Rashid Shaheed Injury News & Updates
Keep up with the latest injuries from the Seahawks vs Titans game on Sunday with our National Football League injury report.Nov 16, 2025
Another quiet game in Week 11 loss
Shaheed caught two of five targets for 27 yards in the Seahawks' 21-19 loss to the Rams on Sunday. He added one rushing attempt for two yards.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed ran as the Seahawks' third wideout behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp. Through two games with his new team, Shaheed has managed just three catches for 30 scoreless yards on six targets. He and Sam Darnold are undoubtedly still working on their timing, and it could take a couple weeks to get on the same page. Shaheed gets a plus Week 12 draw against the Titans next Sunday, but he classifies as a low-floor, high-ceiling WR4 fantasy bet.
Nov 9, 2025
Shaky debut with new club
Shaheed finished with one reception on as many targets for three yards while adding 20 rushing yards on two attempts in Sunday's 44-22 win over the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
It was a shaky debut for Shaheed after being dealt to Seattle at last week's trade deadline. It could have been a worst outing with his new club had a teammate not recovered a fumble on one of the receiver's three touches on offense. The low volume is concerning, but it is worth noting that the Seahawks attempted just 12 passes in Sunday's blowout victory. Players also need time to get fully integrated into a new offensive system, so managers should not overreact to the dud in the box score. Shaheed averaged 7.3 targets prior to the trade as New Orleans' No. 2 receiver, so expect more looks to come his way against the Rams next Sunday as he settles as the No. 2 option for Seattle.
Nov 9, 2025
Set for Seahawks debut
Shaheed is active for Sunday's contest against the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Just five days removed from being dealt from New Orleans to Seattle for 2026 fourth- and sixth-round picks, Shaheed will make his Seahawks debut and may be heavily involved immediately with fellow WRs Tory Horton (groin/shin) and Jake Bobo (calf) inactive and Dareke Young (quadriceps) on injured reserve. Shaheed's competition for reps behind clear No. 1 option Jaxon Smith-Njigba will be Cooper Kupp, Cody White and Ricky White. In nine appearances with the Saints this season before the trade, Shaheed gathered in 44 of 66 targets for 499 yards and two touchdowns.
Nov 4, 2025
Seattle-bound in deadline deal
The Seahawks acquired Shaheed from the Saints on Tuesday in exchange for 2026 fourth- and fifth-round draft picks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Widely expected to be moved ahead of Tuesday's deadline, Shaheed ultimately landed in Seattle, where he'll join a pass-catching corps that had been lacking in quality depth behind No. 1 option Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who leads the NFL with 948 receiving yards. After drawing 36 targets over his final four games with the Saints, Shaheed may lose out on a few looks with the move from New Orleans to Seattle, but his efficiency should improve while he gets an upgrade in quarterback play from Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough to Sam Darnold. In addition to providing the Seahawks with a deep-ball threat on offense to complement Smith-Njigba, Shaheed also excels as a punt returner, having averaged 12.6 yards on 64 career runbacks.
Nov 2, 2025
Top target in Week 9 loss
Shaheed reeled in five of nine targets for 68 yards during Sunday's 34-10 loss against the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed saw a team high in targets from rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, who made his first career start after being named QB1 over previous starter Spencer Rattler. New Orleans' offense didn't show much improvement with their new signal-caller, but Shaheed had his third-most productive outing of the season, tallying at least 50 receiving yards for the fourth time. It was also his fourth game with at least nine targets; meanwhile, WR1 Chris Olave tied with Juwan Johnson for the team's second-most targets (four). It will be worth monitoring if this target share continues during the Saints' Week 10 contest versus Carolina.
Nov 2, 2025
Active in Week 9
Shaheed (hip) is listed as active Sunday at the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed operated with a cap on his reps during Week 9 prep due to a hip injury that left him questionable ahead of Sunday's contest. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Saturday evening that Shaheed was expected to suit up this weekend, something that now has been confirmed. Shaheed is coming off a season-high 12 targets Week 8 and will be on the receiving end of passes from rookie second-round pick Tyler Shough instead of Spencer Rattler moving forward.
Nov 2, 2025
Expected to play in Week 9
Shaheed, who is questionable to play against the Rams on Sunday due to a hip injury, is likely to suit up, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed logged season-high marks with nine catches and 12 targets last Sunday against Tampa Bay but also suffered a hip injury. He logged a trio of limited practices this week, which appears to be enough for him to play Sunday. Shaheed will thus likely work in his usual No. 2 wideout role behind Chris Olave.
Oct 31, 2025
Officially deemed questionable
Shaheed (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at the Rams, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed didn't rejoin last week's 23-3 loss to Tampa Bay after exiting in the fourth quarter, but that doesn't mean much given that the Saints were down by 20. He managed limited practice participation Wednesday through Friday this week, with coach Kellen Moore telling reporters Friday that Shaheed, RB Alvin Kamara (ankle) and CB Alontae Taylor (shoulder) are all trending in the right direction. It is possible trade rumors could impact Shaheed's availability or usage, but there was no hint of anything like that from Moore during his media availability Friday.
Oct 30, 2025
Another limited showing
Shaheed (hip) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With back-to-back capped practices under his belt to begin Week 9 prep due to a hip injury, Shaheed has only one more opportunity to get back to full Friday, or else risk heading into the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game at the Rams. If he's available Week 9, Shaheed will have a new QB under center, as the Saints are rolling with rookie second-round pick Tyler Shough instead of Spencer Rattler moving forward.
Oct 29, 2025
Tending to hip issue
Shaheed was limited in practice Wednesday due to a hip injury.
ANALYSIS
This is a new health concern for Shaheed, who previously wasn't listed as limited at any point in the 2025 campaign. He's coming off a performance Sunday against the Buccaneers in which he earned a season-high 12 targets, turning them into nine catches for 75 yards. New Orleans is making a change under center moving forward, with rookie second-round pick Tyler Shough taking over for second-year pro Spencer Rattler. Whether or not that'll be a boon to the team's pass catchers remains to be seen, but first Shaheed's status will be monitored as the week continues to ensure he'll be out there Sunday at the Rams.
Oct 26, 2025
Leads team with 75 yards Sunday
Shaheed hauled in nine of 12 targets for 75 yards while losing a fumble in Sunday's 23-2 loss to the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed's 12 targets and nine receptions crushed his previous highs of nine and six respectively, but he failed to sniff the 114 yards he posted in Week 5. The fourth-year starter has provided a nice floor for those in deeper formats, recording at least four receptions in each of his eight appearances in 2025. Shaheed's overall line of 39-431-2 looks solid on paper, but over half of his production (including both of his touchdowns) have come in three games. Expect Shaheed to continue serving as one of either Spencer Rattler's or Tyler Shough's top targets against the Rams next Sunday.
Oct 19, 2025
Another four catches in loss
Shaheed secured four of nine targets for 40 yards in the Saints' 26-14 loss to the Bears on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed was the surprise leader in targets on the afternoon for New Orleans while curiously posting four catches for the sixth consecutive game. The speedy fourth-year pro has just two catches of 20+ yards this season after compiling five in just six 2024 games before his campaign was curt short. The way Spencer Rattler is being asked to manage the offense certainly has something to do with that downturn, but Shaheed should remain a steady contributor in a Week 8 home matchup against the Buccaneers next Sunday afternoon.
Oct 12, 2025
Four grabs in Sunday's loss
Shaheed caught four of six targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 25-19 loss to the Patriots.
ANALYSIS
The speedy wideout has caught exactly four passes in five straight games, but Sunday's yardage total was his lowest of the season. Shaheed remains dependent on deep throws for significant fantasy value, but with Spencer Rattler getting more confident and comfortable in coach Kellen Moore's offense, connections like last week's 87-yard TD could become more frequent. Shaheed may have a better chance of making an impact in Week 7 against the Bears.
Oct 5, 2025
Torches Giants for long TD
Shaheed caught four of five targets for 114 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-14 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Most of that production came on a single play -- an 87-yard catch-and-run in the second quarter that Shaheed took to the house. The fourth-year wideout hadn't exceeded 52 receiving yards in a game this year prior to Sunday, and second-year QB Spencer Rattler may not be able to find his deep threat so easily against more competent secondaries, but it was still an encouraging sign for Shaheed and the Saints' aerial attack. He'll look for another big play or two in Week 6 against the Patriots.
