Keep up with the latest injuries from the Panthers vs 49ers game on Monday with our National Football League injury report.Nov 11, 2025
Back with Carolina
The Panthers signed White to the practice squad Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
White will rejoin the team and serve as organization quarterback depth behind Bryce Young and Andy Dalton in Carolina.
Nov 8, 2025
Let go by Panthers
White was waived by Carolina on Saturday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
White appeared only as an inactive emergency third quarterback for the Panthers in their Week 9 win over the Packers. With neither Bryce Young nor Andy Dalton appearing on the Week 10 injury report, it appears White's services are no longer needed. The quarterback's spot on the active roster has been taken by undrafted rookie defensive tackle Jared Harrison-Hunte. White will now be placed on waivers, and if he goes unclaimed will become a free agent.
Nov 2, 2025
Inactive third QB for Week 9
White (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as Carolina's emergency third quarterback against Green Bay on Sunday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Starter Bryce Young (ankle) and backup Andy Dalton (thumb) have both been cleared to play Sunday, so White will operate as the emergency third QB. That means White will be permitted to play only if both Young and Dalton are removed from the game due to injury, illness or ejection.
Oct 30, 2025
Could be No. 2 QB for CAR in Week 9
The Panthers signed White from their practice squad to their active roster Thursday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
White signed with Carolina's practice squad Oct. 21, and he could be needed to serve as Bryce Young's backup Sunday versus Green Bay if Andy Dalton (thumb) can't suit up. White has 15 regular-season games (including seven starts) of NFL action under his belt across stints with the Jets, Dolphins and Bills. The Panthers made room for him on the roster by placing offensive lineman Brady Christensen (Achilles) on IR.
Oct 21, 2025
Signed to Carolina's practice squad
The Panthers signed White to the practice squad Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
White's addition to the practice squad comes with the Panthers expecting Bryce Young to be sidelined for at least one game due to a high-ankle sprain that he sustained during Sunday's 13-6 win over the Jets. Andy Dalton is set to take over as the starting QB for at least Week 8 against the Bills, and White will likely be elevated to the active roster to serve as the backup for that contest.
Oct 20, 2025
Set to join Panthers
White is expected to sign with the Panthers practice squad Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Bryce Young is set to miss at least the Panthers' Week 8 contest, and potentially additional time, with a high-ankle sprain. That will set Andy Dalton up to start against the Bills, with White likely to be elevated to the active roster to serve as the backup. White has also spent time with the Bengals' practie squad this season.
Oct 7, 2025
Cut from practice squad
The Bengals released White from the practice squad Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals are left with Jake Browning and Brett Rypien on the active roster and Sean Clifford on the practice squad at quarterback.
Sep 16, 2025
Catches on with Cincinnati
The Bengals signed White to the practice squad Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
The Bengals added both White and Sean Clifford to the practice squad in the wake of Joe Burrow (toe) being placed on injured reserve. Brett Rypien was promoted to the active roster and will serve as Jake Browning's backup, but White or Clifford could eventually challenge Rypien for QB2 duties. White was cut by the Bills in late August after failing to beat out Mitchell Trubisky for the backup role behind Josh Allen. White has appeared in 15 regular-season games (seven starts) since being selected by the Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Aug 25, 2025
Cut by Buffalo
White was released by the Bills on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
White appears to have lost his battle with Mitchell Trubisky for the backup role behind Josh Allen in 2025. White appeared in two of the Bills' preseason contests, completing 12 of 24 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns. The 30-year-old has appeared in 15 regular-season games between the Jets, Dolphins and Bills over the the last four years, so he likely won't have to wait long for his next opportunity.
Aug 6, 2025
In competition for backup role
White and Mitchell Trubisky are in a competition for a backup role that will likely extend throughout the preseason, Lance Lysowski reports.
ANALYSIS
White signed to the Bills' practice squad last season and appeared in Week 18 behind backup Mitchell Trubisky. The 30-year-old has attempted just eight passes over the past two seasons, but has an opportunity to secure a backup role as Trubisky is a potential cap on the final year of his two-year, $5.2 million contract.
Jan 3, 2025
Promoted to active roster
The Bills signed White off their practice squad Friday.
ANALYSIS
With Josh Allen set to only take a handful of snaps in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Patriots, White will be active as Mitchell Trubisky's backup for the remainder of the contest once Allen is pulled from the game. White has attempted just six regular-season passes since the start of 2023.
Dec 16, 2024
Returns to practice squad
White reverted to the Bills' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
ANALYSIS
White operated as the Bills' emergency quarterback in Sunday's 48-42 win over the Lions, ultimately failing to enter the contest. The team has now used up all three of his elevations and White would have to officially be signed to the active roster in order to be elevated again.
Dec 14, 2024
Elevated from practice squad
White has been elevated from the practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the Lions.
ANALYSIS
White is expected to serve as Buffalo's emergency quarterback for Sunday behind Josh Allen and Mitchell Trubisky. He isn't likely to play, though, so his promotion to the active roster might be a way to reward him for his work on the practice squad over the last few weeks.
Dec 2, 2024
Reverts to practice squad
White reverted to the Bills' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
White was elevated for the Bills' 35-10 win over the 49ers on Sunday, when he served as the emergency third quarterback behind Josh Allen and Mitch Trubisky. White did not see the field as neither Allen nor Trubisky suffered injuries.
Nov 30, 2024
Elevated for Week 13
The Bills elevated White from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
White has been on Buffalo's practice squad since late August and hasn't gotten into a game this season. The veteran quarterback isn't likely to play in Sunday's contest, as both Josh Allen and Mitchell Trubisky are healthy and ahead of him on the depth chart. Per Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic, White's elevation may be a move to reward him for his work on the practice squad throughout the campaign.
