Won't play Week 10
Hobbs (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Eagles, Wes Hodklewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain during the Packers' Week 9 loss to the Panthers. Nov 6, 2025
Absent from practice
Hobbs (knee) did not participate at practice Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs was unable to practice to open the week, which comes as no surprise after head coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that the cornerback is expected to miss at least two games while recovering from a Grade 1 MCL sprain. In his absence, Carrington Valentine will continue to handle the lion's share of snaps opposite Keisean Nixon in Green Bay's secondary.
Nov 3, 2025
Diagnosed with MCL sprain
Head coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that Hobbs is expected to miss at least two games due to a Grade 1 MCL sprain, Ryan Woods of PackersNews.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The injury is not to the same knee that was surgically repaired during training camp, but Woods relays that Hobbs started to feel knee pain during the Packers' Week 4 tie against the Cowboys. He played just 21 snaps (19 on defense, two on special teams) during the Packers' 16-13 loss to the Panthers on Sunday, and further tests on the knee revealed a Grade 1 sprain that will keep the fifth-year corner out for at least two games, though the injury isn't severe enough to require surgery. With Hobbs sidelined for Weeks 10 and 11, his next opportunity to play will be Week 12 against the Vikings on Sunday, Nov. 23.
Oct 23, 2025
Logs full practice Thursday
Hobbs (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs was limited to open Week 8 prep due to a lingering knee injury, but his ability to practice Thursday indicates that he is on track to play against the Steelers on Sunday. Oct 22, 2025
Back on injury report
Hobbs (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs was a late addition to Green Bay's injury report due to a knee injury last Friday but was able to suit up against the Cardinals on Sunday. He ended up playing all of the Packers' defensive snaps in that game, finishing with six tackles. With that in mind, Hobbs' limited participation Wednesday may have been for maintenance reasons, though his status the remainder of the week should shed some light on whether he's at any risk of missing Sunday's matchup against Pittsburgh.
Oct 19, 2025
Good to go against Arizona
Hobbs (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs was a late addition to Friday's injury report due to a knee injury. He was listed as questionable heading into Week 7 but has been cleared to suit up after going through pregame warmups. Oct 17, 2025
Added to injury report

Oct 10, 2025
Iffy to play against Cincinnati
Hobbs (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Wes Hodklewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs is in the league's five-step concussion protocol, and he will have to be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to play in Sunday's home contest. Kamal Hadden would be in line for snaps in a rotational role at corner if Hobbs is not cleared to play.
Oct 8, 2025
In concussion protocol
Hobbs (concussion) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs was being evaluated for a concussion during the Packers' Week 4 tie to the Cowboys after taking a hit to the head during the second half of the contest. The 2021 fifth-rounder is in the league's five-step concussion protocol even after the Week 5 bye, so he will have to clear those steps in order to play against the Bengals on Sunday.
Sep 28, 2025
Being evaluated for concussion

ANALYSIS
Hobbs took a blow to the head in the second half versus Dallas, and his status for the remainder of the game is now up in the air. In his absence, Bo Melton and Carrington Valentine stand to see an increase in workload at cornerback.

He's slated to work in a rotational role behind Carrington Valentine, Keisean Nixon and Javon Bullard, though Hobbs could see the field more in defensive packages where the Packers deploy an additional defensive back.
Sep 11, 2025
Cleared to play Thursday
Hobbs (knee) is active for Thursday's game against Washington, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs has fully recovered from a knee procedure from early August, which prevented him from playing against the Lions in Week 1. The 2021 fifth-rounder signed a four-year, $48 million contract with the Packers in March and is expected to serve in a prominent role in the secondary alongside Carrington Valentine, Keisean Nixon, Evan Williams and Xavier McKinney. Sep 7, 2025
Won't play Week 1
Hobbs (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against Detroit, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs ended the week with back-to-back limited practices after being a DNP on Wednesday, but he has not progressed enough in his recovery from a knee injury to play Sunday. In his absence, Kamal Hadden and Bo Melton are the top candidates to start at outside corner opposite Keisean Nixon. Hobbs' next chance to see the field is Thursday against the Commanders.
Sep 5, 2025
Could play in Week 1
Hobbs (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Lions, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs upgraded from a DNP at Wednesday's practice to limited sessions Thursday and Friday, so it appears he's trending in the right direction ahead of Green Bay's regular-season opener. The first-year Packer appeared in 11 games for the Raiders in 2024, recording 49 total tackles and five passes defended, including one interception. If Hobbs can suit up Sunday, he's expected to start opposite Keisean Nixon, serving as part of the Packers' top outside cornerback duo.

