontrunner. Expect a more official confirmation from the team prior to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, but at least for now, the lack of elevation seems to bode well for Allen's status in what amounts to a pivotal contest for both squads.
Nov 11, 2022
Questionable after limited practice
Allen (elbow) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings after being deemed a limited practice participant Friday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Brown, Allen wasn't on the field for the media-access portion of Friday's practice, but the quarterback evidently got in some work behind the scenes. At this stage, Allen's Week 10 availability is up in the air, with head coach Sean McDermott telling Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com earlier Friday that the signal-caller's status is being viewed as an "hour-to-hour situation." With that in mind, Allen is shaping up as a game-day call ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff. If Allen is unable to play versus Minnesota, backup Case Keenum would be in line to draw the start for Buffalo.

Not spotted at Friday's practice
Allen (elbow) is not participating in the portion of Friday's practice open to the media, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach Sean McDermott reiterated Friday that Allen is considered "hour to hour," per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com, so it's possible that the star quarterback's status could come down to the wire as Sunday's contest against the Vikings draws nearer. Friday's official practice report will at least provide Allen with an official game-designation, though it appears he's now missed three straight practices. Case Keenum will be in line to start versus his former team if Allen's right elbow injury prevents him from suiting up in Week 10.
Nov 10, 2022
Misses another practice
Allen (right elbow) was officially listed as not practicing Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com relayed that the QB -- who also missed practice Wednesday -- is dealing with a right elbow injury to the ulnar collateral ligament and related nerves. Allen is described by coach Sean McDermott as "day-to-day," but if the Bills' franchise signal-caller is unavailable to face the Vikings on Sunday, Case Keenum would be in line to start in Allen's place. Friday's final injury report should provide an added layer of context with regard to Allen's chances of playing through his elbow issue this weekend.

Not practicing Thursday
Allen (right elbow) didn't participate in the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN, coach Sean McDermott previously referred to Allen -- who didn't practice Wednesday -- as day-to-day in advance of Sunday's game against the Vikings. When asked if Allen would be able to play in the contest, McDermott replied, "we'll see." Look for added context with regard to the QB's chances of playing this weekend to arrive no later than Friday's injury report, but if Allen ends up being held out, Case Keenum would be in line to draw the start for the Bills in Week 10.
Nov 9, 2022
Set to miss practice Wednesday
Allen (right elbow) won't practice Wednesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, coach Sean McDermott referred to Allen as "day-to-day" as Sunday's 1:00 ET game against the Vikings approaches. With the star signal-caller's Week 10 status yet to be determined, backup Case Keenum is in line to log first-team QB reps for the Bills on Wednesday.
Nov 9, 2022
May be limited in practice Week 10
Allen, who is dealing with a UCL sprain to his right elbow, is expected to have his reps limited in practice this week, but the Bills remain hopeful that he'll play Sunday against the Vikings, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen picked up the injury in the Bills' Week 9 loss to the Jets, though he wasn't forced to miss any snaps because of it. Even so, Allen still seems to be affected by the injury, though both the quarterback and the team believe the elbow sprain will be something he'll be able to manage moving forward. While Allen is likely to sit out Wednesday or participate in the Bills' first Week 10 session as only a limited participant, the early expectation is that he'll be ready to start by the time Sunday rolls around. Rapoport notes that how Allen's elbow responds this week will be a significant factor in the 26-year-old's availability and outlook moving forward.
Nov 7, 2022
Week 10 status TBD
Allen is reportedly being evaluated for an elbow injury to his ulnar collateral ligament as well as related nerves, per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
"We're just going through it, still evaluating it, and we'll see where it goes," coach Sean McDermott said of the QB's elbow issue on Monday. "I'll know more in the next 24 hours and then probably be able to check in with (the media) back on Wednesday." At the very least, we'd expect Allen's practice participation to be impacted this week, but either way, his status will be worth monitoring closely ahead of Sunday's game against the Vikings. If Allen is unable to play this weekend, Case Keenum would be in line to get the starting nod versus Minnesota in Week 10.