Aug 27, 2024
Joining Bills' practice squad
White signed with Buffalo's practice squad Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Bills will be White's third team affiliation in as many years, but he's staying inside of the AFC East. He could be elevated from the practice squad for Week 1 if Mitch Trubisky (knee) proves unavailable.
Aug 25, 2024
Let to by Miami
The Dolphins have decided to release White, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
White had been competing with Skylar Thompson for the No. 2 QB role throughout camp, and this move signifies that Thompson has emerged on top in that battle. There was a possibility that Miami would keep all three signal-callers on the 53-man roster, but White instead will need to look for work with a new organization. The 29-year-old completed just 20 of 43 pass attempts for 179 yards without a touchdown or interception during the preseason, but he's had enough in-game NFL experience with some success -- specifically in 2021 and 2022 with the Jets -- to be an appealing option for teams needing quarterback depth.
Feb 9, 2024
Cap decisions coming in offseason
White completed five of six pass attempts for 74 yards, one touchdown and one interception across six regular-season appearances in 2023. He also rushed eight times for a loss of nine yards.
ANALYSIS
White wasn't called upon to do much as Miami's backup behind Tua Tagovailoa, mostly entering games late in the fourth quarter in contests where the Dolphins were simply running out a large lead. He remains under contract with Miami for the 2024 campaign, but the team has a potential 'out' for only a $1.7 million cap hit, whereas White will otherwise cost a significant $5.2 million against the cap. It wouldn't be surprising to see both sides agree on a restructure in the coming months, if there's mutual interest in remaining together.
Dec 6, 2023
Mops up in Week 13
White completed his lone pass attempt for three yards while playing the final 13 snaps of the Dolphins' 45-15 win over the Commanders on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Tua Tagovailoa has started all 12 of the Dolphins' games this season, but White has gotten the chance to take snaps at the end of four contests, all of which were blowout wins. Over his four relief appearances, White has completed three of four attempts for 70 yards, one touchdown and one interception. If Tagovailoa were to miss time at any point, White could make for an intriguing lineup option in leagues that start two quarterbacks while he has access to a Miami offense featuring talented playmakers such as Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane.
Sep 25, 2023
Makes most of relief snaps
White completed both of his pass attempts for 67 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 70-20 win over Denver. He also lost one yard on his lone carry.
ANALYSIS
White entered the contest in the fourth quarter in relief of Tua Tagovailoa, with the game already well out of hand, and managed to connect with Robbie Chosen on a 68-yard score after a handful of initial plays were bottled up. It's difficult to take much away from Sunday's blowout win, but White certainly made the most of his first reserve action as a member of the Dolphins. He remains Tagovailoa's top backup heading into a Week 4 matchup at Buffalo.
Sep 4, 2023
Earns backup role
White will be the Dolphins' backup quarterback to start the season, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
White securing the No. 2 role was expected but not an absolute lock, given the encouraging body of work fellow signal-caller Skylar Thompson put together in head coach Mike McDaniel's offense as a rookie last season. However, this report officially confirms White will open the season as Tua Tagovailoa's direct backup after joining Miami on a two-year deal this offseason following a pair of campaigns with the division-rival Jets.
Aug 27, 2023
Clears concussion protocol
Head coach Mike McDaniel said Sunday that White has cleared concussion protocol, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.
ANALYSIS
White landed in concussion protocols following Miami's second preseason game and was sidelined for the finale. His absence has allowed Skylar Thompson to remain in contention for the backup spot behind Tua Tagovailoa, as McDaniel noted that he's not ready to announce who'll be the No. 2 yet.
Aug 24, 2023
Still in protocols
White is still in the league's concussion protocols despite practicing Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
White entered protocols Monday and after returning to the field Wednesday it was believed he had been fully cleared. However, the 28-year-old still hasn't made it through every step. Head coach Mike McDaniel has stated White will not play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Jaguars, even if he's been cleared to play.
Aug 23, 2023
Back in action
White (concussion) is practicing Wednesday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
White entered the league's concussion protocols Monday, but he was able to clear through them quickly. He'll now return to working to earn the team's No. 2 quarterback role over Skylar Thompson.
Aug 21, 2023
In concussion protocol
The Dolphins have placed White in the concussion protocol after noticing irregularities in his behavior during Saturday's preseason game against the Texans, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Miami planned for White to split reps with Skylar Thompson prior to his suffering a concussion, per Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post. The top backup to Tua Tagovailoa will now be unavailable until he's able to fully clear the league's five-step protocol for brain injuries. As a result, the team plans to re-sign James Blackmon ahead of this weekend's preseason finale versus Jacksonville, Wolfe reports.
Aug 11, 2023
Lackluster showing in loss
White completed nine of 14 passes for 85 yards and an interception in Friday's preseason loss to the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
The former Jet got the start for the Dolphins and looked sharp on the opening drive until he got picked off in the red zone. White ended up leading Miami to no points on three first-half drives, but Skylar Thompson struggled just as much after intermission in an eventual 19-3 loss. White is the favorite to claim the No. 2 job behind Tua Tagovailoa after signing a two-year, $8 million deal in the offseason, but his first game action with his new club was unimpressive.
Jun 13, 2023
Struggling this spring
White has struggled during spring practices and will still need to compete with Skylar Thompson for the second spot on the depth chart, according to Daniel Oyefusi of The Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
A two-year, $8 million contract makes White the favorite for Miami's backup QB job, but it apparently isn't a sure thing. The catch here is that White is new to coach Mike McDaniel's system, while Thompson had all of last year to learn it. White still has training camp and the preseason ahead of him to prove he's the best option for Miami under center in the event of a Tua Tagovailoa injury.
