A recovery timeline of 4-6 weeks was reported shortly thereafter, putting Brown in serious doubt for the Week 1 rematch of last season's AFC Championship Game.

Mahomes played the first two drives of the preseason game, with most of the Chiefs first-string offense playing with him. The absence of Marquise Brown (sternoclavicular) allowed Mahomes to work extensively with first-round pick rookie Xavier Worthy, who drew five of Mahomes' targets (though Worthy's 39-yard touchdown would later occur with Carson Wentz at quarterback). Mahomes even made waves by completing a behind-the-back screen pass to Travis Kelce for eight yards. Mahomes is likely the top player in the NFL and doesn't need new tricks to dominate, but apparently he's been working on some anyway.

Mahomes and other starters are scheduled to play the first half of Saturday's preseason game against Detroit, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.

Per usual, the Chiefs are at the front of the pack when it comes to preseason playing time for starters. It's worked out more than alright for them in recent years, but fantasy managers that have already drafted Mahomes presumably aren't thrilled to see the multi-year trend continue. The expectation of considerable playing time makes KC's QB1 a viable choice for preseason DFS contests.

Mahomes got things cooking early with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Travis Kelce on the Chiefs' opening drive Sunday. It would be the only trip to the end zone for the superstar duo in a playoff matchup that was decided by Kansas City's defense. Mahomes did his part by completing 77 percent of his passes and going 8-for-18 on third-down attempts. The two-time Super Bowl champion has his sights set on a third Lombardi Trophy when the Chiefs take on the winner of Sunday's NFC Championship Game in Las Vegas on Sun. Feb. 11.

Mahomes had a mediocre stat line, which was held back by the Chiefs' struggles in the end zone. Of six trips inside the 20, Kansas City scored a touchdown only twice, with the first coming on an 11-yard completion to Rashee Rice. Mahomes was also only moderately efficient as a passer, averaging 6.4 yards per attempt. Nevertheless, he kept the offense moving throughout the game in difficult wintry conditions and completed six passes of at least 20 yards -- his highest mark since Week 7. The Chiefs will roll into the divisional round, though it is currently unclear who the team will face or where the game will be played.

Other than that error, he had a positive performance, as he was able to push the ball down the field by tallying four completions of at least 20 yards -- only the second time he's reached that mark in his last nine games. Kansas City was missing left tackle Donovan Smith (neck) once again, and the Las Vegas pass rush gave Mahomes fits. The quarterback wound up leading his team in rushing, and with his protection focused on containing Maxx Crosby, Malcolm Koonce sacked Mahomes three times. The need to get the ball out of his hands quickly also played directly into his second-quarter INT, which got returned for a pick-six by Jack Jones. Mahomes did find Justin Watson for a TD in the fourth as Kansas City tried to mount a comeback, but it was still another disappointing showing from the two-time MVP, who has thrown only one score in three of the last four games. With his team still needing a win to clinch its eighth straight AFC West title, Mahomes will look to rebound in Week 17 against the Bengals.

Kansas City was down 14-10 at halftime, but Mahomes shifted into high gear in the third quarter, leading his team on three scoring drives that included a six-yard TD pass to Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Neither pick can be blamed on Mahomes, either -- one was a result of a bobbled pass by Kadarius Toney, while the other saw rookie linebacker Marte Mapu rip the ball away from Noah Gray. It's only the fourth time this season Mahomes has thrown for more than 300 yards, and the first since Week 7. He'll look to produce big numbers again in Week 16 against a Raiders defense he racked up 298 yards and two TDs against in their first meeting this year.

Mahomes did hit Rashee Rice for a four-yard score in the third quarter, but for the second straight game the QB was held to just one TD pass -- the first time since Weeks 12-13 of last season that Mahomes has gone consecutive contests without throwing multiple touchdowns. His longest such streak is three games, set back in 2019, and he'll look to avoid matching it in Week 15 against the Patriots.

His volume picked up across the final two quarters as Kansas City tried to catch up on the scoreboard, though the end result was uninspiring. Mahomes has now averaged under seven yards per attempt in four of his last five games, and he's failed to record multiple touchdowns in two of those five contests. He also threw a key interception late in the fourth quarter, uncharacteristically putting the team in a bad position in their comeback efforts. Mahomes will look to bounce back in a pivotal Week 14 matchup against Buffalo.

