Struggles in tough matchup Sunday
Jackson completed 14 of 25 pass attempts for 193 yards and two interceptions while adding 10 rushing yards on four carries in Sunday's 23-16 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Jackson popped up on the injury report after missing one practice due to knee soreness, but his status for Sunday's tilt was never in jeopardy. The 28-year-old did not appear to be hampered by his knee, instead falling victim to a dominant performance by Myles Garrett (4.0 sacks) and the Cleveland Browns' defense. Jackson and the Ravens got the last laugh after earning the comeback victory on the back of Derrick Henry's excellent rushing day (18-103-1). Look for a healthy Jackson to let loose next Sunday against a Jets' defense missing much of its star power after cleaning house at the trade deadline.

Confirmed as Sunday starter
Coach John Harbaugh confirmed Friday that Jackson (knee) will start Sunday's game against the Browns, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jackson, who missed Wednesday's practice due to a sore knee, but then practiced fully Thursday, is a "full go" for Sunday's contest. The star QB may not have WR Rashod Bateman (ankle) to throw to Sunday, however, a context that could lead to Devontez Walker being active for the first time since Week 5, as well as more action for DeAndre Hopkins and/or Tylan Wallace, per Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site.
Nov 13, 2025
Logs full practice Thursday
Jackson (knee) returned to a full practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was deemed a 'DNP' on Wednesday due to knee soreness, but a day later he was able to work fully and moved around well in the process, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN, which paves the way for Jackson to play Sunday against the Browns. In his last outing, the star QB completed 17 of his 29 pass attempts for 176 yards with a touchdown, while adding nine carries for 36 yards in the Ravens' Week 10 win over the Vikings.
Nov 13, 2025
Back at practice Thursday
Jackson (knee) returned to practice Thursday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson didn't practice Wednesday due to knee soreness, but in his return to work a day later, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com notes that the star QB "moved around well during media viewing and looks set to start Sunday" against the Browns. The Ravens' upcoming injury report will clarify Jackson's official participation level, but his presence at Thursday's session nonetheless bodes well for his Week 11 status.
Nov 12, 2025
May practice Thursday
Jackson missed Wednesday's practice due to knee soreness but may resume practicing as soon as Thursday, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh downplayed the knee injury, telling reporters that Jackson "should be ok" and may return to practice in short order, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. A return on Thursday, even in a limited capacity, would put Jackson on track to play this Sunday against the Browns.
Nov 12, 2025
Not practicing Wednesday
Jackson (undisclosed) isn't practicing Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson finished up Sunday's win over the Vikings, but Hensley notes that the star QB took some hard hits in the contest. In any case, the Ravens' upcoming practice report will reveal whether or not Jackson is dealing with an injury. It's also possible that he was tending to a personal matter or was given a rest day.
Nov 9, 2025
Held quiet by Vikings
Jackson completed 17 of 29 passes for 176 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 27-19 win over the Vikings. He added nine rushes for 36 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson helped move the Ravens' offense effectively for most of the game, but he and the rest of the unit repeatedly stalled near the goal line. He managed to break through with a two-yard touchdown pass early in the fourth quarter to Mark Andrews to account for his only score of the game. This performance marked Jackson's second game this season with only one touchdown, though he has found the end zone at least three times in his remaining four contests.
Oct 30, 2025
Four TD tosses in return
Jackson (hamstring) completed 18 of 23 passes for 204 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions while adding five rushes for 14 yards in the Ravens' 28-6 win over the Dolphins on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Making his return from a three-game absence, Jackson turned in one of his signature efficient performances in front of his hometown crowd. The two-time MVP didn't show any evidence of rust, throwing a two-yard touchdown pass to Mark Andrews to cap off a short second possession for Baltimore set up by a Tahj Washington fumble. Jackson connected with Andrews again from 20 yards out in the second quarter before launching scoring strikes to Charlie Kolar (three yards) and Rashod Bateman (nine yards) in the third quarter on the way to a comfortable win. The game marked Jackson's second of four touchdown passes this season, as well as his fourth with a 70.0 percent or better completion rate. Apparently back to full health, Jackson regains his status as an elite fantasy option heading into an intriguing Week 10 road interconference matchup against the Vikings on Sunday, Nov. 9.
Oct 29, 2025
Cleared for Thursday return
Jackson (hamstring) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game at Miami.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens listed Jackson as a full practice participant Monday through Wednesday, with the QB saying Tuesday that he's "100 percent healthy" and ready to play. The final injury report confirms that Jackson will suit up for the first time since Week 4, facing a Miami defense that shut down the Falcons this past Sunday after struggling mightily for most of September and October.
Oct 28, 2025
On track to return vs. Miami
Jackson (hamstring) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Jackson noted after Tuesday's practice that he is "100 percent healthy" and is trending toward making his return from a three-game absence against the Dolphins on Sunday, per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network. Jackson has been recovering from a hamstring injury that he sustained in Week 4 against the Chiefs, which may still impact his mobility in his return Week 9. With Jackson back as the Ravens' QB1, Tyler Huntley will revert to backup duties while Cooper Rush serves as the emergency third quarterback against Miami.
Oct 27, 2025
Listed as full Monday
Jackson (hamstring) was a full participant at Monday's walkthrough.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's listed activity level to begin Week 9 prep backs up language from coach John Harbaugh earlier Monday, when he told Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, "I feel very confident about it. I expect him to be out there Thursday." Jackson thus appears to have a good chance to put an end to a three-game absence due to a right hamstring injury for the Ravens' Week 9 contest at Miami.
Oct 27, 2025
Coach confident of imminent return
Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that he's "very confident" Jackson (hamstring) will return to action Week 9 at Miami, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. "I expect him to be out there Thursday," Harbaugh added.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens have yet to produce their first injury report of the week, which will emerge later Monday, but Jackson appears on course to put an end to a three-game absence due to a right hamstring injury. His listed activity level Monday will provide further insight into Jackson's potential to play again.
Oct 25, 2025
Ruled out for Week 8
Jackson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's practice participation Friday was downgraded from full to limited, and he will miss a third straight game due to a hamstring injury he picked up in Week 4 against Kansas City. Cooper Rush got the start in Weeks 5 and 6 in Jackson's absence, but it will be Tyler Huntley -- who the Ravens signed from the practice squad to the active roster Friday -- getting the start against Chicago. Schefter relays that Jackson is expected to make his return in Week 9 against the Dolphins on Thursday.
Oct 25, 2025
Might not play Week 8
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relays that Jackson (hamstring) may not be ready to return against the Bears on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was able to practice in full Friday after opening the week with back-to-back limited sessions. However, Rapoport notes that the eighth-year quarterback ran the scout team during Friday's practice, an indication that Jackson may not be ready to return from a hamstring injury until the Ravens' Week 9 road clash against the Dolphins on Thursday. Official word on Jackson's status for Week 8 should be closely monitored prior to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff; if he's inactive, then Tyler Huntley -- who was signed from the practice squad to the Ravens' active roster Friday -- would start against Chicago while Cooper Rush serves as the backup.
Oct 24, 2025
Questionable after full practice
Jackson (right hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears after practicing fully Friday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson, who last played Sept. 28 against the Chiefs, was limited Wednesday and Thursday before returning to a full session Friday. While his participation level is encouraging, the QB's official 'questionable' designation makes his status worth monitoring ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Look for added intel regarding his Week 8 status to arrive before then via national reporters like ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, but if Jackson ends up remaining sidelined this weekend, Tyler Huntley, rather than Cooper Rush, would step in as Baltimore's starting signal-caller.
Oct 24, 2025
Works fully Friday, per coach
Jackson (right hamstring) was a full practice participant Friday, according to coach John Harbaugh.
ANALYSIS
After being limited Wednesday and Thursday, Jackson is trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's game against the Bears. The Ravens' upcoming injury report will reveal both the star QB's official participation level Friday, as well as whether he heads into the weekend with an injury designation or cleared for Week 8 action. In the event that Jackson ends up sidelined this weekend, however, Harbaugh noted that the team would turn to Tyler Huntley (who is currently on the practice squad), rather than Cooper Rush, who has gone 0-2 while filling in as Baltimore's starting signal-caller.
Oct 24, 2025
Practicing again Friday
Jackson (right hamstring) practiced Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson logged limited practices both Wednesday and Thursday, with the QB's official Friday participation level slated to add context with regard to his chances of returning to action Sunday against the Bears. Jackson last played Sept. 28 against Kansas City, with Cooper Rush having gone 0-2 as the Ravens' starter since then.
Oct 23, 2025
Another limited practice Thursday
Jackson (right hamstring) remained limited at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Back-to-back limited practices are encouraging with regard to Jackson's chances of returning to action Sunday against the Bears, however the star QB will presumably need to practice fully Friday in order to head into the weekend without an injury designation. Per Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, offensive coordinator Todd Monken noted after Thursday's session that Jackson looked "really good" and took a step forward, while implying that the QB's Week 8 availability is in his own hands. "If he says he's ready to go, I'm ready to go," Monken added.
Oct 23, 2025
At practice again Thursday
Jackson (right hamstring) participated in Thursday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After logging a limited session Wednesday, Jackson's continued presence at Thursday's practice is an encouraging sign as Sunday's game against the Bears approaches. Per Hensley, it appears as though the QB will remain limited, with the Ravens' upcoming injury report destined to reveal his official participation level.
Oct 22, 2025
Logs limited practice
Jackson was officially limited at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
In his first practice since injuring his right hamstring in a Sept. 28 loss to Kansas City, Jackson was eased back into the mix, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, while taking QB reps along with Cooper Rush and Tyler Huntley. When asked about Jackson's status for Sunday's game against the Bears, coach John Harbaugh noted Wednesday that "it's hard to put a number on it. I don't have any shareable injury intelligence." Jackson now has two more chances to practice fully before the Ravens post their Week 8 injury designations Friday afternoon.
Oct 22, 2025
Back at practice
Jackson (hamstring) was present for Wednesday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Hensley, this marks the first time Jackson has been on the field since he injured his hamstring Sep 28. In his return to the mix, it appears as though Jackson will be limited in practice, with the QB's official participation level slated to be revealed after the session concludes. In his absence, the Ravens -- who had a Week 7 bye -- have gone 0-2 with Cooper Rush as their starter.
Oct 20, 2025
Remains absent from practice
Jackson (hamstring) is not on the field for Monday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson remains sidelined at practice despite the Ravens coming off a Week 7 bye, and coach John Harbaugh having said that "the hope" is that the franchise quarterback will be back in the lineup for Sunday's matchup against Chicago, per Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com. That said, Baltimore's first official practice of Week 8 will occur Wednesday, so the team may simply be taking a cautious approach with Jackson's activity level until that date. In any case, fantasy managers will need to monitor Jackson's practice status closely, as if he were unable to suit up against the Bears backup quarterback Cooper Rush would draw another start. Jackson hasn't logged practice activity since injuring his hamstring Week 4 against the Chiefs.
Oct 12, 2025
Expected back after bye
Coach John Harbaugh noted after Sunday's loss to the Rams that Jackson (hamstring) is expected to return to action in Week 8, following the Ravens' bye, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson has missed Baltimore's last two games, but Harbaugh indicated Sunday that his hope and expectation is that the star QB will be available for the team's Oct. 26 game against the Bears. The looming return of Jackson, among others, in Week 8 offers hope that a turnaround can be engineering by the Ravens, who head into their bye week with a 1-5 record. Either way, if Jackson is healthy, he belongs in fantasy lineups.
Oct 10, 2025
Won't play Sunday
Jackson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
With Jackson set to miss his second straight game, Cooper Rush is in line to draw another start at QB for the Ravens this weekend. With the team on bye in Week 7, Jackson will target a potential return to action Oct. 26 against the Bears.
Oct 10, 2025
Not practicing Friday
Jackson (hamstring) isn't practicing Friday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
With Jackson in line to log his third straight 'DNP' this week, the star QB is trending toward missing Sunday's game against the Rams. Such an outcome could be solidified once Friday's final injury report is posted, and in that event Cooper Rush would be slated to handle another starting turn for the Ravens this weekend before they head into a Week 7 bye.
Oct 9, 2025
Misses another practice Thursday
Jackson (hamstring) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson also didn't practice Wednesday, and at this stage Hensley notes that it's trending toward the star QB missing his second straight start Sunday against the Rams. Friday's final injury report will reveal whether Jackson has a chance to suit up this weekend, but if he's ruled out by the Ravens, Cooper Rush would be on track for another starting turn for the before the team heads into a Week 7 bye.
Oct 8, 2025
Still not practicing
Jackson (hamstring) remained sidelined at practice Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson didn't practice last week before being ruled out for this past Sunday's 44-10 loss to the Texans. At this stage, the star QB's Week 6 status is cloudy, with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggesting earlier Wednesday that Jackson seems to be facing an uphill battle to be available this weekend against the Rams. If he ends up out again, then Cooper Rush would presumably be in line for another start at QB for the Ravens, who will head into their bye week after facing Los Angeles.
Oct 5, 2025
Week 6 in question
With the Ravens off in Week 7, there's a reasonable chance that Jackson (hamstring) also sits out in Week 6 against the Rams, though the Ravens haven't gone so far to say that's their intention, Jay Glazer reported on Fox NFL Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens, or really any other team, rarely disclose anything more than they really have to reveal. The Ravens are already off to a 1-3 start and are home underdogs to the Texans, given the injury to Jackson and many other Ravens players on the defensive side of the ball.
Oct 3, 2025
Ruled out for Sunday
Jackson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Since being forced out of this past Sunday's loss to Kansas City, Jackson hasn't practiced, and now that he's officially been deemed out versus Houston, Cooper Rush is slated to start in his place this weekend, with Tyler Huntley a candidate to be elevated from the practice squad. The star QB's next chance to play will arrive Oct. 12 against the Rams, but if Jackson's hamstring issue doesn't improve in short order, the team could elect to err on the side of caution, with a Week 7 bye on the horizon.
Oct 3, 2025
Still not practicing
Jackson (hamstring) wasn't spotted at practice Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson also didn't practice Wednesday and Thursday, so the star QB is trending toward an absence from Sunday's game against the Texans. Friday's final injury report will reveal whether he's ruled out or the door is left open at all for him to suit up this weekend. If Jackson isn't able to face Houston, Cooper Rush would be on track to start in his place, with Tyler Huntley a candidate to be elevated from the practice squad.
Oct 1, 2025
Not practicing Wednesday
Jackson (hamstring) isn't practicing Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A hamstring injury forced Jackson out of this past Sunday's loss to Kansas City, which clouds the star QB's status for this weekend's game against the Texans. While coach John Harbaugh has yet to provide an update on Jackson, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun suggested Tuesday that the signal-caller wasn't likely to face Houston, and could miss two-to-three weeks. If Jackson is indeed sidelined Sunday, Cooper Rush would draw the start in his place.
Sep 30, 2025
Expected to sit out Week 5
Jackson (hamstring) is likely to miss Sunday's game against the Texans and could be out for up to 2-to-3 weeks, two sources tell Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens have been mum regarding the severity of the hamstring concern that forced Jackson out in the third quarter of Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Chiefs, but the quarterback appears in line to miss his first game for injury-related reasons since 2022. According to the report, Jackson still plans to try and see if he can attempt to play through the injury this Sunday, but if he remains inhibited by his hamstring throughout the week of practice, the Ravens would turn to Cooper Rush to direct the offense against Houston. The expected loss of Jackson would be a major hit to the 1-3 Ravens in their matchup with the Texans' top-ranked scoring defense, which has allowed just 12.8 points per game through the first four weeks.
Sep 30, 2025
Severity of injury not yet known
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Monday that the severity of the right hamstring injury Jackson sustained in Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Chiefs remains uncertain, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports. "There's nothing that looks like it's season-ending by any stretch," Harbaugh said, though he acknowledged Jackson wouldn't have returned to the Week 4 contest even if the game had been more competitive.
ANALYSIS
Jackson took his final snap with 8:10 left in the third quarter, when he was sacked by George Karlaftis before the Ravens finished off the drive with a field goal to cut their deficit to 14 points. Harbaugh said that he was unsure which play resulted in Jackson tweaking his hamstring, adding that the quarterback may have suffered the injury on an accumulation of plays. Jackson is likely to be sent in for further medical testing before the Ravens have a better idea regarding the extent of his hamstring injury and a potential timeline for his return. Cooper Rush finished the Week 4 loss under center and would be in line to start this Sunday against the Texans in the event Jackson is unable to play. Jackson hasn't missed a game due to injury since 2022, when a knee issue kept him out for the final five contests of the regular season as well as the Ravens' wild-card round loss to the Bengals.
Sep 28, 2025
Hurts hamstring Sunday
Jackson is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Chiefs with a hamstring injury.
ANALYSIS
Prior to his exit from Sunday's contest, Jackson completed 14 of his 20 passing attempts for 147 yards with a TD and a pick, and carried six times for 48 yards. In his absence, Cooper Rush is in at QB for the Ravens.
Sep 22, 2025
Impressive production in home loss
Jackson completed 21 of 27 passes for 288 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed seven times for 35 yards in the Ravens' 38-30 loss to the Lions on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's stat line was practically pristine, with the two-time MVP finishing the night boasting a 148.3 QB rating. However, Jackson wasn't able to help the Ravens keep pace with an aggressive Lions offense that successfully converted two fourth-quarter fourth-down opportunities. Jackson did pad his numbers somewhat on Baltimore's last drive, a possession he capped off with a 27-yard touchdown pass to Mark Andrews, his second of the night to the veteran tight end. Jackson also connected with Rashod Bateman for a three-yard scoring strike just before halftime, and he'll head into a Week 4 road showdown against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs with stellar 9:0 TD:INT through his first three games of 2025.
Sep 14, 2025
Rare breakout against Browns
Jackson completed 19 of 29 passes for 225 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions while adding two rushes for 13 yards in the Ravens' 41-17 win over the Browns on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
A Browns defense that has traditionally given Jackson some trouble wasn't able to quite contain him as it had in the past, particularly during a second half in which Baltimore's offense compiled 24 points overall. Jackson contributed directly to 21 of those points with touchdown passes of two and 24 yards to Devontez Walker and a 23-yard scoring strike to DeAndre Hopkins. That trio of TD tosses was preceded by a 15-yard connection with Tylan Wallace in the second quarter, giving Jackson his first tally of at least three scoring passes since Week 15 of last season. Jackson has opened 2025 with a 6:0 TD:INT and next faces a Lions team coming off a rout of the Bears in a Week 3 interconference home showdown on Monday night, Sept. 22.
Sep 8, 2025
Scores thrice on SNF
Jackson completed 14 of 19 pass attempts for 209 yards and two touchdowns while adding 70 rushing yards and a third score on six carries in Sunday's 41-40 loss to Buffalo.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was nearly flawless commanding the Ravens' offense on Sunday Night Football, but it wasn't enough to lift his team over the Bills in an instant classic. The 28-year-old was able to help fantasy managers with his three combined touchdowns, a mark he reached an impressive nine times in 2024. Those who spent a premium pick on the dual-threat superstar have to be feeling good about their QB heading into the Ravens' home opener against the Browns next Sunday.
Sep 3, 2025
Not on injury report
Jackson (foot) isn't on the Week 1 injury report.
ANALYSIS
As expected, after Jackson was mostly healthy throughout the offseason and training camp, with his lone interruption being a minor foot injury in late August. He was merely stepped on, and returned to practice a few days later, giving him two full weeks to get ready for Sunday's revenge matchup at Buffalo. The official injury report confirms Jackson is at full strength heading into the regular season.
Aug 25, 2025
Back at practice Monday
Jackson (foot) returned to practice Monday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The star QB left last Wednesday's practice early because a teammate stepped on his foot, and since then the team has downplayed the issue. Jackson's presence at Monday's practice should ease any lingering concerns on that front, though it's unclear if he'll be deemed a full participant Monday.
Aug 23, 2025
Should practice Monday
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Saturday that Jackson (foot) should resume practicing Monday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Harbaugh joked that the QB is on track to return but will only participate if he wants to. Either way, it's the latest sign Jackson avoided a serious injury after a teammate stepped on his foot Wednesday. He didn't practice Thursday but should be back early this week as Baltimore transitions from the preseason to preparing for a Week 1 road game at Buffalo.
Aug 21, 2025
Foot issue downplayed by coach
Coach John Harbaugh confirmed Thursday that Jackson is "fine" after an X-ray on the QB's foot revealed no damage, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson, who left Wednesday's practice early because a teammate stepped on his foot, was held out of Thursday's session because his foot is sore, but at this stage the issue isn't viewed as a concern by Harbaugh. Chances are, Jackson will be held out of Saturday's preseason finale against the Commanders, and if that's the case, he'll turn his focus toward preparing for the Ravens' Sept. 7 regular-season opener against the Bills.
Aug 21, 2025
Not practicing Thursday
Jackson (foot) wasn't spotted at practice Thursday, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson left Wednesday's practice early because a teammate stepped on his foot, though afterward a team spokesperson said that the QB is "fine." With Jackson not participating in Thursday's session, it doesn't see likely that he'll appear in Saturday's preseason finale against the Commanders.
Aug 20, 2025
Foot stepped on; wrist a non-issue
Jackson left Wednesday's practice early because a teammate stepped on his foot, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Initial reports from beat writers suggested Jackson's departure was due to a hand/wrist injury. He may have dealt with discomfort in that area earlier in Wednesday's practice, but a team spokesman clarified that Jackson ultimately left because his foot was stepped on. The spokesman also downplayed the incident and said Jackson is fine.
Aug 20, 2025
Exits with possible hand injury
Jackson left Wednesday's practice early with a possible hand/wrist injury, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
He reportedly stayed on the practice field for a few more plays after getting knocked down, but Jackson then left early before the rest of his teammates. Ravens coach John Harbaugh may be able to provide an update later Wednesday or Thursday.
Aug 13, 2025
Not slated to play Saturday
Jackson is not in line to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Cowboys, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Hensley, the same goes for RB Derrick Henry, as well as other front-line starters who (like Jackson and Henry) didn't play in last Thursday's preseason opener. It remains to be seen if Jackson will see any snaps in Baltimore's Aug. 23 preseason finale against the Commanders, but even if he does, it won't likely be many, as the team's priority is understandably keeping their star QB healthy ahead of Week 1.
Aug 5, 2025
Won't play Thursday
Jackson and other key starters won't play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Colts, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson didn't play at all last preseason and likely won't stay in for long if he does start the second or third exhibition. There's been no report of any health issues or missed practice time this summer, but TE Isaiah Likely (foot) hasn't been so fortunate and may miss the regular-season opener at Buffalo.
Jul 17, 2025
Set up to succeed in 2025
Jackson is entering Year 3 with offensive coordinator Todd Monken in 2025 with the most complete set of skill-position talent of his career, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
While falling short of his third MVP award last season, Jackson still managed career highs in passing yards (4,172), touchdown passes (41) and yards per attempt (8.8). He also tacked on 915 yards on the ground to surpass Michael Vick for most rushing yards for a QB in his career. Baltimore's returning offensive talent features RBs Derrick Henry and Justice Hill, WRs Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman and TEs Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, but the team added a new dimension in free agency with contested-catch artist DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins mustered a career-low six catches of 20-plus yards between the Titans and Chiefs in 2024, but Jackson so far has spoken glowingly of the 12-year pro, stating, "He is different. ... I am looking forward to throwing a lot of touchdowns to him this year." If the unit elevates its level of play further, Jackson and company could become the second offense in NFL history to surpass 4,000 yards through the air and 3,000 rushing yards in a single campaign, repeating what the Ravens di

Comes up short in playoff loss
Jackson completed 18 of 25 passes for 254 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and rushed six times for 39 yards in the Ravens' 27-25 divisional-round loss to the Bills on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's afternoon started off swimmingly with an eight-play, 73-yard march the star signal-caller capped off with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Rashod Bateman. However, Jackson badly overthrew Bateman under pressure on the next possession and then lost a fumble on a sack by Damar Hamlin to short-circuit Baltimore's following drive. The latter turnover helped lead to a Bills touchdown four plays later, but Lamar was able to battle back in the second half and threw his second touchdown pass of the evening on a dynamic play where he bought time with his legs before delivering a strike to Isaiah Likely to bring the Ravens within two. Jackson then threw a very catchable pass to Mark Andrews for the would-be game-tying two-point conversion, but the veteran tight end failed to hang on and essentially sealed the loss with his drop. The narrow defeat capped off another MVP-caliber season for the 2018 first-round pick, who completed 316 of 474 passes for a career-high 4,172 yards and 41 touchdowns across 17 regular-sea
Jan 15, 2025
Not on injury report
Jackson isn't listed on the Ravens' injury report ahead of Sunday's divisional-round game against the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, Jackson got kneed in the back during the second quarter of this past Saturday's wild-card win over the Steelers, but the star QB's practice reps weren't impacted at all Wednesday, setting the stage for him to face Buffalo on Sunday. While Jackson's status for the contest is secure, the availability of top wideout Zay Flowers (knee) -- who didn't practice -- is in question.
Jan 13, 2025
No practice limitations expected
Ravens coach John Harbaugh doesn't expect Jackson to be limited in practice this week, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson grimaced and clutched his torso at one point during the fourth quarter of Sunday's 28-14 win over the Steelers, but he never left the game and apparently doesn't have a noteworthy injury. Harbaugh said Jackson was kneed in the back during the second quarter, which might explain why the QB was in pain later on. Regardless of the specifics, Jackson is expected to practice this week and then start Sunday's game at Buffalo.