Mar 13, 2023
To sign with Dolphins
White (ribs) has agreed to terms with the Dolphins on a two-year contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
White gives the Dolphins an experienced backup behind Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) with Teddy Bridgewater a free agent. Turning 28 later this month, White made seven starts for the Jets over the last two seasons, completing 62.2 percent of his passes at 7.0 yards per attempt with eight touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
Jan 8, 2023
Inactive for Week 18
White (ribs) is inactive for Sunday's season finale against Miami, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
White aggravated his rib injury -- which reportedly entails five fractures -- in an ugly Week 17 performance at Seattle. Joe Flacco will start the season finale, while White can focus on his recovery as he prepares to hit unrestricted free agency this offseason (unless he re-signs with the Jets first). Zach Wilson will be the team's backup QB in the season finale against Miami.
Jan 6, 2023
Not in line to start Sunday
Though the Jets officially list White (ribs) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, coach Robert Saleh previously noted that the QB is not in line to play in the contest.
ANALYSIS
Per Ethan Greenberg and John Pullano of the team's official site and Rich Cimini of ESPN, Joe Flacco is in line to start the Jets' season finale, with Zach Wilson slated to serve as the team's No. 2 QB in Week 18. After practicing fully Wednesday, White was limited in practice on Thursday and now he's in line to be out this weekend after aggravating a previous rib injury last Sunday against the Seahawks.
Jan 6, 2023
Played through five fractured ribs
White (ribs) revealed Friday that he's been playing through five fractured ribs, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
White was noticeably hampered when he tried to play through the injury in the Week 17 loss to Seattle, and he has already been ruled out for New York's season finale. The 27-year-old quarterback will be a free agent at the end of the season, and it's possible the Jets view White as a candidate for the starting job in 2023. He finishes the 2022 season with 1,192 passing yards and a 3:4 TD:INT across four starts.
Jan 6, 2023
Ruled out for Week 18
White (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday's road matchup against the Dolphins, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
With White out for the regular-season finale, Joe Flacco will start for the Jets on Sunday while Zach Wilson operates as the No. 2 option, per Costello. New York's plan had been to start White in Week 18 if healthy, but the team will now have to pivot to 37-year-old veteran Flacco to close out the 2022 regular season.
Jan 5, 2023
Limited practice Thursday
White (ribs), who was listed as a full practice participant in Wednesday's walk-through, was limited during Thursday's session, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
White's status is thus worth monitoring ahead of this weekend's game against the Dolphins, but unless the QB returns to a full practice Friday, he figures to carry an injury designation into the Jets' season finale. Earlier this week, coach Robert Saleh acknowledged that White was dealing with some rib soreness after Week 17 action, but added that the signal-caller should be ready for Sunday's contest.
Jan 4, 2023
Remains starter
Jets head coach Robert Saleh said White will remain the team's starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though he's still tending to a fractured rib, White will begin Week 18 prep Wednesday as a full participant and is on tap for his second straight start, despite the fact that the 7-9 Jets have been eliminated from playoff contention. After sitting out Weeks 15 and 16 due to the rib issue, White returned to the lineup for this past Sunday's 23-6 loss to the Seahawks and struggled to move the offense, completing just 23 of 46 pass attempts for 200 yards and two interceptions while also losing a fumble. Despite White's poor showing, the Jets will stick with him rather than turning the offense back over to Zach Wilson, whom Saleh confirmed will be a healthy inactive for the season finale. Joe Flacco will dress as White's backup.
Jan 1, 2023
Rough performance in loss
White completed 23 of 46 passes for 240 yards with two interceptions and a lost fumble in Sunday's 23-6 loss to the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Making his first start since Week 14, White didn't look fully recovered from his rib injury and made a number of awkward throws that were well off the mark, although a Seattle pass rush that sacked him four times was also a factor. With the Jets now eliminated from playoff contention and White having posted a 0:4 TD:INT over his last three games, it's not clear who coach Robert Saleh will name his starting QB for a Week 18 trip to Miami.
Dec 30, 2022
Fully healthy for Week 17 start
White (ribs) logged full practices Wednesday and Thursday, and Rich Cimini of ESPN reports that White will start against the Seahawks on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
White had the Jets offense looking as good as it had all year in his three starts, but he missed the last two games due to a fractured rib. After receiving medical clearance Monday, White has been practicing fully, and he'll be under center as the Jets try to make a late playoff push. Joe Flacco will back White up in Seattle, as Zach Wilson has been benched for the second time this season.
Dec 26, 2022
Gets cleared, set for Week 17 start
White (ribs) received medical clearance from doctors and is on track to reclaim starting quarterback duties for the Jets this Sunday at Seattle, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
After he was unsuccessful in his effort to find a doctor who would allow him to play through the fracture ribs he sustained in the Jets' Dec. 11 loss to the Bills, White missed both of the Jets' last two contests while head coach Robert Saleh turned the offense back over to 2021 No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson. With Wilson failing to impress in back-to-back losses to the Lions and Jaguars, it comes as no major surprise that White will recapture the starting job as the 7-8-0 Jets look to keep their fading playoff hopes alive. Assuming White is able to open Week 17 prep Wednesday with a full practice, Saleh will likely confirm the 27-year-old's return to the starting lineup.
Dec 24, 2022
Set to have ribs checked out Monday
White is slated to undergo scans on his injured ribs Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Rapoport, the hope that is White -- who is reportedly dealing with fractured ribs -- is cleared for contact ahead of the Jets' Week 17 game against the Seahawks. If so, he'd presumably be in line to start at QB for New York a week from Sunday, but if White isn't cleared by then, Zach Wilson would be a candidate to get the nod versus Seattle.
Dec 20, 2022
Out for Thursday Night Football
Coach Robert Saleh said Tuesday that White (ribs) is ruled out for Thursday's game against the Jaguars, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Saleh said he doesn't believe White's ribs injury is season-ending, per Brian Costello of the New York Post, but it will be Zach Wilson taking at least one more start for the Jets in Week 16. That makes White's next chance to start January 1 versus the Seahawks, while veteran Joe Flacco will serve as Wilson's backup Thursday.
