Keep up with the latest injuries from the Buccaneers vs Rams game on Sunday with our National Football League injury report.Nov 5, 2025
Signing with active roster
The Rams signed Rivers to their active roster Wednesday, Wyatt Miller of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Rivers has spent the entire season so far on the Rams' practice squad, but he's now a part of the 53-man roster after Week 9. It's not likely he'll see much work on offense as long as Kyren Williams, Blake Corum and Jarquez Hunter are still healthy.
Nov 3, 2025
Back to Rams' practice squad
Rivers reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
Rivers was elevated to the Rams' active roster for the second time this season and suited up after Jarquez Hunter (coach's decision) was made inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints. Rivers played just five snaps on special teams without showing up on the box score otherwise while the Rams stuck with their two-man backfield of Kyren Williams and Blake Corum. Rivers is eligible to be elevated from the practice squad one more time by the Rams this season.
Nov 1, 2025
Joins active roster
The Rams elevated Rivers to their active roster Saturday.
ANALYSIS
The Fresno State product was also elevated for the Rams' Week 7 win over the Jaguars, failing to record an offensive stat across 10 total snaps (nine on special teams, one on offense). Now back with the active roster, he's likely to contribute on special teams in Sunday's matchup against the Saints.

Back with practice squad
Rivers reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
ANALYSIS
Rivers was elevated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's 35-7 win over the Jaguars, failing to record any stats while playing one snap on offense and nine snaps with the special-teams unit. The running back is eligible to be elevated two more times before he'd have to be officially signed to the active roster.
Oct 18, 2025
Elevated for Week 7
The Rams elevated Rivers from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Rivers was signed to the Rams' practice squad in late August after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp. Week 7 against the Jaguars marks Rivers' first elevation of the season, and he'll most likely see the field on special teams while serving as a backfield depth option behind Kyren Williams, Blake Corum and rookie fourth-rounder Jarquez Hunter.
Aug 27, 2025
Back to practice squad
The Rams signed Rivers to the practice squad Wednesday, Wyatt Miller of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Rivers failed to beat out Jarquez Hunter for the RB3 spot on the Rams' 53-man roster. Rivers will stick around on the practice squad and would be a candidate to be elevated to the active roster if Hunter, Kyren Williams or Blake Corum were unable to play.
Aug 26, 2025
Cut by LAR
The Rams waived Rivers (ribs) on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Rivers signed a one-year contract with the Rams in March and entered training camp competing against Blake Corum and Jarquez Hunter for a depth spot in the backfield behind starter Kyren Williams. Rivers was limited to just one preseason game due to a rib injury, and that may have played a factor in him not making the Rams' 53-man roster. The Fresno State product will go on waivers, but if he goes unclaimed, he'll have the opportunity to catch on with a team in need of depth out of the backfield.
Aug 10, 2025
Expected to miss time
Rams head coach Sean McVay said Sunday that Rivers (ribs) will be out for "a little bit of time," Greg Beacham of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Rivers is nursing a ribs injury sustained during Los Angeles' preseason game against the Cowboys on Saturday. Any significant time missed could negatively impact his chances of securing a depth backfield role behind starting running back Kyren Williams. His next chance to play this preseason will come Saturday, Aug. 16 against the Chargers.
Aug 9, 2025
Done for the day
Rivers (ribs) is ruled out for the remainder of Saturday's preseason game against the Cowboys, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.
ANALYSIS
Rivers suited up for all 17 regular-season games with Los Angeles in 2024, though he only rushed 22 times for 99 yards in that span. The former UDFA is competing for a reserve role in the Rams' backfield behind starter Kyren Williams, and he'll work to get back on the field in time to face the Chargers in preseason action on Saturday, Aug. 16.
Mar 16, 2025
Staying in Los Angeles
Rivers signed a one-year contract with the Rams on Sunday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rivers opened the 2024 regular season as the Rams' No. 2 running back behind Kyren Williams, but he was eventually bumped down to third string by rookie Blake Corum. Rivers saw plenty of work on special teams for the Rams last season and should reprise that role in 2025. He finished the 2024 campaign with 22 carries for 99 yards and five catches (on six targets) for 34 yards across 17 regular-season games.