Green Bay has taken a cautious approach to Hobbs' recovery from knee surgery to address a partially torn meniscus. Friday's official practice report will reveal Hobbs' injury designation, or lack thereof, for Week 1.
Sep 3, 2025
Doesn't practice Wednesday
Hobbs (knee) did not participate at practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs underwent surgery a couple weeks into training camp to address a partially torn meniscus, and his availability for Week 1 is now in jeopardy. He'll likely need to practice in some capacity Thursday or Friday to have any chance to play Sunday versus the Lions.
Aug 5, 2025
Undergoes Surgery
Hobbs underwent surgery on his knee Saturday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs' surgery will help repair a partially torn meniscus that was suffered in practice last week. He is expected to miss the remainder of the offseason with hopes of returning for the Packers' season opener Sept. 7. The 26-year-old has missed a total of 16 games in four years with Las Vegas. The fifth-year corner signed with Green Bay this offseason to start at cornerback alongside Keisean Nixon, should Hobbs stay healthy.
Aug 1, 2025
Battling knee injury
Hobbs (knee) did not practice Friday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The severity of the injury isn't clear, but Hobbs should be considered day-to-day for now. After spending the first four years of his career with the Raiders, Hobbs signed a four-year, $48 million deal with Green Bay back in March. He's expected to cover the slot for the Packers.

The 26-year-old started 38 of his 51 regular-season appearances with Las Vegas, including seven starts out of 11 games in 2024. With Jaire Alexander (knee) an apparent candidate to be traded, Hobbs is a key addition to what may be a revamped Packers secondary for 2025.

ANALYSIS
Hobbs was added to the injury report Friday after he logged a DNP in practice. If Hobbs cannot upgrade to at least limited participation Thursday or Friday, he'll likely miss his second consecutive game in the Week 12 matchup against the Broncos.
Nov 15, 2024
Ruled out for Week 11
Hobbs (ankle) did not practice Friday and has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Miami.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs was carted off the field due to an ankle injury in Week 8 against the Bengals. Even with the extra rest thanks to the Raiders' Week 10 bye, the 2021 fifth-round pick was unable to practice all week, and his next chance to play will be Week 12 against the Broncos on Sunday, Nov. 24. With Hobbs sidelined Sunday, Darnay Holmes and Decamerion Richardson are candidates to start at nickel corner.
Nov 13, 2024
Misses Wednesday's practice
Hobbs (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Illinois product was carted to the locker room after sustaining an ankle injury in Las Vegas' Week 9 loss to Cincinnati, so it's no surprise that he's missing Wednesday's practice. Oct 28, 2023
Could return against Detroit
Hobbs (ankle) is questionable for Monday's game against the Lions.
ANALYSIS

Oct 20, 2023
Set to miss another contest
Hobbs (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's Week 7 game in Chicago, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs has already missed three games due to an ankle injury, and he didn't practice at all this week before being ruled out for the fourth consecutive contest. Hobbs recorded six tackles (five solo) in Saturday's 13-10 loss to the Steelers.
ANALYSIS
While usual starting cornerback Rock Ya-Sin was once again unavailable in Week 16 due to a knee issue, Hobbs operated as the Raiders' No. 1 secondary option this past weekend in Pittsburgh and registered six stops in the process. Whether or not Ya-Sin is able to gain medical clearance for Las Vegas' matchup against the 49ers on New Year's Day, the second-year pro is slated to operate as an every-down contributor regardless.