Dec 19, 2022
Listed as limited on practice estimate
White (ribs) was listed as limited on Monday's practice estimate, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
At this stage, White, who is dealing fractured ribs, is still being evaluated by doctors, which clouds his status in advance of Thursday night's game against the Jaguars. For now, coach Robert Saleh hasn't confirmed the team's starting QB for the contest, but on a short week, White could be hard-pressed to be cleared to face Jacksonville, and if so Zach Wilson would be in line to draw the assignment in Week 16.
Dec 19, 2022
Still isn't cleared
Coach Robert Saleh revealed Monday that White (ribs) has yet to be cleared for contact, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports, so White's unlikely to play Thursday against the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
White's dealing with fractured ribs, so while he feels good enough to play, the medical staff has to wait for the risk of further injury to subside before clearing him. Barring a sudden turnaround, Zach Wilson will be tasked with starting a second consecutive game for the 7-7 Jets, whose playoff hopes hang in the balance.
Dec 16, 2022
To be reevaluated Monday
White (ribs) will be reevaluated Monday, but coach Robert Saleh acknowledged that it will be a "challenge" to get the quarterback cleared in time to play Thursday against the Jaguars, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
White insisted throughout the week that he's ready to play Sunday against Detroit, but he failed to gain clearance from team doctors and will thus be inactive while Zach Wilson gets the start. With a short week after that, White may end up sitting out in Week 16 as well due to the rib injury he suffered in the Week 14 loss to Buffalo.
Dec 16, 2022
Won't play Sunday
White (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 27-year-old was limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday and planned to play through the rib injury this weekend, but he won't be cleared for contact in time for Sunday, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Zach Wilson will retake the reigns under center for the Jets with White sidelined. New York has a quick turnaround Week 16 with a matchup against Jacksonville up next Thursday, and Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports White should have a chance to play in that contest.
Dec 15, 2022
Still limited, but in line to start
White (rib) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Though the sore rib White sustained in last Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Bills resulted in his practice reps being managed for the second day in a row, the quarterback said after Thursday's session that he has no doubt he'll be available to make his fourth consecutive start this weekend against the Lions, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. Before a determination is made on whether White will carry an injury designation into Sunday, the Jets will see if the signal-caller can increase his practice activity Friday.
Dec 14, 2022
Set for limited practice
Head coach Robert Saleh said White (ribs) will be a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, but the Jets are still preparing as though the quarterback will start Sunday's game against the Lions, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Though White exited on two occasions in this past Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Bills due to the rib issue, he proceeded to miss only six snaps on offense and finished the day with 27 completions for 268 yards on 44 pass attempts. White was briefly checked out in a Buffalo-area hospital following the game, though no serious damage was detected. The fact that he'll be on the practice field in any capacity to begin Week 15 prep is a good sign that he'll be good to go this Sunday, but if White doesn't progress from the injury as anticipated and isn't available to start, the Jets would likely turn the offense back over to Zach Wilson. Saleh confirmed that Wilson will leapfrog Joe Flacco on the depth chart this week to serve as White's top backup.
Dec 12, 2022
Deemed day-to-day
Coach Robert Saleh said Monday that White (ribs) is day-to-day, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
White went to the hospital as a precaution after Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Bills, but he flew back with the team. The starting quarterback's practice participation will be worth mointoring throughout the week, but White is tentatively on track to suit up Sunday against the Lions.
Dec 11, 2022
Joins teammates for trip home
White traveled back to New York on the team plane after injuring his ribs during Sunday's 20-12 loss in Buffalo, Kimberley A. Martin of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
White twice handed the offense over to Joe Flacco while being evaluated for a rib issue, but he was able to return both times and finish out the contest, completing 27 of 44 passes for 268 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions. Afterward, Jets medical personnel sent White to a Buffalo-area hospital to be examined further, but those tests appear to have checked out OK as well. In any case, White's status will be one to watch as the week goes on to get a sense of his potential to keep playing through the pain next Sunday against the Lions.
Dec 11, 2022
Sent to hospital after loss
White (ribs) completed 27 of 44 passes for 268 yards in Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Bills. After the game, the team sent him to the hospital as a precaution, Ethan Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
White exited for two plays in the second quarter after taking an unpenalized big hit from Tre'Davious White as he threw a 24-yard pass to Elijah Moore, then went to the locker room again in the third after Matt Milano drove him into the ground on another play that didn't draw a flag. Clearly in pain, White returned again as the Jets tried to stage a comeback after being shut out in the first half. It's a good sign that White was able to finish the game, and coach Robert Saleh said after the game that White's ribs checked out fine before he came back in and confirmed that White will be the starter in Week 15 against the Lions if healthy enough to play, per Connor Hughes of The Athletic and Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, respectively.
Dec 11, 2022
Back in Sunday's game
White (ribs) returned to Sunday's game against the Bills.
ANALYSIS
White, who previously exited the contest with rib injury, was replaced by Joe Flacco, but he's been cleared to re-enter the game after having spent some time in the Jets' locker room, per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com.
Dec 11, 2022
Heads to locker room Sunday
White is questionable to return Sunday against the Bills with a rib injury.
ANALYSIS
White completed 15 of 23 passes for 154 yards before leaving the game with a rib injury in the second half. He went to the locker room and is considered questionable to return. Joe Flacco has entered the game, but Zach Wilson (coach's decision) is inactive.
Dec 4, 2022
Comeback bid comes up just short
White completed 31 of 57 passes for 369 yards and two interceptions in Sunday's 27-22 loss to Minnesota. He added seven yards and a touchdown on three rushing attempts.