Sep 29, 2025
Totals 52 yards Week 4
Shaheed recorded four receptions (on five targets) for 47 yards during Sunday's 31-19 defeat versus the Bills. He added two rushing attempts for five yards on the ground.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed caught exactly four passes for the third week in a row. He tied for second on the Saints in targets Sunday, and he's now logged between five and six targets in each of the last three contests. The 26-year-old speedster has just one catch over 20 yards so far this season, but his consistent target share provides a solid floor for deeper leagues in PPR formats. Shaheed will look to maintain his WR2 role behind Chris Olave during New Orleans' next game versus the Giants on Sunday, Oct. 5.
Sep 21, 2025
Gains 42 yards Sunday
Shaheed brought in four of six targets for 42 yards in Sunday's 44-13 loss to Seattle.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed finished third in targets, receptions and yardage for the Saints in a one-sided affair Sunday. The 26-year-old has proven to be a solid fantasy option for those in deeper formats, averaging 4.7 receptions and 42.3 yards through three weeks. Expect Shaheed to continue providing a solid floor as New Orleans' No. 2 receiver in a road matchup against the Bills next Sunday.
Sep 14, 2025
Finds end zone against Niners
Shaheed caught four of five targets for 52 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year wideout was on the other end of Spencer Rattler's second of three TD passes on the day, a three-yard strike in the third quarter. Shaheed has had a respectable start to the season in new head coach Kellen Moore's scheme, posting a 10-85-1 line on 14 targets through two games as the WR2 behind Chris Olave. Shaheed will look to build on this performance in Week 3 against the Seahawks.
Sep 7, 2025
Hauls in six passes in loss
Shaheed caught six of nine targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year wideout saw strong volume in new coach Kellen Moore's scheme, but Shaheed was actually the Saints' third-most productive pass catcher behind TE Juwan Johnson (8-76 on 11 targets) and WR Chris Olave (7-54 on 13 targets). With Spencer Rattler chucking up a career-high 46 pass attempts in a game that remained close throughout, the ceiling for the team's aerial attack might be higher than expected despite the question marks at quarterback. Shaheed will look to turn his volume into a big gain or two at home in Week 2 against the 49ers.
Aug 23, 2025
Two grabs in preseason finale
Shaheed brought in two of three targets of 14 yards in the Saints' 28-19 preseason loss to the Broncos on Saturday afternoon.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed took the field for the Saints' first three possessions with Spencer Rattler as his quarterback and recorded multiple grabs for the second straight preseason contest. The speedy Weber State product should once again serve as one of the Saints' most potent downfield weapons in 2025, although working with either Rattler and the even more inexperienced Tyler Shough could certainly cap Shaheed's upside somewhat.
Aug 17, 2025
Three catches in preseason tie
Shaheed caught all three of his targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 17-17 preseason tie against the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed suited up for his first game action since Week 6 of the last season, when he tore the meniscus in his knee. He got the start at wide receiver opposite Chris Olave, and they combined for five first-half catches on passes from rookie second-round pick Tyler Shough. The Saints have yet to settle on a starting quarterback between Shough and Spencer Rattler heading into their third and final game of the preseason Saturday against the Broncos.
Aug 17, 2025
Poised to play Sunday
Shaheed is participating in pre-game warmups and is in line to play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Jaguars, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed did not play in the Saints' preseason opener against the Chargers despite participating in warmups, but he is taking part in the team part of pre-game routines Sunday along with Chris Olave (ankle). If Shaheed does play, he'll likely be limited to one or two offensive series to build chemistry and in-game reps with rookie Tyler Shough.
Aug 10, 2025
Sits out preseason opener
Shaheed did not play in Sunday's 27-13 preseason loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed was in uniform and warming up with the Saints' starters pregame, but he ultimately stayed on the sideline during Sunday's loss. He and Chris Olave (ankle) are the two wideouts who are guaranteed to have a starting spot for the Saints when healthy this season, so it's unlikely that either player will need to play much this preseason. The next opportunity for Shaheed and Olave to suit up this preseason will come versus Jacksonville on Sunday, Aug. 17.
Aug 10, 2025
Might play after all
Shaheed is in uniform and participating in pre-game warmups ahead of Sunday's preseason game against the Chargers, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
ANALYSIS
It looked like Shaheed would join Chris Olave (ankle) in street clothes for Sunday's preseason opener, but the former has suited up and working with the wide receiver and punt return groups. It remains to be seen whether Shaheed indeed plays, but if he does, he'll likely be limited to one or two series on offense in the first quarter. With Olave out, Shaheed is slated to serve as the Saints' WR1 and Spencer Rattler's top target.
Aug 10, 2025
Not in line to play Sunday
Shaheed is not participating in pre-game warmups and is not expected to play against the Chargers on Sunday, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
The Saints will be without their top wideouts in Shaheed and Chris Olave (ankle), which leaves Brandin Cooks, Bub Means, Cedrick Wilson and Mason Tipton as the top wide receivers for Spencer Rattler, who will start in Sunday's preseason opener. Shaheed doesn't appear to be nursing an injury, and his next chance to play will be Sunday, Aug. 17 against the Jaguars.
Jul 25, 2025
Adds weight over offseason
Shaheed reported to training camp this week at 190 pounds, Erin Summers of the Saints' official website reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed was listed at 180 pounds last season, but said Thursday that he put on weight in order to hold up better against contact. Shaheed insists he didn't lose any of his speed despite the additional 10 pounds. New Orleans' quarterback situation is a tough one, but Shaheed is locked into two-WR sets alongside Chris Olave and has the ability to take any catch to the end zone. He's an exciting target in best ball fantasy drafts and was fantasy's WR27 in half-PPR points per game before going down with a knee injury in Week 6 last season.
May 30, 2025
Looks back to full health
Shaheed (knee) is participating in OTAs without any apparent restrictions and joined Chris Olave (concussion) in punt return drills Thursday, Luke Johnson of NOLA.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed and Olave have both looked fully healthy at OTAs, per Matthew Paras of NOLA.com, an encouraging development as the Saints work through a three-way quarterback competition to recover from the offseason retirement of Derek Carr (shoulder). Rookie second-round pick Tyler Shough, 2024 fifth-rounder Spencer Rattler and third-year pro Jake Haener (oblique) all appear to have a legitimate shot at securing the starting gig for Week 1. With Haener sidelined multiple weeks, and potentially until training camp, Shaheed's current focus will be to build chemistry with Shough and Rattler. His full participation level aligns with the four-to-six month recovery timetable attached to the season-ending meniscus injury Shaheed suffered last October.
Oct 17, 2024
Out for season
Shaheed underwent a full repair of his meniscus Thursday and will miss the rest of the season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Saints placed Shaheed on injured reserve Thursday afternoon, ruling him out for at least four games. But not long after, Schefter reported that Shaheed's recovery timeline will be 4-to-6 months. Shaheed thus will turn his focus to getting healthy for the 2025 campaign. With Chris Olave (concussion) out Thursday against the Broncos, New Orleans' receiving corps will be composed of Mason Tipton, Bub Means, Cedrick Wilson, Equanimeous St. Brown and Jermaine Jackson.
Oct 17, 2024
Goes on injured reserve
The Saints placed Shaheed (knee) on injured reserve Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed thus will miss at least the next four games, but the meniscus surgery that he's undergoing Thursday in Los Angeles ultimately will determine if he has a chance to return to the Saints' active roster this season. If he ends up having a full repair, he'll be out for the rest of the campaign.
Oct 16, 2024
Meniscus surgery on tap
Coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday that Shaheed is slated to undergo surgery on a meniscus injury and may be placed on injured reserve, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed thus will join Chris Olave (concussion) as out for Week 7 action, and Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the former's procedure will determine if he misses multiple weeks or even the rest of the campaign. With their top two wide receivers sidelined Thursday, the Saints will turn to Mason Tipton, Cedrick Wilson (ankle) and Bub Means at the position, while Equanimeous St. Brown, Kevin Austin, Dante Pettis and Jermaine Jackson are candidates to be elevated from the practice squad.