Nov 23, 2022
Designated to return from IR
The Raiders designated Hobbs to return from injured reserve Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs landed on IR on Oct. 17 after fracturing his left hand in Week 5 against Kansas City. The Raiders now have three weeks to activate Hobbs, but he could play as soon as this Sunday in Seattle if the team feels he is ready to return.
Oct 17, 2022
Lands on IR
The Raiders placed Hobbs (hand) on the injured reserve Monday.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs will now be forced to sit out until at least Week 11 while recovering from a fractured left hand on IR. The 23-year-old sustained this injury during last Monday's loss to the Chiefs, though he was able to return and finish out the remainder of this contest with a cast on his left hand. Hobbs recorded 36 tackles, two passes defended, one sack and a forced fumble over five starts this season, and his absence will leave the Raiders with just three healthy cornerbacks between Rock Ya-Sin, Amik Robertson and Sam Webb.

Dealing with broken hand
Hobbs fractured his left hand during Monday's 30-29 loss to the Chiefs, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs did not initially emerge from Las Vegas' locker room to start the second half Monday, though he was eventually able to finish this contest with a club on his injured left hand. It's unclear if the starting cornerback will be able to continue playing through this injury, though he'll have an extra bye week to recover before the Raiders' next game Sunday, Oct. 23.

Returns for second half
Hobbs (thumb) returned with his hand in a cast during Monday's game against the Chiefs, Case Keefer of the Las Vegas Sun reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs will apparently play through whatever thumb issue kept him from lining up on Las Vegas' first defensive series of the second half. However, it will be worth monitoring the veteran's injury status following Monday's game.
Oct 10, 2022
Questionable to return
Hobbs is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Chiefs with a thumb injury.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs recorded six tackles in the first half of Monday's game, but he did not emerge from the Raiders' locker room to start the second half, according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic. With the starting cornerback out, Sam Webb and Amik Robertson figure to fill in opposite Rock Ya-Sin.

Cleared for Week 4
Hobbs doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's contest against the Broncos, Rachel Gossen of the Raiders' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs didn't practice Wednesday due to a concussion he suffered during the team's Week 3 loss to Tennessee, but he was upgraded to a limited participant Thursday and was full go Friday, putting him in line to play Sunday. Through three games, Hobbs has totaled 24 tackles and one pass defense while playing nearly every defensive snap.
Sep 28, 2022
Not practicing Wednesday
Hobbs (concussion) did not practice Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs suffered a concussion during Sunday's loss at Tennessee, and it appears the sophomore fifth-rounder will need at least a day or two more to recover before he's ready to get back onto the field. He won't be eligible to completely clear concussion protocol until Sunday, and if he's unable to play Week 4 versus Denver, Amik Robertson and Sam Webb would likely see most of the fill-in reps.

Lands in concussion protocol
Hobbs suffered a concussion during Sunday's contest against the Titans, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Hobbs lands in concussion protocols after not returning to the team's Week 2 loss due to a head injury. He'll have until next Sunday to clear protocols, but if he's sidelined for Week 3, Amik Robertson and Sam Webb would be candidates for increased roles against the Broncos.
Sep 25, 2022
Will not return
Hobbs (concussion) will not return Sunday against the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs left the game early to be evaluated for a concussion. His inability to return likely signals the cornerback failed the evaluation. In his absence, Amik Robertson and Sam Webb will likely see an increased role. If Hobbs did suffer a concussion, he'll need to clear protocols before suiting up in Week 4 against the Broncos.
Sep 21, 2022
11 tackles in loss
Hobbs notched 11 tackles (nine solo) during Sunday's 29-23 loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs was one of three Raiders to finish with at least 10 tackles. Through two games, the second-year cornerback has totaled 20 tackles (15 solo) one pass defense and one forced fumble. He'll look to continue his hot start against the Titans in Week 3.

Returns to practice
Hobbs (shoulder) has been participating in offseason work as the Raiders' starting nickelback, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs finished his rookie season with 71 tackles, three passes defensed, one sack and one interception across 16 games. The 2021 fifth-round pick underwent offseason shoulder surgery following his first NFL campaign, but he appears to have cleared rehab and should be healthy for the start of the regular season. Regardless, Hobbs may still face league discipline after being arrested twice during January, so his status as a starter is tentative.