Jan 20, 2025
Blanked in playoff loss
Rivers played all 16 of his snaps on special teams in Sunday's 28-22 NFC divisional-round loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Sean McVay didn't deviate from starting running back Kyren Williams at all on Sunday, leaving him in for all 71 snaps on offense. On the season, Rivers compiled 22 rushing attempts for 99 yards and tacked on five catches for 34 yards, and is set to become a restricted free agent in the offseason. Rookie Blake Corum (forearm) established himself as the backup to Williams by season's end, but Rivers has a key role on special teams, which may entice the Rams into bringing him back in 2025.
Jan 14, 2025
Earns three touches
Corum rushed three times for eight yards during Monday's 27-9 wild-card win against the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
With Blake Corum (forearm) out for the playoffs, Rivers stepped in as the primary backup to Kyren Williams at running back. As has been the case all season, Williams didn't come off the field often, playing 46 snaps and earning a total of 19 touches for 92 yards and a touchdown on his 16 carries and three receptions. Rivers played just seven snaps, and his three touches all came in the fourth quarter with the Rams holding a comfortable lead. Rivers is likely to continue to see limited time on offense in the divisional round against a stout Eagles run defense.
Jan 6, 2025
Leads backup offense Sunday
Rivers rushed for 48 yards on 12 carries while bringing in four of five targets for 34 receiving yards in Sunday's 30-25 loss to the Seahawks.
ANALYSIS
The Rams rested starter Kyren Williams for a Week 18 contest that had marginal playoff implications for Los Angeles. Actual spot-starter Blake Corum (forearm) recorded just three touches before exiting the contest and opening the door for Rivers to garner 16 touches in the narrow loss. With the former already being ruled out for the entire playoff schedule, Rivers is lined up to serve as Williams' primary backup in next Monday's home playoff matchup against Minnesota.
Dec 18, 2024
Limited to special-teams role
Rivers played all 20 of his snaps on special teams in Thursday's 12-6 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Rivers had been working ahead of Blake Corum as the top backup to lead back Kyren Williams through the first four games of the season, but the rookie has since supplanted Rivers for the No. 2 role. Though he's been active for each of the Rams' ensuing 10 contests, Rivers has played exclusively on special teams in all of those games.
Oct 7, 2024
Reverts to special teams role
Rivers did not record a snap on offense and played 11 snaps on special teams during Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Packers.
ANALYSIS
For the first time this season, Rivers did not act as the backup to Kyren Williams, with Blake Corum filling the role instead. Whether this is a one-game test for the third-round rookie before the Rams go on bye in Week 6, or if Corum has officially jumped Rivers on the depth chart remains to be seen, but Corum notably produced very similar numbers to what Rivers had been producing with his touches (five rushes for 25 yards, one catch for eight yards). Regardless, the role of Williams hasn't changed, as he rushed 22 times for 102 yards and a touchdown, so neither Rivers nor Corum have much immediate value barring an injury to Williams.
Sep 30, 2024
Season-high usage in loss
Rivers rushed six times for 26 yards during Sunday's 24-18 loss against Chicago.
ANALYSIS
The third-year back saw his usage creep up for the second consecutive week, taking the field for 13 of the Rams' 61 snaps on offense. For the third time in four weeks, rookie Blake Corum was used exclusively on special teams, leaving Rivers as the clear No. 2 behind Kyren Williams. Even with the slight uptick in usage, the Rams backfield still runs through Williams (19-94-1 on Sunday) heading into a Week 5 matchup against the Packers.
Sep 23, 2024
Pair of touches in victory
Rivers rushed twice for nine yards during Sunday's 27-24 victory against San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
Kyren Williams (24-89-2) is locked in as the starter for the Rams, but Rivers continued to work as the backup. The third-year pro converted a pivotal fourth down on a fake punt, keeping alive a drive that ended in a receiving touchdown for Williams. Notably, third-round rookie Blake Corum didn't take a snap on offense for the second time in three games, meaning Rivers seems firmly locked in as the backup to Williams, at least for now. Rivers will likely continue to have a limited role in the offense in a Week 4 contest against the Bears.