Oct 15, 2024
Remains absent from practice
Shaheed (knee) didn't participate in Tuesday's practice, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
With Shaheed set to go down as a non-participant on both of the Saints' first two Week 7 injury report, he'll likely need to log some activity at Wednesday's practice to have a chance at playing Thursday against the Broncos. The Saints could have a depleted receiving corps versus Denver, as top wideout Chris Olave (concussion) didn't practice Tuesday either and appears unlikely to be available Thursday.
Oct 14, 2024
Getting knee checked out
Shaheed, who was listed as a non-participanton Monday's practice estimate, is getting his knee checked out to determine the severity of the injury he sustained in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Underhill, there's some concern Shaheed could miss time, but more will be known in that regard after the wideout's knee gets evaluated further. With Chris Olave dealing with a concussion, the status of the Saints' top WRs is a concern for the team ahead of Thursday night's game against the Broncos. If neither are able to face Denver, added opportunities would be available for Mason Tipton, Cedrick Wilson and Bub Means.
Oct 14, 2024
DNP on Monday's estimate
Shaheed (knee) was a non-participant on Monday's estimated injury report.
ANALYSIS
Neither Shaheed nor Chris Olave (concussion) would have practiced had the Saints held practice Monday, which is a significant development with Thursday's game against the Saints right around the corner. Shaheed added to his outstanding start to the season with a punt return touchdown in Sunday's 51-27 loss to the Broncos, but he caught only one of seven targets from rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler, who is in line for another start in place of Derek Carr (oblique). Bub Means (hand) was a full participant on Monday's estimate, while Cedrick Wilson (ankle) was a non-participant.
Oct 13, 2024
Scores TD on special teams
Shaheed brought in one of seven targets for 11 yards, rushed once for two yards, returned one kickoff for 25 yards and ran back two punts for 56 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' 51-27 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed and rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler could barely connect during the latter's first taste of NFL action, with the speedy wideout's robust target tally going almost completely for naught. However, Shaheed still found a way to contribute for fantasy managers in leagues that factor in return production, as he put together an impressive return on his kickoff runback and then rattled off a 54-yard punt-return touchdown early in the second quarter for New Orleans' first trip to the end zone on the afternoon. Despite the inefficiency, the fact Rattler often looked Shaheed's way is encouraging, and the duo could therefore be due for more success in a Week 7 Thursday night home battle against the Broncos.
Oct 11, 2024
Avoids injury designation
Shaheed (hip) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed was a limited participant Thursday and Friday, after being listed as questionable on Wednesday's practice estimate. Avoiding an injury designation suggests he's expected to occupy his usual role, but that may prove less fruitful for fantasy managers with rookie Spencer Rattler replacing an injured Derek Carr (oblique) under center.
Oct 10, 2024
Logs limited practice Thursday
Shaheed (hip) was a limited practice participant Thursday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed made a brief appearance at the media-access portion of Thursday's session, but it was enough for him to go down as limited after opening Week 6 prep with a DNP. He told Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football on Thursday that his hip injury is "minor," and he expects to suit up Sunday against the Buccaneers. Nonetheless, Shaheed may enter the weekend with a game designation, something that will be revealed, one way or another, on Friday's practice report.
Oct 10, 2024
Spotted Thursday
Shaheed (hip) was seen during the team stretch prior to Thursday's practice, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Having said that, Shaheed then left the field, indicating he's poised for a second straight absence to kick off Week 6 prep. His activity level, or lack thereof, will be known once the Saints post their next practice report later Thursday.
Oct 9, 2024
Tending to hip issue
Shaheed was a non-participant at Wednesday's walkthrough due to a hip injury, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Aside from getting blanked on five targets Week 3 against the Eagles, Shaheed has surpassed 73 yards from scrimmage on the other four occasions and scored three receiving touchdowns overall. With a health concern now impacting his practice reps, his status will be one to monitor as the week goes on to get a sense of his availability for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
Oct 7, 2024
Leading receiver in loss
Shaheed had four receptions (nine targets) for 86 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 26-13 loss to the Chiefs.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed made his mark on Monday Night Football when he dove to make an incredible catch for a touchdown on a 43-yard bomb from the arm of Derek Carr (oblique). The 25-year-old Shaheed has sandwiched a Week 3 dud with a pair of strong fantasy performances through five games this season. Assuming his starting quarterback is healthy, Shaheed makes for a fine fantasy play against Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Sep 29, 2024
Just short of 100 scrimmage yards
Shaheed caught eight of 11 targets for 83 yards and added 14 rushing yards on two carries in Sunday's 26-24 loss to the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
The speedster posted nearly identical numbers through the air as Chris Olave (8-87-0 on 10 targets), but no one Saints wideout or tight end managed more than 13 receiving yards. It was an impressive bounce-back effort as a receiver from Shaheed after he was held without a catch the week before, and Sunday's receptions and targets were both season highs for him. The performance was marred by a muffed punt that led to an Atlanta fumble recovery TD in the first quarter, however. The Saints' narrow route tree has Shaheed on pace for a career year with a 15-252-2 line on 25 targets through four contests, but he may need to come up big again in Week 5 against Kansas City.
Sep 22, 2024
Held without a catch Sunday
Shaheed tallied zero receptions (on five targets) for zero yards during Sunday's 15-12 defeat to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed failed to connect with quarterback Derek Carr after these two linked up on touchdown passes of 59 and 70 yards in the first two games of the season. The 26-year-old's target share didn't take any sort of dip Sunday. Instead, the Saints' offense finally hit its first snag after back-to-back blowout wins to start the season. Carr completed just 14 of 25 passes for 142 yards and one touchdown to one interception. This game-ending interception came when Carr targeted Shaheed on an ill-advised desperation pass deep with just under one minute remaining in the fourth quarter. These two will look to get back on the same page when the Saints travel to Atlanta this coming Sunday, Sept. 29.
Sep 15, 2024
Brings in another long score
Shaheed caught all four of his targets for 96 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-19 win over the Cowboys. He added 13 rushing yards on three carries.
ANALYSIS
The third-year wideout has been Derek Carr's most dangerous downfield weapon to begin the season, and Shaheed's 70-yard TD catch in the first quarter Sunday set the tone for another huge performance by the Saints' offense under new coordinator Klint Kubiak. Shaheed already has two touchdowns of 50 or more yards through two games in 2024, and he'll look to give the Philadelphia secondary more than it can handle in Week 3.
Sep 8, 2024
Hauls in long TD in win
Shaheed caught three of five targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 47-10 win over the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
The third-year wideout was on the other end of a 59-yard TD pass from Derek Carr in the first quarter, accounting for most of his team high in receiving yards. Shaheed was expected to assume a bigger role in the Saints' offense this year under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, and the early returns were excellent. Shaheed will take on a much stingier secondary in Week 2 against the Cowboys.
Sep 4, 2024
Avoids injury report
Shaheed (toe/foot) isn't listed on the Saints' injury report Wednesday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After tending to hamstring tightness in the first two weeks of August, Shaheed has been managing a toe/foot injury since then. Both coach Dennis Allen and Shaheed himself expressed optimism about the third-year pro being available for Week 1. Now that his status is confirmed ahead of Sunday's season opener against the Panthers, Shaheed will be looking to one-up his 46-719-5 line on 75 targets in 15 regular-season games from the 2023 campaign.
Aug 30, 2024
Feels ready for regular season
Shaheed (toe/foot) returned to practice this week and said he "didn't lose a step" despite missing a substantial portion of training camp, Darrion Gray of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed said "I stayed on top of everything that I needed to throughout the rehab process," indicating that he'll be fully up to speed with New Orleans' offense Week 1 versus the Panthers. It remains to be seen whether Shaheed has yet resumed practicing in full, or whether he was limited in his return to the field this week, but it seems like the third-year pro is on track to play in the Saints' regular-season opener on Sept. 8. Shaheed looks primed for a crucial role behind No. 1 wideout Chris Olave, but he could face different utilization this season under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
Aug 28, 2024
Spotted at practice
Shaheed (toe) is at practice Wednesday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
While the extent of his participation is unclear, Shaheed's presence in any capacity is a good sign for the Saints with 11 days to go before their season opener against Carolina. He's dealt with a toe/foot injury for the past couple weeks, after missing time with a hamstring injury early in training camp.
