Getting green light
Wattenberg (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
After logging back-to-back full practices to end Week 10 prep, Wattenberg was activated off injured reserve Saturday and will be active for the first time since suffering a knee injury in Week 5. Wattenberg was Denver's starting center before the injury, but Alex Forsyth has taken over those responsibilities in recent weeks.

Activated from injured reserve
Denver activated Wattenberg (ankle) from injured reserve Saturday, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Wattenberg was placed on injured reserve Oct. 11 after suffering a knee injury in Week 6 against the Chargers. He has spent the four-game minimum on IR, and he could suit up Sunday against the Chiefs after logging consecutive full practices to end the week.

Practice window opens
Wattenberg (ankle) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
The third-year offensive lineman from Washington has dealt with this ankle injury since the middle of training camp, but Wednesday's designation to return suggests he could nearing a full recovery. Wattenberg now has 21 days to be activated to the Broncos' active roster before reverting to IR.

Lands on IR
Wattenberg (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured List on Saturday, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.
ANALYSIS
Wattenberg has dealt with an ankle injury since the middle of training camp, and the nagging issue will now sideline him for at least Denver's next four games. He worked as the team's primary center through the first five games, and Alex Forsyth is now the best bet to take over Watteberg's vacated role.

Won't play Sunday
Wattenberg (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
The third-year offensive lineman out of Washington was unable to practice all week due to an ankle injury, so it's no surprise he won't suit up for Sunday's divisional matchup. Expect Alex Forsyth to serve as Denver's top center in Wattenberg's stead.

Cleared for Week 2
Wattenberg (ankle) is absent from the injury report ahead of Sunday's game versus the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
After playing every snap in Week 1, Wattenberg kicked the week off as a non-participant at practice due to an ankle issue. He saw his participation increase each day as the week went on, so it looks like Denver was just erring on the side of caution with its starting center. Barring any setbacks, look for him to take on his usual role versus Pittsburgh.

Listed as DNP
Wattenberg (ankle) did not participate in Wednesday's practice session, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Wattenberg played all 69 offensive snaps for the Broncos during Sunday's 26-20 loss to the Seahawks, but the 2022 fifth-round pick appears to have tweaked his ankle during the contest. Wattenberg will have a chance to participate in practice Thursday and Friday and prepare for Week 2 against Pittsburgh. Sunday was Wattenberg's first start since Week 13 of the 2022 season.

Dealing with ankle
Coach Nathaniel Hackett said Tuesday that Wattenberg (ankle) is day-to-day with an ankle injury, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
It doesn't sound like anything too serious for Wattenberg, who is still a likely candidate to serve as the primary backup to starting center Lloyd Cushenberry in 2022. Though with Cushenberry also apparently resting Tuesday, it's possible one of Quinn Meinerz, Graham Glasgow or Dalton Risner will be snapping the ball at practice for now.

Denver adds in fifth round
The Broncos selected Wattenberg in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 171st overall.
ANALYSIS
Wattenberg (6-foot-4, 299 pounds) is a bit light out of Washington, but he has exceptional reach (34 and 1/8-inch arms) to go with standout tested athleticism. His 40 (5.2 seconds), vertical (29.5 inches), broad jump (113 inches) and agility drills were all safely above average for centers. The Broncos already have Lloyd Cushenberry at center, so Wattenberg will probably be a guard or swing backup for Denver.