Mahomes actually got off to a slow start despite finishing with a nearly-flawless passing line. Kansas City ran just three plays on offense in the first quarter and did not convert a first down until its third possession Sunday. That's around when Mahomes woke up and went on a furious tear that produced three consecutive touchdown drives in just under 12 minutes of game time. The 28-year-old has now thrown multiple touchdowns in three straight games after hitting a bit of a rough patch mid season. It was also the star QB's first game without a turnover since Week 3 against Chicago. Mahomes will face a stiffer test on the road against the Packers next Sunday, but the Chiefs' offense appears to be back on track as we inch closer to the playoffs.

Mahomes' final line would have been appreciably different had Marquez Valdes-Scantling not failed to bring in a perfectly thrown bomb on a post pattern with 1:50 remaining which would have likely sealed a victory for Kansas City. As it was, Mahomes was surprisingly limited throughout the night by an Eagles defense that had trouble defending the pass most of the season, averaging a season-low 4.1 yards per attempt on his way to a season-worst yardage total. Mahomes did connect with Justin Watson and Travis Kelce for three- and four-yard scoring tosses in the first half, giving the talented signal-caller multiple his seventh multi-touchdown tally of the campaign. Mahomes will now turn his sights to a Week 12 divisional road battle against a Raiders team playing much more inspired football under interim head coach Antonio Pierce.

It was also the first time this season that the superstar quarterback was held without a touchdown. The silver lining for fantasy managers is that the last time Mahomes threw multiple interceptions in a game this season (Week 4 vs. NYJ), he bounced back by completing 76 percent of his passes the following week against Minnesota. Mahomes will attempt to repeat that sequence as Kansas City prepares to head overseas to face the Dolphins in London next Sunday.

Schefter indicates that it appears as though the QB avoided any other issues with his right ankle beyond the reported high-ankle sprain, while Mahomes has noted that he plans to play in next Sunday's AFC Championship game. That said, we'd expect the signal-caller's practice reps to be managed in the days ahead and chances are, Mahomes will carry an official designation on Kansas City's final injury report this coming Friday.

Mahomes completed 36 of 41 passes for 336 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Chiefs' 30-24 overtime victory over the Texans on Sunday. He also five times for 33 yards and another score, threw a two-point conversion pass and fumbled once but recovered.

Mahomes' near-perfect afternoon ironically came during a surprising game-long struggle for the Chiefs, who were gunning for their seventh straight AFC West title. Kansas City was ultimately able to accomplish the feat with key contributions from multiple players, with Mahomes connecting most often with Travis Kelce and JuJu Smith-Schuster. The star signal-caller tossed both of his scoring throws in the second quarter, connecting with Jerick McKinnon and Marquez Valdes-Scantling from 20 and four yards out, respectively. Mahomes then scored a critical rushing touchdown from five yards out early in the fourth quarter to give the Chiefs, which when paired with his two-point conversion pass to McKinnon, gave KC a three-point lead at the time. With the division title now secured, Mahomes will look to keep his now-11-win squad in contention for top playoff positioning during a Week 16 home battle against the Seahawks on Saturday afternoon.

Jerick McKinnon was surprisingly his biggest weapon, catching back-to-back TDs in the second quarter en route to Mahomes' seventh game this season with three or more touchdown passes. Expect him to be productive again in Week 15 against a Texans defense that just gave Dak Prescott a little trouble before giving up a 98-yard game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter.

Mahomes (foot) was a full practice participant Wednesday.

The foot bruise he picked up in Sunday's loss to Cincinnati shouldn't be an issue for the upcoming matchup with Denver. Mahomes will be without WR Mecole Hardman (abdomen) for at least one more week, while WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday as a limited participant.