Jackson completed 16 of 21 pass attempts for 175 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 81 yards on 15 carries in Saturday's 28-14 wild-card round win over the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Jackson had his squad sitting pretty at halftime after throwing a pair of touchdown strikes to help build a 21-0 lead that Baltimore would never relinquish. The dual-threat quarterback wasn't needed much in the second half outside of some drive-extending rushes, finishing with modest fantasy numbers in a convincing victory. Expect Jackson to be leaned on more in the divisional round in potential shootouts between superstar QBs lined up against either Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills or Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.

First QB to 4,000/800 mark
Jackson completed 16 of 32 pass attempts for 217 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 63 yards on nine carries in Saturday's 35-10 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's first touchdown strike Saturday earned the signal-caller enough passing yards to become the first player in NFL history to throw for at least 4,000 yards and rush for 800 yards in a single season. The superstar QB didn't post his gaudiest stat line in his historic performance, but he still threw for multiple touchdowns for the sixth week in a row. With first place in the AFC North locked up with a Week 18 win, Jackson and the Ravens will shift their focus to hosting either the Chargers or the Steelers in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
Dec 25, 2024
Sets all-time QB rushing record
Jackson completed 10 of 15 passes for 168 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed four times for 87 yards and another score in the Ravens' 31-2 win over the Texans on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's contributions through the air were modest thanks to Derrick Henry and the defense doing the heavy lifting. However, Jackson made the most of his sparse opportunities as a passer, connecting with Isaiah Likely (nine yards) and Mark Andrews (one yard) for his pair of touchdown passes and also recording a 48-yard rush TD on his way to setting the all-time record for career rushing yards by a quarterback (6,110). Jackson and the offense appear to be peaking at the right time, considering Henry's production on the ground the last two games and Jackson's elite 27:2 TD:INT since Week 7. The Ravens will close out the regular season at home against the Browns on Sunday, Jan. 5.
Dec 21, 2024
Tosses three TDs in win
Jackson completed 15 of 23 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns with one interception in Saturday's 34-17 win over the Steelers. He added 22 rushing yards on nine carries.
ANALYSIS
Baltimore never trailed in the game as it moved back into a tie with Pittsburgh atop the AFC North. Jackson tossed his TDs to three different targets -- Isaiah Likely in the first quarter, Rashod Bateman in the second and Mark Andrews in the third -- while also leading Zay Flowers to a 100-yard performance. It was the QB's fourth straight multi-TD game, a stretch in which he's posted a scintillating 12:0 TD:INT. Jackson will look to keep rolling in Week 17 on the road against the Texans.
Dec 15, 2024
Five-touchdown tally in win
Jackson completed 21 of 25 passes for 290 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed six times for 65 yards in the Ravens' 35-14 win over the Giants on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Jackson, as he's prone to do on occasion, was locked in as a passer throughout the afternoon, with Baltimore somewhat surprisingly staying aggressive through the air despite the tepid threat posed by the Giants' offense. The perennial MVP candidate connected with Mark Andrews for a 13-yard scoring strike to kick things off late in the first quarter, and he subsequently hit Rashod Bateman for touchdown tosses of 49 and 20 yards before intermission. Jackson's final two TD passes of the prolific afternoon went to Devontez Walker (21 yards) and Justice Hill (27 yards) in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, giving the talented signal-caller his second five-touchdown tally of the campaign. Jackson also has compiled 144 rushing yards on just 14 attempts over his last two games, but he'll be hard-pressed to replicate his stellar production in a Week 16 Saturday afternoon home matchup versus a Steelers team he's traditionally struggled against throughout his career.
Dec 1, 2024
Over 300 total yards in loss
Jackson completed 23 of 36 pass attempts for 237 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 79 yards on eight attempts in Sunday's 24-19 loss to Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
Jackson did put two balls on the ground Sunday, but both were recovered by either himself or a teammate to stave off any potential turnovers. The dual-threat QB accounted for over 300 combined yards of offense for the seventh time this season. Despite suffering a hard-fought loss, Jackson remains one of the premier fantasy players across the NFL. The two-time MVP has thrown for 3,290 passing yards with 29 touchdowns to just three interceptions in addition to 678 yards and three more scores as a rusher through 13 games. The Ravens will lick their wounds from this battle of birds over the upcoming bye week before resuming play against the Giants on Dec. 15.
Nov 25, 2024
Bounces back in Week 12 win
Jackson completed 16 of 22 passes for 177 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and added seven carries for 16 yards and another score in the Ravens' 30-23 win over the Chargers on Monday night.
ANALYSIS
Jackson had a very quiet first half through the air until the final drive before halftime, when he recorded completions of nine and 22 yards to Justice Hill and Zay Flowers, respectively, before capping off the possession with a 40-yard touchdown strike to Rashod Bateman. Jackson then put together an efficient second half that included a six-yard touchdown pass to Mark Andrews early in the fourth quarter, but he ultimately tied his second-lowest pass-attempt total of the last eight games. Jackson did log his first rushing touchdown since Week 4 as well with a nifty 10-yard designed run just before the midway point of the second quarter, making it a fruitful fantasy night overall. Jackson and the Ravens will now set their sights on a Week 13 home showdown against the Eagles late Sunday afternoon.
Nov 17, 2024
Comes up short in Pittsburgh
Jackson completed 16 of 33 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown with an interception in Sunday's 18-16 loss to the Steelers. He added 46 rushing yards on four carries.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens arguably played well enough to win, but Justin Tucker missed two early field goals and Jackson wasn't able to hit on a two-point conversion attempt after leading a TD drive inside the final four minutes of the fourth quarter. It was the first time since Week 6 that Jackson had failed to produce multiple touchdowns, but a rebound effort in Week 12 isn't guaranteed, as he'll be taking on a stingy Chargers defense in the Harbaugh Bowl.
Nov 15, 2024
Cleared to face Pittsburgh
Jackson (knee/rest) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens limited Jackson's practice reps for a third straight week, but there's been no sign of trouble during games, with the reigning MVP throwing for 570 yards and seven TDs the past two weeks. He's locked in as a top-three fantasy play at his position, even for a road game against a tough defense that's given him trouble throughout his career (four passing TDs and zero rushing scores in four full games against the Steelers).
Nov 14, 2024
Limited at practice Thursday
Jackson (NIR-rest/knee) was limited at practice Thursday, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson has been managing a knee issue of late, so it's not surprising to see the Ravens limit his practice reps Thursday for maintenance purposes. Chances are, Jackson will return to a full session Friday and approach Sunday's game against the Steelers without an injury designation.
Nov 8, 2024
Four TDs in TNF win
Jackson completed 25 of 33 passes for 290 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed seven times for 33 yards in the Ravens' 35-34 win over the Bengals on Thursday night. He also recorded a two-point conversion run.
ANALYSIS
Jackson averaged an elevated 8.8 yards per attempt and finished the game with QB rating of 141.4, underscoring how efficient he was throughout the high-scoring victory. The veteran signal-caller extended his interception-less streak to four games as well, and his quartet of touchdown passes went to Nelson Agholor (six yards), Tylan Wallace (84 yards), Mark Andrews (18 yards) and Rashod Bateman (five yards). The final scoring strike snapped a 28-28 tie with 1:49 remaining, and it pushed Jackson to an elite 14:0 TD:INT over his last four contests. The 2018 first overall pick now has three games with at least four scoring tosses, affording him no shortage of momentum heading into a Week 11 AFC North road showdown against the Steelers on Sunday, Nov. 17.
Nov 6, 2024
Avoids injury designation
Jackson (knee) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
The team listed Jackson as a non-participant Tuesday before upgrading him to 'full' on Wednesday. Head coach John Harbaugh recently said the Ravens may limit Jackson's practice reps but haven't had any concern about minor knee and back injuries leading to missed games. Jackson gets a favorable Week 10 matchup with a Bengals defense that he roasted for 348 passing yards and four touchdowns Week 5 in a 41-38 overtime victory.
Nov 5, 2024
Misses practice, but should play
Jackson didn't participate in Tuesday's practice due to a knee injury.
ANALYSIS
In Week 9, Jackson sat out practices Wednesday and Thursday with knee and back injuries, but he put in a full practice Friday and didn't carry a designation into Sunday's 41-10 win over the Broncos. Even though he was removed early amid the blowout and finished with his fewest carries of the season (three) while throwing just 19 passes, Jackson is apparently still bothered by the knee issue coming off the light workload. Though Tuesday represents the Ravens' only full practice of the week prior to Thursday's game against the Bengals, head coach John Harbaugh suggested that Jackson's absence from the session puts the quarterback in no danger of missing the Week 10 contest, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. The Ravens will release the final injury report of the week Wednesday, when it will be known whether Jackson carries a designation into the contest.
Nov 3, 2024
Perfect passer rating in rout
Jackson completed 16 of 19 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 41-10 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
For the first time all season, Jackson failed to run for double-digit yardage as he gained only four yards on three carries, but he hardly needed to during a game in which the Ravens never trailed. He was nearly flawless with his arm though, posting a perfect QB rating of 158.3 as he hit Zay Flowers for a pair of second-quarter scores before adding a three-yard TD to Patrick Ricard late in the third. Jackson has a stellar 15:1 TD:INT over the last five games, reaching 280 passing yards in all five contests, and his impressive streak figures to continue in Week 10 against a Bengals defense he already lit up for 348 yards and four touchdowns in their first meeting.
Nov 1, 2024
Cleared to face Broncos
Jackson (back/knee) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Broncos after logging a full practice Friday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was listed as a non-participant both Wednesday and Thursday, but the star QB is good to go for Sunday's game after working fully Friday and looking good in doing so, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, Jackson noted Friday that his status for the contest was never in doubt and that his missed practices were simply a case of resting his body ahead of Week 9 action.
Nov 1, 2024
Coach says he's playing Week 9
Coach John Harbaugh said Friday that Jackson (back/knee) will play Sunday against the Broncos, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson missed practice Wednesday and Thursday but returned to practice Friday. While Baltimore has yet to unveil its injury designations for Sunday's game, both the reigning NFL MVP and his coach were confident regarding Jackson's availability. Earlier Friday, Jackson said his availability was never in doubt and that he was simply resting his body with a couple days off in practice Wednesday and Thursday, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com.
Nov 1, 2024
Back at practice
Jackson (back/knee) returned to practice Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Following back-to-back 'DNPs', Jackson's return to the field for Friday's session is a good sign regarding the star QB's availability for Sunday's game against the Broncos. The Ravens' upcoming injury report will clarify Jackson's official participation level, as well as his Week 9 game status.
Oct 31, 2024
Misses second straight practice
Jackson (back/knee) isn't practicing Thursday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach John Harbaugh had previously characterized Jackson's absence from practice Wednesday as a rest day, only for the quarterback to be listed with a pair of health concerns upon the release of the team's first Week 9 injury report later that day. With Jackson now sitting out a second straight practice, his status for Sunday's game against the Broncos is suddenly on much shakier ground than initially believed. According to Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, head coach John Harbaugh isn't expected to speak to the media again until Friday, at which point he'll likely clarify whether Jackson is truly in danger of missing the Week 9 contest. If Jackson ends up missing his first game of the season Sunday, journeyman backup Josh Johnson would be in line to make his first start since 2021 and would oversee what would presumably be an even more run-heavy offense than usual.
Oct 30, 2024
Listed with pair of minor injuries
Jackson was listed as a non-participant in Wednesday's practice due to back and knee injuries.
ANALYSIS
First, a reporter suggested Jackson's absence may have been a product of a groin/core/abdomen injury, as he seemed to be favoring that area after Sunday's 29-24 loss at Cleveland. Ravens coach John Harbaugh then attributed the absence to rest, but now the team's official injury report is listing 'back/knee' as the explanation for Jackson not practicing. Regardless, there hasn't been any indication of a serious injury, with Harbaugh's comments in particular suggesting the team isn't worried about Jackson missing a home game against the Broncos this Sunday.
Oct 30, 2024
Gets rest day Wednesday
Coach John Harbaugh noted that Jackson received a rest day Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com previously noted that Jackson seemed to be dealing with a little discomfort with his groin/core area in the locker room this past Sunday, but the QB's absence from Wednesday's practice was evidently not injury-related. The Ravens' upcoming practice report will add further context to Jackson's Week 9 status by clarifying whether or not there's any sort of injury listed alongside the 'rest' or 'non-injury' designation.
Oct 30, 2024
May have groin/core injury
Jackson wasn't at the media-access portion of Wednesday's practice, and he may be dealing with a groin/core injury, acc to Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com.
ANALYSIS
Shaffer notes that Jackson seemed to have some discomfort in his groin or abdomen following Sunday's 29-24 loss at Cleveland. The official Wednesday injury report will reveal if Jackson missed practice entirely or ended up being a limited participant. It was Diontae Johnson's first practice with the Ravens after being traded from Carolina on Tuesday.
Oct 27, 2024
Strong effort in loss
Jackson completed 23 of 38 passes for 289 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 29-24 loss to the Browns. He added eight rushes for 46 yards.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens suffered a surprising loss, though Jackson continued his excellent season and could have had a better day if not been let down by his pass catchers. He delivered six completions of at least 20 yards and should have had another on a deep attempt to Rashod Bateman in the middle of the fourth quarter that bounced off the receiver's chest. Jackson also added touchdown passes of 11 and seven yards to tally his fourth multi-touchdown passing performance in his last five starts. As can be expected, Jackson supplemented his production with his arm with rushing yardage, as he continued his streak of reaching 40 yards with his legs in every game this season.
Oct 22, 2024
Throws five TDs in Week 7 win
Jackson completed 17 of 22 passes for 281 yards and five touchdowns in Monday's 41-31 win over the Buccaneers. He added nine rushing attempts for 52 yards and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens trailed 10-0 after the first quarter, but Jackson took over after that with touchdown passes of nine yards to Mark Andrews and 18 yards to Justice Hill in the second quarter, 49 yards to Rashod Bateman and four yads to Andrews in the third, and a 13-yarder to Derrick Henry for good measure to put the Ravens up 41-18 in the fourth. The score to Hill came one play after Jackson had an eight-yard rushing touchdown negated by a questionable holding penalty. This stellar performance gives Jackson a 15:2 TD:INT through the air, as well as 40-plus rushing yards in all seven games. The two-time NFL MVP will look to bolster his case for a third such award when the Ravens travel to Cleveland in Week 8.
Oct 13, 2024
Efficient in Sunday's win
Jackson completed 20 of 26 passes for 323 yards and a touchdown with one interception in Sunday's 30-23 win over the Commanders. He added 40 rushing yards on 11 carries.
ANALYSIS
The veteran quarterback dissected a weak Washington secondary, and Jackson found Mark Andrews for a 13-yard score just before halftime. Jackson has posted back-to-back games with more than 300 passing yards, and on the season the reigning MVP has put together a 10:2 TD:INT through six games while also chipping in two rushing touchdowns. He could be poised for big numbers again in a potential Week 7 barn burner against the Buccaneers.
Oct 6, 2024
Fires four TDs in wild OT win
Jackson completed 26 of 42 passes for 348 yards and four touchdowns while adding 55 rushing yards on 12 carries in Sunday's 41-38 overtime win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
In a wild back-and-forth affair that saw the Ravens fall into a 31-21 hole early in the fourth quarter, Jackson led the comeback by tossing two of his four TDs over the final 10 minutes of regulation. It's his best passing performance since he hung 321 yards and five touchdowns on the Dolphins in Week 17 of last season. The two-time NFL MVP will take an impressive 9:1 TD:INT through five games, plus another two scores on the ground, into what could be another barn burner in Week 6 against rookie phenom Jayden Daniels and the Commanders.
Sep 29, 2024
Goes for 200+ yards and three TDs
Jackson completed 13 of 18 pass attempts for 156 yards and two touchdowns while adding 54 rushing yards and another score on six attempts in Sunday's 35-10 win over the Bills.
ANALYSIS
Jackson turned in a signature performance in which he revitalized the Ravens' contender status after a decisive victory over the now 3-1 Bills on Sunday Night Football. Last year's MVP looked the part with his first game scoring three touchdowns in 2024. The 27-year-old did cough up his second fumble of the season, but he has offset three total turnovers with seven combined touchdowns (two rushing) through four weeks. Jackson and the Ravens will set their sights on another division rival, the Joe Burrow-led Cincinnati Bengals, when the two teams meet in Week 5.
Sep 22, 2024
Two TDs against Dallas
Jackson completed 12 of 15 passes for 182 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 28-25 win over the Cowboys. He added 14 rushes for 87 yards and a touchdown.
ANALYSIS
Jackson and the Ravens scored three touchdowns on their five drives in the first half, during which he accounted for 161 of his passing yards. However, his efficiency ultimately worked against his ability to put up a big stat line, as Baltimore was up by multiple scores for the vast majority of the game. Jackson's aggressiveness on the ground offset some of his lack of passing volume, and he now has 254 rushing yards in three games. While still early in the season, that puts him on pace to record his first 1,000 rushing-yard season since 2020.
Sep 15, 2024
Can't avoid 0-2 start Sunday
Jackson completed 21 of 34 passes for 247 yards with one touchdown and one interception and added five carries for 45 yards in the Ravens' 26-23 loss to the Raiders on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
It was a disappointing afternoon overall for Baltimore as it started 0-2 for the first time since 2015, with the Ravens blowing a 10-point second-half lead and Jackson unable to do enough to prevent it when he had the ball. The former MVP's final numbers appeared to be serviceable overall, but he couldn't establish much chemistry with any other pass catcher except for Zay Flowers, who was on the receiving end of his one touchdown pass of the contest. The offense's struggles are particularly concerning considering it's Jackson and his teammates' second season in the system, and they'll now be tasked with trying to get themselves straightened out in an intriguing road matchup against a Cowboys defense that will be looking for atonement in their own right in Week 3.
Sep 11, 2024
Not on injury report
Jackson (undisclosed) was not listed on the Ravens' Wednesday injury report.
ANALYSIS
Per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, Jackson indicated that he was healthy enough to practice Monday, but the Ravens instead elected to give the QB a rest day, given that he was reportedly dealing with some soreness after Week 1 action, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Jackson, who rushed for 122 yards (16 carries) and threw for 273 yards in last Thursday's 27-20 loss to the Chiefs, is slated to face the Raiders (who dropped a 22-10 decision to the Chargers this past weekend) on Sunday.
Sep 11, 2024
Returns to practice
Jackson (undisclosed) is practicing Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was held out of practice Monday after a 27-20 loss to the Chiefs on Thursday, and while he may be listed on the injury report this week, a quick return to practice suggests he'll be ready to play this Sunday against the Raiders. He played every snap in the season opener, piling up 273 passing yards and 122 rushing yards against a veteran Kansas City defense.
Sep 10, 2024
Expected to be fine for Week 2
Jackson is a "little bit sore" but is fully expected to be available for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
After suffering a 27-20 loss to the Chiefs last Thursday in Week 1, the Ravens reconvened for an unofficial practice session Monday, but Jackson didn't participate. Due to the longer turnaround the Ravens will face for Week 2, Jackson's absence Monday looks to be mostly maintenance-related, as the coaching staff likely just wanted to give his body some more recovery time after he carried the ball 16 times in the season opener. The Ravens will release their first Week 2 practice report Wednesday, and Jackson will most likely be listed as a full participant, if he's even included on the report at all.
Sep 9, 2024
Doesn't practice Monday
Jackson did not participate in Monday's practice, and coach John Harbaugh declined to state a reason for the star quarterback's absence, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Harbaugh joked that the "injury report comes out Wednesday afternoon," so it sounds like an official update on Jackson's status won't arrive until then. Jackson didn't appear to sustain any injuries during last Thursday's season-opening loss to the Chiefs, so his absence from practice Monday may have been personal. Barring any further updates, it seems like the expectation should be that Jackson will be in attendance at Wednesday's practice.
Sep 6, 2024
Nearly pulls off comeback in opener
Jackson completed 26 of 41 passes for 273 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions and rushed 16 times for 122 yards in the Ravens' 27-20 loss to the Chiefs on Thursday night. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's final numbers were certainly stellar from a fantasy perspective, but his passing wasn't as efficient as his final line implies and he also couldn't convert on two final opportunities to tie the game. Jackson did demonstrate excellent chemistry with Isaiah Likely, who easily one-upped fellow tight end Mark Andrews by hauling in nine of Jackson's passes for 111 yards and the quarterback's one touchdown. However, Jackson frequently found himself pulling the ball down and running on his way to best rushing yardage total since Week 18 of the 2020 season. He also threw well behind a wide open Zay Flowers in the end zone on the second-to-last play and then launched his final pass about an inch too far for Likely, who just missed bringing it down inbounds. Following another disappointing loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, Jackson will look to atone with a more balanced effort in a Week 2 road battle versus the Raiders on Sunday, Sept. 15.