Nov 7, 2022
Likely limited due to elbow injury
Allen (elbow) will likely be limited during Week 10 prep, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, the situation is considered minor and isn't expected to sideline Allen for any games, though the quarterback is still undergoing tests Monday to confirm the severity of the issue. Allen suffered the right elbow injury during the Bills' final drive of Sunday's loss and admitted he was experiencing some pain, but he brushed off the issue by saying, "I'll get through it." Fantasy managers are encouraged to monitor Allen's status throughout the week, but barring a setback, he figures to suit up for Buffalo's Week 10 matchup against Minnesota.
Nov 6, 2022
Rushing TDs outweighed by turnovers
Allen completed 18 of 34 passes for 205 yards and two interceptions in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Jets. He added nine rushing attempts for 86 yards and two touchdowns while fumbling twice but losing none.
ANALYSIS
Allen promptly moved the Bills into scoring range with a 42-yard completion to Stefon Diggs on his first pass, but he was intercepted two plays later. He nearly turned the ball over in the red zone again on the next drive but recovered his own fumble and ended up capping that possession with a one-yard rushing touchdown. Allen added another rushing touchdown in the second quarter, this time rumbling in from 36 yards out. Another Allen interception in the third quarter set up New York's go-ahead touchdown, and after Buffalo tied it at 17 early in the fourth, New York made a field goal with 1:43 remaining to cap the scoring. On Buffalo's futile final drive, Allen was seen holding his elbow, but he told Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic that "there was some slight pain, but I'll get through it." Allen doesn't sound worried about the injury, but his practice participation will still be worth monitoring ahead of Buffalo's Week 10 matchup with the Vikings.
Oct 31, 2022
Throws two picks on SNF
Allen completed 13 of 25 pass attempts for 218 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while adding 49 rushing yards on six attempts in a 27-17 win over Green Bay on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Allen suffered his worst fantasy point total of the season despite getting his team a win on national television. The 13 completions marked a new low for the year, but the superstar quarterback made those completions count with a strong mark of 8.7 yards per attempt despite the two picks and low completion percentage. Allen will look to return to his usual spot among the week's top fantasy performers in a road matchup against the Jets next Sunday.
Oct 16, 2022
Tosses three TDs in Sunday's win
Allen completed 27 of 40 passes for 329 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 24-20 win over Kansas City. He added 32 rushing yards on 12 carries.
ANALYSIS
In another thrilling clash between the two AFC powerhouses, Allen and the Bills came out on top. The Pro Bowl quarterback tossed TD passes in each of the final three quarters, including the 14-yard game-winner to Dawson Knox with just over a minute left in the game. Allen has racked up over 300 passing yards and multiple touchdowns in four of the last five games, but he'll get a breather next week during Buffalo's bye before facing Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in Week 8.
Oct 9, 2022
Explodes for massive numbers
Allen completed 20 of 31 passes for 424 yards with four touchdowns and one interception in the Bills' 38-31 win over the Steelers on Sunday. He also rushed five times for 42 yards.
ANALYSIS
Allen served notice on what type of day it would be for the Bills' air attack when he hit Gabe Davis for a 98-yard catch-and-run touchdown on which the speedster split two defenders down the middle of the field. The prolific quarterback wouldn't really slow down much after that point, eventually connecting with Davis again for a 62-yard score and adding 15- and 24-yard scoring tosses to Stefon Diggs and Khalil Shakir, respectively, all in the second quarter. The fact Allen was able to put up such numbers despite Buffalo leading comfortably for most of the game was certainly a boon for his fantasy managers, and he's now already hit the 400-yard mark twice in his first five games. Allen's next opportunity to continue adding to his stellar early-season numbers comes in a Week 6 road showdown against the Chiefs on Sunday.
Oct 2, 2022
Overcomes struggles for road win
Allen completed 19 of 36 passes for 213 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Bills' 23-20 win over the Ravens on Sunday. He also rushed 11 times for 70 yards and another score and fumbled once but recovered.
ANALYSIS
Allen and the rest of the offense opened the game in forgettable fashion, scoring all of three points for nearly the entirety of the first half before the star quarterback found Isaiah McKenzie for a four-yard touchdown pass with nine seconds remaining in the second quarter. That began a comeback from a 20-3 deficit that saw Buffalo's defense lend a major hand by shutting out Baltimore over the final two quarters. Allen wasn't anywhere near as efficient as usual against a tough Ravens defense in inclement weather, but his 11-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter and a pair of double-digit-play drives that culminated in field goals were enough for the Bills to complete the rally. A major road challenge now in the rearview mirror, Allen will turn his sights to a home date with the Steelers in Week 5.