ANALYSIS
White was intercepted on the opening drive, as his third-down pass to Corey Davis was tipped in the air and snagged by Vikings safety Harrison Smith. The 27-year-old quarterback bounced back by leading a field-goal drive on the ensuing possession, but those ended up being the Jets' only points until Greg Zuerlein tacked on a 60-yard field goal in the final seconds of the first half. New York's offense stepped up after halftime, driving deep into Minnesota territory for a trio of field goals before White finally got into the end zone on a fourth-down quarterback sneak to cut Minnesota's lead to 27-22 with 6:45 remaining. The Jets' next drive stalled out at the one-yard line, and they got one final chance to win it, but White's desperation fourth-down heave to the end zone was intercepted. While New York didn't get the result it wanted, White topped 300 passing yards for the second time in as many starts, so he's locked in atop the quarterback depth chart heading into a Week 14 trip to Buffalo.
Nov 27, 2022
Three TDs in impressive debut
White completed 22 of 28 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 31-10 win over the Bears. He added two rushing yards on three attempts.
ANALYSIS
Called upon to make his season debut with Zach Wilson benched, White immediately produced the Jets' first opening possession touchdown drive of the season. He completed six of seven passes for 69 yards on the drive, capped by an eight-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson. In the second quarter, White connected with Elijah Moore for a 42-yard gain leading to a botched field-goal attempt, then found Wilson for a 54-yard touchdown to take a 14-10 lead. White finished the first half with 16 completions on 20 attempts for 235 yards and two touchdowns as the Jets took a 17-10 lead into the locker room. The dominant Jets defense took over after that, though White chipped in with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Elijah Moore. It's safe to say White can be treated as New York's starter until further notice, so expect to see him under center against the Vikings in Week 13.
Nov 23, 2022
Slated to start Sunday
Coach Robert Saleh announced Wednesday that White will start Sunday's game against the Bears.
ANALYSIS
The decision sends Zach Wilson -- the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft -- to the bench this weekend, with Saleh noting that Wilson "needs a re-set", per Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. White -- who will backed up by Joe Flacco -- thus represents a fantasy option in Week 12 for those who had been relying on Wilson or are otherwise looking for some short-term signal-caller depth.
Oct 30, 2022
Set to serve as backup
White will be on the active roster Week 8 against the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
Beyond starter Zach Wilson, there have been unique circumstances in the Jets quarterback room this week. Chris Streveler was activated from the practice squad, but he won't end up suiting up for the Week 8 matchup. Joe Flacco -- who had been considered the primary backup to Wilson since Week 4 -- is also a healthy scratch for the contest, leaving White as the only other active option after Wilson. The second-year quarterback appeared in four games last season for the Jets and completed 66.7 percent of his passes, but he also racked up eight interceptions over that stretch.

Steadies ship in preseason finale
White completed 13 of 17 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-27 preseason win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
White came in after Joe Flacco and before Chris Streveler. He let Braxton Berrios do most of the work on a 21-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, then capped a strong two-minute drill with a 19-yard touchdown to Jeff Smith late in the first half. White's strongest performance of the preseason likely did enough to secure him a roster spot over Streveler, who later led a third second-half comeback in as many preseason games for the Jets.
Aug 23, 2022
Outplayed by Streveler
White completed 12 of 17 passes for 90 yards in Monday's 24-16 preseason win over the Falcons. He added one yard on one rushing attempt and didn't record a touchdown or turnover.
ANALYSIS
With the Jets resting a number of notable starters, White got the start surrounded by second-stringers and struggled against Atlanta's first-string defense. The Jets trailed 16-3 when White's night ended one drive into the second quarter, and Chris Streveler led a second-half comeback for the second time in as many weeks. With White struggling and Streveler surging, the former's roster spot could be in jeopardy barring a bounce-back performance in Sunday's preseason finale against the Giants.

Throws 20 balls after Wilson injury
White completed 10 of 20 passes for 98 yards and rushed once for minus-3 yards in Friday's 24-21 preseason win over the Eagles
ANALYSIS
White entered the game after starter Zach Wilson departed due to a knee injury, which is expected to keep Wilson sidelined for 2-4 weeks. Chris Streveler threw two touchdowns after replacing White but remains well behind White in New York's quarterback pecking order. Joe Flacco -- who was inactive Friday -- is expected to get the first crack at regular season playing time if Wilson's not ready to return by Week 1, but White would likely be kept around as the backup in such a scenario. If Wilson's ready to dress for the Sept. 11 season opener, Jets brass would have to decide between keeping three quarterbacks, trading White or attempting to put him on the practice squad.

Signs RFA tender
White has signed his restricted free agent tender with the Jets, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Cimini, White is slated to earn $2.54 million this coming season. The 26-year-old made four appearances (three starts) for the Jets in 2021, completing 88 of 132 passes for 953 yards, to go along with five touchdowns and eight interceptions. Now that he's back in the fold, White will compete with veteran Joe Flacco for the No. 2 signal-caller job behind Zach Wilson.
Mar 16, 2022
Tendered by Jets
The Jets tendered White at his original-round level Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With the move, he's set to make $2.54 million in 2022, unless another team offers him more. In which case, New York would have the ability to match any offer, but if they decline, they'd receive a fifth-round pick in return. The Jets also re-signed Joe Flacco to a one-year, $3.5 million deal Wednesday, so they'll have multiple options behind Zach Wilson. In 2021, White made four appearances (three starts) and completed 88 of 132 passes for 953 yards, five touchdowns and eight interceptions. However, the majority of his positive production (405 yards and three touchdowns) came in a Week 8 upset win over the Bengals.

One scintillating start, three duds
White made four appearances (three starts) in 2021, completing 88 of 132 passes for 953 yards, five touchdowns and eight interceptions.
ANALYSIS
White had never gotten into a regular-season game before the 2021 season, but the 26-year-old quarterback took the league by storm in his first NFL start, throwing for 405 yards and three touchdowns in a Week 8 upset win over the Bengals. Unfortunately for White, he was unable to replicate that success in any of his other outings, quickly putting an end to the brief quarterback controversy for the Jets. Zach Wilson is the clear quarterback of the future for Gang Green after being selected second overall in the 2021 NFL Entry Draft, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the Jets bring back White -- who is a restricted free agent -- to serve as Wilson's backup again next season.