Not playing in preseason finale
Jackson is not in line to play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Packers, Jamison Hensley of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
As a result, Jackson's next game action will occur in Week 1 against the Chiefs. While the Ravens' franchise QB won't see any exhibition snaps, he will at least have an opportunity to compete against an opposing defense during Thursday's joint practice in Green Bay. As the coming campaign approaches, the 27-year-old is on track to maintain his status as a top-level fantasy QB, provided he can stay healthy.
Aug 20, 2024
Not likely to play Saturday
Jackson isn't expected to play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Packers, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's no surprise that the Ravens aren't inclined to risk playing their franchise QB on Saturday, but Jackson will at least get some reps against a defense other than his own team's this week, with Baltimore and Green Bay scheduled to conduct a joint practice Thursday. As the coming campaign approaches, Jackson indicates that he's shed about 10 pounds since last season, with an eye toward increasing his agility and on-field energy level. As long as the 27-year-old can stay healthy in the coming weeks and months, he's poised to maintain his status as a top level fantasy QB in 2024.
Aug 14, 2024
Not suiting up Saturday
Coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that Jackson will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Falcons, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson will sit out a second consecutive preseason contest, meaning Baltimore's road game against the Packers on Aug. 24 will be his final opportunity to handle exhibition reps. In the meantime, Josh Johnson figures to start versus Atlanta on Saturday, with Devin Leary and Emory Jones working behind him.
Aug 7, 2024
Won't play Friday
Coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that Jackson won't suit up for Friday's preseason opener against the Eagles, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Harbaugh said that Josh Johnson will play Friday, and that Baltimore's starters will see action in the preseason, per Giana Han of TheBaltimoreBanner.com, just not versus Philadelphia. With two more exhibitions on deck, versus the Falcons and Packers, respectively, it's possible the bulk of the preseason action for the Ravens' first-team units could come in the team's final preseason contest. Jackson missed a number of practices due to illness early in training camp but has appeared fully healthy since July 27.
Jul 27, 2024
Back at practice
Jackson (illness) returned to practice Saturday, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson returned to practice Saturday after missing four of the first five due to a prolonged illness. The two-time MVP signal caller is now poised to take the first-team reps for an offense that could be electric with the continual growth of young receivers Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman.
Jul 26, 2024
Again sidelined with illness
Jackson (illness) is not participating in practice Friday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson is missing his fourth of five training camp practices due to an illness, after having returned to the field Thursday. Per the team, "continues to undergo further evaluation and receive care from our medical team." In Jackson's stead, Josh Johnson figures to again handle the bulk of first-team reps, with rookies Devin Leary and Emory Jones also potentially mixing in. The severity of the star quarterback's illness remains unclear.
Jul 24, 2024
Returns to field
Jackson returned to practice Wednesday after missing three practices due to an illness, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was sent home by the Ravens on Sunday before practice and then didn't feel well enough to practice either Monday or Tuesday. During his absence, Josh Johnson worked with the first-team offense, followed by rookies Devin Leary and Emory Jones. Now that Jackson is back in action, he'll be able to continue to build rapport with his pass-catchers as well as his comfort in helming Baltimore's offense in Todd Monken's second year as coordinator.
Jul 22, 2024
Sitting out another practice
Jackson (illness) remained sidelined at practice Monday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was also unavailable for Sunday's session. In his continued absence a day later, Josh Johnson will once again handle the Ravens' first-team QB reps.
Jul 21, 2024
Sent home from camp due to illness
Jackson won't practice Sunday and was sent home from training camp due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Sunday is the first day of Baltimore's training camp, and the team's star quarterback won't participate due to an illness. The severity of the issue isn't clear, but it seems unlikely that Jackson's status for Week 1 is in jeopardy.
May 22, 2024
Drops weight over offseason
Jackson said Wednesday that he dropped weight over the offseason in an effort to be more agile in 2024, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was listed at 215 pounds last season and 225 the previous year. Earlier this month, Jackson indicated he was closer to 205 pounds, but it's unclear if that's his intended playing weight. "Just so I can be more agile and be able to move more," Jackson said Wednesday. Zay Flowers called Jackson "skinny," but coach John Harbaught said he's not concerned about the 2023 MVP's drop in weight. An even more elusive Jackson would be dangerous to opposing defenses. Adding Derrick Henry and getting Mark Andrews back healthy off his broken ankle will only make this offense more lethal.
Mar 12, 2024
Joined by superstar RB
Jackson is getting help in the backfield via Derrick Henry, with whom the Ravens agreed to terms on a two-year, $16 million contract Tuesday, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson will form one of the league's most dangerous backfield tandems by allying with the 30-year-old, two-time rushing champion who spent the last eight seasons in Tennessee, and could now finally give Baltimore a sledgehammer in the rushing game to complement the reigning MVP's elusiveness. The pair of Jackson and Henry could give the Ravens a new-look rushing attack finally capable of pushing the team over the edge, with big-play threat Keaton Mitchell (knee) providing a complementary boost. Meanwhile, J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) is scheduled for free agency, while Gus Edwards is scheduled to ink with the Chargers. Jackson tallied career-high marks with 3,678 passing yards and 8.0 yards per attempt in 2023, to go with 29 total touchdowns, and 821 rushing yards. Henry, meanwhile, rushed for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns on 280 carries.

Wins second MVP Award
Jackson was named the Most Valuable Player on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was the favorite for the award since the Ravens downed Brock Purdy and the 49ers in Week 16 in decisive fashion. His overall resume was deserving of the honor as well, as Jackson tallied 29 total touchdowns while racking up career-best marks in passing yards (3,678) and yards per attempt (8.0). It was the second time that he's been named MVP of the league, with the first coming in 2019.

Key errors in season-ending loss
Jackson completed 20 of 37 passes for 272 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Ravens' 17-10 AFC Championship Game loss to the Chiefs on Sunday. He also rushed eight times for 54 yards and lost a fumble while catching one of his deflected passes for 13 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's final yardage numbers looked perfectly acceptable from a fantasy perspective, but his real-world impact on the game was both more muted and detrimental than those figures imply. The dynamic quarterback struggled with finding open targets against the Chiefs' suffocating coverage throughout the afternoon, and several of his rush attempts were the result of intense pressure from Kansas City. Jackson's second turnover was also critical, as he was picked off in the end zone with 6:54 remaining and the Ravens down by 10. The crushing ending to the season aside, Jackson put himself in position for MVP honors by throwing for 3,678 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions while adding 821 rushing yards and another five scores across 16 regular-season games, and in 2024, he'll play out the second year of the massive contract extension he signed this past offseason.

Four total touchdowns in win
Jackson completed 16 of 22 passes for 152 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 34-10 win over the Texans. He rushed the ball 11 times for 100 yards and an additional two scores.
ANALYSIS
Jackson and the rest of Baltimore's offense got off to a relatively slow start, as they didn't find the end zone until midway through the second quarter. However, he took over from there, throwing for touchdowns of three and 15 yards while also finding the end zone on the ground with rushes of 15 and eight yards. Jackson had thrown at least one interception in each his four postseason games entering Saturday's matchup, though he had no turnovers in the blowout win. He also now has at least 100 rushing yards in three of five career playoff games. Jackson and the Ravens will host either the Bills or Chiefs next Sunday with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

Won't play in Week 18
Jackson won't play in Saturday's game against the Steelers, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With the Ravens having secured the top playoff seed in the AFC, Jackson will be rested in the team's regular-season finale. In his place, Tyler Huntley will draw the start at QB this weekend, with Josh Johnson backing him up, while WR/QB Malik Cunningham will also be on hand. Jackson's next chance to see game action will thus arrive in Baltimore's playoff opener during the Divisional Round of the upcoming postseason.
Dec 31, 2023
Remarkable numbers in marquee win
Jackson completed 18 of 21 passes for 321 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions and added six rushes for 35 yards in the Ravens' 56-19 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's numbers, which netted a perfect 158.3 QB rating, essentially tell the tale of what type of afternoon it was for him and the Ravens as a whole. The one-time league MVP continued making an airtight case for another run at the honors with his spectacular performance, which was punctuated by touchdown tosses of 20 yards to Justice Hill, 75 yards to Zay Flowers, 35 yards and seven yards to Isaiah Likely and four yards to Patrick Ricard. Jackson now has an 11:2 TD:INT over his last four games, sample in which he's eclipsed the 300-yard mark twice. With the AFC's No. 1 seed now in hand, it remains to be seen if Jackson sees any action in the Week 18 finale against the Steelers.
Dec 26, 2023
Leads Ravens past 49ers
Jackson completed 23 of 35 passes for 252 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Monday's 33-19 win over the 49ers. He added seven rushes for 45 yards.
ANALYSIS
Baltimore ran a pass-heavy offense by their standard, as Jackson reached 30 pass attempts for only the seventh time this season despite playing from ahead for nearly the entire game. He responded with an efficient performance and his sixth multiple-passing touchdown effort of the campaign -- which he connected on from six and nine yards away. While Jackson didn't need to use his rushing ability as much given the game script, he still narrowly missed out on 300 total yards. Given Brock Purdy's (neck) struggles on the opposite end of the contest, Jackson may have become the MVP favorite with his performance.
Dec 17, 2023
Modest passing numbers in win
Jackson completed 14 of 24 passes for 171 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Jaguars. He added 12 rushing attempts for 97 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson finally broke through late in a low-scoring first half with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Likely, which made up for an interception on the previous drive and put the Ravens up 10-0 with 1:12 remaining before halftime. The mobile quarterback and second-year tight end combined for another key play in the third quarter, as Jackson escaped a sack attempt and uncorked a 26-yard pass that Likely caught over two defenders at the 4-yard line. Jackson led the Ravens in rushing yards, but he was held to fewer than 200 passing yards for the fourth time in the last seven games. Up next for Jackson and the Ravens is a Week 16 Monday Night Football clash with the 49ers, who boast an 11-3 record identical to Baltimore's.
Dec 10, 2023
Rips through Rams
Jackson completed 24 of 43 passes for 316 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 37-31 win over the Rams. He added 11 rushes for 70 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson erupted in the win, topping 300 passing yards for the second time this season while also topping 40 passes for the first time on the campaign. He spread targets around evenly, finding each of Odell Beckham, Isaiah Likely and Zay Flowers for gains of at least 20 yards as well as touchdowns. Jackson was also active as a rusher, and he managed his highest yardage total on the ground since Week 3. Altogether, it was an excellent performance from Jackson, though it was only his second multi-touchdown performance in his last six games.
Dec 8, 2023
Good to go for Week 14
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed Jackson (illness) will play Sunday against the Rams after the quarterback returned to practice Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. "He was feeling good -- full of life," Harbaugh said Friday. "He looked good out there. He was back. He's recovered."
ANALYSIS
Jackson missed his first practice of the season Thursday after falling ill, but he seemed to bounce back quickly from the ailment and appeared to be practicing Friday with his usual energy during the portion of the session that was open to the media. Though durability has been an issue for Jackson over the past two seasons, he's enjoyed one of the healthier campaigns of his career and should be fresh coming out of the Ravens' Week 13 bye.
Dec 8, 2023
Practicing Friday
Jackson (illness) returned to practice Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson didn't practice Thursday due to an illness, but his return to the field a day later has him on track to play Sunday against the Rams. Friday's upcoming practice/injury report will reveal whether the QB heads into the weekend with a designation or fully cleared for Week 14 action.
Dec 7, 2023
Reportedly dealing with an illness
Jackson who didn't participate in practice Thursday, is dealing with an illness, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson practiced fully Wednesday, but his absence from the field a day later is being attributed to an illness. Added context regarding Jackson's status for Sunday's game against the Rams will arrive Friday, but if the QB is able to work in any capacity to close the practice week, he'll be on track to be available this weekend.
Dec 7, 2023
Not practicing Thursday
Jackson (undisclosed) didn't practice Thursday, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Mink, this marks Jackson's first practice absence of the season. When speaking with the media after Wednesday's session, the QB didn't indicate anything was wrong, so look for the Ravens' upcoming practice report to provide context regarding Jackson's non-participation Thursday.
Nov 26, 2023
Manages Ravens to victory
Jackson completed 18 of 32 passes for 177 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Chargers. He added 11 rushes for 39 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson helped the Ravens to an early lead with a three-yard touchdown pass to Zay Flowers, but the offense largely stalled from there. Positively, Jackson avoided turnovers for the second consecutive game, and he continued to get plenty of opportunities as a rusher. He's done exactly what has been asked of him for much of the season, but Jackson has now failed to tally multiple touchdowns in eight of his 12 games to this point.
Nov 22, 2023
Dismisses concerns about ankle
Jackson said Tuesday that he doesn't anticipate his left ankle causing any complications for him during Sunday's game against the Chargers, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson took every snap on offense in the Ravens' 34-20 win over the Bengals this past Thursday, despite going down in apparent pain and grabbing his left ankle late in the first quarter when he was tackled by linebacker Logan Wilson along the sideline. The signal-caller appeared to be limping at multiple points throughout the rest of the contest, but he ended up finishing with one of his better fantasy lines of the season (16 completions for 264 yards and two touchdowns, nine carries for 54 yards). Though Jackson may not have been 100 percent against the Bengals, the longer turnaround for the Ravens' Week 12 game looks as though it has provided sufficient time for him to shake off the ankle issue.
Nov 17, 2023
Plays through ankle issue
Jackson, who visited the medical tent with an ankle injury late in the first quarter of Thursday night's 34-20 win over the Bengals, noted afterward that he'll "be good" for his team's Nov. 26 contest against the Chargers, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Despite getting his ankle checked out, Jackson was on the field for all 66 of the Ravens' snaps on offense, and with the extra time off he'll have ahead of Week 12 action the QB's availability versus the Chargers shouldn't be impacted. The same can't be said for star tight end Mark Andrews, who sustained what is looking like a season-ending ankle issue Thursday. In that context, Baltimore's reserve TEs (Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar) as well as the team's WR corps will be called upon to help fill the pass-catching void created by Andrews' looming absence.
Nov 16, 2023
Hits on big plays in win
Jackson completed 16 of 26 passes for 264 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed nine times for 54 yards in the Ravens' 34-20 win over the Bengals on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was highly efficient with his modest number of completions, posting his second-highest passing yardage total on his second-highest yards per attempt (10.2) of the campaign. Jackson tossed multiple touchdown passes for the fourth time this season as well, hitting Nelson Agholor and Rashod Bateman on second-quarter scoring tosses of 37 and 10 yards, respectively. Jackson also connected with Odell Beckham for a 51-yard completion midway through the fourth quarter on what would turn out to be Baltimore's final scoring drive of the night, but the star signal-caller appears to have to lost Mark Andrews, who exited the game in the first quarter with an ankle injury, for the season as per Jamison Hensey of ESPN.com. That development could naturally impact the success of the air attack and Jackson's fantasy outlook significantly beginning with a Week 12 road clash against the Chargers on Sunday, Nov. 26.
Nov 12, 2023
Day doomed by key pick
Jackson completed 13 of 23 passes for 223 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 33-31 loss to the Browns. He added eight rushes for 41 yards.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens played with a lead throughout the game, allowing them to rely heavily on their rushing attack. As a result, volume was once again limited for Jackson, however, unlike in past games, he also mixed in some key mistakes. The most glaring was an interception midway through the fourth quarter when he threw a pick that was deflected at the line of scrimmage and returned for a touchdown. Jackson now has failed to tally multiple touchdowns in five of his last six games.
Nov 5, 2023
Modest output in blowout victory
Jackson completed 21 of 26 passes for 187 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 37-3 win over Seattle. He added 10 rushes for 60 yards.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens were able to coast throughout much of the game after building up a 17-3 lead by halftime. As a result, Jackson had limited pass attempts and a similarly underwhelming fantasy fantasy performance. The positive was his production as a rusher, which marked the third time he's topped 60 rushing yards on the season. Jackson also suffered an injury scare in the fourth quarter when he appeared to tweak his ankle, but coach John Harbaugh indicated after the game that the issue wasn't serious, per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.
Oct 29, 2023
Modest numbers in Week 8 win
Jackson completed 18 of 27 passes for 157 yards and one touchdown while adding five carries for 17 yards in Sunday's 31-24 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
After accounting for four touchdowns in the previous game, Jackson wasn't asked to do much with Gus Edwards' three-touchdown performance leading the way for Baltimore's offense. The quarterback tied the game with a five-yard touchdown pass to Mark Andrews in the first quarter, kicking off a stretch of 24 unanswered Ravens points. Heading into a Week 9 home game against the Seahawks, Jackson has led the Ravens to a 6-2 record while posting a 9:3 TD:INT through the air and adding five rushing touchdowns through eight games.
Oct 22, 2023
Four touchdowns against Detroit
Jackson completed 21 of 27 passes for 357 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 38-6 win over Detroit. He added nine rushes for 36 yards and an additional score.
ANALYSIS
Jackson had no trouble leading the Baltimore offense against what had been considered one of the better defenses in the league entering the game. He capped the team's first offensive possession with a seven-yard rushing touchdown, then threw for scores of 12 and 11 yards before halftime. Jackson wasn't reliant solely on touchdowns for his big performance, as he also tallied his first 300-yard passing effort since Week 5 of the 2021 campaign. He should have a chance for another big game in Week 8 in a matchup against Arizona.
Oct 15, 2023
Effective on ground in Week 6 win
Jackson completed 21 of 30 passes for 223 yards and a touchdown with one interception in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Titans. He added 62 rushing yards on 13 carries.
ANALYSIS
While Baltimore struggled in the red zone -- Justin Tucker carried the offense with six field goals -- Jackson did hit Zay Flowers for a 10-yard score in the second quarter, and the quarterback was able to extend plays and drives with his legs as he led the Ravens in rushing. Jackson's 5:3 TD:INT through six games isn't much, but he's completed at least 70 percent of his passes in five of those contests, suggesting better passing numbers should lie ahead once he's fully comfortable with offensive coordinator Todd Monken's new scheme. Next up in Week 7 is a home tilt against a Lions defense that's allowed eight passing TDs through five games, a figure topped by only four other secondaries.
Oct 8, 2023
Held without score in loss
Jackson completed 22 of 38 passes for 236 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Steelers. He added six rushes for 45 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson attempted a season-high 38 passes and missed his season-best yardage total by one yard. His pass catchers played a role in his inefficiency, as the Baltimore receiving corps had several key drops throughout the game. On the other hand, Jackson also had some mistakes of his own, most notably throwing an interception deep in Pittsburgh territory with a chance to clinch victory late in the fourth quarter. He also lost a fumble one possession later, which gave the Steelers a chance to run out the clock. Overall, Jackson has had an inconsistent start to the season, tallying multiple total touchdowns in three of five games, but zero in the remaining two contests.
Oct 1, 2023
Two TDs apiece rushing and passing
Jackson completed 15 of 19 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns while rushing nine times for 27 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 28-3 win over the Browns. He also fumbled twice, losing one.
ANALYSIS
Jackson scored a 10-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter and added a two-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, as well as a seven-yard touchdown pass to Mark Andrews 11 seconds before halftime. An 18-yard touchdown pass to Andrews rounded out the scoring in the fourth quarter. Jackson has a 4:1 TD:INT and four rushing touchdowns heading into a Week 5 trip to Pittsburgh, but ball security has been a problem for the dual-threat quarterback, who has put the ball on the ground a league-high six times and lost three of those fumbles.
Sep 24, 2023
Big game as rusher
Jackson completed 22 of 31 pass attempts for 202 yards and no touchdowns in Sunday's 22-19 overtime loss to the Colts. He added 14 rushes for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
ANALYSIS
Jackson completed his pass attempts at a high rate, though he wasn't aggressive in pushing the ball down the field. Instead, his explosive plays came on the ground as he accounted for both of the Ravens' touchdowns with his legs, scampering into the end zone from eight and 10 yards away. It was expected that Baltimore's passing attack would be improved under new offensive coordinator Todd Monken, and while that has yet to occur, Jackson still has multiple touchdowns in two of his first three games this season.
Sep 20, 2023
Not on injury report
Jackson (hand) isn't listed on the Wednesday injury report ahead of Sunday's home game against Indianapolis.
ANALYSIS
Jackson wasn't at all worried when he met with reporters Sunday evening after suffering a stinger in his left hand toward the end of a 27-24 win over the Bengals. He's not even on the injury report this week as the Ravens prepare for a struggling Colts defense.
Sep 17, 2023
Throws two TDs to beat Bengals
Jackson completed 24 of 33 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Bengals. He added 12 rushing attempts for 54 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson suffered a stinger in his left hand late in the game, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN, but he told reporters after the game that he's fine and flexed his hands as evidence. The dual-threat quarterback was happy to have favorite target Mark Andrews (quadriceps) back, as Andrews led the Ravens with eight targets, including a three-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Jackson's other touchdown pass was a 17-yarder to Nelson Agholor to take a 27-17 lead in the fourth. Assuming Jackson's non-throwing hand is indeed fine, he'll remain among the top fantasy quarterback options in Week 3 against the Colts.
Sep 10, 2023
Quiet day in Week 1 win
Jackson completed 17 of 22 passes for 169 yards with no touchdowns and one interception and rushed six times for 38 yards in the Ravens' 25-9 win over the Texans on Sunday. He also committed two fumbles, losing one.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was certainly efficient, but the offseason talk of the Ravens being more pass-oriented never really came to fruition with Baltimore mostly in control from the second half on. When he did put the ball up, Jackson displayed impressive chemistry with rookie Zay Flowers, who he connected with on a team-high nine occasions. Jackson also hit Odell Beckham and Rasho Bateman for another five completions, but his target pool was significantly narrow otherwise. With No. 1 running back J.K. Dobbins feared to have torn his Achilles in Sunday's game, it remains to be seen if Jackson will take to the ground more often beginning with a Week 2 road matchup against the Bengals, despite repeated declarations from the coaching staff the highly mobile signal-caller would run less this season.
Aug 25, 2023
Won't play this weekend
Jackson won't play in Saturday's preseason finale in Tampa Bay, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson and other veteran starters have been held out all preseason and will now have two full weeks to prepare for a Sept. 10 home game against the Texans. With RB J.K. Dobbins (undisclosed) and WR Rashod Bateman (foot) bth practicing of late, Jackson may have all his key targets available at the start of the regular season. The Ravens are expected to throw more under new offensive coordinator Todd Monken, but Jackson's running will still figure in prominently even if he has to do more on scrambles and less on designed runs.
Aug 19, 2023
Not in line to play Monday
With coach John Harbaugh noting Saturday that Josh Johnsonand Anthony Brown are each in line to play a half in Monday's preseason game against the Commanders, Jackson is once again not in line to see action, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson also didn't play in the Ravens' preseason opener and this time around Harbaugh relays that Johnson will get the start Monday and play the first half, with Brown in line to take over for the second half. Jackson's final opportunity to see exhibition snaps will come next Saturday against the Buccaneers.
Aug 10, 2023
Not slated to play Saturday
Jackson is not in line to play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Eagles, with coach John Harbaugh noting Thursday that none of the Ravens' established starters will play in the contest.
ANALYSIS
Though the team's key veteran starters, including Jackson, will sit this one out, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com relays via Harbaugh that some of Ravens' key young players such as Zay Flowers could potentially suit up Saturday. Jackson's next chance to log preseason game action will occur Aug. 21 against the Commanders.