Sep 16, 2024
One catch in defeat
Rivers caught his only target for no gain and played three snaps on offense during Sunday's 41-10 loss to the Cardinals.
ANALYSIS
Kyren Williams continued to dominate the touches in the backfield, only yielding three snaps to Rivers before the game was completely out of hand. Rookie Blake Corum had eight rushing attempts, but all eight came on the final drive of the game with the game already wrapped up, so his usage was likely to eat up the remaining clock and protect an already depleted offense from taking any further damage. It appears that, so long as Williams is healthy, Rivers and Corum will be mostly used for special teams, but Rivers is the only other back on the roster to play meaningful snaps through the Rams' first two games.
Sep 9, 2024
Pair of carries in loss
Rivers rushed twice for 16 yards during Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Despite being listed as third on the depth chart, Rivers operated as the primary backup to Kyren Williams. Williams retained his dominating snap share and was on the field for 71 of the Rams' 78 offensive plays, while Rivers took the remaining seven and 2024 third-round rookie Blake Corum failed to record a snap on offense. The most obvious signal from this breakdown is that Williams, at least for now, is likely to continue to be the focal point of the rushing offense instead of being in the timeshare that had been rumored all preseason long. Who operates as the backup to Williams, however, seems more murky in the short term with Rivers seemingly the No. 2 man in the pecking order for now.
Aug 6, 2024
On track for No. 3 RB job?
Rivers "seemingly has the best chance to be the No. 3 running back" for the Rams, according to Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire.
ANALYSIS
Rivers was the No. 2 back at times last season but now figures to fall behind rookie third-round pick Blake Corum, who reportedly has been impressive at training camp. With Corum profiling as Kyren Williams' backup, Rivers and Boston Scott are the favorites for back-end roster spots, which might mean more playing time on special teams than offense.
Apr 15, 2024
Inks contract tender
Rivers signed his contract tender with the Rams on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Rivers suited up for nine games in 2023 as a backup to Kyren Williams, logging 32 carries for 129 yards and while securing all five of his targets for 22 yards. He and Zach Evans could have a chance to compete for the No. 2 backfield role this offseason, pending Los Angeles' additions in the 2024 NFL Draft and/or further in free agency. Rivers has looked solid in limited action as a pass-catcher, which could open further paths for opportunities on offense if he's able to impress this offseason.
Feb 23, 2024
Receives contract tender
The Rams have extended a contract tender to Rivers, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
By offering Rivers, an exclusive rights free agent, a contract tender, he can't negotiate with other teams this offseason. The stage is thus set for the 25-year-old to return the the Rams' backfield in 2024. This past season while working behind top back Kyren Williams, Rivers carried 32 times for 129 yards and caught all five of his targets for 22 yards in nine games. Looking ahead, the 5-foot-9, 195-pounder should continue to maintain a rotational role in Los Angeles' RB corps, which will also include 2023 sixth-rounder Zach Evans, among others.
Jan 15, 2024
Six touches in playoff loss
Rivers rushed three times for nine yards and caught all three of his targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 24-23 wild-card round loss to the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Rivers got most of his playing time down the stretch after Kyren Williams suffered a hand injury. Rivers will be an exclusive rights free agent this offseason, so he's likely to be brought back by the Rams in 2024, but Williams is expected to remain the lead back when healthy on the heels of a breakout season.
Jan 8, 2024
Adequate spot-start Sunday
Rivers rushed 13 times for 52 yards and was not targeted as a receiver in Sunday's 21-20 win over the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Breakout tailback Kyren Williams was rested along with several other key starters for Sunday's inconsequential contest, which afforded Rivers a chance to make a rare start for the Rams in Week 18. The stout RB averaged four yards on his 13 carries, but he finished as his club's second-leading rusher behind quarterback Carson Wentz's 17/56/1 line. Rivers nearly doubled his season rushing total from his previous eight appearances this year in Sunday's start. This highlights jut how small his role Rivers' role becomes when Williams is active, which the latter will be next Sunday's playoff matchup against the Lions.