Aug 27, 2024
Should be fine for Week 1
The Saints expect Shaheed (toe) to be ready for Week 1 against Carolina, Brandon Thomas of New Orleans Football Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed missed most of training camp and the preseason, first dealing with a hamstring injury and now a toe issue. He excelled as a return specialist and deep threat during his first two NFL seasons, but his role may be different under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, especially because the Saints lack wideout talent behind No. 1 receiver Chris Olave. Possibilities for 2024 include Shaheed getting more short/intermediate targets and/or fewer touches on special teams.
Aug 25, 2024
Remains out for preseason finale
Shaheed (toe/foot) did not play in Sunday's 30-27 preseason loss to the Titans.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed's absence did not come as a surprise after he missed the team's previous exhibition with an unspecified toe/foot injury. Even if he were healthy, it's likely that the 6-foot speedster would not have played in Sunday, as the vast majority of New Orleans' starters also sat out. Saints coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday that he doesn't expect Shaheed to be out long with this injury. He'll have two weeks to return in time for the regular-season opener against Carolina on Sunday, Sept. 8.
Aug 21, 2024
Shouldn't miss extended time
Coach coach Dennis Allen noted Wednesday that he doesn't believe Shaheed's toe/foot injury will keep him out for an extended length of time, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Johnson, Shaheed -- who missed this past weekend's exhibition contest against the 49ers -- is not dealing with turf toe. While Allen's assessment is encouraging with regard the wideout's chances of being ready for Week 1 action, it does cloud his status for Sunday's preseason finale against the Titans.
Aug 18, 2024
Sitting Sunday against San Fran
Shaheed (toe/foot) isn't taking the field for Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers, Luke Johnson of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed will unsurprisingly sit out Sunday's exhibition contest after missing practice Friday due to this injury. The wide receiver and return specialist has had an injury-riddled training camp, having previously dealt with a hamstring injury. Shaheed still has three weeks to recover before the Sept. 8 regular-season opener against the Panthers, and he'll have an opportunity to suit up before then for the Aug. 25 preseason finale against the Titans.

Sidelined at practice again
Shaheed (toe/foot) is not practicing Friday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed is dealing with a new toe/foot injury, per Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com. After missing the Saints' preseason opener last week due to a hamstring issue, Shaheed's status now looks uncertain for Sunday's exhibition contest against San Francisco. On a positive note for New Orleans, A.T. Perry (ankle) returned as a limited participant Friday.
Aug 14, 2024
Sheds non-contact jersey
Shaheed (hamstring) practiced in full Wednesday, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed missed New Orleans' preseason opener due to a hamstring injury sustained Aug. 3, but it looks like he's now back to full health. That positions him to suit up for Sunday's road exhibition contest against the 49ers, assuming the Saints' starters take the field. Shaheed is primed for a key role on offense this season, both as New Orleans' primary punt and kick returner, and as the No. 2 receiver behind Chris Olave.
Aug 13, 2024
Back at practice
Shaheed (hamstring) donned a red non-contact jersey during Tuesday's practice, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed has been dealing with a tight hamstring since Aug. 3, which kept him sidelined for this past Saturday's preseason contest at Arizona. Tuesday's development marks the his first visible on-field activity in the meantime, but he likely will need to ditch the non-contact jersey entirely in order to gain clearance for game action, which could come as early as this Sunday in San Francisco.
Aug 10, 2024
Not playing Saturday
Shaheed (hamstring) isn't in uniform ahead of Saturday's preseason contest in Arizona, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
During a summer in which he inked a one-year extension, Shaheed has been tending to a tight hamstring since last Saturday and will miss the Saints' first exhibition as a result. His next opportunity for game action is Sunday, Aug. 18 at San Francisco.
Aug 3, 2024
Sidelined by hamstring issue
Shaheed missed practice Saturday due to hamstring tightness, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Dennis Allen didn't seem overly concerned about the injury, which was characterized as hamstring tightness, saying that the team hopes to get Shaheed back on the field Sunday. The wideout is slated to be an important player for the Saints during the coming season, as he's expected to again work as the team's lead kick and punt returner in addition to functioning as the No. 2 receiver.
Jul 20, 2024
Gets extension from Saints
Shaheed and New Orleans agreed to a one-year, $5.2 million contract extension Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed earned the extension partly due to his work as a punt returner after he garnered his first career All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections as a special-teamer last season. The 25-year-old also showed growth as a wide receiver, finishing with 46 catches for 719 yards and five touchdowns over 15 regular-season contests, eight of which he started. Shahid should get the opportunity to further develop in that role during the upcoming campaign, as he's slated to work as the Saints No. 2 receiving option behind Chris Olave (shoulder).
Apr 29, 2024
Set up nicely for WR2 role
Shaheed is in excellent position for a starting job after the Saints waited until the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft to select a wide receiver, taking Bub Means at No. 170 overall.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed worked his way into a starting role as an undrafted rookie in the second half of 2022, and he then entered 2023 as the Saints' No. 3 receiver behind Chris Olave and Michael Thomas. While Thomas missed the final seven games of last season with an injury, Shaheed dealt with an injury of his own during that stretch and never really progressed to a full starter's workload. With Thomas gone and not replaced, Shaheed is in better position than ever before to pile up snaps/routes/targets, though his value on special teams as both a kick and punt returner could offer part of the explanation for New Orleans limiting his workloads on offense even when the other WR options have been lacking. A.T. Perry and Cedrick Wilson look like the top candidates for wideout snaps after Olave and Shaheed this year.
Mar 10, 2024
Under contract for 2024
The Saints recently tendered Shaheed to a one-year, $985,000 contract, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
The decision to bring Shaheed at less than $1 million for the upcoming season was a no-brainer for the Saints after the Weber State product proved to be a dependable deep-ball complement to No. 1 wideout Chris Olave in 2023. Shaheed appeared in 15 games this past season, accruing 46 catches for 719 yards and five touchdowns on 75 targets while also carrying seven times for 37 yards. The 25-year-old was also a dynamic weapon on special teams, bringing back 25 punts for 339 yards and a touchdown and 18 kickoffs for 384 yards.
Jan 7, 2024
Records TD in season finale
Shaheed brought in three of four targets for 65 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' 48-17 win over the Falcons on Sunday. He also returned two punts for 18 yards.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed set the pace in receiving yards while tying for the team lead in targets and for second in receptions. The second-year speedster enjoyed a breakout season on offense, with Sunday's production leaving his final 2023 line at a solid 46-719-5 over 15 games while also recording 37 rushing yards and 723 return yards. With Michael Thomas (IR-knee) very likely on his way out of New Orleans, Shaheed could have a solid chance of securing the No. 2 receiver role in training camp this coming summer.
Dec 31, 2023
Quiet outing in divisional win
Shaheed reeled in two of three targets for 14 yards during Sunday's 23-13 win against Tampa Bay.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed logged one of his least productive receiving performances of the season, including tying for his second-fewest targets of any game this season. Unlike most contests this season, the 6-foot speedster didn't see any targets on deep passes. Instead, he fulfilled his usual role as a slot receiver who catches passes at or near the line of scrimmage. Meanwhile, quarterback Derek Carr was locked in on Juwan Johnson, targeting the big-bodied tight end on 12 of his 32 passing attempts Sunday. The Saints also established an early lead and got up 17-0 at halftime, which likely deterred the team from pushing the ball downfield much in the second half. Shaheed also still finished tied for fourth on the team in targets behind Johnson, Chris Olave (six) and running back Jamaal Williams (four). Shaheed will look to make a bigger impact as the Saints vie for a playoff spot Week 18 versus the Falcons.
