Healthy again for OTAs
Fashanu (foot) has been participating in the Jets' offseason training activities.
ANALYSIS
Fashanu's rookie 2024 season ended early due to a foot injury he suffered in Week 16. The issue didn't require surgery, and Fashanu appears to be back to full health as he prepares for a likely starting role at left tackle in the upcoming campaign.

Placed on injured reserve
The Jets placed Fashanu (foot) on injured reserve Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The No. 11 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft made his NFL regular-season debut at right tackle in Week 3 against the Patriots. Fashanu remained at that position for the following two games, and after reverting to a reserve role, he ended up starting at left tackle in each of the Jets' last five games due to Tyron Smith (neck) being placed on injured reserve in November. The Jets faced multiple injuries to its offensive line, and Fashanu showed his versatility when he played 37 snaps at right guard in Week 9 against the Texans. Fashanu will end 2024 on IR due to a foot injury he suffered against the Rams this past Sunday, but he won't require surgery and should be fully healthy for the start of training camp. Max Mitchell is the top candidate to take over at left tackle for the final two games of the regular season due to Fashanu's injury.

Out for season with foot injury
Jets interim head Jeff Ulbrich said Fashanu (foot) is dealing with a plantar fascia injury and will be placed on injured reserve, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The Penn State product was a first-round pick by the Jets in the 2024 NFL Draft and enjoyed a strong rookie season, emerging as a starter at left tackle after Tyron Smith suffered a neck injury in November. Max Mitchell will likely take over as a starter with Fashanu now set to be sidelined for the Jets' final two games. Ulbrich added that Fashanu won't require surgery on his foot and is expected to make a full recovery in advance of the Jets' offseason program.

Gets green light
Fashanu (toe) is good to go for Sunday's game in Miami, Randy Lange of the team's official website reports.
ANALYSIS
Fashanu injured his toe in last week's loss to the Seahawks. However, it looks like the injury is not severe enough to keep the rookie sidelined in Week 13. As a result, look for the first-round pick to take on his usual workload.

Questionable for Week 14
Fashanu (toe) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Dolphins.
ANALYSIS
Fashanu, a 2024 first-round pick from Penn State, appears to have sustained a toe injury in the Jets' Week 13 loss to the Seahawks that's put his availability Sunday in jeopardy. The 22-year-old practiced in a limited fashion throughout the week, but if he can't play through the issue in Week 14, expect Max Mitchell or Carter Warren to start at left tackle.

Practicing in full
Fashanu was a full participant during OTAs on Tuesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Fashanu had been recovering from strained quadriceps he sustained while running the 40-yard dash at the combine, but he's now back up to full speed. The Jets will probably want to find a way to get him involved early and often this season after using the 11th overall pick to acquire him in the draft.

Recovering from quad injury
Fashanu strained his quadriceps while running the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and could miss some or all of OTAs due to the injury, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rosenblatt described the injury as minor, so Fashanu should be recovered well before the start of the regular season, but the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft may not be ready to join his new teammates at the start of offseason workouts. The offensive tackle out of Penn State has been working off to the side with trainers during the Jets' rookie minicamp.