Sep 27, 2022
No injury concern
Allen is only experiencing soreness after suffering a minor injury to his throwing hand in Sunday's loss to Miami, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports."He's fine, other than soreness overall," coach Sean McDermott said Monday.
ANALYSIS
Allen may not even receive an injury status leading up to Sunday's game against the Ravens. He did see a number of injuries to his offensive teammates in Week 3, however, as the game featured several injuries to both teams in a strongly contested contest played on a very hot day. Allen has posted nine TD passes to just two picks through three fantasy-friendly outings thus far.
Sep 25, 2022
Massive statistical effort in loss
Allen completed 42 of 63 passes for 400 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Bills' 21-19 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. He also rushed eight times for 47 yards and committed three fumbles, losing one.
ANALYSIS
Allen's final numbers certainly won't disappoint fantasy managers, and they're all the more impressive when considering he ultimately lost Stefon Diggs to dehydration late in the contest and was in a tough road environment overall. Allen's target distribution was off the charts, as he connected with 11 different pass catchers overall. However, Allen and the offense simply came up short late, with the star signal-caller failing to convert a fourth-down play near the goal line late in the contest and then failing to down the ball before time ran out after a completion to Isiah McKenzie. Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports Allen also noted after the game that he'd taken a helmet or face mask to his hand late in the game but was "fine."
Sep 19, 2022
Throws four TDs in three quarters
Allen completed 26 of 38 passes for 317 yards and four touchdowns in Monday's 41-7 win over the Titans. He added 10 yards on one rushing attempt.
ANALYSIS
Allen capped the opening drive with an 11-yard touchdown pass to fullback Reggie Gilliam for Buffalo's seventh consecutive opening drive touchdown in a regular season or playoff game. The Bills moved the ball well again on the next drive but turned it over on downs in Tennessee territory. A field goal followed by a four-yard Allen touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs in the second quarter gave the Bills a 17-7 lead heading into halftime, and Allen proceeded to put the game out of reach in the third quarter with touchdowns of 46 and 14 yards to Diggs before getting the rest of the night off. Allen has a 7:2 TD:INT through the air and a rushing touchdown heading into a Week 3 road clash with the AFC East rival Dolphins.
Sep 8, 2022
Stellar in season-opening win
Allen completed 26 of 31 passes for 297 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in the Bills' 31-10 win over the Rams on Thursday night. He also rushed 10 times for 56 yards and another score.
ANALYSIS
Allen came out of the gates very hot, completing a career-best 10 straight passes to open the contest. The star signal-caller didn't slow down much the rest of the way, either, despite throwing a pair of interceptions and taking two sacks. Allen averaged 9.6 yards per attempt and showed excellent downfield awareness by hitting Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs for scoring tosses of 26 and 53 yards in the first and fourth quarters, respectively. The fifth-year pro's rushing touchdown was also very noteworthy, as he capped off a marathon 13-play, 89-yard march with a diving four-yard scamper on which he got the ball over the plane while fighting through a tackle in mid-air. Allen's start was nearly perfect, and given the lofty expectations surrounding him and his team this season, it's hard not to contemplate that it might ultimately prove to portend an MVP season. Allen will look to take on the tough task of putting together an even better encore effort with plenty of rest, as the Bills don't return to action until
Aug 24, 2022
To sit preseason finale
Allen will not play in Friday's final preseason game against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Allen looked sharp Saturday against the Broncos in limited action, so there's no reason to risk anything with the franchise QB. Case Keenum and Matt Barkley are the only other quarterbacks on the roster, so those two are likely to split time again against Carolina.
Aug 20, 2022
Impressive in preseason showing
Allen completed three of three pass attempts for 45 yards and one touchdown in Buffalo's preseason game against Denver on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Allen's 28-yard touchdown pass to Gabriel Davis was a classic Allen play -- extending the play from the pass rush before firing off a downfield strike with barely any setup time. The Bills offense by all accounts is a well-tuned machine with a variety of weapons to make the most of Allen's abilities, giving him a strong chance to go three years in a row as the top fantasy football quarterback.