Mahomes relayed Wednesday that he suffered a foot bruise on his final play against the Bengals this past Sunday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

That said, Mahomes indicates that he feels fine and the issue shouldn't bother him as this weekend's game against the Broncos approaches. Kansas City wasn't able to pull away until the second half, but Mahomes still reeled off his sixth straight game with over 300 passing yards and once again hit Travis Kelce for another TD. Mahomes has already topped 3,500 passing yards on the season as he takes aim at Peyton Manning's NFL record of 5,477, and he could need to produce more fireworks in Week 13 in a showdown with Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

Mahomes completed 20 of 34 pass attempts for 329 yards and three touchdowns while adding 23 rushing yards on four attempts in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Chargers.

Mahomes was in rare form against a talented Chargers secondary despite missing top wideouts JuJu Smith-Schuster (concussion) and Mecole Hardman (abdomen). He also lost fill-in starter Kadarius Toney early in the contest to a hamstring injury, which makes Mahomes' robust stat line even more impressive all things considered. Mahomes fortunately did not lose the services of Travis Kelce, as the dynamic duo connected for three more scores in an already dominant campaign. The 27-year-old has not experienced any sort of dip in production sans Tyreek Hill in 2022, boasting 10-game totals of 3,265 passing yards and 28 touchdowns that are right on par with his dominant career norms. Mahomes and the Chiefs will take on a reeling Rams squad next Sunday.

Mahomes completed 26 of 35 passes for 331 yards with four touchdowns and one interception in the Chiefs' 27-17 win over the Jaguars on Sunday. He also rushed seven times for 39 yards and fumbled once but recovered.

Mahomes worked through the early exit of JuJu Smith-Schuster (head) without much issue, pivoting to targeting Travis Kelce, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, versatile running back Jerick McKinnon and newcomer Kadarius Toney with plenty of success. Mahomes connected with Toney (six yards), Valdes-Scantling (18 yards), Noah Gray (13 yards) and Kelce (seven yards) for his scoring tosses, and he'll head into a Week 11 divisional road clash against the Chargers next Sunday night having thrown multiple touchdown passes in five of his last six games.

Mahomes completed 43 of 68 pass attempts for 446 yards, a touchdown and an interception while adding 63 rushing yards and another score on six attempts in Sunday's 20-17 overtime win over the Titans.

Mahomes faced a stiff test in the form of a physical Titans defense, and he was up for the challenge despite a slow start for the entire offense. The superstar quarterback did everything but catch his own passes, resulting in over 500 yards yards of offense for pleased fantasy managers. Even the interception can't be blamed on Mahomes, as the usually sure-handed Travis Kelce bobbled a short pass into a waiting defender's hands. The 26-year-old stole the show down the stretch with two impressive scrambles to extend drives and send the game into overtime. All in all, it was another dominant performance from one of the game's top players. Mahomes and the Chiefs will face the Jaguars next Sunday.

Mahomes was impeccable against a San Francisco squad that had all of its key defensive players back in action. The superstar quarterback's lone blemish was an interception off of a deflection in the second quarter. Mahomes new season highs in passing yards (423) and yards per attempt (12.4) with Sunday's masterful performance. The 26-year-old heads into Kansas City's bye week with 2,159 passing yards and a 20:4 TD:INT ratio through seven games. Mahomes and the Chiefs will resume action Nov. 6 against the Titans.

Mahomes completed 25 of 40 passes for 338 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Bills. He added 21 rushing yards on four carries.

It was another back-and-forth battle between the two AFC powerhouses, but after Josh Allen led a TD drive and left just one a minute on the clock in the fourth quarter, Mahomes wasn't able to answer back, instead throwing his second INT of the afternoon. The superstar QB had only been picked off twice through five games coming into Sunday, and he's tossed multiple TDs in five of six games so far in 2022. Mahomes will look to be sharper, and get back in the win column, in a Week 7 clash with the 49ers.

Mahomes started slowly, as he had only 98 yards and a touchdown across the first two quarters of the game. However, he led the Chiefs' comeback effort by connecting with Travis Kelce on each of his four touchdowns and also delivered long passes of 36 and 28 yards to Mecole Hardman. It was another impressive performance for Mahomes, who now has at least three touchdowns in three of five games this season.

Mahomes completed 23 of 37 pass attempts for 249 yards, three touchdowns and an interception while adding 34 rushing yards on four carries in a 41-31 win over Tampa Bay.