Expects less running with new OC
Jackson said Thursday that he expects "less running and more throwing" under new offensive coordinator Todd Monken, ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not exactly a secret, after the Ravens parted ways with long-time, run-first OC Greg Roman and added WRs Odell Beckham and Zay Flowers. The new coordinator, Monken, spent four seasons with Tampa Bay (2016-18) and Cleveland (2019) in the same role and oversaw offenses that attempted 36.1, 37.8, 39.1 and 33.7 passes per game (Jackson's never averaged more than 31.8). Monken then opened up UGA's offense, culminating last year with QB Stetson Bennett having 4,128 passing yards, 27 pass TDs and 10 rushing TDs. The Ravens hope Monken can help guide Jackson from good to great as a passer, but it might mean fewer of the rush attempts that fantasy managers find so valuable. The 26-year-old QB completed 66.1 percent of his throws for 7.8 YPA and a league-high 9.0 percent TD rate back in 2019, so it isn't out of the question to make up for a dip in rushing stats with improvements in both passing volume and efficiency. Officially signs extension
Jackson signed his five-year, $260 million contract extension with the Ravens on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Baltimore and Jackson agreed to terms on the five-year extension, which reportedly includes $185 million in guarantees, just prior to the start of the 2023 NFL Draft, and both sides have now made the deal official. The team then selected rookie wideout Zay Flowers in the first round, adding another hopeful boost to a wide receiver room that also saw Odell Beckham signed to a one-year deal, and will get Rashod Bateman (foot) back from injury. By virtue of the revamped wide receiver corps, not to mention Mark Andrews' continued presence, Jackson looks set up to thrive with new offensive coordinator Todd Monken.

Lands five-year extension
Jackson has agreed to a five-year deal to remain with the Ravens.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's previously uncertain status for the coming season has now gained clarity, with the team confirming that the star QB is slated to ink a five-year agreement (worth $260 million, with $185 million in guarantees, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network) with the franchise that drafted him in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Earlier this offseason, Jackson -- who the Ravens placed their $32.4 million non-exclusive franchise tag on -- had requested a trade, but he's sticking with the team after all. Now past the sprained PCL that ended his 2022 campaign, the 26-year-old is poised to continue to helm a Baltimore offense that bolstered its pass-catching corps earlier this month by signing veteran wideout Odell Beckham.

Still in team's plans, per DeCosta
Ravens GM Eric DeCosta reiterated Thursday that he wants to sign Jackson to a long-term deal and believes the quarterback is "the right player for this team," ESPN's Jamison Hensley reports.
ANALYSIS
It's no secret the Ravens hope to keep Jackson; they just haven't been willing to give him the contract he wants. He's also been unable to find it from another team, perhaps in part because the non-exclusive franchise tag would require the loss of two first-round picks if the Ravens were to not match an offer sheet. The team has until July 17 to work out a long-term deal with Jackson, who has yet to sign the franchise tender and thus won't be at the start of the offseason program to learn new OC Todd Monken's playbook. DeCosta's comments Thursday came at the introductory press conference for Odell Beckham, who didn't receive any assurances Jackson will be with the team but expects it will play out that way. "The goal is to come here and have that possibility with [Jackson]," Beckham said Thursday.

Has requested trade
Jackson (knee) announced via his personal Twitter account Monday that he requested a trade from the Ravens on March 2.
ANALYSIS
Coach John Harbaugh said "we love [Jackson]" in his press conference Monday, in response to Jackson's trade announcement, but after lengthy contract disputes, the star quarterback has made it known that he prefers to move on from Baltimore. The Ravens placed the $32.4 million non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson earlier this offseason, but the quarterback has yet to sign the tag. Other teams can negotiate a contract with Jackson due to the non-exclusive tag, which Baltimore could match or alternatively gain two first-round draft picks as compensation, but Jackson's announcements could motivate teams around the league to more heavily pursue trade dialogues instead.

Gets franchise tag from Ravens
The Ravens have used their franchise tag on Jackson.
ANALYSIS
In a statement released by the team, GM Eric DeCosta noted that the Ravens plan to continue to negotiate with Jackson (who is bouncing back from a PCL sprain in his knee) in the hope of reaching a long-term deal with the QB. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Baltimore placed the $32.4 million non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson, which means that the signal-caller can negotiate with other teams, with the Ravens retaining the right to match any offer sheet Jackson signs, or alternatively accept two first-round draft picks.

Team optimistic deal will get done
Speaking at the Combine on Wednesday, Ravens GM Eric DeCosta reiterated that he remains optimistic the team will reach a long-term extension with Jackson, according to Clifton Brown of BaltimoreRavens.com.
ANALYSIS
DeCosta and coach John Harbaugh expressed their support for Jackson in press conferences on Wednesday, and both said the same things back in January after the Ravens were eliminated from the playoffs. "We want to do what's best for the club," DeCosta said at the Combine. "We're trying to do what we can for Lamar. We want to make everybody happy. We want to make the Ravens happy. I want to make owner Steve Bisciotti happy. I want to make Lamar happy. I want to make our fans happy." The two sides seem far apart in contract talks, but the Ravens have made it clear they'll use the franchise tag if it comes to that.

Has support of Harbaugh, DeCosta
Ravens coach John Harbaugh and GM Eric DeCosta both said Thursday that they expect Jackson (knee) to remain with the team, Hayes Gardner of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Rumors have been swirling about Jackson's potential departure from Baltimore, with the 26-year-old scheduled for unrestricted free agency this offseason after a PCL sprain kept him out for the final month of the 2022 regular season and a playoff loss in Cincinnati. Harbaugh said he "200 percent" wants Jackson in Baltimore for years to come, while DeCosta was a bit measured bust still said the focus remains on signing Jackson to an extension (rather than trading him). If Jackson does return to Baltimore in 2023, it'll be his first time in an NFL offense that isn't either directed or heavily influenced by Greg Roman, who announced Thursday that he's parting ways with the Ravens after four years as their offensive coordinator. Neither Harbaugh nor DeCosta said anything about a timeline for Jackson's recovery from the knee injury or if surgery might be needed.
Jan 13, 2023
Ruled out for wild-card round
Jackson (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Cincinnati, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson still hasn't practiced since suffering a PCL sprain Week 13 and revealed Wednesday that his knee "remains unstable" nearly a month and a half after the injury. He may not be available in the playoffs even if the Ravens upset the Bengals this Sunday -- a tall task with Jackson ruled out and Tyler Huntley (shoulder) considered a game-time decision even after upgrading to full practice participation Friday.
Jan 12, 2023
Left knee 'remains unstable'
Jackson, who didn't practice Thursday, posted on his personal Twitter account that his left knee "remains unstable" as the Ravens prepare for Sunday's wild-card game at Cincinnati, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson logged his 17th DNP in a row Thursday as he continues his recovery from a knee injury that he sustained Week 13 against the Broncos. He clarified his health in back-to-back tweets, writing, "I've suffered a PCL Grade 2 sprain on the borderline of a strain 3. There is still inflammation surrounding my knee, and my knee remains unstable." Jackson thus appears as if he'll be ruled out for a sixth consecutive contest, which will be revealed on Friday's injury report. As for the Ravens' starting quarterback if that comes to pass, Tyler Huntley has been limited in both sessions this week and even resumed throwing Thursday as he deals with tendinitis in his right throwing shoulder, so he and Anthony Brown are the candidates to be under center for the Ravens on Sunday.
Jan 12, 2023
Another DNP on Thursday
Jackson (knee) didn't practice Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
When Jackson initially suffered a sprained PCL in his left knee on Dec. 4, he was given a recovery timeline of 1-to-3 weeks, but he has yet to step on the practice field since then. Thursday's DNP marks his 17th in a row, which places considerable doubt into his ability to play in Sunday's wild-card game at Cincinnati. Meanwhile, backup quarterback Tyler Huntley (shoulder) resumed throwing Thursday, putting him on a potential path to play this weekend. If Jackson and Huntley aren't able to suit up Sunday, Anthony Brown and practice-squad member Brett Hundley are the options to be under center for the Ravens.
Jan 11, 2023
Not at practice
Jackson (knee) isn't practicing Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Wednesday morning that Jackson "faces an uphill battle" to play in Sunday's game against the Bengals. The quarterback doesn't seem to be progressing as the team hoped after suffering a PCL sprain Dec. 4, and Jackson now has only two more chances to practice before the Ravens' first playoff game. Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley sat out Week 18 with a shoulder injury and was limited to non-throwing work during the open portion of Wednesday's practice.
Jan 11, 2023
Appears unlikely to play Sunday
Jackson (knee) faces an "uphill battle" to get back on the field for Sunday's wild-card game in Cincinnati, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garofolo of NFL Network report.
ANALYSIS
Though Adam Schefter of ESPN reported over the weekend that Jackson had a "strong chance" to be available for the Ravens' postseason opener, Rapoport notes that optimism about the quarterback's ability to play Sunday has begun to dwindle over the past 24 hours. Jackson, who hasn't practiced since suffering a PCL sprain on his left knee Dec. 4 against the Broncos, missed the Ravens' final five games of the regular season. While Jackson is reportedly working hard to rehab the knee, he apparently hasn't made enough progress to put himself in position to resuming practicing Wednesday. If Jackson remains a spectator in practice throughout the week, he'll likely be officially ruled out for the wild-card round Friday, which would then set the stage for Tyler Huntley (shoulder/wrist) to direct the Baltimore offense.
Jan 7, 2023
Optimism for playoff return
Jackson (knee), who has already been ruled out for Week 18 against the Bengals, could play in the team's playoff matchup the following week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson has not practiced in a month and didn't seem to be all that close for a pivotal Week 18 return against the Bengals, but the superstar quarterback may attempt to gut it out with the Ravens' 2022-23 season on the line next week. Coach John Harbaugh was "hopeful" Jackson could make his return next week, but as Schefter noted, there's still swelling in the quarterback's knee, which complicates a firm timeline for return.
Jan 6, 2023
Ruled out for Week 18
Jackson (knee) won't play Sunday against the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, coach John Harbaugh noted that he's "hopeful" regarding the QB's status for the start of the playoffs. This weekend, however, Jackson will remain sidelined, which sets the stage for Tyler Huntley (shoulder/wrist) to start Sunday's contest, health permitting. With that in mind, Harbaugh indicated that he thinks "there's a really good chance" Huntley can play this weekend.
Jan 6, 2023
Still not practicing
Jackson (knee) wasn't spotted at practice Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While Jackson is trending toward missing Sunday's game against the Bengals, Tyler Huntley (shoulder/wrist) has been limited at practice this week. If neither of the two are available this weekend, Anthony Brown would be in line to draw the start at QB for the Ravens in Week 18.
Jan 5, 2023
Still absent from practice
Jackson (knee) isn't practicing Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old has now missed 14 consecutive Ravens practices, and unless he reverses the trend Friday, he's all but certain to sit out his fifth consecutive game this Sunday in Cincinnati. Though Jackson's recovery from a PCL sprain of his left knee has taken longer than anticipated, the Ravens could still have their top signal-caller available for the wild-card round of the postseason if he's able to take more meaningful steps forward with his practice activity next week. Until Jackson is ready to go, however, the Ravens will turn to Tyler Huntley (shoulder/wrist) to direct the offense.
Jan 4, 2023
No return to practice
Jackson (knee) isn't practicing Wednesday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson hasn't played or practiced since Week 13 and is in danger of missing a fifth consecutive game. The Ravens may lean cautious even if he makes it back to practice by the end of the week, as their can't drop any lower than the No. 6 seed in the AFC and might not move up at all even with an upset win on the road this Sunday.
Dec 30, 2022
Ruled out for Week 17
Jackson has been ruled out for Sunday night's game against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
With Jackson -- who last saw game action in Week 13 -- unable to practice this week, he'll sit this one out, which sets the stage for Tyler Huntley to draw another start at QB for the Ravens on Sunday. Jackson's next chance to return to action will arrive in the team's regular-season finale in Week 18 versus the Bengals.
Dec 29, 2022
Not yet practicing
Jackson (knee) remained a non-participant in Thursday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Jackson was expected to resume football-related activities this week after missing the Ravens' previous three games with a PCL sprain in his left knee, it hasn't translated to any recorded or estimated practice reps. The Ravens will wait and see what, if anything, Jackson can do during Friday's practice session, but the 2019 NFL MVP looks to be trending toward a fourth straight absence this Sunday against the Steelers. Tyler Huntley took reps with the first-team offense once again Thursday and is continuing to stay ready for another start.
Dec 28, 2022
No return to practice
Jackson (knee) isn't practicing Wednesday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Tyler Huntley is taking the first-team reps and preparing for a fourth consecutive start. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Saturday that Jackson would return to some kind of on-field activity this week, but that might just mean running and individual work rather than actually practicing. The Ravens host the Steelers on Sunday night, and Jackson has two more chances to be cleared for practice before then.
Dec 24, 2022
Could return Week 17
Jackson (knee), who will miss his third straight game Saturday against the Falcons, is expected to get back on the field early next week and resume taking part in "football-related movements," with the Ravens then set to determine whether he's fit to start practicing, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson hasn't practiced in any fashion since suffering a PCL sprain of his left knee in Baltimore's Week 13 win over Denver, putting his availability up in the air until he's able to start taking reps again. Though the Ravens believe that Jackson will be able to play Week 17 against the Steelers if he's able to practice in some capacity, the dual-threat quarterback will first need to prove that his knee doesn't hinder him when he stops, starts and cuts before he's reintegrated into drills. At this stage, Rapoport relays that Jackson has responded well to running in a straight line and on the treadmill, but getting back on the field represents a hurdle he'll still have to overcome. Tyler Huntley (shoulder) is on track to make a third straight start this weekend and will likely continue to direct the Baltimore offense if Jackson misses additional time.
Dec 22, 2022
Ruled out for Week 16 game
The Ravens ruled Jackson (knee) out for Saturday's game against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Even though initial reports indicated that he was expected to miss only two games due to the PCL sprain he suffered to his left knee during the Ravens' Week 13 win over the Broncos, Jackson will be sidelined for a third consecutive contest this weekend after failing to resume practicing in any fashion since suffering the injury. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh hasn't provided many specifics regarding where exactly Jackson stands in his recovery from the injury, so at this stage, the 2019 NFL MVP looks uncertain to make it back for Baltimore's Week 17 matchup with the Steelers on Jan. 1. Tyler Huntley (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Saturday's contest, but he's expected to make his third consecutive start after he was able to practice in a limited capacity Friday for the second day in a row.
Dec 22, 2022
Not ready to start
Jackson (knee) is not in line to start Saturday's game against the Falcons, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per the report, coach John Harbaugh relayed that Tyler Huntley (shoulder) is slated to start the contest, with Jackson now targeting a potential return to the starting lineup in Week 17 against the Steelers.
Dec 22, 2022
Still not practicing
Jackson (knee) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Meanwhile, fellow QB Tyler Huntley was throwing Thursday after being listed as limited at practice Wednesday by a right shoulder issue. The Ravens' upcoming injury report will reveal whether Jackson has any chance to play Saturday against the Falcons, but his ongoing absence from practice suggests that Huntley is trending toward drawing another start in Week 16.
Dec 21, 2022
Sits out Wednesday's practice
Jackson (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson hasn't practiced since suffering a PCL sprain in his left knee Week 13 against Denver and is in danger of missing a third consecutive game when the Ravens host the Falcons on Saturday. The team hasn't ruled Jackson out yet, but the team once again seems to be preparing for Tyler Huntley to start.
Dec 20, 2022
Not ready for practice
Jackson (knee) didn't practice Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson is recovering from a PCL sprain and in danger of missing a third straight game when the Ravens host the Falcons on Saturday. There might be a bit more urgency after Tyler Huntley's brutal performance in Cleveland this past Saturday, but it seems Jackson isn't even at the point to force tough decisions -- at least not early in the week. A return to practice Wednesday or Thursday could make things interesting, at least.
Dec 20, 2022
Not seen at practice Tuesday
Jackson (knee) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of Tuesday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Since sustaining a PCL sprain in his left knee Week 13, Jackson hasn't been able to mix into any on-field drills, missing two games as a result of the injury. If he goes down as a non-participant Tuesday, he'll have two more sessions this week to potentially put himself on a path to returning Saturday against the Falcons. Having said that, if Jackson sits out again this weekend, Tyler Huntley would be in line for a third consecutive start under center for the Ravens.
Dec 17, 2022
Could return next week
The Ravens are hopeful that Jackson (knee) will be able to practice this coming week and potentially play next weekend against the Falcons, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
ANALYSIS
Jackson, who Rapoport notes is dealing with PCL sprain, has been ruled out for this Saturday's contest against the Browns, with Tyler Huntley slated to start in his place. However, it appears as though Jackson could possibly return to action for the 9-4 Ravens in Week 16, assuming no setbacks in the coming days.
Dec 15, 2022
Ruled out for second straight game
Jackson (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game at Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Jackson will miss his second straight game due to the left knee sprain he sustained in the Ravens' Week 13 win over the Broncos. Given that he hasn't taken the field in any capacity in the Ravens' subsequent six practices, Jackson can't be considered a lock to play Week 16 against the Falcons, at least at this juncture. Though head coach John Harbaugh stopped short of announcing a starter for Saturday's game, Tyler Huntley cleared the concussion protocol Thursday and doesn't carry a designation into the weekend, all but assuring that he'll fill in for Jackson again.
Dec 15, 2022
Not spotted at walk-through
Jackson (knee) wasn't spotted at Thursday's walk-through, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun and Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com report.
ANALYSIS
While Shaffer doesn't expect Jackson to be active Saturday against the Browns, Tyler Huntley (concussion protocol) was at Thursday's walk-through and appears to be on track to play this weekend. Added context regarding the duo's Week 15 status will arrive later Thursday when the Ravens' final injury report of the week is posted.
Dec 14, 2022
Still not practicing
Jackson (knee) remained sidelined at practice Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Back-to-back missed sessions cloud Jackson's status for Saturday's game against the Browns. On the plus side for the Ravens, Tyler Huntley (concussion) practiced for the second straight day Wednesday, and thus appears to be trending in the right direction ahead of Week 15 action.
Dec 13, 2022
Sits out first Week 15 practice
Jackson (knee) isn't participating in Tuesday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson missed his first game of the season this past Sunday against the Steelers, with Tyler Huntley stepping in under center in the Ravens' 16-14 win. Huntley exited that contest early after being diagnosed with a concussion, but he already seems to be making progress through the NFL's five-step protocols, as he took the field for Tuesday's session. Jackson, meanwhile, missed his fourth consecutive practice and doesn't look to be trending toward a return Saturday in Cleveland. If Jackson remains out and if Huntley can't clear the protocols in time, the Ravens would likely turn the offense over to undrafted rookie Anthony Brown.
Dec 11, 2022
On inactive list for Week 14
Jackson (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Steelers, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As was expected after the Ravens listed him as doubtful heading into the weekend following three consecutive missed practices, Jackson will miss his first game of the season due to the PCL sprain of his left knee that he sustained in Baltimore's Week 13 win over the Broncos. Tyler Huntley came on in relief of Jackson in that contest and will now draw the fifth start of his career Sunday. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jackson is facing an estimated 1-to-3-week recovery timeline and could be in danger of missing the Ravens' Dec. 17 game at Cleveland as well, though the team has yet to officially comment on the quarterback's status for the Week 15 contest.
Dec 11, 2022
May not play again until Week 16
Jackson (knee) may not suit up again until Saturday, Dec. 24 against the Falcons, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson already was slated to miss Sunday's game at Pittsburgh, considering the Ravens listed him as doubtful to play. However, he'll likely sit out Saturday, Dec. 17 in Cleveland, too, as he tends to a sprained PCL in his left knee that he initially picked up last Sunday versus the Broncos. The quarterback was given a prognosis of 1-to-3 weeks to recover from the injury, so it appears he's trending toward the back end of that timetable. As long as Jackson is sidelined, Tyler Huntley will direct Baltimore's offense, with practice-squad elevation Anthony Brown backing him up.
Dec 9, 2022
Gets doubtful designation
Jackson (knee) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
Jackson hasn't been completely ruled out, but all indications suggest that he'll sit out after failing to practice at all during the week. Baltimore won't need to make significant adjustments to its game plan, as Tyler Huntley -- who beat the Broncos in relief after Jackson got hurt last week -- can run the same style of offense Jackson usually does thanks to Huntley's dual-threat ability.
Dec 9, 2022
Still not practicing
Jackson (knee) didn't practice Friday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Jackson not participating in practice for a third straight day, Tyler Huntley appears to be trending toward getting his first start of the season Sunday against the Steelers. Friday's upcoming injury report should provide added clarity on that front, once Jackson's official Week 14 designation is revealed by the Ravens.
Dec 8, 2022
Sits out Thursday's practice
Jackson (knee) didn't take part in Thursday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With two straight absences from practice to begin the week, Jackson doesn't look on track to be available for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh while he contends with a PCL sprain of his left knee. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jackson's injury typically entails a 1-to-3-week recovery timeline, which supports head coach John Harbaugh's comments from Monday indicating that the star quarterback is "less likely" to suit up against the Steelers. Tyler Huntley, who came on in relief after Jackson's early exit in last Sunday's 10-9 win over the Broncos, thus appears in line to make his first start of the season this weekend.
Dec 7, 2022
Not practicing
Jackson (knee) isn't practicing Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While the Ravens haven't officially ruled Jackson out, the recent diagnosis of a PCL sprain makes Tyler Huntley the likely starter this Sunday in Pittsburgh (and perhaps for a week or three beyond that). Any practice participation from Jackson this week would be a surprise, after coach John Harbaugh deemed the QB "week-to-week" this Monday.
Dec 6, 2022
Has sprained PCL
Jackson has been diagnosed with a PCL sprain in his left knee, which will require 1-to-3 weeks in order to recover, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson didn't log any snaps after picking up a knee injury on the last play of the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Broncos. The issue initially was termed a mild left knee sprain, but testing didn't reveal its extent until Tuesday. Coach John Harbaugh called Jackson "week-to-week" Monday, while adding that the quarterback was less likely to be able to suit up Sunday in Pittsburgh, according to Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun. Assuming Jackson can't play this weekend, Tyler Huntley will earn his fifth start over the last two seasons in place of the team's No. 1 QB.
Dec 5, 2022
Considered week-to-week, per HC
Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Jackson (knee) is "week-to-week", but the quarterback is less likely to play Sunday against the Steelers, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was knocked out of Sunday's narrow win over the Broncos due to a knee injury, and while initial test results appear to be positive, it seems like the superstar quarterback may be trending more towards doubtful than questionable at this point. He's believed to be dealing with a mild left knee sprain, but there hasn't been official confirmation on a diagnosis. Tyler Huntley, who led a game-winning touchdown drive against Denver, would likely operate as the primary signal caller if Jackson is forced to miss any more game action.
Dec 5, 2022
May have mild knee sprain
Jackson is believed to have suffered a mild left knee sprain in Sunday's 10-9 win over the Broncos, but a firm diagnosis for his injury won't arrive until the results of his MRI on Monday are made available, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson suffered the injury on the final play of the first quarter of Sunday's game, when Broncos defender Jonathan Cooper landed on top of him on a sack. The signal-caller was evaluated in a medical tent on the sideline before heading to the locker room, with the Ravens then ruling him out for the day coming out of halftime. Backup Tyler Huntley stepped in and guided the Ravens to a go-ahead touchdown drive in the final minute, and he would be in line to start the team's Week 14 game in Pittsburgh next weekend if Jackson is unable to play. For now, the Ravens seem hopeful that Jackson avoided a major injury, even though head coach John Harbaugh suggested after Sunday's game that the star quarterback was somewhere between day-to-day and week-to-week, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. Unless the MRI reveals more serious damage to Jackson's knee than anticipated, Rapoport relays that the Ravens are optimistic the 25-year-old will need to miss just one game at the most.
Dec 4, 2022
Timeline for return TBD
Coach John Harbaugh relayed that the knee injury Jackson suffered Sunday against the Broncos is not a season-ending issue.
ANALYSIS
Harbaugh added that the QB is slated to undergo further testing Monday, with added context regarding Jackson's status slated to arrive in the coming days. At this stage, it's too early to say whether Jackson will be deemed day-to-day or week-to-week by the Ravens, but if he ends up missing time, Tyler Huntley would be in line to serve as the team's signal-caller in the meantime.
Dec 4, 2022
Won't return
Jackson (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Broncos, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson completed three of four passes for 11 yards and rushed once for nine yards before leaving the contest in the first half. Tyler Huntley has taken over at quarterback, but the Ravens currently don't have a healthy backup.
Dec 4, 2022
Injures knee Sunday
Jackson was forced out of Sunday's game against the Broncos with a knee injury.
ANALYSIS
Tyler Huntley is now in at QB for the Ravens. Prior to his exit from the contest, Jackson had completed three of four passes for 11 yards and ran once for nine yards.
Dec 1, 2022
Logs full practice Thursday
Jackson (quad) returned to a full practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
After exiting practice Wednesday early due to a quad issue, Jackson was listed as a full participant Thursday setting the stage for him to be a go Sunday against the Broncos. The Ravens' dual-threat signal caller is coming off an effort in Week 12 in which he completed 16 of 32 passes for 254 yards and a TD to go along with 14 rushing attempts for 89 yards in a 28-27 loss to the Jaguars.
Dec 1, 2022
Returns to practice field
Jackson (quadriceps) is participating in Thursday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Baltimore listed Jackson as a limited participant on its first Week 13 practice report issued Wednesday, after he was unable to finish the session while he received treatment for the quad issue. According to Hensley, Jackson wasn't present for the first 15 minutes of individual drills during Thursday's practice before taking the field. The Ravens will release their second practice report of the week later Thursday, when the extent of his participation will be known. Jackson isn't scheduled to meet with reporters until Friday and could shed more light on his injury at that point, but for the time being, the quarterback at least looks to be trending toward playing Sunday against the Broncos.
Nov 30, 2022
Limited by quad issue
Jackson was limited at practice Wednesday by a quad injury.
ANALYSIS
Per Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site, Jackson was slated to speak with reporters Wednesday but didn't after meeting with trainers prior to the end of practice. The QB is now scheduled to address the media Thursday or Friday, with his status now worth tracking in advance of Sunday's game against the Broncos now that he's managing a quad issue.
Nov 27, 2022
Racks up 343 total yards
Jackson completed 16 of 32 passes for 254 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 28-27 loss to Jacksonville. He added 14 rush attempts for 89 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson took a while to get going, as he managed only 88 passing yards and 37 rushing yards through two quarters. However, he racked up yardage in two scoring drives that concluded in the fourth quarter, the latter of which he capped with a 12-yard touchdown toss. Jackson's work on the ground was particularly positive for fantasy purposes, as it was his highest total since Week 3 despite the fact that he was on the injury report for a hip problem throughout the week. While he also narrowly missed a rushing score, Jackson topped 300 total yards for the third time in the campaign.
Nov 25, 2022
Set to play through hip issue
Jackson (hip) doesn't carry a designation into Sunday's game in Jacksonville after logging full participation in practices Thursday and Friday.
ANALYSIS
According to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, the hip injury Jackson has been dealing with this week isn't related to the one that previously limited the quarterback's practice activity in Week 7. Even though he approached the Ravens' game that week without a designation, Jackson threw for a season-low 120 yards in a 23-20 win over the Browns. As for his latest hip issue, Jackson said it wasn't something that bothered him during last week's 13-3 win over the Panthers, and the injury is "getting better" day by day. The Ravens are hopeful that Jackson will be able to perform better than he did the last time he managed a hip injury Week 7, though he'll have to make do in Jacksonville without starting left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle), who has been ruled out for Sunday's game. Patrick Mekari will be protecting Jackson's blind side in Stanley's stead.
Nov 24, 2022
Logs full practice
Jackson (hip) was listed as a full practice participant Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson missed Wednesday's practice, but his hip issue was downplayed afterward, with coach John Harbaugh noting that the QB would play Sunday against the Jaguars, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports. Thursday's listed full participation solidifies that Jackson will be a go this weekend and as long as he's available on any given week, the signal-caller's dual-threat skills make him a quality fantasy option.
Nov 23, 2022
Misses practice Wednesday
Jackson missed practice Wednesday due to a listed hip injury, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, coach John Harbaugh relayed that Jackson, who "had an issue" stemming from Baltimore's Week 11 game, is slated to play Sunday against the Jaguars, but the team wanted to "hold (the QB) back and let him rest" Wednesday. We'll revisit Jackson's status Thursday, but a return to practice in any capacity would help solidify his Week 12 availability.
Nov 23, 2022
Not spotted at practice
Jackson (undisclosed) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of Wednesday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The report notes that coach John Harbaugh is expected to address Jackson's status after practice. Hensley notes that the QB did appear to receive treatment from a trainer while on the bench during this past Sunday's win over the Panthers, though he didn't miss any snaps in the contest.
Nov 20, 2022
Battles through illness in win
Jackson completed 24 of 33 passes for 209 yards with no touchdowns and one interception while adding 11 carries for 31 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 13-3 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson and the entire Ravens offense looked out of sorts most of the afternoon, but the star signal-caller was able to put together a serviceable fantasy performance overall with the help of a tough one-yard touchdown run just past the midway point of the fourth quarter. Jackson had top target Mark Andrews back from a shoulder injury as well and connected with him on six occasions for 63 yards, but he notably displayed his greatest rapport with journeyman Demarcus Robinson (nine receptions, 128 yards). Jackson failed to throw a touchdown for only the second time all season, and he'll aim to revive his production in that category against the Jaguars defense in a Week 12 road battle.
Nov 20, 2022
Cleared to start Sunday
Jackson (illness) is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Jackson missed Friday's practice after coming down with a non-COVID-19-related ailment and was listed as questionable heading into the weekend, but he demonstrated enough progress over the subsequent 48 hours to gain clearance for the contest. The Ravens haven't provided any indication that Jackson will be limited as a result of the illness, and he'll benefit from having his top pass catcher - tight end Mark Andrews (shoulder/knee) - back in the lineup this week following a one-game absence.
Nov 20, 2022
Remains on track to play Sunday
Jackson (illness), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, remains on track to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson is also expected to have his top target, Mark Andrews (shoulder/knee), available, as both he and the tight end are on track to be officially cleared when the Ravens release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Though Jackson was held out of Friday's practice on account of the illness, he's apparently made enough progress in the 48 hours since to take the field Sunday without any restrictions. Fantasy managers who have been regularly including Jackson in lineups all season can probably feel comfortable rolling him out Week 11 while he faces a Panthers defense that ranks in the bottom 10 of the NFL in both yards and points per game allowed.
Nov 18, 2022
Officially questionable for Sunday
Jackson (illness), who missed Friday's practice, is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Panthers, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Earlier Friday, coach John Harbaugh announced Jackson's absence was related to an illness, but he also expects the quarterback to be well enough to start for the Ravens in Week 11, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. Still, with a designation attached to Jackson heading into the weekend, his status won't be confirmed until about 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Nov 18, 2022
Misses practice, in line to start
Jackson missed Friday's practice due to an illness, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
That said, coach John Harbaugh indicated that Jackson will be fine and remains on track to start Sunday's game against the Panthers. Following the QB's missed practice, however, Jackson still figures to head into the weekend with an injury designation ahead of the Ravens' 1:00 ET kickoff.