Aug 18, 2022
Playing this weekend
Allen and other starters will play a "healthy amount" in Saturday's preseason game against Denver, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
There's a good chance this is the only action Allen sees all preseason, giving him a chance to work with new offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey in a game setting. There should already be some level of comfort, considering Dorsey was the Bills' QBs coach the past two years and now leads an offense in which 10 of the 11 projected starters are returning players from last year.
Aug 11, 2022
Won't play Saturday
Allen will not play in Saturday's preseason game against Indianapolis.
ANALYSIS
Some teams will play their starters in the first week of the preseason, but it's the exception rather than the norm, especially for veteran clubs with a reasonable degree of continuity. The Bills have that even with former OC Brian Daboll departing for New York in the offseason, as new OC Ken Dorsey was an internal promotion and will still be working with Allen, Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, Devin Singletary and Dawson Knox, among others. The big offseason additions were oft-injured slot receiver Jamison Crowder and rookie RB James Cook.
Jul 5, 2022
Comfortable with new OC
Allen said verbiage and protections have remained the same under new offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, who previously served as Buffalo's QBs coach for three years, ESPN.com's Alaina Getzenberg reports.
ANALYSIS
Dorsey replaces Brian Daboll, now head coach of the Giants. Had Daboll not left, Dorsey likely would've, as his work in Buffalo put him on the fast track for an OC job. The Bills still have more continuity than most teams, with Allen throwing to fellow holdovers Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, Isaiah McKenzie and TE Dawson Knox, while the new additions are slot receiver Jamison Crowder, backup tight end O.J. Howard and fifth-round rookie wideout Khalil Shakir. The team did part ways with Emmanuel Sanders and Cole Beasley, both of whom faded last year, counting on Davis and the other young guys to step up in 2022. Dorsey could try to get his RBs more involved in the passing game after Buffalo spent a second-round pick on James Cook, but it'll likely be Diggs and Davis leading the way as preferred targets for Allen and his cannon of a right arm.
Jan 24, 2022
Late heroics not enough
Allen completed 27 of 37 passes for 329 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday's 42-36 overtime loss to the Chiefs. He added 68 yards on 11 rushing attempts and threw a two-point conversion.
ANALYSIS
Allen did most of his damage throwing the ball to Gabriel Davis, who finished with 201 receiving yards and caught all four of Allen's touchdown passes. After scoring connections of 18 and 75 yards in the first half, Allen found Davis for a 27-yard touchdown with 1:54 remaining in the fourth quarter. A two-point conversion to the otherwise quiet Stefon Diggs gave the Bills a 29-26 lead, kicking off a wild sequence that saw the two teams combine for 25 points in the final 1:54 of regulation. Allen added a 19-yard touchdown to Davis during that sequence, but the Chiefs kicked a game-tying field goal as time expired. It felt like whichever team got the ball first in overtime would win, and that's exactly what happened, as the Chiefs marched it down the field for a game-winning touchdown after winning the toss, ending Allen's season with a loss at Arrowhead Stadium for the second consecutive season.
Jan 16, 2022
Five TD passes in wild-card win
Allen completed 21 of 25 passes for 308 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions during the Bills' 47-17 win over the Patriots in an AFC wild-card matchup Saturday night. He also rushed six times for 66 yards.
ANALYSIS
Allen spearheaded an unforgettable offensive performance by the Bills, one in which the team set a new postseason record with seven touchdown drives in their first seven possessions. The fourth-year signal-caller capped off five of them with touchdown tosses to Dawson Knox (twice), Emmanuel Sanders, Gabriel Davis and Tommy Doyle, and he became the third player in the Super Bowl era with at least 150 passing yards and 50 rushing yards in a single half of a playoff game. Allen's 84% completion rate on the night also qualified as the highest by a quarterback with 25 or more attempts in a playoff game since Aaron Rodgers' 86.1% figure in a 2010 divisional-round game. With this momentous, confidence-building performance under his belt, Allen heads into the divisional round with an abundance of momentum as he and his teammates prepare to either visit the Chiefs or host the Bengals next weekend.
Jan 10, 2022
Puts game away late Sunday
Allen completed 24 of 45 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns while gaining 63 rushing yards on five carries in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Jets.