Dec 22, 2023
Scores TD in Week 16 loss
Shaheed secured five of nine targets for 70 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for four yards in the Saints' 30-22 loss to the Rams on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
The speedy second-year pro tied with Alvin Kamara for second in receptions on the night while serving as the runner-up in yardage as well. Shaheed hit pay dirt from 45 yards late in the first half, his first score since Week 8. Shaheed's yardage total was also his best since that same contest, but it's worth noting the Weber State product recorded only 25 yards on his other four receptions outside of the touchdown. Shaheed next faces the Buccaneers' inconsistent defense in a Week 17 road matchup on New Year's Eve.
Dec 17, 2023
Three catches in return
Shaheed (thigh) caught three of four targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 24-6 win over the Giants.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed returned from a two-game absence while Chris Olave (ankle) joined Michael Thomas (knee) on the sidelines. Shaheed's 36 receiving yards led all Saints wide receivers, but two of Derek Carr's three touchdown passes went to tight ends, and Keith Kirkwood scored the team's only touchdown by a wideout. After getting through the game without a setback to his injured thigh, Shaheed could see his role grow Thursday against the Rams, especially if Olave and Thomas remain unavailable.
Dec 15, 2023
Ready for Sunday
Shaheed (thigh) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game versus the Giants, Brooke Kirchhofer of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed missed the last two games due to a thigh injury, and while he opened Week 15 prep with back-to-back capped sessions, he ended it with a full practice Friday, paving the way for his first appearance since Week 12. Fellow wide receiver Chris Olave (ankle) is questionable for Sunday after failing to practice all week, so if he's inhibited or sidelined this weekend, Shaheed would be poised for an elevated role in the Saints' passing attack.
Dec 14, 2023
Limited again, but plans to play
Shaheed (thigh) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After missing the Saints' last two games with a thigh contusion, Shaheed is seemingly taking a step toward a return to the lineup this Sunday against the Giants, as he's opened Week 15 prep with a pair of limited practices. Following Wednesday's session, Shaheed told Terrell that he intends to play Sunday, but he may need to put in a full practice Friday to approach the weekend without an injury designation. When healthy, Shaheed has operated as the Saints' primary deep threat this season, as he's produced six catches of 40-plus yards through 11 appearances.
Dec 13, 2023
Officially limited Wednesday
Shaheed (thigh) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
The on-field activity marks Shaheed's first since hurting his thigh Week 12 in Atlanta and missing both of the Saints' last two games. He'll have two more opportunities to ramp up his workload further before the team potentially gives him a designation for Sunday's contest against the Giants. Fellow wide receiver Chris Olave (ankle) didn't take part in drills Wednesday, so the overall situation at wide receiver in New Orleans will be watched as the week continues to get a sense of who might be available this weekend.
Dec 13, 2023
Back at practice Wednesday
Shaheed (thigh) returned to practice Wednesday, Brooke Kirchhofer of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
This marks Shaheed's first noticeable on-field work since Shaheed suffered a thigh injury Nov. 26 in Atlanta, which forced absences both Week 13 and 14. He thus appears to be making a push to play Sunday against the Giants, but his odds to do so could receive some clarity once the Saints' first Week 15 practice report is posted Wednesday.
Dec 10, 2023
Sitting out Sunday
Shaheed (thigh) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed hasn't practiced since hurting his thigh Week 12 in Atlanta and now will miss a second straight game as a result of the injury. Meanwhile, the Saints' No. 1 wide receiver Chris Olave has been under the weather since Thursday but will be available to the offense Sunday, with A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden, Keith Kirkwood and Marquez Callaway also on hand to pick up the slack at the position.
Dec 10, 2023
Not expected to play Week 14
Shaheed (thigh) is unlikely to suit up Sunday against the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed is dealing with a thigh injury that knocked him out of the Week 12 loss against Atlanta and caused him to sat out last Sunday versus Detroit. Though he'll likely miss a second straight contest Sunday, there's a chance he can return Week 15 versus the Giants, per Schefter. Chris Olave (illness) is expected to suit up against Carolina, and A.T. Perry and Lynn Bowden could both see extended work in Shaheed's stead.
Dec 8, 2023
Questionable despite not practicing
Shaheed (thigh) didn't practice at all this week but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed didn't practice or play last week and was ruled out on the final injury report. The 'questionable' designation can be taken as a sign of progress, though he still seems more likely than not to be declared inactive ahead of the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday. That'll be especially problematic for the Saints if Chris Olave -- also listed as questionable -- isn't able to play through the flu or is only a shadow of his usual self. A.T. Perry and Lynn Bowden have been the main beneficiaries of added playing time at wide receiver with Shaheed, Olave and Michael Thomas (IR - knee) all struggling to stay healthy of late.
Dec 7, 2023
Spectator for Thursday's practice
Shaheed (thigh) wasn't on the field for Thursday's practice, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed hasn't practiced in any fashion since exiting the Saints' Week 12 loss to the Falcons with the thigh injury, putting him at risk of missing a second straight game Sunday against the Panthers if he's unable to get back on the field in some capacity Friday during the team's final Week 14 session. Elsewhere in the Saints' receiver room, top option Chris Olave was missing from practice Thursday, though his absence was due to an illness rather than an injury. Olave thus appears likely to be ready to play Sunday, while A.T. Perry and Lynn Bowden would presumably join him as regulars in three-wide sets if Shaheed isn't able to go against Carolina.
Dec 6, 2023
Remains sidelined Wednesday
Shaheed (thigh) didn't practice Wednesday, Brooke Kirchhofer of New Orleans Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed missed this past Sunday's loss to the Lions after injuring his thigh in Week 12 against the Falcons. He hasn't practiced since sustaining the injury, but the speedy receiver and kick returner still has two more chances to return to practice before the Saints host the Panthers on Sunday. With Michael Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, Shaheed could be in store for a larger role on offense if he's able to recover from his thigh injury.
Dec 1, 2023
Not playing Sunday
Shaheed (thigh) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
During this past Sunday's loss in Atlanta, Shaheed left the game and wasn't able to return due to what was termed a thigh injury. It was reclassified as a quadriceps issue Monday, and he proceeded to miss all three practices during Week 13 prep and won't play this weekend. With one question mark out of the way, the Saints are waiting on Chris Olave to gain clearance from an independent neurologist. Whether or not Olave is active Sunday remains to be seen, but A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood currently are the health wide receivers on New Orleans' active roster.
Nov 30, 2023
Doesn't practice Thursday
Shaheed (thigh) didn't participate at Thursday's practice, Brooke Kirchhofer of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed has opened Week 13 prep with back-to-back DNPs due to the quadriceps injury that he suffered this past Sunday in Atlanta. He'll thus have only one more chance for on-field work this week before the Saints potentially make a ruling on his availability for Sunday's game against the Lions. With Chris Olave also embedded in the concussion protocol and Michael Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, New Orleans' healthy wide receivers on the active roster are A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood.
Nov 29, 2023
No practice
Shaheed (quadriceps) didn't practice Wednesday, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed was injured during the second quarter of Sunday's loss to the Falcons and never ended up returning, with Chris Olave (concussion) joining him not long after. Olave managed a limited practice Wednesday, and an earlier report called Shaheed day-to-day, but there's still a decent chance the Saints enter Sunday's game against the Lions without Shaheed, Olave and Michael Thomas (IR - knee). A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood were the team's top three WRs for the second half of the loss to Atlanta this past Sunday.
Nov 29, 2023
Not seen at practice Wednesday
Shaheed (quadriceps) wasn't spotted at the media-access portion of Wednesday's practice, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
Meanwhile, fellow wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) participated in individual drills. With Olave and Shaheed banged up and Michael Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood are the healthy wide receivers on the Saints' active roster.
Nov 27, 2023
Considered day-to-day
Shaheed is viewed as day-to-day with a quad injury he suffered in Sunday's Week 12 loss to the Falcons, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football indicated that Shaheed will likely be unavailable this week, but it sounds like the speedy wideout and return man avoided a serious injury. The Saints host the Lions next Sunday. Shaheed, Chris Olave (concussion), and Michael Thomas (knee, IR) are all dinged up. New Orleans could be diving deep into its wideout depth chart.