Returns from COVID-19 list
New York reinstated White (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
White has had one of the lengthier stays on the COVID-19 list of any player over the past two seasons, as he was first deactivated Nov. 23 after testing positive. Just under a month later, White is finally ready to put an end to his five-game absence. Before missing time, White appeared to have fallen behind both Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco on the depth chart at quarterback, so despite his return to full health, the 26-year-old could find himself on the Jets' inactive list Week 16 against Jacksonville.
Dec 15, 2021
Managing non-COVID illness
Coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that White is dealing with a non-COVID illness, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
White tested positive for COVID-19 in late November but is now dealing with a different illness ahead of Week 15. It's not yet clear whether he'll be able to suit up Sunday against the Dolphins, but he'll likely serve as the No. 3 quarterback behind Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco if he's active.
Nov 29, 2021
Likely out Week 13
White (llness) isn't expected to clear the COVID-19 protocols this week, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
White was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list last week after testing positive for the virus, and it's unlikely he return to the active roster this week. Joe Flacco was also sidelined for Week 12 as a close contact, but he cleared the health and safety protocols before being activated Monday.
Nov 23, 2021
Tests positive for COVID-19
White was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday after testing positive for the virus, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Joe Flacco also landed on the COVID-19 list as a close contact, and both players will be sidelined for this weekend's matchup with Houston. White served as the backup to Flacco during Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, and rookie Zach Wilson (knee) is set to reclaim the starting job Week 12 at Houston. Josh Johnson will be promoted from the practice squad to handle backup duties, while White will be unavailable until he clears the health and safety protocols.
Nov 17, 2021
Not starting Week 11
White won't start Sunday's game against the Dolphins, as the Jets are instead planning to have Joe Flacco step in at quarterback, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After throwing for three touchdowns and amassing 405 yards through the air in his first NFL start Week 8 in the Jets' upset win over the Bengals, White had an injury-shortened start against the Colts in Week 9, then returned Week 10 to complete only 24 of 44 pass attempts while tossing four interceptions in a blowout loss to the Bills. The turnover-prone outing was the final nail in the coffin for White, who had been expected to lose his starting job as soon as rookie first-round pick Zach Wilson (knee) was ready to return to the lineup. The Jets believe that Wilson will need at least another week to get back to 100 percent, but White's relative inexperience along with a matchup versus a blitz-happy Dolphins defense that features plenty of secondary talent left the coaching staff convinced that the 36-year-old Flacco was the team's best option Week 11. Assuming Wilson is ready to go for a Week 12 matchup in Houston, White will likely drop to third on the depth chart behind both Wilson and Flacco.
Nov 14, 2021
Four picks in disastrous showing
White completed 24 of 44 passes for 251 yards and four interceptions in Sunday's 45-17 loss to Buffalo.
ANALYSIS
White was completely overmatched by the ferocious Bills defense, and he was finally pulled from the game after taking a sack on New York's final drive. Joe Flacco came in and proceeded to complete all three of his passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. White's time as New York's starting quarterback appears to have come to an end as abruptly as it started, as the Jets will have to consider trotting Flacco out there in Week 11 against the Dolphins, even if rookie Zach Wilson (knee) still isn't ready to play. Coach Robert Saleh said after the game that the team won't make a decision at quarterback until checking on Wilson's health, per Al Iannazzone of Newsday Sports, so expect further clarification on where White stands in the pecking order once the Jets resume practicing Wednesday.
Nov 11, 2021
Could keep starting after Week 10
Jets head coach Robert Saleh implied Wednesday that White's performance in his third start of the season Sunday against the Bills will dictate whether the signal-caller retains the top spot on the depth chart moving forward, Connor Hughes of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
When No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson (knee) succumbed to a PCL sprain in a Week 7 loss to the Patriots, expectations were low for White when he stepped in for his first career start Week 8 against the Bengals. Not only did the Jets spring an upset win in that contest, but White was at the forefront of the thrilling win, completing 37 of 45 attempts for 405 yards and three touchdowns and two interceptions, both of which came on tipped passes. White engineered another scoring drive in the first quarter of last week's loss to the Colts, but a minor forearm injury prevented him from finishing the contest. Though Wilson has since resumed practicing, he isn't on track to play this week, and he may not recapture the starting job even if he gets the green light to suit up for a Week 11 matchup with the Dolphins. Wilson's fate looks like it will ultimately be decided by White, who will get a chance to build job security if he's able to impress in a tough test against the Bills' top-ranked pass defense, which is allowin
Nov 10, 2021
Draws another start
Coach Robert Saleh confirmed Wednesday that White (forearm) will start Sunday's game against the Bills.
ANALYSIS
While Zach Wilson (knee) is in line to practice this week, he's not ready to return to the lineup, which sets the stage for Joe Flacco to back up White this weekend, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports. It remains to be seen if White continues to start beyond Week 10, but it's worth noting that Saleh has yet to state that Wilson is a lock to immediately reclaim his starting job once he's fully healthy. In his last full game, White threw for 405 yards in the Jets' upset win over the Bengals in Week 8, but his matchup this weekend poses a challenge, with the Bills allowing a league-low average of 177 passing yards per game to date.
Nov 8, 2021
Trending toward Week 10 start
Head coach Robert Saleh hinted Monday that White (forearm) is likely to make a third straight start in the Jets' Week 10 game against the Bills, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Following a two-week absence, No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson (knee) is expected to resume practicing Wednesday, but Saleh suggested that the rookie signal-caller isn't fully healthy and will likely need an additional week of practice time before reclaiming starting duties for the Jets. White exited in the Jets' Week 9 loss to the Colts with a right forearm injury of his own, but he's dealing with a much less serious health concern than Wilson and should be able to get in a full week of practice to put himself in position to play against Buffalo. Though veteran journeyman Josh Johnson was impressive in relief of an injured White against Indianapolis, the 26-year-old White offers more developmental upside for the 2-6 Jets and was instrumental in engineering the team's upset win over the Bengals in his first NFL start Week 8.