ANALYSIS
The Bills had trouble putting the game away until the fourth quarter, when Allen led his team to two touchdown drives. The victory locked up a second straight AFC East title for Buffalo, and Allen finishes the regular season with a 36:15 TD:INT and 4,407 passing yards, numbers just shy of his production through the air last season despite playing one more game, and a career-high 763 rushing yards. The Bills will host the arch-rival Patriots next Saturday in the wild-card round.
Jan 2, 2022
Overcomes errors in win
Allen completed 11 of 26 passes for 120 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions in the Bills' 29-15 win over the Falcons on Sunday. He also rushed 15 times for 81 yards and two touchdowns and threw a two-point conversion pass.
ANALYSIS
Allen's passing line tells the story of what an atrocious day through the air it was for the talented signal-caller, a surprising development given the relatively favorable matchup presented by the Falcons defense. However, as ugly as Allen's performance was from a pure football perspective, it was a solid one from a fantasy standpoint thanks to his one- and four-yard touchdown rushes in the first quarter. Allen's passing yardage total was his lowest of the season and his third sub-200-yard effort of the campaign overall, and he'll certainly be aiming to go into the postseason on an exponentially better note when he faces the Jets in Week 18.
Dec 26, 2021
Tosses three TDs to topple Patriots
Allen completed 30 of 47 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 33-21 win over New England. He added 64 yards on 12 rushing attempts.
ANALYSIS
Allen capped Buffalo's first drive with a three-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah McKenzie on fourth down, but he couldn't replicate that success on a 4th-and-goal attempt from the one-yard line in the second quarter, as he threw a third consecutive incompletion on a ball that bounced off Emmanuel Sanders. He bounced back later in the second quarter with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs, giving the Bills a 17-7 halftime lead. Allen's third touchdown of the afternoon was a two-yard strike to Dawson Knox, which completed the scoring and put the game away with 2:30 remaining in the fourth quarter. Buffalo's back in the driver's seat in the AFC East heading into a Week 17 game against Atlanta, and Allen's 34:12 TD:INT is among the leading reasons for the team's success.
Dec 24, 2021
Turns in full week of practice
Allen (foot) has no injury designation for Sunday's game against the Patriots after practicing fully Wednesday through Friday.
ANALYSIS
The foot injury Allen suffered in the Week 14 overtime loss to Tampa Bay initially looked like it might threaten his availability for Week 15, but the quarterback returned to full participation in practice last Friday, then started and finished with 210 passing yards and three touchdowns through the air in Sunday's 31-14 win over the Panthers. Allen's usage on the ground (three carries for 24 yards) against Carolina was lighter than it had been in recent weeks, but now that he's gotten a week of full practices under his belt, the Bills could loosen the reins a bit. Rather than worrying about a potential setback with the foot, Allen's greater concern for Week 16 is the fact that he won't have two of his top pass catchers at his disposal in a matchup with a tough New England defense. Slot man Cole Beasley (illness) and outside receiver Gabriel Davis (illness) are both ineligible to play this week after landing on the reserve/COVID-19 list, though the return of Emmanuel Sanders (knee) from a one-game absence sho
Dec 23, 2021
Ready for huge Week 16
Allen (foot) was able to practice fully Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Allen was a much more dicey proposition for the Bills' Week 15 contest after injuring his toe/foot in a crushing overtime loss to the Buccaneers in Week 14, but he came out of the most recent game none the worse for the wear and likely won't have a designation this weekend. This will be one of the more important regular-season games of Allen's young career, as the winner will be in position to take the AFC East crown. Allen is likely to be missing one major weapon in Cole Beasley (COVID-19), but it also looks like veteran Emmanuel Sanders (knee) will be ready to step back in following a one-week absence.
Dec 19, 2021
Scores three times
Allen completed 19 of 34 pass attempts for 210 yards, three touchdowns and one interception while running for 24 yards on three carries against Carolina on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Allen generally did well while playing through the foot tweak he suffered in Week 14, especially given the pressure applied by the Carolina pass rush. Perhaps Allen's box score wasn't particularly clean in this game, but the Carolina defense is often tough against the pass, so between that and the foot issue Allen deserves lenient grading. A road game against the Patriots is one of the worst-case scenarios for a quarterback, and the pass blocking might be an ongoing concern for Allen, but at least a game like Sunday's serves as reminder that Allen can win even in difficult circumstances.