Mahomes and the entire Kansas City offense were nearly flawless on the road against one of the league's top defensive units entering Week 4. The only drawbacks from a fantasy perspective were the lack of yardage -- due to a constant positive field position advantage from the special teams unit -- and the one interception thrown late in the fourth quarter. The superstar quarterback otherwise looked unbothered by a defense that held Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to 14 points last week. Mahomes just endured a brutal three-week stretch of opposing defenses, so his fantasy GMs will be relieved to see a soft matchup at home against the Raiders next Monday.

Mahomes completed 20 of 35 passes for 262 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Chiefs' 20-17 loss to the Colts on Sunday. He also rushed four times for 26 yards.

The star signal-caller was unable to work his magic Sunday against a desperate Colts team looking for its first win. Mahomes did display some good rapport with his top two wideouts in JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, hitting the duo on nine occasions for 137 yards on 15 targets. Mahomes also connected with Travis Kelce for his one touchdown pass from three yards out late in the first quarter. However, Mahomes was directly responsible for short-circuiting his team's final chance at a win, as his final pass of the day, intended for Smith-Schuster, was picked off by Rodney McLeod at the Colts' 36-yard line with two seconds remaining. Mahomes will look to regroup in time for a Week 4 road showdown against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.

Mahomes completed 24 of 35 passes for 235 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and rushed twice for minus-1 yard in the Chiefs' 27-24 win over the Chargers on Thursday night.

Mahomes' yardage total left plenty to be desired from a fantasy standpoint, particularly after his breakout 360-yard Week 1 effort. However, the star signal-caller turned in a solid performance in which he managed to avoid turnovers while completing his pair of scoring tosses to the unlikely duo of Jerick McKinnon and Justin Watson, the latter on a beautiful 41-yard throw across the middle on the run in the third quarter. Mahomes recorded completions to nine different targets overall, and his impeccable ball security was key to allowing the Chiefs to mount a comeback from a 17-7 deficit. Mahomes and his teammates now get some extra time off before a Week 3 road showdown with the Colts a week from Sunday.

Mahomes (wrist) said Tuesday that he was a little sore following Sunday's win over the Cardinals, but he feels a lot better, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.

Mahomes injured his left wrist early in Sunday's contest and had it significantly taped up, per Sweeney. However, it didn't appear to hinder his play as he completed 30 of 39 passes for 360 yards and five touchdowns during the blowout win. The issue flared up again Monday, so he received treatment and is already feeling better. "I'm sure I'll be good to go this week," Mahomes said. By all accounts, the issue doesn't appear significant, but it's still worth monitoring with the Chiefs having a short turnaround leading into Thursday's matchup with the Chargers.

Mahomes completed 30 of 39 passes for 360 yards and five touchdowns in Sunday's 44-21 win over the Cardinals. He also added five yards on three carries.

The franchise quarterback made it clear very quickly the Kansas City offense would be just fine without Tyreek Hill. Mahomes set a new personal record by completing 12 straight passes at one point, and he found nine different receivers over the course of the game. The 26-year-old remains nearly perfect in Week 1 contests -- in five season openers during his career so far, he's completed 72.5 percent of his passes while averaging 308.4 yards and compiling an incredible 18:0 TD:INT. Mahomes did injure his left wrist while being tackled on his first TD pass on the day, but he played the rest of the game with his wrist wrapped and the injury doesn't appear to be a serious one. Per Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com, he'll undergo testing on his wrist before Kansas City begins prepping for its Thursday clash with the Chargers in Week 2.

Mahomes completed 12 of 19 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's 24-14 preseason win over Washington.

Mahomes played only two possessions but was dominant while in the game, capping them with touchdown passes of five and seven yards, both to Jody Fortson. The superstar quarterback looks like he's in midseason form, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Mahomes get the night off for Kansas City's preseason finale Thursday against the Packers.

While backup QB Chad Henne isn't in line to play in the contest, coach Andy Reid indicated that the Chiefs' starters could play as much as the first half on Saturday. Mahomes is thus in line to be followed in the contest by Shane Buechele and Dustin Crum.

Mahomes went 6-for-7 for 60 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason opener against the Bears.