Nov 26, 2023
Unlikely to return Sunday
Shaheed (thigh) is considered doubtful to return to Sunday's game at Atlanta, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
With Michael Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, Chris Olave and Shaheed are the Saints' top two wide receivers, but both have made early departures from Week 12 action. The door at least has been left ajar for Shaheed to return, while Olave suffered and concussion and will be subject to the protocol for head injuries moving forward. If Shaheed remains on the sideline, he'll end Sunday with two catches (on five targets) and one punt return for six yards.
Nov 26, 2023
Iffy to return Sunday
Shaheed is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Falcons due to a thigh injury.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed was targeted five times in the first two quarters and recorded two catches for nine yards, but he appeared to sustain the thigh injury early in the contest and had it flare up once he checked back into the contest. According to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com, Shaheed threw his helmet on the ground in frustration shortly before he headed to the locker room late in the second quarter, so he could be at risk of being downgraded to out for the second half. If Shaheed is done for the day, it would be a major blow to a Saints receiving corps that recently lost Michael Thomas (knee) to injured reserve.
Nov 12, 2023
Limited to short gains
Shaheed recorded five receptions on nine targets for 24 yards in Sunday's 27-19 loss to the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed typically sees only a few opportunities per game as a deep threat, though that wasn't the case against the Vikings. Instead, he was bumped up the depth chart after Michael Thomas (knee) suffered an injury early in the game and was limited to short areas of the field. It's unclear how serious Thomas' knee injury is, but Shaheed and A.T. Perry look to be the next in line for more targets should Thomas miss time.
Nov 6, 2023
Catches three short passes Sunday
Shaheed reeled in all three targets for 22 yards during Sunday's 24-17 victory against the Bears.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed was targeted on three short passes by Derek Carr on Sunday. As a result, the 24-year-old wideout's longest play from scrimmage was a 12-yard reception early in the fourth quarter. The speedster's fantasy production is heavily tied to his explosiveness after the catch and as a downfield receiving threat. But, New Orleans' passing offense has once again been limited this season despite the addition of Carr, as the 32-year-old is averaging just 6.7 yards per attempt through nine games. Shaheed has also received a somewhat inconsistent number of targets this season, seeing four or fewer targets in five of nine games. Moving forward, expect Shaheed to continue facing competition for downfield targets from No.1 wideout Chris Olave while Michael Thomas, tight end Juwan Johnson and running back Alvin Kamara all vie for short-yardage targets as well.
Oct 29, 2023
Tallies another long score Week 8
Shaheed caught all three of his targets for 153 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 38-27 win against the Colts.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed connected with quarterback Derek Carr on two long balls, including a season-long 58-yard touchdown pass that he caught in stride before gliding into the end zone in the second quarter. The 25-year-old speedster also matched his previous season-long with a 51-yard catch deep down the left side of the field in the fourth quarter. Shaheed has now accounted for the Saints' three longest plays from scrimmage this season, and he has logged a 25-yard-plus reception in five of eight games. With 23 receptions on 38 targets for 479 yards, Shaheed should continue to serve as the team's go-to big-play threat while slotting in behind top wideouts Chris Olave and Michael Thomas, who logged nine and seven targets Sunday, respectively.
Oct 20, 2023
Totals 31 yards in loss
Shaheed hauled in four of eight targets for 28 yards and logged one rushing attempt for four yards during Thursday's 31-24 defeat to the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed logged a season high in targets, finishing third on the team behind top wideout Chris Olave (15) and running back Alvin Kamara (14). The 6-foot Shaheed has primarily been used on short crossing routes and deep passes that are meant to give him an opportunity for yards after the catch, and he's averaged 16.3 yards per reception. However, he didn't manage to connect on any deep passes from Saints quarterback Derek Carr, who set a new season high in passing attempts (55) for the second week in a row. Shaheed has logged two touchdowns this season. His value in fantasy will continue to come as an explosive, though largely hit or miss, playmaker in New Orleans' rather limited offense.
Oct 15, 2023
Snags touchdown pass in loss
Shaheed accrued two receptions (on six targets) for 85 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 20-13 loss versus the Texans.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed showed up for his first significant impact since the season opener against Tennessee. The 6-foot speedster has continually served as New Orleans' top deep threat so far this season, and both of his receptions came on deep passes Sunday. This included the team's lone receiving touchdown with a 34-yard pass down the middle of the field, as well as the team's longest play from scrimmage, catching a 51-yard pass from Derek Carr on a first-down shot midway through the fourth quarter. Shaheed also got involved in the rushing game with two end-around carries, and he's now totaled five rushing attempts for 29 yards through six games. Shaheed's speed and versatile usage should continue to make him the Saints' most explosive playmaker, though his 21 touches through six weeks doesn't bode well for his game-to-game consistency in fantasy.
Oct 9, 2023
Minimal role in blowout
Shaheed gathered in both of his targets for 28 yards during Sunday's 34-0 victory versus New England.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed matched his season low for targets during this wire-to-wire blowout for New Orleans. The second-year wideout still finished with the third-most receiving yards for the Saints behind wideout Michael Thomas (65) and running back Kendre Miller (53). Shaheed's biggest impact ultimately came as a returner on special teams, logging 22 yards on three punts to go along with three fair catches. The 6-foot speedster's playing time has once again slotted behind top wideouts Chris Olave and Thomas this season, as these two combined for 11 targets Week 5. Shaheed's fantasy value should continue to be tied to generating explosive plays, making him a volatile player week-to-week.
Oct 1, 2023
Modest outing in loss
Shaheed gathered in three of seven targets for 33 yards during Sunday's 26-9 defeat against the Buccaneers.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed didn't manage to connect on any of the three deep passes that he saw from starting quarterback Derek Carr, who was playing at less than 100 percent after suffering an AC joint sprain against Green Bay in Week 3. The 25-year-old speedster did collect three short passes while also pacing New Orleans' wideout corps in targets; but, he still finished with fewer targets than running back Alvin Kamara (13), who made his season debut after serving a suspension from Week 1 to Week 3. Shaheed has been involved in the Saints' offense during all but one game this season, and his ability to generate big plays whenever he touches has helped make up for his relatively modest 12 catches on 19 targets so far this season.
Sep 25, 2023
Notches 76-yard punt return TD
Shaheed failed to catch either of his two targets for zero yards during Sunday's 18-17 defeat versus the Packers. He also logged a 76-yard punt return for a touchdown along with one rushing attempt for no gain.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed made his first significant special-teams impact of the 2023 campaign, darting through a crowd of tacklers before breaking away for a 76-yard punt-return touchdown in the second quarter. The 6-foot speedster fair caught the three other punts he fielded while tallying a season-low 32 yards on kickoff returns. This still made up for his inability to haul in either of his targets from starting quarterback Derek Carr and Jameis Winston, as the latter stepped in under center after the former went out with a right shoulder injury in the third quarter. This marked the first time Shaheed was held without a catch since Week 9 of last season, and he still played nearly as many offensive snaps (44) as fellow starting wideouts Chris Olave (49) and Michael Thomas (46). However, the latter two receivers combined for 14 catches on 20 targets, as these two should still be considered New Orleans' clear-cut top two receivers. Shaheed's offensive productivity figures to recover Week 4 against Tampa Bay, though he may hav
Sep 18, 2023
Four catches in Week 2
Shaheed caught all four of his targets for 63 yards in Monday's 20-17 win over Carolina.
ANALYSIS
Most of Shaheed's production came on a 45-yard catch in the fourth quarter. He finished a distant third on the team in targets behind Chris Olave (11) and Michael Thomas (nine). Shaheed also had two kickoff returns for 47 yards and a 16-yard punt return. The second-year pro should continue to work as the Saints' No. 3 wide receiver and return man in Week 3 against the Packers.
Sep 10, 2023
Finds endzone Week 1
Shaheed gathered in five of six targets for 89 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 16-15 win against Tennessee. He also rushed twice for 11 yards.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed found a role as one of the Saints' most dynamic all-around offensive players last season, and he continued to fill this role Sunday. The 6-foot speedster accounted for two of New Orleans' three longest plays from scrimmage as well as its lone touchdown, hauling in a 19-yard pass from quarterback Derek Carr during the third quarter. Shaheed logged the Saints' third-most targets behind fellow wideouts Chris Olave (10) and Michael Thomas (eight); however, the team seems intent on getting Shaheed the ball in any way possible, as he also finished with the team's second-most rushing yards behind No. 1 back Jamaal Williams (45). Shaheed's ability to make big plays in space should continue to net him a healthy workload this season.