Dec 17, 2021
Cleared to face Panthers
Allen (foot) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Panthers after practicing fully Friday.
ANALYSIS
Coach Sean McDermott liked what he saw from Allen in practice this week, saying Allen's "able to execute the job description that goes along with the quarterback position," per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN. Allen may be a bit more reluctant than usual to make plays with his legs after topping the 100-yard rushing mark last week, but his proficiency as a passer should keep Allen firmly in the QB1 mix, especially since he'll remain a power running option by the goal line despite his bothersome foot.
Dec 17, 2021
Expected to play Sunday
Coach Sean McDermott said Friday on WGR 550 radio that Allen (foot) is expected to start this Sunday against the Panthers, Chris Jenkins of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen suffered the injury in the second half of Sunday's comeback effort that fell short in an overtime loss to Tampa Bay, but he's expected to practice fully Friday. We'll see if he gets an injury designation ahead of the contest, though McDermott rarely oversells anything so it looks like the star quarterback will be out there a week after becoming one of three players in NFL history to throw for 300 yards, run for 100 and throw multiple TD passes in the same game.
Dec 16, 2021
Still limited in practice
Allen (toe) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bills are viewing Allen as day-to-day while he deals with a mild case of turf toe on his left foot, but the early expectation is that he'll be ready to go for Sunday's game against the Panthers. Ideally, Allen will upgrade to full participation in Friday's practice to put to rest any concern about his availability, but if not, he could carry a questionable designation into the weekend. Mitchell Trubisky is also taking some of the first-team reps in practice this week, staying prepared for a potential starting assignment if the Bills elect to hold Allen out Sunday.
Dec 15, 2021
Will be limited Wednesday
Coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday that Allen (toe) will be limited in practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bills are hosting a walk-through practice Wednesday, rather than a full contact session. Still, it's encouraging to see Allen taking on at least limited work after McDermott labeled him day-to-day with a left foot sprain. As Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com confirms, Mitchell Trubisky will take on increased practice action by handling the reps Allen cannot. Allen will have two more chances to upgrade his activity ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers.
Dec 13, 2021
Gets day-to-day label from coach
Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Monday that Allen is day-to-day with a sprained left foot following Sunday's 33-27 overtime loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
McDermott's description of the injury mostly aligns with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network's report from earlier Monday, which indicated that Allen is tending to a mild case of turf toe. Per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com, Allen was sporting a walking boot on his left foot in his postgame press conference Sunday, but the quarterback suggested he wasn't concerned about the injury and was optimistic he would be ready to play next weekend against Carolina. In any case, the Bills are likely to have backup Mitchell Trubisky take at least some reps with the first-team offense this week, allowing him to stay prepared for the start if Allen fails to progress as anticipated. Even if Allen enters the upcoming weekend without an injury designation, the Bills could look to scale back his workload on the ground to better preserve his health. In addition to throwing for 308 yards and two touchdowns against Tampa Bay, Allen provided 109 yards and another score on the ground to finish with one of the best fantasy lines of his caree
Dec 13, 2021
Mild case of turf toe, per report
Allen, who had a walking boot on his lower left leg after Sunday's 33-27 loss to the Buccaneers, is reportedly dealing with a mild case of turf toe, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
ANALYSIS
Per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN, the QB is slated to undergo tests Monday but for his part Allen, who continued to play on after suffering the injury, says he doesn't "think it's going to be a big deal." For now, consider the signal-caller day-to-day in advance of the Bills' game against the Panthers this coming weekend.
Dec 12, 2021
Nearly helps pull off comeback
Allen completed 36 of 54 passes for 308 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Bills' 33-27 overtime loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also rushed 12 times for 109 yards and another score. Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN reports that Allen sported a walking boot at his post-game press conference, suggesting that he picked up a leg injury at some point in the game.