Mahomes only got one possession in his first tune-up game, but it could hardly have gone much better. He marched his team down the field before tossing a five-yard touchdown pass to Blake Bell. It's possible he'll remain in the game longer next week against Washington.

With Mahomes having evidently avoided any injury of note, the star signal caller will look to continue building his rapport with Kansas City's re-tooled wide receiver corps, which features JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mecole Hardman, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Skyy Moore. With former top wideout Tyreek Hill now with the Dolphins, there are targets up for grabs in the team's passing game, but however they are allocated, Mahomes will no doubt benefit from the continued presence of clear-cut top end Travis Kelce.

In the wake of the move, Kansas City's wide receiver corps is currently headed by JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman, with Josh Gordon, Justin Watson, Cornell Powell, Gehrig Dieter and Corey Coleman also in the mix. That said, the Chiefs are destined to add depth at the position, via free agency and the draft. Either way though, losing a proven target and playmaker like Hill isn't optimal with regard to Mahomes' fantasy upside, at least until there's added clarity with regard to Kansas City's wideout pecking order once the dust settles this offseason.

Mahomes scored an eight-yard rushing touchdown and threw a two-yard score to Byron Pringle in the first half. After a quiet third quarter, Mahomes turned it on as the Bills and Chiefs traded leads down the stretch. A 64-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill put the Chiefs up 33-29 with 1:02 remaining, but the Bills retook the lead with 13 seconds remaining, only for Mahomes to complete two passes for 44 yards, setting up Harrison Butker's game-tying 49-yard field goal. Kansas City marched down the field after winning the toss in overtime, with Mahomes' eight-yard touchdown pass to Travis Kelce sending the Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game against the Bengals.

Mahomes had about as flawless of a playoff debut as you could envision as the Chiefs made easy work of the Steelers in the wild-card round. The 26-year-old looked like his 2019 Super Bowl MVP former self, slinging dots at all three pass depths en route to a gaudy stat line. The Chiefs will advance to the AFC divisional round to face Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, in what is shaping up to be a treat for all football fans next week. The Bills boast one of the league's best overall defenses and arguably the best coverage safety duo in the league. That being said, the Steelers also presented a tough matchup on paper for Mahomes, but he was able to slice through their unit like Swiss cheese.

Mahomes completed 27 of 44 pass attempts for 270 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday's 28-24 win over the Broncos. He also rushed the ball nine time for 54 yards.

Mahomes played the majority of the game without Tyreek Hill (heel), though he still managed to move the ball effectively. He showed particular rapport with Mecole Hardman, as the duo connected on gains of 44 and 21 yards. Meanwhile, Mahomes threw for multiple touchdowns for the fifth consecutive game, finding Travis Kelce for a three-yard score and Jerick McKinnon from 14 yards away. To round out his line, Mahomes topped 50 yards on the ground for only the second time this season. Though Mahomes hasn't topped 300 passing yards in six of his last seven starts, he will lead Kansas City into the playoffs with plenty of confidence after his solid showing.

The performance was an especially timely one for Mahomes considering the context of the fantasy playoffs, especially when factoring in he'd disappointed in multiple games since Week 6. The stellar all-around night gives Mahomes plenty of momentum heading into a Week 16 home matchup against the Steelers a week from Sunday.

It has undoubtedly been a rough first half of the season for the 25-year-old, but this is the kind of confidence-boosting performance that his fantasy managers have been patiently waiting for. Mahomes and the Chiefs will take on the Cowboys next Sunday in what could be a high-scoring affair between offenses that rediscovered their grooves this week.

For the third week in a row, Mahomes had a favorable matchup but averaged under six yards per pass attempt and failed to score multiple touchdowns. Even before this brutal three-game stretch Mahomes had more turnovers (five) than touchdowns (four) in Weeks 5 and 6, so he's been struggling for five weeks now. Mahomes is clearly too good of a quarterback -- and players like Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce too good as pass catchers -- for these struggles to last forever, but it's alarming that it has taken this long to sort out their struggles. An adjustment of some kind in the Kansas City offense might be necessary, and if so they better figure it out before they face the Raiders on Sunday Night Football in Week 10.