Sidesteps injury report
Shaheed (groin) wasn't listed on the Saints' first Week 1 injury report Wednesday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed suffered a groin injury Aug. 5 that kept him off the practice field until Aug. 24. All along, the Saints had few concerns about the second-year receiver being ready to go by the team's season opener, and he'll do just that Sunday versus the Titans. Shaheed thus will be available this weekend as New Orleans' No. 3 WR behind Chris Olave and Michael Thomas.
Aug 24, 2023
Appears in practice
Shaheed (groin) returned for a portion of practice Thursday, making his first appearance since Aug. 5, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed still figures to miss a third straight preseason game when the Saints host the Texans on Sunday, but he still has more than two weeks to prepare for a Sept. 10 season opener against Tennessee. He'll likely be the Saints' No. 3 receiver when healthy, following a rookie season in which he progressed from being an undrafted free agent to a return specialist to a trick-play weapon to a productive starter. Shaheed never drew more than six targets in a game, but he did close out the year with five straight games (all starts) with at least four, catching 20 of 23 passes for 324 yards and a TD in that stretch.
Aug 7, 2023
On track to miss time
Though a groin muscle injury is likely to sideline Shaheed for most of the Saints' preseason games, John Sigler of USA Today relays via NewOrleans.Football's Brooke Kirchhofer and Nick Underhill that there are "no concerns for Week 1."
ANALYSIS
While it appears as though Shaheed is on track to miss a few weeks, he's expected to be available for New Orleans' Sept. 10 season opener against the Titans. In 12 games last season, the 24-year-old recorded a 28/488/2 receiving line (on 34 targets), and once healthy, Shaheed should have a chance to remain a key cog in a Saints' 2023 WR corps that is in line to feature Chris Olave and Michael Thomas.
Aug 7, 2023
Sidelined by groin injury
Shaheed (groin) didn't practice Monday, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, Shaheed is expected to miss a few weeks, but at this stage there are no concerns regarding the wideout's Week 1 status. That said, it seems safe to assume that Shaheed will miss the Saints' first couple of preseason games, at a minimum.
Aug 5, 2023
Unable to finish Saturday's practice
Shaheed did not finish Saturday's practice after suffering a groin injury, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Tre'Quan Smith also left Saturday's practice early with a groin issue, but Shaheed's is far more noteworthy given the second-year wideout missed nearly a month with a similar groin injury during OTAs. Head coach Dennis Allen didn't seem concerned and suggested the injury was likely minor. Provided Shaheed is available Week 1, the Saints could have one of the deepest receiver rooms in recent memory with star wideouts Chris Olave and Michael Thomas joined by Smith and intriguing rookie A.T. Perry.
Jul 26, 2023
Practicing at start of camp
Shaheed (groin) practiced Wednesday, the Saints' official website reports.
ANALYSIS
As did Chris Olave and Michael Thomas, giving the Saints a healthy WR room for the start of training camp after each of their top three guys was limited or absent from spring practices. Shaheed is the favorite for the No. 3 role, coming off an impressive rookie season in which he went from being undrafted to earning a gadget/return role to nabbing a spot with the first-team offense. Olave and Thomas are the favorites to lead the team in targets this year, but Shaheed also figures to have an important role as the likely return specialist and third or fourth receiver.

Tending to groin issue
Shaheed missed Tuesday's practice due to a groin injury, Terrin Waack of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

After sitting out the final set of Saints OTAs last week, Shaheed again was a DNP to kick off the first of three days of mandatory minicamp. Coach Dennis Allen clarified the nature of Shaheed's injury Tuesday but didn't give any additional information. An undrafted rookie last year, Shaheed is coming off an impressive second half of the 2022 season in which he overall put together a 28-488-2 line on 34 targets and also notched four carries for 57 yards and one more score in 12 games.

Shallow outing in finale
Shaheed had three receptions (on four targets) for 34 yards and a seven-yard rush during Sunday's 10-7 loss to the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed didn't provide his usual spark as a big-play receiver Week 18. The 180-pound speedster also couldn't provide any explosive plays on special teams, as he fair caught all five of the punts sent his way. Over 12 games this season, undrafted rookie posted 28 catches on 34 targets for 488 yards and two touchdowns as well as four carries for 57 yards and another touchdown. However, the majority of this production came over the final six games of the season, including three catches of 40 or more yards during this span. This knack for big plays also netted Shaheed the highest yards per reception (17.4) of any Saints receiver with more than five receptions this season. He also recorded 320 kick-return yards and 193 punt-return yards. Shaheed's strong showing to close his rookie campaign could make him a candidate for a similarly explosive role heading into the 2023 season.

Pops another big play
Shaheed recorded six receptions on six targets for 79 yards in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Back in favorable weather, Shaheed returned to showcasing his big-play ability. He popped a 58-yard catch late in the second quarter to set up a field goal for the Saints. While that accounted for the majority of his production, Shaheed's involvement in the offense was notable as he managed a career-best six targets even with Chris Olave (hamstring) back in the mix. Shaheed now has at least one reception of more than 20 yards in four of his last five games.

Top wideout in tough weather
Shaheed gathered in four of five targets for 41 yards during Saturday's 17-10 win over the Browns.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed stepped up as the Saints' No. 1 receiver with rookie first-rounder Chris Olave (hamstring) inactive Saturday. The undrafted pass-catcher was one of only two New Orleans wideouts to log a target, as the team attempted 15 passes due to the frigid and windy conditions in Cleveland on Saturday. Running back Alvin Kamara was the only other Saints player to log more than two targets or one reception, while tight end Juwan Johnson caught one of two targets for nine yards. Shaheed's production over the previous three games has clearly placed him as the No. 2 wideout ahead of Tre'Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway. With veteran slot Jarvis Landry (ankle) also set to miss the remainder of the regular season on IR, expect Olave, Johnson and Shaheed to serve as the team's top receiving trio when healthy.

Could be No. 1 wideout Saturday
Shaheed appears to be in line to serve as the Saints' No. 1 receiver Saturday in Cleveland with Chris Olave (hamstring) ruled out for the contest and with Jarvis Landry (hamstring) moving to injured reserve, John Sigler of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Though the undrafted rookie out of Weber State didn't make his NFL debut until Week 6 and was initially deployed as a return man and gadget player, Shaheed has pushed for a more prominent role on offense in recent weeks. His snap share on offense has steadily been trending upward for each of the past six games, culminating in a breakout Week 15 outing against Atlanta in which he hauled in three of four targets for 95 yards and a touchdown while playing 71 percent of the snaps. While he can't be considered a safe bet to match nearly the eight targets per game Olave has earned this season, Shaheed should at least be more of a priority in the passing attack this week than either Tre'Quan Smith or Marquez Callaway. According to Sigler, Shaheed has run 89 routes since Week 11, while Callaway and Smith have ran only 12 and 10, respectively. That said, with heavy winds and temperatures around 10 degrees Fahrenheit in the forecast for Cleveland on Saturday, it wouldn't be surprising if Shaheed's opportunities are lim

Hauls in 68-yard touchdown pass
Shaheed logged three receptions (on four targets) for 95 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 21-18 win over the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed set a new career high in receiving yards for the second week in a row. He also hauled in a 68-yard touchdown on a pass that traveled 33 yards through the air from change-of-pace quarterback Taysom Hill. This marked the Saints' longest play from scrimmage this season. Shaheed's increased usage over the past four games has paid dividends for New Orleans, as he has now logged three receptions of 20 yards or more and two receptions of 40 yards or more during this span. Shaheed has yet to record more than four targets in a game this season, but he and top wideout Chris Olave should continue to serve as the team's go-to options for long plays down the field moving forward.