ANALYSIS
Allen and the rest of the offense only got three points on the scoreboard during a first half in which Buffalo punted four times and the third-year quarterback threw an interception. However, after the Bills' first drive of the second half ended on downs, Allen was able to lead a trio of nine-play touchdown drives over the next four possessions, along with a 14-play, 70-yard march that culminated in a game-tying field goal. Although the Bills ultimately went three-and-out on their sole overtime possession, Allen's day was certainly an unqualified success from a fantasy perspective and included his first 100-yard rushing effort of the season, as well as his first touchdown on the ground since Week 8. Allen's first opportunity to put the disappointing loss behind him and attempt to firm up his team's increasingly tenuous playoff positioning comes in a favorable Week 15 home matchup against the Panthers, assuming further tests on his injured leg don't reveal damage that would require him to miss time.
Dec 6, 2021
Throws touchdown despite wind
Allen completed 15 of 30 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 14-10 loss to the Patriots. He also rushed six times for 39 yards but lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Allen unsurprisingly wasn't particularly efficient on a night when wind gusts around 50 miles per hour made it extremely difficult to throw. Compared to opposing quarterback Mac Jones' mere three attempts, however, Allen had far more chances through the air. He capitalized on a New England fumble by throwing a 14-yard touchdown to Gabriel Davis in the first quarter, but that only came after a bad handoff exchange between he and tailback Matt Breida resulted in a fumble of Allen's own. While he managed to compensate with decent yardage on the ground, leading the Bills in the category, the inclement weather combined with a stingy Patriots defense restricted Allen's overall output.
Nov 25, 2021
Highly efficient despite mistakes
Allen completed 23 of 28 passes for 260 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions in Thursday's 31-6 win over the Saints. He also rushed eight times for 43 yards.
ANALYSIS
Coming back from a stretch where he'd thrown five interceptions over the previous three games, Allen started off the contest hot by leading a 10-play, 65-yard march that he capped off with a seven-yard touchdown toss to Dawson Knox. He eventually helmed another possession that ended in a field goal before short-circuiting the Bills' last two drives of the first half with interceptions in New Orleans territory. Allen would atone in the third quarter by leading scoring marches of 75 and 53 yards on Buffalo's first two possessions, capping those off with scoring passes to Stefon Diggs (five yards) and Knox (24 yards). Allen would eventually close out the scoring for either club with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Matt Breida, making it a stellar fantasy effort overall. While the continued turnovers are a concern, Allen heads into a Week 13 showdown with the Patriots on Monday night, Dec. 6 with plenty of momentum stemming from Thursday's effort.

Allen was forced out of Sunday's game against the Colts with a shoulder injury, Tad Dickman of the Jaguars' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Allen had an excellent rookie campaign, as he recorded 44 tackles and 10.5 sacks to live up to his first-round pedigree. It's unsettled how severe the 22-year-old's injury is, but there doesn't seem to be concern about his status for the 2020 season at this time.

Practices in limited capacity
Allen (shoulder) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Allen was forced out of Week 15's win over the Raiders due to a stinger, so it's encouraging to note that he isn't being held out of practice entirely. The rookie first-round pick will have two more opportunities to participate without limitations ahead of Sunday's game in Atlanta.

Clear of concussion
Allen (concussion) isn't listed on Wednesday's injury report.
ANALYSIS
Allen exited Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay to be evaluated for a concussion, but he apparently didn't illustrate any symptoms since he isn't present on the practice report. The rookie first-round pick has nine sacks and two forced fumbles through 12 games despite mostly playing in a rotational role.

Full practice Friday
Allen (knee) was a full participant in Friday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Allen started the week with two straight limited sessions, but he looks back to full health ahead of Sunday's tilt against the Buccaneers. Barring any setbacks, expect the rookie first-round pick to play his usual role in Jacksonville's pass rush.

Limited Wednesday
Allen (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Allen apparently sustained the injury during Sunday's loss to the Titans, as he played season-low 23 defensive snaps. The fact the 22-year-old is participating in practice this early in the week should give him a solid chance of suiting up Week 13.
Nov 26, 2019
Pops up on injury report
Allen was listed on Tuesday's injury report with a knee injury.
ANALYSIS
Allen recorded a season-low 43-percent snap share during this past Sunday's loss to the Titans, and his practice status will likely be monitored as the week progresses. If he's unable to shake the affliction by Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, the Jaguars' pass rush would take a major hit since the rookie leads the team with eight sacks.