The young phenom could be involved in his third consecutive shootout in a divisional matchup against Justin Herbert and the Chargers on Sunday.

Mahomes completed 27 of 36 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns while adding 18 rushing yards and a TD on five carries in Sunday's 33-29 win over the Browns.

The 25-year-old superstar has never lost in September in his career, but that streak looked to be in jeopardy when Cleveland took a 22-10 lead into halftime. In fact, Kansas City didn't pull ahead until early in the fourth quarter, when Mahomes hit Tyreek Hill for a 75-yard TD on a one-play drive. Mahomes will face another tough defense in Baltimore in Week 2, but he's proven he can put up big numbers against any opponent.

In any case, Reid's general plan is to play starters in the first quarter, second-stringers in the second quarter, third-stingers in the third quarter and everyone else in the fourth.

This was expected after Mahomes participated in spring practices. The toe/foot that bothered him at the end of last season is no longer an issue, nor is the rash of injuries that plagued Kansas City's offensive line during the Super Bowl. The team lost longtime starting tackles Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz in the offseason, but then made up for it by signing LG Joe Thuney and trading for LT Orlando Brown. The Chiefs even get Laurent Duvernay-Tardif back from the COVID-19 list, so when all is said and done, their O-line could be better than it was last year. At the skill positions, their offense looks much the same as 2020, minus injury-prone wideout Sammy Watkins (now with the Ravens). As always, Mahomes is set up for success.

Mahomes may therefore be sidelined as KC aims to keep the star quarterback healthy for another run at the Lombardi Trophy.

The 25-year-old phenom has only had two games this season in which he was limited to single-digit scores, and both of those have come against the sub-.500 Broncos. Denver's defense is no pushover, but Mahomes has seemed to dismantle any top-tier defensive unit put in his way. The good news for the signal caller's managers is that the Chiefs won't have to face the Broncos again this fantasy season. Next week's opponent, the Miami Dolphins, are no pushovers defensively either, but Mahomes is about as "must-start" as they come these days.

Moreover, he'll head into a Week 13 Sunday night divisional battle against the Broncos with a four-game multi-touchdown streak in tow as well.

The 25-year-old's supernatural ability to throw the ball across his body with an off-balanced stance to avoid would-be tacklers was put on display on a multitude of occasions, almost always resulting in the ball hitting his receiver in the hands for big chunk gains. The only noticeable blemish was a red-zone interception that was likely the result of Demarcus Robinson breaking the wrong direction on what should have been an out pattern. Mahomes capped off another clutch victory with a two-minute drill to put his squad up for good against a formidable Oakland team. The stellar outing put the signal caller above the 3,000-yard mark for the year. Next up for Mahomes and the Chiefs is a showdown between potential MVP candidates when they travel to Tampa Bay to face Tom Brady and the Buccaneer

Mahomes completed 30 of 45 passes for 372 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Chiefs' 33-31 win over the Panthers on Sunday. He also rushed twice for no gain.

The Panthers, which got Christian McCaffrey (ankle) back in action Sunday, gave the Chiefs a lot more trouble than many would have anticipated, which forced coach Andy Reid to keep his foot on the gas. That paid off for Mahomes, wo was able to eclipse the 300-yard mark for the fifth time this season and throw at least four scoring passes for the second time in as many weeks. Mahomes helped Kansas City overcome an early 14-3 deficit with a one-yard touchdown toss to DeMarcus Robinson, and he came alive in the second half by hitting paydirt with Clyde Edwards-Helaire on one occasion and Tyreek Hill in two other instances to complete the comeback. Mahomes will look to forge together a third straight prolific effort in an AFC West showdown against the Raiders in Week 10.

That hot start was only the tip of the iceberg for the superstar quarterback, who added touchdowns to Travis Kelce (three yards), Demarcus Robinson (26) and Hill again (41) before handing off to backup Chad Henne for mop-up duty. Mahomes matched his passing touchdown total from the previous three games combined while throwing more than two touchdowns for only the third time this season. He's capable of heating up in a hurry, though, and will look to build on this effort in Week 9 against the Panthers.