Dec 6, 2022
Career outing in loss
Shaheed gathered in all four targets for 75 yards during Monday's 17-16 loss against Tampa Bay.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed continued to serve as the explosive element in the Saints' limited offense, catching a 40-yard pass from quarterback Andy Dalton for the team's longest play from scrimmage Monday night. The undrafted wideout also quickly set a new career high when he reached 71 receiving yards with his third reception of the first half. The speedster came close to breaking the first special-teams score of his career on a 42-yard punt return in the second quarter, but he was forced out of bounds by punter Jake Camarda at the Tampa Bay 40-yard line. Shaheed's dynamic abilities as both a receiver and scoring threat in the open field appear to have earned him a bigger role, as his 36 offensive snaps fell behind only first-round rookie Chris Olave (41) amongst the Saints' wide receivers. The team will now have a bye week off before taking on the division-rival Falcons on Sunday, Dec. 18.
Dec 3, 2022
Set for Monday
Shaheed (back) does not carry an injury into Monday's contest against the Buccaneers, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The return man has been sharing time with Kevin White and Tre'Quan Smith as the team's No. 3 wideout, but at least in comparison to the other two, the undrafted rookie had an explosive outing in last week's loss to the 49ers. It would be unlikely for Shaheed to break out with the likes of Jarvis Landry and Chris Olave set to garner the majority of the targets in the passing game.
Dec 2, 2022
Limited at practice
Shaheed (back) was a limited practice participant Friday.
ANALYSIS
Back-to-back limited practices suggest Shaheed is on track to play, though it's still possible he gets a game designation when the Saints release their final injury report Friday for Monday's game in Tampa Bay. The undrafted rookie out of Weber State made some big plays on limited snaps in October and then played 48 and 53 percent of snaps the past two weeks. After catching two of three targets for 53 yards in the shutout loss to San Francisco last week, Shaheed get get another look Monday night as the Saints' No. 3 receiver, with the other options being Kevin White (illness), Tre'Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway.
Dec 1, 2022
Tending to back issue
Shaheed (back) practiced on a limited basis Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed has worked his way into a consistent role within the Saints offense, recording at least one catch in five of the last six games and seeing 48-plus percent of the snaps in back-to-back contests. During that six-game span, he's recorded an 8-164-1 line on 10 targets and also added a six-yard carry. Now, the injury bug that has hammered New Orleans' skill positions this year is affecting Shaheed. On a positive note, though, he has two more sessions this week to get back to full and avoid a designation for Monday's road matchup with the Buccaneers.

Three touches Week 12
Shaheed had two receptions (on three targets) for 53 yards during Sunday's 13-0 loss against San Francisco. He also added one six-yard rushing attempt.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed played his biggest all-around role of the season as he lined up on a season-high 53 percent of the Saints' offensive snaps. The rookie wideout logged the team's longest play from scrimmage, hauling in a 35-yard pass down the middle of the field in the first quarter. Shaheed also got involved near the line of scrimmage, as he notched his second rushing attempt of the year to go along with a three-yard pass that he took for an 18-yard catch-and-run. New Orleans should continue to look for ways to get the ball in Shaheed's hands given his value as an explosive playmaker.
Nov 21, 2022
Grabs one pass in win
Shaheed hauled in one of two targets for eight yards during Sunday's 27-20 victory against the Rams.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed's primary value continued to come on special teams, running back four punts for a season-high 40 return yards. After putting up two touchdowns and 97 total yards on his first two touches of the season, the 24-year-old has come back down to earth with two receptions (on three targets) for 20 yards over the past three weeks. While Shaheed did play a season-high 28 offensive snaps, his production will be capped now that New Orleans' receiving corps is back to full health outside of Michael Thomas (toe).
Oct 31, 2022
Season high in catches Sunday
Shaheed gathered in all three of his targets for 38 yards during Sunday's 24-0 win versus the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed logged his first multi-catch game of the season despite playing just 15 offensive snaps in this blowout victory. After scoring long touchdowns on each of his two touches over the previous two contests, the undrafted rookie accounted for the Saints' second-longest play from scrimmage against Las Vegas with a 30-yard reception, and he also recorded 15 yards across two punt returns. Shaheed appears to have a knack for explosive plays, though his playing time will likely plummet once wideouts Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) return to the lineup.
Oct 21, 2022
Reaches end zone again Thursday
Shaheed secured his lone target for 53 yards and a touchdown during the Saints' 42-34 loss to Arizona on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed was on the field for just 10 offensive snaps during Thursday's primetime matchup, but he reached the end zone for a second consecutive week. The 24-year-old has logged just two touches in the NFL, both of which have gone for touchdowns. His production is unsustainable given his lack of playing time, and his fantasy relevance should drop even more once Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) are cleared to return.
Oct 18, 2022
Scores on first NFL touch
Shaheed played nine of the Saints' 72 snaps on offense in Sunday's 30-26 loss to the Bengals, carrying once for a 44-yard touchdown and failing to haul in his lone target.
ANALYSIS
Signed off the practice squad Saturday, the undrafted receiver out of Weber State stepped in his for his NFL debut Sunday while the Saints were without their top three receivers (Michael Thomas, Chris Olave and Jarvis Landry). Though Shaheed helped fill in for those players to some degree, he mainly served as a replacement for Deonte Harty (foot), who had been the Saints' top return man as well as a depth option at wideout before landing on injured reserve Saturday. Shaheed logged 26 return yards on the day, but he made his biggest imprint on the game just two minutes into the second quarter, when he took his first NFL touch to the house for a touchdown. Shaheed may be used as a gadget player on offense while he remains on the 53-man roster, but he's not likely to see enough usage to emerge as a bankable fantasy option.
Oct 15, 2022
Joins active roster
Shaheed was signed to the Saints' active roster Saturday, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
ANALYSIS
The Saints are poised to have a shorthanded receiving corps, with Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) already ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals. With Deonte Harty (foot) also sidelined, it's possible that Shaheed will serve as both a depth receiver and returner on special teams.
Oct 10, 2022
Candidate to join active roster
There's a possibility that Shaheed could receive a promotion to the Saints' 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's game versus the Bengals, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
New Orleans' returner Deonte Harty suffered a turf toe injury during Sunday's 39-32 win over the Seahawks, leaving Shaheed in consideration for the vacated special teams role. In addition, Michael Thomas (foot) has missed each of the last two contests, rookie Chris Olave suffered a concussion Sunday versus Seattle, Jarvis Landry (ankle) didn't suit up in Week 5 and Kawaan Baker has one more game remaining regarding his six-game suspension. With all the questions looming around the team's WR corps, Shaheed could see his first NFL action Sunday against Cincinnati.

Stays in New Orleans
The Saints signed Shaheed to their practice squad Wednesday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed failed to survive the Saints' final roster cuts Tuesday, but he should now return as a candidate for a promotion or elevation to the active roster should the team's wide receivers undergo injuries. The rookie didn't appear in any of New Orleans' preseason contests.
Aug 30, 2022
Waived by Saints
Shaheed was waived by the Saints on Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
The wide receiver failed to appear in any of the Saints' preseason games before being let go Tuesday. There's a good chance that Shaheed clears waivers and signs with the Saints' practice squad.
Aug 8, 2022
Moves off NFI list
Shaheed passed his physical Monday and was activated off the Saints' active/NFI list, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's an encouraging sign for Shaheed, who had missed training camp up to this point with an undisclosed injury. He'll look to impress his coaches this preseason as he competes for a depth role in the Saints' wide receivers room, but the holder of the FCS record for career kick-return touchdowns could also sneak onto New Orleans' initial 53-man roster as a returner.
Jul 20, 2022
Dealing with undisclosed injury
Shaheed (undisclosed) was placed on the non-football injury list Tuesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed is dealing with an undisclosed injury and will now likely miss the beginning of training camp. He joined the Saints as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft and could compete to make the team as a special teams contributor if he can return to health.
May 16, 2022
Signs with NO as UDFA
The Saints signed Shaheed as an undrafted free agent Friday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed finished his collegiate career at Weber State as the FCS all-time leader in kick-return touchdowns. He'll likely compete with Deonte Harty for kick-return duties in 2022, though Harty is expected to have the advantage after signing a $4 million RFA tender this offseason.