Not spotted at practice Friday
Jackson (undisclosed) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of Friday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The QB practiced fully both Wednesday and Thursday, but his status is now worth tracking ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers. Friday's final injury report is slated to add further context with regard to Jackson's Week 11 availability.
Nov 7, 2022
Remains aggressive with legs
Jackson completed 12 of 22 passes for 133 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Monday's 27-13 win over the Saints. He added 11 rushes for 82 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson got off to a quick start through the air by leading the Ravens on an 11-play, 76-yard touchdown drive on their second possession that he capped with a 24-yard touchdown toss to Isaiah Likely. He slowed down through the air from there, but he found success with his legs, ripping off runs of 17, 16 and 12 yards. The end result was his seventh game this season with over 50 rushing yards. That has helped him maintain a moderate amount of fantasy value despite having recorded multiple touchdowns in only one of his last six contests.
Oct 27, 2022
Strong all-around effort in win
Jackson completed 27 of 38 passes for 238 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Ravens' 27-22 win over the Buccaneers on Thursday night. He also rushed nine times for 43 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was much busier than usual through the air, putting up a season high number of pass attempts. Jackson also compiled his second-best passing yardage total of the campaign and threw multiple touchdown passes for the first time since Week 3, despite losing Mark Andrews to a knee injury early. Jackson's rushing yardage total wasn't as elevated as in recent weeks, either, but his pair of third-quarter touchdown passes to Kenyan Drake and Isaiah Likely of five and 10 yards, respectively, allowed Baltimore to erase a 10-3 deficit. With two straight wins, Jackson and the Ravens head into a Week 9 road matchup against the Saints on Monday night, Nov. 7 with plenty of momentum.
Oct 23, 2022
Modest numbers in Week 7 win
Jackson completed nine of 16 passes for 120 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Ravens' 23-20 win over the Browns on Sunday. He also rushed 10 times for 59 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was able to sit back and lean on the returning Gus Edwards (knee), who handled 16 carries and scored two touchdowns in his first game action since 2020. Baltimore's defense also pitched in five sacks, allowing Jackson to attempt his fewest passes of the season. It was the star quarterback's third sub-200-yard tally through the air in the last four games, but the victory was naturally of overriding importance to a struggling Ravens team that had blown several games in the second half already this season. Jackson now will take aim at the reeling Buccaneers defense in a Week 8 Thursday night road showdown.
Oct 20, 2022
Practices in full
Jackson (hip) returned to a full practice Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was listed as limited Wednesday, but his return to a full session Thursday puts the Ravens' QB in line to start Sunday's game against the Browns. Given Jackson's proven ability to supplement his passing production with rushing stats, the 25-year-old remains an automatic fantasy play as long as he's healthy and available.
Oct 19, 2022
Limited by hip issue
Jackson (hip) was limited at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
That said, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site noted that coach John Harbaugh didn't seem concerned about his QB's status for Sunday's game against the Browns. However, Jackson will likely need to practice fully by Friday in order to avoid a Week 7 injury designation.
Oct 16, 2022
Costly turnover in loss
Jackson completed 17 of 32 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Giants. He added 77 rushing yards on seven carries.
ANALYSIS
Jackson connected with Mark Andrews regularly throughout the day, but he struggled to consistently connect with any other pass catcher in the absence of Rashod Bateman (foot). The end result was only 6.6 yards per attempt, though he did manage to salvage his stat line with 77 rushing yards. All of that work was overshadowed by a fumble late in the fourth quarter that all but clinched a Giants' victory. After beginning the season with three or more touchdowns in each of his first three games, Jackson has only one touchdown in each of his last three matchups.
Oct 10, 2022
Leads team to narrow victory
Jackson completed 19 of 32 pass attempts for 174 yards, a touchdown and an interception while rushing 12 times for 58 yards in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Jackson turned in his second mediocre passing game in a row (159.0 passing yards per game and more INTs than TDs) after a torrid start to the season. The dual-threat quarterback did provide his fantasy managers with a burst of rushing yards on the final drive of the game to bolster his line and lead the Ravens to a key victory within the division. Even with this brief cold spell (by his elite standards), the impending unrestricted free agent remains one of the best producers at the position. Jackson will lead the 3-2 Ravens into a tough matchup against the Giants' much-improved defense next Sunday.
Oct 2, 2022
Held in check during Week 4 loss
Jackson completed 20 of 29 passes for 144 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions and rushed 11 times for 73 yards in the Ravens' 23-20 loss to the Bills on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson and the Ravens got off to a torrid start with 20 first-half points, with one of the touchdowns coming on a one-yard shovel pass to J.K. Dobbins. Jackson also broke off several productive runs throughout the game, but Baltimore's failure to score a single second-half point is partly an indictment on the star quarterback, who threw both his interceptions in the fourth quarter. The second was the most critical, as it came in the end zone on fourth down at the end of a 14-play, 93-yard drive when coach John Harbaugh opted to bypass a gimme field-goal attempt that would have given his team the lead. Jackson will now aim to bounce back from his season-low passing yardage total when he faces the Bengals in a primetime divisional clash next Sunday night.
Sep 25, 2022
Another stellar showing Sunday
Jackson completed 18 of 29 passes for 218 yards with four touchdowns and one interception, adding 107 yards and another score on 11 rushes in Sunday's 37-26 win over the Patriots on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson continued the stellar start to his contract season with another lights-out effort, one that saw him essentially single-handedly topple a resilient Patriots team on the road. Jackson connected with Mark Andrews from five and 16 yards out in the first half his first pair of scoring tosses before finding Josh Oliver and Devin Duvernay for the latter two touchdown passes, the final one a spectacular play in the right corner of the end zone. Factoring in a nine-yard scoring scamper with three minutes remaining that sealed the game for Baltimore, it was a spectacular fantasy performance for Jackson, who now has 12 total touchdowns through three games. Jackson now turns his sights to a Week 4 showdown at home against Josh Allen and the Bills.
Sep 22, 2022
Logs full practice
Jackson (right elbow) practiced fully Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, on Thursday Jackson shed the sleeve on his right arm that he sported Wednesday and resumed throwing. With a full practice behind him, Jackson is now slated to start Sunday's game against the Patriots, as coach John Harbaugh indicated would be the case Wednesday. Through his first two games this season, Jackson has thrown for 531 yards and rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown, while logging a 6:1 TD:INT ratio.
Sep 21, 2022
Dealing with sore elbow
Jackson was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a right elbow injury, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson reportedly was an observer for much of practice while backup QB Tyler Huntley threw to the Baltimore pass catchers. Even if he didn't do much, Jackson's participation in any capacity suggests the injury to his throwing elbow isn't too serious. He showed no signs of limitation this past Sunday, piling up 437 total yards and four TDs in a 42-38 loss to the Dolphins. For his part, coach John Harbaugh noted Wednesday that Jackson will be playing Sunday against the Patriots, portraying the signal-caller's practice limitations as "just a normal course of the season thing."
Sep 18, 2022
Prolific effort in loss
Jackson completed 21 of 29 passes for 318 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Ravens' 42-38 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. He also rushed nine times for 119 yards and another score while committing a fumble that was recovered by Baltimore.
ANALYSIS
It's difficult to envision the Ravens losing a game in which Jackson put up the numbers he did Sunday, but that's exactly what came to pass courtesy of the Dolphins' jaw-dropping 28-point fourth quarter. Jackson was outplayed on the stat sheet by Tua Tagovailoa and his six touchdown passes, yet the 2019 MVP was the star of the first three quarters with touchdown tosses of 75, one and 12 yards to Rashod Bateman, Mark Andrews and Demarcus Robinson, respectively. Jackson added a spectacular, trademark 79-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, making it a spectacular fantasy afternoon in defeat. Jackson and the Ravens will look to regroup after the devastating defeat when they hit the road and tangle with the Patriots in a Week 3 matchup.
Sep 11, 2022
Tosses three TDs in Week 1 win
Jackson completed 17 of 30 passes for 213 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 24-9 win over the Jets. He added 17 yards on six rushing attempts.
ANALYSIS
Jackson had just 83 passing yards and four rushing yards at halftime, but that passing total included a 25-yard touchdown to Devin Duvernay, which helped the Ravens take a 10-3 lead into the locker room. The 25-year-old quarterback linked up with Duvernay again for a 17-yard touchdown in the third quarter, then uncorked a deep ball to Rashod Bateman for a 55-yard touchdown later in the third. It's become a running theme with Jackson that teams with extensive preparation have game planned better against his dual-threat style, but the Dolphins won't have that luxury in Week 2. Expect Jackson to do more damage on the ground against Miami, especially if running back J.K. Dobbins (knee) is ready to return to Baltimore's backfield.
Sep 9, 2022
No contract extension by deadline
Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta announced Friday that Jackson and the team have not come to terms on a long-term contract extension, setting up the quarterback to play out the 2022 season on the final year of his rookie deal.
ANALYSIS
Without an extension by Friday's self-imposed deadline, Jackson is primed to play out the 2022 campaign on his fifth-year option. The star quarterback's rookie deal will have fully run its course next March, perhaps positioning him for a franchise tag in 2023. In any case, this season will see Jackson working to lead an aerial attack headlined by TE Mark Andrews and WR Rashod Bateman, with a rushing game that may not have J.K. Dobbins (knee) at 100 percent health right away. Jackson will benefit from a favorable Week 1 matchup on the road against a Jets team led by Joe Flacco.
Aug 25, 2022
Rested until Week 1
Jackson won't play in Saturday's exhibition against Washington, with the Ravens holding him out all preseason ahead of a Week 1 matchup with the Jets, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens played it safe with Jackson, who put on muscle in the offseason and figures to lead a run-first offense after last year's squad shifted more toward the pass. The team is counting on TE Mark Andrews and WR Rashod Bateman to pull a lot of weight in the passing game, with Jackson's ancillary weapons mostly being young, unproven mid-round picks. He'll do much of his damage on the ground this year, but his Week 1 matchup may be more favorable from a passing standpoint, as the Jets' D-line is the relative strength of a mostly shaky defense.
Aug 17, 2022
Won't play this week
Coach John Harbaugh said Jackson and "some of the other starters" will not play in Sunday's preseason game at Arizona.
ANALYSIS
Jackson will watch for a second straight week, leaving Aug. 27 against Washington as his lone opportunity for an appearance this preseason. It won't be shocking if the Ravens hold him out of that one as well, considering he's a veteran QB with a returning offensive coordinator (Greg Roman) and no new pass catchers of note.
Aug 6, 2022
Not playing preseason opener
Jackson will not play in the preseason opener against the Titans, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
It comes as no surprise that head coach John Harbaugh would hold the dynamic dual-threat quarterback out of the first preseason game, as he is likely trying to protect the engine behind the offense to avoid any risk of injury. Jackson's favorite target Mark Andrews will also miss the game among a handful of other veterans, leaving the second preseason game August 21 against the Cardinals as the most likely 2022 debut for a number of key Ravens players.
Jun 28, 2022
Adds bulk in offseason
Jackson reported to the Ravens' minicamp at 220 pounds after adding upwards of 15 pounds of muscle mass during the offseason.
ANALYSIS
The added strength is notable for Jackson as a quarterback who relies heavily on his rushing ability to threaten defenses. He missed the final four games of the 2021 season due to an ankle injury suffered in Cleveland. The added bulk could help Jackson hold up over the course of the 17-game season. Reports around camp also noted that Jackson offseason work as a passer was also paying dividends as his passes had more zip and his fundamentals looked more crisp. Jackson is heading into the final year of his rookie deal but an extension could be on the table before the season gets underway.
Jun 13, 2022
Reports to minicamp
Jackson is present Monday for the start of the Ravens' mandatory minicamp, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Set to earn a $23 million salary in 2022 -- the final year of his rookie deal -- Jackson has been vocal about his desire for a long-term contract. Though the Ravens have yet to work out an extension with the 25-year-old, it apparently won't prompt him to hold out. Jackson was sidelined down the stretch late in the 2021 season due to a persistent right ankle injury, but he appears to be back at full strength as the Ravens gear up for the 2022 campaign.
Feb 16, 2022
Recovers from ankle injury
Jackson's ankle has healed and he's resumed working out with teammates, Ryan Mink of BaltimoreRavens.com reports.
ANALYSIS
A bone bruise in his right ankle kept Jackson sidelined for the final four games of the 2021 campaign, but it sounds like he'll enjoy a normal, healthy offseason before the Ravens hold spring practices in May and June. The bigger concern is a potential contract extension, with Jackson scheduled to make $23.1 million in 2022 under the fifth-year option on his rookie contract. A new deal won't be cheap from a real-money standpoint, but it might allow the Ravens to reduce Jackson's cap hit for the upcoming season, which in turn would help the team gather reinforcements for its offensive line and defense.
Jan 14, 2022
Season hindered by injury
Jackson (ankle) finished the season completing 64 percent of his passes for 2,882 yards, 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 12 games. He added 133 rushes for 767 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
ANALYSIS
It was an injury-marred season for the franchise quarterback as an illness cost him a game and an ankle injury kept him out for the final month. When healthy, Jackson showed improvement as a passer, especially in terms of generating explosive plays as his 41 completions of 20+ yards nearly matched what he did in 15 games in his MVP season. He also led comebacks from double-digit deficits against the Chiefs, Colts and Vikings, something that he had previously drawn criticism for in years past. Still, it wasn't a perfect season from Jackson as he registered a career-high 13 interceptions and lost three fumbles. It's important to note that the Baltimore offense was upended late in training camp with its top two running backs suffering season-ending injuries and its first-round receiver going out with a core muscle injury that sidelined him well into the year. This put more on Jackson's shoulders and he still managed to put the Ravens in playoff position before illness and injury railroaded his season. Jackson e
Jan 7, 2022
Officially ruled out for Week 18
Jackson (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
With Jackson still unavailable due to his ankle injury, Tyler Huntley has been confirmed as the Ravens' Week 18 starting QB, while Josh Johnson is set to serve as the team's No. 2 signal-caller Sunday.
Jan 7, 2022
Won't start Sunday
Coach John Harbaugh announced Friday that Tyler Huntley will start Sunday's regular-season finale against the Steelers. Jackson (ankle) hasn't played since Week 14.
ANALYSIS
Per Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun, Harbaugh didn't update Jackson's injury status, but given that the QB won't start Sunday's contest, it looks like the Ravens are likely to officially rule Jackson out once the team's final Week 18 injury report is posted.
Jan 6, 2022
Misses another practice
Jackson (ankle) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As Hensley points out, Jackson has only practiced once in the past 25 days, so at this stage the QB's status for Sunday's game against the Steelers remains cloudy. If Jackson remains sidelined this weekend, Tyler Huntley would be in line to start the Ravens' regular-season finale.
Jan 5, 2022
Not practicing
Jackson (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
It isn't a great sign for his Week 18 availability, though coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Jackson would have a chance to make it back for Sunday's season finale against the Steelers. A return to practice Thursday or Friday would give the Ravens a chance to evaluate Jackson before making that decision, though there may also be some sentiment toward caution with Baltimore's long-shot playoff hopes riding on a Jacksonville upset of Indianapolis, among other things.
Jan 3, 2022
Chance to return in Week 18
Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Jackson (ankle) has a chance to play Sunday against Pittsburgh, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Harbaugh said that Jackson has been pushing to play recently, but he was forced to miss a third consecutive game in Sunday's loss to the Rams. The 24-year-old was limited in last Wednesday's practice before being kept off the field Thursday and Friday, and he'll likely need to log more practice time ahead of Week 18 if he hopes to return against the Steelers. If Jackson remains sidelined, Tyler Huntley would likely be in line for another start.
Jan 2, 2022
Missing third straight game
Jackson (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Rams, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson initially appeared to be trending toward a return from a two-game absence after he opened this week as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Unfortunately, Jackson was limping badly during that session while battling the bone bruise in his right ankle, prompting the Ravens to hold him out of practices Thursday and Friday before listing him as questionable for the Week 17 game. Jackson didn't demonstrate enough progress heading into Sunday to get the green light to play, paving the way for Tyler Huntley to make his second start in three games and third overall of the season.
Jan 2, 2022
Week 17 status TBD
Though the Ravens may elect to take a decision with Jackson (ankle) up to game-time, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network suggests that Tyler Huntley profiles as the likely starter for Sunday's game against the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Jackson, who last suited up in Week 14, is officially listed as questionable after missing practice Thursday and Friday. Fortunately for those considering either of the Ravens' top two QBs in Week 17 fantasy lineups, the team kicks off at 1:00 ET on Sunday.
Dec 31, 2021
Officially questionable for Week 17
Jackson (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams after not practicing Thursday or Friday.
ANALYSIS
Coach John Harbaugh noted Friday that Jackson "has a chance to play" in the contest, but if that doesn't happen, Tyler Huntley, who came off the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, is available to fill in at QB on Sunday. Look for added context with regard to Jackson's Week 17 status to arrive late Saturday or early Sunday when ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provide their weekly injury updates.
Dec 31, 2021
Could play Sunday, per Harbaugh
Coach John Harbaugh noted Friday that Jackson (ankle) "has a chance to play on Sunday (against the Rams), we'll have to see."
ANALYSIS
Harbaugh's words imply that Jackson, who didn't practice Thursday or Friday, is likely to be listed as questionable on the Ravens' final Week 17 injury report. If Jackson is unable to play this weekend, however, Tyler Huntley is available to fill in at QB now that he's off the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Dec 31, 2021
Not practicing Friday
Jackson (ankle) wasn't spotted at Friday's practice, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
While it remains to be seen how the Ravens will officially list Jackson on Friday's final injury report, Zrebiec suggests that at this stage Tyler Huntley seems likely to start at QB for Baltimore against the Rams on Sunday.
Dec 30, 2021
Not practicing Thursday
Jackson (ankle) isn't practicing Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
As Hensley notes, this comes a day after Jackson was limping badly during Wednesday's session. Now that he's off the reserve/COVID-19 list, Tyler Huntley is expected to handle the Ravens' first-team QB reps Thursday. In light of Jackson's absence, what he's able to do Friday will be telling with regard to his status for Sunday's game against the Rams, but now that Huntley is back in the mix, Baltimore's signal-caller situation is less taxed that this past weekend, when Josh Johnson drew a spot start and Kenji Bahar served as his backup.
Dec 29, 2021
Limping in return to practice
Jackson (ankle) had a "pronounced limp" Wednesday in his return to a limited practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hensley was one of at least three Baltimore beat reporters to mention the limp, with Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun adding that Jackson relied on his upper body rather than legs/base for arm strength, while Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic notes that the QB didn't move much and limped when he did. None of that means Jackson won't make it back for Sunday's game against the Rams, but it does at least suggest his mobility will be limited if he plays. Meanwhile, backup QB Tyler Huntley is still on the COVID list, leaving Week 16 starter Josh Johnson as the only healthy signal-caller at Wednesday's practice.
Dec 29, 2021
Limited practice expected
Jackson (ankle) is expected to practice in a limited fashion Wednesday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson hasn't suited up since Week 14, but his looming return to practice has him trending in the right direction as Sunday's game against the Rams approaches. For now, Tyler Huntley remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list, so Week 16 starter Josh Johnson remains Baltimore's healthiest available signal caller ahead of the team's contest against Los Angeles.
Dec 28, 2021
May practice Wednesday
Jackson (ankle) has a chance to practice Wednesday, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official site reports. "I'm looking forward to that," coach John Harbaugh said Monday.
ANALYSIS
Harbaugh expressed hope that all of Jackson, Tyler Huntley (illness) and Josh Johnson are on the field to begin Week 17 prep. Jackson hasn't practiced at all since suffering a sprained right ankle Dec. 12 at Cleveland, while Huntley landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday. That combination gave the journeyman Johnson a spot start this past Sunday in Cincinnati, and he took advantage of the opportunity by completing 28 of 40 passes for 304 yards, two touchdowns and one interception and rushing five times for 10 yards. How practice breaks down between the three will determine who is under center versus the Rams, but a healthy Jackson would get the nod in any scenario.
Dec 25, 2021
Won't play Sunday
Jackson (ankle) won't travel with the Ravens for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
With Jackson unavailable and reports that Tyler Huntley is headed to the reserve/COVID-19 list, Josh Johnson is now poised to start at QB for the Ravens on Sunday.
Dec 24, 2021
Listed as questionable, not likely to start
Jackson (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals after not practicing this past week, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Zrebiec and Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network, at this stage Tyler Huntley -- who didn't practice Friday due to an illness and is also listed listed as questionable -- is expected to start at QB for the Ravens this weekend, assuming he's available. As Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com notes, Josh Johnson was the only available signal caller at Friday's practice, and in the event that neither Jackson or Huntley are out there for Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff, he'd be next in line for the Week 16 assignment.
Dec 23, 2021
Misses another practice
Jackson (ankle) didn't practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Back-to-back absences set the stage for Friday's walkthrough to be Jackson's only chance to be listed as a practice participant in any capacity this week, per Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun. Meanwhile Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site relays that offensive coordinator Greg Roman reiterated that the team is taking it "day-by-day" with the star QB, who hasn't practiced since suffering an ankle injury back on Dec. 5. Though Baltimore isn't ruling Jackson out for Sunday's game against the Bengals at this stage, Mink notes that Tyler Huntley is preparing to potentially start his third game of the season this weekend.
Dec 22, 2021
Held out of practice
Jackson (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Jackson could resume practicing as soon as Wednesday. It didn't happen, of course, and Harbaugh didn't say much about the team's QB situation prior to Wednesday's practice. Furthermore, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic adds that Jackson may be dealing with a bone bruise, rather than just a lower-ankle sprain. That doesn't rule him out for the upcoming game against Cincinnati on Sunday, but it does suggest pain management/tolerance will be a consideration. Tyler Huntley will get another start if Jackson can't go.
Dec 20, 2021
Could practice Wednesday
Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that he's "hopeful" Jackson (ankle) will be able to practice Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was unavailable for Sunday's loss to the Packers due to an ankle injury. Harbaugh didn't confirm the weekend report that the 24-year-old is dealing with a bone bruise in his right ankle, but he's apparently feeling better Monday. He should have a chance to return Sunday against the Bengals if he's able to participate in practice this week.
Dec 19, 2021
Inactive Sunday
Jackson (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Packers.
ANALYSIS
With Jackson unavailable for the contest, Tyler Huntley is slated to start at QB in his place, while Josh Johnson is on hand to back him up. Jackson will thus target a potential return to action next Sunday against the Bengals.
Dec 19, 2021
Dealing with bone bruise in ankle, per report
Jackson, who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers, is dealing with a bone bruise in his ankle, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Previous reports referred to the injury that clouds the QB's Week 15 status as an ankle sprain. Per Schefter, earlier in the week the Ravens didn't expect Jackson to be able to face Green Bay, but with the signal-caller reportedly moving around better of late, that possibility hasn't yet been ruled out. If Jackson ultimately doesn't gain clearance to start, Tyler Huntley would get the nod in his place. Look for added clarity on the situation to arrive closer to Baltimore's 4:25 ET kickoff.
Dec 18, 2021
Week 15 status TBD
The status of Jackson (ankle) remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Jackson didn't practice all week, coach John Harbaugh noted that the quarterback still "has a chance" to play Sunday With that in mind, a call on Jackson's Week 15 status could go down to the wire in advance of Baltimore's 4:25 ET kickoff. If he's unable to start, Tyler Huntley would get the nod in his place, with Josh Johnson on hand to back him up. Look for added context with regard to Jackson's playing prospects to arrive late Saturday or early Sunday, when the likes of Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network provide their weekly injury updates.
Dec 18, 2021
Iffy for Week 15 start
Jackson (ankle) doesn't seem likely to draw the start in Sunday's game against the Packers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network noted.
ANALYSIS
Jackson, who did not practice this past week, is officially listed as questionable for the contest and the Ravens have indicated that a call on the QB's status could go down to the wire. However, Rapoport suggests that Jackson's low-ankle sprain has him trending toward yielding the Week 15 starting nod to Tyler Huntley. In any case, this is a situation worth monitoring closely as Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff approaches.
Dec 17, 2021
Questionable for Week 15
Jackson (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers after not practicing this past week, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
That said, the Ravens are still holding out hope that the QB could potentially be available for Sunday's 4:25 ET contest, ESPN's Jamison Hensley reports. With that in mind, coach John Harbaugh noted Friday, "I'd say he has a chance [of playing Sunday]", adding "it's just one of those things where it's an ankle sprain where if he starts feeling good and we'll check him out prior to pregame." Look for added context with regard to Jackson's Week 15 playing prospects by late Saturday or early Sunday, when the likes of ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provide their weekly injury/status updates. If Jackson isn't able to play this weekend, Tyler Huntley would start at QB in his place, with Josh Johnson on hand to back him up.
Dec 17, 2021
Sits out Friday's walkthrough
Jackson (ankle) didn't participate at Friday's walk-through practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With Jackson not practicing for the third consecutive day, his availability for Sunday's matchup with the Packers isn't looking promising. Head coach John Harbaugh labeled the 24-year-old "day-to-day" earlier this week, but added clarity on Jackson's status won't come until later Friday, when Baltimore releases its final Week 15 injury report. Tyler Huntley is poised to start under center if Jackson is unable to play Sunday.
Dec 16, 2021
Misses another practice
Jackson (ankle) didn't practice again Thursday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson has now missed back-to-back sessions, with Shaffer relaying that Friday's practice is slated to be more of a walk-through workout. Per Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site, offensive coordinator Greg Roman indicated that the status of the QB for Sunday's game against the Packers "could go down to the wire." For his part, coach John Harbaugh noted Wednesday that it's a "day-to-day situation" for Jackson. It therefore seems likely that Jackson will be listed as questionable on the team's final injury report Friday and approach Week 15 action viewed as a game-time decision.
Dec 15, 2021
Day-to-day, per Harbaugh
Jackson (sprained ankle) won't practice Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per coach John Harbaugh, Jackson is considered day-to-day and has a chance to play Sunday against the Packers. In Jackson's absence from practice, Tyler Huntley is slated to take the Ravens' first-team QB reps.
Dec 13, 2021
Managing low-ankle sprain
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Jackson suffered a low-ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Browns, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was unable to return to Sunday's game after he sprained his right ankle in the second quarter, but the team confirmed Monday that the quarterback isn't dealing with a high-ankle sprain, an injury that likely would have required a multi-week absence. While the Ravens will monitor Jackson over the next few days, Harbaugh said that the 2019 NFL MVP has a chance to play this weekend against Green Bay.
Dec 12, 2021
Will be evaluated Monday
The Ravens plan to see how Jackson feels Monday before any determinations are made on how to proceed with the QB's right ankle injury, Dianna Russini of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Russini, there's hope from the team that Jackson, who sported a walking boot following Sunday's loss to the Browns, may have escaped with a low-ankle sprain. However, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic relays that there is some concern it may be a high-ankle issue for the signal-caller. If Jackson is forced to miss any time, Tyler Huntley is next up for Baltimore's QB reps.
Dec 12, 2021
Sprained right ankle confirmed
Coach John Harbaugh confirmed after Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Browns that Jackson suffered a right ankle sprain in the contest, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
"We'll look at it more tomorrow and see where we're at," Harbaugh noted in his Sunday post-game remarks. With that in mind, consider Jackson day-to-day as next weekend's game against the Packers approaches.
Dec 12, 2021
Dealing with right ankle issue
Jackson (ankle), who was carted to the locker room after taking a hit in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Browns, finished the contest with four completions for 17 yards and two carries for five yards,NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, Baltimore's star QB, who was replaced by Tyler Huntley, was unable to put any pressure on his right foot prior to being carted off, so it's possible that Jackson's status for next Sunday's game against the Packers could be in danger.
Dec 12, 2021
Suffers ankle injury
Jackson was carted to the locker room after suffering an ankle injury during Sunday's game against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, prior to being carted off, Jackson was unable to put any pressure on right foot. In his absence, Tyler Huntley is in at QB for the Ravens.
Dec 5, 2021
Modest day at the office
Jackson completed 23 of 37 passes for 253 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Sunday's 20-19 loss at Pittsburgh. He added eight carries for 55 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson and the Ravens offense marched right down the field on the opening possession of the game, but when faced with a third down at the Steelers' 10-yard line he incurred heavy pressure from an unblocked T.J. Watt and heaved a throw into the end zone that was easily picked off by Minkah Fitzpatrick. After combining for 18 interceptions through his first three seasons, Jackson already is up to 13 through 11 games, which ranks second in the NFL to Joe Burrow's 14. Jackson salvaged his day with a six-yard scoring strike with 12 seconds remaining, but his subsequent two-point conversion attempt fell incomplete. He'll aim to bounce back next Sunday at Cleveland.
Nov 29, 2021
Gets win despite four INTs
Jackson completed 20 of 32 pass attempts for 165 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions while adding 68 rushing yards on 17 attempts in Sunday's 16-10 win over Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Jackson struggled mightily against one of the league's top pass defenses, finishing with a new season low in passing yards (165) and a new high in turnovers (four). The star quarterback's elite rushing abilities helped salvage what would have been a near net zero in passing fantasy production. Still, this type of performance didn't help fantasy managers in the same way Jackson's clutch finish helped the Ravens secure victory. Luckily for his managers, poor showings such as these are far and few between. Jackson will look to re-establish himself as an elite fantasy quarterback in another AFC South showdown against the Steelers next Sunday.
Nov 24, 2021
Good to go after full practice
Jackson (illness) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson may need a couple days to regain his conditioning but otherwise appears in line for a normal week of preparation after missing Sunday's win over Chicago with a non-COVID illness. Top wideout Marquise Brown (thigh) also returned to practice Wednesday, albeit as a limited participant, potentially setting up a return Sunday night against the Browns. It's hard to say what Jackson can expect in terms of the matchup, as Cleveland's talented defense has been wildly inconsistent from week to week this year, holding six opponents below 17 points but also giving up 33 or more on four occasions. Jackson told reporters Wednesday that he's feeling great and is "120 percent" sure he's playing this week, per ESPN's Jamison Hensley.
Nov 24, 2021
Set to practice Wednesday
Jackson (illness) will practice Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It remains to be seen how the Ravens list Jackson's participation level, but Hensley previously noted that the QB, who was inactive for this past weekend's game against the Bears was feeling better in advance of the team's Sunday night contest versus the Browns.
Nov 22, 2021
Feeling better Monday
Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Jackson (illness) is feeling better, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was held out of Sunday's game against the Bears due to a non-COVID illness, but the team's medical staff hasn't yet identified the nature of his ailment. While it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to play Sunday against the Browns, it's encouraging that he's feeling better to begin the week.
Nov 21, 2021
Source of illness uncertain
Jackson, who is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bears, isn't dealing with an illness related to COVID-19, but the Ravens' medical staff hasn't yet identified the nature of his ailment, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Rapoport, Jackson's illness is believed to be a viral issue, but doctors are apparently confident that the quarterback isn't exhibiting symptoms of either COVID-19 or the flu. In any case, Jackson's ailment was serious enough for the Ravens to rule him out from being available Sunday, even though he made the trip to Chicago and attempted to keep himself hydrated over the past several days. Tyler Huntley is making his first NFL start Sunday in place of Jackson, who will set his sights on getting healthy in advance of the team's Week 12 showdown with Cleveland.
Nov 21, 2021
Inactive Sunday
Jackson (illness) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bears.
ANALYSIS
With Jackson unavailable Sunday due to a non-COVID related illness, Tyler Huntley is slated to draw the start at QB for the Ravens, while Trace McSorley is set to serve as his backup. Jackson will thus target a return to action in Week 12, when the Ravens face the Browns on Nov. 28.
Nov 21, 2021
Still viewed as game-time call
Jackson (illness) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against the Bears and is being viewed as a game-time decision leading up to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, Stacey Dales of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Adam Schefter of ESPN released a report late Saturday citing a source familiar with Jackson's situation that the quarterback was "50/50" for the Week 11 contest, and the 24-year-old's outlook doesn't seem to have changed much overnight. On a fortunate note, multiple reports are continuing to describe Jackson's illness as a non-COVID-19-related ailment, with Dales specifically noting that the signal-caller has "a sickness he can't shake." After missing practices Wednesday and Thursday, Jackson returned to practice Friday as a full participant, but the Ravens may want to see how he checks out during a pregame warmup early Sunday before deciding whether he'll play. More clarity on Jackson's status should come when Baltimore releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to kickoff, but if he's unable to go Sunday, Tyler Huntley would likely pick up his first career start.
Nov 20, 2021
50-50 chance to play
Jackson (illness) has a 50 percent chance of playing Sunday against the Bears, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was taken off the injury report Friday after missing time earlier in the week with a non-COVID illness, but he was added back onto the report as questionable Saturday. Schefter's report confirms that Jackson's availability is as up in the air as it could possibly be. Trace McSorley was elevated from the practice squad to give the Ravens extra cover under center in the event that Tyler Huntley has to start in Jackson's place. Baltimore plays in the early slot Sunday, so clarity should emerge regarding Jackson's status before fantasy lineups have to be finalized.
Nov 20, 2021
Re-added to injury report
Jackson was re-added to the injury report with an illness and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears.
ANALYSIS
This is obviously significant news considering Jackson missed two practices this week with a non COVID-19 illness. Given the Ravens only have one other active quarterback on the roster in Tyler Huntley, we might be able to glean some information regarding the severity of the illness around 4:00 pm ET when the team must announce the practice squad callups for the week. Trace McSorley figures to be elevated in the event the Ravens have any reservations regarding Jackson's status, although it's fair to mention the team simply could be taking the utmost precautions in the event they elevate the Penn State product. In any case, more information regarding Jackson's status should be available well before Sunday's 1:00 pm ET kickoff.
Nov 19, 2021
Good to go versus Bears
Jackson (illness) doesn't carry an injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Bears, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
After sitting out practice Wednesday and Thursday due to a non COVID-related illness that he described as a cold, per ESPN's Jamison Hensley, Jackson practiced fully Friday and indicated that he's "feeling great." As a result, he'll start this weekend against the 3-6 Bears, who have lost four straight contests and will be without star pass-rusher Khalil Mack (foot) and probably top wideout Allen Robinson (hamstring/doubtful) as well.
Nov 19, 2021
Back at practice Friday
Jackson (illness) is participating at Friday's practice, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old didn't participate at Wednesday's or Thursday's sessions due to a non-COVID-related illness, but he's returned to the field Friday. Barring a setback, Jackson should be under center for the Ravens against the Bears on Sunday.
Nov 18, 2021
Logs another missed practice
Jackson (illness) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
The report adds that the Ravens are hoping that the QB can bounce back from his non-COVID-19-related illness in time to practice Friday. Shaffer previously relayed that offensive coordinator Greg Roman suggested Thursday that Jackson was "feeling better," but following back-to-back missed sessions, what the signal-caller is able to do Friday should be telling with regard to his status for Sunday's game against the Bears.
Nov 17, 2021
Will miss Wednesday's practice
Coach John Harbaugh relayed that Jackson will miss practice Wednesday due to a non-COVID illness, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
With that in mind, the QB's status is worth monitoring, but Jackson will still have two more opportunities to practice in advance of Sunday's game against the Bears. In his absence from practice Wednesday, Tyler Huntley is in line to handle the Ravens' signal-caller reps.
Nov 12, 2021
Scuffles through ragged night
Jackson completed 26 of 43 passes for 238 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Ravens' 22-10 loss to the Dolphins on Thursday night. He also rushed nine times for 39 yards.
ANALYSIS
In what was a fairly sizable upset, Jackson came up small against an aggressive Dolphins defense that sacked him on four occasions and hit him seven times overall. The 24-year-old South Florida native also short-circuited the Ravens' last chance at a possible comeback when he was picked off in the end zone with 47 seconds remaining on a pass intended for Rashod Bateman. Miami's defense did an excellent job playing suffocating coverage throughout the night, limiting Jackson to a meager 5.5 yards per attempt. The yardage tall was Jackson's third lowest of the season as well, and his first opportunity to atone will come in a Week 11 road matchup against the Bears a week from Sunday.
Nov 7, 2021
Accrues 386 total yards in win
Jackson completed 27 of 41 passes for 266 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in the Ravens' 34-31 overtime victory against the Vikings on Sunday. He also rushed 21 times for 120 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's final tally underscores how integral he was to a wild victory that saw the Ravens come back from a 24-10 second-half deficit to eventually notch an overtime victory. Jackson's work on the ground included season highs in rush attempts and yardage, while his three scoring tosses qualified as his second-highest tally in that category on the campaign. The star signal-caller was effective in Baltimore's game-winning drive in overtime as well, kicking off the march with a 20-yard connection to Marquise Brown and notching another pair of completions to his speedy receiver as well. Jackson will have a quick opportunity to follow up Sunday's stellar effort, as the Ravens visit the Dolphins on Thursday night to kick off Week 10.
Oct 24, 2021
Contained by Bengals in loss
Jackson completed 15 of 31 passes for 257 yards and a touchdown while adding 88 yards on 12 rushing attempts in Sunday's 41-17 loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Despite racking up 63 rushing yards in the first half, Jackson didn't lead the offense into the end zone until Devonta Freeman's one-yard rushing touchdown 1:55 before halftime. Jackson added a 39-yard touchdown pass to Marquise Brown on the third play of the third quarter to take a 17-13 lead, but the Bengals responded with 28 unanswered points. Backup Tyler Huntley entered down the stretch as the Ravens waved the white flag, but Jackson will be back under center when the Ravens return to action in Week 9 against the Vikings following a bye week.
Oct 17, 2021
Modest passing performance in win
Jackson completed 19 of 27 passes for 167 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Sunday's 34-6 win over the Chargers. He added 51 yards on eight rushing attempts.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens raced out to a 17-0 lead but Jackson briefly let the Chargers back into the game by throwing an interception one play after Baltimore's defense intercepted Justin Herbert. Los Angeles got into the end zone two plays later to cut into Baltimore's lead before halftime, but Jackson bounced back in the third quarter with a nine-yard touchdown pass to Mark Andrews. With the defense and running game dominating, Jackson's pedestrian passing performance didn't keep the Ravens from blowing out a Chargers team that also came into the game with a 4-1 record. Up next for Jackson will be a Week 7 home date with the Bengals.
Oct 15, 2021
Cleared to play Sunday
Jackson (illness) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Chargers after practicing fully Friday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's Week 6 status came into focus after he missed Thursday's practice, but his full participation Friday paves the way for the QB to start against the 4-1 Chargers on Sunday. Though wideout Sammy Watkins (hamstring) won't be available this weekend, it's expected that promising first-rounder Rashod Bateman (groin) will be activated off IR in advance of the contest. For his part, Jackson will look to build off a big fantasy effort in Baltimore's Week 5 overtime win over the Colts, in which he completed 37 of 43 passes for 442 yards and four TDs, rushed 14 times for 62 yards and tossed a pair of successful two-point conversions.
Oct 15, 2021
Returning to practice Friday
Jackson (illness) is practicing Friday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was absent from Thursday's practice due to an unspecified illness, but it appears to have been a minor ailment since he's back on the field for Friday's session. It's unclear if the 24-year-old will be able to fully avoid an injury designation, but he appears on track to play Sunday against the Chargers.
Oct 14, 2021
DNP due to illness
Jackson missed Thursday's practice with an illness, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
As a result, Jackson's status will be worth monitoring closely as Sunday's game against the Chargers approaches. Those counting on the QB (who's coming off a huge fantasy effort in Week 5) in their upcoming lineups will no doubt feel a sense of relief if Jackson is back on the practice field Friday.
Oct 14, 2021
Not spotted at practice Thursday
Jackson (undisclosed) wasn't present during the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, so it will be interesting to see how he's officially listed by the Ravens following Thursday's practice. Until there's added clarity with regard to his absence, Jackson's status is worth monitoring as Sunday's game against the Chargers approaches.
Oct 7, 2021
Avoids Week 5 injury report
Jackson practiced fully Thursday and isn't listed on Baltimore's Week 5 injury report, suggesting the back issue he managed last week is no longer much of a concern, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports. "I'm 101 percent," Jackson said.
ANALYSIS
The back injury sidelined Jackson for two practices last week and resulted in him taking a questionable designation into Sunday, but he looked plenty healthy in Baltimore's 23-7 win over the previously unbeaten Broncos. Though he took more of a back seat than usual as a runner with seven carries for 28 yards, Jackson completed 22 of 37 attempts while clearing 300 passing yards for the second time in his career. With an extra day to rest up this week with Baltimore hosting Indianapolis on Monday night, Jackson appears to have moved past his bout with back soreness, which could result in him taking back a more prominent role in the run game than he handled in Denver.
Oct 3, 2021
Tops 300 yards in win
Jackson completed 22 of 37 passes for 316 yards and a touchdown while adding 28 rushing yards on seven carries in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
He showed off his arm strength on the TD, as Marquise Brown laid out in the end zone to haul in a 49-yard heave from Jackson in the second quarter that put the Ravens in the lead for good. The 316 yards were not only a season high for Jackson, it represented his first 300-yard performance in over two years (Week 1 of 2019 against Miami). Jackson will look for more success through the air, and not just on the ground, in Week 5 at home against the Colts.
Oct 3, 2021
Suits up Sunday
Jackson (back) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
ANALYSIS
Though Jackson was unable to practice Wednesday and Thursday, he returned for a full session Friday and as expected, is active for Sunday's contest against the 3-0 Broncos, who have allowed a league-low 8.7 points per game to date. Though Jackson has been hit an NFL-high 44 times, including 12 times in Week 3 versus the Lions, per ESPN.com, the QB, who leads Baltimore with 251 yards on the ground to date, heads into Week 4 action leading the NFL in yards per rush (7.2) and yards per completion (14.4).
Oct 3, 2021
Likely to play
Jackson (back) is currently listed as questionable for Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Broncos but is expected to play barring any setbacks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was unable to practice due to the injury both Wednesday and Thursday, but he returned for a full practice Friday. Given that, there is optimism that he will be able to suit up against a Broncos' defense that has taken advantage of relatively favorable matchups through three games. Meanwhile, Jackson has racked up 761 passing yards and rushed for 251 yards with a total of five touchdowns in three contests.
Oct 1, 2021
Listed as questionable after full practice
Jackson (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos after returning to a full practice Friday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson is one of nine players listed by the Ravens as questionable for the contest, but after logging a full practice session Friday -- and looking good in the process, per ESPN's Jamison Hensley -- the QB is on track to suit up this weekend, barring any setbacks in advance of Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff.
Oct 1, 2021
Practices fully
Coach John Harbaugh relayed that Jackson (back) was a full participant in Friday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Back-to-back absences Wednesday and Thursday put the focus on Jackson's Friday participation level. It's still possible that the Ravens elect to list the QB as questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos, but at this stage it looks like he'll be good to go in Week 4.
Oct 1, 2021
Practicing Friday
Jackson (back) is participating at Friday's practice, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson sack practice the past two days while managing back soreness, so it's a good sign to see him back on the field, even if he only ends up working as a limited participant. It's unclear whether the 24-year-old will end up with an injury designation for Sunday's matchup with the Broncos, though he at least appears to be trending in the right direction.
Sep 30, 2021
Logs another missed practice
Jackson (back) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson is dealing with what Zrebiec describes as back soreness, however a previous report suggested that the QB should be fine. That's a notion that would be solidified if Jackson returns to the field for the Ravens' final practice of the week Friday in advance of Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Sep 30, 2021
Back flares up
Offensive coordinator Greg Roman relayed Thursday that Jackson is dealing with a back flare up and should be fine, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
That said, Roman noted that the team is in "wait-and-see" mode in terms of the QB practicing Thursday. With that in mind, we'll circle back on Jackson's status once the Ravens re-take the field, but for now at least, his availability for Sunday's game against the Broncos does not appear to be in any danger.
Sep 29, 2021
Dealing with back issue
Jackson's absence from practice Wednesday was due to a back issue, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaffer notes that Jackson "took a couple good hits to the upper body" during this past Sunday's win over the Lions, but at this stage there's nothing to suggest that the QB's Week 4 availability is in any danger as a result. A return to the field Thursday, in any capacity, would support that notion.
Sep 29, 2021
Misses practice with soreness
Jackson was held out of Wednesday's practice due to general soreness, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
It sounds like Jackson came out of Sunday's dramatic win over the Lions with some bumps and bruises, but there hasn't been any suggestion that he's in danger of missing Week 4 at Denver. Had it not been for Marquise Brown's trio of drops, Jackson might've finished last week's game with 300-plus yards and multiple touchdowns. He's certainly been explosive this year, averaging 8.7 yards per pass attempt and a league-high 7.2 yards per carry.
Sep 26, 2021
Limited to one TD in win
Jackson (illness) completed 16 of 31 passes for 287 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Lions. He added 58 yards on seven rushing attempts.
ANALYSIS
Jackson struggled for most of the first half, though a trio of costly drops by Marquise Brown certainly didn't help. He finally connected with a wide open Devin Duvernay in the back of the end zone for a 19-yard touchdown 3:15 before halftime to take a 10-0 lead into the break. Baltimore's offense moved the ball well in the second half but had to settle for field goals, including Justin Tucker's game-winning 66-yarder as time expired, which Jackson set up with a 36-yard pass to Sammy Watkins to convert 4th-and-19. Jackson's rushing production keeps his floor high, so he should remain a reliable fantasy option in Week 4 despite a difficult road matchup in Denver.
Sep 26, 2021
Avoids inactive list
Jackson (illness) is active for Sunday's game in Detroit, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
There was never much doubt after a return to full practice participation Friday, though the Ravens did list Jackson as questionable on their final injury report. He gets one of his better matchups of the season, albeit with standout LT Ronnie Stanley (ankle) inactive for a second straight week. Jackson overcame Stanley's absence as well as a pair of interceptions in the Week 2 win over Kansas City, with his 16 carries for 107 yards and two TDs leading the Ravens to a narrow victory.
Sep 26, 2021
Expected to play Sunday
Jackson (illness) is expected to play Sunday against the Lions, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Though listed as questionable by the Ravens, the QB practiced fully Friday after sitting out Thursday's session. Official confirmation of Jackson's Week 3 status will arrive prior to the first wave of kickoffs Sunday, with Baltimore facing Detroit at 1:00 ET.
Sep 24, 2021
Returns to full practice
Jackson (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Detroit, despite returning to practice Friday as a full participant.
ANALYSIS
Jackson is dealing with a non-COVID illness, while a quartet of Baltimore defenders have been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The team also has some injury concern on offense -- LT Ronnie Stanley (ankle) is out and WR Marquise Brown (ankle) listed as questionable -- but Jackson at least seems on track to play, facing a young Lions defense that's struggled about as much as expected so far. While an absence would be surprising, fantasy managers should still check back Sunday morning before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
Sep 24, 2021
Returns to practice Friday
Jackson (illness) is participating at Friday's practice, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's level of participation remains unclear, though it's a good sign regardless after he sat out Thursday's practice due to a non-COVID-19-related illness. The 24-year-old is on track to play Sunday at Detroit, though his status will receive additional clarity when the official injury report is released later Friday.
Sep 23, 2021
Misses practice with illness
Jackson sat out practice Thursday due to an illness.
ANALYSIS
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Jackson is dealing with a non-COVID-19-related stomach bug and should be fine for Sunday's game against the Lions. Jackson's return to practice Friday in any capacity could allow him to head into the weekend minus any sort of injury designation.
Sep 23, 2021
Misses practice Thursday
Jackson -- who didn't practice Thursday -- is dealing with what Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic refers to as a "stomach bug."
ANALYSIS
Per Zrebiec, the QB should be fine for Sunday's game against the Lions. We'll look for added clarity with regard to Jackson's status once the Ravens post their Thursday practice/injury report.
Sep 23, 2021
Not spotted at practice
Jackson (undisclosed) wasn't spotted at Thursday's practice, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, but it's possible that the QB's Thursday absence is maintenance-related. With that in mind,Shaffer notes that Jackson emerged from Baltimore's Week 2 win over Kansas City with some hip soreness following a flip into the end zone. Thursday's injury report will reveal whether Jackson was rested or is given an injury designation by the team.
Sep 20, 2021
Mounts second half comeback
Jackson completed 18 of 26 pass attempts for 239 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions while rushing 16 times for 107 yards and two more scores in Sunday's 36-35 win over the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
It was a tale of two halves for Jackson, as he got off to an ominous start when a first-drive pass was picked off by Tyrann Mathieu for a touchdown. The dual-threat quarterback had just 75 yards passing and two interceptions going into the second half, but he promptly put the team on his shoulder pads and outdueled Patrick Mahomes, even tossing in an incredible jumping touchdown throw to Marquise Brown. The Ravens have had a myriad of injuries to start the season, but that may actually benefit Jackson's fantasy managers, as he will be asked to carry the load similar to Sunday's impressive victory. Up next is a favorable matchup against a green Detroit defense next Sunday.
Sep 14, 2021
Costly fumbles in late defeat
Jackson completed 19 of 30 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown, and rushed 12 times for 86 yards but lost two of three fumbles in Monday night's 33-27 overtime loss to the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Jackson had an uneven performance to begin the campaign. With a few unfamiliar skill-position players around him, his timing appeared off on a number of passes and handoffs, yet he still electrified at times with his signature improvisation ability. His 10-yard touchdown pass to Marquise Brown came after he evaded three pass-rushers in the pocket, then Jackson made a breathtaking 28-yard run to set up a go-ahead field goal late. However, he twice coughed the ball up while facing pressure, ultimately leading to two Raiders touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime. Following a disappointing defeat, Jackson and company will aim to iron out a few wrinkles prior to Week 2's primetime matchup against the Chiefs.
Aug 28, 2021
Leads FG drive
Jackson completed three of four passes for 29 yards in Saturday's preseason game against Washington.
ANALYSIS
Jackson played one drive, which ending with a J.K. Dobbins injury followed by a missed field goal by the backup kicker. Jackson emerged unscathed, completing one pass to Dobbins and two others to Mark Andrews. Jackson and Andrews may need to put the Baltimore offense on their shoulders Week 1 at Las Vegas, as the Ravens already had a slew of injuries at wide receiver before losing another playmaker (Dobbins) in Saturday's game.
Aug 24, 2021
Likely playin
Jackson is likely to play in Saturday's preseason game at Washington, as he's one of just two healthy quarterbacks on Baltimore's roster after the team released Kenji Bahar on Tuesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The other is Tyler Huntley, who hopes to usurp Trace McSorley for the No. 2 role behind Jackson. The Ravens will probably give the backup more snaps, but it makes sense to give Jackson a bit of run after he missed the first two games of the preseason. The Ravens offense has been hamstrung by injuries to wide receivers and offensive linemen all summer, but the latter situation is finally improving, if not the former. Assuming he does play, Jackson's top targets Saturday could be young players competing for depth roles like Devin Duverrnay, Tylan Wallace and Josh Oliver