Nov 5, 2021
Coach cryptic on starter vs. Bills
Coach Robert Saleh wouldn't commit to White (forearm) or Zach Wilson (knee) as his starter for the Jets' Week 10 game against the Bills, though both quarterbacks are expected to resume practicing Monday, Eric Allen of Jets 360 Productions reports.
ANALYSIS
Wilson was the starter while healthy, but White came in for one full game and parts of two others following Wilson's injury and performed at a higher level than the rookie second-overall pick had been able to reach. Ultimately, Saleh's decision could be made easier if one of the quarterbacks ends up needing more time to heal, but at least in White's case, it appears he'll be cleared in time to face the Bills next Sunday after hurting his forearm in the first half of Thursday's loss to the Colts.
Nov 5, 2021
Injury likely minor
White (forearm) is expected to return to practice and to be available for the Jets' Week 10 matchup against Buffalo, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
ANALYSIS
White suffered the injury during the Jets' first offensive possession of Thursday's loss to the Colts. He was evaluated by the medical staff and was seen attempting throws on the sideline, but he was unable to return after struggling to grip the ball well. However, it sounds as if he avoided serious injury, and he may be healthy enough to be active for the team's next game in 10 days. However, his status as the team's starter will depend on whether Zach Wilson (ankle) is able to return.
Nov 4, 2021
Dealing with forearm injury
White is questionable to return to Thursday's game against the Colts due to a right forearm injury.
ANALYSIS
White led the Jets' offense to a touchdown on the team's first offensive possession, but he suffered an injury while following through on a throw. He was evaluated in the medical tent for a lengthy period and attempted to warm up on the sideline but was unable to grip the ball comfortably. Josh Johnson has taken over at quarterback in his absence.
Oct 31, 2021
Wins scintillating debut
White completed 37 of 45 passes for 405 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Bengals. He add minus-1 yard on five rushing attempts and caught a two-point conversion.
ANALYSIS
White led the Jets to an opening-drive touchdown, scored on an eight-yard run by Michael Carter, but he proceeded to throw interceptions on each of the next two possessions as Cincinnati built up a 17-7 lead. The backup quarterback bounced back nicely in the two-minute drill, shaking off the disappointment of an overturned would-be Keelan Cole touchdown by finding Braxton Berrios for an eight-yard score two plays later to cut the deficit to three heading into halftime. After a quiet third quarter, he heated back up with the game on the line, throwing touchdown passes of 19 yards to Ty Johnson and 13 yards to Tyler Kroft, the latter of which White followed up with a back-shoulder catch for a two-point conversion on a trick play. White fittingly closed it out himself by converting a 3rd-and-1 for the game-sealing first down on an old-fashioned quarterback sneak. After topping 400 yards in his first career start, White has been confirmed by coach Robert Saleh as New York's starter under center for Thursday's Wee
Oct 27, 2021
Week 8 starter
With Zach Wilson dealing with a knee injury, White will start Sunday's game against the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Per Eric Allen of the Jets' official site, veteran QB Joe Flacco, who the team recently acquired, is participating in meetings virtually this week and won't practice until Friday. As a result, it's unclear if he'll be active as White's backup Sunday, with Josh Johnson in line to handle the role if Flacco doesn't. In relief of Wilson in this past Sunday's 54-12 loss to the Patriots, White completed 20 of 32 passes for 202 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions. While it remains to be seen if White will remain the Jets' starter beyond this weekend, he's a Week 8 option for those in two-QB formats or who are scrambling for signal-caller depth due to bye weeks or injuries.
Oct 25, 2021
Back to No. 2 QB
White likely will remain the Jets' backup quarterback following Monday's trade for Joe Flacco from the Eagles, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
A 2018 fifth-round pick, White stepped in in place of an injured Zach Wilson (knee) on Sunday at New England, earning his first NFL action in the process. Overall, White fared modestly, completing 20 of 32 passes for 202 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He was slated to remain the No. 1 quarterback following news that Wilson is expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks due to a sprained PCL, but the deal for a known entity in Flacco makes sense for the Jets. White thus is poised to be Flacco's backup while latter directs the offense in Wilson's absence.
Oct 25, 2021
First NFL start awaits
White is expected to start the Jets' Week 8 game against the Bengals with top quarterback Zack Wilson (knee) likely to miss 2-to-4 weeks after he was diagnosed Monday with a PCL sprain, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
White, who went undrafted out of Western Kentucky in 2018, was summoned off the bench for his first NFL snaps in relief of an injured Wilson in Sunday's 54-13 loss to the Patriots. Though he quickly converted on a three-yard touchdown pass to Corey Davis after Wilson exited the game in the second quarter with the Jets facing a goal-line situation, White largely struggled to guide the offense most of the afternoon, finishing with 20 completions on 32 attempts for 202 yards and two interceptions. White could deliver an improved performance with the benefit of a full slate of first-team reps in practices Wednesday through Friday, but he likely won't warrant much consideration Week 8 outside of fantasy leagues that start two quarterbacks or have a QB flex spot.
Oct 24, 2021
Replaces injured Wilson
White replaced the injured Zach Wilson (knee) in the second quarter of Sunday's 54-13 loss to the Patriots. He threw for 202 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
ANALYSIS
White entered the game in a 1st-and-goal situation after Wilson got injured, and the backup responded by throwing a three-yard touchdown to Corey Davis on his first NFL pass. It was all downhill from there, however, as White was picked off twice and the Jets fell in blowout fashion. Wilson was able to limp to the locker room under his own power, and the rookie second overall pick should regain the starting job as soon as he's healthy enough to do so. It remains to be seen whether Wilson or White will be under center against the Bengals in Week 8, but neither will be a recommended fantasy option given the Jets' struggles.