Avoids DUI
Hobbs (shoulder) is no longer facing a DUI charge but did plead guilty to a careless driving charge Wednesday, ESPN's Paul Gutierrez reports.
ANALYSIS
He also has a reckless driving charge from a separate, more recent incident (Jan. 16), approximately two weeks after the first arrest. Hobbs won't get the guaranteed suspension that comes with a DUI, but he may still face league discipline of some kind. He's also recovering from shoulder surgery, after working as the Raiders' nickelback for most of his rookie campaign in 2021.
Jan 22, 2022
Undergoes back surgery
Hobbs (shoulder) underwent surgery Friday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs finished his rookie season in Las Vegas with 71 tackles (48) solo, one sack, three passes defensed and one interception across 16 games. The 22-year-old will now focus on his shoulder recovery and focus on the 2022 season.

Expected to play Week 18
Raiders interim head coach Rich Bissacia said he expects Hobbs to play in Sunday's game against the Chargers after the cornerback was arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge Monday in Las Vegas, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports. "Obviously, we take that extremely serious, organizationally and certainly within our team," Bisaccia said Wednesday. "So based on what we've learned, at this time, we expect Nate to play. It's a legal matter and other than that I have really nothing else and we'll leave it at that."
ANALYSIS
Bisaccia's comments suggest that the Raiders will leave it up to the NFL to decide whether Hobbs faces any punishment after the rookie fifth-round draft pick was found asleep in a vehicle parked on the exit ramp of a parking garage and then arrested after failing a field sobriety test. Hobbs' attorneys have since contested the DUI charge, so the league will presumably let the legal process play out before deciding whether Hobbs' actions warrant a fine and/or a suspension. The 22-year-old has enjoyed a strong debut campaign as the Raiders' nickel cornerback, tallying 67 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and a sack through 15 games.

Arrested on DUI charge
Hobbs was arrested early Monday in Las Vegas on a misdemeanor DUI charge, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports. In a statement, the Raiders said they are "aware of the incident involving Nate Hobbs," adding that, "the organization has been in communication with local law enforcement and is in the process of gathering more information."
ANALYSIS
Hobbs was taken into policy custody after he failed a field sobriety test, which was administered after officers found him asleep in a car parked on the exit ramp of a parking garage. The fifth-round rookie cornerback has appeared in 15 games for Las Vegas this season, recording 67 tackles and an interception.

Returns from COVID list
Hobbs was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs will return from a one-game absence Sunday against the Broncos. The rookie should resume his starting role opposite of Casey Hayward at corner in the Raiders' secondary.
Dec 20, 2021
Lands on COVID list
Hobbs (undisclosed) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs played 91 percent of the defensive snaps last week but will be sidelined for Monday's game against the Browns, which was originally scheduled for Saturday. Desmond Trufant and Brandon Facyson should see increased run in the secondary for the Raiders in his absence.
Dec 6, 2021
First career interception
Hobbs recorded nine tackles (four solo) and an interception in Sunday's 17-15 loss to Washington.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs picked off Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke in the fourth quarter, marking the former's first career interception on a deep pass intended for Terry McLaurin. Hobbs is averaging five tackles per game as a rookie, and he should continue to earn a substantial defensive snap share against the Chiefs in Week 14.
Oct 6, 2021
Records full practice Wednesday
Hobbs (head) was listed as a full participant in the Raiders' practice Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs injured his head during Monday's loss to the Chargers and was evaluated for a concussion. Luckily for Las Vegas, the cornerback did not suffer a concussion, but they did lose corners Damon Arnette (groin) and Trayvon Mullen (foot) to injuries during Monday's contest. With Hobbs fully practicing Wednesday, he could be in line for a big role Sunday if Mullen and Arnette can't suit up against the Bears.
Oct 4, 2021
Suffers head injury
Hobbs suffered a head injury during Monday's game against the Chargers and is being evaluated for a concussion, Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs is one of three Raider cornerbacks who suffered injuries during Monday's matchup. Damon Arnette (groin) and Trayvon Mullen (foot) also went down in the loss.
Aug 15, 2021
Could start Week 1
Hobbs recorded two tackles, including a strip sack, in Saturday's 20-7 preseason win over the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs, who was a four-year starter at Illinois before being selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by Las Vegas, is looking like the favorite to open the Raiders' regular season as the starter at nickle cornerback while veteran Nevin Lawson serves a two-game suspension. Hobbs drew the following praise from coach Jon Gruden this weekend, "There's certain guys that bring juice; they bring something to the game that others, you just can't explain it, he's into it all the time," Jesse Merrick of News3LV.com reports.