Gives way to Huntley
Tyler Huntley drew the start at QB for the Ravens in Saturday's preseason game against the Panthers, while Jackson is in line to sit out his second straight contest, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It remains to be seen if Jackson will play at all in the team's preseason finale, but doing what needs to be done to keep their star QB healthy and fresh for Week 1 action is a sound approach, given the Ravens' current injury issues at wide receiver and along the offensive line.
Aug 19, 2021
Uncertain for Saturday
Coach John Harbaugh said Thursday that he won't comment on expectations for Jackson's playing time (or lack thereof) in Saturday's preseason game against Carolina, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens likely want their QB to play at least a drive or two this preseason, but it may not happen if the team still needs more time to sort out its rampant injury issues at wide receiver and along the offensive line. If Jackson does play Saturday, he could be missing 3-4 starting linemen and each of his top five wide receiver. The third week of the preseason might make more sense, with the Aug. 28 contest against Washington taking place 16 days before Baltimore's regular-season opener in Las Vegas (Sept. 13).
Aug 14, 2021
Not expected to start Saturday
Trace McSorley appears to be replacing Jackson as the starting quarterback for Saturday's preseason game against New Orleans, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson went through pregame warmups in uniform, but McSorley was under center when the first-team offense lined up. The Ravens' star quarterback returned from the reserve/COVID-19 list Aug. 6, and while he seems to be healthy, the team seemingly plans to keep Jackson on the sideline Saturday night. Offensive line injuries may be a factor, and the Ravens also are banged up at wide receiver.