Sep 8, 2021
Healthy heading into Week 1
White (ribs) doesn't appear on the Jets' Wednesday injury report heading into the season opener against the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
White has recovered from the rib injury he sustained in preseason. If the Jets' backup is called into action due to rookie starter Zach Wilson getting injured or benched, it would be White's first regular-season NFL action.
Aug 31, 2021
Should land backup gig
White (ribs) is viewed as the clear favorite to secure the Jets' backup quarterback job as final cuts approach, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
White's a better short-term option than James Morgan, who's likely ticketed for the practice squad, and the Jets have released Josh Johnson, who didn't get any reps until after White suffered his rib injury. Johnson's release suggests the team is confident in White's health heading into the season, though the possibility of bringing in a more reliable backup option that gets cut by another team can't be ruled out.
Aug 21, 2021
Suffers rib injury Saturday
White suffered a rib injury during Saturday's preseason contest against the Packers, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
White was struck by Jack Heflin as he released a pass in the second half of Saturday's contest and did not return to the game. White signed a reserve contract with the Jets in January and is serving as the primary backup behind No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson. James Morgan and Josh Johnson will be the next men up if White has to miss the Jets' next preseason game against the Eagles on Aug. 27.
Jan 4, 2021
Secures future contract with Jets
The Jets signed White to a future contract Monday.
ANALYSIS
White was elevated to the Jets' active roster on more than one occasion over the latter half of the season, as starting quarterback Sam Darnold missed time with a right shoulder injury. The 25-year-old ultimately did not reach the field this season, keeping White without a game appearance since he entered the league as a fifth-round draft pick of the Cowboys in 2018.
Nov 24, 2020
Back with Jets' practice squad
White signed to the Jets' practice squad Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
White was waived from the active roster Monday, but he'll remain with the organization after going unclaimed on waivers. The 25-year old could be promoted again for Week 12 if Sam Darnold (shoulder) isn't a sure bet to be available.
Nov 23, 2020
Cut by Jets
White was waived by the Jets on Monday.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old was promoted from the practice squad Saturday for depth with Sam Darnold (shoulder) expected to be sidelined Week 11, but it was a brief stay on the active roster. White could rejoin the team's practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
Nov 21, 2020
Promoted from practice squad
White signed to the Jets' active roster from the practice squad Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old served in a backup role earlier this season when Sam Darnold (shoulder) was sidelined, and he's now back on the active roster. Darnold is doubtful to play Sunday, so White is back from the practice squad to provide depth behind Joe Flacco and James Morgan.
Nov 10, 2020
Shown door by Jets
The Jets waived White on Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
White was promoted from the practice squad to serve as Joe Flacco's backup during Monday's loss to the Patriots. With a bye week on tap for the Jets, White was let go. He has yet to play a game since being selected in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Nov 9, 2020
Receives promotion for MNF
The Jets promoted White from the practice squad for Monday's game against the Patriots, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
An indication of the lack of trust that the Jets have for rookie quarterback James Morgan, White will serve as Joe Flacco's backup for the divisional tilt with Sam Darnold (shoulder) sidelined. White, a 2018 fifth-round pick, has yet to make his NFL debut.
Oct 19, 2020
Returns to practice squad
White reverted to the Jets' practice squad, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
White was activated for Sunday's loss to the Dolphins but didn't end up taking the field. Should Sam Darnold (right shoulder) miss another week, White will likely be activated again as an emergency backup.
Oct 18, 2020
Promoted from practice squad
White was promoted to the Jets' active roster from the practice squad Saturday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
White has been elevated to the active roster as an extra player for the second straight game with Sam Darnold (shoulder) unlikely to suit up Sunday. Joe Flacco receives another start, and James Morgan should serve as the top backup option.
Oct 12, 2020
Sent back to practice squad
White was activated for the Jets' Week 5 loss to the Cardinals, but he has been reverted back to the team's practice squad after playing no snaps during the game, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
With starting quarterback Sam Darnold (shoulder) deemed inactive for Sunday's matchup against Arizona, the Jets were in need of QB depth behind Joe Flacco and James Morgan. Darnold's status for Week 6 remains uncertain after he participated in a throwing session Monday, meaning that White may once again be called upon during the Jets' approaching matchup against the Chargers.
Oct 11, 2020
Promoted for Week 5
White was promoted to the Jets' active roster from the practice squad Saturday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old signed with the practice squad at the start of the week and will serve as an extra player for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Starter Sam Darnold (shoulder) is out, but White is still unlikely to see the field with Joe Flacco and James Morgan already on the roster.
Oct 5, 2020
Joins Jets' practice squad
White signed to the Jets' practice squad Monday.
ANALYSIS
The 25-year-old will provide some extra quarterback depth with starter Sam Darnold's status in doubt after suffering a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder. Joe Flacco and James Morgan are already on the active roster, so it's unlikely White will receive a promotion without another injury to the quarterback group.
Oct 1, 2020
Cut by Jets
The Jets cut White on Thursday, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.
ANALYSIS
White's place with the Jets became jeopardized by Joe Flacco's return to full health. He could have a chance to resurface on the team's practice squad as an emergency quarterback option.
Sep 12, 2020
Heads to active roster
White was promoted to the Jets' active roster Saturday.
ANALYSIS
White beat out David Fales for a spot on the roster as the emergency quarterback and a promotion from the practice squad. So long as Joe Flacco (neck) remains out, White should have the chance to serve as the Jets' third quarterback.
Sep 6, 2020
Lands on practice squad
The Jets signed White to the practice squad Sunday, Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Jets also gave David Fales a spot on the practice squad, so White will continue to see competition for an emergency gig. He also spent the 2019 campaign developing on New York's practice squad.