Jan 1, 2024
Secures lone target
Rivers caught his only target for four yards during Sunday's 26-25 victory against the Giants.
ANALYSIS
With Kyren Williams (20-87-3) against dominating reps at running back, Rivers was the only other back on the roster to take the field on offense, as Royce Freeman was relegated to special teams work. While Rivers managed just four yards on his only touch, his usage might see a spike in Week 18's season finale against the 49ers, as the Rams secured a playoff spot with their win and the Seahawks loss, but are locked into either the No. 6 or No. 7 seed. How much the difference in seeding matters to coach Sean McVay against a 49ers team that will be looking to rest their starters with the No. 1 seed in the NFC locked up will likely determine how much playing time Williams and Rivers get in Week 18.
Dec 22, 2023
Reclaims No. 2 role
Rivers rushed six times for 20 yards during Thursday's 30-22 victory against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Royce Freeman's time as the primary backup to Kyren Williams came to an abrupt end against New Orleans, as Freeman only saw the field on special teams, while Rivers took 15 snaps on offense to the 55 of Williams. Rivers was inefficient as a runner save for a 10-yard scamper to end the third quarter, but the second-year back has clearly returned to a backup role that could pay big dividends if Williams -- who briefly left the game after taking a big hit in the third quarter -- were to miss time down the stretch.
Dec 21, 2023
Returns from IR
The Rams reinstated Rivers (knee) from injured reserve ahead of Thursday's game against the Saints.
ANALYSIS
Rivers was designated for return from IR on Tuesday and was a full participant in two walk-through sessions this week, and though the Rams appear to be comfortable enough with his health to add him back to the 53-man roster, he may be in store for only a minor role Thursday. Before landing on IR on Oct. 18 with a PCL sprain, Rivers had emerged as the top understudy to starting running back Kyren Williams and averaged a respectable 4.4 yards on 13 carries to go with four catches for 18 yards over his six appearances for the Rams. However, given Rivers' lengthy layoff along with the fact that Royce Freeman has been similarly efficient in a reserve role, Rivers could find himself as the No. 3 option on the depth chart moving forward.
Dec 20, 2023
No designation for TNF, still on IR
Rivers (knee) doesn't have a designation for Thursday's game versus the Saints, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Since the team designated him for return from injured reserve Tuesday, Rivers managed back-to-back full walkthroughs to cap Week 16 prep. If he's activated by 4:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, he'll resume a reserve role out of L.A.'s backfield against New Orleans along with Royce Freeman behind starter Kyren Williams. In six appearances this season, Rivers averaged 4.4 yards on his 13 carries and gathered in all four targets for 18 yards.
Dec 19, 2023
Logs full walkthrough Tuesday
Rivers (knee) was a full participant at Tuesday's walkthrough, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
ANALYSIS
After he was designated for return from injured reserve Tuesday, Rivers was able to handle every rep presented to him, perhaps a good sign that he'll rejoin the active roster ahead of Thursday's game against the Saints. Even if he does, though, Kyren Williams has been dominating the Rams backfield this season, when healthy, and Royce Freeman also gets his fair share of touches on a weekly basis. As for Rivers, his season tallies include 13 carries for 57 yards and four catches (on four targets) for 18 yards in six appearances.
Dec 19, 2023
Practice window opens
The Rams designated Rivers (knee) for return from injured reserve Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Prior to spraining his PCL in Week 6, Rivers showed some flashes in the first six games of the campaign. averaging 4.4 yards on his 13 carries and also hauling in all four targets for 18 yards. The Rams play the Saints on Thursday, so he doesn't have much time to put himself in a position to return to action this week. Having said that, Tuesday's practice report will reveal how much work Rivers was able to handle.