Back with team
Jackson, who has resumed practicing with his teammates after spending time on the reserve/COVID-19 list for the second time in the last eight months, noted Monday that he's taking things "day by day right now," ESPN's Jamison Hensley reports.
ANALYSIS
At this time, the Ravens' star QB hasn't yet decided if he'll get vaccinated following his latest COVID issue, noting, "I just got off the COVID list. I got to talk to my team about this and see how they feel about it. Keep learning as much as I can about it. We'll go from there." In the meantime, the signal caller will look to get back up to speed after missing practice time and in that context it's unclear when he'll make his first preseason appearance. Baltimore's first exhibition game is Saturday against the Saints.

Returns to practice
Jackson participated in Saturday's practice one day after being cleared from the reserve/COVID-19 list, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
What's more, Jackson has received glowing remarks in his first full day of training camp since it began. The star quarterback is one of the top fantasy options at his position in large part due to his mobility and Jackson should be poised for another year close to 1,000 rushing yards so long as he stays healthy.
Aug 6, 2021
Cleared from COVID-19 list
Jackson has been activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list and should return to practice Saturday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Ravens training camp isn't off to the best start, with the starting quarterback missing the first week and a half while his favorite wide receiver from last season (Marquise Brown) has been out with a hamstring injury. Jackson's return to practice will be welcome news in Baltimore, where Trace McSorley and Tyler Huntley have been taking first-team QB reps. In addition to Brown's hamstring injury, the O-line is a bit banged up, but Jackson will have some healthy pass catchers in TE Mark Andrews, RB J.K. Dobbins and WRs Sammy Watkins and Rashod Bateman.
Aug 2, 2021
Won't return before Friday
Jackson, who is on the reserve/COVID-19 list, won't return to practice until Friday or Saturday at the earliest, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Until Jackson, who Zrebiec indicates recently tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time in nine months, is cleared to return to action, Trace McSorley and Tyler Huntley are in line handle the the majority of the Ravens' QB reps at practice.
Jul 28, 2021
Lands on COVID list
The Ravens placed Jackson (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson sat out Week 12 of last season after testing positive for the virus, and it appears he may have done so again at the start of this year's training camp. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jackson didn't practice Wednesday as the NFL was in the process of investigating a COVID-related case. It's likely related to Gus Edwards turning back a positive test, so Jackson's stay on the reserve list will indicate whether he did as well. While Jackson stays away from the Ravens, Trace McSorley and Tyler Huntley will handle QB reps.
Jul 28, 2021
Absent from practice
Jackson is absent from Wednesday's practice due to a "COVID-related case the league is still trying to process," Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson tested positive for COVID-19 last November and missed a game against the Steelers, but he returned to action the following week and led Baltimore to five straight wins and a playoff berth. He has apparently tested positive for the virus again, but there's been no official move to place him on the reserve/COVID-19 list. The Ravens are left with Trace McSorley and Tyler Huntley as their quarterbacks for the first practice of training camp.