Thanks to a powerful Chiefs running game, as well as a defense that ranks No. 2 in takeaways (13), Mahomes ended the month of October exceeding 30 pass attempts in just one of four games. Though he was efficient on those opportunities with a 63.6 percent completion rate and a 7:1 TD:INT, the mold of Kansas City's team has altered in a way that he isn't currently being asked to put up gaudy numbers weekly. He may do so anyway in Week 8, taking on the winless Jets at Arrowhead Stadium.

Mahomes completed 21 of 26 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's 26-17 win over the Bills. He also rushed 10 times for 36 yards.

Mahomes dealt with constant rain during Monday's game, yet only failed to connect on a handful of his passes. Although the conditions contributed toward a season low in attempts, so too did tailback Clyde Edwards-Helaire's success on the ground, as the rookie went for 161 yards on 26 carries. While Mahomes also chipped in with his first double-digit carry total this term, the quarterback still found tight end Travis Kelce for a pair of touchdown tosses. In doing so, Mahomes brought his season tally to 15 TD passes versus just one interception, getting the Chiefs back in the win column as they'll now prepare for Sunday's game at the Broncos.

Mahomes completed 22 of 43 passes for 340 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Chiefs' 40-32 loss to the Raiders on Sunday. He also rushed six times for 21 yards and another score.

Mahomes struggled with his completion rate as the game wore on, with the Raiders doing a very good job overall against the quarterback's high-powered collection of weapons. Mahomes did lose Sammy Watkins to a hamstring injury during the contest and also saw a first-quarter touchdown to Tyreek Hill called back due to penalty. Ultimately, the fact he was unexpectedly put in the trail position helped Mahomes eclipse the 300-yard mark for the third time in the last four games. The 2018 NFL MVP also has multiple passing touchdowns in each game and will look to help Kansas City atone for the surprising divisional loss in a Week 6 Monday evening road matchup against the Bills.

Mahomes completed 19 of 29 passes for 236 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 26-10 win over the Patriots. He also rushed eight times for 28 yards.

Mahomes didn't light up the box score like usual, but he still managed a couple scores against the well-coached New England defense. However, neither of the quarterback's touchdown tosses actually traveled past the line of scrimmage, as both were six-yard, shovel-style scores in the second half. To his credit, though, Mahomes also made an impact on the ground, boosting his production overall. While it wasn't a vintage performance from Mahomes, he'll still be pleased by maintaining his team's unbeaten record and his turnover-free start. That would mean the contest still constitutes as a Week 4 matchup. There is a precedent set regarding games occurring after a player tested positive as Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell was moved to the COVID-19/reserve list last week Saturday, yet the game still took place after players were thoroughly tested based on NFL guidelines.

The quarterback started by scampering in from three yards on the ground, then threw an underhand shovel pass to fullback Anthony Sherman for his second score. For his next acts, Mahomes connected with speedy wideouts Tyreke Hill and Mecole Hardman on superb touchdown tosses prior to halftime, showing his signature arm strength and touch. To cap things off, the reigning Super Bowl MVP found his starting left tackle, Eric Fisher, of all people for a two-yard exclamation point on the night. Through three games, Mahomes now sports nine passing touchdowns versus zero interceptions, which along with Monday's win puts him in great standing ahead of another AFC showdown versus the Patriots in Week 4.

Mahomes got off to an extremely slow start as the typically prolific Chiefs offense was stopped on four of five possessions in the first half. He turned it up a notch in the second half and helped his team draw level with a 54-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill in the fourth quarter. Mahomes then led a methodical 13-play drive in overtime to set up the winning field goal, completing crucial passes to Hill and Clyde Edwards-Helaire to set it up. The superstar signal caller now has five touchdowns and 513 yards with no interceptions through two games and will look to continue his excellent start next Monday night in a tough matchup with the Ravens.

In what may be a harbinger of a more run-heavy offense this season, Andy Reid opted to give rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire a robust 25 carries in his NFL debut, but Mahomes still found a way to reward fantasy managers by firing a trio of passing scores to Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins and Tyreek Hill. The prolific gunslinger and his teammates will now have extended time to gear up for a Week 2 divisional showdown against the Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 20.