Oct 18, 2023
Headed for IR
The Rams are placing Rivers (knee) on injured reserve, Greg Beacham of the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Rivers will be out for at least four games and a bye week, with the earliest possible date or a return being Nov. 26 at the Cardinals (Week 12). He's dealing with a PCL injury, while fellow running back Kyren Williams has an ankle injury and could still make it back before the team's Week 10 bye.
Oct 16, 2023
Expected to miss 4-5 weeks
Rivers is expected to be sidelined four-to-five weeks with a sprained PCL in his knee, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
A trip to injured reserve could be in Rivers' near future. The Rams' RB2, Rivers has rushed 13 times for 57 scoreless yards this season and has caught all four of his targets for 18 yards. With Rivers and Kyren Williams (ankle) banged up, rookie Zach Evans and veteran Royce Freeman could handle backfield duties in Week 7 against the Steelers.
Oct 16, 2023
Feared to have sprained PCL
Rivers is believed to have a PCL sprain that could sideline him for multiple weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rivers will undergo an MRI to confirm the diagnosis, but the initial prognosis does not bode well for his chances at suiting up in Week 7 versus Pittsburgh. With Kyren Williams (ankle) dealing with an injury of his own, the Rams could be severely short-handed in their backfield for that contest.
Oct 15, 2023
Suffers knee injury
Rivers exited the Rams's game versus the Cardinals on Sunday with a knee injury, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.
ANALYSIS
Rivers is questionable to return after logging three carries for nine yards and catching his only target for an additional four yards. Zach Evans should now see more playing time behind Kyren Williams if Rivers is unable to return.
Oct 9, 2023
Scant usage Sunday
Rivers rushed once for one yard during Sunday's 23-14 loss to the Eagles.
ANALYSIS
Rivers saw just nine snaps on offense, a far cry from the 47 that Williams was a part of. While a more traditional split on snaps looked like it could be forming after Rivers handled nine rushing attempts against the Colts in Week 4, it appears that last week was more of an aberration than a sign of things to come. As long as Williams stays healthy, Rivers won't have much value from a fantasy perspective.
Oct 2, 2023
Career-high 47 rushing yards
Rivers rushed nine times for 47 yards and caught both of his targets for 10 yards during Sunday's 29-23 overtime win versus the Colts.
ANALYSIS
One week removed from fellow backfield mate Kyren Williams playing 100% of the snaps against the Bengals, a more traditional split of the rushing work -- 73% of snaps on offense for Williams, 27% for Rivers -- was seemingly a boon for both players. Williams enjoyed his first 100-yard rushing game as a pro, while Rivers set career highs in rushing yardage and rushing attempts, and tied his highest snap count in a game. Rivers has shown flashes of brilliance when given opportunities, and he should remain as the primary backup to Williams over Royce Freeman and Zach Evans and could be a valuable handcuff for fantasy managers.
Sep 26, 2023
No usage on offense
Rivers returned one kickoff for 16 yards during Monday's 19-16 loss to the Bengals.
ANALYSIS
Rivers never took the field aside from 20 snaps on special teams, as fellow running back Kyren Williams played every snap on offense for the Rams. Through two weeks with Williams as the lead back, Rivers has just four snaps on offense, a trend that will likely continue into next week's contest against the Colts.
Sep 18, 2023
Plays just four snaps
Rivers caught his only target for four yards during Sunday's 30-23 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
With Cam Akers (coach's decision) a surprise inactive, Rivers was elevated to the primary backup role behind starter Kyren Williams. That role turned out to be basically non-existent, as Williams was used as a true three-down back for all but one of the Rams' drives. Rivers will likely serve as the primary backup to Williams again in a Week 3 tilt against the Bengals barring any sudden changes with the team's situation with Akers.
Sep 1, 2023
Sticks with team for now
Rivers has a spot on the Rams' initial 53-man roster, Stu Jackson of the official team website reports.