Gets more help at WR
Offensive coordinator Greg Roman says the Ravens have built a more balanced attack around Jackson, after adding WRs Rashod Bateman and Tylan Wallace in the 2021 NFL Draft, Clifton Brown of the team's official website reports.
ANALYSIS
When an NFL offensive coordinator discusses 'balance', he's usually referring to establishing a run game to complement the pass. In this case, it's the other way around, with Jackson (among others) expressing frustration at the increasingly predictable nature of Baltimore's offense. The drafting of Bateman (first round) and Wallace (fourth) was preceded by the signing of Sammy Watkins, but the Ravens did also take a big hit this offseason when they traded star OT Orlando Brown to the AFC rival Chiefs.
Apr 30, 2021
Gets fifth-year option
The Ravens are picking up the fifth-year option on Jackson's rookie contract, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson is now scheduled for a $23.016 million base salary in 2022, though it's guaranteed for injury only. The option gives Baltimore more leverage in negotiations on a long-term contract, which seems to be the ultimate goal for both parties. Offseason additions Rashod Bateman and Sammy Watkins give Jackson the best receiving corps he's ever had, while the Ravens' offensive line looks shaky for the first time in his young career.
Apr 27, 2021
In line for fifth-year option
Coach John Harbaugh said the Ravens are expected to pick up the fifth-year option on Jackson's rookie contract, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
With an MVP award and two 1,000-yard rushing seasons under his belt through three years with Baltimore, Jackson is poised to get a payday sooner than later. If the Ravens make the aforementioned move by May 3, his contract will be $23.1 million in 2022, but the team also may want to lock him up long-term in the near future, as has been intimated this offseason. Jackson has a new weapon in the passing game via free agency in Sammy Watkins, and the Ravens may also use draft capital to improve the receiving corps, which would give him a good chance to surpass 3,000 yards through the air for the second time in his career this fall.
Mar 30, 2021
Gets new wideout
Jackson has a new option in the passing game with Baltimore's recent addition of Sammy Watkins, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Baltimore missed out on the top-of-market receivers, instead bringing in Watkins after two weeks of free agency. The signing isn't likely to revolutionize the Ravens offense, but Watkins should at least pose more of a downfield threat than Willie Snead, who recently left Baltimore to sign with Las Vegas. While Watkins now joins Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews as the Ravens' main receiving threats, Jackson could get another weapon from the NFL Draft at the end of April.
Jan 20, 2021
Should get extension eventually
Coach John Harbaugh said he is "totally certain" the Ravens will sign Jackson (concussion) to an extension, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
While his 2020 campaign wasn't nearly as impressive as his MVP effort in 2019, the 24-year-old QB led Baltimore to the playoffs for a third straight year, improving his record to 30-9-0 as a starter in the regular season. Jackson's status as a first-round pick allows the Ravens to extend his rookie contract through 2022 with a fifth-year option, which means the extension Harbaugh is promising may not actually get done until next year. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that the team will at least start that conversation this offseason.
Jan 18, 2021
Offseason extension talks coming
The Ravens and Jackson (concussion) are expected to begin discussions regarding a contract extension this offseason, Ryan Mink & Joe Schiller of the team's official site report.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens are first expected to lock up Jackson's services through the 2022 season by picking up his fifth-year option, at which point discussions will turn toward a more long-term extension. The 2018 first-round pick has delivered a playoff berth in each of his three seasons as under center in Baltimore, in addition to earning the NFL's MVP award in 2019. There's plenty of recent precedent for young franchise players signing long-term deals, with Patrick Mahomes (10-year, $503 million) and Deshaun Watson (four-year, $156 million) both having inked their lucrative deals as they were headed into their fourth season, just as Jackson is now.
Jan 16, 2021
Out with concussion
Jackson suffered a concussion and won't return to Saturday's divisional-round game at Buffalo.
ANALYSIS
The 2018 first-round pick suffered the concussion on the last play of the third quarter when his head hit the ground hard while being tackled after a desperation throwaway. Jackson completed 14 of 24 passes for 162 yards with one interception and rushed nine times for 34 yards before leaving the contest. Replacement quarterback Tyler Huntley will need to overcome a 17-3 deficit with less than six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter if the Ravens are to advance to the AFC Championship Game.
Jan 16, 2021
Exits with possible concussion
Jackson left Saturday's divisional-round game against the Bills to be evaluated for a concussion.
ANALYSIS
The 24-year-old had to chase down an erratic snap on the final play of the third quarter, and his head hit the ground hard while being tackled on a desperation throwaway. It's a disaster scenario for the Ravens, which comes only a couple plays after Taron Johnson picked off Jackson in the end zone and returned it 101 yards for a touchdown. Tyler Huntley will try to engineer a comeback for Baltimore if Jackson is unable to retake the field.
Jan 10, 2021
Leads Ravens to first playoff win
Jackson completed 17 of 24 passes for 179 yards and an interception, but rushed 16 times for 136 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-13 wild-card win over the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Jackson earned the first playoff victory of his career with a stellar performance on the ground. The signal-caller came up big on a third-and-nine late in the second quarter, turning the jets on to score from 48 yards. That play helped compensate for a badly underthrown interception earlier. With the weight of securing a postseason win now off his shoulders, Jackson will turn his attention to the AFC divisional round, where his opponent is yet to be determined.
Jan 3, 2021
Efficient to close regular season
Jackson completed 10 of 18 pass attempts for 113 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the Ravens' Week 17 win over the Bengals. He added 11 rushes for 97 yards.
ANALYSIS
Jackson torched the Bengals with both his arm and legs, completing touchdowns of 43, 18 and nine yards. He also ripped off four runs of 10 yards or more, surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the second consecutive season. Though Jackson wasn't able to replicate his exceptionally efficient 2019 campaign from a touchdown perspective, he still managed to top 35 total touchdowns. He'll look to earn a playoff victory next, something he failed to do in the 2019 season.
Dec 27, 2020
Pair of TDs in big win
Jackson completed 17 of 26 passes for 183 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Ravens' 27-13 win over the Giants on Sunday. He also rushed 13 times for 80 yards and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Save for his lost fumble, Jackson played an integral role in the two-score victory, connecting with Marquise Brown and Dez Bryant for his scoring tosses and checking in with the second-most rushing yards on the afternoon for the Ravens. Jackson has now thrown multiple touchdowns in three of the past four games, and he's now gained at least 80 yards on the ground on three occasions during that sample as well. Jackson will look to put together a strong finish to his season and secure a playoff berth for Baltimore in a Week 17 road battle against the Bengals.
Dec 20, 2020
Tallies four total touchdowns
Jackson completed 17 of 22 pass attempts for 243 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Week 15 against the Jaguars. He added 35 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.
ANALYSIS
Jackson got off to a poor start by throwing an interception on the Ravens' first offensive possession. However, he had little trouble producing from there, connecting for passing scores four, 11 and three yards to three different receivers. For the third straight week, Jackson also found the end zone with his legs. While Jackson has failed to show the same upside of 2019 for much of the 2020 season, he now has at least three total touchdowns in each of his last three contests. He'll draw a Week 16 matchup against the Giants.
Dec 15, 2020
Leads dramatic comeback victory
Jackson completed 11 of 17 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 47-42 win over the Browns. He also rushed nine times for 124 yards and two scores.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was sensational in a thrilling divisional encounter that saw him play hero. After rushing into the end zone twice during the first half and leading Baltimore to a 14-point advantage early in the third quarter, Jackson was suddenly forced to the locker room while dealing with cramps. He remained unavailable until backup Trace McSorley went down prior to a fourth-and-five with under two minutes remaining and the Ravens down by a score. In his first play back on the field, Jackson scrambled before tossing a dramatic 44-yard touchdown to Marquise Brown, then answered Cleveland's ensuing touchdown drive by setting up the game's winning field goal. Overall, it was a remarkable display by the signal-caller, who rushed for a season high while posting his best quarterback rating since Week 1. After Monday's triumphant performance, Jackson is now gifted with a Week 15 matchup against the Jaguars, whose defense has surrendered the most yards league-wide this season.
Dec 14, 2020
Back in for crunch time
Jackson (cramps) returned to Monday's contest against the Browns, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was in the locker room for much of the fourth quarter, but he managed to come back into the game with two minutes to play, immediately after Trace McSorley went down with a knee injury.
Dec 14, 2020
Questionable with cramps
Jackson is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Browns due to cramps.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was spotted heading to the locker room early in the fourth quarter, and the team reported shortly after that he's dealing with cramps. With Robert Griffin on injured reserve, Trace McSorley would take over under center if Jackson is unable to continue.
Dec 8, 2020
Scores three times in return
Jackson completed 12 of 17 pass attempts for 107 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, adding 94 yards and a rushing TD over 13 carries during Tuesday's 34-17 win against Dallas.
ANALYSIS
After being unable to participate in last Wednesday's loss to the Steelers because of his presence on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the 2019 MVP returned to action with his first three-TD performance since facing Washington in Week 4. Jackson threw an interception off the hands of Marquise Brown to close Baltimore's opening offensive possession of the night, but he responded by capping the Ravens' subsequent seven-play drive with a 37-yard TD run through the gut of Dallas' defense. The 23-year-old would add second and third-quarter scoring strikes through the air, pushing his 2020 TD:INT to 17:7. Jackson doesn't have a single outing over 275 yards for the Ravens' 31st-ranked pass offense, but he's again on a prolific pace with 669 rushing yards and four rushing TDs heading into a Week 14 road trip to Cleveland.
Dec 8, 2020
Suiting up Tuesday
Jackson is active for Tuesday's game against the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Following a week-and-a-half stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Jackson will be back in action for the first time since Nov. 22 against the Titans. With the 12th-ranked Dallas pass defense on the other side and without two of their top receiving weapons -- Mark Andrews and Willie Snead remain on the COVID list -- the Ravens may ride an intact backfield and Jackson's legs for most of this Week 13 contest.
Dec 7, 2020
Ready for Tuesday night
The Ravens activated Jackson (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson will now be eligible to rejoin teammates at Baltimore's facilities, and the transactions puts him on track to start Tuesday's game against the Cowboys. The Ravens may have some concerns that Jackson will be rusty after having been away from the team for a week and a half, but if he participates in Monday's walk-through practice it'll at least give him the benefit of some reps ahead of a favorable matchup against Dallas. On the other hand, two of Jackson's favorite targets remain on the COVID list, in the form of Mark Andrews (illness) and Willie Snead (illness).
Dec 6, 2020
Looks set to start Week 13
The Ravens are expected to activate Jackson (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list and have him start Tuesday against the Cowboys, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson is first eligible to return from the list Sunday, so assuming he's negative for COVID-19 in his latest round of testing, the Ravens should add him back to the 53-man roster later in the day. Though Jackson won't have the benefit of any practice time ahead of Tuesday's contest, the Ravens presumably view the reigning MVP as a better solution under center than second-year quarterback Trace McSorley, who has only two games of NFL experience under his belt. While the matchup versus Dallas is a favorable one, Jackson may have to make do without two of his top targets in tight end Mark Andrews and wideout WIllie Snead, both of whom remain on the reserve/COVID-19 list as of Sunday.
Dec 4, 2020
May be activated Sunday
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Jackson (illness) is eligible to be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The timing is key for Jackson, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Nov. 26. Sunday will mark 11 days since then, and he'll have two more days to ready himself for Tuesday's game against the Cowboys. On Thursday, coach John Harbaugh noted any decision to activate Jackson is dependent on the medical staff and not his office, so the quarterback still needs to pass the necessary protocols in order to return Week 13. The Ravens placed backup QB Robert Griffin (thigh) on injured reserve Friday, leaving Trace McSorley as the only signal-caller on the active roster. If Jackson doesn't pass the necessary hurdles, McSorley would be in line for his first career start.
Dec 3, 2020
Week 13 status up in air
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh admitted that he was unsure if Jackson (illness) would be cleared to return from the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of the team's next game Tuesday against the Cowboys, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson is believed to be recovering well since he was revealed to have tested positive for the coronavirus Nov. 26, but Harbaugh reiterated that a timeline for the quarterback's return to the roster will be a medical decision and not a coaching one. Assuming Jackson began quarantining immediately after his positive test, he would be eligible to return to the team in 10 days if his subsequent tests return negative. In that case, Jackson could rejoin the active roster Dec. 7, one day before the Ravens' matchup with Dallas. Should Jackson be forced to miss a second straight game, the Ravens would have to decide on a starting quarterback between Robert Griffin (hamstring) and Trace McSorley, both of whom saw action in Wednesday's 19-14 loss to the Steelers.
Nov 27, 2020
Placed on Reserve/COVID-19 list
Jackson (illness) has been officially placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
ANALYSIS
Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Jackson's positive COVID-19 test came up during Thursday's round of testing. With that timing in mind, the QB won't play in Tuesday's rescheduled game against the Steelers, but it's plausible that Jackson could be cleared in time for Week 13 action, with Baltimore now slated to face Dallas on Dec. 7. Robert Griffin is in line to draw the start at QB in place of Jackson this coming Tuesday.
Nov 27, 2020
Game moved to Tuesday
The Ravens are now scheduled to play the Steelers on Tuesday night, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
This will be the second time that the contest has been postponed following the placement of multiple Baltimore players on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Per ESPN.com, Jackson is also among those in the Ravens organization who have tested positive for COVID in the past week. He's now reportedly quarantining for 10 days and it's expected that he'll be officially added to the reserve/COVID-19 list later Friday. In his looming absence, Robert Griffin is slated to start at QB for the Ravens on Tuesday, assuming the game takes place.
Nov 26, 2020
Team to work virtually Thursday
Jackson and his teammates will conduct their team activities virtually Thursday, ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per the report, the Ravens had additional positive tests for COVID-19 on Wednesday. The team was originally scheduled to play the Steelers on Thursday, but following the placement of several Baltimore players on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the game was moved to Sunday at 1:15 p.m ET. According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the NFL "continues to closely monitor the situation" in order to decide whether the contest will proceed as currently scheduled.
Nov 25, 2020
Game moved to Sunday
Thursday's scheduled game between Jackson and the Ravens and the Steelers has been postponed until Sunday afternoon, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The decision to postpone the contest -- which had been scheduled for 8:20 ET p.m Thursday night -- arrives following the placement of several Baltimore players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
Nov 22, 2020
Limited to one touchdown
Jackson completed 17 of 29 passes for 186 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 11 against Tennessee. He added 13 rushes for 51 yards on the ground.
ANALYSIS
The Ravens scored on three of their first four possessions of the game, though two stalled inside the 10-yard line and another was capped by J.K. Dobbins. That limited Jackson to one total touchdown, which came on a 31-yard strike to Mark Andrews. Even so, Jackson maintained his production on the ground, topping 50 rushing yards for the eighth time in 10 games this season. Jackson will draw a tough matchup against the Steelers in Week 12, a defense that turned him over four times in a Week 8 showdown.
Nov 16, 2020
Over 300 combined yards in loss
Jackson completed 24 of 34 pass attempts for 249 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while adding 55 rushing yards on 11 carries in Sunday's 23-17 loss to New England.
ANALYSIS
Jackson fell short in the battle of former Heisman and NFL MVP award winners, turning the ball over on downs on Baltimore's final drive. The 249 passing yards were the second highest total for the 23-year-old this season, and he was able to accomplish the feat in wet and windy playing conditions at Foxborough. Jackson now has 16 passing touchdowns and three rushing scores through nine games, putting him on pace to finish well below the 36 and seven respectively he posted in a dominant MVP campaign last year. The Louisville product criticized his coaching staff for predictable playcalling after throwing for just 170 yards and no touchdowns against the Colts last week, so perhaps this immediate improvement in the passing game can be attributed to an adjustment made by offensive coordinator Greg Roman. Those with shares in Jackson are hoping this success will carry through the rest of the season, starting with a tough matchup against the Titans on Sunday.
Nov 8, 2020
Scores third rushing TD
Jackson completed 19 of 23 passes for 170 yards and carried the ball 13 times for 58 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Colts.
ANALYSIS
It was an efficient, if quiet, performance through the air for Jackson, but he led the Ravens in rushing on the afternoon as the Ravens' defense controlled the game. It's the first time all season the QB hasn't tossed a TD pass, but he's now failed to top 208 passing yards in seven straight starts, putting a ceiling on his fantasy value despite his contributions on the ground. Jackson could struggle to post better numbers in Week 10 facing a Patriots defense that's been stingy against the pass.
Nov 1, 2020
Turnover-ridden performance in loss
Jackson went 13-for-28 passing with 208 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions during Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Steelers. He also ran for 65 yards on 16 carries, fumbling three times while turning over possession twice.
ANALYSIS
Pittsburgh's defense disrupted the pocket throughout Sunday's AFC North showdown, collecting nine QB hits and four sacks on the 2019 NFL MVP. Jackson's outing was turbulent from the start, as he threw a 33-yard pick-six to Steelers linebacker Robert Spillane within the first minute of regulation. After posting a 5:0 TD:INT the first three weeks of the season, Jackson has regressed to a 7:5 ratio over his past four outings, throwing for an underwhelming 172.8 passing yards per game since Sept. 28. His rushing floor remains elite as usual, as Jackson has averaged 58.7 yards per game on the ground to follow up his record-breaking campaign from a year ago.
Oct 18, 2020
Dominates as runner vs. Eagles
Jackson completed 16 of 27 pass attempts for 186 yards and a touchdown while adding 108 yards and another score on nine carries during Sunday's 30-28 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Jackson averaged a pedestrian 6.9 yards per attempt and was held under 200 passing yards for the fourth straight game, with his only score through the air coming on a seven-yard connection with Nick Boyle. He was excellent as a runner, however, as he topped the 100-yard mark for the first time this season and scored an electrifying 37-yard rushing touchdown. Jackson hasn't quite been as dynamic this season as he was a year ago, but he still owns an excellent 10:2 TD:INT and has his team sitting at 5-1. He'll use the upcoming bye week to recuperate before taking on the Steelers in Week 8.
Oct 13, 2020
Promoted from practice squad
Jackson was promoted to the Jets' active roster from the practice squad Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The 22-year-old was elevated from the practice squad for the past two games as an extra player and totaled eight tackles, and he made enough of an impression to earn a longer-term look on the roster. Jackson received the start and played every defensive snap Week 5, so he could play a significant role if Blessuan Austin (calf) remains unavailable.
Oct 12, 2020
No limitations expected
Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that he expects Jackson to practice in full this week, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson, who missed two practices last week due to an illness and knee injury, was initially listed as questionable for Sunday's 27-3 win over the Bengals. He didn't look to be dealing with any restrictions on the field, though, as he completed 19 of 37 passes for 180 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. His two carries were a career-low, but the Ravens also weren't pressured to lean on Jackson's scrambling abilities at any point during Sunday's blowout victory. Barring any setbacks, Jackson looks like he'll be a full-go at Philadelphia in Week 6.
Oct 11, 2020
Pair of TD passes in trouncing
Jackson went 19-for-37 passing with 180 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, adding three rushing yards on two carries during Sunday's 27-3 win against the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Though Jackson extends his regular-season record to an incredible career mark of 23-4, his three rushing yards against Cincinnati are the fewest in any of his NFL starts. The 2019 MVP had been efficient in throwing to a 68.4 completion rate with seven TDs and one INT coming into Week 5, but his passing yardage totals have been underwhelming, as he is now averaging fewer than 190 yards per game following Sunday's outing against Cincinnati. A Week 6 matchup against Philadelphia provides a bounce-back opportunity for Jackson, as the Eagles surrendered 239 passing yards, 136 rushing yards and 38 points in a loss to the Steelers on Sunday.
Oct 11, 2020
Suits up, as expected
Jackson (knee/illness) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
This was expected after coach John Harbaugh declared Friday that Jackson was "good to go" for Week 5 action, but still worth confirming after the QB was one of 12 players officially listed as questionable by the team heading into the weekend. Baltimore's franchise signal-caller will thus take aim at a beatable Bengals defense that has allowed an average of 243.0 passing yards and 158.5 rushing yards per game through the first four weeks of the season.
Oct 11, 2020
Still on track to play Sunday
Jackson (knee/illness) is expected to play Sunday against the Bengals, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old is officially considered questionable, though he was able to practice as a full participant Friday and coach John Harbaugh said his quarterback was "good to go." WR Marquise Brown (knee) and TE Mark Andrews (thigh) are also expected to suit up, so Jackson should have his usual complement of weapons for Week 5.

Back at practice Friday
Jackson (knee/illness) was participating at Friday's practice with no limitations, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old sat out practice the past two days while battling an illness and a minor knee issue, but it appears his availability for Week 5 won't be impacted, as expected. Jackson wasn't seen with a knee brace, which confirms the minor nature of the injury. It's unclear if he'll be able to completely avoid an injury designation, but there seems to be little doubt about his status for Sunday's matchup with the Bengals.

Remains on track for Sunday
Jackson (knee/illness) is expected to suit up against the Bengals on Sunday despite having missed Thursday's practice due to a stomach ache, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Neither Jackson's current ailment or the knee injury that caused him to miss Wednesday's practice are expected to be enough to seriously endanger his readiness for Sunday's game against the Bengals, though it is notable that he's now missed back-to-back practices for the first time in his young career. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network notes that the Ravens consider both issues to be minor, so if Jackson is at least able to upgrade to 'limited' participation Friday it'll bode well for his Week 5 availability.

Expected to play Sunday
Jackson, who missed practice Thursday, is dealing with both a knee issue and an illness, per the Ravens' injury report, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's back-to-back absences from practice now have added context, with Tom Pelissero noting during an appearance on NFL Network that both of the QB's issues are considered minor and that his status for Sunday's game against the Bengals shouldn't be impacted.

Misses another practice
Jackson (knee) didn't practice Thursday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hensley points out that this is the first time that the QB has missed back-to-back regular season practices during his three-year NFL career. Initial reports indicated that Jackson's knee issue isn't considered serious, but obviously what he's able to do at practice Friday will be telling with regard to his status for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Minor knee issue
Jackson sat out practice Wednesday with a knee issue that isn't considered serious, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The report notes that Jackson was held out of practice for "precautionary reasons," which led to Robert Griffin handling first-team QB reps. We'll revisit Jackson's status Thursday, but so far there's no reason to think that his availability for Sunday's game against the Bengals is in any danger.

Not practicing Wednesday
Jackson is not participating in Wednesday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The official reason for Jackson's absence will be revealed when Baltimore's first injury report of the week is officially released Wednesday afternoon. At this time it remains uncertain whether the star quarterback is dealing with any sort of injury, or if he's sitting out Wednesday's session for rest or personal purposes.

Bounces back for big performance
Jackson completed 14 of 21 pass attempts for 193 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 4 against Washington. He also added 53 yards and another touchdown on the ground.
ANALYSIS
Jackson delivered a number of explosive plays, highlighted by a 50-yard rushing touchdown early in the second quarter to put the Ravens up 14-0. He also delivered a pair of precise throws in the end zone to Mark Andrews, connecting for scores of 25 and 22 yards. The only thing holding Jackson back from an even bigger performance was game script, as he attempted a season low 21 passes and was rested during the Ravens' final two possessions of the game. Jackson will have another favorable matchup in Week 5 against Cincinnati.

Disappoints in defeat
Jackson completed 15 of 28 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 34-20 loss to the Chiefs. He also rushed nine times for 83 yards, but lost one of his two fumbles.
ANALYSIS
Jackson and the Ravens' high-flying offense was grounded in uncharacteristic fashion in Monday's much-anticipated tussle. Whereas opposing quarterback Patrick Mahomes totaled over 400 yards and five touchdowns, Jackson failed to even top 100 passing yards. Along with that career low, Jackson also needed until the fourth quarter to score Baltimore's first offensive touchdown, a five-yard pass to tight end Nick Boyle. If there was any silver lining, Jackson at least had a big game running the ball, setting a new season high while topping 75 rushing yards for the 13th time of his career. Nonetheless, after falling flat in Monday's matchup, Jackson will undoubtedly be eager to return to his MVP best in Week 4 versus Washington.

Coasts to easy win
Jackson completed 18 of 24 passes for 204 yards and a touchdown and ran for 54 yards on 16 carries in Sunday's 33-16 win over the Texans.
ANALYSIS
After a first quarter that saw only one field goal between the two teams, the Ravens' running game and defense took control, leaving Jackson with little need to air it out. The kind of game script could become common for Baltimore this season, limiting the production of the team's superstar QB, but that shouldn't an issue in Week 3 as Jackson and the Ravens go toe to toe with Patrick Mahomes and the defending Super Bowl champions from Kansas City.

Picks apart Cleveland
Jackson completed 20 of 25 pass attempts for 275 yards and three touchdowns, while also running for 45 yards on seven rush attempts during Sunday's 38-6 win against the Browns.
ANALYSIS
The 2019 MVP was pulled late in the fourth quarter for Robert Griffin, as he had already done his job in leading Baltimore to a 32-point lead, handing the Browns an NFL record 16th-consecutive winless Week 1 in the process. Jackson is now 14-2 in his last 16 regular-season starts, and excluding a 28-12 loss to Tennessee in the AFC divisional round, he has three-plus passing touchdowns in four straight contests dating back to Week 14 of last season. Next up is a showdown against the Texans, and a defense that was tied for the fourth-most passing touchdowns allowed to quarterbacks during 2019.

Returns to practice
Jackson (groin) returned to practice Monday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Jackson is rejoining his teammates after missing back-to-back practices over the weekend. Coach John Harbaugh said the quarterback was dealing with a soft tissue injury, while ESPN reporter Adam Schefter was a bit more specific in labeling it as a groin ailment. The Ravens may take a cautious approach with Jackson this week, hoping to avoid any setbacks before their Sept. 13 season opener against the Browns.

Expected to practice Monday
Jackson (groin) is expected to return to practice Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Jackson has missed back-to-back practice due to what coach John Harbaugh described as a soft-tissue injury, and which Schefter has now disclosed to be a groin issue. If the reigning MVP is indeed able to resume practicing with teammates Monday, it will be an indication that his current injury is indeed minor. Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network Jackson's two-day absence has been "precautionary."

Soft tissue injury
Coach John Harbaugh relayed Sunday that Jackson is dealing with a "soft-tissue" injury, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, the QB has missed the Ravens' last two practices. Harbaugh declined to offer specifics on Jackson's issue, so consider the ascending signal-caller day-to-day until added context regarding his injury is available.

Just day off for rest
Jackson's Saturday absence at practice was merely rest related according to assistant head coach and WR coach David Culley, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Fantasy players can breathe a sigh of relief as it was initially unclear why Jackson was held out of practice Saturday. Despite a proclamation to limit his running in 2020, Jackson figures to still be one of the top fantasy scoring quarterbacks again, especially if the likes of Marquise Brown, Miles Boykin and Devin Duvernay develop into major pass-catching threats.

Does not practice Saturday
Jackson did not practice Saturday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
There's no official word as to why Jackson will miss Saturday's practice with the team choosing to simply list the designation as "undisclosed". More clarification regarding the absence will surely come in the ensuing days.

Envisions less running
Jackson is aiming to run less and rely more on his arm moving forward, he said during a video conference with the Ravens on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson's video call covered plenty of ground, including his focus on the mental aspects of the game during the offseason considering the physical limitations in place due to COVID-19. The reigning MVP also alluded to a style change in the future in which he leans more on his weapons in the passing game and lets his running backs take the brunt of the rushing workload. "We're going to have even more receivers...We're going to be pretty good. I don't think I'll be running a lot," Jackson said. Jackson's athleticism makes him a nightmare to defend, but his career longevity will be extended if running is less of a staple in his game. He had 176 rushing attempts in 2019, which was nearly 70 more than the next highest number of rushes by a quarterback.

Named 2019 MVP
Jackson was named the 2019 NFL Most Valuable Player on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Jackson was the runaway choice for league MVP, as he put together a fabulous sophomore season to lead the Ravens to a league-best 14-2 record. While things didn't go his way in the postseason, the electrifying athlete proved to be elite as both a passer and a runner, posting a 36:6 TD:INT through the air while setting a new record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,206 and adding seven touchdowns on the ground.

Massive yardage total in loss
Jackson completed 31 of 59 passes for 365 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in the Ravens' 28-12 divisional-round loss to the Titans on Saturday. He also rushed 20 times for 143 yards and lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
From a fantasy perspective, Jackson could hardly have done more, as he complemented his typically stellar rushing numbers with equally impressive passing yardage. Jackson's tally through the air was actually a career best, but he ended up throwing a career-high 59 passes because the Ravens were unexpectedly behind for the entirety of the contest, often by more than one possession. The second-year quarterback's one fumble also led to a Tennessee touchdown, as he coughed up the ball at his own 19-yard line while being sacked by Jurrell Casey and then saw Derrick Henry throw a touchdown pass to Corey Davis on a trick play five plays later. The profoundly disappointing and abrupt ending aside, Jackson enjoyed a stellar season that is likely to culminate in the league MVP award, as he finished with 4,333 total yards (3,127 passing, NFL-record 1,206 rushing) and a 36:6 TD:INT across 15 games. Jackson will naturally be the focal point of the team's offense for many years to come, beginning with a 2020 campaign in wh