ANALYSIS
The Rams kept both Rivers and Zach Evans behind Cam Akers and Kyren Williams. They won't necessarily stick with four RBs throughout the season, so either Rivers or Evans could be sent to the practice squad in the coming days/weeks. Rivers bounced between the practice squad and active roster as an undrafted rookie last year, playing 25 snaps on offense and 36 snaps on special teams in eight games for the Rams.
Aug 27, 2023
Efficient with six carries Saturday
Rivers rushed six times for 32 yards in the Rams' 41-0 preseason loss to the Broncos on Saturday night.
ANALYSIS
Rivers was the first Rams running back to log a touch and generated consistent gains on his six carries. The undrafted free agent from Fresno State has potentially done enough to secure a roster spot after amassing 105 rushing yards on 21 carries through three preseason games, as he's certainly outperformed rookie sixth-round pick Zach Evans and veteran Royce Freeman.
Aug 20, 2023
Solid in preseason start
Rivers rushed nine times for 42 yards in the Rams' 34-17 preseason loss to the Raiders on Saturday night. He also returned one kickoff for 18 yards.
ANALYSIS
The undrafted second-year pro was the first Rams running back to log a touch and ended up pacing the team in carries and rushing yards. Rivers outpaced rookie Zach Evans by just one rush attempt, but he was seven ahead of veteran Royce Freeman, who could be his primary competition for a roster spot heading into next Saturday night's preseason finale against the Broncos.
Aug 13, 2023
Effective in limited role
Rivers rushed six times for 31 yards and returned two kicks for 31 yards during Saturday's 31-17 preseason loss to the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Competing to be the third running back on the Rams' roster alongside Zach Evans and Royce Freeman, Rivers started the game and ripped off a game-high 15-yard rush that was part of a lengthy second-quarter touchdown drive. While Rivers didn't get involved in the passing game, his kick return abilities were also on display, a skill that combined with his familiarity with the offense might give him the edge as a backup to starters Cam Akers and Kyren Williams.
Dec 8, 2022
Healthy scratch for TNF
Rivers (coach's decision) has been ruled inactive for Thursday's game against the Raiders.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old rookie was signed from the practice squad ahead of the Rams' Week 13 loss to Kansas City, slotting in as the third-string running back behind Cam Akers and Kyren Williams. However, Rivers exclusively played on special teams over the last two games, and he's now set to be replaced by Malcolm Brown, who was elevated from the practice squad for Thursday's game. Rivers' next opportunity to suit up will come against the Packers on Monday, Dec. 19.
Nov 26, 2022
Signed to active roster
The Rams signed Rivers to their active roster Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Rivers has gone back and forth between the practice squad and the active roster this season, and he's suited up in three games with the Rams, tallying nine carries for 21 yards and five catches for 29 yards. His signing to the active roster comes four days after Los Angeles waived former lead back Darrell Henderson. Rivers will likely work as the Rams' No. 3 ball carrier behind Cam Akers and Kyren Williams on Sunday against Kansas City.
Nov 7, 2022
Returns to practice squad
Rivers reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
Rivers was elevated from the practice squad for the third game in a row ahead of Sunday's 16-13 loss to Tampa Bay. However, the rookie running back did not record a rush for the first time during this span, as played just four special-teams snaps Week 9. Rivers has totaled nine rushes for 21 yards and five receptions (on five targets) for 29 yards in 2022, and he'll now require a full spot on the active roster in order to suit up for the Rams' moving forward this season.
Nov 5, 2022
Rejoins active roster
Rivers was elevated from the practice squad Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Perhaps more crucially rookie running back Kyren Williams (ankle) was not activated off injured reserve meaning Rivers and Darrell Henderson are expected to operate as the top options out of the backfield come Sunday. Head coach Sean McVay didn't rule out the possibility of Cam Akers making his return after a two-game absence due to personal reasons, but even were Akers to be active, it seems entirely possible the combo of Rivers and Henderson will continue to operate at the top of the depth chart given the former's public spats with the team. Rivers carried the ball eight times for 21 yards and operated as the top pass catcher (4-15) in last week's loss to the 49ers.
Oct 31, 2022
Reverts to practice squad
Rivers reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
With Cam Akers (personal) out and Darrell Henderson dealing with an illness, Rivers was elevated to the active roster and played a sizable role against the 49ers. Rivers was barley outsnapped by Henderson 24-21, but the former led the team in rushing attempts (eight) and rushing yards (21) while securing all four of his targets for 15 yards. Given the Rams opted to use the undrafted rookie out of Fresno State ahead of Malcolm Brown in Week 8, it seems likely that Rivers will get another elevation in Week 9, regardless of Henderson and Akers' statuses.
Oct 31, 2022
Leads team in carries
Rivers had eight carries for 21 yards and secured all four of his targets for 15 yards during Sunday's 31-14 loss to the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
Rivers, fresh off a practice squad promotion Saturday, handled more carries than Malcolm Brown or Darrell Henderson, who had been limited in practice due to an illness, while Cam Akers (personal) was again inactive. Though the undrafted rookie out of Fresno State wasn't efficient in the second appearance of his NFL career, he's worth a speculative add in most fantasy formats due to the unsettled nature of Los Angeles' backfield. Rivers is set to shift back to the practice squad Monday, and he is now eligible for just one more elevation before the Rams would have to sign him to the 53-man roster to play.
Oct 29, 2022
Suiting up vs. San Francisco
The Rams activated Rivers from their practice squad to the active roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's game versus the 49ers.
ANALYSIS
It will be the second game this season Rivers is active for the Rams. After Week 8, the rookie UDFA out of Fresno State will only be eligible for one more elevation from the practice squad before he would need to be signed to the team's 53-man roster in order to play.
Oct 18, 2022
Shifts back to practice squad
Rivers reverted to the Rams' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
Rivers was called up on game day for the first time since joining the Rams' practice squad Sept. 15, as running back Cam Akers (personal) was ruled inactive ahead of Sunday's win over Carolina. While the undrafted rookie played just three of the team's 65 offensive snaps, he still recorded one carry for no gain to go along with one catch (on one target) for 14 yards. Rivers could stand to see another elevation from the practice squad if Akers remains on the active roster for Los Angeles' next game against San Francisco on Sunday, Oct. 30.
Oct 17, 2022
Plays just two snaps
Rivers caught his lone target for 14 yards and rushed once for no gain in Sunday's 24-10 win versus the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Rivers was called on to provide depth for Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown with Cam Akers (personal) out, and while he only saw the field for two snaps on offense in his NFL debut, he was able to net a rush (for no gain) and a reception out of them. The catch in particular was a big boon for the Rams, as the rookie was able to break off a 14-yard gain in the red zone before Matt Gay tapped in a 21-yard field goal to tie the game. The Rams may use the bye week to address the running back position with outside help, but if they choose to hold pat, Rivers may see more work as a depth piece in future weeks.
Oct 15, 2022
Suiting up vs. Carolina
The Rams elevated Rivers from the practice squad to their active roster Saturday ahead of Sunday's game versus the Panthers.
ANALYSIS
Rivers will make his NFL debut in Week 6 with regular starting running back Cam Akers (personal) out. The rookie is small (5-foot-9, 195 pounds) and slow (4.60-second 40) by NFL standards, but he showed some ability as a pass-catcher at Fresno State.
Sep 15, 2022
Signs with practice squad
Rivers was signed to the Rams' practice squad Thursday.
ANALYSIS

Signs with Seahawks
Rivers signed a contract with the Seahawks on Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
The 23-year-old running back is slated to add depth for Seattle, after the team placed linebacker Jon Rhattigan on the reserve/physically unable to perform list Wednesday. Rivers signed with the Cardinals back in May but was waived earlier this month. With just days before the Seahawks kick off their preseason finale Friday against the Cowboys, there's uncertainty if the rookie will suit up given the short turnaround. Among Rivers' competition for a roster spot in the team's backfield is Josh Johnson and Darwin Thompson.

He spent five collegiate seasons at Fresno State, and it's not yet clear whether he'll land a role with another professional team.
